hello!! I really hope this isn't a rude question, bc I'm genuinely curious. I've been wondering for a while now why people who make gifs from a movie or a show or whatever get upset when somebody else uses the gif in something or want credit for it. Is the process difficult? I'm not 100% how to make a gif but I can't imagine it being that arduous. Anyway like I said not trying to be rude have a good day :D
hey there! it's not a rude question if only because you're asking in the first place instead of just discrediting it.
the thing a lot of people don't understand is how much work actually goes into making a gif, because we don't just plug the video into a gifmaking program and call it a day. a lot of us start JUST with the process of pirating the highest quality video we can find, which can be anywhere from an hour or two of downloading to days at a time (my record is five days for all five seasons of the a-team, but that's a story for another day)
so there's already at least a few hours potentially, just from downloading. granted, we do other things obviously but that's still time that's going into the process.
so you have to download those videos, find the clip you want, and then there are several different methods of getting the clip into whatever program you use (i use photoshop). most of the time i have to reformat the video from .mkv to .mp4, because PS doesn't take .mkv but the highest quality videos are typically in that format. so i put that into a reformatting program, which can take at least another hour depending on how long the file is.
so i've finally got the file ready to go in photoshop, and then i can actually start working on the gif itself. i've now spent at MINIMUM two or three hours just getting this video ready. then i personally clip it down to the exact scene i want it and go from there. if you're just doing a random assortment of scenes, you can choose whatever you want. but if you're doing a scene itself, you have to clip that scene in bursts so you can add the subtitles based off the mouth-movement.
so say you're doing a gifset of your favorite character from a tv show. well, you don't want to just have all of the gifs come from the same episode. so you do the reformatting process all over again. more hours. you do that eight or nine or ten times until you have all the scenes you want. and THEN you can start the actual editing process.
what size should it be depending on what kind of gifset you want to do? 540x540? 540x405? do you just crop it first or should you resize it? the resolution might go down depending on how you resize it. do you know what smart sharpen is, and which levels you should have it on in order to make the scene look the best? what's a smart object? what percentage should your frame rate be so it doesn't look too fast? it's completely different between live action and animation, after all. do you know which colors you should use in the adjustment layers, like selective color? does levels or curves work better for what you're trying to do? how do i get rid of the yellow in this scene so it matches the other gifs? what's the difference between linear contrast and medium contrast? should you use exposure or vibrance to get the shadows you want?
you've done all that, it looks good! you go to export it as a proper gif so you can post it to tumblr. but don't forget your settings on that either! transparency dither, web snap, the amount of colors and what size it should be. you do all that and the gif ends up being over the 10mb limit. so now you have to go back and carefully chip away at the frames until it's under the limit, which means you ultimately have to choose what to sacrifice from that scene so you can properly export it.
so you try again. okay, it's on 9.7MB. that's going to read as 10MB on tumblr. back in you go to chip at it again until it's going to read as 9MB instead. finally. you export the gif, add it to tumblr, and then tumblr doesn't like how it looks when you import it and destroys the quality, so you have to go back and try different export settings until it looks the way you want it.
so you do that nine more times. The Entire Process. downloading and reformatting the .mkv, getting the scene you want, clipping it, resizing and cropping it, coloring it, exporting it, and if you're adding subtitles then it's an entirely new process to add on! and don't forget that if you're doing a mix of scenes, you have to color them all depending on their own lighting, so you're basically doing the process again from scratch.
then you try to think of a fun caption. maybe you want to choose a line you feel best summarizes the character or scene. you put that caption through an HTML formatting program so it can be a gradient (the easiest part!), make the caption look pretty, and then tag it and press send.
you've spent HOURS on this process. literal fucking hours. you've been learning how to carefully manipulate the colors to look good, you know what frame rate looks the best, you have all of your settings saved as .psds.
and then someone right clicks, saves the gif (or just copies it) and posts it to twitter with their own funny little caption.
they get 26k likes, who knows how many retweets, a bunch of new follows. they get all the attention for that gif when they put zero work into it. all they did was write a caption and press send.
you got 400 likes and 165 reblogs on your gifset over on tumblr. maybe you get some tags on it if you're really lucky.
so tell me. wouldn't you be a little frustrated, too?
and just in case anyone wants to try and tell me this doesn't happen, you're welcome to compare the stats on this gifset of godzilla versus the repost on twitter.
#so yes it's a very arduous process#and yes we DO have a skillset that no one really acknowledges#part of the reason i stopped making gifs is simply because they kept getting stolen#and i was tired of seeing it#replies!#and i'm not putting this under a read more so yall can read it yourselves

The Handmaid's Tale Rewatch: 1x06
These rewatch posts will all be spoilery, so if you haven't seen the show and want to watch it unspoiled, read no further.
The opening of this episode is so hot lol. We had to just get that statement out of the way first. Also, if you watch the ending moments of 1x05 directly back to back with the heavy breathing over black from the opening of 1x06, it really compounds onto 1x05 exquisitely...
But then we also get the wall kiss, which is (in my opinion) one of the hottest kisses of all time. I've certainly watched it and analyzed it over a hundred times... And just when you think there's nothing left to discover, you watch this kiss again and realize you can hear Nick sigh through his nose, swallow, then take two affected breaths through his mouth before he starts kissing her. 💀
Then we have the hand touching in the hall outside Fred's study before the ambassador meeting, which is soooo sweet and angsty. The way Nick closes his eyes while he's touching her hand is just peak romance to me. He's so, so, so gone already. June also has a wonderful little eye flutter and breathy moment in the same scene that takes me out.
There are also just some incredible acting moments outside the romance and angsty/sexy bits. June's facial transformation at Fred’s door when he asks her to leave during Scrabble (when she’s not paying attention to him and forming “skin” with her tiles) - it’s so ridiculously well acted… the way she is so pissed and rolls her eyes up and then shifts into Offred mode. It's just so clear to me that Nick and the wall kiss that happened right before this scene in the study had successfully switched her back to her real self - to June - and she’s having trouble coming out of it before this moment where she's forced to be Offred again. And it’s so visible and haunting when she makes the switch.
Then there's the moment where Fred makes her kiss him and "mean it," coupled with the follow up scene where she's brushing her teeth until her mouth bleeds. I think about this all the time, actually - about how June must feel unable to "wash" Fred off herself - and I imagine her going to Nick's and scrubbing her skin raw sometimes after an encounter with Fred.
And finally, we have to talk about "my name is June" - when she finally tells Nick her real name while feeling vulnerable and safe with him after freaking out over lying to the Mexican ambassador by saying she's happy in Gilead. Nick's reading of her body language in this scene is uncanny, stopping when he knows she doesn't want to be touched, then going for the water to give her time to collect herself, then understanding that she wants his touch after she tells him her name. The way she just melts into his hand when he touches her face is gorgeous, and the little forehead kiss he gives her before holding her head against his chest in the hug at the end of the scene is the most adorably perfect button for one of the best hurt/comfort scenes I have ever witnessed on screen.
What's your favorite moment from 1x06?
This was a tough choice since there are so many great moments, but I managed to pick these two, at least for now...
Feel free to reblog and add a screenshot or clip of your favorite moments so we can get a 1x06 chain going!
If you're a podcast listener, here are the links to the spoiler free and spoiler full discussions of 1x06 from Above the Garage:

y'know there's something really heartbreaking about mephone4 losing mepad + toilet but gaining floory + cabby in return. how do i put this. mephone4 didn't like cabby at the start and he was pretty much not enjoying her presence, and we know that he also pretty much didn't like floory either. however, mephone4 ended up changing, since s3 made him realize that he wants to make things better. s3 made him realize that he wants to be a good boss and a good friend. cabby saw herself in the way mephone4 was exposed and although she didn't know how to feel about him at the start she still thought he deserved another chance. floory managed to get through mephone4 since he didn't let mephone4 put him down or dismiss his advice, he stood his ground because he cared about mephone4 and wanted him to be genuine. this pushes mephone4 to be more open about his emotions, and floory is the one that stands up for mephone4 when he was neutralized, saying that he's not like that anymore, which is true. mephone4 changed. he recognized his faults and feels terrible about the way he treated both mepad and toilet.
and then we have the way he acted with both of them. he HATED toilet. he felt DISGUSTED by the guy for literal no reason. it is likely that he was projecting the ideas cobs put onto his head when he was younger, but he was genuinely awful to toilet in so many ways that hey! it possibly led to toilet's death or even WORSE. and mepad... oh mepad. mepad wanted mephone4 to change so so much. he wanted mephone4 to accept that he needs help and that he needs to let himself be vulnerable. he wanted mephone4 to get better and it makes sense! he CARES about mephone4! but he tried and tried yet mephone4 never changed. and mephone4 just left. he didn't even bother to look for mepad. for ALL WE KNOW mepad is aware that mp4 took a vacation, too. could you imagine that? worrying so much over your boss- no, YOUR BROTHER, but then when you wake up, after what might as well be one or two years, you just discover that he had a vacation and that apparently, he hasn't learnt a thing. if i was mepad i would be FURIOUS. mephone4 had all the time in the world to grow, why is he still the same? mepad isn't aware that mephone4 was masking, so this worsens the situation too. mepad thinks that mephone4 genuinely doesn't care.
he is beyond help at that point. mepad lost his friend (toilet) thanks to mephone4 too. mepad lost so much time when mephone4 was gone. of course mepad wouldn't want to do anything with him. for all he knows, mephone4 just... left. and didn't change. so WHY should HE try to keep changing mephone4? mephone4 had all his chances.
but mepad doesn't know that mephone4 changed. that he became a good friend. that he became a good boss. that he asked for help.
and mephone4 doesn't even try to explain himself. he understands that mepad is angry with him. as much as he cares about mepad, he's willing to let go.
you win some, you lose some.

I wish they'd asked about what oscar is like as a boyfriend. I need to know more about boyfriend!oscar 😭😭😭😭
HDLDFKSH idk that nicole would know how they Really Are when they're alone but i also feel like he's so unerringly normal that it's pretty easy to vaguely hypothetically imagine... oscar's public bf lore is mainly 1) constantly referencing lily in really random situations ("my gf got me this chocolate machine for my birthday hehe" "my gf's a pescatarian" "my gf's going off to uni 🙁" in his f3 champion press conf) and 2) recalling mundane activities with her like watching killing eve or getting service area fast food after silverstone or going on walks around his flat in london lol... or arguing about food lore. i think he's also pretty self-aware about how he talks about her because he's eager to share these little tidbits and say that she's in uni but at the same time was really resistant to some of dax's weird insinuations when he was on his podcast and is good at shutting down a lot of innuendo by being like yeah she's good i'm happily taken i've got a girlfriend That's It and moving on. also unrelated but remember when he spent his time off after shanghai going to a cat café....... this reminds me of him being like my favorite place in richmond is this little australian breakfast place because they sell cherry ripes ❤️ We're just normal men dot mp4. sorry where we we
#random but there's this old comment on an ig post of him making a >:/ face where his friend's like “oscar when [guy] flirts with lily#which always makes me laugh 😭😭😭 anyway#ask#op meta

Massive Spoilers for Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3.
Okay, I know Tony Stark's sacrifice at the end of Endgame was tragically poignant and befitting of Tony's character arc of turning from war profiteer to hero.
But what if The Infinity Stones, more specifically The Soul Stone that had Natasha's spirit in it, tried to change Tony's fate by using The Time Stone to send Tony back in time before the backfiring of The Infinity Stones could take effect,
Specifically, back to when batch 89 was created by The High Evolutionary?
Imagine him seeing baby Rocket and thinking to himself "I have a son now."
Imagine him holding baby Rocket close and humming Country Roads, Take Me Home as a lullaby to his new adopted raccoon son.
Imagine baby Rocket's first word is some variation of dad (like papa or dada) and Tony is trying not to cry with a combination of pride and joy for his son.
Imagine him also deciding to protect the 89 batch since they are his son's friends.
But this AU has a bittersweet conclusion.
Tony, knowing he's living on borrowed time but not wanting to leave his son in the care of The High Evolutionary, sets The High Evolutionary's base to explode and evacuates every single innocent creature The High Evolutionary was experimenting on, including the batch 89 who are the last to board a ship in the docking bay.
Unfortunately, The High Evolutionary enters the docking bay just as Tony is about to board the ship batch 89 are on.
To buy time for their escape, Tony says "Go fly in the beautiful sky without me." and battles The High Evolutionary in the docking bay while Rocket starts the ship up.
Tony is mortality wounded during the fight and sets off the explosions when the ship carrying the 89 batch is far enough away to not be caught in the blast.
Tony dies from his injury before the explosions reach the docking bay but not before answering The High Evolutionary's question of "What are you doing?" with
"Preventing you from harming my son or his friends ever again."
Meanwhile, Rocket is flying the ship but puts it on autopilot after hearing the explosions and looks out the window to see what remains of the place he grew up in. At first, Rocket has a look of shock on his face but eventually tears begin to pour out from his eyes as he screams out for his dad.
Eventually, he decides to listen to some music and notices one of the folders in the MP3 section is titled "Songs for my son" and he decides to play songs from the folder.
The folder has bunch of songs from the 70s, the 80s and even the 90s with the latest song released being an acoustic cover of You'll Be In My Heart from Tarzan.
He also notices that there is a video in the MP4 files called "Farewell" with his dad in it so he decides to play it.
The video has Tony recounting multiple good memories the two shared as well as reassuring Rocket that he is worth far more than The High Evolutionary saw in him.
He also apologizes for leaving Rocket via dying saying that if he could've stayed a little longer than he would have.
Finally, he ends the video by saying "I know you'll survive whatever happens next. I will be watching over you in the endless sky."
Rocket smiles and says "Thank you, dad."
As for how the AU changes the MCU, Rocket would have his batch 89 friends alongside Groot and they'd be a mercenary group called The Endless Sky.
Rocket would be slightly less cyclical because he has his friends but still hardened by growing up having to be a mercenary in order to make ends meet because when Tony died, J.A.R.V.I.S wasn't online so he couldn't transfer any funds to a new account for Rocket.
Peter discovers that Rocket is carrying a MP3 player and headphones in his bag but Rocket refuses to answer where he got it so Peter assumes he stole them.
(He actually bought them with some money he got from his mercenary work because he didn't want the songs connecting him to the memories of his dad to be subconsciously tainted by the kleptomania he developed as a way to survive)
When Yondu dies in Vol 2, Rocket actually allows Peter to listen to one of his songs and actually talks about his own dad with Peter and says "I wonder if Yondu is talking with my dad in the endless sky."
The only members of The Endless Sky who don't die in the snapture are Rocket and Lylla.
During the five year time period between the snapture and the main plot of Endgame, Rocket notices the physical similarities between Tony Stak and his dad, not realizing that they are technically one in the same, and thinks that Tony Stark is his dad's twin brother and asks Tony if he had a twin brother.
Tony is confused but Rocket pulls up the "Farewell" video on Tony's computer that Rocket had saved on a USB drive. Tony, knowing that Rocket would never believe him if he told him that that was probably another version of him, lies and says that he had a twin brother. Rocket explains his relationship with his dad before asking if it's alright if he called Tony his uncle.
Tony, wanting Rocket to have some family after most of his found family were lost because of Thanos, allows Rocket to call him uncle.
When Tony sacrifices himself in Endgame, Rocket is upset at losing his uncle but decides to be strong for the remaining members of his family.
GOTG Vol 3 goes way differently because The High Evolutionary is no longer in the picture.

20 questions for fic writers
I was tagged by @clueless-mp4 (thank you!!!) to answer some questions about my fic writing, this might get a little repetetive as I only currently have one published work, but it gives me a chance to talk a little bit about Vampire Fic which I am always excited to do.
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Currently 2, soon to be 3!
2. What's your total A03 word count?
Currently 98k, soon to be 200k (approximately).
3. What fandoms do you write for? BBC Sherlock and its adjacents (Holmes canon and of course BBC Dracula)
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
From a Drop of Water sweep by default!!!
Truly though I am still so touched by the response to that story, it has been beyond anything I ever expected and I am so grateful to have written something that resonated with so many people.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do! I get so much joy out of going through my comments, and I try to take the time to respond to anyone who was kind enough to tell me that they enjoyed my writing.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I'm a big fan of angst with a happy ending. That said, if you've seen Dracula, you know to expect there to be something bittersweet about the ending of The Stories in Our Veins
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
From a Drop of Water was and is pure wish fulfillment on all accounts.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not yet *knock on wood* which has been a delightful change of pace.
9. Do you write smut?
The vampire fic has exactly one (1) sex scene.
10. Do you write crossovers?
I am currently! But does it really count as a crossover when two stories were meant to be connected? (Yeah I think so).
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes, From a Drop of Water has been translated into Mandarin and Russian which is so so cool to me.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not exactly, though when working on the early stages of From a Drop of Water, I solicited a lot of feedback from my beta readers, and I would say the feedback @novaviis offered in particular played a huge role in why that story turned out as well as it did! I definitely appreciated all the help while I was still so new to building a story.
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
Holmes and Watson forever and always, amen.
15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Thankfully none at this stage, though as you can imagine in a writing process as long as the one for The Stories in Our Veins has been there have been several points where I have despaired of it ever actually getting done.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think my strongest suit is planning out the subtextual language of a story and weaving in references that create interplay between my work and the source text. I've also gained a lot of structural practice with this current story and I think I'm getting pretty good at it! My most niche talent is the written montage, love connecting all the little clues together at the end!!!
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Prose itself, particularly descriptions, though I'd say I'm getting better at both with practice. I also have certain words that I mix up with other words that I cannot for the life of me ever keep straight (homophones are the bane of my existence) so I have to be really careful to search those out, and even then my beta readers still find ones I miss!!!
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I don't think I would do it unless I spoke the language myself, I'd be too worried about getting something wrong.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Actually, I did write one Alice centered one shot for the Twilight fandom back when I was like... 13. I don't think I ever deleted it so it probably still exists out on the internet somewhere, though I have no idea what I might have named that account so have no way of finding it.
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
Not to oversell it, but I really adore The Stories in Our Veins, and I'm very proud of how it's turning out. I think it's better than From a Drop of Water in just about every way, though I recognize that a crossover with a TV show that only 12 people care about is going to have a lot less of a broad appeal than a TJLC slanted re-imagining of series 4. If you do end up reading it anyway, know that you have my undying gratitude!
I'm tagging @novaviis, @minotaurmutual and @teledild0nix!

Anonymous asked:
Hullo, hope you're doing well and enjoying the comeback and the albums 🤩🤩 looking forward to when they'll show up in roulette!
Pls feel free to ignore as this may be a little dumb, but I figured you might know?
From what I can vaguely understand from Wiki and from your past response, can I assume TV broadcast files are usually .ts files? And that it's not the file type that dictates the "quality," but rather the encoding?
There's a Twitter account (😭 I forgot which, it's lost on my timeline now) that occasionally posts .ts files of DC's music show performances, the most recent file being :
240718.MnetJP.엠카운트다운.드림캐쳐.JUSTICE.H264.AAC.1080i-AbySSS.ts
Going off the name and what you've mentioned before about "best quality" where 1080i h264 is better than Youtube, would this file probably be better than downloading the YT video of the same performance?
Fake ask again to strip links because I'm really good at being unnecessarily paranoid but YES! I am having a blast. Siyeon’s absence is felt but it's nice to see her still pop up in some of the YouTube show performances. Handong is totally killing her parts too though so it's been fun seeing that 😁
On the question of quality:
(Minor point of clarity: the encoding is an aspect which determines the quality but not the only one. The simplest quality measure is probably taking into account encoding AND bitrate, where bitrate is the amount of data being displayed per second and encoding is how efficiently it's compressed. Technically the best quality is the highest possible bitrate with zero compression but that's just not feasible, so this is where encodings come in. Newer encodings are, as a rule of thumb, better quality than older ones at "sensible" bitrates, but, as in the case of YouTube for example, a much lower bitrate can make a newer encoding look much worse than an older one. That's why in my quality ranking YouTube was beneath MPEG2 - YouTube is almost all h264 for 1080p, which is newer than MPEG2, but the bitrates drag the quality down the drain.)
Generally 1080i recordings, in their "rawest" form, are MPEG-TS (.ts) files, yeah. 4k are more commonly posted in MP4 though I've found. I'm speculating here based off my own experiences (I haven't ever asked anyone who does this if this is the true reason) but I think that's because MPEG-TS just isn’t efficient enough at high bitrates to provide a very pleasant viewing experience. Let me demonstrate using a convoluted metaphor:
Say you’re a marble vendor and you are looking to transport two blue marbles and two red marbles to one of your clients. You need a container to send them in. Because these marbles are quite precious you want to make sure that they are sent in a well fortified box, but you also care about fitting as many boxes as possible into your supply trucks, so you don't want to waste any space inside of them. You pack all four marbles tightly into the box and seal it up.
When your client receives their shipment, they open it up and can easily see all four marbles in the box. There isn’t much incentive for them to move the marbles since, even though the box has a bit of a heavy hinge, it's not really that big of a deal and any other box would incur some cost in opening it too. They place the box on their shelf and don't worry about it any further.
Now imagine you want to send a client one hundred thousand marbles. But your boxes still only fit four marbles each. The transportation is easy and efficient because the boxes stack nicely (assume for a moment you also have an extremely efficient marble box packing machine), but, once they all arrive at their destination, your client doesn't want to search through hundreds of boxes trying to find the marble they are looking for. They want to move all those marbles to a much bigger and well sorted marble... Okay I really don't know what people normally store hundreds of thousands of marbles in. But the point being that even though all the marbles are still the same, at a certain volume the transportation container was no longer optimal to keep at the destination. 4k HEVC .ts files are HORRIBLY inefficient at rendering even on relatively good hardware and moving the data to MP4 has huge performance benefits.
So the file extension of the source doesn't matter? Well I still think it does, psychologically. I would always trust a .ts more than a .mp4 at 1080i. It isn't possible for you to know, without the original, that what the uploader did was a remux (changing the container) rather than a re-encode (a lossy operation which, best case scenario, produced an output that looks equivalent to the human eye because nothing crucial was lost). Well intentioned people accidentally re-encode to MP4 all the time without realising what it does to the integrity of the file. It's much less likely someone has had the same mishap in the other direction because .ts is not a commonly desired destination. So even though a remuxed MP4 is identical in quality to it's MPEG-TS source, in order to avoid other people's translation errors I would always trust an available .ts first.
That file, assuming it is what it says it is, would absolutely be better than downloading the same performance from YouTube. YouTube has done a lossy re-encode on the video the broadcaster uploaded and will not ever serve you the original. A really obvious symptom of this is the file sizes. YouTube will always be a lot smaller. (For the same encoding. Which by the way you can find out by using Media Info. AVC=h264, HEVC=h265) It's pretty noticeable to the human eye in motion, so it can be a fun exercise to play the two side by side and compare. It's also noticeable on a frame by frame level if you use a player that lets you do that.
But yeah, in summary, YouTube's version of that performance will be unquestionably worse. On average it will be missing 3/4 of the information stored in the original. Which, because of how cool compression is, actually still produces a pretty decent image, but it falls apart in motion and really if you are an individual wanting to watch something for your own enjoyment instead of a big company trying to optimise their bandwidth usage there's just no need to sacrifice those pixels.

I am a firm believer that this random deleted Gene line deserved to stay in the show! They fully animated it and everything, so it's a crime that they deleted it (I believe this was supposed to be in the episode Father of the Bob). Yes, yes, they don't want kids to eat a ton of Tylenol, but still, it's freaking comedy gold, I tell you. It forever lives rent-free in my mind, so I just had to try animating it myself. It's not that good, but I haven't really animated much before, so for a first try, I'd say it's passable. I also think I have a set art style now!! That's pretty exciting! My art's probably going to still look inconsistent in the future, but I like drawing in this specific style.
Eugene Mirman's delivery and the fact that he can't stop himself from laughing is my favorite thing ever.
I also had to make a quick sketch of my OC, Alexis, reacting to Gene saying this, because now I can't draw anything Gene-related without drawing Alexis too. I like to imagine them thinking something like: God, he's so dumb. He's actually perfect and I love him so much.
#gene belcher#bobs burgers oc#gene is so adorable and expressive this was so much fun to do <3#i actually almost colored the animation because i love adding color so much now but i decided against it to preserve my sanity#god i have even more respect for animators than i did before this was HARD--i counted and i made around twenty frames in total#yes i manually made every frame myself because i wanted him to feel bouncy and expressive. why do i do this to myself

And so it was like the yelling of phantom hounds and hunters, and the thunder of their coursers in the air—a furious, grand and supernatural music, which in my fancy made a suitable accompaniment to the discussion of that enigmatical person—martyr—angel—demon—Uncle Silas—with whom my fate was now so strangely linked, and whom I had begun to fear. Oh! Uncle Silas, burning always in memory in the same awful lights.
Shadow of a Doubt (1943) dir. Alfred Hitchcock, The Dark Angel (1989) dir. Peter Hammond, Uncle Silas by Sheridan Le Fanu, Shadow of a Doubt screenplay by Thornton Wilder, Sally Benson, and Alma Reville

McLaren to run one-off 'Triple Crown' livery at Monaco Grand Prix as part of 60th anniversary celebrations
McLaren will run a one-off 'Triple Crown' papaya, white and black livery in this weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix as part of their 60th anniversary celebrations. The special livery, which will also adorn the MCL60 at the following race at Spain’s Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, is a nod to McLaren’s achievement of winning motorsport’s three most famous races, known as the Triple Crown, which includes F1’s Monaco race, Indycar’s Indy 500 at Indianapolis and the endurance showpiece – the Le Mans 24 Hours. The rear of the car – driven by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri – will be bedecked in papaya, to celebrate the team’s maiden Indy 500-winning M16C/D that Johnny Rutherford guided to victory in 1974. READ MORE: McLaren share progress across several key areas in latest sustainability report The centre is what the team call “sharp ice white”, from Alain Prost’s 1984 Monaco Grand Prix win, running a red and white colour scheme on the MP4/2 that became synonymous with McLaren in F1. The front end of the car is black, in tribute to the McLaren F1 GTR that won the 1995 Le Mans 24 Hours with JJ Lehto, Yannick Dalmas and Masanori Sekiya in McLaren’s first attempt at the endurance race. McLaren will be running the special livery through the Monaco Grand Prix and also in Spain The special livery celebrates McLaren’s achievement of winning motorsport’s three most famous races The special livery is part of McLaren's 60th anniversary celebrations “Having achieved the greatest accomplishment in motorsport by completing the Triple Crown, we are proud to celebrate the rich history of McLaren Racing with a special livery at the 2023 Monaco Grand Prix,” said McLaren CEO Zak Brown. “In line with our 60th anniversary celebrations and honouring the legacy of Bruce McLaren, the unique livery pays homage to the three victories which form the Triple Crown accolade.” Norris added: “It’s a privilege to be involved in McLaren Racing’s 60th anniversary celebrations and to combine three iconic race-winning McLaren liveries into one for the 2023 Monaco Grand Prix is going to be a special moment for the whole team. “McLaren have an impressive record in Monte Carlo and on a personal level to have experienced a podium at the 2021 race was a huge honour. We’ll be racing hard in a great looking car to celebrate Bruce McLaren and the team’s amazing legacy.” The front end of the car is in tribute to the F1 GTR that won the 1995 Le Mans 24 Hours The triple crown includes F1’s Monaco race, Indycar’s Indy 500 and the Le Mans 24 Hours The F1-spec papaya, white and black livery will break cover on track when first practice gets under way in Monte Carlo Piastri said: “The Triple Crown livery looks incredible, and I can’t imagine a better way to experience my first Monaco Grand Prix as a Formula 1 driver with McLaren Racing. “Bruce McLaren was a winner in Monte Carlo in 1962 and the McLaren team have such rich history at the Monaco Grand Prix. I will feel incredibly proud lining up on the grid in the MCL60, carrying the same colours as the three Triple Crown-winning race cars.” READ MORE: Norris highlights where Piastri differs to Ricciardo and says he’s being ‘pushed more’ by his new team mate McLaren ran a one-off livery in Monaco back in 2021 when they brought the iconic blue and orange colours of then partner Gulf Oil back to F1, with Norris finishing on the podium in that race. On the same day McLaren run this livery in the Monaco Grand Prix – a race they have won 15 times since 1984 – their Indycar outfit Arrow McLaren will run four different special liveries on each of the team’s cars in the 2023 edition of the Indy 500. The F1-spec papaya, white and black livery will break cover on track when first practice gets under way in Monte Carlo on Friday. via Formula 1 News https://www.formula1.com
