Not really sure if I would upload my Rox x Miguel fic since I made the decision both of them would speak spanish between themselves even tho the "main" language of the fic is in english and it would be a painnnn to translate all the spanish dialogue (+ adapting slang since Rox is salvadoreño and treats Miguel with voseo and not by "usted" and in Rox's universe its only spanish dialogue)

Its pretty much a BIIIIG self indulgent fic written for myself but I also wonder if other ppl may enjoy reading it

synopsis: you were talking to a friend,and your partner thought that you both were a bit too into the conversation.

Captain, Curly

Curly is not a jealous man.

he is very secure in the relationship,and trusts you enough to know that being jealous of such trivial situations was just foolish.

he thought being jealous was something beneath him.

But seeing you so intertwined in this little conversation was starting to prick your boyfriend.

He doesn't confront anyone, nor does he make a scene.

He just swiftly comes,puts his hand around your waist,and joins in on the conversation.

"my,what are you guys talking about so intently?".

after the friend is gone,he doesn't really bring it up. just his grasp on you is firm throughout the day.

If it's a colleague from pony express he might speak to the higher ups...who knows...

Jimmy

Jimmy is extremely insecure in the relationship,he is already always on the edge of anyone stealing you away from him.

He just can't help himself, he's lucky enough to have bagged a baddie,so he doesn't intent upon letting anyone ruin the relationship.

so seeing you talking to your friend with such enthusiasm,made him feel as though he was being stabbed with an axe repeatedly.

He was quick to be at your side, literally snatch you by the waist,and just stared intensely at your friend,to the point that they got so uncomfortable that they just said bye and left.

it didn't stop there tho,he kept on pestering you about who that friend was,why were you so close with them and were you planning on leaving him.

says that he doesn't want you speaking to that friend ever again.

Anya

Anya is herself a very shy individual,she doesn't really like confronting people about such silly things.

But it doesn't mean that she doesn't get jealous. Because she does. Quite often, actually.

she dislikes seeing you pay too much attention to anyone that isn't her,she knows it's not good or logical to have such thoughts but she just can't help it.

seeing you talk to that friend of yours made her so jealous that she just went silent.

after you finished talking you noticed that your girlfriend seemed more down than usual.

She didn't talk, or even looked at you for that matter.

You quickly realised that had happened and immediately peppered her face with smooches.

"silly girl,you really think I'm ever gonna leave you?". You say to her.

She just blushes and hides her face in your chest.

Swansea rarely gets jealous. Emphasis on 'rarely' coz he never does.

he thinks it's literally pointless to get jealous,he's wayy past that age.

but if he ever does,he just asks you.

"aren't ya gettin' a bit too chummy wit that friend of yours?"

once you reassure him,he doesn't really push on after that.

heh, sure! the history of the Oxygen- one person criticized my drawing "Webs in jungle", because Webs had "gills" all over his body (its not gills, but that person insisted on his own). and i decided to make a joke, to annoy that person...aaaand, i drew Oxygen (seawing with a huge amount of "gills")! he turned out VERY cool, and im surprised that he has become popular... so, i want to keep drawing Oxygen! (during free time) Ps. i dont speak english very well, and i hope everything was clear (●'◡'●)

he lives in Possibility, and maybe will be a fisherman (fisherdragon xD) or writer... he has a son!! (i havent had time to come up with a detailed story for him yet...)

miguel was a super supportive father whenever it came to gabriella. miguel and you supported her in anything and congratulated her when she had such good grades. but when gabriella had invited you and miguel to the parent-conference you come to find out that your daughter had gotten a B- in spanish. the principal was going over every little detail and showing gabriella’s transcripts—all her grades were perfect except spanish.

you being the calm and collected mother found it pretty hilarious—ironic even. you were born and raised by a mexican mother and an african american father but your first language was spanish. while miguel, was irish-mexican being fluent in spanish and of course in english. both being bilingual parents you taught gabriella both of best worlds and it did stick with her. maybe it was the fact she may have struggled on the expressive part of the language rather than receptive aspect of it. you side glanced at gabriella who was nervously smiling at you and miguel; miguel had concern etched all over his face and flabbergasted to say the least.

you gently squeezed gabriella’s hand and whispered, “it’s okay mija! just try to study more next time. i’m sure you’ll do great.” you were always an encouraging mother but miguel seemed to be slighting twitching in his seat. “what do you mean you got a B- in spanish, gabriella?” he leaned forward to meet gabriella’s gaze while she played with the straps of her backpack as she slightly bounced her leg up and down.

“i just did, perro pa no te preocupes, por favor.” she tried to calm down miguel who was taken aback to his own daughter receiving a B- in spanish. how could she? he thought to himself as he always did try to speak more spanish to her and teach her every now and then. honestly, it was more often that he spoke spanish to his wife and daughter, then in english. miguel calmed down a bit and fixed his glasses that were sliding off the bridge of his big nose. he leaned back letting the chair take in all his frustrations and worries. he inhaled and exhaled a couple times then nodded, “okay gabriella. it’s fine, just like your mother say just study next time,” he patted her head gently with a small smile cracking in the corner of his lips. you nodded happily that miguel, you husband, was understanding. everyone is not perfect and it’s okay to make mistakes. we all can learn from the mistakes we make no matter how big or small they are.

“gabriella, mi amor, grades are just one reflection of our abilities. you are so much more than a letter on a report card. your worth is not defined by a single grade,” you spoke up as miguel and you were holding gabriella’s hand, giving your own daughter words of encouragement. miguel decided to take it upon himself to sit his daughter down and go over spanish. it was a team effort, and you knew miguel could never stay mad forever at his only precious daughter.

"haitham! stop rummaging through my papers!" you squeak when he attempts to help you, mentally face palming yourself.

after you and alhaitham’s graduation, you’d decided that you would work in sumeru, with the special occasions of helping out alhaitham too.

"cyno! stop kicking sand onto me!" you laughed, trying not to get sand in your eyes as you were cleaning up the eremites' base.

“where’s tighnari?” you suddenly ask.

"he's on his way, he was dehydrated not too long ago until scaramouche gave him water," he replied, thinking back to the time he had to hand over the water that scaramouche gave him to tighnari who could barely even stand, breathing heavier than usual.

after that, he knew tighnari would take longer than expected to come visit both of you.

scaramouche, having just obtained the crown and lost it, he was more unmotivated than usual so you all knew that he wasn't going to come, considering how stubborn he was and how he refused requests almost all the time.

...and of course, kaveh was stressed out again.

after months and months, here you were, wking on the streets of inazuma with none other than kaveh, alhaitham’s stubborn roommate.

“do you know when you’ll be able to go back to sumeru?” kaveh suddenly asks you, to which you whipped your head to the left to look at him.

“erm… well, i did tell him that i’d have to leave one day but,” you paused, “he didn’t… understand.”

“what do you mean?” kaveh questioned with a gasp to which you let out a small laugh about.

“well, i told him a year ago that one day i’d have to leave and he instantly thought it was about you coming over so i would have to leave,” you replied, trying your best to explain to alhaitham’s blonde friend.

“well i guess that’s just how life works,” kaveh sighed, trying to attempt an emotional facade.

you laughed again.

ever since that day, you’ve met some people along the way of your journey back in your hometown, inazuma.

the summer shade of inazuma under certain sakura trees caught your attention when you were walking with ayaka.

the sight reminded you of how things would go downhill but alhaitham was always there with you.

the shade representing your emotions, and the petals representing alhaitham being by your side.

you thought it was cheesy, letting out a small giggle from it to which ayaka questioned you about.

she was the girl who had always thought you were different from any other person in inazuma, since you’ve never told her that you were previously in sumeru for a long period of time.

you looked over to her, your view meeting her confused face.

“…ayaka, i’m fine,” your weary tone of voice spoke.

“…right.”

and ever since that day, you and alhaitham always called over any devices that ayaka and thoma made for you.

thoma, having always practiced forging with ayato, has taken a very long time trying to make certain souvenirs for you and other trinkets.

you could never thank him enough for the device that he made for you in order to call alhaitham.

however, you never told thoma that you were in a relationship with a man from sumeru.

so when you told him, he was shocked.

to say the least.

im a honky ass white girl who's never watched any chinese cinema before apart from some wong kar-wai films - and I had never seen any chinese television! - but im superrrr into sci-fi, so that's how i ended up reading three-body. only found out about the tencent adaptation / cdrama last week!! I started watching it with engsubs just out of curiosity... it's soooo much better than the netflix adaptation wtf. like it's not even close!!! the respect for source material and the fact the cdrama actually improves on the book by fleshing out the characters more?? im losing my mind. netflix could never.

hello friend! thank you so much for sending in this ask! i'm so glad that people who are not familiar with cdramas can still enjoy tencent's three-body <3! and you are so right about the characters in this adaptation even liu cixin himself thought so:

so if you already like wang miao from the novel, you have to try this tv adaptation!!! every other main character is well rounded too. and the decision to add a lot more to the relationship development between shi qiang and wang miao is a wise choice as well (shiwang 5ever indeed!!!). it is something that is not very focused on in the novel, but it totally makes sense, and it's a lot better than adding any other types of relationship to other characters.

also thank you for liking my content and the encouragement! i'll try my best. sometimes it's really hard for me to deal with a tiny fandom xD, and i'd take breaks before i'm mentally strong enough to post again, but i'm glad to see that some old fans are active again and we are getting new fans! i really hope that more international viewers will get into this show, and maybe there'd be more english shiwang fanfics.

Are you from an english speaking country? I've seen you posts about kaamelott and that's so fun to see other people than french ones knowing the show

Yeah! I was introduced to kaamelott a few months ago. Im doing a rewatch coz i skipped livre 2 and livre 3 when i first watched the whole thing (livre 1 up to kaamelott premier volet). The english subtitles for livre 2-3 on YT aren't in synch, you know? Therefore i also missed much of how the plot developed. i'm trying to fix that. XD

It's a great series. I like

the characters -solid characterization. They are all flawed and geniuses in their own right, they all have fascinating but subtle character arcs that spread out neatly;

The costume design - multiple costumes and very colorful and smart;

the rapid but witty dialogue - believe me i dont understand any french but the delivery, facial expression and acting translates very well;

Camerawork - i like the early skit format (livre 1-3) and also the way production levelled up (esp in livre 4-6);

Adherence to the legends - im currently finding out how indeed this show is very thomas malory coded;

The comedy - it reminds me of the stuff i grew up with, the crass and unapologetic nature of it. The Comedic timing is perfect too;

The Plot - because there are a lot of scenes that made me laugh my ass off, the serious ones give me a gut punch and i can never get em out of my mind. The gag and shtpost nature of it enhances the story.

A lot of ppl have pointed me to resources on how to get english translations and im still trying to move past the free content provide by the official youtube channel. (The fandom has been very kind to me)

I wish i could understand french coz im fascinated with astier's work process and how he's on every aspect on this thing. i know he explains some stuff in a lot of YT clips. Too bad i can never deep dive into them since I dont understand french lol.

Anyhow, yeah! Kaamelott is great! Alexandre Astier and his family and coworkers did a superb job on it. Can't wait for more!
