I’m losing my fucking mind there’s a whole god damn online database full of illustrations for illuminated manuscripts, you don’t need a subscription or anything. And it has a search function so you can enter key words for whatever you want to see. Right now I’m looking for fucked up illustrations of the apocalypse in Revelations, like so;

If you click the images on the website they come out super high def too. They also have a couple bestiaries, as well as some illustrations of the Divine Comedy. This is my new best friend I’m so fucking excited

As I approach a half-century of age, I have to say FUCK SEALED BEAMS. You'd be better off with carbide lamps - they'd illumimate the road better than fucking sealed beams.

There's nothing wrong with replaceable halogens or even properly designed LEDs. The problem with most LEDs is that people are buying aftermarket bulbs which specifically say they are not DOT approved for on-road use (off-road use only) and putting them into their cars.

And if you think sealed beams are going to magically put all their light on the road, you've never actually changed them and had to re-aim them because you had to disassemble the entire fixture to change one. Fuck sealed beams, long live the 900x bulbs.

I hate bright ass fucking LED headlights or whatever the hell they are

So, I've watched The Grinch trailer and...eh. I still find the character design on the unappealing side, like wow do I not like it but overall the trailer is just really lame.

anyways i'm at the scarborough rt station right now and it's making me feel some kinda way

Usually i'm here and i'm like meh, same old same old, been here a thousand times before. But now it's dark outside and there's delicate flurries of snow blowing around in the wind, rendering the world in shades of hazy white

Because the platform is on the second floor, i look out in the direction my train is supposed to come from and the tracks disappear into nothingness after several metres.

The platform is dark, with little spotlights of yellow where the lights illumimate, and there's scattered groups of people up and down the platform. Not so few as to be unsettling, but a lot less than there usually is on my commute home from work

I hear the sound of my train coming, and i look back out towards the disappearing tracks, and i see its headlights come into view as it slowly makes its way up the incline from ground level

The doors ding open, the automated voice announcing "scarborough town centre station" and i step onboard. We head off, and suddenly the moment is broken. And everything is once again returned to the mundanity of day to day life in toronto
