i've come up with a name for a pern rp plot device: the Inevitable Gold

this is when an entire plot is pointing to and leading to a gold existing and/or doing somrthing that resolves the plot. of course, the prototypal pern plot, Dragonflight, was an Inevitable Gold story. wirenth/prideth was a partial subversion of the Inevitable Gold trope

"oh no! dragons are going extinct / we're down to one weyr!" -> Inevitable Gold

"we don't have a leader, but here's this clutch we're watching" -> Inevitable Gold

"everyone is angry at each other" (admittedly this is weak) -> Inevitable Gold (mom flavor)

"i'm from a rebel group and we need protection from thread" -> Inevitable Gold

"my character is sexually repressed and needs a strong [rest of phrase redacted]" -> Inevitable Female Dragon (Gold if your character is a cis woman, Green if they're anything else, particularly a gay man)
