My favorite? It's hard to say. I never put much focus on aesthetics. If I had to choose, perhaps lavender. It has a wide variety of uses. While it's known for its use in soothing anxiety and stress, it is sometimes used for its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. Some even use it to treat minor burns. I've used in occasionally in my research with varying degrees of success, so take that with a grain of salt. Despite that, it does smell nice and makes for a nice floral tea.
Jiroooo~!! I have some questions for you~!!
Whats your favorite feeling?
Have you ever received flowers?
How do you like to take care of yourself?
How do you feel best loved?
Hello Alli. It's good to see you again. I hope you're feeling better. Something soft and warm is always nice. Should I have something like that nearby, I'll find myself running my fingers on it or bringing it in closer contact. The same can be said for an emotional state as well. Feeling cared for and loved is soothing. The feeling of being with a loved one has differing intensities depending on the person, but it's nice all the same. I have been receiving bouquets of flowers lately. Spider lilies, dahlias, and sunflowers I believe. Not sure who sent them to me though. They've been in my office for awhile and were starting to wilt, so I've bundled them up to be dried. I have them hanging on the office wall now. I probably don't care for myself as much as I should, but I suppose periods of rest are the closest thing. When I have enough free time, I like to sit in my office chair with a good book. Patience. My condition comes with no shortage of problems and the amount of care I need can be, well, a lot. There are many restrictions that come as a result and that can get in the way of many things. I feel loved by those that can understand that and are willing to wait for me.

The difference in pressure from one foot to the other was night and day. Thinking on it, he did tend to lean on his right foot more when he was standing... Much like the tougher knots on his back, the pain leaves as quickly as it came. A sharp inhale turning into a relieved sigh as the tension is worked out. Jiro recognizes that click of Yuri's tongue. It was the very same sound preceding the creation of his current skincare regiment. Looks like he was about to get something similar for his feet in the near future. Jiro smiles as their eyes meet. "What a coincidence. I was just thinking of how nice it would be to have a beautiful man in my arms again. Sounds like we might be able to help each other out, no?" He wanted to be as close to his captain as he could, and he had no doubt Yuri wanted the same.
Jiro slowly makes his way inside Yuri's office. His eyes are glued to the floor as he approaches with heavy footsteps. He doesn't bother putting the crumpled piece of paper on Yuri's desk like he had planned. The ghoul holds tight to it as he drops to his knees and rests his head on Yuri's lap. There are a few moments of uncomfortable silence before he speaks in a soft voice. "I'm so sorry, Yuri." Whatever is wrong has this powerful ghoul reduced to a scared child awaiting punishment. @ask-jiro-kirisaki
Yuri is overjoyed to see Jiro at first, but his expression is darker and wearier than usual. Then he collapses and if you ask later Yuri will deny the squawked cry, "Jiro!" The ghoul rests his head in Yuri's lap and the doctor almost huffs searching him for any kind of injury or signs of illness, running his fingers through his hair. No head injuries, no scratches, no cuts...he's running a slight fever but it doesn't seem to be concernedly high.
"Jiro...." he sighs, "what happened? What did you find? Talk to me. Please, Jiro..."

Jiro completely understands Akira's sentiment. Sometimes all it takes is one person to change the trajectory of your life completely, for better or worse. Dealing with the institute was often a depressing and frustrating state of affairs. Even they sometimes struggle to get the materials and funding they need for Mortkranken, having to go through layers of red tape to even ask for funding. At least under the guise of educational experience, Nakami would have better luck working with Mortkranken's students. "While we'll be doing your physical therapy at Darkwick General, you'll still be working with Mortkranken students. They allow us to use their facilities to treat patients when necessary. As for nutrition, Yuri will be in charge of that - or at least he'll be able to find a student that specializes in that particular field." He pauses a moment to make sure they follow, then continues. "We've been instructed to supply your medications as well. I want you to be aware that there may be some changes as we continue to research your condition. When that happens, we'll keep you overnight for observation so we can see if any immediate adjustments need to be made. Should something come up, we're available around the clock. There's always someone working in the lab."
Nakami appears to grow weary as the conversation goes on. "I have a few more questions, but if you need to rest, you're more than welcome to." He gestures to a curtained-off area in the room. "Feel free to make use of the bed for as long as you need to."
Nakami walks into the Mortkranken waiting room, head and shoulders held high, graceful, ignoring the extra strain it placed on his body even as his gaunt face belied his condition. Akira follows, worried at the way Nakami was forcing his posture through his pain but trusting and respecting his wishes not to fuss over him in public. Nakami moves toward a seat, but notices a towering figure looking over a clipboard in the corner.
"Ah. Jiro?" He steps closer, offering the boy a polite smile. "I'm Nakami Furukawa. You likely don't know me, I don't believe we ever interacted after you were brought out of your coma, and we only crossed paths a couple of times before then. It's a bit unorthodox, but I'm a graduate. The graduated upperclassmen of your house, worked with me, while I was still here, so my files should still be on-hand. I expected my checkup to be with Darkwick General, but Nicolas said they were rather inundated at the moment, and that, ah, studying me would likely be of interest to you and your captain." The word 'studying' leaves a bitter taste on his tongue, not-so-fond memories of previous Mortkranken visits flooding him. "I have an anomalous illness, for lack of a better term. It's chronic, and seems to be terminal. Attempts thus far to properly diagnose and cure it have proven futile, though I receive bi-weekly treatments and a slew of prescriptions to help my condition."
He gives Jiro another smile, his eyes a little sad, though he didn't hesitate or beat around the bush about his prognosis. "I don't expect progress anymore, honestly; the check-ups are just necessary now to track my condition and any new developments."
( @hotarubi-alums )
The Vice-Captain looks over the pair that have entered his office. They seem to recognize him, but he has no recollection of them. "Well, if you know about my previous condition, then I suppose I can't really deny that you at least knew of me. I can't say I recognize you though. Please don't take it personally. I've suffered a great deal of memory loss." Then it's immediately back to business. Jiro takes a moment to check his schedule. Sure enough, he had forgotten that Professor Nicholas told him about this. It was no wonder there were names on the list he didn't recognize. "Ah. Yes. There's been an incident at Darkwick General recently. I'm sure you've already heard about the patient that ingested mermaid flesh. Please. Have a seat and I'll be with you shortly." It takes some time for him to read through the extensive medical file. He would hazard a guess it rivalled his own. "Yuri - Mortkranken's Captain - will be the one working on developing any treatments. I lack the necessary qualifications. As such, I have been put in charge with your checkups. You'll probably be seeing me more than anyone else here." He looks over at Akira. "Just a formality, but what is your relationship to the patient? If you're going to be here, I need to be sure there's no breach of confidential patient information."

They're quite lovely. Adds a nice touch of color to the room. Even dried, the look pleasant.
And I hope the gifter doesn't mind, but I've taken a couple out of each bouquet to give to Towa for his most recent checkup. He was much more cooperative with the promise of a proper treat since he can't eat the lollipops. Now that I know that works, I'll be sure to gather some before his appointments from here on out.

When was the last time you laughed so hard you cried? (or just felt really good afterwards)
Do you have a comfort item? Tell us about it!
What calms you down?
Bath or shower to relax?
I've already answered this one, but I can think of another. During one of our biology courses, we had to dissect anomalous frogs. Some of the student were fine, but seeing some of the more squeamish ones react was too funny. It was hard to keep the scalpel steady while trying not to laugh. Not really. I've never had much of an attachment to items, even as a child. I don't usually get riled up, but there's a song that I heard someone humming occasionally while I was in a coma. I later learned A - That was Yuri and B - The song in question was "Raindrops prelude, by Chopin." On the rare occasion that I get upset, it never fails to help me calm down. ((When he was younger, Taro would play certain songs on his Biwa or tell him stories. Listening to biwa music or recalling those stories don't work as well as they used to.)) Baths to relax. Yuri draws one for me sometimes when I'm not feeling well. Or sometimes we share a warm bath after a long day. I never think to do it for myself, but it is relaxing, I have to admit.

It was a touch embarrassing to admit to himself just what kind of effect Yuri's hands on his thighs had on him. Jiro tried his best to remind himself this was more of a clinical procedure. That much was evident in the way Yuri worked at tense muscle - but the feeling of Yuri's fingers trailing the inside of his leg gave him other ideas. If it were anyone else, he likely wouldn't have this issue. No one could possibly measure up to Yuri's performance. Perhaps this is what he meant when he said 'you've ruined everyone else for me.' As he trails further down his leg, the sensation eases. He would have to make note of this just in case he received any minor injuries on his thighs in the future - or if Yuri ever asks what he wants in bed. He hadn't expected Yuri to continue to his feet either, but the pressure on the arch of his foot was oddly pleasant. "I suppose it would be easier if I flipped over. I can do that." Jiro's eyes are focused on Yuri as he flips onto his back. It might be weird to stare, but he loved to watch Yuri as he worked, admiring all of the different ways his beauty shone through. "You can stop if you need a break," he offers. While the massage feels heavenly, he's already missing the contact with Yuri's body.
Jiro smiles to himself as he feels his captain trail his fingers down his back, having an idea of what was coming. Sure enough, he feels Yuri's hands on his ass. His pulse quickens with the thought of those same hands groping and squeezing where they sat. A breath of a laugh escapes him as he continues his way down to his thighs. Tease, he thinks to himself. He can't deny the tension that Yuri mentioned, but even if it was a convenient excuse to keep touching him, he wasn't about to deny him. Truthfully, Jiro wanted those hands anywhere and everywhere they could reach. He props himself back up on one arm. It was a little easier to angle himself now that Yuri was seated on his legs. "Please. Go ahead." Actual massage or no, he wanted to feel Yuri's hands on his body. It was probably one of his favorite feelings in the world - not that he would tell anyone that. "I'm open to whatever treatment you deem necessary." Jiro throws in a playful wink for good measure, even though he's not sure Yuri even saw it. He settles back in to let his beloved doctor continue his work.

Jiro is no stranger to bizarre medical conditions. He had quite the odd assortment of his own - though he recently discovered they were self-inflicted. This man, on the other hand, was simply dealt a bad hand - forced to live in a body that refused to work properly. "I can see why there has been difficulty in finding a treatment. My condolences." He wasn't about to sugarcoat matters - not that he was one to ever beat around the bush. "I can't promise that we'll find a cure, but we'll do what we can." He puts the folder to the side. "I don't want to get your hopes up, but I can tell you this much - You're in good hands here. Yuri is the sort of man to never give up on a patient if there's a chance. It's only because of that determination that I'm here speaking with you today. While others deemed me a lost cause, Yuri persisted. While I'm still dealing with complications, he's working towards a cure. So far, in the span of just a few months, he's made excellent progress." He looks between the two men and smiles. "I'm not just saying that because he's my partner. He can be -" a pause "- a lot to deal with at times, but I can guarantee he'll give you one hundred percent." He turns his attention to Akira. "I don't think I need to tell you this, but I speak as both a medical professional and a patient with a serious condition - The prognosis is often better with support. I can't speak for Nakami exactly, but through my own experiences, having that level of love, care, and support has done more for my mental well being than anything else. Even if you don't think you're doing much, just sticking around when things get tough means the world." He stops himself before he starts to ramble unnecessarily. "In other words, I have a desire to thank you for supporting your partner. I recognize it can be difficult to deal with. It's probably more than most can handle. But it eases my mind that you've come along for this appointment at the very least."
Just the other day, I had to wheel in a corpse from the morgue for a demonstration. My attendance wasn't mandatory, but I like to stick around just in case Yuri needs me for something. The way the general students screamed when the corpse made a sound was hilarious. Some gasses had escaped, but they were acting like it had come back to life. Hopefully they'll remember that can happen in the future. I have not. ((If he could remember his first year, he would mention times when Zenji insisted the letter was for him because they used "Kirisaki" and not "Kotodama," but he wasn't convinced.)) It's hard to say. Most things I've done are just me doing my job. Sometimes things work out in my favor. For example, I've made a medication from an anomalous plant that can only survive in extremely low temperatures. Pretty sure that was just a coincidence.

Everything Yuri does during Jiro's treatments is like clockwork. Prepping the materials, offering a warning of something potentially unpleasant, then setting to work, softly humming some kind of tune all the while. Although this isn't a treatment in the traditional sense, the same pattern follows, only this time, Jiro is able to enjoy every moment. He sighs contentedly at the contact, practically melting under Yuri's hands. The ghoul does nothing to stop the pleased noises escaping him. A hum here. A sigh there. The occasional grunt when Yuri works out a knot. On the rare occasion his ministrations bring a sharp inhale or a hiss, his captain stills. Respecting Yuri's wishes, he takes a moment to assess before reassuring, "I'm okay. Keep going." Well into the process, Jiro is putty in Yuri's hands. Any residual tension has dissipated. His worries and stress from when he walked into Yuri's office were felt like a distant memory. There was only the love and care in every calculated motion.
Vice-Captain Kirisaki, I wanted to thank you for helping me out yesterday. I heard that you enjoy reading so I hope you don't mind me giving you this
Yichén presents Jiro with a book on mycology.
I-if you don't like mushrooms, I could return it and get a different book for you. Assuming you'd want to receive a book from me, that is.... I'm sorry for bothering you...
Jiro gratefully accepts the gift. "Thank you. While it isn't my usual topic of study, this information could come in handy - especially with the sorts of things some of the Jabberwock students get into. I do have to give their captain credit though. The number of patients coming in for consuming toxics substances has gone down recently."

I mean, it's my job to look out for the health and well-being of the other students, but you're also my friend. I want to be sure you're okay. I'm sure you're tired of rest by now, but there's really no other way in this case. You haven't lost enough to need a transfusion, but you've lost enough to make being upright a little challenging. So long as you keep taking care of yourself the way you are, you should be fine by morning.
I wanted to go hang out with my favorite medical students in Mortkranken today... but every time I stand up, I feel like I'm gonna faint and then I sit back down. I've been stuck in the cycle for hours....
