Mun had a thought that if/when their relationship does turn physical, Jiro might deliberately try to wear Yuri out just to guarantee he stays in bed and rests up properly. Getting extra physical time and affection and possibly cuddle time in bed with Yuri is just a side-effect of his goal of making sure Yuri sleeps.

We are a force of nature here to tear out the heartstrings of fans everywhere. I love my Mortkranken duo and I want them to be happy, but... I live for the drama. HURT ME MORE! Speaking of... It's a good thing Jiro doesn't remember what happened. If we combine our ideas and make this true, it would just tear Yuri to pieces if he found out Jiro did that to himself. I posted the fic, but it was written under the assumption that they weren't really acquainted yet. I might have to write an alternative to part two. I love the delicious food you're providing.

Do you ever think about how much trauma the Clash and what happened to Jiro and Zenji must have brought Yuri?

He almost definitely transferred from Frostheim to Mortkranken for the sole purpose of caring for Jiro. But Zenji was Jiro's older brother. If Yuri knew Jiro before the Clash, he had to have known Zenji, even vaguely.

What if there was a terrible consideration and Yuri could only save one? What if Zenji's death weighs heavily on Yuri as a failure on his part, a dark mark on his record as a doctor? Sure people can TELL him he can't be blamed, he was only a first year and he wasn't even in Mortkranken at the time

but he definitely blames himself.

If he'd had more resources, if he'd acted faster, if he had more help, if he'd had the RIGHT goals from the start and was in Mortkranken from the START maybe he could have saved them both! And he's not entirely certain he saved Jiro; he's haunted by the idea that he did such a shitty job that one day Jiro could just not wake up.

And what would Zenji say if he could see Yuri now? Would he know or appreciate how tirelessly Yuri works every day to save and restore Jiro? Would he be mad about Yuri not saving him?

Yuri is under a lot of pressure and a tremendous amount of it comes solely from himself.

The headcannon I have for the RP server I'm on hinges a lot on Jiro not knowing Yuri beforehand, which is what makes his stupid decision to try to join his brother even cross his mind. He was alone. So completely alone. This offers a better chance for him. If he has even one person on his side, there's no reason to try. Plus, in this instance, it's due to the clash entirely and not the aftermath. That headcannon stays on that server. I'm subscribing to this one here on Tumblr. While my heart breaks for Yuri, it's a better outcome for Jiro. I'll post the drabble I wrote about it on my main account once I figure out how to add cuts and spoiler/trigger warnings.

Jiro has listened to biwa music during times when sleep eluded him, or when the ghost of anxiety tugged at the back of his mind. It helped a little, but there was always something missing. Perhaps he was just attuned to something Zenji always managed to deliver with his performances.

This biwa though... the music it played filled something within him he was only acutely aware he was missing. He could feel his body relax as he listened, a smile creeping up on his face.

He closed his eyes as vague memories played in his mind. Although he had no memory of the previous year, something about this felt right - like everything is as it should be. He could see himself sitting under a tree with a book in hand. He would glance up from the pages to the man sitting next to him, strumming away...

And all was right with the world.

I've heard a sentient doll and a floating biwa have joined your ranks here. I have no intention of beinging them back for study, mind you. I was just curious is all.

I've seen the biwa on campus. It seems to enjoy entertaining the students. I rather enjoy its performances, so it's a nice treat to run into it. The doll, I haven't seen yet, but I haven't heard anything bad about it either, other than being creepy I suppose. People startle so easy.

Jiro stops when he hears the familiar sound of a biwa. "Ah. This must be the anomaly I've heard so much about."

He walks up to the floating instrument and inspects it carefully. Something about it struck him as familiar, but he couldn't quite place it. He just assumes it's because that was his brother's instrument of choice.

He feels a bit silly talking to a biwa, but anomalies such as these have understood speech in the past. "I hope you don't mind if I listen for awhile. Such music is... a bit of a comfort for me."

He takes a seat on the ground nearby, "Please don't worry about me. I only wish to observe."

I imagine he makes a special exception for Jiro because of the feels AND because he can make quips about the best assistants being able to excel in all things. (A headcannon I have purely as a joke and nothing else: "FINE! If I can't find someone that appreciates me, I'll MAKE someone that will!")
