Starring…??;; König x AMAB reader
Genre…??;; Smut
Warnings…??;; Doggy style (implied missionary), Auralism kink (look it up.), Possessiveness (?), Marking, Spanking, Daddy kink, Multiple Orgasms, Sub König .
König always made pretty noises every time you fucked him, the noises he would make only made you want to fuck him harder, faster.
So thats why you're here now, König laying on his stomach while desperately holding onto a pillow as you rammed your cock in and out of his eager hole.
dark marks like hickeys trailed all down his body, from his shoulder to his hips and all the way down to his legs. You raised your hand up and slammed it back down on his ass, watching the fat ripple and the red mark of your handprint appear.
König’s body convulsed as he was pushed further into the mattress with your rough thrust, hole clenching around your fat cock, loud pretty moans leaving his mouth.
“ You sound so pretty .. All for me , Yeah? ” you said, the words sending shivers down his spine as a deep moan was pulled from his throat, cock repeatedly jabbing at his prostate.
“ For you .. All for you , Vati—mghh ” (Daddy) König cut himself off with a guttural moan, cock shooting out cum down onto the dirty cum soaked white sheets. Your hands gently slid down his back, his body arched into your touch as you placed your hand back onto his ass, giving it another hard smack.
a few more loud smack sounds filled the room before you pulled his hips flush to yours, emptying your cum deep inside his greedy whole for the nth time.
You swiftly pulled out of him which made him let out a low whine, König was getting ready to complain and ask why you pulled out but before he could even look over his shoulder he felt himself getting flipped out onto his back.
König let out a gasp at the sudden movement, watching as his legs were thrown over your shoulders, feeling your thick cock slipping back inside his tight hole.
Chants of the name “Daddy” left his mouth, his hand searching to hold yours as his other gripped the pillow behind his head, throwing his head back as his eyes rolled back into his head, those pretty noises leaving König’s mouth as your dick repeatedly hit his sweet spot.

What were you thinking when you added bigfoot as a datable? Like his route is great and I love him but what led to you thinking "Need another emotional story for my cryptid phone game.... sasquatch"
Dialtown is, in essence, the amalgam of like 10 scrapped/unpublished projects rolled into one. while most of the datables were created for DT specifically, characters like Crown, Milt, Gingi, Mingus, even Stabby/Shooty and the Narrator were lifted from scrapped projects I've had on the backburner for the whole time I worked on DSaF and when I finished making that series, I had a challenge in figuring out which idea was 'the one'. In the end, I wound up going through each story, taking out the bits i felt were strongest or could function well in a larger story, modified them and built off what I ended up with.
One of those scrapped projects was a cryptid dating sim where you played as various iconic cryptids with unique needs/drawbacks.
Bigfoot was on the docket for that project and while most of the ideas in the project weren't exactly realized in Dialtown (a few are implied to be canon in DT's universe through the writing), Bigfoot's appearance is very authentic to what I had in mind for that character, minus the object head.
It's therefore just as accurate to depict me creating a phone dating sim around bigfoot as it is to say that i inserted bigfoot into a phone dating sim since i was teasing doing something with the character before i decided what the game was gonna be. many of the project drafts i had/almost made around this time involve bigfoot in some shape or form. He's even canon to DSaF and explicitly mentioned in 3, a detail people sometimes forget, with a pretty massive reference to that appearance alongside his DT appearance.
Bigfoot's presence was always in my work. a soothing and distant source of comfort. thank you.

I can mostly confidently say, that I found my peace with this being Daniels last race, because he has so many things going on for him. Also fuck toxic work places.
BUT with that said, I cannot imagine RB fucking up that badly with the sponsors and the marketing value.
Like people say he is there for PR, Daniel Ricciards LAST RACE could be THE PR event. They could milk it to the gods. Merchandise, fan events, sponsors getting photo/pr opportunities, people watching to see his last race and support him. Like the opportunities lost are insane. Also HUGO just published a big campaign and there is still the Visa Cash App crying guy. And America is basically Ricciardos second home race. Like not letting him race one last time in Austin and Vegas is just stupid.
Adding to that, implying it's Daniels last race could potentially avoid a penalty and is a valid argument for getting fastest lap.
Another thing, Horner "saving" Ricciardo is like his one good quality and I think his public persona would take severe damage if that's really the case.
Like all the "old' journalists saying, they always knew. How? Because how can they know, if the people directly involved don't even know.
So even though I found my peace, I would be so surprised if that's really it.
EXACTLYYYY
Because quite literally, its all down to money and marketing. And Daniel Joseph Ricciardo is a marketing gold mine.
LITERALLY. To quote a post I did years ago F1's popularity soared because of Daniel. Yes Schumy was pretty much a household name, yes Lewis has been known in pop culture for forever. All of these other drivers who've crossed over have done things for the sport but they were all niche. Theres a lot of people who only know Lewis' name because they saw him at the Met Gala, theres a bunch of people who only know Schumy because he was The Stig on Top Gear.
DTS never would have happened without Daniel signing on first. Fact. The producers have said this. Daniel Ricciardo is the first voice and then face you are introduced to in S1E1.
As you so so eloquently said, Daniel's retirement will be a literal event in itself. That every track is gonna want to profit off of. You think the AUS GP wouldn't want to deck Albert Park in Daniel's face and smile one last time??? You think COTA won't try to get this man to drive in in that longhorn convertible?
Let us be for fucking real for one second. If ONLY for the marketing value and money of it all, this cannot be it. Not when RBR worked so hard to cultivate that prodigal son narrative and their Daniel Ricciardo Rehab Program. for them to dash it all away like this?? with some butter finger style clumsiness?
I don't know whats going to happen but marketing wise, PR wise, business wise? that can't have been 'it'.
full disclosure, I haven't made peace with shit. so if that was his last race then expect like the angstiest fics ive ever written. And thats a threat. (I've been holding off on delving into a 'something in the orange' vibe fic for months now)

hey so if dark fountains causes objects to come to life, where do the objects in the dark worlds come from? I've been mulling over the chair page from the spamton sweepstakes in my head and I have some interesting ideas I wanna put down for me to reference later, like my layer theory last time.
So, one thing's for certain, the ferris wheel in Cyber World was created from the poster on the back wall. We don't know if the ferris wheel was alive but i'm willing to place a safe bet that it wasn't. If tangible objects become living things, then by all means that poster should have become a sort of living object with a ferris wheel theme, but that's not what happened, we got a ferris wheel instead.
furthermore, kris's sword is a pencil and susie's axe is heavily implied to be a hairbrush, so those are also objects that remained objects but changed form rather than coming to life upon entering the dark fountain. I'm trying to dig at this and figure out these two rules:
What determines if an object comes to life or becomes a different object?
What determines what object something will become when exposed to a dark fountain if it isn't going to come to life?
For Spamton's EX body and the ferris wheel, both of those were images of the things they eventually became in the dark world. From these two i could see the both rules being something akin to: objects that just refer to another object become that object in a dark world. So an image of a ferris wheel, referring to a ferris wheel, would simply become a ferris wheel in a dark world. but that instantly excludes the pencil and hairbrush as these are standalone objects that make no reference to anything [subject to change as chapters get released obviously].
So, i just took a 10 minute detour to look up some stuff and it seems like Kris starts the game with the pencil equipped in their weapon slot and I think that's all I really needed to know: the pencil has an association with being a weapon b/c it's equipped to kris's weapon slot. If you're talking about the pencil in deltarune you're referring to kris's weapon... so the pencil, being a reference to a weapon, becomes a weapon in the dark world.
I'm going to assume that this is how the rules work going forward in this post. If an object refers to something, it becomes that thing in the dark world. What i really want to know using this information is multifold:
If my layer theory is correct, would a picture of a something in the real world become that thing in the light world, then come to life in the dark world?
What happens if something in the dark world dies and thus becomes a non-living object?
What happens if you create an object that refers to something in a dark world? What does it become when brought to the light world?
...what happens if you inject DT into an object in a dark world to bring it to life? What does it become when brought into the light world?
We know what happens when something living is exposed to a dark fountain, it gets smaller and changes aesthetically, but otherwise remains the same person. If you were to go one layer up from that living being you'd end up with the object form of that being. For Spamton it's spam mail, for Susie it's the code that makes her function. Assumedly, one layer above that would have to be an object that makes reference to that, so in spamton's case it would be the code that lets you examine the spam emails that became spamton.
... so what of the case of berdly in the weird route?
He's either frozen to death or encased in ice when you close the fountain. If he died and thus became an object, his light world counterpart would be an object that refers to berdly's frozen body. If he was just encased in the ice, not dead but just unconscious, then we would have to determine if the ice itself is in reference to something. If not, then it would become an object that refers to the icy crystal. if the icy crystal IS an object that refers to something then it would become something else entirely in the light world, something we don't know about. It could be reasonably argued that the crystal is snow that is a grave, it is an ice crystal that refers to a grave.
Over the course of the last week i've been trying to figure out what objects that become other objects when moved down a layer become when moved up a layer. in berdly's case it seems like the next step up is a concept. The ice crystal that refers to a grave becomes the idea that berdly's current state is like being frozen in a death-like state. it's a conceptual ice prison that he's stuck in.
If this is the case then the flow would be concept > object that refers to something > object previously referred to > living object > smaller living object with aesthetic differences > repeat previous.
Theoretically, the Angel is a concept that's spoken frequently about in game, in even the light world. Therefor, if a dark world were to be created somewhere in or around the church, you might find an object that refers to the angel, like a scripture or tome, then if you were to somehow go down a layer further... into a darker world perhaps... you might find an angel (object). and if you went one layer further down into a yet darker world, you may finally find yourself face to face with The Angel. But that's just a theory, it's not like there's evidence that we might be trying to go a layer deeper and create dark fountains in dark worlds right guys? right?
So, there's a chair here. Or at least, it was a chair before it started to get "darker than dark" according to the lovely chair page from the spamton sweepstakes. This is where my layer theory kinda falls apart a bit, but just needs a bit of expanding. There's more than 3 layers, and they just keep going deeper and deeper getting darker and darker the further down you go. I'd like to think that the fact that the concept to living object pipeline is exactly four layers including the starting one lining up with "dark, darker, yet darker" is perfectly lined up on purpose but there's so little to it that i can't say for sure.
This theory also gets a big tricky if you consider that means that the concept of someone who lives in layer 2 (light world) like asgore would exist as a prevalent concept in layer -1... which could theoretically be true but there's no way to know since i labelled the real world as layer 1. So i think i want to rework my layers, i think. This gargantuan post is as good as any i think.
Layer 1: The Real World
Layer 2: The Code of Deltarune?
Layer 3: ???
Layer 4: The Light World
Layer 5: The Dark Worlds
Layer 6: The Darker Worlds
Layer 7: The Yet Darker Worlds (Angel's Heaven?)
I'd also be willing to wipe off the first two layers at this point and call the ??? layer the code, since that layer is here just to account for the unused text that's letting out a plea for help.
i don't know how to end this and i think i might just edit it later to add on more ideas. so here, have this as it is now! thanks for reading if you did. nya

(The internet circles I am in talk about her father supporting the Brazilian fascist Bolsonaro, as well as her liking her father's post referring to the Black/mixed race driver on the grid using a racial slur, and Max supporting the PR statement released about that. But I am not talking about my beloved mutuals and our anger at white supremacy somehow finding its fucking way in all aspects of the world. I am talking about the girlies who absolutely hate Kelly just for being Max's girlfriend, when there are tons of reasons we really should just not care about them, or the sport at all.) // Kelly isn’t hated because she is simply maxs partner. She is hated because she is racist, fascist, a fat shamer, homophobic; she abandons her daughter constantly, puts her at risk constantly, posted her child naked multiple times when she hasn’t even 1 years old yet; implied she had intercourse with max when he was 18 and she was 27, she was the mistress of another driver who was married (this got confirmed by the ex wife by the way) and Kelly knew about it; blocks people from maxs account, posted comments/liked pictures from maxs account when he was in the car/ accepting an award; plays the victim card when she actually isn’t a victim of anything. The things she is the victim of are actually all things she did and people are calling her out for.
I know nobody who hates Kelly because she is simply maxs girlfriend. They all have at least one reason why they severely dislike her. Choose one from the ones mentioned above. And this is not even the full list why people dislike her.
Thank you for the ask, and the info! This is the first one I've gotten for this blog, and it feels nice to know that some people read the things I write.
I definitely did see most of these reasons presented as points for the Kelly hate in the internet. I did say that I also saw that people disliked her for valid reasons, the same reasons that my IRL friends and I discuss everyday.
However, what I said in the astro post was that I saw in my algorithm, which was a majority of young accounts disliking her for what seemed to be no other reason than repeating the vitriol from others. I'm not telling a stranger on the internet to stop disliking something especially when it's good stuff, but I have been on the internet before most of these accounts were born, I think, and none of the kids these days bother to cite their sources when they repost stuff for old gossipmongers like me to fact-check and trace.
Your FYP might be different than mine. Again, thank you for this ask that, as you said, incompletely lists Kelly Piquet's controversies. But I didn't put the fatshaming, homophobic comments, the less-than-savoury child rearing, the cheating, and the blocking as valid points to hate Kelly in the post because:
Unlike the Bolsonaro one, as well as her dad's racist remarks, I couldn't find a reputable primary source for these controversies, aside from non-mainstream media outlets that reported on them. However, Reddit threads, Twitter/X groups, and F1 gossip pages a la Deuxmoi don't count as primary sources for me, even though I know some of them do have real people who work in those inner circles of the paddock. For the purposes of time, what isn't provided out front, I won't talk about.
(published news articles are technically considered secondary sources, but these do have screenshots of original posts, and the same photos are also presented on a wide range of other reputable news sites who, unlike gossip pages, have a vested interest in not spreading information based on hearsay. so i thought it was safe to say that that data, at least, is correct)
The primary sources for some of these controversies however? I can't find them. Whether the Instagram posts were deleted after the fact, or these accounts happened long before I got into F1 (which again, is only very recently- I still haven't watched DTS or a single race), doesn't matter. I didn't care enough to research about her and their relationship beyond what I needed to know to make the astro post. And I can't judge her by her natal chart, which was basically what I was doing to Max on the astro post, because we don't have a confirmed birth time for her. If I'm going to dislike someone, I want to have all the facts so I don't have to repeat myself again.
While it is completely rational to hate/dislike a person for all the things you listed above, the post was not about that. It was an astro post about two rich white celebrities who I, as a minimum wage earner in a third world country, have the pleasure of mocking. It is my goddess-given right to make silly little speculation posts about these hooligans and their buffoonery on the hooligan-and-buffoonery site.
If I really wanted to be non-problematic, I wouldn't touch F1 in the first place. She is like that, and he likes her like that, and they both are like that, because they are rich white people in a predominantly rich white people sporting world. The controversies are just symptoms of a bigger illness that I don't want to be infected by. I don't need astro, or a list of problematic things they've done in their career, to know that they're not necessarily the stars I should keep looking on.
This is delightful, anon. I might come back to this post after a few months of being in F1 fandom to see if I still feel the same way.

you can pair a Devil Hunter and a Style or a Devil Hunter and another Devil Hunter. All of them can add more colors if you want, you don't have to pick a Style of the same color as your Commander. That's the whole point, so you can really customize it.
Starts at D.
You know what, I had it at 3, and I don't remember why I changed it to 2, but I will change it back.
ETB cost means "there is no window of time between paying the cost and the thing entering the battlefield. even if you cheated it into play, you have to phase out a legendary creature. if you can't do that, then it doesn't enter." you're allowed to be less precise in reminder text, see: Enlist referencing summoning sickness which is not actually a rules term. Also since it doesn't target, they can respond to kill whoever you were going to save with your DT, but you can transform another creature if you have another legendary on the battlefield.
You think so? I mean it is impossible to remove only if you're bleeding yourself to death. And for a Commander deck aggro creatures have to be really, really good. The only other formats would be Legacy and Pauper, and while Death's Shadow would like this, I don't think it would really make a splash in Legacy given what else that deck has. I'll shift it to uncommon, though.
Jester blocks one guy, he can't tap to stop someone from attacking him that turn (since they already did), I don't think he's really more powerful than other goad-enablers.
(already) means "You can't copy the copy you made, since the thing it targets doesn't exist yet and thus you do not already control it." She used to be able to copy multiple times for two mana, and it was redonkulous. Auras are the primary use case, and as implied by the Bestow creatures in her colors also from DMC4, she can copy Bestows to get a token with the Bestowed aura. But the kind of thing Zada likes in terms of "single target spells that get something else neat not directly related to that creature" will also be good for her, though not nearly as degenerate, and she can copy Credo's trigger to make 1/1 shielded guys or copy Agnus's ability to proliferate twice.
I didn't think it was a pie break since it was specifically only for creatures you already had on the battlefield. You still can't bring out something surprising.
So you can't stick your nose in a combat that doesn't involve you, which would make the board math way more complicated.
That is the idea!
He's supposed to be paired with Nico, that's what his precon deck will be -- Nico is the one who builds all his gear in DMC5.
Yeah, because every Empower is someone's Devil Trigger / super mode, Nico's has to be her van, but she's the one driving it so it just is always crewed. Oh, you know what, I can actually give it a crew ability, and then make it get something every time it's crewed, so the more people pile in the more it does.
You can cast it from exile no matter how it got there. It's like Misthollow Griffin. You can also reanimate it, and probably should. V's ability makes it very easy, since V can exile Nightmare to an escape cost; Nightmare is V's ultimate summon and they're designed to work well together but you don't strictly need V to us it.
Good point, I'll change
Do you think it should be changed? Because of the Stylish Ranks, and how you can lose 1 every combat, when you are doing well you will draw a lot of attacks, so you need some really good emergency block buttons.
Karn doesn't let people drive because he's a narc
Just like any other "can't be" effect. If a card effect or SBA says to do something to a creature, and another effect says that thing can't happen, it doesn't happen. It's like Indestructible creatures staying out while they have lethal damage. It doesn't even create an infinite loop like Bog Serpent and Assault Suit: a creature with negative toughness tries to go to the graveyard as a SBA, True Power stops it, SBAs did not cause anything to change, so priority goes to the next player. SBAs will try and fail to kill creatures with 0 toughness or lethal damage after every single action for the rest of the turn, but won't hold up the game. (They used this in the Theros boss battle against Xenagos, it wasn't an official card but it does work in the rules.)
"And he's got that! And that is the end of -- OHHHHHHHHHHH! God Dammit!"
Stylish Ranks say (once per player per combat), first strike and double strike won't double-dip. Multiple attack phases will, though.
yay, I'm glad you're interested, I will post it when I finish them!
the problem of course is there isn't any goddamn deck builder that lets you use custom cards and also allows you to do tyhings like "sort by card type / mana value" that deck builders do, even if just for real cards. tappedout.net has the ability to add custom cards to a deck but what they fail to mention is that once you do, that deck cannot be edited in any way until you take all of them out since it causes errors.
edit: also Quicksilver Style is overcosted because it is a command zone counterspell. same for Royalguard Style.
an entire 125-card set, with new mechanics (Stylish Ranks and Empower, which is a "fixed" Champion), Battles, Sagas, co-op partners, and the goddamn enemy color tango lands why have you not made those yet.
I'll be making up actual deck lists next, using these cards and existing cards to make 100-card preconstructed decks.

outline-like thing i’m writing to further flesh out the Everything’s Fine concept. for context, there’s a really cool undertale AU comic i started reading a couple days after i first came up with the idea, and ‘Everything is fine’ is a recurring phrase at a point in the where everything is not, in fact, fine. also the youtube link goes to that one cr1tikal clip, you know the one. there’s a transcript under the cut.
CENTRAL PREMISE: Post - Weird Route, the entity controlling Kris's SOUL feels awful and desperately tries to atone for the harm they've done in any way they can.
THE EVENING AFTER - At the hospital, Kris attempts to reassure Noelle that it was only a bad dream, and not to worry about it. However, they forgot to take off Noelle's watch, so Noelle isn't exactly convinced. Noelle's finger also still hurts from the Thorn Ring. - Berdly wakes up in the dark closet. BERDLY'S BACK https://youtu.be/sAXZbfLzJUg -WOO YEAH BABY DEFROSTED BERDLY TIME except he's not like a badass with ice powers who wants to kick Kris's/your ass or anything, more like a frostbitten and pissed off nervous wreck. He refused to die with the power of, you guessed, it, determination. Which of course does imply that his ultimate fate will be a bit... melty. I'm going back and forth about whether I want him to die at the end. -There has to be a conversation between him and Noelle where they can just talk about stuff honestly, no more miscommunication, and ends with a long hug. I don't really know how to work it in, given... y'know, everything, but I need the catharsis. [Oh man what if they hug but Berdly has already started to melt and they become fused as a new amalgamate, oh man would that be messed up or what oh MAN i should lean into the Inverted Fate parallels, embrace the name of this concept] -DT Overload Melt Scene- "Berdly smiles." "For the first time in weeks, he feels warm and comfortable." "Everything is going to be okay." MEANWHILE, BACK AT THE RANCH... BY WHICH I MEAN CASTLE TOWN - Lancer, having been asleep for the whole ordeal, doesn't see what the big deal is with Kris and Noelle. Since he's still techniaclly the king of the Card Kingdom, maybe some of his 'subjects' will listen if he orders them to treat his friends nicely. Some darkners are worried for his saftey seeing him palling around with the murder duo. Some are worried that he's also going to start killing. Generally, there is an air of discomfort and it's probably pissing Lancer off and making him sad. Who's gonna fill him in on what happened? QUEEN REGRETS NOTHING AND HAS LEARNED NOTHING - Noelle never stood up to her, so she never internalized the lesson that her plans aren't going to make her happy and that she really doesn't know what's best for her. So, Noelle still has to dodge her everywhere. - Queen still cares a lot about Noelle, and will defend her character against anyone and anything, though the whole sitaution has put her in a bit of a mental tailspin regarding her perceptions of the girl. She knew that Noelle was strong in ways that no one else, not even she knew, but also knew that she could never say no to anyone. She never took into account the fact that there were other authoritive presences in her life, and the idea of Noelle recieving orders from another Lightner scared her more than she wanted to admit to herself. - Meanwhile, King, still sulking in jail, sees Noelle as definitve proof of the inherently careless and cruel nature of Lightners. He and Queen butt heads over that, remembering why they're divorced. (Maybe.)

Are we sure Gaster worked with Sans and Alphys? Sans seems to be from a different dimension - he talks about how he wants to go home again but gave up on it, there are people he can't see anymore, etc. It might be connected to that weird machine in his basement too. However, it is implied he knew Gaster - so perhaps he knew an alternate Gaster? And it's stated by the Followers that a long time passed between Gaster's death and Alphys's hiring, so they may not have known each other either.
oh boy, this one is tricky. i’m of the belief that gaster worked with sans and alphys for a time, but to answer your first question—no, there’s nothing 100% confirming this, but there’s nothing that outright disproves it either. i’ve been researching this like CRAZY for a fic i’m writing, so i’ll try to explain my reasons for thinking this.
my reason to believe that all three knew each other comes primarily from some obscure dialogue from sans and alphys, some of which many people may not have seen. first of all, we know for a fact that sans knows about the amalgamates as well as the concept of determination (a name alphys came up with in the true lab entries.) he directly refers to determination during his judgement, and besides already being familiar with alphys during the pacifist epilogue, he implies knowledge of the amalgamates through some of papyrus’s phonecalls:
(sorry for poor cropping, i made this in a rush lol)
it’s strange that alphys would trust sans with something like this—sans seems to be the ONLY person other than alphys to know of the amalgamates before she revealed the truth. so they’re obviously way closer than we’re able to see through the events of undertale.
and here's what you get when you say “don’t know” to the crush question on mettaton’s quiz:
alphys says outright that she’s researched alternate universes, which is... very interesting.
if we’re to believe that sans came from an alternate universe, this fits right in. we don’t know the circumstances of sans’s weird alternate dimension stuff, but there’s a chance that alphys is aware of it.
also, she apparently believes that there’s someone out there watching her—she might know WAY more than we’re lead to believe. (right after this, mettaton asks for a sign that this person exists—the game pauses for a few seconds and your input is disabled. hmm.)
she also owns blueprints that were presumably made by gaster—the blueprints for the DT extractor. in entry 5 she says, “Using the blueprints, I’ve extracted it [determination] from the human SOULs.” this wording heavily implies that she didn’t design the DT extractor, and the skull shape of the machine itself doesn’t seem to be her style. sans and alphys both own blueprints made by him, so that’s another connection.
ALSO. GASTER MAY HAVE CONTACTED ALPHYS DIRECTLY DURING THE EVENTS OF UNDERTALE. this one is super cool to me and not enough people talk about it. before you enter the true lab, you can check alphys’s garbage can. there’s something pretty interesting in there.
so... who else has what’s described to be “strange handwriting” and talks in all caps? the only other character said to have poor or strange handwriting is alphys (it’s a royal scientist thing, i guess.) and i don’t think alphys wrote this herself...
the connections between sans and gaster are WAY too huge to ignore—i can’t imagine that they didn’t work together in some way. what we know of sans’s weird alternate dimension stuff is too small to say anything concrete (and i’m not even gonna bring up deltarune in this post because oh-fucking-boy), but it’s without a doubt that he at least KNEW gaster. sans has the gaster blasters first of all, seems to possess knowledge that few other characters have, and during his battle says, “our reports showed a massive anomaly in the timespace continuum.” that “our” could refer to gaster, alphys, or both.
and of course, gaster notably says “WHAT DO YOU TWO THINK” during entry 17. considering all this, i like to think those two people are sans and alphys.
as for the long time passing between hiring another royal scientist, we have no measure of how long this time is. “long” could mean 1 year, or it could mean 50—we don’t know what’s normal for royal scientists. we also don’t know how long ago gaster “shattered”, so the stretch of time between alphys working with gaster and being hired as the royal scientist could still be considerable.
there’s a few other things i think are notable but i won’t bring them up now—i might make a much larger post about this, dunno.
BASICALLY, WE DON’T KNOW. but i really like the idea that alphys and sans worked with gaster, and since there’s nothing outright disproving this, i think it’s fun to speculate.
#alphys#sans#gaster#undertale#wait i don't actually know if asks show up in the tags. WHATEVER.#if anyone wants a longer post about this tell me!!#SURVEY PROGRAM#ANALYSIS

undertale theory: Red Souls are unnatural, it’s the Angel’s Power. Chara may have had a Golden Soul
Please read my previous theory post on DT not being the red soul if you haven’t already. tldr; the color gold is repeatedly shown as the color for determination, in the saves, the golden flowers, the heart locket. I ended that post with a discussion on what Red could be, since it’s not determination. I had trouble because it’d have to fit both the pacifist and no-mercy endings equally.
My answer is Red = Power, Gold = Determination. Chara had a Gold Soul that turned into a Red Soul.
Ok, how did I get there? So like, here’s my Tea. SAVE points clearly come in two colors at the very least. The Red soul in UT and DR have the colors gold and white respectively. The first is Determination, the second The Angel’s Power. Why did I say the Angel’s power?
(photo ID: A screenshot of Deltarune, Father Alvin speaks to Kris. He says: “Let the Angel’s power light your way.” end description.)
Let’s buckle up. This is another long one.
I don’t think I need to explain player theory, do I? Yes? I’ll be quick. The combo of a few things. Firstly in this interview Toby explained that:
“I will say that basically, what you're seeing here is not the world of UNDERTALE.“
“...To rephrase that, DELTARUNE's world is a different one. With different characters, that have lived different lives."
Next, there’s Toriel only using fire magic in UT but not in her home in DR. Monsters have graves instead of performing their dust spreading traditions in UT. Humans aren’t feared for their powerful souls while monsters are seen as fragile.
Why bring this up? We don’t know if humans naturally have souls in DR. I’d even argue because souls are the culmination of your entire being, and as it exists as something you use to navigate DR and control Kris + friends with, I’d argue it represents YOU solely.
“At the start of ??????, Kris is a LV1 Human. ‘Body contains a human SOUL.'”
Either the red soul is Kris’ soul changed Red, or it’s a foreign entity taking over their body. I don’t know which fits better, because with the first is the vibe I get from us taking Kris’ previous SAVE point. This action can symbolically represent us taking over their literal body and soul here. Obviously, the red soul put into Kris has to be either Kris’ old soul taken over or brand new, as the description says there’s only A SOUL. Singular.
Now, back to the Angel being connected to the Player. As other smarter people have said, this is the song track that plays when the soul is used to close the Dark Fountain. Simply called, “Your Power.”
(photo ID: Another Deltarune screenshot. Kris and Susie standing at the Dark Fountain, the Red Soul floating upwards to close it. end description)
With the combo of that and SAVEs being the “power of x”, a literal shining light of power, I feel it’s safe to connect all of these together. The Red Soul is You, the player, you use your the emotion of Power to bend time and control Kris. It is “Your Power” through the Soul that you can leave the darkworld. I’d argue that both the Red Soul and the white light are the same Power by all of these being used for both the SAVE point and the red soul.
Now, you could say that this could just be separate from the Red Soul like how Determination is. After all, all humans have determination. Power being the SAVE power in DR doesn’t mean the Red soul also means power. Kris even used the SAVE point before your control, and if you’re the Angel and it’s your light, how come they had it before you came?
Well, to that, I’d argue while we’re the Angel, we might not be the true true Angel. Kris was possessed with the Red Soul before we got there. Gaster had to make or at least connect to the Red Soul at the Vessel creation scene. All these connected themes tie you to the control of the player to the red soul and the word “power.”
More evidence, simply put by Chara in the No-Mercy Run:
“Greetings. I am Thank you.Your power awakened me from death. My 'human soul. 'My 'determination.' They were not mine, but YOURS.”
There are three things Chara says here. Your Power, Your Soul, Your Determination. They’re separated. They’re different things.
“ Why was I brought back to life? You. With your guidance. I realized the purpose of my reincarnation. Power. “
Here’s more emphasis on the word Power and it’s connection to You, the player. Chara is being literal here, your red soul brought them back from the dead.
We know for a fact that Chara’s soul was red at least when they died. The coffin, painted with a red soul, is described with: “ * (It's as comfortable as it looks.) “” And with the artificial nature of Gaster calling onto You to control Kris, I wouldn’t say it’s that far fetched that he’s the reason Chara’s soul color is red now. They lied in the same time period, as Chara had lived in New Home and Gaster lived in Hotland. It’s been a long time since Gaster was the scientist.
(photo ID: Screenshot of Undertale, Frisk stands in front of Gaster Follower #1, a greyscale Goner monster of the orange monster in Hotland. They say: “It makes sense why ASGORE took so long to hire a new Royal Scientist.” end description.)
The game repetitively mentions that Chara died a long time ago.
“ * You're not actually (player name) , are you?* (player name)'s been gone for a long time. “
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that they’re both described this way. At the very least, it’s not a stretch they’d been at the same time period, and had interacted. As Asgore’s trusted royal scientist, tasked with likely trying to find a way to free monsterkind without killing Chara, would of had to studied their soul. And with his very direct connection of connecting to the Player’s Red Soul in DR? It’s Gaster’s doing that they’re red.
We know either Kris didn’t have a Soul or their soul turned red. We see the Red Soul change colors in battle, so we know it’s possible. If it’s the player’s connection that’s brought Chara back, and you play through Chara who influences Frisk, that’s all Red Soul work. Gaster is likely the reason Chara is back from the dead and that we can play Undertale. Bam.
and here’s my last piece of evidence that Chara and Frisk by extension aren’t natural reds either:
(photo ID: The Undertale collector’s edition has a golden heart shaped locket with the deltarune symbol on it’s face. Next to it, a small art booklet with the word “Undertale(tm).” In the logo is a red heart. Below the logo is a gold soul, and below that Frisk falling into a patch of golden flowers. End description)
The locket is Gold. The soul is gold here. Now, maybe it’s only not Red because the art is in sepia gold tones, but the logo still has a red heart. I wouldn’t put it past Toby to have made this as a hint.
and again, there’s no red flower. Only Gold.
(also i am aware someone else has made a similar “red is not natural” soul color theory recently, but I only saw that when researching this and I feel I’m having more to say than just that here so it’s fine? I hope?)
anyway, tldr; the word power is both used to describe the Red Soul and the white SAVE power, it’s heavily connected to the Angel’s power and light. Gaster’s influence in this artificial soul can imply the Red color is unnatural, and he could very well have given Chara this soul color as they lived in the same place/time period and had the means/job to do so.
also anyway I think a Gold Soul would be cute as hell and a cool concept, please feel free to use it. I love to see it

Hordak: The power-hungry Warmonger
I’ve had an interesting chat with someone on Twitter that prompted me to make this whole post. (I had a shitpost TLDR post that sort of sums this up concisely)
This is a very long post so brace yourselves, grab a coffee or some warm tea and lets start!
The premise was that Hordak is unambiguously evil and that even with Horde Prime out of the picture, he’d go back to conquering the planet.
And I quote “That's where you're wrong he would still be doing this, he was so absorbed into gaining more power and conquering etheria he would still doing Prime or no Prime” - his words, not mine.
I pointed out that there is no evidence to support that assumption in the show but someone else added: “ “no evidence of that in the show” did u forget when prime literally pointed out that he was conquering etheria in *his* name and secretly wished prime wouldn’t come??”
That line keeps popping up in a lot of the arguments against Hordak. The specific line is this:
The argument that they (people that hate Hordak) try and make is that Hordak wanted Etheria for himself to rule it as its absolute despot. To... “colonize” it so to speak.
What Hordak did was to wage war on the planet for decades in his misguided crusade to conquer it in Prime’s name. He hurt countless numbers of people and destroyed their homes. That is undeniable, those are his actions. Whatever extenuating circumstances he may have (have a post about that too :D ), he is guilty of being a warmonger and a despot and he created the Etherian Horde then lead it in his bid to conquer Etheria.
There! straight out of the horse’s mouth ^
I don’t agree with the term colonizer that twitter folks keep throwing around a lot. Bear with me for a bit please. I know that it is a term that is heavily loaded for a lot of people.
The argument I make against that specific term is this: In order to colonize a place, you need actual colonists to settle and slowly replace the indigenous population. Colonization has long term effects that can be seen centuries later. If I were to point out colonization in action in SPOP I would point out The First Ones. They are the ones that started settling on Etheria, evidence of their presence is throughout the place in the whole show in the settlement ruins and technology they left behind.
They bound the planet’s magic with their magitech so that the locals couldn’t access it. (Something Shadow Weaver was salty about) Only the First Ones descendants that were connected to the runestones I.E. the princesses have any access to it. The princesses still hold dominion over the planet’s magic millennia later. The natives are relatively powerless and the princesses’ subjects still. It’s worth pointing out that the princesses are despots as well.
That is what colonization does to a place. It takes the power away from the locals and gives it to the colonists so that the latter may thrive, have power over them and in time, replace the natives and erase their culture.
Hordak waged war but despite his background of being a brainwashed cultist he never stifled the individuality of his underlings, he never seemed to care much about them at all as long as they were helping further his goals.
If anything, he’s a weirdly unenthusiastic warlord, as @cruelfeline pointed out in one of her excellent posts.
To quote her post “ And of course now, post-season four, we know that he appears unenthusiastic in his role because he is. His goal was never to be the uncontested Lord of Etheria. He doesn’t gain any real self-respect or satisfaction from having people grovel before him. He was never interested in actually claiming that as his goal, his source of personal achievement and identity: it was all a means to a very sad, very painful end. He doesn’t want to be “Lord Hordak, Ruler of Etheria.” He wants to be “Hordak, second in command to Horde Prime.” He does it all because he needs his brother to accept/respect/love him. “
He is not a kind boss, or a good one by any measure but he doesn’t replicate Prime’s brain erasing technique for whatever reason nor is he a self-absorbed narcissist like his progenitor. The Etherian Horde is made of Etherians, Hordak and his robots.
And notice one thing? Most of those Horde members are not first one descendants. Strange huh?
So long as his underlings serve, they are rewarded. Even if they fail, if the reason for their failure is explained and they do no lie to him (to his face), they are given a chance to redeem themselves. After the defeat at the Battle of Bright Moon, Catra’s loss is rewarded because she had proven her competence.
If I were to liken his actions with anything in the real world, I’d be more inclined to call his war a Crusade in Horde Prime’s name. Prime was his God and Hordak was religiously motivated to do the horrible things he did because his god wanted them. That is what he has been indoctrinated to believe; Noelle said it, not me. He was a brainwashed religious zealot, not a colonizer. This is how he’d get back into his god’s good graces after being born a sinner (defective).
This is how he thought that he would prove that he was worthy of being by his god’s side despite him being disabled, he could still be useful to Prime, he could still serve. If he were useful, he thought that Horde Prime would not throw him away again to die.
Crusaders too believed that, by waging war on Muslims and the Orthodox Constantinople (the fourth crusade), they’d get into Heaven. They were violent and they were terrible but they believed they were doing good in God’s Name and that their actions were necessary. *they were not, and they were terrible*
Back to the “to my will” line. Taken out of the sentence, one could say that he’s conquered Etheria for his own ego and to satisfy his power-trip.
The whole sentence is this: “I’ve conquered this world for you, to show you that I am worthy, so that I may retake my place by your side. I have bent its people to my will.”
He explicitly states that the reason he did it was to serve Horde Prime.
It’s not the first time Hordak has said this. He said it to Catra before. He was not scared and trying to explain his actions to his master then. He was not begging for mercy and acceptance while on his knees.
And Catra understands him, she understands his need to try and prove himself to an authority figure and earn recognition. It’s what she had wanted from Shadow Weaver all along.
She sees herself in him after his little declaration. It’s why she is able to give him this speech in the same episode:
“Get.Over.IT! You don’t need Entrapta. You never did. You don’t need a Princess in your life telling you what to do. Look at what you’ve done without her. You’ve build an army. An empire! You and me, we don’t need anyone. Forget them all. No one matters, nothing matters but this mission. You want to prove yourself, prove your worth? Then do it! You and I are going to conquer Etheria. And then, they’ll all see!”
That is why this line of Catra’s in season 4 finally motivates him to quit moping after Entrapta and actually get some proper conquering done.
He even shows a good tactical understanding on how to wage a war of attrition, a war he could eventually win due to the replaceable nature of his robots, unlike rebellion soldiers.
Without DT’s interference and without the needless pushing their soldiers over their limits (causing mass desertions under Catra’s command), Hordak would have eventually won. Slow and steady would have won him the race but Catra wanted faster results.
This is his motivation, the same as Catra’s: to prove his worth. To seek validation and acceptance from a higher authority figure, his master, maker and literal god.
Catra proves herself a kindred soul, she understands his need for validation and his feelings of worthlessness, the harrowing self-hatred both of them endure, and together they amplify their worst tendencies. They go both into a negative spiral in season 4 and yet, they both provide a strange companionship to each other. They form a bond based on their mutual understanding. He even includes her in Horde Prime’s theoretical acknowledgement:
If he had actually wanted to conquer Etheria for himself and rule it, staying in Despondos away from Horde Prime would have given him the perfect opportunity to do so. He’s actually remarkably competent at conquering when he does it himself instead of relegating it to his mooks.
Sea elf village: 10 out of 10 would conquer again XD
What does he do instead? At first he looks for the portal events that appear naturally on the planet’s surface thinking that Horde Prime would come for him (that’s how he found baby Adora - he didn’t steal her. Light Hope lied about that trying to manipulate Adora).
When he becomes aware that Prime might not be able to come for him because of the planet being in a different dimension, he spends most of his time locked away in his sanctum working on a portal device that is supposed to reunite him with Horde Prime.
Why would he do any of that instead of staying on the planet and ruling it for himself if that was his motivation? It makes absolutely no sense for him to do any of that if being the sole ruler of the planet was his intent.
Another line that was brought up was this one:
The time that Prime is referring to is Hordak’s time spent with Entrapta. That’s why the shot lingers on the place her Crystal used to be. The crystal that had LUVD written on in. The scene is being quite specific in implying that this is the time that Horde Prime speaks of:
He is sad to go and leave her. When she mentions that they keep working on it ‘till it’s perfect, he smiles at her in agreement.
That is the only time Hordak even lets himself consider a life without Horde Prime and it doesn’t last long. Once Catra lies to him, the prospect of a life on Etheria with Entrapta is no longer possible. Her message about imperfections being beautiful and of him being intrinsically worthy of life, even without Prime is painted as a deception. Catra convinced him that Entrapta had deceived and used him, that he had been duped all along.
The only path left to him, as far as he knows, is back to his master.
Neither of those lines are in-show irrefutable evidence of his intention to rule the world. One would argue that Horde Prime punished him for his intentions to rule a world by himslef. To that I respond with this:
This is the crime that Horde Prime punished him for: Hordak had dared to become something other than a mindless, indoctrinated, slave; he had asserted his own will and individuality in whatever small way by becoming a person and taking a name.
So Horde Prime nipped in the bud.
If his clones were ever to assert any individuality, will or preference, if they ever stopped serving with blind devotion at a crucial point, they could become a threat to him.
He was right of course:
Hordak shooting Horde Prime whilst the latter was concentrated on hacking The Heart of Etheria was crucial in distracting him from this:
Hordak’s little defiance may have been short lived, since Horde Prime has such disturbing power over his clones and immediately possessed him, but that little distraction was enough to buy precious time and to force Horde Prime to the planet’s surface where Adora could get to him. If he had been defeated whilst in orbit, Prime could just have jumped in the body of any other clone throughout the universe.
Hordak’s actions aided in Prime’s definitive demise.
Another argument against Hordak is his last declaration to Horde Prime.
Hordak’s speech to Prime is not an affirmation of him going back to conquering Etheria. It’s Hordak telling Horde Prime that he’s a person and he has a right to be one, to have his own will.
- You created me to serve you and your will, but I have a right to be more than that.
- I am a person, an individual, I have a name, I am not just a mindless tool. I have lived things in your absence.
- I have experienced unconditional acceptance and affection.
- I am a person and I deserve to have my own thoughts, feelings and my own free will. I defy yours. You are not my master any more.
Nowhere in his speech is it suggested that he’ll go back to conquering. He just wants to be free of Horde Prime. Entrapta is alive and the alternative to a life in servitude to Prime is available again. He chose her over his own God. That is the only choice he made. Not to go back to conquest or kick puppies and orphans. He chose to be in her presence rather than His.
Sadly, he is only free of Horde Prime 3 minutes before the show ends. Any apology for his actions in Prime’s name made in those last 3 minutes would have been half assed and unsatisfying. He has a lot of reparations to make as redemption for his actions. Regardless of the fact that he was indoctrinated, literally programmed since his creation and that is the reason why he did what he did, people were hurt, homes were destroyed and he has to redeem himself for that and make long term reparations. This couldn’t have been believably addressed in the time left. The show-runner Noelle mentioned in one of the Podcasts that he does reparations after the show. I wish that had been part of the series and not an observation after it. Perhaps, seeing that would have quelled some of the vitriol aimed at him. (and at his “stans”- real people getting hate and bullying for the crimes committed against fictional Etherians)
The message of this show is forgiveness, acceptance and redemption. The characters are complex and they all have their respective shades of gray in their characterization (except Horde Prime who is basically Nyarlathotep). I don’t understand why the fandom is so divisive and so intent on pitting them against each other and villainizing one or the other in an attempt to make their own favorite character more morally superior. Can’t we appreciate all of them and the parts they had to play in the story?
Whew! That was one long essay. I am as always, open to discussion on the topic so long as civility is maintained. Have a nice day!
@garnet-xx-rose gets credit for helping me put my thoughts in order and for adding interesting points to the argument. Thank you Garnet!

(portuguese) the feeling of longing for something or someone who you love and which is lost.
t. kei, haikyuu!!
angst, implied polyamory, yamatsukki and yamayachi
wc ; nine hundred and sixty seven words
dt ; @t-amajiki
riyuu says ; ahhh, i haven’t written in a while. i wanted to, but i didn’t have any ideas at all. first time experiencing that, it wasn’t fun. this one got a little..out of hand? it went in unexpected directions but i don’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing. hopefully. i wrote and posted this all in one go, so if there’s any mistakes please let me know haha
another one dedicated to art, more might be coming, who knows. they’re very special and important to me, it’s my way of showing them i love them, more or less.
but, yeah, i hope you enjoy reading it !
for him, it wasn’t the cheesy, cliche reasons for loving. for him, it wasn’t the butterflies or the shy glances and subtle red cheeks, of course not.
for him, it was the quick retorts to his less than kind remarks. it was the swift reprimands when he stepped out of line. it was the patience and effort to try when you didn’t understand him. for him, it was the times when you wouldn’t hesitate, not unlike yamaguchi, to harshly bring him to reality when he was being stupid. for him, it was those small little moments when you would sit with him before a match, sharing earphones and listening to whatever it was that he chose.
for him, it was the look of annoyance that would paint your face whenever you caught him hiding an injury. it was the energy and effort you spent on yelling at him to look after himself. for him, it was the fact that you would buy a cup of coffee for him on the walk home, partially to warm his body and partially to warm his hands.
for him, it was the way you screamed along with him upon blocking ushijima. it was the fact that you weren’t surprised by what he had just achieved, but rather by the fact that he enjoyed and got into what he was doing.
for him, those were his reasons for loving. for loving you, specifically.
he had pondered it, maybe once or twice, the similarities between you and his best friend. sometimes, he even felt as though his attraction to you was purely because you were similar to yamaguchi. it had occurred to him, once or twice, that if things were to work out, which they probably won’t, the three of you could be together. he wouldn’t mind that, surely.
but then he realised that wasn’t the case. he realised that while yamaguchi was often timid yet polite around other people, especially those that intimidated him, you chose to, or rather, you were always open. open in a way that not even ushijima ‘beef balls’ wakatoshi could make your voice waver.
seems as though lev was rubbing off on him.
he didn’t mind, surprisingly, to have someone like lev influence him enough to the point where his nicknames for people were slipping into tsukishima’s own vocabulary.
he didn’t realise how long he had been thinking to himself, for he nearly jolted out of his seat when tanaka plopped down next to him with a loud yell of his name.
“tanaka-san, please don’t yell when you’re in front of my face. i’m already close to going deaf.”
the older boy just chuckled in response, patting the blond’s shoulder and leaning back to chug his drink.
tsukishima let out a sigh, letting his eyes wander across the gym he had become accustomed to, mindlessly picking at his blisters. he never expected himself to stay for so long, nor did he expect to begin enjoying the sport.
but once again, as with a few other things, he found himself not minding the changes in his person.
he could argue that it was just him choosing to not be an asshole every once in a while, but he knew very well that he had started changing the more time he spent with you, and the others, excluding a milk-obsessed freak and a ginger headache.
a loud crash drew his attention immediately, looking towards the door to see that yachi had dropped some of the seemingly heavy boxes she was carrying. he tilted his head to the side, an indescribable expression on his face as he watched yamaguchi hurry over to help her, slipping in an ‘are you okay?’ every two seconds.
ah, right, that was the reason he stopped thinking there could be anything between the three of you.
it was because yamaguchi had become fond of their assistant manager. tsukishima didn’t care much, he was fine with it as long as his friend was happy.
his finger burns.
why does his finger burn?
he looked down to see that he had popped one of his blisters. he narrowed his eyes in irritation as he stood up, you wouldn’t let him hear the end of it if he didn’t get it checked by the nurse.
his new bandages didn’t help much to rival the cold of winter miyagi, and his jacket only reached till his knuckles. he’d just have to wait for the coffee, then, it seemed.
chatter and footsteps approached him, and he furrowed his eyebrows as he heard and felt the dumbass duo walking past him.
“oi, tsukishima! what are you standing at the gates for?” came the orange headache’s voice, to which he didn’t bother responding. he heard the king comment about him “acting weird, why’s he waiting? yamaguchi’s right there.” he chose to ignore it. they should know he’s waiting for you, as he always does.
next came yamaguchi’s voice, to which he actually paid attention as he opened his eyes.
“let’s go, tsukki. there’s this new pastry shop that opened close to my house!” he started, walking past him out the gates.
“sure, in a bit though, they’re not here yet.” he responded, not moving from his place at the gate.
yamaguchi turned, confusion evident on his face.
“who’s not here yet? are you waiting for someone?” he seemed surprised by the implication of his best friend waiting for someone other than him.
tsukishima looked at him with narrowed eyes, not liking what he was playing at.
“i’m waiting for shortie, yamaguchi. why are you acting clueless?”
yamaguchi’s confusion immediately morphed into...conflict? pain, of some sort. pity, maybe?
why was he looking at him like that?
“yamaguchi, what-“
“tsukki, you know they’re not here anymore, right? they’re not going to show up.”

let's not forget that Catra at the end of season 4 STOPS Prime from killing Glimmer by telling him that he needs Glimmer alive, despite the fact that Glimmer had left her to die (and also bought DT's loyalty away), because she saw Glimmer -who grew up in a healthy household- try to FIX her mistake instead of being obsessed with winning no matter the cost. it was her first step in connecting with someone who reminds her of herself
Catra? Learn from someone similar to her but with a healthier childhood? Seems fake but okay.
(heavy sarcasm implied.)
Honestly, I get why people wish more had been done with Catra’s redemption (give us another season or a movie damn it), but what we were given in season five was an amazing start. It started a bit rough what with Catra taking her feelings of worthlessness and instead of trying to prove it wrong just embracing them and sacrificing herself to die, but that was already a step in a slightly better direction from the spiral she had been in since Adora left. And she keeps getting better. Sure, she backslides, because recovery isn’t a straight line - its a twisted mess of shgkdjhgdkfh that sends you back and forth like one of those whip rides, and it sucks, but Catra doesn’t give up. She keeps going back. She forces herself to work with Shadow Weaver despite the trauma Shadow Weaver caused her. She drags Adora back from the dead. I mean, come on. People don’t get better if no one gives them a damn chance.

I’m very excited about dt s3! Enough that I kinda re-hyperfixed on it, and randomly rekindled some old anger about the end of s2. So here’s a rant about the Della / Louie fight I meant to type up ages ago
First: I don’t hate Della at all! I adore her actually and there are a lot of ppl who treat her really awfully for no reason. Yes she fucked up but she suffered for her mistakes and is still working to fix them!! she’s been redeemed and earned the right to parent the boys and they want her in their life so leave her beee
Anyway w/ that outa the way I wanna discuss the fight. Bc as much as I love Della smthn about. A big portion of the situation. Dosnt sit right with me?
Idk. I feel like. Della made an assumption w/ too little information. She says louie’s schemes always hurt the fam- which, a) they don’t, and b) when they do louie freaking fixes his mistakes!!! Which, as someone who has kids like. If my kids fuck up I help them fix their mistakes and shit. And if they do I usually leave it at that
In my mind punishments are for when a child has done something wrong but thinks it’s okay. That’s when they should be grounded.
Like, if Louie had refused to apologize or fix his mistake or even admit it was a bad idea- yeah!! Ground him!!
But he didn’t. He fixed his mistake, and he apologized.
And I think that’s enough? Cus like. That’s how real fucking life works. If you make a mistake and then fix it, that’s a punishment within itself bc you had to put in the work to fix it and shit. No one comes up and like. Fucking punishes you after its been undone
And yeah beakley was right that Della needed to be firm sometimes, but the entire way the whole conflict was set up I can’t stand!!!
Bc that was not the right time to be firm but it’s portrayed like it is!!
In that episode, at least. Bc then literally the next one basically says Della was wrong but she never apologized or anything??? Which is in general my biggest pet peeve w/ parents in general is not apologizing to their kids
Like ok i get storytelling limitations exist. And they needed Louie to be home alone, and for the initial situation to already be resolved. But I feel like a way better way to have done that would have been like:
Louie fucks up somehow w/ a scheme and puts the fam in danger
Della gets big mad / punishes him b4 he can fix it
He uses a scheme to undo the thing / fix his mistake
They have the “I’ll help you see the angles you can’t” convo
Cus then it’s still one scheme which I really feel makes a lot more sense? And it’s not just “one scheme went horribly wrong and another went well’ instead of actually being connected
Also. The fucking vide makes me SO MAD. “Morality is caring about how your actions effect others” Louie has ALWAYS cared about how his schemes effected others?? It’s literally what is the main sepration between him and selfish characters like beaks (and maybe Goldie but that would be a whole ass other post to talk about their differences, similarities and parallels )
Like. Louie sacrifices all his stuff in the harp- be gone. He tries to trade the gift bags to save Goldie. He returns all the expensive ass stuff in timephoon. He always sacrifices whatever scheme or money if others are hurt by it. And he never creates a scheme that hurts people on purpose. It’s always an accident. How tf is that not caring about how your actions affect others??
Oh. And the fucking “if you want a place in in this family you need to stop” ABSOLUTELY makes my blood boil. You should love your kids unconditionally, no matter what and implying their mistakes can make you not love them is fucked up????
Ugh. Usually ducktales has excellent writing but I feel like that whole plot line was either given to someone who hates Della and wanted to make her seem like a bad parent within the subtext, or just was revised so many times due to just general limitations that the intentions were lost
It just. Also feels pretty ooc for Della to be that mean?? Tf?? I’m gonna just. Assume that the plot went through so many revisions it got fucked up, and just like accept that sometimes that happens lol. I still love Della and am mostly just annoyed by the writers lol. Though I still adore the show and think the writers are excellent for the most part
Sorry this is so negative right before the s3 premiere lol?? 😂 I should have posted it when the eps actually came out, but for some reason I couldn’t really articulate my thoughts until now. And it made more sense to post this now rather than after the s3 premier XD. Again I still adore dt17 and think in general the writing is excellent, this was just one of it’s weaker moments and I felt the need to rant about it
#ducktales 2017#dt17#my post#della duck#louie duck#blue rambles#i have Opinions#also if ur wonderinv about the kid commeny#bc yes i am 17#they’re not my bio kids#bc of a whole host of reasons i am my 2 younger sister’s main parental figure#i basically raised them and consider then my children#so i have an 11 yr old and a 6 yr old @ age 17 lol

Random Ask Dump - Anniversary Edition (50+ REALLY OLD ASKS!)
Going through OLD AND CRUSTY ASKS to try and chip away at the inbox. HERE WE GOOOO...
That’s an interesting idea, and I could run it by Cake, but I think it would honestly be a LOT to track from a programming perspective. Especially ‘cause killing Sans is gonna result in a “bad ending,” so to speak.
An attempt was made by Undyne to have all three hang out at the same time. Papyrus was SUPER EAGER. ...but one thing led to another and there were many messy explosions of chemicals and lots of smoke. Alphys had to step in before things got out of hand. It was all very daunting for her. Pap and Undyne are VERY LOUD, VERY AMBITIOUS PEOPLE.
I actually have some ideas of some side comics I may do at some point! :o It’s just that right now there’s a lot going on.
I need to poke Carni about that at some point. He’s just been very busy with other projects!
Clearly he’s standing on the “out to lunch” sign.
I wanna say that it’s very possible in theory. :o It probably affects them differently since monsters’ emotional state affects their magic and their physical state.
I do like little easter eggs like that, though I’m not sure where I’d fit it in atm just ‘cause I already showed Pap’s room, haha.
I made the chase theme for Mad Dummy as well as Mad Mew Mew’s battle theme. @pinewsun made the battle theme for Mad Dummy, and @thomasthepencil made the Season Dude battle theme and MD’s overworld theme. :o
That’s a really fascinating conundrum! You’re absolutely right- if IF was a standalone game, then from a writing standpoint, having more subtle implications would make sense! The reason I chose a different approach for IF is because it’s set after Flowey’s already known to be evil and I like to give different POVs rather than stick to just Frisk’s.
That’s an interesting thing, actually- both fights lean heavily on the fourth wall. Both are treated as climaxes for their given routes. It’s funny because Asriel’s fight is a lot more straightforward and less meta by comparison.
I agree! The thing with Papyrus is that he’s extremely powerful- he just doesn’t want to kill. But it’s a deliberate choice not to kill- he’s able to force his attacks to do next to no damage. He’s also pretty darn crafty, as he made the Gauntlet himself. It really is just a case of Undyne’s personal biases and concern for him.
That was a deliberate choice. :O Papyrus is very influential toward Frisk. He is best skeleboi.
Papybot loves you, anon! He just wants to feed you WHOLESOME SPAGHETTI!!!
It is possible to whistle through teeth. ...alternatively, magic. As for the music, Undertale implies that the music is heard! Maybe it’s just... a thing that exists in this world. Or it’s just meant to be a silly meta joke. I try to keep it somewhat ambiguous other than occasional nods to it. Chara’s pants are lighter because I just... felt like it, I guess? Haha. I wanted their feet and pants to stand out more from each other, so they have khaki pants. As for the Undyne fight being animated, well, this ask is old by now, but Sparks was the one who was down for it.
Well, the teaser’s been out for a long time now, but that’s the idea! It’s also why this has been in production for so long. The Determinator has some really over the top attacks (that weren’t even shown in the teaser), and Sparks animated in Photoshop. That’s how hardcore he is.
Shhhhh. Don’t give me ideas. I’m already slacking on Tem Village. :P
Sometimes I do have slumps and burnouts (see Antipode’s lengthy hiatus), but breaks lead to me being refreshed and coming back with even more enthusiasm than before!
Oh, there are a lot of these throughout the comic. For instance...
Flowey appears in a few background shots in the Ruins!
When Sans says “or maybe...” he looks at the empty flower pot. This was one of the earliest bits of foreshadowing about who created Flowey, and nobody noticed it at the time!
The MTT vending machines initially look like this but have helpful items.
And then they look like this, with an angry face and pose- Mad Dummy has possessed them!
As of Part 38, it’s been revealed that he did first meet Asgore as “Santa.” As for whether or not he knows the truth, time will tell. :o
Oh, these are excellent suggestions for calls! I’ll try to keep these in mind.
So, I believe Glyde uses the Mysterious Door motif. Jerry uses the motif in its battle theme- I believe it’s a mix of original motif and Wrong Number song?
Sans is a master of power napping. He probably gets a decent amount of sleep, though.
There are a lot of ways to interpret Pap’s lack of sleep! In IF, he can get by without it, but he also has a lot of reasons to avoid sleeping. Some reasons include productivity but also due to a looooot of heavy baggage. More on that later.
I think sleep can definitely make monsters healthier. Rest = better mental health as well as physical health, and with how important mental and emotional help is for monsters, that’s very important!
They just really like socks. Socks are warm. Socks are slinky. And googly eyes are the best. So they took on the form of a really eccentric sock puppet and sock collector. Scandalous.
It also has Alphys’ motif, as the two are the leaders of the royal guard!
I would say the lack of Asgore as an influence has left Undyne slightly less grounded? Like, she had Toriel and Gerson in her life, but her relationship with Toriel is... definitely not quite as close? Like, Toriel by that point kept people at an arm’s length due to losing multiple children (including one from old age). So, while they were on friendly terms until the aftermath of the DT experiments and the tapes’ release, it was more like mutual respect and a sorta professional relationship with Undyne admiring Toriel and wanting to spare her from more heartache.
That is a really interesting idea. While that didn’t happen, I do need to maybe revisit the grumpy dog at some point or another. He’s still a lil’ salty.
I think in terms of layout it won’t change much, but there will be new/different content for sure. :O
Mad Dummy’s base design is mostly original, but she has a wig + headband from DIO from Jojo Part 3! Fun fact: While MTT has Kamina shades, Papyrus’ goggles are loosely based on Simon from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann in terms of color. :O
So basically, when Asriel defeated Frisk, he had the power over the timeline to reset it as he pleased- in theory. However, that power was overwhelming for him, and due his lack of understanding OF said power and one last ditch attempt at resisting from Chara, things went wrong.
There is a track that takes some inspiration from Rage Awakened. It’s not released, and it’s not exact, but it won’t be released for a WHILE. Like until the part comes out.
I think it’s just the fact that tacos are so random. Like, my biggest beef in that regard was that OG Underswap had a lot of arbitrary replacements for things in UT and not all of them made sense. Like, if Sans was to make a foreign food, ramen would’ve made more sense due to Alphys being weeb trash, haha.
Okay, so the rough timeline iiiis... Falling: - Cyan - Green - Orange - Blue - Purple - Yellow Dying: - Cyan - Orange - Blue - Purple - Yellow - Green
You know, it’s funny because this ask is super old, but that’s basically sorta what happened. :O It became a beach-themed resort.
Never forget MTT fangirl Temmie’s pool escapades.
I think Forgespring for me because I had to make the tileset myself (it took a few months, I think?), but Aquarius was definitely in the works for a while. But once I had the tileset from Fours, the rooms were very easy to design!
That woulda been pretty rad! Maybe I can find another spot for it one day, haha.
I think for Dohj, I’d have to check with Fours, but I’m certainly not opposed at some point? Right now, the following chars can take questions: - Frisk - Papyrus - Sans - Undyne - Alphys - Napstablook - Mettaton - Asgore - Chara - Flowey
Cyan appears in Part 45! :O No answer about orange for now, tho.
I do have vague ideas for Tem village. I just haven’t had time to go back and do it.
Stay tuned and you may find out! :O
Hmmmm... I had a lot of fun with MTT SPIRAL and the Determinator, tbh. They were both very time consuming, but I love how they came out! Also, buff Jerry.
Turnabout Storm. :)
youtube
It’s a really awesome fan crossover that works way better than it should. :P
None taken! We know that with headcanons, everyone is gonna have their own interpretations. These are just the voices we liked for Fireglobe Production, but everyone has their right to their favored interpretations!
Yeah, Knight Knight is one of the coolest CORE mercs in the original game. It was fun to repurpose them for Inverted Fate as royal guards. :o It made room for unique encounters in the CORE in the form of them robots- as Undyne would rather use machines than other monsters to do her work.
Personally, I see it as an Asriel motif, but I also acknowledge that at one point it WAS gonna be an Asgore motif. Toby has a habit of just using whatever music works for a scene (see sans. at the snail farm.)
I do have a few ideas, though I won’t say for what yet. :o
He’s likely made blueprints for that train. :P
It probably would just have different flavor text/progression!
So basically, I treat the starting motif for BAaTH/Power of NEO is just a “true hero” motif.
MTT is definitely major in IF! As for whether or not he’ll have a hangout, time will tell. There’s definitely more to resolve with him, though.
I’m gonna remake at least a few of the older tracks, including Regret. My goal is just to bring the OST to a similar standard of quality.
So, animated parts coming up: Part 47, Part 49, Part 50. There may be some other parts, but we’re gonna wanna scale things back for a little bit for the sake of all our sanities.
I go with both. ;)
Honestly, probably fairly similar to the bully fight in the Ruins- which is why I ultimately decided not to do one. Both fill similar archetypes, though I think if I did do a battle, I woulda still had Flowey interrupt at the end and scare them off.
It’s a very emotional scene. Far more tragic than her geno death, IMO.
Well, the main goal in that regard is the remasters (Part 9 is in progress). Otherwise, I do think these hiatuses are good for working ahead. I’ve still gotta do more work, though, because my buffer this time around is a lot smaller from the trial-hiatus buffer. Alas!
Honestly, the website is the best thing to happen to IF. It’s allowed us to do so much with the comic’s presentation that would be impossible with imgur. NORIX IS THE BEST...

Why I think the actual Angel is Noelle Holiday
After nine months of research, procrastination, and working out the kinks, here’s a little theory of mine that’s been floating around in my head ever since the end of last November about Noelle Holiday and her potential role in the future of the series. It’s a bit of a long read, but I hope you’ll be willing to indulge me and give this crazy theory a chance.
As a forewarning, the following points I will be bringing up are simply too hefty to make a TLDR for, and it’s quite a long read, but trust me, you’re going to want to read through all of it for it to make sense in the end
Part 1: The Possible Evolution of the Delta Rune
First off, I’d like to look at the Delta Rune itself and a few easily overlooked key lines Gerson says about it:
That emblem actually predates written history.
The original meaning has been lost to time…
All we know is that the triangles symbolize us monsters below, and the winged circle above symbolizes…
Somethin' else.
The meaning and design of symbols can change over time, and it’s likely the same has happened to the way the Delta Rune is currently interpreted compared to when it first came into existence. For example, take a look at these variations of the Delta Rune:
Of these variations of the Delta Rune, these may be some of the oldest or closest iterations of the symbol to the original design, especially the ones from the intro cutscene and Gerson’s shop. The former is presumably from long before the Human-Monster War and thus the oldest version, and with Gerson’s apparent age and how he implies that he studies history, it is likely that the variation in his shop is also as close as can be to the original.
As for how these particular iterations of the Delta Rune fit into my theory, look at the design and positioning of the wings in these probably older iterations compared to likely more modern interpretations:
On the more recent interpretations, the base of the wings are placed around the same level as the center of the circle, and the wings themselves are mostly realistically designed. However, on the older interpretations, the wings are more simplified and stylized with more of an explicit arc to them, and the ‘feathers’ are more blocky with visible and sometimes significant spaces in between. Now keep that in mind when looking at these pictures:
Taking this into account, I think it is possible that - through the help of time and redesigns becoming successively more stylized - what was originally supposed to be a reindeer with antlers slowly got distorted and misremembered as a ‘winged circle.”
And maybe, something like this might even apply to Deltarune’s version of the Delta Rune as well given how several of the depictions of the Angel throughout the game look like the transition point between the older and newer designs, what with the ‘feathers’ being much rounder and closer together while still on an arc-based stylized design instead of a realistic wing-like design:
Part 2: The Origins of Modern Christmas
Now, with that established, let’s take a closer look at Noelle and her family.
Besides the obvious exception of Lancer, she has the most dialogue of all the NPCs, gets two entire scenes to herself in the hospital with her dad and outside her house to flesh out her character and crush on Susie compared to several other NPCs getting only a few lines of dialogue at most, and it is absolutely required to talk to her at the beginning of the game in order to even progress and end up in the Dark World.
As many other posts than mine have demonstrated, this suspicious level of detail has led a lot of people to theorize that Noelle will be an important character and that she might even be playable later on, a theory which has certainly been helped by Toby Fox’s original concept art of “THE FUN GANG” showing that her character has been in development for a LONG time - perhaps even from when work on Deltarune was just beginning - and that she may have been designed as a main character from the start.
However, much like how the potential origins of Undertale’s Delta Rune point towards the importance of reindeer in the series, I believe the deeper origins behind the names of the Holiday family similarly point towards Noelle’s true role in Deltarune.
Obviously, the name Rudy is a clear reference to the famous Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, and Dess is most likely a reference to how Christmas is celebrated in the month of December. However, as Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer was created in 1939 for the Montgomery Ward department store chain, he is actually a relatively new addition to the list of Santa’s reindeer, whom in of themselves are early 19th Century additions to the image of Santa Claus - a figure tracing back to the 4th Century Christian bishop Saint Nicholas.
And on Jesus’ birth being on the 25th of December for Dess’ name, from what I’ve gathered with my google-fu, the event may have actually taken place less on December 25 and more during the fall or spring due to mentions of shepherds tending to their sheep in the scripture as well as from several attempts to connect the Star of Bethlehem with recorded astronomical events.
In fact, it seems likely that - in the 4th Century - the church might have actually chosen the date either because of coming to the conclusion that Jesus’ conception took place on the spring solstice - aka March 25, nine months before December 25 - or because they wanted to increase the popularity of Christianity through adopting and appropriating pagan winter solstice festivals like the Yule and Saturnalia holidays around the same time of year.
On the flipside, Noelle is a name that has a particularly distinct connection to Christmas; specifically, to the one for whom the holiday is named for in the first place rather than a recent secular addition or the general time in which said holiday is celebrated.
From what I’ve seen, Noelle as a name traces back to the French word ‘noel,’ which - alongside referring to Christmas carols - is a variant form of the word ‘Nael.’ This form comes from the noun use of the Latin adjective natalis, meaning of, or belonging to, one’s birth. The noun use (from natalis dies, day of birth) denoted a birthday, an anniversary, a commemorative festival, hence in ecclesiastical Latin the festival of the nativity of Christ, Christmas.
Basically, out of all the names of the Holiday family, Noelle’s is the one that most directly ties into the actual origins of Christmas in how the name’s origins heavily revolve around the birth of Jesus Christ, a major religious figure who was to be a sacrifice for humanity’s sins and to provide a way into heaven.
Considering Toby Fox’s attention to hidden details and deeper meanings and how angels are heavily associated with and are depicted in Christianity - particularly in relation to Jesus - there may be further significance to Toby picking a name that’s typically given to girls born around or on Christmas day. After all, even if it may or may not be the actual day of Jesus’ birth, it is widely celebrated and recognized as such.
However, as you’ll see at the end, I think there’s even another layer of meaning to Noelle Holiday’s name than just this one.
Part 3: Reindeer in Undertale
On a slightly different topic, while it’s hard to ignore how more prominently featured Christmas iconography and figures in the foreground of the series - what with the introduction of the Holiday family as well as several jokes about “Krismas” and Santa Claus in Deltarune, I believe it may also be important to pay attention to Undertale’s fair share of Christmas-themed details.
Namely, in how a significant amount of them owe their existence to one specific minor character; aka the rather unusually designed Gyftrot.
In contrast to the handful of implications that Asgore is the Underground’s Santa only being implicitly hinted at through extended dialogue and checking his bureau, Snowdin’s tradition of putting presents under decorated trees is blatantly and conspicuously out in the open.
And as Gift Bear explains if you talk to them, said tradition originated not with wherever Asgore’s Santa outfit and apparent moonlighting came from, but rather came about in the first place as a way to make Gyftrot feel better after some teens decorated his horns.
As to why I am calling Gyftrot unusually designed, it is because of his rounded head and sideways mouth - a trait only seen elsewhere in the DT Extraction Machine, Photoshop Flowey, and Sans’ Gaster Blasters.
Of all the conversations and theories I’ve seen about this strange detail, most people were only able to come up with the explanation that Toby simply liked the design and reused it for Gyftrot just for fun without any deeper meaning to it, or that Toby unintentionally gave it to Gyftrot while making Undertale.
However, a third explanation I found is that Gyftrot’s design may actually be foreshadowing for what Photoshop Flowey’s appearance looks like, what with how Gyftrot actually seems to have a second pair of eyes at the base of his antlers, and how one of the decorations he spawns with is a picture between his four eyes in a very similar position to the television screen on Photoshop Flowey.
To my knowledge, this explanation and comparison has only been made in conjunction by two people, with user u/Peridotthepie providing the explanation and and user u/pleasespellicup providing the following picture in the linked post.
While I can’t see any other possible parallels between the two to fully call this foreshadowing - especially with how the picture decoration isn’t guaranteed to show up on every playthrough and how obscure it is - I’d like to propose the idea that the DT Extraction Machine (and perhaps the Gaster Blasters by extension) may very well be based on Gyftrot or a relative with a similar design in-universe.
After all, not even boss monsters leave behind anything more than a pile of dust when they die, not even a goat-like skull that could be used as a reference, whereas Gyftrot is a living, walking example of such a design, complete with what even seems to be a SOUL-shaped hole in his mouth.
Not only that, but given how attentive to detail and deeper meanings Toby has shown himself to be as well as the increased prominence and importance of reindeer/Christmas themes in general for Deltarune, I find it incredibly unlikely that this design choice was made just for fun or as an accident.
On a bit of a side note, it is interesting that we first learned of the name “Rudy” in a post from September 17, 2017 on Undertale’s 2nd anniversary and alarm clock app.
Considering the apparent parallels between Undertale and Deltarune - for example, the potential connection between Susie and the ‘Suzy’ character mentioned by Clam Girl, who appears to have ties to Gaster - and the implications of the dialogue in that post, it’s likely that Undertale Rudy is also a reindeer just like his counterpart, and I would not be surprised if he was also related to Gyftrot as well.
As for what the exact deeper meaning or in-universe explanation behind Gyftrot could be, it’s too early to tell, but I have the feeling that it likely ties heavily into Noelle’s circumstances in Deltarune and some of the effects of the DT Extraction Machine on Undertale’s plot as detailed below.
Part 4: Determining Other Connections
To explain what I’m talking about, let’s take a closer look at a few key lab entries by Alphys, starting with this one:
ENTRY NUMBER 5: I've done it. Using the blueprints, I've extracted it from the human SOULs. I believe this is what gives their SOULs the strength to persist after death. The will to keep living... The resolve to change fate. Let's call this power... "Determination."*
While not explicitly confirmed, from the name and surrounding context, it is likely that the blueprints Alphys used were for the DT Extraction Machine and that DT stands for Determination, though it is unknown whether Alphys built the machine from the blueprints or if it was already constructed and she merely used the blueprints to operate it.
Either way, as we all know, things went horribly wrong from there. Alphys had accidentally turned those who had “fallen down” into the Amalgamates, created Flowey from the flower whose seeds Asriel had brought from the surface, and fell into a nervous downward spiral while wracked with guilt.
Now, I want to focus on just how the Amalgamates had been created, particularly with these entries:
ENTRY NUMBER 6: ASGORE asked everyone outside the city for monsters that had "fallen down." Their bodies came in today. They're still comatose... And soon, they'll all turn into dust. But what happens if I inject "determination" into them? If their SOULS persist after they perish, then... Freedom might be closer than we all thought.
ENTRY NUMBER 12: nothing is happening. i don't know what to do. i'll just keep injecting everything with "determination." i want this to work.
ENTRY NUMBER 17: monsters' physical forms can't handle "determination" like humans can. with too much determination, our bodies begin to break down. everyone's melted together…
Here, I’d like to draw your attention to a few things. Given the surrounding context, “falling down” seems to be a condition - one that potentially originates from age, injury, or some kind of illness - involving or causes monsters to enter a comatose state and eventually die.
And in Entry 17, there is the interesting wording of the line “with too much determination, our bodies begin to break down.” From how it’s phrased, it seems that, instead of melting from any amount of Determination in their systems whatsoever, monsters can handle Determination without having to fear of their bodies breaking down, though obviously there’s a cap to how much they are able to handle.
As for why I’m making this particular distinction, it’s because of Noelle’s situation with her father and how it may proceed beyond Chapter 1 in the future.
With the implication that Undertale Rudy had passed away a while ago, Deltarune Rudy’s conversations with and about Noelle, and Deltarune’s apparent theme of choices not mattering - or at least, not in the long run - it seems pretty likely that DR Rudy is suffering from a case of the foreboding coughs of death and that he may even “fall down” later on.
As such, it wouldn’t be surprising if his condition keeps worsening all the way until he ends up on his deathbed/in a coma/legitimately dead no matter what the doctors or Noelle and such do to help, and neither would it be surprising for her to be seriously affected and react in a severe way as a result.
I mean, Rudy openly talks about how everything scares her, even ironically Santa Claus, and as the classroom scene demonstrates, she has trouble mustering up the courage and confidence to assert herself to the point where even Alphys asks her to speak up.
Considering that her father openly talks about how defenseless she is and how he worries about not being able to protect her from his hospital bed, his death/apparently inevitable upcoming death would no doubt drastically impact her, especially if she attempted as much as she could to stop it to no avail.
Sometimes, one can be driven to desperation to do crazy things as a result of love and worry, and Noelle may very well do the same out of love for her father. If at least some of Undertale’s rules about SOULS and monsters also apply to the world of Deltarune, then there may only be one way - or at the very least, what she feels might be the only option left - in the end for Noelle to potentially give her father the strength to persist and the will to keep living, perhaps even after death.
Or in other words, potentially through extracting enough Determination from a human SOUL to inject into and potentially save her father/bring him back to life.
If the SOUL we the players control is or is close enough to a human SOUL to work, no other human characters/SOULS pop up later, and Noelle somehow finds out about the power of Determination and becomes resolved to use it, then there may be few - if any - things we will be able to do to dissuade her from going after Kris/wherever the SOUL we control goes.
Now, this is where what I think could be the second meaning behind Noelle’s name points would come into play, and in quite an important way.
For those that don’t know, if you enter Susie, Kris, or Noelle as the creator’s name in Deltarune’s introduction, you get the interesting following response:
“YOU ARE ABOUT TO MEET SOMEONE VERY, VERY WONDERFUL.”
With how anagrams appear to be a major theme of Deltarune in both a naming and worldbuilding sense, it's rather curious that of these three names, only two make any actually sensible anagrams. Kris and Susie can be turned into "risk" and "issue,” but Noelle oddly appears to buck the trend.
However, I think the answer for this ties back to Lab Entry 17. You see, in toxicology research terms, Alphys had injected more than “the highest dose at which there was not an observed toxic or adverse effect.”
Interestingly, this level of dosage is known as the No Observable Adverse Effect Level, or the term NOAEL for short. And sometimes, when describing and looking for an effect in general than just specifically adverse ones, the term used in toxicology reports is the No Observable Effect Level, or NOEL.
Basically, if Noelle hopes to save her father, she needs to make sure to not inject too much or too little Determination. Otherwise, she’d go below the NOEL, where Ruby would simply not have enough strength to keep living, or above the NOAEL, where Rudy would seem to be fine for a while at first before inevitably melting down.
And with that, Noelle’s strangely un-anagramable name can be reconciled with Kris and Susie’s, all three names relating to terms often used to describe something problematic in a scientific way.
In fact, one could even say that the terms their names correspond to sound like they would fit very well in a lab or experiment report, perhaps one involving interesting increases in darkness, like an imbalance in Dark Fountains…
Part 5: Conclusions
Of course, I do realize that that last bit is quite a stretch to suggest, even in comparison to the rest of my theory and particularly the latter half of the above section. As of now, there’s no real way of telling how these details actually connect in this way or if they really even connect to each other in the first place, let alone if they even operate on similar enough rules like my theory presumes.
Heck, with the shortage of clear definitive details about W.D. Gaster, the apparent differences between the worlds of Deltarune and Undertale, and how things may change or have already changed in development in between games and chapters, it’s entirely possible that the series will take a very different direction than the one laid out here.
Perhaps we haven’t even heard of the character who is the actual Angel and everything we’ve seen so far are just red herrings. Maybe Ralsei’s legend will be revealed to have been falsified and he and/or Asriel will turn out to be the Angel like commonly theorized. For all we know, the world of Deltarune might not even precede OR succeed Undertale’s, and it’ll turn out that both worlds are derived from a third, unaltered world/timeline.
But whatever it may be, at the point we currently are at now, I find that my most likely candidate for the Angel is Noelle Holiday. On their own, the details supporting my theory would be easy to disregard and aur tenuous at best when taken by themselves, but when taken together as a whole, it’s hard to deny that they VERY much look like they start to frame a pretty concerning picture about the exact role of reindeer across the entire series.
I mean, even if stuff like Determination turn out to not exist - or at least, don’t work the same way they do in Undertale at all - in Deltarune, the following general sequence of events seem likely to happen for me; that Rudy might get worse to the point of almost dying/actually dying, that Noelle might turn to something just as equally rather dangerous or desperate as extracting Determination in order to save/bring back her father, and that what she does may involve/cause her to somehow become the Angel.
Besides, like we can see from the introduction to Deltarune Chapter 1, it would be much like Toby to play with our expectations from Undertale and set us up to suspect that Ralsei or Asriel may be the Angel while he sets up the real Angel elsewhere.
After all, just about every good magic trick and literature twist relies on the art of misdirection at least in some part, subtly distracting the audience while the real clues are being built up in plain sight.
Like, for example, using the power of fluffy boys to deflect attention from the reindeer in the background.

Merchandise Predictions!
(Time for something different!)
Since the New York Toy Fair is coming up this week, I wanted to put together a quick list of guesses of what we might be able to expect and what I would personally like to see because I’m very excited about this. I can imagine a lot more focus on the secondary characters this time around with some first wave characters returning.
Standard Figures:
There were six packs last time and the characters came with two accessories that reflected something they did on the show.
Mrs. Beakley wasn't included in the first wave, so maybe she’ll get one this time. She might come with a cleaning tool like a feather duster and a spy device. Perhaps a grappling hook of her own? Maybe a tray with tea?
It seems like Gyro is getting more involved this season, so a standard figure for him could be an option. I can definitely see Lil’ Bulb as one of his accessories. Maybe the other could be something like a notepad, a phone, or his shrink ray?
If Gyro gets merch, Fenton has a good chance of get his own too. Could he come with a binder? The light ray he was using in “Shadow War”?
Lena was a Money Stack figure last time and is expected to return at some point this season. She might come with the friendship bracelet Webby made for her, a spell book or Webby’s doll.
I think Magica could end up getting a standard figure; there might be a pattern going on where at least one villain is in each wave. One of her items would definitely be her scepter. Maybe another can be Scrooge’s Number One Dime with her face on it? They’d probably have to enlarge it. I’m probably asking for too much here, but it would be cool if her feathers were color changing; like at room temperature, they’re green, but when cold, they’re white.
Darkwing Duck was a Money Stack figure last time and it’s hinted that the show isn't done with him, so it would be really great if he got standard figure. He’d definitely have his gas gun; maybe converted to a grappling hook, and a saxophone like the one he was playing in “Last Crash” would be a fun addition.
I believe Della is a possibility since she too is becoming more apparent this season, but I feel like it’s still too soon for her to have a standard figure or much merch in Wave 2 at all. She’s being talked about more yet she’s still elusive. Maybe PhatMojo & Disney will hold back on her until next year to give people more time to watch her mystery play out. If she does end up having a figure, maybe it’ll be a tool and removable goggles. Or maybe her entire flight cap will be removable.
Mark Beaks is another possibility, but the demand for a standard figure might be kinda low, though. He would, of course, come with a phone and maybe a snow cone too.
Playsets:
I think the next playset based on a building could be Scrooge’s mansion because both his home and The Money Bin are locations of extreme importance. Having them be the first would be the most expected.
The PhatMojo announcement article from last year seemed to imply that there will be many more vehicle sets to build in upcoming waves. Perhaps one of those could be the Gizmosuit? It’s a machine with pieces that connect together when activated. It’s a little hard to imagine Gizmo getting his own standard figure without a Fenton one and vice-versa. I feel like both of them wouldn't end up having standard figures; PM might want to do something special for Gizmo. If Fenton gets a standard figure, he could be placed into the robotic suit like Launchpad can be placed into the Sunchaser for the first wave. Maybe with a removable helmet you can snap on. However we get Gizmo, I hope he comes with a good stand/base to keep him from toppling over.
I suppose another possibility for a future vehicle playset could be Scrooge’s limo with a more chauffeur-looking Launchpad figure.
Another vehicle concept that could work is The Spear of Selene since it crashed into pieces (Haha oof) and Della’s trying to rebuild it(?) Maybe it’ll come with a long-haired Della figure too.
Mini Figure Set:
LP, Mrs. B and Donald were missing in the first batch so they have a high chance of appearing in the next installment if one is planned. Others I could see being included are Gyro, Fenton, and Lena.
Money Stacks:
Mrs. B, Gizmoduck, Fenton, Gyro, Mark, and maybe it’ll have Della as rare figure in a similar manner that Darkwing was. Maybe Storkules, Selene and...Manny(?) could appear too. I feel like there might end up being character repeats from the first wave, but the poses will be different. Blind Bag figure waves tend to have multiples.
Talking Plush:
LP, Mrs. B and Donald since they weren't included in the last set. Gyro? Fenton? Lena?
Other Merch Things:
While I’m at it, more girl-aimed apparel, accessories & etc. with Webby on it along with more gender neutral stuff with all the cast together would be nice. A lot of those type of items that were released last year were only aimed at boys and there wasn't an effort to even things out. Which is really weird because while there are a lot of male characters in the cast, the reboot was never solely aimed at a boy demographic. Webby was surprisingly snuck into a couple of those items, but like...if you’re gonna separate, give us some girl stuff too.
Moving on from Target, it would be cool if the shopDisney came out with plush toys of Scrooge, Launchpad, Donald and Mrs.Beakley. We...we just need more Launchpad and Beakley merch; they tend to get kicked out of a lot of things. Adult apparel & accessories of the reboot to go alongside the classic styled stuff would be great to see too.
As much as I would love to, I won’t be able to attend the toy fair to see what we’ll be getting in person, but I’ll make sure to embed or reblog any coverage that ends up online...if we’re allowed to. Last year, it was asked for attendees not to take any photographs from PhatMojo’s display, but that request was ignored...hopefully things will be ok this time.
