My mother recently passed away after a long period of fighting several chronic issues. She was 84. I lived with her as caregiver while also running my bookstore.

That took rather a toll on finances because I often needed to close unexpectedly on short notice to care for her. Plus her final expenses. Everything will be fine in six months once estate is settled but right now, OOF, that is a cash crunch on me. It's basically drained all my savings so if one more thing goes wrong, keeping store running becomes difficult.

I've run this store for 23 years, come February 1st. While I carry all types of books, my specialty is queer books. That Pride flag flies year round!

So I could use some support right now and as all The Everything is happening.

I don't have an account on Red Note and I never used tik tok and I'm not from usa, I'm from Argentina (South America) and I'm only learning about all the things that are happening via tumblr so I don't know what is really happening out there but there are a lot of latinamericans and spaniards' content creators that make content about China.

I suggest Spanish speakers to check out on youtube: Jabiertzo (a married couple of a spaniard man and a chinese woman who live in Changsha), Mandarin Lab (an argentinian woman whos family live in Shanghai and who is currently living there too) and Un Topo por el Mundo (an argentinian man who lived in Pekin for 3 years and knows a lot about Chinese culture).

I know there are more content creators, these are just the ones I follow. And I know there are english speakers' content creator too, so it's really not that hard to find the answers to all of your questions already answered.

I know it's easier to just ask again to people but, please, be a little more respectful, you cannot expect people to be your personal teacher about everything and about cultural knowledge or perspectives. It's just disrespectful.

I can't imagine how it'd be if a lot of people came to one of my posts asking me what argentinians think about racism, about other latinoamerican countries, or about, idk, immigration, or about lgbtq policies. Besides, one person on the internet can not give you the perspective of a whole country.

i'm going to focus on my current wip, Why Should I Be Careful? I'm Going To Die Anyway! because it's still very much in the planning stages (despite how much I'm writing for it) and I have Thoughts

What is the main lesson of your story? Why did you choose it?

I'll be honest, I haven't really thought that far ahead. I suppose, if there is a lesson to take from WSIBC?IGTDA!, it might be that you should always chase your goals and desires, and screw what other people think. Maybe put a little more thought and planning into yours than Aura does hers, though. I mean, she almost dies due to her recklessness. Don't be like Aura.

What did you use as inspiration for your worldbuilding?

Well, it's a zombie book - I love zombies, in case you can't tell - so the world is an amalgamation of zombie stuff I love. The zombies are based off of the Train to Busan zombies. This is a self-insert mess, so I'm using the town and people I know in the town as location and characters. Little tropes here and there that I love in movies and books alike. It's just a big chimera of stuff that I grab from stuff I remember and shove into it. It definitely needs polish when it's done, but I'm having a blast so far, so I'm'a keep doing it :3

What is your MC trying to achieve, and what are you, the writer, trying to achieve with them? Do you want to inspire others, teach forgiveness, or help the reader grow as a person?

Uhhhhhh this is a tough question. Right now, Aura is trying to make it to Roger's Grocery Mart to save her girlfriend, but most of the time, she's just trying to have a good time in the zombie apocalypse and hopefully not die. She does eventually grow into a character that (mostly) thinks things through and takes other people's situations into account, so I suppose the lesson is "the world doesn't revolve around you - be kind and helpful to others"?

As for what I'm trying to achieve... mostly, to be honest, I just want people to pick up my book and have a good time reading it. I want to write a zombie book because it's my passion and because there aren't enough zombie books out there. I guess I'm trying to inspire others? To show them that you can survive an impossible situation if you work hard and think things through?

How many chapters is your story going to have?

The only time I've written a full-length book (sorry, the only two times, forgot about Zero: ALPHA), it had about twenty-odd chapters. Z:A had...uh...thirty? That was a long time ago and I sadly no longer have that draft. This one is going to go until it's done. Hopefully more than thirty though!

Is it fanfiction or original content? Where do you plan to post it?

Original content! I have no idea where I'm going to post it. I'm torn between Draft2Digital (originally Smashwords) or Substack. Thing is, I'm really bad at marketing and keywords and all that technical stuff that goes into publicizing, so I'm really hesitant to share it at all. I'm the type of person that gets absolutely morally devastated if my own self-inflicted goals aren't met, and I'm not sure if I can handle that kind of crushing heartbreak with this one lol

So yeah. Might publish, might not. Unsure right now.

When did you start writing?

My dad set up a Windows 95 computer for me in his office, his old one, and taught me the basics of using it. I was five, about to turn six. I immediately sat down and wrote a story about unicorns. I've been writing ever since.

I didn't start writing fanfiction until I was thirteen and had just binge-watched Lord of the Rings for the first time. We don't talk about those works. They were awful.

Do you have any words of encouragement for fellow writers of writeblr? What other writers do you follow?

Write it. Oh it's cringe? Who cares? Write it. Oh, it's a rare pair? Write it. You're worried people will hate it? Fuck the haters. Write it. Writing is about having fun. Writing is about pouring your soul onto the page. Writing is about getting those ideas out of your head so they don't drive you insane. It's about reaching that one person that finds your work and loves it. Even if no one reads it - you still accomplished something. You still wrote it. And no one can take that from you.

i've been debating to archive the blog since last year. to tell the truth, the new theme that appeared in zhongrin since september last year was actually the theme of a new writing sideblog i made. honestly, i had contemplated archiving it since july ー and i've lost count over how many times i created a 'blog archived' post only to delete it, over and over again. i just held on like an idiot and kept telling myself to just post and dip out.

don't look at the activity bar, it's just going to be full of likes. don't look at the notes, i'll just be full of more empty likes. don't look at the reblogs, it won't have any feedback anyway. don't look into your inbox, you won't find any feedback whatsoever anyway. don't look at your dash, lest you'll see other people getting interactions and start wondering if you're the weirdo for not getting any. don't look. don't look. don't look.

i'm just so tired of being disappointed.

it's like writing out a play and 10k people reserved seats to your free performance, yet all you see are thousands of absent seats. all you receive are silent smiles. a few applauses. and less than ten people commenting on the play, most of which are your own friends.

every time i post, i start questioning why did i even bother sharing this. or if i'm even actually good enough at writing. or if that comment was just there out of pity. or if i should have used the time i spent writing, proofreading, and editing to do something else. something that would have brought more joy. something that would result in more than a few strung words on a digital screen that no one thinks is worth sharing.

every time i post, it just feels like i just did something meaningless. every time i do events or bring my ocs to the spotlight, every time i'm having so much fun, people leave and it gets even more silent. my thoughts? my expectations? my joy? my sadness? meaningless. they're all meaningless to these ten thousand people.

why should i keep sharing and doing something that feels meaningless and hopeless?

so i stopped caring and archived. that's all there is to it.

i do have that new writing blog set up. way back since last year. because as much as i loathe the silence, i still love writing. sometimes.

as of today, that blog is still devoid of original posts. i don't know when or if i'll feel comfortable posting my own 'content' again. or maybe i never will. who knows. but if i do, this time, i'm setting things up so i can just be the 'content creator' that readers expect me to be and distance myself from everything.

Disclaimer: the following is a very British perspective from someone whose Old School looked quite different in terms of the stuff going on around D&D. I don't think we had a Satanic Panic, but we did have Section 28, and that had an impact on how we detected, parsed, expressed and discussed queerness.

There was certainly a time, not that long before my time, when you'd get the shit kicked out of you at school for playing D&D. Gamers a handful of years older than me have first hand accounts of this phenomenon. By the time I came along, the fantasy roleplaying bubble had deflated somewhat and the heat was off - you'd get the piss taken, but your shit would remain unkicked.

But during all this time, in terms of what happened in games and what the gamers were like, D&D was both a game for freaks and geeks, and a straight game for straights, mostly boys. Like, we can talk about the homoerotic undertones of certain sword and sorcery fiction integral to the core concept of D&D (thews, heft, clothes getting destroyed again), but you'd still be called a gaylord for bringing it up. We can also talk about the specific kinds of horniness in the fantasy art of the 1980s. If a queer person looks at that they're going to see something they can like in there, but the composition, the textual and aesthetic architecture, when it addresses sexuality at all, is addressing it to a straight default.

Then you put Vampire next to it, with its openly not-straight characters and its lavishly purple prose and its kinky as hell art style, and you see what a queer game looks like. It doesn't do the textual equivalent of looking to the camera and saying "this is a queer game for queer people, and this is what we queer designers think about doing queer things, queerly," which I think is what a lot of people want from "queer representation" - an unambiguous and direct yes, which is a great thing to say in the bedroom but honestly a bit boring in a game that's trying to be mysterious and transgressive and other. It simply is queer, and you're going to deal with that as you see fit.

There's probably something else I could say about how Requiem 2e was written by two people who transitioned by the time the product line was done, and that sense of transness, movement from one thing to another, bubbles through the whole game, but I think that thought needs to percolate for a little bit.

D&D is the Taylor Swift of TTRPGs by which I mean it's something with broad mainstream appeal and name recognition and also there are people out there who pretend it's gay

Now let me explain my reason for thinking this.

Now unless these void posts are all fake successes, I think going to the void does not necessarily bring you to a new reality since I have been following people on here and after some time, some of them said they reached the void (how can I read this if they are in a different reality?).

Besides this, I think that the void is the ultimate source of everything. Therefore it is also the source between all realities and you can just manifest things for your current one. YOU ARE THE BOSS. You get to decide everything, including in which reality what happens.

(These were my main points incase you do not have time to read the whole thing)

Like in one of my other posts, I have experienced people manifesting for me or even that I would text them. That this worked for them on me honestly blowed my mind, but there was also this account that I followed with this post. Now I saw she asked for this, someone gave her the sigil, the manifestation worked and we were still in the same reality for me to see that it worked.

I know some people believe we shift every second when we make a choice, but my quantum physics of high school explained it was not really about us humans making different choices but the molecule parts acting randomly (which could create different realities but this is ofc impossible to prove). Besides this, like if I want ice cream I always take the lemon flavor over the chocolate because I like it more, your choices are based on who you are and your past experiences. Choices that you make do not have a 50-50% chance.

Looking at things Ive learned from being in the shifting community, unless you succesfuly permashift, you will go back to what they call your cr (current reality). I believe you go back there because you still have some attachments to it, this is also a reason why I think for the most time you stay in the same reality.

Anyway, it is really difficult to prove anything so take this with a grain of salt, this is just my perspective :P.

PS: this is also a reason why I believe that the void state pact could work and is not limited by shifting

OK. I knew I'd get this question one day. And, I know some of you are Love and Deepspace (LaDs) fans (and also K-pop fans, especially you guys, I don't know why you're following me ahahhaha, but it's welcomed. Sorry, don't know much about K-pop like I hardly know DC).

OK SO! Of course I know this game! I played the game it was inspired by, Mr. Love Queen's Choice for more than 3 years! DADDYYYY VICTORRRR. I still have my account, whahhaha. Yes. This is bringing back memories.

And in Love and Deepspace's early release, like official first day, I was there! So, yes, I've played it.

Playstyle and graphics were cool. And, as a competitive gamer in general, ofc it was right up my alley. A bit clunky at first release, needed some adjustments, but generally good. It was way better in terms of graphics than Mr. Love, especially the interface and menus.

Though, I'd say what turned me off is I related more to the MC of Mr. Love than LaDs. Didn't really vibe with the MC of LaDs, a bit too emotional and outspoken for my tastes. Felt ENFJ (sorry, can't relate AT ALL to ENFJ's and ESFJ's especially) not gonna lie hahhahha. But, it's been so long since I played, so sorry if I get details wrong. Anyways...

I was just not vibing with the MC, and low-key plot as well. But, then again, maybe I expected too much. It usually happens when I do. I get so excited than it falls short of my expectations, and then I'm like ehh. So I just low key turn off my brain. It's also to prevent myself from spoiling myself. You have no idea how many times I've unwittingly spoiled myself in ANY fandom! It's genuinely unreal. So, it's like I have to stop thinking so I don't ruin those "huzzah" or "woahhh" moments for myself as a reader or audience.

Ok, back to the topic.

Why am I not making yandere content on it? Simple.

Because of this RULE:

Some characters remind of me of real life people too much, like for example, most “soft” and “green flag characters”. Reminds me of my friend’s boyfriend. And that person is gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss. It’s fricking weird. But in general, most reasons I don’t write certain characters is because it reminds me too much of people I know in real life.

My friend and I don't share stories. AT ALL. That includes any fandom, manga, anime, manhwa, video games, etc. There are some exceptions, but usually we have separate fandoms.

So, when I introduced this game to share with my friend. Majority of the characters, from the graphics to their behavior, fit my friend's boyfriend more. Reminded her of him more.

Didn't really find anyone that reminded me of my husband (only 4 main guys before). I do play games, or do anything really to spend time with him. And even in things like this, I do this so I can analyze my husband, think about him and brainstorm, etc. Just basically husband simping for me.

So, in conclusion, probably not gonna talk a lot about Love and Deepspace. And besides, I don't think the MC is like me anyway, so it's fine. I just have to not look at ANY fanart, 'cause man IT IS EVERYWHERE. I have to LITERALLY avoid it like the plague so I don't tempt myself.

Ok.. Calm calm.....

So. I never ever listened to them and sometimes also arguing with them tried my best to ignore them.. Yelling "SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP" repeatedly usually got them to... Well, _shut up._

But just. We had another argument together. After _STARSCREAM_[don't even ask me how she got in here I don't fucking know] decided to act all mighty and shit another yelling match started that I just.. Couldn't take it anymore.. I had some.. Uhm, "quite the words" to say the least. They silenced for the day after that..

And then the next morning they just.. Weren't there when I woke up. At first I was, well, glad! It was finally quite for once! I could do things that normal people did! But uh.. After the second day it was far too quiet for my liking.. And.. It's been a month now. It's still too quiet.. Starscream[why HIM instead of others I have no idea] came back for 20 minutes a week ago.. I was glad to have at least SOMEONE back but she went away again..

I learned about this whole "system" stuff thanks to a follower saying "oh this is such a funny post as a system!" on a reblog I've done. --Which led me here. I've been... _Learning_ the past few days.. And. Well. Things really do fit me well and.. I'm not sure if I hate that or not...

I.. The reason for this _ask_ is because.. I wanted to know if others had this.. Well, "_experience_" too? Like.. I.. I miss them, alright? It suddenly went from 7 to 1 in here and it's far too quiete!!! I just.. I wanted to know if there was possibly a way to bring them back..?

Hey, there. It sounds like you've been having a rough time lately. You have my sympathies for that. I won't give too much advice on this situation you're in – I don't feel equipped to do that – but you're not alone in this experience, anon. We went through a very similar situation a few years back, actually.

At the time, we'd just recently made our then-host (as in, the headmate who was our host at the time) aware that they had others in their head, that they were part of a system. We had... a rough few months after that, filled with fear and doubt. And at one point, our then-host became overwhelmed, and ended up driving away the headmates who were talking to them.

The silence lasted for about two days before another headmate of ours stepped up to talk to our then-host, helping them work through their issues and reconnect with those they'd run off. From what they can remember of the event, it was mostly a matter of mentally "reaching out" – consciously trying to connect to the ones they'd driven off so they could apologize. None of us are sure how it worked – best we've got is that we've always visualized our communication difficulties as walls that we have to get our internal communication/messages past – but it did, and we're all chill now on that front.

So, yes, others have had this experience before, and your headmates will likely come back to talk to you again. I can't promise anything, but if my-our story is anything to go off of, even situations like this can be recoverable. It just may take a while for all the hurt to be worked out.

Who do you think has been the best at writing Kurt and what is your favorite stage of the character? Personally, Kurt from Excalibur is my big favorite.

Hey! I don't think I've actually talked about Kurt much, aside from complaining about his NPC status and bizarre priest coding (that was quickly reversed) in From The Ashes

It's hard to argue with Excalibur as a defining run for Kurt's character and his themes. He got to buckle his swash and I really enjoy the relationships built during Excalibur (except Brian. Dude sucks IMO) - even if those relationships and shared experiences have been backgrounded of late. I wasn't aware of different authors when I first read it but looking back Alan Davis if I have to pick.

My favourite stage of the character though is Krakoan Age Kurt. I enjoyed him under Hickman's pen (even if the third law was a mistake.) Si Spurrier made some pretty massive missteps in Way of X but I'm glad that his reaction to Krakoa generally and The Crucible specifically was explored. There's a lot of ways to approach 'I need to start a mutant religion' and zooming in on his personal crisis of faith and allying him with Legion really worked for me.

Focusing on people and examining the laws with the background threat of Onslaught was clever, and he reached the only conclusions that makes sense. I do wish it was longer and a deeper dive into the laws, but it'd break the premise a little if The Onslaught Revelation ended and Kurt said out loud that the Krakoan government is corrupt and we need to start from scratch. Everyone nearly died permanently because Xavier has too much power with no means of accountability.

I'd have hated it if he really did start a religion; The Spark was a secular philosophy that addressed his personal crisis and resonated with a certain kind of person. I've seen people call it a religion and it makes me wonder if they read the book. The foray into justice reform in Legion of X is something I loved on a conceptual level - yes he was using his QC position for legitimacy but at its core the Altar and Legionaries was about the little people, the younger folks, those working for redemption. Kurt's pointed and specific refusal to co-operate with Charles Xavier on his authoritarian bs was a great character beat, as was defending Juggernaut's agency and the chance to be better. I do wish the original sin of Sabertooth in the hole was touched on, but Victor LaValle nailed it elsewhere so I can't complain.

Combined with the Quiet Council dissolution in Immortal X-Men I think we'd have seen an upswell of younger, politically engaged mutants eager to reform their home. I digress.

I loved Kurt's time as Spider-Man (or spinnenmann lol) as a kind of back to basics during the worst time for mutants. It's relatable that he'd be overwhelmed by trauma and grief and just want to be 'a whole Kurt Wagner' for a while. Fight some bad guys, have a romance, eat pizza with Spider-Man. I definitely liked the retcons in X-Men Blue: Origins, the follow up in X-Men Forever, but most of all that he was allowed to be angry about it in Uncanny #700. Trust is earned and neither of his bio parents have done that.

As I mentioned, I'm unimpressed with how he's been used in From The Ashes. He's wasted as a background character and I think putting him on the Uncanny team was a mistake. If it was my decision I'd have him as a peacemaker, flitting from team to team and book to book. I especially feel like he'd visit Katschen himself and not be a party to Iceman spying on her. Kurt and Kitty have a much closer relationship. Tom Brevoort has been outspoken about the X-Men killing people in Fall of X - Kurt and Kitty are the perfect lens to explore that through.

I get that he was already taken by Uncanny, but focusing on Logan and Rogue (where their familial relationship 'upgrade' is recent and barely established) to the detriment of other longstanding relationships feels like a waste to me.

It seems I had more thoughts on Kurt than I thought. Thanks for the ask!

So yeah that oh so fun "glitch" with Meta

Yeah, so yesterday I had vented about this oh so fun fact :

After being alerted by a friend to check FB/ IG to see if you were following Trump, Melania and Vance, I was surprised to find they were there.

And sure enough on FB there at the top of my "Following" page - there they were. Did I follow them previously. No. So I deleted them.

Checked IG and the only one of the three I appeared to be following (again without choosing to do so) was Vance. So I deleted him.

That was 1/21/25.

This morning (1/22/25), checked on IG and Vance popped up again AND I found out I was now following Tump and his wife ( which I hadn't done before).

So I deleted all three on IG ( Vance for the 2nd time, the other two for the 1st time) and blocked them all (and Vance had like 3 seperate accounts that looked official I blocked the other two I wasn't made to follow just in case)

Checked FB and I wasn't made to follow the trio again - thankfully, but blocked them all as well just to be safe.

Is it going to happen to everybody - who knows . . is it only going to happen to US users - who knows.

I do know I did follow President Biden, VP Harris and Dr. Jill Biden previously on FB. Their accounts are now marked as "archived". And I'm still following those archived accounts. So it wasn't like a let's change the name of the old account or anything so the followers remain the same. So Meta just decided hey, lets all just automatically take all their followers, create a new account for the new president and cronies and make em follow them too!

Whether its a "glitch" or it was deliberate - I don't care - it's still annoying as hell. I'm hoping the blocks will keep them out of my hair for now - though I am curious because I've heard people having to repeatedly deleted them from followers. I wonder what is the highest amount of times a person has had to do it so far?

Social Media is supposed to be a curated thing. I see what I want to see and I don't want any of their bullshit on my feeds.

Its all crazy I'm already seeing that creators on TikTok ( those who have gone back) are having videos removed because of "questionable" content . . . so the censorship begins over there . . .

I've had friends already pull out of Twitter, FB and IG because of this whole mess (plus the whole stupid idea of Zuck's to stop fact checking) . . most are migrating to Bluesky . . . I'm not sure where else folks might be going to but let me know!

I know this place isn't perfect, but hopefully it'll be ok for a time . . . because I'll certainly need a place to get away from the stress of the real world by enjoying weird wild fandom shit with you people.

It's gonna be a LONG 4 years - but we'll get through it together, folks!

My brain took a few days to cook this up for you.

"I swear, I could do this routine backwards by now." Kafka complained as he reclined back against the ledge of the building they were stationed on.

The first division was running team training tactics in the practice grounds today. Him, Narumi and Kikrou were placed in a superior location on top of a building overlooking their team's flag. While Kikoru was peering down her division issued scope she placed in a wide crack in the building's roof ledge, Kafka was right next to her, watching Narumi make a fool of himself flailing his arms around in a stupid TokTik dance.

Narumi had made an account a while ago as a joke, mainly to fuel all of his crazier fans saying they wanted fresh material for thirst traps. After his account blew up, he found out that Soshiro had made one too, and was gaining followers a lot faster than he was. The two of them were now engaged in a bitter, unspoken battle for the most followers. Well, Narumi was anyway. Soshiro just kept up appearances mainly to antagonize Narumi more.

"Just leave him be. He'll drop it soon enough." Kikoru responded, more focused at what was happening at the other end of her cross hairs.

"Not with Vice Cap being effortlessly better at it than he is." Kafka snorted.

"Don't let him hear you say that." Kikoru smirked as she sniped an intruder from across the map.

The two of them listened to the music repeat a few more times, with Narumi's grunts of irritation getting louder with every pass. It was starting to look like he was having a problem getting the timing right.

"Every time he repeats that damn song, it makes me want to photo bomb him 'till he gives up." Kafka grumbled as he shifted his arms to his chest.

Kikoru pulled back from her gun from a moment as her eyebrows flexed in thought, "We could do something a lot more interesting than just photo bombing him." she said as she turned to him.

She leaned over more as Kafka matched her position, making sure her words were safely traveling into his ear. His eyes widened as he listened to her devious plan.

"We can't do that! I don't wanna hurt him." Kafka whispered harshly, but couldn't hide the smile creeping onto his face.

"Come on! His shield hasn't seen any use this fight. If you aim right, you could land him at the enemy flag and force him to participate." Kikoru giggled quietly.

The two of them looked over at Narumi, who was still oblivious to their machinations. They briefly looked back at each other and nodded in unison, silently agreeing to the plan. With a quick check with the scope to make sure this wouldn't cost them, the two of them slowly got to their feet and carefully crept up behind Narumi. Right about where the song changed to the most important part to dance to, Kafka dove down and grabbed Narumi by the leg and waist, shifting his weight through the stance and quickly threw their commander's limp body over and far away from where they were stationed. Not missing a beat, the two of them jumped into action, swaying and popping their limbs to the beat. When the song got to a good stopping point, they held the last pose for a second. Kikoru broke away first and giggled manically as she bolted for the phone, pressing the "Stop Recording" button.

"Quick! Post it before he gets back!" Kafka yelled as he went back to the building's edge to watch for signs their prank might end too soon.

"I'm trying! I'm trying!" Kikoru answered back.

Needless to say, when Narumi got a hold of them, they were heavily reprimanded using his mountainous backlog of unfinished paperwork.

Narumi angrily munched on a lobster flavored potato chip as the short video replayed on his phone screen. It had only been a day since the training video incident, but Hoshina had seemed to have come up with a way to take it and bruise his ego even more. Somehow, he had come up with a compilation of taped moments of Kafka appearing in the background of some videos from his and other people's and made a thirst trap out of them. Hoshina then paired it to the part where they had interrupted his own short and layered it with some obnoxiously high quality editing.

The worst part of it all wasn't the fact that it was now Hoshina's highest liked video, but all the accounts in the comment section he recognized were devout followers of his account. They were now commenting about how amazing it was that they finally found out some information about that "Hot DILF" that showed up in the background sometimes. Narumi understood that people could have more than one preference, but they could at least have the decency to use an alternate account? Don't they understand how damning this was to his mental state?

Just as the part where Kafka lifted the hem of is shirt to wipe his face during that one time when he was training in the gym, the man of the hour walked into the break room Narumi holed himself up in. He aggressively glared at Kafka over the top of his phone, staring so hard it could shatter glass as he made a cup of instant noodles. He even felt the familiar itching that arose when his eyes flexed and flowed into a higher state of sight, like it wanted to break the offending kaiju-man down to his most basic parts and incinerate them.

The video on his phone caught his attention again as he saw that it had started over from the beginning. Flicking his gaze between the two forms of the traitor, a half-baked plan started to form in his mind. Clicking a few buttons, Narumi linked the video he was watching to the one he was making.

"Yeah, so... it's safe to say that, uh... the vice-" he put a lot of unnecessary emphasis on that word, " captain's video about an old subordinate of his hasn't, umm, gone unnoticed. I checked a few of the comments and I saw how -fucking- many of you wanted to know more about the guy." He tried to hide his irritation about the issue, he really did, but anyone that knows about Narumi for at least over a minute could tell he was fraying at the seams over this.

"So, without further adieu, I thought I could be nice and answer some of the recurring questions I have found in the comments section." he said with a deep breath.

"First off, for those of you that can't read the fucking description, his name is Kafka Hibino." It was at this point that Kafka threw a glance over his shoulder once he heard his name. He didn't make any move to investigate further, but Narumi was sure he at least had his attention.

"His basic ASL information is that he's currently under my supervision at Division One and currently, he's my subordinate. That means if you want him, you gotta go through me first." he said with a fake, flirtatious wink.

"His sex is male, and as far as I've heard through the work grapevine, possibly somewhere on the rainbow. If you catch my drift." This time, he pointed a finger-gun to the camera. Kafka was now fully aware of what was being said and had abandoned his mid-paperwork snack to watch Narumi with wary interest.

"And uh, his age?" Narumi asked himself as he got up from his seat and casually strode over to Kafka, " His age... is THIRTY-TWO. Ya'll are thirsting over a THIRTY-TWO YEAR OLD MAN." Narumi slung his arm over Kafka's shoulder forcefully so he could be dragged into the camera's frame, " This old bastard is literally the oldest man in any division. I actually can't think of any division that has anyone older in their ranks. And this is the guy you crown as Fuckable material?"

"Now, hold on just a second-" Kafka said as he wrestled himself out of the weak arm lock, "I am not the oldest! Literally every department head is much older than I am! And why the fuck should my age have any problem with whether or not people find me attractive?"

Narumi angled the camera so that it fully faced Kafka and made his voice sound muffled as it came from behind the phone, "I meant, like, foot soldier level. No other division has a person in the ground division that's as old as you are. And it doesn't change the fact that you're so old and-well, I'm assuming romantically inexperienced, to the point that it gave you fucking superpowers. Which, on its own, is pretty depressing."

Kafka gave Narumi the dirtiest sneer he could as he picked up a coke bottle from the counter, "Listen here, Sir. I don't know what kind of game it is you're trying to play here, but I don't take kindly to you trying to spread wrong information. Because for starters, You're a Captain and that is both wrong and illegal. Second, that's not what gave me powers and you know it. And third, does this look romantically inexperienced to you?"

Kafka then brought the unopened coke bottle close to his mouth and stuck out his tongue. It became very obvious very quickly that the length of his tongue was unnatural, especially when its needle-point tip wrapped itself around the plastic bottle lid. With very little effort, the tongue cracked the lid off and almost teasingly spun it off the bottle. Still using the tip, Kafka took the cap off and brought it into his mouth before spitting the cap across the room directly into an open trash can. The camera quickly spun around to face a very pale and shocked Narumi, leaving the phone slightly shaking in his hand for a few seconds.

"So, uhh..umm. You-you're not s-supposed to show off your powers-uhm... live? On camera." Narumi said quietly as he nervously licked his lips.

"Is... Is that not a recording?" Kafka asked nervously.

"Well, I mean, technically? It's more of a... I-I'm live streaming..." Narumi stuttered back with the camera still facing him. There was a tense pause before anyone responded.

"WELL, GUESS WHO'S FUCKING PROBLEM THAT IS?" Kafka shouted as he launched the open bottle of coke at his captain, drenching his head in the sticky drink.

A series of events when by quickly. First, Hoshina paired together the clip of Kafka opening the drink and its immediate aftermath with a nearly minute-thirty long recording of him laughing so hard he fell to the floor. Second, Narumi and Kafka were both stuck in separate meetings about cyber security and steps to take to prevent this from happening again. And finally, a massive outpouring of desperate women (and some men) all commenting and reacting to the video. All of them fell in to the same line of questioning; That being-

"Can I have his number?"

Well I call it a Saturday well spent.

💖 Day 3.5 is now available! 💖

For the last couple of months, only Server Boosters had access to the 3.5 update... Buuuuut now it's available for everyone to play in the 14DWY Discord — and soon itch.io once I'm happy with the QA and state of the game — so please don't feel pressured to join unless you want to!!

What's been added to the 3.5 version?

📺 Streamer Mode!

I've been told that it's difficult to stream and monetise age-restricted videos on YouTube and Twitch, so I added an option to remove the sexual content and strong language used in the demo.

Now y'all can invite Ren into your bed for cuddles without putting your streamer career on the line /silly /lh

This won't affect the 18+ rating or dark themes/elements of the game, however! Although Streamer Mode will prevent you from seeing any "gruesome" CGs in the future, most of the core elements of the game will still be tied to the choices and decisions you make. So you won't miss out on the overall experience by using streamer mode!!

⚙️ Custom Pronouns!

It only took me one entire year to get around to it, but you can finally choose your own preferred pronouns (or use a set of pronouns instead)... At the cost of being able to change them mid-game ^^;

Since the original pronoun screen wouldn't update until a new scene was displayed, I temporarily disabled the feature. But once I find a workaround, I'll bring it back!

💗 Choose how others perceive you!

You can now choose how the cast and narration perceive you! Originally, the narration was kept strictly gender-neutral (outside of pronouns and genitalia picked by the player), but this will soon change in future updates.

For more clarity: you don't get to choose the words specifically, but you can choose between masculine, feminine, and androgynous terms!

📋 Separate top and bottom genitalia!

You can now choose your tatas and pps separately! >:3

Alongside that, you can also choose your preferred body type!

I removed the "both" genitalia option because a few players still assumed it was an obscure version of "intersex". That wasn't my intention and I don't want to mislead anyone, so I took it out for now ^^;

I also didn't want to include a screenshot of the new genitalia choices in action (because it's NSFW), so y'all get the same character menu screen for the nth time instead lmao

📱 Relationship Screen Overhaul!

You can now change your own status for more immersion, and long-term Server Boosters will eventually be able to submit and use their own icon within the game as well!

Stalking finding your friends has now become easier by using "Buddy Maps"; a new app that allows you to see the location of all the cast members!

I want to offer players more incentive to check the relationship screen since they tend to miss the status updates, so hopefully this might help ;v;

It also says it "updates every few hours" so folks don't go overboard and check every 5 seconds to see where Ren is gdsghf (also keep in mind that he's a hacker lol)

🖤 Additional Scenes Update!

Day 2 received a brand new CG!!!!! Originally, I planned on only adding a few CGs sporadically throughout the game, but it didn't feel right to leave Day 2 so... empty... so I added a brand new CG to (hopefully) make things feel more balanced and natural!

If you decline Teo's offer on Day 3, Leon will now call and try to convince you to reconsider. However, players are still allowed to decline, and if they do, they'll reach a dead end.

After listening to feedback on itch, I changed some of the dialogue during Days 1-3 to make it seem more consistent! They're only small changes though, so it's honestly not worth looking for sdgjssga

🎶 Updated BGM and SFX!

I wanted to try out a different style of music to see if it fits the vibe of 14DWY more! The BGM features more acoustics to suit the "beachy" theme of Corland Bay, though I made a conscious effort to include piano elements as well to stay true to the original!!

I figured it'd be better to give players a live example before I make a poll (to see if they prefer the change or not) and publish it to Itch.

Some new SFX have also been added, though it's very minimal and honestly not that noticeable.

How to download and play the update?

(warning: clicking on the following links will open Discord!!) To download the Day 3.5 update, simply join the 14DWY Discord server, verify your age, and visit the "14dwy-updates" channel!

Alternatively, you can also wait until the update is publicly released on Itch to play it as well!! (It normally gets released shortly after a round of QA testing/getting feedback from the server, though I may release it earlier if I feel like it hehe ^^)
