okay, so. OP i hope you don't take this as me getting upset, i just get super passionate about pokemon and need to explain to everyone in the audience why most people did not think to do this.
first is the most obvious thing like. it came down to arrogance right? the leaders before this were some of the biggest pushovers in pokemon history. falkner and bugsy. another point is that a lot of people don't really want to use pokemon from past gens unless they REALLY love them.
any way it's time to go over the type of team most trainers would've had at this point. you got your starter, you got your pikachu/mareep, free eevee, flying, and bug poke.
now. here's the problem: barring chikorita (who takes not very effective) and totodile/eevee (takes regular damage), EVERYONE on this team is weak to rock. also who would've guessed a gym leader would have type coverage?? actually. this is a good time to bring up the crown jewel: this ABSOLUTELY ingenious setlist and break it down:
Stomp: a 65 base power move and 30% chance to flinch. not only that, but it's a STAB move making the moves power closer to 98. yeah.
Attract: a status move that has a 50% chance of working every turn. to make things worse, your starter (who would normally be doing the most heavy lifting) is very likely to be male.
Milk Drink: basically just recover/soft-boiled/roost (ok so roost is a bit different) which is VERY GOOD. 50% of max health is even better than any potion you would have access to at this point. also wanted to point out but if you slapped whiney's clefairy before she had a chance to heal it, that means when you FINALLY managed to whittle milktank's health down, she could just heal it with her two potions as well but. why would she at that point when she's got MILK DRINK.
ROLLOUT: oh god. so. it comes to this. here is all the numbers and information on pokemondb.net which i will post now and we can all boggle at the absurdity of these numbers:
so yeah. as you can see the big problem is even when you switch out your pokemon into another one, even if it's something with high defense, as long as the move hits, it has a chance of a OHKO.
(btw in hgss miltank is level 19 instead but in exchange holds a lum berry. just in case you wanted to like. paralyze it or something you gotta do it AGAIN)
miltank is a pokemon that does not evolve so i guess the best way is to describe it is that pokemon with no evolutions have some pretty strong base stats compared to ones that have yet to evolve fully.
here's an estimation of what the machop you would trade IF it was the same level as miltank:
and here's quilava (the starter i chose):
ok, not bad-
NOW THIS IS MILTANK:
as you can see, even if your pokémon were a few levels higher, they're still at a disadvantage here. machop has some low base stats so unless you train and evolve it, its STILL going to be a battle as a turn 4-5 rollout can most likely oneshot it. this is why, for speed runners or nuzlocks the beginning is almost always the hardest just in terms of your options being severely limited and shit like this.
an way just to close this out but this post really unlocked another interesting memory in me. you need drowzee to trade for the machop and like. drowzee in joto was MY FIRST shiny pokemon and i captured it on route 34. i didn't know what it was, but it LOOKED special. reading this post, i wonder if i was looking for drowzee specifically for this purpose?
idk about y'all but when i was playing pokemon as a baby, i did not know defense and special defense were separate. or attack and special attack for that matter, i just saw a move and clicked on it. flame wheel looks cool on quilava and has a higher number than ember, so im keeping it. even though it's attack stat is the weaker of the two. so yeah. machop is the closest to a "hard counter" we would've had for miltank but fortunately whitey's strategy really only works the one time. the best thing to do was level up your pokemon or catch a heracross or quagsire. for full transparency, whitney is the only time i've ever been bested by the game's AI (not counting battle frontier...) but i think that's awesome. it taught me to become more diverse and creative with my movesets. any way i just think breaking stuff down like this is a lot of fun, and i always find it interesting when a community of people all had the same experience.
wait hold on yall didnt just use the machop that resists rollout, is immune to attract from female pokemon, can ko normal-types in like two hits if you just train it a little, and is basically given to you for free in the very same city you fight whitney????

"Our little mistletoe" day 2/4
no outbreak!joel miller x f!reader
summary: You got sick during the week of Christmas. Unable to leave home, Joel brings Christmas to you, and some feelings are confessed.
wc: 6,3>
warnings: just fluff. (Yes, no angst.)
a/n: welcome to the second day of my joel's fic christmas version event. Perhaps, PERHAPS I will add one more day to this mini event. Thank you so much for the love on the day one of this mini event! So glad you lived that one. â„ïžâ„ïž It's funny that at the same time, I'm writing this, I'm sick, but instead of cozy blankets and cold weather, here it's hot. I need Joel to come and save me. I don't know if you're gonna like this one as much as the fic one, i hope you like it though. Happy reading đ
By this time of the day, you would have been already on Joelâs house, helping him to get everything ready for tonightâs dinner. Setting some last-minute decorations with Sarah that he always had forgot to put on display inside the house.
You werenât the biggest fan of Christmas or travelling during these holidays, but you always had put a show for him, especially for Sarah since she was a little kid.
And he loved that. He loved it so much.
The way you belonged to his house, the way your skin seemed to glow under the twinkling lights, the smile you grace when he was opening the gift you had delicately chose for him.
Or the way you smelled like sweet pastries
You, just you.
You were his favorite part of the holidays and of life itself. You were woven into every tradition, every memory that mattered. From the moment you stepped into his life, you'd filled spaces he hadn't even known were empty.
Joel watched as you carefully adjusted a wreath over the fireplace, your fingers lingering to straighten the ribbon just so. Sarah had darted into the kitchen to check on the cookies, leaving the two of you in the soft glow of the Christmas tree.
âThink it looks alright?â you asked, turning to him with a smile that knocked the wind out of his chest.
âLooks perfect,â he murmured, but he wasnât talking about the wreath.
You laughed, shaking your head as if you could brush off his intensity. âYou always say that.â
ââCause itâs always true,â he replied, voice low and warm.
You turned back to the decorations, but Joel kept his eyes on you, taking in the way you fit into this moment as though you were meant to be here all along.
It wasnât just Christmas. It was you. It had always been you.
Joelâs thoughts came back to the present moment as worry nagged him. He checked on his phone, the last message he had sent you remained there, not even seen.
Joelâs thumb hovered over the screen, his brow furrowing as he stared at the text.
You on your way yet? Sarah's been asking for you.
The read receipt hadnât popped up, and that alone was enough to set him on edge.
You were never late, especially not for Christmas dinner.
The sound of laughter floated from the kitchen as Sarah shouted something about burnt cookies, but Joel couldnât focus. His gut twisted with a sense of unease he couldnât shake. He stood, pacing toward the window, glancing out at the driveway that remained empty.
He checked the time. It wasnât like you to keep him waiting.
Pulling his coat off the hook, Joel stepped out onto the porch. The cold air bit at his skin, but it didnât matter. He needed to do something, anything. The world felt too still, too quiet without you in it.
He dialed your number, pacing back and forth as the phone rang. Once. Twice. Three times. Then it went to voicemail.
Joel ran a hand down his face, gripping the back of his neck as his heartbeat picked up.
âWhere the hell are you?â he muttered under his breath, glancing at his phone again.
Just as he was about to call again, the door behind him creaked open, and Sarah peeked out, a worried look on her face.
âDad? Everything okay?â she asked.
Joel forced a smile he didnât feel. âYeah, sweetheart. Just...waitinâ for her. You know how the roads can get this time of year.â
Joel barely had time to answer Sarahâs question when the sound of tires crunching against cobblestones pulled his attention. He turned toward the driveway to see Tommyâs truck rolling in, headlights cutting through the early winter dusk. Relief warred in his chest.
Tommy stepped out of the truck, shaking off the cold as he made his way to the porch. "Merry Christmas eve, big brother," he called, his usual smirk in place. But it faltered when he got a good look at Joelâs face. "Whatâs with the long face? Something happened?"
Joel didnât waste time. âI need you to stay here with Sarah.â
Tommy blinked, confused. âWhat? Why? Ainât this the time weâre all supposed to be gatheringâ âround the tree, singingâ carols or whatever?â
âI think somethinâ mightâve happened,â Joel admitted referring to you, his tone heavy with worry. âShe isnât here yet. Ainât answerinâ my messages or calls, and that just...ainât her.â
Tommyâs playful demeanor vanished, replaced by quiet seriousness. âAlright. Iâll stay. Go find her.â
Joel gave him a firm nod, patting his shoulder in thanks before grabbing his keys and heading for his truck. He was halfway down the driveway, his mind already running through the possibilities, car trouble, icy roads, something worse, when his phone buzzed on the seat beside him.
He swerved to a stop, snatching the phone up. It was you.
âHey,â he answered, his voice sharp with worry. âWhere the hell are you? Are you alright?â
There was a long pause on the other end, and then your voice came through, soft and raspy. âIâm so sorry, Joel. I overslept. I think Iâm coming down with something.â
Joel exhaled sharply, a mix of relief and concern flooding through him. âJesus, you scared the hell outta me. You couldâve called sooner.â
âI know,â you murmured, guilt laced in your tone. âI didnât want to ruin your Christmas eve or worry you. I just...I feel awful.â
Joelâs grip on the phone tightened as he pulled off the road, parking his truck. âRuin my Christmas eve?â he echoed, his voice softening. âYouâre the only part of it I care about.â
There was a pause on your end, and Joel could imagine the way youâd be biting your lip at his words. âIâm sorry, Joel. I really wanted to be there, but I barely can keep myself up.â
âYou donât gotta apologize. You just sit tight, alright?â Joel's voice was firm but gentle, there was a lace of disappointment hanging there, but because of the thought of you spending all this night alone. "Iâll figure it out. Just rest, okay? Iâll check on you later."
You let out a tired sigh, tinged with a hint of guilt. "Okay. Merry Christmas eve, Joel. Tell Sarah Iâm sorry."
Joelâs chest tightened at how small your voice sounded, the strength you usually carried replaced by exhaustion. "Merry Christmas eve, darlinâ. Just take care of yourself, alright?"
He ended the call, staring at his phone for a moment before slipping it into his pocket. The engine idled quietly as Joel sat there, the glow of his truckâs dashboard lights illuminating his face. You might have been stuck at home, but that didnât mean you had to spend Christmas Eve alone.
A plan had come up to his mind.
He swung the truck around, heading back toward the house with a sense of purpose. When he pulled into the driveway, Tommy was waiting on the porch, bundled in his coat, a questioning look on his face.
"Everything alright?" Tommy asked as Joel climbed out.
âSheâs sick,â Joel said, already heading toward the front door. "Ainât coming over."
Tommy frowned. "Then why are you back? Givinâ up that easy?"
Joel shot him a pointed look as he stepped inside. "Hell no. Weâre taking Christmas to her."
Sarah popped her head out from the kitchen, her face lighting up when she saw her dad. "Sheâs not coming?"
"Not feelinâ well," Joel explained as he grabbed a couple of boxes of decorations from the living room. "But that donât mean sheâs missinâ out."
Sarah grinned, catching on to his plan. "You mean weâre bringing all this to her place?"
"Damn right we are," Joel said, already sorting through the things heâd need. "Grab the cookies, the rest of the food and some of the lights."
Tommy let out a low chuckle, shaking his head. "Youâre really doinâ this, huh?"
Joel shot him a look that said everything. "All of us, Tommy. Come onâ
Tommy raised an eyebrow, his smirk fading as realization dawned. âWait, me too?
Joel didnât even pause as he grabbed another box of lights. âYouâre cominâ. Youâre part of this family, ainât you?â
Tommy smiled, following Joel into the kitchen, where Sarah was already busy wrapping up the food with a determined look on her face. âFine, but donât blame me if I eat half those cookies on the way.â
âYou do, and youâre walkinâ,â Joel shot back, his voice teasing but his pace relentless.
Within minutes, the truck was packed to the brim. Lights, food, decorations, everything that screamed Christmas was crammed into the back. Joel stood by the truck, taking a deep breath, his hands on his hips as he looked over the load.
âThink sheâll like it?â Sarah asked, her smile lighting up her face.
Joel turned to her with a small smile, his tone soft. âSheâll love it, baby girlâ
âAlright, letâs go before I change my mind about this,â Tommy muttered, climbing into the passenger seat.
As Tommy settled into the passenger seat, he rummaged through one of the bags heâd grabbed last minute from the house. A sly grin spread across his face as he pulled out a small sprig of mistletoe, holding it up between two fingers.
âDonât forget about this, big brother,â he said, his tone dripping with mischief as he waved it in Joelâs direction.
Joel glanced over, narrowing his eyes. âWhat the hell are you doinâ with that?â
Tommy shrugged, clearly enjoying himself. âFigured youâd want it. Never know when it might come in handy. You will Kiss her tonight, brotherâ
Joel rolled his eyes, though the heat creeping up his neck betrayed him. âTommy, donât start.â
âIâm just sayinâ.â Tommy leaned back, twirling the mistletoe like it was some kind of trophy. âYouâre doinâ all this for her, haulinâ Christmas across town like some kinda lovesick Santa Claus. Might as well seal the deal.â
âTommy,â Joel warned, his voice low and pointed. âThis ainât about that.â
âOh, sure,â Tommy said, his grin widening. âJust about spreadinâ some holiday cheer, huh? Totally normal to pack up half your house for a âfriend.ââ He made air quotes with his fingers, earning a laugh from Sarah in the backseat.
âUncle Tommyâs got a point, Dad,â Sarah chimed in, her voice light but playful. âI mean, you like her, right? Why not just go for it?â
Joel gripped the wheel a little tighter, his jaw working as he tried to come up with a response that wouldnât give Tommy and Sarah even more ammunition. âAinât the time for that,â he muttered.
Tommy leaned forward, mistletoe still in hand. âOh, come on, Joel. Youâre already playinâ the hero tonight. Donât tell me youâre gonna chicken out now.â
Joel shot him a glare, but Tommy just laughed. âYouâre impossible,â Joel muttered, snatching the mistletoe from his brotherâs hand and tossing it onto the dashboard.
âJust keep it handy,â Tommy said with a wink. âYouâll thank me later.â
Joel shook his head, but the teasing didnât stop the thought from creeping in. The mistletoe sat there, a quiet challenge he wasnât quite ready to face, as they drove toward your house.
You had just started to drift off, the ache in your head and the warmth of your blankets pulling you under, when a knock at the door jolted you awake. At first, you thought youâd imagined it, but there it was again, a firm, familiar rhythm that made your heart stutter.
Groaning softly, you pushed yourself up, wrapping the blanket tighter around your shoulders as you shuffled toward the door. The pounding in your head didnât do much to help the confusion swirling in your mind. Who would be here at this hour?
You opened the door a crack, peeking out cautiously, only to have your breath catch in your throat.
Joel stood there, snow dusting his hair and jacket, his arms holding a box full of things that looked suspiciously festive. Behind him, Sarah and Tommy were standing by the truck, each holding their own share of decorations and food.
âJoel?â you croaked, your voice rough from the scratchiness in your throat.
âHey,â he said softly, his eyes sweeping over you with concern. âYou look like hell.â
âWow, thanks,â you muttered, pulling the blanket closer around you. âWhatâre you doing here?â
âBringinâ Christmas to you,â he said simply, like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Your mouth opened, but no words came out. Joel took the opportunity to step inside, brushing past you gently as he carried a box of decorations toward your living room. Sarah and Tommy followed suit, grinning like conspirators as they set down their own loads of holiday cheer.
âWait, wait,â you protested, your head spinning as you tried to keep up. âYou didnât have to do this.â
âNo,â Joel said, turning to face you, his expression warm but resolute. âBut I wanted to. You shouldnât spend Christmas alone, sick or not.â
Sarah appeared at your side, holding a plate of cookies wrapped in foil. âWe made these for you! Well, Dad baked themâ
âDid you bake them?â You asked, recieiving the plate from Sarah.
âNo, I bought them, really. I made Sarah believe I was bakingâ he replied, without giving himself credit.
âSuch a fakeâ you said, but you couldnât help the small laugh that escaped you, though it quickly turned into a cough. Joel was at your side in an instant, his hand on your back, steadying you.
âCâmon,â he said, guiding you gently toward the couch. âSit down. Let us take care of this.â
âJoel,â you began, your voice hoarse but filled with emotion, âyou really didnât have toââ
âI did,â he cut you off, his tone leaving no room for argument. His eyes softened as he looked at you, and for a moment, the chaos of the room faded into the background. âYouâre part of this, part of us. Always have been. So, yeah, I did.â
You blinked at him, your chest tightening with something that wasnât just the cold. Before you could respond, Tommy called out from the kitchen.
Before you could say anything, Tommyâs voice broke through the moment, his tone dripping with playful mischief.
âWell, look at this,â he drawled, stepping closer with the infamous sprig of mistletoe in his hand. âYâknow, Iâve been thinkinâ. She looks at you like youâre her Christmas miracle, Joel. Might as well give her a reason to keep starinâ.â
Joel groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose. âTommy, donâtââ
But Tommy was already moving. With the precision of a man who lived to be a menace, he slipped the mistletoe into the back pocket of Joelâs jeans, patting it smugly as if heâd completed a masterpiece.
âThere,â Tommy declared, looking incredibly pleased with himself. âNow youâre carryinâ it everywhere, just in case the moment strikes. Plus,â he added with a wink in your direction, âI think someone else here might be on board with this idea.â
Your face burned as the attention shifted to you, and you quickly glanced away, pretending to be fascinated by the pattern on the blanket youâd pulled over your lap.
âTommy,â Joel growled, his voice a low warning.
âWhat?â Tommy said, holding his hands up in mock innocence. âIâm just tryinâ to help. I mean, come on, big brother. Donât act like she ainât got that same look youâve been sportinâ for years now.â
âTommy,â Joel repeated, but there was a faint flush creeping up his neck now.
You managed to peek up at Joel, your heart thudding painfully in your chest. Tommyâs teasing words mightâve been delivered with a smirk, but there was truth buried in them.
Joel caught your gaze, and for a split second, everything else seemed to fade.
âAlright, enough,â Joel said finally, dragging a hand down his face as he shot Tommy a glare. âDonât you have somethinâ better to do?â
âNot really,â Tommy quipped, sauntering off toward the pile of lights heâd been working on.
As the room filled with Sarahâs chatter and the sound of Christmas music Tommy had turned on, Joel lingered by your side, looking equal parts exasperated and amused.
âDonât pay him any mind,â he murmured, his voice soft enough that only you could hear. âHeâs just talkinâ nonsense.â
But when you glanced down at the faint hint of green peeking from his back pocket, you couldnât help but wonder if maybe, just maybe, Tommy wasnât entirely wrong.
As the evening wore on, the laughter and warmth filling your small home was everything you hadnât realized you needed. The twinkling lights Joel and Sarah had strung up bathed the room in a soft glow, and the scent of cookies and food mingled with the piney aroma of the small tree Tommy had managed to haul inside.
But as much as you loved the idea of them bringing Christmas to you, the pounding in your head refused to let up. You tried to hide it, smiling and laughing as Sarah excitedly talked about different things, but she was too perceptive for her own good.
âAre you okay?â Sarah asked gently, her brows furrowing as she leaned closer to you on the couch.
You waved her off with a weak smile. âIâm fine, sweetheart. Just a little tired, thatâs all.â
Sarah wasnât convinced. She glanced over at Joel, who was mid-conversation with Tommy about fixing the uneven lights on the tree. âMaybe we should let her rest,â Sarah said softly, her concern evident. âWe can go back home. Itâs been such a nice night already.â
âNo,â you said quickly, sitting up straighter despite the dull ache in your head. âI donât want you to leave. Youâve already done so much, and I couldnât bear the thought of you packing everything up after all this effort.â
Joel turned his head at the sound of your voice, his eyes narrowing as he took in your pale complexion. âYou sure, darlinâ? You look like you could use some quiet.â
âIâm sure,â you insisted, though the words came out weaker than you intended. âYouâve made this place feel like Christmas. Stay. Please.â
Tommy smirked from where he was fiddling with the ornaments. âGuess that settles it. Looks like weâre havinâ a sleepover.â
Sarahâs face lit up. âReally? We can stay?â
You nodded, giving her a reassuring smile. âOf course. Thereâs plenty of room.â
Joel rubbed the back of his neck, his gaze flicking between you and Sarah. âAlright, but only if you promise to tell me if youâre feelinâ worse. I mean it.â
You nodded, touched by the concern in his voice.
âWell,â Joel said, clapping his hands together. âIf weâre stayinâ, how âbout a movie? Somethinâ Christmas-y.â
Sarah practically bounced in her seat. âHome Alone!â she suggested immediately.
Tommy groaned. âHavenât we seen that one a hundred times?â
âExactly,â Sarah retorted, grinning.
Joel chuckled and looked at you. âWhat dâyou think?â
You leaned back into the couch, grateful for the blanket Sarah had draped over you earlier. âHome Alone sounds perfect.â
Sarah bounced up from the couch, eager to grab snacks and drinks for everyone. As she passed Joel, she flashed him a mischievous smile. "You can sit by her now, dad," she said, her voice teasing. "She's gonna need someone to keep her warm."
Joel gave her a mock glare, but there was a warmth in his eyes as he stood up and made his way toward the couch. He carefully settled beside you, just close enough that you could feel his presence, but not so close that it felt intrusive. He was getting really nervous about your company tonight in a way his heart seemed to explode at the thought of touching you.
âComfy?â he asked quietly, his eyes scanning your face for any signs that you were still struggling. His hand rested on the couch cushion next to yours, as if he was just waiting for the right moment to reach for you if you needed him.
You smiled faintly, grateful for his care. âYeah,â you whispered, your voice still a bit rough. âThanks for staying. This... this means a lot.â
He glanced at you, his gaze softening. âYouâre not gonna get rid of me that easily, darlinâ.â There was a tenderness in his voice that made your heart flutter despite the headache.
You shifted slightly on the couch, the warmth of his presence comforting, and without thinking, you leaned in closer, resting your head gently on his shoulder. You could feel the muscles in his arm tense slightly, but he didnât pull away. Instead, he shifted just enough to make sure you were comfortable, his warmth enveloping you like a protective blanket.
For a moment, you simply listened to the sounds of the movie and the gentle chatter of Sarah and Tommy, feeling the steady rise and fall of Joelâs breath beneath your ear. The headache was still there, pounding softly in the background, but having Joel so near helped ease the tension in your body, his steady presence grounding you.
Joelâs hand, which had been resting on the cushion beside you, slowly moved. At first, it just hovered near your shoulder, but then, as though asking permission, it settled softly on your arm. His touch was gentle, a silent reassurance that he was there, that he wasnât going anywhere.
"Is this okay?" he asked quietly, his voice low, barely louder than the sound of the movie.
You nodded slightly, not trusting yourself to speak. His presence, his warmth, it was exactly what you needed, even if you hadnât realized it before. You allowed yourself to sink further into him, feeling a small sense of peace settle over you.
Joelâs hand tightened just slightly, not enough to be uncomfortable, but enough to remind you that he was there.
Iâm here, and Iâm not leaving.
The steady rhythm of Joelâs breath, the warmth of his body next to yours, and the gentle hum of the movie in the background all worked together to lull you into a calm, peaceful state. Your eyelids grew heavier with each passing second, the exhaustion from the day and the pounding headache making it harder to stay awake.
As you settled deeper into the couch, Joelâs presence became the anchor that kept you grounded, and before you knew it, you drifted off, your breathing slowing into a relaxed, steady pattern. The last thing you were aware of was the comforting weight of his arm around you, pulling you just a little bit closer, as if he too was holding onto this moment, savoring the peace and quiet that you shared together.
Joel didnât say anything as you fell asleep. He simply let you rest, his hand lightly stroking your arm as he made sure you were comfortable, his gaze softening as he looked down at you. His heart swelled with a tenderness that made him afraid of his feelings.
As you slept peacefully, nestled against Joel, the soft glow of the Christmas lights cast a warm hue across the room. The only sound was the low hum of the movie playing in the background and the occasional shift of movement from the others.
Tommy, who had been lounging on the armchair, glanced over at the two of you with a smirk. He was doing his best to stifle a laugh, but it was clear he couldnât resist.
âWell, well,â Tommy teased quietly, âYou look adorable together.â
Joelâs eyes flicked to Tommy, a mix of annoyance and something else flickering in his gaze. He could get used to spend every day with you like this. Â âShut up, Tommy,â he muttered under his breath, but his tone was far from harsh. He didnât want to wake you, not when you were so peacefully resting.
Joel shot him a warning look, but the corners of his lips tugged into a smile despite himself. âYouâve got a hell of a way of making things awkward,â he grumbled, but it was clear he wasnât bothered by the teasing.
Meanwhile, Sarah had curled up on the floor with a blanket, her eyes already fluttering closed. She was tired from the dayâs events, her excitement finally catching up to her.
Joel looked down at you again, his hand still lightly resting on your shoulder as if unwilling to move. But then he noticed Sarah, fast asleep on the floor, and a new thought came to him.
âTommy,â Joel called quietly, nudging his brother once more. âCan you help me get Sarah to the guest room? Sheâs out cold, and I donât want her sleepinâ on the floor.â
Tommy, not missing a beat, grinned widely. âI canât believe youâre getting rid of your daughter to get a girlfriend,â he teased, winking at Joel.
Joel didnât even respond to that, his attention already on you. âJust help me, damn it,â he muttered, trying to keep the playful teasing to a minimum.
With a sigh, Tommy got up and walked over to Sarah, carefully lifting her and making sure she didnât stir. Joel remained on the couch, his heart still racing from the tenderness of the moment, silently praying that you wouldnât wake up just yet.
As Tommy returned to the living room, he gave Joel a quick nod, signaling that Sarah was settled comfortably in the guest room. Joel looked down at you, still asleep on his shoulder, and a deep tenderness washed over him. He wasnât sure if he could carry you without waking you, but seeing you so peaceful in his arms made him want to do everything he could to keep you safe and comfortable.
He carefully lifted you, one arm gently supporting your back and the other under your knees. His movements were slow and deliberate, trying his best not to disturb you. Your soft, steady breathing was a comfort to him as he began walking toward your bedroom.
Tommy, noticing the situation, gave Joel a teasing grin. âYou sure you donât need help, Joel?â
Joel shot him a look, his usual gruffness softened by the moment. âJust keep it down, alright? Donât wanna wake her.â
Tommyâs grin only widened, but he stayed quiet, giving Joel the space he needed.
As Joel made his way into your bedroom, he gently lowered you onto the bed, making sure your head was resting comfortably on the pillow. He tucked the blanket around you, his fingers brushing against your skin for a brief moment. It wasnât much, but the way you looked so peaceful made something inside him stir, and for a second, he just stood there, watching you.
His gaze lingered on your face, tracing the soft curve of your features, a smile tugging at his lips.
"Get some rest, darlin'," he whispered, as if the words could protect you from whatever might come next. "Iâm right here."
Joel returned to the living room, his footsteps quiet but deliberate. Tommy, who had been half-leaning on the couch with his feet up, looked up at him with a smirk. Joel wiped a hand across his face, trying to shake off the quiet weight of the night.
âIâll take the sofa,â Joel said, his voice low. âYou can take the other bed in the guest room. Itâs all set up.â
Tommy gave him an exaggerated shrug, as if to say he didnât care where he slept. âAlright, alright. Guess itâs good to be the one on the couch for once.â He stood up and stretched, heading toward the guest room Joel had pointed out. âNight, man.â
âNight, Tommy,â Joel muttered, already turning back toward the bedroom.
Once everything settled down, the house was quiet again, save for the soft sounds of the holiday decorations swaying and the occasional crackle from the fireplace. Joel moved softly, making his way back down the hall to your room, checking the time briefly as he walked. He wasnât sure why, but he felt the need to be near you, even if you were sleeping.
When he pushed open the door to your room, expecting to see you still sleeping peacefully, his heart stuttered in his chest. There you were, awake, your eyes wide, watching him from the bed. The soft light of the bedside lamp illuminated your face, casting a warm glow over your features.
For a moment, neither of you spoke, just taking in the presence of the other.
"Hey," Joel said quietly, leaning against the doorframe, his voice hoarse, like he was still trying to process the night.
You offered him a tired smile, but there was something else there too, an understanding, something deeper that only the two of you seemed to share âHow did I get here?â you asked.
Joel stepped closer, his eyes softening. âI carried you to bed.â he confessed, his voice gentle. His gaze dropped to the bed, the warmth of your presence drawing him in. âYou feeling better?â
You nodded slightly, even though you knew you werenât completely alright. But there was something about having Joel near you that made you feel just a little more at ease.
âIâm alright now," you replied, your voice barely above a whisper. "But you should get some rest too. Youâve done more than enough."
Joel stood there for a beat, as if considering what to say next. Then, he smiled softly, a trace of that quiet tenderness in his eyes. âIâll rest when I know youâre okay.â
With that, he pulled up a chair near the bed, sitting down so that he could keep an eye on you. He wasnât sure how long heâd stay there, but he didnât mind. He just needed to know you were alright.
You shifted slightly in the bed, glancing over at Joel, who was still sitting in the chair, watching you with that soft, protective look in his eyes. A small, tired smile tugged at the corner of your lips as you studied him for a moment.
"What are you doing?" you asked, your voice barely more than a whisper, the weight of the night lingering in the air between you. "You don't have to sit there all night."
Joel chuckled quietly, though it held a hint of disbelief. "I'm just making sure you're okay," he said, his voice low but reassuring. He leaned forward in the chair, resting his elbows on his knees, never taking his eyes off you. "I told you, Iâll rest when youâre alright."
You could see the exhaustion etched on his face, his shoulders slumped with the weight of the long night, but there was still that protective energy about him. You couldnât help but feel grateful, though you also felt a small ache in your chest seeing him so worn out.
âYou can sleep with me, Joel," you said, the words slipping out before you had a chance to stop them. You quickly added, "I mean, if you want to. You donât have to keep sitting there."
Joelâs expression softened as he took in your offer. He hesitated for a moment, the vulnerability in the air palpable between you two. Then, after what seemed like an eternity, he finally nodded.
"Yeah," he said quietly, his voice a little rough with emotion. "I think Iâd like that."
He stood up slowly, as if testing the idea, then moved to your side. You shifted to make room for him, pulling the blanket back slightly. As he lay down beside you, his warmth seemed to fill the room, and you could feel the tension in your chest loosen just a little.
Joel settled in beside you, not too close but close enough that you could feel his presence. His hand brushed yours, and you both let out a quiet, simultaneous sigh of relief. He shifted onto his side, facing you, his eyes scanning your face as if to make sure you were still okay.
For a long moment, neither of you spoke. The room was still, only the quiet sound of your breathing filling the space. Finally, Joelâs voice broke the silence, low and soft.
"You sure you're alright?" he asked, his thumb gently brushing over the back of your hand.
You nodded, your heart swelling with emotion as you glanced over at him. "Iâm better now," you whispered. "With you here." You paused for a moment âWhat you did tonightâŠI canât find the words to thank you.â
Joel smiled, a small but sincere curve of his lips, as he adjusted slightly, bringing you closer to him. âYou donât have to thank me,â he murmured softly, his voice warm and reassuring. âYouâre important to me.â
His words, though comforting, didnât stop the weight of your emotions from building up inside you. The closeness, the warmth of his presence, and everything that had happened tonight made your heart swell with something deeper than gratitude.
Taking a deep breath, you lifted your head slightly, your eyes meeting his with a vulnerability you hadnât shown before. âI love you, Joel,â you said, the words coming out softly but with a sincerity that made your chest ache.
Joelâs expression softened even more, his thumb still brushing lightly over your hand. âI love you too,â he whispered, his voice deep and full of emotion.
You frowned, a little pout forming on your lips as you shifted slightly. âNo, you donât understand,â you murmured, feeling the weight of the moment grow even more. âI love you. Iâm in love with you.â
The words hung in the air for a moment, almost too heavy to breathe through. Joelâs gaze softened, searching your eyes as if trying to understand what you meant. And when he did, his expression shifted, becoming more tender, more real. Before you could pull away, you buried your face in the crook of his neck, hiding from the intensity of the confession, but also seeking the comfort of his warmth.
Joelâs hand gently cradled the back of your head, his thumb still brushing through your hair as he held you close. The room was filled with a silence that seemed to stretch on forever, and then, in the softest of tones, he spoke.
âCan you repeat it?â His voice was a little rough, full of longing, but there was a hint of vulnerability there too.
You shook your head, keeping your face hidden in the crook of his neck, trying to gather the courage to meet his gaze again. The weight of your own confession was still hanging in the air, making you feel exposed and raw. You mumbled against his skin, âI canât. Itâs too much.â
Joel chuckled softly, the sound warm and comforting. He shifted slightly, pulling you back just enough to tilt your chin gently upward, so you had no choice but to look into his eyes. The tenderness there was undeniable. âThatâs bad,â he said, his voice barely above a whisper, ââcause Iâm in love with you too.â
Your breath caught in your throat, and for a moment, you could only stare at him, eyes wide with surprise. The feeling of his words settled over you, warming you from the inside out, making your heart race.
âIââ You started, but the words stuck in your throat. The vulnerability between the two of you was overwhelming, and yet, it felt like everything had finally clicked into place. There were no more doubts. No more fear.
Joel smiled softly, the warmth of his eyes never leaving yours as he leaned down, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead. âItâs okay,â he whispered. âWeâre here now.â
The weight of his words hung in the air between you, a promise, a shared truth. You closed your eyes for a moment, letting the warmth of his presence sink into your bones, the steady rhythm of his breathing grounding you. It felt like everything youâd hoped for was finally coming into focus.
Joel gently cupped your face in his hands, his thumbs brushing the softness of your skin as he looked at you, his eyes full of tenderness and something deeper. His gaze was steady, searching for any sign of doubt, but all he found was youâvulnerable, open, and more than ready for what was happening between you two.
âYouâre not alone,â he murmured, his voice low but full of meaning. âIâm not going anywhere. Iâm right here, with you.â
You let out a breath you hadnât realized youâd been holding, your heart swelling with emotions too big for words. âI know,â you whispered, a smile finally tugging at the corners of your lips. âI know now.â
Joelâs smile deepened, and in that moment, it was like the world outside of your little bubble didnât matter. All that existed was the two of you, tangled up in something more real and beautiful than you could have imagined.
He leaned in, his lips brushing against yours with the softest of touches, as if asking for permission. And when you responded, meeting him halfway, the kiss deepened, both of you tasting the sweet vulnerability of this new chapter.
You pulled away slowly, your forehead resting against his, your breaths mingling. âYouâre gonna get sick nowâ
Joel chuckled softly, his breath warm against your skin as he pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead. âIâll take my chances,â he murmured, his hands finding their way back to your waist, pulling you closer. âIâm not letting go now.â
You laughed quietly, feeling a sense of peace settle over you. âYouâre stubborn,â you said, but there was no annoyance in your voiceâjust affection.
âAnd you love me for it,â he replied with a playful grin, his thumb tracing small circles on your back.
You smirked, rolling your eyes slightly, though your heart was full. âI do,â you admitted, your voice soft, the words carrying more weight than youâd ever thought they would. âI really do.â
Joel smiled, his expression softening as he leaned in once more, brushing his lips against yours, but you placed your hand up to stop him for a moment, hanging the little mistletoe over your heads.
Joel raised an eyebrow, his lips curling into a grin as you held the mistletoe above your heads. "Where do you get that from?" he asked, amusement dancing in his eyes.
You smirked, your heart racing with a mix of excitement and mischief. "I stole it from you," you replied, your voice teasing, yet sincere.
Joel chuckled, the sound warm and full of affection. "I shouldâve known," he said, shaking his head with a playful sigh. "Youâre sneaky."
You shrugged, the mistletoe still hovering between you. "I had to make sure it was the right moment."
He chuckled again, and this time, his hands found your waist once more, pulling you close as he leaned in, his eyes softening. "Well, since you put it like that..."
With a grin, he pressed his lips to yours, the kiss deepening as you both shared in the quiet joy of the moment.
Joel pulled away just enough to look into your eyes, his expression soft and full of warmth. "You know," he said, his voice low and sincere, "youâre the best gift I could ever ask for."
You felt your heart swell, and a soft smile tugged at your lips. His words, simple yet heartfelt, made everything feel right. Before you could respond, Joelâs grin returned, playful yet tender.
"And," he continued with a teasing glint in his eyes, "I hope youâll take care of me when I inevitably get sick from all this kissing."
You raised an eyebrow, a mischievous smile forming on your lips. "Oh, donât worry," you replied, your tone light but affectionate, "Iâm more than happy to take care of you."
Joel chuckled, pulling you closer again, his arms wrapping around you like a shield. "Good," he murmured, his forehead resting against yours. "Because Iâm not going anywhere."
The warmth between you both felt like the perfect ending to a night full of new beginnings, and as he kissed you again.
And again.
And he thought he would never get tired of it.

Hay! Heh, I am a fan about your post, and i was wondering if you can do a bakugou x y/n post where they are 25 and have a 6 year old son named kanji that looks and acts like bakugou, and they are at a grocery store and kanji sees a toy and makes a BIG tantrum embarrassing Y/n, and bakugou let's out his strict father side, aka bakugou is 1 hero, so... yeah.... rich.. THANK YOU đ
đđđđ đđđđđ
you loved your husband dearlyâeven though his attitude sometimes felt like wrangling a feral cat, you couldnât imagine your life without him. katsuki was a great husband and an even better father. somehow, he managed to juggle being the number one hero, a title that came with endless demands, while still making time for you and your little family.
and then there was kanji. your six-year-old son who was, quite frankly, a miniature katsuki in every sense. the same fiery attitude, the unshakable stubbornness, the sass that could cut sharper than any blade. even the way heâd glare at peopleâit was uncanny. sometimes youâd swear you were looking at a younger version of your husband.
it wasnât just his personality, either. kanjiâs wild blond hair, sharp crimson eyes, and even the way he crossed his arms when he was annoyed? all bakugou. it was as if the universe had taken katsuki and hit the copy-paste button without consulting you first. you couldnât help but feel a little robbedâafter all, you were the one who carried him for nine months, dealt with the swollen feet, the cravings, the mood swings. and yet, kanji turned out to be a walking, talking katsuki replica.
but honestly? you didnât really mind. even when kanjiâs temper flared, or when he mimicked his dadâs bossy tone, it made your heart warm. because as much as katsukiâs attitude could be a challenge, you loved everything about him. and seeing those same traits in kanji, no matter how chaotic they made your days, was a reminder of the love the two of you had built.
you always knew how much your son looked up to his fatherâit was written all over kanjiâs face. every little thing katsuki did, kanji wanted to do, too. heâd follow katsuki around the house, mimicking his movements, copying the way he crossed his arms or the gruff way heâd say, âtchâ. kanjiâs biggest dream, even at six years old, was to be the number one hero, just like his dad. and katsuki? oh, he ate that up.
âwhen youâre older, kid, iâll show ya all the tricks.â katsuki would say, ruffling kanjiâs already messy blond hair. âiâll make sure youâre better than all those extras out there.â kanjiâs eyes would light up every time, and the two of them would launch into some over-the-top conversation about training regimens and hero rankings. their bond was undeniable, built on the same fiery ambition and drive that katsuki had passed down to him.
but with that bond came the attitude. katsukiâs attitude. and you swore sometimes it was your curse to deal with two versions of the same fiery temper under one roof. kanji had inherited more than just katsukiâs looksâhe had the same sharp tongue, the same unrelenting sass, and the same way of glaring at you like you were personally ruining his day when he didnât get his way.
you loved your son to pieces, but oh, how your patience was tested.
you swore sometimes you could feel your eye twitch when your six-year-old son had the audacity to sass you. âkanji, clean up your toys.â youâd say, only to be met with an exasperated; âugh, fine, mom. iâll do it later, jeez!â complete with an eye roll so dramatic it could win awards.
âwatch your tone, kanji.â youâd warn, and from the next room, katsuki would shout, âoi, donât be talkinâ to your mom like that, you little brat!â and yet, youâd catch him stifling a laugh when kanji wasnât looking, because deep down, katsuki knew exactly where the kid got it from.
there were days you swore you were outnumberedâtwo bakugous against one youâbut deep down, you couldnât help but love it. kanjiâs sass, as frustrating as it could be, was just another reminder of the fiery, headstrong family youâd built. even if it meant youâd occasionally lose an argument to a six-year-old.
and thatâs how you ended up in this situation. you were just trying to get through the grocery trip without any chaos. that was the goal. in and outâgrab the essentials and avoid anything that might set off your six-year-old son, kanji. but, of course, life had other plans.
everything had been going smoothly until you turned down the toy aisle, rookie mistake. kanjiâs sharp gaze zeroed in on a display of action figures, specifically a limited-edition hero toy that looked suspiciously like dynamight himself. his tiny hand grabbed your sleeve, tugging with determination.
âmom! mom! look! itâs dadâs toy! i need it!â
you gave him a soft smile, crouching down to his level. âkanji, weâre not getting toys today, baby. weâre just here for groceries. you already have tons of toys at home.â
big mistake.
his bottom lip jutted out, his eyes narrowing in frustration. âbut i donât have this one!â
before you could reason with him, he dropped to the floor in a dramatic fashion, kicking his legs and letting out an ear-piercing wail that had heads turning from all directions. your cheeks burned as you tried to calm him, murmuring soft words that fell on deaf ears.
âkanji, stop this right now.â you whispered, glancing around at the growing number of onlookers. âyouâre making a scene.â
âi donât care!â he shouted back, tears streaming down his cheeks. âi want it!â
just as you were about to give up and let the earth swallow you whole, a familiar voice cut through the chaos like a whip.
âkanji.â
you didnât even have to turn around to know who it was. katsukiâs voice was low and sharp, the kind that made grown adults flinchâand it had your son freezing mid-tantrum.
before you could say anything else, katsukiâwhoâd been a few steps behind grabbing something off the shelfâappeared, his towering figure and unmistakable presence shutting down the entire aisleâs noise. his crimson eyes narrowed as he looked at kanji.
âoi, brat. knock it off.â he barked, his voice low and firm, the same tone he used as pro hero dynamight when things got serious. kanjiâs sobs faltered for a moment, but he looked up at his dad with that same fiery determination katsuki himself had mastered.
âbut daddy! i need it!â kanji tried, sniffling dramatically.
âyou donât need it.â katsuki shot back, crossing his arms over his chest. âwhat you need is to listen to your mom and stop actinâ like a damn spoiled kid.â
kanjiâs bottom lip quivered. âbutââ
âno buts.â katsuki interrupted, crouching down to kanjiâs level. his tone softened just slightly, though his eyes stayed sharp. âyou think screaminâ and cryinâ is gonna get you what you want? not a chance. that ainât how it works. you donât get somethinâ just âcause you throw a fit. you gotta earn it, got it?â
kanji blinked up at him, his tears slowing as the weight of his dadâs words sank in. he mumbled something incoherent, and katsuki tilted his head.
âwhat was that?â
âgot it.â kanji said more clearly, wiping his face with the back of his hand.
âgood.â bakugou said, ruffling the boyâs spiky blonde hair before standing back up. he glanced at you, his expression softening slightly. âyou okay, mama?â
âyeah.â you muttered, still feeling the lingering embarrassment from the scene. âthanks for stepping in.â
he smirked, leaning down to press a quick kiss to your temple. âyouâve been dealinâ with his crap all day, huh?â
âyou have no idea.â
bakugou glanced back at kanji, who was now holding onto your leg, looking thoroughly chastised.ânow quit the damn tears and help your mom with the list.â katsuki stood up and ruffled kanjiâs messy blond hair, his version of an apology for being so harsh.
you let out a breath you didnât realize youâd been holding. katsuki turned to you with a smirk, his tone lighter now. âwhat?â
âstrict dad mode, huh?â you teased, trying not to laugh.
âdamn right. kidâs gotta learn. canât have him thinkinâ just âcause his old manâs dynamight he can get whatever he wants.â
later, as you loaded groceries into the car, you noticed katsuki handing a small bag to kanji, who lit up with excitement.
âyou bought it for him anyway?â you asked, raising a brow.
katsuki shrugged, smirking. âdonât get used to it, kid.â he said to kanji. âthis doesnât mean you get what you want every time.â
kanji nodded enthusiastically, clutching the action figure like it was the greatest treasure in the world.
you rolled your eyes, a fond smile tugging at your lips. âstrict dad, my ass.â
âhey.â katsuki shot back, pulling you closer. âi can be strict and still spoil my kid. he is a bakugou, after all.â

Even after all this time, I am still so fucking unhinged about âšboothillâš
I wrote a similar idea with Cyno from Genshin, but I just love the idea of a man going feral when their lover (aka YOU đ) gets injured in any way... or even kidnapped
Boothill would be no different- the moment he sees even the slightest scratch on your cheek, his vision goes black. He's sniffing out the bastard who dared to lay a finger on you, brutal and unwavering in his hunt that lasts from sunup to sundown. He refuses to bend until it ends with a bullet in the asshole's head- what they dared to do to you, he'll do back to them, tenfold.
And heaven forbid you end up kidnapped- a bullet in the brain wouldn't even be enough to atone for the sin of taking you away from him. The blood and gore he would spill will fill oceans; no price is unthinkable for Boothill if it means that you will return to his arms, safe and sound.
And if it's Homecoming y/n, where the two of you only just reunited after believing the other died in the tragedy of your home planet.... They might as well count their days, because they are numbered.
As in, count each second they get to keep breathing- the next one will likely be their last.
He just got you back, after spending all these years believing you to be with his family in the eternal moon lily fields, and just the thought of having you ripped away from his arms once more is enough to break him permanently.
So when he returns to the now-shared ship and you do not rush to welcome him back like you normally do, that immediately sets him on edge. And when he tears the ship apart and finds a ransom note on your bunk instead of your warm body, his cybernetic brain instantly shuts down with the sheer overload of rage and insanity that swarms his neurochip.
A petal on his beloved moon lily has been torn.
A detestable, unforgivable sin.
His body works on overdrive- it helps that he's made of metal, because he works night and day without rest until he tracks down the hideout of those bastards who thought it'd be a smart idea to take you away.
Well, he can't say they're dumb- after all, they just figured out the fastest way to an early grave.
And that's a fact you too know all too well, judging by the bloodcurdling screams echoing through the hallways leading to your cell. In fact, you're almost grateful for the blindfold over your eyes, as there's no doubt blood soaking the metal floors.
The screams slowly begin to die out, one by one, leaving only the dull thud, thud, thud of heeled metal soles headed straight for you. There's a screech of metal, then a metallic warmth surrounding you. The familiar scent of gunpowder and cedar cologne clings to your nose, and you nearly buckle into Boothill's arms, shivering and weeping, clinging onto his shoulders.
"It's alright, now," he coos, making sure to wipe the blood on his hands before scooping you into his arms. "I'm here, moon lily. I ain't goin' nowhere."
(And it wouldn't be me without just the slightest touch of suggestiveness so...)
Clean from the blood and gore, Boothill gently tucks himself under your chin, nuzzling his nose into your neck, trying to remind himself that you're still here, you're still alive, you didn't slip from his fingers yet again.
If you did, only the aeons know what would happen to him.
"You saved me yet again," you coo, rubbing at the crease in his brows. "My hero."
"Sure as fudge don't feel like one," he mumbles, arms wrapping even more tightly around you. "I almost lost you. Again. I swore it wouldn't happen again, but-"
"But nothing. You found me. I'm safe and sound 'cause of you." You kiss the top of his head, moving down to his face to pepper his cheeks and forehead with more light kisses. "My brave cowboy. I'm alive all because of you. I must be the luckiest girl in the world."
Boothill finally melts under your affectionate administrations, tilting his head to meet your lips in a sweet kiss.
But you're wrong. Boothill knows that if anything, he's the one who's the luckiest in the world. You don't hate him for letting you be taken away, nor do you cower from his bloodstained hands. Instead, you embrace him with your soft arms wide open, with your even softer lips pressing hard against his own, and warm hands that tangle though his hair to keep him closer when he tries to pull away and give you some air. He feels the luckiest when you allow him to press against you even tighter, giving him access to the deepest parts of you, letting him see your bashful face, hear your sweet gasps and moans as he comforts you in the best way he knows how.
Boothill will never ask for anything more. All he needs is for you to be right here in his arms, forever his beautiful, strong, resilient moon lily. Forever his.

Helping you sleep
-------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------
Park Jihyo x female reader
Warnings: Twice tenth member, mentions of delayed sleep phase.
Story: You can't sleep, and Jihyo helps you get some rest.
Authors note: This is a bit shorter, but I just thought this idea was cute. Enjoy the readâ„ïž
-------------------------------------------------------
Your mind can't calm down. Earlier this week, you had a meeting with your doctor. He diagnosed you with the delayed sleep phase. It's a sickness close to insomnia. Your sleep pattern is delayed, which results in drowsiness throughout the day and troubles with falling asleep as well as waking up.
Even though you now got closure on your sleeping problems, it still made your life a tad bit miserable. You noticed having trouble sleeping after staying up after your usual bedtime for a week because you were behind on homework for school.
Being an idol and still managing school was tough. It led to sleepless nights filled with homework or studying for exams. You're not a bad student, but koreas's school system also did its numbers in you.
So now you're tossing and turning with no end to it. It's like you're trapped in a specific state of mind where you're can't shut your mind down. Many thoughts race through your head and keep your brain on an all time high.
All of your band members were probably asleep, as you guys were booked for various interviews the next day. When you weren't in school, you were cramped with the idol life. Twice's fame has been growing, so the invitations for photoshoots, interviews, and collaborations kept piling up.
Your sheets rustle with every move, and it's annoying you. Your pillow is too warm, and your blanket is almost suffocating you. In one moment, the bed is too warm and in the other moments it's too cold.
Soft snores come from the other bed. Dahyun's snores sounded funny, and usually, you were amused by her sleeping sounds. Yet today, the sounds only annoyed you, and you needed the silence of the night more than anything.
â
The only silent place available is the couch in the living room. It's away from the sleeping rooms and has enough space for you to sleep on. You carry your blanket and your pillow over to the couch and settle down.
The light that shines through the windows is cold. It lights up the room just enough so that you can calm down. The living room contains many of the members' belongings. You find a sweater that belongs to jihyo. The leader of Twice usually never left clothes hanging around, so this find is rare.
The fabric still smells like her favourite perfume. Your hands bring the piece of clothing to your nose for a long inhale. Everything about your leader calmed you down. Her voice, her arms holding you, and even the faint body smell, hiding under the thick scent of her perfume.
You hold the sweater close to yourself and lie back down. Curling into a better position, you close your eyes and hope for a good and relaxing sleep.
â
Almost an hour later and still no sleep in sight.
You sigh and sit up again. Even the comforting sweater of Jihyo can't calm you down. You whine and get up. Taking a few steps on the cold floorboards helps you reach the door to your leader. She would definitely be annoyed, but that fact did not matter to you.
A soft knock followed by opening the door pulls Jihyo out of her sleep. She is an unusual light sleeper, always on the call if anyone needed her help.
Jihyo sits up and rubs her tired eyes. Her gaze focuses on your body, which is slowly moving towards her bed.
She furrows her eyebrows and scoffs slightly.
"Y/n? What is wrong?"
Her voice is raspy.
"I can't sleep."
Jihyo nods and makes space for you.
Her bed is large and fits almost three people. She sighs and drapes her blanket over you after you enter her bed.
"Did you get any sleep?"
She asks while pulling you into an embrace.
"No, maybe for a few minutes, bit other than that I've been wide awake."
Jihyo frowns and gently pecks your forehead. Her love for the younger members is huge and grows with every day. All she wants is for them to be safe and cared for.
Her hands go through your hair and calm you down. She whispers some stories of her day into your ears while trying to make you drowsy.
"Did you notice Sana burning herself today because of the noodles?"
"No. So that's why she had that little burn mark on her chin?"
"Yes. It was really funny to look at."
Jihyo laughs slightly, and you let out a small giggle. Sana's clumsy habits always pulled a laugh from the members. She lights up the room without noticing it.
Jihyo smiles and stares into your eyes. Her lips leave a small kiss on your cheek. Her promise to hating kisses is quite popular, but she would always make an exception for you.
After some time, you feel your eyes getting more heavy. The thoughts in your mind slow down and die down the more jihyo talks to you and caresses your hair.
You fall asleep a while later. Jihyo smiles and gives your head a last kiss before falling asleep herself. Her big blanket keeping you both warm and safe.
The moonlight peeks through the curtains and throws a cool but comforting light on you and Jihyo.

Hellooo for the Spotify drabble challenge
#5
đ
Hi June! Congratulations, you got So Long, London by Taylor Swift. I don't see how any of this could possibly be bad...
Little info since I didn't put the lyric in the text: this is particularly based on the line "and you say I abandoned the ship/But I was going down with it"
âCan I ask... why did you give up on us?â Willeâs voice breaks through the quiet.
Snow flurries around them, and Simon watches it for a bit, watches how it blankets the world around them. If he lets himself, Simon can almost imagine them in a different time, a different ball, a different escape that had led them to the exact same spot they're standing now: looking out over the quad while the party continues inside.
Theyâre a decade older now, and Simon likes to think heâs a decade wiser. But the wise thing wouldnât have been to follow Wille out. Yet here he is.
But a decade earlier Simon would have rolled his eyes at the question, maybe even scoffed, because how dare he even ask that? How did Wille not see how in love Simon still was? That it was never about them, that it was everything else pulling him, pulling them under.
The truth of it, though, is much simpler. So now Simon just smiles sadly at Wille, as he watches the snowflakes settle in his hair. As he sees the grooves that 10 years under the crown have etched in his face. Simon feels guilty, all of a sudden. For keeping this from him for so long, for never telling Wille how he...
Simon can feel Wille looking at him, waiting for an answer, and for some reason, he feels like heâs laid bare.
âI never gave up, Wille.â He looks back out over the quad, unable to look at Wille as he admits what he'd carried for years. âDo you remember the last time we saw each other? You told me ââ
âTo have a good summer.â Wille lets out a bitter chuckle. âYeah, I remember.â
âI... part of me had hoped that you'd stop me. Ask me to stay, to just give us one more chance. That youâd... youâd realize how being Crown Prince was killing you. I had hoped that breaking up with you would make you see that.
âAnd then when you didn't, I had this fantasy that you'd run after the car.
âI know it's silly. And dumb. But I pictured you somehow catching up and asking me again, and I ... I would have said yes, Wille.
âAnyways,â Simon continues in a much lighter tone, as if he hasnât imagined that scenario over and over again for the last ten years. As if admitting this isnât the hardest thing he's ever done. âWhen you didn't I realized that this was the life you chose, Crown and Country, and that I had no place in it."
âIt would have killed you.â Willeâs voice is strained, like itâs taking every ounce of self-control he is to get the words out, but still, Simon can hear the surprise, the disbelief.
Simon laughs, half-heartedly, puffs of white in front of him. âYeah. It would have.
âBut maybe,â and at this, Simon takes a deep breath, âmaybe it would have been worth it. To be with you.â
He swallows thickly, past the lump on his throat, and looks up at Wille. Wille, who's staring at him with wide eyes, whose voice is barely audible when he asks, âdo you still believe that?â
Simon nods.

You were one of the first to sign up for volunteer work with the Kayunu tribe in Africa. Youâd read about their customs, and wanted to experience it all for yourself.
Even for the territory, Kayunu society was incredibly male-dominated. Men held every position of power, and total control over their women. The average Kayunu man had 3 wives, with total power over they dressed, acted and spoke. Most women spent their time in a submissive silence.
There was no restriction regulating what a husband could make his wife do - as soon as the match was confirmed, he could rent her pussy out for $1 a pop, beat her until she was a broken mess or make her walk the streets naked and no one would bat an eyelid.
On your first night, you attended a tribal festival. Men were everywhere, showing off their women. One guy walked past with three teenage wives trailing behind, wearing crotchless skintight latex suits. Another sat nearby, his two wives in blue jeans, sneakers and no tops, perky tits and hard nipples exposed to the warm air.
As the night wore on, you spied Munni, daughter of a chieftain and the most beautiful woman you had yet seen. The 18 year old was dressed modestly, but even then you could tell she had the biggest tits youâve ever seen. Her chocolate-dark skin and big brown eyes enamoured you, and you devoted yourself to claiming her.
To marry a Kayunu woman, you simply needed to negotiate and pay a bride price with her father. Once the money changed hands, she was yours. Munniâs father knew her worth; her big tits and social pedigree were great bargaining chips, but the weakness of the local currency meant you could afford basically any price. You settled on $120 for his daughter, and soon enough she was all yours to play with.
Having bought her, you pulled Munni off to a dark corner and quickly deflowered her. Her stifled moans made you throb as you pushed inside her, balls slapping against her ample ass as her tits bounced around with each thrust. You pulled out, pushed her to her knees, grabbed the back of her head and fucked her mouth until you came, ordering her to swallow. You then tore her remaining clothes from her body, leaving her naked and humiliated for all to see.
As the festival died down, there were still a number of poor, homeless or otherwise unmarried men around, and an idea dawned. Ordering your new naked sex slave to lay on her back with her legs spread, you called the various single men to join you. You told them that they could fuck this high-class girl for as long as they liked, in any hole they liked, as long as they came on her body or face. They eagerly took you up on that offer, and soon your 18 year old bride was suffering a hard double penetration, her face dripping with her social inferiorsâ cum. One man was molesting her boobs, groping and slapping them, whilst another was pushing his fingers in and out of her mouth, stretching her full lips.
A gasp arose from the crowd when a young man approached, leading a large goat by the collar. The animal already had an erect penis, and was clearly in heat. The man looked to you for your consent, whilst Munniâs eyes widened with horror and fear, her head subtly shaking âplease noâ. You nodded consent, and another cheer arose.
After being fucked for so long, Munniâs pussy was gaping and moist. The goatâs extended cock easily found its mark, and soon she was staring at the stars with tears streaking down her face as she was raped by the animal. Covered in cum and reduced to the playtoy of a beast, all she could do was lay there and try not to break mentally until her ordeal was finished.
As you watched the goat rut in Munni, another man approached you. âI work for a rival tribe. We want this one for ransom. Iâll give you $300 if you hand her over to us nowâŠâ he offered.
Manni, with the goatâs cock still buried against her cervix, piped up, her eyes full of panic: âHusband please, I ainât done nothing to you. You humiliate me over and over, you make me fuck other men and animals and I donât complain. Donât give me to these men. They will torture and rape me âtil I die!â
You consider your options. $300 will buy you three pretty wives easily, and this oneâs already been used up. You surely canât fuck her again after the goat, plus she tried to talk back to you. Sheâs a disgrace to her culture. On the other hand, can you handle the thought of her fatherâs enemies ruthlessly fucking the life out of this young African whore?
What will you do?

Thank you @therealsaintscully for the tag! I'm soon about to post what might be my very last fic, so it's quite fitting to look back on my journey now.
How many works do you have on ao3?
38 â all Johnlock, except for one GO fic. On New Year's Eve I will post number 39!
Whatâs your total word count?
371,360 (will soon top it off with another 221 words ;))
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
What Friends Do (by FAR), Who I Really Am (personal fave), The General Idea, Coldness/Heat, Tomorrow's Song
Do you respond to comments? Why/why not?
At first I responded to every single one! And I still try to respond to every single person. But now, I sometimes only respond to the last one if it's a reader who's commented on every chapter and I get all the comments at once. I like staying connected to the readers, that's one of the most fun parts about fandom!
What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?
It has to be This Is Your Song. I mean, there's another one within a series that end in an angsty cliffhanger, but MCD surely has to take the prize?
What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?
Oh my, nearly all of them have happy endings â so what would count as happier than happy..? Maybe it's actually the one that isn't posted yet â stay tuned for the resolution of the New Year's Kiss series!
Do you write crossovers?
Nope. I've written a fusion though (Johnlock and Moulin Rouge!).
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Yup. Some people get really angry at John in What Friends Do and they take it out on me. It's interesting because many MANY others adore the story with all their hearts! I even wrote a sequel from John's POV just to try to get people to understand, but the haters didn't understand anyway.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Even though at the beginning I said I'd never, half of my works are now rated E or M. What kind? Um, is "emotional, gay sex" a genre?
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I hope not!
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Many of them, into five different languages! Coolest thing ever.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, I think I'm too pedantic for that. I've loved working with my beta on some poem translations, though, that The Sky is Full of Fiddles is based on.
What's your all-time favourite ship?
38 fics â you all know it's Johnlock, right? There are others that I love, but nothing can ever compare.
What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?
I don't have WIPs! I'm too much of a control freak and perfectionist when it comes to writing â I want to be able to change the beginning when I'm writing the ending. I don't even have unpublished WIPs â I hate the idea of leaving works unfinished. If I was still in those first years of writing frenzy, when I was single and didn't have a child, I'd have expanded on This Time â but as it is, I knew that I wouldn't have the time to do it justice. So I purposely ended on a cliffhanger that would still allow it to stand on its own the way it is.
What are your writing strengths?
Emotions, according to my beta! If you ask me, I'd say describing things â often emotions, I suppose â in new, poetic ways that play on different senses and therefore make them immediate. It's something I love reading myself, anyway, so it's something I've been practicing for... well, decades now. I'd like to think I've gotten at least somewhat good at it.
What are your writing weaknesses?
I'm weirdly bad at coming up with the small details that aren't important, but needed. A recent example is I needed a character to text another with an invented problem to try to get him to come over. It wasn't at all important what the problem was, but it also couldn't be just anything; it had to be in line with his character. I could not for the life of me come up with this problem myself â eventually my husband did it for me. So those kinds of details in my stories are rarely from my own brain!
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
Hmm, well, I've tried not to do that. As a reader I find it annoying to have to look things up, or scroll down to the notes. I have three fics in which characters aren't English; in This Is Your Song I added a couple of "Bonjour"s for flavour, which is about as far as my own French knowledge reaches... In the Fiddles series they're Swedes and speak my mother tongue, but I've written everything in English except for the words that English doesn't have (like for example "polska", a kind of dance), and at the very end, some song lyrics that are then translated into English in the end notes that come immediately after. I did want to add that song for flavour, but I didn't want it to be annoying.
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Johnlock! I started in the aftermath of season 4 back in January 2017 and then couldn't stop.
What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to?
I'm wondering whether I will come back to fic writing at a later point, but for another fandom. I've long wanted to write more for GO, although I already have written one fic. It would probably be a lot of fun to write for OFMD too. Doctor Who maybe? I don't know, it intimidates me to write for a new fandom where I don't yet know the characters as well as I know Sherlock and John.
What's your favourite fic you've written?
This question is too cruel! There are so many of them that I love. Maybe I have to say The Sky is Full of Fiddles, after all â it holds such a special place in my heart for many reasons that go beyond the story itself (although that's true for several fics). Other faves are Your Daughter, The Zebra Sheets and of course Who I Really Am, which I'm liking enough to turn it into a novel I'm now trying to get published. See, I couldn't pick one!!
I'm on Tumblr way too sporadically to have any idea of who's already done this and who hasn't, so I don't dare tag anyone... Feel free to take it and tag me if you feel like it!
#johnlock fics#agirlsname on ao3#today i've also written my last author's notes for my last fic#which makes me feel terribly wistful#i've loved these fic writing years so much!

Can You Feel It? It's Burlesque Part 2
This chapter is a bit shorter than the last, but that is because I've been super busy and I wrote too much for one chapter, so I am giving a shorter chapter now for a longer chapter 3. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy this chapter <3
Ch 1, Ch 2
Also here on Ao3
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eddie made his way up to the door Steve had motioned to and upon entering the back was hit with a wave of perfume and absolute chaos. The back was extremely crowded, dancers were everywhere in all the different mirrors and stations but above all a womanâs voice could be heard.
âLadies! Letâs move it, ladies!â She yelled.
There was a cacophony of replies along the lines of âYes maâamâ and a couple âWhere is my costume!?â but for the most part, the chatter was hard to decipher although, Eddie managed to pick up a bit since his time working in the noisy bar.
âDoes anyone know where Billy is?â someone asks.
Eddie is thoroughly overwhelmed at this moment as he searches for Joyce. He overhears a dancer talking to someone and figures itâs his best bet to find Joyce, follow the dancers.
He hears a dancer complain of losing a contact on the stage and the older woman from earlier speak up.
âOkay, if you fall off the stage remember, leg extended, boobs upâ she chuckles.
The younger woman she was seemingly talking to then chimes in,
âRemember youâre a goddess.â
âThank you, Robinâ the dancer replies with a smile before the older lady repeats the phrase in a mocking tone towards this Robin.
Backstage is chaos, but he loves it. It reminds him of the few times his dad allowed his band to play at the bar and there was a certain anticipation that hung in the air right before performing. He bumps into one of the dancers before she calls out to a man loitering backstage.
âLonnie, the sink upstairs is broken again,â she said.
âIâm not calling a plumber, Barbâ He replies.
He then makes his way over to the elegant older woman and Eddie can slightly make out what they are saying.
âJoyce, have you read this letter from the bank?â He asks.
âLonnie, how many times must I tell you? No business during business hoursâ She huffs, annoyed.
âCome on, Henry Creel is coming to the show tomorrow night, this isnât going away Joyce,â he says.
She rolls her eyes at him and is clearly disinterested in continuing the conversation, but he continues anyway.
âYou wonât talk to me before shows, you wonât talk to me after, itâs like you are avoiding me.â
âWell, I didnât divorce you to spend more time with youâ She jokes.
âI may not be Mr. Joyce anymore but I still own half this place,â he says before walking away in a huff muttering on about how itâs not paying the bills.
Eddie then approaches Robin who is in the midst of fixing up a dancerâs hair and then asks.
âIâm looking for Joyce?â
She nods her head in the direction the older woman, Joyce, went and he wanders over to her.
âHi, are you Joyce?â He asks.
âYes, honey, why are you in my mirror exactly?â She replies kindly.
âOh sorry, Iâm a friend of Steveâs and Iâm looking for a job.â
âWhere have you danced?â
âUmmmâŠ.â
Eddie had for some reason not anticipated this question and was now left floundering.
âAt home? I promise you I can move though.â
She gave him a polite smile in the mirror before speaking.
âGive your name and number to Robin and she can contact you when we have our next auditions.â
âWhen will that be exactly?â he asked.
He never got his answer because Robin approached, and Joyce turned her attention to her.
âWhere is Billy?â
âI donât know, heâs late again,â Robin said
âOh, Iâm never lateâ Eddie interjected hoping it scored him some brownie points
âThatâs great buddy now leave your name and number with your friend Steve downstairs, and we will give you a call, promise,â Robin said with a gentle push towards the stairs
âIâve just never seen anything like it, and I would just love...â Eddie began before bumping into yet another dancer, this time in big sunglasses
âBilly, Robin, and I were just talking, and you know she saidâŠâ Joyce said and then gestured to Robin to finish the thought
âThat it was so sad that Billy couldnât join us for the opening number, and it would be so great if he joined us for the next oneâ
âListen, less flab more ab, my workout took longer than expectedâ Billy replied to the women
âAnd so is finding a new job when I fire your late assâ Joyce joked, but Eddie could tell there was a bit of truth to her statement
Billy then turned and acknowledged Eddie for the first time since they bumped into each other
âHey, bring me a martini extra dry, straight up, three olives,â Billy said with an heir of entitlement
âHe doesnât work here Billyâ another dancer replied while Eddie remained speechless, staring at Billy
âThen he isnât busy,â he said smarmily
Eddie continued staring at Billy for a moment. Billy then seemed to notice and spoke with a cocky grin on his face.
âDidnât your mama every tell you it isnât polite to stareâ
âYouâre just so damn handsomeâ He replied
âScrew your mama, stare awayâ Billy exclaimed with a Cheshire grin
âItâs just no one would ever knowâ Eddie replied
âKnow what!" Billy said angrily.
Eddie took note that Billy seemingly had a short fuse and was easy to rile upâŠperfect.
âThat you are smooth like a Ken doll down there,â Eddie said with a wink before descending the stairs back into the busy club.
-
Once he got back down to the bar, Eddie took inventory of everything happening. He needed a job ASAP and it looked like this place needed a proper waiter. He observed the club for a moment and realized that the waitress who was supposed to be getting drinks to patrons was sitting around chatting with someone at the bar. He watched as a customer waved her over and she blatantly ignored them saying something along the lines of âIn a minuteâ. This just wouldnât do, and a plan began forming in Eddieâs head, if he couldnât tell them why he deserved a job then he would just show them.
He stripped the leather jacket he was wearing draping it over a chair before picking up a tray from the bar and making his rounds from table to table based on who was in need of drinks. Once he was satisfied with gathering orders he returned to Steve at the bar.
âA shot of Patron and the tough looking guy in the hat wants a Cosmoâ he said, Steve looked puzzled but replied
âWhat are you doing?â
âOne night, if Iâm not better than boobs-for-brains over there, you donât have to pay meâ Eddie practically begged he needed this job and he needed it bad.
-
Turns out Eddie had done something right and was told he could return the next night to begin proper work on the condition that he wore the proper club uniform. He had easily agreed as the uniform was all black and even if he hated it he would wear it because a job is a job and he needs it. He had been told to arrive 30 minutes early to his shift to be shown where everything was and get a feel for the place but other than that he was left to his own devices since he had waiting experience under his belt.
Once the club had opened and the seats were filled, Eddie began getting drinks for the tables as they waited for the opening number of the night. Eddie had no idea what to expect but was just as excited to see the performances as the attendees. After a while, the lights dimmed and the opening to Diamonds Are a Girls Best Friend by Marylin Monroe.
A kiss on the hand May be quite continental But diamonds are a girl's best friend
A kiss may be grand But it won't pay the rental On your humble flat Or help you at the automat
Men grow cold As girls grow old And we all lose our charms in the end
But square-cut or pear-shaped These rocks don't lose their shape Diamonds are a girl's best friend
Back at the bar, Joyce and Robin could be found watching Eddie as he worked.
âIsnât that the guy that was backstage yesterday?â Joyce asked
âI think so?â Robin replied
âHey Steve, whatâs he doing here?â Joyce called out to him.
Steveâs face flushed a bit red at this, but he replied nonetheless
âHe really wanted a job and soâŠhe's our new waiterâ
âAnd when did I make you the head of personnel?â Joyce joked with Steve
âHe just picked up a tray and started working,â Steve said with a shrug, face still flushed
âReally?â Robin asked, her eyes bugging slightly out of her head
âWell, his name is Eddieâ Steve replied sheepishly.
âEddieâ Joyce repeated before calling out to the man in question
âHey Eddieâ
Eddie waltzed over to the bar nervous as to what Joyce had to say, would she be super upset? Would she fire him on the spot? He couldnât lose this job, he just got it and based on the look on her face, she meant business. As he got closer, however, her face softened before she spoke
âThe uniform looks nice on you but roll up your sleeves you look too formal. Also, put up your hair you got a cute face so donât hide itâ
Eddie flushed and hoped the lighting would hide his blush. He had been told he was hot before by the men he had hooked up with, but he had never been called cute, especially not by a motherly type; it was nice.
âAlso, donât ever go behind my back againâ Joyce said more stern
âYes maâamâ Eddie replied, and he felt like saluting but figured that it would not bode well.
âAnd donât ever call me maâam againâ Joyce huffed
âYes sir, I mean maâam, I meanâŠJoyceâ Eddie fumbled. Damn, he was doing bad at this.
âGet on the floorâ Joyce joked before patting Eddie along.
-
The performance continued and Marilyn sang:
Tiffany's Cartier Black Starr Frost Gorham Talk to me Harry Winston Tell me all about it
As the lead dancer ripped jewels from the other dancersâ bodies. Eddie watched mesmerized, slowly picking up the steps to the dance and dancing along as he went from table to table getting drink orders. He was pulled away from watching when a manâs voice spoke.
âExcuse me, Dewarâs rocks and a bottle of your best champagne for the tableâŠand oh, will you tell Billy that Iâm hereâ
âAny you areâŠ?â Eddie asked, especially since this man clearly had money and no manner when it came to introducing himself.
âA member since â91, Henry Creel. And you are?â Henry asked
âEddieâ He replied
âEddie" Henry parroted back
-
Meanwhile, as Eddie waited tables, Robin had made her way backstage to make sure the performance was going alright and that she could help with any malfunctions and costume changes to come. As she watched, she was made aware of a presence once he came crashing up to her.
âIâm here,â Billy said
âYouâre late, youâre late for a very important date, Vickie went on for youâ Robin chuckled because of course Billy expected the club to wait on him.
Billy then looked between the beaded curtains at Vickie before he spotted Eddie and turned to Robin.
âWhat is that waiter doing here, I want that bitch out nowâ Billy exclaimed angrily
âWhat did he ever do to you?â She asked
âHe said I have no dickâ he pouted
Robin just laughed before replying
âThat canât be the first time thatâs happenedâ
Billy just gave her an angry look before turning to look up at the lighting guy and saying:
âGet my spotâ
âBilly, what are you doing!â Robin exclaimed, trying to stop Billy but it was too late, he had already stepped out onto the stage and to reel him back in would just disrupt the performance.
-
Eddie watched as the dancer from yesterday, Billy, stepped on the stage and began to fight for the spotlight over the original lead dancer.
There may come a time When a lass needs a lawyer But diamonds are a girl's best friend
There may come a time When a hard-boiled employer Thinks you're awful nice But get that ice or else no dice
Of course, Billy was like this. Eddie had encountered people like this before who needed everything to be about them, and Billy seemed just the type to do that. He pushed and shoved his way in front of the other dancer and the poor girl did her best to adapt to the situation.
-
As the number came to an end Eddie found himself back at the bar watching and imagining himself in the place of the lead dancer.
Diamonds Diamonds I don't mean rhinestones But diamonds are a girl's best Best friend
He would sing and the crowd would go wild, clapping, throwing flowers for him, and overall cheering his name. âEddie! Eddie! Eddie!â
âEddie! Eddie, what do you need?â Steve asked, snapping and pulling Eddie away from the daydream he was having
âDewars rocks and a bottle of Domâ He began
âAnd keep it comingâ Steve finished
âSo, heâs a regularâ Eddie questioned
âHenry Creel, real estate guy. Dating Billy. This week at leastâ Steve answered
Good to know that Steve and seemingly the club were not homophobic because that might have become a problem at some point but Eddie was more focused on how the dancers got to soak in the applause and bask in the moment. He turned to Steve
âI wanna be up there, I wanna do thatâ
âQuestion is, do you have the talent?â he asked
âI doâ Eddie replied
âAre you sure?â Steve asked
âYes!â Eddie replied with a grin
âPositive?â He asked with a smile of his own
âYeah!â Eddie said, grin getting bigger
âGood because youâre onâ Steve replied with a smile before pushing a tray of drinks towards Eddie.
His smile dropped pretty quickly after picking up the tray of drinks and he huffed an annoyed sigh.

Fic authors self rec!
thank you sm for the tags @lavenderhaze, @ecstarry, @velanavis & @static-radio-ao3 saving some of ur fics and sending you guys all my love<3
When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that youâve written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Spread the self-love
1. slow dancing in the dark | jegulus | G | 2.5k
James is gone but thatâs not quite right now, is it? Because to Regulus, James is always only one dance away.
2. light as a feather, soft as a kiss | drarry | G | 1.7k
Light as a feather his touch lingers, as the need to prolong this privilege transfers from his thumb to his index finger and, in an uncharacteristically display of boldness, Dracoâs fingers move to the rest of Harryâs face, mapping his features with reverence. First the curve of his eyebrows, the end of his nose, the high point of his cheeks, even the tip of his ears. He traces every dip and curve, counts every freckle, touches every scar, even hisâ even the scar. Draco traces the rough edges of the lightning bolt as soft as he can, wishing he could take away all the pain it had brought Harry over the years.
3. As warm as the Calabrian sun | jegulus | G | 8.4k
This fic features a sick James, a cheeky little Harry, an orange cat named mandarina and an unexpected âbut not unrequitedâ feverish confession under the stars. And love, so much love wrapped between white linen sheets and soft summer breeze.
4. Some sunny day | jegulus/wolfstar/pandalily | G | 3.7k
A day at the beach with an insane amount of seawater, sand castles, threesome jokes, number two's, and grandparents being absolutely besotted with their grandkids.
5. When it rains | jegulus/wolfstar/pandalily | T | 17.1k
On the last weekend of November, a storm took place. Certainly, three days of intense rain would make everyone stay at home but it seems that six people don't get the memo, instead, they decide to take shelter at a random bus stop. Not at the same time and not the same pair each time, though. What are the odds that this particular group of people know each other? And in what way are they all connected?

I assumed it was the tow! turned out it was not. but he helped me put on the spare and then was lik#âfollow me to my shop I can do the tires for youâ and I was like okay! đ but then the ACTUAL tow called me and I realized this was#just a random guy (very nice up to that point but then I got scared about following him to a secondary location?) and so I didn't lmao#I just kept driving and didn't follow him but the guy on the phone was then mad at me because I wasn't where I said I would be because#AGAIN â I thought the original guy WAS the tow company that I called? but anyway guy 2 on the phone was like âYOU OWE ME $200!!!!â#and I said for what? also how would I pay you? and he tried to get me to cash app him lmao?? I didn't. I hung up on him#he called me like 6 more times yelling at me until I finally just blocked his number đ#however NOW at this point I'm driving on one spare tire and one rapidly-flattening second tire and I still have 3 hours left to get where#I was going for the night and to top it all off I'm in the middle of a city I've only been to one time before? so I manage to get to a hote#like a nice-ish one where I'm like âokay if I get stuck here this won't be the end of the worldâ#because keep in mind today is a national holiday so basically everything is closed!!!! btw!!!!!#but eventually I'm sitting there and it's literally 100F outside and I remember oh right lol I have car insurance which pays for a tow#(a normal one; not a random one I panic-found on google who calls me screaming at me to cash app him $200)#so anyway I call my insurance and the guy on the phone is very nice and is like âit's okay; we'll have someone to you in 45 minâ#and I'm like okay. OKAY. đđȘ I am a strong independent woman who is figuring this out and no longer on the side of the highway#but instead in a nice calm neighborhood and all I have to do is wait 45 min and everything will be okay#one hour goes by. I call back. get redirected to the tow company that was dispatched. guy says oh! is my guy not there yet?#I say no. he says okay â I'll have him call you. hangs up.#okay. 20 more min go by. guy finally calls me. says âI'm 20-25 min awayâ at this point I've been waiting about an hour and a half#I say. okay? okay. 30 more minutes go by. I try to call the guy back. straight to voicemail. three more calls. three more no answers.#I call my insurance back. sit on hold for 15 min. eventually get put through to a different person who's like âokay let me check on himâ#get put on hold. eventually she comes back and says âokay he says 15 minutesâ I've been waiting over 2 hours at this point. I have to PEE#I just... burst into tears. on the phone with this poor random woman from Geico Insurance. I'm bawling my eyes out.#she was trying to get claim info from me but I'm crying so hard she's like âoh baby no. okay. okay. we can get that from you tomorrow.â#when you cry so hard that even the insurance company is like âyou know what we're just going to let this one slideâ#anyway guy eventually shows up. he's very nice even though I hate him a little for being so late. he drives me to an OPEN TIRE SHOP

bonus thing i cherish in this shot is that it's the one time it's immediately noticeable that her hair length is uneven....let's go Cutting One's Own Hair (With Or Without A Mirror) look havers irl (b/c of cutting one's own hair with or without a mirror, maybe) & even when it's recreated on purpose like so
#haven't yet rewatched fury road as i've been anticipating doing for weeks now. we're on the verge of it though i can sense it#thank god ms charlize (juking diacritics) decided on Furiosa Will Have Short Hair#the No Diegetic Makeup. the constant (smudged with dirt or grease or blood perhaps) looks#only additional thing that we're demanding from anything. armpit hair please. for furiosa at least#meanwhile siiigh i guess like three days (? i will go through the number of Nights in my head. one. two.) closer to two days#isn't long enough to grow that much leg hair siiigh fine. more difficult to match up leg hair shots chronology too but if only....#reminds me how a while ago i was like half watching smthing & after a fair number of scenes was like oh hang on that's charlize furiosa....#b/c i basically know her From This. i'd seen smthing else she was in years before w/o remembering much details of Anything#(also had technically seen tom hardy in smthing more recently at the time Also w/o recognizing as much. also thanks at least in part to#not especially enjoying the movie) & i'm not great with faces; that most roles are gonna have Longer Hair / Makeup happening#and a lack of constant dirt grease blood etc even like okay this would be quite difficult#so i Didn't recognize the actor for a hot minute until the reason i Did was just this instance of [subtle quiet shift Acting Moment]#where she got this particular Silent Restrained Intensity going and i was like oh hang on. Could Be Her lmao. it was#anyways even capturing this screencap it was like Aughhh that she Walks. Stops. Walks. the Soundtrack doing what it's doing here....#and if there's Anything in this film to illustrate [max: main character] [furiosa: protagonist] boy is it this scene. wah#the end of this shot as capable like starts looking away like ah yeah emotion moment. well i'll give you this privacy#just like the fast & furious crossroads chat about cam fr lol like i'll respectfully turn so i'm not looking right at you for this Real Shi#responding to your reeling deepest devastation by moving forward still as far as you can? a quarter mile at a time of you#fury road

Narrator: âAnd then he was not.â
#izombie#fandom#I actually checked and yeah he stayed about a week longer than he said he would#the episode ends with Saturday morning and Blaine 'not having his memory back' (clown face emoji)#and then Peyton and him are completely absent from the following episode#now it's not entirely clear what day it is at the beginning of Spank A Zombie/how much time has passed since the ending of the last one#but Ravi does point out that they couldn't yet inform Major that the memory system didn't work on Blaine because he's abroad#but it's very likely NOT Saturday because we got another section at the end of 3.3 of Clive and Liv investigating the gun range.#in 3.5 it's evening at the 14 minute mark. then daylight again in the next scene. night again at the 19 minute mark.#Then it's day again and the episode ends with the next evening with Major in bed.#next episode starts with Liv going home from Ravi's and Major's place and Blaine is STILL there and having breakfast with Peyton.#Liv goes off the solve the case during the day. It's night again at the 8 minute mark.#Liv goes off the solve the case during the day. It's night again at the 8 minute mark. Then Clive and Liv go to investigate an (empty) club#and when she returns to check on Major it's dark outside AGAIN.#then next morning Liv is back home and Blaine and Peyton having breakfast together AGAIN#so not accounting for the unclear number of days that passed been 3.4 and 3.5 that's at least 6 days he overstayed his welcome#and he only leaves because Peyton breaks up with him#I am a proud doer of the maths

a weird little thing abt me is i will definitely mock shitty ai art but it never feels right doing it about the hands simply by virtue of the fact that a lot of them look indistinguishable from the hands i was doing years ago when i first got a drawing tablet
#like id have the right number of fingers obv but like. putting the thumb on the wrong side#fingers bending weird directions or connecting in weird places#weird anatomy at jointsâ freaky nailsâ bad proportionsâ bad perspectiveâ etc etc etc#people say 'this isnt ai like in sci-fi its just machine learning' but to me its a lot more interesting to look at it as#'this isnt ai like in scifi /yet/'#like yeah the stuff ai does in fiction isnt possible at this point but like. i find it difficult not to wonder if this#is the ai version of infancy stages yknow? like.#ppl go 'its cant write its own stuff its just recycling stuff its been fed' as if thats not kinda how people . learn to talk?#idk i just find it hard to agree with arguments that act like where we currently are at is the furthest these technologies could possibly#evolve in our lifetimes#'it just makes things up' you mean like toddlers going on long winding rambles about unicorns and monsters or w/e#'it cant do art good' you mean like a child? or even just literally Anyone who doesnt know how to draw yet?#like. idk. i feel like people are trying very very hard to insist the ai of today is still the same as it was in the clevverbot days#and that its impossible to evolve any further#people want to cling to the old days when ai stuff didnt pass the turing test by a much wider marging than it tends to now#dont want to admit that it does indeed sometimes surpass the turing test and likely would be able to even moreso were it#not for restraints#(see: that one stock trading ai that did insider trading vs various chatbots not bring allowed to write disparaging things#about copyrighted people or w/e)#if ai stuff was still truly indistinguishable from human works then we wouldnt need to spend so much time#hashtag exposing things as being ai generated#and i just think its bad toâ in pursuit of thatâ mock things that are like. just stuff all beginner artists struggle with#i guarantee you there is not a single artist out there who hasnt drawn a hand that made them want to curl up and die at least once.#i got very off-topic there but swung it back around at the end there so. hashtag win#origibberish

I would like to commend Rhonda for joining Mr. Benedict in the first place. Now, this is not to judge any of the characters, but, imagine, that you are a young orphan who has just been through several levels of an extremely weird test, only to find out they were designed by Some Guy and his adopted daughter who is a bit older than you but extremely blunt and intense (And possibly a random guy who looks like he could maybe be trustworthy or maybe mug you in a dark alley but overwhelmingly looks incredibly sad that is just s t a n d i n g t h e r e, depending on the time frame), and then all the "adults" in this situation (Or, at least, older and hopefully more knowledgable than you) tell you that the world is going to be taken over by some ambiguous entity who is using the radio to brainwash people.
Think about this.
I know that the kids had to do it, too, but when Rhonda joined, the Benedicts weren't an actual team yet. They were still in the beginning stages, with less experience and less information than by the time Reynie and the others show up. Can you imagine if they had Number Two run the cheating trick during the first tests? And if this was before Milligan arrived, then either she or Mr. Benedict would be running everything on their own, so, a lot less smoothly, and I bet less of the children respected her when she was closer to their ages. Mr. Benedict likely wouldn't have been able to kick all the kids out of the test, once they started crying and things. Why do you think it was Number Two and Milligan's job?
Like, the Mr. Benedict and co. that Rhonda had to make the decision to trust were a lot less trustworthy-seeming than the one we meet. So, good job to her for seeing them for who they were, instead of being freaked out by their strangeness.
#that or she was an incredibly weird child who just grew out of it a bit by the time she met the kids#and mr. benedict took one look at her rocking back and forth on her heels while waiting in line and speaking bembi or french#or whatever to herself and reciting types of stitches#or maybe calming a younger child who was nervous about the test#and he was like ânumber two i want that one. she needs to be part of our teamâ#and number two's like âshe hasn't even taken the tests yet. you literally took one look at her and called adoption. you can't do thisâ#and he's like âoh yes i can i did with you and i'll do it againâ#anyways i just think rhonda is super neat#and it would be fun to hear more about what she was like when she was younger#because it's said that she's only like twenty or so at most#or at least that she is only *just* an adult so she can still pass for a child#so she must have had an interesting time growing up with mr. benedict and everyone#i would enjoy reading about those years of her life#either way!#rhonda is a lovely character!!#mbs#the mysterious benedict society#rhonda kazembe#number two#mr. benedict#nicholas benedict#milligan#milligan wetherall
