#Idle Gossip

An Introduction.

(Of sorts.)

Ah yes. The dreaded winter season is upon us. No more holidays or merriment. All that remains are dozens of layers one must put up with to avoid certain death and the dreaded idleness.

It is in this time of idleness that I have found myself in the most horrible of predicaments. Despite being a lady of overflowing character, I have found there are very few with which to share tea or sorrows. The truly confounding of the two being tea. And of course the information that tends to flow along with it. How is one meant to amuse oneself when there is no one around of which to be amused?

I pondered this for a while, forlornly of course, and decided after many cups of tea and much sighing that I would write letters to myself. After all, there is no other lady with whom I would find myself on quite as equal footing with regards to gossip such as I.

Oh my- did I say gossip? How terribly uncouth.

This is merely the sharing of information- that which has not yet been entirely confirmed but is otherwise entirely interesting.

Now I know what I'm thinking.

"But Agatha dear! Whatever would we do should anyone encounter our letters strewn about the room or stuffed hastily beneath the third floorboard beneath the armoire?"

I would in that moment advise myself not to worry of course. It is of no consequence. They'd think me mad and toss them no doubt. Such as someone might throw out a broken fan or a hideous but well meant drawing by their younger sibling.

However, should these letters somehow fall into the hands of anyone apart from myself who shares in my love for said unconfirmed information, to you I say with much good nature:

62. How would outside characters describe their relationship?

Intense? I think people often don't get their relationship (but then, people often have that reaction to Wen in general). To the outside observer, I think they read as an "opposites attract" sort of thing--Zevran is smooth and charming, while Arianwen is curt and intentionally abrasive.

The Wardens and those who know the two of them know better. Wen and Zevran move like people who've fought together for years, and their weaknesses are well balanced by the others' strengths. To the ones who know them, they'd be described as a well-practiced team.

84. Have they ever almost lost one another? How does it effect their relationship?

Oh, several times! Wen almost dies in the Deep Roads from an infected wound (taken from the Broodmother) and Zev almost dies fighting Taliesen in Denerim. Almost losing Arianwen forces Zevran to realize the depth of his feelings for her (he'd been working hard to convince himself it was a passing attraction up to that point).

For Wen--I think realizing how much she's come to accept him as a part of her life forces her to admit that she wants to have a life. It's a frightening realization, but it also gives her a reason to fight beyond sheer necessity. It's also the dividing line between her trying to convince herself she'd be fine without him and her accepting that she trusts him and wants him to stay in her life.
