basically the right arm is markings that appeared the first time he used his magic, showing the corruption of his soul and body due to the demonic source of his magic and power. the left arm is basically permanent proof of the contract he made with the demon for his magic and he has tried to remove it in the past but nothing worked. if asked about his tattoos he will definitely lie about their origins, and the source of his powers, so that he can masquerade as a "genuine" common witch rather than admitting the truth.

Holby ED Pokemon assignments

because i've been super in a casualty mood recently so here are my hcs for which pokemon each of the characters would have, I’m just having fun please feel free to disagree with me

Dylan - Stoutland

this is so obvious to me it's like a small Dervla. Small, a little grumpy but good at rescuing people and extremely trustworthy

Jodie - Buneary

I feel like it kind of looks like her a tiny bit? Small and cute but still tough and energetic, maybe to help her with comforting patients too?

Rash - Torchic

Being real, Delphox was my initial choice for Rash. I'm still considering it, especially as such a smart pokemon. But then I really kept thinking about it and settled on Torchic, which always seems like a p perfect companion for any doctor especially because they're warm when you hold them. I think they'd be good for comforting during anxiety attacks as well

Faith - Altaria and Kadabra

This one has Faith vibes, it's got that blue-theme I associate her with and I feel like Faith would really benefit from having a pokemon that could chat with her. I also think she'd have a Kadabra to help her with various bits of her work.

Iain - Luxray

I read a post once about how good a Luxray would be for someone with PTSD because they're good at spotting danger for you. I feel like Luxray is the right mixture of calming and reassuring for Iain, and he'd feel safe with it

Cam - Ralts

Like with Jodie I just feel like it kind of has his vibe/hair, yknow? I could see him carrying Ralts around and having it help with patients

Jacob - Dedenne

This fits the big tough guy with tiny cute animal vibes, but I feel like Jacob would really thrive with a pokemon that's a little bit playful and cheeky and could hide in his coat

Jan - Deino

Again, it just has Jan VIBES. Small but tough and feisty. I feel like Jan has the patience to work with a tiny bitey dinosaur that keeps trying to gnaw on her until it warms up to her.

Ngozi - Sylveon

Ngozi is always absolutely fantastic at calming patients down, I love her a lot and I feel like she's both the perfect person to have evolved a Sylveon in the first place, and the perfect person to have a pokemon who could assist her. It's also super elegant and Ngozi is so graceful too.

Nicole - Cubchoo

I wish I had an explanation for this one, it just gives off Nicole vibes for me. I feel like she found a Cubchoo on the side of the road one day and immediately decided that it had to come home with her because it's so cute

Rida - Oshawott and Eevee

I feel like Oshawott is her main pokemon because they're inquisitive, innovative and friendly. Rida feels very water themed to me, and I feel like Oshawott would be the perfect companion for her both on the wards and at home.

I also see her having an Eevee because she's had to constantly adapt to new things/new roles to play in the ED. She'd defo carry her Eevee around with her (it'd be more friendly than her Oshawott I feel - her friends can play with Eevee easier)

Siobhan - Drampa (and probably Charizard)

I went back and forth between Drampa and Charizard for ages but ultimately I feel like Sionhan has a no-nonsense pokemon that's still incredibly compassionate and kind. Drampa is incredibly compassionate and kind with people and defensive of people who need it

Stevie - Absol and Mawile

Absol is a pokemon that shows up to warn people of disaster, but people used to think that they caused the disaster. I like that, and I feel like it's a neat twist that fits Stevie and the fact she so often ends up at the scene of disaster (like with Ethan getting attacked) but genuinely being good.

Mawile is my second chance for her because, like, look at it. That's a Stevie pokemon.

Tariq - Leafeon

This one is just vibes, I feel like it suits him so much. I couldn't tell you why. Maybe it's the energy levels matching his?

Teddy - Teddiursa with a bonus Audino!

I mean. It's called Teddi of course Teddy would have to have one. I can totally see it wandering around the ambulance between patients and hopping up onto people.

Bonus of an Audinio for Teddy because I feel like it'd be a great disability support Pokemon for Teddy. They have really good hearing so they'd be able to hear if his heartrate needed attention, and they're a medical pokemon so they're perfect for the job.

scooby doo and the witches ghost (1999): one of the movies i had on vhs as a kid. the first appearance of the hex girls? of course it changed the trajectory of my life. every single day i think about how cute it was that luna's dad ( a dentist) made fang implants for the hex girls to wear.

natural born killers (1994): i was an edgy teenager. i love the cinematography and the editing and how meta it is and the fucked up romance. and it was one of the films that made me want to study film, so i guess i should send my university bill to oliver stone?

halloween ends (2022): is anyone surprised? anyone at all? i've had other films i've loved in adulthood (looking at you, house of wax), but i've never become to instantly obsessed as i did with ends. i've never developed so many hcs and aus and possibilities for one thing. do i really have to defend this one? just look at my blog lol.

books

withering tights (the misadventures of tallulah casey) by louise rennison: there were so many books i loved as a kid, but this is one i come back to even now. it's about friendship, finding your passions, having a silly teenage romance. i'm glad my tweenie self read this book.

the secret history by donna tartt: another teenage cliché. i was actually recommended this book by my own classics teacher in college. i've re-read this book at least 5 times i think? i love it, it's passionate and dark and funny. you fall exactly into the trap that richard does in romanticising these dysfunctional people. no one can change my mind.

the wasp factory by iain banks: do you wanna read something fucked up? then read the wasp factory. i think about this book a lot, just because some of the images were just so weird and disturbing and visceral. it's blunt and brash and has no frills at all. it'll make you feel weird and i heavily advise reading some content warnings beforehand, but it is an experience.

songs:

the tide is high by blondie: the first song i ever remember liking. when i was a kid my dad would drive me to school and ask what i wanted to listen to on the radio and i would ask for this song (and surprisingly it actually was on the radio a lot in the early 00s?).

maya the psychic by gerard way: this song reminds me of a bright grey day in march with a cold breeze and a new found will to live.

respite on the spitalfields by ghost: my favourite song from the first ghost album i ever listen to (recommended by a friend). respite (the final track) literally makes me feel like my heart is going to explode, and the way the last riff merges back into imperium (the first track)? obsessed. i fell asleep to this album so many times at university, so respite was really the soundtrack to my slumber.

Oh, absolutely they do! Matthew is Maitiú or Mata depending on if we're talking about Irish or Scottish Gaelic. Jack would be Seán or Iain (that's assuming that Jack is in fact a nickname for John). New Zealand has a less agreed upon name in fanon, but if we go with your hc, Liam is already just a shortening of the Irish name Uilliam (William) so arguably he doesn't even really have an English name, to begin with.

Happy Father’s Day!!!

- Thomas would text Zeke, Clopin and Kuzco, wishing them a happy fathers day because they were all badass dads, fuck yes. He’d send out a little prayer-sort of thing to Jetsam, wishing him one too.

- He’d even get a text from Maddy, which was kinda cool.

- Figaro went all out for their Papa G. Breakfast in bed, pajama day, giving him a plushie of her own creation (that was sewn from all sorts of different ones bought from a thriftstore to make a Frankenplush), and watching whatever he wanted on the television, even if it was Poirot or Spongebob, his current two favorites.

- Figaro would also make a visit to Cap’n Hook cause he was a dad in Funkytown too, bringing him a pirate themed food tray. They weren’t scared of No Hook. They’d call him Dad for funzies.

- Triton would get 0 from Frank of course. That wasn’t his dad. That was never going to be his dad. He was eternally fatherless. Immaculate conception, bitch.

- Iain was obviously gonna spend the whole day with his little Pete. They’d have a picnic brunch on the Ranch, they’d fly some kites, he’d take her on a bike ride through the city where she’d be sitting on a seat attached to his bike through the town to go and get some ice cream, just really soaking up the day.

- Maddy would obviously have a few things in store for Bastien, even if the baby wasn’t here yet. She’d plan a day on their private beach if he felt up to it while the sun was up, wearing a bikini to show off that bump, lots of smooches and just being grateful for the father of her child.

- Clopin would surprise his husband, the Little Llama, with a nice knife, his name etched in it, that he made, just like the weapons he’d make for Chip and Piper over time. He’d then use this very knife to cut up chocolate covered strawberries and feed them into his lover’s mouth. He didn’t need a reason to celebrate Kuzco but it felt pretty fun having one.

- Ellie would be spending the day with her dad too, watching over their favorite WWE fights and throwing popcorn at the television screen even though they knew what the outcomes were going to be. She’d feel like a little kid again and it was really fun.

Examine: The three parts of Impact Man

The three little robots that make up Impact Man, Kui-Ichiro, Kui-Jiro and Kui-Saburo! They three brothers form to make Impact Man but they don’t directly share memories with them. To them, the Impact brothers and Impact Man are separate robots that share memories and bits of the brothers’ personalities. The brothers are manufactured at Nakaume Heavy Machinery and built for multiple and smaller piling.

Kui-ichiro is the eldest of the brothers and is the most mature out of the brothers. He’s a great motivator and willing to do his job to the end, usually the one to take control when the brothers combine to form Impact Man. This gives the base personality for Impact Man.

Kui-jiro is the middle child of the brothers and is very unreliable and not usually the one to take control. He’s a bit immature and lacks decisiveness so he tends to look at Kui-ichiro for instructions, which are just to ‘hit things’. However he’s getting better at making decisions, but he’s still too unreliable to take control. He’s really not afraid to admit that he’s unreliable but he always want to drink but his brothers won’t let him for understandable reasons. This gives Impact Man the awkward and excited side of him.

Kui-saburo is the youngest out of brothers and the most responsible after Kui-jiro. He’s the well-prepared and clean type of brother, always making time for proper maintenance, so his spike is constantly spotless, shiny, and sharp. He would take control of the brothers should Kui-jiro be too tired to continue. He gives the reassuring and keeping-in-check personality to Impact Man.

The Impact brothers were actually supposed to be based off their creator, Elias Valerio’s grandchildren: Iain, Jace and Susie Kether. The three are siblings whose personalities relate to the Impact brothers.

hates silence, has to be listening to music or in a conversation with someone at all times. he often ends up getting on the bad side of more introverted people.

without thinking, he always ends up being blunt and pushy. he didn’t grow up with many friends (or any at all) so he has trouble picking up on social cues.

he shows love and affection through extremely specific compliments and small gifts. and by small gifts, i mean feathers and pretty glass bottles he finds on walks.

usually serves as a medic, but is sent out on field missions as crowd control in closed environments. used to be sent on supply runs often, but had been decided as ‘not stealth enough’ by the other proxies.

easily obsessive over people. he comes off as ‘too much’ way to often, so he becomes clingy and possessive when someone responds positively to his hyperactivity.

idolizes eyeless jack, wanting to become as calm and skilled as him. cody envies his ability to seemingly not give a shit about what people think about him, but still staying mostly liked by others. jack, on the other hand, is off put by his mad scientist demeanor.

he thinks aloud often. he has trouble keeping his thoughts straight and finds whispering his plans to himself keeps him on track way better.

he has worn braces since he was 16 and has no idea when to take it off. since he obviously can’t go to an orthodontist, he has debated heavily to yank them off with pliers.

very sporadic when it comes to killing. he doesn’t do it for fun, but rather based on his emotions. he could kill one person in one month and ten in the next week. i’d assume he has a pretty average body count when it comes to the rest of them.

extremely inexperienced with romance. he once tried to watch a romance, drama show on netflix, but got too embarrassed when they started flirting he had to turn it off.

hello! you mentioned before how Maereth is a descendant of one of Feanor's sons but you haven't revealed it yet and no one has guessed it yet either

in a spur of the moment (and adrenaline from lack of sleep and too much work) 🤣 i would like to take a guess... is it Maglor? I did some searching and it seems he is the only one among the sons to have been married and live long enough for Maereth be born around 553 years of the sun (based on the end notes of last chapter, greenleaf's day out)

I know this reply is a bit late, my Anon friend, but you have to believe me that I was MASSIVELY EXCITED so receive your message! I haven't been in a huge rush to make a big reveal about Elvenqueen Maereth, though a couple of other friends have shown interest in her "hidden identity". But it's been a year since I first started writing about her, and you are the first one to come forward with a guess about her lineage.

YOU ARE CORRECT! Mostly. Queen Maereth, beloved wife of Elvenking Thranduil, comes from the line of Fëanor through his second son, Maglor. But Maglor is not Maereth's father, but rather her maternal grandfather.

From her father's side, Maereth is actually half-Teleri, and is the granddaughter of another renowned elf-lord, Círdan! (In the SotWK AU, Círdan wed one of the granddaughters of Olwë, a Falmari who had done the unthinkable and crossed the Helcaraxë, following her cousin Galadriel.)

Ever wonder how Legolas (seemingly randomly) turned out to be a shipwright in the Fourth Age? There is your headcanon explanation. It's in his blood!

This also means the last ruler of Eryn Lasgalen, Thranduil's grandson and heir, Aranion, son of Mirion, carries the blood of all three groups of Calaquendi. (He has Vanyar blood from his mother, Itarildë.) Just one of my favorite bits of SotWK HC lore.

General Summer Time HC

Shit that’s been happening over the summer cast wide: 

Taryn would get her extra cash from Willem after Declan gave her the idea. She didn’t stop with that one time though. She’s got him paying her Ratcliffe’s money to keep her mouth shut to Hook about the flying. 

She’s still trying to work as much as she can at Woody’s Round Up, all the hours they’ll give her before school starts again because she knows she’ll have to cut back for classes. 

She would continue her on going drinks for Declan whether he takes them or not. It’s just become her thing now. 

Taryn would have eventually touched Iain during an Uber ride trying to do his offer to her trailer by herself, but would find out his powers aren’t so easy to control, and would end up having to patch a hole in the wall by hand and gave up deciding his powers were too complicated to use on her own. She realizes now if she does really want it she’d have to ask him personally. 

Paris: Kuzco is going to insist Clopin be the tour guide of childhood. Places that have to be visited, the place of their big kiss, the confessional, the hospital where they snuck through with Piper when Notre Dame was burning. The bed b breakfast they stayed at the first time.

Piper: is going to insist on the retelling of all the old tales she’d heard so Agnes and Pierre can hear them too. The stories of her papas and how she came to be and all the stories in between. 

Bastien: Is going to be especially attentive to everything Clopin talks about. The streets, all of it shall hit a special bone in him. He’s going to be a little edgy for the lack of being able to bring weed on a commercial flight. 

Dale: I feel like he would have made Clopin a few legs by now. Each with special requests Clopin has made. The more add ons the heavier it gets though, so something tells me the least complicated ones are most comfy. But, he’ll always be working on how to make them lighter with bells and whistles attached for each of motion. Arthur will be a part of this too. So, Dale is getting plenty of practice and critique in problem solving for this challenge. 

Delta & Frank: I feel like they’ll start going to see their parents more. Make it an every other Sunday thing, so Sally has something to look forward to. 

Cruella is going to come ask for her car. Might want to play that out for shits and giggles. 

Need to do Delta’s appointment with Chernabog because frankly I’m not sure how that one’s playing out. But, I do want to say she and Frank have been back and forth to the fae realm now using the tree in her old bedroom and have gotten that realm on her side by summer’s end, gaining back up, including a couple random Christmas elves, but Frank was right, the most of them just don’t have the stuff for it. 

Laveau cookouts. Usually family meals are family meals. Zeke/Brig/Elsa/Angela always invited. But, they all do have friends and sometimes that happens too. I can see Flo skipping inviting Elsa to the bigger ones knowing she really doesn’t like crowds like that. So, I can see a couple cookouts. The friend line up is usually for Flo: Chess, Koda, Robin Hood/Marian, Scout: Dedra, Chip: the Rayas, Dale: Jori. River: Arthur/Darrius/Wulf. There would even be one where Flotsam asked his old buddy Madame Medusa over who would check out what they’ve done with her old place.

Then there’s the Belle place get togethers and sometimes they invite a few extras they like but wouldn’t really want all gathered on Laveau property. Eeyore is given permission to bring Piglet to those. Other merry men might show up with Wulf and Robin. All of Seven’s mothers, all three Fates would show up to these. So, Thomas would get to meet the three one eyed ladies.

So, hmmm, Fitzsimmons at Hogwarts headcanons, let me see.

Well, first of all, I think that they're both Ravenclaws, with very little question about that? Fitz could maybe be a Gryffindor, maybe, but ultimately I'd say they're both classic Ravenclaw. They'd also both be those Hermione-esque students who are naturally brilliant at magic, and get all the spells right through a combination of homework (high five, Jemma 🤣) and talent.

I also think that Jemma would be made a prefect pretty much as soon as she was old enough - because, come on, she's literally perfect for it. Responsible but still compassionate, and more than smart enough to keep up with her school duties despite having other responsibilities - yup. Fits the bill perfectly!

Fitz, I think, would be more of a wild card prefect-wise, because he's a little shyer and less natural with people, and also if we have Daisy in the story, he's bound to get into some kind of shenanigans with her 🤣😝

Thirdly, and I don't know how relevant this is at all, lol, I'm literally just spamming you with my Hogwarts-y thoughts and ideas here - but I've always thought that, in pretty much any Hogwarts AU, Coulson would make the most PERFECT Dumbledore, and May the best McGonagall. I mean, just. 😍😍😍😍😍

Ohhh, my gosh, and the last thing I LOVE to headcanon is that Fitzsimmons is That Couple who the entire school ships, and wants to get together - best friends, or maybe enemies (! 👀), but either way very much into each other, and very much mutually oblivious about it.

Hmmmhhhmm, that's all I can think of at 8am this morning, and without a cup of tea, no less 🤣😱🤦‍♀️ But if you'd like any more hcs about this, ask again anytime and I'd love to share them! We still have a few days left 😍😍🤣 And, you know, in general - I'd love to talk to you a bit more once this is all over.

Before I go, though, you asked me for some Fitzsimmons songs - and I'll let you in on a secret here, I absolutely can't listen to anything while trying to write, because my musical brain gets distracted with the harmonies and analysis of the song, or... I just start singing along, lmaoo. Case in point: no writing gets done.

So while I don't have a convenient writing playlist to pick from, after having a bit of a think, I've managed to pull together a list of songs that give me the best FS feels. 🥰

You Were Never Gone from Teen Wolf - this song is, and probably always will be, my number one Fitzsimmons song. Even if the lyrics weren't positively perfectly suited to them (which they are) I also saw an AMAZING Fitzsimmons edit on it once, and that now lives rent-free in my head, along with the stirring and fantastic song itself.

Perfect by Ed Sheeran - this song is probably the most romantic love song I've ever heard, and nothing short of perfect (😝) for any OTP.

Birds by Imagine Dragons - getting angstier here, but this song captures the pain of everything Fitz and Jemma have gone through exquisitely well, and how they still keep hoping they'll find each other again.

Work Song by Hozier - c'mon, you can't have a halfway decent playlist without a Hozier song on it, and this one, especially the part where he sings about how no grave can hold him back from his love, just seems very Fitzsimmons to me.

Please Don't Say You Love Me by Gabrielle Aplin - this is one of those songs that make me think of a very specific time period in FS's history; namely, in season 2, when Fitz had confessed his feelings to Jemma, but she isn't sure how she feels yet, and just doesn't want things to change. Also, Iain de Caestecker is in the music video, and, come on, you don't get much better for FS feels than that! 😝😍

No Light, No Light by Florence + the Machine - another time-specific one, and another SUPER angsty one. To me, there's no song that captures post-Framework Fitzsimmons better, especially the part where she sings about no light in his bright blue eyes. 💔

The Scientist by Coldplay - the last one on my list, and maaaaybe a bit of an obvious choice, lmao, but still one that I think fits them regardless. It's full of heartbreak ("no-one ever said it would be this hard") and also the haunting, sincere wish to "Oh, take me back to the start // I was just guessing at numbers and figures // Pulling the puzzles apart // Questions of science, science and progress // Do not speak as loud as my heart." And I'm just like... damn. Everything about it - lyrics, title, tune - just SCREAMS Fitzsimmons, and I love it.

Notes from the Deluxe Elf Interview, pt 6 (HBMP podcast)

I like to process important stuff more thoroughly to help me retain it, so I take notes when I listen to shows and podcasts and stuff. And the best episode of Hot Brown Morning Potion Podcast just came out–the Deluxe Elf Interview with Devon Giehl and Iain Hendry–so you know I was all over that. This is just my personal notes, nothing super detailed or organized, and not delved into yet at all.

If I have a direct quote, it’s in double quotes. Sometimes my notes are paraphrasing or getting only most of the words, and sometimes it’s just me rambling, but if I “quote” something, it’s a proper direct quote that I went back and listened to. Also, sometimes I noted who was talking, just because I loved how they played off each other and offered different perspectives. I is for Iain and D is for Devon.

Devon and Iain don’t read TDP fanfic for legal reasons, but they love it in general and encourage it, and they do see TDP fanart. The one where Runaan yeeted Rayla into the water was probably canon.

Rayla’s dad is the ultimate bro. Supportive of people’s dreams. He’s the friendly one, friendlier than most elves. Her mom is quiet, planner, calculating. She’s the brains, he’s the impulsive side.  Rayla is like her mom when collected, like her dad when she’s being impulsive.

Devon likes mean elves, aggressive elves, lofty img of themselves. Sunfires. They look down at others for not having their shit together like they do. Skywings are more fun to hang out with. Birb elves.

There is not a Star Touch elf society. Not numerous enough.

Sunfires have a single authority. Heavily militaristic. Xadia looks to the Sunfires as protectors and a guiding light but they’re also violent and arrogant. The enforcers in Xadia. Can be overbearing. They need to chill.

Tidebound elves have very different cultures depending on where they live. They could communicate across the water as long as it connects.

Callum doesn’t know what Earthblood elves sound like so he was guessing with that accent.

Money: Runaan was being a jerk more than he was commenting on money not being a Xadian thing. Sunfires do what’s expected of them to serve for Sunfire glory. Moonshadows trade more like barter? More freely trade in the villages. Skywings are so far apart they might use some kinds of tokens. Or shiny treasures they find, like actual magpies. Callum as prince wouldn’t understand money anymore than Rayla but he’d be more of a planner and budgeter than she is.

Iain said “horn cuffs” imma die I made that term up ages ago and he said it in the podcast *dies*

“Horndornments”, for Sunfire horn decorations, lol. Iain sees horn jewelry like rings. Horn cuffs can be extremely meaningful relationship-status gifts between couples but they don’t always mean marriage

One of the two Sunfires who gets yeeted into the lava has nothing on his horns but he was supposed to so they hc that he’s a derpy fresh recruit.

Beauty standards for horns? Star touch elf horns are the most incredible and beautiful that anyone’s ever seen. Some elves prefer certain kinds of horns.

Hanna put the jewel on Ethari’s horn cuff to represent Runaan in some way. For hiis eye color.
