Ive been talking about a "secret" project I've been teasing a while now,so it's finally here !

I wish to draw as many as possible people's versions of Actor Mark !!

HAPPY EASTER!! Hope your day has been great!

Haha I guess ive been pretty busy. Had to take care of a lot of things before i head off on a road trip tomorrow! I suppose i can share what i was cooking yesterday. Two screenshots from the thumbs im cleaning up. Ill do a proper wip update soon, but i havent gotten to cleaning up my thumbs from the animated part id like to show. So out of context donnie and leo for now!

Im like…really secretive when it comes to my projects. And this project in particular ive been keeping under careful wraps. Not even my bestie, who i spam on the regular with wip updates, has seen anything from this project (altho im pretty sure i told him what its about…maybe he also saw one thumbnail. But thats it) I have very few spoiler free shots on this one and im guarding my song choice with every fiber of my being. So ya youre the first to see anything at all past my thumbnail stage even if it is just an itty bitty small bite.

I might continue to be a little quiet this week between being on the road and sightseeing with friends, but my goal is to finish my storyboards by the end of the week cuz guess who isnt doing the actual driving!! Who knows, maybe ill share an actual wip thats animated sometime this week

Okay, this is probably going to be a bit of a mess, but I'll try to keep it concise. Not jinxing it at all. Going off the top of my head... (drum roll)

Canon

Kilik/Xianghua: It's not for nothing that I summed this one up as "complicated, but dammit if I'm not there for the emotional roller-coaster" in this ask from a while back. I don't want to harp on why the way it ended in the old timeline makes sense to me, but again, I'm a sucker for star-crossed lovers. 'Tis better to have loved than to have lost than to never love at all, and all that... Also, I get the feeling that some overlook the fact that Kilik was raised in a Buddhist monastery as something that plays into his decisions.

Li Long/Chie: The accidental tragicomedy of "My girlfriend's a ninja?!", as I like to call it. Li Long started off as a hotheaded assassin who bit off more than he could chew while deep in enemy territory, and would've bled to death if Chie hadn't found him by chance. I like to imagine them gradually bonding as she nurses him back to health... all while hiding the fact that she and her father are fugitive ninjas, of course. (I've thought about these two a lot because I've had a fic languishing in my drive since 2020. Also, Chie's muteness gives me an excuse to practice describing a range of nonverbal cues for just about anything.) Long story short (pun not not intended), he went through hell and back for her... And it all worked out. Since he ends up in the ranks of the Fu-Ma clan during the pre-SC5 timeskip, I like to think he was a good adoptive dad to Natsu. He probably left the demon stuff to Chie and Taki, though.

Not canon (but I can always dream)

Siegfried/Salia: The Schwarzwind side-missions in Libra of Soul were my fuel, especially with Salia keeping the group together long after Siegfried ran off. ("Because without us, he would have no one to return to...") I think her feelings toward Siegfried were only mentioned in supplementary material before, so I was particularly happy about this part of the "Feelings Shared" side-mission:

Sounds like an open secret to me! (Pardon the uneven cropping.)

To me, Siegfried and Salia have the sort of dynamic that writes itself. Close friends, erstwhile partners-in-crime, leader and tactician... What was that line in Siegfried's SC4 prologue? Something about not letting anyone touch his heart?

To be fair, having a child born with latent Soul Edge energy would be a reasonable worry for him. That might be part of it.

Bonus: according to this relationship chart from New Legends of Projects Soul (page 118), Siegfried's mother sees Salia as "a nice girl, too good for her own son"!

And now we enter my self-indulgence zone.

I've been playing around with a (very id-driven) Mitsurugi/Taki scenario and went into crackpot mode to flesh it out. It's an AU partly because I think it would take a lot for Mitsurugi to see Taki as something more than She-who-dares-get-in-my-way... Like, oh I don't know, him jumping at the chance to do some mercenary work, even if it means getting caught up in the Fu-Ma clan's business (and Taki watching him like a hawk the entire time). A fair trade for that shard of Soul Edge he picked up long ago? This is all supposed to diverge from some point after Mitsurugi returns to Japan too late for the Battle of Sekigahara (during the pre-SC5 timeskip). For now it's a bunch of notes and scenes clogging my phone's memo app.

There's just... something about a pair of rivals growing to trust each other enough to show their vulnerable sides, I'll say that much for now. Man, that was a lot of words for what started as my brain going NOW KISS.

The forecast indicates an opening well over $100m for INSIDE OUT 2, which is really no surprise to me. Animated movies, even sequels to beloved favorites, tend to be underestimated before opening. They don't make huge bucks right out of the gate like frontloaded fan-driven things like MCU movies and the like. Their business is more in the walk-ups at the theaters, and make those big totals on Saturdays and Sundays. Hence why projections can be quite low. MARIO is a good example, some analysts had that at $70-90m for its opening.

That looks to be the case with INSIDE OUT 2, a sequel to a movie that made $90m on its opening weekend unadjusted... 9 years ago. Of course it was gonna stay flat at the very least, but some projections are suggesting it could cruise past $120m.

The all-timer opening weekends for animated movies:

$191m - THE LION KING (2019)

$182m - INCREDIBLES 2 (2018)

$146m - THE SUPER MARIO BROS. MOVIE (2023)

$135m - FINDING DORY (2016)

So, it'll be with the big leagues either way, but I'll be curious to see how high it goes.

Of course, some of the trades are seemingly celebrating this win for all the wrong reasons... And I'm sure Disney execs will use it as some sort of justification for something regarding their original movies. Don't be surprised if another sequel gets slotted before D23 this year, or some time thereafter. But the good news is, people get to keep their jobs once more.

I think $300-400m domestic is also pretty much a lock, could even challenge $1 billion worldwide. For Disney, this is their biggest animated release since FROZEN II, nearly five years ago. In terms of animated movies in general released after March 2020, this may share the top spots with Mario and the Minions.

On the one hand, I'm happy to see Disney finally get some BIG animation box office cake after years of movies either having to release elsewhere for the safety of audiences (SOUL, LUCA, TURNING RED) or outright flopping (LIGHTYEAR, STRANGE WORLD, WISH), and they're sure to get some more with MOANA 2, and possibly MUFASA at the end of the year... But, at the same time, there's all the corporate nonsense. I keep thinking, what are they going to say if ELIO and such perform more like ELEMENTAL?: "Uhhh, uhhh? I guess trying to do this 'general appeal' thing didn't work either??"

INSIDE OUT 2, coupled with MOANA 2, ZOOTOPIA 2, TOY STORY 5, FROZEN III & IV, etc. should make back what was "lost" on the other movies. I'm not against sequels funding the originals, that's the way it has been with many studios since the 2000s, I'm just more concerned about how Disney will go about the originals being made at both studios. If INSIDE OUT 2 holds on at the box office in the coming weeks, it'll just tell me that audiences liked the new story, and that there doesn't need to be any of this needless meddling of Pixar's filmmaking processes. INSIDE OUT 2 was approached the same way ELEMENTAL, TURNING RED, etc. were - so if it has great legs after an expectedly big opening, then that just proves my point. And vindicates those so-called audience-unfriendly movies.

But yeah, I expect a big sequel drop from Pixar by the end of the year. Something that'll come out probably 2-3 years after TOY STORY 5.

SUNDAY UPDATE: Estimates have it at $155m. Could go higher when tomorrow rolls around... Big doins'.

MONDAY UPDATE: $154m. Great CinemaScore grade. This thing's smashing $400m domestic, maybe even makes a play for $500m. $1 billion worldwide locked, too?

Even though her job was to keep many- a big part of it was finding other secrets.

Breaking encryption.

Processing data.

The likes.

The base wasn't that much different than any other base she had been in. Save for not speaking the language- which had happened a good two times before and she had managed.

But, she felt like there were a lot of secrets around her.

After she had finished vomiting, the heat on her cheeks and face flushed with strain and embarrassment.

What a great first impression.

Apparently whoever 'Alejandro' was, he was busy and wouldn't be joining them for a while. So they had opted to wait, Rodolfo- or Rudy, that's what Soap called him took them into a building on the asphalt.

Must've been similar to previous locations, not many people were around.

Possibly for higher ranks?

She wasn't really sure.

Not like she could read Spanish.

"How you doing?" Soap asked, dropping back to check up on her.

"I'm fine." She grumbled.

Sure, she still felt like shit.

Seemed to be a constant.

And it didn't seem like it would be changing anytime soon, so why complain about it?

Soap nodded, sensing her mood and her short responses projecting a blaring 'don't talk to me, I'll puke'.

They walked into what seemed to be a conference room, and tried their best to get settled. Jitters quickly made her way into a chair, staring up at the ceiling of the space they were confined too.

Ghost was stiff, more than normal.

And that was saying something because he was usually stiff.

She felt a little better, in all honesty. But it still felt like she'd been hit by a bus. She started tapping her finger on the table in front of her, looking around the room.

Her eyes landed on Rudy, who was nearly doing the same as her, glancing around the room and subtly fidgeting with his hands under the table. Their eyes met and she quickly glanced away, slightly embarrassed at getting caught.

To try and rebound, she glanced over to Soap. "So... Still don't know why we are here."

Soap tilted his head over to her. "Rudy and Alejandro are friends. We needed to go somewhere with people we could trust." He explained.

"Still, very vague." She replied. "I feel like I'm out of the loop here."

"You've been unconscious for nearly forty-eight hours, that's why." Ghost huffs out, looking over to Rudy. "What's his ETA?"

"Soon." Rudy nervously replies, giving the masked man an uneasy glance.

And soon he was right.

It was still a few more moments of awkward, suffocating silence until the door pushed open- rather loudly and a man walked in. It must've been Alejandro- that or she was even more out of the loop.

"Haha! Hermanos! What took you so long for a visit!" He calls into the room, a toothy grin plastered on his features.

Kind of reminded her of a car salesman.

A used car salesman.

Ghost stood, shaking the man's hand. Soap following to do the same.

"Always good to see you." Soap said.

"And who's this?" Alejandro asked, nodding over to Jitters.

Jitters looked up, almost as if she was a deer caught in the headlights for a moment.

Well, who was she?

What was she really to the group?

"Jitters." She says, a little quickly.

"She's been with us for a while- tech specialist." Soap adds. "Little under the weather right now."

"Got that right." Jitters grunted.

Alejandro stood, shooting her a strange glance before turning to Ghost.

"I wish it was under better terms mate, but we're needin' help." Ghost starts.

"Of course, the Los Vaqueros always support our brothers." He nods. "So what's the story?"

Ghost paused for a moment, glancing at Soap who stood.

"Hey Rudy, you guys have the infirmary in the same place?"

"Si- same location." He nods.

"I'm gonna go drag 'er over there. Maybe they'll stick an IV in her. Fasten the recovery."

Jitters eyes narrowed.

There were secrets in this room,

secrets that were being kept from her.

She could see it.

The hesitant but calculated follow-through of his words, standing, and moving over to her shooing her up and out of the door.

She sighed, standing and walking out of the room and giving Ghost a cautionary glance before the door closed behind them.

Should she say something?

Maybe she was just imagining it, overthinking it.

Maybe she wasn't supposed to be here as a PMC.

Maybe.

Maybe?

Maybe.

"The adults have to talk alone?" She says, a little sourly over to Soap as she follows him.

"It's not like that." He frowns.

"Sure seems like it." She replies.

He sighs, staying quiet for a while.

She tailed him, following him outside once more and across the pavement into another building. Immediately the scent of sanitizer- alcohol- whatever that telltale stench of cleanliness that hung in every infirmary ever wafted into her nose.

"They aren't sticking me." She mumbles.

"Hell they aren't." He replies.

"I'll fuckin' run."

"You'll get ten feet and puke everywhere."

"I'll puke on you."

"You wouldn't dare."

"Guess you'll have to find out then." She bites, crossing her arms and looking around.

A nurse pops her head out from behind a door, calling out to them in Spanish.

"Uh..." Soap paused for a moment. "¿Podemos tener algo.... er. de ayuda?"

Jitters mouth dropped, looking at him.

He glances over at her, giving her a confused expression. "You're gonna catch a fly."

"You speak Spanish?"

"What?"

"You just spoke Spanish."

"Yea?"

"How?"

"Using my mouth?"

The woman approached, and he pointed to Jitters. "ella fue drogada, puede..... Uh... puede tener una vía intravenosa?"

She stood, flabbergasted.

"Wait- what did you ask?

"To get something to stick ya with."

"How the fuck do you know Spanish?"

"We've been on over six missions together in countries that speak Spanish, have you picked up none?" He asked, giving her an amused glance.

"I-"

The nurse grabbed Jitters by the arm, leading her into the back and motioning for her to sit down in a chair. Quickly disappearing around the corner, the clicks of her heels filled the void of sound.

"What are they talking about?" She asked.

"Who?"

"You know who I'm talking about."

"Nope."

"Now you're just being an ass."

Soap sighs. "Probably about what happened- and since you don't exactly remember what happened, there really isn't any use for you to be there."

"So they're making decisions, about me, without me there."

"Kind of."

Her chest tightened.

A familiar feeling of dread spreading its palms across her sternum.

"Does Laswell know?"

"No, why?" Soap shot her a questionable glance.

Well, at least that's some good news.

That was a whole other dreadful topic she didn't want to dip her toes into.

What if she found out, and that was the final straw.

What even happened?

Was it her fault?

Well, she got drugged-

but she was drunk.

Why wasn't she asleep?

"Why..." She paused for a moment, watching the nurse return to the room with a IV kit. "You've got to be fucking kidding me-"

She made a move to stand, but Soap reached his hand out, grabbing her shoulder and pushing her back down into her seat.

The nurse made a move, grabbing her arm and putting it up onto the armrest of the chair. Ripping open a single alcohol pad and rubbing it against her arm.

"Fuck..." She trailed off looking as she prepped the needle.

"Don't look at it."

She was getting stitches but into her high by a medic inside the compound. Ghost looming behind her and running an arm around her back and under her armpits when she began to stumble, carrying her into the medical bay.

They'd torn open her pantleg, taking a look at the bloody gash on her thigh. He sat with her, silently while they coated her leg in alcohol, wiping off the grime, and started the process of stitching her up.

She whined, after glancing down and seeing the needle price her skin.

"Don't look at it." He comments.

Her eyes snapped over to his, good arm reaching out and grabbing his wrist. "It fuckin' hurts." She whines.

"Blood is supposed to stay on the inside." He comments.

"Was that a shitty joke?" She asked.

"No. It was a fact."

She blinked once, twice, and a third time before turning her head and looking at Soap.

Try as she may, trying to think of what happened that night- she couldn't.

No matter how hard she tried,

she simply could not remember.

And it was infuriating to her.

What had happened?

Was she alone?

Why would she be alone?

Who found her then?

Did something happen?

If this was a computer, she'd extract the deleted information- rebuild it.

Fix the problem.

She felt powerless.

She kept finding herself in that position.

Powerless.

She could feel the needle piercing her arm, the needle forcing its way into her vein.

"Johnny." She whispered.

"Yea?"

"Why was I alone that night?"

He wasn't looking at her, his gaze fixed onto the wall.

He refused to look.

Not that she'd see it as that.

It was eating him from the inside out.

He could see the conflict and confusion in her eyes.

Did she blame herself?

Should he let her?

"That's.... That's part of the puzzle." He said softly.

He prayed she would take that and not need anymore.

There were secrets.

They hovered around.

Circled in the air like taunting demons.

And she could see them.

Feel them.

She would just have to wait and see if they were hers, or the others in the room.

...

Not that she'd admit it, but that IV did the trick.

Didn't help the shitty mood she was in, though.

There were secrets everywhere.

And she was out of the loop.

And she was getting antsy.

It didn't help that not only Ghost, but Soap were avoiding her.

Maybe she was simply overthinking it.

The distinct lack of their presence almost made it seem intentional.

So she wandered, she was good at that.

It was better than sitting, staring at a wall, trying and failing to remember what happened.

She really didn't mean to snoop.

She could honestly say that it was accidental.

But she couldn't help but push up against the wall as she heard the distinct sound of Ghost's voice in a room.

"Yes Sir, I understand." He said.

She peeked in through the doorway, to find him not facing her. His back to the doorway with his phone up to his ear, one hand resting on his hip.

"No, we will be on schedule to leave with the new plans."

She ducked out from the doorway. She wasn't going to be caught snooping, at least not now.

New plans?

They were leaving already?

Price wasn't even here.

What the fuck was happening.

i really like lethal woman and sand possibly even more. i dont tend to gravitate to the sadder stuff but its just so beautifully done.

as ive said, i do not claim white glove bc im a mostly sex-repulsed ace lol, but i like the other ones a lot and roughly on the same level as one another. maybe ill have a more decisive ranking later on but as of now ill put them at gods game, fragile things, and still, tho theyre all very close. like sand, theyre all somber but still have a beauty to them, which sounds like what she was going for. i have learned i need to limit my listening of them or they make me too sad tho lol.

And because of this , i don't know what to say about him outside of him being animator/Joey's ex business partner and Linda's husband .

I can note that Buddy has strong sense of justice and i can note that Audrey is disorganized based on her desk from prologue being a total mess. (my friends helped me with putting this together with some more things about them.)

But i struggle with Henry really badly . It's feels like a huge shame

no need to be ashamed of anything! henrys personality is also a bit bland at least in the games just because he doesnt do much but be the quiet protagonist you can project onto (much like audrey)

the way i see him though, he seems quite aloof but very determined. definitely the type of guy to overwork himself just to get the job finished

he also seems like he mightve been a bit of a people pleaser pre batim, but definitely isnt incapable of feeling distain. we know from his secret tape that he quickly got fed up with joey bossing him around as well as the strict deadlines, despite being a very reserved guy. though with him being so reserved he definitely isnt one to voice his grievances, he seems like the type to just keep his feelings to himself especially any negative ones

i imagine he just tries to hold it all in. i mean- seeing how he dealt with malice he really just sucked it up and pressed forward, but never really verbally expressed anger when he had every chance to

i feel like he just wants to help people but often takes on more than he can chew. hes willing to do anything to get home, ans he misses his wife. unfortunately with batdr i doubt thatll ever happen. hes clearly in much worse spirits when we do see him in batdr, the cycles and being imprisoned obviously took a toll on him

hopefully this makes sense! i also have trouble discerning character personalities, especially when theyre very reserved like henry or audrey is. whereas characters like joey, buddy, and sammy are much more intense in their own ways, which makes it easier for me to understand them

i also never know how to describe personalities so i hope i did a good enough job here 😭 maybe i could get more input from others either through replies here or in my ask box bc id love to see other interperetations of him

TLDR; hes determined, reserved, and even stubborn. hes adamant on sticking to his goals no matter how futile they seem. hes a tired old man that needs a break 😭 IVE ALSO GATHERED HE'S QUITE FRIENDLY WHEN HES COMFORTABLE as we see with buddy

WELL anon, I'm glad you asked because I constantly feel the need to infodump about Globby and I often don't really get the chance to!

Note: okay so I ended up going WAY more in depth about Globby's first couple appearances then I probably should have so quick TL:DR; they're both Just Some Guy(tm) who went through a horrific, life changing accident and decided to become a supervillain because of it. They both start out as relatively incopetent joke villains that the main cast doesn't take seriously, but after fucking up and falling into a hole in the ground, they find out that they're much more powerful than they thought they were and then kick the heroes' asses, all while maintaining the "literally just some guy" energy. They also both fuckin- bully the shit out of a 15 year old-

See, Globby is a recurring antagonist-turned-ally in the Big Hero 6 spin off series, Big Hero 6: the Series(creative title I know). He starts off the show as a petty theif named Dibs who, in his first(cameo) appearance is getting dangled off of a roof by that bot fighter from the first movie, Yama. Also I know this doesn't sound similar to the Spot yet but we'll get there I promise-

After that, he doesn't *officially* get introduced until a few episodes later in Big Roommates 2. This is where we find out his name, his occupation, and how bad he is at being a thief on account of his general clumsiness. So in a bid to prove himself as a theif, he steals Honey Lemon's chem purse. As in her purse full of literally every chemical known to man.

So after unknowingly stealing possibly the most dangerous thing he could've stolen, Dibs runs off to the abandoned warehouse that Callaghan was using to mass produce Hiro's nanobots in the first movie, where he tries to open the portable chem lab. He manages to try a couple of times before Allistair Krei, also from the first movie, just walks into the warehouse, forcing him to hide. Turns out he's been using this warehouse to house a secret project, a rip off legally distinct copy of Hiro's nanotech headband thingy that can, appearently, control anything it's linked to? Very unclear how that works but he tells his assisstant it's worth billions and they leave. Now Dibs, ever the opportunist, decides that he's gonna steal that now actually. He ends up putting it on, but through a series of accidents, also ends up making the chem purse explode all over him, launching what I can only assume is a horrible concoction of every chemical known to man onto him. THIS is where the similarities start appearing between him and the Spot, because instead of dying like he absolutely should have, the chemicals end up fusing to his body and he becomes basically just a sentient mass of goo being held together by a very special headband.

And so after being horrifically mutated, Dibs decides to do his best Michael Afton impression and just. Walk through a busy street in the middle of the day. Because reasons I guess. See, I think the main difference between him and the Spot is that, while Spot had pretty much everything to loose when he went through his horrific life altering accident, Globby had nothing. Not to say he didn't have *some* things going for him, but he didn't have a job(unless being a theif counts as a job?), he was already estranged from his family(as proven in a later episode), and he only had one friend, who also happens to be the chillest man alive. So this is less of a life ruining thing for him and more of a minor inconvenience that he mostly chalks up to being incredibly unlucky and his main motivation is just getting some modicum of control over his new physiology. At least in this first episode. Anyways blah blah blah Fred names him Globby blah blah blah he kidnaps Krei blah blah blah he decides to be a supervillain and runs away. Though I think I should also mention that, while Globby doesn't really blame anyone for how he ended up like this(despite kidnapping Krei), Honey Lemon does blame HERSELF even though it is absolutely not her fault that he stole her purse. Idk just felt like an interesting thing to inject into the analysis.

Now Globby's NEXT appearance in the episode Failure Mode is where most of the similarities between the two show up, because Globby's arc in this episode is literally just Spot's arc in the movie. Like I'm not joking it's the same thing-

Globby attempts an art heist and is immediately stopped by Big Hero 6(sans Wasabi and Gogo), who immediately don't take him seriously because of course they don't, he sucks at this. Their individual reactions are kind of mixed bags, with Hiro making fun of him, Fred just being excited to fight a monster I guess, and Honey Lemon just being kind of upset that he's trying to steal a painting she really likes. Globby ends up putting up a decent fight but in the end gets takin down by Big Hero 6. They don't catch him though because, in his words, "they don't even make pants that can hold (him)!"

A couple scenes later, we switch from the kind of boring subplot about Hiro's school project back to Globby's second attempt at the heist! This time he gets in, but ends up trapped in the building when it goes into lockdown mode despite literally saying in the last scene that he can't be contained(he's an idiot I love him sm). He doesn't get out of the museum until Big Hero 6 arrive, and this confrontation goes pretty much the same as the first. EXCEPT!!!!!! After Baymax took the painting he tried to steal back and Globby splatters all over the asphalt, Honey Lemon makes an ice ball to throw at him. This frightens Globby enough to make him turn into water and go down the sewer grate next to him. Y'know. As ya do.

After flowing through the sewer, Globby ends up filtering out into a random field just outside of town. He reforms into his usual purple-ish pink-ish goo form, astounded by what he just did. So he decides to experiment and this scene is literally just a shorter version of the spotted demension scene in ATSV. Like it just. It is.

And so, after fully mastering his insane power set, Globby goes back for one more attempt at the heist aND ACTUALLY SUCCEEDS???? Yeah my man's kicks every single member of Big Hero 6's ass ON HIS OWN and then manages to run off with the painting! Which, sidetracking from the Spot comparisons for a sec, that just doesn't happen very often in superhero cartoons! Like the villain almost never beats the main characters in one off episodes like this, which I really appreciate the writers doing. Idk it's just kinda refreshing. Oh yeah also we find out Globby is working for the main big bad of the show in this episode but that doesn't really matter for this analysis-

ANYWAYS you can see what I mean by Globby and the Spot having the same arc, right??? Incopetent villain wants to be taken seriously after an attempted robbery gone wrong. They end up falling down a hole because their powers backfire on them a bit, but this leads to them discovering their full potential and they end up beating the shit out of the main heroes and achieving their short term goal. The only real differences are that Globby is working for somebody and doesn't turn into like. An eldritch abomination at the end of the episode.

Anyways that's where the super big similarities end, since we don't know what's gonna happen to the Spot after his "Failure Mode arc" is what I guess I'm calling it for the sake of this analysis. Globby ended up redeeming himself at the end of the first season, though it was kind of rushed, and tbh I hope that's what they do with the Spot in Beyond bcuz I want the silly to be okay :(

Anyways there is one more thing I want to point out and it's that both of them are really out here beating the shit out of 15 year olds huh. Like you could make the argument that Spot doesn't actually know Miles is a teenager, which would actually make sense and also be really funny, but Globby does NOT have that kind of excuse. Like Hiro doesn't cover his face very well at ALL, it is very obvious that that man is a child. And even if Globby DIDN'T pick it up on his own, Obake, his boss, DOES know Hiro is a child, and based off of Globby's reaction(or lack there of) to seeing Hiro unmasked, it's probably safe to assume that Obake told him who Hiro was under the mask. Which MEANS Globby willingly went up to a fuckin child and called him WEAK AND USELESS????? HELLO????? Seriously omfg I know Obake told him to do that but he WENT ALONG WITH IT DESPITE PRESUMABLY KNOWING HIRO IS A CHILD AT THIS POINT- LIKE I LOVE YA MAN BUT THAT'S REALLY HARD TO DEFEND-

For this update, we’d like to announce that we have reworded our stance on “Characters from upcoming games”, as well as our spoiler window!

Before, it was that any character from a game that was “Unfinished” would have to wait until the game was finished for you to apply them, but upon further discussion with members, we concluded that this was a bit too much, so, now

You are allowed to apply characters from games that are in “Early Access” (As much as you could if a show’s season isn’t over!), so long as they have a characterization or plot that is set in stone and is unlikely to change! Basically, if the character has enough to work with, you’re good!

Though, if a character is mysterious with a backstory that is largely made up by headcanons or fan interpretation, we ask that you wait until there is much more to work with! (An example of this would be Kris and Ralsei from Deltarune, there’s quite a lot about them that we don’t know...)

And in the case of a character taking a shocking left turn, please look into updating them, or making them canon divergent! <:

And secondly, we would like to revise our stance on “Spoiler characters”, essentially, from now on, a month wait is enough for most characters that are considered spoilers (Minor to Moderate), after a month has passed since a game’s release or a spoiler episode, you should be good...

Unless they are considered a “Walking Spoiler”, a massive spoiler of a character that can change the flow of a story and who’s mere existence is a spoiler in itself. For that, you’ll likely be waiting 2 months or more, and the mod team will review if it’s ok for that character to be played, given how they may spoil something for people joining!

Over all, it’s much more of a case-by-case basis now, we may even shorten the wait time to apply characters from a new IP to two weeks! But, for now, we hope this results in many new and interesting characters joining us!

For other updates, we’re hoping to have posts up about some of the changes we’ve made to Elsternwick, including the Job System (Pretty simple!), an update to our wording on the ban list, and a few other fun surprises, and we hope you’ll look forward to reading about them!

tagged by @autistic-sidestep! thank you for the tag :D i have,,, so many wips rn. pulp stop starting a million projects challenge. all of these are very rough, and a lot of them feature other steps, but i wanted to share a few :]

for writing, ive got these:

“What the hell, man!” Mitchel hisses. He’s let go, but he hasn’t bothered lowering his voice. Too loud, but real. Caine groans, pulling themselves up from the mattress. At least it wasn’t the floor– this could’ve hurt a lot worse. They wince at the throb in their shoulder as they reach for the wall, probing for a light switch. When he flicks it on reality re-establishes itself once more.  It’s Caine’s room, familiarly bare-bones. There’s only a singular twin sized bed in one corner of the room and a desk just across, with a heap of laundry they haven’t bothered to do taking up the chair. Mitchel stands on the mattress in the middle, both parts pissed and bleary eyed. His cheek is a lightish colour that’s a telltale sign it’s going to bruise, and a portion of his blanket stubbornly clings onto his shoulder. There’s no threat in here, or at least nothing more threatening than Mitchel annoyed. The knowledge doesn’t stop the blood pounding in their ears.

-caine wakes up and gets jumpscared by @hyper-pixels mitchel. they react to this calmly.

Marshal Steel has hair stuck in his finger joints. That's the first thing Daniel noticed when he came in to work this morning. Steel has his civilian hands on, which is normal when he has admin work. Those civilian hands will usually have hair in it too, mostly from Spoon. That's also normal. What's not normal is the colour; because instead of the odd tufts of grey fur Daniel's used to seeing scattering Steel's joints, this is a single, longer strand that he's sure wasn't left on purpose. Because the hair strand is brown. Suspiciously similar to Ortega's own brown hair.

-herald is suspicious that his boss is having another secret relationship with a pretty old man, but its none of his business! not at all. thats why hes eavesdropping on them from the breakroom pantry.

“What are you two talking about?” Ortega jerks, nearly spilling coffee all over Wei, tearing a curse out of him as he yanks his head to the direction of the voice.  Speak of the devil. Caine glances between the two, head cocked. When did he get here? Ortega doesn't remember inviting him, and nobody told him he was coming either. Not that Ortega isn't happy to see him, but the timing… “Dios mio, Spot, how long have you been standing there?” he mutters. He gives his coffee a once over, but nothing's spilled.  He turns back to Caine and double takes. The poor guy looks like he's just run a marathon– he's drenched in his own sweat. He's not wearing his raggedy sweater, for once. Instead, he's got a skintight suit with a simple white tee over it.

-a multi-pov fic featuring the same conversation, but told from the perspective of ortega, chen, and caine. trying to practice voices with it, and so far its been fun digging into each of them!

I think I’m on the opposite side of the adhd spectrum, where when I start a project, I often find myself hyper focusing so hard on it that I can’t focus on anything else until it’s done LOL (thankfully i can finish the smaller projects in a day, and Ive often been multitasking with for exemple doing rows of crochet while reading my textbooks haha)
