You winced internally, bracing yourself for the inevitable teasing that was about to come your way.

"... in order to avoid any injuries, may I please open my eyes soon?"

Vyn's question ended with an amused lilt, letting you know that he wasn't actually too worried or criticizing you harshly. Nonetheless, you couldn't help but let out a soft "hmph" in indignation.

"I gave you perfectly clear directions," you countered. "And I'm the one who blocked you from running into the door post in the nick of time, so aren't I the one who needs to worry more about bumps or bruises?!"

The soft chuckle that left Vyn's lips stirred your heart like a spring breeze. "That's precisely why I want to open my eyes," he murmured, and despite the fact that his eyes were closed, you still felt a rush of heat flush your cheeks at the thought of him seeing you pout. "If you were to be injured on my behalf, I simply wouldn't be able to forgive myself."

Letting out a resigned sigh, you finally came to a stop, urging Vyn to halt beside you. "Luckily for both of us, we're here. You can open your eyes now."

Vyn wasn't a person who readily showed his emotions. However, even he couldn't fully suppress his surprise as you felt his palm grow warmer in yours and as you heard his breath gently hitch in his throat.

"Surprise!"

Balloons as shiny as sunlight. Streamers as vibrant as flowers. A spread of sweets as alluring as jewels. Smiling faces filling him with a sensation that was growing warmer and less foreign every day.

"Happy birthday, Vyn!"

Artem, Luke, Marius, and of course you, had prepared a humble but passionate birthday celebration for Vyn in his garden. You felt a swell of pride seeing the genuine shock on your lover's face; while he was exceptionally perceptive and quick to predict the actions or behaviors of others, he seemed awestruck to see the four friends who had prepared a small party in his honor.

"You put this together... for me?" Vyn didn't even try to hide the amazement in his voice.

Somewhere behind you, you heard Marius mutter, "Because jiejie asked me t--"

A quick blur flashed in the corner of your eye, and Marius immediately grew silent. You couldn't be sure if it was an arm or a leg that just moved, but you made a mental note to thank Luke later for preventing Marius from ruining the moment.

"That's what friends are for!" you replied, beaming at Vyn as you reveled in the warmth bubbling inside you. "A little birdie once told me that a certain Dr. Richter isn't too fond of lavish parties, where everyone has ulterior motives and nobody's kindness is genuine." You smiled softly. "Of course, this doesn't compare to the parties you grew up with, but... A small gathering of people who truly care about you isn't the worst way to spend a birthday."

You then turned and nodded to Artem, who nodded back in acknowledgement. "We also brought you gifts, as it's your birthday." He held out a simple but elegantly wrapped package. "I selected a couple of movies that I thought might be to your taste. They're DVDs, but if you use some other method to watch videos, let me know and I'll see what I can do."

Luke came up next with a large bag that looked as though it had been prepared in a hurry. "Being in the antique business, I see a lot of record players," he began. "Rosa told me you have a record player, so I picked out a couple of vinyl records for you. He scratched his nose. "You know who to call if your player has any issues, of course."

Finally Marius stepped up to a covered easel, puffing his chest. "And... I think you need to brighten up your office, so I painted you a little something. No refunds, no exchanges on this one-of-a-kind piece." With a dramatic flourish, he revealed a canvas depicting an exquisitely painted bouquet of flowers, in which one rose stood out as the biggest and brightest flower of them all.

"And... I did my best to bake some of the pastries you showed me how to make," you finished. "Artem lent me a hand, so I hope they're tasty enough for you!"

Vyn chuckled softly. Evidently he had recovered some of his senses, as he lowered his glowing golden gaze to meet your own. Adoration lit up his smile and tinted his nose and cheeks pink. "I'm sure they're perfect," he cooed. "All of this is... perfect." He lowered his forehead to touch yours, and warmth poured off him in waves, flowing into you. "I never knew that I could enjoy birthdays... until I met you. Thank you, my sweet rose, for continuing to surprise me every day with the depth of your love and the beauty of your soul."

He lifted his head for a brief moment, calling to Luke, "Can we please test one of those vinyls now? I have one more selfish request, as the guest of honor for this party."

Now his attention turned back to you, and judging from the smile spread across his lips and the way he squeezed your hands in his, you were the only object of his attention now.

"May I have this dance?"

Lately it was too hot so they decided to spend his birthday on the beach.

She was lying under the shade of their umbrella as she watched Artem surf. He looked cool conquering the waves that she couldn't look away from him..

"My cool fiancé" she exclaimed as soon as Artem returned to her side.

Artem cheeks turns red maybe because of the sun or he's still not used to hearing the words "cool" and "fiancé"

"Why don't we take a walk?" She stood up and extended her hands to him.

Artem smiles and grabs her hand

They walk along as the sun sets, illuminating their surroundings with an orange hue. They keep on walking away from the crowd.

Suddenly they saw a roses scattered across the sand. She pulled his hand following the path.

At the end there was a romantic candlelight dinner for two

"You" Artem looked at her

She stepped away from him to get the cake placed on the table.

"I know you're content with this trip, you're content with having me at your side. But I still want to prepare something special for you." She said as she walked back towards him.

"Happy Birthday, Artem" she continued.

In that moment Artem wanted to her if only she wasn't holding the cake

"Now, Make a wish" she said

"I don't need to wish anything cause my wish already came true the moment you came into my life" he leaned down and pressed a chaste kiss on her lips before blowing the candle.

They return back to the hotel after their romantic dinner.

She look at herself in the bathroom mirror. She bought new lingerie especially for this occassion. Adding a finishing touch, she place a ribbon on top of her head

She peaked on the bathroom door and called his name

Artem walked up to her, as soon as she revealed herself

Headcanon: Artem With a Younger Sister

(Definitely not edited)

Okay. I know that officially Artem does not have any siblings (I think), but could you imagine how much sweetness there would be as the sibling of Mr. Wing, the youngest senior attorney in Stellis? Man, writing this one might make me think that I want to be his younger sister rather than a lover lol. Either way, I hope you enjoy this one!

For context, you're three years younger than Artem, so you're born in 2004. (Yeah guys. Artem was born in 2001 according to the timeline at the beginning of the game.) I'm also pulling your sibling relationship off of the Shirogane siblings in Kaguya-Sama, so there might be some parallels. (Please don't copyright me or get me in legal trouble ;-;)

The little girl waits by the door of the classroom, trying to see her parents in the sea of people. One by one, her classmates wave her good bye, and she slowly loses hope in getting picked up today. Suddenly, in the crowd, she spots a familiar hairstyle; the young boy is slightly sweating from running as he frantically weaves through the crowd, trying to find someone. Instantly, the little girl's eyes light up, and she runs towards him.

"Artie!" she calls, her arms up and ready for him to catch her. He turns towards her and immediately catches her, picking her up. She giggles at the brief feeling of weightlessness before clinging onto her brother.

"Hey there, you little ball of energy! Did you say good bye to your teacher yet?" he greets before carrying her against his hip. Hesitantly, she shakes her head no before he walks over to the teacher by the classroom door. Setting her down, he reminds her, "What do you say then?"

"Thank you! Have a nice day, teacher!" the little girl exclaims before bowing, her brother following suit. With a bright smile on her face, the teacher bows back before the two are off walking home. He grabs his little sister's hand tightly, making sure she wasn't about to run off towards a distraction.

"Were you worried about Mom and Dad not picking you up?" he asks carefully as the two started walking on the sidewalk. The little girl nods slowly and pouts, looking at her feet kicking at the cement. Knowing that she feels slightly upset about not getting picked up, he attempts to make it up to her, "It's okay, mei mei (A/N: Chinese for little sister). I'll make sure to pick you up after my classes end; how does that sound?" He takes a step in front of her before squatting down to see her eyes. Although she tries to hide her happiness, she continues to pout her lips, but Artem can see right through her and decides to play along. "Wow, my own mei mei doesn't even want her brother around," he fake cries. "I guess I'll walk by myself."

As he fakes trudging along the sidewalk, his little sister runs up beside him and grabs his hand before trying to defend herself, "I do want ge ge (A/N: Chinese for older brother), but Mom and Dad didn't say anything about you needing to pick me up." She immediately notices her brother's face light up when she clings back onto him, and they continue walking home.

Although they are three years apart, the two siblings are very close with Artem often caring a little too much for his sister. Because of their parents' busy schedules, Artem often takes care of her even when the caretaker is there, making him an overprotective brother and her own personal bodyguard.

"Mei mei, how was your lunch today?" Artem asks, changing the topic of their conversation. When they almost approach the steps of the front porch, he suddenly remembers a detail from this morning.

"It was good!" she answers happily, making Artem's lips curve into a warm smile. "I know you cooked it though; the mapo tofu wasn't as spicy as the way our caretaker makes it." Immediately, she catches him red-handed. Although his cooking is not the best, Artem decided to cook their lunch since the caretaker wasn't feeling their best. This ended up with Artem staying in the kitchen late at night to make sure his dishes tasted good enough for his beloved little sister.

"Well I'm glad you liked it, mei mei," he responds, patting her head softly. Approaching the front door, Artem takes his set of keys out to unlock the door where his sister twists the door knob to open it. Inside, their eyes meet with two familiar backs. "You're back?" Artem asks confused as the pair starts taking off their shoes before stepping in.

"Yeah, the university let us out early for spring break, and the caretaker should take a rest," their mom answers, peeking behind her. After a quick glance at the two children, her eyes return to her hands lightly scrubbing the vegetables under the running water.

Their father silently cuts the freshly washed vegetables before he speaks up, "You two should go get cleaned up; you must be tired from school, but you must still have homework to do." With a quick glance to see the two nodding, he continues his knifework. The two siblings begin walking past them as they slowly unwind in their home.

"Mei mei, do you want to shower first?" Artem asks her as he helps her unpack her backpack. She nods before rushing to the shower. He sighs at her childness before he begins to work.

And that's a wrap! This one is a bit shorter because of work and stuff, and I want to apologize for the bad quality; it wasn't exactly what I was expecting, but what can I expect after being so busy, right? Maybe I'll come back to redo this idea or build the characters more or something. No matter how good or bad this was, I really hope that you enjoyed this one! I'll see you in the next one!

Today was a special day, especially for you. The day you were born, and it was one of ACE’s favorite days. A day all about you he calls it, and you think he’s so extra and dramatic when he talks about it. But you have to understand that people he holds close and dear to him, he’ll always go above and beyond for. Which is why you were surprised to wake up and not see him there next to you in the morning.

But your surprised reaction was cut short as you heard a familiar voice start humming from outside the door. And like that, you relaxed your body and turned your head in the direction of the window. It wasn’t a rainy day in Fontaine, it was warm with the sunlight breaking through the curtains. Normally, you would’ve been in the tents with Ace but he took a whole week off just for you so you could rest somewhere more comfortably for your birthday week.

The sound of the doorknob twisting caught your attention, your partner, Ace- no, Claude came into the room. A bright smile on his face, reaching up to his eyes when he looks at you.

“Happy birthday mon amour!” He says cheerfully, holding a tray of your favorite breakfast foods that he’s learned how to make for you. He gives you a quick kiss on the cheek and the on the forehead, placing the tray down  on your lap when you sat up to thank him. He sits on the edge of the bed, funnily enough still in the matching pajama set you decided to get for yourselves. His heart feels warm when you giggle at the sight.

He quickly stands up, seeing you try to look for a hair tie so he walks over a little behind you. “Go ahead and eat love, I’ll take care of this.” He reassures you, he gathers the hair away from your face as you start your meal. He grabs the brush on the night stand, being gentle with your hair when it came to tangles. 

You initially thought he was just going to put your hair into a low ponytail, but was happily surprised to feel him separate your hair into three parts. Ah, he was going to braid your hair. He makes light work of it, quick to finish off the braid despite the long length of your hair and tie it securely. “You have pretty hair dear, I could never get bored of playing with it.” He tells you, chuckling to himself slightly.

He takes the ribbon out his hair and uses it for your braid instead. He goes back to sitting on the edge of the bed in front of you, happily chatting with you about what you wanted to do for the day. Things with him, despite him being quite extravagant, never felt too much or overwhelming. He had a patience and understanding that goes smoother than a peaceful stream. He stops abruptly, a soft ‘hold on’ comes from his mouth and he stands up again.

He goes to the nightstand, pulling a box out from one of the drawers. You blink in confusion, trying to figure out what it could be. You had already finished your food at this point so he places the box next to you, taking your tray. “Go on, open it darling. Let me put this back.” He tells you, kissing your forehead once again before leaving. 

Your hands reach for the box, examining the packaging. This looked expensive. Really, really expensive. Opening the box, revealed to you a gold chain necklace with a matching set of earrings. The box had something ingrained on the inside, ‘For my dear Artem.’ A beautiful shade of amethyst-like crystal in the shape of honey droplets that shined prettier than diamonds. The earrings had a matching design as well.

You wanted to gasp at the sight, Claude walked back into the room already without you noticing. He chuckles and sees your pleasantly warm reaction, making him grin in return. “Do you like it? I saw it and I just thought it suited you so well. Of course that’s not the only gift I have for you, there are a bunch more in the living room.” He tells you casually, making you shake your head and laugh.

“Would you like for me to put it on you?” He asks, offering his hand out. You nod your head, gently taking the braid out of the way of your neck. He takes the necklace out and gently wraps it around, guiding the hook into place so it stays. You let go of the braid and he walks back to see how it looks on you. He giggles, holds your face and kisses your nose. He had that adoring look in his eyes as per usual.

“Happy birthday darling. I can’t explain how happy I am to have you in my life.”

You’re now one year older and I’m proud to see you make it this far. I know these years haven’t came easy to you, and I know that you struggled deeply within times. Words cannot describe the amount of joy it brings me to see and hear you continuing to live your life. Though you’re older now, I still consider you my child if you’ll allow me too and I hope this year brings you much happiness and perseverance through it all. I know that I unfortunately am not around all that often, and that I am in the Inner World majority of the time but just know that no matter the distance, my support and care for you does not waver in the slightest. Hello everyone, I'm Zhao Lu. "Zhao" like in "Zhao Lu", "Lu" like in "Zhao Lu". I voice the elite lawyer Artem Wing in "Tears of Themis".

[T/N: Because each syllable can be written many different ways, in a self-introduction Chinese people will often specify the characters in their name by using common words or phrases as a reference. Zhao Lu just uses his own name as a reference which obviously clarifies nothing, so it's a joke.]

(0:29) Q1: Can you tell us your own impression of the character?

The great lawyer Artem, he's... See, so many of the characters I voice are similar to me. I'm kidding. Don't laugh!

When it comes to Artem, everyone’s first impression of him may be that he's cold, aloof, even a bit harsh or unreasonable. Of course, the premise is that he's a very kind, very upright, even a very straightforward male character. But as everyone gradually tries out the game, during that process they'll discover that he's actually quite approachable and easy to get along with. I also think he's a very – not warm, not gentle or mild either, but I think he's a very careful person.

First of all, because he's a lawyer, he inherently has a very meticulous, very careful form of logic and thought process. In addition, he’s very careful when doing things, including when interacting with others. Exactly how he's careful is something I know, but everyone else might have to gradually open up his careful side through playing the game. Later on, as everyone gets to know Artem better, they may even think he has a bit of gap moe. Everyone knows him as such an outstanding and elite lawyer, such a perfect character, that it's surprising to see that he has no experience when it comes to love. So I think that aspect is pretty interesting.

Besides that, his sports were also pretty unexpected to me. I feel like people with this kind of image usually play squash. Among my friends who are lawyers, there are a lot of them who play squash, or tennis. But I didn't expect Mr. Wing's favorite sport to be an Olympic event that started in the 1900 Olympics, Olympic trap, and he's apparently pretty good. He also spends some free time fishing. Ah, I'm so jealous of his life.

(2:29) Q2: When playing the character, what do you think is the most charming part about Artem?

I think the most charming part about him has to be how straightforward he is. How he deals with things, including how meticulous he is with cases, his impeccable attention to detail... Basically, I think he's a straight line. In every aspect, whether in life or work or even emotionally, he's a straight line. He doesn't have times where he deviates like this [Zhao Lu moves his hand side-to-side]. The only time when he might deviate a little would have to be when the MC is involved. That's right, those things might make him consider and waver a bit in his judgement. That's being driven by his emotions after all, that's for sure.

(3:14) Q3: How are you and Artem most similar? And most different?

He's an upright, mature, steady person... we're no different. Who says that we're different! [laughs] Even I'm embarrassed [about that joke]. I think, how should I say this, I think my personality also has a relatively steady part to it. Yes, so when I voice Artem, I think that part fits. But I'm nowhere near as strict as Mr. Wing. I'm not saying that I'm mischievous, just that I'm not as strict. You could say that I'm more flexible, and Artem, as we said, is a straight line. I think his logical analyses, his judgements and viewpoints, including his ideologies, are all very firm, yes. But of course he also knows when to make adjustments, he's not unchangeable.

When singing "Husband and Wife Returning Home", I felt... very... joyful. Don't laugh. Right. I think that singing in the game, including performing things like rhymes or Chinese opera, is good experience for the actor. But the requirements for Artem were… Well, he's a rather straightforward person. His personality isn't completely open, which we've all seen in his and Celestine’s day-to-day talks. When you put him in a public setting like this and make him sing, you have to show him going from kind of resistant at first, to gradually accepting reality. It was a bit challenging to play this process of gradually cheering up and loosening up, but I still felt pretty happy. If possible, I'd like to say to the writers, "Don't write me any more opera songs to sing. Thank you."

I think "Tears of Themis" has great gameplay, including many details about investigation or finding clues, that is worth exploring. To be honest, through the process of solving each case, including the final moment of conclusion, people might think, "Wow, this is different from what I expected." It can even reveal certain social phenomena or comment on some general knowledge. I don't think it's just a game, I think some details and aspects of it can be really moving for the players. So I really recommend that everyone try this game.

So 400 from temple of Themis, 300 from his birthday puzzle thingy, 175 (If I rmb correctly) from the last level of Trials of Themis, 180 from 1 Achievement ( level up 20 skills to level 10), 50 from Achievement (upgrade Luke cards 100 times) + daily 60 for 3 days...

Dancing With the Stars celebrated Disney's 100th anniversary with a night dedicated to the music from the company's first century. We opened with a performance of "Bare Necessities" that accompanied the pros all riding in Hyundai IONIQ 5 SUVs which come with a Disney100 edition. We even got a glimpse of Val and Jenna's son Roman and he is adorable. Of course Mickey and Minnie dropped by to help our stars celebrate and the audience was even given special light up Mickey ears to wear in the ballroom as well.

On a somber note, the show paid tribute to former contestant Suzanne Somers who died over the weekend. They showed a picture of her before the show and Alfonso gave a little speech toward the end that was accompanied by a picture of her and partner Tony. It was a sweet moment.

Alfonso also had another sweet moment at the very end of the show when he wished former partner Witney Carson a happy birthday.

So who had a happy ending and who had their Disney Dreams crushed? Let's check it out!

Adrian and Britt: I'm not very surprised that Adrian got eliminated this week. His Viennese waltz to Dumbo's "Baby Mine" was nice but it didn't really standout. I always make it a point to really watch every dance and not let myself get distracted but even when this one ended, I knew I wasn't going to remember it. And I didn't. The most memorable thing was that he was accompanied by pianist Chloe Flowers on a special edition piano made by Steinway to commemorate Disney's 100th anniversary. So that didn't bode well for him and his elimination proved it.

Xochitl and Val: Xochitl landed at the top of leaderboard by herself this week with her paso doble to "Un Poco Loco" from the movie Coco. It was an unusual choice for a paso doble, which was acknowledged by the judges. The song is faster than the traditional paso and is more of a silly song while the paso is a rather serious dance. But Xochitl handled it like a pro and showed why she is a serious contender for the Len Goodman mirrorball trophy. I think this will be a routine that goes down in DWTS history.

Ariana and Pasha: Fun fact - Ariana used to work at Disney World after graduating college. It sounds like she may have been a princess based on Julianne's comments during Ariana's skybox interview. I can see it. Anyway, Ariana channeled Elsa for a contemporary routine to "Into the Unknown" from Frozen 2. And while it was a beautiful routine, it felt a little too safe for me. I wish Pasha had given Ariana some more complex moves and really let her act out some of the angst of this song, stuck between wanting nothing to change but knowing that there is more out there. Hopefully we get to see Ariana do another contemporary so she can really wow us.

Charity and Artem: Charity closed out the show with a waltz to "Part of Your World," paying tribute to this summer's remake of The Little Mermaid. She talked about how it felt to see a Disney princess who looked like herself and how she hopes to inspire girls who look like her too. And she continues to be technically proficient but she's still not topping the leaderboard. I still think her lack of emotional connection to the songs is what is holding her back. "Part of Your World" is an "I Want" song but Charity danced it with the biggest smile on her face the entire time. I think if she had played it more wistfully, it would've really elevated her routine and she could've placed higher.

Jason and Daniella: I loved Jason's foxtrot to "A Whole New World" from Aladdin. I'm not sure why it didn't get scored higher. I guess the judges might now expect more from him. Or I wonder if they saw something through the fog on the dance floor that we couldn't at home. But I think if he continues the way he's going, he's a lock for the finals - barring any surprise eliminations.

Lele and Brandon: I'm not sure why I didn't like this routine as much as I've liked Lele's other routines. She seemed to handle the rumba to "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" from The Lion King well enough. But it lacked something. Maybe it was a spark? Maybe Brandon played it too sweet that it lost the sultry? I don't know but it was something.

Harry and Rylee: There was some buzz that Rylee had stolen big sister Lindsay's choreography because Lindsay danced the quickstep to Toy Story's "You Got a Friend in Me" with partner Sean Spicer. So I watched Harry's and Sean's routines back-to-back and while there is one sequence that looks lifted from Lindsay's routine, they are still different enough to consider it an homage than outright copying. Though maybe the producers should've given them a different song and/or dance style. Either way, Harry did handle the quickstep well enough and I would say he was better than Sean - Rylee added some more complicated moves that he pulled off well. Harry may end up being this season's dark horse - we're just going to have to see.

Mira and Gleb: Mira danced a waltz to "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" from Cinderella and it was gorgeous. She finally let herself be lost in the dance and the music, which I think really helped her. Again, like most creatives, she is likely her own worst enemy. Once she stops standing in her own way, she'll really start to soar.

Mauricio and Emma: Mauricio opened Disney night with a paso doble to the "Sorcerer's Apprentice" sequence from Fantasia. With Emma dressed as a broom, they danced across the floor with ease. The paso doble isn't an easy dance but he did well with it. Was it at the same level as Xochitl's? Of course not. But it held a charm all its own. And it's clear that Mauricio has fan support so I think he'll have a few more chances to continue to improve.

Alyson and Sasha: Alyson danced a jazz routine to "Be Our Guest" from Beauty and the Beast, though she was honoring the Broadway version and the start of Disney on Broadway. It was a nice routine but I feel it could've popped more. The judges gave her props for dancing with her hair done up to mimic Lumiere's top candle but I wonder if her performance would've been better if she didn't have to worry about it.

Barry and Peta: Barry talked about working with Bob Freakin' Fosse in the Broadway production of Pippin, so Peta hoped it would give him a leg up in their jazz routine to "He's a Tramp" from Lady and the Tramp. And it seemed to be going well until a trick went wrong. At first, I couldn't tell who messed up - Barry or Peta - in their lift but it seems it was Barry. That through them off but he seemed to catch up, though a little too late. But he's still fun to watch and hopefully the audience keeps him around a little longer despite sending him to the bottom three this time.

So that was Disney Night! Break out the tissues because the next show is Most Memorable Year night, which always promises to be a tearjerker. The show will also have a special tribute to Len Goodman as the current pros will be joined by past pros to perform a Viennese waltz to "Moon River" in his honor. For a moment, I worried that by "past pross" they just meant Julianne and Derek but no, they mean several past pros! Kym, Tony, Anna, Edyta, Karina, Maks, Louis and Mark will be joining in this tribute. So it will be nice to see them again and it see their tribute to Len.

you absentmindedly press the power button on your phone, once again checking for notifications. you’re greeted by celestine’s name, followed by kiki’s, then captain morgan’s rather short but nonetheless, meaningful, message. even kanon’s message appeared not too long ago. “happy birthday to the best legal consultant!” his happy message reads.

despite all the cheerful messages that have popped up anywhere between 12:00AM last night to a few hours ago, you can’t bring yourself to check the message, or even clear them out of your notifications. the stinging ache of the fact that artem had forgotten. 

you swipe up, unlock your phone, and give him a call. it’s 6:00, he should be on his way home since most of your cases are already or almost are on the process of being cleared up. “mc? i’m on my way home, love.” he’s smiling at you, not a single sign of guilt or anger or anything that might make you think it was deliberate. you think that your birthday just slipping his head might actually be worse.

it’s silent for a while, and when he looks at you, his heart feels a pang at your crumbling face. “mc? what’s wrong?”

“do you know why i had a day off today? or did you forget that too?”

silence. 

the calm. 

then followed the storm.

“i am so sorry. i’m on my way home. i’ll take you out tonight, alright? i’m so sorry, mc. a client called and i’ve been driving back and forth from the firm to wherever and-, i am so sorry.”

you nod because you’re not sure he'll even understand what you’d say between your teary babbling and muffled sniffles.

“i’ll be home soon. i love you, ok? and happy birthday, love.”

then followed a night of good food, good company, and heartfelt apologies.

“marius,” you hiss under your breath, “where are you?”

“no need to sound so mad, jiejie! i’m just finishing up here, i’ll be home soon.”

“home? marius-,” you take a sharp breath, “marius, what do you mean you’ll be home soon?”

you hang up. you’re in a dress HE got for you, sitting on a table HE reserved, and all you wanted was for him to show up. so much for “i’ll make this the perfect day”.

but if there’s one thing you know, you’re not going to let that ruin this moment. if he forgets, that doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy your day. you order and eat. because hell, nothing was going to stop you from claiming what was rightfully yours. a good fucking dinner, even if it was without your good fucking boyfriend.

you storm in your shared home, marius jumping from his seat on the couch. “are you mad?”

“check the date today, marius.”

maybe he just didn’t feel like it, or maybe it was the unbridled rage in your voice but he does as you say without any further questions. he visibly pales, “oh.”

“yeah. oh.”

“something came up, i-”

“don’t even bother marius. it’s my birthday and you’re not ruining this for me twice.”

“mc, i’m so sorry.”

“let’s talk tomorrow, yeah? good night.” you don’t wait for his response before heading up the stairs.

later that night, you’ll feel the bed behind you sinking as marius gently slips in, and if you hear a few stray “i’m sorry”s and “i love you”s, marius can just wonder why you’re in a substantially better mood in the morning.

My Ramblings on Artem and Rosa’s Dynamic Because Holy Shit I’m Losing It (Part 1 of ?)

okay im running on zero (0) hours of sleep so now im going to ramble about Artem’s birthday card (the 1st one not the 2nd one) because it’s just so fucking good??? I’ll also explain more of the story itself since you need context from his Thin Veil card

but i just NEED to ramble my thoughts out about their dynamic so much

anyhow spoilers for Artem’s 1st birthday card below!!

First context from Thin Veil with quick (very quick) notes

okay

1 ) we find out that Artem is actually a movie critic known as Mockingbird — so if you’ve been confused so far with the current birthday event it’s heavily referencing Thin Veil

2 ) this card introduces the fact that Artem loves movies and heavily enjoys the arts and Rosa goes through the museum of movies with him essentially

3 ) due to his love of movies this is what makes Rosa decide to make a scene of his favorite movie for his birthday

okay now onto the birthday card and ill explain more as we go

first off this is absolutely adorable

it’s just??? so funny how Rosa was like: this was my favorite seat because it’s the perfect length from the board so i can see everything and in case i come in late i can sneak in!

and Artem goes: me too <3 — except for the coming in late part — more like he had to leave early because he had to meet with clients after classes like a NERD (affectionate)

next i love the relationship between Rosa and Artem during this card so much

okay so we all know by now that Rosa and Artem had a slight rough(?) start due to the fact that Artem was her boss so it makes sense why it was slightly awkward in the beginning

like why is my boss trying so hard to get to know me

but it’s also the fact that he’s Artem Wing

easily one of the most well known men and is highly intelligent — capable — can easily destroy your reasonings — with a 99% win rate — any person would be intimidated by this tbh because of the fact he seems untouchable

but he’s not

he’s legit a dork and it’s so funny to me

im going to share some notes i took on Artem months back — and i mean months back — prepare yourself it’s a lot of words

i won’t lie i don’t remember fully writing this i must’ve hit a stroke of genius at 2 am and thought: i need to analyze the FUCK out of Artem Wing Right Now otherwise I’ll lose my mind

reminder: this was months ago and i had a vague idea of where they were going to take Artem’s character — part of it i got from the Lost Gold Event (which was the first event if i remember correctly) and some leaks i managed to see about the future cards

i also got Thin Veil early on as i am Not F2P — but i would say a good chunk of it still holds true

to a certain extent that is

Artem over time has grown to understand himself more and to become more assured with his relationship with Rosa and it helps that she’s actually starting to take in the role of being his partner — im saying this in a platonic sense due to the fact i find it fascinating

she’s seen more and more sides of Artem that no one usually sees — because of this Rosa changes how she acts with him

and the change is pretty big

Rosa before the most recent cards (birthday, electrifying night, the por una cabeza card — you get the gist) wouldn’t have even thought about comforting Artem like this

during the beginning of their partnership you see Rosa struggle with trying to comfort Artem without being Personal

if i had the brain power i would search through when exactly this happens but from my current memory it happens on multiple occasions where Rosa is speechless or gets cut off from comforting

but Rosa has changed immensely since the start

before she seemed pretty unsure of herself — doubting and second guessing her choices and decisions which led to quite a number of moments where she didn’t know what to really do

which makes the change even fucking better

with the recent card stories + chapters of the Main Story we got to watch her become more bold, more comfortable with her ideas and thoughts, less second guessing and more Doing

her growth as a character made me super happy — im like a proud parent watching their child become self assured and independent and going out into the world thriving

due to this change her relationships with The Boys have also changed

the whole teams dynamic is amazing to me and i like to put them under my little spotlight and analyze them or think about them — silly all of em

BUT MOVING ON BEFORE I GO ON A TANGENT ABOUT THE WHOLE TEAMS DYNAMIC WITH EACH OTHER

the point is they’re less awkward and more of: “we’re partners” as they look at each other with gentle smiles and tender eyes and feeling secure with one another and with their own individual feelings

if that makes sense god i hope my rambling is making sense

God he loves her so much it hurts me

like yeah obviously in a romantic way but also in that caring way you look at someone and go: i would do anything for you and I’ll stick by your side through thick and thin

this change in their dynamic was exactly what i was waiting for — because in a way this is Artem figuring out his own emotions yknow

because like i said at the start he relied heavily on the Psychology to Love Book that Celestine gave to him

but now he’s pushing more away from that and it’s becoming just natural to him to act and react this way

to say all of these things without embarrassment and being wholeheartedly into it

and honestly i think that’s fucking beautiful
