I am obsessed with the way in which you draw Dean. You have his features nailed to perfection - somehow your Dean looks even more Dean than Dean in the show, because you exaggerate everything that makes him HIM. It's truly breathtaking <3 Any advice on how to get those features so flawless?
This is so so nice, thank you so much 😭💕💕💕
Honestly Dean is like my go-to thing to draw basically, and has been for many years, like I have to try to refrain myself from just drawing Dean again sometimes. He's like probably half of how I've learned to draw at all. So there's definitely practice there.
That said, I did not immediately have much of answer to this. It's like, his face is just his perfect, beautiful face, and then I try to draw that. 😅
So I drew some Dean to figure out what it is I do, so thanks for the excuse to draw more Dean lol
Extensive answer under the cut
If you're drawing something realistic from reference, for Dean you kind of have two options, you can either get a screencap that's closer up so you can see details better, but the top of his head is cut off, or you can get one where you can see less details but his whole torso is in frame. It can be weirdly difficult to guess at where the top of his head is sometimes, and you don't need details to capture a likeness, I think it was Sargent that said that the shape of the head is actually the most important aspect in capturing a likeness, so it's something to keep in mind. On the other hand, if you want to look at his pretty eyelashes while you draw him, you might want something closer up. (An understandable impulse).
Another thing is just to look for a reference that you really like, contrasty light and shadow are also great to look for. It's difficult to create a great drawing without them, but also it will illustrate the structure of his head best too. Look for shadow shapes you want to draw. If a reference is too dark (as it often is, because it's supernatural), edit it so you can actually see what you're drawing lmao.
I took a bunch of random screencaps of 11x02-- as random as I could, normally I'd just take screencaps of what I already kind of like, but I tried to just get all of it so you can see what I'm not choosing. (also couldn't help taking some cas ones when the lighting was going really hard)
I love a profile, I love a 3/4 view, I love when his eyes are like half open. His face was kinda giving towards the end of this episode.
Hopefully you can see them well enough. The mass ideas are more important for picking at impactful reference, but ofc I'm also trying to avoid any where he's making a dumb face or it's blurry. Sometimes that's only evident when I open it bigger, but that's okay, we have a bunch to pick from.
a. This one is one I picked out because it's an interesting angle, and I'd definitely do a little study of it, but because the lighting is so soft, it probably wouldn't be super interesting.
b. I like this one, the face he's making is hilarious, and I like the rhythm of his hand, but if I were to draw it, I might draw a fourth finger, otherwise it might look strange. So keep that in mind too, if it looks odd in the reference, it will look odd in the drawing, so unless you're confident that you can effectively change it, pick a different reference or find a second reference to help you change it.
c. This lighting's more dynamic, and I like his expression.
d. Would be hard to pick between these. This one's 3/4 and has a nice eyelash shadow, and I love the shape of his eye when it's downturned.
e. Shoutout to the shape of Jensen's brow when he looks down gotta be one of my favorite genders. + subtle Rembrandt lighting. Lovely.
f. This one is so good. Overhead lighting getting a shadow from his ear in a sideview, defining the jaw in an interesting way. Great expression. It's a bit strange, the way he's looking to the side, so it might be hard to draw convincingly, but would be worth it if I could do it. The shadow from the hair defining the shape of the brow. The light on the cheek defining the slight eyebag. The reflected light under the eye, the light landing on the nose. Would probably change the hair a bit because it looks a bit odd at this angle in this lighting, and if drawn like this it would probably look at bit block-like.
g. More rembrandt lighting. Shoutout to the shadow that this upper lip casts on his lower lip. Shoutout to the shadow his lower lip casts on his chin. Shoutout to the line of light defining his neck. Shoutout to the shape of his brow and forehead.
h. The rhythms here are chefs kiss-- the shadow line diagonal from the corner of his hairline to the corner of his brow echoed by the shadow line diagonal of his cheekbone, then that second line following through to the line of light on his neck that curves the other way.
i. This one's kinda boring wrt lighting, but it's an interesting enough angle to do a study of.
I'm going with screencap c because it's gonna work well to effectively illustrate the basic structure of how I construct his features. It's not directly straight-on, so the form isn't lost, but it's straight enough on to properly show our proportions.
For supplies here, I'm just using a soft charcoal pencil, I just use the kinda cheap ones (currently Markart) cause I actually like them better than General's. And it's on smooth newsprint. I just get it in a big thing of 500 sheets. Not archival but it's a cheap thing that's incredibly enjoyable to draw on. Pink Papermate eraser and a kneaded eraser. The pen I use at one point for some reason is a red Pentel RSVP ballpoint I think, although I actually prefer a Bic.
1. So first thing I block in that main shape, in this case, his head and shoulders. I also have to draw in the hairline at the same time, cause I can't figure it out otherwise. He's got kind of pointy ears. The collar of his jacket often comes up pretty high on the back of his neck. He's got a distinctive hairline that I think can go a long way to showing it's Dean, it's worth taking note of. It swoops to our left, and then the corner (I guess?) of his hairline will line up with the corner/arch of his brow. And don't draw the hairline as an unbroken line, but several lines with some room to breathe. His shoulders are pretty straight and broad, but about three heads across which is pretty normal.
2. Next what I think about is the shape of the eyesockets and the line of the brow. This bit will go a ways for conveying Dean's expression, because he has a wide range from light and happy to horribly scowly that's in the brows. You don't have to define the exact line of the brow at this moment, blocking in the general line is fine just to have an idea of where it lands. You can go back later and refine it. I also find where the bottom lid lands. In my brain it makes a shape like what I've drawn. I might not draw it just like this, but even if I don't, this is the shape I'm thinking about. The line from the end of his eyebrow to his bottom lid is a fave, sometimes you can see it on him, especially at an angle, and it's real pretty.
3. Next I find where the bottom of his nose lands, it's about double the length of the eyesocket. And the line under his bottom lip, about halfway between his nose and the bottom of his chin. These measurements are pretty average measurements for a face. I didn't give myself enough room for his chin initially, so I moved it down to fix it. Also adjusted his face very slightly wider on the right side, cause it's looking a bit narrow.
4. I added some of our shadow shapes. This is where finding a reference with well-defined shadows will be very helpful. And I sketched in the clothes cause why not. The clothes don't have to be perfect, who cares, Dean's collar is not our point of interest lol. The shadow on the neck will probably be slightly curved because of the roundness of the neck. If it's not, you might want to make it curve slightly anyway just to help define the form. I blocked in where the eyes are.
eyes: For Jensen's lovely eyes, they have a specific shape that is so nice to draw, especially at certain and angles and with certain expressions. But basically the top lid is more angular and can be almost boxed off at the end, and the line from the corner of the eye to the lashes is an s-curve that's higher in the middle. Again, not unusual features in drawing a face, but such pretty examples. The shadow that his lower lid casts (or his makeup idk?) is often dark enough to look vaguely like eyeliner. Jensen's lower eyelids, an underrated part of Jensen. His eyebrows are thicker in the middle and sparser on the ends.
5. Next I found the corners of the lips. This is an important aspect in the way I draw mouths. Sometimes I just draw them with dots where the corners of the lips are, a curve where the lips part in the middle, a shadow under the bottom lip, and the curve of the cupid's bow. (This is seen below in 6) I think I also adjusted the bottom lip shadow here. Straight-on, the middle of his lips is slightly higher than the corners, but of course, this will change when not straight-on, depending on if we're looking up or down at his mouth. I also sketched in the nose shape. The ridge of his nose has a nice subtle bump, and then the ball of his nose is very slightly squared off I think, from a front-facing perspective, I feel like. And I drew in his slightly drawn brows. Just pay attention to the angles in your reference, because the expression, the perspective and the angle of the head can impact it. But of course generally, drawn down in the middle, furrowed = scowly; drawn up, unfurrowed = happy.
nose: I prefer drawing his nose in profile. And who wouldn't, look at it! The slight curve of the bridge and then the ball of the nose. I will exaggerate this a little sometimes, just because it's fun and I like it. I couldn't find a reference, but from below, you can see the shape of the bottom of his nose, it dips in the middle a bit more than average. Drawing the bottom of the nose is often a delicate balance between shadow and reflected light. I love keeping it light, save for the nostrils, but then the shadow under the nose can be important too. Sometimes it's just a stylistic choice. Note that there's a plane change between the side of the nose and the cheek. (I think I drew his nose too upturned here, but the general idea is still there)
6/mouth: In drawing the mouth, the top line of the upper lip looks more rectangular at the ends, increasingly so as it turns away from us, and much less so as it turns towards us. Of course, he has a full upper lip that you can shade as you like. I try to keep it distinct from the shadow of the line of the mouth, and a reflected light on the top lip can be good here too. For the bottom lip, it's always nice to give is some shine with a hard-edge highlight. For the cupid's bow, I try to leave a light between the upper lip and the shadow in the cupid's bow. For some reason I drew the shadow backwards here, but I think it looks fine.
7/ears: I started to shade it, and then I remembered that he has ears. There's a simplified way I draw ears that I like. It's not entirely accurate, because the two shadows at the top are actually usually connected, but I find it a bit distracting that way sometimes, so this is more subtle I guess. In profile, I don't really have a method of drawing it, I just draw whatever the reference gives me or bs it with a similar version of this, depending.
8/hair: My method for drawing his hair is 1) suffer 2) hope and pray. I like to leave a rim light-type deal between the contour/outliine of the hair and the rest of the hair, I feel like it helps define it a bit more. The direction of his hair, and thus the direction of my lines is something like this.
9. And then I more or less just shaded. When shading, it's always good to follow the direction of the plane, and I also alternatively like to shade in the direction that the light is falling to reinforce that gesture, but when I shade a face, I try to shade in the opposite direction of where wrinkles would go, if that makes sense, mostly up and down I guess. This is of course on a case by case basis, like a lot of times, I'll do the forehead horizontally anyway, but it's especially touchy around where the laugh lines of the mouth would be and the neck. And on soft plane changes (and softish hard plane changes), I often shade at a different angle to the main shadow. Shading direction can also delineate different areas of similar tones, like I did with the jacket and the side of the nose. I like to give Dean his eyelash shadow, because he deserves it. I also drew in the eyes, of course. I think I actually tend to shade them backwards, and the light would fall in the opposite direction, so when lit from the right, the right side would be darker, but I just don't draw it that way idk maybe I should.
And there he is, that's our guy!
Normally when I'm drawing, I'm definitely a bit more all over the place, and don't necessarily do things in perfect order. And it's good to move around. I'm probably not going to be shading things before noting where all the features are going to land, but I often am shading something before I've drawn everything. Or end up drawing one eye and then maybe do part of the other and then move to do part of the nose and then sketch in an ear and then maybe notice something's off somewhere and adjust that, etc. Just go with it, have fun, he's got a fun face to draw! 💗

hbowar ask game is sooooo good my girl. hard to narrow it down but let's go with b, d, f, i, m, o, w!!
thank you bestieeee it nearly killed me <3 <3
hbo war ask game
b. between all four shows, which one do you think did the best job of creating a storyline?
the pacific all the way. three intersecting stories, all individually devastating, all with wonderful character work. MWAH
d. what was a character arc in any of the shows that left you unsatisfied?
i said harry crosby here, but i also feel like the tuskegee airmen were Greatly Wronged in the sense that they just sort of. vibed. after their initial ep. which i get that the miniseries wasn't about them but Still. it made me sad
f. rank all four shows in order of favorite to least and explain why.
1 - the pacific: personal connections to the marine corps as well as robert leckie as well as the Actual And Realistic showing of war is just. so good. i hate media that begins to drift into not showing the Horrific sides of war and i feel the pacific is able to negate this the least. also with the old breed my beloved
2 - band of brothers: good ol' classic!! the besties the bros. do i even need to go into depth with this one.
3 - generation kill: the only reason this one isn't higher is because of Personal Connections that make it a really hard rewatch lol. but as with my reasoning with the pacific, the same applies here
4 - masters of the air: though parts of the series were still really good and well thought out, overall i felt the show tended to be more rushed and struggle more with characterization (through no fault of their own, due to the episode cut and struggles of covid filming) which led to it being my least favorite
i. tag some of your closest mutuals and choose a show portrayal from any of the miniseries' that reminds you of them.
and here we go to the read more, because this shit gonna get LONG.
~ @disastrouscanasta - arthur my partner in luztoye yapping crimes truly. you have luz energy and i say this NOT as a luztoye nor luz expert but based on the simple mathematic equation of a) my Favorite People b) Film Intersections and c) wonderful understanding of joe toye. thank you for your time
~ @ep6bastogne - bel i love you SO dearly and that is why i crown you leckie. YES web vibes also but i think that it's important to reflect upon the motivations of these men as writers and when i say the leckie energy differs GREATLY from the web energy and That Is What You Possess i mean it 100000%
~ @ewipandora - ewi my beloved ewi another partner in luztoye yapping crimes. among other crimes. i name you a delightful cross between luz and perconte, based on the simple and true and beloved fact of Bestie Behavior honestly <3
~ @gorgeousundertow - although we have not known each other for Long nikki i feel it important to acknowledge now that you are a bit like my guide. for i have seen the ever after light. much like i have been cured of a temporary blindness. much like dick winters can also do
~ @lamialamia - the strangest blend of ray person and doc bryan i have literally ever met. linh you go from ray levels of slapstick insanity to severe solemnity in like 2 seconds. and truly. iconique
~ @youcalledmebabe - gigi truly you have webster energy to me. those Web Vibes. WeVibes. genuinely though do you think webster would watch grey's anatomy
m. what do you think is the best quote of each show?
answered here <33
o. say something nice about a ship that you don't understand.
answered here <33
w. what's an hbo war url that you like/would change to? if you have an hbo war url, why did you choose it?
i said it in another ask but i will SAY IT AGAIN. boyetoye is a fucking hilarious url

Welcome to Wonderful World of Darklords! In this episode, we're taking a look at a deeply flawed Disney movie whose numerous defects include an underdeveloped villain, an underdeveloped setting, and underdeveloped potential for some light existential horror. Luckily, our raison d'etre is developing villains, settings, and heavy existential horror, so we're here to extract the most wondrous, beautiful parts of this movie and help them come to fruition. Topics discussed include:
How to represent removing and/or granting a wish with the mechanics of D&D, other than "I guess Magnifico's giving that one woman a Flying speed;"
Some AU timeline shenanigans so you can have a fully evil, post-Act of Ultimate Darkness Magnifico who retains his Act One subtlety;
The genre that best matches the plot and themes of Wish, which was a terrible fit for "Disney fairy tale pastiche" but a beautiful fit for a Ravenloft domain;
Ideas for working in the evil power couple version of Magnifico and Amaya from the concept art;
and more!

BPAT: breathing pattern assessment tool
COPD: chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
DB: dysfunctional breathing
HVS: hyperventilation syndrome
POTS: postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome
Article summary
Abstract
Introduction
POTS is a chronic syndrome with complex symptoms of orthostatic intolerance. It is defined as an increase in heart rate of ≥ 30bpm in adults (≥40 bpm in children) within 10 minutes of standing with no orthostatic drop in blood pressure.
POTS is more common in women. Symptoms can be debilitating (impairment comparable to congestive heart failure and COPD) and include palpitations, light headedness/syncope, chest discomfort, breathlessness, neuropathic pain, chronic fatigue, poor sleep efficience, gastrointestinal symptoms, syncope, cognitive slowing, and psychological distress.
Breathlessness is a common symptom in POTS. Breathlessness is often attributed to changes in breathing pattern, frequency, and/or quality occuring alongside cardiac symptoms. Breathlessness can be episodic, triggered by physical activity, stressful thoughts and events.
Dysfunctional breathing (DB) is an umbrella term describing breathing disorders where chronic changes in breathing pattern result in breathlessness and other symptoms without respiratory or cardiac disease. The most studied form of DB is hyperventilation syndrome (HVS)
Boulding et al. (2016) suggest classifying dysfunctional breathing into the following: 1) Hyperventilation syndrome (a respiratory pattern associated with symptoms both related to respiratory alkalosis and independent of hypocapnia), 2) Periodic deep sighing (frequent sighing with an irregular breathing pattern), 3) Thoracis dominant breathing (a respiratory pattern occurring separate to somatic disease may be considered dysfunctional and results in dyspnoea), 4) Forced abdominal expiration (inappropriate and excessive use of abdominal muscle contraction to aid expiration), 5) Thoraco-abdominal asynchrony (a respiratory pattern in which there is delay between rib cage and abdominal contraction resulting in ineffective breathing movements)
Patients with POTS often undergo extensive investigations due to the complexity of potential comorbidities but there is no guidance or consensus on the assessment of breathlessness.
Methods
Retrospective study of POTS patients referred to repiratory physiotherapy
Respiratory physiotherapy outpatient's referral criteria: tests performed and identification of DB/HVS are explained
Physiotherapy assessment and outcome measures
A standardised physiotherapy assessment of symptoms was performed on all patients (details provided in the paper)
Physiotherapy intervention:
The physiotherapy intervention was standaradised in terms of education and breathing re-training exercises and was delivered by a consultant physiotherapist of a highly specialised respiratory physiotherapist. Each patient was assessed and treated by the same physiotherapist.
Physiotherapy treatment
The educational component focused on patient's understanding of respiratory physiology and the mind-body link
Breathing re-training intervention involved teaching breathing control (details provided). The breathing retraining exercises were standardised and progressive. All techniques used were standard respiratory physiotherapy techniques commonly applied for acute and chronic respiratory disease. Their use for breathlessness in POTS had no previously been assessed.
Patients were discharged when they were confident to continue the re-training programme independently or if they did not attend for follow-up appointments.
Data analysis: details and figures provided in the paper
Results
Demographic information is given in Table 1
Signficiant improvements were observed and are noted in Table 2
Discussion
This paper is the first to characterise DB/HVS and investigate the impact of physiotherapy in POTS. The results indicate that breathing retraining results in significant improvements in breathing pattern and symptom burden thus potentially improving their health related quality of life. Further studies are needed.
Significance of the findings
it is estimated that DB/HVS affects 10% of the general population and is more prevalent in women than men. Patients with POTS who reported respiratory symptoms had DB/HVS. DB/HVS may coexist alongside chronic respiratory diseases and COPDalthough the relationship is unclear.
Although there were statistically significant improvements for the patient cohort as a whole, not all patients had complete resolutions of their DB/HVS and there are several limitations in interpreting the results for this study.
Unexplained breathlessness or 'air hunger' are predominant symptoms of DB/HVS and can result in significant patient morbidity and an array of non-respiratory symptoms which can themselves provoke anxiety/panic and further breathing irregularity
Whilst orthostatic tachycardia is the main symptom of POTS, orthostasis causes a variety of other symptoms through a vaireity of different mechanisms. The paper provides an overview of the hypothesised mechanisms.
Psychological influences (stress, axniety, depression, etc.) are highly prevalent in POTS patients and predispose them to DB/HVS. The impact of this study's intervention could, therefore, be partly related to a change in anxiety thanks to education, greater understanding of DB/HVS, and empowerment.
Proposed improvements for further studies include the inclusion of pre-post PaCO2 measurements, the exclusion of asthma and pulmonary hypertension, analysis of why patients attended appointments (and addressing the issues)
Access to respiratory physiotherapy outpatient services is limited across the NHS and many POTS patients are instead seen by muscluloskeletal physiotherapists due to comorbidities. Increased awareness may improve treatment for these patients
More data is needed to investigate the prevalence of dysfunctional breathing in POTS and how it relateds to other chronic conditions. More detailed investigation and assessment guidelines and techniques are needed.
Limitations
No control data were available
Outcome measures were potentially not sensitive to non-hyperventilatory dysfunctional breathing
Observational nature and small sample size did not allow exploration of the role of confounding variables
A selection bias may have been introduced due to this being a convenience sample
The Nijmegen score used to characterise these patients has not been validated in this patient population. Its limitations highlight the need for a holistic POTS-specific measure.
Physiological outcome measures for the diagnosis of HVS are often limited to specialist services so alternative diagnostic tests are sought. The Breathing Pattern Assessment Tool (BPAT) has demonstrated good sensitivity and specificity for the diagnosis of DB in refractory asthma. Responsiveness of the BPAT to treatment remains to be ascertained.
Measuring Neural Respiratory Drive (NRD) in breathlessness patients with POTS may be advantageous. NRD provides a global measure of breathlessness and a physiological correlate to breathlessness but there is no data on whether NRD is increased in POTS or on NRD pre-post respiratory interventions
Conclusion

Svalbard Melts
The Svalbard archipelago’s ice caps suffered extreme episodes of melting in summer 2024, brought on by exceptionally high air temperatures.
Situated between mainland Norway and the North Pole, Svalbard is one of the fastest-warming places on the planet. Over half of its land area is covered with ice, composing about 6 percent of the planet’s glaciated area outside of Greenland and Antarctica.
In late July and early August 2024, temperatures hovered around 4 degrees Celsius (7 degrees Fahrenheit) above average for this part of the Arctic Circle. The heat took its toll on Svalbard, home to some of Earth’s northernmost glaciers, causing snow and ice to rapidly melt.
The OLI (Operational Land Imager) on Landsat 8 captured these images of Nordaustlandet—the second largest island in the archipelago—on August 9 as water and sediment drained off the coast and into the Arctic Ocean. Sediment is likely causing the striking swirls of color in the water surrounding the island. The melting of seasonal snow and an older, compressed layer of snow called “firn,” left some areas of glacial ice (light blue) bare and exposed in the images.
According to Xavier Fettweis, a climatologist at the University of Liège, Svalbard’s ice caps broke their all-time record for daily surface melt on July 23, 2024. Svalbard shed about 55 millimeters of water equivalent that day, a rate five times larger than normal.
The exceptional melting continued into August, corresponding with a persistent heat dome that baked parts of Scandinavia’s Arctic. In Longyearbyen, Svalbard’s capital on the main island of Spitsbergen, temperatures reached 20.2°C (68°F) on August 11, its highest August temperature on record and about 2.2°C (4°F) above the previous monthly record, according to meteorologist Daan van den Broek.
Svalbard experienced its warmest summer on record in 2023, according to the Copernicus State of the Climate report. The report cited several contributing factors for the warmth, including below-average sea ice cover and above-average sea surface temperatures.

hi there!!! just finished the doc you wrote about the last two eps of f&c and WOW you put everything into so much better words than i ever could have. 1000% agree with everything you said you are SO right and i will be citing this for anyone who i talk to about it... it's really comprehensive on all the issues i saw with it. you did a really awesome job on it and i really appreciate your work for it! i wanted to show my love for it so i doodled this betty from memory for you :-D hope you have a great day!
(an aside i'd like to mention that you might've covered and i just don't remember is... i wish the episode covered more on the issues with his identity as compared to ice king or the lack thereof. he displayed it a lot in episode 2 and a bit in episode 4, at least to me - sort of related to your points on the conclusion not showing its effect on simon's issues with depression, i'm really sad to see that part of his arc get very little light, it was all just so pushed aside in those eps. MAYBE that specific aspect of the identity stuff is me projecting a little but oh well! i will simply imagine an ending that does conclude it properly ehehe)
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH !!! i love this doodle & will cherish it forever w all my heart 🥺❤️ (and download it to my phone - the ultimate honor, as i have almost no space left in my gallery rn lmaoo) & yeah the essay didn't rlly discuss it but i TOTALLY agree! i was also disappointed they didn't really explore simon's identity issues much (if at all - but like, u can really stretch if u want 2 pretwnd they did lmao) @ the end despite it being such an important part of his character and also bettys, so they could have easily worked it into a betty & simon focoused ending & especially after how it was emphasized earlier on in the series! i honestly have a lot of complaints abt the way they handled simons character specifically that i didn't discuss in the essay bc it was already long enough & i wanted to keep it mostly focused on how the show messed up in regards to how betty & simon’s narratives intertwine together ! huge agree though - f&c really dropped the ball with the way they handled his character @ the end
#text#fionna and cake spoilers#my personal thing i wish they adressed more bc they heavily set up earlier. but it isnt as weird of a thing 4 them to ignore#is the addiction element!!! simon is so important to me as a representation of addiction!!!#the 2nd episode was sooo Longtime Sober Addict yknow... and the 4th episode wss so Relapse#wish theyd actually continued that narrative . sigh#it is. weirder of them to ignore the identity element though i feel.#bc like.... this is postcanon simon. i want to hear abt his struggles with his identity

Yingzi Ren facts: 1) Ren died like 6 times and was immortal (Due to the shadow puppet had made ren consumed it and ren became that shadow and the shadow puppet was an escaped creation by the one and only six-eared macaque which macaque didn't know about it before finding out and meeting with ren and the shadow puppet.)
a) ren's 1st death was being killed by some demons who we're assigned to kill ren and his brothers (which are MK and Reiki). b) Ren's 2nd death was being killed by some half zombified bandits but ren came back alive in their shadows to finish them off. c) Ren's 3rd death was suicide well not exactly suicide but ren was only testing his abilities to his new found immortality which resolves being back alive from a random shadey place after was returned back to the shadow realm. d) Ren's 4th death was being killed by a celestial warrior who thinks he was an enemy but ren ressurrected from the dead. The celestial warrior was very shock but in the end the warrior understood ren's past and became friends with him. e) Ren's 5th death but before ren died he finally met macaque before macaque had died by sun wukong. Macaque finds ren interesting and familiar but just randomly having ren a conversation even offered him to train ren which the results for ren to agree macaque's offer and that turned ren to be macaque's successor but when macaque experienced ren's death. You could say macaque was mixed with shock, fear, sadness in his face making macaque to mourn over to ren's death because macaque was too attached with ren so much just also because ren is like a son to him. Their bond are very strong than how macaque bond with sun wukong, this made macaque also took a certain item from ren to always remember ren. f) Ren's 6th death was by ren's corruption and dark chi he had recieved from the necklace which gave him the results of being controlled by the corruption but ren didn't want it to happen while he already just found his 2 young brothers. So, he decided that he'd killed himself WITH the corruption and sealed himself in his oblivion with the corruption as well until the time comes that he was saved by MK and Reiki from his death sleep.
2) When ren came back from his 6th death also being saved by MK and Reiki then ALSO met macaque during the ' Shadow's play ' episode. Macaque did find familiarities to ren while having a battle but also shocked when ren controlled shadow and light chi including the corrupted and the dark chi, mostly shocked of ren controlling shadow chi since macaque thought he is the only one after ren died. So, that makes macaque very interested and impressed. 3) Ren's disguied name was just being called 'Shadow' but MK and Reiki tends to call ren 'Big bro' or 'Cool bro' but mostly 'Gēgē' 4) Ren is the son of the GOD OF CREATION ( Also no birth mother by the way which ren jokingly finds himself motherless also doesn't care about having a mom since he knows his dad's past with his ex lover ) 5) Ren is like deadpool so why not? Cuz he's body parts gets sliced and ripped off but no problem it regenerates. 6) Also can trick his enemies easily but sometimes he can manipulate since he is not like how his mentor (which was macaque) do.
Now for the fun facts :
1) Acts like sans because of the puns and almost being lazy 2) Makes flavored cigarettes that doesn't damage your lungs but it doesn't mean all people liked it cuz they'll just coughed up with colored smokes since it doesn't adds up good to their body cuz they are not just born to do it. 3) Being a responsible big brother he is. 4) Lol you could say he'd never dies by any murdering or something could kill him. He'd still get back alive like a deadpool he is.
UPDATE SINCE 8/8/23
Yingzi ren lost two of his other 2 brothers who we're named ' Yang ' and ' Xiang '. They we're the older ones and Xian died for being overpowered to save the world from corruptions while Yang had transfer someone's illness to himself and that illness couldn't be cured which was called heart cancer. (Sadly, Yang and Xiang wasn't immortal yet.) So, you could say yingzi ren had MK and Reiki on purpose since MK and Reiki are the reflection of Yang and Xiang or being as their reincarnation. Yingzi ren's name means ' man of shadow ' Yingzi ren's (favorite) hobby was only just strolling around the city or other places. (psst, other worlds too!) Yingzi ren used to have white hair and red eyes. But, he changed it because people in his time thought his family is a bunch of rabbits (or that ren is racist) which made ren uncomfortable and a bit annoyed. Yingzi ren is officially 24 years old! Rarely can show his anger while his cries and sadness can be mostly showed when his dad and his deceased brothers we're back (spoilers!) or if MK and Reiki are in danger and seriously hurt. Yingzi ren most likely to tease or sometimes brag his siblings that he is the tallest one among of them. Yingzi ren finds pigsy as his godfather and finds tang as his uncle. Yingzi ren is also very fond with Chang'e the goddess of the moon and Sun wukong (since MK introduce yingzi ren to sun wukong about yingzi ren as his oldest brother which wukong finds yingzi ren a good ally and a good person. But, he didn't know he was macaque's successor, yet.) Yingzi ren's height is around ' 187 cm / 6'2 ' ( UPCOMING CHARACTER: Reiki [ Will be out tomorrow 6AM] )

Get ready because today I have something beefy for you all- it’s an episode -to- episode NekoRenge comparison ! I put this together months ago when rewatching the series. The goal of this was taking note of interesting parallels. Enjoy!
Important note: by “Scene A, Scene B”, i was mainly just counting the scenes in which the characters in question appeared (Renge, Nekozawa). There are parts of the episodes that are not present in these breakdowns because they do not showcase the characters or because they do not offer the parallel information I was seeking out. Hope this makes sense!
EP 4 ATTACK OF THE LADY MANAGER
Scene A (Renge)
We first see her shrouded in darkness with only the light of her screens. Clearly comfortable with the dark, maybe even used to it.
Comfortable being alone, stays in her room in the dark, door closed, playing games.
Is not entirely a loud and dramatic person as seen by her interactions in this first scene.
Is interested in a “prince charming” (but NOT a “phony” tamaki type [see later])
Scene B (Renge)
Has a deep despise for ingenuine or “phony” people, especially in regards to “princely” characters. (Take a drink whenever you read ‘prince’ or ‘princely’ in this breakdown lol)
Wants someone who does not “spread their love around so easily”- not a naturally flirty type
Against narcissists and commoners (im compiling all related information so i guess i’ll mention it)
Again, shes looking for her “one and only prince charming”…
Scene C (Renge)
Wants a “love at first sight”
Her favorite dating sim character adores flowers when he thinks no one else is looking and (“sweet”ly) reaches out to a (poor little) injured kitten (remember this)
Wants a “gentleman who’s kind to everyone but doesnt ask for anything in return” and “likes solitude but in fact sometimes gets lonely”
Likes that kyoya manages their club and wants to help advertise at first
Scene D (Renge)
Finds it essential that the hosts all have a “dark” side otherwise they are “lukewarm” and annoy her
“Girls” are vulnerable to “handsome young men that are troubled”
When Tamaki poses dramatically she really loves it (“would be even more effective if you were standing in the rain!)
Scene E (Renge)
Appreciates haruhi stepping in the way and protecting her
Scene F (Renge)
“It was so chivalrous of you to risk your life to protect me” (i wonder if we will see anyone else perform any self-sacrificial moves to protect someone they love)
EP 11 BIG BROTHER IS A PRINCE
Scene A (Kirimi)
Nekozawa is immediately established as a “strong, handsome prince”, chivalrous, who would “defeat a monster”.
Scene B (Nekozawa)
Nekozawa emerges dramatically and inexplicably from nowhere in Music Room 3
Caring towards his sister “all i want is for my sister to be happy. Make sure she gets the love she deserves!”, always trying to reach out to her
Evil iconic laughter
Loves cats!
Unintentionally scares people away (i.e. kirimi)
Genuine and in touch with his emotions
CONSTANT mentions of nekozawa as a “prince”
Scene A (Renge)
Renge emerges dramatically and inexplicably from nowhere in Music Room 3
Evil iconic laughter
Scares people upon arrival
Scene B (Nekozawa and Renge)
Dramatic poses
Somehow everyone’s a phony but when she starts feeding Nekozawa scripts its okay (i know she scripts the hosts too but i just think her hypocrisy is funny)
They both have their strong passions tbh
The lines she is giving him are as mentioned questionable for his sister. Then who are they for? Did she get carried away? At the bare minimum, they relate back to her obsessive gaming but even still in that case there is the implication that it would or could be lines that she likes?
He cowers and just apologizes when she goes medusa mode
Coaching him on being “princely”…
“Its okay to have a dark side, “some girls” like that”. “Cute, brooding male characters always go over well” This by itself but also the illustrations portray a brunette with a big hair bow fawning over the nekozawa stand-in (not to mention the parallels to uki doki memorial with the cat image AND the way shes reacted to the dark sides of the host club boys in ep 4)
She’s the only person who he’s shown this side when up against and seems intimidated by
Shes encouraging him…….. in her own way..
“Even Edgar was able to face the cross once he built up his courage” “but i thought you rejected the occult” “occult fiction is good, occult fashion is not” COME ON. literally. They have common interests. This is a slam dunk for me
“Youre the one who’s always wearing weird cosplay” -hikaru (direct comparison between her cosplays and his outfits of choice. IM not even having to make these comparisons the show is doing it for me)
Seems to already be romanticizing him in some regard if the “eyes of your heart” is any indication (albeit with some aggression because she’s Renge)
Shots where the two are positioned with a chalkboard heart between them (worth at least mentioning!)
She silently watches and encourages him, seems a little proud of or amazed by his bravery?
Her eyes are shining with what seems to be actual pride when he shines the flashlight
He isnt afraid to be genuine, and cares passionately
Leaps out the window to save his sister even forgetting his cloak
Renge’s pleased (she’s one of the most genuinely excited of the group to see him conquer his fear and come to his sister’s rescue- twins are sarcastic)
Scene C (Kirimi)
“I have a princely big brother who will fight to protect me, even if it means dashing out into the sunlight, the one thing he fears most of all.”
Ok, I think I’ve color coded most of the key parallel stuff! Some of this… reaches more than others, but I think when you start looking at it this way it looks more and more solid. I was going to go through the whole series episode by episode with this sort of analysis in regards to the ship but honestly these are some of the most key episodes. I think if i were to look into any others, my goals would be to look into Haruhi in Wonderland and Until the Day it Becomes a Pumpkin, because off the top of my head those are the last ones with any interactions.
If you’re reading this, thank you for reading!! I hope it was at the very least entertaining and perhaps even eye-opening! I’ve loved the response to my fanart, with some people realizing the potential of the ship for the first time! So heartwarming to hear it. Have a great day!

I know that if I start studying for Latin earlier in the week I would do better but we just move so fast that by the time I've learned something we've moved on. Today our quiz was on a video she emailed us on Wednesday night. I'm pretty sure I made a B but there's just no time to study for something like that that quickly.
Looking forward to the weekend but not looking forward to exams next week.

Day 16/100
Made it to the coffee shop! I got a cold brew and a yogurt parfait and then got in over two hours of accounting work! After the coffee shop, I went and ran errands, watched two episodes of Russian Doll and two episodes of Criminal Minds, and ended the day by going to my college's football game. Sadly we lost by three but I enjoyed watching the game and getting to hang out with my friends :)

I don't know if it's because I had two coffees today or if it's because I'm sick but I have been so dizzy all day. I hope I'm over this sickness soon. The good news is that my throat no longer hurts!!
Today I had social psychology and advanced accounting. In accounting I got my exam from last week back and ended up making a 102! It was the 2nd highest score in the class so I'm pretty darn happy about that. Tomorrow I have a Latin exam and so I went to a Latin study session and then obsessively wrote every possible way to write a noun or a verb over and over again for two hours in the hopes of having it memorized by tomorrow. Luckily going to the study session means I'll get five bonus points on the exam which gives me some wiggle room to make mistakes.
Here's another shot of my school's library. I love taking pictures of the library especially since my room and desk are a mess and I don't have the motivation to clean it lol. Maybe later this week I'll get it cleaned up. Hope everyone is having a good week so far!!

Back in the library! I could not focus or stay awake while trying to study for my developmental psych exam tomorrow. So I called it quits after about an hour and decided I’d go to bed early and wake up early tomorrow. But we’ll see if that actually happens haha.
It’s officially cold. Last week we had highs of 85°F/29°C and now it’s 33°F/0°C and that’s just too drastically different. To the library tonight I wore sweat pants over my leggings as well as a tee shirt, a sweat shirt, and a jacket. If I had a hat I’d put that on too but alas. At least I’ll get to wear a sweater tomorrow!
Good luck to everyone this upcoming week :)

Another productive day! I went to the gym this morning for a light workout, went to both my classes, studied in the campus library for almost two hours, and then went to dinner with friends. I'm currently watching an episode of "The Sandman" and then it'll be back to studying. So overall, a very pleasant day!

TV Show Alphabet Challenge
Doing a watch/rewatch of a bunch of shows lately and going in alphabetical order. Here’s what I’ve gotten through so far and my rating out of 10 (10 being the best thing ever).
#: 30 Rock season 1: first time I’d ever seen 30 Rock and I knew it was popular so I should have realized how funny it would be, but it really was SO FUNNY. Even so I don’t feel compelled to watch season 2 at this point. I could be convinced though. Rating: 7.5
A: Abbott Elementary season 1: first time watching, super funny and cute. Since it’s somewhat new it felt more modern that 30 Rock and as a result I liked it a bit more. I will watch season 2 when I loop back around. Rating: 8
B: Bridgerton season 3: I had seen the first 2 seasons and loved them. This one was disappointing and I hate that Netflix breaks up seasons now instead of releasing all at once and the year to two years between seasons is also annoying and loses my interest. Rating: 6
C: Curb Your Enthusiasm season 1: OMG I was not prepared for how funny this was. It was also WAY too real and a little inappropriate at times but not necessarily in a bad way (even though it’s like 20 years old). Again, not sure I’d watch season 2 but I think I’m more likely to watch season 2 of curb than 30 rock. Rating: 8
D: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (Netflix): I used to love DCC Making the Team on CMT back in the day. This had a much different feel to it but I loved it just as much. I hope they have a second season on Netflix. Would watch again. Rating: 9
E: I couldn’t find any shows that interested me that started with E! But I added The English Teacher to my list once the first season is over. It looks good. Let me know if you have other recs!
F: Friday Night Lights season 1 (rewatch): I had seen this before but I’m so glad I revisited. One of the best shows of all time, it still holds up. I’m obsessed with Coach and Tami Taylor. I’m mad this show didn’t win alllll the awards. Will happily be watching season 2 when I get back around to this letter! Rating: 10
G: A Good Girls Guide to Murder: This show was short (only 6 episodes) I did not read the book…and I may have suffered for it because I couldn’t figure out the vibes. Is it YA? Horror? Comedy? Quirky? The main character made so many stupid decisions it was annoying and I didn’t get really interested until episode 5. Is there a second season? More murder solving? I don’t think I would watch. Rating: 4
H: let me know your recommendations! I was going to rewatch season 1 of How I Met Your Mother but I just don’t know if I’m ready to dive back into that world again.
Up next: It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia season 1
Send me recommendations if you have them for other shows in the alphabet!

Pediatric Sleep Health: Ensuring Your Child Gets Restful Sleep - A Comprehensive Guide
Ensuring your child gets restful sleep is crucial for their overall health and development. From infancy to adolescence, sleep plays a vital role in physical growth, cognitive function, and emotional well-being. However, many parents struggle to understand and manage their child's sleep patterns. This comprehensive guide aims to provide insights into pediatric sleep health and practical tips to help your child enjoy quality sleep every night.
Understanding Pediatric Sleep Needs
Children's sleep needs vary significantly by age. Newborns may sleep up to 16-17 hours a day, while school-aged children typically require about 9-12 hours of sleep per night. Here's a quick breakdown of recommended sleep durations:
- Newborns (0-3 months): 14-17 hours
- Infants (4-11 months): 12-15 hours
- Toddlers (1-2 years): 11-14 hours
- Preschoolers (3-5 years): 10-13 hours
- School-aged children (6-13 years): 9-11 hours
- Teenagers (14-17 years): 8-10 hours
The Importance of Sleep for Children
Quality sleep is essential for children for several reasons:
1. Physical Growth: Growth hormones are primarily secreted during deep sleep, making adequate sleep crucial for physical development.
2.Brain Development: Sleep supports brain functions such as learning, memory, and emotional regulation.
3. Emotional Health: Lack of sleep can lead to mood swings, irritability, and even behavioral issues.
4. Immune Function:Adequate sleep strengthens the immune system, helping children fight off illnesses more effectively.
Common Pediatric Sleep Issues
Several common sleep issues can affect children, including:
- Night Waking: Frequent awakenings during the night can disrupt sleep patterns.
- Bedwetting:** A common issue for younger children that can affect sleep quality.
- Sleep Apnea: A condition where breathing is interrupted during sleep, often due to enlarged tonsils or adenoids.
- Nightmares and Night Terrors: Disturbing dreams or episodes of intense fear that can wake a child.
- Insomnia:Difficulty falling or staying asleep, which can be due to anxiety, stress, or poor sleep habits.
Creating a Sleep-Friendly Environment
A conducive sleep environment is essential for promoting restful sleep. Here are some tips to create a sleep-friendly bedroom:
1. Comfortable Bedding: Ensure the mattress and pillows are comfortable and suitable for your child's age and size.
2. Temperature Control:Keep the room cool, ideally between 60-67°F (16-19°C).
3. Darkness: Use blackout curtains to block out light, which can interfere with melatonin production.
4. Noise Reduction: Minimize noise with rugs, curtains, or a white noise machine.
5. Electronic-Free Zone: Remove or limit electronic devices in the bedroom, as the blue light from screens can disrupt sleep.
Establishing a Consistent Sleep Routine
A consistent sleep routine helps signal to your child's body that it's time to wind down and prepare for sleep. Here are some steps to establish a bedtime routine:
1. Set a Regular Bedtime: Choose a bedtime that allows for the recommended hours of sleep and stick to it, even on weekends.
2. Wind-Down Activities: Engage in calming activities before bed, such as reading a book, taking a warm bath, or listening to soft music.
3. Limit Screen Time Turn off electronic devices at least an hour before bedtime.
4. Healthy Sleep Associations: Encourage your child to fall asleep on their own, without relying on being rocked or fed to sleep.
Addressing Sleep Issues
If your child continues to have sleep issues despite following a good sleep routine, it may be time to consult a healthcare professional. Pediatricians can help identify underlying causes and suggest appropriate treatments. In Jaipur, parents can visit a reputable pediatrics hospital in Jaipur for expert advice and care. Additionally, Super Multispeciality hospitals in Jaipur offer comprehensive healthcare services that can address various pediatric sleep disorders.
Special Considerations for Different Ages
Different age groups have unique sleep challenges and needs. Here are some considerations for various stages of childhood:
Infants:
- Establishing a sleep schedule can be challenging due to frequent feedings.
- Encourage daytime naps and a consistent bedtime routine.
Toddlers:
- Transitioning from a crib to a bed can be a significant change.
- Address fears of the dark or monsters under the bed with reassurance and comfort.
Preschoolers:
- Nightmares and bedtime resistance are common.
- Maintain a soothing bedtime routine and address any fears calmly.
School-Aged Children:
- Homework and extracurricular activities can interfere with sleep.
- Prioritize a consistent bedtime and limit after-school activities if necessary.
Teenagers:
- Social and academic pressures can lead to irregular sleep patterns.
- Encourage good sleep hygiene practices, such as limiting caffeine intake and creating a relaxing bedtime routine.
Promoting Healthy Sleep Habits
In addition to creating a sleep-friendly environment and establishing a bedtime routine, promoting healthy sleep habits can make a significant difference in your child's sleep quality. Here are some tips:
1. Encourage Physical Activity: Regular exercise during the day can help children fall asleep faster and enjoy deeper sleep.
2. Healthy Diet Avoid heavy meals and sugary snacks close to bedtime. A balanced diet supports overall health and sleep quality.
3. Hydration:Ensure your child stays hydrated, but limit fluid intake close to bedtime to prevent night waking.
4. Stress Management: Teach relaxation techniques such as deep breathing or mindfulness to help your child manage stress and anxiety.

Episode 10 - File 9
NARRATOR: Starting: File 9. Case Number: 874-13-26I. Code Name: Undead.
[pause]
NARRATOR: First off - the lack of creativity of the last few files is weird. The code names of the first several files are different from the sub-classifications but after 874-13-26F, Big Bird, it's been the same. I know this is only the third file like this but that's after six files with actual creativity.
[pause]
NARRATOR: Second, after the last file, I'm not looking forward to this one. A ghost-like creature not being labeled such and now 'undead'. Bad vibes.
[pause]
NARRATOR:
Classification: Unknown - Anomaly Sub-Classification: Undead
Containment Procedures: 874-13-26I are a grouping of reanimated bodies of 874-13-26B and 874-13-26D subjects. They are immediately aggressive to any humanoid figure that comes within sight and seem to have an uncanny ability of knowing when one is in their blind spots. This can be used to lead 874-13-26I subjects into containment cells and transportation boxes.
There are two variants of this subject - "Drowned" and "Average". Unlike the "Undead Ziegegen" variant of 874-13-26E subjects, no formulas work on either variant of 874-13-26I subjects.
The use of lights at and above level four will keep areas of Sector 11-F, Subsector A, clear of 874-13-26I subjects unless researchers are within their line of sight. They are not blinded by such light and it cannot be used as a means of keeping them in place; any metal stronger than copper or gold can be used to transfer subjects without risking researchers or transportation teams and hardwoods are capable of keeping them within a certain area if used as fencing. Materials between such metals and woods are to be tested when possible.
Containment Addendum 874-13-26I-1: Bite guards are to be placed within all subjects. While the bites does not infect the victim, it has been proven nearly fatal due to the germs and bacteria that grow when matter is decaying.
Containment Addendum 874-13-26I-2: All samples gained are to be kept in the researching facilities in Sector 11-F, all subsectors. Additional Note from Observer 7: There's been enough attempts are stealing or selling these samples that the Council of Seven voted to minimize the opportunities granted. All researchers and guards involved with this study must keep in mind that further attempts at such will lead to termination. . Additional Note from Dr. Roberts: Study has shown that it is wholly possible to turn the samples into bioweapons. The decision the Seven to prevent openings of the stupidly greedy was made to prevent that. Stop sending me memos complaining about this.
Containment Addendum 874-13-26I-3: No subject is allowed near 874-13-26D subjects.
Containment Addendum 874-13-26I-4: No subject is allowed near 874-13-26E subjects, especially those of the "Undead Ziegegen" variant.
Containment Addendum 874-13-26I-5: The 874-13-26J subject is the only known subject that 874-13-26I subjects stop moving around. They won't even react aggressively towards researchers if they are around without proper containment. Additional Note from Dr. Roberts: Please stop abusing the subjects being studied within Subsector C. It's disturbing and I will notify the Seven of it if it continues.
Description: Clearance Level: 9 Access to "Drowned" and "Average" physical description.
[pause]
NARRATOR: I was right. Oh fuck, was I right.
[pause]
NARRATOR: The images are interesting? With the two variants of this subject, only thing in common is how gruesome they both look. I'm not even upset at the clearance level issue coming back up, honestly. The images are enough.
[pause]
NARRATOR: I'm not describing what's in the pictures beyond - this is literally zombies. Decay and everything.
[pause]
NARRATOR: …at least it's a longer file? Fuck, end recording.
Feel free to listen through the link above or through Spotify directly - there should be a way to get there somewhere on the page.
