I never thought too much ab Haruka's voice before but tbh now what u described it that way that's just the Official Haruka Voice Take (tm) actually, that is how she sounds now

"I've got nothing better to do, I think she's funny and I want to reinforce her bad habits <3" is so fucking funny and so fucking accurate, this is exactly what is happening in the twins minds actually.

In my notes for their personalities in my notesapp, I just wrote "They're genuinley just the fucking WORST to deal with. Their "I'm going to cause problems on purpose" dials got cranked up to 10 and got stuck that way at birth" which I think sums it up nicely.

I've been writing silly small stuff for them lately to hoard jealously in my notesapp and I think Haru has a genuine mean streak while Hiro is a lot more bark than bite— but also Haru looks and talks a bit gentler while Hiro acts and sounds rougher, so they often give off the opposite impressions. Don't worry Hiro, your brother will do what you aren't strong enough to (crime)

There's all sorts of fun layers to it too, like, considering they're from a clan who tries to shelter it's children— but they're also from the infamously bloody warring states period, who had to bring up their children much quicker and rougher than modern. I think Hiro would have made a wonderful modern day shinobi while Haru is a good example of the inherent violence of the warring states, just buried under good cheer and playfulness. Mmmm phycology,,,

I love their little trio with Shiruka, they are besties and she's also their first real friend their age, while she's kind of but not quite an outcast in her own clan due to her parents poor standing. She's older sibling coded and so tired of their shit but also quietly, perpetually amused by it, which is probably part of why she sticks around. That, plus their clear undying loyalty towards anything and anyone considered "theirs"— a list she's made it on and does her best to reply in kind

They are holding hands and will continue to hold hands together till they inevitably die at ~19 for the good of the village, yippie !!!

At least they'll get to live on in the memory of Hiname,,

BUT YEAH THEM !!! I love them so much, I had way too much fun thinking ab just the ecosystem for young shinobi in early konoha.

I have so many more thoughts ab it all tbh, theres no doubt tons of things happening as so many different people and clans settle in to a new normal but I ofc have my focus

I think I accidentally created some sort of little mystery/conflict with my silly meme of Shiruka going "he wants to order break into my clan heirs house" while also stating that she and her family aren't currently in good standing with the Nara main family.

I wasn't thinking ab it too hard when I drew it but now I'm sat over here like "girl why are you helping Haru break into your clan heirs home when you're already most likley on their (or at least their parents) shit list?? Who is the clan heir and why does Haru want to break into their house?? What drama is this??"

I'll probably think harder about it later, I feel like there's potential there

I need to stop thinking so hard ab potential early konoha narrative things bc I refuse to be consumed by it and know I very much will give in to The Voices if I continue

That said I'm also enamored with Tetsuo as clan heir (someone get him out of there!!!) He's great at it but also really, really does not want the position.

I think when he was younger and Tobirama was visiting the clan, he point blank begged him to take the position— But Tobirama said no, he's a Senju through and through and he's proud to be second to his Anija. A week later, and Tetsuo officially got the title (and maybe cried about it but only just a little and only on the inside)

(Tetsuo is still nursing a tiny grudge over this, though it's lessened slightly since Sakumo's birth)

POV he's in an especially bitchy mood and Tobirama asks him something and he just kind of grumbles, "oh, I'm sorry, are you my clan heir?"

Queue ??????? from like half of those present

He's so cute tho I think he has my favorite design of all of them. He dresses the fanciest for sure— Haruka totally owns similar things (I think the half and half haori is super cute and I want it to be a clan staple) but only wears it on occasions where she needs to, while he's more traditional/conscious of himself and his position, so he dresses like that all the time. He's probably the guy they send to the capital whenever it's necessary and the clan heads presence isn't needed

Random early konoha oc fun fact no one asked for: I have a vague messy fic idea from months ago now that basically amounts to "the Hatake's die before Madara defects to the village, and Kabuto, in practicing Orochimaru's edo tensei in preparation for the final battle, revives them— then manages to lose them in transport before they wake up. Not knowing any better, they flock to Madara to help in his fight"

I love time travel I love drama I love horrible misunderstandings and family/clan drama !!!!!

!!! early konoha my beloved !!! I have so many thoughts ab it, I want to write a fic that's just silly early Konoha things viewed from the perspective of the less important clan members and their everyday lives. I'm aware the audience for that is incredibly small but I have too much fun just thinking ab it to really care!

Ichigo remains the only naruto oc Ive ever actually written for (in one step three steps), tho Haruka has been mentioned in multiple fics of mine now just bc she fills the role of Tobirama + Hashirama's blood aunt that I needed to be filled in my "Kakashi interacts with Tobirama w the knowledge that they are directly related" fics, of which there are now multiple

but yeah, take some silly art and lore comics !! I had fun while making these and will now probably put all these ocs on a shelf where I will not touch them for some more months

the year passed by quickly, and sanemi found himself facing the start of yet another year as a hashira. he wasn’t sure where all the months had gone, nor what had even occurred this year, but it meant nothing to him, really. it was only another reminder that things hadn’t changed and sanemi was still trudging through the snow for another mission, even after promising he’d kill muzan by now. but, oh well, it didn’t matter.

the demons disintegrated and their blood which had previously drenched the snow had now dissipated into the air. sanemi’s still dripped to the ground, painting the blinding white into a glistening red. he paid no mind to it, ignoring his wounds in favor of sheathing his katana and making his way down the mountain.

the morning air was cold, the sun doing nothing but reflecting light into his eyes, but he didn’t bother buttoning his uniform. adrenaline still coursed through him from the aftermaths of his mission, and for the time being it warmed him up.

he wasn’t sure where he was going yet, as his feet stomped a steady path through the mushy ground. somehow, his legs decided their own route, and he found himself approaching two graves. they didn’t sit in a graveyard, rather, they were by a house—which stood unoccupied and trembling under the weight of the previous night’s snowstorm. sanemi vaguely recognized the place—it was one he’d gone to once before, and then never again. it had been right after becoming a hashira, and when he’d left, he’d turned his back to the graves and never looked back again.

which was why it came as shock to him that his feet had led him here, of all places. he could hardly remember how he’d gotten here, so the fact that his subconscious was so quick to directing him here stunned him. for a long moment, he simply stared at the graves. one of the names he didn’t recognize—besides the last name. but the second one was almost sacred on his lips, and he sunk to his knees before the grave.

he reached out a hand, tentatively, his finger tips grazing the name carved into the stone. it wasn’t too fancy, and it bore signs of the few years that had passed since the body was buried. but it seemed fitting, given how blurry sanemi’s memory had gotten of the boy.

he ducked his head down, a breath leaving him. his words were tangible in the air, but he didn’t see them, didn’t hear them, could only register everything he wanted to say.

“…happy new years, masachika,” he whispered. his hand left the gravestone, letting it fall to his lap. his uniform was waterproof, so he didn’t bother getting up, even as numbness settled into his legs from the cold nestling around him. instead, he gazed at the ground in front of the grave. it was empty, save for the snow that had fallen smoothly over it.

after a moment of internal debate, sanemi stood and scoured the grounds. there were hardly any blooming plants, but he managed to find some daffodils, plucking a couple. he returned to the graves, placing two on masachika’s brother’s grave. then he placed the remaining flowers on masachika’s, gently arranging them. sitting back, he sat properly, closing his eyes.

behind him, the sun rose. the snow glistened in the light, dripping from trees. sanemi paid it no mind, allowing the cool air to swarm around him, feeling the bits of warmth the sun rays provided against his back. his breath was steady, dispersing out in misty clouds.

masachika sat in front of him, fiddling with the flowers and thanking him with a wide smile. beside him was his brother, the young boy whom sanemi had never met. the two brothers stood and happily took sanemi into their arms, with masachika murmuring about how much he’d grown, and masachika’s brother wishing they had met.

despite that, sanemi didn’t acknowledge them. he didn’t see them, and his goodbye as he stood were to the flowers and the graves. even so, masachika waved, calling out to him as sanemi turned from the house not for the first time in his life.

“happy new years, sanemi!! i’ll see you again, one day!”

I wanted to say that outside of semantics and divisions - I am simply happy to find communities that welcome with kindness - that welcome you by a good heart and not the ability to conform. I am happy for the opportunity to be surrounded by people who care. It's a funny world we live in - making the same mistakes over and over, multiplying the same suffering by billions. I don't think I hope for an utopia anymore, I don't think such a thing exists - but you can't call me hopeless either. And that's what matters.

As a side note - this piece is set in DanceAU, which might be better known to Patrons so far, but still it was the best and most fitting option for this occasion..... also there are 12 DanceAU pieces incoming, because I might be making another calendar so. get familiar with these mutts

Hello guys!!!!! Aforementioned project is finally finished 🫠 It was meant to be just a simple weekend project, and ended up being 30+ hours over the period of like four days. I don't think I'm an actual normal human anymore. This is the project that caused everyone in my life to question my mental and physical wellbeing and health. see i absolutely despise jimmy (and curly) as a character(s) but as a literary freak i can appreciate the way hes used as a story device with his relationship to curly. i could type this more eloquently but currently ive had a glass of champagne and i havent drank in like 6 months so my tolerance is low so forgive my writing but. jimmy cannibalizing curly. yeah.

theres multiple messages here, theres the message that jimmy is doing what curly (assumedly) did to get into his position and, employing another metaphor, taking the "dog eat dog world" saying to heart. and literally. devouring his competition. or maybe curly didnt do that. and thats what jimmy thinks curly did and so he aims to do the same. choose whichever one you like more they're both interesting storywise.

theres the message where jimmy "consumes" curly in some twisted expression of love. devouring curly so that he remains a part of him, an expression that he is the gold star captain and something to aspire to. admiration for something he'll never be and so he chooses to consume him in order to potentially absorb some of his skill or become more like him.

and then there is curly sitting there helplessly being devoured. its something he has no say in, not something that he chose to happen to him, its something hes become swept up in. he becomes devoured by jimmy in the literal sense of cannibalism, but also in the sense that he became so absorbed in his friendship w/jimmy he ignored his wrongdoings and ultimately led to anya's assault as well as the death of the whole crew.

curly and jimmy intertwined so that one is always consumed by the other. curly in a literal sense, jimmy in a more psychological one. i mean like its really quite crazy they did the "im consumed with thoughts about this guy and want to be him so i must literally consume him" thing quite well. when examining mouthwashing's narrative you find new things to admire every time. each little story element has a place in creating a wonderfully complex and heartbreaking story. its very well done and honestly something to aspire to from the perspective of someone who enjoys studying/writing literature.

all of this is to say i think that there should be more art of jimmy covered in blood and engaging in this cannibalism like the stupid little leech he is
