The way people demonize seagulls is actually unreal. Almost all of their natural habitat has been destroyed (almost all coastal areas have been developed, destroying natural sand dune ecosystems) and they're doing their best to adapt. They're literally just trying to survive. You're in their home. The vitriol some people have for these gorgeous sea birds just because they're not shy about snatching food if you're not cautious is insane

But the only tragic thing about that whole titanic submarine shit was the 19 or something year old that died on there because his dad wanted him to be on there. He didn't want to, but he wanted to make his dad happy.

The other people dying... Meh. They were being dumbasses. It's not tragic when someone dies of a moose trampling because they were trying to take a selfie with the moose. It's not tragic when someone loses an arm to a gator because they were trying to pet one in the wild. It's not tragic when people die of doing stupid shit.

What is tragic is the migrant ships sinking at Greece killing 700 people. What's tragic is when there are several unsolved murders. What's tragic is the fact that the attention of police brutality has died down and being forgotten about for major public eye and news networks.

Also the rich should be scared that the world heard about rich people dying and decided to make memes about it

okay i changed my mind. i actually do want soc3 but only as a means of grishaverse fandom revival. like tbosas and sotr are smash hit digging up hunger games diehards from decade-old graves, partially because they’re objectively good books, but also in that they still allow the trilogy to remain pure and untouched in the kind of way where you can reasonably tag a fic canon compliant while having inconsistencies with the newer additions. so basically exactly what people are doing with kos/row already. and soc3—if done right, and i do trust leigh enough to revisit the duology proper with that kind of care (and by care i mean disregard of netflix canon)—could absolutely hit those lotto numbers. who doesn’t want to welcome a new generation into a beloved story. i hate to say it but most book series do need new canon to stay popular. and i care more about keeping the fandom alive than the potential of soc3 being mid or ooc. i am strong-willed enough to ignore its existence in that case.
