piggybacking on the banana question, if they all got to run the train what order would they go in?? 🙏🙏🙏
(i just wanna know where you’d put nanami tbh)
I LOVE THIS QUESTION
Choso: cause he'd be the virgin of the group. they'd think of it as initiation and would want him to experience the very best on his first time. I imagine nanami would likely have to guide his dick in because he keeps missing the whole, would mutter encouragements and instructions. everyone would even shout out tips like 'hey cho, slap her pussy she likes that' or 'choso ma boi, grind your hips, oh yeah just like that, hear her moans? she fucking loves that shit'. he'd be passed out on the side from the overwhelmingness of it all, probably drooling babbling about how great pussies are
Nanami: would go next, his case being that he's got things to do so let's just get it over with. truthfully he couldn't wait any longer. he talks you through it, describes all the things he's feeling, how you're so tight, the pleats and folds of your pussy, how beautiful you look. he fucks you like there's no one else in the room. they'd all start complaining about long he's taking and he'd roll his eyes but would make sure you cum first before he does. and then he never actually leaves, he just stays, brushing tears from your eyes and cooing for you to let him know if it gets too much
Sukuna: the fact that he's sharing at all is already making him on edge, so to be going third would piss him off. RIP your pussy bro. he's really getting all up in there, bruising you so badly you're gripping Nanami's arm whilst he smiles down at you for being so good. sukuna would slap your face (not too hard, just to get your attention) he'd tch! and start degrading the shit out of you. look at you making obscene noises from both lips like a whore. you love the attention don't you? bet you want all of your holes filled up, you dirty girl. would probably demand someone plugs up your loud mouth. and after he cums inside, he'd force you to clean him up whilst the next one steps up
Geto: if I had it my way he wouldn't even be in the room but whatever, dick is dick so who can complain. he's very sweet seeming, he wets his dick with your cum, doing a pussyjob, really getting you worked up so you beg for him and then he fucks into you slow. too slow. you start crying, complaining, screaming for him to fuck you hard. he laughs until everyone else gets mad at him for being too mean, like come on man, there are limits. so then he picks up the pace and he even pats your pussy and thanks it for doing a good job.
Gojo: insisted he goes after geto. says he wants his bestie to go first but really he just wanted to fuck you with his dick drowning in geto's cum. that really gets him going. really mean too, would mock the faces and sounds you make until you're pouting through the tears that he's just like geto. and that man cums. he keeps cumming too cause geto comes up behind him and guides his hips and keeps him fucking into you, whispering how poor little you didn't even get to cum yet
Toji: that man is a dirty dirty whore. he doesn't care that other men's cum is dripping out of you. he's filthy. in fact, he'd eat you out before he slips it in. and he's bending you in all sorts of different positions. he even lifts you up so everyone can see your tits bounce, your eyes roll back, and your pussy take his cock again and again. man also walks over to choso and does it right in front of his face, asks him to lick your clit, and of course he does. pounds into you so hard you're dazed and delirious and when he asks who's fucking you best you're just screaming his name and everyone rolls their eyes
It just means they go for round 2 to prove who really is the best

1. ) On lazy afternoons, Ei and Yae team up to prepare a special tea blend that perfectly complements their unique personalities, and naturally their sweetheart will be the judge. Ei's playful nature mixes with Miko's elegance, resulting in a brew that always warms your heart and you truly can never pick which tea is better, so you always finish both.
2. ) We all know Ei is a little... culinarily challenged. But that doesn't stop you and Miko from trying to teach her the basics, it'll be hard to even convince her to step into a kitchen but with a few shoulder massages and kisses on the cheek she can't refuse her girls. Often times the end will result in two plates of food, and then one plate of….well you wouldn't call it food but you could be brave enough to take a bite while watching Ei's anticipating eyes wait for your reaction. Practice is sure to make some progress.
3. You quickly find that Yae is quite the prankster, you and Ei are usually the victims of her shenanigans but sometimes you two team up on her. One of your greatest hits were when you both convinced her to take a bite of some sweets Ei had bought from a local shop. You handed Yae the plate of a suspicious looking pudding, almost clear in color but doused in a sugary syrup. As she tries to cut into it- the "dessert" pops open and spill all over her lap, good thing it was only just a little hydro slime.
nsfw~
1. Yae and Ei quite knowledgeable, and you're happy to fulfill their requests. They'd send you on little trips to obtain certain commodities, but they'd only tell you what it's for when you come back. A very likely occurrence that happens, is Yae will go send you to bring her some novelty chocolates with pomegranate, lavender and gingko oil, and dozens of other aphrodisiacs. Except….you wouldn't really know they were such things, not until you're practically begging them to fuck you. Not until you're riding Yae's fingers, while Ei licks the chocolate off your fingers and the corners of your mouth.
2.) You can't tell me these two don't treat you like an absolute princess, and fuel your praise kink- Sex with Ei and Miko is never quiet, they'll always be whispering sweet nothings into your ear, caressing every inch of your body and praising you for being such a good girl for them…and good girls get rewards.
3.) Imagine taking a bath with the two of them, the hot springs are always you threes favorite place to relax. Ei will have a spring prepared with flower petals and rose water ready for you and Miko. You'll all sit in the bath, barely inches away from each other.
You can feel Ei's hand trailing up your thigh, as Miko's chest is pressed up again your shoulder.
The water, making it so easy for Ei to lift up your leg and put it over hers. Even easier for her to slip her fingers along your folds, the warm water feeling almost cold when your entire body is heating up from her rubbing your sensitive- puffy, clit. All while Miko rubs your hard nipples between her fingers, rolling them between her digits and tugging them slightly while her lips leave pink and purple marks across your neck. Yae is almost shocked, feeling your fingers enter her cunt, you didn't wish to leave her out, not one bit.
"Such a sweet girl, feels so good darling..." Yae will whisper into your ear, before moving your face towards her, slipping her tongue into your mouth while your fingers curl into her.
Ei, making your legs almost shake from how hard her fingers curl up into you.
"How is this, hm? Do you like it when I do this? Tell me how much you love it." Ei says, moving her body to cross into yours. Her pussy now rubbing itself onto yours, as you feel her folds slide against your clit, her tongue now tracing around your hard nipples before sucking until you can't hold back your whimpers.
You watch as Yae starts to share her tongue with Ei, all while you try to keep yourself from finishing so quickly, but that's inevitable.

I can't believe just how far Sweetpea has come!
She's still looking for her forever home, she is always going to have some issues in general from her MBD, and may never fill out to look 'normal weight'. She can't be on any loose substrates due to a weaker digestive system, again, due to MBD/prior starvation. I am looking for someone fairly close (Arizona, United States. I will not be shipping her due to her size, even in a large box if it's flipped over she wouldn't be able to get herself back upright.) Who has a lot of prior experience with bearded dragons. *I will not make exceptions on that, she is not a starter reptile* She also struggles to balance on branches, so any climbing apparatus needs to be low to the enclosure floor. Personality: She loves basking in the sun outside, her favorite food is red bell pepper, but she will eat the heck out of different types of squash as well. Zuchinni and yellow squash are her main foods currently, she'll also eat collard greens, just less enthusiastically. She hasn't turned her nose up at any bugs at all, she'll eat crickets, hornworms, dubia roaches, BSFL, etc. She's a cuddle bug, as her name implies. If you set her on your lap she'll nap for hours! She's slowly starting to be more active and use her legs more, and I'll often watch her march around her enclosure before settling for a nap. History: Sweetpea was bought as a subadult by a 16 year old kid, who swore to his mom that he'd care for her. Well, as it goes in these situations, the kid cared for a month before losing interest and feeding her -maybe- once a month. She didn't have proper UVB lighting, which made it impossible for her to metabolize her food and she slowly declined over time. Eventually the mom went into his room and found her, nearly on deaths door. Genuinely thought she had starved to death, but noticed her eye movement. She posted in a panic on facebook and someone saw it and contacted me. I almost didn't go get her because I thought it was a case of the dragon being in brumation and the owner not knowing they brumate. Beardies are a lot of work and I didn't want to add to my plate unless absolutely necessary. But I am so glad I did go get her. I had never seen such an emaciated bearded dragon in person before, and took her in as a foster immediately. The first two weeks I was scared I'd wake up to her dead, she refused all offers of food, I had to blend her food and syringe feed her very slowly every day as to not overload her organs. She wouldn't even look twice at live bugs, she had no appetite. Not only that, but she had 'rubber jaw', where after so long without UVB or calcium supplements their jaw just. Turns rubbery and flexible, so she couldn't chew at all. After about two weeks of syringe feeding, being under uvb, and carefully measured calcium supplements, her jaw strengthened enough that I was comfortable offering her solids. I had to put it directly into her mouth, but she started eating solid veggies. From there I taught her to once again eat on her own, and it's been uphill since then! Requirements: You -have- to have experience with bearded dragons, at least a couple years of owning an adult. She is a special needs dragon, and will likely never be a fully healthy dragon again. You have to have at least a 4 x 2 x 2 enclosure ready to go. She has to be kept on solid substrate (Sadly) such as tile or paper towel, as said earlier she cannot metabolize any swallowed substrate due to her weakened digestive system. I know its a lot, but she is a special needs dragon who has suffered so, so much. She deserves to have a happy, healthy life from now on with someone who knows what they're doing. Because of my requirements, I am not asking a rehoming fee. But I -am- requiring video or photo proof that you have experience with dragons, and proof of enclosure.

The Media Demon: Regress
[Note: I can't believe I'm doing this, @that-hazbin, I partially blame you for this, this is based on your media demon AU. I don't know if I will make another part of this. But for now, let's start with this first.]
Alastor knew that after Adam's last attack on him had given him an injury that would either heal very slowly or kill him if he wasn't careful and slowly start to heal up. But, for some reason, for some god damned reason that he still doesn't understand, he didn't leave the battlefield. He watched from the shadows as everything was happening and just as it seemed that Charlie was about to be killed by Adam from asphyxiation. He stepped in. He made a last-ditch effort to kill Adam and failed.
He attacked Adam from behind from the shadows and while Adam did let Charlie go to counter-attack him. Adam's attack, across his chest much like Adam's first fatal attack against him, but in an opposite manner, did more damage than what he was anticipating. But, for him, that was enough at the very least Charlie will have a chance of defeating or even killing Adam. Before Charlie or Adam could do anything else a blast of holy magic blasted Adam through the hotel roof and straight to the basement level.
'Well, it seems His Royal Shortness has finally arrived,' Alastor thought as his breath became wheezing, his lungs began to fail him as he lay on his back awaiting his second more permanent death to take hold, 'I do hope that they should just kill him, but the Princess wouldn't like that.'
His eyes began to blur as Charlie all, but clambered over to him in a panic, eyes filled with tears soon followed by Vaggie who was panicking, finally, Lucifer descended and immediately began trying to heal him also looking very much panicked and worried. 'Ah,' Alastor thought, 'Don't cry, Mon Faon.' Alastor tried to move his arms to wipe away Charlie's tears, but much like everything else his arms have also failed him.
His eyes trailed over Vaggie who was both trying to comfort Charlie and not cry and panic seeing him dying and then his eyes landed on Lucifer, who was doing his hardest to not look at him in the eye and concentrate on healing him. He used the last of his strength to grab one of Lucifer's hands and tried to drag the hands away from his chest when he grabbed Lucifer's wrist, Lucifer's eyes snapped straight onto him and made eye contact, Alastor could only give him this sort of pained grimace as his eyes held what both he and Lucifer know. He, Alastor, cannot be saved, but Lucifer only shook his head and as Lucifer's hands shook continued to try and heal him.
'This isn't the worst outcome I've thought of for myself, though it would be a shame to leave mon faon without any support, by now, His Majesty should step up, especially with me about to be gone.' From the edge of his eyes, he can see as the darkness slowly but surely consumes his sight. Lucifer's effort will only slow down his ensured death by a few seconds or a minute or 2 at most.
Rather than fighting it, Alastor gave in. Alastor stopped fighting against death and let it take him. Lucifer seemed to panic more and Charlie's cries grew louder as she tried to escape Vaggie's hold, who was also crying. Charlie was trying to get to Alastor to hug him. That was the last thing he saw before everything turned black for him.
______________________________
The first thing he knows is that he can no longer feel any pain, the second thing is that shouldn't he be dead. The final thing he noted was that he felt weak, magically and physically, but simultaneously, he was in perfect health? He finally put in an effort and opened his eyes and saw that he was in the middle of a crater in the middle of the streets in Pentagram City, and the feeling of deja vu. He climbed out of the crater he was in and nearly cursed without anything to cover his foul language. He knew those buildings, he recognised those old decrepit and out-of-date styles anywhere. This was the day he first arrived in hell. He was both thankful to whoever was behind this and cursing them to the high heavens.

The cursed job is one of my favorite examples of HP worldbuilding, developing. In book one, Quirrell is described:
“Oh, yeah. Poor bloke. Brilliant mind. He was fine while he was studyin’ outta books but then he took a year off ter get some first-hand experience. . . . They say he met vampires in the Black Forest, and there was a nasty bit o’ trouble with a hag — never been the same since. Scared of the students, scared of his own subject — now, where’s me umbrella?”
"Scared of his own subject" means scared of the subject Hagrid knows he teaches, and was "studying out of books" before he went to get some practical experience with dark creatures. Like he was teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts. That's why he took a defense-themed sabbatical. I know JKR has said in interviews that he Quirrell only spent that one year teaching DADA, and before that taught muggle studies, but that's a ret-con that really only raises more questions. Also it would have Voldemort like... double cursing himself in Book 1, which is kind of funny. Like your health's pretty delicate, just let Quirrell teach Muggle Studies.
In Book 2 it's - "People [are] startin’ ter think it’s jinxed. No one’s lasted long fer a while now." (versus the 'one year or less' deadline we eventually land on. Like I think if there were 25+ DADA profs, people wouldn't be *starting* to think anything)
In Book 3 there are "rumors that the job was jinxed"
In Book 5 Fred and George talk about "what’s happened to the last four [DADA professors]." (when they should have been there to see six come and go, if they really do only last a year.)
It's only in Book 6 where we get the curse's final form. “That job’s jinxed. No one’s lasted more than a year. [said Harry]" Confirmed later on by Dumbledore, who says "You see, we have never been able to keep a Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher for longer than a year since I refused the post to Lord Voldemort."
And all I can say is that, when I wrote "I get the sense that in the text, Snape’s tragic backstory is not meant to explain his bad behavior so much as it is meant to excuse it," what I mean is - his backstory absolutely does get into/explain why he acts the way he does around Lupin, Harry, Dumbledore, and it definitely makes some of the actions he takes make more sense. (Like staying at Hogwarts.) But it doesn't go far enough for me. Harry, okay I'll buy that, but why does he bully Neville, and the others. The narrative just moves on from that, and it's not like we have a moment later on when Neville connects his experiences in class to how Snape runs the castle as headmaster or something.
This is why I do think there's a bit of a short-cut aspect to Snape's backstory. I get it, JKR didn't have the space to do a deep dive on the psychology of why Snape bullies his students, so instead - she goes broad strokes. He had a tough childhood... and you know, his heart was in the right place the whole time. Which at least to me, falls more into the category of excusing, without explaining.
Since you’ve talked about Molly and Draco, can you talk about Snape as well? When you said that there was a disconnect with Snape’s character I honestly wasn’t sure if you meant the audience was supposed to like him more or less than they actually do.
This is a complicated one, because Book 1-3 Snape and Book 5-7 Snape are written so differently that I actually want to talk about them as two separate characters.
Book 1-3 Snape… kind of sucks. Maybe he sucks in a way you find funny (which I completely get. A lot of comedy - especially British comedy - revolves around finding the humor in really *mean* people. Snape is *written* to be funny in a dry, acerbic, Roald Dahl kind of way.) But maybe Snape sucks in a way that’s not fun for you, he’s just upsetting and cruel. Either way, he’s petty, unfair, a bully, completely unreasonable, and doesn’t really appear to have any redeeming qualities. Snape protects Harry in Book 1 only because James Potter saved his life and, according to Dumbledore:
“Professor Snape couldn’t bear being in your father’s debt. . . . I do believe he worked so hard to protect you this year because he felt that would make him and your father even. Then he could go back to hating your father’s memory in peace. . . .”
Later on, Snape’s motivation will become “Protect Harry because you couldn’t protect Lily.” But there’s no hint of that here.
I actually think it’s very likely that ‘Snape was in love with Lily’ is a plotline added during Book 4, because 1-3 Snape’s motivation is so completely focused on JAMES. He hates Harry because he looks like James, he hates James because (according to Lupin) he’s “jealous, I think, of James’s talent on the Quidditch field.” Within the context of the series it’s easy to say that Lupin is lying, and with good reason… but in the context of the first three books, I think that’s just meant to be true? Snape, as we know, is a stealth quidditch hooligan the way McGonagall is. Also… James’ characterization shifts around. He’s not a bully in the first three books, he’s Head Boy… and that Head Boy thing doesn’t quite gel with what we hear from Sirius later:
“No one would have made me a prefect, I spent too much time in detention with James. Lupin was the good boy, he got the badge.”
(I know JKR plans things out in advance, but she absolutely does change things on the fly. Arthur Weasley not getting killed by Nagini is an easy example that we definitely know about. And come on - the entire last book is a Deathly Hallows fetch-quest. Was there really no way to slip in a reference to Beedle the Bard - or a super-powerful semi-mythical wand - anywhere in the first six books?)
So, in books 1-3, there's no hint that Snape is a potion prodigy, particularly powerful, or even particularly clever. He wrote a logic puzzle and “knows an awful lot about the Dark Arts.” But that’s it. “Potion Master” isn’t an advanced rank, it’s just the posh British boarding school way of saying “teacher.” (Like headmaster = head teacher.) Early Snape is also a lot more *emotional* than he is later on, when his ability to “Master yourself!... control your anger, discipline your mind!” becomes extremely plot relevant. Like, can you picture 5-7 Snape (or Alan Rickman, who plays a distinctly later-books Snape) doing any of this?
Snape was beside himself. “OUT WITH IT, POTTER!” he bellowed. “WHAT DID YOU DO?”  “Professor Snape!” shrieked Madam Pomfrey. “Control yourself!”  “See here, Snape, be reasonable,” said Fudge. “This door’s been locked, we just saw —”  “THEY HELPED HIM ESCAPE, I KNOW IT!” Snape howled, pointing at Harry and Hermione. His face was twisted; spit was flying from his mouth.  “Calm down, man!” Fudge barked. “You’re talking nonsense!”  “YOU DON’T KNOW POTTER!” shrieked Snape. “HE DID IT, I KNOW HE DID IT —”
In Movie 3, Snape gets a cool protective moment where he shoves the kids behind him during the werewolf attack. In Book 3, Snape is unconscious during the entire werewolf attack because Harry, Ron and Hermione simultaneously decide he’s too dangerous, and too much of a liability to keep around. Here are are some bangers from Book 3 Snape:
- “Don’t ask me to fathom the way a werewolf’s mind works.”   - “KEEP QUIET, YOU STUPID GIRL!” Snape shouted, looking suddenly quite deranged. “DON’T TALK ABOUT WHAT YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND!” - “Up to the castle?... I don’t think we need to go that far. All I have to do is call the dementors once we get out of the Willow. They’ll be very pleased to see you, Black . . . pleased enough to give you a little Kiss, I daresay. . . .”  - “I’ll drag the werewolf. Perhaps the dementors will have a Kiss for him too —”
If you sort of squint you can maybe say - okay, maybe this is a PTSD response. Like I’m writing a Snape POV fic right now, you can make it work. But it’s not work the books do for you, and it’s not the characterization choice they make in the films.
BUT. Snape goes through a little bit of a revamp/retcon in Book 4. It’s totally deliberate - he’s Book 1-3 Snape at the beginning, then he basically vanishes from the narrative… the reader kind of forgets about him…  until it comes up during Karkaroff’s trial that Dumbledore ABSOLUTELY trusts him, even though he was a Death Eater. So now when Snape turns up at the climax - he’s a figure of intrigue, and it makes sense that he’s one of the two people Dumbledore brings with him to deal with Barty. Honestly, it’s a pretty cool magic trick. We buy it when - instead of hissing and spitting and hopping around like he does when he confronts Fudge at the end of Book 3 - Book 4 Snape deals with Fudge like this:
Snape strode forward… pulling up the left sleeve of his robes as he went. He stuck out his forearm and showed it to Fudge, who recoiled.  “There,” said Snape harshly. “There. The Dark Mark. It is not as clear as it was an hour or so ago, when it burned black, but you can still see it. (...) This Mark has been growing clearer all year. Karkaroff’s too. Why do you think Karkaroff fled tonight? We both felt the Mark burn. We both knew he had returned. Karkaroff fears the Dark Lord’s vengeance.”
Calm, collected, focused. This is a character who you’re supposed to take seriously, a character who you are supposed to respect.
I think it’s very interesting that after Book 4, we don’t see Snape *bully* the students during class again. He’s strict, and he’s a hard grader, and Harry still thinks he’s unfair, but like… the narrative framing is on his side now.
“Tell me, Potter,” said Snape softly, “can you read?”  Draco Malfoy laughed.  “Yes, I can,” said Harry, his fingers clenched tightly around his wand.  “Read the third line of the instructions for me, Potter.”  Harry squinted at the blackboard(… ) His heart sank. He had not added syrup of hellebore, but had proceeded straight to the fourth line of the instructions after allowing his potion to simmer for seven minutes.  “Did you do everything on the third line, Potter?” “No,” said Harry very quietly.  “I beg your pardon?” “No,” said Harry, more loudly. “I forgot the hellebore...”  “I know you did, Potter, which means that this mess is utterly worthless. Evanesco.” The contents of Harry’s potion vanished; he was left standing foolishly beside an empty cauldron. “Those of you who have managed to read the instructions, fill one flagon with a sample of your potion, label it clearly with your name, and bring it up to my desk for testing.” (...)  “That was really unfair,” said Hermione consolingly, sitting down next to Harry  (...) “Yeah, well,” said Harry, glowering at his plate, “since when has Snape ever been fair to me?”
Like he isn’t nice, but he also isn’t asking Harry questions he can’t possibly know the answers to, threatening to kill someone’s pet, or calling Hermione ugly. He didn’t even take away house points. And - during the next lesson, we are told that the approach Snape took with Harry actually worked?
Determined not to give Snape an excuse to fail him this lesson, Harry read and reread every line of the instructions on the blackboard at least three times before acting on them. His Strengthening Solution was not precisely the clear turquoise shade of Hermione’s but it was at least blue rather than pink, like Neville’s, and he delivered a flask of it to Snape’s desk at the end of the lesson with a feeling of mingled defiance and relief.
I want to do one more close read, on a excerpt from Book 5:
Harry realized how much Professor McGonagall cared about beating Slytherin when she abstained from giving them homework in the week leading up to the match. (...)  Nobody could quite believe their ears until she looked directly at Harry and Ron and said grimly, “I’ve become accustomed to seeing the Quidditch Cup in my study, boys, and I really don’t want to have to hand it over to Professor Snape, so use the extra time to practice, won’t you?” Snape was no less obviously partisan: He had booked the Quidditch pitch for Slytherin practice so often that the Gryffindors had difficulty getting on it to play. He was also turning a deaf ear to the many reports of Slytherin attempts to hex Gryffindor players in the corridors. When Alicia Spinnet turned up in the hospital wing with her eyebrows growing so thick and fast that they obscured her vision and obstructed her mouth, Snape insisted that she must have attempted a Hair-Thickening Charm on herself and refused to listen to the fourteen eyewitnesses who insisted that they had seen the Slytherin Keeper, Miles Bletchley, hit her from behind with a jinx.
This has a very similar structure to the sequence when Snape refuses to punish Draco for enlarging Hermione’s teeth. Slytherins and Gryffindors having an altercation, Gryffindor girl gets caught in the crossfire. BUT a few key things have been changed. One - the section is told in second-hand narration, which makes it less emotional than the teeth-scene. Two - the section begins with comparing Snape to McGonagall: she’s being biased/helping out her students too, so it’s only fair if he does it as well. Three - his insult isn’t “Your face has always looked like that,” it’s “You must have messed up a spell,” which is a lot less personal, and a lot less mean. (If anything, Snape is subtly insulting her for casting a cosmetic charm/being too girly… and being a girly-girl is an inherently suspect characteristic in JKR’s world.) Everything about this passage is set up to create a “Snape the Bully” moment… that kind of excuses Snape.
So, what do we have? There are the people that think Book 1-3 Snape just went too far, and you can soften the narrative framing around him, and you can add in as many tragic backstories as you want, and it doesn’t really matter. THAT is definitely not what JKR wants you to think. She wants to bring you along for the ride, and (as you can tell from the framing) she's started to like Snape a lot.
HOWEVER. I do not think that the fan who likes 5-7 Alan Rickman Snape is… quite seeing the same thing she is. I get the sense that in the text, Snape’s tragic backstory is not meant to *explain* his bad behavior so much as it is meant to *excuse* it. He stays mean and bad-tempered… but he’s allowed to be, both because he is always acting in service to a Good Cause, and because he was abused at home, bullied at school, etc. A big part of why I think JKR likes writing Snape so much (and why she’s so protective of him) is because she finds something cathartic in letting a character be nasty… but for it to be allowed because they’ve suffered, and also because they're in the right. Sadly I think this describes a lot of her current online interactions.
JKR also loves the idea of *pining.* (It is crazy how long the main characters’ pining/longing/will-they-won’t-they thing in the Cormoran Strike books has lasted.) It’s a very safe kind of romance, and (again, sadly) you can tell from her writing that romance is not generally something that feels safe to her. Snape is sometimes characterized by those who dislike the character as an incel-type who wants to possess Lily, and I just don’t think that’s in the text. If anything it’s the other way around. Snape has some unconsummated, medieval courtly love thing going on, where he has decided to live his life in Lily’s service.
I wrote about why I think Draco Malfoy (unintentionally) appeals to fans. With Snape…  I actually think a lot of his current (unintentional) appeal comes from the way a softer Snape reframes the narrative into something more complex, and especially the way it reframes Dumbledore. Manipulative/Morally Grey Dumbledore is a *very* popular fan interpretation, and the way you get that is with a sympathetic Severus Snape.
“You disgust me,” said Dumbledore, and Harry had never heard so much contempt in his voice. Snape seemed to shrink a little. (...)  “Hide them all, then,” he croaked. “Keep her — them — safe. Please.”  “And what will you give me in return, Severus?”  “In — in return?” Snape gaped at Dumbledore, and Harry expected him to protest, but after a long moment he said, “Anything.”
The implications here are really far reaching. Because to me, the main question when it comes to Snape is - why does he STAY at Hogwarts? He clearly hates it, why doesn’t he just leave? If you’re talking about 1-3 Snape, it's because he’s eternally holding out for the Defense Against the Dark Arts job, and he’s just kind of a twisted miserable guy who would probably be equally miserable everywhere.
But books 5-7 add the context that he’s brilliant, he’s brave, he’s principled, he’s got a sense of humor. He seems close with the Malfoys. He has *options.* So now the (unintended?) implication is… he doesn’t leave because Dumbledore won’t let him. The fact that he keeps applying for the DADA job becomes dark and borderline suicidal when we learn it’s cursed, and that Snape knows it’s cursed. If he takes it, he’ll leave (or die) at the end of the year. That means, every year, he’s tacitly asking Dumbledore “Can I leave?” And Dumbledore is answering “No.”
That’s such an interesting, juicy character dynamic. Snape is being kept miserable on purpose because… he’s easier to control that way? And if that’s true… then oh boy is it sinister that Dumbledore left Harry with the Dursleys. He knew he was raising Harry “like a pig for slaughter” (as Snape puts it.) And if Harry doesn’t have a support system, if he’s miserable, if Dumbledore can swoop in as his savior… then doesn’t that make him so much easier to control?

I HAD THE COOLEST IDEA EVER (maybe not the coolest but it has potiental)
so the founders of Toman are all the same age right??? Imagine if there was one that was a bit younger then the others (like 2-3 years) so their probably the youngest in Toman, and the founders (especially Mikey) sort of saw them as a younger sibling and always looked out for them a little bit.
SO IMAGINE THE MANILA TIMELINE. Where Mikey goes on his whimsical little killing spree of all the captains/og members of Toman to off them, EXCEPT for the younger member, he still goes to find them but he probably just talks to them, sees how their doing, and might even give them a hug. Mikey probably doesn’t tell them he killed their friends too because he knows it would hurt them too much. point is their the only one Mikey doesn’t kill because he can’t bring himself to and cares about them too much.
In the Bonten timeline maybe Mikey has someone stalk them (not stalk but just see what your doing and stuff) just to see how their doing, what their up to, if their ok. After he lost Emma they were kind of the only “sibling” he had, so maybe it comforts him to know that you’re doing well in life.
idk I just thought it would’ve been interesting if there was someone in Toman who was a bit younger then the rest while also being a founder. But that’s just me
Yeah I can see that! Sort of like how he didn't kill Takemichi in manila because Takemichi was kind of his Shinichiro and he couldn't do that to him, the younger member would be his Emma after she died and he wouldn't be able to harm them either in that timeline. And then in bonten I think he would want to stay away from them (thinking he's going to mess their life up) but would also want to make sure they're ok so the whole having someone follow or keep an eye on them would make sense.

On a random night in 1989, Ice and Mav have a fight about their future together. Ice wants to quit the navy and love Mav in all the ways he deserves, out and proud, but Maverick doesn't let him. He knows Ice wants to climb through the ranks and get stars on his shoulder, he can't be the reason Ice misses this.
That night, they broke up. Ice couldn't bear be with someone who didn't love him just as much as he loves them, and Maverick couldn't tell Ice he wouldn't give up flying for him.
Ice quits the navy. He would've done it with or without Maverick.
30+ years go by, and their lives haven't even once crossed paths, not even at Slider's wedding nor Sundown's funeral. It seems like the universe had separate plans for them, and it stuck this way.
(They were at both of these events, but Wolfman was in charge of "Not let Mav and Tom see each other" and he always aces a task)
Until Wolf's retirement party, that is. With him being the center of attention, he gives Hollywood the most important task of his life, Wood have other plans tho, he's very easily distracted by his husband's beautiful smile and when they're least expecting it...
"Hey" Maverick says, sitting on the bar, side by side with Tom.
"Pete!" Tom opens a big smile "Long time no see!"
"Yeah, right." Mav takes a pause, looking at the other up and down. "You look great"
And he did. Being away from the navy must've given Tom 10 years of his life back.
"You look exactly the same," Tom laughs. "Like, scarily so."
Pete laughs with him, although the smile doesn't quite reach his eyes. In just 2 minutes, between seeing Tom from across the room and engaging in conversation with him, Mav noticed he seems... happy.
"I think I've been time traveling in those jets," he jokes, and Tom laughs. Again.
Tom didn't have such an easy smile back then. It rubs on Maverick the wrong way.
"How have you been?" Tom asks, after taking a sip of his vodka.
Maverick did not have a good answer to that question. Miserable? Missing you every day of my life? Discharged?
"Good" it's what he settles for. "You?"
Something in Tom's eyes twitches, like he's well aware Maverick's lying to his face, he says nothing about it, and Mav doesn't give him a chance to. He spots the ring on Tom's finger and, before he can help himself, he asks:
"What's her name?" Earning yet another laugh from Tom.
"I know it's been a while, but I'm sure you remember I'm not particularly interested in women." Tom plays with his ring and adds: "His name is Grant, and he's..." Tom searches for something in the room, then points. "... right there."
Against his better judgment, Mav turns to see where Tom's pointing. He regrets it immediately. Grant is gorgeous.
He's the exact opposite of Pete. For starters, he's tall, taller than Ice, taller than Slider whom he's talking excitedly with. Grant's hair is silver, and he carries a smile that would make Mav swoon if the situation was any different.
"We met in 2001" Tom continues, smiling lovingly at his partner. "Got married in 2016, and..."
"And...?"
"Our kid came to our lives in 2019. She just turned 10."
Maverick feels like he's going to throw up. Husband and daughter. Tom had both a husband and a daughter while Pete was still in weird terms with Bradley and as single as he's ever been. It wasn't fair. He was the one who didn't want Tom and now... Now, Tom has been living a happy life with a family he could only dream of when he was in the navy, and Pete still held onto a tiny bit of hope that he would get Ice back.
It wasn't fair. Not at all. He might die of regret.
"Listen, I gotta go to the restroom, " Ice said, getting up. "You stay here! I'll be back. We have a lot of catch-up to do, " and walked away.
Mav downed the rest of Tom's drink in one go, very disappointedly realizing it was water and not vodka.
"Hey, shortstack!" comes from Ron Kerner, looking a bit tipsy, bringing Grant on his arm. "I want you to meet my dear friend, Grant!"
"Yeah, I..."
"Grant, this is Pete Mitchell, Tom's wingmen" hearing Slider refer to him as Ice's wingmen did something weird to Mav's heart. "Mav, this is Grant Kazansky, he's..."
"Ice's husband, yeah, I heard."
Both Slider and Grant giggle at this. Grown man. Giggling. "He hates being called Ice nowadays," Grant explains. "He says Iceman is someone who should stay in the past."
"Sorry, old habits." Mav opens an awkward smile.
"Can I get you a drink?" Grant offers. "Something stronger than Tom's water."
"I thought it was vodka." Mav murmurs.
Already gesturing to the bartender to bring a drink, Grant says: "He stopped drinking when our princess came to our lives."
"And yet I'm her contact emergency" Slider interrupts.
"Because you let her eat ice cream before dinner!"
And isn't this nice? Maverick thought to himself. Him, his biggest love's husband and fucking Ron Kerner all sitting together and having a nice chat!
Before he could actually throw up in front of these people, he excused himself and went to get some fresh air.
Not even 5 minutes go by before someone sits down besides him on the sidewalk.
"He talked about you." Grant says, offering Mav a glass of something that might be whiskey — or apple juice, you never know.
"Good things, I hope." Mav says, taking the glass.
Grant snorts, but doesn't answer. Awkward silence rovers between them.
"Do you love him?" Pete asks, breaking it.
Without missing a beat, Grant answers: "More than I ever loved anyone."
Something twists in Mav's stomach, but he ignores it.
"That's good. He only deserves good things."
But it went without saying. Grant knew Tom deserved only good things, hell, Ice knew it. He would never settle for less than he deserves, and that's why he's with Grant and not Maverick.
"He's lucky to have you," Pete finishes, swallowing the bitter taste the words leave in his mouth.
"I'm lucky to have him." After a beat of awkward silence, Grant adds: "You should come by to dinner."
Mav must've heard it wrong, so he waits for Grant to correct himself. It never comes.
"What?"
"Dinner at our place," Grant explains. "He'd love to get you back in his life, he treasures his friends a lot."
Friends. Right. That's what they are. No.
"We haven't been friends in a long time," not since 1986, he lefts unsaid, since we started dating.
Grant seems to think about it, then decides, "Now it's a good time to reconect. Enjoy your drink."
Then he walks back into the bar, leaving Mav and his thoughts alone.
It all seems a bit crazy for him. Ice — sorry, Tom — has a husband. And they've been together for more than twenty years. A husband who loves him dearly and isn't afraid to say so. A husband who goes to navy events just to celebrate Tom's old friends. A husband who looks like could and would kill anyone who did Tom wrong. A husband who sat down with Tom's ex and invited him to dinner just because.
Pete thinks he should accept the offer. Just to see what Tom's been up to and meet his daughter, would she like him? Would she call him "Uncle Mav"? He should call Slider and check on what to wear and say...
Oh. He doesn't know what to say around Tom. They're strangers now. The man who he once shared a house, a bed, a life, and a heart with is now a stranger to him.
The realization does something to him, something very bad. He takes a sip of his drink and decides this day could not get any worse.
Huh. Whiskey. A good one. At least Grant knows his liquor.

I'm Good At Loving You (You're Good At Loving Me) pt. 2
part 1
(hurt/comfort i think. feedback is appreciated, i'm new to this)
Kara notices after that conversation at the Tower three weeks ago something started to change.
Lena stays over almost everyday, and they develop a domestic routine: sometimes they're lucky enough to spend some more minutes in bed before properly starting the day, just enjoying the other's company. Then they eat breakfast, wash the dishes, sweep the floor, take out the trash. After that they shower and get ready for the rest of their day. They have a late lunch with their team and go back to their respective tasks. By the time she goes back home Lena is usually there, if they didn't go together.
Kara's favorite part is the relief of coming home and finding Lena making dinner, or reading a book on the couch, or coming out of the shower, or- Kara's favorite part is Lena. And today she's...
Not here.
As if today wasn't awful enough already.
She came in through the window and falteringly made her way to the kitchen, leaning over the countertop.
She finds a note on top of it in Lena's handwriting "forgot my phone at the lab, portal watch is still broken :/ BRB "
Not even five minutes later her partner arrives. She barely opens the door and Kara envelopes her in a hug. Lena is quick to reciprocate despite the suddenness.
"Oh. Hi. I came back as fast as I could, are you okay?"
Today was a hectic day. She had to leave early in the morning and missed breakfast, the villain of the week was turning into villain of the month, she'd been running on nothing but a sandwich, a bag of chips and yellow star radiation for the past 12 hours, and to top it all off she solar flared. She used the last bit of her powers to fly home. She didn't break anything and didn't get sick, but still, everything hurts.
She shakes her head.
"Oh, darling. Let's go inside and talk about it?"
Kara doesn't want to talk though. She squeezes Lena tighter. She can do that now.
"Or we could go inside and not talk about it?" Lena knows her so well. "How about we get you out of this suit, and you take a nap while I worry about dinner. Does that sound good, honey?"
Lena knows her so well.
She loves Lena calling her "darling", but "honey" is on another level.
It's for when she's grieving Krypton, her family, her friends, her culture. For when she can't get out of bed after waking up five seperate times in the same night because the memories that come back as nightmares wouldn't give her a break. For when she couldn't save everyone from a fire or earthquake or alien attack. For when she's not even able to process and explain what's happening.
It's been a while since she needed it.
She nods.
She has no idea what time it is when she wakes up, all she knows is that it's cold, Lena is stroking her hair and the softness of her voice can be compared to the one of her hoodie and sweatpants.
"How are you? Did you sleep well, honey?"
Kara yawns and stretches. She does feel a little bit better so she nods.
She does remember what Lena said during dinner. "I talked to Alex and J'onn and they agreed that we all need a break, so Nia suggested a game night sometime soon."
The night's events blur together. She doesn't know if it's because of her exhaustion or the fact that this has happened so many times before — it's mundane, eating with Lena after a hard day.
She also remembers when she was able to voice her thoughts for the first time since she got home.
She had just gone to bed, her face buried in the pillow, as Lena was petting her hair.
"Honey, are you feeling better?"
She nods and turns to her left so she can see Lena. "Thank you for this."
"I'm glad I was able to help."
"You always are."
Kara grabs Lena's other hand and brings it to her lips, peppering her with kisses, maintaining eye contact. She wants to be closer, though.
Lena reads her mind again. She lifts up the blanket as an invitation to get closer, which Kara accepts.
Kara settles her body between Lena's legs and rests her head on her chest. Featherlight fingers caressing her back, the subtle rise and fall of Lena's breathing. It's grounding.
"I love you." she breaks the silence.
> > > × < < <
Kara has said that a lot in the past couple of weeks. Mostly when they're in private, or when she's about to go on field.
She had been so anxious about this. Terrified to trust that Kara wasn't manipulating nor leaving her.
But seeing the way Kara looks at her – like the first time they woke up together, or shared clothes; with an unmistakable fondness in her eyes, a light blush on her face and a smile on her lips – she knows she means it.
Most of the time, Lena responds with physical affection, a soft "I know", a concerned "stay safe", an "ily" text; sometimes she didn't respond at all, still not completely used to it. This is not any of those times.
"I love you too." She barely thinks about it, it's always on her mind. Such a frequent thought it became an easy action. Natural. Familiar. Known.
"I know, baby." Kara plays with the collar of Lena's shirt, traces her neck and jaw.
She never liked being called "baby" by her exes. It was uncomfortable, infantilizing and just felt wrong.
There was only one person who made it tolerable: Jack. But even then he didn't use it all the time. He preferred "darling" and so did she.
The first time Kara used that pet name, it came as a suprise that it didn't bother her. It was two, maybe three weeks into this new aspect of their relationship.
"You're so wonderful, baby, so stunning." Kara could probably listen to her pulse rushing and see her face flushing which only made her blush even more.
In the past she would have said something like "I know you're trying to be cute but I really don't like that word", instead she said nothing because her brain had given up on her.
The reason she likes it so much now is probably because it's always accompanied with compliments and reassurance.
"I'm so proud of you." proud. Lena lets out a short laugh and smiles shyly.
"Darling, you're doing it again..."
"Doing what?"
"Comforting me when you're the one who needs it."
"I told you." she finds a way to get even closer, kisses her cheek and says "It helps."
Although she doesn't fully understands how that works, she does see how it affects Kara when she starts to relax.
> > > × < < <
She eventually falls asleep.
With Lena's hearbeat at the perfect volume on her ears; audible but not overwhelmingly loud.
The words "I love you too" echoing in her mind; can words be addictive?
The hope that tomorrow won't be worse than today; may Rao help her.
She eventually falls asleep.

so this post was on my dash last night and i woke up still thinking about it. bc i really do feel like we get a lot of internalized homophobia!Wilson, due to the very comphet of it all, but i think there's some really interesting angles you can play with from this perspective, too. & of course end up with some major angst lol.
so. i kind of ended up going on a long ass ramble here. i've stuck it under a readmore for those who're just scrolling. thanks for putting up with me lol
the main thing i'm thinking about is like...the huge, Stacy-left-me-shaped chip on his shoulder. because how many straight guys do you know who have made their breakup this massive personality trait/let it take the blame for their behavior for years afterwards? i know so many! "wife left me, i joined the NRA" type shit.
in this situation you're describing, i think the breakup is a huge part of how this plays out. because: 1. any feelings he has for men after that are just because she fucked him up so bad. and 2. yes, he's upset she left, why wouldn't he be? he certainly wasn't relieved, secretly, that she pulled the trigger, that she gave him an excuse to push her away. he certainly wasn't tired of pretending, especially given his new condition, which makes it harder to mask. that would be crazy.
so he latches on to this post-breakup, miss-her-but-resent-her pattern of behavior because it's an easy cover for whatever else he's feeling, on two separate fronts. and then she comes back. he finds out Wilson is trying to keep them apart and for a split second, he hopes it's because Wilson's jealous, and he hates that he feels that so much that he throws himself back into manic Stacy-mode again, to the point of being party to her marriage nearly breaking up. a guy who breaks up his ex's marriage is definitely straight! right??
i think a lot of the time we get House being portrayed as the one who's settled with himself because he has this air of hedonism about him, and he enjoys being the contrarian/making people uncomfortable, and doesn't appear to care what other people think. but of course, we see that's especially untrue where his father is concerned. in a world where nothing was off limits to House, we'd expect to see him weaponizing the abuse as part of the way he makes people uncomfortable, right? instead, he's so quiet about it that even Wilson doesn't know well enough to not make him go to the funeral. it's a product of a time when certain things belonged behind closed doors. so there are some things that are off limits to House. joking about being gay is one thing, it gets a rise out of people, but he doesn't allow himself the real thing because 1. he's not gay and 2. it's so bound up in the complexity of the first few decades of his life. which he doesn't talk about, not even to make people squirm. most young people start to contend with their sexuality while still living at home...on base housing, where it felt like there were eyes everywhere, and with a father like John House. then, like you said, came the AIDS crisis, and how many tirades do you think John probably went off on? with his son, the doctor, on the phone with him? the voice that told him how to be a man is asking if he's really gonna treat those fags or not. what do you do?
i'll end this by saying, as a kid who grew up with base brats of several types, i've always found it really interesting + sorely underexplored that House is referred to so often just by surname. i know it's a thing among medical folk, too, but undoubtedly, when his father's buddies came around, they were calling him House. hell, i knew kids whose mothers called their fathers by surname. i've always found this interesting because if House didn't choose it, if it's something that just happened organically during med school, did it hurt at first? and if he did choose it, in this case, would it be because it felt like being a man? his father, the model he had for "real" masculinity growing up--would taking up his name in his early adulthood feel like a shortcut to a male ideal that he was so desperately struggling to align with?
thinking about internalised homophobia House. I normally headcanon him as openly bi (but maybe repressed or in denial about being in love with Wilson), but I like the idea of his suggestive gay comments being a cover because he's so far in denial and gay jokes are a way of being like "haha isn't it so ridiculous and subversive to suggest I'm gay? I'm doing this for the shock value because I'm obviously straight", in the same way straight guys think gay jokes are the funniest thing in the world
his homophobic military dad and becoming independent and coming of age in the 1980s and only hearing about gay people during the AIDS crisis left him with some fucked up ideas and attitudes about gay people (and himself. and what it means to be a man)
if Wilson ever tries to confess feelings for House (or if they fall into each other on a drunken night), House would absolutely withdraw, run away, push Wilson away because House isn't gay
House then dating a woman to prove to Wilson (and everyone. and himself) that he's normal and straight
eventually, if he and Wilson start seeing each other, House would rationalise it as "technically homosexual, but not like those other gays". maybe he'd also withdraw in public where anyone could see them, and try to suppress the emotional side of things ("this is just physical, don't be a fag about it")
meanwhile, Wilson is desperately trying to be okay with the scraps of affection he gets from House, but it's killing him. he's not doing well. after pining over House for so long (knowingly? unknowingly? you decide), he didn't think it would feel like this. but maybe this is the best he deserves

Thoughts and feelings on Poppy: Small analysis.
Tumblr media
Didn't think I would make another one of these anytime soon buuuuut looks like my brain had different plans, so let's dicuss the knock-off Chucky shall we?
While by no means her biggest fan I feel like Poppy actions deserve a bit more civil discussion than hate. (That's not to say that you shouldn't hate on her. You should, it's hilarious.)
While not a good person by any stretch of the imagination, I genuinely think Poppy kinda has a point with her ambition to blow everything up.
Like- rationally that is the objectively the better choice to bury everything because be for real with me: These toys are not safe and neither is the world outside the factory.
There is a higher chance of them being locked up for research or being shot on sight than there is of anyone actually trying to integrate them into society, and even if someone did there is also a very likely scenario of any stress Inducing situation causing a toy to feel threatened and go into fight mode, which how you get a dead guy on the floor.
And even if they lived in hiding instead, exactly how different would that be from living in the factory? Now instead having to worry about murder toys they also have stuff like: weather, wild animals and of course humans-
So an ideal solution would be to bury it all, let the victims finally rest in peace, make these horrors public and never repeat this mistake again.
Of course there is the fact that these are not objects or mindless monsters, they are all still people with very real human emotions and thoughts who have shown themselves to be capable of being peaceful when feeling safe.
But even in an ideal world I doubt that there wouldn't be any incidents considering that anyone currently alive in the factory is or was at one point a murderer.
Where Poppy lost me is the part where she made it abundantly clear that SHE would get to live, not because it was a necessary step, no,no she just didn't wanna die. If YOU make the decision to sink the ship then you better be ready to go down with it captain.
She is part of this, a part of the horrors. They will live on with her just like they would with ANY other living toy she does not get a pass just because she is tall enough to be kicked around like a football, if Bobby bearhug overhere was able to maul me to death then so can she-
It's honestly just a dick move on her part and a massive "fuck you" to everyone else as it implies that she somehow is special or deserves to live more instead of them when she is no different than the others, but their sacrifice insures her survival.
That is why we side with Doey outside the game.
But-
A point people tend to brush aside is that she isn't just looking out for her own survival, the plan is that we,kissy and poppy are going to rescue the orphans sleeping in the factory but like, how do we know they are actually alive?
Even if we take Poppy at her word(which we shouldn’t as she is an unreliable narrator) that they weren't killed during the hour of joy and actually were put into a coma, that was years ago.
Once you think about the likelihood of that still being the case you start to see all the holes in that statement.
You tell me a bunch of children put into a medically induced coma for YEARS are still alive and well under the care of an insane monster in a factory that's falling apart?
If that's the case I want the prototype as my actual doctor he probably has already found a way to keep me young and healthy forever.
If 2+2=4
Stay with me here.
Then I ain't gotta be a genius to know this shit don't add up-
Like Poppy is also not dumb, I think she would’ve at least considered that possibility right?
Or maybe she didn’t.
Because she didn’t want to consider that scenario.
Poppy is a very flawed character: A coward, selfish and very headstrong in her plans. She’ll figure out how to get her way whether you like it or not and she tends to not pay the feelings of others not much mind, focusing on the bigger picture.
But she is far from the worst person here, she is a victim in all of this but that doesn’t mean she is incapable of being bad either.
Those flaws mentioned above as well as her fear to get locked up again or worse drive a lot of her actions in game and clearly she has ulterior motives.
I find her fascinating, similar to kevin she is not the perfect victim so I get the vibe that the fandom is way harsher to judge her.
People also don't simp for her like they do for the doctor and completely disregard all of his actions but I digress-
Anyway thanks for joining me fellas that's all I'm gonna say for now.

Regardless of our stances on characters, I think we should vote them all Innocent, since this is the last trial and it's very likely the guilty vote will result in death (the images for dead prisoners are labeled as "guilty")
I'll only mention here the characters I feel like people really wanna vote guilty now
First, Muu.
So what if you see her as just stereotypical bully? So what if you consider her to be responsible for Haruka's death all because she was the one who brought him food and then expected a pat on the back? We knew he'll kill himself if Muu gets voted guilty, and we knew Muu was supportive of that "because that's what friends do". Our own choices lead to Haruka's death. Sure, being further encouraged by Muu and Kotoko didn't help. And also, what if T2 Guilty vote he received too felt like further encouragement? He basically had only one person tell him not to do it, vs 2 people + entirety of the audience tell him to go ahead.
Her being voted guilty this trial will not bring back Haruka.
Second, Fuuta.
No, he didn't kill Shidou as some claim just to paint him in bad light. And also, so what if he turned to religion? I'd like you to go through constantly feeling like you're watched and hearing voices judge every single thing about you, not being able to sleep properly for a year and longer, and have constant pain from an untreated injury, all the while guilt over your past actions that your friend group also participated in is weighing heavily on you. Let's see if you wouldn't latch onto first thing that promises relief from all of that. Can you seriously blame him for that?
I'm gonna be honest tho, given he has an untreated eye injury, I feel like he'll die regardless (eye infection can be very dangerous if left untreated and its a short way from eye to brain). At very least, he should be allowed to go home to see his family for last time.
Third, Amane.
Even Jackalope, who's painting her as this evil brat who's out to murder everyone who's against her beliefs, tells us that it's just a domino effect of Kotoko's actions. I'd also say her current beliefs are heavily formed by our own voting. First MV showed her simply helping a cat and then getting punished for it. And what do we do? We voted her guilty. We punished her. After seeing her help a cat. I think it's clear here that this results in strengthening the "You deserve to be punished for practicing medicine" belief.
I get it, you're sad, you're hurt, you're angry, you need someone to blame, which is Amane T2 Inno voters and Amane herself, but Amane being voted guilty will not bring back Shidou and Mahiru. Voting her guilty this trial will just result in her getting killed.
Fourth, Kotoko.
Yes, her actions caused this and if we voted her guilty T1, they wouldn't have happened. But, look back at her actions during T1: do any of them give a very clear signal that she sees all crime equally, that voting her inno would have given her a go ahead to do as she pleases and that she'll just beat up anyone to brink of death? They don't. We might look back now and see some signs, but given we didn't vote her guilty back then, that tells you those signs weren't very clear. Also, plenty of people didn't take voting seriously at that time, and many voted her simply because she looked cool. Even if you were somehow able to see into the future, she'd still get inno, maybe just at smaller percentage. Also, her crime is indirect murder, not the one we see in first MV. The murder we see her do in her MV was already judged outside of Milgram.
Her being voted guilty will not bring back Haruka, Shidou or Mahiru. And I don't think it's fair to vote her based on our assumption that she will just go back to killing people once she's out — even if she does, she still hasn't actually done that. How different does that make us from Amane if we simply killed her now in advance to prevent her from interfering with other people's lives?

I wanted to only go to the first two classes today, but the teacher of those hours sent an e-mail warning she won't be able to go today
the thing IS, that bitch will send a substitute teacher to do a check of who goes or not to the class despite the fact she won't be there, like if we were little kids or smth, and I hate it so MUCH

You know, I do believe there were times during the interrogation where Stephen imagined the relationship he ‘could have had’ with Thomas. Perhaps, there were even points where he “forgot” that this was an interrogation that would ultimately end in Thomas’s death, and let his mind wander to old times.
Like times when they worked with Wolsey. This is probably not the first time he’s seen Thomas hold his own in a hot seat; there had to be times when they were younger, working under Wolsey, when he sat and enjoyed seeing Thomas use his lawyer jargon, and run circles and circles around young men who think they could best him. And I mean even after Wolsey died the books, until Stephen is sent to France, they have a decent on-and-off relationship where they work together and occasionally, would spend time together.
But, I just took notice of the way he was looking at Thomas during the interrogation, the way they caught each other’s eye once or twice and held their gaze for just…a moment, as if Stephen was going to see how Thomas could wiggle his way out of this hole. He was amused because he knew Thomas more than anyone in there, longer than anyone in there. There was a time they were friends, a time where an event like this - Thomas using his wit to outsmart people - was just a common thing between them, and Stephen was impressed. But of course, when Norfolk started talking, reality came crashing down and Stephen had to accept that, this fire he enjoyed so much from Thomas, would be put out in less than what? Forty-eight hours? His friend, his enemy, the man he had hated but respected, the man he had in a way been manipulated into hating, who annoyed him so much but also brought him some forms of amusement and excitement would be dead. And he’d never see him again. Thomas was the only one imo who could both handle Stephen and bring out a more complex side of Stephen.

Aveline is one of those companions in Dragon Age that makes me say, "God, you're such a bitch... tell me more right now."
I don't hate Aveline; honestly, I don't hate any of the companions from any of the games, their flaws and negative aspects make them interesting... but oh my god, Aveline is infuriating and sometimes I just want to grab and shake her.
She's such a hypocrite. She believes she's so lawful good and would never fall to corruption but she absolutely does?? Just because it's not the same sort of corruption as Jeven doesn't mean it's not corruption??
The Magistrate's Orders quest where you go to find Kelder who has a history of kidnapping and killing elven children? Aveline strongly agrees with bringing down hard justice on Kelder. When one of the guards there says Kelder's father will have Hawke's head, she says, "Only if it's reported."
If you kill Kelder, Aveline gives you Friendship +5 because she understands that if you let Kelder go, he'll never face justice for his crimes because his father won't let him. If you let him go, she gives Rivalry +5. In this situation, Aveline is more approving of Hawke killing him because yeah, it's bad that Kelder is killing these elves and everyone is just covering it up.
Fast forward to the end of Act 2 where Aveline comes to Hawke like, "The qunari are harboring two fugitives, we can't let them do that, it'll be real bad if people think they can avoid punishment by hiding with the qunari, come help me."
But then you get there and the two fugitives are a pair of elves who admit they killed a guard who forced himself onto their sister because no one did anything when they reported it. So they took matters into their own hands... and Aveline has the balls to say, "That doesn't excuse murder."
What are you talking about??? And if Hawke asks her if it's true, she hesitates and says there were rumors and she'll investigate and I'm just.... what do you mean you'll investigate??? you heard rumors?? did you not investigate before??
Aveline "I don't coddle my men" Vallen, you KNEW someone reported this about that guard and what? You didn't investigate because?? Because nooo, not one of your men?? Aveline, just because you're in charge now doesn't mean ALL of the guard are as lawful and good as you supposedly are! There's always going to be corrupt guards and a good Guard-Captain would do everything in their power to seed out those guards for the betterment and safety of the people! They would take those accusations seriously! But the elves say no one did ANYTHING.
Then the part that really gets me, right? Is if Hawke says they would've done the same thing, Aveline gets pissed and says, "Hawke! That's not helping!"
But that's the thing- If it WAS one of Hawke's siblings in this exact situation instead of a nameless elf, Aveline would've taken it seriously. If the same guard forced himself onto Bethany or Carver and Hawke killed him for it, Aveline wouldn't be stomping around like, "That doesn't excuse murder, Hawke! How could you? You need to face justice!" No, she would've been all for killing the guard because it's Hawke and their sibling.
Aveline cares about Hawke and has a bias for them, so it's okay for them to do that but a couple of elves who, like Elren from the Magistrate's Orders quest, are sick of no one helping them when they need it do it.... Noooo, that doesn't excuse murder!
It's like Aveline can't ever admit she's in the wrong, either. She never takes accountability for this. Even if she just admitted that she should've investigated and she'll make an effort to be better for the sake of ALL people in Kirkwall [because Aveline believes "I stand for all of us!" so strongly that it's something she consistently says in battle] moving forward then I would be less what the fuck about it, but she just doesn't.
It's like with Emeric and the murders happening... she and her men supposedly investigate Emeric's claims that all these murders happening in Kirkwall are connected, but Aveline keeps dismissing him that there isn't enough evidence.... except there's SO MUCH EVIDENCE when Hawke goes to investigate DuPuis, funny enough.
It's takes Leandra going missing before Aveline takes the case seriously. Even Emeric dying is like.... "oh no, he's dead, he was right... let's not do anything about it." It's takes Leandra dying for Quinton to be caught and killed, and my Hawke always lashes out at her for this and she just.... stands there like "Okay. Nothing I can say will make it better. Sorry for your loss."
but actually, yes, you COULD say you'll learn from this and do what you can to be better.... but again, Aveline just doesn't want to hear it?? then the qunari shit happens after!
And I get it. Aveline is only one person. She's Guard-Captain but she can't be everywhere at once and sometimes there really isn't enough evidence to convict someone of a crime. I'm sure she has a lot of work and stress in her position... but god, it's her inability to face the fact that she isn't this great embodiment of lawful good and that she IS corrupt in a lot of ways.
Turning a blind eye to the corruption in your guard, coddling your men and getting pissy when Hawke comes to you like, "So, Cullen sent me a letter that there are complaints about you and he wants me to investigate because he's scared of you and really don't want your job so.... are you coddling your men?" and having your husband, someone completely biased in your favor, vouch for you like.... that's being a little corrupt, Aveline??? a little dishonest?? a little abuse of your power?? why are you so frustrating???
I have a lot of criticism of her [like don't even get me started on how she ruined Carver's opportunity with the guard when that absolutely was not in her right to do] but I still find her to be interesting in a complicated, frustrating way. I have theories about why she's Like This that stem from her father and upbringing, but that's an analysis for another day. I just needed to get these thoughts out because I'm replaying DA2 and Aveline always hits a nerve.
#aveline vallen#aveline critical#dragon age 2#da2#long post#i don't hate aveline because for me i get more enjoyment out of playing these games when i try to view companions from all angles#and understand why they are the way they are and let them be flawed#rather than being dismissive and saying 'i hate them' the second they do something i don't like#even if they do shit that reeeeally pisses me off like aveline tends to do#plus there's usually deeper reasons when characters hit a nerve with me apart from a simple 'that's wrong and i don't approve'#like this whole thing I have with aveline here totally stems from the fact that i play as a tabris in origins#my tabris goes through a parallel situation as the elves aveline's going after except rose was nearly the victim in the situation#but it did happen to shianni and rose didn't hesitate in killing vaughan for what he did#what vaughan's gotten away with for years and no one stopped him because he's an arl's son#but then rose kills him and here come the guards to arrest her for her crimes...#never mind that vaughan kidnapped her with sadistic intentions and it was justified self-defense on her part#and it really makes me wonder what aveline would say to my tabris if confronted in this situation because rose would've chewed her ass out#if not worse and wouldn't have accepted 'there's nothing i can say that will satisfy you' for an answer like my Hawke had to#like rose knows guard corruption when she sees it and she'd make sure aveline knew it too but y'know...#unfortunately that's an interaction that only exists in my head#in conclusion: aveline's a bitch and i would like to know more please sksksks
