I think we can all agree that punk rock Butch in the IDW Issue #9 and #10 comic playing the drums was one of the best interpretations of his character we could've gotten:
I just love his attitude:

I'M LOSING MY FUCKING MIND KYAAAAAAAAA
THIS IS NOT A DRILL!! WE STILL HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE REBOOT MADE BY THE ORIGINAL CREATOR BUT WE GOT SOMETHING IN ADVANCE 😍😍😍😍😍😍
By the ones who handled Birds of prey and adventures of young Diana!!
LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOO!! I hope they keep the personalities right and they are in character, this are supposed to be THE ORIGINAL PPG not the disgusting unnameable garbage of 2016
(They better add more RRB content because we only got one miserable chapter with them in their last IDW comic 😤)

Dynamite's Powerpuff Girls comics have been fully announced!
While the cover says Rated Teen, the comic will be aimed at younger and older audiences. Unlike the 2013 IDW run, these will be single issue stories and not big story arcs, so any issue can be bought without needing to buy the previous issues.
This appears to be based on the original 1998 designs, with the pointy bow and shorter ponytail on Blossom, the lack of hair decorations on Bubbles, the lack of cowlick on Buttercup, and regular ears on Mojo Jojo as opposed to those elf ears he had in the movie design.
Another hint this is not PPG 2016 is that Sedusa and the Rowdyruff Boys will make appearances in this run, along with Mojo Jojo, Fuzzy Lumpkins, HIM, and "perhaps even more". This doesn't appear to have any relation with any particular upcoming reboot, and there's nothing to indicate Craig McCracken has anything to do with this.
The first issue will release on July 2024. One of the variant covers being what looks like one part of a panoramic shot of all three girls suggests this will be at least three issues long. Want it to last longer? Ask your local comic book guy to put it in your pull list when it becomes available.

cringe but i luv ur older ppg redesigns and how u draw them with different body types🥹🥲☠️💞
especially bubbles , she reminds me of a farm girl
THANK U and a farm girl is exactly what i had in mind when i designed older bubbles. now that i'm thinking about that again, considering their relationship in the IDW comics and stuff, bubbles probably has a hand in Fuzzy's eventual rehab. wouldn't be shocked if she set him up farming
thicc bubbles also came from the fact that she's made of sugar and the talking dog called her chubby when his entire problem was that he was too blunt. and of course bubbles has to be the most round one from a design standpoint

What your wishing for is the fandom to use their Canon personalities instead of the fanon ones. Because Canonically speaking the RRB's personalities are opposites to the PPGs.
If find more interesting for the RRBs to be in the same scenario as their counterparts but go about it different ways. Like Boomer getting Bullied by his siblings, Similar to Bubbles, But, Boomer is shown to not be a pushover. He is stupid but brave. And he is outspoken. Bubbles doesn't like arguing, But, Boomer always argues with Brick, hence why he gets hit so much.
Boomer isn't as sweet as Bubbles, In the comics, He is a little shithead. Yes, He gets bullied alot by his brothers similar to Bubbles, But like I said before he is no pushover. He is also bully himself, Considering how treats Butch in the cooties comic. He is a bit of hard head , And he is more snippy and gloomy than sugary and joyful.
I could see him and Bubbles having issues, Especially when Bubbles represents everything that he dislikes. (It shown in the IDW comic, Where complains how she doesn't like the RRB music because it's too loud and scary and Boomer calls her weak for it)
Just like how is the girliest of the PpG and embraces her feminity, Boomer is a manliest of RRB.
Boomer also tends to Overcompensate alot for evilness. In the comic Father knows worst, Butch and Brick's Evilest action, we're minor inconveniences. While Boomer put an entire couple in danger.
Also if you go rewatch TBABIT, Boomer is the only one who shows 0 reaction when Bubbles is babying. Like the guy is literally😐 throughout the whole thing. While is brothers do show some sort of reaction/embarrassment.
Boomer personality is literally the opposite of Bubbles. She is sugary and He is Snippy. (But also absent mindedly cheerful)
As for Butch,
This boy said "wow" once while reading magazine. And the fandom said, Yeah your entire personality is pervert.
I would argue that Butch is the least aggressive out of two. Because when you look at it, He doesn't really do much.
He doesn't mind entertaining his brothers by acting like crazy maniac. (Which is why the fandom label him as "unstable") when it's just kid, Having fun. And yeah he twitches, But twitching doesn't automatically mean dangerous or unstable.
Because when you look at Butch's behavior in the comics, He is quite chill. He isn't acting crazy or anything. He often repeat what Brick says. And is more of a follower.
Because even when Brick suggests the most boring shit, Like spitting down a airplane. He still get excited for that. I know alot people say Butch has Buttercup's aggressiveness but I disagree. I don't think he is aggressive at all. Like TBABIT, all we saw him do thump Buttercup on his chest like Gorilla.
Compare that, With Boomer literally Stomping on bubble's head or Brick playing psychological trick Blossom by pretending to spit on her.
Like Butch didn't do much to Buttercup.
When bubbles accidentally hits him, He just looks daze, He doesn't show a glint of aggressiveness or anger.
If you look at the comics , When Boomer played the water trick on him, All he told him, Is that Now he got to dry his clothes. He wasn't mad, He was just annoyed. And he wasn't aggressive to Boomer either.
He also admires and Trustes Brick to the point of gullible, Because he never questioned Brick when he told her there was dryer. Only tricked again and got scared. (In the comic above)
Butch is the Opposite of Buttercup, While Buttercup challenges Blossom, Butch prefers to follow Brick's lead. While Buttercup is more headstrong and rebellious. Butch seems more chill and enjoys the simple things in life. But he is still the energetic middle child.
As for Brick, He isn't smart, He is dumb. But, To be fair, He is Streetsmart and uneducated (cuz he doesn't go to school) pretty simple minded.
And probably is the most self aware compared to his brothers.
He is a natural leader because he is always the one who is suggesting his brothers to do things. He pretty good at reading/understanding people (a.k.a streetsmart), On how he looks at Butch when he needs a hypeman or knows that Boomer isn't afraid of roaches.
He is also not as commanding as he looks. Yes, He smacks Boomer everytime, He talks back to him. But he also does acknowledges when Boomer has a good idea. Like in Snail away.
Or in bubble boy, When bubbles suggested them to do something and he acknowledges to be great idea.
I get the whole "introverted" vibe in Clipsville, Where he mellowed out a little. But he still isn't introverted. Even in clipsville, He is asking Blossom If she going Todd's which is a party. (And he also pretty deadpan at times)
I don't like how the fandom make him book smart, for Blossom. Like make him idiot, Who would argue with Blossom about 2+2=22.
Because Brick is a confidently incorrect person. He likes acting like knows it all even though he is wrong.(Like he corrected bubbles for dumb), and that could make an interesting dynamic with Blossom who is a confidently correct person.
Like, The color coded ships are literally the "opposite attract" trope, Why are we giving them the same personalities as their counterparts? When they are supposed to be opposites?
Granted, the RRB are not as flesh out as the girls, But we do have some crumbs to their personalities in canon.
Unpopular Opinion and Pet Peeves in the PPG Fandom
If you got anymore please tell me in the replies or ask

I hope you agree with me byeeee🫶🏽🤭

See, Sedusa was in the Reboot...
Master Research Link
What I’ve learned...
So IDW begins with a typical Powerpuff Story. They beat up Mojo, they beat up a monster, it turns out to be a golfer that went missing for decades. But interestingly, Mojo is rethinking his life. By the end of the first issue, he wants to be dosed in Chemical X. Second issue, Mojo is gone and Jojo is back. But HIM sees a prime opportunity to mess with the girls and decides that if they are willing to give second chances, let’s see them do so.
So HIM made all the remaining villains, Sedusa, Morbucks, Fuzzy and the Gangreen Gang, into good guys. The sad part is I really like them as good guys. Sedusa is back doing hair and being humorous. Fuzzy is fighting for our property. Morbucks is working with the girls. And all of them work together to beat up a giant monster. It’s just a shame HIM just turned them back to normal as quickly as he turned them good.
So HIM’s plan was to make the girls never trust everyone. All he did was cork their bad intentions and once loose, they went back to their natures. Hearing this, they decide to fight HIM for messing with them. But HIM was too powerful for them. It’s just a shame his Shadow Clones don't work on Bubbles because she has no deep darkness in her (even though she totally does). It also shows that Bubbles has an exclusive power outside language: light projecting.
Mojo is back and he sends a nuke down the volcano to basically wipe out the human race. The Girls stop it, but Mojo is in space for Plan B. Shame we never know unless it actually does lead to the Super Crossover Crisis. Monster Day has the girls fighting every monster from the Island in Townsville. All thanks to King Steve who was the monster who gave them the pep-talk when they were trying to find new hero identities. The Girls eventually won thanks to Bubbles showing she has the idea to reprogram Mojo’s Robots. Thus leading her to her computer language in the Reboot.
The series ended with a two parter where The Boogeyman works with Disco aliens while Viking Alien Boy Bands team up with both the Powerpuff Girls AND Rowdyruff Boys. And sadly Mojo’s Plan B was taken out since the series was ending. Overall, I do prefer this over the DC Series since it does feel like a modern take of the PPGs. And funny enough, a lot of stuff here actually comes up in the Reboot.
Super Secret Crisis War is pretty fun, but not really a lot of game changing Vs Stuff. I don’t think the Girls directly hit Vilgax or Aku. Though the thing that’s interesting is both Fosters and Dexter were referenced directly in the PPG Series, yet are treated as separate worlds in the crossover. Maybe those are specific variants. The other crossover I reviewed and like before nothing really that game changing... Except Mojo threatened to destroy the Multiverse and rebuild it!
Finally reading the reboot comics, and found one holding all the issues proper. Off the bat, Donny and Jared are going to be completely ignored. As much as I dislike Bellum for being overhyped, they’re objectively worse and boring respectively. So far, I think if you wanted more action from the girls the comics seem to be giving it to you. Just skip the second issue. Chicken Butts.
The Time Tie Miniseries is alright. Gives Mojo a Time Tie. Though the Bureau of Bad special is doing wonders. Already, it solidifies the scaling to Dexter’s Superhero stuff (and I did that already for Macho man) and it’s basically the best of both worlds. The story feels like the old school Powerpuffs but with the new designs and characters. And with that, all the comics for the Powerpuff Girls are done. Now, the video games as listed on Wiki (skipping the Browser Games because I doubt they got much).
Starting with Mojo Jojo's Clone Zone because I’m curious what kind of game it is for the PC. It's an educational game. But it introduced us to Mojo’s Psychic Shields, shields that protect his brain powered by his brain. So in theory, this means he can’t be mentally probed. But reveal his deep dark secrets (which aren’t that bad), and they’ll weaken.
Best Feat I found...
Mojo threatens to destroy and rebuild the Multiverse. Granted, it was mostly Dee Dee’s fault but Mojo took over and had everything set up to finish destroying and remake everything in his image. Second place is Mojo’s Tail being able to send the Powerpuff Girls flying through space. If Gal-Cactus didn’t stop them, they would be flying for almost 400 years.
Next Time...
More games. Possibly the Gameboy ones.

I’m not really sold on the idea that Bubbles is the only person in Townsville without sin, who should be able to resist HIM’s spell. I mean, yeah, she generally has the kindest, most forgiving, most optimistic, and the most trusting heart of the three girls. I like her character, too. However, that doesn’t mean the narrative of this comic should be acting like she’s completely without sin either.
Yeah, there are a few episodes from the classic series that I also completely disregard as canon too because I felt they were written in ways that were just way too OOC, mean-spirited, and/or ridiculous to justify, such as “Moral Decay,” “Slave The Day,” “Sun Scream,” “Toast of the Town,” “Say Uncle,” and “Reeking Havoc,” but I feel like it undermines Bubbles as a character to play it off as though she’s the only one in the city without sin. Does no one remember “Bubblevicious,” “Candy is Dandy,” or even “Helter Shelter?” She could be pretty fiercely and dangerously competitive with her sisters when her strength as fighter was getting undermined by her family in comparison to theirs in “Bubblevicious,” and she beat Mojo to a pulp with her sisters over candy in “Candy Is Dandy” when they got hooked on Candy after he stole it from the Mayor. Even in “Helter Shelter,” she deliberately disobeyed her dad when he told her not to bring anymore wild animals into the house, and she seemed to think she could get away with it by acting cute and being a little smart ass.
But all storytelling contradictions with Bubbles’ character aside in this comic, I do genuinely love this little scene in the PPG IDW comics issue #5 where Professor Utonium comforts Blossom and Buttercup after they feel bad about not being the “perfect little girls” anymore because they are victims of their own pride and/or wrath at times.
D’Aww...Professor Utonium is such a good dad. He loves his three little girls so much. They’re perfect to him, even if they are flawed!
#d’awww#Professor utonium is the sweetest dad!#powerpuff girls#IDW ppg comics#issue 5#blossom ppg#bubbles ppg#buttercup ppg#Professor utonium#I’m not at all sold on the concept that Bubbles is without sin because I’ve watched every episode of the classic cartoon#yeah there are a few certain episodes/segments of the show that are way too ooc mean spirited and/or ridiculous that I disregard as canon#bubbles was generally the sweetest of her sisters but she wasn’t a Mary Sue either and I feel like this comic makes her out to be one#but I feel like playing it off as though Bubbles is without sin undermines the complexity and relatability of her character#but I do love this scene where Professor utonium tells Blossom and Buttercup he’s proud of them and they are perfect to him!#don’t be sad blossom and buttercup! your daddy still loves you even if you’re flawed!#he loves his little girls just the way they are flaws and all!#and see this is why the classic PPG is so much better than the 2016 reboot or that horrid CW pilot script#Professor utonium loves his three little girls just the way they are and never forced them to be anything they didn’t want to be

Butch always struck me more as "joy and laughter" than Boomer. Boomer is more of a "toughest fighter" role. Since with ppg, Buttercup is the one to talk back to Blossom but in RRB, case it's usually Boomer who talks back to Brick and challenges him (and he gets hot for it).
Brick looks at Butch when he needs hype man for the "Boys are back in town". Butch is also, More laid back, He isn't as aggressive as his brothers. Like when Boomer pulled that trick, he just got annoyed claiming now he needs to change a new shirt not Mad. And he usually just copies Brick.
Boomer maybe absent mindedly cheerful but he is extremely edgy. However, I think Boomer is the one who gets picked on the most because he tends to overcompensate alot. And Brick hits Boomer the most in the idw comics and the show because he tends to talk back to Brick. Or talks when he doesn't need too.
Although I do feel a Lil sorry for Butch in both show and Comic, bad things happen to him and it's not his control. He was the first one that got hit in "Boys are back in time", He struck by bubbles in "bubble boy", He was the one who fell Boomer's prank, And He was the one who got nauseated in Snail away. (Butch basically has terrible luck)
While Boomer it's usually his own choices, He gets smacked constantly by Brick because he talks back to leader or speaks out of turn.
Brick doesn't have anything bad happened to him but he probably under alot of pressure. I wouldn't be surprised if he held the biggest grudge towards the girls. Since he is the leader of the rrb after all.
Butch got targeted most than Boomer.
okay I get it, Boomer got himself yelled and hit by Brick but have you seen Butch get through?
At episode "Boys Are Back In Town" He got humiliated by Buttercup which they discover the ruffs weakness is threatening their masculinity. And the second which is "Bubble Boy "that Bubbles randomly hit Butch with only her spit.
At the comics, he got pranked by Boomer in "Roots of All Cooties"
And lastly he got himself a nausea after he ate the snail to get his power back along with his brothers.
But is Butch the true victim the whole time??

I feel like it should be made known to everyone that the RRB have met the Boogie Man in the comics, and they completely roast his boomer tastes.

As much as I loved this comic and Bubbles, I think the writers were doing a disservice to her character by writing her off as without sin. I don’t think that’s true at all. Yeah, I know continuity wasn’t always a big thing in classic PPG, and there certainly are episodes that I completely disregard as legit canon too because the writing for the characters was too painfully or ridiculously OOC for me to justify, and they’d never get mentioned again afterwards, anyway, such as “Moral Decay,” “Fallen Arches,” “Keen on Keane,” “Daylight Savings,” “Reeking Havoc,” “Neighbor Hood,” “Gettin’ Twiggy With It,” and “Toast of the Town.”
However, it has been a recurring trait for Bubbles to be the most emotionally manipulative of her sisters with her “cuteness” when she gets in trouble with her dad. In “Helter Shelter” and “Pet Feud,” she seems to think she can get away with getting into trouble by playing dumb with her dad, even after Professor Utonium catches her.
In “Bubblevicious,” she completely went off the rails because she got too competitive with her sisters over being babies. Yeah, the whole point was that she was OoC there, but it has gotten referenced afterwards in the comic series. She made fun of Buttercup for having a security blankie in “Cover Up,” and pressured her to give it up with Blossom, even though she has Octi. In “The Mane Event,” she and Buttercup accidentally butcher Blossom’s hair, don’t say anything on their way to Townsville to stop the giant eyeball monster, and then humiliate her in front of the whole city by laughing at her hysterically along with the rest of the city.
In “Child Fearing,” she, Blossom, and Buttercup all torment Mojo Jojo by being insufferable brats when he became their babysitter for the night. Yeah, it was hilarious because it was so over-the-top and ridiculous, and it was in response to Mojo asking them to help him take over the world. But it was still kind of mean.
In “Candy Is Dandy,” she and her sisters ask Mojo to commit crimes for them to stop, so they can be rewarded with candy by the Mayor, and then beat Mojo Jojo to a pulp when they realize he stole the jar of candy. In “Ploys R’ Us,” Bubbles, Buttercup, and Blossom all take advantage of their dad when he is sleepwalking to steal toys for them.
In “A Very Special Blossom” and “Ice Sore,” she and Buttercup are pretty hard on Blossom. Granted, they have some good reason to be in “A Very Special Blossom,” but it’s still kind of hypocritical for them to show no compassion for her, as if they’re so above it all after “Bubblevicious” and “Down ‘n’ Dirty.” In “Ice Sore,” Blossom was being a bit of a show-off with her new power, but she wasn’t really doing anything to deliberately provoke her sisters.
I love Bubbles, but I definitely think it’s doing a disservice to her character by making her something of a Mary Sue through playing it off like she’s the only girl without sin because she’s not.
That being said, I really love how Professor Utonium comforted Blossom and Buttercup when they were beating themselves up over not being “the perfect little girls” in this comic issue after this scene by telling them that he was very proud of them and they were still “perfect” to him. He loves his little superpowered girls so much, even if they’re far from perfect. He’s such a cute dad! I also liked that scene because usually it was Bubbles who got the most individual comforting from her dad. Blossom occasionally did, and Buttercup hardly ever did because the writers didn’t know how to write centrics where the world wasn’t against her, and she tended to keep her insecurities and vulnerabilities bottled up.
So I really loved this scene!
It literally only took Professor Utonium sugar, spice, and everything nice (plus an accidental dose of chemical X) to preform human transmuation, so I dunno why Ed Elric’s child prodigy ass couldn’t do it.
#classic ppg#idw ppg comics#professor utonium is the sweetest dad!#blossom ppg#buttercup ppg#bubbles ppg#professor utonium#I don’t really buy that Bubbles is without sin but this scene was cute!

i know this is not your information but do you know why the rrb doesnt appear to much in the original show?? i watched the whole show and they just appear like, almost 4 times in 6 seasons.
i think this is soo wasted potential, in my opinion they are one of the most powerful villains there, and thats fuckin amebas always appears even if its not their time. i wish they had more appearence in this show, with mojo or something like that...
Well i don’t really know! And I think it probably has to do more with the fact that they’re probably not truly villains maybe??? Like they’re like half baked villains kinda and they’re just REALLY annoying 😭 I wish there was more rrb content but at the same time I’m content with what we have because it makes up for a lot of cool fan theories and writing and stuff~
hmm and you have to remember that that ppg is a parody gag show so I don’t think there’s supposed to be constant villains that beat the shit out of the girls alllll the time (which the boys surely did do) like that’s why mojo is there all the time and HIM appears less than mojo and the ameba boys are easy to beat up and yadda yadda yadda
(IDW PPG #9+10) Just a random whatver this is actually my favorite rrbppg interaction and I don’t think people talk about it enough maybe because people don’t know it exists or what but 😤 it’s so cute!!! And I feel like it shows a lot of boy’s personality! I also believe this is the only time the appear in the comic to this extent tho (idk I haven’t read all the comics yet)
