Pathfinder Feat Idea: Bone Shifting

Prerequisites - Constitution 15 or higher, Heal 3 ranks, Knowledge (Religion) 3 ranks, Dislocate

Using a mixture of bodily control and meditative necromancy, you can control your own skeleton to a disturbing degree. When you use the Dislocate ability, you get a +4 circumstance bonus to Escape Artist checks and Intimidate checks for one round per hit die you have. You can also push your bones through your skin slightly - as a swift action, you can take 1d8 points of lethal damage to treat your fists as spiked gauntlets for 1 round per hit die, or to use your finger as a lockpick on a single Disable Device check.

A plot where he’s an author working from home and is desperately lonely, but with a stroke of luck he finds a kitten meowing outside one night and decides to take it in. She’s small and scrawny but full of sass but he has no idea what to do with said kitten because he’s never had a cat before- but his neighbor is a vet tech. They’ve never spoken because he is shy, he likes to quiet, and she’s honestly a bit intimidating and loud- not to mention beautiful, and he gets nervous around beautiful girls- but he swallows his nerves and goes next door with the kitten in hand to ask for her help.

She’s surprised because her slightly broody and quiet neighbor has only ever half asses his waves when she greets him but he’s suddenly at her door with a kitten who is adorable but most definitely needs a deworming treatment. Considering she fosters from work all the time she has the stuff, invites him in, and despite the awkward start she gets him to warm up… and every day, he comes over with a cat related question until he’s out of them and it turns into questions about her…. And it will begin 🤭

Idea: if you’re playing a game where zombies, or vampires, or the Borg, or werewolves are a major part of the plot, here’s a devil’s bargain or plot enriching device. Let’s say a PC gets affected by one of these infecting monsters - a toxic mutagen is sprayed on the Monk during a battle with some yuan-ti, and the fight is far from over.

Now, the rules might say the Monk immediately morphs into a serpentine version of himself, but the rule of cool still applies. “I’ll let you resist by sheer willpower for a few minutes,” you tell the player, “but if you do, there’s no curing this.” With the Witch at 0 hit points, and the Fighter surrounded, it’s a dramatic decision - and the Monk will have another dramatic moment later when he says goodbye to his friends as he becomes a bloodthirsty snake monster.

Would you take the deal for your character? Save the day, but become an enemy of the party or run off into the forest? Or would you accept immediate transformation, with the possibility that they could save their friend later on?

thinking of writing a fic on an idea of like. the deputy killing the very bad leader then taking over the clan and saying that they're going to take it out of a dictatorship (and they do) but then because they're equally as fucked in the head as the prev leader they make it a cult but because everyone's CONVINCED that they're totally Not Evil ™ they just go along with it and the clan just pulls away from the others until a leader is like 'hey what the fuck' and goes to check on them and finds out about this giant cult

Based on something i read awhile back where someone said that 'The Princess Bride' could be remade and possibly well, because the idea of it is the imagination of a child. That you could show the imagination of a child in countless, endless ways.

That stuck with me, and what if 'the Princess Bride' was a mini series. each episode a chapter, each chapter read by another grandparent, parent, child, to their ailing love one. A child sick in the hospital imagines her handsome doctor as Wesley. An elderly woman in hospice imagines herself and her husband young as Wesley and Buttercup as her husband reads to her. A little boy sees his towering, lovable uncle as Fezzik. A young man reads to his grandfather, who sees his best friend who passed in war as Inigo. A kid first imagines their new step-father as Prince Humperdink but slowly, the characters switch in their mind as they realize how much the man cares for them. Each episode the characters switch, connect, flow together, showing how imagination and love are an interconnecting thread in everyone's lives. The story of how a story like 'The Princess bride' not only brings people together, but is something that we all share, no matter who we are, where we came from, what we do, we all share something we love. The greatest love story ever told, truly becomes about love in all it's ceaseless forms.

People like to romanticize the relationship between Zelda and Link in a whole “destined reincarnated soulmates” kind of way, but am I the only one who thinks it would be more interesting if Link didn’t love Zelda?

Like, think of it. Hylia is a Goddess, basically Hylian Jesus, and she loves this mortal man. A hero who stepped forward to defeat a Devil in the world’s hour of greatest need. But, he didn’t do it for her, he did it for the World. Even when he binds his soul to the Triforce, locking himself in an endless pattern of reincarnation with her against the Devil Demise, it’s not because he loves her. He loves Hyrule and its people.

But that’s okay, maybe in the next life they can be?

But it isn’t. Over and over, Hylia becoming Zelda, Link doesn’t love her. He loves Hyrule. He loves to dance to its music and ride its fields and wants to preserve it against the threat of Demise. He loves different women each time, and sometimes it is Hylia’s reincarnation, but they’re never the core of his heart.

It’s always Hyrule that he loves. From it’s savage and arid deserts to the cold and harsh tundra, he loves it, and steps forward to save it each time.

Duty, he calls it. Responsibility and Purpose, but Hylia/Zelda knows the truth. He’ll never love her the way she wants him to.

Hyrule will always be Link’s first and greatest love.

Possible benefits: if moonlight isn’t shining on them (it would go through without reflecting) they might turn back into a person.

Possible downsides: invisible werewolf.
