Saw some anons talking about how they noticed Jikook so I thought I would give my perspective too. To be honest I am indifferent to Jungkook I've been for years. I don't hate him. I just don't find myself interested in him. Except when he is with Jimin. Now as someone that has been into BTS since 2014 and biased Jimin for that same time, I always noticed Jikook. It's impossible not to. At first I really hated how JK was so dissmisive of Jimin, placing him last in looks, pushing him and so on. You know. But Jimin always seemed to have a special love for JK regardless and that confused me. I grew up to understand Jimin and his relationship with JK as time passed though. By observing Jimin, I would get a dosage of JK too since these two are always together. Jimin would mention JK all time. Jimin would play with him in every behind the scenes. Jimin would always be touching JK head and taking care of JK. So I was set on "Jimin loves this dude too much", then I started paying attention to JK and his relationship with other members too see if he reciprocated and I came to the conclusion JK does appreciate Jimin in a unique way too. He is someone that is not good with words, he is sensitive but has trouble being open about his feelings towards other members. But record says he has been the most open with Jimin. I think he appreciates Jimin as a hyung that dotes on him and as someone that he clicks with on stage. But I can't see anything romantic feelings from his end or Jimin's end most of the time. I have wondered sometimes if Jimin had a crush on JK at some point. But most of the time I am set on them only being very close friends. Those type of friends you flirt with and things are not awkward because both of you are just so close and so in tune with each other that you know it's safe to do it.

So I don't think your Jikookers anons who were worried about Jikook being too obvious should be worried. Most people pay even less attention to their interactions than me. They don't even have doubts that Jikook is not real.

BTW regardless of my indifference towards JK I was happy to know there is a possibility of them enlisting together. Military time can be tough on anyone they will need all the support they can get.

Monthly Update - January

Like last year I'll be going over my art goals for 2025, but before that I wanted to talk about the state of my Patreon, as well as my storefront, commissions, and so on.

Late last year I came across a post discussing that Patreon was really supposed to be a way for people to support their favorite creators to give them the ability to make the projects they want to do. Somewhere between the beginning and now Patreon has morphed to a kind of storefront with increasing amount of incentives that became the creator's sole work instead of the projects they wanted to work on.

I definitely fell trap to this, and like so many have pointed out, it's really not sustainable for so many artists to do this. I found that out pretty quickly and I felt like trash having to pull back nearly all of my incentives and felt like I wasn't giving anything deserving of support. Unsurprisingly this didn't help my depression and anxiety at all loool.

I know I've already pulled back a lot on Patreon and other venues, largely because of health problems. I'm hoping a lot of my health issues become less in 2025 and I can get back to making things with less pain. With that in mind, I'm trying to change my mindset about Patreon in that I am going to treat it as a place people can give me monthly support and understand it is because they want to support me and not solely because they want something more. I'm hoping freeing myself from thinking these obligations exist will improve my health and art overall.

That isn't to say I won't be offering bonuses for Patrons! Free members and Discord members still receive access to all of my WIPs and wallpapers (though this is because I don't want to Glaze my WIPs all the time, so I'm putting them behind a free membership to make it harder for bots to scrape). Paid members will receive high res files and any coloring pages and digital prints I make, which I like making both of those so those will continue to happen.

I will be posting coloring pages on my Ko-Fi storefront for purchase, and I'll try to be better about uploading my designs on INPRNT and TeePublic. I actually would love to create more T-Shirt specific designs, but, you know, health and time.

At some point I do plan on reopening commissions and streaming on Twitch again. Dan has been helping with my new set up and encouraging me to get back to it, and I've been more excited about the prospect by the day. Tarkin's death still weighs pretty heavily on me, especially since I liked to have him on stream and his health decline is also why I stopped streaming last year. But we have a new puppy! By the time you're reading this Sheev Pupatine has made it to our home and we're likely franticly trying to clean up after him.

Okay will all of that business talk out of the way, let's talk art goals for 2025! Please feel free to join me in making your own creative goals for the year.

1) Continue pursing full illustrations with detailed backgrounds.

I did a little bit of this in 2024 and it's something I really want to keep pushing for because I want to join projects that usually require such things in application portfolios.

2) Keep working on body diversity.

I actually think I did really well pushing myself on this last year to the point that it feels a lot more natural to not draw tiny pale shoujo girls. My diversity could always be better, though, so I'll keep at it in any of my work that suits it.

3) Practice traditional art.

Traditional Art August gave me confidence and inspiration working with traditional media that I have been itching to get back to it. I don't know if I'll need to make another monthly event to force myself time to work on it, but I will be pretty mad at myself if I don't have at least one traditional art piece next year.

4) Rework my promo and branding material.

I've been meaning to do this for a few year, but I always put it off because it requires so much work and new art and I've just never had the headspace for any of it. I don't even know if I have the headspace for it now. I did make a new icon for myself, but I'm not sure I'm entirely happy with it. I need a new banner to match the new logo I made over a year ago. I need new commission and storefront promotional graphics. I need to finish my sprite edits for stream. I need to work on Sparkling Sweets for stream as well.

5) Learn how to make a zine and other pdf projects.

My discord agreed to help me with this and we're going to be participating in a year long creative project that I can then use as practice for creating pdf spreads. I'm pretty excited about this in general as I haven't done a collab project since the Tumblr hate group tried to drive me and others out of fandom. As long as my group keeps me accountable, I'm confident this goal will actually happen!

I hope you all had a pleasant holiday season! As foreboding as 2025 is turning out to be, I do wish the very best for us and that we survive the year largely unscathed. Thank you for being here and continuing to support me! I really wouldn't be here doing what I do without all of you.

That does really appear to be the situation and I agree lmao like it’s literally not his thing. I get that he’s very good at what he does - a lot better than Justin tbqh like Justin has a decent track record in that Five Feet Apart was a moderate BO success and Clouds was a moderate critical success but he doesn’t have Ryan’s background or experience or absolutely astounding track record. I do think if Ryan’s telling you “here’s what I think you ought to do” when you’re trying to make a hit movie, you should probably seriously consider whatever it is he’s saying. I’m just not sure why he’s saying anything at all lmao because it’s not his project. I get that maybe Blake felt things weren’t going quite right and spoke to Ryan but again idk why he’d then involve himself instead of saying like “here’s what I’d do if I were you based on X experience I had in your situation” and letting her idk sort it out herself. Like we actually know Ryan’s been in similar situations - the whole Deadpool origin story is kinda like this because nobody wanted to listen to him and he had to fucking fight people to do it his way and his way WAS the right way and fwiw I’m sure he’s fought with directors before and producers etc etc like on multiple projects he’s been involved in over his career. So I totally get him giving her advice. But I don’t understand why he’s seemingly just taken over lol and it’s funny that their side may be accusing Justin of chauvinism because taking over your wife’s thing is the definition of chauvinistic behavior lmao. You can say “baby it sucks that this guy is such an idiot” and you can say “here’s what I did in a similar situation” and frankly you can even say “baby fuck this whole project, we don’t need the money, I don’t give a shit how much you spent on it, I just want you to be happy so let’s forget about this crap and do something fun instead” but seemingly just swooping in and taking over, regardless of how much better you are at it, is not it. Also like if he wanted to be this involved, he should’ve formally helped to develop it himself and put up his money lol and then he’d be absolutely in the right. And also like if Justin was “borderline abusive” why didn’t Blake just drop out? Yk? It's kinda long but basically I got back into the concert circuit after seeing blink 182 last year at MSG and was talking to a friend about the next shows we could go to, over brunch. she mentioned fob, and me, normal at the time, said oh I know them, they make bops, that could be a fun show. I didn't even know that there was a new album. I proceeded to listen to stardust and said I *have* to see fob live. Fast forward to today, I've seen them 9.5 times (the half time is the VMA taping from Sept loool). And now I'm reading rpf, which is definitely new for me. As a wee teen I was never into bandom/rpf but I love it now. And I'm forever grateful for the friends I've met along the way!!!

Omg my MCs are so undeveloped LOOOL. I technically have 3 (one for each background) but I guess only my unnamed and alchemist actually have working personalities.

I've been biased to my unnamed so I'll talk about her.

Nava (The Unnamed)

Notable traits

Fatal flaw: cowardly to a dangerous extent. I like to think because she's used to a more comfortable life (see: the unnamed noting Lowtown as being different from what they're used to), she struggles to discern the appropriate reaction to anything threatening. Her overwhelming fear distorts her perception and can lead her or others to danger with rash decisions. I bet she'll die the most out of all my MCs hahah.

Insecure: I like to think that the priests made her feel special about her hands, and when reality came crashing down that they're actually cursed to do terrible things to people, her self-esteem crashed (gifted kid to average kid type of feeling). I like to think she was soo used to having her hands as the pillar holding her self-esteem, and now she's scrambling to feel good about herself for something. Cue being self-absorbed: she might be so busy thinking about herself that she ends up mistreating or throwing others under the bus to feel greater than she does.

Relationships

Kuras: As any unnamed, she's wary of him. The familiarity has duality however: what reminds her of being lied to also reminds her of home; so despite reservations, she finds him comfortable, in a way. The unnamed is used to cold distance like in her temple anyway (religion often causes repression, after all).

Vere: Unfortunately, she hates him. Outwardly, she can't appreciate his vulgar and aggressive nature. But once again, unfamiliarity has duality: he is so unlike what she's used to that she can't help but envy him. So crass, so vulgar. It's everything she's been taught to bury deep inside her that's growing. I think Vere's existence influences her to let out some of that, so it stops accumulating as much.

Ais: Though he's a monster, he's, ironically, maybe the one she's found herself most drawn to. Maybe having a less-than-metaphorical second sense for things has something to do with it. Despite his violence and unsettling company, she sees his sincerity. Despite being annoying (he just ditched to go drinking?!). After being lied to so much, his heart being on his sleeve is very much a breath of fresh air, and I think Ais is likely the most "canon" route she'll choose. (Ironic isn't it? With how much I obsess over Leander lol).

Mhin: She finds them intimidating, to say the least. But she can't dislike them. She has a respect for them for saving her life. Despite their attitude, she understands where they're coming from. She's grateful for any help at all, and expects no kindness from anyone. She wishes she was half as capable as them.

Leander: Of course I saved my current fave for last. Frankly? She finds him overwhelming and exhausting. He is so forward and aggressive. She likes him—far too much to be comfortable about it. He keeps making her feel to an extent where she can't find herself thinking clearly, and she abhors that (maybe only a little more than she enjoys it). She's thankful for the food and board and...enthusiasm. But she often finds herself wanting to get away from him to catch her breath.

I tried to make things as concise as possible, but yet again I ramble! Thank you so much for asking me about my OC ♡

Oh gosh, the total list is so long at this point, with various one-off kind of deals, or fandoms I've moved on from.

I am currently considering myself an active writer in these fandoms though: Shadowhunters, Percy Jackson, Detective Conan/Magic Kaito, DC Comics.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Which actually looked really fucked up because yeah sure there's four super popular multi-chapter fics of mine. And then there is My College Boyfriend, which isn't just a oneshot, it is a oneshot with under 3k words. What. What.

And the, quite frankly frustrating, part here is that this oneshot only has 24 comments. Not even every 100th reader felt the need to leave a comment. That's just... so sad. Like. Genuinely, I think the kudos system broke commenting because the convenience of pressing a button beat actually expressing yourself genuinely through words and from the bottom of my heart, I find that depressing as fuck.

5. Do you respond to comments?

Always. Every single one of them. Because comments mean something. Someone took the time to tell you, with words, that they liked your work and maybe even what they liked about it.

6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Ooof, multiple contestants from back in my day when I wrote German fics for the Beyblade fandom and wrote about... darker themes. Not all fics used to have happy endings. I wrote some fics that ended in a suicide, so I guess those.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Impossible to answer, because for as long as I've been active in English writing, all my fics have had happy endings. The guy gets the guy, the girl gets the girl, and they live happily ever after. The world is saved or the evil defeated, maybe there's even an epilogue of a next gen in there. That's my standard, it ends happily. So that makes it impossible to pick one that somehow ends happier than the rest. xD

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Right. Sorry. Yeah. Yeah, of course. Funnily enough, never on the things you would assume attract hatred - the incest, the explicitly non-con stuff.

Nah, I got death threats and words that were somehow worse than death threats on my Oliver/Felicity fics in the DC fandom... a... straight canon ship... but not the canon ship from the multiverse that these vile assholes liked, so, ya know. Threaten the fans who love a ship you hate.

Also over the years, lotta nasty general homophobia for Nico/Percy in the PJO fandom - I have been writing in this fandom since 2010, and yes, there were really a lot of people especially in the earlier years who just hated the idea of making either Percy or Nico gay.

And the dumbasses who declare Jace/Alec incest and thus hate and threaten this ships fans in the Shadowhunters fandom. But still, inexplicably, like Alec. Even though, in canon, he's the one who was in love with Jace. I don't know, but if you claim the nasty, nasty incest is The Bad Thing, I think you should hate the character with the nasty, nasty incestuous feelings, instead of the fans who write perfectly tagged and filterable fics. But that's just me, I guess.

9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?

All kinds of smut? I don't know how to answer this question, to be honest. xD

I've written oral, anal, vaginal, mlm, wlw, m/m/f, rare m/f ships but usually either she pegs or it's ABOverse and she's an alpha, I generally pepper in some flavors of BDSM into it, I've written dub-con and non-con before, bestiality, double penetrations. I have written a lot.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve ever written?

Oh, that is absolutely going to my first ever crossover. Because my usual crossovers are, ya know, that Big Four animated movie crossover verse (Tangled/Brave/HTTYD/RotG), or "I like these two fandoms, how would A's characters fit into B's world/how would B's characters fit into A's world?" for... essentially all my fandoms, and I wouldn't call any of these crazy - because the Big Four crossover is a beast of an own fandom so it's not really "original" or far out there to write for it, and in all my other crossovers, I do pride myself on making it work, like, not just throwing characters together but fitting their backstories and special powers into how the other world works.

So the craziest one is absolutely A Hundred Times Over, which is a oneshot sequel to my first-ever English-written fic and was written as a celebration because it was my 100th fic back then.

The original fic was already a crossover between Detective Conan and PJO, so for the celebration I thought "okay so what if I throw in my current obsession - Doctor Who - and my first ever ship - Shere Khan/Bagheera?". So, yeah, this crossover between Detective Conan, Percy Jackson, Doctor Who and Jungle Book has to be my craziest so far.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

So often. So, so, so, so often.

If you see my fics on watpad or any other platform that isn't AO3 or Fanfiction.net - and if you see them on those two but posted by an author that ISN'T Takara Phoenix - then please, let me know. Drop me a link wherever you can, I always greatly appreciate being told that my fics have been stolen so I can report that person and have it taken down.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

No. All of the stealing of my fics has made me incredibly uncomfortable with the idea of my fics flowing around on other people's accounts or other websites, especially since the first like four or so stolen fics I had were translated.

Someone took my fics, translated them into Spanish and Russian, and posted them on other platforms, without ever asking my permission.

I don't want thieves to more easily slip through the cracks in between authorized repostings of my stories, so I have the blanket policy to not allow translations.

(There is one story that has been translated, but I'm not sure how far it counts, because I did the translating myself, and that's Lass Uns Etwas Dummes Tun/Looking For Something Dumb to Do. It is a PJO fic about Nico/Percy that I wrote in celebration for Germany legalizing gay marriage in 2017; I wrote it in German first, due to that, and then decided to translate it into English since I know my core-audience are English-speakers and not German-speakers.)

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

We've written a total of five fics together so far.

Three Shadowhunters fics: Hurting and Healing, a Magnus/Jace oneshot, Three Times the Boys Felt Left Out, a Jordan/Simon/Jace oneshot, A King By Any Other Name, a Alec/Jace oneshot.

A Vampire Academy oneshot about Mason/Christian: The Chance at a Happily Ever After.

And, our pride and joy, our 51k multichapter Shadowhunters/Vampire Academy crossover fic about Mason/Christian and Simon/Jace: Double Puppy Dare.

14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?

That's such a hard question to answer for me as a multishipper.

But to be quite honest, I think I would have to go with Kaito/Shinichi from Detective Conan/Magic Kaito?

It's the ship I've been the most consistently been faithful to and that, whenever I see it, sparks joy. That has proven that even when the fandom's gone dormant for me for months or years, it can reignite into a wildfire, where other fandoms just fizzle out and disappear from my interests then.

These two get me, they've been getting me for one and a half decades now and I doubt they'll stop any time soon.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

All of my unfinished German fics over on Animexx. When the German Beyblade fandom started to die, I tried to cling on, but at one point... when all your favorite writers, all your friends, have moved on? And then I started reading fics in English and soon after, also writing them in English. I feel bad about it, but it's just been far too long now.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Personally, I'd say world building. That's also my passion. I love creating elaborate worlds for my stories to take place in - I mean, damn, for the book series I'm writing, I developed my own language, religion and drew a map of the city it takes place in, among other things. A well-developed world is so important.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Oh, fight scenes and action and other things that...

When a character is good at a thing that I am not good in or know a lot about?

Like, when a character is super quippy and funny, but I am not really a one-liners-person so now I have to come up with quippy one-liners to capture his personality?

Or fighting or science, when a character is an expert in a field that I know nothing about and would not understand jackshit about even if I tried because it's not my wheelhouse? Those things, I really struggle with.

Also, I hate action and fight scenes. Like. That's the parts when I check my phone usually to avoid that my eyes glaze over from boredom. So, naturally, writing these things? Not fun. Not good at it either, imo. But certain fics - or rather, certain characters too - require action and fight scenes.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

Painful if you have to use Google Translate. If you know the language? Yeah, go for it! If you have to resort to Google Translate? Maybe just write it in italics and note that it's in x language. It spares both, the native speakers who will die from second hand embarrassment, and the non-speakers who... won't understand it anyway.

But in the cases that I use foreign languages (and usually when I do, it's just... pet-names. Things you can't really fuck up that much and things that people would say in another language even in English-main-dialogues), I always put the translation right behind the sentence, because it's a special brand of obnoxious when you have to scroll ALL the way to the end of a chapter or fic to see what tf you just read, and then scroll back up again.

Hate doing that, so I won't do that to my readers.

19. First fandom you ever wrote for?

Oh, that's Yu-Gi-Oh!, with a hurt/comfort Kaiba/Joey fic.

20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?

Can't answer that, it always depends on my current mood which of my babies I love the most ;P
