Tim Drake really is the Robin of all time. like, so much so that even when the mantle has technically fallen to someone else. he is still Robin. his Robin design defined the animated Robins. Teen Titans Robin has a bo staff because Tim has a bo staff. Young Justice Robin is a hacker because Tim is a hacker. Both are technically Dick Grayson, but wear pants because Tim does. Under the Red Hood Robin dies in Tim's red and black Robin suit

And sure, you could say this is because Tim was the comics Robin in the '90s and early '00s when DC animation got off the ground, but ALSO

He's the only one who chose to be Robin simply for the sake of being Robin. Bruce created the Robin mantle to give Dick a healthy outlet for his anger and grief. He let Steph have it because Tim couldn't at the time. He gave it to Jason and Damian thinking it would save them from themselves. Duke used it as a tool to inspire the city

But Tim Drake knocked on Batman's door, without precedence or experience, and all but told him that he was the new Robin. He didn't need to. He didn't have to. He didn't even know Bruce yet. But he believed so strongly in Robin that he came to define what it meant to be him, to the point that it has bent the past to accommodate him

cassie sandsmark star jorts from issue #23 of yj98 you have always been famous to me

I made these jorts in 22 hours over the course of 3 days! pure willpower via my love for cassie sandsmark because I am a total novice in sewing and i am still not very good at it. (i really just combined various tutorials and improvised on measurements and then regretted improvising measurements later on).

I thrifted these jeans last year for cassie vibes (even though I had already made her star-spangled red bellbottoms at that point) and wasn't a fan of how they fit + I couldn't figure out how to style them. I enjoyed sewing in the panels to flare them out and then everything else (cargo pockets and sewing in stars) was hell <3

the pockets are not placed well (nor are they particularly well-made), the hem is uneven, the stars are quite janky (and I think I stitched on too many), I probably stabbed my fingers a million times, and I am so in love with them

trying to figure out how to say this delicately. i do think that the pwhl is going to make some progress, and already the support for the league is showing how much of a market there is for women's sports even from a few years ago. but it's kind of been irking me to see so many posts that act like there has never been any arena for women's pro hockey before. like do you understand how many people — how many leagues!! — came before this to even make the pwhl a possibility. do you know how many people have fought tooth and nail for women's pro hockey for DECADES. i'm not saying don't support the league, but don't act like it's the perfect solution to a brand new issue

looking back at steven universe and god. that show had such good diversity in their designs that very few animated shows before or since it have had. like there's the obvious diversity in race and weight representation but also just like. all the different body shapes and hair types and facial features. all of which were depicted without being a shorthand for a character being Gross And Comically Ugly (or worse, evil). like i think watching that show in my teen years (which are like. peak years for developing body based insecurities) was good for my self esteem. because with pretty much any trait that i had that i was made to feel bad about, there would be a character from my favourite show that had that trait.
