WARDI WRITTEN LANGUAGE (BASICS).
Couya's full name (properly 'Haidamane Couya') written formally and with common handwriting conventions.
The Wardi written language derives from earlier proto-language systems consisting exclusively of logograms without direct phonetic meaning or grammatical structure. These symbols gradually became simplified and abstracted to the point of many having little intrinsic clarity, and combined to communicate abstract concepts.
The development of a full written language did not occur independently (as very few written languages do), and its phonetic elements (namely its use of syllabograms) were largely derived the 'ancient' Burri writing system, gradually synthesized with native writing conventions, and in the contemporary forms a wholly distinct system. The language's Relatively universalized form is a very recent phenomena, developing within the past two centuries with the region's conquering/unification into a single entity.
The contemporary written language is a mixture of logograms and syllabograms. It is read from right to left and arranged in horizontal columns. The most formal variant of this system contains each character within a square outline, usually separated by a small space. This outline confers little phonetic or symbolic information beyond making distinction between syllables exceptionally clear, and can be (and often is) omitted in handwriting. The separation of words is conveyed through a narrow rectangle or line in formal contexts, and again often omitted in handwriting (instead indicated instead by a wider blank space).
The pure logograms that have been retained in this writing system tend to be those of very common words or specific concepts (most logogram characters for types of livestock, key crops, water, major body parts, etc are widely recognized and in common use). There has not yet been any attempts to fully 'formalize' the language and omit potentially unnecessary logograms, and they remain frequently used as shorthand while conveying the same semantic information.
Many of the syllabogram characters are directly derived from logograms that depicted monosyllabic words. For example, the spoken word 'gan' means 'cow', and the character for the syllable 'gan' is identical to the common logogram for 'cow'.
The name Gantoche (literally "cow-eye") could be written either fully with syllabograms as:
or through logograms as:
Both ultimately communicate the same meaning, but the former clarifies pronunciation (the words gan and atoche are contracted, it's gantoche and not gan-atoche).
It is a relatively easy written language to learn, as the pure syllabogram characters indicate their own pronunciation with little ambiguity and often have consistency to their construction (ie the character for the syllable 'man' contains most of the same elements as that for the syllable 'wan'- the dot placement in particular has indication of the vowel sounds).
The inclusion of logograms in general and many of the syllabic characters being directly imported From logograms complicates matters. These characters lack visual consistency, and can be confusing to the large swath of the public who know common logograms but not the full written language itself. Ie: the word 'ungande' meaning 'liver' will be composed of logogram-derived syllable characters for 'un' (which alone means 'hand') and 'gan' (which alone means 'cow'). Someone who is only semi-literate in common logograms may be confused at the meaning, especially since these same exact same characters may be used elsewhere on their own to indicate 'hand' or 'cow'.
One major exception to this tendency is that current religious doctrine requires established logogram characters describing God to be used in place of syllabic characters. The word for god is 'Od', and has its own unique character (as do each of the Faces, the capital F 'Face', and Its deified pronoun). The syllable 'od' [oʊd] is very common in the Wardi language, and a wholly separate character is used for the phonetic sound when it is not a reference to the deity (ie 'lion' (odo [oʊdoʊ]) does not contain the same character for God in spite of its first syllable having the exact same pronunciation). Names are a bit of a gray area (ie: the name 'Odabi' is very common and carries the meaning of 'gift/blessing from God'). Religious leadership is currently experiencing a mild schism on whether the written character for God is separated due to being wholly sacrosanct (and thus inappropriate to include in the written form of a personal name) or as more of a functional delineation of the sacred and mundane.
#Not 100% sure I'm using the ipa phonetic alphabet correctly but. I tried. Also typoed 'left to right' for direction for a hot minute there#Definitely chose a bit of a pain in the ass language system since there's going to be like a couple hundred possible characters (not#counting logograms) but could be worse. Also it has less total consonant sounds than english does like no V or Z and I don't#Think I've had anything with θ ð ʃ or ʒ. It does have the 'ts' sound as in 'tsetse' which I don;t think exists in english and#there's also some dental clicks. But the latter is mostly used as a filler sound or to emphasize certain words and doesn't convey#any linguistic information beyond that#I don't really intend to make this fully fleshed out I just want to be able to depict writing and have it actually mean something#Also mostly unrelated but I just found out I've been fucking up when I've referred to 'rolled Rs' in the Highlands/North Wardi dialects#The sound is a alveolar tap in most words rather than an alveolar trill (which is what 'rolled Rs' generally implies I think???)#Like I had been PRONOUNCING it all correctly at least but referring to it wrong. Brakul's name has an alveolar tap on the R#As do most of the R sounds with some exceptions#The only alveolar trill sounds in these languages typically occur with adjacent syllables that end and start with an R. Like the#name 'Korrigh' would have an alveolar trill

Ok, I'm alive (barely) so Jared question storytime !
So I'm including this as context because it's why I feel a little 😧 about the answer he ended up giving (not in a bad way just like I was a little shocked re his answer).
So the person 2 questions before me (I think they were the 2nd question overall) asked a REALLY inappropriate question to both of them that was "which of your childhood traumas left the deepest scar" which I'm sure you can imagine pretty much everyone in the hall was little jesus christ when they heard that. Anyways Jared and Misha handled it very well, much better than I ever could, but for obvious reasons basically didn't answer the question.
THEN they started screening questions beforehand and I was like 😬 idk if I can ask mine now but I can't think on my feet enough to ask a different one and I assured the steward that I was asking purely about Jared's acting approach.
Anyways so I went and asked my question, I did slip in a kinda jokey apology that I didn't know someone would ask that right before me lol.
So I started my question by saying how wonderful his portrayal of Sam as a trauma survivor was and I thanked him for how much care he put into it and said it was very important to me and to so many people and then just said thank you again.
And I barely remember what he looked like what I was speaking during this bit because I was blacking out hahaha but I'm 90% certain he did that really sweet sincere face and clutched his hands over his heart and ahfgchfghbb.
Anyways then I asked him specifically about how when Sam flinches at sudden noises/violence he often looks embarrassed/ashamed about his reaction and I said that obviously he shouldn't have to feel that way but that it rang very true to life/to Sam in specific. And I asked if that was something that was in the script or if it was something he thought was how Sam would react/was that something he'd intentionally brought to his portrayal of Sam's trauma.
And he said it was a great question. And was like yes, it was absolutely intentional, and I think he said a little bit about his thought behind it which I do not remember cause again, blacking out, lmao.
Anyways, then he kinda referenced the terrible childhood trauma question, and then said that when he was a kid there was a drive-by shooting outside of his house, and that even though everyone in his family was ok it had really affected him, and that he was hyper vigilant, super reactive to noise, really jumpy etc and had had to have therapy to help with it. And basically kinda said that he'd used that a bit with Sam.
And he thanked me for the question again and for sharing that that aspect of Sam was important to me.
So yeah I was a bit like idk if he would have gone that direction if the other question hadn't been asked and it made me feel a little bit like oh I hope he didn't think I expected him to give such a personal answer. But on the other hand he didn't answer that other question, but then did tell that story in answer to my question so I have to assume that my question made him feel more comfortable than the previous one did.
#if anyone sees this who was there and i got anything wrong please remember i was like barely on this plane of existence in his presence haha#I'm sure u understand#but also I'm like 99.9% certain this is pretty accurate#the basic content of the response 100% is#Vic goes to CC#Jared on Sam#there won't be any video I'm afraid they don't allow it at all

Damn you’re delusional. The second a luigi supporter is accepting and is aware he committed the crime, you libtards are quick to say we’re licking boots and not real supporters. Luigi would hate you guys. Alright, I’ll see you in the future when he isn’t with us or when he gets convicted, sadly.
you anon i need you to both hold your horses and hold your vicious tongue. i'll spell this out for you since you have worse reading comprehension than the average person on the piss poor reading comprehension website.
even if Luigi himself says he did it, he deserves a fair trial. he deserves to be presumed innocent. because both of these are rights afforded to him by the constitution of his country. and because even if he did in fact do it, he hasn't said that and he has pleaded not guilty, the prosecution has to actually prove he is guilty beyond any reasonable doubt. and from what we know of the evidence there's plenty of reasonable doubt. moreover Luigi has nowhere not for a single second tried to kill himself. if he had indeed done it and he wanted to kill himself, he had to have had plenty of time before he got arrested – five whole days in fact. he has never shown himself to want to be a martyr or a symbol of a resistance movement that the people of his country can't even organize properly/very effectively. if he did want to make himself a symbol or a martyr like the way you want him to be, he could have simply given himself up to the authorities after the deed was done. he could have confessed everything to the cops, then or at the time of his arrest or anytime in between or even in the future. but that hasn't happened and that won't happen. Luigi and his legal team are fighting the charges and will continue fighting the charges until it ends with him being killed by the death penalty (extremely unlikely at NY), or rotting in prison because of LWOP, or getting acquitted due to a number of reasons. moreover he does not want to die and has clearly shown that he in fact wants to live, and it doesn't matter if he did it or not. he should be able to live. his right to life should not be taken away from him. it is the most fundamental of all human rights. death penalties are the most barbaric tools still kept alive in the modern society to enforce organised violence from the people in power. Luigi also deserves the right to live properly, not just survive somehow in LWOP. because like people like you think, he did it but you support him for it. so clearly you should also be wanting him to be free and to be able to live the life that he wants to live?? but of course not. y'all are dumb that way. also making Luigi a martyr or a symbol of a revolution that will probably never happen (at least not in a country like USA where there has never been a successful revolution in history because the majority population does not know how to organise at all) is absolutely useless. Luigi would lose his life for nothing. the dumbass population which would benefit from his alleged actions (and are already benefitting now) does not really care whether he lives or dies. and most importantly, like i said, he doesn't even want to die, he's never wanted to die. even in prison, he's written in a letter that the lorax is such a fundamental story that it “will be so critical to read to my kids”. the quoted part is me directly quoting that letter word by word by the way. so like how dare you want to take away his life all while saying you support him?? if you truly wanted to support him you'd understand that the letter of the law doesn't matter for his case even if he did it, only the spirit of the law matters and anybody on the jury should judge his case only by their hearts and not their heads. and since you seem to be the sort to think that the letter of the law is an absolutely fundamental aspect and nothing else can come out of it, you seem to be the libtard to me, the sort of person who'd say well he murdered a man and i can never justify it so he should die, an eye for an eye. let me tell you anon, an eye for an eye only works until everybody is blind. and everybody would soon become blind if an eye for an eye is actually followed everywhere in real life. also because you seem to be too dumb to understand a lot of things about how the law actually works, i'd request you to find out what is jury nullification and exactly how it works, you of all people need to learn that lesson because you seem to not at all understand the concept of laws without morals being useless.
#also i'm pretty sure Luigi would hate you more for wanting him dead :) you sound just as bad as Bondi to me so do with that what you will#and even if you didn't understand what i meant by all this i'll just say one more thing#Luigi has a real chance of walking he just needs the right conditions and the law to be followed appropriately#no jury in their right minds would give an unanimous guilty verdict for him#he will definitely escape the death penalty something which shouldn't have been used for him in the first place if laws were actually#followed properly but since it isn't he's facing the chances of the death penalty#also since the death penalty is out of the way realistically the only question is whether he can successfully snake his way into#an acquittal because LWOP is just as bad as the death penalty for a person like him and we know that can happen under the right#circumstances too but we also need to authorities to stop trying to screw him in all directions we can only wait and see if that happens#also since you said sadly at the end maybe if you mend your manners a bit you can become a welcome guest in my inbox anon :)#but for now with your sour tongue and bitter words i'd prefer if you stayed away#and if you're truly scared of the death penalty and came off the wrong way then i can only thank god that the death penalty announcement is#working and by working i mean it's working in his favour and working to protect him effectively#because if y'all are scared shitless like this then yes if y'all make it to the jury he'll 100% walk off if everybody is like you too#asks

When it comes to shipping or relationships in general in fic, if the characters are well defined and compelling in canon I don't care whether they actually have an established relationship dynamic or obvious reason to be hanging out. It's really fun to throw two guys together and think about how their neuroses would bounce of each other. What shared experiences they might connect over. What their mutual relationships might reveal.
Dunmeshi is this times 100 for me bc like even the smallest interactions characters do have are so rich and compelling. Almost every character has a backstory that could be a whole story unto itself. The layers of their histories and motivations are so rich and fascinating and fun to pick apart. I reread like 10 pages of one chapter and now my mind is spinning about Mithrun and Marcille and what they would think of each other at various points in the story and in post-canon. What they would do if thrown together in a crisis. How they could support each other or tear each other down.
Anyway this is part of why I think its so silly when I see people like complaining about certain ships bc characters don't interact much or don't interact romantically or whatever. The ingredients are here for a hundred different delicious feasts. What's wrong with getting a little silly with it.
#this is just my tastes of course but at least for dunmeshi I would loooove to see more weird ships. I want to see ao3 tags and go#HMM. OKAY. EARN IT FOR ME#like don't get me wrong I do have my opinions and things I'll never click in a 100 years#but like yeah sure have fun with it. I'm not gonna tell anyone they are dumb for caring

So I actually sat down to watch the BBC special of TT Boybands Forever cause I was really interested after the way Robbie talked about Gary being stitched up and also I just love watching this kinda stuff just finished the Boyzone Documentary. Let's just say I have thoughts - I'm going to put them in the tags (and I had a lot of thoughts). I'd say it's worth watching yourself and making your own opinion.
#Take That#Robbie Williams#Gary Barlow#okay sooooo#robbie saying gary was “stitched” up was a choice#because if they made Gary look bad it's because of robbie#Robbie 'stitched' Gary up#the first negative thing that is shown about Gary was from Robbie himself and it's a downward spiral from there#also it's an interesting choice for BBC to only interview Robbie and Nigel#idk man don't get me wrong I will forever love Robbie#childhood crush#but he's actively destroying the relationship he build with the lads for money and more fame#all those years of saying Garry was the fame hungry one and the one track minded one#but anyone who has followed Robbie's career esp lately will know that's always been kinda him#Robbie saying BBC made Gary look arrogant yeah they did#and the first one to imply that was you Robbie#the first thing Robbie say's about Garry is “He wasn't nice to me” and “he was arrogant”#and sure maybe BBC went along with it#but who set that narrative into motion Robbie?#I can't tell if he genuinely can't see it or it's an act because it's 100% up to him what he wants to say and he can what he likes#but then why pretend why not just own it? it's like going and saying Oasis were bullies in the 90s#true#but let's not pretend like you weren't in the 90s#and this isn't a hate train against Robbie#i'm just trying really hard to understand his mindset#on the one he's still saying he'd love to work with TT and Gary and then on the other his actively doing stuff like this#And Robbie always makes a beeline for Gary#like talk about someone else#like Robbie spends the entire interview talking badly about Gary and then wonders why BBC included it for views

The more I look into it, the more nervous I get because high masking late diagnosed lady autism is sounding WAY too relatable.
I have got to really push for that diagnosis. I need to know if I've been autistic this whole dang time or if there's something else going on with me.
#I don't know why I'm so nervous#If I have it then it would explain so much about my life#if I don't have it then I'm back at square one#I don't feel comfortable self diagnosing#I'm not going to claim that unless I'm 100% sure#but I dunno#feels like I'm on the edge of a huge mental and emotional breakthrough#but I don't want to get too excited incase I'm on the wrong track#anyway#personal stuff

Not sure if there's anything official- based only on a vaguely similar shape and location and seemingly supported by the map pictures released by Dreamworks TV recently, would Yaz's island be Frank Island in Yellowstone National Park? Only for JWE2 building reference purposes 😁
It's possible it was used for some visual inspiration, but I think the EXACT location in Wyoming was probably meant to be a little vague, as a fictional location.
#jurassic world chaos theory#I didn't even know what part of Wyoming it was supposed to be exactly until DW released those maps#the only locations I knew for sure were Darius's cabin in the Lake Tahoe area#Sammy's ranch in the Texas hill country area#Brooklynn's apartment was originally supposed to be near Denver I think or at least at one point I was told Denver#because I actually picked the location of the drop off point in Oklahoma on the map and I tried to calculate a spot they could reach in tim#and then the last location I knew vaguely was the port somewhere off the coast of Louisiana haha#jurassic world#chaos theory#jwct#ask#it's usually better not to get too specific with fictional locations unless they're like... landmarks that everyone knows#also as a Texan I can't believe Sammy allowed Ben to take the I 10 all the way down the wrong way to San Antonio#And THEN the I-35 through Dallas and Norman on the way to Colorado#not only is that the long way#but it's also a truly AWFUL drive during rush traffic LOL#the correct route would have been to take highway 83 out of Junction and then make your way up to Amarillo and onward#Anyway this is just to say whoever put together the DW maps probably just used major interstates to loosely locate things#i'm not convinced they're 100% accurate

The art style of Cloud Castle is absolute ass bro why are their eyes so big
Idk man it just looks.... off
I wish they brought back the og art style like Blue Scarab Hunt because that was gorgeous
Well if you’re referring to the book's artstyle as a whole, then calm down buddy the illustrations as a whole are pretty good all things considered (believe me some of the illustrations in the later books are waaaaayyyyy iffier)
But if you are referring to Danilo Barozzi’s illustrations in the book then uhhhhh… yeah I don’t blame you, I didn’t like the big anime irises either, she didn’t cook with this one,,,

The interesting thing is Barozzi also did pieces for Secret of the Snow and those looked fine (she did well enough that I have to squint to determine which ones were done by her). My guess is either she did a lot of the illustrations for the latter half of SotS and we just got used to it, or it’s because the artstyle of special editions 2 and 3 were more… experimental? Books 4 onwards developed a very specific… look for the artstyle that adhered very closely to the main book illustrations of Spanish Dance Mission onwards, thus the illustrators had to follow suit, resulting in whatever looks off to look especially off.

(Even with this set of pictures, I’m only about 70% sure these are Barozzi’s because of how alike yet different the styles are from each other in the book. The first one could be Barozzi’s, but it could also be Giuseppe Facciotto’s, since he also did illustrations for SotS and his stylization means he sometimes puts the eyes really close to each other in a way that’s weird but still makes sense somehow.) On the contrary, books 2 and 3 (and I would probably even include book 1 there) had a more experimental look to the illustrations, which seems to be based more on (and this is just a theory of mine) Giuseppe Facciotto’s iconic work for the covers of Mouseford Academy books 2-12, 14, 15 and 17 in the English books (he did waaayyy more covers for the Italian Mouseford books— he was basically the cover guy for the Mouseford books for a WHILE) as well as the books from Spanish Dance Mission to Lost Letters. If you’re wondering why those covers go as hard as they do, then now you know why.

(These aren’t all of Facciotto’s works for the covers we know in English but you can see that he popped off <3)
But yeah as you can see with special editions 2 and 3, the art direction seems to be heavily inspired by Facciotto’s artstyle.
However, when Barbara Pellizzari’s works became the aesthetic poster child of the books’ brand, that was reflected in the illustrations and how their aesthetic changed, as seen in the main books and how they look currently, special editions 4-9, and the Treasure Seekers trilogy.
This new profile thing of the girls? This was done by Pellizzari (coloring was done by Flavio Ferron), and thus it became the main reference for how the girls look in the book’s illustrations.

And it’s not just in the general direction to the artists for how to draw the Thea Sisters, but also in the direction given to the colorists. Alessandro Muscillo was the colorist for the special edition books since book 1 and the Treasure Seekers trilogy, and you can see that the direction for the style varied through books 1-3, like maybe direction was experimenting with the mood the illustrations were to convey, beginning with the cartoony and bright colors of book 1, easing into the more grounded and layered palettes of books 2 and 3
Then book 4 was when they transitioned to using digital art /j
I jest, but seriously book 4 was the debut of the coloring style we end up keeping for the rest of the special editions and for all of Treasure Seekers, which is very… bright :D
(I would show more picture examples but I manually took pictures of my physical copies for the Cloud Castle and SotS illustrations and gwuh I’m too lazy to grab my entire collection just to take pictures,,)
Bright as in like… the colors are very defined and saturated. I dunno how to describe it, but when you see it, you get what I mean. It’s very bright and pretty and colorful and it stands out. There are still variations that happen on occasion (Star Fairies in particular uses a good dose of airbrush for the lighting and shadow effects, and Crystal Fairies looks like someone had a bit of fun using sparkle brushes), but other than that, it’s very bright. I don’t hate it, but I do acknowledge that yeah, if I was introduced to the series when it had fully transitioned to the new style, I never would’ve gotten into the series in the first place, because the older books had something that didn’t make it feel specifically catered to girls. The colors were bright, but not too bright. Colorful, but unified. They weren’t that complicated, and they didn’t have to be because the colorists (plural, there were at least 3 per book once upon a time) were popping the hell off with the colors they were given. But y’know, the newer books’ consistent style did give me a good spot to practice drawing mouse furries so I’m not complaining too much about the newer style, haha.
(Tiny baby E’s (it’s literally from 2020 what’re you on about mate) her first mouse Violet drawing using Barbara Pellizzari’s artstyle in Treasure Seekers 1 as an anatomy guide!!)
With that said tho, yeah I miss the old books -m- dunno if it’d fit the aesthetic of the special editions but m a n we could’ve had it and it probably would’ve looked cool
Also the illustrations go way harder in the older books, like Prince's Emerald? I've talked about Prince's Emerald and how it goes hard before, and I still stand by it and say that it does in fact still go hard
Maybe it won't fit the uh splash of color they gave the hardcovers, but imagine they grabbed Giulia Basile's coloring work for the graphic novels and used that as sort've a basis for the coloring style of the hardcovers. Not exactly the same-- would probably still add a touch of whimsical watercolor and/or paint to the very cel-shaded style, but we could've had something pretty dope -m-
Anyway that's my ramble simultaneously defending the hardcovers' artstyle and reminiscing on what could've been haha
#geronimo stilton#thea stilton#thea sisters#questions with e#rambles#the style of the older books is gorgeous but the main thing I'm wondering is can it pull off fantastical whimsy#that's the main thing i dunno if it can do (i would love to be proven wrong tho)#the style is so grounded that i'm wondering if it can pull off what the hardcovers needed it to do#which is convey the otherworldly fantastical thrill of exploring the fantasy worlds (which uh the newer books were able to do but#my main gripe is that fantasy and reality are near indistinguishable in vibes coloring-wise#sure there are sparkles and stuff is more saturated but the girls' dorm in book 4 still has the same-ish feel of the land of clouds#i dunno what it is. the bright colors just feel mundane somehow and don't take a shift when returning to reality)#looked at my books again and i think it might be the fact that the later books have no grounding color?#compare book 3 to book 5 and you'll see it the most distinctly methinks#the newer coloring style doesn't have a color that grounds the illustrations' palettes and thus everything's always bright 100% of the time#the girls' colors are always at their most saturated#like they're always under broad daylight in terms of lighting#it's not eyebleeding or anything but they don't look affected by the lighting in the setting they're currently in#and the result is it looks.... meh?#we get so used to the bright colors that they end up looking meh somehow#i'm not an art expert by any means this is just my observations as someone with a little too much brainrot

oh yeah, dead cells immortalis thoughts now that i'm caught up
it's. kinda mid 😔 but it has its moments, so i'm not really upset about it. i'm just gonna try my best to enjoy it for what it is, and it's entertaining enough that that's not too hard for me to do.
(i mean ofc i'm upset about things regarding. yknow. the motion twin/evil empire stuff. but that's a different can of worms, i'm just talking about the show itself, meta stuff aside.)
#ghost town... 2!#dead cells#dead cells immortalis#personally i'm kinda viewing it through the lens of “relatively high budget fan-made au series” and that makes it a lot more fun#it's very different from the game canon so i'm sure it's supposed to be an au anyways#and in a weird way i'm hoping this is 100% what the series was always supposed to be from the start#rather than the whole uh. you know. controversy situation impacting the show's quality#i know the show's real art style was hinted at in the teaser trailer so at least that seems to have been planned before things got weird#on that note i'm now kinda less of the opinion “i wish the show looked like the trailers”#and more “i wish the teaser trailer didn't look completely different than what the show's actual art style was gonna be” lol#like i know it's just a teaser trailer but it gave A LOT of people the wrong impression

i've been musing on why i'm still finding it so difficult to commit to exploring luocha as a muse, and i think i've settled on the main reason why i continue to stall dipping into his character. it comes down to an issue i've always struggled with, something i've always admired other people's ability to do, and that is: diving deep into a character that is not yet fully (or even partially) developed within their canon.
i have always found it difficult to start building on a muse when i know there's still lore and development to come, and i know that's at least in part due to not wanting to be totally wrong about that character's personality, their background, their motives, etc. this is not helped by the fact that the one time i did attempt this (gallagher).... yeah, everything was completely wrong. and whilst i was able to save everything i'd started building by just going "fuck it, canon divergent it is" that time, i... seem hesitant to repeat the experience.
this is why i'm reluctant to start using a muse before their canon is established (other examples being jiaoqiu, obsidian, anaxa) or is still very much a large question mark waiting to be explored, and why interactions with muses that are still relatively new in their source material will be much sparser than muses that are very well established. i think there's something about the 'blank state' element that stalls me - because it's not going to remain blank, and there's a good chance that any thought out metas or ideas i have for them are going to be turned upside down somewhere down the line. i think i just need the stability and security of established canon before i can start really building on my interpretation of that character. it's why i generally like to wait until we see a character in game (or their relevant media) before i tackle any interactions for them, just so i have an established foundation to build upon. and luocha........ well, we know basically nothing about this man. there is no foundation (or at the very least, it's a very unstable one-)
but lauri, aren't you taking this silly roleplay thing a little too seriously here? hi, i'm a chronic overthinker and definitely not as confident in my portrayals as you might think (this is me stating a fact, not seeking reassurances!), so i do hesitate before i let myself dig into a 'blank slate' muse. the only time i happily unleash myself upon a blank slate muse is when i know they won't be getting much, if any, further development (examples being menogias, vautrin, guthred, etc).
i'd hoped cutting off any and all hi3 connections to luocha would help me feel more comfortable poking around in his head (bc i am not opening that door even if canon decides to shove it in my face later on) but i'm still struggling. i do still want to write him, otherwise i think i would have taken him off the list already, so i think i just need to kick my own ass into just... writing something for him.
anyway, this entire rambling post just to say: the fear of being wrong is the main reason i hesitate and stall developing new muses & i really do admire the people that can do this bc my brain simply cannot conceive of the idea
#;forever yelling into the abyss (ooc)#( i do also think there's an element there of not being confident enough in the *lore* of certain things )#( bc a lot of the muses i find myself hesitant with initially *are* hsr characters )#( i'm much more clued in to genshin lore (in comparison that is) so it's... more comfortable? i guess? )#( but like. even ratio who has some strong foundations to build from. i've barely used bc there's still a fair bit we don't know )#( that's not the only reason but it's definitely a factor )#( the 'fear of being wrong' is a huge thing i struggle with in general bc being wrong & looking like an idiot go hand in hand in my brain )#( and as a former 'gifted child' looking like an idiot is still the Worst Thing In The World to my dumbass brain )#( listen. i fckn fact-check things i 100% know to be accurate. just in case )#( i can recite all the dwarves' names from the hobbit without thinking but my brain would still want me to google it to be sure )#( ANYWAY i'll stop rambling in the tags of this already rambling post )
