I love your takes, but I feel super, super lost with what you were trying to say about the natalism one. I feel like you're saying that there is no contradiction on wanting more babies, a higher population number and punishing mothers, but can you elaborate on that a bit more, because it does seems contradictory. I'm not disagreeing with you, I just want to understand it better.
alright there's a perennial debate (on here but also in a wider cultural sense) that goes on where people start noticing that some of the ways in which we socially and economically de/value children, parenthood, and specifically motherhood are internally contradictory. how can it be that there is immense social and economic pressure to heterosexually partner and reproduce, and yet most public and social infrastructure is also profoundly hostile to children and their guardians? why is it that this person couldn't find a doctor to perform a voluntary hysterectomy because their bodily preferences were subordinated to the medical valorisation of their fertility, and yet this other person was forcibly sterilised or coerced into using contraception because the prospect of them reproducing is framed as socially destabilising and degenerative? how are 'family values' touted by politicians who openly and explicitly also hate real existing families? do they want people to have more children or fewer? is it more counterculture and rebellious to have children or to not have children? to have sex or to not have sex? to partner off? to be polyam or monogamous?
the answer broadly speaking is that the oppositions people see here are only surface-level. the bourgeois state's interest is in biopower, and this produces competing demands: for some people to partner off and reproduce, and for others to be exterminated. the valorisation of the white middle-class nuclear family is the same as the devalorisation of its negations: racialised people, disabled people, family arrangements other than nuclear and heterosexual, etc. you can't understand the demand that people reproduce if you don't understand it is necessarily also accompanied by the demand that other people don't. these aren't actually contradictory once you understand that what the bourgeois state wants has nothing to do with your individual behaviours and everything to do with how many 'desirable' bodies it has at its disposal. that economic consideration is what creates both the natalist policy meant to encourage [some people's] reproduction, and the exterminatory policy meant to suppress and eradicate [other people's] reproduction.
usually this kind of conversation very quickly devolves into a privilege framework argument, where people are trying to find some kind of social hierarchy that is hegemonically applied top-down and that rewards, universally, certain behaviour choices over others. again, the "people who marry and reproduce are privileged and socially rewarded over me #childfree" versus "actually some people still have to fight tooth and nail to even get medical support / approval to have children, let alone actually get access to the kind of economic and social support necessary to raise them" debate. it's smoke and mirrors because there is no universal privileging of the choice to have children or not have children. what there is, is a privileging of certain people on the basis of the economic assessment of them as biological assets, and the inverse (and mutually constitutive) devaluations of everyone else. really over-discussed examples here but to give them anyway: this is why, for example, french natalist policy and the USA's constant efforts to strip back welfare-net policies in order to harm (primarily) black families are both arising from the same basic impulses of two imperialist nation-states. obviously there are different histories and contextual factors that have resulted in france and the US trying to skin the same cat in different ways. but what they share is an underlying interest in trying to shore up their population in both size and 'fitness', understood here in its full racialised and eugenic meaning.

"[...]Trying to replace those songs feels like breaking into somebody's house and pasting your face into their family photo album. But, Mortis asked me if I was interested, and, given that his game really inspired me, and he's a super nice guy... I decided I would try my best to help. I attempted to match the game's "style" by aiming for idiosyncrasy and atmosphere over everything else. I think the results are pretty cool. I also was assigned... the normal battle theme. I'm gonna be honest, just feels like I got assigned to take a bullet in the back for everybody else. I looked up almost every jazz song from the 1920s, I commissioned Carlos to make an entire fake jazz song for me so I could cut it up into samples, I tried making like 6 entirely different songs, but nothing I could come up with on my own felt quite right. In the end, I summoned Camellia to help me out by re-remixing my first track into multiple versions, and so ultimately I think it will feel pretty cool as you go through the game. is working on the new soundtrack to OFF
Tumblr media
hang on the interview with them is actually interesting
What did you think about composing some tracks for the new soundtrack? Well, it's a complicated feeling. Let me clarify. Obviously, Fangamer and Mortis wanted to use the original soundtrack. They tried to reach out to the composer, ACC, to get the rights to use it... but ultimately, he felt nervous about signing anything and disappeared. However, he has stated that he doesn't mind that his music isn't being used, and he has no problem with the new soundtrack. So, it's a bit weird, but everything is chill. That being said, OFF is a very atmospheric and memorable game, and the soundtrack contributed a lot to that. It's an integral part of the memories that people have built of this game. Trying to replace those songs feels like breaking into somebody's house and pasting your face into their family photo album. But, Mortis asked me if I was interested, and, given that his game really inspired me, and he's a super nice guy... I decided I would try my best to help. To ensure that new players, even if they didn't get the exact same experience, would get a pretty cool one. I ended up handling a lot of boss tracks. Love the remark about "assigned to take a bullet" because for fucking real, imagine being a game music composer and being asked to make a new "Pepper Steak"
for people who are not Certified Game Likers, it's like being asked to make a new version of The Fifth Element. nothing you do will replace the original and most likely you were heavily influenced by its existence, so what do you even do?

Hey, its me again, surprise, it turns out I'm having even more thoughts about "killing the Villain"!
Namely that is can also result in boring/flat villainsand/or stories quite regularly.
To keep with the Star Wars Example: We tend to have no issue with Palpatine getting killed, because he barely is a Character. He has very little screentime, and whenever we see him he is either cackling evily, ordering the heroes deaths, or shooting lightning at the heroes.
Thats it.
We learn nothing about him, his background, his motivations, his reasons or anything about him as a person really, he is less a character and more a plotpoint.
And I'd argue that that is on purpose, because that makes it harder and less likely for us to emphatize with him or see him as human. He is just this super evil asshole, so him dieing feels like it "doesnt count".
If you want to justify someones death, just make them so purely over the top evil without any real reason for that apart from "is evil and/or crazy" that that is the only thing anyone will ever care about.
This can even work with characters you dont kill, see The Joker in DC Comics. He is literally so death immune that the goddamn trope is named after him despite being just the fucking worst.
Because by being the worst, Batmans moral integrity in NOT killing him is emphasized and, whenever someone starts the old "Batman should kill (at least the Joker)" debate again, the debate actually feels evenhanded, despite the fact that it really shouldn't. The pro-killing side only has arguments as long as the Joker is completely insanely evil and also immune to consequences of any and all kind.
Which, I would argue, makes the Joker a less interesting Character, because the hand of the author becomes VERY visible in some of those moments.
Point being, It's easier to kill or argue on favor of killing characters that are barely characters so you often end up with shallow or uninteresting characters because its easier to write that without having to deal with all those moral quandaries. It unfortunately also makes the story more shallow.
And hey, dehumanizing ones enemies, where have I heard that recently?

What would your Lion King prequel be like?
Funny you ask that considering I was actually thinking about it in the shower earlier. Girl, buckle up, cause I have soooo many thoughts.
I had some personal rules that was mostly to adhere to the story they were trying to tell, not the story I personally would've wanted. So that includes keeping Mufasa and Scar as unrelated, Kiros as the villain, the whole Milele plotline, etc. So let's get to it
Spoilers Obviously:
First thing I'd do is change Taka's name. Taka means "trash" which is a fucked up name first of all but second of all doesn't make sense since both of his parents love him. I'd name him either Askari, as a mild nod to The Lion Guard and because Scar could easily come as a nickname from it; Inkosi which also means "king"; or Takasa meaning "to purify."
Secondly, I'd make Taka worse. Not evil yet, but a very spoiled, manipulative brat with a soft spot for Mufasa. Taka suddenly becoming a master deceiver because his father once told him that kings have to lie sometimes makes no sense. So he's just like that. I actually imagine he gets it from his mother since she needs more character than just being good. I'd show him getting into trouble with the animals within his father's territory because of his entitlement with Mufasa often having to act as a mediator.
Taka desires and expects to be king. Full Stop. No "oh I wish I was normal and could hunt with my mother." Would he be an atrocious king? Absolutely, but that doesn't matter since it's what he's owed for being a prince. There would have to be a balancing act between Taka's better and worse traits to keep him somewhat sympathetic.
With that in mind, he never falls in love with Sarabi. He honestly doesn't care much for her. But he wants her as his queen since he's a prince and she's a princess so that's just kind of how it goes. I imagine a scene where Mufasa is trying to see his logic and he's like "but don't you think you should...idk...love... her?" And Taka just raises an eyebrow. Sarabi genuinely can't stand his ass.
Speaking of Sarabi, I'd give her some actual character. I want her to be Mufasa's opposite but also compliment him. So I'd make him very open towards new things and other animals from his experiences wandering with his parents as a cub and push Sarabi's pride and pragmatism up to 11. Sometimes he's right, sometimes she's right, but they learn from each other. I'd like a scene of them together near the end plotting and putting together everything they've learned from each other, working as a unit. I'm removing the weird super senses Mufasa had.
Mufasa dearly needs a character arc, so i'm just gonna go the simple route of him learning to stand up for himself and against Taka sometimes. he's very submissive considering he's lived most of his life under Obasi and tends to be very lenient as a result. He still acts as mediator even after the two have to run and often ends up in the middle of arguments while trying to keep the peace. Keeping his head down has kept him alive. He learns that that will not fly sometimes and someone needs to take a stand and that someone has to be him.
Also I'd keep Kiros as a cannibal, cause God knows he needs something interesting going on. He's a character who loves to play with his food. Instead of being frustrated, he's having the time of his life tracking them down to take care of loose ends (Taka and later Sarabi too). I'd move his son's death to later in the film so we have some time to see their dynamic and really understand why he's so enraged by his death.
Most major change I'd have though is adding more lions to the traveling group:
I don't like how there were already lions at the Pridelands when the whole point was that it was a fairy tale story to give hope. It's kind of weird that there were lions already chilling there, makes the end of the journey feel less impactful.
So I'm taking those lions and making them refugees of Kiros's destruction (he also has a LOT more lions than in the movie) found along the way. This includes Sarafina cause why not. Taka is fully against taking them along as some of them are injured and will slow them down. Sarabi, hating to agree with Taka, is also hesitant, especially since they're being tracked, but she's sympathetic. Mufasa says he'll take the blame if anything happens and helps them, showing his compassion and leadership.
Rafiki joins them as a healer. He's still completely unconcerned with being eaten when they meet, but he has enough of an initial use for them to be given an actual reason to spare him. I imagine Sarafina was one of the injured lions picked up and he simply says she won't make it if they eat him. Her wound is infected and she's growing slower and weaker by the day. Mufasa decides to believe the questionably sane baboon and Rafiki helps her which cements his place in the group.
Taka needs something to do too, so I'm gonna let him be the brains of the outfit. He has 0 leadership skills, but he does have a lot of good ideas. But he often needs Mufasa to actually execute it. Or worse, he needs the other lions which means he needs Mufasa to convince them on his behalf since he cannot ask nicely to save his life.
He doesn't turn into an incel when Sarabi chooses Mufasa cause wtf, but he does feel his authority slipping day by day as Mufasa shows himself to be more of a leader. He sort of "allows" Mufasa to have Sarabi and tells him as much in a bid for some control.
He doesn't betray them to Kiros cause wtf. Instead Mufasa, for the first time, gives him a firm no about something. Taka is stricken, then gets angry and careless and storms off in a blizzard where he trips and falls down a snowdrift near where Kiros is. He panics and runs, unable to cover his tracks as the snowstorm ends and leading them to where the group is heading. Taka knows it's most likely his fault they got caught but like hell he'll admit that.
Throughout the movie, Taka gets worse. More argumentative, more irritated, more angry, more insecure. He loves Mufasa, but that love only seems to be present so long as he's subservient to him. There are moments where Mufasa breaks through to him briefly, showing that he could change, but he just doesn't want to. Taka never really sees Mufasa as an equal, even if he never calls him a stray or anything like Obasi did.
Taka also gets the unfortunate experience of being pummeled and toyed with by Kiros in the battle for the Pridelands until Mufasa slams in, allowing Taka to run. Then it's Mufasa's turn to get beaten. It's up to Sarabi, with her having to convince Taka to help her, to save him. This is the singular time the two manage to work together. Putting their heads together, they manage to save Mufasa.
After the fight, Mufasa sees Taka, there's relief and gratitude in his eyes as he starts to limp to him. We see Taka's eyes soften just a bit and it seems like maybe he'll close the distance. Then the rest of the lions come to praise Mufasa for leading them this whole time and convincing them to get rid of Kiros. Taka slips off somewhere unnoticed, his pride more wounded than ever.
Mufasa shakes off the group as quick as he can, but not quick enough to see where Taka went. He finds him eventually in a cave and is wary about the whole king thing and confides in him. Taka never quite faces him, but in a nutshell he tells him that he might as well accept the title (it goes unsaid that they wouldn't give the position to Taka anyway, but it's very implied). Mufasa moves to make another attempt to connect with his brother. Taka promptly shoots him down, saying something like "you should run along, you wouldn't keep your subjects waiting."
Mufasa reluctantly takes the dismissal and leaves. Taka stares after him in the dark, his eyes brighter and greener than ever with pure envy. Then Mufasa roars and all is good.
Also Mufasa's mom is dead dead. I don't see the point in her being alive.
Also also, take out Timon, Pumbaa, and Zazu. I could not stand them.

While reading hurt/comfort fics, I noticed that for each pairing I had a very strong preference for which character was hurting and which character was providing comfort. So, I'm interested to know if this is true for anyone else besides me, and if it has anything to do with who your favorite character is. I decided to do this poll about Destiel because the ship is clearly closer to me and I didn't want to complicate the poll with several different pairings and characters.

Like those were the things we knew about the Executors before da4 and i'm like... still scratching my head about where that "they've been watching everything so far and they've been nudging history to provoke things to line up until they can start making their moves" (also nudging history? the thing Flemythal was saying she was doing? The thing you totally retconned because you didn't want to commit to her revenge plan and wanted to just make her the voice of reason instead?)
I've had the feeling originally that the Executors were... weirder than the norm, true, but from what we had there i thought they were an external force who started to put their eyes on Thedas because the Veil disappearing would be a problem for them, and it's why they see Corypheus as a threat and gives some ressources to the Inquisition.
I was so sure the Veil was going to come down that i expected that once the Veil would be down the Executors would make their moves because the one thing that was stopping them before from really looking at Thedas was the state of the Veil.
Revealing that the Executors existed since Elvhanan is one thing, sure, whatever, though i do think it's a shame to link them to ancient Elvhanan while we still are failing to properly develop the Forgotten Ones (and i have my own grievance about what was done with them in game, but there's also a nonzero chance the Executors would be linked to the Forgotten Ones and i think i need a drink ngl.)
but the implication that they've watched history and nudged it in some way from the secret ending and that they were just waiting for the Evanuris to stop existing and the Wolf to be defanged...
youtube
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I fucking hate this whole "we influenced history" thing (that was Flemythal's thing!!) but the whole thing seems so weird to me seeing what were their original plot inclusions. They wanted to learn about the Wolf's plan, and they kept an eye out for Corypheus, yet it seems they still were just... waiting for the pieces to allign on the board? I mean i suppose they may just have lied all along but just "we can't trust anything they say" feels like a very bland way to introduce your next big bad villain that is supposed to have justified why everyone were bad before (because Free Will is an illusion and existence is a curse or whatever)
idk it feels like, to ME, that the Executors were not planned to be... whatever they're teased to be, and now i'm just. scratching my head about it.

We should normalize bringing these sort of "small talk ideas" cards to meetings with other people so that it's possible to avoid the awkwardness of not knowing what to talk about to kick things off or if it's considered normal to talk about this specific thing and AUGHGHFCG all this stuff.
#i don't know what these cards are actually called. but what i mean by this is that well. ok let me tell you the whole story#which is that in my attempts to become more normal and functional i started attending these 'social skills exercise' group meetings#and at our first meeting instead of subjecting us to the awkwardness of introducing ourselves one by one#the group moderator prepared these cards with questions that we would take and answer in turns#and then invite all the others to contribute a bit as well. and that part was also not as scary as i feared it would be#some of the questions were kind of not very good interesting questions but still it didn't matter that much#because i am once again being proven that as long as the conversation is about something specific#it's really not that much of a problem for me to contribute like how when i had these zoom meetings with people#that discussed my interships back in my two final semesters of uni of course at first i was super stressed. BUT once the meeting started#and it came to the actual talking? it was no problem at all suddenly like wow sometimes i actually can talk to people#but yeah the 'what do i talk about' is the problem. and another realization i had here is that i'n in fact naturally predisposed to rambling#because i rambled a lot during this meeting i feel like and i think i'm already starting to vibe with one girl from my group in particular#yet my biggest problem most of the time is not saying anything at all in most situations. because of. the masking#it's literally such a big thing to overcome i've been having such huge realizations about this. but yeah anyway#i already had the opportunity to mention sparks lol. bcs one question was to tell the others about a movie#that left a huge impact on you and well why would i lie about this and not talk about TSB and my tendency to become obsessed with old bands#another observation is that when you put 4 socially awkward people in one room the result will be that it will feel very akward#to no suprise of course. but also there is something relieving about not being THE ONLY awkward one in a group you know#but well yeah all in all. man the mysteries of human communication. maybe i'll get it all one day#goosepost

have you watched the pjo show?
I saw the first 2 episodes when they came out at a watch party one of my friends threw, and as soon as they ended I realized I didn't particularly care to keep going. It wasn't like, outrageously bad by any means, I just don't think it gripped me enough to want to continue, and there were enough odd adaptational choices that I thought weakened the story that I lost interest. I might have tuned back in if the changes actually built to something interesting in the later episodes, but from everything I've seen it kinda seems like they just took the teeth out of the story, which was what I was worried about.
That being said, the cast seems really great and well suited to their roles, so like, if they improve the writing and pacing in the later seasons and stop sanding down all the rough edges, I might pick it back up. But otherwise, pass.
#im like famously bad at watching tv tho so me not wanting to continue is less dramatic than it probably sounds#i just don't really watch it casually anymore so I'll only follow along with shows that i really really like#i got another ask about the show a little while ago and i was like 'oh ill answer that once ive caught up' and then i never caught up so#sorry to whoever sent that i wasn't ignoring you i just never got to the ep you mentioned#like if I'm trying to be optimistic. given how quickly shows get canned if they're not immediately super popular. and given that this is a#disney product. its possible that once the show proves it can be commercially successful and the characters get older they might stop#playing it so safe and boring and bring some of the harder and more complicated elements back in. and like. that won't fix what they've#already fumbled but it will at least make the story better and more interesting. but idk how likely that is esp since#rick riordan seems totally on board with all the changes and it sounds like he doesn't really get why they diminish the story#like i feel like they're thinking too much about whether or not a change has a huge impact on the plot and not enough about how it#impacts the characters and the overall theme and vibe of the story. if that makes sense#like sure we still got from point A to point B in roughly the same way but that trip means something different for the characters now#and if you do that enough times you end up with a completely different result at the end even if we're technically in the same place#percy jackson show#asks

OKAY SO I'M GONNA GO AHEAD AND SHARE SOME DRAKEN HEADCANONS, mostly about his flaws since we didn't see that much in canon. under the cut for length. keep in mind that most of this is not actually implied in canon, just stuff i thought would be interesting and may end up scrapping/changing in the future.
in terms of actual canon moments that imply his flaws, i could only think of a few things: his initial fight with mikey over pah and how it got out of control, the moment after emma's death where he took everything out on mikey, and maybe (??) the fact that he didn't share his feelings/objections on toman's dissolution and accepted it while secretly being conflicted, too. i've tried to draw upon these moments when making stuff up, but if anyone has any different ideas to mine based upon these moments for flaws draken might have, PLEASE SHARE THEM WITH ME I WOULD LOVE YOU AND MARRY YOU INSTANTLY AFHJSDK
anyway. so i thought one flaw of draken's that'd be interesting is also a strength of his - his strong moral compass and high expectations of others. this is also a good thing for obvious reasons, but in contrast means that he expects people to react to trauma in the "right way" and thinks on some level that they have an obligation to do so.
now... it's actually more complicated than that. that's what he TELLS himself he believes, but in reality, when he finally acknowledges to himself that mikey has become a "bad person" (more on that later) - he can't abandon him. he decides to try and save him, going against his own principles which state he should be writing mikey off as a "lost cause", because mikey is ultimately more important to him than those principles.
however... i do think those high expectations caused issues in a different kind of way. specifically, while he subconsciously noticed mikey's pain and his "darker side" even before the kanto incident occurred, he somewhat denied the full extent of it because he didn't want to have to face that conflict between his principles and his love of mikey. maybe he was afraid of what the end result would be. it's kind of like... on some level, he didn't want to lose that "perfect" image he had of mikey, because then he'd be forced to either abandon his friend OR completely re-evaluate his worldview.
of course, it's not like he thought mikey was perfect. he was willing and able to call him out when needed, and noticed when he did things wrong, but kind of downplayed the seriousness of it to himself a little?? a lot of this is all subconscious, though. he TOLD himself the reason he didn't push harder about mikey's mental state is because mikey didn't want the help, or just needed support in the form of being treated like normal, or that he was healing on his own time. but deep down, it might've been because he feared that if he acknowledged what mikey was hiding, he'd end up abandoning him.
i guess in that way, his flaw is more "not wanting to acknowledge his own feelings" than "high expectations of others." they're both an issue to an extent, but for the latter, when it comes into conflict with his care for his friends, the latter ultimately wins out.
i also want to compare him to the others in toman a bit and my headcanons for them... so. baji i think was another character who noticed what was up with mikey and didn't push, but for him i think it was less not wanting to acknowledge his own feelings on it, but more that he felt he didn't have the right to interfere after what happened with shinichiro. mitsuya... probably didn't notice as much as draken or mikey, and might even have handled things better then them if he had - but by the time he did notice mikey's darkness, mikey already seemed too far gone. pah didn't notice because he's not the smartest, but if he did he would've talked to mikey about it because he's BEST BOY OKAY LISTEN I'M RIGHT!! #pahbestboy
but back to draken. some unrelated to the whole mikey fiasco flaws are generally his tendency to keep his feelings to himself. not telling emma how he felt, for instance - he tends to assume people just "know" how he feels already. also, he tends to keep in his more negative feelings/feelings he thinks he shouldn't have, and that leads to them spilling over when they become too much (see him @ mikey after emma's death.)
finally, i do think draken did on a small level rely on mikey to an extent. he saw him as a "strong leader" and didn't want to lose that image of him... but that's not really a huge thing for him in comparison to his other reasoning for not pushing with mikey, if that makes sense?? like he still considered mikey more important than that.

If Randall thought he was about to cry before, then he was veering dangerously close to outright sobbing at Emily’s words, and it took a great deal of effort on his part not to do just that, as he tried his damndest to wrap his head around what she was telling him. Did she really mean that? Did she really believe that he was so amazing with his musical prowess? Did he really amaze her so much?
Of course, there was the part of him that nagged him, scoffing at these words, that little voice that was so certain she was lying to him, secretly thinking he was an awful composer, a dreadful singer, and a terrible musician, but for once, he found himself silencing that little voice, so caught up in the euphoria of her words that the inner voice was drowned out. For once, he didn’t believe that little voice, being instead so touched by her wonder, her admiration, that he was struggling not to burst out in joyous tears. So unfamiliar was he with such praise, he hardly knew what to say!
And he told her so, after taking a few moments to gather himself to keep from exploding with emotion (the last thing he needed was for him to break out into childish tears as something as simple as being told he was good at his craft), still blinking back the tears as he managed to choke out, “Th-Thank you, Emily, th-thank you...! I...I don’t know what to say o-other than...thank you!” He didn’t know if he had some natural-born knack for music or if it was just his own perseverance or something somewhere in between, but clearly, it was something worth celebrating in her eyes.
(Honestly, he much preferred to think it was his own hard work that made him so good at music...how cruel would it be for the Lord to give him such a horrible face, and yet have him make the most beautiful music, he thought to himself? Surely, if he were not the Devil’s Child, he was at least cursed by him at birth-the world will love the music you make, but not you yourself!)

I didn't know I needed to know that the weed-smoking girlfriends post was genetically a wolf, but I did, and I do. Also puts great stuff on my dash.
it’s so fun to be scrolling unhinged posts and then boom. an organism!
so many moths‼ also, unexpected comedy with some of the matches
perfect blend of silly and informative, and makes for an excellent punchline at the end of a long post. puts creatures on my dash. literally what more could you ask for
It's a really unique blog concept and a lot of times the results are pretty funny. It's great when the sequence matches the post content too!
Creatures 👍
Finds beautiful creatures out of the mess of the hellsite
Offers finality AND gives us a creechur.
I love them. English speakers talk like moths
If this blog wins, they could run the text of the winning announcement, and determine the post's genus and species!
They're also very good about tagging the type of creature depicted in the results, so as long as you mute tags of creatures you don't want to see, it's a very fun time seeing iconic legacy posts (and new submissions) being reduced down to a string of letters and assigned a random species of fish or moth or something!
uhh it’s cool
BLAST
There are so many weird bugs in the world
Yippee!!
If, as Haldane said, God has an inordinate fondness for beetles, then surely this blog proves that Tumblr has an inordinate fondness for moths.
Top tier blog as a geneticist, I love seeing obscure organisms and MOTH
Admin got rate limited after trying to blast the bee movie
the knowledge of biology to pull this off (i have taken one biology class in my life) and also the work to find all the strings honestly deserves quite a bit of praise
This gimmick blog has it all: science, pictures of animals, interaction with the text of other peoples' posts, interesting information, and a unique and fun premise. As a biologist, I'm rooting for hellsitegenetics to reach the end and take the tournament, because it is truly a standout among gimmick blogs.
If they win, perhaps this blog too shall become a cool organism :3
@making-you-in-spore
Incredible works of art from a limited medium, the blog favors quality over quantity and I am always in awe when a dancing creacher in Spore [2008] crosses my dash.
His spores often take him multiple hours to create, and he will go through astounding amounts of effort to commit to the bit. He made his cull poll in spore and then blew it up. Hes also super responsive and active and seems really eager to share his creation techniques and spread the joy of making things in spore [2008]. His blog almost singlehandedly sparked a significant resurgence in interest and playerbase of a 16 year old game that most people see as nothing but a meme. Hes just a guy who likes spore [2008]
i say vote for making you in spore because seeing them blow up their opponents after they win is hilarious
