#I'm still not okay about this

We've all realized at this point when Isha is reflecting back her time spent with Jinx she views Zaun with so much more colour and whimsy than the reality they were living in. Her pastel memories are overlapped with fun scribbles that are really similar, but more lighthearted, to Jinxes hallucinations.

The scene I want to talk about is where they both take a running leap off of a rooftop. When they first jump Isha eye's are looking up at the sky, bright and full of wonder. On the other hand, Jinxes eyes are black. No emotion is shown through colour, no light reflecting in them, and her smeared makeup is so heavy it looks like bags.

But as the flashbacks continue, Isha keeps coming back to this moment and as they fall together Jinx starts to change.

There's light reflecting in her eyes now. Her makeup also isn't as heavy or dark and then we get this...

Isha is no longer looking up and her eyes are also darker in colour. Meanwhile, Jinx has the sunshine illuminating her back and Isha who uses colourful doodles to reflect emotions has scribbled purple to fill in Jinxes cloud. But more importantly that blue and purple diamond around Jinxes eye really leads up to...

Jinxes eyes go back to Powder blue. And unlike Isha's other doodles, which are messy and fun this change of colour is neatly contained to their eyes. Which I think means this isn't in Isha's mind. It's showing us Jinx reconnecting to herself, to Powder, through Isha. Not only that but her pupil isn't black but yellow. The colour I associate with Isha. And in the next moment,

Isha eyes also turn blue because she has seen Jinx for her in her entirety. She has no clue who Powder is or how that version is different from Jinx now because Jinx could show Isha that side of herself and it wasn't a weakness, it was fun. Plus, with knowing what we know through episode 7. Powder always had the ability to change the world. It wasn't just Jinx. Isha was inspired by her and she had such a deep influence on how Isha perceived everything. Isha loved Jinx and it's why she made her decision to protect Jinx even at the cost of herself. So while Jinx is looking upwards and onwards, Isha looks down, eyes wide open, into what they're leaping into.

A body of water. Which we all know holds heavy symbolism of transformation for Jinx. It' where Silco took her to let go of Powder. Now she's willingly jumping into it with Isha to reconnect to the little girl she tried so hard to bury. But for Isha, that water means something different. Isha is the catalyst, she is the change, her actions will spark Jinx to go forward but at the cost of herself. She looks down because there is no forward from here. So she reflects back through all of her precious moments and you know she believes if everything was just to lead up to this moment than it was worth it.

I finished this comic about a month ago but couldn't bring myself to post it. It started as a simple illustration and then I just kept adding more and more and at some point I had to stop myself and cut the story short. I'm still not entirely satisfied with the result but... well. I like it. That's enough.

crowley used the metal tool in season 1 to start time, and we learn that he's used it first to start space. to create the stars -- he still remembers how. he still remembers all of heaven's passwords: in the book crowley is described as an optimist because he has the "utter surety... that the universe would look after him". not god, but the universe. and of course he does: he helped create it and he's looking after it, too.

think about it: aziraphale had a sword, but crowley is about to face satan who wants to destroy the world, and crowley's only weapon is a tool of creation

the more I play the more I think lucanis basically knows it's illario who betrayed him right from the beginning (he's had a year in the ossuary to think. not that many people knew where he was going. when you ask him 'did Illario know you'd be on that ship' his only answer is the hardest flattest 'yes' you ever heard). so it's not so much about figuring out who the traitor is (because that's ludicrous. we all know. immediately. they didn't really bother to hide it lmao) as about methodically closing off every single avenue of denial lucanis has clung to that whole time with as much or little gentleness as you might prefer until he has no choice but to admit it. because the moment he has to admit it, he'll have to do something -- feel something -- about it. and that's such a catastrophic event in lucanis' inner landscape (he has had TWO people in this whole entire world up until now and will do anything to hold on to them with a heartbreaking child-like desperation, even at and especially through the detriment of his own self) that he'd rather just. not. what if we quite simply. didn't. what if we just stayed here in the emptiness where we can both pretend you didn't hurt me in a way I should never forgive. I have so much practice in that with caterina already it's always worked out great for everyone so far. (press x to fucking doubt but that's trauma logic for you lol)

after everything illario did, so much of the storm of lucanis' emotions around it is 'what the FUCK did you get yourself tangled up in this time and how do I get you out of this mess safely'. what's worse: the fact that your brother murdered you, or that he put himself in horrible danger doing so and thus exposed you to the risk of losing him forever. lucanis' heart certainly has an opinion here and it's fucking unhinged (affectionate)

the themes of dissociation in lucanis' character in general makes me feel nuts. allllll these contradictory messy things he needs to cut off from each other because they can't coexist or be easily reconciled inside him. but all remain stubbornly true separately anyway and will have their due one day. love and resentment. tenderness and fear and rage. terror and longing. love and freedom don't coexist. the burned out golden child anthem is playing in the background. he was always caterina's favourite and he has to keep striving to deserve that dubious honour with every breath he takes and then, presumably, mercifully, some day he will die and be excused and can rest. and until now he's suppressed all the -- natural, healthy, protective! -- negative feelings that threaten the few attachment relationships he actually has, at the cost of ever actually having his needs for connection and safety met and leaving his core self imprisoned and compromised. and spite goes 'what. no. that's dumb fuck that' (*spite voice* I do not understand that and even if I did I would not respect it) and does not allow him to fall back into that, which I think is what saves his life, ultimately. it took being possessed by a demon for lucanis to even contemplate telling anyone he loves 'no' in any way, but hey. whatever gets you there right lol

lucanis is dealing with the freeze response allll the way down baby. and he was even before the ossuary, that just turbo powered it and brought it to a breaking point way before it could happen naturally. but something was going to break eventually no matter what, and I'm just glad that in the end, through the power of friendship and also pure spite, it doesn't have to be him

I kind of spoiled them- But yeah! Crittoros! Based on the wonderful @tawnysoup 's critters, and specifically their precious Isabird

Crittoros are a variant of the more wide spread Isabirds. They seem to have adapted to their surroundings and evolved to mimic trees and plant patterns, including their spotted patterns to simulate light through leaves.

The wingless variant originally wasn't considered to be related to the Isabirds, due to it's lack of wings, and presence of ears. However, upon further research, it was discovered that the wingless variant simply evolved for a more stationary life among the trees. Their bone structure resemble that of an Isabird, but with no wings, and an extended tail for balance. The Crittoro's seem to be especially hostile and territorial towards Isabirds, but show little hostility towards their winged variant.

The winged Crittoros appear to be a closer relative to the Isabird, even tho they actually descended from the wingless variant. Due to hostile environments, this Crittoro variant developed further in agility and resilience. They keep the flowery camouflage and their claws have developed webbing but regained their wings. Their ability to float on water, fly, and blend with their environment shows an advanced adaptability, gained from continuous evolution, and have only now started to appear more in recent years. The winged Crittoros remain a pleasant dynamic with both Isabirds and wingless variants, both playful and doting.
