Decided to watch the His Dark Materials tv series and it's good and I love it but it brings up the same mixed feelings I had about the book series all those years ago.

- For the love of .....not God I guess Mr Pullman please stop with the chaotic evil barbarian TaRtars (that dwell somewhere in the Arctic for some reason?) and their wolf daemons. Please. No having Gruman become their shaman doesn't fix it.Ugh.

- Same issue as I have with that certain brand of uppity online atheist. Everything is about Christianity, mostly the brand of Christianity the author is familiar with.Other religions? What other religions? They must all be like Christianity too (which apparently exists across the multiverse). What do you mean not everything fits in my Evil Anti Intellectual Christianity mold? Well it's not Real religion then they're just worshipping imaginary spirits or Dust or something! Oh and if a religious person is really smart And a good person they'll eventually abandon this silly nonsense and start studying physics instead.

-But the characters are so good!

-The worldbuilding is so good (whenever the author shuts up about how much he hates religion for a sec)

-genuinely well written most of the time

- Now the "here's why we need separation of church and state" part of the narrative, that I deeply approve of.

when i was like six and my dad frequently went on business trips (still does) i wrote him a letter, baby's first microsoft word experience, all fancy and glittery. right and then he as a grown man also sent back a word doc letter with five sentences and a photo attached of him standing infront of some fuckass bridge or whatever, which looked like he was a sitcom character trying to prove he was in the place he said he was, and though it hadn't seemed suspicous before all of the sudden you start wondering

do you guys just like looking at stuff?

I've always been fond of looking at things, but my current one is blinkies. Previous ones include dice and text symbols with emoji combos. Sometimes I hoard them in Pinterest boards, like reaction pics or memes without text. Also jewelry, I like to collect it and make more, so this also includes hoarding things to make that said jewelry.

It can include staring to people a lot, out of curiosity but I don't do that often bc it's kinda weird. But if I know they are not gonna notice I just look at people.

idk if this is stupid or if I'm going crazy but I really like looking at stuff. Like, I can make or use those things but just looking at them brings me a lot of joy. If I look at something that I like for enough time I stop wanting it, like my brain says "ok it's enough we're done getting the dopamine out of this one".

does this happen to anyone else if so please tell me bc I wanna look at more things. and let's not count nsfw just in case.
