CAN I GET A KISS? (AND CAN YOU MAKE IT LAST FOREVER?)
—wc: 878, headcanons of how different jjk men would kiss you!! fluffy fluff fluff and nothing but fluff, a lot of kissing (neck, lips and forehead), gojo in himself is a warning tbh. REBLOGS + FEEDBACKS ARE APPRECIATED!!
—pairing: geto, gojo, nanami x reader (separate)
。゚・ ☆ ° 。 geto suguru—
I somehow see Geto as a guy who is into neck kisses. Like you'd be doing your work and Suguru just spawns out of nowhere, wrapping his arms around your waist, pecking and nibbing down your neck. He'll be helping you put on the clasp of a necklace and would steal a little peck that would take you by surprise. So cute. He's also very much into pecking your shoulders and burying his head in your neck—his way of asking you to play with his hair. Like you will be watching some stupid rom com and the next thing you know, Suguru is latched onto you, nibbling onto your shoulder as he buries himself in your neck. His breath softly tickles your skin and you know no one’s going to watch the movie anymore. So you give into his antics as your fingers card through his hair as a hum of satisfaction leaves his lips.
"oh! what was that for?" you yelped in a welcomed surprise as you felt a little nibble on the side of your neck which was quickly soothed by the feeling of your lover's warm tongue.
"missed my baby. When are you joining me in bed? it's late," his lips left a trail of kisses from the base of your ear to your clavicle.
"will you attack me if I say after I finish this draft?" you smiled up at him, his eyes glinting with mischief.
"you know I will."
You both knew he would attack you with kisses before bed either way.
。゚・ ☆ ° 。 gojo satoru—
Now Gojo is a flirt. He's a stupid idiot and a flirt. He'll do anything to tease you and rile you up if I'm being honest. He'll get close to you, breaths mingling together as he holds you against his hard chest. You can smell his rich boy cologne so clearly and you're sure he can probably hear your erratic heartbeat. It's all impossibly slow and you close your eyes, waiting for his lips to land on yours and then.....they land on your cheek! Your eyes shoot open at the howling laughter from the menace that is Gojo Satoru. He gives a detailed recollection of your face from just a few seconds ago and you realise he can never not get on your nerves.
"Satoru I fucking hate you," you whine, pouting a bit, your body sulking as you look away, arms folded and a rose tint on your cheeks.
The next thing you know, Satoru's arms are around your waist for a second time as you're impossibly close to him....again. Except now his lips are quick to land upon yours. you move your arms to grip on his hair while he tightens his arms around you. He sucks on your bottom lip, licking and nibbling it. Your surprised gasp allowed him his entrance into your mouth, your tongues gliding against each other's as both of your lips were covered with thick coats of saliva. His hand moved along your back, gripping your neck, then face and then back around your waist. You wish you could kiss him like this forever but your lack of oxygen compelled you to part.
You panted as you looked at him, his sapphire eyes holding love, passion, desire and something more—mischief perhaps?
he smirked before pecking your lips again.
"Won't hate me as much now I'm guessing?"
Incorrigible, isn't he?
。゚・ ☆ ° 。 nanami kento—
Come on. When I started writing this, I just knew Nanami had to be a forehead kiss man. He just radiates a sense of safety and comfort if you know what I mean. Imagine the both of you are at your shared apartment and you are just talking on the sofa and he's smiling at you and when you ask what's up he just takes your face in his big hand and leaves a long kiss on your forehead.
I just know Nanami comes home and the first thing he does is hug you tightly, as if to never let you go. He then proceeds to hold you gently by your neck as he leaves a lasting kiss on your temple.
Even before bed, after saying your good nights when you are all cuddled up with him, he'll softly leave a chaste kiss on your forehead, muttering 'sweet dreams' before you both lull to sleep. It's endearing really.
Especially when you're tired or stressed from work or life and you confide in him for comfort. He will hold you so tightly while you feel at home in his arms. One of his hands will be pressing your head to his chest while the other grabs you around the waist. You love being held by him.
"thank you kento, I feel better," you separate from him, smiling up at him in gratitude and appreciation.
he just hums in response, returning your smile with one of his own endearing ones. He moves a lock of your hair behind your ear as he brings his lips to your forehead. you close your eyes, basking in his warmth and comfort.
Kento's forehead kisses and hugs ensured you that you would always have a place to call home as long as he's with you. You'd always be safe in his arms. He'd always be yours.

So for the next batch I'll do a few more characters from the Beam Saber game I want to run - first off, the flight control officer that acts as a handler for the party (and the other mech team), Kalina Al-Atras (she/her). Originally I was going to have her be genderfluid and switch between Kalin/Kalina, but after a little bit of consideration I thought that would be way too much bookkeeping and busywork for one NPC - I had the idea of her tattoo on her cheek being bioluminescent and changing color depending on which gender she felt most, but again that's something that's hard to keep track of and difficult to convey well in a ttrpg (there are definitely actual plays I've heard that do genderfluid characters well, but not ones that switch daily or multiple times a day).
First we have the initial portrait, done by @dhurain again (who does incredible color/texture work and gorgeous backgrounds to go with the portrait)
Next, another piece by @sierra117-renner
And one by the wonderful @nanariemi, of Kalina reading over an after action report and being both alarmed and impressed by the idiocy and/or bravery of her team.
And the next character is Captain Kaiolohia Tender (he/him), the captain of the starship the PCs work on, Into The Dark We Cast Our Hopes Like Nets (if you can't tell, I'm taking a lot of inspiration from the Culture novels by Iain Banks). Once again, @snippity knocks it out of the park.
Captain Tender is a character I've got a lot of ideas for but nothing nailed down particularly well - I want him to be bookish, a kind of underwhelming presence, but the sort of captain who knows the ins and outs of his ship to an excruciating degree. I also wanted to avoid overly military clothing or imagery, both for his character but just in general. I love the aesthetic, I'm a sucker for gundam characters decked out in full regalia, but I think it's better to try and avoid especially for the setting as I've imagined it.
Anyway, from the talented @aerequets, a little vignette of Kalina and Captain Tender going over notes during a walk and talk meeting. I really like having these little snapshots of daily life illustrated, because I think one of my favorite parts of any ttrpg campaign book are the pictures of characters interacting or otherwise doing flavorful things.
Oh and I wanted to add, @dhurain has done little thank you sketches for me for a couple of different characters, so here are her sketches of Kalina and Rachel Hess - absolutely adorable!
Okay I've been going back and forth on this and I'm gonna do it, just in chunks because of course there's a limit on images.
This is the character that started a bit of an obsession for me, what I thought was going to turn into a novel but I'm sticking to the original concept - a beam saber (by austin ramsay) game that I'm going to run before I die, I swear to god. This is Rachel Hess (she/it), better known as the Thirty Thousand Tons Of Unexploded Ordnance, a starship using an artificial construct body to pass a coded message to the party. I've got a lot of plans for her, but her initial appearance is supposed to surprise and confuse the party, as well as start pushing them towards major plot events (or at least give them the option). Art is by the wonderful @dhurain
From the same game, Stability Liao (she/her), the chief mechanic of the PC's starship. She's probably one of the least fleshed out characters, unfortunately, because I love how she looks and I think she'd be a lot of fun to have in scenes. She's the typical enormous brawny mech repair specialist - calling the players' mechs hers, berating them for taking damage, but I want to give a little more space to her outside of the mech bay and see what happens, because I think there's a lot of room to play and evolve in reaction to the players. Art is by the talented @snippity.
The last characters I'll do for this installment are the other mech pilots on board the players' ship, all art done by the incredible @sierra117-renner (also @s117rartblog for portfolio)
This is Kadri Kassal (she/her), callsign 'Viscacha', shy sweetheart with a molten core. She tends to fight extremely aggressively, pushing her heat curve to critical. I don't want to play too heavily into the 'nice girl who turns into a combat monster' trope, but also I feel like given the right amount of time in scenes, it'll be easy to avoid making her one-dimensional. Plus y'know, I think 'shy sweetheart' is a good character to have floating around for characters to have scenes with, if only to have a landing point and a friendly face to start with.
Next we have Cob Hawkins (he/him), callsign 'Wildjack', the slightly cocky and definitely goofy sensors specialist. Again, I'm allowing him to be a little trope-y as the goofball who can be the voice of reason when necessary. If I'm being honest I haven't put a lot of time into these characters and their personalities because I'm not sure how much the PCs will want to team up with them (or how long they're going to survive).
Finally we have Wicker Corini (they/them), callsign 'Adroit'. Wicker is going to be a more difficult character to roleplay - I plan to have them be largely nonverbal, communicating in combat with signal pings or other computer-based messages. They're the leader of the mech team, confident and talented, but definitely the kind who gets underestimated because of how quiet they are.
I've got a commission in the works right now of these three sharing a drink after battle/training, and I'm very excited for it.
There's also Dead Tom (he/it), the fourth member of the mech team, who doesn't have a portrait because he's an AI routine piloting an enormous artillery mech. He's very basic, and I'm leaving it up to the players whether they want to delve more into the possibilities there or just leave it at 'yeah it's a piloting matrix plugged into a warbot' without exploring whether, like, Dead Tom was based on a person, USED TO BE a person, IS CURRENTLY a person, etc. Again, the problem of making characters for a ttrpg campaign is that a lot of them are going to be at the mercy of the players in terms of screentime or importance or characterization.
There's a lot more but due to image limits per post (and the fact that a lot of the remaining characters have multiple pieces of art) I'll leave it here for now.
#I'm probably going to do the next part as a separate reblog just so that this doesn't get unwieldy#but I figured for this one it would be fine to stick more on#and of course I forgot to add the little chibi sketch of Rachel#anyway more eager showing off#and of course shilling shamelessly for the wonderful artists I've worked with#anyone who's like 'damn that's very pretty' go check the linked blogs for commission sheets#also goddammit I fucked up and put a 'the' in front of Thirty Thousand Tons of Unexploded Ordnance#and now it's stuck in the reblog#there's no 'the' all the ship names are names not titles

I have an ask about Spider reader, what if they bonded with a symbiote like Venom ? Exept they bonded to the point its impossible to separate them without killing them both? Venom is still partially separate from reader mostly working and talking with them or taking control when reader cant. Venom knows everthing about them since there i readers head.
Ok that's a great question!
I think at first Spider would be tired of Venom and try everything to get rid of him before getting used to a companion that doesn't have to be kept in the dark about their vigilante job and also their family problems.
They wouldn't tell anyone, but Alfred would obviously find out and just make sure they're ok before making his plan faster of getting the family to notice them.
If we take in consideration the original timeline that I am following at the moment, Superman would probably be the first person you would tell after months of knowing him and trusting him enough.
But when the Batfam will find out? Well I'm gonna make an example for how they would find out. (And also a small spoiler for the next part)
Ok so Spider is 'working' with Superman sometimes since Gotham's streets are relatively safe and they decide to follow Superman to a mission where they thought they were gonna work alone with Superman again and instead find Batman and Damian waiting for you two.
The mission consists of defeating a rising villain that is making weapons for big villains around the world, and while in the evil lair after defeating the villain, Batman almosts get stabbed by a machine set off by Superman.
But Spider decides to help him and saves him, getting stabbed in the process and making Venom heal them slowly and not immediately since they didn't want Batman to ask questions.
But Spider is still bleeding with a grave wound, which sends everyone in a panic.
So Batman sends Superman with you to the Batcave to get healed while Batman and Damian will make sure the villain will get what he deserves for hurting Spider. (Since Batfam is already a bit yandere for Spider but do not know their real identity)
At the Batcave Spider gets treated a bit after managing to give them some sedatives to make them calm down, which makes Venom come out to defend Spider.
And Alfred decides to make the drastic decision to reveal who Spider is, tired of seeing the Batfam treating them horribly while almost idolising and loving Spider which is the same person.
And Venom insults them with telling everything Spider thinks of them, all the pain, injuries and thoughts they had to make the Batfam feel even worse and Superman more of a yandere than he already was.
So the Batfam becomes even more, not sure the right terminology, yandere for Spider and wants to make it right, promising Venom to make it right and wanting to give Spider all the love they couldn't receive the first years in the Manor.
Venom, sadly, gets manipulated by everyone and promises to not say anything to Spider and helping them a bit since Venom also wants the best for Spider.
The story would continue with Spider getting imprisoned in the Manor, with their powers weak thanks to Venom, making them desperate and also weirded out by the sudden attention of everyone.
And after a while, with everyone manipulating them and suffocating them with their love will eventually lead to Stockholm Syndrome.
And that's the end of it! I will probably reblog it if I find anything wrong that I didn't notice! Thanks for the ask!
For the divider you can go to @saradika-graphics, she does this and takes requests!

Okay, so. I am very happy to inform y'all that I am beginning work on the first "episode" (chapter) of my Dead Boy Detectives season 2 fic today!
It has two potential working titles, both lyrics from Taylor Swift's Fresh Out the Slammer. I am not going to reveal them because I haven't selected which one I'll be using yet.
It will have 9 chapters. The official case titles are:
The Case of the Weeping Walls
The Case of Niko Sasaki
The Case of the Choked Cheerleaders
The Case of the Scorned Son
The Case of Hell's Own Track
The Case of the Shredded Tapestry
The Case of the Separated Soulmates
The Case of the Great Fire, Part I
The Case of the Great Fire, Part II
Each chapter will also come with a fun feature, but I'm not sure I'm ready to talk about that yet. :)
IF YOU WANT TO BE ON THE TAGLIST FOR THIS FIC, PLEASE COMMENT ON THIS POST. I will tag everyone who wants a tag, but only if they comment since that's how I'll keep track of the list.
Next question because I know this is going to be an extremely expansive and time-consuming project:
I would still post my usual DBDA content, including other DBDA fics, on this blog. The other one would be exclusively for longfic-related updates.
I would probably still reblog the chapters I post there onto this blog.
Finally, something for you to enjoy: a playlist for the fic! This is very short and uninteresting, but it will be an ever-evolving thing that probably gets long eventually, so please follow it if you're interested :)
A few spoilers under the cut that might impact interest (endgame ship, etc)
Unequivocal Payneland endgame (they're soulmates your honour)
Palasaki and NN/Kashi endgames
Happy ending for The Cat King, who plays a big role in the story
No Sandman crossovers besides potentially a Death appearance (I do not know Sandman well enough to include them)
BAMF Edwin scenes ;)
No Esther or Monty (sorry!) - there is a new OC antagonist
I'm currently trying to find a place for Jenny. I want to include her, but she will likely only have a few cameos since I can't for the life of me think of a plotline to involve her in.
I will be keeping up with Yockey-posted spoilers and incorporating them into the story when possible (so, Niko is the Principal, etc)

"The not so invisible string" | part 2
Not outbreak! Joel Miller x f! Reader
previous chapter | next chapter | masterlist
summary: you and Joel were made right for each other at the wrong time. Now, thirteen years later your paths crossed when both of your daughters get in trouble at school. Would be the right time for you now?
chapter summary: You and Joel had a "lunch" together and some things were said, and the past between you both is meeting the present.
word count: 5k.
warnings: angst, implications of cheating (emotional). I probably made some grammar mistakes because I write things fast. Not proofreading, ups. Italics are flashbacks <3
a/n: Chapter two is here!! Thank you so much for your nice comments and appreciation for the previous chapter, I didn't think it would be good enough but thanks for appreciating. Reblogs and comments are always appreciated. Happy reading 💌 p.s if you wann be taglisted, please I'm so shy so I feel asshamed of tagging people if you don't tell me 😳 and if I forgot someone, sorry 😭

"Are you waiting to see her again?" Sarah asked when Joel was parking outside school before driving to his job.
"Who?" He asked, trying to dismiss the nagging feeling settled in his stomach at the minimum possibility of seeing you again.
"Tara's mom?" She said, leaning toward his dad, "What's the issue with her, by the way? Was she your ex or something?”
"No,” he said immediately.
“So why did you get so nervous?"
"She is the love of my life," he confessed, not turning his face to Sarah in shame of being seen in such a vulnerable state.
When you were a parent, you never showed yourself vulnerable in front of your children; you never allowed them to see that part of you that’s beneath what they knew. But when they grow up, they understand you would never be a hero, but a human living life for the first time too.
Sarah's eyes widened at Joel's unexpected confession. The revelation hung in the air, leaving a palpable tension inside the car.
"The love of your life?" Sarah echoed, her voice a mix of surprise and curiosity. "But you never mentioned her before."
Joel sighed, his eyes fixed on the steering wheel as if it held the answers to a long-buried history. "It's complicated," he finally admitted. "We were each other's first love, but things didn't work out. We went our separate ways, and I thought I had moved on."
"But seeing her again..." he continued, his voice laced with a hint of vulnerability. "I never expected her to be here again."
Sarah studied Joel's profile, recognizing the struggle in his eyes. "And what about Tara's mom? Does she feel the same way?"
"I don't know," Joel confessed, a heaviness settling in his chest. "It's been thirteen years, and a lot has changed. She has a daughter now, and I have my own life."
Sarah reached out, placing a comforting hand on her dad’s shoulder. "Well, life is surprising," she said. "Maybe it's a chance for both of you to find closure, or maybe even something more. Who knows?"
Joel nodded, the weight of the past and the uncertainty of the future swirling around him.
“Perhaps” He said, “Okay, now go to class before you get late.” He hurried Sarah, but before she closed the door, a bolt of thought invaded his mind before he could even think.
“Can I ask you for a favor?”
She nodded.
“Ask Tara for her mother’s number, please.”
Sarah grinned, nodding her head and blowing a kiss to his father.
The days had passed, and life had settled into a new routine for you, unemployed and doing house chores, feeling just as the same twenty-two-year-old you once were.
But that wasn’t your only thought in the back of your mind. Since the day you had seen Joel, you hadn’t been able to take him off your mind, and as if it weren’t already difficult, Tara and Sarah were slowly becoming best friends, just as you and Joel were someday back when you had anything to lose.
For Joel, things weren’t different. There wasn’t a second of the day since he had seen you that he hadn’t thought about you. About how gorgeous you still looked and how much he had missed you for the past years. Despite the investable passing of time, the past seemed to cast a long shadow over the present; he couldn’t shake the nagging feeling that had resurfaced since he saw you.
Late one night, he found himself staring at his phone. Since Sarah got your number from Tara, he has been doing the same, contemplating whether to send a message. The words formed in his mind, but typing them out was a whole different thing for him. Trapped between the enormous desire to know about you or to let go of the best thing that had ever happened to him.
But before he could even formulate the thought, he pressed send.
Unknown number
"Hi, it’s me, Joel"
Your phone vibrated on your side of the bed.
"Honey?" Dwight called out,
“Yes?" you asked from the bathroom.
“Why is a Joel messaging you at this hour?”
You paused, the sensation of cold cream on your fingertips suddenly forgotten. The name "Joel" seemed too foreign on Dwight's lips; you even felt guilty.
"It's probably just something about Tara," you replied, forcing nonchalance into your tone. But the unease crept into your voice, betraying the facade.
Dwight's curiosity lingered in the room as you picked up your phone. The screen illuminated with a new message, and the familiar ache resurfaced in your heart.
Unknown number
Sorry for sending this at this time, but I've been thinking a lot about you since our unexpected meeting, and I was wondering if we could talk. No pressure, just a conversation.
You felt a mix of emotions—surprise, apprehension, and a tinge of curiosity. The late-night timing added an unexpected layer of intensity to the message.
"Honey, is everything okay?" Dwight's voice carried a note of concern.
"Yeah, it's probably about Tara or something. I'll go better call him,” you replied, forcing a smile. But deep down, you knew that hearing his voice through a phone would do enough damage to you.
“Hello sunshine! How it’s my best girl doing?” he exclaimed, his sleepy voice from this time in the morning melted you.
“I’m better now that you called”
“Remember I’m always just a call away from you, doe”
The hallway felt colder as you left the room, and the phone gripped tightly in your hand. Your heart raced against your chest, its rhythm echoing the uncertainty of the moment. As you pressed the button to call Joel, each second felt like an eternity.
The phone rang once, twice, and on the third ring, Joel's voice filled the air. "Hello?"
"How did you get my number?” you asked
"I... "I... uh, well," Joel stammered on the other end of the line, a hint of unease in his voice. "Sarah got it from Tara.”
Your mind raced with a mix of emotions—surprise, frustration, and a touch of understanding due to your daughters’ becoming friends.
"You could have asked," you replied, the tension evident in your voice. "But fine, what did you want to talk about?"
There was a pause, and you could almost hear Joel gathering his thoughts on the other end. "I've been thinking a lot about the past, about us," he admitted. "I never got the chance to properly apologize for how things ended. I just want to talk, to understand, and maybe find closure."
Closure. The word hung in the air, heavy with the weight of the years gone by.
You didn’t want to have closure with him; you didn’t want to forget.
"Joel, it's been thirteen years," you said, a mix of weariness and frustration coloring your words. "We've both moved on. What's the point of digging up the past now?"
"I know, and I respect that," Joel responded, his tone earnest. "But I've carried the weight of what happened between us for a long time. Maybe talking about it will help both of us. Besides Sarah and Tara, we could talk about them."
You sighed, the complexity of the situation settling around you. "Fine, let's meet. But just this once. I have a life, Joel, and I can't afford to let the past disrupt it."
"Thank you," Joel said, a note of gratitude in his voice. "I appreciate this, truly. Let's find a time.
"Tomorrow,” you said, interrupting his rambling.
Tomorrow? It seemed like too soon you were conflicted between the desire to see him again and the guilt of not being able to erase that part of your life.
“Okay, tomorrow at lunch” he spoke after what it seemed like minutes “I’ll send you the address.”
“Okay.” You whispered, “Have a goodnight, Joel”
“Good night, doe” he replied, before realizing how he had called you, he ended the call leaving you with no chance to answer back.
You were speechless, and the hallway felt emptier than before. Nobody had called you “Doe” since you parted ways with Joel, as if the nickname was forbidden from the lips of any person who wasn’t him, carrying a reminder of a time when the two of you shared your own language.
“From now on I’m calling you, Doe”
“Why?” you asked, tilting your head
“Because you looked so innocent with those bright eyes of you and you remind me of Bambi but I don’t want to call you that”
“What’s wrong with Bambi?”
“Nothing” he replied, “We could actually be like Bambi and Thumper”
As you walked back into the bedroom, Dwight looked up from his book, sensing the turmoil in your expression. "Everything okay?"
You nodded, forcing a smile. "Yes, just Joel wants to meet tomorrow to talk."
Dwight raised an eyebrow, concern etched on his face. "Are you sure about this? You don't have to do anything you're not comfortable with. I can go."
"No, I know," you replied, sinking onto the bed. "But it’s nothing bad... I actually know Joel from before. "You confessed without looking at Dwight.”
Dwight's expression softened as he processed your confession. "Before we met?"
You nodded, finally meeting his gaze. "Yeah, Joel and I have history. We were close—really close. We were actually best friends,” you said, omitting the “he is the love of my life” part.
Understanding flickered in Dwight's eyes, and he reached out, gently cupping your face. "You don't have to go through with this if it makes you uncomfortable. I trust you, and I trust whatever decision you make."
A mix of gratitude and guilt welled up within you. "I appreciate that, Dwight.”
He nodded, offering a supportive smile. "I'll be here for you, no matter what."
After that, Dwight closed his book and said goodnight to you, falling asleep a few minutes later. It seemed odd for you, but you couldn’t help but feel weird because of his attitude, as if he didn’t care about you meeting with another guy.
Dwight's seemingly indifferent response to your revelation about Joel left you feeling conflicted. Was it a sign of trust and confidence in your commitment to the present, or was there an undercurrent of something else?
As you drove to the restaurant Joel had suggested, your mind buzzed with memories of your shared past. The streets seemed to echo with the laughter and conversations of your younger selves. Navigating through familiar lanes, you couldn't escape the gravitational pull of nostalgia.
The restaurant's entrance loomed ahead, and you found yourself hesitating. The realization struck—this wasn't just a casual meeting; it was a reunion with someone who had once been the center of your world.
Once you stepped inside the restaurant Joel told you about, you were faced with reality. You were a married woman, going to have lunch not with another man who was your ex-boyfriend but with the love of your life. Your heart was beating so hard against your ribcage that you almost felt how your bones crashed at the impact.
You stopped at the entrance; your face was heating up. You wanted to leave, but before you could even make up your mind, those brown eyes found you, and you couldn't turn away.
Breathe in, breathe out.
One step, then another step.
It seemed like hours, but there you were, in front of the boy with brown eyes who put a bandage on your knee when you fell on the pavement at 5 years old. You were there in front of the teenager who kissed you at seventeen on a random night after doing homework in your bedroom.
You had decided to conquer the world—or at least the little corner of it that belonged to your shared imagination. As you ran through the streets, giggles and laughter echoing, it happened—the inevitable collision with the ground. Your knees met the pavement, and the sting of scraped skin sent tears streaming down your cheeks.
That's when Joel appeared, like a knight in a tiny superhero cape. His mom, hearing the commotion, had rushed him outside to play. In his hand, he held a box of colorful, cartoon-themed band-aids. With the unwavering confidence of a five-year-old, he approached you.
"Don't cry, okay? I've got something to fix you up," Joel declared, his eyes wide with sincerity.
As he carefully placed a band-aid on your scraped knee, something shifted. It was more than just a simple act of putting on a band-aid; it was the beginning of a connection that would thread through the fabric of your lives for years to come.
"See, all is better!" Joel announced, grinning proudly as if he had just mended the universe. “I’m Joel,” he said happily. “What’s your name?”
You were surprised and speechless; you felt enamored by the kid in front of you, but in your brain, the boy was still gross.
Joel's expression mirrored a mix of surprise and recognition. For a moment, the world seemed to pause as you both stood there, caught in the gravity of your intertwined past.
But it seemed to be the night you were back in the house he had bought with the help of his parents, where you were supposed to grow old together. It looked like that night you came back, hoping to begin again.
But it wasn't, and time didn't stop because two lovers couldn't survive in the currents of the sea.
"Hi, doe," he greeted you, standing up from his seat.
Doe.
"Joel," you greeted back, gracing a small smile.
"Lovie" is forbidden now.
"Please, take a seat," he said, signaling at the seat in front of him.
You didn't know how to react, what to do, or what to say, so you sat on the chair, trying to ease your heart's beating.
Joel's gaze never left your form; instead, it traveled down your figure, but the golden band on your finger stopped his curious gaze, and somehow he felt the urge to cry.
He had always pictured the shiny rock he had bought for you back those years ago, wrapped around your finger.
If he had told you he spent those late nights doing extra work only to buy that piece of jewelry for you, perhaps you would be the one wearing it now, and in this situation, it would be one of those moments you share lunch between your work schedules.
But that shiny ring wrapped echoes of missed opportunities, and the haunting what-ifs painted a poignant portrait of a love that had slipped through his fingers.
You had been waiting, the anticipation mingling with worry as the hands of the clock inched forward. The scent of a hastily prepared dinner lingered in the air, growing colder with each passing minute. Joel's absence, became a palpable presence in the room.
As the door finally creaked open, revealing Joel's figure in the dim light, a wave of emotions crashed over you. The relief of his arrival was quickly overshadowed by the frustration that had been building within.
"Joel, do you have any idea what time it is?" you snapped, the words escaping before you could temper the edge in your voice.
Joel's expression shifted, caught off guard by the sudden confrontation. "I lost track of time at work. I'm sorry," he offered, attempting to diffuse the tension.
The apology, however, fell on ears numbed by the repetition of similar excuses. The words that followed, laden with accusations and frustrations, transformed the night into a battleground of emotions. The promises made in the glow of love were replaced by the harsh reality of unmet expectations.
"I can't do this, Joel. I can't keep waiting for you every night," you uttered your voice a mix of exhaustion and hurt.
He sighed, running a hand through his hair in a gesture of frustration. "I'm doing all of this for us. I'm working hard to provide for our future."
He had never sold the ring; he couldn't do it, thinking you would have come back to your home and built your story from the cracked fragments.
But he had made a mistake; however, that mistake that made you slip through his fingers brought his daughter to him, and he couldn’t find the strength to blame that night anymore.
And he thought that for you, it may have been the same; you have had a daughter too, and he knows that you love her more than life itself.
It was almost poetic; the mistakes that had separated you had, in a strange twist of fate, become the catalyst for a reunion. The bond between Joel and his daughter, the same bond you had with Tara, seemed to mirror the intricate threads that wove your lives together once again.
“So, how have you been?” he began asking.
“I thought you wanted to talk about our daughters,” you replied, deflecting the conversation to the common ground that had brought you back together.
Joel's eyes held a glimmer of nostalgia. "Come on, Doe, you know I care about you."
“Please don’t call me that,” you pleaded in almost a whisper.
Joel's expression shifted, a mix of realization and regret flickering across his features. "I'm sorry," he apologized, the sincerity in his voice evident. "I didn't mean to.”
“But I’ve been fine.” You finally said that, looking at him.
“I’m glad,” he said. “I can’t help but be surprised about you being Tara’s mother."
“Why? Is it too hard to believe I’m a mother?”
Joel's eyes softened, and he shook his head. "No, it's not that. It's just... it's surreal, you know? Seeing you as a mother, I mean, Tara is the same age as Sarah.”
“I got pregnant a few months after we..."
“We broke up,” he said, ending the sentence for you.
“Yes. I met Dwight one night, and I got pregnant.”
“You got over things soon, then,” he added in an undertone.
“What does that mean?” You asked in a defensive tone.
Joel sighed, a mixture of emotions playing across his face. "I didn't mean it like that. It's just... seeing you move on so quickly, it's
"No, tell me!” you exclaimed. “Do you think it was going to be easy for me to stay with you while you take care of another woman who was carrying your baby? 2
“Yet, you still had a daughter with another man.”
“So what? It was forbidden for me to hook up with a guy because I was fucking broke. Yes, I ended up pregnant, but...
“But what?” he inquired.
“It should have been you!" You cried, not knowing why you were acting so childish. "It was always supposed to be you." You repeated, calmer, "Since we were seventeen, I picture you being the father of my child."
Joel's gaze held a mix of surprise and remorse, realizing the depth of your emotions. "Doe, I never meant to hurt you. I had my own struggles, and I made mistakes."
"It's not about the mistakes, Joel," you said, wiping away a tear. "It's about the dreams we had and how they shattered. I loved you, and I imagined a future with you.
The silence that followed was suffocating, filled with the weight of unsaid words and the echoes of a shared past. The restaurant seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of you in a bubble of unresolved emotions.
“You know this is repeating again,” you chuckled between tears. “I’m here with you while I’m crying all over again. I had to leave my job and move back to the city that throws the past in my face, and I can’t find a job."You covered your face with your hands.
Joel's eyes held a mixture of empathy and regret as he listened to your words. The ache of the past lingered in the air, a haunting reminder of the dreams that had slipped through your fingers.
"I wish I could change it all," Joel confessed, his voice heavy with the weight of shared regrets. "I never wanted you to leave, and seeing you hurt now... it hurts me too."
"But we can't go back," you replied with a resigned tone in your voice. "We're both different people now, living different lives. Maybe it's time to accept that some wounds don't fully heal."
“But we can be civil to each other, at least for our daughter’s sake,” he said, his voice soft.
You looked at him, your tear-streaked face reflecting a mixture of pain and acceptance. For a moment, you considered his words, acknowledging the shared responsibility of raising daughters who were connected by a blossoming friendship.
"Yeah," you agreed, a weary smile on your face. "We owe it to them to be civil, to show them that even when things don't work out, people can still be respectful and caring."
Joel nodded, a somber understanding passing between you. At that moment, you both recognized the importance of setting aside personal grievances for the sake of your daughters.
“You know? About the job, Tommy and I need an assistant.”
Your eyes widened at Joel's unexpected offer; the surprise was evident on your face. The mention of a job opportunity brought a glimmer of hope amid the emotional turbulence. It was as if a door, long thought closed, cracked open with the possibility of a new beginning.
"An assistant?" you repeated, the idea taking a moment to sink in. "Are you serious?"
Joel nodded, a faint smile playing on his lips. "Yeah, I am. We're expanding, and having you would be nice.”
"I appreciate the offer," you finally said, your voice cautious. "But-
“Just think about it; if you want the job, you can call me tomorrow or go to our office," Joel added, his tone sincere.
“You know what? He asked after your silence, leaning into the table, "You are still looking at me with the same eyes you did before.”
You blinked, caught off guard by his observation. There was a moment of vulnerability in his eyes—a flicker of the past that hadn't entirely dissipated. The connection between you, despite the years and the changes, lingered in the unspoken words that floated in the air.
"I don't know what you mean," you replied, attempting to mask the emotions that swirled within.
Joel chuckled softly, a nostalgic warmth in his gaze. "Doe, you always had this way of seeing through me. Even now, those eyes of yours... they haven't changed."
"I'm married."
“So what? Can’t you have friends? He asked.
“What about Sarah’s mother? Wouldn’t she get mad at you for being with your ex-girlfriend?"
“That’s funny because we’re not together,” he confessed with a weird smile on his face. “We never were together. After Sarah was born, she left us.”
The revelation hung in the air, a mix of surprise and confusion settling between you. The complexity of his past mirrored your own, and in that shared vulnerability, there was an unspoken understanding.
"I'm sorry to hear that," you offered, genuine sympathy in your voice.
"It's okay," Joel replied, a shrug accompanying his words. "She is married to another man, and she had a son, but I won because I had Sarah.”
“It’s fun how our daughters brought us together,” you said calmly.
"It's true," Joel acknowledged, a wistful smile playing on his lips. Our daughters seem to be the common thread weaving through our lives now."
You smiled, feeling butterflies dancing inside your stomach. The closeness to Joel felt foreign yet so familiar, and all the sentiments making your way through your heart were there again, suffocating you.
“I should get going,” you said, out of the blue.
“But you haven't eaten yet.”
“I know, but it’s getting late, and I have to go back to my house.”
"Okay,” he said, knowing you were making a lie to run away again, yet he didn’t pressure you.
"I appreciate you taking the time to talk," Joel said, breaking the silence. "And about the job, just think it over. No pressure. Whatever you decide, I'm here for you, even if it's just as a friend."
“Thank you, Joel,” you smiled.
And when you walked away to leave the restaurant, you stopped by the door just to have a second look at him, and when you turned, he was looking at you just as you knew he would.
You smiled at him, and he smiled back at you, mouthing a quiet "take care" in a language only your interlocked gazes understood.
And once you stepped outside, he was left in the restaurant, following you with his eyes.
You weren't the mother of his friend's daughter, but the girl in two ponytails was crying because of a scratch on her knee.
You were once his best friend,
You were once his lover, but that word was a small portion of what you were to him. No, you weren't his lover, but his twin flame that painted every single day of his life blue—the flame that never allowed him to dream about anybody else but you.
And you were the love of his life.
But Joel would do anything to get back on the first step, just to keep you close. He would rather have you back as his best friend than not have you anymore, even if his heart hurts in the process.
You were never his, but he felt the string pulling you together, just like the unbreakable chain you had hanging around your neck since he had memories of you, and he was going to do things right this time because he wasn't able to play pretend knowing there was no gap between you anymore.
You drove around the city for an hour straight, navigating through the streets. Joel used to drive you around when trying to ease your mood after fights with your parents.
You had taken your love and packed it in a tiny little box to protect your heart from breaking.
And when you stopped outside your house, you cried. You sobbed like a little girl waking up from a nightmare. Joel still echoed in your mind, and you accepted that you would never be able to let that part of your life go, so you sobbed, and in that moment of vulnerability, you allowed yourself to grieve for what was lost.
“Pretty girls shouldn’t cry,” Joel said when you didn’t say your name after his introduction.
As the tears subsided, you took a deep breath, the weight in your chest easing slightly, and you stepped out of your car and walked to your house.
The key turned in the lock, the door creaked open, and you stepped into the coldness of your home. You thought about the offer Joel talked to you about, but accepting would be a suicide, and as tempting as the invitation seemed at the edge of your consciousness. However, spending more hours of the day seeing him seemed like being unfaithful to your husband.
As you walked into the living room, Tara glanced up from her phone, and you noticed the concern in her eyes.
"Hi, mom," Tara said, greeting you with a smile on her face.
"Hey, sweets," you said, smiling back at her.
"How was it with Joel?" she asked, setting aside her phone.
"It was... complicated," you admitted, sinking onto the couch beside her.
Tara placed a supportive hand on your shoulder. "Complicated how?"
"He offered me a job," you explained, "and it's not an easy decision to make."
"A job? Why?" Tara asked, her curiosity piqued.
"He thought it could be a good opportunity for us," you replied, choosing your words carefully.
Tara's eyes widened in realization.
“To rekindle our friendship,” you said, before she thought badly of you.
"Are you considering it?"
You sighed, grateful for your daughter's understanding. "I don't know, sweetheart. It's a lot to think about. It's not just a job; it's a connection to our past, to him."
Tara nodded thoughtfully. "Well, whatever you decide, I'm here for you. Just make sure it's what you want.”
“And what about your dad?” you asked
“He is not your boss."
Tara's straightforward response made you chuckle. "No, he's not. But he's my husband, and I should consider his feelings too."
Tara rolled her eyes. "Mom, you're allowed to have a life outside of being a wife.”
You admired Tara's maturity, appreciating the clarity in her perspective. "You've grown into a wise young woman, you know that?"
A hint of a smile touched Tara's lips. "Well, I've had a good teacher." She leaned in for a hug, and you embraced her, thankful for the bond you shared.
You found yourself alone with your thoughts. The house was quiet, and the decision about Joel's job offer lingered in the air like a delicate whisper. You knew it wasn't just about work; it was about revisiting a past that had shaped you in ways you couldn't deny.
Later, after Tara had gone to do her homework, you found yourself alone with your thoughts. The house was quiet, still not in sight of Dwight coming home, and the decision about Joel's job offer lingered in the air like a delicate whisper. You knew it wasn't just about work; it was about revisiting a past that had shaped you in ways you couldn't deny.
Taking a deep breath, you picked up your phone and dialed Joel's number. The call rang for a few moments, and then his voice filled the silence. "Hello?"
"Hi, Joel. It's me," you said, the hesitation evident in your voice.
"Doe?" he responded, surprised.
"What did I say about calling me that?" you asked, with a tiny smile on your face.
“Right. I’m sorry”
"I've been thinking about your job offer. Can we meet tomorrow at your workplace to talk about it?"
A brief pause followed, and then Joel replied, "Of course, I'll text you the address.”
"Okay,” you said. “See you tomorrow, then.”
“See you tomorrow,” he replied. “Take care.”
The call ended, leaving you with a mix of anticipation and uncertainty about what was coming into your life again.
Towards the end of the conversation, Tommy glanced at Joel with a skeptical smile on his face. "Do we really need an assistant?" he inquired, unaware of his brother's hidden intentions.
"No," Joel replied, a smile playing on his lips. "But we're going to have one."

Trailer park Steve AU part 63
part 1 | part 62 | tumblr masterlist | ao3
cw: references to canonical horror. short update today while i restructure some stuff in the next scene <3
“I’m staying with him,” Steve says, toeing a weed in the soft soil. Testing the give. Thinks maybe he’ll be doing that for the rest of his life.
“Uh,” Robin objects. They’re at the top of the hill again, halfway to the car — everyone but Eddie, who refused to leave the boathouse after telling them in horrific detail how a cheerleader floated up to the ceiling and popped like a cheap balloon, and whose pale, frightened face Steve can see staring at them through a grimy window, two black dots hardly daring to blink.
“Steve.”
“Huh?”
Max calls him a total space-case.
Robin groans up at the sky. "As much as we would all love to have a spooky sleepover with you two under a tarp—”
“Mm, would we love that?” Dustin wonders.
“—I'm not so sure our parents would be too thrilled about us not coming home when there's a freaky evil killer magician on the loose!"
Max snorts at that; mutters under her breath. “My mom probably wouldn’t mind.”
Dustin whines, “Mine would!”
Three people turn in unison to lay into him for being a dick, but he’s already holding up his hands in surrender, cringing so hard it folds his face like crumpled paper. “Sorry,” he winces. “Sorry. That was rude.”
“Yep,” Max agrees with a flat smack of her lips.
Eddie's still waiting by the window.
Steve just nods at them — arms folded, shoulders broad. "Dustin’s right.” He turns to Robin. “You both are.”
“Thank you,” she sighs, the sound long and airy, sweet with relief that he's seen reason.
She takes a wide step toward the car.
Steve says, “Which is why I'm staying here, and you're all going home."
Her foot falls back down to the ground; legs stretched in a standing split, shoes slipping on wet grass. “Oh, my god." This sigh is sour. "Oh, my god, of course you are.”
“We’re not leaving you,” says Dustin.
“Wasn’t asking,” Steve replies.
Robin lets out a strangled noise of frustration and shimmies herself upright. "Steve, please!" She marches over. "I know you’re all” —her hands come up around her head, voice warbling; wooOoo-ooh— “about your boyfriend-slash-not-boyfriend-slash-whatever being in danger, and I get that, babe, I really do, but I don't! Know how! To drive!"
Steve turns to Max.
She’s looking right at them, mouth pinched in a flat line over the laugh she's holding back. Restrained as ever, but Steve can see the glimmer of excitement at the edge of her expression — the subtle twitch of her nostrils, the muscle jumping in her jaw.
I've driven it before.
"...Do not," he warns as he presses his keys into her palm; closes her fist around the metal, "fuck this up."

Pregnant Reader - Part 4
Cravings (For Food, For Melissa)
Thank you to everyone who has liked and commented and reblogged this series so far (and an extra thank you to those of you who have even asked for more!)
What started out as a one shot has now turned into a little 5 part series. I'm not entirely sure when I'll manage to finish part 5, but I'll get there! (And to those of you who left prompts - I will also get there with them!)
Anyway, enough rambling - links to the previous parts of this little mini series below and part 4 under the cut. :)
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
You smile as Melissa puts your lunch bag down on the table in front of you, chuckling as promptly turns her chair around to face the opposite way before sitting down. It wasn’t the first time. At home there had been a number of occasions when the combinations you had been craving had made her want to vomit.
Barb, sat at the table with you both, watches with interest. “Did you two argue?”
“Nope,” replies Melissa. “I just don’t wanna see this.”
The other woman continues to watch as you open up your lunch, lifting the lids on the various containers within and starting to create your cravings masterpiece.
“That…puts my cravings to shame,” admits the kindergarten teacher. “That…”
“Is an abomination to all that is edible,” finishes the red head.
You just smile as you take a bite of your creation. Admittedly, your smile is aimed more at the fact that as disgusting as Melissa finds it, she’s the one who packed your lunch that day, albeit packing the components separately. She loves you, but putting those ingredients together is something she just won’t do for anyone.
*
“You are gonna love me!” grins Melissa as she closes the front door behind her.
“I already do!” you call through from the sofa where you’re trying to get comfortable.
“I got ‘em!” she grins as she appears in the doorway, waving the bag of chips at you. Propped on her hip she also holds an almost overflowing grocery bag. “I got ‘em all!”
“I do love you,” you manage through the tears that threaten to steal your words. You had been unable to settle, finally getting out of bed some time around 2am. It had been the opening of closing of every cupboard in the kitchen that roused a sleepy Melissa around an hour later.
Half asleep she had wrapped herself around you, her front pressed to your back, eventually cajoling you into admitting what you were looking for. Barely a few minutes later she had donned her jacket and had her car keys in hand.
“Melissa no, you can’t go out at this time.”
She had merely smirked. “Either I try and get these or we both you you’ll be pacing the floors all night and I won’t be able to sleep either.” With a peck to your cheek, she was gone.
But now she was back, dropping down onto the sofa next to you. You smile as she tucks herself into your side, kissing the top of her head. “How many stores did you have to go to to find them?”
She shrugs. “A few.”
You shake your head, knowing that a few probably meant every store that was open within a five mile radius. “You know I would have survived without them, right?”
“Yeah, but you wouldn’t be happy without them,” she says, reaching to open the bag of chips. She pops one in her mouth, screwing up her face at the flavour. “And you can have all of them.”
You chuckle. “Sure you don’t want another one?”
“Wouldn’t wanna deprive you and that little Tesoro you’re carrying,” she replies, her head coming to rest on your shoulder as her arm snakes around and comes to rest protectively across your bump.
It melts your heart every time she calls the baby by a fond little nickname, and she has plenty of them. The closer to the time of her arrival it gets, the more Melissa seems to do it, and you’re quite sure she’s unaware she’s doing it.
Feeling Melissa leaning more heavily against you, you twist your head to catch a look at her face. Eyes closed and mouth slightly open, she’s already in a deep sleep. With a smile, you reach and manage to catch the edge of the blanket that had been draped over the arm of the couch. Tucking it around the two of you, you try and crunch as quietly as you can as you continue to tuck into the fruits of Melissa’s midnight cravings snack run.
*
You’re aware of what you’re doing, almost painfully so. And you also know that Melissa has to have noticed it to. Neither of you would be considered the cuddliest of people, but you’re more tactile with each other than you are with anyone else. At this point, the touches exchanged between you are almost second nature, a hand on your back here, playing with the ends of Melissa’s flaming hair as she sits close, her hand resting on your thigh if you’re sat next to her. It’s never anything too obvious, but subtle and reassuring.
Or at least, it had been reassuring until you started to feel the effects of certain hormones. You had read that there was a possibility that during certain phases of your pregnancy when you might feel more horny than you normally would. You’d shrugged it off. So you might feel a little more turned on than usual, nothing you couldn’t handle.
What you hadn’t been prepared for was being horny all the time. Every little touch felt like it burned. The friction of your own pants could be enough to drive you to distraction. It was absurd. Humiliating. Especially when you had never felt less attractive in your life.
You felt huge and gross and swollen and sore. You try to tell yourself that the way Melissa looks at you has not changed, but when you look in the mirror, it’s difficult. You look like an inflated version of yourself. Your curves feel grossly emphasised by the ever growing life inside of you. It doesn’t help that nothing feels like it fits. Or at least, none of your usual go to outfits. No, anything you wear now comes from the maternity section and makes you feel fat and frumpy.
It's that feeling that has you shying away from Melissa’s touches, finding reasons to keep your distance. You hate it. Miss her even when you’re laying right next to her. In bed one night, you feel her press a kiss to the back of your clothed shoulder where you lay facing away from her.
“You want anything before I turn the light off?”
The way you shrug away from her doesn’t go unnoticed, and as you turn to answer her question you clearly see the hurt on her face before she manages to hide it. She forces a smile and shifts away from you. This time, however, rather than letting her, you reach out and catch her arm.
With no small effort, you sit up, turning to face her. “I’m sorry.”
“What are you sorry for?” she asks, the false smile never leaving her lips.
“’Lissa,” you sigh. “I know you’ve noticed. And I’m sorry. It’s not because I don’t want you to touch me, it’s because I feel…I feel like I’m on fire! Every little touch sets me ablaze and I feel like I’m going to explode!” You take a deep breath, stilling your gesturing hands. “I want it so bad, but I don’t want you to feel like I’m using you. Like this is all hormones and you’re just scrathing an itch. But I also don’t want to want to like I do because I feel a mess. A huge, swollen, sore, gross, sweaty mess.”
You’re not sure when the tears started but by the end of your little tirade your breath is coming in hiccupping gulps and you’re sniffling as tears stream down your face. You don’t fight when Melissa tugs you to her side, accepting the handkerchief she holds out in front of you.
“You know I still find you beautiful, right?” she asks.
Your response is a snort. A very ugly, wet snort. “I’m a snotty, snivelling mess,” you grumble.
She shakes her head, shifting so you can see her face. “No, you’re beautiful and I love you.” She leans in to kiss you. It’s soft and it’s gentle until suddenly its not. She leaves you breathless, your hands clutching her shirt. “Still feel like you’re on fire?”
“All the damn time,” you hiss.
She kisses you again but can feel your hesitation. You’re holding back, and she knows it. Twisting to face you, she leans her forehead against your own. “Let me show you how beautiful you are to me.”
You hesitate still, trembling with need. Pulling back, you look into those green eyes you love so much. See the fire there. See the love. “Please,” you whisper, whimpering when she presses her lips to yours once more.
You felt you should have known she’d make you feel amazing. And not just physically. She’s constantly checking in, reassuring you. Somehow, she knows that tonight, you need her close. That you need the comfort of her lips on your own, to be able to see everything she feels written plainly on her face. It takes a little bit of figuring out, finding new ways that work, experimenting with new angles, all the while she delights in how much more sensitive you are. You take your own delight in the still being able to please her, revelling in each sound that pours from her lips, in every hitch of her breath, of how she clings to you as she comes undone.
For the first time in weeks, as you lie together afterwards, you feel settled. With Melissa pressed against your back, her hand resting against your bump you are sated and settled, as is she, and the life growing within you. “I’m sorry I didn’t just talk to you before.”
She nuzzles against the back of your neck. “You talked to me tonight.”
You cover her hand with your own, lacing your fingers together. “But I should have talked to you before, not pushed you away. That wasn’t fair on you. You’ve had to deal with all my other cravings, now you have to deal with my cravings for you too.”
You feel her smirk against your skin as she chuckles. “I watched you put lime jello in a salad the other day, believe me, this craving is way easier to handle than some of the things I’ve watched you eat recently.”

OK OK SO!!
First off!!! Hello fellow davejade enjoyer i see you. Second off—what sort of things do you wish you could’ve seen with these two in canon :0. Could be expansion on canon scene, arc direction, or just a new scene entirely. for me personally I would’ve loved to see some genuine fighting collaboration going on. I felt VERY teased with all the magic combo’s in collide.
Third! I know they do a lot of music collaboration in canon, and I’ve seen some things with them making a band together post canon. What sort of sound do you think they’d have/what artist do you think they’d sound like?
Thank you :))
okay god theres so much i wish was expanded on in canon with regard to dave and jade
this post is swan dive into homestuck meta and took me over a day to write. so i would appreciate feedback or discussion on this if you'd like, reblogs appreciated!
despite this question being posed as davejade related, my answers here are actually relevant for anyone interested in homestuck meta as well.
it’s just recently come to my attention that there are a a handful of people on twitter who are vocal davejade dislikers. i didnt know it was actually disliked until i looked it up on twitter, i honestly thought it was a joke blown out of proportion but no they exist! it surprised me a lot to see people think they "lack chemistry". not only because knowing what i know about them thats a ridiculous insinuation, but also i haven't seen the vitriol on tumblr. probably because we can actually poast about it on here in an unabridged manner which thus enables better, deeper critical analysis and engagement with the media. i think also people forget that dave strider is canonically bisexual and are too yaoipilled + facing the consequences of the epilogues to even give davejade a serious look/analysis. (dave dates terezi and karkat in separate timelines, thinks jane is hot, thinks roxy is a babe but shoves it down when he discovers she’s his ectomom lmfao. davesprite—an extension of dave himself—dated jade! but i'm going to cover that in more depth in this post since theres a lot of misunderstandings about the nature of that relationship in fanon.)
(as a side note according to what some people have told me in inbox and what ive seen lol i think that ive been inadvertently been getting people into davejade. it's all in my davejade tag here in chronological order if you'd like to get a Whiff. be sure to read the tags on posts in there too!)
even though theres a lot in this post as it is, it doesn't cover everything ive talked about wrt davejade, and i think it would benefit readers to have complementary posts alongside this for the full picture with stuff it doesn't cover. there's a ton about why theyre cute and why i think they work well together in that tag.
here's some highlight analysis posts, but be sure to check the tag because there's a more in there:
post a / post b / post c / post d / post e / post f (← one of my favorite ask responses ive ever gotten)
i think a huge chunk of the issue has to do with how the narrative handles dave and jade. one of the most damning things to me is how glossed over their canon interactions were in act 5 despite them collaborating on one of the most important things in the story. i haven't talked about this yet but i'm going to do so here. because they’re put on the backburner by the focus of the narrative during act 5, people who don’t read carefully will miss the implications that are there all along in canon but easily passed over.
under the cut ive separated it into multiple parts
1. Jade’s Quest: What Frog Breeding Entails
this is an analysis examining apart exactly what jade and dave did while frog breeding. i wrote it while high which was extremely enlightening and it allowed me to comprehend it and hopefully explain it in an understandable way. i also discuss how shitty the lack of on-screen communication between jade and dave was for this part and the next.
2. Jade & Dave vs. Jack Noir
ive discussed this one before on my blog so it's not as dense (see davejade tag). but i still sewed the gifs together and discuss how unfortunate this was to be be delegated to a banner at the top of mspa and the neglect of that whole arc despite the outcomes of it being reissued by characters thousands of pages later
3. Davesprite and Grimbark Jade
i get into davesprite's head here and try to make his motivations about the breakup clear to the extent that i can infer because jesus fuck i love these characters way too much ive known them for a decade i understand their core personality structures and why they think what they do and what is most likely to happen when extrapolating? i also talk about how grimbark jade changed the way the fandom perceives their relationship, leaving davejade on a low note instead of a high note. and then hs epilogues had even worse consequences for davejade but i wont get into it because it was character assassination all around and doesnt deserve my time or yours. but if you wanna know what i think, here
4. The music question
where actually answer this ask like it's an ask and not an essay
1. Jade’s Quest: What Frog Breeding Entails
i wish we could have seen what collecting frogs entailed for the two of them. what exactly were they doing? jade’s quest is one of the most interesting.
before i start i want to take a tangent and say the frog breeding reminds me of back in 2020-2021 when i would breed hybrid flowers in animal crossing new horizons to get a very specific gene sequence for these flowers to not only use to breed for hybrids, but to get known gene sequences that i could use to “check” the genes of other flowers. the goal is to get two parent flowers whose sequences when bred would make a specific phenotype 100% of the time.
this sounds complicated but here’s what i did for the lilies:
(“rare island” refers to one of the first acnh patches that removed a nook miles island from the pool that had hybrid versions of your native flower of very specific phenotypes for each color. i wrote out the breeding chains to get parents that would always breed that exact flower found on the rare hybrid nmt island that is no longer available.)
the cleanup ALL TO GET the white 2-2-2 lily looked like this. and after i got white 2-2-2 lily it was smooth sailing
after all that i could use the orange 2-2-0 lilies and white 2-2-2 lilies made in the black lily process and get rare island orange 2-2-1 lilies 100% of the time. in mendelian genetics these numbers (2-2-1) are quite literally RR-YY-Ww.
RR-YY-ww (orange) x RR-YY-WW (white) = RR-YY-Ww (orange: heterozygous Ww gene)
and all that effort into getting white 2-2-2 lilies enables me to get it over and over again now. i don’t have to repeat that process to get rare island pink lilies. all i need to do for the pink 2-0-2 lilies is breed two default bag red lilies (2-0-1) together. 50% will be red (2-0-1) lilies, 25% will be black 2-0-0 lilies, and the last 25% will be pink (2-0-2) lilies.
anyway sorry back to the main point. FROG BREEDING. it just reminded me of it. now that i think of it the frog breeding process also reminds me a lot of artbreeder back from when AI was only a fun little toy 4-5 years ago
ok so have a look at what kanaya says about what jade must do. this is the coolest quest imo because of how it progresses and how long it actually is
here’s how it works. remember back in act 2, when the wayward vagabond needed to tie a longer cable to descend down the ship (and refused to give up the ones that made up his mayoral sash)? he used the appearifier in the ship to appearify the extra cable across the gap to his location? that’s how the appearifier normally works when when it’s locked to the present. it’s very straightforward.
when jade appearifies a frozen frog, it shows us this exact thing. she appearified the actual frog itself (the same way WV appearified the actual cable across the gap) to her exact location. it can get the frog out of the ice in the way WV could untrap serenity from the amber. if something’s destiny wouldn’t otherwise be changed, it will not be paradoxified, it will just simply itself be warped to that location, with precise carving if it is somehow trapped inside of something else.
if you could appearify it to your location right now, you wouldnt be able to take it out the appearifier’s crosshairs in person later to alter its destiny because the object won’t be there at that time. it wouldve been with you the entire time. unless you decide to take the appearified item back to that location so that you could appearify it in the past, but that’s the most pointless time loop ever and doesn’t change its destiny.
for this icicle frog jade and dave weren’t capable of changing its destiny anyway, because it was completely encased in ice, and just didn’t bother to go after it. partially because it was with jade at the appearifier the entire time anyway and she can’t exactly put it back in there in the future. the point is, besides jade appearifying it to her location, the frog had no other possible routes of destiny. in that part of lofaf where she appearified the frozen frog from, the ice is too deep to get anything out of it (other than appearifying it) and i’m not sure the forge would have melted it in time before their reckoning ended anyway.
the goal of jade and dave is to target frogs on the appearifier screen and trust that their future selves follow through in altering the frog’s destiny. if so, then the frog’s paradox slime will appear instead and its genes would be collected in addition to creating offspring between multiple paradox clone frog genes. then, dave and jade would necessarily have to go out adventuring and find the frog so that they end up following through for their past selves.
if i understand correctly, jade is creating all the frogs on her planet that grow up with manually modified genes. these frogs must be genetically altered from their parents so that the frogs she creates don’t grow up to become one of their parents (as they’d be identical). the mutant offspring frogs “generation A” she ectobiologizes will eventually mature from tadpoles to frogs, assisted by dave’s time travel. then she will eventually target “generation A” with the appearifier to get their paradox slime to fuse with some other frogs’ paradox slime and create new slightly altered frogs “generation B” (and then follow through on altering the “generation A” frogs’ destiny so their slime and genes can be paradoxified by jade and dave’s past selves). repeat until the genes are fine tuned for the genesis frog.
this is why i compared it to my breeding in animal crossing. getting the genesis frog reminds me of the blue rose paths. i worked with the garden council back in the day and i used backwardsN’s “cesspool” method, except i honestly gotta say my white 2-2-2 lily thing was much more involved and carefully maneuvered in a way that i imagine frog breeding is more like. backwardsN’s “genepool method” was basically making a red-orange-black rose primordial soup and waiting for a blue rose to emerge out of it, just increasing the chances seeing a blue rose sprout the next day after watering with each generation of offspring. you KNOW my ass was using time travel, even if i happened to get lucky and got a blue rose without even finishing the big turtle plot. without time travel, most players (95%) will get their first blue rose before these # of days. (open up advanced tag)
there must be so many daves running around to help her going back in time all within the span of a few hours while still having their own linear, older timelines that are much longer than the “time stage” they’re actually functioning in. this sounds complicated but it’s not. think of this “time stage” as analogous to the 3 days until the moon falls in majoras mask. it’s the “time window” all the time travel takes place within, but link doesn’t become a day younger when he travels to a day ago. the timeline of his “self” is older but is kept within the confines of the 3-day timeframe. similarly, in tears of the kingdom, two master swords exist simultaneously for most of history, but the one on the light dragon’s head (who was above the cloud barrier before the upheaval btw) is further ahead on its own linear timeline: it starts as the other, pre-gloomed master sword → broken by gloom → sent to the past to be repaired → renewed over time, existing at the same time on the “time stage” as its own pre-gloomed past self but ahead on its own linear timeline
now imagine this but within the “time stage” of just a few hours within the same 24-hour period. kanaya says frog breeding ordinarily takes weeks. multiple daves can exist simultaneously because they’re operating in the same few-hour-timeframe but one can linearly be days ahead of another. it’s the exact same thing as breeding flowers in animal crossing for irl days but to your game it’s whatever date you have it set to. your irl progress isn’t lost if you go back a few days in settings. i’d often find a week in june to use as a “time stage” to loop through when it would rain at least one hour on each day of that week which would save me the hassle of watering my flowers every day before time traveling to the next.
it must’ve sucked for dave to hear jade say the same things over and over again. the novelty probably wore off pretty fast lol…… dave says he saw his future self fighting and dying to jack and knew that’s what he’d eventually have to do as well. every single dave at all points of his linear timeline understood that and it probably settled something horrible into his heart.
im imagining during the original run dave was thinking to himself: “im bored but cant alter anything about this without creating a doomed timeline. if i dont see my future self hugging jade then i cant hug her even though i really fuckin want to. note to future self: hug jade. aww shit look at me go guess i remembered. hell fucking yes cant wait for that to be me in a few hours” and gives a thumbs up
future dave pov, hugging jade and watching his past self give him a thumbs up from afar thinking to himself: “ahaha i remember exactly what i was thinking there” and gives a thumbs up
but anyway. goddamn. JADE AND DAVE. what did hussie do to you.
this is a goddamn atrocity.. what the hell man. i wish we could have at LEAST seen the text file jade sent to kanaya. we got to see ConversationWithAVeryStupidGirl.Txt but not daveisafunnyguy.txt?
i mean i GUESS the humor is delivered through this
and like, yeah that is pretty funny? but i feel like the single laugh this gives me is nothing compared to the joy i wouldve gotten out of seeing what dave has to say about the cloning apparatus for ants here and talking himself into circles about frog procreation enough to make not just gigglehouse jade laugh, but kanaya too
we spent so much time learning about the mechanics of the punch designix and hardly anything about creating the seed of the actual new universe. we learn about it through kanaya and karkat messaging jade, instead of dave and jade working that out through SHENANIGANS. even though this is JADE AND DAVE'S session. it’s fine that kanaya is helping them, as she should, but we’ve seen parallel pesterlog conversations before so i dont get why we didn’t get that here! jade and dave frog breeding is one of the most important events in homestuck, and yet it was terribly glossed over. everything in the story, their futures, are predicated on their success. not just in their unwinnable session, but the one they split up for 3 years and escape to.
at first i thought, maybe their lack of shown interaction has to do with hussie working out the intricacies of pesterlog/dialogue thing? as he once stated on tumblr:
shoshaumbay asked: In the intermission of act 6, it says that they get to talk. Does this mean that their guardians couldn’t talk to them before and that is why they left them notes all around their houses? The achievement badge only upgraded their ability to speak to each other as presented through the comic. I.e. it permitted them to speak to each other… WHILE WE WATCH! Do you think all the trolls were hanging out together, not talking at all? Or Dave and Jade were doing all that frog hunting without a single peep?? That’s ridiculous. On the other hand, abstraction weaves itself through the Homestuck reality, and it can be hard to pin down where abstraction is to be taken literally. The truth is, there is not much distinction between the layers of abstraction and the reality they are meant to stand for. John was both literally named on his 13th birthday, and not quite, because that’s silly. The guardians are both literally silent automatons, and not really, as there is indication through allusion they function as normal people too. And the kids went through a huge adventure, achieved immortal god status, and even then had to gain a few more levels just to gain the achievement of simple dialogue as a literal upgrade, as well as not literally, because that makes no sense. The reality is inseparable from the way the story is presented and the way the “game” is played. But those abstractions are also a facade for a more life-like reality beneath it as well.
then i realized, this is not only an arbitrary cop out that affects my enjoyment of the comic in retrospect because they wind up being able to talk later anyway and that makes me feel cheated in these moments, but also still actually awful within these parameters because hussie breaks his own rule here, proving he could have shown us dave and jade talking in person at any time regardless of needing the gift of gab achievement for us to watch them as readers. recall this is also the first time john and rose met in person (at least when rose wasn't asleep):
2. Jade & Dave vs. Jack Noir
this is where i take out my frustration over this being delegated to a banner at the top to the point where readers forgot it occurred.
(also i want yall to take a moment to acknowledge this ^)
youtube
i wish their time on lofaf frog breeding and fighting with jack was front and center and wasnt just in the banner at the top of the page. it makes it seem not as important when it completely was, considering that characters brought up what had happened in that scene multiple times.
it is significant because it is at that point that jack noir has killed all of the kids at least once. the only one left being jade who he refuses to kill due to bec’s loyalty
THIS IS WHAT THE REFRANCE (foreshadowing)
jack noir killed john on his quest bed which allowed him to ascend to god tier. then he killed john AGAIN but it wasn’t a heroic or just death so john was revived
jack killed grimdark rose. john smooched rose’s corpse, allowing her to take over on derse.
jack killed dave by redirecting jade’s bullets into dave’s body instead. jade smooched dave’s corpse, allowing him to take over on derse.
after jade shoots him through jack, he’s down for the count. she kisses him and he wakes up on derse; all he and rose have left of “themselves” in an existential sense are their dreamselves. they didnt know they were going to ascend to god tier delivering the tumor. they assumed they were just going to die like for real and not come back which is why dave went with rose since he didnt want her to die alone.
it was also an important point since her time spent with dave on lofaf is the first in-person contact jade has had with another living human since she was probably 4 years old with her grandpa.
for jack noir, we got [s] seer: desend and [S] ==> (3696) which were hella impactful. seeing jade and dave essentially go through the same thing but with an extended battle sequence honestly kinda warrants a flash in my mind. (the sad thing is that unite synchronization was originally written with those pages in mind (the track was originally called redshift) but of course malcolm brown couldnt have known what was going to happen unless hussie commissioned him for a specific track for a specific story beat, probably like whatever he did to coordinate cascade’s music with toby ahead of the 10/25/11 release of the flash and publication of volume 8 on bandcamp)
i think one of the worst parts is that entire conversations were referenced, but cut or never written.
this is a real forgotten homestuck fact: jade was completely freaking out after filling dave with bullets until karkat had talked her through it. very easily forgotten since even though it being referenced twice we never actually saw the conversation. (i overrode the black scratch background so it's easier to read)
wow thats so crazy i as a member of the audience dont in fact remember! would it have killed to write it my guy
and we find out thousands of pages later dave was thinking more about how it wouldve made jade feel to watch him die than knowing he was about to fucking die. if you even care btw
i wrote more about this here
3. Davesprite and Grimbark Jade
davesprite—an extension of dave himself—dates jade but breaks up because he feels inadequate at being the dave that he thinks jade deserves. NOT because they fought or anything. they were still on good terms. davesprite just felt inherently unlovable. john seemed more upset about the breakup frankly.
what davesprite did was because he thought it was in jade's best interest. there is nothing to suggest it was a fight / clash break up. they still seemed to be on good terms, davesprite asking where she went and all. jade says the breakup “is complicated” and “hes going through a lot of stuff”. given the context i think it's reasonable to assume that davesprite's thought process was: “we're coming up to the new session soon and youre going to meet up with dave again and i dont want to make shit awkward with you dating knockoff dave. you deserve to be with real dave instead so im gonna cut what we have going here in advance and distance myself from your life”
jade probably protested about saying how he's just as real as “real dave”, but davesprite made his decision already. im sure it wasnt easy for davesprite to break up either. with emotions running high (sadness, not anger) he probably just left to be alone and distance himself from jade, and seems to harbor guilt about it as we see in the log. that's probably why he wasn't at john's movie party. this is just speculation on my part but it doesnt seem in character for the breakup to be explosive because jade seemed more understanding than john. sad, but understanding.
i feel like a lot of people forget this. grimbark jade made it seem like davesprite did it to hurt her, or for this to mean that dave and jade are not actually good for each other, which is a wild mischaracterization of what happened but the one that stuck with the fandom nonetheless.
not only that, but davesprite's existence tragic and he's understandably depressed. after spending about a year in sburb (accounting for time travel) without john or jade, only to go back and give up your personhood to advance the alpha timeline and become forgotten is fucking crushing, and i think the breakup is also about davesprite coming to terms with that trauma, being okay with his existence as a sprite instead of being a bootleg stand-in for the dave that jade knew.
basically what vintagegamebro says,
it was such a tragic way for them to part for 3 years with no communication, and it was only proceeded by more tragedy because jade then had no one but davesprite to turn to, and davesprite needed anything but romance at that point
grimbark jade isn’t a good reflection of jade’s actual self. she pushed the mayor into lava for fucks sake which normal jade would never dream of doing, grimbark jade is straight up unhinged. i’m sure jade was hurt because all breakups hurt, but it was blown out of proportion (see how calm she was above a few days after the breakup?) because of Evilness. but also as @vintagegamebro mentioned it also felt somewhat … “off”? or out of left field? especially seeing what the nature of the breakup was from both sides in the above screenshots.
when dave says “theres no way i would have done that to you” i genuinely believe him. i have no reason not to believe him. look at him above asking for questions and clarification. thinking about how what davesprite did, a version of himself beyond his control and how it reflects on himself, i think it's obvious dave cares a lot about how jade feels about him
even after this confrontation in the game over timeline, dave laid down his fucking life to defend her corpse from the becs in he hope she could be revived by jane
and to think that after all this he still chose to save her, like always, probably knowing he had little to no chance, just because he cares for her, her life and who she is beyond this moment, really meant a lot for them. i really, really was mad that this would be the last time they would truly ever be together in a way that to me mattered
4. The music question
i wrote this post regarding instruments with this song in the back of my head if its anything. takes about 12 seconds to start after you press play for some reason
this too, closer to the “style”. i like imagining dave going apeshit on drums

Here you go, 10 spanking new fan art. Happy Thanksgiving! ✨🦃
Sorry I don't have anything Thanksgiving themed. Not sure if I ever will before the month ends. But dang, art block for a while ends up with you having ideas especially if you join in new fandoms.
Speaking of here is a lot of Kaufmo and Wammawink art. My contribution to the fandoms.
Don't tag any of this as ship thanks. I'm saying this just in case, I know it's not really needed but still. Also I hope that IDs work so that my words don't separate the art as much. And do I use a lot of blue? Because I feel like I do.
(explanation of how Kaufmo went back to "normal" will probably exist probably not so)
Rant👇
The only sucky part is that I drew one more piece of fan art and I've reached the limit to this post so I can't add it in until the next one.
On the bright side AJR's new album The Maybe Man and Jon Bellion's album The Human Condition got me on chokehold the entire month. Those probably inspired me too.
So yeah thanks for viewing my fan art and such. My brain thinks of more stuff and my motivation is active so I'm most likely gonna produce more fan art. Again thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!! I'm thankful for all of you! Cya in the next post or reblog! 👍✨💖

Hey, Seblainers! Hellooooo, everyone else!
After a seriously stressful few months, I'm finally getting a bit more back to normal and can breathe a bit more easily at last, so of course that means...it's time to decide when Seblaine Week 2024 will be held!
Now, the first poll is going to be a bit different, and let me explain why that is: I was absolutely flabbergasted by the success of 10 Days Of Seblaine, and once again would like to thank everyone who offered support and sent me such kind messages after my Mum was rushed into hospital so suddenly last year. As you all know, that meant I had to sadly postpone Seblaine Week 2023 from the original August dates, and after a vote, it was unanimously decided that we would have a 10 day event, that would comprise Seblaine Week 2023 AND Seblainiversary Weekend 2023, and it was held last November
I want to preface this next by saying that Seblainiversary Weekend 2024 will be unaffected this year and will be going ahead from Friday 8th November until midnight on Sunday 10th November 2024. So you can pop that one in your diaries, and the themes will be announced much nearer to the time.
However! I have actually received a lot of lovely messages (including, surprisingly, some from people who aren't technically even part of our tiny, (but always fierce!) Seblainer fandom, but followed along with the event), to say how much 10 Days Of Seblaine 2023 was enjoyed by you all, and the one thing I have been repeatedly asked is; can I please consider making our main Seblainer celebration a 10 day event from now on?
I honestly have no problem with that whatsoever, but I would probably take things on a year to year basis, asking the same question every May. For now, though, I want to make this entirely your decision, so the first poll has simply two options: Do you want a traditional 7 day Seblaine Week 2024, or do you want 10 Days Of Seblaine 2024?
Just to clarify; if the 10 day event is chosen, it will have 9 themes and a free day, and Seblainiversary Weekend 2024 will take place separately in November, as previously detailed above. Following the result of this first poll, and depending on whether we will be working with a 7 or a 10 day event, I'll post the various date choices before the end of May. The following week, we'll vote for our themes.
Please bear in mind that voting is restricted to one vote per person for the duration of the poll. The first poll will be open for voting from today until midnight GMT on Saturday May 11th, 2024.
P.S. I'm well aware that you are all still waiting for the 10 Days Of Seblaine Masterpost, and this will be completed and posted by mid-June. Thank you all for bearing with me during what was (and still often is!) a hectic and stressful time of upheaval. Please let me know if the poll doesn't work properly. Just send me a message or come off Anon and send me an Ask.
**Please note in advance that none of the nine 10 Days of Seblaine 2023 themes can be used for this year's event!**
Vote here, and please reblog and share this poll.
Love you all, and I am really looking forward to hosting our big event and seeing what all our insanely talented Seblainers come up with!

A chronological analysis on Twilight and Yor - Season 1 Wrap-Up
*This is a wrap-up post for my Twiyor analysis series. If you missed the Introduction/Part 1, click here*
----------
As some of you may know, I'm fairly new to the SxF fandom, having only started watching the anime in October of last year. But it didn't take long for me to become hyperfixated enough to binge the manga, start my own blog, and develop ideas for analysis posts.
I've always enjoyed meta writing for my favorite fandoms, and SxF is definitely one of those! While I like many things about the story and characters, the Forgers overall, especially Twiyor, are my favorite thing about it, so I wanted to focus my first analysis posts on them. During my early months in the fandom, I found lots of good analyses and was impressed by the amount of talented fan writers out there. But rather than write random stand-alone posts, I wanted to express all my thoughts in chronological order. I eventually came up with the idea for this post series in December of last year, and after spending a solid month of writing during most of my free time, I finally felt I had enough to begin posting on a weekly basis.
Now that I've come to the end of the season 1 posts, I want to express my sincerest thanks to everyone who read them, especially those who left nice comments and reblogs. Even for those of you who only left likes, I appreciate it! I pay attention to the notes on my blog and it always makes my day to see the same people interacting with each new post every week. It's especially gratifying when I see a new person come along and leave a like on each post in order, one after another! In the many fandoms I've been in over the years, I always write for myself and my own enjoyment first, regardless of whether other people will enjoy my writing too. But it's nice to know that other people can also appreciate how I interpret things.
So here's what's going to happen with the post series going forward…
Since I want to continue keeping the posts as manga spoiler-free as possible, I won't start releasing the next batch of posts until season 2 airs (it's scheduled to air in October). I'll most likely release part 19 and onward towards the middle or end of season 2's run. I already have a good idea of what manga chapters will be adapted and will get them queued up beforehand.
On that note, I did end up having to tag a few of the season 1 posts for manga spoilers. I tried to avoid it as much as possible; I only discussed manga spoilers if I felt not doing so would be a disservice to my analysis. However, once season 2 airs, all but part 18 should be safe for anime-only fans! (I'll go back to those posts and remove the spoiler tags)
At some point during or slightly before season 2's airing, I plan to reblog all of my Twiyor analysis posts in order. If I can get the timing right, I hope to reblog part 18 (the last season 1 post) right before my start date for the first season 2 post. I'll probably do the reblogs just a few days apart before doing weekly releases again when I get to the new posts (for the reblogs, I'll be using the hashtag "#reblog for season 2 hype")
I don't have any other big analysis posts planned until then, with one exception…I do plan to write a post about Anya. I originally wanted to include her in the chronological series, but since her character arc is simpler and more straight-forward compared to Twilight's and Yor's, I didn't have nearly as much to say about her and figured it'd be best to talk about her in a separate post. Not sure when I'll release that post but should be sometime before season 2 as well.
Guess that's all for now! Thank you again to everyone who read this post series and I look forward to more compelling discussions in season 2!

CHICON 2008 Request (and a tiny sample!)
This is a shot in the dark, but I thought I’d ask. Does anyone have a video of any quality, good or bad, that covers the below portions of the CHICON 2008 panels? I have videos for the vast majority of it, but there are a few small gaps annoying me and I'd love to fill them in. If you have something you’d be willing to let me use in my next set of enhanced con videos, please let me know. I would of course give you credit if I use them! Or anonymity if that's what you prefer. Even an audio file could be useful.
If you don't have anything but you're willing to reblog to increase visibility, that would be awesome too. I haven't had any success the few times I've tried to directly contact fans who were posting content back in these early days, so I don't think many are still out there, but I figure it doesn't hurt to ask.
Gap #1: The beginning of Jared’s solo panel, before he starts telling the story about his dogs sleeping with Jensen. I managed to find a very low-quality 30-second video near the beginning where he talks about the fan video that played, but it cuts off. The better-quality videos start just before Jared tells the dog story.
Gap #2: After the J2 panel, immediately after Jared finishes signing the posters and leaves the stage. The videos show Jensen clapping for Jared as he exits, but they cut off mid-clap. The next video picks up post-clap with Jensen saying, “Maybe we should wait ‘til he’s out of the room.” I think there are only a few seconds missing, not really enough to be annoyed by, but... 🤷♀️
Gap #3: At the very end of Jensen’s solo panel, as he’s getting ready to leave, he thanks the fans and talks about how many more viewers they've had that season. The last video cuts off before he finishes talking.
Other than that, I have a complete span of content for all three of their panels. It adds up to about 1.5 hours that will be split into 3 videos. I think the gaps are all short. I read through some fan reports and I didn’t see anything mentioned that wasn’t covered in the videos I have, so we're probably not missing anything big.
I'm only just starting the editing process on this set. so it will be a while before I have a new video to release. In case you missed it, I did publish the CHICON 2008 breakfast video earlier this week. Meanwhile, I’ll leave you with this tiny sample of one of the things I’ve wanted to do so many times while watching con videos.
I always go slightly bonkers when Jared and Jensen go off in separate directions on stage, because the camera can’t possibly follow both of them. I usually end up pulling up all the videos and trying to find one that follows each of them so I can flip back and forth between them. 🤣 Now I have the power to take two separate videos and show them simultaneously. This silly thing makes me very happy.
Context: this was at the end of the J2 panel. Jensen made a show of removing Jared's chair, and then Jared took Jensen's chair and replaced it with a smaller chair. It will be more coherent when you see the full video; I mainly wanted to highlight the split screen parts for this post.

Secrets & Desires- Part 1
A/N: Please let me know what you think! Reblogs and likes are nice but feedback is better.
Sam has been keeping a secret from Dean. For a while now - it’s killing him but he doesn’t know how to explain it to his older brother. How do you tell someone you’ve looked up to your whole life that you’ve finally found someone who gets you; who has the same sexual energy, desires and fetishes? And that she’s older.
Dean would probably not bat an eye, even be proud of his little brother for a moment. Until he found out who Sam has been sneaking around with. And it all started with one little phrase during a case.
2012
“Do I have to use my ‘mom voice’?”
Jody Mills was not someone Sam ever thought of in a sexual way. She was a friend, a fellow hunter but when he returned to the first floor after finding Dean’s note and the sheriff actually used her ‘mom voice’ on him, it did something to him.
Sam wasn’t going to pursue it. He thought she was just being a caretaker, looking out for him because she saw how exhausted he was……and maybe she was but even after they retrieved Dean and went their separate ways, Sam couldn’t get the image of Jody being Mommy for him.
When Crowley almost took Jody’s life in a bid to get the Winchesters to stop trying to close the gates of Hell, Sam decided it was now or never. He was going to make a move, but before that could happen, the trials almost claimed his life.
The next time they met up for a case, Sam could barely look at Jody. The dreams that his imagination had conjured up left him wound up about the woman who’d lost almost everything. And when Sam and Dean signed the chastity vow, he figured he probably needed to just forget everything.
Until Jody said something when they figured out Dean was boning the chastity group’s counselor, Suzy, a reformed porn star.
“I’d like to whip his tail for thinking with his dick instead of his brain during a case!”
Sam couldn’t stand it anymore. So as they stood in the remnants of Dean and Suzy’s abduction, Sam pulled Jody to him and kissed her soundly before uttering, “You can spank me anytime, Mommy.”
"Sam?" Jody says incredulously, making Sam want to shrink into oblivion. Had he read the situation all wrong? Was the vibe she was emitting completely innocent and he just made a giant mistake?
"Oh god Jody," he begins pulling away. "I'm so sorry!"
"Sam Winchester!" Jody scolds, shutting the tall hunter up. She wraps her arms around his waist and places her hands on his ass. "I would love to use my crop on this ass," she tells him with a quick squeeze. "Fuck, I bet you could bounce a nickel off that."
Sam feels himself blush at her observation. But he mentally pats himself on the back because he had been correct, she was into the whole Mommy kink - or at least ready to give it a go. He smiles as he plants his hands on her cheeks and leans down and captures her lips again.
Jody wastes no time allowing him entrance between her lips. She had been attracted to Sam for years. He just exuded confidence and security and she had thought she sensed a bit of a kinky side to him once or twice.
Now she knew what he was into, she had no problems being that for him. She couldn't wait to see the big, strong, brave hunter become submissive and complacent in her bed.
The kiss seemed to become a battle for dominance but Jody knew just what to do to gain the upper hand. She slid her hands down Sam's back and once again cupped his buttocks before lifting her right hand and landing a solid smack on his left cheek.
Sam moaned into her mouth, giving her the advantage to take control. Once air became a necessity, the two pulled apart and Jody looked up at him through her lashes. "There's more where that came from," she teased.
Sam opened his mouth to respond but with an inhale, he got a slight whiff of Dean's cologne and remembered the case.
"As much as I want to continue this," he said remorsefully. "We need to find my brother."
Jody nods and steps out of the embrace, but not before locking Sam in a commanding look "Once we find Dean, you come to my room and get your comeuppance. You understand Mister?"
Sam's dick twitched in his jeans at the assertiveness. The authority in her voice made him want to obey, like a good little boy.
"Yes ma'am."
Once they discovered the monster, a Roman goddess named Vesta that was kidnapping and killing virgins, the hunter and the sheriff learned that the only way to kill it was oak stained in virgin blood. They also learned from a staticky and short phone call from Dean that he and the others were being held at an old farm near train tracks.
With an oak stake dipped in the blood of one of the chastity group members, they arrive at the farm and hunt for the goddess and her victims.
In a bid to save Dean and the others, along with Sam who was knocked unconscious, Jody goes up against the monster - getting stabbed herself.
Still, she used what strength she had left to kill Vesta and save them all. Jody Mills wasn't going to have more deaths on her conscience, especially that of her friends and possible future lover.
Only that would have to hold off, as she herself was too injured to participate in those types of events.
While Dean was off checking on Suzy and the others, Jody and Sam concluded that as soon as she healed, she would call him.
"I'd tell you boys to stay out of trouble," Jody says later in the Winchester's motel room, looking from one to the other. "But what's the point?"
Dean hugs her and thanks her for bailing him out. She hugs Sam and then takes the bag he hands her. She glances at Dean to see he has turned his back on them so she whispers, "I'll call you. Be a good boy."
Sam subtly nods and is rewarded with a wink and an air kiss. He watches as Jody walks out the door.

state of the charlie 2024
hello babes I know I've been quiet on here for a while, so I figured I would update y'all on some things I'm doing soon because while normally it would be bad if I were quiet, it's actually quite good! I've been having like, a weirdly great start to my year, and while I have been hibernating for the past two months I am gearing up to overextend myself soon getting back to work and I am gonna do the excruciating thing and tell you what I'm doing in the hope that you might support me (this is just the update. the begging will come later.) so, what am I doing?
first, I am going to be posting my book, wilderblood, here on tumblr! I realize that's kind of weird and silly but I feel very connected to tumblr and I am scared of trying to self-publish it right away. I also don't have the money to commission a good cover (that's part of the later begging) and I refuse to put a naked man and a moon on a generic night sky background on my cover. no shade to the people making bank with those covers but I just can't.
I will be posting it on a separate blog dedicated to the book (reblogging here, of course), so if you're interested in keeping up to date with it, you can follow me over there at wilderwolves. obviously there's nothing on there yet, but I'm going to be posting the first chapter in the next few days. I will also be restarting my patreon to hopefully make some money which would allow me to commission a gorgeous cover. also, for like. money in general. because capitalism has forced me to monetize my hobbies. patreon will get early access and bonus stuff, but the book will be free to read.
speaking of, I am also going to start making candles! super random, I know, but it's something I've always wanted to do and writing this book made me want to find something else that isn't writing that could allow me to do something fun with my hands that isn't playing final fantasy fourteen. it's called Wilder Candle and I'm gonna be putting it up on etsy so if anyone wants some candles for sad girls (gender neutral) that are darker and less cheerful than other candles, that's something I am also doing. yes the candle company has the same name as the book series. yes I will eventually be making self-indulgent candles of the characters of my book. no I will not be taking any criticisms at this time.
in other, non-money things, I have recently gotten back into dming and am currently running an End of Camelot king arthur campaign that has so far been WILD and everything I could have hoped for. my players are level 20+ and the game is broken and it's great. my friends are such freaks, I love them. I am also currently ill with what is probably the flu (but not covid, thank christ) and feel like my head is going to explode, but I managed to get out of my bed today so everything's coming up charlie over here. my cats are flourishing and they're beginning to tolerate me trying to pick them up, so really 2024 is starting pretty swell.
I hope your new years are not too stressful, and I'm really excited to show you what I've been working on. <3

hi eury!! i was wondering if i could perhaps entice you to please write some iwasuga? o: maybe with number 22 from that touching prompts list you reblogged earlier? if not, bokuaka would be fantastic too tbh. your bokuaka is always really good 🫶
i hope you're having a good day!! and thank you in advance if you do take this request!!
kennedy it would be my HONOR to take this request from you!! have some iwasuga for the heart. also there's a lot of oikawa thrown in because i'm incapable of resisting. sorry about that part.
in the hallway, after the game
summary: there, in the hallway, standing around the corner, oikawa sees the two of them as they are when they're alone. (or, iwaizumi and suga, after the game.) prompt: #22: falling asleep on the other’s shoulder pairings: hajime iwaizumi/koushi sugawara words: 1611 warnings: none
After the Shiratorizawa versus Karasuno game ends, Oikawa loses Iwaizumi in the crowd. They get separated only a few moments after exiting the gymnasium: one second Oikawa is tugging on Iwaizumi’s sleeve to pull him towards the exit and the next second, Iwaizumi is slipping out of his grasp. He gets swallowed up by the crowd, and Oikawa doesn’t notice until he’s far too gone.
He decides to wait by the door, thinking that, if he stays in one place, Iwaizumi will be more likely to be able to find him again. Besides, Iwaizumi has to leave the building eventually, and the easiest path to the train station is through this exit. So he leans up against the wall and takes out his phone, sending him a text letting him know where he is, and then pulls up the most recent gacha game he’s become obsessed with.
But the longer that he waits—the more impatient he gets; the more levels he fails—for Iwaizumi to either text him back or to show up in front of him, the more suspicious Oikawa gets. It’s been too long for him to have simply gotten lost in a building they’ve been in dozens of times before and too long for him to have simply gotten swept up in the crowd. He must have gone somewhere. Somewhere without telling Oikawa.
Oikawa is well aware that Iwaizumi doesn’t actually need to tell him where he went—it’s not like they came together to this game; they can leave at different times if Iwaizumi so chooses—but he’s still slightly annoyed by his disappearance. He could have at the very least said goodbye. They have limited time left together in high school—and in the same country, at that—and Oikawa figures he at least deserves to know if Iwaizumi is telling him to go home alone.
So he decides to go looking for him, because the crowd has thinned out now that the award ceremony is probably over and because he has always been too curious for his own good. He wanders around the building for a little while, just going through the hallways that he knows have benches to sit on.
It’s the last place he thinks to check, but, really, it’s the first one he should have looked in. It’s out of the way, nearby where the actual courts are but out of the way enough that no one really ever thinks to stop by there. If you’re trying to disappear, this is a good place to go. Oikawa would know. He’s sat here with Iwaizumi plenty of times before, head in hands, sweat dripping from his hairline, tears stinging at his eyes, after another defeat by Shiratorizawa. He turns the corner and can almost feel the weight of Iwaizumi’s hand heavy and comforting on his shoulder.
He spots Iwaizumi immediately; everything about the outline of him is familiar, everything about the shadow of him is recognizable without effort. He’s about to call out to him, ask why he disappeared, when he sees the other figure sitting next to Iwaizumi.
It takes a second longer to place the other figure, but then he’s unmistakable: the silver hair, the way he’s holding his body tight against Iwaizumi’s side but without compromising his posture, the blue and orange jersey he wears; and then Oikawa hears him laugh and the name comes to mind unbidden. It leaves a strange taste on his tongue. Sugawara. From Karasuno.
The first thing he feels is betrayal. How could Iwaizumi—how—when—
Then Iwaizumi laughs, too, and that sound is as sacred as anything, something that he gifts only to so many people, something private, something secret. Something Oikawa and the rest of Seijoh hold tight to their chests.
Oikawa sees it now: Iwaizumi has his hand around his shoulders, but it’s not as if in comfort so much as just in familiarity, as an affectionate gesture, something simple in its warmth. Anyone else might not think much of it, but Oikawa knows Iwaizumi, knows that he dislikes physical touch with most people, knows that he isn’t familiar like this with very many people, knows that his arm around another person’s shoulders is a brave, bold, intimate statement.
The feeling of invasion is beginning to roll over his shoulders. This is not something he was meant to see. This is something private, something for just Iwaizumi and Sugawara.
But curiosity wins over every instinct telling him to leave, and he leans against the wall, head craned around the corner to watch them.
“You played really well,” Iwaizumi is saying, with that gruff gentleness that he gets when being honest, being soft. There’s a note of embarrassment when he speaks, like he’s flustered just by being so close.
Sugawara hums, resting his head on Iwaizumi’s shoulder. Iwaizumi’s hand on his shoulder shifts slightly to pull him closer. “Thanks. I’m fucking exhausted now, and I didn’t even play the whole game.”
“You can rest now,” Iwaizumi tells him, and Oikawa can hear the softness of his Sugarawa’s sigh even from where he stands around the corner. “You’re going to Nationals though. Can’t rest long.”
“True.” Sugawara yawns loudly. “I’m just gonna sleep until Nationals, I think. Right here.”
“On me?” Iwaizumi teases.
Sugawara laughs quietly, and Oikawa doesn’t know him well but even he can hear the tenderness in it. Even he can tell how hallowed this moment is. Oikawa shifts uncomfortably, itching in his skin, knowing he’s watching something he shouldn’t be, when Sugawara speaks again. “I’m glad you came to watch.”
“Me too.” Iwaizumi kisses the top of his head and Oikawa flinches back behind the corner, pressing his head tight against the wall and staring out into the space in front of him.
Iwaizumi just kissed the setter from Karasuno. Kissed him. Gently. Softly. Delicately. None of those are words he has ever before used to describe Iwaizumi, but then again, he has never known him in the way that Sugawara clearly knows him. He’s never wanted to, not really, and seeing him like this feels wrong. Oikawa is out of place here, past his depth, beyond the boundaries he’s set with his best friend.
“You should probably get back to your team now, though,” Iwaizumi is saying, “and I should probably track down Oikawa before he starts leading a manhunt.”
“I know,” Sugawara says. Oikawa looks around the corner again to see as he presses his forehead against Iwaizumi’s shoulder, then leans up to kiss the side of his neck. “Just five more minutes.”
Iwaizumi hums, pretending to debate it. His hand moves to Sugawara’s hair, moving through it slowly. “You can have three.”
“Deal.”
Oikawa swallows, then turns around the corner. He should give them their privacy, probably. He starts walking away, trying to keep his footsteps quiet on the tiled floor. If Iwaizumi didn’t want him to know about his relationship with Sugawara—which, Oikawa can admit, was maybe fair of him; if he had found out any other way, he probably wouldn’t have reacted very well to the news, especially in light of their recent loss to Karasuno—then Oikawa will just pretend that he doesn’t know. He’s sure Iwaizumi has his reasons for not saying anything, and Oikawa respects him enough to not bring it up.
Iwaizumi, after all, has always been a deeply private person. He doesn’t like talking about his feelings if he doesn’t have to, and even with Oikawa, who considers himself his best friend, it can sometimes be like pulling teeth to get anything out of him. Other times, when they’re alone and he gets talking, Oikawa can’t get him to shut up.
But with this, with whatever he feels towards Sugawara, Oikawa gets the sense that Iwaizumi doesn’t want to share it just yet. He will eventually, because the two of them don’t keep secrets between each other and this is a pretty big one, but for now, it seems like something he wants to keep private, between just him and Sugawara.
Oikawa makes it back to the front exit before texting Iwaizumi again: Still waitingggggggggggggggg…
This time, the response comes only a minute later, with Iwaizumi telling him that he’s on his way and just had to go do something really quickly. Oikawa almost says that it’s been almost half an hour and that he’s well aware that Iwaizumi is off cuddling with the enemy—
Then he deletes the entire message and pockets his phone. This is why Iwaizumi didn’t tell him about his relationship—if that’s what this is—with Sugawara. He takes a deep breath. He needs to be more supportive than this.
There had been something sweet about it anyways, about Karasuno’s setter falling asleep on Iwaizumi. There was something soft in every motion and in every word; soft in a way that Iwaizumi usually refuses to be with anyone. There was an intimacy in it that Oikawa is almost jealous of. The way Iwaizumi’s hand had threaded through Sugawara’s hair in the final moments as Sugawara was probably closing his eyes. The way Sugawara had sighed into his touch. The way Iwaizumi had laughed, the way Sugawara had made him laugh.
Oikawa leans against the wall, putting his hands in his pockets and staring down at his feet. He’s happy for Iwaizumi, he thinks. Sugawara seems to make him happy, seems to make him comfortable, makes him feel at peace. That much is going to be enough for Oikawa.
He’s still going to crush anyone from Karasuno if they ever meet again in a volleyball match, though. Loving Iwaizumi—which is as easy as breathing—is not enough to keep Oikawa from wanting to beat all of them.

Gauging interest for something...
Hey everyone, I thought I'd put up something of a poll that might bring something of a change for both I Dream of Twilight Sparkle and Geniequestria.
Asks and/or Submissions have become so rare at least from my side of Tumblr. And I miss having some sort of community input. Right now both IDOTS and Geniequestria seem to be just on my part... putting up the next story... but I don't want the more small-talk and/or interaction to just disappear. As such...
What I'm considering, is opening sideblogs each for both IDOTS and Geniequestria. Where they are purely roleplay blogs with text only replies to questions and/or interactions. I know it may be odd to just now have a more public roleplay come into play for IDOTS when the blog is more than a decade old. But it also provides some opportunity to sort of flesh out further and/or put up some more awareness of the AUs that take up both I Dream of Twilight Sparkle and Geniequestria each.
Though one more thing I want to note before getting to the details. I am a bit... nervous about opening up roleplay to both so publicly. As I know some roleplays can end up with nasty behavior. If I feel like someone is starting to be too mean or too attempting to be controlling of where a story is going. I withhold a right to end an interaction at any moment. Please be kind and considerate as possible. If this turns out to be more trouble than it's worth, I also withhold the right to just deactivate the roleplay side blogs. But I certainly hope it never has to come to that.
If you're interested enough, I want to make them separate blogs so they don't clutter the main pages since I know some roleplays can come across many, many, many reblogs. Wouldn't want those who just want to see the stories and/or asks I've done for both, and have to climb through pages of roleplay. And as for how each would work...
If I Dream of Twilight Sparkle gets a roleplay spin-off blog...
It'd open up for many of the characters in the IDOTS/Ask Genie Twilight universe. It wouldn't just be with Genie Twilight, Spike, and/or Starlight. Recent stories has made it so a much larger cast is capable of being interacted with. Just name a character (Though preferably a recurring canon character, one of the few OC's that are involved in IDOTS, or significant one-shot characters that I've featured in recent stories) and I can see what I can do
Maybe even some room to expand towards the Genie Pinkie, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Sci-Twi from Ain't Never Had Friends Like Us as well if it's requested.
These would be mostly wholesome interactions. Many of which that would fit in line with the show. Although certainly some subjects could go dark (Ex: Talking to any of the spirits of the deceased like Applejack's parents about death for example) in tone.
Also, if you've been paying attention to the recent Earnest Empathetic Change story. You'd see that there's a timeskip by about 10 years. You won't be restricted to these future versions of the characters however. If you want to specifically talk to a more... present day version of the character (As in Post-S9 and probably shortly after Secrets of the Dragon's Tear) you'd fully have that option.
Just pick a character you'd like to interact with from the IDOTS AU, decide whether you want the Post-Ending of the End/SOTDT version or the 10 year timeskip version of the characters depicted in Earnest Empathetic Change. And we can arrange something.
If Geniequestria gets a roleplay spin-off blog...
It'd fall under many of the same rules that are in the pinned post over on Geniequestria. Although one big difference is, there's no promises that the interactions are canon to the story if you're portraying a character that hasn't had a story yet on Geniequestria. They may at least influence something whenever a certain character is brought up. But otherwise many canon character interactions with a Geniequestria genie would be more like a what if scenario that may or may not come to play later. (For any G5 fans who are roleplayers, yes this opens up the what if scenario depicted in the story from last September when the Mane 5 were genified as a possible scenario)
And if an OC is interacting with a Geniequestria character. Especially if it's with one of the genies. The interaction is mainly going to be about getting them to genify your OC. Potentially, this could result in eventually a visualization of your OC as a genie made by myself. But I can't promise that'd come too quickly after we've interacted. And just like how I mentioned in the pinned post, if I end up visualizing your OC as a genie. I will do only one of them. Do not roleplay with me purely to get all your OCs genified with sprite art.
As for what characters would be opened up. Basically anyone who's currently a genie (Which you can check over here to see who is, though it's everyone but Nova and Ember currently. As those are friends of mine's OCs). You do have the option of interacting with some of the non-genies. But I'm unsure if anyone would be going to interact with an AU called Geniequestria if they weren't here to speak to the genies. I figure that's kind of the main draw for interactions, especially as more and more characters are genified.
Many of the same do's or do not's are in play as in the pinned post. No god-modding your OC out of genification, or no helping the remaining non-genie members of the Mane 6 after genification. OCs are still not allowed to impact the main story too much. Even if it's in-character for your OC to disagree with Starlight's methods per se. It's not up to them to get her to change. And fighting her post-genification would only lead to a stalemate. (And in most cases, your OC should feel too good to outright deny everything Starlight says. That's kind of the nature of genifications in Geniequestria. Even the most reluctant change their tune once they've felt the transformation)
The tone of Geniequestria to far more mature subjects that are normally too much for IDOTS. But I also must warn that I don't want to go too far off the handle. Even as it seems Tumblr has sort of let-up in some regards to mature content. What with the whole "Are you sure?" screens. I don't want to get involved with roleplays involving explicit descriptions of sex, nor any mention of genitals or er... certain bodily fluids. Try to keep it in tone with Geniequestria stories where yes, naughtiness gets very much implied... but never too explicitly described and/or happening offscreen.
Also, reminder that any filly and colt-aged character was aged up by a wish in an earlier part of the story. And all male characters are Rule 63'd/become mares before or at the same time that they're transformed into genies. Any and all characters involved in the genification part of Geniequestria will become adult mares as Genies. That's a strict rule that I hope can be abided. In short... No filly-aged genies, and no male genies once transformed.

Anyhow, I can now show the poll. I'd like your feedback if any of you would be interested in either of these.
