Tests Found- C.S
summary: Nick and Matt find out Y/n and Chris are having a baby, but not the way Y/n and Chris intended to.
cw: none? just cursing
masterlist | positive masterlist
-----------------------------------------------
five weeks pregnant
It had been about two weeks since Y/n and Chris found out they were expecting a baby. Ever since that day Chris stayed over at Y/n's apartment every other day. Nick and Matt haven't been suspicious at all. Y/n and Chris wanted to keep it private just until Y/n had reached her second trimester to make sure everything was fine with their baby. However, it didn't go as planned.
"Hi, babe. We're here." Chris speaks into the phone as he calls Y/n. He doesn't ring her buzzer anymore because it now annoys her. "Ok, I'll buzz you in." She softly speaks. She gets up off the couch and goes towards the door to buzz the boys in. After a couple of seconds, she lets it go. She unlocks the door, and heads back to her spot on the couch.
Chris, Matt and Nick, all head up to the fifth floor where her apartment is. Matt thought of the idea for all four of them to hangout since Matt and Nick haven't seen Y/n ever since she picked them up from the airport. Which was a little over three weeks ago. Both Nick and Matt became really close to Y/n after her and Chris had been dating for two months. They both thought of her as a sister as soon as Chris told them she was the one seven months into their relationship.
"Hellooo!" Chris says as soon as he opens her front door. "I'm in the living room." He hears her say. He quickly takes his shoes off and speeds off to her before his brothers get to her. "Hi, baby." He leans down and gives her a kiss on the lips. He looks then left to see that his brothers are struggling to take their shoes off. "Hi, babe." She says with a smile. "How our little apple seed, hm?" Ever since last week, Chris has been looking up how big their baby is and what it's compared to. "They're fine, made me throw up my toast with butter, but I feel fine now." He frowns, and sits next to her. "Hopefully your morning sickness goes down-" He gets cut off by Nicks loud voice.
"Y/n! Im here too." Nick sounds offended as she only pays attention to Chris. "Hi, Nick. I was waiting for you, did it really take you two that long to get your shoes off?" Y/n gets up and hugs Nick, then Matt. "I tied them to tight."
"How have you been?" Matt sits down on the smaller couch. "Good, I've just been staying home really. You?" Y/n places her head on Chris' shoulder. "Same, just stayin' home." He says. "So, what are our plans?" Nick asks. "Lunch, shopping, dinner, come back here and watch some movies?" Matt replies looks at the three of them. "Sounds good."
The four of them stay in the living room for half an hour until they're ready to go. "Y/n do you have one of those tooth flossers?" Nick asks, picking at his teeth from the popcorn he had found in her pantry. "Yeah, they're in my bathroom under my sink somewhere." Nick gets up and heads to her room. "Wait for me, I need one too." Matt gets up and follows Nick.
"Have you made an appointment?" Chris asks Y/n once Matt and Nick are out of earshot. "Yeah! We have it a week from now." She says excitedly. "Okay, what time so I can clear my schedule." Y/n pulls her phone out to check her email for all of the details.
In Y/n's bathroom, Nick is searching all over her bathroom cabinets. "How does she have so many cabinets in here?" He closes one door just to open another one. "Umm, Matt? Can you help?" He sees Matt fixing his hair in the mirror. "She clearly said the one under the sink." Matt crouches down and open the one under the sink. While Nick searches the other ones. Matt digs around in the cabinet and comes across what they were looking for. "Found them." He gets up and dangles the bag in front of Nicks face.
"Well, open it up!" Nick yells motioning to the bag. "Here." Matt hands Nick one and grabs one for himself before putting it back. As he puts them back where they were, some stuff falls out of the cabinet on to the floor. "Fuck." He says. As he looks to see what fell Nick gasps when he sees what it is. "Oh my god!" He whisper yells and closes the bathroom door fast. "What?" He looks at Nick and back to what fell on the floor. "Oh my god!" He says. Matt picks them up and places all four onto the counter. "Are they positive?" Nick says with his hand placed over his mouth, the flosser long forgotten.
"I'm not sure, kinda scared to check." Matt says, tossing his flosser in the trash. "I'll check." Nick leans over them and examines them. "Holy shit." He turns to Matt. "Are they?" Nick nods. "Oh my god." Matt whispers. "Do you think they're her tests?" Nick asks. "No duh. They're in her bathroom."
"Should we call her in?" Matt nods. In the living room, Y/n sends Chris all the details about their upcoming appointment until she hears Nicks voice. "I'll be back. I don't think they found them." She walks towards the bathroom and sees the two of them standing in front of the sink. "Did you guys find them?" She asks. "Yes but," Nick closes the door behind her before he finishes talking. "We found something else." Matt grabs the tests by the white part and shoes Y/n as if she's never seen them before. "Oh," Her heart drops. "Are you pregnant?" Nick whispers.
Y/n nods. "Does Chris know?" Matt asks curiously. "Yeah." She looks between them two nervous about their reactions. Matt places the tests carefully on the counter and goes to Y/n to hug her. "Congrats, Kid."
"Make some room for me!" Nick smiles and joins in on their hug. "Now I kinda feel bad." Y/n pulls away a couple of seconds later. "What? Why?" Nick says. "Chris was excited to tell you guys in a fun way." Matt frowns.
The door opens and Chris comes in. "What's going on?" He says. "They found the tests." Y/n says and his mouth turns into an 'O'. "Surprise?" He says. "Chris you're going to be a DAD!" Matt says and goes to hug him and Nick follows behind. "How'd you guys find out?" Matt asks. Looking at the couple with a smile on his face. "I was sick for like weeks, still am though. But, Chris noticed I was late for my period and he went and bought the tests and I took them, and obviously they were positive."
"When did this happen?" Nick adds on. "Right before we left for Boston, the night before act-" Nick gasps. "Not when the baby was conceived you sicko! I mean when did you guys find out?" He swats Chris' arm. "we found out two weeks after you guys had came back. So I'm five weeks right now."
"We were going to tell you guys after the first trimester. But, you guys just had to ask for a damn flosser." Chris was pretty bummed, he wanted to tell them in a special way, and he wanted it captured on video. He had wanted to tell them with a blindfold challenge and him and Y/n would give them baby stuff to try and guess until he would hand them the pregnancy test. "I had popcorn in my teeth! Still do!" Nick yells.
Forty minutes later, they're now at lunch. "I still can't believe Y/n is pregnant." Nick picks at his food. "Me either!" Y/n sips her water. "How big is the baby? Do you know?" Matt says, across from Chris. "The size of a fucking apple seed! That's crazy like, an apple seed is tiny." Chris brings his thumb and pointer finger together to match the size of an apple seed. "That's crazy." Matt and Nick both say, Y/n laughs.
"Have you guys told anyone else?" Nick suddenly asks. Y/n shakes her head and Chris responds. "No, you guys are the first to know. Like we said, we were waiting for the first trimester to end to make sure everything was right with the baby."
"Can we go baby shopping?" Nick says.

Love at First Sight
A drabble from A Deeper Purpose/A Deeper Meaning universe, takes place between the two.
A/N: Dedicated to @brigcally - wishing you a flawless delivery ❤️
Pairing: Joel Miller x f!reader
Summary: Joel helps you through your delivery.
Warnings: child birth, descriptions of pain/fear, anxiety, blood (only a little), language, fluff, allusion to prior smut but nothing explicit, breastfeeding
WC: 2.6K
It was a beautiful day.
The morning was crisp, the afternoon warm, but not stifling. For once, Joel didn't finish his patrol shift feeling like he had to bathe for an hour after to scrub off the layers of sweat and grime.
He was feeling good. His back didn't hurt so much that day and he was in a remarkable mood. It probably had something to do with the night before. The last trimester of your pregnancy had made you absolutely insatiable for him and he was more than happy to oblige. That even included nights like the previous night when you woke him up with your hand already snaked down his pants and your lips leaving feverish kisses all over his bare chest.
It was a shock he wasn't more tired.
But it turned out that was a bigger blessing than he originally thought because he was about to have one of the longest days of his life.
The moment he entered the gates and slid down from his horse, reins in hand as he began to lead his mare into the stable, Tommy came racing up to him from down the street with a frantic look in his eye.
Joel's heart plummeted and he dropped the reins, horse long forgotten.
"Is she okay?" he asked, pulling his gloves off and tossing them on the ground before breaking out into a sprint towards his house.
Tommy skid to a stop so he could change directions, jogging after him.
"Yeah, she's fine," Tommy called, causing Joel to slow down, but only just a little. "She's at the clinic, doc says she's in labor-"
"Tommy, what the fuck?" Joel yelled as he resumed his running.
"She's fine!" Tommy yelled after him with a dry laugh. "She's hours away from anythin', only a little dilated, slow the hell down!"
But of course, he didn't. You needed him.
He ran the entire way to the clinic, bursting through the door, gasping for air with his head swiveling this way and that, looking for any sign of you. One of the nurses looked up from her desk and stood.
"Joel, she's fine," she began to say calmly, but Joel just shook his head, chest heaving and shaky finger pointing to the back room.
"Where?"
The nurse led him to the room where you were laying in bed with a book, as if nothing were happening whatsoever.
"W-what's goin' on?" Joel stammered, looking around the room as if he were missing something. You looked up from your book and smiled.
"You're back early."
Joel huffed and shrugged his coat off. "Tommy said you're in labor. The hell's goin' on? Where's the doc?"
"I'm only three centimeters," you said, picking your book back up and flipping the page. "It's gonna be a while."
Joel just stood there, heart still thundering in his chest as he struggled to shift out of panic mode. He had expected to come into the room where you were screaming and crying in pain, scared and wondering where he was, but everything seemed perfectly... normal.
Slowly, he sunk down into the chair next to your bed and raked his fingers through his hair.
"Scared the shit outta me," he muttered. "Do you need anythin'?"
You shook your head, still focused on your book. "Nope. I'm all good."
He sat there, completely bewildered and desperate for something to do to help.
"Water?"
You held up the bottle you had tucked at your side and shook your head.
"Pillows?"
You grinned. "Three's plenty."
He couldn't just sit there. He had to make himself useful and burn off some of that nervous energy. So he began to pace around the room, squinting at the tiny printer next to your bed that tracked the baby's heart rate and your contractions, as if he understood what he was reading. Then he peered out into the hallway, looking for any sign from the medical staff.
"Where's the doc?" he asked again after about twenty fitful minutes. "Shouldn't he be checkin' on you? I'll go find him."
"Joel!" you exclaimed with a laugh. He turned around, expression so worried that it melted your heart on the spot. "Joel, come sit down. I don't need the doctor right now."
His fingers fidgeted at his side when he glanced between you and the open door as if he were deciding which way to go, then eventually caved and went back to your side.
"I gotta do somethin'," he explained, sitting back down and taking your outstretched hand.
"I think you did enough," you joked, pointing at your rounded belly. He gave you an obligatory laugh but his nerves wouldn't settle for the life of him. "We're going to be here for a long time. There's no use getting worked up about it, okay?" you said softly, thumb stroking his rough knuckles.
He glanced down at the floor for a moment, then took a deep breath before replying. "With Sarah, it happened so fast," he told you. You remained perfectly quiet while he spoke. He didn't like to talk about Sarah much and you never pressured him, but whenever he brought her up, you always hung on his every word. "Her mom - her water broke in the middle of the night and by mornin', I was holdin' Sarah in my arms. I guess I just thought..." he trailed off and sniffed a bit, gaze still pinned to the floor.
"Everyone's experience is different," you told him gently when it became apparent he was done talking. "Sometimes it happens fast, sometimes it takes days."
"Days?" he repeated, looking up at you with surprise.
"Yeah, let's hope that's not going to happen to me because you'll really have your work cut out for you, Miller."
He laughed, and that time you could tell it was his real laugh. He was finally beginning to relax.
"How are you so calm 'bout this, darlin'?" he asked, sitting back in his chair to look at you with admiration in his eyes.
"Because I'm so happy, Joel," you told him simply with a little shrug. "And I know no matter what, as long as I have you and our baby, it'll all work out."
His eyes grew misty and he quickly slid his gaze elsewhere, but you caught it and smiled.
"Well," he finally said, clearing his throat. "You need anythin' at all, you just gotta ask, alright?"
You nodded, pleased that he was finally settling down, then went to pick up your book. When you reached forward, you hissed and grabbed your stomach, a sudden searing pain ripping across your lower belly and spreading down your spine.
"Fuck!" you seethed. Joel was on his feet in an instant.
"What is it?"
"Contraction," you gritted out, grabbing onto his hand to hold on to something while you rode out the pain. Joel's face instantly filled with worry again.
"Lemme get the doc, maybe he can give you somethin'."
"No!" you shouted, then took a deep, shuddering breath before relaxing back into your pillows. "No," you whispered as your grip on his hand loosened. "Oh, wow," you breathed, exhaling slowly as the pain faded away. "That was a lot more intense than the other ones."
"Alright, there's stuff the doc can give you -"
"What do you think he's got, Joel?" you asked him. "It's the end of the damn world, there's no pain management he can give me that won't hurt the baby."
Joel propped his hands on his hips and shifted his weight anxiously as he tried to think of a solution.
"What 'bout a hot water bottle?"
You considered it for a moment before nodding.
"I'll ask the doctor if I can use it on my stomach but at the very least it'll help my goddamn tailbone."
Joel clapped his hands together once and quickly ran out of the room, thrilled to finally have something he could do to help. He was gone fifteen, maybe twenty minutes. When he stepped back into your room, rubber water bottle sloshing under his arm, you were in the midst of another contraction, and this time the doctor was at your side studying the monitor next to your bed while you cried and writhed around in pain.
"Shit! Baby, I'm sorry," Joel said, rushing to your side to grab your hand. You held onto him like a lifeline, forehead and neck slick with sweat and cheeks stained with tears as you tried to fight through the worst part of the contraction.
Joel had had enough of seeing you in pain.
"Can't you do somethin'?" he barked at the doctor, an elderly man who, to his credit, was rather unshakable. He just sighed and peered at Joel over his glasses.
"Only thing that'll help is gettin' that baby out," he said gruffly. When your contraction finally subsided and your muscles relaxed into the mattress, your sheets already looking soaked with sweat, the doctor tapped your knees and kneeled at the foot of the bed. Joel watched, slightly horrified, as the man shoved two gloved fingers inside you. Your jaw clenched and your eyes squeezed shut as you tried to breathe through it, but Joel could tell you were in more pain than you were letting on.
"Comin' along nicely," he remarked when he finally removed his fingers. He snapped the gloves off and tossed them into the ever growing pile of garbage in the basket next to the door. "You might just have a baby before end of the day. You're at six centimeters."
"Six!?" Joel exclaimed. "An hour ago you were three!"
"And she might stay at six for hours til there's any more movement," the doctor said. When he saw the look on your face at the thought of being in that much pain for that long, he quickly followed up with, "Or you'll continue to dilate quickly and in a few hours you'll have a beautiful baby."
Tears filled your eyes once the doctor left and you buried your face in your hands.
"C'mon, baby, don't cry, it's alright," Joel soothed. Then he remembered the water bottle, so he slipped a pillow case around it and pressed it up against your back.
"Oh," you breathed, head lifting up and eyes fluttering open. "Oh, that feels good."
"Yeah?" Joel asked, mindlessly rubbing your upper back. He watched you take a few deep breaths, then your tears slowed and you leaned back with a deep sigh.
"Thank you," you whispered, "this feels so much better."
"You're welcome," he replied just as softly. "I won't leave your side again."
The remainder of the afternoon was more of the same. Contractions came quicker and grew more intense with each hour, but thankfully every time the doctor checked, you were steadily progressing. Joel kept your water bottle warm and would massage your back and shoulders whenever you grew too tense. And even though the pain was getting worse, you were doing just fine because you knew each jolt of pain was bringing you closer and closer to meeting your baby.
It was around nine in the evening when the doctor announced you were ten centimeters.
"You ready to push?" he asked, giving you a comforting wink. You nodded and looked up at Joel, your fingers laced together anxiously. His expression was a mix of fear and excitement while he murmured praise and comfort in your ear. One of the nurses elevated your bed and padded the sides and another was laying out all sorts of sterilized instruments on a small table at the foot of the bed. Joel caught you eyeballing at a particularly scary looking scalpel and he leaned down.
"You don't look down there, you look right at me," he told you firmly. You nodded and squeezed his hand before taking a deep breath.
"I can do this."
Joel grinned and gave you a quick kiss.
"Fuck yeah, you can."
And you did. You really fucking did.
It took less than an hour but it felt like a whole lifetime, and just as you promised, you didn't look away from Joel once. With every push, he stared you right in the eye and clutched your hand and told you how strong you were, how he hoped your baby would be just like you and how he couldn't wait to meet them.
And finally, with one last push that took every ounce of energy you had, you felt it: relief. The pressure in your lower stomach was gone, the pain in your back and tailbone disappeared and for one ridiculous moment you thought you had somehow transcended what it was to feel pain until you heard a sharp wail pierce the air.
Tears flooded your eyes and your heart was racing so fast, the monitor next to your bed started beeping angrily. Then the doctor held up your baby from above the drop cloth that separated your lower half and for the first time in your life, you knew what it was to truly love someone. You loved Joel and your friends, but this was entirely different. This was a unique, pure kind of love that existed exclusively between a mother and her child, a kind of love that settled deep in your chest without any convincing at all.
"She's beautiful," you sobbed, reaching out for your baby.
"How'd you -" Joel began, but the doctor ushered him over to cut the umbilical cord so they could clean her up.
"She's right, it's a girl," he told Joel once he sliced the pinkish grey cord. Blood and clear fluid splashed onto the floor and it felt like marking the beginning of something. Somehow with that simple motion, Joel felt that feeling he never thought he would feel again. That unwavering urge to love and protect and provide flared like heat inside of him to the point where he had to hold himself back from letting the nurses whisk his daughter away.
"We did it," you whimpered, collapsing weakly into bed with tears streaming from your eyes while the doctor got to work cleaning and sewing you back up.
"You did it," Joel corrected before pressing a kiss against your forehead, then another to your lips, lingering for just one second longer before pulling back and swiping away tears of his own.
The two of you stayed like that, enjoying your little bubble for five minutes longer, knowing full well when the nurses brought your baby back into the room, it would no longer be just the two of you ever again.
And when they did, oh, when they did bring her back in, all red faced and angry with the world already, you couldn't have been happier. But when she latched onto your breast, even though that first time was clumsy and awkward, she finally quieted down and looked up at you. She had deep brown eyes just like Joel and she gave you a look that said, I know you. You just laughed and carefully stroked her perfect little cheek while Joel leaned over the bed, smile permanently plastered across his face as he watched his girls officially meet for the first time.
"She's so perfect," you whispered, watching as milk trickled from the corner of her mouth.
"You did so good, mama," Joel murmured in your ear before kissing the side of your head. "What should we name her?"
You couldn't look away from her, and she couldn't get enough of the two of you. Her eyes darted back and forth, probably wondering what the hell was going on and why her mom and dad wouldn't stop staring at her. And before you even had a chance to think it over, you answered.
"Emma," you said, grinning when her eyes found yours again. "Her name's Emma."

Oh, baby
Georgia Stanway x reader.
I know nothing about giving birth so bare with me. Also please don't kill me for the plot changes, Hope you like it!
Other players masterlist
──✩₊⁺⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧──
"Fuck!" you said feeling the warm liquid run down your legs. "No, no, no." You were staying over at her parents' house. Tomorrow would be the final match at the 2023 world cup and you would be gathered to watch the game there.
"Jo! We need to go, my water just broke!" you said grabbing her mother's attention. Her dad had gone to Australia to support her, but her mom refused leaving you, pregnant and alone. And you thanked the universe. You were 36 weeks, you were to give birth only next month. You had been feeling small contractions, that were apparently normal in the third trimester.
That was the only reason Georgia agreed to go.
A million thoughts went through your mind. Would the baby be okay? Would they have to do a C-section?
Would your fiancé be okay, knowing she missed the moment se was waiting so excited for? Were you even ready for this?
You started to cry immediately.
"Don't worry love, I'm calling her as soon as you're in the hospital."
"No please! You can't! You know her!" you said followed by a scream when you felt the sharp pain of a contraction hit you. "Please, please wait as much as we can. This is important for her, she needs to be a hundred percent focused."
"But seeing her daughter's birth is too..."
"I know but even if she knows, she'll won't get here in time. Please."
She only nodded agreeing with you. And you asked her to call your parents instead.
──✩₊⁺⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧──
While you walked around the room, preparing yourself for the ride ahead, in attempt to stay sound, you thought about what had led you here.
You and Georgia had been together for almost six years.
You had met at Man City, both came from a small town and were around the same age, sharing the dream to become big players.
You started dating, and your relationship went through a lot.
You endured for years a long distance relationship, when you moved away to play in Spain and she stayed back in Manchester.
A couple of seasons later you transferred to Bayern, where your girlfriend soon followed suit.
And you both finally managed to start your life together.
She didn't want to wait any longer, all that time had been enough.
From living together to her proposing, life felt like pure bliss.
And after the 2022 euro's title, you felt like it was the right time to have a pause on your career.
It wasn't an easy decision, since the World Cup was around the corner.
But differently from your teammates, you now had a bigger dream, Georgia fully supported you, she herself had always wanted to be a mother.
You didn't expect for it to work so soon.
Along with the risks the doctors had told you, it could take more than one try.
Fortunately the whole pregnancy had been very healthy, and nothing gave you any reason to think something like this could happen.
You questioned yourself if you were doing the right thing, by not updating her on the matter.
──✩₊⁺⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧──
Georgia's head was buzzing, Spain was winning by a goal. England had slightly recovered at the end of first half, but it wasn't enough.
She sat on the locker room, trying to cool down, zoning out a bit. All she could think of was winning this, to come home as a champion. For her girls.
She could have never imagined you had been in the hospital for the last couple of hours, let alone giving birth. So she didn't bother to look for her phone.
And before she knew, she was walking back to the field for the second half.
──✩₊⁺⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧──
"Just one more push, yeah?"
And you did as a loud cry filled the room. And they placed her right on your chest.
You felt like you could pass out from how tired you were.
But you couldn't, yet.
"You did great darling." her mom cooed you in between tears.
"Is the game over yet?"
"Yes, they won second place." she handed your phone over.
You cried hard a the sound of that. She had been deprived of being champion and seeing her daughter's first moments in the same day, at the same time. You tried to recompose yourself while you pressed to facetime her.
ongoing call...
"Hey love, what took you so lon-" she managed to get out before shutting up at the realization. A big smile appearing in her tear stained face. "She's beautiful."
before she could say anything else, Lucy, who was prying at the video call, loudly announced to everyone.
"The baby is here!" and you could hear the girls cheering loudly. Running to try and congratulate you.
"You guys are so loud, geez." your soon to be wife said after a few moments, walking to a more private place, so you both could talk.
"I am so sorry." you said eyes filled with tears.
"We couldn't have known." she said giving you a reassuring smile. "I was going to show you this baby here," showing her silver medal at the camera. "But it seems like you're already holding our baby right there."
And for over ten minutes you two sat quietly, just admiring the angel you had brought into the world.
"Is she okay? I mean she clearly looks like it, but since she's early..."
"Better than expected actually. They said she's around 6.30 lbs and over 19 inches. Pretty big for a preterm. They'll run some tests in the morning, just to be sure." you said letting out a yawn.
"You need to get some sleep. And I'm getting on the first plane home."
"I love you, and I'm so proud of you."
"Oh baby, I'm the one who's proud. I love you. Both of you."

mrs. burrow blurb…
825 words for anyone wondering
◎ 。 ゚ ❁ ゚ 。 ◎ * You've been drooling at your phone for hours (10 minutes) just waiting for your stud of a husband to get home from practice.
All your social media has are pictures, videos and gifs of your man just owning his practice look- well his Bengals gear. But no one should look that damn good at work, unless they're getting paid to. And last time you checked he was getting paid to throw a ball and run away.
"Baby!"
You jolt up from the couch to the sound of Joe's voice coming in from the garage.
"Where are you gorgeous?"
"Living room!" You respond with a smile in your voice.
You see him before he sees you, of course considering he's 6 '4 and 220 lbs of fine ass man. He comes in decked out in his "lady killing" gray sweat shorts and a tie dye muscle shirt with his practice bag swung over his tan broad shoulders.
"Well don't you look comfy." He chuckles nodding at your current state of being wrapped in a blanket like a caterpillar in its cocoon.
You smile unwrapping yourself and standing to your much shorter stature, not that it's ever been a problem for him. "You look like you want every woman within 100 miles to start ovulating."
He snorts and rolls his eyes before pulling you into his arms for a strong yet soft, comforting hug.
"I missed you." He mumbles into your 3 day twist out.
"You smell heavenly, oh I missed you too." He pulls back a bit with a blush heating his cheeks.
You chuckle as he composes himself. "I don't know what's going on with you today, but I'm glad you're enjoying yourself."
Then dips his head to press his lips to yours. You hum sweetly into the kiss and rise to your tiptoes to reciprocate the gentle motions.
He pecks your lips once more before pulling back and smiling.
"I baked today." You beam.
His brows quirk up. "Oh yeah?" You nod and lead him to the kitchen. He sits at the counter as you place a cake plate in front of him, then lifts the translucent glass to reveal a sweet lemon Bundt cake.
"Wow."
You bite the bottom of your lip while cutting him a piece then handing it to him along with a fork.
"Thank you mamas." He says then takes a bite out of your homemade creation. You watch intently as he closes his eyes and throws his head back with a moan.
"Do you like it?"
"Oh yeah, fantastic. You did your thing baby." He responds, finishing the rest of his cake.
The joy you feel as the man you love cleans his plate is incomparable. Well you could compare it to the lust you feel when his body engulfs yours in any and every way.
Like when he walked in from an 8 hour practice looking like straight sex on legs. You'd never know how sexy a bleached buzz cut could be until he waltzed in that day.
There's nothing better than a man that just gets better with age.
"Babe?"
You shiver at the tone of his voice as he wakes you from your daydream. You lock eyes and let out a deep breath.
"Fuck, get me pregnant."
He steps down from the stool and smirks. "I think we already have that covered."
Still entranced in his beauty, you pout then feel a warmth around your midsection. You look down to see his hands rubbing on your bump, because you're 7 months pregnant. Which is why he said he was glad you were feeling better, because ever since your 3rd trimester started you've had more downs than anything.
"Babygirl must be having a quiet day if you somehow forgot about her." He jokes. You chuckle and place your hands on top of his.
"I didn't forget, I must've fallen asleep after baking. Then you walked in and I couldn't think of anything else." Then as if she was being summoned, your little girl starts to kick against his hands.
Joe kneels down and kisses your stomach. "I guess she was just trying to give her stunning mama a little break. Ain't that right Deya?"
"Deya?" You tilt your head amusingly.
"I've heard 'who dey' so much today, it's stuck in my head. I just wanted to try it out. What do you think?" He rose to his full height.
"Like Adeya Burrow? It's cute, we can put it on the list."
"Yeah?" He smiles. You nod.
"The list is getting pretty long though, we're gonna have to make a decision soon."
Your husband takes your hands in his and brings them up to kiss them. "We have time, but I think we have our two finalists."
˚ ༘♡ ⋆。˚ ❀
Turns out you didn't have as much time as you thought. At exactly 35 weeks, your twin girls Adeya and Ariel Burrow, were born. A surprise but the most loved and adored surprise they'd ever had.

(Same person who requested the pent up leon & ftm reader with a baby :3)
i NEED more zuko content , uhh so how about zuko and (ftm) male reader have two kids already (twins) and they're really young, even them both already having kids zuko atleast wanted one more, and as soon as the twins started asking for a baby sibling he went wild that night
"You heard them? One more can't hurt, and they'd be so so happy.."
You can choose the kinks ! Have a good day ♡
I'm always happy to provide Zuko content hehe, and breeding is one of my faves AH FUCK i POSTED IT TOO SOON
Zuko loved seeing you with your kids. The two girls that you had given him, cute little identical twins. The cold darkness of the palace, now filled with the cute shrieks and giggles of his daughters. Meetings with his advisors interrupted by the pitter patter of tiny feet coming into the throne room, so he just continues the meeting with both of them snuggled onto his lap. And the way you took care of them, made him fall even more in love with you. The praise and care, the way you carried them on your hips. He was so proud of you, and of his girls. They were both firebenders, not that he cared. He'd love them either way. But tonight, as the four of you lay there, the girls making flower crowns in the meadow outside the capital volcano, the topic of siblings came up. "Papa? Can we have another sibling?" One of your girls, asked, in the her innocent voice. Which caused the other one to chime in. "Yeah! I want a brother too!" Both you and Zuko exchanged a look, your faces clearly flustered. You changed the subject for now, and you after a few hours, you carried them back to the palace, and tucked them into bed. As soon as you left their room, you felt a hand on your hip. Squeezing. Grabbing. And then you were pushed up against a wall, with Zuko's lips pressing hot, open mouthed kisses against the sensitive skin on your neck. "What do you say, my firefly? Shall we give them another sibling?" His voice is deeper, laced with lust. You remember how he got you pregnant the first time, how he went almost feral at the idea of seeing you all swollen with his kid. You're pretty sure that his incessant pounding of your hole, and the amount of cum that he poured into your hole, was the reason why you had twins. And you were probably gonna get the same treatment tonight. He didn't even wait until you got into your shared chambers, he just pushed you against the wall of the hallway. Despite your soft protests that somebody might see you, he pulled your clothes off. "No one's gonna see us, and even if they do, I'm the FireLord. What can they do? I'm the leader, and I need to fuck another heir into my prince consort. You'll let me, won't you, baby boy?" Well you did let him. His cock was in you before long, and you stopped caring about whether or not it felt good. You just moan and whimpered and cried out his name. "Such a tight hot pussy, all for me. Gonna get your pregnant again, my love. Shall we try for triplets this time?" You didn't argue. His cock felt too good, the veiny surface stimulating the sensitive spots inside you. And you squeezed him so good, your pussy needing to be filled with his hot cum, to be pumped full of his heirs again. You cried out his name, needing him to fuck you harder. Which he happily obliged. Slamming into your pussy, the sound of skin slapping echoing in the hallway, as he didn't let up. He was determined to get you pregnant again, to fill your womb up with so much cum that you had no choice but to carry his babies again. He loved your first pregnancy. Watching your belly grow, from the small little bump, barely noticeable. To the swollen belly in the last trimester. He loved it all. And he was desperate to see it again, which was obvious in the thrusts. He was thrusting like a man starved, revelling in the mewls and whimpers leaving your lips. His cum poured into you, spurting seed into your womb. But he wasn't done. Keeping his cock in you, he carried you the rest of the way to your chambers, leaving the small amount of cum that had leaked out of you for the servants to clean up. He lowered you down onto your shared bed, and kissed your neck, rolling his hips inside you again. It's clear you weren't going to leave his arms until you were stuffed with enough cum, that he was satisfied that you were definitely knocked up again.

Aim for the Sky Part 7 | Rooster x Reader
Summary: You felt exhausted and unappealing at the start of your third trimester, but according to your husband, you were still perfect. Just as you solve one problem for your friend, you inadvertently cause another one for yourself.
Warnings: Fluff, smut, Bradley eating pussy, swearing, angst, pregnancy
Length: 5400 words
Pairing: Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw x Female Reader
Aim for the Sky masterlist. This was written to accompany my series Is It Working For You? along with a bunch of my one-shots and other series, but it can be read on its own! Check my masterlist for the reading order.
As nice as your second trimester had been, as soon as it ended, you were exhausted all the time. And you were once again starting to feel nauseous every morning. Maybe your mom was right and you needed to eat more than random foods dipped in hot sauce sporadically all day long. Your belly was also starting to change from a cute bump to a tender, oversized monster. When you mentioned it to Bradley, he scoffed.
"Don't call my Nugget a monster."
"I'm not talking about the baby!" you said as you started to get dressed for work in your maternity tent, gesturing at your body. "But there's a lot going on here."
"Yeah," Bradley grunted as he pulled a clean flight suit from the closet, eyeing you up and down. "There sure is. You look fantastic."
"I feel tired. And gross," you told him as you got dressed.
"That's just the hideous uniform talking. You didn't feel gross last night when we were snuggling. And you certainly didn't look gross."
You wanted to agree with him, but you were in a bad mood. The attic still wasn't finished even though your contractor, Bradley Ross, was at your house so frequently, it felt like he had moved in. And your parents would be here in four days. And your house still wasn't decorated for the holiday. And the only gifts you managed to buy were matching pink tropical shirts for Bradley and the baby to wear next summer.
Your husband zipped up his flight suit and made his way around the bed to where you were standing. "Would you feel better if I picked up dinner on my way home so you don't have to cook?"
"Probably," you muttered, trying not to smile.
He kissed your forehead and gave you his most innocent looking gaze as his fingers grazed your belly. "And after that, I'll eat your pussy until my jaw locks up and you're in tears from too many orgasms?"
You had to press your lips together for a few seconds before you could say, "Please."
"Then it's a date, Baby Girl," he said before kissing you on the lips, leaving you to chase him for another feel of his rough mustache before you let him leave for his early flight time. "I love you and the Nugget!" he called from the hallway.
"We love you, too!"
Five minutes after he left, you were still getting ready for work. In fact, when your doorbell rang and Tramp went running through the living room, you were still buttoning your tent shirt. "I'm coming," you called out, already knowing it was your contractor. When you pulled the door open, your shirt was buttoned mostly correctly, and you told him, "I'm just about to head out."
"Okay," he replied, taking you in before you stepped aside for him. It didn't matter what your husband said, you were a bit of a hot mess right now. And that reminded you that you needed a little bit of hot sauce before you left for work.
"Do you need anything from me?" you asked Bradley Ross, and his gaze dipped down to your horrible uniform.
"Not at all," he replied, turning toward the stairs. "Enjoy your day."
You parted ways and headed for the kitchen, and you realized your shirt was even worse than you anticipated. You had to unbutton and rebutton the whole thing while your bread was in the toaster. When it came out nice and crunchy, you dipped it into a dish of hot sauce and ate it in four bites.
"It's so fucking good," you moaned at Tramp before scooping him some breakfast. "No hot sauce for you. Just for the human baby," you told him, holding your hand near your belly button as Rose started doing her somersaults. "You're up late this morning," you told her, deciding you better stop in the bathroom one more time before you even attempted the short drive to work with her bouncing on your bladder.
As soon as you were done and walked back through your bedroom, you eyed your bed longingly. "No," you told it, turning away from temptation and walking out to your red Bronco in the driveway. You backed out past the other Bradley's truck and drove to base.
You were already hungry again by the time you got there. When you turned the corner to your office, you found Maria standing next to your door. "Are you waiting for me?" you asked, and her gaze snapped up to yours. "I'm surprised you're here this early with Bob blowing your back out twenty-four hours a day." Tears filled her eyes instantly, and you rushed toward her. "Oh my god, Maria, what's wrong?"
She let you pull her into an awkward hug with your belly in the way, and she sobbed instead of responding with words, so you let her cry. She had been preoccupied at brunch with you and Cam, but she definitely hadn't been like this at all. If anything, she'd seemed like she was lost in a dream world with her French toast the other day.
She sniffed and managed to whisper, "Bob's being deployed for some special mission. He just texted me. He's leaving the day after Christmas."
"Oh," you gasped, rubbing her back as she cried. This would be the first time her boyfriend was deployed since they started hooking up a few months ago. They would be fine. You knew they would. But you recalled all too easily what it was like when Bradley was gone when you and he were first dating. It made you feel sick to recall the feelings of self doubt and uncertainty, especially now that your daughter would be arriving in three months.
You were about to tell Maria that Bob's deployment would feel terrible but wouldn't last forever when she said, "I have to break up with him."
"Pardon?" you asked, completely thrown by what she said. "I thought you were in love with him."
"I am," she cried as you finally unlocked your door with her clinging to you and managed to get her inside. "But I can't tell him that now. We've been taking things a little slower after taking things really fast right after he moved in."
You were trying your best to piece everything together, but it just wasn't all fitting in your mind. "That's good," you said gently. "So why would you have to dump him? You love him, and he'd be coming back to you and the apartment when he gets home?"
She looked at you and shook her head. "I can't expect him to go months and months without having sex. We do it like at least once a day," she whispered as tears flowed down her cheeks. "Maybe he'd agree to take a break? I don't know. But I can't get upset when he wants to hook up with someone else on the aircraft carrier."
You felt like your eyes were going to bug out. "Maria, I really don't think you should be hasty here."
She just shrugged in your arms before pulling away from you and wiping at her tears. "You're so lucky you have Bradley." She left you standing there, unsure what to say.
---------------------------
All of the holiday decorations had Bradley a little stressed out. Some of his neighbors had lights on the palm trees in their yards, and there was even a tree inside the guard house. He could remember very little about his dad, but Bradley could remember everything his mom did until he died. For the life of him, the one thing that escaped him was how she made even the most basic things feel magical.
She must have done it effortlessly, because he never took the time to look behind the proverbial curtain to see how it was done. There were always presents under their little Christmas tree even though he realized after she was gone that it must have been a struggle. And now Bradley wasn't sure how he was going to do the same when it all just seemed so stressful.
He snorted as he made his way across the tarmac to the tower. All you said you wanted for Christmas was a babymoon trip and a million orgasms. But you could have asked him for either of those on any day, and he would have given them to you. He needed to find something else for you, too.
"Are you having a baby shower?"
Bradley looked up to find his best friend was looking at him as soon as he walked into the rec room to get a drink. "Good morning to you, too," he said, reaching past her into the refrigerator.
"You need to have one, okay?" she said. "Your wife will like it."
Bradley felt a little more anxious, because he was going to have to admit he was clueless when it came to this topic as well. "Isn't that something her mom should do?"
Nat rolled her eyes. "That's a lot for her mom to handle when she lives on the other side of the country."
He cleared his throat. "Well, what do you even know about baby showers?"
"More than you," she said easily. "Which is why I'll take care of it."
Bradley sighed in relief. "You're not going to give me a hard time about this?"
"Of course not. When have I ever done that sort of thing?"
"Literally since the first time I met you," he muttered as she walked away. But he knew he had nothing to worry about; Nat would make sure you had exactly what you wanted or needed in any scenario.
A minute later, when he got called out to the tarmac, he found his best friend wrapping Bob up in a hug. While he wasn't invited into the conversation, he could hear the dreaded word 'deployment' as he walked past on his way to his jet, leaving him to assume Bob got a notification this morning. Poor Bob, but at least it wasn't him for once.
When he took to the air, Bradley immediately felt a bit calmer. He would figure out how to take care of everything with you by his side. He would make things special for Rosie in his own way. He could share all the things with her that he loved about his mom.
But the thing that calmed Bradley down most of all was arriving in the cafeteria for lunch in time to see you. "Sweetheart!" he called out, cutting in front of Jake and Javy to get to you faster. You had a burrito bowl in one hand and a bunch of little packets of hot sauce in the other, and you still looked cute in your tent uniform. Your face lit up when you saw him, and even though he reeked of jet fuel, you let him give you a hug.
"Do you know where Bob is?" you asked after you kissed him on the cheek. "He and I need to have a conversation."
Bradley ran his hand along your belly, hoping to feel a little thump from the Nugget. "I think he's been notified about a deployment," Bradley muttered.
"I know he has," you replied with strong annoyance in your tone. "Oh, there he is," you said, looking past Bradley. "Excuse me, Roo." You kissed him and added, "I love you, but I need to take care of this. I'll see you at home later when you're going down on me?"
Bradley nearly choked as he muttered, "Okay," while Jake and Javy clearly tried to hide their surprised and amused laughter.
You hurried off in Bob's direction as Javy said, "Nobody better try to call Rooster tonight."
"Silence your cell phone," Jake said, clapping Bradley on the back while he blushed. "Eat your lunch but save room for dinner."
"Fuck," Bradley grumbled, walking away from them as they laughed. Just for that, he'd make sure he was on his A game at home. He'd also have to remind you that your voice tends to carry when you're annoyed.
-----------------------------
You set your lunch down across from Bob at one of the small tables with only two seats. He smiled as you slid into the chair opposite him, and he greeted you by name. Then he cleared his throat and asked, "You're not sitting with Bradley today?"
You followed his gaze to where your husband was sitting with Nat and Mickey. "Nope. I wanted to sit with you."
"Okay," he replied, still smiling. "But I'm actually waiting for Maria?"
"She's not coming."
His smile started to fade. "She's not?"
"She's not," you confirmed. "She told me you're getting deployed soon." When he nodded, you asked, "Do you like having a girlfriend?"
His smile was back. "I like having Maria as my girlfriend."
You were shaking your head as you started emptying packet after packet of green hot sauce onto your lunch. "And are you planning on sleeping around while you're gone?"
"No." His voice sounded hoarse, and his face went pale.
"Glad to hear that," you told him as you rammed your fork into your burrito bowl.
"Why would you think I'd want to do that?" he asked, leaning a little closer to you, his brow creased in concern.
"I'm not the one thinking it. You better ask yourself why Maria might think you'd want to do that."
Bob's eyes went wide even as he blushed bright pink. "I don't know... I thought she knew how happy I am. I told her she makes me crazy... I said... I s-said I want to go at it all the time now. I've never been with someone like her." You shoved a bite of food into your mouth and chewed it up while he processed his words. "Wait... does she think I'm like obsessed with getting laid? Because I'm certain I'm just obsessed with her."
You nodded as you swallowed, proud of him for piecing it together so quickly. "Seems that way. You have about a week to put in some legwork if you don't want her to break up with you." In an instant, you were left with Bob's abandoned tray as your only lunch companion, and when he didn't return, you ate his breadsticks and baked pasta.
This was turning out to be the longest day imaginable, and when you finally climbed into your Bronco to head home, you were yawning. Then when you pulled into the driveway, not only was your Bradley not home yet, the other Bradley was still working. You grumbled as you made your way inside, where he was hammering something upstairs; you couldn't even start taking your horrible uniform off in the living room after you opted to wear it home today to get here faster.
When you let Tramp out of the laundry room and sent him to the backyard, you were fighting the urge to take your shirt off and walk through the house topless with every fiber of your being. You made it to your bedroom before tearing it from your body along with your uniform pants. You eyed the bed. You were tired enough to get in and stay there, but you wanted your reward for making it through the day.
"Takeout and head," you whispered, nodding in the mirror with a grin. You turned from side to side, examining your belly and your breasts. Rose was moving a lot today, so much so that you almost noticed it more when she took a break. And your boobs did look pretty nice. You took your bra off and added it to the laundry pile, and that's when your husband walked in.
"I brought pizza, Sweetheart," he said before his lips parted in soft surprise. "You trying to get started without me?" he groaned, reaching for his belt.
You bit your lip, and shook your head. "Do you think we should wait until the other Bradley leaves?" you asked, earning a devilish smirk from your husband.
"Didn't stop us last week when we had sex in the laundry room while he was working. And it didn't stop you from sucking my cock while he was here the week before." You squeaked as he smacked you on the butt and whispered, "You promised me I could have your pussy the second I got home."
"Did I?" you asked, climbing onto the bed, and he was right there with you, hovering over your body as you stretched out. When he nodded, you said, "Then I guess it's all yours, Roo."
But that wasn't even where he stopped first, and you shouldn't have been surprised. His lips met the valley between your very perky breasts while he unzipped his pants. Then you watched him rut gently into the bed as he licked and sucked on you. He had some particular fascination with your chest right now, and he was almost reverent in the way he touched you.
The sounds of hammering and soft music playing from upstairs were really doing it for you. Getting nasty while you weren't quite alone was always enough to get you going, but on top of that, your husband was so turned on by your weird pregnant body. You felt like a queen as he plucked at one nipple and then the other with his lips, leaving your skin damp to the cool air. Your nipples were furled into tight peaks as he whimpered your name.
"I can't get enough," he murmured, letting his mustache scrape along your sensitive skin. Your hips bucked from the bed as he let his teeth graze your nipple. "Where do you want my mouth?" he asked, meeting your eyes even as his tongue darted out to trace the undersides of your breasts.
"On my pussy," you gasped.
"I can't hear you."
"On my pussy!" you cried out, and he smiled that wicked smile again.
"Now everyone knows," he growled, leaning on his forearms and treating you to the flex of his biceps as he pushed your thighs apart and settled in.
---------------------------
Bradley had one perfect tit in each hand and his face buried in your soaking pussy. Each time he thought you were getting close, he lazily kissed along your dainty rooster tattoo and up to your belly. Once he even paused to say hello to his daughter while you dug your heel into his back and begged him incoherently to put his mouth back on your clit. And he did so with a smile.
Was he rock hard? Yes. Would he love to cum right now? Absolutely. Was he enjoying every second of the way your body felt and tasted? Definitely. Could he wait until he got you off to let himself unload? For sure.
Your tits were getting bigger and more enticing by the day. And your swollen belly was clearly all his doing. He was grinding his cock into the bed as he slid his hands down to your thighs, spreading you a little wider as he licked all around both of your holes until you were whining his name.
"Fuck," he grunted. Bradley Ross had just turned off his radio. That meant he was getting ready to head out for the day, which also meant the hammering had stopped. You were getting loud as hell as Bradley pressed his nose to your clit and lapped up your wetness. He was only concerned for a split second about your volume before he decided to just carry on. It wasn't like the contractor hadn't seen how hot you were with his own two eyes. Nobody could blame a man for getting at his own wife as much as possible, especially one with massive, pregnant tits and the prettiest face imaginable.
"Roo!" you moaned when he wrapped his lips around your clit. "Let me come, Daddy."
You were tired. He could hear it in your voice. The bedding was a little damp from the mess you and he were making, and his jaw truly was starting to ache. When you released the bedding with your left hand, Bradley could see the sparkle of your engagement ring before you dragged your fingers through his hair.
Okay, now he needed to get off pretty badly, so he slipped two fingers inside you, and as soon as he did, you came. "Damn," he grunted against your clit before circling you with his flat tongue as you rode his hand and yanked his hair. You were riding him as he pushed on the back of your thigh until he couldn't take it any longer.
He barked out your name as he got to his knees and thrust his cock inside your overstimulated pussy as you were coming down from your orgasm, and that just made you come for him a little more as you shook your head back and forth on the pillow. One more deep thrust, and he came too, with his hands on your tits and sweat dripping down the back of his neck.
When you opened your eyes, you had the most serene look on your face. Bradley kissed the tip of your nose as he pulled his cock free and grunted. "You know, the guys heard your little pussy eating comment at lunch today."
"Oops," you giggled, running your fingers softly over your tits as he stood up and started fixing his clothing.
"I got roasted for it all afternoon." But he was all smiles, because he really wouldn't have it any other way. "Come out and get some cold pizza when you're ready. I'm going to see how it's coming along upstairs."
You just nodded, and Bradley took one more look at the messy creampie he gave you before vanishing out into the hallway and closing the door behind him. The Craftsman smelled like sawdust and fresh paint, and he was really hoping the project would be completed in the next few days so your parents could sleep up there during their stay. Otherwise he might have to gag you during sexual activities, and he was only half joking in his mind.
Bradley Ross was carrying a paint can and some rollers down the stairs, heading right for the front door. "Have a good night," he called out, barely pausing to get through the door. Perhaps he'd heard your beautiful chorus of moaning. Didn't matter, but Bradley had hoped to ask him how much longer he thought the project would be. Instead he climbed the stairs to investigate for himself.
It looked incredible, and it seemed like a lot had been accomplished today. Two bedrooms of identical size were both primed and ready for paint. The hardwood flooring looked perfect, and the new windows were letting so much natural light in. The bathroom wasn't large, but it did have a tub and a single sink vanity, and the tiles you picked out looked pretty.
He shut all the lights off and headed back down to the kitchen where you were wearing a pair of his underwear with a maternity tank top, dunking a slice of pizza in some hot sauce. "How's it looking?" you asked. He knew you were talking about the attic, but he couldn't help himself as he grabbed a slice from the box.
"It's looking sexy and pregnant and like it just had an orgasm." You burst into laughter as he added, "The project upstairs looks good, too."
--------------------------------
Later that week, you got a vague text from Bradley letting you know that he'd be late getting home from work. You were expecting maybe he'd be home around six or seven, just in time to help you wrap the presents you ordered for your parents, but he didn't get home until almost eight, long after Bradley Ross left for the day.
He was quiet and looked contemplative when he walked in. "Hi," you called out from where you were sitting on the couch, and he finally met your gaze. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing." He made his way over to you. "Mav just wanted to chat. Is there any pizza left?"
He kissed you before heading to the kitchen, and you stared after him. "Of course there's no pizza left. I'm pregnant. And are you being weird on purpose? Why are you three hours late getting home?"
You watched as he started to pour a bowl of cereal in silence, and you weren't sure if he was even listening to you. When you made your way into the kitchen, he finally said, "There's a potential job opportunity. Remember when I filled in for a few days here and there as an instructor?" When you nodded he took a bite of cereal before continuing. "Mav seems to think I could do more of that type of shit."
Your eyes went wide at the prospect of fewer deployments for him. "That might be a good opportunity," you told him, still unsure exactly where he stood on the topic.
He just shrugged and said, "It's certainly something to think about, Sweetheart. Wouldn't really be happening until a few months from now, but I'm going to keep the conversation going with Mav."
It was then that you realized he looked exhausted. "Want to take a shower with me? I could wash your hair."
Your husband moaned softly and set his empty bowl in the sink. "Hell yes. Absolutely."
Within three minutes, you had your hands coated in shampoo, and you were working them through his thick hair while he felt around your belly, hoping to feel the baby kick. "I feel like I barely got to spend any time with her this week," he whispered with a pout. "Where's my Nugget?"
You felt her give a little thump, as if she knew he was right there waiting for her. You quickly placed his hand a little higher, and he sighed in contentment. "Hey, Rose. Daddy's tired. Can we all snuggle in bed soon?" She seemed to squirm in response. "Your grandparents are coming to visit tomorrow."
"And the attic conversion should be done tomorrow, too," you told him. "That's what the other Bradley said when he was leaving today."
"Amazing. Merry Christmas to us."
You practically tucked him into bed as soon as he was dried off, but he kept reaching for you to join him. "I need to let Tramp out. I'll be right back." You walked through the kitchen and past the refrigerator which was covered in ultrasound photos. Then you straightened up a little bit while Tramp ran around the yard. By the time you got back to the bedroom, Bradley had fallen asleep with the Nugget Notebook open on his chest and a pen in his hand. You took a peek to see what he had written.
Hey, Rosie. It's almost Christmas. I'm not really good at celebrating holidays, but your mom is. Her parents are, too. I'm hoping I'll kind of figure this whole thing out once you get here. I'm thinking you'll make everything more fresh and fun for your old man. We can get better at things together.
--------------------------------
You were more than ready for a few days off. When you left work on December twenty-first, you reminded Cat that you planned on dropping off some gifts for Jeremiah over the weekend. When you got to the parking garage, you saw Maria and Bob making out next to his truck. He had her hands pinned above her head, and she was all smiles. You felt immediately better.
You knew the plan for the evening, and so did Bradley. Your parents were landing in San Diego at 6:15, and you assured them that you'd be there to pick them up. When you got home from work, Bradley Ross was finishing some details upstairs, and you were delighted by what you saw when you went to have a look.
"It's perfect," you gushed, looking around the space. The one bedroom was almost ready for your mom and dad. Someone would just need to make the bed later. The bathroom was shiny and bright and lovely, ready to be used. The second bedroom still had some wet paint, but you planned on just closing that door for a few days. "Let me write you a check for the balance," you told your contractor when he was about ready to leave. "I'll meet you in the kitchen."
After you wrote out the check, you waited for both Bradleys while you dipped some grapes in hot sauce. It was almost time to leave for the airport, and you still needed to change out of your uniform tent. You undid the top few buttons and played with your necklace charms, and as soon as Bradley Ross walked downstairs with the rest of his supplies, you rushed his way.
"Here's what we owe you. Thanks again for squeezing us into your schedule so close to the holidays."
"I hope you are happy with the outcome for many years to come," he told you with a smile.
"It looks so good, I'll definitely refer my friends to you for any projects in the future."
"Thank you, Mrs. Bradshaw."
You didn't bother correcting him when he didn't use your hyphenated last name, because as soon as he walked outside, you had your shirt off and you were rushing toward your bedroom. But as soon as you passed your mirror on your bra on the way to the closet, you paused and smiled. Your husband would love a little treat in his text messages; it had been ages since you sent him something dirty.
You snapped a photo of your boobs as they were hugged by the black lace. Then you took your bra off, covering your nipples with your hand and forearm before snapping another. Then you removed your arm and took one last picture of your breasts complete with tightly furled nipples. You expected that your husband would run into the house begging for a quickie before heading to the airport. The thought of his flushed cheeks and raspy voice made you giggle as you attached the photos and texted them away.
His hyperfixation was so fun for you right now, and you started to wonder if he was going to be as excited by your boobs after the baby was born. Would he be interested in the breastfeeding process?
"Hey, Baby Girl."
You turned toward the doorway as you straightened your sports bra and pulled an oversized shirt on. "Hi," you said, trying to play coy, but just grinning wildly instead.
"You ready to go get your mom and dad?"
"Yeah... almost. You looked down at his gym shorts where you could see the outline of his phone in his pocket. You pouted a bit when you had to ask, "Did you like the photos I texted to you?"
His brow furrowed as he patted his pocket. "What photos?"
You sighed. "The ones I sent like five minutes ago."
You watched as he unlocked his phone and started to shake his head. "I don't have any messages from you since lunchtime. What was it?"
"Thee pictures of my massive tits," you told him as you reached for his phone. But when you checked, they definitely weren't there. "Maybe I didn't tap send?" you murmured picking your phone up from the bed.
Bradley's arms wrapped around you from behind, and you could hear the smile in his voice when he whispered, "Can't wait to see them for myself." But you froze and tried to shake him off as your stomach lurched.
"Oh no. No no no no no!"
"What's wrong, Sweetheart?"
You handed him your phone and covered your eyes as you started to panic. Apparently you hadn't tapped on Bradley Rooster Bradshaw <3 <3 <3 in your contacts. After you started typing his name, you must have accidentally selected Bradley Ross as the recipient. "Bradley! I sent them to the other Bradley!"
His eyes bugged out as he saw the photos in the message for himself. "You sent our contractor pictures of your tits!"
"I didn't do it on purpose!" you shrieked. "They were for you! What are we supposed to do now?!"
He pocketed both phones, heaved a deep, exhausted sigh and muttered, "I'm going to have nothing but fucking gray hair after this, I swear to god." Then he rushed from the room and you followed him long enough to watch him grab his keys and run out to his Bronco.
-----------------------------
Checking in with Maria and Bob was dramatic. Like damn. At least BG got to eat his lunch. And now we have the great Bradley mix-up to contend with. Thanks @beyondthesefourwalls

user60286430: didn't they just get married like five seconds ago?😅
I met my now husband George four years ago. He followed me on instagram, I followed him back and not long after that we were dating. Last year he proposed and just under a month ago we had our wedding, which was beautiful and only had our closet friends and family.
An hour ago I took a pregnancy test. I was only a day late on my period but I took it just in case. I could hardly believe it when I saw two lines and it was so faint that I convinced myself I was seeing things so I decided to sleep on it and then tell George when I knew for sure.
But I just couldn't keep it a secret. I blurted out, "George, I think pregnant." As soon as he walked through the front door after his shoot with Arthur tv. He was baffled. "You- woah- you think?" I nodded. He took a moment to process what I just said. "And you took a test?" He finally asked. "Yeah, the lines were really faint though. I was gonna wait until tomorrow to tell you but- it just came out."
He stepped forward and wrapped his arms around my shoulders. I let out a soft sigh of relief. "If you are then I'll be so happy," he whispered into my hair. I smiled, though he couldn't see me. "I'm so overwhelmed," I mumbled. His hand made its way up to my hair and he gently ran it over my scalp, silently reassuring me.
That night everything felt so strange. You're supposed to take the tests in the morning anyway for the most accurate results so we were just waiting and trying not to get our hopes up in case it wasn't positive.
The next morning I woke to an empty bed. I reached for my phone and then read the text George had sent me just ten minutes ago; "gone to buy more tests, hopefully I'll be back before you're awake x" I sighed softly then got up.
As I was brushing my teeth the front door clicked open and soon George was walking into the ensuite. He smiled softly as he wrapped his arms around my waist from behind, looking at me through the mirror. "Ready, love?"
"You look. I can't." I quickly passed the upside down test to George as we sat on the end of our bed. Just seconds before, the alarm on my phone rung but I couldn't bring myself to look at the test.
He took it and flipped it over. A wide smile spread across his face as an excited chuckle escaped his mouth. "Seriously?" I asked, shocked. "Y- yeah, you're pregnant!" He shot up of the bed. I giggled. "I'm gonna be a dad!" He pulled me up and into a bone crushing hug.
The next two months weren't very fun. At the beginning we were both so ecstatic. Then the morning sickness hit. I could barely eat, sleep and it was becoming impossible to make up excuses for why I couldn't go out.
George was like my rock through the entire ordeal. He was by my side every time I had to run to the bathroom, he held me and gently stroked my back as I tried to get some sleep, he pleaded with the doctor when we went for my first appointment hoping there was something, anything they could do and he let me ramble on about how I just wanted to feel normal again.
Slowly our friends figured it out and offered their help. The girls put together a basket and Faith made sure to include everything that helped her through her first trimester, Chris came round to keep me company while George had to go and film something for a brand deal and George's sister sat with me as we online shopped since I couldn't really go out.
When the sickness slowly started to ease off everyone was so relieved, George especially because he hated seeing me constantly upset. I was finally able to enjoy pregnancy, announce it on instagram and suddenly the last few months were erased from my mind.

At twenty two weeks we went on our little baby moon. I spent twelve days relaxing in the sun while George fussed about suncream and making sure I was in the shade. Since becoming pregnant he's been much more protective, which I don't mind since it's never overbearing. He's just trying to help in anyway possible.
"Good morning sleepy head." George greeted me quietly, sitting on the side of the bed next to my sleepy form and gently pushing the messy hair from my face. "Mornin'" I mumbled, shuffling slightly. He leaned down to press a soft kiss to my forehead before asking if I wanted some breakfast, to which I immediately nodded.
We left our little apartment after getting ready and walked hand in hand down the street towards the cute little outdoor café we'd spent quite a few mornings in the past week and a half.
"Thank you." I smiled at the young girl handing me my pancakes. "Will that be all?" She asked politely after placing George's breakfast in front of him. I nodded and she walked away.
"Mmm, I'm so glad I can actually enjoy food again," I said after swallowing a mouthful of food. George just stared at me. "What?" "I just love watching you." I chuckled. "That sounds a bit creepy babe."
When the day came that our baby moon was over I was sad to be leaving such a beautiful place that I'd made life long memories in but I was secretly very excited to be going home and getting back into normal life.

y/nfanpage21: you, the bump, the flowers, all so cute💝
user10479624: you're both going to be the best parents
The next few months were spent relaxing and preparing for the arrival of our baby, who we found out the sex of just after our baby moon. We had a little gender reveal at our apartment with our families and a few special friends. We decided on a cake, classic, cute and delicious.
"I can't tell!" George announced. I stood next to him, my hand holding the knife that was cutting through the cake. Both of us were trying to peek at the sponge but it wasn't until I pulled the slice out that we spotted the pink.
Immediately the room erupted into cheers. I placed it down on a plate along with the knife and I turned to my husband. Tears welled in my eyes and when he wrapped his arms around me and pulled my body off of the ground the commotion around us seemed to disappear and all I could focus on was us.
"We're having a girl," I whispered, as though I was trying to convince myself that this was actually real. He gently placed me down, his hands landing on my hips. "I knew it. Dad intuition goes crazy." I giggled before pushing onto my tip toes and placing a loving kiss to his lips.
After that day I was suddenly obsessed with buying baby clothes, what the nursery was going to look like and the realisation hit me that I was actually going to have to push a human being out of my body, though George was quick to reassure me about that.
"Baby's the size of a small pineapple this week," I informed George as we sat on the couch, my feet resting on his lap as he slowly massaged them through my socks. I turned my phone around so he could see the app that keeps track of the baby.
"That's huge." He muttered, eyes widening slightly. I chuckled. "When she's done cooking she'll be the size of a pumpkin." "Oh god, I'm sorry." My brows furrowed, an amused look on my face. "What are you apologising for?"
"You're gonna have to lug around a pumpkin sized baby," he replied, deadly serious. I just laughed, though I wasn't particularly looking forward to that.
The months flew by and suddenly I was actually carrying a pumpkin sized baby in my stomach. At thirty seven weeks my back constantly ached, I needed to pee every five minutes, I wasn't sleeping properly since I had a future gymnast kicking around in my stomach and all in all I was just uncomfortable.
Since I could now go into labour at any second George was watching me like a hawk. Every grimace when I felt an extra strong kick, every sigh and every time my hand touched my stomach he would sit upright and just wait for me to say something.
"I'm fine, George," I'd say. "Just checking," he'd reply and that interaction would repeat itself another one hundred times before the day ended.
"I won't go if you don't want me to, Chris can find someone else last minute," George whispered as we lay in bed, my back pressed against his chest as he gently drew circles on the side of my bump. "No, I'll be okay. It's only a few hours," I mumbled back, half asleep. "Okay, just promise you'll call me if anything happens?" "Promise."
He left early the next morning to film the football video for Chris' channel, meaning I woke up alone. I went about my routine like normal though it felt like it was taking me longer to do my usual things, like I was moving at snail pace, which was slightly strange but I brushed it off.
An hour later I lay on the couch scrolling through instagram when I felt a twinge in my lower stomach. My brows furrowed slightly. "That was weird," I thought but I continued to scroll.
Until I felt it again. This time I decided to keep my promise to George and phone him. It ring a few times before he picked up. "Everything okay? Is it the baby?" He said immediately in a rushed tone. "I'm not sure, I just feel... weird."
He took in a shaky breath. "I knew I shouldn't have come today! I'm coming home." "It's fine, I'm- we're fine. Calm down-" "no no, I'll be there in twenty minutes, love you." And with that he ended the call. I sighed, feeling slightly bad that he'd had to leave the shoot but also a little relieved.
Just under twenty minutes later he burst through our apartment door. I stood in the kitchen, hands on the countertop as I took a deep breath, eyes squeezed shut. I heard his bags drop then the sound of his feet racing towards me.
"You said you just felt weird!" He placed his hand on the small of my back. I looked up at him as the pain subsided. "I did! It started getting worse after I called you."
George collected himself. "Okay okay, you're having contractions?" "Mhm, think so," I responded quietly. "How far apart?" "Like five minutes." He thought back to the birthing class we'd gone to last month. "I think we've got some time and the woman said the first kid always takes a while so let's not stress," he tried to reassure me and himself.
"I'll go get the bag, you just- uh... breathe." I chuckled softly, already calmer now that he was here. He emerged from our bedroom minutes later with the small suitcase in hand.
It took half a hour to get out of the door, drive to the hospital and get checked into a room. After that we could both relax.
The contractions weren't unbearable but I wanted the epidural as soon as possible. "Hmf-" I squeezed George's hand. "Another one?" He asked softly. All I could do was nod. "You're doing amazing sweetheart, so so good. I'm so proud of you."
Once I got the injection I felt like a million bucks. I couldn't feel the contractions, just a little bit of pressure. I sat in the bed happily as I ate my ice chips. Before I knew it, it was time to push.

"She looks just like you," I said as I watched George's eyes fill with tears, his arms secured around his daughter, just ten minutes after she'd entered the world. He glanced down at me. "I love you so much, this is officially the best day of my life," he whispered. I smiled fondly and somehow I fell in love with George all over again, in a completely different way.
We spent a day and a half in the hospital before being discharged. It had been just me, George and the baby in a little room so it felt amazing to go home. I waddled after my husband as I watched him carry our newborn -who slept soundly in her car seat- out and toward the car. He strapped her in then helped me into the backseat.
"I get what people were taking about now," I said as he stared the engine. "Huh?" "I saw a video about the 'hot dad walk' out of the hospital and I totally get them." He chuckled, though he was cautious of the sleeping baby.
After a few days and once we were in somewhat of a routine his family came over to visit. His slightly younger sister was so excited and could barely keep quiet. "She's adorable. Oh my goodness, look at her little feet!" "Okay everyone, no touching until you've washed your hands!" He announced, pointing towards the kitchen sink.
I watched with a smile on my face as he fussed over whether Maddie's head was supported, it was extremely sweet how much he cared for and loved our daughter. I couldn't wait to watch as he became the best dad ever.

The Things I Never Said: Part 3
Pairings: Simon 'Ghost' Riley
Summary: You're required for one last mission.
Word Count: 2.5k
Tw: aaaaaangst, hurt with a lot of comfort. injuries, mentions of blood, kissing and slightly suggestive but nothing too explicit. price has to make a hard choice:(poor grammar, bad english ofc💅🏻 foreshadowing to my price fic 'salvation' if you squint.
A/N: i'm not gonna lie, when i wrote the first part of this fic i was bored and never in a million years did it cross my mind y'all would like it this much. sorry if this isn't as good, this is the final part of it, although i plan to write little drabbles every now and then. this was such a nice ride 🩷✨ thx for the support; remember english isn't my first language, corrections are welcome 🤍🐸
Masterlist✨ Part 2
Desk rotation wasn't fun, but it seemed to be the only suitable work for you considering your pregnancy, besides, it would allow Simon to keep an eye on you. At least he's sure you'd be safer in the military base than alone in your home.
Your only companion as you sit in the tech room is nothing more than a computer with two screens and Jimmy, the other tech guy who sits in the far corner across from you.
True to his word, Price had saved you and Simon a horrible martial court plus being discharged. Technically you're no longer a part of the 141 task force which is already upsetting to all of your team; instead working strictly under Price's command and assisting the different branches of the military. Meaning you're no longer subdued to Lieutenant Riley, therefore you're not his subordinate, at least not directly.
You respond to Price and only Price.
Nearing the end of your first trimester your swollen belly has started to show, the same you try to dissimulate by wearing bigger shirts than you would usually wear, but enough for Simon to notice when he'd place a big calloused hand on your stomach.
'It's... tiny.' He had stated, to which you laughed softly.
'Of course it is, your hand is massive!'
You shake your head, with a small smile on your lips as you remember that scene.
"Everything good?" You ask your companion.
"Mhm. You know you're the best for creating the security system right? Not a single breach or flaw. Couldn't ask for a better partner."
"Is that a chai?" Completely ignoring what he just said you point the white disposable cup next to him. He looks between you and his drink.
"Yeah? Didn't know you liked it, here... have it. I can get another." He assures you when you hesitate.
You thank him with glowing eyes and excitement. Cravings... you're embarrassed of the amount of food you've asked from Simon in the middle of the night. Sushi, pizza and even peaches just for the sake of the baby.
He's being the gentlest man on earth. Caring and supportive. Your phone buzzes as you're about to start to work. The screen lights up with a message from your Captain. Huffing you stand up, letting Jimmy know you'll be back in a few minutes, or so you thought.
You're not prepared for the hell unfolding inside John's office.
You're able to hear male voices from the other side of the hallway. You don't know why but your heart begins to race, knocking twice once you've reached the brown wooden door.
"Come in!" Price shouts from inside.
You open the door, greeted by John's hardened eyes and Simon's back as he hunches over the Captain's desk. Confused and much to your dismay there's a gigantic folder between the two men, your eyes fall on Ghost's trembling frame.
He is enraged.
Body buzzing in anger as the soft click of the door interrupts the silence that's fallen suddenly inside.
"You wanted to see me Sir?"
Price slowly stands, Simon doing the same, turning his head ever so slightly to watch you from over his shoulder.
"I need to talk to you, sweetheart." Price begins.
A deep breath exits Simon's chest.
"What is it?" You take a step closer to them, until you're standing next to him, crossing his arms over his chest he remains silent.
"We need you. For a mission." He states. "It's important, sergeant. I don't think anyone else would be able to pull this off." Your eyes dart back to your boyfriend. Staring daggers at his superior. "I'd never ask for this if I had to."
"Bloody hell Price, she's not fucking going!" He is seething.
The gut-wrenching feeling sets in your belly, tossing and turning with anxiety. Simon isn't taking this well and you don't want to see him like this, it breaks your heart.
"How important, Sir?" You ask.
Ghost snaps his head towards you. Jaw tightening, and calls your name ever so softly.
"Don't." He barks. "Don't fucking play the hero, kid." He warns you.
"I'm not trying to play the hero, Simon." You talk back. "I'm trying to figure out how to get this done. I might have someone else that could go in my place." Price sighs. "Can I do it from the base? Maybe I don't have to leave the compound."
"Reports say the files are heavily encrypted. It's the Russians, sergeant. We're not dealing with amateurs." He turns to Ghost emphasizing the last word. "You more than anyone should understand, Lieutenant."
"Not when you're bloody sending her to a suicide mission!"
"These are not my orders Simon! General Shepherd wants her! I tried to talk him out of it. I can't do much more, son." You swallow when Simon starts pacing around like a rabid dog, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Is there any way I can do it? She can guide me through it the whole time..." he's back, leaning closer to his Captain. "I know I...-"
"Unless you know how to code and decrypt systems to perfection it can't be, Ghost. I'm sorry."
"It would only slow down the mission, get you caught. And in danger..." you reasoned, mumbling and staring down to your feet. There's no one else. Not even Jimmy. The one you had in mind.
Simon's mouth snapped shut.
His eyes are helpless when he connects them with yours. The realization of what's about to happen sinking in his core, he tried. He really did.
One long stride and he's embracing you, so tightly you think you'll suffocate; you hug him back, head resting right over where his heart beats frantically against his ribcage.
"I'm coming with her." He snarls. "Not Kyle, not Johnny. And certainly not someone from fucking KorTac." He turns to glare at Price with a death stare. "It'll be me, no one else."
-
"John's devastated." You tell him. Your back pressing against his hard chest. The water in the bathtub is warm, and smells like lavender and sandalwood. After the catastrophic meeting a few hours ago, Simon was too outraged to remain at the base so he drove both of you back to the safety of his apartment. You rest your head on his left shoulder, enjoying the delicate touch of his hands on your lower belly. He hums, almost absentmindedly. He didn't want to think about Price, or the mission for all that matters. All he can think of is you. He sighs, closing his eyes he presses a kiss on your hair.
"Bloody fucking bald cunt." He spits. You snort at his comment. Shepherd was a complicated man, and hardly one you could negotiate with once he had his mind set on something or someone.
"When do we have to...-"
"Tomorrow." Your lips are pressed into a thin line. "I'll be there no matter what, right next to you, love." He reassures you. You were never one to hesitate during missions but now... releasing a shaky breath you turn your head to look at Simon.
"I'm scared..." Simon's body goes rigid. The hand on your stomach halting. "It's not even for me, you know?" Swallowing your free hand reaches down to find his own, lacing your fingers with him. A muscle becoming prominent in his jaw as he grits his teeth.
"Nothing will happen to you. Bloody count on it, yeah? First shite I deem dangerous I'm pulling us out of there, understand?" You nod.
"Promise me you won't get hurt." There's a moment of silence that becomes unbearable the longer it extends. "Simon..." his eyes are fixated on yours, shining with what you can only describe as worship. The faintest of smiles spreads across his features.
"Don't you worry about me, sweetheart. Not for one second." Breathing deeply you pull him down for a kiss. It's slow and tender; makes you forget about all the difficulties you face. Biting down his lip, Simon takes it as a sign to further deepen the kiss. Tongues finding each other in a fight for dominance. "Don't wanna think about what tomorrow holds. I have you here right now. That's all I need."
-
Your mind goes back to the moments you and Simon shared last night. It was so simple, so real.
That's how things were supposed to be.
Easy.
Not heart wrenching, not stifling down a cry as you watch him get shot. A bullet that was aimed at you .Breaking in had been easy. Way too easy for your liking. But you thought that for once maybe a mission wouldn't be a pain in the ass. The hardest part was getting inside their systems; John was right. It was hellish even for you. It took more time than what you had anticipated. No one would've been able to pull it off.
"Whoever is behind this, they're good." You acknowledged as you type down the codes that will eventually get you in.
"Bloody brilliant you are, kid." Simon watches from the other side of the room, eyes scanning the hallway every now and then looking for any possible hostiles. You send him a coy smile.
"Keep looking at me like that and I'll get no work done."
"How am I supposed to look at you then?" He asks
You don't answer because the screen in front of you suddenly shifts from 'Access denied' to 'Access granted'.
"Got you." You whisper. Simon stands straight. You plug your USB and start downloading all the information as well as setting a virus so their system gets permanently damaged.
"What is it?" He gruffly asks when the files finished downloading on your own device. Clearing your throat you try to ignore the horrible pictures you just took a glimpse of.
"Just... insanity." Is all you can say. A loud metallic sound echoes in the room, you never get to see the person behind you. Ghost's eyes widen and he barks an order your ears don't register, static fills your eardrums. The gunfire starts but lasts mere seconds. Crimson blood splutters from Simon's body.
You stand up, knocking down the chair as you jump out and run where Simon's injured body kneels. You fall down grabbing him by the face. The pain you're feeling deep inside has never been worse.
"I'm fine." He hisses. "Just my fucking shoulder."
As if that would make you feel better.
"Let's get the hell out of here." Your lips quiver. You run back to retrieve the small USB drive.
The body of a man lays down, a pool of blood forms around him. He was hiding behind you the entire time. Had Simon been distracted the outcome could've been atrocious. Yo don't dwell on it.
"Come on, baby." You urge him, crouching down to help Simon as much as you can to get him standing. His weight is just too much for you, you think, when he finally raised to his feet.
"S'okay love. Don't... don't overwork yourself. I'm too heavy, don't wanna get you hurt because of me."
Tears form in the corner of you eyes at such selfless act.
"You're the one who got hurt because of me, Simon." You stammer.
"So what? Would fucking die for you." You shake your head but keep close to him. Pressing down the wound on his shoulder as you head towards the exit. "Evac point is ten minutes away. We should be fine." The gun that rests on your thigh feels heavier than it should.
You're lucky, you guess as you walk away from the god forsaken building.
Lucky that you have him by your side, even when his blood stains your fingers. He's there, you're there and you're making it out alive. Wounded or not, Simon would never let anything happen to you, that's how deep his love for you was.
He wasn't like his dad at all.
He was real, caring, something not much people knew. Not in their lifetime.
The amount of blood he was losing was inhumane. An injured shoulder couldn't cause someone to lose this much blood, you ponder. Your black shirt feels sticky and damp, you take a quick glance and hold back a sob. Another gunshot wound, one he didn't care enough to tell you about and you didn't notice, too scared to even think.
Far in the distance between two big threes a black truck awaits. Johnny's face dropping when he noticed Ghost's decaying form. He rushes in your direction, taking him off of you, carrying his weight. He gives you a concerned look.
"Johnny..." you choke up. "We have to save him, please."
-
It's been the worst 48 hours of your life since you landed. He got two surgeries done in order to remove the fragments from inside his body. You were exhausted, barely ate or slept. It almost felt criminal, selfish, when your eyes started to close and finally gave in.
Then the nightmares came.
Ones where he didn't make it back and instead you had to leave him behind and never got to meet his child.
A warm feeling spreads from your skin. A faint touch. Are you still dreaming? His face erupts in your subconscious mind and you cry again. He's fine.
When you slowly open up your eyes you're met with blue eyes and a raspy voice.
"Don't neglect yourself for me, kid." You're speechless, the searing pain in your heart eases. He knows you so well. Knows you haven't left his side. "Takes more than a bullet to keep me away from you." When you don't move nor speak he continues, clearing his throat. "Come here, sweet thing."
There's a new wave of tears that fall mercilessly down your cheeks. You carefully climb up next to Simon's good side.
"Don't you ever scare me like that!" you weep. Sobbing uncontrollably Simon hushes you. Murmuring words of comfort in your ear. The anesthesia is still making him feel dizzy but that doesn't stop him from kissing every part of your face. Your hair, your forehead, your cheek and finally your lips.
"Let's leave this place for a while. Go on vacation while we still can..." you beg.
Simon's lips twitch. He's smiling down at you.
"What do you have in mind doll?"
You breathe deeply.
"Greece. I always wanted to go to Greece."
There's moments in life when you doubt you'll get a happy ending. Being with Simon at first was pure coincidence, something that had evolved from deep admiration and respect, which then turned into something more. It turned out to sleepless nights at the common room with the task force. Longing stares during briefings. Looking after each other during missions.
The training sessions together. Lending his massive leather jacket because you were always reluctant to bring your own. That one night he couldn't resist it anymore and went to your dorm. How you felt under his touch, oh he was touch starved when it came to you. And when he learned he was going to be a father, that moment would be ingrained into his memory until his very last day.
"Greece it is."
It's a promise.

Anger
Vicky Losada x Putellas!Reader
Summary: Your phone kept ringing
You frowned as you stared down at your phone.
"What is it, amor?" Your wife asked as she watched you stare.
"Alexia's been calling me," You replied," And then Alba's texted to say not to answer her. Huh...I wonder what's wrong."
"They're probably fighting," Vicky said," You know how they are."
You rolled your eyes. "Yeah, I do." You bit your lip. "But I'm a little worried. What if something bad has happened?"
"If something bad has happened," Vicky said," Then your Mama would have been the one to call. Come, sit down. The stress isn't good for the baby."
You heeded your wife's advice, taking a seat on the sofa.
Your pregnancy hadn't come as a surprise. You and Vicky had been trying for months now but each time the IVF treatment hadn't stuck until this final try. You hadn't really told anybody, content to keep it private until you got through the first trimester.
But now, as you approached the end of your second and began to show, you and Vicky had been discussing who to tell.
"If it's so bad then I'm sure you'll get another call later," Vicky assured you as you fretted throughout dinner.
"I...I'm just worried. Alexia called me so much and now it's just radio silent."
Vicky stood from her seat at the table and crossed over to you, a hand coming to rub soothing circles on your arm. "It'll be fine, amor. Your sisters probably had an argument they wanted you to finish."
You looked at your phone on last time before nodding. "You're right. Of course you are." You drained your glass of water. "Did you make dessert? The baby's craving something sweet."
Vicky grinned at you, always in sync with you. "Of course she is."
You ended up on the sofa a moment later with a warm dessert and cream. Vicky had you curled up into her side, an arm gently rubbing circles on your bump as she narrated the show to your baby.
You knew it was to be a girl, having been convinced by Vicky to find out the gender so you could plan accordingly. The pair of you were bouncing between name ideas and how to announce the upcoming pregnancy to your friends and family.
The doorbell rang just as Vicky tried to convince you that telling your family would be best if you paired it with a little Barcelona jersey like how your mother had revealed all of her own pregnancies.
"Were we expecting someone?" You asked, leaning your head over the back of the sofa to look at the door.
The bell rang again.
Then somebody thumping on the door.
Vicky sighed deeply. "If it's Julia or Katie coming to bother us, I'm going to kill them."
You laughed. "Well, if they're bringing more food, kill them after. Your baby sure is hungry tonight."
Vicky rolled her eyes even though a smile poked through on her face. She was still looking at you as she swung open the door, which was why she probably didn't realise what was going on until it was too late.
A hand clawed into the fabric of her top and slammed her into the hallway wall.
"Madre mia!" You exclaimed in shock.
Your oldest sister had your wife up against the wall, practically spitting in anger.
The sudden radio silence from Alexia now made sense.
She was still dressed in her Barcelona training shirt.
Clearly she had caught the first plane to England.
"Alexia?!" You demanded," What you doing here?!"
She ignored you in favour of shoving Vicky further into the wall.
"Where do you get off?!" She demanded," Knocking up my sister?! Huh?!"
Vicky, somehow able to wrench her eyes from Alexia, looked at you in disbelief. "You told her?!"
"No!"
"Jenni told me!" Alexia yelled," Don't talk about me like I'm not here!"
You glared at your wife. "You told Jenni?!"
"It was an accident!"
"Which part?! Telling Jenni or knocking up my sister?!"
"Shut up, Alexia!" Both of you yelled.
"How do you accidentally tell Jenni?"
"She asked about you and I told her that you'd been having me get food at stupid o'clock in the morning and she made a joke about you maybe being pregnant. And I just...kind of didn't say anything and she worked it out herself."
You let out a big sigh, rubbing your temples to try and stop the impending headache. "Amor, I know it was an accident but we purposely said we couldn't tell Jenni just yet because she would blab to everyone."
"Well, she did blab to everyone," Alexia said," But me specifically." She crossed her arms over her chest. "Do you know how embarrassing it is to get a call from my ex-girlfriend congratulating me on becoming an aunt and having no idea about it?! I even had to call Alba to check that she hadn't heard either!"
"Why don't you let go of Vicky," You said," And sit down. We'll explain everything."
"Why can't you explain everything here?"
"Because you look like you're a moment away from killing my wife and I kind of need her around when I get fat and can't move anymore."
It took a few minutes but eventually, Alexia was convinced to sit in the armchair as you and Vicky took up your spots on the sofa again.
"Well? Explain."
"Well-"
"Not you, hemanita," Alexia cut you off, staring daggers at Vicky," I want her to explain."
"Ale, really, this is-"
She held up her finger and you fell silent. You squeezed Vicky's hand.
"We did IVF," Vicky said eventually," And it didn't work and then it did."
"You got my sister pregnant, is what you're saying."
"Well, technically-"
"You knocked up my sister."
Vicky sighed. "Yes. I knocked up your sister."
Alexia was silent for a long moment before she sighed deeply. She rose to her feet and Vicky stood as well, blocking Ale's path to you.
They stood eye to eye.
Alexia shook Vicky's hand, squeezing ever so slightly and leaning forward to whisper," If you dare to make her even cry during this pregnancy, you'll be shipped back to Spain in a matchbox."
Alexia hugged you tightly, laying kisses upon your cheek. She dropped to her knees. "May I?" At your nod, she lifted your top and pressed a kiss to your bump. Your hand came to card through your sister's hair as your wife pressed a kiss to your other hand.
"Hi, baby," Alexia whispered," I'm your Tia Alexia. I probably won't see you a lot but I'll make sure that your mamas bring you back every holiday and we will kick a ball around. And I'll make sure to come to your first games when you get old enough."
"And walk her to her first day at La Masia," You continued with a smile.
Alexia looked up in shock. "Her? La Masia?"
"It's a girl," Vicky said," We found out last week."
"And La Masia?"
"Once the season's up, we're coming back to Spain. My manager is already putting out feelers for clubs."
"We're coming home, Ale. I want the bebita to grow up with you and Alba and Mama and Vicky's family. We can't do that if we're stuck in England all the time."
She surged towards you, one arm around you and the other around Vicky, holding you both tightly against her.
"You're making me a Tia," She said finally," Thank you." She looked at Vicky and wiped away her tears. "Sorry, about earlier. It's just-"
"Your littlest sister is pregnant and you found out through Jenni. I understand. But hey, now that you're here, explain to y/n that the best way to tell your Mama is to get a baby-sized Barca jersey."

Disrespect
Synopsis: Harry walks in to see YN being mistreated by his fans at her work
Series Masterlist | More of my work
"Harry!"
It was eight the morning when Harry heard YN calling him from the shower whilst he was preparing for breakfast.
"You alright?" He rushed back to their bedroom to watch her head popped out of the bathroom door, he could really see she was butt naked in the mirror behind her through the cracked door. "What?"
"I forgot my towel." She said, obviously sheepish smile on her face.
"You could have come out you know." He suggested already going to fetch the towel for her. "I can see your bum in the mirror there."
She rolled her eyes, "like you haven't seen it already." And it's cold to walk out of shower butt nakey without a towel.
"I have, I have," he agreed.
"Can I wear one of your hoodie?" She asked, taking the towel from him. He got a thank you kiss on the cheek instead of her saying it out loud.
"When do you not?" He shrugged, "you've stole all my clothes. Just got me boxers to my name."
YN just giggles, "they're comfy!"
"And you know you don't have to ask me, darling." He assured her, watching her walk out with the towel wrapped around her body. "Are you still sore?" Enquiring about the changing weather which triggers her arthritis, he wrapped his arms around her from behind. Also, they went a little too rough last night. Bask in the fresh smell of her body wash.
"A hot shower helped, can definitely walk now." She shared. He caught her towel which unraveled to her chest.
"I really do go at it like a rabit." He realised. "But can you blame me though!"
"No one's blaming you." She resumed picking out her clothes and a hoodie from his side of the closet with a six feet tall, man baby clinging onto her.
"I think you should take the day off." He suggested. "I crave attention today!"
"I already took up all paid leaves, I can't." She cooed, "it's Friday. I'll be home for the weekend, I promise."
"You're not going over to Brielle's, this weekend?" His earn perked up like a cat at the news.
She has been going over to her friend's because she was really struggling in the last trimester of her pregnancy, with her Fiancé working extra hours at office so he can take the leave, her mum being busy with work the girl pregnant with twins was left alone for the most of the time. YN was a good friend, it really warmed his heart to see how she cared for people close to her. He didn't mind when she went over to her friend's house for the day on weekend.
"Yeah, she said her Fiancé's paternity leave begins from today." She shared.
"Well, good, I get to have my girl to myself." He sighed dropping his head into the crook of her neck, his soft lips brushing against her soft skin. "When do you get off work today?"
"At five." She reached for her pants hung on the hangers. "Haz, you're tickling me!" She squealed feeling his finger tips dig in her side making him chuckle. He press his lips onto her bare shoulder, coming to halt with his teasing.
"Alright then, I'm dropping you off on my way to gym and I'll be coming over to pick you up as well." He announced his plan, tucking the loose end of the towel back in so it wouldn't fall off when he pulled away.
"Mhmm." She nodded.
......................................................................
YN's day was going super well today. Especially because they were not short staffed today. And she gets to see her man at the end of the day who had just dropped her off at work this morning.
Today they had very generous customers coming in who did not hesitate to give tips. It wasn't a common thing for folks in UK to tip, and not to take it wrong they get paid fair wages. YN's boss ensures that they get their holiday bonuses every time. But there are employees who had many good uses of those extra tips.
"YN, would you mind?" Emily gestured a request for her to go over to the til whilst she get the order ready. YN stood behind the vacant register, next to her other co-worker Kathleen, who was already taking in a order.
"Hello good evening, what can I get for you today?" She smiled greeting the two girls who'd just walked in. She could already sense the vibes as if she's a psychic. Especially with a LOT tote bags and Pleasing hoodie. Both of the girls had their heads buried into their phones, air pods in.
"I'll take an iced mocha latte," the girl in the yellow hoodie said. YN decided to ignore the fact her head was still down.
"Can I'll take a black coffee." The other one said who had the decency to at least look at her.
"I'll also take a chocolate croissant." Now the girl in the yellow hoodie looked up at YN, who was punching in the order in the register as if she was on autopilot.
"What size to you want it to be?" YN asked more about their vague order.
"The croissant?" The yellow hoodie scoffed.
"Coffee?" YN said, but it came in as more of a question. How stupid a person have to be to ask thay question... But who is she to judge?
"Make the black coffee a medium please, with no sweetner."
"Make mine a medium too then I guess!" You g lady said, rather rudely when YN looked at her for her order.
"Okay," she nodded, "do you want it with regular milk or substituted milk?"
"Duh, regular milk."
Kathleen looked at YN as she patiently deal with these teenagers. She proceeded to ask their names to put on the cups. Trice and Juniper it was.
Not to take this in a wrong way, her co-workers felt bad for her. Because from this past week she's got her boyfriend's fans coming in just to mistreat her and bully her. Yes, all of the people who work with YN are Harry's huge fans but they respect him enough to be involved in his personal business with their co-worker. Everyone loved YN at the cafe, especially the frequent customers. She was literally ray of sunshine at work, nothing but kind and sweet to others.
What reason has she got to be rude to other people for no reason anyway? She goes to work because she likes it and it put food on her plate a roof over her head.
And then there are these people who are worse than who they call Karens and Kevins among the employees, the rude and entitled ones who are inevitable to avoid. These girls clearly seem to know who she is, especially since YN's been to a premier with Harry. Even though she wasn't on red carpet with him, his fans still managed to get her pictures next to Glenn and Jeffery. Everyone knew what Harry's secret girlfriend looked like all of a sudden.
YN proceeded to tell them their total and girl in the yellow hoodie decided to pay, with cash.
The door bell chimed catching YN's attention, it was Harry she saw. He'd came over to pick her. He shot her petite wave as he went on to stand to a side whilst she gets done with her work. He greeted Emily who was making a latte at YN's usually spot of work, talking about the kittens. He wouldn't lie, he's been excited about it.
YN's had enough them the girl threw two bills on the counter, instead of handing it to her when she had her hand out. Causing the money to fall in two different directions. She picked it up quiet and reached for coins in the til.
"Would you like the bill?" YN asked but that just earned a scoff to her.
Kathleen shot her a no look because she, well, apparently everyone knows that she's pissed now. She tossed the coins on the counter the same way the girl did, causing the metal to bounce, and some rolled off the counter on the floor. Both the girls gasp. Harry saw all of that, clearly, he glanced at a shocked Emily who missed it whilst she was doing her work.
"Your order will be ready in five, Trice." YN said with am overly fake smile she even bothered to put on.
"You are so fucking rude!" Trice said, "fat, ugly bitch, what did you do that for?"
"Oi, watch it!" Kathleen butted it, clearly offended for her co-worker.
"Clearly, everything said about you on the internet is true. You don't deserve to be with Harry, you ungrateful who—"
"What is going on here?" Jennifer, YN's manager came over seeing the commotion before Harry was about to stand up for his girl. That was the most atrocious thing he'd seen. "Ma'am, I'm going to have to ask you kindly to step out of our shop." She continued, politely moving YN to a side, she fetched for the amount the girl had paid ever so kindly to refund.
"This is ridiculous. She was being mean to me, throwing the money like I'm a fucking begger by a mere server!" Trice exclaimed. "Are you the manager?" All the whilst her friend stood there with her jaw hung to the floor. Maybe she was surprised by her friend's behaviour, or she was thinking YN's in wrong here.
"Yes, I am and I'm not going to let you treat my employees this way. We are refusing to serve you today, and in the future." Jennifer said, firmly. "Please." She gestured the girls to the door.
Harry couldn't take it, especially when the other one saw him standing right there to be a witness to the scene. On the internet, it could be pretty much easy to avoid by simply not indulging into it, and his girl is has mastered doing that so far. But this is insane, coming in at her work place. He had let the incident on her flight to New York, he wasn't there and YN chose to not tell him the details. But this. This all all happened right in front of him. That person was about to call his girlfriend disrespectful names, that broke his peak of patience there.
The other one nudged her friend's side to make his presence known to him there. The girl, who's name is Trice he reckoned looked at him as if she just saw a ghost there.
"This is her place of work. Whatever you think her job is, doesn't give you the right the treat my girlfriend that way." He spoke to the girls, calmly, because he doesn't want to add to the commotion happening, "I want you to know that, I found it very rude of you. Hope you work on being on a better person!"
YN looked at him, surprised. Honestly she didn't know why she was surprised. She was shook, as that girl was about to call her the w-word. She had never heard anyone call her that, even through she's gotten into many arguments with rude customers like the girl. Not even on the internet people go this far to bully her for simply being her boyfriend's girlfriend.
YN didn't know how to take it and process it!
Harry was so grateful for YN's manager to stepping in. Or he would have lost it actually hearing someone calling his girlfriend so disrespectful. He just watched as those girl mumbled their apologies to him before leaving. He proceeded to pick up the change which had fallen on the floor and handed it back to Kathleen.
"You alright?" Jennifer asked YN, who was still trying to take in what just happened.
"Yeah, I, I am really sorry about that." YN mumbled.
"Don't be," Kathleen butted in who saw everything first hand happening to her, "that girl was a literal shit of a person. What you did was very fucking badass!"
"Mhmm!" Emily sounded.
There were not many people in the cafe that time but everyone who was watching had seemed to get back to their work. Harry approached closer to the til. "Do you want to go home now?"
"Yes, yeah, I'll be out." YN agreed, before heading to the back. "Gimme five minutes."
"Mhmm." He nodded.
On the way he stayed silent, it was awkward for the first time in between them. Especially that's what YN felt.
"I'm sorry about that." He spoke, once they're back in comfort of their home.
"Why so? It wasn't your fault Harry." She cooed. "Come here, sit down." Walking over to the living room she made him sit down on the sofa whilst she took a seat on the coffee table in front of him. "It's okay, I promise."
"It's not," he looked more hurt than her, "they bully you just because you choose to stick by my side. That's fuck up, baby and not okay!"
"I know, but we can't control everyone, can we?" She shrugged, "you say it to me that the best we can do it just ignore the hate. And honestly I now look at her like one of those bad customers, that's all."
"That's the thing, you shouldn't!" He stressed, "I'm going to put out an statement, this is ridiculous. She was clearly about to call you something so disrespectful, I don't even wanna say it! It's disgusting!"
"Don't do that, please, it's only going to add to the drama." She insisted, "it's gonna attract more hate and criticism, and I don't want that that for you, for us."
Well, she isn't entirely in wrong here. People wouldn't mind talking shit about him either, why was he at his girlfriend's work place? Where is the professionalism? Why would he say that to people who literally keep him employed? What was he thinking when he said that? Why did he said it like that? He cares too much, or he cares too little. The criticism was going to come in from left, right, front and back.
"Okay." He nodded.
"Yeah, we'll just deal with it when we absolutely have to. We don't owe anyone any explaination. I see rude customers every single day." She nudged her nose closer to his with her forehead on his.
"I just hated that do much!" with a sigh his voice sounded so watery. God he loves her so much, he would fight the world for her with his bare hands in that moment.
All the other times, it didn't hit him this hard. With her it was different for him. Of course it was, it is YN he's talking about here!
"I know, Haz. But it's okay." She pulled him in a tight embrace his head rested on her chest, "I promise!"
"It shouldn't be okay!" He sighed, pulling away. "It shouldn't be. Don't tell me to keep low when they cause a big stir on the internet and it reaches media, I'm not going to sit here and let everyone talk more shit about you!"
"Okay, only if they make drama." She agreed.
"Okay." He nodded.
"We just came back, but do you want to go get some ice-cream?" She suggested.
"Hmm," he sighed remembering about this thing he had planned on, "I had plan to go to Italy."
"What is it with you and your impromptu vacations?" She chuckled. "Why Italy all of a sudden?"
"I don't know." He shrugged, "I'm bored now that I don't have anything to do. Thought I could take you to a museum there, on a date."
"Oh how rich are you!" She sighed dramatically, with dreamy eyes making him giggle.
"You still want to go? We have about two three hours." He suggested.
"You already booked a flight?" She was surprised.
"Yeah, come on, will help you pack." He grabbed her hand and walked her to their bedroom.
"Harry, it's gonna take time and you traffic this time is the worse." She stressed.
"We'll wait for another one if we miss it, now come on, we need to pack enough for the weekend." Harry went on to bring out a duffle bag.
"Can we postpone it to the next weekend? I am anxious we're going to miss the flight." She was froze to her spot watching him move back and forth from the closet picking out his own clothes too. She'd feel to bad if they miss the flight as it is going to be waste of money.
"I don't think so, it's okay," he assured her. "We don't have to waste no more time."
"I'm telling you we're going to miss the flight!"
"We're not!" He laughed. "We'll take this too." He picked out a random pretty dress from her side and folded it nicely before stuffing it into the bag.
"You're so annoying! Could have told me beforehand about this." She scolded him, now frantically picking out her stuff, "if we miss the flight it's gonna go to waste!"
"Baby, baby, baby I need you to calm down please!" giggling, he rushed towards his girlfriend who was carrying her stuff in her arms, a towel, her toiletries, her hoodies and under garments. "It's okay. I was going to tell you this the in the car but shit happened so I couldn't. It's okay if we miss the flight, we'll wait another hour for the next one. We're not going to postpone this trip, okay? Now chop-chop!"
"Where are we gonna stay? Hotels are very fucking expensive."
"I've got a house there we'll be staying at."
He's got a surprise for her there waiting there. With a pat pn her bum her urged her to hurry as he called for a cab to the airport. And they really missed the flight, YN was pissed to say the least. But Harry distracted her reading about the museum he was actually going to take her to whilst they waited there for the next flight.

Behind Closed Doors (Part 17)
Pairing: Cillian x Y/N
You choked on your water when you heard her name. "Fuck," you thought, panic seeping in. You were about to meet Cillian's sister—right now. Anxiety washed over you as your mind raced. What if she thought you were just a gold digger after her brother's money? Meeting Cillian's family had always been one of your biggest worries.
Orla stood at the door, waiting for Cillian to greet her, but he seemed to freeze in place.
"What's wrong, Cill?" she asked, noticing his odd reaction.
"Nothing, sorry. Hi, Orla. How are ya?" He quickly recovered, giving her a kiss on the cheek and closing the door behind her.
She carried a few boxes and bags as she made her way to the kitchen. "I'm just passing by to drop this off," she said, placing them on the counter nearest to the kitchen door. "And I bought this set of curtains for Mum and Da, but I don't know if they—" She suddenly noticed you sitting at the kitchen counter and paused, recognition dawning on her face. "Oh, hi," she greeted you with a warm smile as she walked over.
"Orla, this is Y/N. She’s on bed rest, so she's staying with me," Cillian explained, his tone firm, making it clear that you were important to him.
"Why? Are you okay?" Orla asked, concern lacing her voice as she leaned on the table. Her sweet demeanor and well-mannered approach immediately put you at ease. You could tell she was genuinely kind, much like Cillian.
"Yeah, I was hospitalized last week," you began, placing a hand on your belly. "I had some bleeding, but we're okay now. I just have to move as little as possible."
Orla’s eyes softened as she looked at you. "Oh, I’m so sorry. Glad you're well now. Bed rest’s the worst, especially when you get that insane need to nest in the third trimester. Those urges are no joke," she said, raising her hands for emphasis, making you laugh at her playful tone.
There was a brief, awkward silence as the three of you stood in the kitchen, unsure of what to say next.
“Well," Orla finally broke the silence, patting the boxes she had dropped off. "I was just passing by to leave these. Don’t forget to take them to Cork,” she said, gesturing to the boxes, before handing Cillian the curtains. “And here, what do you think of these? Do you think Mum and Da will like them?” she asked, her expression a little more serious now.
"They're okay, I suppose," Cillian replied with a shrug, clearly not too fussed about curtain shopping. Orla rolled her eyes at his lackluster response, amused by her brother’s indifference.
"Alright, I’m headed off," Orla said, reaching for her coat.
"We were just about to have dinner, if you want to join," Cillian offered, sensing that this could be a good opportunity for you to spend more time with her. "I'm making chicken curry."
"You know what, Cill?" Orla smiled as she settled beside you, pouring herself a glass of wine. "I could go for some of that chicken you make."
As she took a sip of her drink, she turned to you with a curious smile. “So, how far along are you?”
“Almost 22 weeks,” you replied, feeling a bit more comfortable now.
“Ah, halfway already! Do you know what you’re having?” she asked, excitement lighting up her face.
“A girl,” Cillian chimed in from the stove, turning to you both with a proud smile.
“Oh, they’re the best! I had my Nina last year, and it’s so different than having boys,” Orla said warmly.
“How’s baby Nina?” Cillian asked, his eyes softening at the mention of his niece, who was nearly 10 months old.
“She’s exhausting,” Orla sighed dramatically, making both you and Cillian laugh. “She just learned how to get off the bed, and now I can’t close my eyes for a second without her disappearing.”
The evening flowed pleasantly after that. Orla shared stories and showed you pictures of her baby, and you got a glimpse of just how close she and Cillian were. His gentle care for his sister warmed your heart, and the easy dynamic between them made you feel more at ease.
After dinner, fatigue began to weigh on you, and Cillian noticed immediately. He offered to prepare the guest room for you, knowing that it hadn’t been decorated or lived in yet. You thanked him as he left to make the bed, his attentiveness leaving you feeling cared for.
Once Cillian was out of earshot, Orla leaned in closer with a playful, curious smile. “So, how’s my brother been treating you?” she whispered, her tone filled with interest.
You smiled softly. “He’s been very attentive and has helped me so much. He’s a good guy,” you said, genuinely grateful for Cillian’s care.
Orla raised an eyebrow slightly. “And are you two not together then?” she asked, her eyes flicking to the separate room where you'd be sleeping. “I don’t want to be invasive, but Cillian mentioned the situation…”
“No, it’s okay,” you reassured her, appreciating her honesty. “To be honest, I don’t really know,” you added with a small laugh. “We’re taking it slow... just taking our time.”
Orla nodded, understanding. “That makes sense,” she said gently.
“I’m just staying here so he can take care of me if anything happens until my sister arrives. I don’t want to take up too much of his time,” you explained, feeling the need to be transparent.
Orla gave you a knowing look and smiled. “You don’t have to worry about that. Cillian wouldn’t offer if he didn’t want to be there for you. He’s always been a bit of a caretaker, especially for those he cares about.”
Orla’s smile softened as she leaned back slightly, swirling the wine in her glass. “You know,” she began thoughtfully, “even if you two don’t end up together, that baby girl of yours... she’s still part of this family.” Her eyes flickered warmly toward your belly. “And we’ll love her no matter what.”
You blinked, a wave of emotion rushing through you at her words. It was the first time someone from Cillian’s family had said anything about the baby, and hearing that acceptance brought a sense of relief.
“She’s going to be surrounded by love,” Orla continued, her tone filled with sincerity. “You, Cillian, and the rest of us. Family isn’t always about how things start, but about how you come together in the end. And believe me, we’re here for both of you, no matter what happens between you and my brother.”
Her reassurance eased a knot in your chest that you didn’t realize had been building. “Thank you,” you said quietly, feeling a surge of gratitude. “I’ve been so worried about what people would think... that maybe they’d see me as some sort of... I don’t know.”
Orla waved a hand dismissively. “People will always have something to say. But those who matter—the people in this family—we’ll always have your back. And that little girl... she’s going to have an army of people loving her.”
Hearing that made you feel more welcome than you had expected. “I really appreciate that,” you said, your voice soft but sincere. “It means a lot.”
Orla smiled again, this time with a glint of amusement in her eyes. “Plus, you’re stuck with me now—an honorary sister. We’ll spoil her rotten, you just wait.”
You felt a warmth spread through your chest at her words. All you wanted in the world was for your baby to be happy and grow up in a loving environment.
Just then, you heard Cillian’s footsteps coming down the hall. “What were you two talking about?” he asked, his brow raised slightly as he entered the kitchen.
“Oh, nothing much, just talking behind your back,” Orla teased, shooting her brother a playful grin. Cillian rolled his eyes, used to her antics.
“The bedroom’s all ready for you,” he told you softly. You nodded, feeling your eyelids growing heavier as the night wore on. "Thanks, Cill."
Orla stood up, gathering her things. “Well, I better head off. Gotta tuck the kids in.” She smiled, giving you a quick hug. “Don’t forget to rest, okay?”
“Of course,” you smiled back, sipping the last of your tea.
Orla turned to Cillian, reminding him once again about the package for Cork. “Don’t forget! You’re as forgetful as ever,” she teased.
“What’s that for?” you asked, glancing at the large box she’d mentioned earlier.
“Cutlery and plates for our parents’ anniversary in October,” she replied. “Their 50th. We’re planning it way ahead.”
“You should bring Y/N,” Orla repeated, looking between you and Cillian. “It’ll be the perfect chance for her to meet everyone at once.”
Cillian’s eyes widened, and he shot you a quick, slightly panicked glance. You could feel anxiety bubbling up in your chest, a knot tightening in your stomach. "Oh no, don't worry about me. I wouldn’t want to intrude,” you blurted out, your voice a bit shaky. Your palms were suddenly sweaty. What would his family even think? You were already pregnant and hadn't met them. What if they judged you? You weren't even sure where you stood with Cillian—how would you explain this to them?
Orla quickly picked up on the tension, her smile softening as she placed a reassuring hand on your arm. “Honestly, don’t stress about it,” she said warmly, sensing your worry. “There’s plenty of time to decide, no pressure. Just something to keep in mind.” She gave you a comforting smile before turning to Cillian, pulling him into a hug as she said her goodbyes.
Cillian moved to the sink to wash up as you quietly made your way to bed. While he scrubbed the dishes, your mind raced. *Would he really want you to meet his family?* You still felt insecure, unsure of your place in his life. Despite all his efforts to show he cared, you couldn’t shake the feeling that you didn’t belong, especially with the baby on the way. He already had a family, a whole life. Sometimes, you felt like an outsider. Or worse, like you were intruding on something that wasn’t meant to be yours.
Meanwhile, Cillian’s thoughts were completely different. As he washed up, the idea of you meeting his family filled him with joy. He could picture you with your baby, surrounded by nephews and cousins, fitting right into the warm, lively chaos that he loved so much. You’d bring a new light into his world, one that had dimmed over the years. You’d made him feel alive again. But he didn’t want to push you. He’d let the idea sit for now, give you time to decide.
Later, lying in bed, you rubbed belly butter over your growing bump, your mind drifting. The realization that your body would never be the same hit you hard. You wouldn’t say it out loud, but you were terrified. The stretch marks, the weight gain—it all scared you more than you let on.
Cillian, meanwhile, was fussing over the curtains, trying to make the room feel cozier. The space had been bare when you first arrived, just a bed and a mattress. He’d worked tirelessly to make sure you were comfortable, and now he was determined to block out the morning sun.
“Cill, it’s okay,” you laughed softly, watching him work. “I can do that tomorrow. You’ve got work in the morning.”
He shook his head stubbornly, finishing up with the curtains. “No, I don’t want you waking up with the sun in your face at 7 a.m.,” he replied, focused on getting it right.
You grinned, amused by his overprotectiveness. It was a little over the top, but sweet. You felt lucky that he was going to be the father of your child. Once he finished, he stood back, hands on his hips, looking at you with a smitten expression. Seeing you lying there, belly growing with his child, no makeup, just real and vulnerable—it melted his heart.
“All done,” he sighed, dusting off his hands.
“Thanks,” you said, your voice softer now. “Do you have to leave early for work?”
“Yeah, but I should be back by lunchtime,” he replied.
“Well, I’ll let you sleep then,” he said, turning to leave, but something made you stop him.
“Cill?” you called softly. He turned back to you, walking closer.
“Yeah?” he asked gently.
“Thank you,” you said, reaching for his hand, your voice filled with sincerity. “For letting me stay here, for being so good to me. And Orla, too. I was really scared to meet her, but she was so nice. I’m really grateful.”
He smiled, leaning down to press a kiss to your temple. “You don’t have to thank me for any of that,” he murmured. “Goodnight.”
Your heart fluttered at the softness of his touch, and almost as if in response, the baby kicked. She always seemed to know when you were nervous around him. “Goodnight,” you whispered, rolling over and closing your eyes. The sound of Cillian moving around the house was oddly soothing, and before long, you drifted into sleep.
Cillian went to his room and changed into his pajamas, but after tossing and turning for almost an hour, he gave up on trying to sleep. He padded softly into the living room, careful not to wake you. Opening your door just a crack, he peeked in. You were fast asleep, soft snores escaping your lips, and he couldn’t help but smile.
He closed the door gently, grabbed a glass of water from the kitchen, and settled on the couch. Turning the TV on with the volume barely audible, he let the low hum of some sitcom wash over him, hoping it would help him fall asleep.

chapter sixteen — an old and hungry yearning
➝ cassie has a problem and only one person can fix it
➝ word count: 5,5k
➝ warnings: cursing, smut
➝ author’s note: okay, this is my favorite chapter ever. enjoy!
19 WEEKS The baby is working on their five senses. He has already learned to suck and now adds swallowing to their bag of tricks. And of course, baby is very busy moving around!
— And we have to organize accreditations for the second part of the season, so we don't have any problems, especially in Malaysia. We don’t want a repeat of last time when we didn’t have enough paddock passes for all of the Petronas executives that decided to come to the motorhome… Cassie, are you paying attention?
Cassie blinked, turning her attention back to Victoria, who was leaning against the edge of Cassie’s desk. Cassie tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and tried to hide her blush.
— Yeah, of course — she replied.
Victoria raised an eyebrow.
— Are you sure?
— Yes, why? You were talking about Malaysia.
— You seem a little distant today. Are you okay?
— I’m just a little tired, it’s not a big deal — Cassie lied, giving a small smile.
If only it was simple fatigue that Cassie was feeling, which could be resolved by getting up and walking around or splashing some cold water on her face, but what she was actually feeling was much more complicated to resolve, especially considering the status of her current relationship.
She was horny. Very horny.
It started a few days ago, and she was wondering whether or not it would happen to her or not. All of the pregnancy websites and books she’d read warned of the possibility of increased libido in the second trimester. It had finally come to pass for Cassie. It was subtle at first, like an inconvenient itch, but easy to ignore. However, that particular afternoon, it was nearly unbearable, to the point where she couldn't focus on anything other than the way her heart seemed to be pounding, sending all of her blood to the sensitive areas of her body.
— Good afternoon, ladies — a familiar voice said. Cassie turned her head to see Toto striding into the marketing area with a wide smile on his face. It was enough to send a jolt of arousal straight between her legs, giving her a full-body shiver — How are you?
— We’re doing alright, Toto. Just discussing VIP accreditations for the Asian races. Cassie said she’s a little tired today.
Toto smiled when he saw Cassie nod in agreement with her boss.
— Growing an entire human being is not easy. Cassie has every right to feel tired — Toto said with a mischievous gleam in his eyes — In fact, I'd like to talk to her. Can I borrow her for a few minutes?
— She's all yours — Victoria said, a pleasant smile on her face. Cassie stood up easily still, but she was sure those days would be coming to an end, given the way her belly seemed to be growing larger by the day.
He walked her slowly through the cubicles toward the hallway, where they would be away from the eyes of her colleagues, who always seemed curious about how close Cassie and Toto were. When they stopped at the entrance to the marketing office, she noticed him looking at her with a small smile on his face.
— Is there a problem?
— No, Cassie — Toto replied, caressing her belly with his fingers, his thumb grazing the white fabric of her shirt. — I just wanted to see how you are today. Well, you and Ingrid.
She should be used to that Toto touching her like that by that point, after all, she was carrying his daughter. However, even the lightest of touches from Toto sent a wave of heat down her legs. “Focus”, Cassie thought, smiling at the man in front of her.
— I'm a little tired, but your daughter is doing just fine.
The answer made him frown.
— If you’re tired, do you want to cancel dinner tonight? I don’t mind, and I don’t want you wearing yourself out cooking for us.
— No, no, we should still have dinner — she replied quickly — I wasn’t planning on cooking anyway. I wanted to order pizza… I’ve been craving the ham and pineapple pizza from Bella Italia.
He raised an eyebrow.
— Have you ever eaten that pizza?
— The Tropicale? Yes, twice this week. Your daughter's fault.
Toto laughed.
— I thought you hated pineapple on your pizza.
— You see that your daughter continues to surprise us every day.
He moved closer, his face inches from hers. With her eyes traveling between Toto's dark eyes and lips, Cassie was studying how wrong it would be if she kissed him there, in that hallway.
— Our daughter, Cassandra. Ingrid is as much yours as mine.
— Our daughter — she repeated, something warm spreading through her body.
A few seconds later, Toto took a step back and took the hand that was resting on her stomach into his pocket.
— Well, I'll be at your flat at seven, okay?
— Perfect.
He took one last look at her stomach with a smile. Such a simple gesture sent an electric shock through Cassie's body, her skin burning as if she had a fever.
— See you later, Cassandra — the team principal said, before walking past her and heading down the hallway.
— See you later — Cassie murmured, staring at the muscles of his upper back moving under his Oxford shirt. “If I haven't gone crazy by then”, she thought to herself, as she slowly walked back to her cubicle, where Victoria was waiting to continue talking about the accreditations for the race in Malaysia.
When Cassie got back to her flat, she looked around and let out a heavy sigh. It even looked like a hurricane had passed through there, scattering cups, plates, paper, books and magazines everywhere, as well as some toys that she had already insisted on buying for Ingrid.
She dropped her bag on the credenza just inside of her front door and started trying to organize her flat. The clutter made it even harder to think straight, on top of the brain fog and the other distractions. She rounded up a stack of books, papers, and magazines, setting them in the basket next to her sofa she used for reading material. After that, she collected the few dirty dishes she hadn’t remembered to put in the kitchen, and set aside a few things she’d ordered online for the baby in the pile of things that would eventually go to Toto’s house.
Sitting down on the armrest of the sofa, she smiled a little when she realized that the place was more or less decent. “Now, let’s get to dinner”, Cassie thought, picking up her phone and opening Deliveroo to order their pizza.
She was finishing setting the table with the cutlery and glasses when the apartment doorbell rang. As she opened the door, she smiled widely.
— Delivery for Misses Aldersey and Wolff — Toto said, in a formal voice, holding up the two pizza boxes — That must be you?
— Yes, that's us — she laughed, taking the boxes from his hands and indicating with her head for him to enter the apartment — How did you...
— I met the delivery guy downstairs. I asked who the pizza was for and he said it was for Cassie, so I decided to take care of it myself. In fact, I already paid, so you don't need to worry about that.
She placed the boxes on the dining table and turned to him.
— Toto, I already told you not to pay for things for me.
— Cassie…
— It’s just pizza, it’s not an enormous expense.
He approached her, his expression turning serious.
— I know. But at the same time, I want to help you — Toto said, placing one of his hands on the side of her belly. The touch caused heat to rise to her cheeks — I told you at the beginning of this process that I would be by your side and support you through everything, no matter how small of a matter it is. We're in this together, remember?
She smiled.
— I do.
— Good — he said, moving his hand away from her belly, a strange feeling of emptiness taking over the spot where he was touching her — Shall we eat?
After settling in at the small dining table, Cassie opened the boxes, revealing the steaming pepperoni and pineapple ham pizza. The sight made her mouth water.
— Let me get it for you — Toto said, taking the pizza cutter and carefully breaking the dough. The concentration in his brown eyes, as well as the tip of his tongue appearing in the corner of his mouth as he tried to take the slice to her plate, made a memory hit her hard, like a wave crashing violently against the rocks.
It was the same expression that was on his face the night Ingrid was conceived, when he was straddling her body, his hips pounding against hers. The concentration with which he watched her writhing in pleasure had been marked in her memory, as well as the words he whispered to her, accompanied by the most delicate kisses she had ever received in her life.
“You are going to be the most beautiful mother in the world”.
“I can’t wait to see your belly grow”.
“I will give you a child, Cassie, I promise you”.
She brought her hand to her belly, in a quiet acknowledgement of him fulfilling his promise, between the sheets of her bed, as she moaned his name, begging not just for relief, but for him.
— Cassie?
She blinked, feeling heat rush through her body.
— Yeah? — she replied, a little lost.
— Do you want some chili flakes? — Toto asked, holding up the shaker.
— No, no. Thank you. I’ll already have heartburn later — Cassie replied, cutting herself a small piece of her pizza. The smoked fattiness of the ham combined with the slight sweetness and acidity of the pineapple and the slight heat of the pepper made her sigh.
— Apparently your pizza is good — Toto said with a smile.
— Excellent. Want some?
— No, thanks. I'd rather leave it to you two.
Cassie smiled, turning her attention back to her plate, trying to ignore the heat she was feeling. A few seconds of silence later, Toto suddenly dropped the cutlery.
— Ah, I need to show you something — he said, taking the phone out of his pants pocket — I received an email from that decorator I told you about, about the nursery. She asked me for some references of what we want and I put together these photos to send to her, but I wanted to know what you think.
Cassie took the phone from Toto and looked at the screen. He had pulled up images of nurseries that looked clean and modern, but still welcoming. In one of them, the crib was placed against a wall, and opposite it was a large, comfortable armchair, with a lamp next to it. In the other photo, there was a kind of bench with shelves underneath, where toys and books were placed.
— You scroll through to see more — Toto said, before taking a sip of water. Sliding her finger across the screen, Cassie analyzed the rest of the references that Toto had set aside for their daughter's room. A large closet, shelves, pictures on the walls.
— Very nice — she murmured, returning the phone.
— Of course, it's nothing definitive, there are some things I'd like to see with you if it makes sense, since, for the first few months, we're going to share this space and I want you to feel as comfortable as possible in it.
Cassie took another bite of pizza, watching Toto talk about his ideas for their daughter's room. She wasn't paying attention to any words he was saying, her eyes busy analyzing the way he gestured with his hands, his slender fingers moving in the air.
The memory of them touching her skin gently, removing her hand from the spot between her legs, and massaging her clit that night made Cassie press her legs together. In her chest, her heart was beating heavily, an overwhelming heat coursing across her skin.
In her mind, the scenes repeated themselves slowly, like a movie that Cassie had already watched several times but she couldn't get enough of, rewatching each scene to find details that she hadn't noticed before. She could remember the moment Toto finally entered her, his eyes fixed on hers as he eased himself inside her, his bottom lip between his teeth. His concern for her pleasure was seared into her memory.
She wanted more.
— Cassie? — he asked — Is everything okay?
Turning her attention to the table they were dining at, she smiled.
— Yes, yes, I was just… Thinking.
— May I know what you were thinking about?
“How good it felt to have sex with you”, Cassie replied mentally, taking a sip of water.
— What it will be like to bring Ingrid into her nursery for the first time.
Toto reached across the table, taking Cassie’s fingers in his.
— If I can say so, I'm really looking forward to that day. I'm sure she'll love every little thing we think of for her.
Looking into his eyes, Cassie seemed to see something beyond simple affection or appreciation. It was more tender, warm. “This has to be love”, she thought, pursing her lips and pulling her hand back.
But surely she was just imagining it.
— In fact, I scheduled a meeting with the decorator at my house, so she could take measurements and talk about ideas for the room. It will be on Saturday morning, around ten. Would you like to come? I’d love for you to be there.
— Oh, yeah, that would be great — she replied, cutting another piece of pizza — I have to make sure you don't paint the entire room pink or put unicorns on the walls.
Toto laughed.
— Something against the color pink and unicorns?
— We definitely don't need to be cliché at this point, Toto.
— But Ingrid will be our little girl, Cassie...
— Little girls don’t need a pink nursery.
He stared at her for a few seconds.
— What is your favorite color?
— Aqua. And yours?
— Orange.
Cassie raised an eyebrow.
— I thought it was baby blue.
— I also like blue, but orange has an inexplicable power. It is more mysterious than red and more revealing than yellow. Orange is comforting and cozy, especially those darker, coppery tones — he explained, his eyes fixed on her. It even seemed like there was something hidden between the lines of his words, but Cassie couldn't understand what, but it was exciting to imagine.
In fact, everything Toto did excited her. His mere presence, in front of her, with the sleeves of his baby blue dress shirt pulled up to his elbows and the top two buttons undone, excited her. She keenly felt the effect he had on her physically, in the way her muscles were tense, her mouth dry and her pulse pounding in her ears.
He was driving her crazy.
— Would you like orange in her room? — Cassie asked softly.
— We can talk about that on Saturday with the decorator — he replied, looking at her plate — Would you like more pizza?
She looked down and then at him.
— No, no. I'm full.
— Are you sure? — Toto questioned, an expression of concern on his face — You didn’t eat much.
— I'm fine, Toto, really — she replied.
— You don’t look like it. You look flushed…
Cassie put her hands on her cheeks and immediately noticed how hot they felt. “Fuck”, she thought, noticing how the blouse she was wearing was sticking to her skin due to sweat.
— I'm just warm, it’s been happening a lot lately. Hormones, you know — she said, forcing a smile — Would you mind if I took a quick shower?
— No, of course not. I’ll get things in here cleaned up, okay?
— Okay — Cassie said, getting up and walking to the bathroom, focusing on her own breathing and not on the way her body pulsed. After she entered the cubicle and closed the door, she let out a sigh. Ripping off her clothes, she tied up her hair haphazardly and got into the shower, turning on the cold water tap.
Holding back a scream, Cassie allowed, with her jaw clenched, the cold spray to wet her skin. The contrast between the temperature of the water and her body made her more alert, the heat slowly dissipating. However, as soon as she started washing herself, her mind was invaded again by lewd images, all starring the same man.
Cassie could imagine Toto following her into the shower, standing behind her and placing kisses on the curve of her neck. As he whispered in her ear, he would take the soap from her hand and slowly slide it across her skin, lathering every part of her body, paying special attention to her swollen breasts and belly.
— My angel — Cassie could hear Toto saying.
His hands would go down to the point between her legs, where he would find her completely wet. With his middle finger drawing tortuous circles against her clit, he would slowly bring her to orgasm, kissing and biting her shoulder. The imagination was a powerful thing; she could practically feel his hands on her, as if he was actually there.
Bringing her wet hands to her face, Cassie tried to come back to reality, finding herself in a worse state than she had been in before stepping into the shower. She was almost melting under the cold water, her body begging for attention, and strangely, for relief.
She knew there was only one way to get it.
Turning off the shower, Cassie dried off quickly and wrapped herself haphazardly in a gray bath towel. After letting her hair down and running her fingers through it quickly, she took one last breath. Then, she opened the bathroom door and walked into the living room, still barefoot. Toto was sitting on the sofa, looking at something on his cell phone when he looked up at her.
They stared at each other in silence for a few seconds.
— Is there a problem, Cassie? — he asked.
— Yes.
— What happened?
— I need you.
He blinked.
— What?
Cassie let go of where she was holding her towel closed, letting it fall into a pile around her feet.
Toto's eyes went wide as they roamed Cassie's entire body, taking in the changes since the last time he had seen her like this. In addition to her belly, her breasts were much larger, crowned by nipples darkened by hormones.
Usually, she felt a little embarrassed about the changes her body had gone through, but at that moment, in front of Toto, Cassie felt beautiful.
— Remember you said you would be by my side? — Cassie asked softly — That you said you would help me with anything I needed?
— Cassandra — Toto murmured, his voice almost scolding, as he stood up from the sofa, his eyes fixed on her.
— You said you would help me — she repeated, as he stood in front of her, a hesitant hand going up to her cheek — I need your help, Toto.
His fingers brushed a strand of hair away from Cassie's face, his eyes fixed on hers.
— With what?
— I'm horny.
— Horny…
— Yeah — she said, bringing her body closer to his, her nipples almost brushing against the fabric of his shirt — Very horny.
— Cassie — Toto murmured, as she took his hand and pressed it to her face.
— I haven't stopped thinking about you today. In the office, here — she whispered, feeling the musk of his cologne fill her nose — Especially here. All I could think about was how handsome you are. With that shirt then… Beautiful.
He let out a sigh, his fingers squeezing her skin.
— I was practically melting in my chair when we were talking during dinner. All I could think about was how much I want to feel you inside me again. I even went to take a cold shower to help calm myself down, but my imagination betrayed me — Cassie said, pressing her cheek against his palm — All I could think about was you using your fingers on me, making me come on them…
— Fuck — Toto whispered.
— I need you, Toto. Please — she said, looking up at him trying to make it clear enough what her sole desire at that moment was for him giving himself to her the same way he had months before.
— Are you sure, Cassandra? — he asked softly.
— Yes, Toto. Please. Help me.
After a few seconds of staring at her, Toto tilted Cassie's head gently, bringing his own lips to hers in a delicate, almost careful kiss. A few seconds later, it was up to her to wrap her arms around his neck and ask for passage to explore his mouth the way she wanted.
Feeling his hands slide over her skin for real, Cassie felt like she was combusting. Pressing her own body against his, she tried to lead him back onto the sofa, where they could continue more comfortably and without the obstacle of the height difference between them. However, Toto didn't move.
— What are you doing? — he asked, panting.
— Trying to push you back onto the couch…
— Why?
— How else are we going to have sex?
A giggle escaped his lips, his nose brushing hers.
— Cassie, we’re not going to have sex on your couch.
Cassie's eyes widened, her breath catching in her throat. He wasn't going to do this to her, he couldn't do that to her, not when she felt like she might melt into the ground or just burst into flames right then and there.
— Toto — she stammered, her eyes filling with tears. She felt like the frustration may be the end of her.
— I'm not going to have sex with you on a couch — he continued, bringing one of his hands to her face — Because my daughter's mother deserves better.
— You mean…
— Take me to your room, my angel.
With her shock dissolving into a smile, Cassie pulled Toto towards her again, leading him through the house towards her bedroom as she fought against the damn buttons on his shirt, only managing to undo two of them when she felt the edge of the mattress against the back of her legs.
— Lay down — he whispered, his intense gaze putting even more strength into what seemed like a polite request, but Cassie obeyed it like it was an order. She would do anything for him.
Still standing in front of her, Toto ripped off his own shirt hastily, not bothering with any of the buttons before running a hand through his hair after discarding it on the floor. Staring at his firm muscles, Cassie couldn't resist the urge to lift her foot to touch him, as if she needed to reassure herself that he was real.
— Like what you see? — he asked softly.
— I do — she replied, as her big toe reached his chest — You look like a god.
Holding Cassie's ankle, Toto smiled.
— A god, huh? — he asked, and Cassie nodded — Which one? Zeus?
She smiled.
— No. Apollo.
Toto kissed the side of her foot affectionately.
— Why?
— Because he was the one who gave the Greek Cassandra her gift — she replied, placing a hand on her own belly — In the same way that you’ve given me a gift.
Releasing her foot, Toto carefully placed himself over Cassie.
— You are my gift, Cassie — he whispered, his nose touching hers gently, his eyes filled with a tenderness that made her heart skip a beat. Placing her hands on Toto's face, she kissed him again, without the previous need and urgency she felt.
That night, he was all hers. As it had been once, so it was again.
Cassie didn't even notice when Toto grabbed a pillow, she only obliged when he asked her to raise her hips. He did his best to make her as comfortable as possible before he began trailing kisses down her neck, down towards her breasts. The pregnancy hormones had not only made them larger, but far more sensitive, which Toto noticed immediately, when Cassie moaned the second he touched his tongue to her nipple.
— Sensitive, my angel? — he asked, looking up at Cassie. She nodded fervently — Okay. I'll be gentle.
The delicacy with which he grazed his teeth and licked her areolas was capable of taking her to ecstasy in itself. There was no rush nor discomfort with the way he lavished attention on her body, one kiss at a time.
It wasn't long before Cassie began to feel the excitement becoming uncomfortable. She needed more, much more than just kisses and nibbles. She needed him. Shifting under Toto's body, it didn't take long for him to raise his face towards her.
— What’s wrong?
— I want to come — she whispered.
Toto smiled.
— And how do you want to come?
— It doesn’t matter — Cassie replied, feeling his hands slide towards her hips — I tried on my own but I couldn't...
— What did you use?
— My hand. And a toy.
— Neither of them worked?
She nodded, and Toto smiled mischievously at her.
— Do you want me to try?
— Please — Cassie whispered.
Without saying a word, Toto repositioned himself over her, spreading her legs wider to have better access to the spot between them. The touches started shy and soft, with kisses and nibbles on Cassie's inner thighs, while his eyes searched hers over the curve of her belly.
However, she couldn't keep them open as Toto began to maneuver his tongue carefully over her labia, his saliva mixing and spreading her natural lubrication. Bringing a hand up to his hair, a sharp moan escaped her lips as she felt him suck on her clit for a few seconds before letting go.
— Who were you thinking about? — he asked, while his thumb drew circles on her most sensitive spot, making her eyes flutter.
— What?
— When you tried to come alone, were you thinking about someone?
— I — Cassie began, trying to form a coherent sentence. But, there was some coherence in that moment, with Toto speeding up the movement of his finger, his eyes staring at her wickedly, watching the way he had her in his hands, exactly like in her fantasies.
— Come on, tell me. Who were you thinking about?
— Toto — she whimpered, something warm rising up the back of her thighs toward her belly, a subtle warning that explosion and relief were just around the corner.
— Maybe that was the problem, my angel — he murmured — Maybe you needed to think about someone. But now, you don’t have to. You can just leave everything to me.
Cassie felt Toto's tongue against her clitoris again, sliding softly over and around it. The movement was provocative, as if this was just a little game for him. Maybe it was, since he seemed very happy at that moment, listening to her loud moans. However, for Cassie, it was like being a few steps away from heaven, her legs shaking after so much effort to get there.
As he settled into a delicious intensity and rhythm, Cassie’s release came like a speeding train.
Cassie felt like she had been shattered into a million pieces. With her spine arched, she felt her abdomen tense, while her legs closed around Toto's head. Unintelligible moans came from her lips, words that had been lost on the way to being said.
In fact, there was nothing to say at that moment. Nothing was enough or adequate enough. And in a way, silence was enough. Well, not raw silence, as Cassie's labored breathing echoed off the walls of the room as her eyes stared up at the ceiling.
— Are you okay? — she heard Toto whisper. Searching his eyes, Cassie nodded. That made him smile — Want more?
— Please — she murmured in response.
Placing a kiss on the side of her knee, Toto got up from the bed and busied himself with unzipping his pants and sliding them down his legs with his underwear, and his underwear down his legs, revealing his erect cock. He sat down next to Cassie, sitting up with his back against her headboard and motioned for her to move toward him. He gently supported her hands as she draped one of her legs over his hips to straddle him.
The sight of him under her body, staring at her with his pupils dilated with desire made Cassie bite her lower lip, a shiver running across her skin. She couldn't even remember the last time someone had looked at her like that, as if they were standing before an altar, worshiping her.
— Can I? — Toto murmured, his hand moving up the inside of her thigh. He teased at Cassie’s entrance with his thumb.
Cassie nodded, raised her hips, aligning her entrance with his cock. He helped her guide the tip in as she gasped a bit from the sensation of the initial stretch. It wasn’t painful, no, but Cassie wasn’t sure what to expect as sensitive as she was. She breathed deeply as she lowered herself slowly, relishing the feeling of him entering inch by inch, sighing with relief when she was fully seated. Closing her eyes, she allowed a moan to escape her lips, as Toto gasped and sighed beneath her, his hands gripping her hips tightly.
Having him inside her in that position was something new for Cassie. Toto seemed bigger, almost impossible to accommodate, but at the same time, he fit perfectly, like he was made to be there. It almost felt too good — the stretch, the pressure, the warmth of him, all of her senses primed and piqued for this. She had heard that pregnancy sex was wonderful, but she hadn’t expected it to feel this good.
Lowering her head towards his, Cassie kissed Toto intensely, her hips moving clumsily and experimentally, without any sort of rhythm. She was trying to figure out what felt the best, but all of it did. Toto moaned against her mouth, bringing his hands to her face, holding her firmly as she pulled away slightly for air.
— My angel — he whispered, his lips brushing against hers. His breath was ragged and shaky.
— Yes?
— You feel so good, but… I need more…
Setting her hands on his shoulders, Cassie sat up imperiously, as if she had been given a mission. She moved in a meaningful rhythm that escalated from slow, deep thrusts to a quicker pace as she felt like she was getting closer. She felt Toto's hands moving up her belly towards her breasts, massaging them delicately.
— This is… Cassie — he moaned beneath her, his eyelids fluttering with each movement, with each thrust of her hips — Don’t stop, fuck, don’t stop…
Without saying anything, she leaned in again, searching for Toto's lips as if they were the surface and she was looking for air to breathe. She had nothing to say, not when she felt like she was about to explode at any second.
— Yes, yes — she said breathlessly, as she slid her hips back and forth, rubbing her clit against his pubic bone, letting her nipples brush against the skin of his bare chest — Fuck, Toto, this…
She felt every muscle in her body start to go taut, and then, a split second later, the world seemed to stop.
The wave that ran through Cassie's body made her let out a broken moan, her muscles trembling and her head lolling back. Her vision went white as every nerve in her body flooded with pleasure. It felt sublime.
However, not even her ecstasy made her stop moving her hips. Much more than amplifying her own sensation of pleasure, Cassie wanted to bring Toto with her. She wanted to feel him release inside her, just like the night they had conceived Ingrid.
And then, he came, moaning loudly as his hands squeezed her ass tightly, while Cassie slowed the pace, feeling a new shiver run through her body as she felt the heat of his pleasure inside her. When she finally stopped, she rested her forehead against his, absorbing the moment in silence.
A few moments later, Toto signaled her to get up from his lap, helping her to lie down on the bed next to him, her head positioned against his chest, listening to his heart slowing down.
— Feeling better? — Toto whispered, running his fingers gently down Cassie’s spine.
— Yes, much. Thank you.
— Of course. Do you need anything?
Cassie shifted, looking up into his eyes.
— I think I need to go to the bathroom, but that’s hardly surprising.
Toto chuckled, shaking his head.
— I was just making sure that you’re satisfied, because if you want more, I’d be happy to help… — he said, placing a hand on her belly and stroking it softly.
The gesture, which at other times was something that brought her security, this time, brought sadness.
She was completely and madly in love with him, and she was sure that was not reciprocated. Sure, they were having a child together, and had just had what was arguably the best sex of Cassie’s life, but all of it was in service of both of their desires, simply filling needs, not because they loved each other. After all, what possible reason could Toto have for falling in love with her, anyway?
— No, I'm fine. We are fine. Thanks.

End of Term (NYC College AU)
Part 1 of 2
(Link to Part 2 will appear here when posted)
Summary: Fawn is a small-town girl from West Virginia trying to find her future in the Big Apple. She's left everything from her past behind her . . . or so she thinks. During her final exams, Fawn is completely unaware that she's been pregnant since before the semester began -- and her labor has started. As her discomfort grows more intense throughout the day, Fawn gets a little closer to discovering the cause of it. Hopefully, it doesn't take her too long to figure it out.
((This story features Newt, who belongs to @mittysins.))
TW: Cryptic pregnancy, graphic bodily descriptions, implications of past abuse, emotionally traumatic birth experience.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I still wasn't used to the subway trains. Sitting on one was like riding an elevator sideways during an earthquake. The g-force of every start and stop made my stomach lurch, and I still almost flew outta my seat every time. I could expect to be a little queasy by the time Newt and I reached our last stop -- and that was when I didn't wake up sick.
"Bleh. I blame YOU for this!" I text messaged Newt, despite the fact he was sitting a few seats over. He was sitting in our usual spot, but that morning I needed to sit in the back corner, where I could curl up and rest against the wall.
I saw Newt check his phone from the corner of my eye, and seconds later I got his reply: "How is indigestion MY fault?"
"I didn't even want takeout until YOU asked for it." I was sure to put a goofy emoji at the end of the message to show I was being sarcastic.
"Sorry. Cravings." Newt replied. A second later he sent a gif of a cartoon cat shrugging.
I leaned over and met his eyes with a deliberately exaggerated frown. There were several strangers sitting between us, and I probably looked crazy -- but what else was new in this city? I hit 'send', and watched Newt check his phone. I delighted in his held back snicker when he saw the giant picture of a middle finger on his screen.
That morning marked the start of our first finals week as freshman at Queens College. Newt and I had stayed up as late as possible, doing some last-minute study cramming at my apartment. Now that Newt was entering his second trimester, he was trading in his morning sickness for late-night cravings of Chinese food -- specifically steamed dumplings with fried rice (but it had to be plain rice, he'd cried when I'd accidentally ordered the pork rice).
"You're a bad influence on me, lol. I need to stop joining in on your craving binges." I hugged my backpack tighter to my stomach as my guts cramped again.
"I'm not the one who ordered two boxes of sesame chicken and three extra egg rolls." Newt retorted. A second later: "Not to mention the lo mein."
"The lo mein was supposed to be for lunch today! >:("
"Ye right. ;)"
Fine, yeah, I'd overdone it last night. I could barely contain myself around food anymore. Ever since I'd arrived in New York City that past summer, I'd been overeating. I guess I was eating my emotions. The stress had been piling up all fuckin' semester!
Moving from the suburbs of West Virginia to such a huge city had my nerves fried by the time I settled into my teeny-tiny apartment that was more expensive than a house back home. Stacked on that was the anxiety of starting school. Stacked on that was the fact my roommate, Makayla, refused to do her share of chores. Stacked on that was homesickness. Stacked on that was studying enough to not lose my scholarship. Then stacked on all of that, my one and only friend in this city was dealing with an unplanned pregnancy.
If my next-door neighbor hadn't been Newt, I'd still be floundering. Without a doubt. We clicked at first sight, as if we'd known each other in a past life. He was my lifeline. Newt had lived in Manhattan all his life, but Queens College was the only local school within his budget and that's how we'd ended up in the same off-campus student housing. He was the one that taught me street-smarts -- which roads to avoid at night, where the best Mom-and-Pop restaurants were, how to hail a cab, and how to read the hieroglyphics that were the subway maps. Although we'd only been friends for barely a month when he knocked on my door with a positive pregnancy test and tears in his eyes, I'd never thought twice about being his shoulder to cry on and his hand to hold.
I didn't care if worrying over him added to the stress of my new life here, it was a worry I gladly carried.
But it seemed all that stress was finally catching up to me.
As the train came to another screaming halt, I was twisting myself into a pretzel. My stomach was cramping again, straining hard to move along the mountain of food I'd eaten twelve hours earlier. The doors slid open, and several passengers I recognized as fellow students stood up. Newt joined them, slinging his bookbag over his shoulder and plucking the air pods out of his ears. I knew I needed to get up, but my legs needed a few extra seconds of convincing.
"You good?" Newt asked as he watched me lift myself off the seat in segments.
"I'm fine," I said, walking with him onto the platform. "I just hope that Pepto kicks in soon."
"How many exams you got today?"
"Three," I groaned, my head falling back on my shoulders. "Chemistry, biology, and that stupid-ass remedial algebra class."
"Ha! I've only got two," Newt gloated, pausing to zip up his oversized red jacket.
"Uh-huh, but don't you have to wait eight hours between them?"
"Gives me plenty of time to study," he said as we continued up the station stairs. The sonofabitch was talking like he hadn't been complaining all week about his morning class and evening class having the same exam day.
"Please," I smirked, rolling my eyes, "I know you're just gonna play The Sims 4 on your laptop."
We both shivered as we walked out of the muggy underground and into the biting cold winds coming off the harbor. I pulled my hood over my head and pulled the drawstrings tighter around my neck.
"You can't prove anything," Newt grinned, his breath coming out as a soft cloud.
I gave him a comedically unamused look. "You're pregnant, so I'm not gonna hit you."
Newt chuckled and placed his hand over the small, four-month bump that was hiding under his jacket. "Thanks for the save, kiddo."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The walk to campus was only two blocks, but it felt like I was forcing myself to trudge through mud. I regretted ordering so much food. Clearly, I hadn't learned my lesson, yet.
My overeating the last few months had me in a constant state of bloat. It always felt like a giant water balloon was sitting right on my guts. I was peeing every few minutes, my kidneys working overtime to get rid of the extra fluid I was holding. Gas bubbles were always rolling through me, too. They were mostly just annoying blips of movement but recently they'd gotten painful.
The worst were the large pockets of air that got trapped under my ribs. They would stay there for hours sometimes, making it excruciating to breathe. Nothing in the world could help me when I got like that; I just had to go about my day in agony and wait until the pressure spreading my ribs apart decided to move along.
By now, I was kinda used to functioning while my intestines were trying to kill me; but, God, they were trying extra hard that day.
My stomachache flared up right outside the library, the shortcut I took to get to chemistry class. I sat down on a bench, gripping the edge of the seat and trying not to double over. My sides ached, and a deep stabbing pain plunged deep inside my abdomen. The invisible knife twisted, and I realized I was holding my breath.
"Fawn?"
I looked up at Newt, who had doubled back to check on me. His first class was on the other side of campus, and the library was where our daily routes split for most of the day.
"I'll be fine," I said, waving him away. "I'll buy a soda at lunch. That usually helps."
Newt glanced over his shoulder, down the path he was supposed to take, and then stepped a little closer. "I won't be out of here until five. Don't wait up for me, okay? When you're done with exams, just go home."
"Yeah, I will," I nodded. "That sounds good."
Newt nodded back, looking a lot more at ease. "Is it okay if I come over with some soup later? I found a new recipe online and it looks really good!"
"That's fine," I said, stretching my arms over my head to loosen up my torso. "Just use your key. I'll see 'ya then, bud."
"See you then." He gave me a two-fingered salute and continued on his way.
I checked the time on my phone and sighed. I had to get moving again, or else I'd have half my final exam score deducted for being late. My chemistry professor was a real stickler for being on-time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'd moved to New York City to finally get my degree in Botany & Plant Science. It'd been my dream for a while to become a researcher and study the pharmaceutical use of plants. Having a pair of old hippies as parents will inspire that interest in 'ya. Queens College was the best scholarship I could get out-of-state, and I had to be out-of-state. I just had to be.
I already had trouble fitting in with my classmates as a "mature" undergrad student. Since when was twenty-nine considered too "mature" for college?! All of my subjects were basic introductory courses, and that meant I was surrounded by fresh-faced teenagers less than a year out of high school. Even Newt wasn't that young. He'd taken a few years off before college, but apparently twenty-four was still young enough to fit in with the crowd.
At least not having any classroom friends meant I was left alone that morning. I sat in my assigned seat and watched the rest of the students file in from the hallway. The desk allowed me to hunch down when my stomach clenched again, the muscles in my abs pinching hard. I crossed my legs and bounced my foot, trying to distract myself from the storm brewing inside me as the professor laid out the rules of the exam period.
I was in pain for that entire hour. It was hard to keep up with the time limit. I had to pause on several multiple-choice questions -- sometimes because they were challenging, other times because the stabbing, twisting pain was flaring up. I began fantasizing about how good I'd feel after I was able to get my hands on a soda, and that daydream carried me through.
Shockingly, I was one of the first students to stand up -- and I'd finished with barely eleven minutes to spare. My professor nodded at me as I placed my exam packet on his desk, and he quietly wished me a good winter break as I shuffled out the door.
Freedom at last! There were about two hours to kill before my biology exam, so I was sure with a light snack and some rest I'd be feeling better by then.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'd worked hard to build up enough of a nest egg to live off in New York. I'd squirreled money away for three years in a secret bank account, and lied to Alexander about how much my hourly pay was. My scholarship covered only part of my housing costs, and I knew living off savings couldn't last all four years of school. However, I was not going to stress over buying a three-dollar root beer when it felt like I was being wrung like a washcloth.
The dining hall at Queens was a glorified cafeteria: fold-out tables, plastic chairs, too much noise and not enough space. I really wasn't hungry, but I knew if I skipped out on lunch I would regret it later. So, I stopped by the Nathan's stand to grab a hotdog and bag of plain potato chips to go with my large cup of carbonated medicine.
I made do with sitting at the empty end of a crowded table, where the huddle of dudes at the other end were playing Magic: the Gathering. That stuff was more Newt's scene than mine, so I put my earbuds in and pulled up the YouTube app on my phone.
The Peanuts Christmas special played on my screen as I nibbled on chips and washed the salt away with long swigs of root beer. I was hoping to summon a little Christmas spirit to help me not feel so dead inside. It was two weeks away, and it was the little candy-red cherry atop my mountain of things to worry about. Between hesitant bites of hotdog, I wondered how I could pry some gift ideas out of Newt last-minute. I'd already gotten him an Amazon gift card, but I wanted to get him something a little more per-.
I sucked a sharp breath through my nostrils, choking on half-chewed bread as my stomach cramped again. It didn't feel the same as the hundreds of other cramps I'd been having. This one was bad. It was really. Fucking. Bad! I curled up in the seat, my hands dipping inside my hoodie pocket to press against my stomach. Even through three layers of clothing, I could feel my muscles clenching.
And it just wouldn't stop. Most of them would fade after a few seconds, but this one just kept going. I doubled over, pressing on my belly and praying the pain would stop.
And then it stopped.
I sat up straight and looked around. No one nearby was paying any attention, but my freckles turned pink anyway as I quickly rose and tossed what was left of my food in the trash. I chugged the rest of the soda.
There were still two exams to go, but I was already checked out for the day. I knew there was a bottle of cupcake vodka leftover from Makayla's birthday party last month. Mixed in a milkshake, that stuff had been sweet enough to give me both a sugar high and a buzz. Maybe if the soda didn't do the trick I'd go home and try soothing my stomach with one of those. I deserved one already, and it wasn't even noon.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It hurt to be upright.
My biology exam was half lab work and half a written test. The class was split into two groups: one to do the lab first, and one to do the written exam first. Guess which one I was in.
I was white-knuckling that clipboard as I quietly shuffled from one specimen sample to the next. Identify this bone. Identify that leaf. Is this a rock or a fossil? I was rocking my weight from side-to-side as subtly as I could. The cramping hadn't eased up since lunch. I was feeling this one down to the soles of my feet and keeping 'em moving was the only way I could stay standing.
At the apex of the cramp, I grit my teeth as a new pain bloomed deep inside my hips. I leaned my weight over the table, disguising the motion as trying to get a better look at a specimen. A knife-like stab hit my cervix and the ache radiated between my legs.
Ah, okay. I knew that kind of pain, even if it'd been a while.
No wonder the indigestion was so bad. I always got an upset stomach the day my period was due to start. 'Course, I could never tell when I was due. I tried tracking them, but ever since puberty they'd been on a schedule of their own. My cycles had been mild spotting for most of that year, so I figured there was a mighty buildup of Mother Nature in there that was trying to come out. No wonder I was already cramping so hard.
Oh, boy . . . and from my experience, I could tell I was in for a world of hurt once I actually started bleedin'.
I made it through the written half of the exam free of carnage. The pain was somehow easier to deal with when I knew it was all just hormones. At the water fountain down the hall, I popped a few ibuprofen out of my purse and downed them. There, now I knew I'd be feeling better once those puppies kicked in.
Another two hours, and I'd be free to go home.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was relaxing on a sofa in the library when I suddenly felt a pouring wetness in the crotch of my pants. Ah, fuck. Fuck!
I left my backpack behind in a panic and speed-walked to the nearest restroom. I subtly pulled my hoodie as far over my hips as possible, hoping to hide anything that leaked through my sweatpants as I shuffled past other quietly studying students. I cussed myself out in my head for not thinking to put on a pad as soon as I started cramping.
Once I was hidden away in a stall, I inspected the damage. My underwear was damp with a watery pink discharge as well as several dark red clots. Yes, some of it had seeped through my pants, but not enough to be noticeable. I could still feel it dripping down into the toilet as I tried to clean everything up.
All it took was that first drop of blood for the cramps to reach their full strength. That was always the case when I missed a few periods. I pressed my lips together to stop a groan from escaping as I doubled over and hugged my midsection. My entire torso throbbed and clenched inward. My toes curled inside my sneakers as the pain once again trickled down to the soles of my feet. My jaw locked up as I grit my teeth against the pain, and I felt a charlie horse starting in the back of my neck.
Everything. Fucking. HURT.
The cramp left me feeling slightly weak. It didn't just disappear, it just . . . settled back into my muscles as a soft, constant ache. I held a wad of toilet paper between my legs for a few seconds, and in that short amount of time it was soaked in pastel pink. The floodgates had opened, and it wasn't going to stop. This pink discharge was no doubt going to become a full red tide by the time I got home.
I returned to the couch wearing a cheap cotton pad from the restroom vending machine. Although it wasn't smart, I swallowed two more ibuprofen dry. I sat curled up in the corner of the sofa, killing the last forty minutes before my exam watching videos on my phone.
The cramps just kept coming. I kept feeling blood gushing out of me and into the pad. My labia were constantly throbbing, and not in the good way. Every time I cramped, it felt like I was being turned inside out.
I seriously considered blowing off my algebra exam. I would fail the class, but I could just re-take it next semester, right? Maybe I could re-schedule the final if I brought in a doctor's note? Well, fuck . . . no, I couldn't do that. My health insurance wouldn't fully cover an emergency room visit and I doubted a doctor's note from three days after the final would be able to save my sorry ass.
Besides, I hated remedial algebra so much I felt nauseous at the thought of doing it again. I was just gonna have to suck it up and get through it like everyone else. Then, I wouldn't have to think about anything else until tomorrow.
God, why me?! Why today of all days to start the worst period in the history of mankind?!
I wondered if there was some cosmic deity out there who was taking joy in my suffering. If so, at least this pain was good for something in the grand scheme of things.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Despite the biting December air, I felt sweat dripping down my back as I trudged across campus to attend my last exam. It hurt to walk. It hurt to stand. Hell, it just hurt to exist. I made myself keep a steady pace, although my body was demanding I stop with every cramp. When that telltale stabbing would start in my lower back, all I wanted to do was lay on the floor and cry; but I was a grown-up, and I had grown -up stuff to do.
When I sat at my desk, my hips jolted up as if the hard plastic seat had burned me. I let out an involuntary gasp of pain, and my face burned in embarrassment as everyone turned to look at me. I started a chesty cough to disguise the sound.
I hadn't noticed it when sitting on the plush couch, but my labia were ungodly swollen and sore. This was not something that usually happened during my period. I knew my hormones were way out of whack this time around, so . . . maybe it was some weird hormonal reaction?
Whatever it was, it wasn't making the exam any easier.
My whole weight was sitting square on my pelvis in that uncomfortable classroom desk, and it was torture. I tried sitting as far back as I could to take the pressure off, but that just made my tailbone hurt, too.
My pencil slipped in my wet palm as I desperately tried to fill the bubbles in on my scantron sheet. I wriggled my hips, trying in vain to find a way to sit that didn't hurt like hell. Sweat began to drip from under my sports bra beneath my layers of clothing. It was taking everything in my power not to beg my professor to let me take the exam while lying on the floor. Fuck, I'd even do it standing on my head -- anything to get the pressure off my poor vagina.
Ten minutes in I decided to leave my final grade up to fate. I was in so much pain, I no longer cared if I failed the class. I chose my answers based on educated guesses, skipping the solving process entirely.
I was staggering to my feet within twenty minutes, and my professor gave me a scowl when he saw my worksheet hardly had any equations written on it. He leaned in as I placed my scantron on his desk.
"I hope you know you've wasted your time," he whispered, glowering at me from under his bi-focals. "You may as well have not showed up."
The only answer I could offer was a nod. I hurried into the hallway, tears blurring my vision.
I knew I'd wasted my time. I knew I'd fucked myself over. The further I walked down the hall, the more I regretted not trying harder.
I threw the test after ten fuckin' minutes, just so I could go home and be lazy. I wasn't sick, I was just on my period! What sorry excuse was that for wasting tuition money? There were probably dozens of other students in the same amount of pain I was in, but they weren't throwing away their grades over it. God, I was pathetic. I was so determined to pass this stupid remedial class at the start of the semester, even if it was with a 'C', but in ten minutes I'd given up.
Maybe Alex was right. Maybe I was just too damn stupid to be here.
By the time I stepped outside, I was crying. I pulled up my hood to hide the tears and kept my head down as I began the long walk off campus.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The noon train wasn't as packed as the seven o'clock train, but it was still too full for my liking. That was what I hated about the city; you couldn't go anywhere without brushing shoulders with a stranger.
There were available seats, but I couldn't sit down. My lower lips were throbbing with my heartbeat. I had my arm wrapped around a standing bar, clinging for dear life against the g-forces of the train. My stance had to be wider than natural, or else my thighs would pinch and cause a hot, pulsating pain through my stomach. I knew I probably looked like a drunk trying to hold themselves up against gravity, but I reminded myself that New Yorkers see things like that on the trains all the time. No one would say anything as long as I kept to myself. My hood was still up to hide the leaks in my eyes, the flow of tears I couldn't fully control.
I clung tighter to the bar as I cramped again, and a warm gush soaked into the pad between my legs. My eyes dripped as they stared off into nothing, my mind going blank from the pain. A sudden "buzz-buzz" from the phone in my pocket brought me back from the void. I blinked my vision clear and checked the text message. It was from Newt, replying to a text I'd sent earlier:
"Sorry ur feeling so shit :( You going home?"
I rested my temple against the smudged chrome pole and typed my reply:
"On the train now."
Three grey dots appeared below my message.
Buzz-buzz.
"Still want me to come over??"
I replied: "Yeah. Makayla's with her boyfriend for the week and I need distraction."
Grey dots. Buzz-buzz.
"Awww poor bb. A whole apartment all to yourself. Glad I'm not THAT unlucky. /s "
I grinned and dried half my face on my shoulder. Newt had never fit in with his roommate's group of frat boy sports fans. Just like I had never gelled with Makayla's crowd of hardcore party girls. They weren't "bad" people, they were just . . . not "our" people.
"We need new roommates," I typed.
Dots. Buzz-buzz.
"Ye."
I felt another huge gush, and my thighs pressed together in response. My inner cheek bled as my teeth chopped through it. Fuck. Forgot to not do that.
That cheap pad didn't feel like it was gonna hold up much longer. The last thing I needed was to reenact the elevator scene from The Shining in front of two dozen strangers on the subway. I pulled my hoodie further over my hips, just in case.
"Fair warning," I typed, "my apartment might be a bloodbath by the time you get there."
Dots. Buzz-buzz.
"BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!"
"Omfg."

"Ohhh my fucking god."
I angled my lower back into the stream of hot water, pressing my hands into the glass wall of the shower. I hung my head as my body gradually clamped down on itself like a vice, tighter . . . tighter . . . tighter. Now that I was safely inside the privacy of my apartment, I could finally deal with the pain how I wanted: whining like a 'lil bitch.
"Ohhh my fucking god," I repeated, the sentence crawling out of my mouth as a slurred moan.
The water splashed pink at my feet. A few dime-sized globs of red fell onto the shower mat and were washed away. My pad had been soaked through with that thin pink discharge, but hardly any real blood. My body must've been trying to break my uterus open like a piggy bank to get out what it needed, because I felt like I was dying.
"God," I dragged the word out for a solid minute in a deep, angry groan as I sank to my knees. I ran out of breath, but the pain kept going. I wrapped my arms around my stomach and pitched forward, eyelids pinched shut and teeth open in a gaping snarl. The muscles in my torso vibrated with tension. It was hard to breathe, my ribs too tight to get a full breath. The air I managed to suck in came back out as another drawn-out groan: "Fuck."
I'd been trying for hours to ease the cramping and indigestion that were teaming up to kill me. I'd taken enough ibuprofen to drop a horse. I'd taken Pepto-Bismol like shots of tequila. Heating pads had helped, but not for long. I'd put an ice pack between my legs to bring down the swelling, but the ice stung. I'd turned the temperature as high as I could tolerate and was now face-down on the shower floor, letting the water hit anywhere it could reach. My skin was scalded red, but the iota of relief I got was worth it.
Knock, knock, knock. Three solid knocks on the bathroom door.
I knelt there with my cheek in a puddle of water, too engulfed in pain to react.
"Soup delivery!" A cheery tenor voice on the other side, somewhat drowned by the water rolling over my ears.
Newt? What was he doing here? He didn't leave school until five. Shit, what time was it? How long had I been home?
I lifted myself onto my elbows, blowing out a long breath as I waited for the pain to fade. As soon as it did, I called loud enough for Newt to hear me over the roar of the shower:
"I'll be out in a sec. Just put everything in the kitchen."
"M'kay."
I didn't hear Newt walk away, but I heard his heavy crockpot being set on the counter -- the kitchen shared a wall with the bathroom. God, that apartment was tiny.
Ugh. I had to get up. I'd been in there too long. The water was turning cold. My hands and feet were pruney. I had to get up. I had to get up.
I climbed up the slick glass wall, leaving smeared handprints in the condensation. The higher I stood on my feet, the worse I felt; but if you'd asked me to describe how, I wouldn't have known what to say. I steadied myself, turned the water off, and opened the shower door.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There was a fresh bowl waiting for me on the counter as I stepped into the kitchen, but I didn't have an appetite.
"Don't like it?" Newt asked, serving himself a helping of soup from the crockpot.
My hair was hanging limp around my face and shoulders, dripping water like the branches of a weeping willow; but the droplets rolling down my neck weren't water. A sticky layer of sweat was coating my back and my legs beneath my plush winter pajamas. The bowl of homemade French onion soup sat untouched and steaming in front of me.
"No, it looks good," I said. "I just don't really feel like eat--ugh!" Another cramp started and this time I didn't hold back a moan of pain. "Augh!"
Newt set his bowl on the stove and took a few soft-footed steps towards me. "Does your period usually hurt like this?" he asked, rubbing his hand over my back.
I shook my head and braced my hands against the counter, unable to answer him with words. I tried to speak, but my mouth would only allow a series of small moans and gasps as the pain went on and on and on and -- fuck, this wasn't right! It had been almost a year since my last full bleed, but there was no way in hell this level of pain was normal!
I leaned over the counter, rocking my hips in a fruitless bid to shake away the twisting, stabbing, squeezing pain. As I struggled to fill my lungs with air, my mind scrambled for answers. Was this what endometriosis felt like? A cyst rupturing? A fibroid? Oh my god, what if it was a tumor?!
I felt more fluid dripping in globs onto my pad, and I let out a sob. "It feels so bad!" I whimpered to my friend, tears coming to my eyes. "I just . . . just want it to stop!" My lower back suddenly felt like it was going to break, and I let out another sob as my knees began to give out under me.
Newt saw me falling and he acted quick. His arms hooked under my shoulders, and he arched his back to try and keep me standing.
"Woah, hey!" he cried as he caught me in a low crouch, just before I'd hit the ground. "What's wrong?!"
My first thought was to tell him to put me down. He shouldn't be straining himself like that, and I worried about him even through the blinding pain. I opened my mouth to scold him, but that's when it happened. I will never forget the moment it happened.
A huge weight began to sit on my lower bowels, and I swear to god I thought my guts were going to fall out. A tsunami wave of nausea rolled up from that horrible sinking pressure and hit my stomach like a geyser. I dry heaved and sank lower to the floor as my mind was overtaken by one silent demand:
Push!
"Newt-!" was all I managed to gasp.
And then I was bearing down with all my strength.
I'd never felt anything more intense in my life. It was an unholy demon pressing down on me, and I had no choice but to submit.
A scream -- a full, honest-to-god scream -- ripped itself free of my throat. I rested just long enough to inhale, and then I was pushing again, my chin pressed to my chest. I felt a shift deep inside, pressing against my lower spine. Something was prying me open. Something was slipping its way down.
I screamed again as the realization finally dawned on me: Something was coming out!
"Fawn?!" I heard his frantic voice, but my vision was haloed in black. "Fawn, talk to me!"
I held onto Newt as my lifeline, until I ran out of the strength to push anymore. "Help me!" I panted, hugging him closer. "God, please help me!"
"What is it?!"
"I'm fucking turning inside out!" I cried, growling as I pushed the object lower into my pelvis.
At first, I was convinced my colon or something was about to pop out like a fucked up horror movie; but I felt the object heading to a different area of my body. I could feel my swollen labia pushing out into my pad.
"Augh, I think it's my uterus!" I sobbed as I strained -- unable to stop myself in both regards. "That's what's falling out!"
"What the fuck?!" Newt cried. "That can happen?!"
"Yes!"
"Oh, shit!" Newt jumped up and began circling the kitchen. "Where the hell is my phone?! I'm calling 9-1-1!"
"Please fucking do!" I yelled, dropping to all fours as Newt hurried to look for his phone in the living room.
Forbidding myself to push was like forbidding myself to breathe. It simply had to happen. Tears flowed from my eyes as I was forced to push out one of my own internal organs. Not just any organ, the one that would end my dream of having a family once it was gone.
This was hell. I was in hell.
My hips tried to jerk away from the pain as the object began to force itself though my vagina. I felt the object pressing against my pad as I pushed, and I wondered if it would be enough to hold it in. Maybe if I could somehow keep it inside me, the doctors would be able to pull it back in.
The next push told me I had no other choice but it let it out. What was happening was happening fast. Too fast. Too fast! Oh, fuck! I felt my skin yawn open and pull tight, creating a hellish burn that made me scream myself hoarse.
I hiked my pants down and craned my neck to see between my legs. The first thing I saw was a long strand of pink-red mucous clinging to my bulging lips for a few seconds, before dripping down onto the pad at my knees.
I saw a hint of something beginning to breech out of me. It was fleshy and covered in blood. It was somewhat blue colored and wrinkled, and I was terrified. My inside-out uterus was coming out of me, and I couldn't bear the sight.
I shut my eyes tight and screamed through another huge push. I had a flash of the thought: "Since when was my uterus this big? Isn't it supposed to be small?" But it was gone before I could dwell on it.
Newt's footsteps ran back into the kitchen.
"Okay, I found-."
Both his voice and his footsteps came to a screeching halt as they entered the room. I heard something drop to the ground, and it sounded like the heavy-duty casing Newt kept on his cellphone.
"Holy fucking shit . . . !" Newt's voice was muffled, as if he was pressing his hand to his mouth.
"If it's really bad, don't tell me," I begged through gritted teeth, a small sob jolting my shoulders.
Newt didn't say anything, but I heard him drop to his knees in front of me. I opened my eyes and saw him spreading a hand towel from the sink over his lap.
"It's not that bad," he said, taking my arms and adjusting them so I was holding onto his shoulders. His voice was uncanny -- it was obvious he was pretending to be calm.
Newt draped the towel over his hands and my heart dropped.
"W-what are you doing?" I asked.
"Don't worry. I've got you covered," he said. "Just push."
"Newt?" I asked, turning my face towards his. My heart was starting to pound behind my eyes. "What's happening to me?"
I didn't see him smile, but his tone remained steady. "It'll be okay, Fawn. I promise."
I gripped his arms tighter as another pain started. "Oh god, I'm dying, aren't I?" I groaned. I wasn't even scared at the thought -- at this point, death felt like the only end to this pain. I'd all but accepted it.
"You're not dying, Fawn," Newt said, brushing his cheek against mine. His fledging facial hair tickled. "You're fine, you just need to push."
Sighing, I lowered my forehead to his shoulder and followed my body's demands. The stretch continued, grew worse by the second, until something round and squishy slipped out and dangled between my thighs.
God, it was finally over.
All we had to do was call an ambulance and they could take me to surgery. However this happened, there was still a chance my uterus could be saved. My dream didn't have to be - !
Oh, fuck. Oh, fuck! Oh, fuck, I was still pushing!
I screamed into Newt's body as my burning lips spread further over something wide for a few white-hot seconds. There was a disgusting splash that gushed over my inner thighs, followed by the softest little 'plop'.
I was empty. I felt hollow and numb. My body buzzed, but it felt dead. I was left gasping in deep breaths to steady my racing heart, staring off into nothing over Newt's shoulder. My eyes burned from sweat pouring down my brow.
"Fawn," Newt said -- his voice sounded miles away, "look."
"I don't wanna look at it," I sighed, wiping my face on my sleeve.
That's when she cried for the first time.
A warbled little mewl flew up to meet my ears.
I looked down, in the space between Newt and I . . . and I screamed.
A blue cord of flesh was hanging between my legs, coated in blood. It trailed down in a soft arch to the towel sitting on Newt's lap, where I saw the answer to every question I'd had that day.
Laying there between Newt's hands, squirming and screaming and blue, was a wrinkly newborn baby.
She was a girl.
I see you’ve been reboggling a lot of old asks from me which has also gotten my brain juice flowin like
Lately I’ve been thinking about roommates who bond over a pregnancy. A one night stand or a surrogacy, doesn’t really matter, all we care about are the roomies who are now stuck in this fun situation of finding a new groove. Bonus points if the pregnant one gets big and uncomfy quick, leading to far far more late night rendezvouses.
The way I picture it, it starts with your typical incredibly awkward “I gotta come clean about something” scenario, with roomie B expecting a broken appliance or a forgetting power bill, but certainly not a pregnancy! Then as roomie A grows, they get needy, which sends roomie B into overdrive. Late night pizza runs become a regular occurrence, waking up way too early to hold their roommates hair, sitting up at night cause roomie A thinks they felt a kick and wants witnesses.
Then break happens, they go home, and when roomie A comes back they’re HUGE, which changes everything. Suddenly they need so much more to be comfy, and roomie B begins to realize just how much they like being there for their pal. They spend all afternoon at school just to come home and both collapse into the same twin bed, using the other bedroom as storage because who needs it? Sharing is caring after all. Roomie B is there to hold roomie A when they’re sobbing at a ghibli film or some advertisement about sad animals, they’re there to help with anything academic or physical, they’re driving their expectant buddy to and from appointments now that they’ve outgrown the drivers seat.
Bajshxjhshxhs it is 5 am and this ask is ridiculously long winded but I am tired and sappy and obsessed with this idea and thought you’d like it okie bye
uh hello???????? you have left this beauty of an ask in my inbox?????? Marin i am kissing your forehead right now.
roommate B has had nothing but terrible experiences with past roommates so when A comes to confess something they brace themselves for a problem. it's expected, especially when A looks anxious and worried before spilling the secret. the last thing that B would have ever expected was to be living with someone who was going to have a baby. they don't hate babies but they never hung out with people who had children of their own. it was going to be a learning curve to say the least.
the roommates were never close in the beginning, keeping to themselves as they had only recently roomed together but now they find themselves in each other's space. A has asked for help in the morning because the nausea makes it tough to function early in the morning so B is on kitchen duty. B tends to do a lot of the clean up now to give their roomie a break in the first trimester. it's only fair that someone does the bulk of the housework when A is creating a whole person over the course of nine months!
B is also in this weird "I'm not the parent of this child but I feel responsible for A and this child" state of mind that is confusing to them. they don't know why their brain has latched onto being the caretaker for a pregnant person but whatever A asks for, they get. A is feeling cold and wants to borrow a blanket? it's put in the dryer so it's extra warm. it's two am and they have an intense craving for pizza, but only the pizza at this shop that is an hour away? yeah just let B get dressed and get coffee in them before they take the drive. they don't want to be sitting alone at their doctor's appointment and want moral support? of course B will be driving them to and from every appointment now so they don't have to be alone. A meekly knocks on the bedroom door and says the baby needs a cuddle? get in under the covers and pick a movie! it's this perfectly platonic relationship that both just don't acknowledge but now all of their family and friends wonder if they're dating.
when they have to go home for their respective holidays there are definitely tears shed by A. it's seventy-five percent hormones and twenty-five percent not wanting to be away from B for weeks on end. they're ending their second trimester right now and terribly needy. the roomies have forgone sticking to each other's rooms to alternating every few days—it's become their routine. A also worries that something catastrophic will happen and B will force them to move out which B shuts down immediately. they're stuck with each other now whether they liked it or not. this comfortable thing the roomies have with each other is too precious to B for it to ever cross their mind to end it. A has become more than a friend, they've become a companion that has made their days more exciting ever since they got close. it isn't long after A is dropped off at the airport (with more tears shed) and B not even out of the parking structure that a text is sent that reads "we already miss you :c"
they talk every day of the break. A leaves no details of the crazy antics sprinkle (the baby has a thing for funfetti cake and B said they were probably a sprinkle now so it stuck) has been up to and complaining how cold it was where their family lives. they've sent many a selfie where they were hidden under piles of blankets or bundled up in multiple layers of warm clothes with a pouty lip and silly quip about how nobody does the dryer trick here like B does. it's too cute for B to handle. the weeks drag on for eternity to their dismay, their mind straying to how their gravid friend was doing.
to make matters worse A was stuck for an extra week due to a surprise blizzard that grounded all planes going in and out of the state. that was nearly a month apart and it drove B mad. too much time has been spent away from A and there was going to be hell to pay if this new flight would be canceled. if they were stuck any longer with their parents A wouldn't be cleared to fly, leaving them with no other choice but driving hours back down. B would have gone up there themselves to bring A back if it was necessary but to their happiness there were no cancelations and A was in route back home. B couldn't pick them up—work had switched schedules without asking—so they sent a friend to go to the airport for pick up. luckily A would already be home by the time B was off work so they wouldn't be alone in the house for long.
B never considered how fast someone grew in their final months of pregnancy. A's clothes still hide the bump before they left. now, walking into the apartment, B could do nothing except stare at their roommate. A hadn't grown, but popped in the last month since they were apart! there was an undeniable swell that tented A's shirt, their stance wider as they waddled to the door to greet B with a watery grin. the bump is pressed between them which makes it impossible to really hug while making it hard for B to not plaster their hands on the belly. the baby takes the opportune moment to shift between them as they were clearly unhappy about being squished. A chuckles at the movement but B is completely losing it.
after that they don't really stay apart for long. they're very, very close to one another at every second of the day just to revel in the fact that the baby will be born soon. A likes to complain about the pains from the movements of the nugget but they will actually miss it. B, however, has made it loud and clear how they'll miss being able to cuddle up with the belly and feel the nugget move. though both are equally excited to meet the little kicker that they've been waiting nearly ten months to hold.
