Wanted to share this commission by Dash, who so lovingly illustrated my vision for Gunter's first wife!! Although Lorah's lived in my head since 2017, this is the first time I've had her drawn. Because I'm so thrilled over this art, I put together a little introduction for her!! you can read more about her below~

A Nohrian commoner whose known the kingdom's southern mountain range and neighbouring valleys her entire life, Lorah was a recognizable resident of her town even though she kept to herself. Learning the basics of herbal remedies from a young age, she would split her time between tending to the fields and easing the woes of the sick. In adulthood, she would chance upon meeting a Nohrian Great Knight during her town's annual spring festival. The couple's engagement, after seven years of courting, had become one of the most highly anticipated moments amongst the townsfolk.

*NOT the Nohrian Queen. I named their kid before I realized what Xander's mom's name was and by that point I was already ATTACHED (tell me Caterpillar is not the cutest nickname). So now the reason they share a name is lore relevant (which is a part of this fic!).

SECRET SANTA ATTACK!! A beetle Loop for my gift victim @petrii-dish >:3c

I saw "insects" and "Loop" on their wishlist and neurons started firing. I'm always saying that I love when people creature-fy characters I like, but I've never done the creature-ing myself until now!

While going through Pep's blog for inspiration, I saw art of a woolly chafer beetle drawn by @/bowelfly. I'd never seen them before, and let me tell you they're the cutest bug I've ever seen and I was obsessed with them immediately. So round... so woolly...

As I was going down the woolly chafer appreciation rabbit hole, I started noticing traits I could incorporate into Loop's design. And thus; beetle Loop! :] (Although their antennae are more common cockchafer inspired. Their big antenna fans are so fancy!)

Lots of rambling and bonus art of a much more beetle-looking Loop under the cut, so be warned if you're squicked by bugs

The creatuuuure. Boop here was my first time trying to draw organic shapes with vanishing point guides and such. It went... okay...? No clue how people apply that to more complicated shapes like people though, heh.

Anyways, back to the humanoid Boops. The design elements I focused on were the antenna leaves looking like those shards of light you can see in the opening CG and some of Loop's portraits, the fluff and tibia spikes substituting for Loop's skin frizzles, wings with veins made up of constellations, and that very peculiar angular elytra shape. ;)

I had to stop myself from going ham and making the design super detailed, because I wanted it to look like something you could reasonably imagine in-game. I think I did alright in that regard! Their suspicious elytra ended up feeling fitting too, since only seeing them from the front in-game would make that foreshadowing more subtle. Also, while my decision to make them a beetle was 100% just "I really love that beetle I saw", I like the implication that the Universe was like, "Stars, you have a thick shell. Become a beetle." 😂

I struggled for a bit trying to place clock hands in the first drawing, but then I started to think that a handless clock is kinda fitting? Love when I can cover laziness with symbolism. :P

Time taken on designing and the first two drawings was 31 hours and 34 minutes (I forgot to tally them separately whoops), and beetle Boop took 8 hours and 44 minutes. It was supposed to be a doodle (because common cockchafers are sometimes called "doodlebugs" get it-) but I'm SO bad at doodling. Got lost in the perspective ruler sauce.

anyways, for some background to this picture because for some reason my brain was making a fanfiction about these guys getting high while i was drawing:

two-bit brought the goods, dallas brought the bong, johnny rolled that shit.

ponyboy and soda BOTH had to beg darry to let them get high, to which darry begrudgingly obliged — so long as everyone stayed inside so they didn't get stuck in any trouble anywhere. and also he got high too. (it took a LOT of convicing though)

I've mentioned it before in my soda & steve smoking doodles, but I'm convinced they just get reaaaaaallly clingy with each other when high. and quiet. like, they're only whispering, and it's only to each other kind of quiet.

dallas is just there for the vibes, he's probably joking around with johnny because those two are the biggest stoners imaginable on the downlow, so everyone's fucked up n they're just straight chilling.

i can only imagine ponyboy as getting the WORST hypersensitivity when he gets high, feeling literally everything and hearing too much and seeing the colors and lights much too bright for his liking. it's like the whole world gets louder, and he HATES it. but thankfully for his silly friend johnny—the only guy that he can have a comfortable high around—he's doing moderately okay.

two-bit is simply a show off, no other way to put it. and he ABSOLUTELY REGRETS IT TOMORROW. getting cross-faded is always a terrible idea, and he KNOWS it. but is that stopping him? hell nah. and dallas does it too. but dallas isn't as effected because he can handle his weight n' knows his limits. TWOBIT DOESN'T 💀

in my eyes, everytime darry gets high he either ends up across town or he ends up having an existential crisis. in this scene, he's having an existential crisis. probably about paul. he's most definitely thinking about all of his deepest regrets and deepp rooted trauma in that chair. is he saying shit about it? nnnnnope.

these guys are so ridiculous — i could've done something serious for the 100 followers special, but i saw this as a PERFECT opportunity when i realized what day it was. thankyou to all the people who like the stuff i post, this one goes out to you !!! 🫵😼

a/n: lol sorry this took so long to get out but SHITS GETTING REALL!!!!! edit: if u saw the lil mistake w the room number ignore that… fixed now Lol oh AND another image i took out bc i had a diff idea initially and wow i need to proofread..

initially, you were just going to type in the company address and pray that it was the right one—yunjin had insisted, actually. but it's better to be safe than sorry.

you walk into hybe, your phone is tight in your hand as you read the address yunjin had sent you after you repeatedly asked her for it minutes before you left the dorm.

the hallways are sleek and polished, but confusing as hell. and after a few minutes of wandering around and looking for any map or sign that would lead to room 12c, you came to the conclusion that you would not be able to find it in less than twenty minutes.

it's a few seconds after your realization that you notice a girl walking toward you. she looks shorter than you, maybe your age—if not then most likely younger than yunjin. she's dressed in dark baggy jeans and a loose fit graphic white t-shirt that gives her a sense of approachability and the hint that maybe she's someone who can navigate the place.

"excuse me," you say, stepping closer. "sorry to bother you, but i think i'm lost. do you know where room 12c is?"

the girl hums at your first two words. then she looks up, and as soon as her eyes meet you, she stops in her tracks and stares at you like you've just stepped out of a dream. her eyes widen, and for a moment, she doesn't respond.

"uh—" she stammers, her brows furrow just a bit and the look on her face screaming is this real? a warmth starts to spread to her cheeks as she tries to respond, "3c? yeah, uh, yeah. sure. i—i can show you."

"thank you," you reply with a polite smile, but she still seems... off? you glance at her nervously. "are you alright? you look a little pale." you pause, noticing that maybe that's not the right choice of words after noticing the hue of pink on the tips of her ears and cheeks. maybe she's an idol too? she could be winded from practice. "—sorry! not to be rude or anything, i'm just—i'm just worried, that's all."

her blush deepens, and she shakes her head quickly. "no! i'm fine. really." she clears her throat, avoiding your gaze. "thank you for worrying. sorry to worry you, i just had... a really tiring practice."

"aw, you should definitely rest up and drink some water after this then." you say, understanding her reaction now.

"anyway, l—let me show you the way."

she starts walking, motioning for you to follow. you notice how her steps are a little too quick, like she's trying to get this over with before she combusts. meanwhile, you're trying to piece together why she seems so nervous. it can't just be the practice that has her like this, can it?

when you finally reach the studio, you thank her, and before she can slip away, the door swings open. yunjin steps out, her face lighting up when she sees you.

"oh my god, y/n!" she exclaims, pulling you into a tight hug. "i was literally about to go looking for you! i know you suck with directions."

"i'm not that bad."

"remember that time in new jersey—"

"okay, okay. i get it." you cut her off, scoffing playfully.

yunjin pulls away, then pouts. "it's been foreeevver."

you laugh. "it's been a few weeks, jen."

behind you, the girl—hanni—freezes. her wide eyes dart between you and yunjin.

"oh, hanni!" yunjin notices her and smiles brightly. "did you help y/n out with directions?"

hanni nods. "oh, yeah."

"aw, thanks so much." yunjin says gratefully.

hanni shrugs, trying to look casual as if she isn't experiencing all too many emotions at once. "it was no problem."

"wait," you say, glancing at hanni. "you two know each other?"

yunjin grins, resting a hand on hanni's shoulder. "yeah, this is hanni. she's a part of newjeans. remember that group i told you about? you said you were listening to them on the plane—the bunny looking album."

your eyes widen as realization dawns. "ohhh. no way... that's you?"

hanni nods shyly, her face heating up even more. "yeah, that's... that's me. and my other members, of course."

"i didn't know, oh my gosh, i'm so sorry. i listened to all the songs on the plane and immediately added them to my liked songs as soon as i got off. i really like ‘hurt’ and ‘attention’ and—i'm rambling, oh my god." you chuckle, "sorry."

hanni waves her hands, laughing softly along with you. "no, no. it's fine, really, haha."

you give her a genuine smile now. "well, it's nice to officially meet you. i've got to get into your group more."

"aw, that's so sweet. you're so sweet." and so striking and lovely and cute now that you're in front of her and alive and real and wow. hanni wants to say it all, but she refrains. "thank you."

yunjin looks between the two of you, chuckling at how much you're rambling and how flustered hanni looks. hanni looks at the ground, then back at you and your best friend. she gives you one last smile, nodding and clasping her hands together.

"right, i have to go back to the members." hanni lies, knowing she just left them. "it was nice meeting you, y/n—right?" hanni says as if she hasn't known about you since you had less than a hundred subscribers—she's going to keep that a secret for now.

"yeah. it was really nice meeting you hanni. thank you for helping me out." you smile back at her and feel yunjin's gaze burning through you.

hanni nods, then waves at yunjin. "bye! see you around yunjin, and maybe you too y/n?" hanni adds, hiding the fact that she would love to see you around more.

"hopefully."

"yeah." hanni looks like she can't get out of there fast enough. she waves once more before turning around and walking quickly down the hall, turning even quicker at the corner.

yunjin nudges your shoulder and you two walk in the other direction of the hall. you turn to yunjin with a curious look.

"hanni seems... shy."

"nah," yunjin shrugs, waving it off. "she's cool. i guess she's winded form practice, i mean, i'd be shy too if i met someone as gorgeous as you~"

a groan slips from your lips and you shove your shoulder into hers. "corny... but keep going my biggest fan."

yunjin rolls her eyes, then continues, "anyway, i honestly think you and hanni would get along really well. you two are really alike, i can't lie."

"really?"

your best friend nods. "she's funny and you two just have the same vibe. maybe this won't be the last time you run into her with me around."

"pftt, are you're going to introduce me to every idol here at this point. sakura, chaewon, kazuha, eunchae—you—and now newjeans?"

she shrugs again, laughing. "you never know."

you hum in respond, letting yunjin steer the conversation toward catching up on you—how university life has been treating you, the chaos of balancing your music goals and studies. but as you talk, you can't help but zone out now and then, hanni still lingering in your mind.

maybe it's the shock. a literal idol had just helped you find your way, and you hadn't even realized it at first. embarrassing, really, considering how often you'd been playing newjeans during your study sessions. you should probably do a little research on them now—at least to avoid a repeat of this.

and okay, sure—it's not just that.

hanni is really pretty, which, yeah, is kind of a given since she's an idol. a fact that you still can't get over. but there's something about her that stands out—features that stick with you even when you're not trying to hold onto them. maybe it's the flushed cheeks, the way her voice wavered slightly, or how she seemed almost... tense around you. whatever it is, it's lodged in your head, replaying like a scene from a movie you can't quite shake.

meanwhile, hanni is still leaning against the wall around the corner, trying to compose herself. her heart's racing, and her face is burning from the interaction. she presses a hand to her cheeks, breathing deeply, but it doesn't help much.

you, the y/n. y/n l/n.

she replays every moment of your brief encounter—how soft your voice was (just as pretty as your singing) and how worried you seemed when you asked if she was okay. but mostly, she keeps thinking about how you're even more gorgeous up close and in person. she already knew you were beautiful; everytime you posted a picture, she found herself starting longer than she'd admit. but seeing you up close? that was a whole experience itself.

hanni exhales sharply, closing her eyes as she shakes her head. minji would tease me relentlessly, hanni thinks. still, the thought lingers, the question hanging heavy in her mind—if she ever sees you again, will she even survive it?

Heehee... AZ's pose in the mosaic is reference to this Xanthos comic >:3c additionally, the flowers on the outer border are marigolds, which are Xan's theme flower. Marigolds represent both affection and jealousy, so they fit Xan perfectly.

I think for AZ, part of the struggle of being king was the way he was perceived. He was a king, a messiah, he made things better for everyone! They did not see him for who he truly was... which is a sad, lonely guy with anger issues.

Of course, it upset AZ when his own younger brother seemed to buy into this idealized image too ... But AZ didn't realize at the time that for Xan, such perceptions came from a place of low self esteem. "You're so much better than I could ever be."

I think even now, AZ struggles with the Idealized Version of himself vs. his reality, especially when it comes to how he is remembered in history. You can see the sort of different reactions to him as a historical figure in the ways he's treated by Lysandre and Sycamore ^.^

Anyways. I got a little carried away I really just wanted to talk about how this is secretly an AZ and Xan drawing 😭 but that's okay 🙏🏾

So I may or may not be a little (aka a lot) charmed by all of your characters because, my dear, they are absolutely AMAZING and super charismatic!

and then I found myself wondering how they would react if their darlings got a little depressed about how miserable their social life has become... I mean, how do you manage to keep your mental health up with a total of ONE PERSON in your life?!

I was thinking about this because I'm Brazilian, and we are social creatures ya'know, we NEED other people to keep living and believe me, the pandemic situation DID NOT HELP IN THAT ASPECT OF US. Besides, we are touchy people, we greet each other with kisses on the cheek, long and deep hugs whenever we feel like it and I don't really think the oc's would appreciate our affection being distributed like this 😞 unless is with them, which is totally possible because if we are touchy with strangers, with the close ones we are SUPER lovey dovey.

If you could ease my curiosity about this aspect, I would be very, very happy 👉👈 and I don't mean it's just this specific scenario, just being depressed in general, begging for any kind of normal human interaction hahaha.

Anyway, sorry for this LONG text, this has been on my mind since I started reading your works (and they are AMAZING, really, I'm in love with your writing style!). As I said before, I'm Brazilian and English is not my first language, so I'm sorry for any mistakes 🤗.

Here's the answer to your request down below!!

So, Jiu's case is really interesting because he has the intellect, power, AND money to ensure that he's the closest person to you even if he DOESN'T lock you up. He's basically puppeteering your life from the background while giving you a sense of free will (e.g., you got into your specific college because of HIM, you got your specific job because of HIM, and so on). Getting him to isolate you from society would only really happen if you rejected him/began to distance yourself from him.

If you got too lonely because you could only interact with him, Jiu would cosplay and roleplay any person/character you wanted to in order to give some illusion of diverse human interaction. If you became depressed, he'd get you a therapist and anything else you might need, but... make no mistake, that therapist (while licensed properly) is NOT on your side.

On occasion, Jiu would allow you to interact with his paid workers while he's watching. Like, he'll hire a "friend" for you (who only visits at 11 AM on Fridays) and let you talk to the nanny and stuff, but that'd be it. Now, he'll be controlling your life from the frontlines rather than the backdrop and there's really nothing you can do about it, oops.

For Finley... he's actually a very clueless yandere + extremely pathetic. His emotions are very volatile so he's easy to upset/please. When he isolates you from society, it's because he thinks it's for the greater good. People are so corrupt, can't you see? He's only doing it to protect you. If you got depressed due to only being able to interact with him, he'd just cling even harder to you. After all, you're lonely because he hasn't been spending enough time with you, right (wrong)? For him, he'd understand that you seem sad, but he wouldn't understand why. He's just protecting you! Though, he may get you some pets -- he's VERY partial to animals and likes them quite a bit more than he likes humans.

Oh man, so Tynan has mind magic, so his solution is pretty messed up. He'll either hypnotize you to be okay with your situation OR give you dreams where you interact with people. His dream magic is scary because it's genuinely really hard to tell dreams from reality, so before long, you'll be tricked into thinking you spent time with the people you love when really, you were sleeping on Tynan's lap the whole time.

As for the abandoned water god... he does care about you, but not enough to let you interact with other people, even if you're feeling depressed. After you basically helped awaken him after he was forgotten for centuries, he's super obsessed with you. He doesn't need anyone else as long as he has you, so he thinks that you don't need anyone else since you have him. He'll take you to go see a bunch of sea animals, though! But those sea animals are the only other living beings you'll see. Not to mention that he's practically cursed with immortality, sooo... yeah, you're not escaping him.

Finally, for the farmer... he lives pretty isolated on his big farm anyway, so if you're his neighbor, you're already kind of isolated from everyone else. The farmer isolates you by making you dependent on him so you'll stay by his side willingly rather than locking you up. For the most part, he'll actually let some people (who are not romantically interested in you) visit you -- in fact, he actually doesn't mind it if your family visits because they all adore him (and it's so so so cute to see them tease you about how you must be dating him). But woo boy, you are very very very rarely going to be able to leave the farm. Issues crop up one way or another: blocked road, punctured tire, empty gas tank, etc... so, really, you can't leave. Unless, well, he escorts you. But it might just be better to stay on the farm since it's much more convenient, you know?
