Alright not to like liveblog my breakdown on main but yesterday was a really bad day after a really bad, like, 4 months, and I've hit a bit of a breaking point and one of the only things in my life that can give is running @mdzsartreblogs , @tgcfartreblogs , @svsssartreblogs , @erhaartreblogs , @tykartreblogs , and @cnovelartreblogs , so that is what has to give. It's been a 99-out-of-100 days thankless job. A small number of people do say thank you and yall I appreciate you so much (HUGE shout-out to the artist I met at Flamecon who gifted me a zine when I said I ran these blogs, @bonesblubs you rock) but I have never done an act of fandom labor simultaneously this labor intensive yet this invisible before and, uh. It sucks. I spend an hour or more a day on this every day, if it's under 2k hours since I started the first of these in September 2020 I'd be shocked. And I do it because I love it but doing it means I don't have time or energy to do other things I love. And I really don't want to just quit, but I can't keep this up.

In a last-ditch effort to try not to just give up, I'm making the following changes:

1. Only watching one tag per fandom for the MXTX fandoms. I am going to check *only* #tgcf, #svsss, and #mdzs. Artwork posted to any other tag, I will not see unless a mutual reblogs it.

2. Reduced tagging (even more). I'm only going to tag characters and maybe overarching au type (eg, "modern au," "fantasy au"). I'll no longer tag creatures. I will continue to tag the same common trigger warnings I already tag.

3. If a work's appearance doesn't make it obvious what it is AND the tags aren't clear, I'm not going to reblog. I can't keep spending 5 minutes or more trying to figure out what I'm even looking at, scared that if I guess wrong the artist will get mad at me for mistagging their work. If I do reblog, I'll tag only the artist name and/or whatever else I can identify for sure.

4. I am no longer going to follow #link click. The fandom is just too big. I've started dreading checking it. If I was more into it and less busy I would make another spin off just for it but neither of those is true. (The art is so good, I hate to do this, but. If you love link click, highly recommend the main tag, lots of great stuff there.)

5. I will no longer tag any non-cnovel content in the art/post. Like, if someone draws, idek, Xie Lian and Marinette from Ladybug, I'm not gonna put any tags for Marinette, just for Xie Lian.

6. Basically if I run into something hard to tag or confusing or unclear, my new policy is I'm not gonna fricken bother.

I think those are everything but idefk, I cried for 3 hours last night and got 4 hours of sleep so I'm mostly fueled by exhaustion and desperation right now and my memory is even more fried than usual.

How artists can help. This is obviously all optional. You do you. But since some people might want to know what would make my life easier, I'm sharing. I'm not claiming I feel entitled to dictate how people fandom or anything like that.

1. Put the tags for the character(s) and ship(s) early in the tag list.

2. If you make art for a fandom that isn't one of the big ones (right now the only big danmei fandoms on tumblr as far as I can tell are the MXTX fandoms and maybe 2ha) I am begging you to use my tracked tag #cnovelartreblogs

3. Do mdzs art? Tag #mdzs. Do tgcf art? Tag #tgcf. Do svsss art? Tag #svsss.

4. Not only artists, but everyone, *please* stop tagging fandoms not discussed and/or depicted in your post. It's gotten to be stupid common for people to blanket the danmei fandom tags with posts only about one fandon (like, svsss-only works also being tagged mdzs and tgcf and 2ha for some damn reason). This isn't about just my sideblogs tbh this is just fandom etiquette that seems to have been forgotten or never learned by many. Tagging unrelated fandoms isn't "reach," it's annoying. People go into the #mdzs tag to see mdzs, not whatever not-mdzs stuff people have decided to tag for ~reach~, and seeing the same post in 8 tags, none of which it's related to, is so damn irritating, and makes scrolling the tags looking for content that IS relevant take that much longer. Knock it off.

Okay. I think that's as much as I'm prepared to meltdown where everyone can see. Thanks in advance everyone for your understanding, and apologies to everyone about to see this 8 times as I reblog it to each sideblog.

You know what i have kind of being afraid lately that charles and max becomes a bit more distant and cold, because of how much lestappen started to get talked. Because before it was just fans, but now even f1 media uses the lestappen thing a lot

The RPF curse unfortunately, the more popular the thing becomes, the more it spreads to people who aren't as strict with boundaries about it as they should be (because it gets them engagement!) and the more likely it becomes that someone who should NOT know about the RPF finds out about it.

The comments underneath Max's latest instagram post left me feeling uneasy, to be honest. Far too much "omg Lestappen!" or something along those lines making jokes that I would almost believe were lifted straight from the tag on tumblr. It's disconcerting. All I can do is warn about how I've seen other popular RPF go south in my time which is that people either a. end up trying to play into that content so much that it gets noticed by the people involved or b. conspiracy theorist begin to be incredibly invasive in an attempt to 'prove' that they are into each other/the ship is real etc. etc.

The issue isn't tumblr, it's fandom culture which historically was concentrated on tumblr going mainstream and people who I'm sure ten years ago would've bullied our ilk on whatever playground suddenly using fandom terminology or speaking openly about ao3 and shipping or using ship names in spaces where it's not appropriate. I've seen the complaint with Lestappen that it's full of 'ex-larries trying to do the same shit' when in my experience, it couldn't really be further from the truth. All the people who watched Larry happen either from within the fandom or as an onlooker (as I was) know full well how south RPF can go if you don't put in place strong internal and external boundaries. As a result, we may have some ex-larries or similar among us on tumblr, but in my experience the 'trauma' (for lack of a better word) and hindsight enables us to set down boundaries quite well and keep the RPF on tumblr and ao3. The people who are pushing romantic Lestappen past boundaries are those who have NOT witnessed something like Larry in real time, and indeed may not have had any real fandom experience in their more formative years and as a result have no idea how to interact with fandom etiquette or fandom culture. This applies to fans, but also to social media and media teams as well, who come across fandom terminology, see that it gets interaction, and choose to use it. It is a massive problem, and I'm so afraid to say that at the rate we're going at it's a matter of when Max and Charles discover what we mean by Lestappen, not it.

Hi, I'll preface this by saying that I'm a fan of your writing and this is not a rant at you specifically. It's something that I'm growing more and more frustrated with when navigating content/creations in the fandom (and other fandoms on here too tbh). Your posts just happened to be the ones I came across today and they provide a convenient case study into the matter.

I think we all know that the inbuilt tumblr feature to embed existing gifs in posts is very broken (where it automatically credits, and links you back to the full set when you click the text/username under it), and it can be very frustrating to find the exact one you want.

But reposting them yourselves without credit is seen as very bad etiquette amongst creators, and a lot of creators will block people for this reason (to avoid said person collecting and reposting their future content), and warn their fellow creator mutuals to do so too.

Also, it makes the user experience quite annoying for some users. i.e. You see a post with a really cool gif; you swore you've seen that exact one before, you may even recognise the very specific style/coloring, OR you've not seen that scene giffed before but you've wanted to, you now really want to like/reblog the full set if you could find it. Either way; you wish you could see the whole thing from the original post. But there's no link or even an indication as to the original creator/blog it came from, so... yeah this sucks.

From your other posts you seem like a reasonable and well intentioned person, so I don't think you're setting out to be deceptive in any way (some will actually fully repost a mish mash of different sets, and caption and tag it as if it's their own creation), you just want to scream about your faves, as you should. And I'm sorry this got so so long but I think I need to make it really clear, because I assume that some of these reasons/povs/repercussions must be unknown for it to keep happening. I could go into how it affects creators in fandoms in more detail but I'm sure you can imagine and I don't want to extend the lecture (just imagine someone copying and pasting excerpts from your fan fiction, and posting it, without any citation of said fan fiction or even mention of the author).

TLDR - Please link back to the original post if you're sharing stand alone gifs, made by someone else, in your own posts. Or better yet, reblog the original post that you're downloading the images from, with your added commentary (we would actually LOVE to see it, but I do also get if you just want to pluck out one specific moment from the set).

I really hope that this doesn't come across as hostile, and that you answer so it can be shared to make others more aware too.

I'm still very new to Tumblr and learning the ropes. I didn't really intend to post S3 gifs at all - I was keeping Kanthony photos/gifs I liked on my phone to share with friends, and eventually I realized how many I had saved, so I decided to start making posts with them, and I was simply uploading them from my phone at that point.

You see so many gifs floating around here - I didn't think closely about the time and effort that people are going through to create these gifs, and I will do better in giving them the recognition and attention they deserve. (If one of the gifs I've used is yours, please let me know and I will tag you.)

so i (age irrelevant, pronouns they/them) am thinking about changing my url, for the first time in my several years on tumblr. this means i'm not quite sure of the general etiquette of url saving. i've got the url saved with a sideblog because i'm still considering the change. i think i will end up changing, but i'm also quite attached to my old url and might go back to it some day. so there's the possibility of being TA. i want to make a sideblog saving my original url for who knows how long. As a non-native English speaker myself, I'll try to help you out with this issue. I have to be honest, I'm not sure when I started writing in English, but I believe it came quite natural to me, because our English classes are mostly like our German ones, so we would have to write whole stories and essays and stuff in English, so it was something I was already doing. And probably not doing it correctly all the time. And that is something that you will have to be ok with.

That there will be mistakes and there will be phrases that sound a little too stiff, sentences that are structured like your native language and words that don't have the same impact in English.

My suggestion would be to just start. Write little things. Don't be afraid to go back in and change a sentence when you later see that it's not exactly what you wanted to say. It's a learning curve and you will become more confident and you definitely will become better at it. For me personally, it was really helpful to read in English, to see how stories look like, how they explain what you want to explain, to find new words to incorporate.

And another advice would be: don't apologize beforehand that there will be a ton of mistakes, because it's not your first language. You can just put "not my first language" if you want people to know about it and if you maybe want feedback on grammar or something. But don't apologize. Even if the reader doesn't want to, it automatically makes them hyper-aware of mistakes. And you want them to enjoy your story, not focus on that.

Also remember: It's awesome that you are able to write in a different language. That is an accomplishment. And also, people make mistakes in their own language all the time. If you keep practicing then your mistakes won't be a distraction for the reader reading and enjoying your story. Even if there still are a few here or there.

4. A) This fic is a modern au, I think that both LZ and WY are cultivators, WY specifically is kind of a witch (?), he messes with dark magic and lives in a haunted town or something like this. There's a reencounter between the two (I don't know if by chance or if LZ tracks WY) and at some point LZ gets worried that WY is sorrounded by ghosts/resentful energy, but he is aware of the situation. I think WY even has a pet crow/cat, but I'm not sure. And the plot may envolve him being isolated, running away or being expelled because of his methods of cultivation. Also, I'm pretty sure there's a fanart featured in the story that has Wangxian and the haunted place WY lives/takes care.

B) The second one is also a modern AU, LZ father is very sick, almost dying and stays in the hospital all the time, but LZ refuses to visit him because of the resentment caused by the situation with his parents. He meets WY in this same hospital, I don't remember if he works there, but I think it has something to do with Yanli. They connect through this situation, LZ eventually goes see his father and I think WY has some part in convincing him to do so.

C) Another modern AU, Lan Qiren is a priest/owns a church, the Lans are very religious and that includes LZ. WY is kind of a delinquent, he starts to go to the church and begins a friendship with LZ, who is very upright and frigid like in canon, plus the super religious part. I think LQ even says WY is a bad influence bacause of his behaviour and the things he did/does, but LZ realizes he is not that bad and there's probably some toutoring/disciplining envolved from his part. They are both teens or young adults and I specifically remember a scene when the two have sex inside the church with LZ being on the receiving end.

In the end the Lan win the war and lwj takes wwx under his protection as a sort of war prize. This fic is very heavy on the Jiang and Jin bashing and in the end I think the Jiangs and Jins have to stand trial for their crimes during the war. While wwx is under lwj’s protection and never committed any crimes thus is not punished. And while this is happening wwx meets xiao xingchen and lwj meets song Lan on the way. And it goes along with song Lan and lwj tailing wwx and xiao xingchen hoping to find them and explain everything and make up. I know wwx and xxc end up at baoshan sanren’s mountain and that lwj finds mo xuanyu during this and takes him with them. I remember the detail that a-qing brings song Lan to Lan wangji bc she knows they’re looking for a cultivator dressed in white with a white cloth “over his eyes” and she mistakes the forehead ribbon for that description. Chapter 2: Not a Nightshirt, Please

Holding hands, for no other reason other than they wanted to, became more familiar to the pair. They'd place their hands atop one another on occasion, when they went out for lavish dinners, when they lazily walked around the parks London had to offer, when they sat on benches watching a group of ducks gorge themselves on some miraculously obtained frozen peas. Someone forbid they fed ducks some bread - it's not good for them, you know.

The sun was moving closer to the horizon, as it tends to do, when they walked towards the bookshop. The air was getting chilly, although the pair did not fear the cold, and the streets were beginning to lose the summer bustle. Nevertheless, the air was pregnant with sweet pastry smells and car exhaust, and Crowley's hand felt rough against Aziraphale's.

The door was locked, but soon the keys the angel always carried got it open, and soon enough they were both comfortably sat in the back of the shop, resting their bodies as if they could get weary against the plushness of Aziraphale's sofa. None of them dared break the contact, residual fear that it would somehow never return hanging heavy over their heads, justified or otherwise. The space between them on the sofa was small, occupied mostly by their intertwined hands, and the demon sat as he often did, legs open and free arm draped over the back. Aziraphale's posture could not be more contrasting, as it would've certainly pleased an old Victorian etiquette teacher, free hand placed over his thigh as he looked around the bookshop.

"I rather need to dust, don't I." he confessed, sounding daunted as if he couldn't easily snap the particles away. Crowley always enjoyed how human the angel tried to be at times, deciding to engage in mundane chores when he didn't need to, finding pleasure in caring for his books even though he would never sell them. Both of them always enjoyed the simple things humanity had to bring, and now more than ever they had their interests piqued in how Man chose to do go about certain things.

"I know the shop is a bit of a mess, but I would love you to stay. If you'd like, that is." Aziraphale found the courage to say, feeling an uneasy tightness in his chest he couldn't quite identify. He knew how shame felt like, and this wasn't it. Nervousness, perhaps, but a different kind. A kind he seemed only to experience around Crowley these days, since...

"Stay, angel?" the demon cocked his head, one eyebrow raised above his dark glasses. "I have nowhere else to be." he shrugged, trying to appear as though he wouldn't be absolutely delighted to share the darkest hours of the day over some nice vintage red and light conversation. The angel smiled in return, content at the acceptance of his invitation, nodding slightly.

"Do you still have those bottles I gave you in 1941?" Crowley asked, adjusting slightly on the sofa.

"Oh, yes my dear, I'm saving those for a special occasion." Aziraphale responded with a smile and slightly raised eyebrows. "But today I rather thought I'd like to sleep."

The demon shifted slightly, surprised at the seemingly newfound want Aziraphale felt to engage in sleeping.

"You what? Sloth is a Sin, you know." Crowley retorted, his thin lips curving slightly in amusement.

"Oh, shut it." Aziraphale responded, indignant, his head now facing forward. "You do it all the time. I just want to know how it is." He complained with a slight pout. "I have never really felt the appeal."

"And now you do?"

"I suppose I do." A brief pause. "I suppose certain... human activities, one could call them, are fun if I can share them with you."

The demon felt as though his corporation would set on fire. Sure, he had introduced Aziraphale to all sorts of human pleasures, corrupting him and tempting him to engage in eating, in drinking, in general indulgence. But to hear the angel tell him he enjoyed his company, that he enjoyed being human together, was something else entirely. Maybe Alpha Centauri was a bad idea after all. It's far more fun here on Earth, watching the angel find joy in human life.

"Right." Crowley said after lightly clearing his throat, looking away from the angel and giving his soft hand the lightest squeeze. "Do you even own a bed for yourself, angel?"

"Of course I do." Aziraphale said, almost outraged. "How would I explain to the humans the absence of one?"

"Bring many humans to your home, do you?" Crowley mocked, finding his face felt cool enough to look back at the angel.

"Oh, you wily old fiend. Of course not. It was merely a precaution."

"You have Jim's bed. Figured that'd be enough. Guess not." He mocked again, allowing a grin to spread over his lips. "Let's see it then." Crowley urged, lifting his body from the comfortable sofa and lifting Aziraphale after him.

Aziraphale seemed slightly nervous, which only amused Crowley further. If the bed had tartan linen, he'd never let the angel live it down. They parted their hands in order to climb the narrow stairs to Aziraphale's living chambers (although he didn't seem to do much living up here, if we're being honest).

The room the angel led Crowley to was not very large, a four post bed in the centre of it, accompanied by two side tables covered in a few books and matching lamps. It was comfortable, comforting even, it had that old book smell and clean linens, the walls yellow as the rest of the shop, an old tartan quilt over the oatmeal sheets.

Crowley let out an exaggerated sigh of relief, removing his dark glasses to properly observe his surroundings. "I gotta say, I was expecting much more tartan."

"Tartan is stylish." Aziraphale complained, turning on a bedside table lamp, which oozed a warm glow into the darkening surroundings of the room.

"Right. Maybe 200 years ago." Crowley mocked between gritted teeth. "Alright then, you gotta change out of that." He continued, pointing a long finger at the angel's attire.

"Oh, yes, I always read about humans and their nightwear. Though... I'm not really too sure what they wear to bed these days."

"Pyjamas, angel. Not a nightshirt, please. Like this." With a snap upwards, the demon's slender body was free of tight black trousers and leather waistcoat, and instead an unassuming pair of black pyjamas took their place. "See? Nothing fancy, the idea here is comfort."

"Alrighty then, that I can manage! Doesn't have to be black though, right? I am sure there are far more fashionable patterns."

"It's understated." The demon complained, placing his shades on one of the bedside tables and sitting upon the soft bed. It gave way under his weight nicely. Crowley could already look forward to a nice, long sleep. A familiar nervousness was nestling itself in the demon's gut. Sharing a bed was not something he had personally experienced, it was a new level of intimacy. Though it seemed natural, didn't it? They seemed to be something more than friends these days. Surely friends don't hold hands, don't kiss, albeit only once.

A snap brought Crowley back from his brain's machinations and anxieties, and with that, the angel was wearing a pair of pyjamas that looked much like Crowley's, except cream coloured with light blue stripes. They brought out the blue in his eyes, Crowley thought. How absolutely endearing he looked, all cosy looking and all.

Aziraphale smiled proudly as he presented his new outfit, seeming content with his choice, until uncertainty crossed his face.

"Do we... Crowley, do we both lay there?" He asked, looking over at the demon sat upon his bed.

Crowley's eyebrows jolted up, taken aback by the question, as he had foolishly assumed they'd share the soft mattress. He had hoped they could lay next to each other, feel each other's warmth just out of reach, experience a new level of domesticity and closeness that he so ardently craved. He jumped nimbly off the bed, looking back at it as he spoke. "I mean. No, I can go somewhere else angel, it's no big deal."

"You could. But I rather thought we could... Try it together? Sleeping, I mean."

Cherie, you are mean sometimes. I follow several writers who are going through a lot of shit irl and they are still polite, kind. Even for anons who ask self-explained questions, how are you sure these anons are adults? It's not possible to be sure about this, since they are anons, they could very well be teenagers, you know? She has a basic idea of sex, but nothing super concrete, and the wedding night scene is QUITE a lot.

The Chief by Monica McCarty could be a good one too--the hero isn't exactly MEAN about it, but he's very stern in bed, very remote, very dominating, and the heroine is quite naive.

Untamed by Elizabeth Lowell, for sure. The heroine is naive... the hero is a dick... there is no etiquette lol. There's actual tension in this one too because the hero really wants an heir, the heroine is in an arranged match with him, and they initially hold off on sex because her childhood friend guy was a part of an overthrow attempt and the hero believes she could be pregnant with the friend guy's kid (she's definitely not).

So I have a feeling I'm gonna ramble on here, so tl:dr is basically I love your writing, thanks for sharing. With that out of the way:

I started by reading your G Witch myth analyses here on Tumblr. TBQH a lot of it went over my head, but I enjoyed them all (went through a mythology phase in like elementary school, so it's been a minute, but I still casually enjoy learning about myths). Then I saw you have fics on AO3. And as a millennial on the interwebs I am aware of the site, but as someone generally in the ace sphere of things I haven't actually spent any time over there. Anyway, I found your Law of Causality series and because my Sulemio brainrot is boundless I read As Above So Below. And boy howdy did I enjoy that. Like, read it a few times. The story telling is really good, and I love the little notes you stick on at the ends of the chapters. Now I am not a Prospera fan, so I didn't read Chaos and Night for a while. But eventually I decided I liked your writing enoughto give it a try. What can I say, I truly enjoy the world you concocted and wanted more of it. I'm glad I did, because I think that may be my favorite of the three stories. Still don't like Prospera as a person in general, but you wrote her so well. Like, girl, don't go making those stupid-ass choices. But obviously I see why she did, because her characterization comes through so strong in your stories, so she really had no choice in her decisions (tragically, yes). But, not to state the obvious or anything, Notrette is the one who steals the show. My favorite of your characters. The times where she is so open and honest and vulnerable in sharing her feelings with Prospera kills me every single time. She gets the best lines due to those situations. Like there are at least three times where she bluntly asks Prospera to stay in the garden, and that's not even counting the handful of times she asks for them to be a family. Damn. We all know what's gonna happen, but it doesn't make that knife's edge any less sharp. I have many favorite lines of hers, but up there is when she come back from Delling and tells Prospera she was only able to do it by thinking of her. Man, that whole interaction gets me every time and I gotta take a moment to pause and reflect. Absolutely heart wrenching. Anywho. Their toxic, tragic relationship is just so dynamic. Plus, again, all your mythology easter eggs were delightful. I thoroughly enjoyed looking up the different names and stories as I came upon/recognized them. (I'm actually naming a new character of mine in an upcoming ttrpg I'm joining after one of the gods I learned about and then did a deeper dive into late one night.) I'm sure there was quite a bit that slipped past my notice, which is a testament to your vast knowledge of a wide variety of deities across different cultures. Theophany was like a sweet afterwards/gift when it came out. Loved how it ties in the two stories, and how the two relationships mirror each other. Devastatingly so, and also in a beautiful way. I will never get over Prospera always being so firmly rooted in the past that she kills off so many healing futures she might have had. And how Suletta refuses to do the same, even without knowing her mother's tragedies, and is able to focus more on her present with a certain amount of forethought as well. Ugg, cycles indeed. I have, of course, read your other G Witch fics (the finished ones anyway, will get to the last one when it's completed). Those are great as well, but I mostly wanted to gush about your Law of Causality. I have read each story multiple times now. Just last night I finished reading all of them, in order, in their entirety. I can't get them out of my head (kinda want to go and reread my favorite parts again already) which is what lead me to reaching out to you. I'm not sure if this is poor etiquette or whatever, and I'm not an elegant writer like you, and it's certainly obnoxiously long, but I figured I've gotten so much enjoyment from your writing I ought to let you know. I've been updating my page all day and I'm shocked that someone clicks on the hearts under my posts, and even reposted twice. And so I update again and there is this message. I decided to answer in a very detailed way and speak out.

The first reaction to your message, dear anonymous, was...It hit me like an electric shock. The second reaction is "Run." It was in my head: delete everything quickly, it's not right; you've ruined everything; you've offended people; they'll come for you; there will be huge consequences. Because I am very worried about posting my thoughts, creating and formatting these posts. I thought to immediately stop everything, delete that I had failed again. There were positive reactions, and I relaxed, and I started thinking about other posts that I wanted to do tomorrow.

That's what I wanted to say. There is a post on my page in which I said that I was just learning how to use tumblr. I don't quite understand publication etiquette yet. When making my posts, I used one gif that I found on my phone (I don't even know where I saved it from, from which social network) and I made one myself, but when I made a post about the Red Bull Ring, I inserted a link, as I took it directly from their page.

I'm writing all this to show how "rookie on tumblr" behaves. On your part, you're trying to restore justice, but from my side, it looks like a reproach. I was born in the year of the rabbit. I'm scared and uncomfortable right now. If you just said, "Hi, this gif was made by this wonderful person, it's not good to publish it without the author's signature," I think we would all feel better.

Please be kinder to the people starting their journey here. Guide us, help us fix mistakes, and don't try to shame us.

Tumblr Etiquettes

Hey everyone, if you are new to Tumblr, don't worry, we got many posts to help you navigate your way in this hellsite. Hope you enjoy your journey with us and I hope you come back again :D

Anyway, Tumblr etiquettes:

1. Old posts

We on Tumblr doesn't care if you scroll until our oldest posts ever (yes even posts from almost 2 decades ago), it just shows us that YOU enjoy our contents. Think of it as a mutual relationship where you get to tell others the type of content you like (and get new friends who also like that content) and the person you reblog from get happiness

2. DNIs

DNI (do not interact for those who don't know) are sacred here. If a blog have a DNI, please read it and follows the DNI. If you are not sure if you fit the DNI, you can ask about it (s long as you are respectful, most blog will explain the DNI further)

3. Blocking someone

Blocking isn't some taboo thing here. You don't like someone or their content, block them. You hate their pfp, block. Ugly username, b l o c k. You can literally use any reason to block someone and they won't even care about it

3a) Discourse, cancel culture, hates and others

In Tumblr we curate our own contents. What that means is, if you dislike something, you don't send hate or make a discourse or cancel them or other things, you just don't interact with them and block that content or the blog. Trust me, doing that in this site, you will get ridiculed and we will laugh at you and make jokes about it

3b) Tagging

Tags are quite important in here. It is how your posts gets around as people will search what they are interested in using tags (It is also a whole other etiquettes). But in this post, I'm going to talk about how blocking and tags works together. In Tumblr you can block tags (you can do this in the settings). Blocking tags are used to hide the contents you dislike or triggering posts so please tag your posts properly (for example, if your posts have abuse, tag it with abuse (I will show it in this post tag too)). Also don't cross tag as it is annoying and might lead to you getting block by others

4. Bots

Bots are annoying creatures that lurks in this site (if you stay long enough, you will get at least one bot follower). If you have met one, just block, report and move on. Also, if you are new, change your blog so we don't mistake you as bots. If you are not sure if your blog is considered to be a bot, here's my posts on how to NOT be mistaken as a bot

5. Reblogs vs Likes

Tumblr doesn't really have an algorithm. How posts travel in this site is by reblogging posts that you like. We love getting reblogs as it shows that you like our contents and wants to share it to other people too (we see how good a post is doing by their reblogs, the more reblogs it gets, the better). This applies doubles for artists. If you want to support your favourite Tumblr art blogs and don't have money to commission them or just want to let other people know, reblog their posts as it will get around to others (I'm saw a post on the reblogging web line of posts a few months back, I will link it if I can find it again).
