Can we hear your thoughts on Leona! Yutu?

Since Leona died fighting the Phantom, Yutu obviously wouldn't have met him, and I'm wondering about your ideas between what Leona became after NRC, how the loss of Yuu affected him, Leona's death, and Yutu's opinion of him before and after meeting him. I had an errant idea of Leona having Died a Hero's Death and then when Yutu meets him it's like, "THIS is the guy my parent was willing to spend the rest of their life with???"

Anyway yeah. As a Leona Simp, I would much appreciate anything you write.

Does he like cats... you know I have always sort of seen Leona has having a petty rivalry with Grim because he thinks he should be the King Cat, so the image of Leona! Yutu lying in a field with a bunch of cats is sort of a perfect contrast. I like it: Leona! Yutu absolutely loves cats and they love him.

Leona and and his position in the kingdom's line of succession... Based off my understanding of what we see in the Tashmina event I think the Savanna would prioritize protecting their royal family over a lot, something that pissed Leona off. He went to fight the King of Beast's phantom because he saw it as a problem he made and that he needed to take responsibility for sure, but also because he had no faith in his brother to do anything meaningful about it. I want to say that his brother wanted to enshrine Leona as a hero for his sacrifice, but that this decision was very unpopular with his advisors so he was buried in the Elephant Graveyard without much fanfare. He is an extremely popular figure with the hyenas, as is Ruggie. They see him as restoring the Kingdom's honor in a way by defeating the false king, something no other country in the apocalypse can claim, but things are still rough since they can't rely on tourism anymore and the blot has been making the weather really unpredictable, leading to bad harvests and starving people.

If Yuu was Leona's... losing them wouldn't have a noticeable affect on him but it was a massively crushing blow. We know he hates his unique magic because turning things to sand is a curse in the Savanna, but did it really have to be his own family this time? The family he got in spite of himself, the one fucking person who chose him no matter how much he snapped at them and tried to convince them to see him for what he was; a worthless dead end that would only hurt them. And what's worse is he knows that whoever took them had his brother's cooperation.

"Couldn't let me have this one fucking thing could you?" He's laughing as he says it and not even the irritation in his sister in law's eyes makes him back down. "Stuff it. I ain't stupid enough for whatever line you got fed and I don't care about your justifications. You're gonna have to live with this one on your own, Falena. Just like I have to."

He refuses to talk to his other family after that. No matter who is asking or making demands, taking Yuu and Yutu away from him is just one step too far. His brother probably thought that Yuu would be allowed to come home and that's why he let them go, but that's not exactly an excuse Leona would be willing to accept from anyone, let alone the supposed leader of a state. He almost feels relived when the blot phantoms start wreaking things, Leona might just want to sleep until you come to wake him up again but fighting things gives him an excuse to get his mind off things. Dying is a relief, he doesn't have to deal with Idia's whining or living without you any longer than he already has. His only regret is that he had to take Ruggie with him.

I really love this fanart and head cannon fima11 had of Leona's hair being light when he was born, and the color getting darker as he grows, so the idea of something similar happening with Leona! Yutu when he's born is really sweet. Leona's hair sort of resembles a mane, it'd be cute if Leona! Yutu's did the same. And genetics are already so weird I don't think any earth doctors would like too much of it.

Leona! Yutu is a sleepy boy. His hobby is napping and his favorite place in the whole wide world is his bed. He has a bad habit of laying face first in his pillows because he snores pretty loudly and he doesn't want to wake anyone up, which sort of makes him look like he has passed out as opposed to just settled down for a good snooze.

Because he is being raised by a single parent in the human world and not a bunch of gossipy servants hired by emotionally neglectful royalty, Yutu is significantly less entitled than Leona is. He has good sense with his money and can work hard, he just has a bit of a problem with resting bitch face that leaves people thinking he is rude. And to be fair? If someone is testing his patience then he really can be. Apple didn't fall far from the tree, Yutu is absolutely brutal when people test his patience.

Yuu's memories of Leona don't exactly help with his perceived behavior problems, they recall Leona's catty personality and how rude he could be, but that he was so remarkably clever and so very strong, that they were in awe of him sometimes. I think they would mention that he struggled with depression due to a difficult upbringing and feel a need to make sure Yutu felt appreciated and like he could do anything he set his mind to, no matter who he was born as. Yutu just takes that to mean that being a bitch runs in the family and he fully intends to ride that excuse to the bank.

It's a nice thought but Yutu feels a bit conflicted by it. He has no doubt that Yuu will always love and support him, but other people? Yuu might be able to ignore what their neighbors say about them but Yutu can hear them loud and clear. They think Yuu's amnesia is an act, and that he's a weirdo freak. Not to mention they don't have any money so even if he wanted to be a doctor or something like that going to school would be a bit of a pain, even with his grades. He finds school to be boring, and even when he gets bullied by one of the coaches in to taking up a sport because of how strong he is it doesn't help much.

I could see him being very into space and astronomy because he feels like he doesn't belong in your world. He knows a lot of downright stupid stuff about UFO sightings and aliens even though he doesn't believe in them. He is SO DISAPPOINTED when Twisted Wonderland turns out to have no conspiracy theories to talk about, can't think the moon landing was faked if you never had one after all. If the world wasn't literally ending he would be pushing for the Sunset Savanna to win the space race, c'mon guys it is in our name everything the light touches totally expands to the stars-

Like the other beastmen Yutus he maintains his instincts, even in your world. He is extremely territorial about his things and especially your home. Like Cater! Yutu, he has strong feelings of nostalgia for your world, but unlike him it has nothing to do with the monsters or hardships. Lions just tend to stay in the same place for a long time so moving to entirely different world and ecosystem makes him feel weird, even if he prefers his beastfolk body to his human one.

Gets put in Savanaclaw by the mirror. He might like space but his preferred type of argument is rearranging someone's dental work before asking them to explain themselves. He'd be terrible at defending a thesis.

Leona! Yutu's place in the Sunset Savanna hierarchy is tricky. I think, as Yutu is his brother's child, Falena would want some sort of relationship with him as he does clearly love his brother. What makes that hard is that as far as the government is concerned, Leona is dead and that's the end of his part of the family line. Acknowledging that he had a son could further destabilize the already tense political situation in the Savanna since Leona's sacrifice is already a point of conflict between the royal family and a portion of their people. While Crewel has no problem telling Yutu about his father since he has a right to know, the fact that he is technically a prince is completely hidden from him for a long time.

We haven't really played with this idea yet, but I sort of like Leona having a ghost that hangs around his grave sometimes. Idia arranges for Yutu to go there on a day he thinks he'll be hanging around and while Yutu doesn't get to talk to his father he does get to see him and the look of pride in his eyes when the grumpy lion realizes who he is. Leona gets to pass on and be with Yuu while Yutu gets a lesson from his cousin about the concept of the great Kings living on in the sky and how the past lives on in him. Because while Cheka understand his dad's concerns like hell is he not going to meet his favorite cousin. His enthusiasm is really exhausting to Yutu, he appreciates the fact that someone has nice things to say about his dad but he isn't too sure how much he trusts this guy.

Oh right one more thing, I don't want to say each of the Savanaclaw boys would pass their magic on to their Yutu's so if we ever get around to Jack he won't, but Leona should pass on King's Roar to his kid. Causing a drought might be considered a curse but I want to say Leona! Yutu wears it with pride. He loves his roar and that despite all the effort put in to erasing Leona from existence he still lives in him. His head is fit to wear the crown, no matter what anyone says.

Leona clocks what Yutu is the instant he steps out of the portal. It's all in the kid's scent and what runes he used to make the jump. He takes some time to think about what it could mean and comes to a few conclusions. Firstly, if he has a kid with you then he will always have some sort of relationship with you, no not in the yandere possessive way (mostly), he just knows enough about himself and his wants to know that having a kid would not be something he did by accident. If he did that at some point in the future it would be because you were going to stay with him forever and he actually believed that. Something that clearly did not get to happen because of how protective Yutu is of his parent.

Yutu was a bit confused if he should go about interacting with his dad or even ask about him so you can imagine his surprise when he stops by Ramshackle to see Leona half asleep on the couch.

Leona doesn't outright say he knows he's his dad, but Yutu gathers that's probably the case from the difference in his attitude around him compared to everyone else. There's a degree of coldness and severity to Leona when he's giving orders that really isn't present when he's talking to him about overblots or his theories about who is responsible for the bad future. He's almost playful about it, like he is messing with a cub. Which Yutu supposes that he is but still, he doesn't like being treated like a kid. Something he very much regrets telling Leona because holy shit his dad is strong just like Yuu said he was.

I think Leona would make him play chess against him a lot. You can learn a lot about a person by playing chess with them, and since it's something Leona really likes to do he would enjoy sharing it with his son. I think he would also get a kick out of seeing Yutu get really competitive with him about it. Maybe there is some lion in this kid after all.

Leona also makes a subtle effort to teach him about how the court of the Sunset Savanna works. I think Leona would sort of enjoy the fact that his kid didn't grow up as royalty just because it meant he was free of the pressures that he had, but hate everything else he learned about Yutu's childhood. It inspires him to think a bit deeper about how he is going to address this when Yutu is born in this timeline, though he is admittedly lacking on solutions beyond refusing to die this time. He must have been really far gone to even consider making a heroic sacrifice that's not like him at all.

He does get the appeal of his father sort of? Sure he's lazy, but he is extremely intelligent and clearly a lot more knowledgeable about literally everything than Yutu thought he was. When they're working together he sees a very impressive person and reliable leader. When he sees Leona interact with you he has questions. Why do you let him pick fights with you so often? Yutu can tell he's making heart eyes at how you fight back but that's because he's a beatman himself so he can read his body language. And he's not crazy about how he orders you around because if his father is a Prince... wouldn't that mean by marrying him you would also be royalty? He is so confused...

Meanwhile Leona isn't rushing things just because he knows you return his feelings at some point. He wants you to choose to be with him of your own free will, wants the feeling that comes with knowing you did that and he is willing to play the game to get that. Every milestone he reaches is so much sweeter for knowing that he got you on his efforts alone, crappy attitude and all.

The reveal to Yuu, much like the reveal to Yutu is extremely mundane. Leona invites you to spend the night with him sometime after you get together and he asks you while you're curled up on his chest and he's holding you just a bit too tight (not because he's afraid you'll run, not at all) how you would feel if you could never go home.

"A little upset." Because you had resigned yourself to the possibility a long time ago now. There's a chance you're only in Twisted Wonderland because you died in your world anyway, might as well be grateful you're still kicking. "And if you stayed and things went bad here, would you still be alright with that?" You don't hesitate at all to his surprise. "I think I'd be safe if I was with you." Well he really hates to prove you wrong but you still deserve to know.

Leona is weirdly quiet in his anger. He roars sure, but that's to exert control. When he's mad he just gets smug and says a lot of hurtful stuff. He leaves the screaming to Yuu, and I could see a Yuu that got with Leona only to learn they didn't get to spend the rest of their life with him doing a lot of screaming. Preventing the apocalypse is a team effort now but first Yutu and Leona are getting scolded for not letting Yuu in on the secret sooner. Leona is down bad horrendous and Yutu wants to die, he hates making you mad.

If I had to make a list of characters I would trust to find a solution to an apocalypse, Leona would actually be pretty close to the top. He is going to bitch about it the entire way, but if he were given the facts before things went too sideways, I think he would be able to make a good plan to set them straight. And there is no way anyone is going to tell him that he managed to have something as precious to him as Yuu taken away from him and not have him do something about it. He'll swallow his pride and take his licks when he has to, but not on this. Never on this, whoever thought he'd just roll over and die is going to shatter in his hands and be like dust on the wind. He really hopes they have enough sense to be prepared....

In which Jason was lying at the end of BiB and was not back to normal and is still some kind of alien tentacle monster and Jason and Tim and I get to be freaks about it

We Are One clone AU

So you know how most clone plots end up with the doppleganger trying to take over the other's life and someone has to choose the real one? What if the clone and the 'real one' decided they could share actually and were complete freaks about it?

In this one Jason dies and comes back to life as per usual, except he ALSO gets cloned by someone who doesn't want Bruce to go through the horrors of a dead son. Which then means that there is a very literal replacement Jason hanging around living the life Jason would have had if he didn't die. They fight for a while but then decide that actually, they both have equal claim to this life.

So they decide to get like insanely weird with it! They take turns carving their scars into each other and telling each other every last detail of their lives and memorizing each other's verbal ticks so that they can just... pretend they are one singular person. Forever. Every day they swap which of them is doing outside things and which is doing the indoor cooking/cleaning/resting. It's a drastic improvement in quality of life for both Jasons simply due to the fact that they now actually rest a lot, and get adequate time to heal from all their injuries. They take this as a sign that they were incomplete without each other and get Even Weirder About It.

A secondary fic would feature Dick's POV as it gets revealed that for the passed five years, his younger brother has been two different people who are continuing to insist that they are one singular person even now that they're both in the same room together, and Dick can't figure out if they're trying to gaslight him or if this is some kind of ritualistic mutual cult reinforcement thing that they've used to gaslight each other into genuinely believing it's true. They talk in unison for upwards of an hour without either flubbing anything, but there's no psychics involved so they have to have just practiced that shit which is actually a thousand times scarier than there being something supernatural about them. Also Dick's pretty sure they're gonna murder him if they realize he's taken blood samples and knows that one is a clone.

Both this one and the BiB Hive King AU originally started out as Chained chapters, with Jason from Chained having been the one to ensure Hive King Jason got to stay a tentacle monster and the one to convince clone Jason and birth Jason that they both had equal right to their life. (And that since both of them already knew who the clone was, the only thing they were really fighting over was the affection of their family - something neither of them had any control over and which neither of them was ever going to get. Might as well each focus on loving themself.) I'm def keeping the Hive King one as a Chained cameo thing, not so sure about keeping this one.

i personal feel that this the problem a lot us are probably facing and thinking. i feel this is a topic to be discussed rather than saying "you have it now, the 4D is the only thing that matters, 3D is a reflection... blah blah blah". we should also consider the people who's struggling and suffering from serious mental health issues even though they know the LAW OF ASSUMPTION.

let's say they want to manifest good grade and their test is tomorrow they have nothing prepared so they just 'try' to manifest, claim it and sustain in that assumption and the next day they go to school with full hope and they doesn't know a single thing in that paper and yep they get a bad grade and get discouraged. i know i know, you be like circumstances don't matter it's because that is what you assume. if they were so passionate and hopeful about that why did they get a bad grade? many of them haven't even manifested a thing so far they get easily discouraged and give up. then they be like "let me revise it" and nothing is happening again, this shit is going on loop.

WE NEED TO STOP THIS SHIT!

the blogs and stuffs say that the 4D is real and the 3D is not important it's just a reflection. let's say your bills are due in an hour or so days and you gonna pay the 4D money? hell nah. what's the point of having it in the 4D if you're homeless and your stomach is empty. you say manifestation is instant, if it is so why isn't my assumptions not hardened into facts? we assume a lot of things and not seeing them get real pisses us off.

now let's take an example, i want a complete 360 turn of my entire life like nothing is same as before. i want to be in a different country, have different name, have different job, have different appearance, have different personalities, have different friends, have different family ...... everything is just different. and then I assume like "okay, I'm going to count to ten and when it reaches one when i open my eyes my reality is completely changed" (assumed) and then i do that and nothing changed and i gave up.

this is what is happening for a lot of us and it's even harder when they're a beginner to concious manifesting or haven't consciously manifested anything before on will.

as someone who has personally struggled with mental health i can only give you advice & what i’ve personally done. it is truly up to you about what you’ll do.

when i first discovered into the law i wasn’t happy. i was having the worst times of my life, therefore (and i feel like a lot of us have been through this too) we attach ourselves to the law. we see it as the light to a brand new world and we depend on it to save us. we give all this power away to the law that we forget to shine light on our roles, and how we are the ones that actually have the power.

when struggling i wanted joy- and joy for me was something large, something bold, something outstandingly amazing when actually joy can mean having a cup of hot chocolate with a few extra marshmallows than usual. joy can mean opening the window and just letting the wind past you by. listening to old songs that played a part in my life and evoking all those feelings again.

so please take care of your mental health in the way that feels comfortable be to you. in the way that feels right to you, we cant continue to abandon ourselves when we’re struggling.

and im not saying that it’ll be easy. i struggled so much when i was releasing the pain of my past, releasing the pain of what i was currently going through. but i still did it. it didn’t hurt to try.

okay now lets move onto manifesting but before that can i just say something that irks me a little?

idk anything about you or personal circumstances but its such a common trend on here (and other loa spaces) to see people be like “okay but what if i was homeless???/what if i was in an extremely toxic environment” and it pisses me off to see people use serious issues prove a point. its so unnecessary. homelessness etc are your not your points to use against manifesting blogs

The "Feeling free" convo was my favourite part of the trailer. Honestly so far it looks like the show is exactly what I expected. Them bringing cameras, and som staff ofc, on semi spontaneous trips where they could just enjoy fun activities and each other's company before enlistment. A little escape in between their busy schedules. And they look so happy😭 That's the best part. All we could ever ask for is to see them this happy <3 Of course it's not a private trip, because they did choose to share this with us and make it into a show, it's two birds one stone. But anyone calling it just a work trip is so far off. You can tell how much this meant to them personally, and how excited they are about sharing footage with army. I might be going into delulu territory here but... I also kinda think them being so excited to gift this to us is partly because they feel very loved and validated when fans are supportive and excited over seeing them together and appreciating their special bond. I'm sure no matter how they define their relationship is it's nice to see. I don't know how much they see of fans reactions to stuff, especially not now while serving, but in the past too, it honestly seems like they love their jikook loving fans a lot. I hope they see all the love and as little negativity as possible.

also solos and shippers bending over backwards to pit them against each other, claim they're being forced into things, they're not actually close, all that bullshit, would honestly be hilarious if it wasn't so sad. like.... stay pressed stay miserable while they're out here sharing their happy vibes with those who get it like the unbothered kings they are byeee

I agree with everything you said but I wanna take it a step further...it was a 'work' trip in that they knew this was going to be streamed on one of the biggest entertainment streaming platforms owned by one of the biggest companies on earth (disney). but their work is not the same as an office job or a retail job, they are artists and sharing their life, emotions, experiences through their art in multiple mediums is what they do. for example GCF in Tokyo was technically 'work' because jk ended up posting the video on a 'work' platform but clearly they were not doing what anyone considers as work in Japan. I think their trips for are you sure are similar in nature, just with the added factor of them knowing that it will go on disney+.

what I think we don't talk about enough is the context around these trips and 2023. jikook were not seeing each other as much as they're used to, that much is for sure. prior to 2023 they not only worked together but spent loads of time together outside of work which was their choice. then chapter 2 begun and jimin was working on his solo album(s) which meant that jikook were not spending the same amount of time together. take romance out of the equation and even then not seeing your best friend you're using to seeing everyday for 10 years must have been hard, especially as they don't exactly have a 'normal' life so I would argue as friends they are closer than usually friends are. we also have to take into account that while working on their solo material, they were working with many people, many new people as well, and jungkook was basically surrounded by people who were not korean and that must have been tough. like if you go spend a day in another country where you have to interact with people in another language for a whole day that's exhaustingggg af. that's why I'm glad they could do their trips between actual work. it must have been a big relief that they can spend time together again and do fun stuff which they wanted to before enlisting anyway.

I think they appreciate their bond being appreciated by us for sure. I have a (semi) delulu theory that when jimin used to post jungkook photos on twitter all the time it was because it bothered him when people would say that they're not close. when jungkook talked about doing something that we will really look forward to which we now know was their travel show, I think he meant it 100%. he only considers fans to be people who enjoy seeing jikook together and who support the content they make together.

2023 to me was very much about bts doing what they themselves want to do more than what the company wants them to do and I think it has to do with them signing new contracts, getting more say in what goes on within the company etc. in the soop friendcation is a good example. from a business point of view, was that a good move? I would argue not. tae filming with his friends who have nothing to do with bts is arguably not the greatest money-generator idea (I assume the wooga squad got paid too). it was clearly something tae wanted to do himself that the company agreed to. and that's what's funny because he could've done it with jk if he wanted (same as taekook could've enlisted together if they wanted to) and the company would've been all over that idea because of $$$ in their eyes. I always said it makes no sense that the company doesn't capitalise on jikook's chemistry and how they can work together so well and they love to do it as well. I still don't know why they didn't but it's probably to do with the aversion towards subunits within bts that comes from somewhere ??? but in 2023, when they were all doing what they wanted, we got jungkook going on lives being more himself than ever before, asking for jimin, reacting to jimin content, mentioning jimin and chatting with him when jimin was in chat, all of that, and then we got jikook travelling to 3 different places to film basically their holidays together. and yes taekook hung out too but that's not a big shock to anyone honestly. I think the private discussion is funny because it's so naive of people to think that jikook never saw each other in 2023. they most likely did but that was in private😂so obviously we don't know about it😭

when certain fandom actors call are you sure a work trip they do it because they want the underlying assumption that work means not genuine to come across and it's funny cause they want to act like because it was being filmed it wasn't something jikook did because they wanted to, when it was. they were having fun ffs not sitting in the same office writing emails all day long. they genuinely wanted to spend time together and they did.

the problem for these people is that the travel show is not a taekook show, let's be really bloody honest here. any shippers, not just taekook, would DIE to have a show like this from their ship, just like how they'd die to have their ship enlist together. jikook do stuff I've not seen any other 'ship' do and that's why people are so mad. as usual they want for their ship what jikook have together.

I'm not saying are you sure is going to be making some kinda statement because I doubt that but just the fact that they wanted to do this together says a lot. btw I'm half expecting for them to start on the 'they wouldn't have done this travel show and let their holidays be filmed if they were dating' agenda just like how they're now saying that couples don't enlist together even though they were wishing for years that taekook will enlist together lol

Goblin Destroyer: How the Internet Revived an Obscure Local Band

This is something that suddenly appear in my mind when I was waiting for a public transport near my campus but like ... Stardew Valley's aesthetic looks like they're in the 90s in rural Northern America/Western Europe (though still cmiiw since I don't live in neither of those regions).

So then I thought about Sam's band and the real life band called "Panchiko" where the internet basically rebirth this band. (If you want to know about the band, here's a video)

And I randomly think about some kids somewhere in the SDV-verse came across Sam's band's LP (I'm gonna go with Goblin Destroyer) and asked online forums about it but none got anything so far. Doesn't help the fact that the LP was credited only with their first names which are very very common names. The names in the back of the LP only says Abigail, Sam, and Sebastian with their roles which are drummer, guitarist/vocalist, and keyboardist/synth in that order.

OP then gave more information, like how the label seemed to be from either the late 90s or early 00s and it was obvious that they were from the Republic of Ferngill. Small problem though, Ferngill Republic is not a small place. Sure, it's not a big country, but it's still going to be hard to find the people who contributed to this record, especially since it was decades long. Regardless, this was a step forward. 

I personally think they would not take too long (like Panchiko irl) because of my personal headcanon of Sebastian being chronically online even to his fourties.

The forum was very popular with many tried to remaster their songs or figure out just who they were. So then Sebastian rolled around and was like, "Holy fuck, I can't believe you found a copy of this. Thought they threw them all away in Zuzu City back in '98."

AND PEOPLE WERE SHOCKED AND ASKED IF THIS USER HAS A CLEANER COPY BUT THEN HE WAS LIKE, "lmao I'm the Sebastian credited in the back of the LP. Sadly, no. I do not have the cleaner copy, but I think my husband do keep some in his previous house when we still lived in the Valley."

Obviously, people were skeptical because the internet lies a lot. But they still gave him the benefit of the doubt because this was more information than they previously tried to dig. It was true that Goblin Destroyers were from Ferngill, specifically Zuzu City, and it was correct that they were from the late 90s.

Few months went by without a follow-up so most people just brush him off as hoax because that's what they usually did to lost media, claimed to know and kept it somewhere but unattainable for some reason.

That is, until another user joined the forum and introduced himself as Sebastian's husband who has the cleaner copy back in his old home. The husband was apparently, a very important piece in the band because he was none other than Sam -- another name crossed off the list.

Sam apologized and claimed that it took him longer to find than he expected and to compensate, he and Sebastian did a digital remaster for the LP and will put it to streaming services alongside their previously unreleased tracks.

With the band finally found, some questions arrived. Most of the questions were about Abigail, the drummer of the band, and also about them in general. The only things they knew so far were that Goblin Destroyer was a prog metal band from the late 90s, Ferngill, and that two out of the three members are married to each other.

The two claimed that they had no idea where Abigail was; the last time they saw her was when they still lived in their hometown. Sebastian then mentioned that she joined something called "The Adventurer's Guild", and one of the last things they did together was go to the forest and watch Abigail's improved swordsmanship. That was almost twenty years ago. They just hope that wherever she is, she's alive and well because she was their best friend.

They then ended the forum with pictures of them when they were young and some band photoshoots, needless to say that social media will be filled with their pics for a few months or so because of how attractive they were. The couple also added a recent pic and well, they're still handsome as hell.

It took them a while to finally return as a band; they were not the young adults in a small town who were bored and annoyed with how their parents coddled them anymore. They are middle-aged with a family and jobs, so yeah, it took a while for them to perform again. Eventually, though, they were back as a band. At least a duo for a few months, releasing a new single after twenty years.

Goblin Destroyer did not tour or participate in any music festivals until they were hit by a surprise, Abigail finally returned to the band. She revealed that she's been busy with the guild for over twenty years and is a mentor, so she was so out of touch with the news. She also revealed that she figured out that they went viral through her mentee, who told her about it.

Finally, the band was back in business. This was the dream that Sam had thrown away, and to actually have it tenfold decades later was exhilarating, to say the least.

I have so many other ideas with my au, that it's straying very far from the original concept. So I'm gonna talk about some of it, because, I felt like :) and I will eventually draw it. So I'm just gonna be rant about my ideas, at least the ones I'm not too lazy to write about lol.

So a bit of a rant below:

Mostly of Felix x Lila

And some spelling and grammar mistakes.

Anyways, Felix's design is all over the place in my head. But he's supposed to be looking like Lila's superior ( because he is. ) He's still gonna be wearing so much black lol.

And I fully intend on making Lila Italian. But she just was raised in " empire". Many people notice that she looks a lot different than what the other people did, but she didn't seem to mind too much.

Basically, Lila is an orphan. She didn't know who her family was, and what was even her name. So, she often traveled around the desolate streets in search of money or something. Many people helped her out ( cute kid duh), they were shocked that she didn't even have a name and named her all sorts of different names. Each name didn't mean much to her, and she just used it lie.

( I also have a reason for why she names herself as " Lila" but it's somewhat edgy, and I'm planning on making a short comic about it.)

Anyways, long story short she's an orphan. She lies about that to everyone though. And often claims that she's from a small yet noble family. Most people believe her ( *cough* kagami), except Felix. He's kinda done with her lies, but stays with her. The formal reason is because his dear uncle asked him to look after her.. but really he's curious about her.

I'm planning on keeping Felix, kagami and Adrian as sentimonsters. But have Felix and kagami be at least somewhat aware. All his life Felix has always been by the books, and following whatever order his father or superiors tell him. He's gotten so good at obeying and killing it's second nature to him. ( And I feel like he would be a sniper guy lol) It's a breath of fresh air, when he mets Lila.

Lila finds a way to bend the rules and commands in the most perfect way so that they would benefit her, and if it doesn't she simply won't do it. That's something Felix never really seen, since his most close friend other than his mother or Adrian is kagami who is exactly like him.

In this au, due to how perfectly " obedient" Felix is. He's called the " empire's dog", which is supposed to be a menacing title. But Lila takes that opportunity to make fun of him, and make "dog" jokes.

Since Lila was an orphan living in the slums of a war like country, she's had absolutely nothing to lose. That's why she's such a monster in that au, and why she likes to screw with Felix. Sure she's a complete Liar, but she's not just lying to be popular. She's doing it to live comfortably.

Felix is very good at observing, and he notices how her lies don't match up. Like how she claims to taste very fancy food, yet fawns over every dessert they have. Felix can tell she's.. not what she's saying she is. But doesn't expose her.

I made this romance not only because I like the ship, but it works well enough in my au.

Felix is somewhat relieved that she doesn't confuse him with Adrian ( they never met lol), and finds her fascinating and somewhat adorable.

While Lila never had actual friends before, or even a real family. But every time he protects her from certain death ( with how much Lila provokes people, it becomes way too common ). And genuinely sees her, as her. He sees past her lies, and sees.. well her. All her life she makes sure to give everyone what they want to see.. so it's very unnerving and interesting Felix is to Lila. Since no matter what lie she makes, Felix finds a way to prove the truth.

They're both monsters, yet they find a sense of care with each other. They both have committed heinous acts, each with a reason why. But they both know that their sins won't be forgiven so easily. So, they enjoy it while they can. The power and the luxury, at least that's what Lila plans to do and Felix will follow.

Sure they're not entirely sure how loyal or likely each one is to stab them it the back. But they find solitude with each other. Knowing that they can be monsters together.

i really do not get all the hatred sonamy fans get in the sonic fandom.

so are all other ship fandoms. i've had experience with toxic shippers of other ships. but you won’t see me generalizing the ship's fandom over them. every ship has its fair share of toxic fans. so why is it that only sonamy fans get all the heat for being toxic? i'm not denying that there are bad eggs in our fandom but i don't think its fair yo act like we're a special breed of toxic. i've seen fans of other ships with r*pe on amy yet people don't use them to generalize the whole ship's fandom.

in the 2000s-2010s, maybe we did have a lot of fans who thoight that way. but nowadays whenever sonamy fans claim its canon, its always done in a joking way. its what fans lf literally every other ship do. i've seen people jokingly say "x ship is canon" because character a looked at character b funny. but no one ever attacks them for it. so why is it that only we get attacked when a lot of the time we aren't even serious?? we KNOW our ship will never actually be canon. we KNOW sega has no intention of changing their dynamic as of now. we're just having fun with the moments we're given. especially in recent media. why do y'all froth at the mouth over that. don't like it? just ignore and block.

and to be honest? as sonamy is now, it can be considered semi canon. like, give me a platonic explanation of the "amy, i should've made up my mind sooner" line in frontiers. IF sega decides to make them a couple, their dynamic still won't change. it'll still be very subtle except they're actually a couple now and you won't even notice it. and even then no one's stopping you from liking other ships. and if they are, well the block button exists for a reason.

"but the fanfics-"

i have my beef with old sonamy fanfics. but i have a feeling the people who made them were young kids and teenagers. i'll bet a lot of them have grown up now and have better things to do in life. now i hardly see any sonamy fanfic that villainizes sally or makes sonic an asshole for the sake of angst. the more extreme shippers from the 2000s-early 2010s should not be used to judge shippers today.

imagine if i used the sonadow shippers i encountered in 2014 deviantart, who were mostly allocishet girls who shipped them because they fetishized gay men, made both of them extremely ooc (anyone remember the terms seme and uke?), and of course hated amy for getting in the way of their ship, to judge the sonadow shippers of today who are now mostly mellow and enjoy their ship in peace, it wouldn't be fair now would it?

most of the ages in sonic make no sense! there's a line in sonic forces where infinite claims sonic has defeated eggman for decades, and sonic's only supposed to be 15. granted using sonic forces may not be the best example but it shows how little sega cares about the ages. and now they've even been renoved from sonic channel. AND even ian flynn himself has said not to worry about pairings like sonamy and knuxouge because there's nothing wrong with them.

and i KNOW people are gonna take this to mean "so shipping things like s0nt@ils is okay now??" no, because tails is still coded as a little kid. sonic and most of the cast are coded as teenagers.

there's people who ship tails and fiona, and that's an actual toxic ship with an actual problematic age gap. but they don't get half the heat that sonamy shippers get.

MY 2023 MEDIA ROUNDUP

I've read a lot of manga in 2023. I've watched some things in 2023. Here's my roundup of some of the best ones. Screenreader users I don't know how image ID descriptions work so I'm just gonna type out the text on the image.

Part 1 - Manga

There is no good manga that came out (or rather, started publication) in 2023. But here are some of my favourites that continued (or ended) publication.

Dungeon Meshi (ended publication) - An incredibly heartwarming story about family, adventure, and cuisine. Full of heart of traditional fantasy stories with an impeccable worldbuilding that accentuates its excellent characters.

Skip and Loafer (currently publishing) - Kindness and niceness doesn't always go hand in hand, but this story reminds you that everyone has the capacity for good. Its complex characters scheme, doubt themselves, keep secrets, confide in each other, tell jokes, keep busy, and do all the things that make them feel human and real.

Ikoku Nikki (ended publication) - Tearjerking, heartwrenching, cathartic. This story depicting life and grief makes me cry like no other, but it is not about sadness. It is about love, it is about awkwardness, it is about embarassment, it is about everything that keeps people going, that keeps us alive.

Medalist (currently publishing) - Something a bit different from the others, this is an underdog sports story, with wonderfully written characters and gorgeous art, it tells a story of grit, tenacity, and the hope that those feelings bring about. The main and deuteragonist characters are definite standouts at the cost of rather shallow side characters. Still, it's probably the best sports story in recent manga history, though.

The following are manga I read in 2023, but may be published earlier. Exercise caution as I'm too lazy to describe them.

Q.E.D. Shoumei Shuuryou - Case of the week mystery

I'm not gonna claim I'm a regular moviegoer. Here's my best two out of ten movies I watched from this year:

Killers of the Flower Moon - This was my first Scorcese film and it did not disappoint. The direction and acting kept me repulsed at all times. I applaud them for portraying such an utterly unlikable protagonist. Lily Gladstone rocked.

Oppenheimer - Nolan's style of editing adds to the chaos of the story. The quick, sudden cuts from all the concurrent plotlines really lends itself well to how the story plays out. Cillian Murphy slayed.

The Bear (Season 2) - People trying to live their best lives in the fine dining industry past their traumas and hardships. It is very stressful emotionally, but also really cathartic.

BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!!! - Five girls, each 'lost' in their own way, find solace and comfort in music and each other's company. Within this idol anime lies so much heart and passion, it's no wonder Bushiroad has released countless merch of them.

These ones are all from 2023, I just don't want to write abot them.

Succession (Season 4) - Thrilling conclusion to the four season saga of this royal fuck-up of a family taking the world possible path on every crossroads

Gundam: The Witch From Mercury (Season 2) - A horribly rushed but still good ending of the main couple's storyline (and Guel). I just wish it was a 39-episode anime with a movie

Skip and Loafer - Incredibly faithful adaptation that stays true to the original while improving upon the already excellent characters

Heavenly Delusion - This anime is just straight up a better delivery of the first four books of the manga

Overtake! - NYOOOOOM! Also, great character writing.

82. Can You Hear Me? [Houki, Abby, Clara, Miri]

Happy Last Day of July! This prompt got me to over 3000 words, so that was fun!

Raw, unedited writing down below the cut. This prompt features a lot of first meetings, surprisingly. We get -The aftermath of Houki meeting Nobunaga after the Honnouji rescue, -Abby feeling frustrated at Vincent's attention being elsewhere, -Clara rescuing Rio from the rain, and -Miri finding out about the Lucifer's little secret he keeps in the attic.

Other warnings include pregnancy in Abby's entry, Clara finding an almost dead Rio on the side of the road, which includes blood so there's that. Honnouji being on fire might be a warning? Nobunaga being his usual winning self might be a stronger-needed warning.

I'm also gonna be trying to include dividers by @/enchanthings as some of these got scene changes and I didn't want to confuse that with character changes. It's mainly an experiment, so we'll see how this goes and if I might want to include them in the future.

So, here we go!

Houki

"Hey, are you all right?" the armored man's voice said, kneeling beside her, "can you hear me?"

Houki's breaths were shallow and quick, coughs peppering in between them. Her chest was hurting too and her eyes stung. She sat on her knees after calming herself and looked at her surroundings.

This… was not Vail Isle. She couldn't recognize any of her surroundings. Where even was here?

She coughed again and rubbed her eyes. She certainly wasn't dreaming, not with how her chest aches or the armored man's hand felt on her back.

"Where... am I?" Her voice was hoarse and sore. "Is this... Vail Isle?"

"Huh?" The armored man looked confused. "Vail Isle?"

"I'm supposed to be there... For the summit meeting... to be a representative for Jiyel."

"What are you talking about?"

Houki looked at the armored man, confused green eyes meeting with perplexed carnelian ones.

"The Seven Year Summit? Where all the nations send Seven representatives to Vail Isle to..."

The armored man still looked puzzled as she trailed off, Houki's eyes growing wider in realization.

"I have never heard of such places," said the armored man. "Nor have I heard of any summit meetings taking place."

"But… it's true." Houki said, "I was an observer for the boat races, then the storm started so suddenly and…"

She looked around again, noting that she couldn't see the sea, or really any body of water big enough for a ship, close enough for her story to be believable anyway. The skies were also clear, if cloudy because of the rising smoke fumes. No signs of recent rain, going or coming, at all, despite the evidence of rain drops on her silk sleeves alongside the singed edges.

Well… this was an interesting development. One with horrifying implications.

"I'm… not on Vail Isle anymore…" Houki said quietly.

"No, we are at Honnouji." the armored man explained, as if it wasn't still on fire behind them. "To think they would manage to kill all the guards and come this close…"

The armored man faced her again, looking her up and down, assessing her head to toe.

"It seems I owe you my life, strange woman. You are a foreigner, right? Are you with the Nanban?"

"Nanban?"

"The other foreigners? What do they call themselves? Dutch? Portuguese? Spanish? Priests and merchants, they claim. Traders. That sound familiar?"

Houki shook her head no.

"No… none of those."

"Hmm… might be addled in the head then."

Houki frowned deeply.

"Do not look so angry. You know who I am at least, I assume?"

"..Well, no, I do not know."

"You saved me without knowing even that? You're even more addled than I thought!" He laughed, his smiling looking sinister. He then pressed a hand to his chest.

"I am the Lord of Azuchi Castle and Daimyo of Owari, Oda Nobunaga, and I am the one who is going to unify this country."

Houki felt she was correct in her original assessment of the man, Oda Nobunaga, in that he was someone important based on his armored clothes, but it seems she had saved an important lord. One with a big ego, by the look of things.

Still, she was in the presence of another noble, so she figured she'd at least be polite. She bowed her head respectfully.

"It is an honor to meet you, Lord Oda. I am Lady Houki of Jiyel, a scholar sent to be a representative of Jiyel in the Seven Year Summit."

"A lady scholar?" he laughed again, "stranger and stranger you become."

Houki pushed her glasses up her nose, hiding the sigh that threatened to spill past her lips.   

Abby

"Can you hear me? It's your papa."

It was a phrase Abby had heard frequently over the last few months, usually accompanied by Vincent's hands pressing gently into her belly. He had taken to doing this little habit ever since finding out about their little one growing inside of her, even in the early stages where any sign of life was minute, at best. It still didn't stop Vincent from putting his hands on her belly while she was cooking or the number of times she's woke up from sleeping and her shirt was pulled up, his hand hovering.

Truth be told, though Vincent had been just as loving towards her, she felt the tiniest bit of jealousy when he was paying more attention to their baby than he was to her. A horrible thought, she scolded herself, but she couldn't help the feeling after today.

She hadn't been feeling particularly great that day, but she chalked up to her usual complaints: a sore back and needing to pee for the thousandth time that day, not to mention her favorite pair of shorts she wanted to wear to the appointment finally didn't fit her anymore, nor did many of her other clothes.

Vincent tried to comfort her as she looked at herself in the mirror, shorts unbuttoned and unzipped, her five and a half month belly hanging out over the waistband. His hand was smoothing her shirt down for her, stretched tighter than it had been a few days prior.

"They're growing so fast, Schatje." Vincent said gently, his hand, once again, on her belly.

"Y-yeah." She put her hand on top of his, not pulling him away but to squeeze his hand, to alleviate the twinge of jealousy she felt. "And we get to see them today, kind of."

"Through the sonogram, right?" Vincent asked, still somewhat new to the technologies of the present day.

"Mhmm. The doctor will put a sounding wand on my belly that puts out sound waves that will bounce off the baby and back to the wand, which then is put on a nearby screen as a picture. We can even hear their heart that way."

Vincent smiled and kissed her cheek.

"I'm excited to meet them." His palm pressed into her belly again. "they're going to have your cute face, I'm sure."

 "M-maybe!" Abby squeezed his fingers tighter, "they're still pretty young for distinct facial features though, I think…"

"Then, I'm sure they'll have your strong and beautiful heart." His other hand had slid down and was cradling her belly.

Abby didn't say anything, turning back to her reflection, her other hand also meeting Vincent's, squeezing his fingers but not pulling him away, mentally sighing to herself.

His hands were on her again once they returned home after the appointment. She felt like she was deluding herself in thinking Vincent was merely warming her after complaining about the cold gel at the appointment, but she knew better. Even the little butterfly kicks weren't enough to soothe her as Vincent's gentle voice asked rhetorical questions to their son, their son! They were going to be having a little boy in another few months and she was still very much excited about learning that today.

However, she could feel a mood taking over her. She felt horrible for feeling it. She should be excited as Vincent clearly was, but she felt the twinge of feeling left out.

She sat in the comfy chair, heaving out a heavy sigh with her eyes closed. She jumped when she felt Vincent's shoulders spreading her legs, his clear blue eyes looking at her for what felt like the first time in forever.

"Something wrong, Schatje?"

Abby shook her head quickly, flushing at seeing Vincent between her legs, sitting like a dog on the floor.

"N-no, nothing's wrong. Just a little tired today."

"It was a big day today," he agreed with her, reaching out a hand to, once again, feel her belly. "He must be feeling tired, too."

"Y-yeah, he's not kicking as much right now. He's still a baby, after all."

Vincent smiled and nodded, sitting up to kiss her belly, the sensation tickling.

"It's your papa again, telling you good night, little one. Have a good rest so we can play again tomorrow, okay?"

Abby bit her lip, looking away at the small scene.

"Schatje?"

"You-Your kisses tickle me…"

"Ah, sorry, sorry." Vincent laughed, then turned to her belly again. "Your mama is a little ticklish, that's what that sensation was."

Abby bit her lip again, taking in a slow breath. She then put a hand to Vincent's cheek. He looked up at her.

"L-let's let him sleep for now, okay? I…"

Vincent tilted his head quizzically.

"I… I've been missing you."

"I've been here the entire time, Schatje. All day with you, even."

"Y-you have been. Just… just that…"

"Just what?"

"It's… I know this is selfish of me to say… but I feel… sometimes… I feel like you're paying more attention to the baby… than to me…"

Vincent's widened as Abby looked away, feeling ashamed.

"It's silly, isn't it? We… we're having a baby! A baby boy! I should be excited, and I am! I really am! I just…"

She then felt a soft sensation on her lips and calloused hands taking hold of hers. The feeling lingered for an eternity, like he was pouring every ounce of love into a kiss that he could.

When Vincent finally did pull away, both were gasping for air, their breaths mingling together at their closeness.

"I'm sorry," Vincent said, "that I made you feel that way."

"Don't be," Abby said, "You're excited about all of this. I don't blame you."

"No, I made you feel terrible when I should be making you feel like the happiest woman in the world."

He kissed her cheek.

"How can I make it up to you?"

"You don't have to do anything! I'm happy that you're happy and that's enough."

"It's not enough, Schatje, to be the only one being happy when you should be too. Our promise was to do things together from now on. That includes sharing our happiness."

"Vincent…"

"So, the fact that I ignored you is inexcusable. I want to make it up to you. Tell me what you want in return."

Abby looked away, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

"…Kiss me again? Like before?"

Vincent smiled and leaned in again, taking her lips with a fierce hunger. He then cupped her cheek with one hand, tilting her head so he could have all of her with his mouth.

Clara

The wind was turning colder, Clara could feel it through her woolen cloak. She and Mr. Akatsuki would be back in town soon. Then she could dry herself out by a warm fire and a pile of blankets. The thought kept her going through the rain and the cold. She looked back at Mr. Akatsuki, looking just as cold and miserable as she felt. Some warm tea would help him, she was sure. Before he headed back to his house. Maybe she would ask him to stay until morning, so that his clothes would have a chance to dry.

Clara's thoughts were soon interrupted thunder erupting above her head. She sighed.

"We'll be back home soon," Mr. Akatsuki called out to her, adjusting the pack beside him. "Just a little farther."

Clara shook herself, the rain flicking into the distance from her movement. Her horse snorted.

"Just a little longer," Clara reassured her. "Then, you'll be warm and dry in your stable. You'll be getting some extra apples and oats tonight."

The horse whinnied but continued on as Clara smiled.

Then, the sky crackled again, illuminating the path before them. Clara squinted her eyes, seeing something peculiar in the road.

"What the..."

Lightning flashed again, this time her eyes seeing what the mist had been obscuring in the distance.

"Mr. Akatsuki! There's someone in the road!"

"What-Clara!"

Clara jumped off of her horse, the mud puddles squishing under her boots. She ran to the side of the road and kneeled down, feeling ice cold skin beneath her hand.

"Oh no--you're hurt!"

She turned the man over, red seeping into his light blue coat.

"Hey, can you hear me?" Clara tried again, gently shaking him.

Just as she was considering the worst had happened, the stranger's eyes opened, bleary and delirious.

"What..." he tried to say but he coughed and seized his side.

"Hold still, you're still bleeding."

Clara took out her handkerchief and pressed it into the man's side, pulling his coat off of him. Mr. Akatsuki had caught up to the pair, his eyes carefully scanning the area while Clara fussed over her charge.

"What happened to you..." Clara said softly.

"L-le..." The man tried to speak through clenched teeth.

"Huh?"

"Leave me... Miss..."

"We're not leaving you here. You'll die out here!"

"Clara!" Mr. Akatsuki called out, coming closer to the pair. "The rain is gonna get worse soon."

"Hey, listen," Clara turned back to the man, "Town's not far from here. We can take you there and find you a doctor."

"Please, Miss..." the man pleaded with her, his voice sad, "Leave me here."

"Not a chance!"

Clara whistled for her horse to come closer, finding one of her linen shirts in the pack. She wrapped the cloth around the stranger's middle and pulled off her cloak, the cold hitting her like an icy dagger.

"Sorry about this, sir."

Clara did her best to lift the man up. Though he was lithe in appearance, he was still taller and bigger than her, not to mention he could barely move. With a few grunts from the both of them, she had managed to put him on her horse, thankful for not aggravating his injury further.

"You can go ahead of me, Mr. Akatsuki." Clara called back to her mentor, who seemed to still be observing the scene.

"No, take him into town first," Mr. Akatsuki said, "the injured take priority, remember?"

"...Right."

Mounting carefully and apologizing to her horse, urging her forward.

When the man awoke again, his side was dressed with bandages, blood no longer seeping through the layers. His shoes were gone, but the rest of him was covered with a warm quilt, his head sinking comfortably into a feather pillow.

A fire was going nearby--he could smell the wood burning--with a hint of rose scent in the room as well. Matter of fact, almost everything near him smelled of roses. He couldn't smell salt water nor was there any strong scents of alcohol either. All he could really smell was roses, though he couldn't see any vases near the bed he was laying in. Where was this strong scent coming from he wondered.

Though, he did wonder why he couldn't smell any salt water as he couldn't remember specifically why that would be out of place.

Or really, that he couldn't remember much of anything prior to the young lady rescuing him. He remembered her clearly, remembering her dark hair pulled into a low, messy bun.

And, like the room surrounding him, she smelled of roses. It really was everywhere in this place.

Miri

It was beyond Miri's better judgment to be standing at the foot of the attic stairs for the third time, Lucifer nowhere in sight this time. She held her breath, waiting for an agonizing full minute before stepping on the first step. She looked around in all directions, breathing heavily.

There was no sign of Lucifer, no tap to her shoulder nor did he suddenly appear behind her saying 'Miriam' in his dangerous, disapproving tone.

She sighed in relief. So, he really did mean it by being distracted by the TSL soundtrack.

It still didn't mean she couldn't be cautious. Between the calls for help she kept hearing to Luke's warning to not trust demons, especially Lucifer, she needed to find out what was at the top of the attic stairs. If worse comes to worse, she could go to Diavolo about this… or maybe Simeon would help her? Or even ask Solomon?

Whatever the case, she needed to get up there before her time ran out and Lucifer found her peeking again. Who knows what he would do if he found her a third time?

"…Miriam." a voice said, making her jump.

A frantic look around only to find she was still alone on the stairwell. No Lucifer, nor were any of the other brothers around. Just her and her shaking legs.

"Finally, no one is going to stop you." The voice continued, "Now's your chance to climb up. Come on, this way, Miriam."

Miri closed her eyes and swallowed hard, steeling her nerves. It was now or never!

Taking care to still be quiet, she raced upwards, finding herself on the attic landing, faced with a door. On the other side was another figure, purplish pink eyes that she felt looked somehow familiar, but she couldn't place exactly where, staring at her. The figure slowly smiled, laid-back and lazy despite the barrier between them.

"I knew you were the one person who'd be able to find me." he said.

Miri was speechless. Luke was right in saying not to trust Lucifer and now she had proof on the matter. Her heart sped up in concern.

"Who… no, what are you doing in there?" She asked, reaching towards the door, finding it, naturally, locked.

"I'm certainly not here of my own free will. That much should be obvious."

Okay, stupid question deserved a stupid answer, she thought. Of course he wasn't in there of his free will.

"A-are you a demon? Or an angel?" She couldn't get out that she wanted to ask if he was a human as it would have made the situation much-

"Don't be ridiculous! Just the thought of being one of them is enough to send a shiver down my spine."

What he said next made her blood run cold.

"I'm a human, just like you."

Miri gasped in horror.

"A demon imprisoned me here long ago, and I've been stuck here ever since."

"It was Lucifer." he continued, "I'm guessing you've met him already. Well, that demon is the one who locked me in here."

He looked at her, pleading as he put his hands against his prison bars.

"I'm begging you, Miriam. You've got to get me out of here. I'm asking for your help."

"I…" Miri started, still taking in all of this new information, "how can I get you out?"

There didn't seem to be a lock she could pick (as though she knew how to do that in the first place) nor did there seem to be any hinges she could see. The metal of the door seemed thick too. There was no way she could shoulder ram it either, as a human or as the tiny sheep she would be turning back into soon.

"Are there hinges on your side? Maybe I could find a screwdriver or maybe something in the kitchen to get the bolts out."

"There aren't any hinges or bolts."

"Huh?"

"It's sealed by magic. Real powerful stuff at that."

she "fixates" on men that already like her, so she tries to force herself to like them. she's definitely aware she's atleast interested in women in a non straight manner, and is trying to push it down. Probably dislikes minji for bringing those feelings up and instead convincing herself that attraction is hatred (love and hate are two very similar emotions)

I think pnpyn in the argument got distracted by minji cause she's pretty and... Got mad. She's probably terrified of people suspecting she's gay, and will immediately refute the claims. some people do this by presenting as homophobic but... She's an idol I don't think she's doing that LMFAO

overall, while I can't gather her character from just one work, she definitely puts on a "unbothered girlboss" persona to hide her self hate and paranoia. she probably actually doesn't like herself at ALL.

this is an amazing first analysis on pnp!yn I feel like some of ur views on her might change a little as the story goes on but I��d say most of things you think about her are pretty spot on.

I always find it funny that it’s hard for u to analyze wow!yn’s I feel like because ur not the biggest fan of her it makes it hard for you to understand her because there’s some asks that I’ve gotten on her and they’re pretty spot on with her. but she rlly is my most complex yn so that kinda makes me glad that you have a hard time understanding her that means my job is done

Go Rush's fifth arc is the worst Bridge arc so far by a country mile

(SPOILERS AHEAD FOR ALL OF SEASON 2. I TALK ABOUT THINGS AFTER THIS ARC IN THIS POST)

It's not even a contest. Every other arc (in both Sevens and Go Rush) was at least good, or knew what it was doing even if it was mid at times. This arc started fine, had a lot of promise even, but completely fell apart for a myriad of reasons but mostly two huge ones with far reaching consequences that at the time of writing this, Go Rush still hasn't fully recovered from even though it has since gotten much better.

And the downfall is so clear and so sudden that I can pinpoint exactly which episode it started:

Like I said in my designated post, this episode is a good Zwijo episode. It shows just how far he's come since season 1, which makes sense after he spent the past two years peacefully ending the Velgearian war alongside Yudias with rush duels. Everything Zwijo related in this episode is good. It's the fact that they made Manabu's character do an unprecedented 180 into alien murdering douche-baggery and constantly bullying him (something later episodes only double down on) that makes me despise it. It's not just the fact that they made him unlikable, it's the fact that the shift in character came out of left field and the amount of repercussions he gets compared to what he actually did is horribly imablanced against him.

Especially compared to someone like-

I'm not gonna sugarcoat this: I hate this character. He spends two years imprisoning every single alien in Mutsuba town regardless of whether they're a threat or not, even potentially attempting to kill the harmless Jersey aliens for no fucking reason in the arc's final duel, and turning people into cards to use for his maximums purely for his own gain something I don't think he ever undid since we don't know what people his TWO MAXIMUMS came from and no the next arc claiming he was manipulated to do this is not at all convincing and unlike every other villain, HE GETS OFF SCOTT FREE FOR ALL OF IT.

The Luge was turned to ice, temporarily as they found the cure for everyone but he still got a taste of his own medicine. Manabu gets viciously bullied for things that were demonstrably out of character. Zwijo... doesn't really get repercussions admittedly but had a whole season's build up to imply to he was not all bad. Plus he had far more compelling and clear reasons for what he did and he spent the next two years making up for it and showing that he'd changed. Hell, even goddamn Zaion and Kuaidul in the next arcs get repercussions. Zaion was taken into custody, then had his dreams granted then ripped away from him in the spacetime (not to mention what else he might go through in the upcoming ZaiLuge episode) and Kuaidul is, at the current moment at least, fucking dead. Kuaidul is dead. Why. Why does Phaser the actual canon racist murderer get off scott free and become a friend of the protagonists while Kuaidul dies a pawn of the creator?

....

Anyways..

There's a slight mention that Phaser was doing it to protect his little brother but protecting your brother from getting hurt does not translate into "imprison and attempt to deport every single fucking alien simply for not being from Earth". He legitimately speaks like a real life racist:

And in the end, he's just let off the hook after a wimpy ass apology and as the next episode reveals, even allowed to stay in charge of the MIK: the very company he used to gain his power and hurt all these people.

These Manabu and Phaser issues are my biggest problems with the arc, and their problems make four of the thirteen episodes outright bad and two of those episodes were the final duel which is honestly the most important part of an arc to get right. Believe me, I wouldn't have gotten back into Go Rush at all after this piece of shit arc if Galaxy Cup's finale hadn't been as special as it was.

There are other problems with this arc but they're all mostly confined to the individual episodes so I'll just quickly list them off as I've already talked about them in enough detail in other places.

1 Yuamu having so little of a reaction to Yuhi being carded it comes across as her not caring about him. Honestly her writing during the Yuamu vs Phaser duel is such a mess that it really muddles her character.

2 The cat episodes, while cute, being out of place tonally and dragging the pacing to a screeching halt.

3 Sevens fan service completely hijacking the plot to a distracting degree, particularly in Yudias vs Tremolo and the episode where they time travel to the Sevens time period.

4 The underlying idea that "only a maximum can beat a maximum" that undermines fusion and tribute summoning.

Nearly everything I liked about this arc was within its first half. I like Yuna's episode and think it added a lot of depth to her character, Ranran and Damamu's dynamic and roles in the arc was engaging and I consistently enjoyed them, Yuhi's arc wasn't as fleshed out as it could've been but it was at least cohesive and he's an overall likeable character here.

And the take I'm gonna get shredded for: I still like Tremolo. I liked him back when the arc first came out and I still like him now. In this arc at least, later episodes have had some implications that I hate. Still, even putting aside the fact that he's just kinda funny to me as I know that's subjective, his motivations are simple and understandable: "protect my brother the way he protects me." And I just found that engaging.

Overall, this arc is just flat out bad. I compared it to WRGP back when it first came out and yeah, I don't think that's too far off. They're both not quite as bad on rewatches, and have their moments but still bad overall.

I also don’t care that there are people who think differently because people are entitled to their own fucking opinions so long as they aren’t actively harming others (if you don’t like them don’t interact with them more than you have to on both sides, it’s not a hard concept).

No, I don’t think that all rich people are evil or owe us something (and that’s coming from someone who used to live in a tiny little trailer and only got a small packet of gum for Christmas once) but I also don’t think that workers are over-exaggerating some of their horrible conditions such as payment. No, I don’t care what pronouns you use Finley but guess what when you come at me for “assuming your gender” or whatever twice in the same day despite the fact that it changes literally every hour then that’s where we start to have problems. No, I don’t care that you believe in god but fun fact I am a heavy believer in the separation of church and state and will you look at that, it seems like church and state are getting a bit too chummy up in this house when you claim that all women who get abortions are murderers who are gonna go to hell and abortion should be criminalized for the sake of their souls Auntie Susana.

On top of that I become old enough to vote and stuff soon but honestly I don’t really want to. All I’ve seen my whole life are a bunch of adults going at each other’s throats like rabies-infested dogs and for what? So that they can try to get an extra bit of rope in ya’ll’s tug-of-war? And then older people come at people my age who don’t want to be involved in the shitshow? It almost makes me want to laugh my ass off because that’s like polluting a well and then pleading for the townsfolk to drink that nasty water.

Sorry for my harsh words. I just had a lot of frustrations and really needed to say something anywhere. Know that none of this was directed at you or anyone with strong opinions in a malicious way, I’m honestly just so tired. It feels like everyone everywhere is fighting and for what? When I saw this ask, I had to stop looking at this website for like three days. It's a very privileged take, honestly. I don't blame people for getting tired of hearing about politics and world issues all the time, it is exhausting. But as someone who's frequently called exhausting, well, I'm fucking sorry if hearing about the people suffering around you is bothering you. That is a privilege. You can feel that way, but recognize you feeling that way is a luxury.

Your (I'm assuming) metaphorical Grandma hating gay people isn't the same as your metaphorical cousin calling homophobes evil. As I said to my mom yesterday in a very similar conversation, your grandma has the luxury of leaving that conversation any time. So do you. I, as well as other gay people, do not have that luxury. Getting annoyed or tired about any debate on basic human rights I understand, but equally at both sides is bizarre to me. It's like getting mad at a random person in 1912 and the Titanic passengers equally for continuing to talk about the Titanic. One of these groups hAS TO BE TALKING ABOUT THE TITANIC RIGHT NOW. You're not on the Titanic, so you can shut your newspaper and get annoyed it's all you hear about. THE TITANIC PASSENGERS CANT! One side is there because it's literally them being talked about. The other is there because they have too much free time and are demons.

I understand why you feel like people are fighting all the time. They are. But politics are not very black and white. In America it's really just the right and the farther right. But individuals are fighting because things need to be fought for, simply enough. Silence is complicity, and your first two paragraphs are just that.

Okay. So I've got 3K of the story written so far and I'm hardly even into the Javi part of it already. Most of it is exposition...and I think that's what's holding me up. I like my worldbuilding to weave into the story, but right now it's all sitting at the beginning and maybe that's what's bugging me. It feels boring and clunky and I wanted it to be better...

But I have the power to make it better. I just have to pull up my britches and start again.

In this modern verse, alphas aren't necessarily the ruling class, but they have total immunity. Biologically speaking, they get free rein. Alphas can mate with whomever they want, but if they mark someone, they are claimed for life by that alpha and nobody else will touch them (omega or not). Alphas and omegas are recessive traits, so while they can pop up anywhere, they mostly show up in families and are pretty much guaranteed between an alpha and omega pair. However, omegas are rare.

Mallorca is run by two alpha families--the reader's and the Gutierrezes. As in the movie, Javi's family has crime dealings, but does a lot of business in olive groves. Reader's family lords over the eastern ports which are vital for trade but also good for smuggling. So the families have an easy understanding.

Reader is the only omega born into a family of alphas. And Javi's family is full of alphas...including Javi. From a young age, she just figured she'd be fated to be handed over to one of them, but her father actually took an interest in raising her to be independent and encourages her to get off the island and go to school elsewhere and have a life she wants.

But...she has a past with Javi. They were childhood friends. And there was an incident in their youth when Lucas--who has marked and claimed MANY women just for fun and then left them solitary--attacked her and nearly marked her. It caused a rift between the families for years that only started to heal once she left the country.

But now she's back.

And as for Javi...he grew up watching the toxic masculinity of his alpha family and wants none of it; even if it means forcibly denying his own natural instincts. So while these two care deeply for each other, he knows that choosing her means choosing his alpha side and he's deeply committed to not becoming like his father or cousin....
