Vanya paced the common room of their mansion, glancing at the old posters and magazines of her siblings. Something caught her eye, hidden within a bookshelf was her book titled; EXTRA ORDINARY: My Life as Number Seven. Written by Vanya Hargreeves.

She took the book from the shelf, turning the book to read the description printed on the back. Opening the book to a note she had written for her father.

'Dad,

I figured, why not?

- V.'

Pogo, coming from the lobby, turned his head to find Vanya. "Welcome home, Ms. Vanya."

In a quick motion, Vanya turned to Pogo and addressed him with familiarity. "Pogo." Walking over to him to give a warm hug. "Hmm." Pogo patted her back as a sign of comfort.

"So good to see you." He said as they both pulled away from the hug. He saw the book in her hand. "Ah, yes, your autobiography."

"Do you know, um..." Vanya started hesitantly, looking down at the book that was in her hand. "Did he ever read it?"

"Not that I'm aware of." Pogo shook his head.

She shook her head and looked off to the side, her eyes finally landing on the portrait above the fireplace, the portrait of Number Five.

"How long has it been since Five disappeared?" She asked Pogo as her body fully turned to face the fireplace. The sound of burning wood crackling, easing the silence that surrounded them.

"Its been 16 years, 4 months, and 14 days."

"What about Mika? Is she still here?" She asked, a bit hopeful to hopefully hear that she is still, atleast, breathing.

"Yes, Ms. Vanya. She's still somewhere inside of this house. As for Number Five, your father insisted that I keep track." Pogo replied.

"You wanna know something stupid? Mika and I used to always leave the lights open for him, and on the days that I would forget, she would do it herself.

Mika was so afraid that he would come back, it would be late, and the house would be dark, and he wouldnt be able to find us, so he'd leave again. So, she insisted that I come along with her.

Every night, we'd make a little snack and make sure all the lights were on, and it stopped as Mika..." Vanya reminisced, looking back at all the times where she and her sister sat and waited for Five to come back, hours into the night.

"Oh, I remember your snacks. I'm pretty sure I stepped in half those peanut butter and marshmallow sandwiches." Pogo and Vanya shared a small laugh about it.

He glanced slightly at the painting and turned to Vanya. "Your father always believed that Number Five was still out there somewhere. He never lost hope."

"And look where that got him." She replied, a frown settling in her face.

Somewhere in the academy, Allison slides open a door to what seems like an old office, papers scattered across the desks, ink spilled on the floor, and files were everywhere.

She walked in and a common memory that all the siblings shared, flashed.

'Sir Reginald Hargreeves was working on his desk, scribbling away in a notebook, his pen making noises as he wrote down notes fast.

There was a knock on the door and without looking up, he sensed that someone walked in the room.

"The children are ready for bed, sir. They wanted to say goodnight." Grace, their beautiful mechanic mother announced, turning around to fetch the children, our dear old Reggie, still scribbling away in his notebook.

Sliding the door open, Grace motions to the children, their smiling faces brought a light into the academy, a light that soon, will never come back.

Once they saw that their father was still busy, the smiles on their lovely faces disappeared one by one. Grace sighed as she saw their father shake his head, still engrossed in what he was writing.

"Okay! Time for bed now, kids. Come along now." She cheerfully said, gesturing for the kids to leave. "Come along now."

You'd think that all of the kids left but no, Mika was still standing in the doorway. "Come along now, Mika, your father's busy. Five? Please, take Mika with you."

"He's always busy." Mika whispered silently, as she let Five pull her away from the office door. Once again, leaving Sir Reginald Hargreeves, writing in peace.'

Allison shook her head, shaking away the memory that flashed as she walks deeper into their father's old office. Slowly pushing forward as she hears rumbling from under the desk.

"Where's the cash, Dad?" There was whispering happening under the desk. Allison creeped up closer, suspicion was written all over her face. "Where's the cash?"

"Klaus? What are you doing in here?" Oh, would you look at that, Number Four, Klaus Hargreeves, was caught.

"Oh! Allison! Wow, is that you?" Klaus greeted his sister, standing up from under the desk. "Hey, come here." He was pulling Allison into a hug.

"Long time. Too long. Hey, I was hoping to see you, actually, because I wanted to get your autograph. Add it to my collection!" He put his hands under his chin, acting so sweet.

Allison saw the medical bracelet on his hand. "Just out of rehab?" Klaus denied and kept repeating it. "No. I'm done with all that."

"I just came down here to prove to myself that the old man was really gone." He started to fake his tears, Allison was still standing him with an amused face.

"And he is! He's dead. Yeah!" Klaus clapped his hands.

Their bickering continued until it was stopped by none other than Luther, who was standing in another door that leads into the office. "Get out of his chair."

As Klaus and Luther began to talk, Allison looked at Luther, there was something in her eyes that one couldn't really tell. Klaus got up to leave, his bigger brother asking him to drop something before he completely rushes out of the room.

Luther and Allison were left in the office to talk.

Hours later, the common room was occupied by a few of the siblings, Diego in a single couch, Allison was sat by herself in front of the coffee table sipping on a bourbon, Luther was leaning against one of the decorative tables, Vanya was nervously tapping her fingers on her leg, and Klaus was in the bar, drinking the last drops of alcohol that were left.

"I guess we sould get this started."

Oh its November 5th its 2am. Im here to rant and update on what my lige has been since july 31st. (I can't believe its been that long). Also im doing this on a phone instead of my school laptop so bare with me.

AUGUST

August was starting off great. I dont have covid, im moving and my work besties moved away. But dont worry(one comes back later). Anyways i only remember like 3 specfic days in august tbh(oops) but the first is tge day of the seventeen concert. It was magical i had the time of my life 10/10 would go again. However i cane home at like 11:50, which is a big yikes but didnt get caught. Then theres the day where this guy at my work asked me to cover his shift and then we started talking like all the time. And ppl were suspecting something was going on with us. And there was not in august tho. So it was a cute 2 weeks of flirting acting like we were gonna date. But we didnt :(

September

"You know its not the same as it was"

September, this is the month where we moved to our new place. I share a room only with my sister exciting right? Im pretty sure prince and i had our first kiss in sept or it couldve been august idk. But after the first kiss he told me that were gonna stay friends but i wanted more and that was the first of many times where ill be sad or crying over him(lame ik) but then one day he was like can we hnag after work and i was like ok sure, so i thought he wanted to talk for some odd reason. But we started kissing(and when i tell u my face was like huhhhhhhhhh so this is what its like) and then i lost my v card less than a week later. And hung out with friends a day later :) then we started doing it again afterwe said we wouldnt(well him more than me)

October

I start finding dignity in myself and trying to get over him. I went to a haunted house tho which was fun. Also didn't get caught either. I went to the movies by myself too. I also started to lose a lot of interest in peanut butter. I also missed my period which is crazy bc I still haven't gotten it(we're in November). OOh, and I went to dave busters for the first time which was fun. I also met a new guy his nickname will be bill

Okay now we're in November and I saw him on the first day of November and I'm about to see him again tomorrow.

my day yesterday was okay, i've just been relaxing, and studying occasionally. went out to explore a nearby town too, it's so pretty there. and much colder (since it's a highlands) of course!! Today was great too. I bought doughnuts (they're amazing?? I love doughnuts), and I had instant ramen, but it was SO spicy I nearly died. Went back to the grocery store today to check out the status, due to the panic buying happening. My area has been relatively calm bc we are a little more remote than the city and a little removed from Downtown, but I know the hysteria is creeping.

Mainly everything was in stock except fucking toilet paper! I dont get it. The only other big thing that was missing was fresh meat? Did everyone go keto for this pandemic? lmao (tbf, it's how I'm eating right now for inflammation etc but I'm giving myself plenty of range bc of this situation). All the canned goods/dry goods/frozen stuff was pretty damn well stocked. Bags of sugar were weirdly low? Uuhh. Oh and bread was slim pickings, but I havent had bread since December. But peanut butter was in good shape!

But like. Does anyone know how to survive properly when sick/quarantined? I'm deeply concerned. You'd think soup and broth would be wiped out but there was SO MUCH! I thought for sure I wouldnt be able to get my bone broth, but wow there it was in plentiful amounts. Same with tea, you couldnt ask for MORE kinds of tea on the shelves cuz it wouldnt have fit.

i have some Thoughts (TM) on this, but please don't take this as hate bc it's not, i do love your content, but i feel like obligated to defend reid somewhat lol.

i feel like your analysis of some characters like hotch and morgan and emily is spot on, but a bit off for reid. you said that he could be easily replaced by google but that isn't true. @dungeons-are-too-cold made a really good point abt reid's pattern recognition skills that have been incredibly helpful to the team.

not to mention that reid's eidetic memory is a million times more useful than google because he can recite specific information about unsubs and cases that google wouldnt have access to. and he can use the info he knows in situations where google wouldve been otherwise inaccessible, like in revelations where reid's ability to memorize the bible front and back allowed him to send a message to the team. not a single other member of the team wouldve been able to do that because they dont have the skills he has. which is okay, because he also doesnt have some of the skills of other members. thats why theyre a team, they all bring a unique set of abilities to the table.

but even if he started off in s1 as a wikipedia page, he developed to be more than just a reciter of facts, and not to use a meme but:

Like a good portion of Reid's characterization comes from his ability to relate to and sympathize with some of the unsubs. Like that was a pretty big plot point in season 3 with the Owen Savage case.

You mentioned in another post that other characters are much better with kids, but Reid isn't bad with kids at all. In fact, he is fantastic with child witnesses and victims.

Like in s12 ep12 when he talks with the little girl about having similar hair to her doll and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to distract her from the news that her father died. Or in s13 ep11 when he talked to the girl in the hospital about fungi and the Galapagos island and helped her open up about her mom so they could get vital details to the case. In the same season, ep17, he talks with a nonverbal kid and is able to get a description of the killer from him.

And you can't forget s6 ep16, "Coda", where Reid's ability to connect with Sammy Sparks is literally the whole reason the case was solved, or s2 ep 11 "Sex Birth Death" where a teenager, Nathan Harris, literally sought Reid out specifically for help and the whole episode centered around that.

He's certainly more well-rounded in the later seasons than the earlier seasons, but even in the very first episode, while Hotch is explaining their individual specialties that specifically relate to profiling, he says that Reid was an expert in everything. It's more than just Hotch, a lot of characters like Emily and Morgan have a huge amount of respect for Reid, despite how much they tease him.

You said in another post that he wasn't useless, but he wasn't necessary to the team, but I would argue otherwise. very few characters have proved invaluable to the team, but those that have (garcia, reid, hotch, morgan, emily) are valuable for a reason. garcia above all because no other character on the series can do what she does. but you could apply this to a lesser extent to reid. simply put: not other character in that show is nearly as smart as reid when it comes to anything outside of technology. his ability to ingest, process, and apply information is unmatched and vital to about 80-90% of the cases the team works on. just like nobody can do what garcia does, no one can do what reid does.

i'm not saying the team is incapable of operating without him, theyre all still incredibly competent on their own. but even in the episodes where hes on leave from the team, they mention how much they could've used reid's intelligence and knowledge. they even have to call him up in the middle of one of the cases (in s13 ep10) he wasnt working just to figure out a piece of information that was crucial to figuring out the identity of the unsub.

And about the list, gideon should be first. as little screen time as he got compared to most everyone else, he should 100% be first. and reid is way too far down. i mean walker was an interesting character, but putting him above reid in terms of skills is very questionable imo. at least from seasons 6-15 reid deserves to be in the top 5.

i mean absolutely no disrespect when i say any of this, and im not tryna invalidate ur opinion or anything, i just thought id give my two cents here.

for the opinion thing, if i ever hear someone say "reid carries the team" i automatically don't trust them. but if i hear "reid and garcia carry the team" then i automatically do trust them. like something about the vibes is so different. even as a reidgirl, genuinely do not trust anyone who thinks reid was the only important member of the team.
