#I'm ignoring the fact that he's flirting with a 16 year old

Just fair warning- I said on my personal post about this that I wasn't going to talk about Neil Gaiman anymore, but as it's becoming clear that him and his publishers and anyone else who makes money off of him is circling the wagons and trying to bury these allegations, as well as some fans still defending and trying to 'rationalize' this information, I feel like, actually, we need to keep talking about him (as much as I cannot stand him and feel physically disgusted now when I so much as see his face somewhere). Specifically, the fact that he's a liar, master manipulator and should not, under any circumstances, be given access to his fans like he has in the past. At the very least. (And if you need to blacklist his name or even unfollow me so as to not be triggered, I completely understand, but I will always try to tag these posts accordingly and I think it's crucial right now that the truth be put where people can see)

This post specifically is in response to those 'rationalizations' I've seen, some that have gone as far as to blame the young fans/groupies that hooked up with him for being 'golddiggers' or just making a mountain out of a molehill for something they now regret. It's not that simple, yall. (And, again, this requires some amount of completely ignoring the story about him extorting his tenant for sex under threat of eviction of her and her three young children, I'm not sure how you 'rationalize' that under the best of circumstances)

So let's be clear here. What we know is that NG has routinely, for possibly an upwards of 30 years, pulled sexual 'partners' from his fan groups, most of whom are 18-22 year old young women (though possibly younger, accounts are coming forward of 16 year olds having allegedly been inappropriately touched/flirted/propositioned by him, which ig is the age of consent in the UK but still?? 16 year olds!!). This wasn't one or two times in the course of three decades, this was a constant pattern of behavior for him and for a very insidious reason.

This isn't to try to infantilize those fans or young women/young people in general or try to suggest that they couldn't have consented to sex with an older person or famous person. In fact, the onus isn't on them at all. This is about an older guy with a lot of fame, power and wealth choosing to sleep with people that he had already conditioned to idolize him and using that power imbalance to coerce them into doing things they didn't want to.

Regardless of one's age or gender identity, it can be difficult to impossible to say 'no' to someone like that. After all, you've been 'chosen' by the chosen one, you're special and not like everyone else, and if you don't do what the popular person everyone trusts is telling you to do you could end up ostracized. Alienated. Or worse. And you know what? Gaiman knew that! He knew it when he was crafting his 'approachable dad' persona on tumblr. He knew it when he was cultivating a fandom of personality. He knew it when he was having huge meetups to try to ensnare more victims. I hate to even think it, but I'm starting to believe he knew it when he was writing children's books too.

It's been talked about again and again in separate issues, but needless to say something not being strictly illegal does not make it inherently, morally okay. It does not erase the fact that this man has been essentially grooming his fandom to feel safe meeting/speaking with him so he can coerce those he can snare into sexual acts they're not comfortable with. That is predator behavior, whether strictly 'illegal' in the eyes of a court or not (but ofc I think he should be criminally punished even if I'm not naive enough to think he actually will be, because this IS rape and rape should be criminally punished)

I'm not personally advocating for anyone to give up being in his related fandoms, but what I am personally advocating for is that people don't forget who he is and what he's capable of, especially when he tries to crawl back to where he was (I'm almost certain he will eventually, as I've said).

Again, at the very least, we need to use what little influence we do have to keep him from infiltrating fan spaces again. He should not be on tumblr yukking it up with young people, he should not be at public appearances hitting on teenagers, he should not be given the unrestricted access to fans that he's 'enjoyed' for the past 30+ years because he is not a safe person. While I wish there was more in the way of restorative justice that could be done, I think at very, very least we should do what we can to limit his proximity to people he could hurt in the future. Make sure no one forgets, because sweeping this under the rug means Gaiman gets to hurt more people.

Lastly, no one is the wrong for having been manipulated by him. Let's make that very clear. What we're NOT gonna do is blame ourselves, each other, the victims, etc, for evil acts that Gaiman chose to do himself, time and time and time again. It doesn't help the situation and it certainly doesn't protect future potential victims. We were all duped because we're human and we attach and a lot of us want to believe there are good people out there, particularly those who make art that means so much to us.

And there are. But let's also use this a teaching/learning tool about how much faith we place in famous people in the future, regardless of how 'approachable' and 'safe' they might seem. Let's remember to have a healthy suspicion of creators/famous people that are oddly immersed in fandom spaces- yes, even the ones you still currently like that seem fine, as difficult as that may seem.

At the end of the day, we don't know them or what they're capable of doing or what they might be plotting to do to us. Support victims. Amplify their voices. Don't forget.

I'm thinking about the lost hero trio and how it seems a lot of og fans don't like most of them (except Leo, which is a whole other story to talk about) and I actually have been thinking about them a lot. Like, they either all get mischaracterized or they have the integral parts of their characters looked over.

Like, Jason is like that because he's been at that camp since he was 2. This is all he's ever known. He will never replace Percy because they are nothing alike except in the fact that they are leaders and they're both good at it just in different aspects. That's allowed. A major difference between Percy and Jason is that Percy was allowed a mother that loved him and Jason had his cohort who he saw as family as well because once again he was at camp Jupiter for his entire life. This sense of order and justice is what he's been taught for so long, it would make sense that he might find some peace at camp halfblood because he's never experienced something so relaxing as that, and he doesn't even know what it's like to be human. Most other demigods got that experience before it was revealed to them that they were one. He's always been this.

And piper, I don't know if this still happens because I wasn't on the interest for the golden age of hoo and pjo discourse, but if you look at her past you can see a direct line as to why she ends up rejecting her feminity in those first few books and why she's learning how to be herself. I feel like a lot of people forget that she's a 16 year old girl. Like, she doesn't have her life figured out and with demigod standards, she's probably going through her midlife crisis. She's still understanding who she is as a person and what she wants out of life which at the time was attention from her father and to ignore the absence of her mother.

Then Leo, everyone loves Leo I think, and yet a lot of people reduce him down to ooo funny guy!! That boy is depressed. And he has been for a long time. He's seeing everyone around him succeed while he's very utterly alone and trying his best to figure out where he fits in this weird machine and then his best friend fucking dies after he finally thought he was going to see him again. Yes, Leo is funny, but reducing him down to funny mechanic who flirts with girls takes away an integral part of his character which is his crippling self worth (which they all have) and how it stems from his childhood trauma.

Honestly, I could continue with so much. I have so many thoughts about PJO and HOO but for the sake of not pissing people off, I'm stopping here. (Also, people forget about the fact that Percy is also a deeply traumatized kid)

~~~~18+ minors DNI~~~~

You walked into Lancaster Academy and looked around.

It wasn't too bad compared to the other schools you've been to. It was actually quite nice if you were being honest, it felt more like a college campus than a high school.

You followed signs that pointed you to the main office. Classes had already started a month ago, but since you had just moved to Savannah, here you were, joining one month late, much to your perturbation.

You tried to convince your parents to let you skip the year and join the next one but, of course, they had absolutely shut that idea down.

Well, it was worth a shot.

You walked into the office and were greeted by the classic: an old lady with curly hair and glasses sitting at the desk.

"Hello, dear, how can I help you?" She smiled kindly at you.

"Hi, uh, I'm supposed to talk to Principal Waters? My name is y/n l/n, I just transferred here."

"Oh, yes! Miss l/n, you can go in, he's in there." She directed you.

You said "Thank you", giving her a small smile before walking into the principal's office.

When you walked in, he looked up and recognition filled his face.

"Ah, y/n, welcome! Please, sit." He gestured to one of the seats in front of his desk.

"Thanks." You said as you sat down, Principal Waters mirroring your action.

"So, today is your first day of classes. Here is your schedule, some information about clubs and whatnot, and lastly your gym uniform, which your parents already paid for." He handed you the things as he listed them off to you.

You organized them in your hands and nodded.

"Would you like me to give you a tour of the school and show you where your classes are?" He asked you.

Your eyes widened at his question.

"Oh, no no! That won't be necessary, I can find my way around." You quickly responded, shaking your free hand in the air in front of you in a waving motion.

He chuckled at your quick response.

"Alright, I get it. Well, your first class will start soon, so you should get a move on. Welcome to Lancaster Academy, y/n." Principal Waters smiled as you both stood up.

"Thanks." You shot him a crooked smile before leaving his office and subsequently the main office.

However as you were leaving the main office, you bumped into someone, dropping all of the papers and your gym uniform Principal Waters had given you.

"Oh, shit! I'm so sorry!" A voice said as both of you dropped down to pick up your stuff.

"No, it's okay, I wasn't looking where I was..." Your voice trailed off as you grabbed your things and looked up, meeting eyes with the girl you had bumped into.

"...going." You finished.

Holy shit she was cute.

She gave you a small smile as she handed you your gym uniform and schedule.

The two of you stood up and you awkwardly adjusted your backpack strap.

"U-um, are you new here? I've never seen you around." The other girl asked you sheepishly.

"Uh yeah, actually, I just transferred in today, I moved here recently." You responded, taking in her gorgeous blue eyes.

"Oh, cool, cool...Can I see your schedule? I mean, if you don't mind." She added quickly.

You smiled at her, oh she was absolutely adorable.

"Sure, here you go." You handed her your schedule.

She scanned over it before looking back at you.

"Oh, you're actually in my English class! I was just heading over, I mean, if you want to come with." She added nervously.

You smiled brightly at her.

"Oh, of course, it's not like I know the building anyway." You chuckled.

"Well, I could show you where all your classes are... I mean if you wanted me to, obviously!" She quickly added again, her eyes widening.

"Yeah, sure, that wouldn't be too bad, thanks." You smiled.

This was way better than Principal Waters showing you around.

She returned the action, melting your heart with her own smile.

"Alright, shall we head over?" You asked.

"Oh! Yeah, let's go." She said, starting to walk towards the classroom.

As you walked alongside her, you looked over to see her fiddling with her fingers and looking anywhere but at you. She was nervous.

"So… you gonna tell me your name or what?" You smirked as you spoke up.

Her eyes widened as she lifted her head to look at you.

"Oh, shit! I'm so sorry, I'm Juliette, what's your name?" She asked.

"Y/n." You responded with a relaxed smile.

"Y/n..." She repeated softly with a smile.

You would be lying if you said your heart didn't race at how delicious your name sounded coming from her mouth.

"You have a pretty name." You said as the two of you finally reached your classroom.

She blushed and looked down.

"Thanks, I really like yours, too." She smiled.

"Well, after you,” Juliette said, gesturing for you to walk through the door first.

"Why, thank you, madame." You thanked her with a slight bow, causing her to let out a giggle that was like music to your ears.

You grinned widely as you walked past her. You looked around the room in search of an open seat but pretty much all of them were taken.

"Um, you can sit next to me… if you want?" Juliette said shyly, slowly making her way over to her seat in case you wanted to follow.

"Sure." You smiled, following her to her desk.

You sat down, keeping your backpack on the floor next to you and taking your notebook out.

Right as you did, Mr. Porter, your English teacher, walked in. You were slightly disappointed you didn't get the chance to talk to Juliette more.

"Alright, class, good morning." He said as he quickly entered the room and set his things down on the desk.

He then stood in front of his desk and leaned on it, clapping his hands together before speaking.

"Before we begin, I have a little announcement."

Oh god, here we go.

You hid your head in your hands.

"As most of you might have noticed, we have a new student joining us. Would you like to introduce yourself?” he gestured to you.

Isn’t this high school? Nobody introduces new students these days!

Regardless, you stood up, much to your embarrassment.

You looked back over at Juliette, who gave you an encouraging, starry-eyed smile before you started speaking.

"Um, alright… hey guys, my name is y/n. Great to be here, I guess…" You muttered before sitting down, successfully earning a few laughs and snickers from your classmates, including an adorable giggle from Juliette at your poor attempt at a joke.

You smiled to yourself as Mr. Porter begrudgingly accepted your introduction.

He moved on to the lesson and you felt Juliette's eyes burning holes into your skin.

When you looked over at her though, she quickly looked away and you saw the tinge of red that coated her cheeks.

You smiled as you tried to pay attention to the lesson, but all that was on your mind was Juliette next to you.

You looked over at her and your small smile disappeared as you saw her head in her hands. She closed her eyes tightly and you could see her chest rising and falling quicker than normal. You put your arm around the back of her chair and leaned in to whisper into her ear.

"Hey, are you okay?" You asked, concern laced in your voice.

You pulled back a little, but not too much, as her head shot up and displayed her wide eyes and heavy red blush.

Your faces were close and you noticed her looking at your lips before she answered with a nod.

"Yeah, I just get bad migraines sometimes." She whispered back before reaching into her bag and grabbing a container of red pills, popping two into her mouth and swallowing.

You leaned back in your chair and watched her reaction. It seemed to imply instant relief, mixed with a bit of euphoria, as she closed her eyes and her heavy breathing gradually slowed down before she opened her eyes to look back at you with an uneasy smile.

Now it was your turn to be flustered. You quickly looked away, feeling your face heat up.

Holy shit, how could someone look hot just taking pills?!

For the rest of class, you tried not to look at Juliette too much, in fear of her noticing your bashfulness if it had returned, completely forgetting about how strange it was that the pills had worked instantly.

When the bell rang you quickly put your things in your bag and got up from your seat.

"Well, I got pre-calc right now, I noticed we passed the room earlier actually, so I guess I'll see you around?" You cocked your head at Juliette.

"Yeah, yeah, for sure! Um- I'm pretty sure we have lunch together, too, so I'll see you later I guess." She let out a nervous laugh, gripping her backpack straps.

Your eyes light up as you answer her, "Okay, great! Then I'll definitely see you later." You winked at her before quickly leaving the classroom.

The two other classes you had before lunch went pretty well. Surprisingly, you managed to make some friends who also had the same lunch period as you. You smiled as you walked to lunch with them, enjoying the mindless chatter going on between the lot of you, feeling a sense of normalcy for the first time since you moved to Savannah.

"WHAT?! YOU ACTUALLY TALKED TO HER?!" Ben screamed.

"Shhhhh! Keep your voice down!" Juliette ducked her head down and glanced around the lunch room, looking for any sign of you.

"Well, you can't blame me! You never talk to any of your crushes, you usually spend weeks trying to talk to them." Ben chuckled. Juliette however, cringed at the thought.

"Well, I was kind of thrown right into it, she bumped into me coming out of Principal Waters' office.” Juliette folded her arms.

"Woah, bitch, you had a whole rom-com moment!" Ben said excitedly.

"What? No..." Juliette blushed intensely.

"I don't even know if she likes girls, or if she likes me, for that matter..." Juliette confessed.

"Girl... does that girl seem straight to you?" Ben looks at Juliette pointedly, causing her to laugh.

"Hey, you can't judge a book by its cover." Juliette shrugged and played with her food, not actually eating it.

She was a prime example of that saying, she thought, with a feeling of guilt.

"I guess..." Ben shrugged.

"Hey, isn't that her?"

Juliette's head whipped around, her heart racing fast as she looked around to see your face.

She heard Ben laugh loudly behind her and she slapped his arm as her face turned red for probably the seventh time today.

"You suck." She rolled her eyes, a small smile teasing at her lips.

You walked into the cafeteria with your friends and immediately looked around, trying to spot Juliette.

You spotted her facing a boy with his head thrown back in a fit of laughter.

You excused yourself from your friends for a moment, promising to find them in a bit, and made your way over to Juliette and the boy, causing the boy to perk up when he noticed you.

"Now she's actually here," Ben said as you approached them.

"I'm not falling for that again." Juliette said, crossing her arms.

"Falling for what?" You said, causing Juliette to jump up in surprise and turn around to look up at you quickly.

"Oh, y/n! You're here!" Juliette said, her voice cracking a bit and her face red from her seemingly constant blush.

"Yes, I am." You chuckled and sat down next to her.

"Um, y/n, this is my best friend since childhood, Ben." Juliette introduced you to the boy sitting across from her.

"Ah, nice to meet you." You greeted him with a smile.

"Nice to meet you, too, I've heard a lot about you from Juliette over here," Ben said, smirking.

You caught Juliette giving him a death glare before turning to you and chuckling nervously.

"He's just joking, I talked about you a normal amount." Juliette quickly clarified.

"Hey, I'm not complaining! It's nice to be remembered." You said with a smile.

"How could anyone ever forget you?" Juliette said softly, causing your heart to race.

You felt your face heat up and you looked down with a smile before looking back into Juliette's eyes.

"That's very sweet, thank you." You expressed genuinely.

Juliette blushed heavily and mumbled "It's no problem…" before looking at Ben who seemed to be trying to wordlessly tell her something.

"Oh! Uh, there's this party tonight at Noah Harrington's house. I'm going to be there with Ben… if you wanna come, too?" Juliette asked hesitantly.

You think about it for a moment before responding.

"Sure, why not?" You say, smiling as Juliette's eyes light up, with Ben silently celebrating in the background.

What a great wingman you thought to yourself.

"Alright, I made some friends today and I promised I would sit with them, so sadly I've got to go, but I guess I'll see you guys at the party tonight?" You said as you got up from the table.

"Yeah, definitely!" Juliette said, nodding.

"It was nice to meet you, Ben!" You said, nodding at the boy.

"You too!" He said with a smile.

As you walked away from the table you heard Ben speak up when you were a considerable distance away.

"You wanna fuck her so bad it makes you look stupid." He laughed.

"Ben shut up!" You heard Juliette yell, causing you to chuckle to yourself.

When you arrived at the party you went to get a drink right away before looking for Juliette and Ben.

You finished half of your semi-full cup before finding Juliette and Ben talking to each other with smiles on their faces.

Juliette looked adorable in a semi-short, casual form-fitting dress, and platform boots.

You make your way towards them and catch Ben's eye.

"Oh, y/n, hey!" Ben greets you.

Juliette turns around as you wave at Ben.

"Hey guys, what's up?" You smiled at both of them.

"Hey, you actually came!" Juliette said.

"Of course I did, why wouldn't I?" You asked her.

"I don't know actually..." She said sheepishly.

You laughed a bit before speaking again.

"There could’ve been a multitude of reasons why I wouldn't have come, actually, but I wouldn't leave you hanging, of course." You nudged her with your elbow gently, causing her to blush.

"Well, ladies, I think I spot a cute boy over there, so it's time for me to go work my magic." Ben said, wiggling his eyebrows and hips.

"Oh god,” Juliette said, chuckling.

"Woooo go Ben!" You cheered as he bowed and made his way over to the boy.

"Well, that's Ben for ‘ya." Juliette giggled causing your heart to soar.

"So... how are you liking Savannah so far?" Juliette asked, watching you take a swig of your drink.

"Hmm, I miss home obviously, but it's not too bad here. I've met some pretty cool people…" You winked at her.

A light blush seemed to coat her skin for the millionth time since you met her. It was endearing.

You suddenly felt a burst of courage. You couldn't tell if it was from the alcohol, or if you just couldn't take it any longer, but you chugged the rest of your drink and grabbed Juliette's hand, causing her to let out a little surprised yelp.

You quickly guided her through the party into a closet and pushed her inside, closing the door behind the two of you.

"Y/n, what-"

You cut Juliette off by pressing your lips to hers.

The kiss was full of passion as well as a bit of hunger and desperation.

Your hands cupped her face, feeling heat radiating from her cheeks.

You pulled away for air, your forehead pressed against Juliette's. The space didn't last long though, because Juliette pressed her lips back against yours, her body pushing your back up against the door.

"Jules..." You gasped lightly in between her breathtaking hungry kisses.

"Fuck, say my name again." Juliette groaned.

You grabbed her waist, flipping the two of you around and pushing her up against the door.

"Juliette." You whispered into her neck, starting to leave open-mouthed kisses on her neck.

She moaned, her back arching, causing her to push her body up into yours.

You had no clue how you were doing this in nearly complete darkness, with only a sliver of light coming through the closet; there was just enough light for you to make out Juliette's face. You didn't care, though.

All you could focus on was the fact that Juliette's hands were running all over your body, squeezing your ass and pulling you up against her.

Your hands, which rested on her hips, started to move downwards, squeezing her ass, earning a loud moan from Juliette.

"Shhhhh, we don't want anyone to hear us in here." You chuckled into her neck as you slipped one of your hands under her dress.

"You didn't drain me..." You said, confusion lacing your voice.

"Then why did you bite me?" You asked her, your heart racing.

"I- I couldn't control myself, it's just..." She looked down for a second trying to collect herself before her eyes met yours again.

⭐ Chapter 8

This is another Yorick chapter, & it's also the final chapter before we reach "season 1, episode 1!" (yes, it took me 8 chapter to wrap up the "childhood arc")

It's weird, because I have many feelings about this chapter, but I am not sure how to articulate them? I will attempt, though! So, Yorick, like, he gets a taste of normal male interaction throughout a chunk of chapter 8. He's at Storm's End for His Boy Borros's wedding, & Borros's Boys™️are there, & they like him/accept him into the group as "Borros's weird younger cousin who he likes a lot, so we'll be nice to him." And I love Borros & His Boys™️so much. Devoid of context they are in a comedy, actually. Like, in the same way that, devoid of context, pre!Reek Theon is hilarious.

During his interactions with Borros & His Boys™️Yorick actually, like, comes out of his anxiety shell that he's been developing since he got forced to be Daemon's squire. They go on a "stag weekend" hunting trip, & just, like...they're all so regular. They're so regular. Yorick doesn't know what to do with himself because they aren't assholes to him like his dad or the City Watch, & they treat him like your average pre-teen with autonomy & opinions unlike Viserys. He gets his first sip of beer, I'm pretty sure he inadvertently gets The Talk just because all these late teens/early 20s guys are trying to Out-Chad each other. And he smiles, like, he smiles big & genuine & happy for the first time since he was, like, seven. He jokes with them! It's just...it is so wholesome & I want to live in the opening sequence of Chapter 8. I don't care that I, personally, don't like hunting: nothing can hurt you or be bad in the opening sequence of chapter 8! Don't look at the title being "Toppled Tower" or where we fall in the timeline of Alicent's life. That isn't important. And we can ignore Viserys. This isn't about him! Come back here, wholesome moments from Yorick having healthy male bonding!

Borros And His Nasty Boys (affectionate name because of events that happen surrounding later events) are absolutely delightful to me. They aren't "favorite side character" status, but they're good:

Borros Baratheon is simply, the most 20-year-old guy ever & he's taking his younger, first cousin once-removed under his wing to be a beacon of emotional safety purely because "he thinks I'm cool, & also he seems really lonely." He makes sure Yorick gets included in things & he laughs at his jokes & he's the aforementioned "giver of the first beer" (don't pay attention to the fact Yorick is 12. This is Westeros, it's fine)

Rory Dondarrion is accidentally relevant because I forgot Criston's dad worked for his family, & he's just Borros's more literate, less bombastic cousin who actually stops & things about things, but then still decides to go along with Borros for the laugh of it & also because "we are friends & you stick with your friends." And he just...he shows his love by making fun of you. Because he's just, like, a misplaced modern UK idiot boy who wears ugly street clothes & goes to the pub & unironically chants "LADS!" with his friends when he gets drunk

Symon Lonmouth is there so someone besides Laenor cares about Joffrey, & he's arguably the same archetype as Rory, but in a way more toned down way. He makes dumb jokes with his little brother, & he shows care for the people around him, & he takes things a bit too seriously because it's all fun & games until Yorick makes a dark joke & then he has no idea what to do with himself because he wants to be taken seriously so bad that it's silly.

Kevan Tarth, simply put, wants what Harwin Strong has. He wants to be chadly & universally hot, & he's not not successful at flirting, he's also just, like, 16. You are not going to be a gigachad at 16. Also, he is the cousin of Vaemond Velaryon's wife! That's not relevant to his character, but it is fun!

Not part of the regular friend group, but I also need to talk a little about the brothers of Borros's wife: the Caron brothers do not have characters, not really. The Caron brothers exist so I could name them after Peter & Edmund Pevensie, & proceed to give them that same age gap.

Chapter 8...chapter 8. I don't think it's one of my favorites (not to say I dislike it, I just have favorite chapters), but it does have a favorite sequence. A sequence of all time. I wanted to have quotes in this one, because I like when I can have quotes, but I would just be pasting the majority of the hunting trip into this ask 😅

🚨 Cutting: I tried to get out of a relationship with a younger cutter after nothing I tried to do/say helped. She used to send me pics of her scars and once on facetime, she had freshly cut LARGE cuts along her forearm and I almost vomited...never did I tell her that it was good. Young ones cut, but it doesn't (usually) last into adulthood, which is when those most damaged often turn to other coping mechanisms. No destructive coping mechanism is a good thing, but as for advice on this, I don't have any bc everyone is different and there's no universal bandaid for trauma. I'd tell you to stop, but I know I don't have any purchasing power there. Just be safe🌻✨

It feels pretty strongly implied that demons can recover from pretty much ANY kind of injury, and Mammon more or less confirms they have much higher tolerances for pain.

They're all thousands of years old and though they don't get into it now, early Devilgrams and chats have mentions of the brothers straight up murdering lesser demons for minor offenses.

Every so often you'll get the chance to call Lucifer or someone else out on being wicked or evil (usually when they're just being a dick). And they will often respond with "I'm a demon"

But there's... there's another thing, and I hope you don't mind this topic, it's kinda heavy. If it's too much, you can go ahead and ignore this.

Erm... self harm warning? Ha...

That was the thing. Is the thing. That I started doing due to that friendship. I think it was curiosity more than anything.

...I don't have depression. Anxiety, yes, and sometimes I get frustrated at myself/my disorder, but not depression. I'm not suicidal either. Sometimes I hurt myself when I'm stressed or anxious, sometimes I do it just because... I need to. I need to and I like it and no one tells me why it's wrong. Why is it wrong?? I honestly don't understand. I'm careful; scratching and biting doesnt cause anything severe... and I'm careful otherwise. I'm not hurting anyone else. I'm not depressed. I'm not suicidal. I just like it and it- it... I'm such a freak, ugh, but I can't help the fact that I like it.

I don't do it all the time, it's kind of an off-and-on thing. Just whenever I have the urge.

And my mom... maybe at some point I might've considered telling her, but now I know that I never will. She's made some comments recently about cutters that... they aren't rude or anything, they just show that she'll never understand me. And I don't want to risk emotionally hurting her because she won't understand.

...why is it wrong? No one can answer me. All that comes out of it is relief, even if it isn't exactly the best means. So what's wrong with it?

I've told a number of my friends, actually, and I can tell they don't know what to do. I have one friend who occasionally asks me how I'm doing in regards to that, but I can tell they just... are lost. Don't want to deal with it because they don't know what to do.

I don't want to be stopped. But... maybe if someone could understand me for once and tell me why it's wrong, maybe that person would be able to convince me...

The only thing that stops me before I do it (besides lacking energy/a true desire to do it)... Ugh, this is going to sound so pathetic. Relying on someone who doesn't even exist. But it's Saeyoung... sometimes just imagining his face gives me pause; I hesitate.

But he's not real. Even if he was, who's to say he'd be able to give me an answer?

Maybe I'll never find anyone who can convince me. That's... that's fine. I don't want to be stopped. I only know destructive means of releasing anger, and tearing paper doesn't work that well. Biting my hand, however, brings immediate calm.

I did it right in front of my mom out of habit during an argument which was stressing me out. Immediate relief. She didn't even realize what I was doing.

Self-Harm is a dangerous thing to pick up. It doesn’t just mean cutting. It means that you could deny yourself things or bite yourself or crawl at your skin. It’s not something to feel ashamed of or feel guilty about because feelings are very hard to deal with in a healthy way when you don’t have a safe space or people that you can reach out to that can show you better ways to cope with your pain and depression. So, I hope that you know that you’re not a bad person and that it will get better in your life. 

This is something that is going to take some time to work on. You’re not hurting anyone but yourself, dear. Nobody deserves to suffer or feel horrible. I’m sorry that you’ve been hurting and that nobody has been able to gently guide you and show you that life can be worth living when you know where to start to help yourself feel better again. One doesn’t have to have depression per se to have struggles with self-harm, either. 

I’m sorry that you don’t feel safe enough to open up to your family about this, or your friends. Self-harm is addictive, and it’s very hard to stop once you’ve had the time to start it. It’s harmful to you. Do you deserve to be hurt? No. You don’t. Nobody does. You’re looking for something to help you feel something other than numbness, and yes, pain is a feeling that one can have but it’s not the feeling that you need. 

I don’t want to scold you or shame you, so I hope that my tone is coming across gently because I do worry about you! I worry about anyone that is struggling with so much pain in their heart on their own. I know how hard that is. The answer that you’re looking for is for someone to tell you that you matter, that your life matters, that your existence matters. It does. I promise you that it does mean something to many people. 

You can’t wait for someone to tell you that all the time, but I understand that people want to hear it from the ones that they love the most. There’s no right thing to tell you other than that I hope that you know that you can find better ways to cope with your pain. It’s harmful because it isn’t helping you sort out your feelings. It’s just hurting you in more ways than you’re able to see. 

If you would like to know better ways to cope with self-harm, I can direct you to some better coping mechanisms and references that you can check out. I’ve had many people tell me that biting into lemons or drinking something really tart can jolt you out of feeling numb. That’s one of the major things with self-harm, trying to feel something that isn’t numbness. My fiance stands by submerging your face in ice water for a few seconds to deal with his urges. He’s a few years into his recovery, so I trust him with that theory. 

There are other ways to be mindful and help yourself. I promise. If you want to talk more, I’m always here and I’m always willing to listen to whatever you have to say. If you just need a void to scream into, just let it out. Your mother may not understand, but if you’re old enough, you can speak to your doctor about getting someone to talk to about this. I think 16 is the minimum age or that in many of the states. 

Now, for the other half of what you said. Don’t feel ashamed for coping with a character. In many cases, that’s the only outlet that many young people have to hold onto you. The only reason that I, for example, was able to deal with what happened to me throughout my childhood and recently, my adulthood, was the fact that I could clutch onto a character to feel better. I still do it. I close my eyes and imagine that comfort character reassuring me. It’s not silly, it’s not wrong, and if it helps you, don’t let anyone make you feel bad. 

I’m so very self-insert and OC positive because I know how important it is for people to cope with their pains and woes. Sometimes, you just want to flirt with a cute character, or you want to be cherished, and you find that in a character. I think that’s sweet. Our brains don’t go “fictional” or “real”, if you love something or someone, that love is tried, true, and real. You love him. That’s real, and he would want you to be happy and taken care of. 

That’s real. Saeyoung wants you to be happy and wants you to be able to live your life. He’s always willing to listen if you need to write to him. I do that at times, just writing out how I feel and how I know Saeran would talk to me back about it. They empathize and understand your pain. They would want you to feel okay but they would never shame you for hurting. Nobody should. I hope that you can feel better in the future and that you always remember that things will be okay. 

Fight for yourself and for your happiness, easier said than done, but I believe in you! I actually wrote a writing trade for someone who has similar struggles if you would like to read that with Saeyoung.

A very vague description on who she was talking about, kind of a “if you knew, you knew” to get it off her chest. She stated that this guy she had talked to had been talking to her ever since she was 16 and kept her in arm’s length because he felt lonely. He called her a good back up because he was messing around with his best friend’s (Russ’) girlfriend (Red) at the time. She goes on how to say they broke it off when she got older and she tried to get an apology later and tried to start over as just friends but he didn’t change.

June 20th, Cry uploaded this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4E5B0-8q2E& talking about how he’s “Made mistakes” and glosses over the fact he LITERALLY ADMITS grooming 16 year olds and cheating with his best friend’s girl. 

Cheyenne tweeted that she found out he had been cheating all of the time they had been together and skyped sexed someone on his birthday who was another 16 year old minor. More survivors have come out after that, Auri, and a few others. Others have spoken about weird scenarios they have been in with Cry as well but wish not to be called survivors of this.

Auri, she used to be an artist that was just in the fandom, was asked for photos when she was underage by Cry. When she had told him that she was underage, he did back away, but he would still talk to her. Beckens, an old mod of the LNC, has stated that she is not a survivor of this. Though, people have suggested that she may have helped cover things up. 

Magenta, an old artist in the fandom, has also made a statement that her and Cry have been basically a FWB and she’s never felt uncomfortable around him either. She does mention that she knew Cry was a pervy guy and the whole reason their FWB started is because he sent a picture of his privates to her while they were discussing porn. Once she heard allegations, she confronted him but he simply told her he didn’t know because age never came up. smnius, an old artist in the fandom, has also made a statement. With no age disclosed due to person reasons, Smnius explains that when they first started talking, it was friendly and he’d flirt occasionally but he’d just brush it off back in 2013. Russ’ tells that Cry had cheated on Cheyenne. He was told they could no longer play games with but other than that, they were never given any details. He then goes on to explain how Red, back in the hey day of LNC, had confessed to cheating on him with her boss and with Cry. He then goes on to state that he had brought Angel around the LNC because they had been friends. They would send good morning messages, become sexual and flirty with each other, and had a good time. Cry is trying to shift blame onto the crew members and insist they knew all about his illegal activities when they state they haven’t had a clue. Fortunately, distraction seemed within reach, as Theon discovered a book in Maester Luwin’s library, maybe solving their problem. Promising the opportunity to travel back in time and experience one of the big battles again, they’d fought in the past.

But mixing the ingredients, something went wrong and instead of arriving back on the field of the second Battle of the Dawn, they found themselves in Berlin of the 21st century, still wearing their thick furs and understanding not a single word.

Putting their hopes in a certain dark-haired goldsmith from California, who kindly takes them in, they tried their best to somehow find their way back home and find a lot more in the process.
