In the wake of the second Trump election, my biggest goal is to stop caring what people think of me.
In high school, I was a freak. Nobody normal was going to like me. So I might as well sing in public and dress like an idiot and say whatever I thought. But stayed in the closet.
But the weird thing was .... that worked. Normies started to like me. Popular girls started flirting with me. But I was too afraid of normies to pursue any of those relationships. (and I needed those relationships. the other freaks actually weren't great friends.)
In college, I made a new set of friends with theater kid-level eccentrics. It was the most stable, supportive community I'd ever had in my life.
And I freaked out. I started having panic attacks. I couldn't afford to lose this level of safety. I treasured my friends, but was too afraid or inept to meet new people or join clubs.
I didn't really stop being eccentric. Everyone at my school was eccentric, and my friends knew what they had signed up for by befriending me.
But I had tasted some level of normal. And the culture was changing around me. Suddenly, a bisexual girlboss was the chic-est thing you could be. I could probably never be normal, but if I played it right, I could be high-status among normies.
More panic attacks. More isolation. More rejection. Suicidal thoughts.
I've wrestled down a lot of it, but I've basically been at that level. I dream of being a twitter-famous girlboss, but I squish myself into tinier and tinier crevices.
Looking at where the world is headed, I don't know if I can stay on my path. (Is it a path? "path" implies forward motion.)
The moral thing to do in Trump's America is probably to become a criminal. I'm a woman with shrinking rights. I'm queer with shrinking rights. The mainstream understanding of the world seems to be drifting away from my reality. It feels like floor could drop out from under me at any moment.
I need to have faith that I know who I am, despite what others believe. I have to have faith that there will be some people who love me -- or that if I find myself isolated, I'll be strong enough to be temporarily alone. I have to stop being seduced by the sparkling approval of popular girls.

unfriendly reminder that the whole “everyone is actually bi/pan/-insert other mspec label-” take isn’t some cool revolutionary hot take, it just reinforces homophobia. If you want to talk about the fact that a lot more people are bi without realizing it because of social stigma around being anything but straight, systematic homophobia, and lack of understanding about the orientation, go ahead! That is a thing that does happen with some people, which is shown by a lot of mspec people who have talked about their experience with this phenomena themselves! But don’t reinforce the idea that everyone can actually be attracted to all genders. You will hurt people who are exclusively attracted to the same gender. Even if you meant to just make straight people question things more, they aren’t the only ones what you are saying effects when you say that type of shit. Not everyone can experience opposite/different gender attraction. And the idea that we all can is a very homophobic one that has been pushed towards a lot of gays and lesbians for a very long time to convince them to “stop being gay/lesbian” and just date the gender it’s seen as socially acceptable for them to date. Some people are ONLY attracted to people who are the same gender as them.

So for obvious reasons I have been thinking about IWTV a lot recently, and thinking about the books a lot. I was OBSESSED with The Vampire Chronicles when I was in middle school, into early high school.
But something that I think may not really be clear to people reading them now, or to people who only know the show, is that there's a reason the books got away with being so incredibly queer and being Bestsellers in the 70s, 80s and 90s: there was no sex.
If you're unaware, in the books, Anne Rice's vampires cannot have sex. They are impotent, sex in the human way is just not a drive they have anymore. Instead physical connection is all about sharing blood. (For the record I think the show is right to have changed this. It's not worried about censorship on that front and having sex as part of the relationships makes them way easier to communicate to the audience.)
So while the books are very homoerotic, homoromantic, and at times quite suggestive, they never have on page sexual activity, they never label relationships with explicit romantic terms like lover or husband, characters never declare their sexuality. (In early books at least.)
What this meant is that The Vampire Chronicles existed in this Plausible Deniability space where anyone who had read them realized they were gay, but they weren't LABELED AS SUCH and therefore mainstream audiences didn't know that was part of it.
So me and my friends could be 11 or 12 carrying these books around our Catholic school and didn't get anything said about it. One of my English teachers had read the first one, and we talked about it, and her only complaint was that it wasn't philosophical enough for her. But she was cool.
So, I KNEW Louis and Lestat were in love. I knew Lestat had male and female lovers. And it affected me PROFOUNDLY because it was the first depiction of queerness as anything but a joke I ever encountered.
But it wasn't "gay fiction." If it was the target of right wing criticism it was about being satanic, not queer.
I was thinking of the 4th book in the series, which I read when it was first released, in 1992. In it, (spoilers) Lestat becomes human again. And he turns to his human openly gay friend David and says "omg I'm human. Let's HAVE SEX!"
Reading that and the fucking THIRD EYE that opened for me is BURNED into my memory. I remember how scandalous that was, because it was ON THE PAGE. Here was a book with men talking about having sex with each other. And I was reading it! And it was just casual and nonchalant. (Unfortunately they don't actually do it, to my young disappointment.) Despite all the queerness that i'd experienced (and recognized) already in the series, THAT was shocking.
You can't know what that was LIKE to a kid in 1992, before the internet was anything more than bulletin boards, before fanfiction online was really a thing. And these weren't niche novels, things only people in liberal literary circles read. They were massive, massive bestsellers.
IDK, you know. I have given Anne Rice a LOT of shit in my time, and she's deserved a lot of it. But she also performed some miracles of representation that affected a lot of people. IDK if I even have a point. Just. I was remembering what it felt like. To encounter a gay character in fiction for the first time, talk about gay sex for the first time.
I don't think it's an accident that me and my friend who shared this obsession both ended up being bi. We passed the books back and forth and pointed out the really juicy sections and other people were never quite as into these books as we were even when we made them read them.

Okay, if you were asked who are in Merlin BBC & Voltron that you can see based on canon that are gay/bi/pan/demi, which characters are they? Why?
What a fun ask I'm totally not doing to procastinate on cooking... XD
BBC Merlin
Arthur Pendragon is, in my head, demiromantic and bisexual... It sort of depends on the circumstances/episode. Arthur needs a very long time to really feel connections with people and only starts to consider love after he really gets to know them, hence his constant search for true love in the show. With Merlin I'm not entirely sure if he was attracted to him instantly, strangely enough feeling a connection from the moment they met, or if it takes him till the end of the series when Merlin confesses his magic and finally shows his true self to realise the depth of his feelings.
Merlin is, well... Bi Bi Bi. A disaster bi in fact. With a preference for sweaty men in metal boxes, he's not very peculiar. However, Merlin is a one person hyperfixation kind of guy. Most people are convinced that Merlin's gay.
Gwen: I feel like most people in BBC Merlin are bi and Gwen is no exception. Like Merlin, she prefers the hero type in metal uniforms. But she also had a thing for Morgana in the beginning.
Morgana: lesbian. I have never seen a woman so disinterested in men, I'm not surprised that they casted Katie McGrath in supergirl as supergirls love interest. I might settle for homoromantic and asexual. But definitly in love with Gwen in the very beginning.
Sir Leon, my beloved, the immortal, the one and only, the eternal suffering aro/ace. I don't have to explain this one. The only counter moment is the Lamia episode where Leon suddenly develops interest in women out of nowhere. My personal take is that anyone could be fallen under a Lamia's spell, this one just had a taste for men (and male presenting).
Sir Elian: once upon a time I clocked them as nonbinary and sadly that's as far as I thought into this character. Pretty sure he's aromantic. He/they pronouns. I dunno, I don't think Elian would conform to anything if given a choice. Aromantic too, I think. Like Leon, there is no interest there, but he does play around with Percival and Gwaine quite often, so I'd take that as allosexual.
I am excluding Gwaine because I think canon Gwaine is written as a straight oblivious fuckboy. Albeit a kind one XD fanon Gwaine is often poly/ pan... Or into apples. Lmao XD and I'm not sure about Percival because the man has a dead wife and kids.
Voltron
Keith: with his lack of interest in women, he can only be gay. That man looks at no one quite the same as he looks at Lance. what the hell was the whole bonding thing if not a hint for post canon klance? Sorry, not sorry XD rivals to best friends to lovers.
Lance: *bi bo bi* bisexual lighting Lance. Doesn't matter if you prefer klance or shallura, this man is a walking bi flag. I don't know what you mean by proof, just look at this wiggly boy with the fingerguns. He can't even sit straight! Can't do math either. He's perfect!
Tumblr media
Shiro: probably the only character in my entire history of shipping that I would unqueer without feeling bad about it. I know he's gay, I just don't really see it in the writing. Of course there aren't always clear signs that someone is gay which is why this is good rep actually (+he's married), but you asked me for proof in the show and all I see is that this man is a dad. That's his gender and his orientation and that's all I really need to know.
Pidge: aro/ace because I love my aroaces and this child loves robots and robots only. Also nonbinary/genderqueer. Pronouns: fuck/off XD
I think Lotor should have been bi. Pre-canon Lotor had us Langsters ship Lotor x Lance and it was so much fun :D
Bob: gender: evil, orientation: villain. I hate this guy
Coran: the georgous man is either gay or pan. More likely pan because I vaguely remember he had a son?
I hope I answered your question reasonably enough XD thank you for the ask, anon :3

Dimitri 3houses: 16, 11, 17 and 19 :)
11. Would you date this character?
There would be a lot of competition, even if he is poly-friendly, but post-AM/AG he's rich and powerful and likely easy to wrangle money out of, so sure. Might be some complications with the whole superpowered Blaiddyd dick issue, but I am nothing if not creative in bed.
16. What’s your least favorite ship for this character?
Hmm, probably Dimileth, and not just because I dislike Avatars and Avatar ships in general. M/F Dimileth is the most popular pairing in the fandom although its fans have generally been removed from the discourse...but people who hate Dimitri still assume that everyone they're attacking ships and self-inserts onto M/F Dimileth anyway.
M/M Dimileth meanwhile mostly just confuses me. What's even the point when the games are filled with other men to ship Dimitri with who can, among other things, actually carry on two-way conversations with him? Yes, self-insert fantasies and all that...but that's such a shallow angle when held up against the meatiness of Dimidue, Dimilix, Dimiyuri, Dimivain, Dimiashe, etc.
17. What’s a ship for this character you don’t hate but it’s not your favorite that you’re fine with?
Dimilix, which I've talked up in a few videos and posts although I don't read fic or look for art of them. Angsty swordsmen have never done much for me.
19. How about a relationship they have in canon that you don’t like?
I wish there were more to like about Dimitri and Claude, but it never feels quite there. Claude's just a dead fish when it comes to gay subtext, and the two interact so infrequently across both games that I just can't see it. Remember back in 2018-19 when we all thought this would be the second coming of Eliwood/Hector? Yeah, that didn't happen...but I'm not disappointed when Dimitri came away with boatloads of homoromantic content anyway.

EDIT:: title of this poll should say "which of these do you think is the correct definition of that term?"
- please take this in good faith. i don't want anyone spamming the tags with anti-mspec lesbian stuff, i'm just trying to see what the community definition of this label is.
- bi lesbians reading this, there's another poll here you can also vote on!
- no, there's no "multiple/all of the above" option. if you're torn between two, pick the one you think fits Best/is the most accurate definition of bi lesbian
- yes, all of these are definitions of bi lesbian i have actually seen people using
- nope, not a bi lesbian myself, just curious about how people are using this label!
you know the drill, rb for sample size

day 15 - music ! i have quite a bit for this one. item 1: unfinished storyboard i made a while ago! the song is lonely eyes by the front bottoms :) item 2: lyric comic i made during digital art class! it's a different au from what i usually post of john and colin but still. song is nights like these by pigeon pit :) item 3: drawing based on lyrics ! yippee. song is tall black trees by pigeon pit.
And here's a character playlist for the both of them: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvMPESsWlYRcveDMBU7vjSBoK2srwEm6x
And a lil guide to it (i could elaborate on these song choices but i won't): Colin (gen) - mamma told me, oh you, hell above, milk crates, mushrooms, bitter choco decoration Colin (towards John) - nerve, the vampire, my corpse friend, ghost boys, darkest heart John (gen) - trees ii, mawce, brave as a noun, goodbye declaration, shadow (i'm breaking down) John (towards Colin) - i don't smoke, too close, lonely eyes, overgrown garden, lost kitten, vampire empire, bathtub mermaid, fool, poison, disasterology, real men, world.execute(me);, parasite, opium, it's you, a human's touch, icicles, it should've been me, i needed you/you needed time, why didn't you stop me, the desolation of spring, the girl who faded away, tall black trees Dawsey (about him in any sense) - the bird song, twelve feet deep, awkward conversations, jet pack blues, bulletproof love misc (NOT just vibes based but i can't put a category to it) - killer (could be anyone), weathergirl (probably john but dawsey has a heavy association with rain), i left my towel... (same as weathergirl)
(prompt list)
CWs for content below in the lyric comic and the storyboard: smoking, alcohol use, implied alcoholism, suicide attempt in one of them (it's reiterated right above), just. a lot of angst lmao
Tumblr media
but first, here's the drawing without the lyrics in the way :) he's in colin's room! lots of ways to tell that here lmao. also i was initially coloring/shading with my nightlight on but thankfully it actually looks closer to what i was trying to achieve without it on lmao
next is lonely eyes storyboard! CW: alcohol use, smoking, implied alcoholism, suicide attempt, rough falling out, and john has his top off on the last page. he's very underweight and has s/h scars (though there just kinda lines here). so if you're uncomfortable with that maybe scroll past.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
one of the panels on the third page was added in like yesterday. bc i forgot a line somehow. anyway i think this song summarizes their story p well. never finished the boards though. you might recognize dawsey from prev days but there's also jackson (in the fedora but not john) and their boss (guy with the hair bun)
next is the night like these lyric comic! CW: smoking, alcohol use, implied alcoholism. couple of idiots thinking they're not doing enough for the other. artstyle goes back and forth between two alternatives lmao
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
my favorite bit is how the "you" points to john :) since the concept behind this story is an aro (bisexual) and an ace (homoromantic) trying to navigate a strange relationship in the 1960s i felt like the "fuck i'm sorry you feel all alone" line really fit. also even in the choruses i devoted to each of them you can tell how they're opposites. like with the framing of pages 3 and 7 specifically. this lyric comic is also where i figured out a lot of things. like colin's nose and how his ahoge always points to john. man i could say a lot more about this lyric comic

Hello again!
Okay I'm just here for a chat (if thats okay) (i think you're lovely!)
There are some stuff about the show that really bother me you know... First of all in season 4 What Happens to John Watson.. like he is simply characterized by loyalty right it is who he is, then HOW does he cheat on Mary?! (Okay granted that his heart was elsewhere... ahem. But he's just not someone who would cheat)
Also i think Mary shouldn't be a villain... i know she possibly looks like it messes up Johnlock but i think its the opposite actually. I think John is bisexual and his love for her was real but she was basically a Sherlock substitute who looked like him (John)! Plus, she was there when he was at rock bottom so. But what doesn't make sense is her shooting Sherlock in the chest?! What's up with that!
Okay but the Weirdest part is in the last episode when Sherlock has to choose between John and Mycroft and finally choses to shoot himself... BOTH John and Mycroft do Nothing?? HOW
AAAAA the Last Season was SO much angst.. i think this fandom saved me <3
In my head It was love at first sight... and then slowly falling head over heels crazy in love with your best friend and all of it culminating in the most beautiful TV Romance.
(okay im sorry i think i ranted a bit)
Hi Lovely!
Inbox is always open for a chat (even if it takes me a long time to get to it, LOL), so no worries!
Let's address each of you things one by one:
What HAPPENS to John Watson – Your guess is as good as mine, Lovely, and it's a lot of the reason a lot of us can't take S4 seriously. It feels so OOC for John to cheat on Mary with ANY other woman, other than Sherlock (hence it being part of the Alibi theory, this part of it referencing SHERLOCK as being the one John is actually texting in the night), so many of us just don't think that S4 is what it appears to be on the surface. Of course, it could all just be a coping mechanism to deal with how dirty a beloved series did it's fandom, but we take what we can get, honestly.
As for villain Mary, I have to respectfully disagree, only because I believe that I think they were setting her up in S3 to BE a kickass antagonist for S4. Amanda ALSO thought they were going that route for a bit until (my speculation) things went sour with MF, AND they built up her character as a psychopath imho. Then they made her character attempt a piss-poor redemption arc that just... really soiled S4 for me because I firmly believe that John would have NEVER forgiven Mary for trying to kill Sherlock after seeing what it did to him the first time.
But to your point: John is bisexual, yes, but I don't think he's biromantic. I think he's homoromantic, and it's VERY played up in the series that this is the case: his blasé attitude about ALL his girlfriends, but pouncing around the close men in his life like a puppy? Heck, if Lestrade was single, I have NO doubt John would have taken his chances with him too, LOL. John is horny. That's literally the gist of it. He likes sex, he doesn't care what hole it goes in, just as long as he gets it. But I do think he forms VERY strong attachments to men in his life, and in turn he gets hurt, so he pretends he's not into men because it's "just easier" (you can read more posts about my and others' thoughts on John's sexuality here). He was with Mary because he was lonely, and Mary played him like a fiddle. She knew what John liked, and played that up. I believe it's even explicitly stated she knows what John likes. They only knew each other 6 months, CONVENIENTLY just before Sherlock was on his way back? Even ANDERSON picked up on Sherlock making his way back to London. I believe she was a Moriarty plant to see if John knew Sherlock was for-real dead, and she herself enjoyed the game and stealing and keeping John for herself away from Sherlock was part of that game upon the return. So yeah, I really have a hard time believing she OR John actually loved each other. I dunno, again, personal biases and readings of the series, apologies, LOL. I spent a LOT of time analysing Mary's character arc. But I WANTED her to be the big bad for S4, and it just... fizzled and died.
And finally, on your point about the weirdness of John nor Mycroft opting to stop Sherlock, yeah, have to agree with you there. TFP was a goddamned clustereff of WTF moments and mischaracterizations of literally every character on-screen. The only character NOT in character was Eurus and that's literally because they didn't know what to fucking do with her. TFP was so dumb. I have a hard time believing any of it actually happened the way it did on-screen. But yeah, S4 was a big disappointment for everyone including the actors. I think they only people who thought it was great was Mofftiss and that's because they love the smell of their own farts. I can't believe that they GENUINELY thought TFP was going to be Emmy-worthy (for those unaware, they initially planned to nominate TFP for the Emmy, and instead chose TLD, I believe, after the poor reception of TFP, and acted like they were always going to nominate TLD lol).
Anyway, yeah, it was full of angst, though my reasons for it are probably different than everyone else's, LOL. But the fandom IS fantastic, and that's why we stay here, and why I choose now to curate fandom content. Makes me happy, and keeps me out of drama, LOL.
Thank you so much for giving ME the opportunity to chat and rant! It's been so long since I've done mini meta, and posted my thoughts about everything. I like chatting.
Hope you're having a wonderful day, and sorry again for the delay! <3

Common mistakes made when arguing with exclus (and how to respond properly)
Hi mspec lesbians today I'm gonna talk about some things that exclus say often, the common responses that get nowhere, and how to properly respond (all joking btw)
#1: "Lesbians can't be attracted to men. If you're attracted to men in any capacity, you can't be a lesbian"
Incorrect reply ❌: Actually, I'm not attracted to men, I just recognize my attraction to multiple feminine and neutrally aligned genders as mspec
Correct reply ✅: (HEARTS, DIAMONDS,) I CAN DO ANYTHING!
Tumblr media
Exclus don't care about reason. Make deltarune references instead. Especially if you are an mspec lesbian attracted to men
#2: "I just don't get it though how does that work"
Incorrect reply ❌: *An actual detailed response explaining mspec lesbians*
Correct reply ✅: The FitnessGram™ Pacer Test is a Multistage Aerobic Capacity Test...
There are dozens of resources on mspec lesbians. This reply is especially helpful for when you've already tried explaining. They just won't get it if they don't wanna.
#3: "Maybe lesbian USED to include nonexclusive attraction, but that's in the past now!"
Incorrect reply ❌: While some bi people did choose to leave themselves, a lot of us were forced out by Gold Star lesbians instead of just by natural language progression. If you guys wanted or needed your own spaces, you should have made your own. I have a right to be here.
Correct reply ✅: When single shines the triple sun, what was sundered and undone, shall be whole, the two made one, by Gelfling hand, or else by none.
Tumblr media
When you explain things to exclusuonists, they plug their ears and ignore what you said. When you say cryptic shit, they have to think.
#4: "Why do you have to make everything so complicated with your identity?"
Incorrect reply ❌: I do not feel a single label properly explains my identity, and I feel all these labels fit my experience.
Correct reply ✅: Gotta catch 'em all
"Abro lesbian, I choose you!" *throws PokeLGBallT*
#5: "Just pick one!"
Incorrect response ❌: I can't just pick one. These labels all have a meaning to me and picking one feels like I'm picking between parts of myself.
Correct reply ✅: I don't have to. I don't have to do anything I don't want to do. Vice Principal Nero likes me best and there's a special beef and bean burrito with a little ribbon on it just for me.
You don't have to just pick a single label. No one fits neatly into one little box, and those of us who like boxes anyway are building our box forts. You don't owe an explanation to exclus beyond "I don't want to."
#6: "Liking women and nonbinary people doesn't count as mspec!"
Incorrect reply ❌: Yeah it does. Way to be transphobic and biphobic in one sentence.
Correct reply ✅: I consider that a dignified argument. Not really, it was actually quite pathetic. *aggressive banjo sounds*
Self explanatory why this reason sucks. 2+ genders = mspec. Even if those 2 genders are girl and demigirl, you can consider yourself mspec.
#7: "Mspec lesbians harm real lesbians and erase the meaning of the word lesbian"
Incorrect reply ❌: I am literally just existing
Correct reply ✅: Oogalie boogalie bitch
You can't fix stupid and convince them we don't hurt anyone. Embrace being the destroyer of lesbianism.
#8: "Just say homosexual/homoromantic if you use the SAM instead of lesbian, because lesbian is exclusive to people not attracted to men in any way"
Incorrect reply ❌: Not only do you not really mean that, because you actually only draw the line at sexual and romantic attraction, but that's the most ridiculous level of gatekeeping. No other lgbt label in the world has a requirement on both sexual AND romantic attraction except aroace and other -rose labels, but those are specifically combos FOR romantic and sexual attraction. No one should have to call themselves homo- instead of lesbian just because their romantic orientation is different than their sexual orientation. Plus that definition means every aroace woman and nonbinary person is a lesbian.
Correct reply ✅: How about no. *then you waddle away, waddle waddle waddle.*
Again, you owe nobody an explanation. You don't have to. Just say no.
#9: "Mspec lesbian labels contribute to real lesbians being harassed, assaulted, and (r-word that I won't type until I learn how to censor)"
Incorrect reply ❌: You're beyond hope. Someone who would assault someone either doesn't care about their orientation or is doing it specifically because they think the person isn't attracted to them and needs to be fixed. It is their own entitlement, ego, and lack of care for other people that leads to that happening, not teens identifying as bi lesbians. Let's pretend all straight men think all lesbians will like men. Not even straight women like every man they see. No one will claim "well because I am a lesbian who likes men, you now have to date men." That's the single stupidest thing a person could ever think. You'd be smarter unironically believing 2 + 2 = 5, the Earth is flat, and MH370 was hijacked by Russians than believing unironically that a single lesbian who doesn't like men at all would be forced to date men because a different lesbian did. Some lesbians like nonbinary people and some only like women, and the ones who only like women aren't forced to date nonbinary people. You single handedly bring down the average intelligence of all humanity by a significant margin.
Correct reply ✅: For a clownfish, you really aren't that funny.
Anyone stupid enough to believe this can't be reasoned with and they will hopefully never be in charge of anything. Don't waste your energy.
I can't think of a 10th so that's all folks

I didnt wanna harass your comments so ill ask here, I'd love to add Samson to my small growin collection of people's peeps in bg3 that I get to doodle randomly and with my own. But before I accidentally draw em in a way he wouldn't act, who's the boy?
I see The Good Doctor and can assume from that a bit, and don't worry if ya didnt think that much about it. I'm weird with a old dnd character of mine as my Tav so I think too much into Tavs and their stories and know not everyone does XD
That's so cool! I would be honored for Samson to be a part of that group and don't worry I've been working on his personality and backstory since before I had the game lmao
full warning I've never played D&D so stuff is probably gonna be but I did what I could with a basic map of Faerun and the internet lol
full name is Samson Silversten, high half elf bard, he/him, 31 y/o
he's a 6'4" beanpole with broad shoulders and a strong (well strong for 9 strength) back and upper arms; he's practically covered in light freckles and has heterochromia (his right eye is a rich brown and his left is a golden hazel)
he's demisexual homoromantic which is basically just he's only romantically attracted to men and can only be sexually attracted to someone he knows well and is good friends with, basically romantic feelings have to exist before he can feel remotely sexually attracted (I hope that made sense?)
the most self indulgent part of this character is that he's Irish (his human dad was) and in my head he sounds like Hozier, both speaking and singing
his preferred instrument is the violin but he can also play the lute
he's somewhere between lawful good and lawful neutral, basing most of his morals on the doctor's oath and code of ethics and trying so hard to avoid violence at all costs though he knows when it's necessary like with the goblins in Act 1
he's a bit of a hoarder; he keeps every weapon, article of clothing, tool, food and drink, and gold piece he finds, but he will happily toss all that aside to fill his inventory with any medicinal item, book, or magic artifact for Gale
at camp he can usually be found at his tent or by the lake engrossed in some necromantic tome or copying surgical illustrations from medical textbooks into his personal journal
he loves taking early morning swims before anyone else has woken up (he's shy lol)
he is soooooo autistic (as am I) and will often get frustrated by things he doesn't immediately understand, sometimes goes non-speaking for a bit if he's overstimulated (usually by mouth noises)
for a bard he's not particularly suave or charismatic, usually reserving flowery language for songs and poetry
his main passion is medicine, he wants to be a doctor so he can help anyone in need while also contributing to the progression of science, he also has an interest in necromancy but couldn't afford wizard tuition 😔
actually got all of his proper medical knowledge from the library and "borrowing" material from private institutions like Blackstaff (he actually did borrow them since he would break in again and return them after copying everything into his own journals)
his mom who was a sun elf taught him everything he knows about medicinal plants while his human dad taught him everything he knows about baking, although he can't cook for shit (thank god he marries Gale)
his other skills he picked up while working on a ship as a kid after his parents died include fishing, tying knots, navigating the stars, sailing, and swordfighting; he's especially good with a rapier
I can't reiterate enough how much he loves medicine and being a doctor he will help anyone in need of medical assistance like one time he wasted some salve and gauze on a rat in an alley cuz it was bleeding out from losing its foot; the rat lived lmao
he's very sweet and chooses to see the good in everyone, also fairly perceptive; Astarion didn't need to bite him for Sam to know he was a vampire he could tell as soon as they met but didn't say anything cuz it was Astarion's business to tell him
he gets flustered and shy very easily when people are obviously hitting on him, usually at a loss for words just goes beet red and wide eyed, tries everything he can to leave (Lae'zel: "I want to taste you" Samson: 🏃‍♂️💨)
I think that's about it sorry if it's a lot this isn't even the half of it lol
Thank you again for being interested in Samson! I appreciate you wanting to draw him and you've actually encouraged me to post some of the things I've written for him so I'll have to work on finishing those when I have a day off 💕

11, 20, 21, 29,
would you be interested into playing with doubles?
As I understand the question, this means... other Lucifers? I mean. I could. I haven't so far.
One hurdle to this is I get really bad duplicate anxiety. I may like someone's interpretation of Lucifer (regardless if it matches my own or not), and I may even take notes, cuz there's definitely food for thought to be had.
But even if I really really like someone's take on him, I end up playing the comparison game and it honestly takes a toll. So it's pretty rare that I even follow another Lucifer.
Tumblr media
what’s a ship you don’t want to roleplay at all with this muse? (except Bad Illegal And Gross Stuff, of course)
I mean, I can't really think of a no-no off the top of my head.
I am rather attached to my headcanon that he is exclusively heterosexual. Not because I'm homophobic (like no, I'm demi-homoromantic myself, the one person I've ever had romantic feelings for is a woman), but.... everyone else ships him with other men, so I just wanna be different.
Tumblr media
what do you think of your muse’s popular fandom ship?
Pretty sure that's radioapple....
I started out mildly liking it tbh. Not to the degree of shipping it, but then I think cuz I'm on the aromantic spectrum that I don't actually ship things without a deeper motivation?
In all honesty, fandom attitude surrounding that has turned me off to radioapple. And I hate that, cuz it makes me feel like I'm being kinda mean. But.... yeah.
what are your honest thought about your muse’s canon?
I mean.... canon hasn't done anything to piss me off yet. I don't have any issues with his canon.
This ain't a Dragon Ball Super situation where they made a fucking cash grab show that ignores established shit from 30 years ago and makes the main character a mere shadow of his former glory while flandarizing the absolute shit out of him.
At least.... not yet. And hopefully never.
Tumblr media
....whew. I think my bitterness towards modern Dragon Ball content came out a bit there.

The lesbians master doc is a crock of bullshit. You don't need to bang men for years to realize you exclusively like women. Do you need to date a person for a yr to realize they are not attractive??
Ignoring that fact is saying that gayness is socially constructed just as much as you are saying its socially constructed to like men. It is disgusting homophobia agaisnt bis and lesbians. It implies that you weren't born gay and didn't know it your whole life until later. Which is a load of bullshit. Just admit that you are in denial and allowed yourself to be smashed like a sack of potatoes by a dude in starfish position lol. I'm sure he appreciated dating a manipulating psychopath. You are the type of woman who ruins marriages.
Anyone putting up with men in a relationship for that long and is actually a lesbian is a mouth breathing trogdolyte who needs to do some soul searching before they start fucking things.
You are not only playing your "boyfriend", society, bisexuals and lesbians...but guess what. You are playing yourself.
It sounds like internalized biphobia masked as lesbianism to me. It's gross. You just like the word "lesbian" because you feel like we are more accepted with minorities. Guess what? we're NOT. Welcome to the party of everyone trying to erase us from existence. Including YOU. you self hating bis.
Either admit that you were in denial or say that you are bi. You can't play both sides and be 100% gay. You are most likely a homoromantic bi who hates herself for liking men sexually and now wants to bat for our team.
I refuse to let the lesbian label get watered down by self hating, Coward posers.
And my heart goes out to all the ex boyfriends of these so called " lesbians" who are going to be accused of r4pe. Goodluck.
Please soul search before you enter a relationship. Who gives a fuck what society thinks? No lesbian would ever allow herself to be in a long-term relationship or multiple relationships with men.
Speaking for all OG lesbians out there!

I've said it before but,
Kevin would use the split attraction model if he had the words (in canon he would just say he's bi). Towards women he's heterosexual aromantic, to men he's grey homosexual homoromantic. Which means he likes girls but can't maintain a romantic relationship and he likes guys but takes awhile to be convinced into their bed. Unless he's the one convincing (John specifically) into his bed which is- a bad idea but for other reasons than for what you might think.
Julian is grey homosexual, I suppose grey homoromantic too.
John's one of those gays that go a good portion of their life believing that Good People Are Straight until he's convinced otherwise
My bard pair are actually straight cis and in committed relationships and I plan to keep it that way for funnies I think. But they're theater kids so that basically makes them queer right?
I think I said Cinder is aroace.
Rynn is a bi woman in a 'straight passing' relationship and never gets mad at people for calling her straight nope never ever.
I haven't put much thought into gender spectrum. I'm sure there would be some Trans or usage of neopronouns- maybe Cinder too? I've always imagined her with a deeper voice. Maybe she's a Trans woman who uses xe/xem
Actually no I lied. The boatman can be a little genderfluid. As a treat. (There was a point where I thought this would be funny because the guy on the water was fluid and now I'm like 'sure why not')
June is coming.
Which means LGBTQIA+ pride is coming!
So whump community! Share your LGBTQIA+ OCs via reblog or reply here! Doesn't matter if they're a whumpee, whumper, Caretaker, etc. Now is your chance to share your LGBTQIA+ little guys and gals and nonbinary pals and more!

Sorry, but I don't think a tumblr funnyman should be the be all end all of queer terminology. Did anyone even think to ask multi-label people WHY they might actually prefer contradictory terms? Why they don't just want to switch over to a "better" "more appropriate" "more accurate" term? Also, are there actual examples of multiple terms causing real harm? Or is the "harm" just making people confused or "muddying the waters" (the horror)
I'm guessing this is about my old ass posts about my stance on terms like "bi lesbian." I'll keep this quick (and unrebloggable), since we're probably not super interested in arguing this point for hours.
I have talked to multiple people who identify as bi lesbians. In every case, I've found that their definition of "bi lesbian" is one of three things: a) transphobic, b) lesbophobic and biphobic, or c) questionable, but probably whatever.
The transphobic definition is one that says that any lesbian who is attracted to a gender that isn't "binary cis woman" is a "bi lesbian." Yes, this is a definition I've encountered. I've been smugly told that my attraction to femme and woman-aligned nonbinary people makes me a "bi lesbian." This is not true. The lesbian label has historically included nonbinary lesbians, and saying you're a "bi lesbian" if you're into nb people is gross and transphobic. Some TERFs have even used the term as a self-identifier meaning "I am bisexual but I don't sleep with men," which is doubly gross.
The lesbophobic and biphobic definition occurs when bi women identify as a bi lesbian because they "strongly prefer" women. A bisexual can strongly prefer women and still be bisexual--asserting otherwise is wildly biphobic. Additionally, many lesbians are very hurt by bi lesbians' aggressive disregard for the fact that lesbian is the only mainstream label that excludes men in wlw and nblw attraction. "Bisexual" as a term already exists, and frankly, I think a lot of bi lesbians are suffering from internalized biphobia.
Finally, the last definition is my "eh, whatever" definition: bisexual homoromantics and homosexual biromantics. While I question the validity of using the split attraction model in this way, I think this is the most "valid" reason to identify as a bi lesbian, though frankly I think it's a better idea to stick with a label like "bisexual homoromantic" or "biromantic homosexual" (see my point about the lesbian label above).
Look, obviously I can't control what labels someone uses, so if you truly hate that I find this label weird and uncomfortable (even borderline transphobic/lesbophobic/biphobic), feel free to block me and move on. I am not the authority on the LGBTQ community and never claimed to be; I am simply stating my own beliefs on the matter, beliefs that are shared by a lot of other bi gals, lesbians, and trans women in my life.
Hope this clears some things up. Have a good day.

I was mostly joking, but upon reflection I actually do think this is an interesting example of situational sexual behavior. His instinct, whether it's an internal instinct or a societally conditioned instinct, is to seek out physical intimacy with women. However, since he can't experience that physical intimacy with women, his desire for physical intimacy is instead expressed through this homoromantic cuddling.
Where he goes from here is really up to him. Maybe he expands his view of his own sexual preference, or maybe he views his relationships with men as being simply the result of this specific situation.
I know that this might be fake, but even if this specific case is fake, I'm sure this has happened to someone.
