I have been celibate for 3+ years & I wanted to share how this has helped shaped who I am.
Disclaimer: This is not me telling you what to do with your life and your bodies. It comes with zero judgement. I am of the belief that there is a season for everything, and we evolve into many different people in our life. I would be remiss if I didn't say that I definitely think it's a good idea to practice it. I do believe that psychologically, spiritually & emotionally having casual sex has a lot of negative implications for both men and women. However your beliefs around intimacy are purely up to you. Sex isn't bad, that's not what I am saying, but when you are having sex with someone you are absorbing their energy, and the energy of their past lovers too, so having sex with the wrong person can really ruin you.
Honestly the idea of anyone touching me if they do not meet my needs emotionally, mentally, physically etc absolutely disgusts me. I have never been of the type of let anyone "have me" but even more so now. Remember that when you start treating yourself differently, your perspectives and the things you are attracted to also start to change.
Maybe some girls don't understand this so I am going to say it. You do not have to sleep with a man for him to like you, love you, treat you well, or buy you things. If you haven't experienced this, you may not agree. But this is my reality and the reality of so many others, so yes it is actually totally possible.
I will say that the first year can be difficult but after that it gets much easier cause your mindset changes. I recommend taking that first year to really dive in and analyze your relationships, work on your wounds etc. Feeling lonely is something I see come up a lot, and while human beings are not designed to be alone, you should not feel lonely and that is probably a good starting point to work on with yourself if that is the case.
Anyway, these are some of the changes I have experienced:
1. Greater mental clarity and can focus more on personal goals, career & self development.
2. Reduced emotional turbulence. Creating better emotional balance and inner peace.
3. Realizing self love and self worth come from you, rather than seeking external validation. It reduces stress, increases self awareness & provides identity outside of others.
4. Higher standards, better boundaries. Intimacy is a choice, not a necessity. Being unable to control your lust is a weakness. Understand that falling in love purely through sex is lust, wounds and attachment / abandonment issues, need for validation, insecurity etc.
5. Insane increase to intuition.
6. Gives you control over your body and life. It allows you to be more selective about who you let into their personal space.
7. Increased creativity & passion to channel into art, projects, or other personal endeavors.
8. For those recovering from past trauma or heartbreak, celibacy can be a time for healing and self reflection. It offers the space to process emotions, heal old wounds and rediscover yourself.
9. No energetic enmeshments with toxic souls, which btw you are absorbing all of it. Grosses me out any time I think about it.
10. Even prettier than before (but i'm sure not entertaining toxic men and drama contributes to that as well)
11. People are even more drawn to be because of my strong sexual energy & pure aura.

I've recently done something I never thought I would, I've gotten in anime. I think the innocent girl next door bimbo act is a style that works best for gaining power while not being perceived as a threat. I'm studying it more and learning how to adopt it in my daily life and interactions. I love your perspective and ideas so I wanted to ask your thoughts on this and on the innocent girl next door act.
I have to be honest, I'm not overly familiar with the "girl next door" archetype because, to me, the girl next door is everything a bimbo isn't. But that's really just a preference, bimbos aren't that cut and dry. Just yesterday I was considering making a post about the basic bimbo types because I tried watching Jersey Shore and it made me realize that when we talk about intelligence, well, lack of intelligence -- there are pretty consistent forms it comes in. People get REALLY hung up on the intelligence loss aspect of bimbofication and claim "bimbos don't need to be dumb" but its all about one's personal perception of what "dumb" is. Chances are whatever alternative they suggest in place of intelligence loss is something that can also be read as "dumb".
Excuse me for going off on a tangent here but I'm going to continue. I also almost made this point on the main blog several months ago using My Little Pony characters as examples but I kept debating the... ethics? of that. Anyway, I'm gonna do it now.
Let's begin with Twilight Sparkle (These will be very loose examples btw). You may think "how could a character who's whole thing is being an egghead bookworm represent a lack of intelligence?" Very easily actually. A character like Twilight's stupidity would come in the form of the Absent-Minded Professor archetype. Basically, picture a bimbo who's very competent or intelligent but also a total klutz. We can have a bimbo character who's technically smart but express a sense and perception of stupidity by making them clumsy, oblivious, and socially unaware.
Then you have Fluttershy, who would probably fall more into the innocent girl next door type as you've described. A Fluttershy type bimbo would be perceived as unintelligent through being docile, passive, meek, (I personally prefer these words to just "submissive") or gullible. But she could still technically be smart.
Rarity... kind of goes without saying. A "lack of intelligence" would be expressed through perceived superficiality, an interest in glamorous and feminine things. This is literally the plot of Legally Blonde. Rarity and Elle are girly and glamorous but also kind and intelligent. Of course you could also make this type of bimbo much more vapid and uncaring, even cruel, and get the more trophy wife-gold digger social media influencer type of bimbo. Again, there are A LOT of different bimbo types. Moving on.
Pinkie Pie. Pinkie would represent probably the most common and popular type of bimbo. Silly, giggly, bubbly, hedonistic. Of course, this doesn't mean the character would actually have to be "dumb" in a technical sense, and Pinkie definitely isn't.
Now... Rainbow Dash. With her and AJ being the tomboys of the group there's bound to be a bit of overlap but I'd argue the perception of stupidity tied to RD would be that of a meathead jock. You don't see bimbos like this often, if ever, but it'd be the type of bimbo that's very brash. While a Pinkie type bimbo would probably exhibit eager playfulness an RD-style bimbo might be more aggressive in her pursuits. Her "stupidity" would be expressed through recklessness, cockiness, and probably like crass vulgarity.
And finally, Applejack. While I mentioned there being overlap between her and an RD-style bimbo it may be more accurate to say an Applejack style bimbo would have more in common with the Fluttershy-style in that the Apple-bimbo would appear stupid via a lack of pretension. Sort of the "Farmer's Daughter" type, there's a traditional aspect to it. The Applejack style bimbo would be marked by simplicity above all, the most likely to settle down and be a housewife. There's also possibly the connotation of being and ignorance stemming from small-town seclusion, refusal to change, or a refusal to question things. Consider the episodes:
Applebuck Season
Look Before You Sleep
Bridle Gossip
Over a Barrel
Made in Manehattan
Applejack's Day Off
The Cart Before the Ponies
Honest Apple
Sincerest apologies for the very long detour, anon. Like I was saying, I'm not familiar enough with the "Girl Next Door" archetype to truly comment, maybe not familiar enough with anime either because it took me forever to come up with even one example -- Orihime Inoue from Bleach, and I can't think of anyone else. But it does seem like something to consider and definitely look more into, if you're comfortable sending another message I'd love to know specifically what anime you've been watching and what characters you had in mind. Also curious as to how you plan on employing these tactics IRL. It does strike me, now that I'm winding down, that by "gaining power" you may be referring to like Emmet Till shit, performing innocence and vulnerability to get men be very protective of you.

You previously mentioned that we will be able to play as the child of immigrant parents. But how will you handle where the family comes from? Because let's be real: a kid whose parents come from Sweden or Germany won't get the same type of reactions as one whose family come from Mexico or Iran.
And that's even assuming the family are ethnically from those countries and not, say, people who went from one country to another to escape civil war or poverty or whatever, then came to the USA. Which is very detailed and nitpicking, I know, but I am very curious about this particular route.
Would it be right to assume MC's whose family have immigrant backgrounds would have it set, like how MC's family in non-immigrant route have certain set characteristics (upper middle class, how they came to their vices that caused current economic issues etc.)?
I haven't decided on exactly how I want to do it as far as accommodating backgrounds; as in, the choice scene isn't written or coded yet. But I really love what C.C. Hill @when-life-gives-you-lemons-if did in Insert Rich Family Name when it comes to customizing the family's background and plan to do something similar. (I highly recommend that game btw; and anything else CC writes tbh) Opening up a country of origin choice for immigrant MCs, however, means that I'm definitely reversing my decision to exclude skin tone customization. The game doesn't delve into things like colorism and or specific ethnic perspectives because I'm one person and just can't write all that 😅 but continent and country of origin will be a separate choice from things like appearance customization.
There are set characteristics of the second-gen MC's past but they don't differ wildly from the local background. Since the parents are characters with set personalities that I actually feature in scenes and dialogue, though, the immigrant backstory still needs to follow roughly the same beats as the local one. Your parents still lucked into money and spent it quickly and unwisely.
I know what you mean by the reactions that different migrant groups garner from people in real life, especially as the kid of African immigrants, but the setting I'm writing isn't like that. That's super unrealistic for a town like Emerson in real life — but it's a fiction and the story I'm telling isn't about facing or overcoming discrimination. If I was writing a version of Emerson that had a historical past actually typical of the United States, so many things, so many, would not exist as they are and I'd be writing a completely different story. The story I have written is just like... inappropriate honestly, for a setting like a realistic Emerson. I would not care to write about some high school kids at the prep school, I would much rather explore the politics and criminal underbelly of the adult world -- if I was writing this realistically.
To some degree, there are darker, more realistic aspects of Emerson as a setting (like blacklisting and what discrimination in Emerson even looks like) but that won't be explored until Book 2 because the MC will be an adult finally navigating life with the other adults. But this Book and this story are about the very insular perspective of a privileged kid from a weird fictional town. You could almost call a teenage MC an unreliable narrator, regardless of background, because they have lucked out in not experiencing much personal hardship. It doesn't mean my world doesn't acknowledge or have these things; literal case and points being Gabe and Kile. The MC is ignorant to a lot of what they haven't experienced and is written that way — and the characters who have had vastly different and harsher experiences also have their own limitations in perspective.
What you're describing just isn't what I'm exploring and xenophobia is not the sort of thing I'd want to inject half-assed for realism's sake or drop as some form of flavor text. I used to have a variable that let players choose if their last name gets frequently mispronounced because to me it's a funny thing that I relate to my immigrant experience. But I scrapped It because at the end of the day, it's just coding a micro-aggression that does literally nothing for the story or character development. Realistic discrimination doesn't enhance the story because I didn't create a story based in a realistic world. ...I think that sentence might sum it up, yeah.
I get that people don't have access to my notes or unpublished work and I don't presume that you know my background! But I'm confident I know what I'm doing with the option — and if it sucks, y'all better tell me (!!) and I'll have the whole rest of development to improve it.

The thing with Luke Castellan is that, from the perspective of a reader, I think he has a good foundation for an interesting character, in the sense that he's complex and over the boundary.
He has good motives and utilizes the wrong means. He has good points and bad points. Usually, this type of character sparks many debates and is either deeply loved or widely hated (which, obviously is true), and thus, remains a forever topic in the fandom.
Which, if I was an author, would delight me bc I love the chaos more than ever but this isn't about me---
What Rick did to Luke, however, hinders this a little? I can't recall much from PJO but I know it's written in Percy's First POV. We see everything through Percy's eyes, so naturally, our opinions might synchronize with him on a certain level. So like. Since Percy dislikes Luke, it's natural that a majority of the reader would hate him as well.
Now, if we were allowed to see it through wider lens though. To see both sides, I mean. Idk ab you guys but I have read quite a number of two-faced antagonists/villains in mangas etc... and the thing about them is that they're SO GOOD at making the readers empathize with the antagonists, you know? - Which makes it INSANELY harder when the final battle comes, which brings just a jumble of messy emotions, which in turn leave you with a lifetime scar bla bla bla... We don't have it here. Percy makes it clear that he hates Luke after he pulls the scorpion (which is understandable btw) so from that point onwards Luke is just an enemy.
What I'm trying to say is that: maybe, just maybe!, if Luke was written to be a little more... grey, a little deeper. Imagine if we were to peek into what Luke might have thought at every step the TA takes. How he takes the casualties.
Alabaster Torrington, as it turns out, is a typical example of this case. We're well aware of him being the former Lieutenant to the TA, and he even hates Percy, but still, he can be loved and he is loved. Haley Riordan gave him a story, and suddenly it's so much easier to empathize and/or understand him, which ends up helping us warm up to him.
Luke has a side-story too, I think? I think it might also change ppl's views were it as mainstream as the main books. I also it plays into the picture that the side story takes place before the main event. Idk why but a prequel of 3-4 years prior just feels distant, especially when the readers are so used to reading ab Percy.
Anw. The point today is. Were the story about Percy AND Luke (as two contrasting forces), then maybe things would have been different.

The thing about aerith you just shared is fascinating. If we're going with the theme of " there's nothing I don't cherish" and the complete 180° of Zack's character with aerith in terms of stereotypes of heroism.
With Zack, Cloud cries for a good person. Someone he idolized.
With Aerith, cloud cries for uh not so good person (I'm being generous here). Someone he treated severely most of the time.
But both he was grateful for. Both he cried for. Just like with anything. Like, look at how he described jessie in Rebirth. We know she didn't treat him well but in cloud's perspective he was grateful for her reaching out to him. Giving him materia, inviting him with the gang for pizza. I think once wedge told him that she's just being a prick, he ended up being more relaxed about it. But you know what's up? He doesn't think of her romantically AT ALL. Not even a prospect even for a milisecond. She's actually very similar to the way aerith was written here btw.
But yes, long story short. He cherishes everything. Good and bad. But there's only one person he'll ever come to be attracted to and in love with. Tifa obviously duh.
But yeah, like you said, she's an awful person who so happens to be one of the "good guys" in the story. If a clumsy guy can be a hero (Cloud), if the perfect hero can be a hero (Zack), if the perfect heroine can be a hero (Tifa), then, the most questionable person can also be a hero (aerith).
Lol the Sibling energy going strong here, if you noticed what I mean 😂.
But overall, It fits. It's a game with the theme of LIFE in it. We meet so many people.
So in short Nojima is challenging us through aerith to see that. Don't lavish her with flowery words nor look at her through rose tinted glasses (puns intended). LOOK AT HER. She's a POS but she got friends who care for her. She may take them for granted A LOT but she will be there to help save the planet they live in. That's one way to look at it.
But Cloti is TOO KIND still lol. So they need better boundaries and standards for friendship.
Also low key aerith reminds me of gollum here. Gollum is ACTUALLY a hero himself. And if Frodo (cloti) didn't let him into their circle, but they did due to their kindness. They will never be able to kill sauron. So Gollum, by sheer greed and all. Bit Frodo's finger, catches the ring and falls with it. So if they never let aerith into the group, welcomed her with open arms, she wouldn't have been able to do her task and see to it as much as she can. Than alone.
That was long but yeah. Sorry to aerith fans since I compared her to gollum. But it has nothing to do with his looks, just the function he has in the story. And HE IS A VERY IMPORTANT CHARACTER.
That's what I think. What's interesting tho is at least Cloud has the interest and self awareness of knowing he doesn't or does but wanting to prove he deserves Tifa. The modernized Yamato Nadeshiko. Meanwhile aerith is the complete opposite. She just believes she's entitled to it regardless. Zack has uh, an interesting type I'd say. It cringes me he's into "city mouse" but notice the animal she's being compared to lmao. Tbh they're kind of the same in one aspect not only their upbeat personality. Zack would never bat an eye on her if she didn't had the same complexity she had with being weird and different. Same with aerith, she'd never care at all. This will never apply to cloud even if he ends up being a soldier, because he wants to be special afterall, he will never understand aerith and zack's insecurities. But Zack doesn't think being a soldier is special, he feels like a monster but still he wants to be a hero.
Tumblr media
I mean nobody has any issues with Cait Sith, a literal Shinra spy, being a good guy. Nobody has issues with Vincent, a former turk who probably did a lot of questionable shit, being a good guy.
Cid also worked for Shinra and knew Ifalna and never tried to help her despite seeing her around Hojo's lab, but he's a good guy.
Everybody is a flawed hero, but Aerith's flaws are worse because hers cause harm to her own friends. Everybody else's personality flaws are external in nature and project outward towards other characters who aren't part of their group, but Aerith and Cait Sith's flaws project internally to the group. Cait gets ousted after betraying them and Aerith dies.
It's almost like those harmful to the greater good of the planet are removed from the party. Cait returns with a better attitude in a new robot body, but the one that betrayed them also dies.

I dropped my phone and the ask sent before I was done typing noooo! I didn't like the phrase "totally different perspectives" and was gonna delete that and I have so much more to say afsgdgdg
Cause I think we have a lot of similar experience of labels not fitting right. It's weird using strictly gendered terms when you don't have one or you have more than one! Tbh it's weird using strictly gendered anything in general in my eyes, let everyone do whatever with their presentation and life cause we're all humans and there's no real difference, regardless of genders or lack thereof. If the term gender anarchist isn't already being used to mean something else I'm gonna start using it.
I'm in a poly relationship with a man and a genderfluid person who's usually a woman (I love them both so fucking much btw they're the best) and I also have confusion with the flawed "non-men loving non-men" cause like. I am a non-man dating a non-man, but we're also both dating a man so it's weird. Like, it all boils down to the fact that I'm not a lesbian simply cause I don't like that label, it's not the right fit so I don't use it, but like, I still think about whether I "count as a lesbian" cause I call myself a dyke and say 'lesbian sex' and am I "allowed" to say that but also the latter's said more in a joking way anyway and last time I got called a dyke I yelled back "eh, only kinda" and who's even keeping score?
Ascribing to a gendered language with no gender means going "fuck it, I'm a chick and a guy but also I'm not a chick or a guy" cause words have no application, plus we're all unique
First ask: Hi I think you're really cool! I'm agender so it's really neat reading your posts cause we have the same viewpoints on things but from
Agender and multigender solidarity forever and ever!

Having a really terrible time rn so I'm here to distract myself with thinking about your stormchaser au because my job training today had us do 3 separate "severe weather" information and response trainings.
Anyways I've been thinking a lot about the implications and consequences of a head injury severe enough to give amnesia and I think this was a plot point and not supposed to be like something backed up by giving Ford medically accurate symptoms and disabilities but that's what happens when you're a disabled gravity falls fan in the medical field.
So a severe traumatic brain injury on that level is gonna have some things that are what you'd expect (vision changes, delayed reactions and confusion, issues with decision making and starting tasks and all that fun executive function stuff long term as well...) but also a common symptom, especially if there's damage to the right hemisphere in general, is impulsiveness as well as personality and mood changes just being a thing.
And I imagine for a while after he wakes up and is treated and even after he's released from the hospital and staying with Jack that's really tough - because I imagine at checkups they're gonna ask repeatedly if there's been any significant changes to his mood, functioning, abilities, and "Bill" and Jack have no clue at all. They have no idea who he was and if it's different.
So when Stan and Ford reunite I imagine it's a relief in you can tell me who I was kind of way but also hard bc Stan definitely sees that Ford's changed. Significantly. But is it because of time? Is it because of new influences? Is it because he didn't know who he was so he became someone different? Or is it a fucking symptom?
I got ahead of myself this ask was supposed to be about imagine "Bill" and Jack going to the grocery store soon after Bill gets out of the hospital and is convinced yes he actually should stay with Jack for the time being and they have a grocery list but Ford/Bill is putting pretty much everything in the cart because he's having a really hard time with impulse control and 20 bananas is not excessive we could need them what if I wake up feeling like eating 20 bananas and Jacks like. This man's a mess. Compels me though
Aaaaaaaaaa Anon I loved getting this monster beast of an ask, esp because I myself have also been Going Through It this week.
What you were saying about the personality change and the doctors asking if "Bill's" personality changed after the accident and neither Jack nor "Bill" knowing how to answer it, that's something that I've actually addressed in a different AU. Because I am a hoarder of AUs and I have one where STAN lost his memory in an accident and that's something that was brought up in stuff I wrote for it because I am a Scientist and I do my Research.
Anyways
Idk if I've addressed the personality change thing much in Storm Chasers AU (which, btw very glad that my little AU is on your mind, it makes me happy people are thinking about and enjoying my stuff), but I have set that up! At least in my head. The biggest thing: "Bill" is remarkably chill. Like, he's just an easygoing kinda go with the flow type of guy for the most part. He's very sweet and gentle and just sort of accepts things and takes life slowly. The taking life slowly is partially due to, as you pointed out, some function being lost from the traumatic brain injury, but it's also partially due to said TBI causing a personality change.
Some aspects of the Original Ford do pop up every now and then. He still gets all Researcher Excited about things, particularly the weird and magical things of Gravity Falls. But he has a different perspective than canon Ford. He treats the magical creatures with more respect and viewing them almost as peers. Once he's calmed down from his initial reaction of "omg omg OMG!" Even with his respect for them, many of the magical creatures don't really like Ford, just bc he goes overboard excited with them so much.
Another thing that sticks around, sorta burned into Ford's DNA at this point, is his, ah, "difficult" relationship with his father. When "Bill" and Jack adopt their first son (the Shapeshifter, whom they name Forrest), "Bill" is constantly fretting about whether he'll be a good father or not. He's paranoid and scared and confused and Jack has never seen this side of him. Jack eventually gets "Bill" to calm down by promising that he'll help keep "Bill" in line and let him know if he does anything wrong. And then he says that he won't need to step in at all bc he knows his partner.
(And then a few times Filbrick's parenting shows up and Jack does need to step in.)
Uhhhhhh I got sidetracked just like you lol.
I agree "Bill" has some impulse control issues. Arguably, canon Ford has those already (as does Stan, in some ways, worse than Ford), and those just get dialed up to eleven for "Bill". "Bill" constantly trying to throw things into the shopping cart is just a sign of what is to come. Luckily, Jack has the patient of a saint. Jack also finds "Bill" incredibly attractive, which definitely helps with his tolerance for the odd behaviors lol.

That was a blast! I wonder what's that weapon that Heta is building. Is it related to force sensitivity or the typical super weapon bs? I hope the former, especially considering that this update introduced us to a new character that is neither Jedi nor Sith nor any other Force Religion member, Petra Nihrum - who is just a citizen of Ord Mantel who so happens to be... a force sensitive scoundrel? It's hard to pinpoint her class, but this is so cool. We are finally seeing someone who can use the Force but is not part of any side! We had some fraction of it in Raina Temple, who also is force sensitive, but the difference is HUGE. Staggering! Raina's ability to use the Force was small in comparison to Petra, who seems to have the typical familiarity with the Force that you usually can see in Sith and Jedi, who in most cases train since a very young age to be able to even lift a rock (Jedi Class Stories even show us initiates who struggle with lifting it). Petra reminds me a lot about Sith Inquisitor who as a slave would lack the background that Sith Warrior, Jedi Consular and Jedi Knight have in regard to training in the force. Sith Inquisitor is probably the only class that can't say they had formal training, but still present a staggering familiarity with the usage of the Force on the same level as Petra. I always loved this in SI's story because it implied that someone can use the Force but not know they're using the Force for the most of their lives and treat it as just some random ability they simply possess. Exactly like Petra! I hope we will see more of her in the future, because I got attached.
But it's not all. Sa'har finally TALKED TO US! I was wondering if we ever get a chance, because every time I tried before something just had to interrupt, or she just ran away. But now she talked to me, and I'm not as paranoid as Krovos to assume it was all just a part of a plan to fool me and do something to me. I don't think Sa'sar is the type to try to pull something like this off. She sounds genuine as far as I can tell. Also that scene when she just panicked in front of us? I was like "Is it a thinly veiled foreshadowing that I will become her new Master?" Like seriously, I wouldn't say no to training a new Padawan after I did the same for Ashara, but considering that the game is not told from the force sensitive perspective unless you play the class that is, there is a very small chance that we will be presented with such an option.
But damn how much I would want to raise another baby Jedi.
Anyway, there is one thing that bothers me tho. Not in a bad way, just in a suspicious way. That closeup at Sa'har's face at the end. After the warning from Krovos this closeup just feels fishy. I don't think they're trying to tell us that Sa'har just successfully fooled us, but it kinda felt sus after Krovos and her paranoia. A more logical assumption is that she is now in a tight spot. She just lied to her own brother about what she was doing (basically covering for both herself and us) and she is now once again in the center of everything, because she assumed a role in this that is more than it was before. At first, she was just going with the flow. Doing whatever Heta wanted, but now she made a step in our direction that made her more of a traitor than her unsuccessful attempts to sabotage whatever Heta was doing. Not to mention that she also had what that asshole Tyrus said in mind. It's possible that Sa'har will have to fight her own brother, and this is probably why she seemed so troubled, but... also determined to end all of this once and for all. I'm not sure if she believes she can liberate her brother from under Heta's influence. If she still has hope. But the last frame with her brows going down, it felt like she was determined to do something.
BTW I hope Shae enjoys her vacation, because the moment it was shown that she went missing my first reaction was "oh she got angry and vent on sabbatical to do something crazy". Like there is no way something happened to her. It's far more probable that she just went off the deep end and is training somewhere, or decided to invest in stealth and become a spy master that tracks Heta's every move from the shadows before she inevitably strikes like a vengeful cobra.

but he thinks he’s the shit and he can always fix everything, but never does. //
Damn Pedgie I can relate 😭😭😭 I wanna ask the cards again if you can, but... first, I'm going to ask your own take, Tarot Mami🥰 or other anons too
Would he be possibly get out from these situations? Maybe by meeting someone who can understand his "lack of definition", or maybe from other ... methods as well - I saw people saying that he's a red flag who needs therapy. Telling by experience it's so hard to break the cycle and the pattern repeats, and because we're like, "oh i need to fix them and i can!" then enduring our pain though the person would continuously burn us out.
Btw this probably means nothing - but astrology anons might help🤣 I'm a Libra sun & Sag moon and somehow I think the anon who says Pedro not fitting into Capri moon but Sag moon instead is true. I dont mean to project but I see his (damaging) traits in my own self lmaooo
Hello! Well, I asked the cards about it, but you also asked my take on it. I think it’s really hard to break the cycle (being attracted to unavailable people and people he knows are going to hurt him or situations that won’t last) if you don’t know why you are repeating it, and you cannot figure that out easily since most of the reasons are in the unconscious mind.
Anyway, I first asked directly if he could possibly get out of the cycle and the Major Arcana were The Hanged Man, Strength and The Sun.
Tumblr media
Well, at the moment our man seems to be in suspension with The Hanged Man. He’s hesitant, he doesn’t want to deep dive because he’s insecure, so he’s just… there, not really making any moves in any direction. Strength has been a common card in his readings lately, that need to master his raw emotions and stay in control of the situation, while The Sun shows him being aware of it all, pretty much conscious of the way he tends to be attracted to unavailable people and kind of making the decision to stay this way because he is “satisfied” with it. He’s been holding back on doing anything different because he just doesn’t want to and this is clear to him.
The Minor Arcana were the Ace of Cups, 7 of Cups and Page of Wands. Ace of Cups with The Hanged Man is interesting because the Ace represents letting the feelings flow, then seeing things from a new perspective, making a move and allowing love to happen in a different way. 7 of Cups paired with Strength makes me think he’s trying to control and limit his possibilities, and it could also point to idealizing and fantasizing too much about what relationships should be like, as if he uses all this idealizing to stay in control. Page of Wands with The Sun in this context might mean he’s this boy who wants to explore new things and try new things and who’s full of fire energy to experiment. However, I think he would also have to use this energy for beginnings as the driving force to experiment new ways of connecting with people romantically and sexually, different types of people and in different situations. You can try new things or you can try the same thing many times, just with new people.
So I would say he’s not really ready at the moment to try and get out of these situations, he would have to be open to a new and different attraction, but he’s suspended, he’s not there yet.
Then I asked my Alice in Wonderland deck for more info and the cards were really similar. The first ones were The Chariot, Ace of Teacups and The Emperor.
Tumblr media
The Chariot is that movement he would need to get out of The Hanged Man position, he would have to be open to a new path and actively follow it, to the Ace of Teacups, letting the feelings flow in a new way. BUT there he is again, The Emperor, he’ll do what he wants when he wants because he is in control, he will make his own decisions and he will know when to.
Tumblr media
The last pull was The Star, 7 of Teacups and 10 of Spears. The Star is the card of hope and optimism, being able to actually think it’s worth it doing something different and be open to the 7 of Teacups, the many possibilities. But for that, it would be necessary to leave his old ways behind with the 10 of Spears.
So as you can see, it’s still up to him and still a matter of being open to the new and different. As we always say, though, he doesn’t need to be, only if he wants to.

just finished reading HER, currently listening to The Writer by ellie goulding like you recommended– it feels like i just came to the end of a movie and the end credits are rolling while the song plays. frankly, i am speechless with how much this has moved me, so if any of this sounds incoherent, thats why. i've said this before and i'll say it again, her has made me realize so much about myself! i mentioned before in another ask i relate to wonwoo a lot, but seeing wonwoo's character not write anymore after meeting her was like, the final nail into the wall! i realized i haven't written all these months because i mostly write to get stuff out my system that i cant say to anyone.
also 2 years??? oh my god. you're actually crazy for that (positively speaking, ofc) but i think that adds to how fucking good the fanfic is. i love how your wrote everyone, the main 2 characters aside- vernon's and mingyu's character stood out to me the most. the fact mingyu too could be going through similar identity struggles to her? oh and the way the whole thing is wrapped up, from vernon's voicemail to wonwoo deleting the unfinished book to him assuring her, its all SO GOOD!! im running out of adjectives as i type this, and my phone is currently on 3% as i do so, so i won't say more, but just know that you've impacted me so much!! and your writing and wordbuilding is just chefs kiss <3 <3 this was aphantasia anon btw, i feel like thats just my name now jshsjs, even though i make it kinda obvious who i am by exclusively liking your answers to the asks i send you💀 anyways, hope you have a good week 🐋💖
yes omg <3
i knew when i came to the end of the fic, i didn't want to go the route of wonwoo attaining his new relationship and then immediately being struck with the inspiration to write. i think that writing serves different purposes for everyone. it's still a craft that he loves and appreciates and sees the value in but he's now adopted a new perspective! deleting the story he wrote for jeanie was an ode to his growth. he's not letting things sit and fester any longer.
true!! there is still some ambiguity to mingyu's character at the end of the story, but we get the sense that he's most likely going through a metamorphosis of his own. having her confront & leave him was most likely an eye-opener for him, just like her argument w/ wonwoo was the push he needed to accept his bad habits. we know that mingyu likely sacrificed his true interests to go the easy route via connections that her's family offered, but in doing so he was sucked down a similar drain of losing himself/his identity.
i'm soo happy you enjoyed the fic 💕 and thank yew for sticking around & reading it to completion! it is much appreciated 😍

This is a very interesting perspective, with Hak's actions being more similar to those of a villain and Suwoon's with that of a hero. But isn't this just that "greater good" resonates with some people more, but is also a good excuse to kill and make war and and force people to succumb to your will in its way? It's a dangerous way of thinking "whatever evil I do is justifiable because it's for the greater good".
I can get behind the idea it wasn't just King Il responsible considering he had the five generals at his disposal who all represented the different tribes and their interests. I would argue then, that Hak was exceptionally young for a general and brought up by his grandfather to see the King as just and Yona as rightful and that by becoming her bodyguard he technically had very simple tasks to be responsible for: protect Yona, fight people I tell you. He is the kind of person to put his trust into chosen people and follow them without question (simple soldier thinking in a way). There are people who are capable of bigger perspective, like the wider problems of the kingdom and those that focus on being loyal to chosen people. That's the difference between Hak and Suwoon.
I'm not necessarily saying Hak isn't capable of more, but he was young, that was his upbringing, and that was the life and way of thinking he chose. Blaming him for not being concerned for the rest of the kingdom - also considering that the Air tribe was doing really well and that was the ground he based his worldview on: my tribe is fine, my responsibilities are fulfilled, everything must be going okay.
Not to forget that Hak did put his faith in one more person: Suwon. He would have supported him as king and followed him. Why never bring those concerns Suwon had about the kingdom to Hak, if he didn't believe in Yona that much?
Suwon could have confided in Hak about the kingdom problems. But he didn't. He didn't think Hak would choose him over Yona? But Suwon's mistake was not believing in Yona as well, and he couldn't get his way with Il cause objectively speaking, Suwon's dad did kill his wife, which led Il to kill him in retaliation. This feud was personal and clouding Suwon's - as well as Il's - judgement. Even if Suwon said and maybe believed he was doing it more for the kingdom than the revenge.
Now Suwon did lots of good for the kingdom, that is true. And he is a very human character, relatable in many ways.
I'm just thinking the differences between Suwon and Hak can be nicely explained through personality differences like the sortinghatschats system describes them. There are people who are more visionary and look at the bigger perspective (the lion primary type witch is usually depicted as the one classic protagonsits have btw) like Suwon and there are people who focus on relationships and loyalties like Hak (snake primary which is usually more associated with relatable villian characters, though Hak is actually a badger which makes him more community based and Yona represents that community promise to him).
This doesn't make one more evil or less capable of love or the other more stupid. They put their value in different things (eg. ideals vs specific people). It makes them suited for different tasks.
Hero vs Villain
The Antagonist Soo-won in the manga is the "I'll save the world for you" type of guy. Basically every hero ever. He loved his dad, so he became the king who saved the Kingdom just as his dad wanted him to.
Tumblr media
The main protagonist Hak on the other hand is the "I'll burn the word down to save her" type guy. Classis villain. He killed anyone trying to harm Yona to save her life on the day of the regicide. He would kill anything and anyone for Yona.
Yet, we love Hak and Yona, cheered for their growth and development and was appalled by Soo won's betrayal. I just adore how Mizuho Kusanagi plays with perspective. Akatsuki no Yona was a villains perspective all along. From the beginning, she was the spoilt princess of a selfish king leading a kingdom to ruin. Hak knew this, being a generals son, he was very aware how how things were outside the castle but he didn't care, if it meant Yona would be happy.

Hi fellow DC veteran! I normally only lurk on Tumblr and have never posted anything, but, I saw that you kept apologizing about complaining about the latest chapter and where the story is at right now (and has been for many years), and thought I should send this. There is absolutely no need to apologize, as I know so many fans feel EXACTLY the same way, and I actually appreciate you putting that perspective out there among all the chaos. I have also spent my whole life following this story, and it breaks my heart to see where it is at right now, and the complete disregard for our amazing main character. I have been a fan of DC for 23 years now, and Shinichi has always been my favourite character, and always will be. I don't care how many other "cool" characters get added to the series, because he will always be number 1 for me. There is no one else like him <3 I don't care about ANYTHING that has to do with Akai, Amuro or all the other stuff/characters they bring along with them. I didn't mind when Akai was more of an actual side character, but now I can't stand how these characters that mean nothing to me are front and centre. Btw, I love your undying love for Shinichi and ShinRan. Your old posts about them make my day and remind me why I am still here after all these years. I am only here because I love them, and honestly, DON'T THEY DESERVE TO BE HAPPY ALREADY??
So, I was not expecting Kaito Kid to be in chapter 1100 either, though I knew it would be something disappointing. I don't care that Amuro is there and that actually makes things worse for me. Also, and correct me if I'm wrong, I thought after we had the Mystery Train, Gosho said that he wouldn't involve Kid in the main plot anymore. I don't remember where I saw this, it was years ago.
It makes me sad when I go though old chapters and see the difference. I can't even get myself to read one full new chapter now. Anyway, I am so sorry about the long message and not really having a question. I just wanted you to know that it is comforting to still have fans who have been here so long, and feel exactly the same way. I cannot express how much I love your blog and your passion for Shinichi and ShinRan! Thank you for putting your thoughts out there.
Hi there! ✨ First things first, thank you soooo much for the kind message. This was lovely to read and it actually made me feel better lmao
I know that I shouldn't keep apologizing for complaining as you say, but you know... There's always people out there who could read what I say and get mad at me or something because of it, so I like to kind of get it out there that I don't like the fact that I myself am being so negative about this manga that I supposedly love so much.
Because I do! I love this manga, it has brought me so much joy and even if I move on to other things (which I am) I can't help but come back and have it in the back of my mind at all times. And that's what kinda makes it worse for me I guess? That's what makes me even more angry and feel like I need to say something.
I've talked about this with other people too. Like @letitrainasunnyday, who has the patience of basically hearing me complain every time a new file comes out. It makes me feel better that there's other people out there who also feel the same way than I do about the show, and who aren't being charmed by the spin offs and the senseless fanservice and plotless storylines. Don't get me wrong, if you enjoy the content we're getting recently then good for you. Great! But I feel like the ones who have always been here and are used to another type of content, the original type of story... All feel a little weird about it now. I just feel like I only come here to complain because the main characters don't feel like the main characters anymore, because the animation style of the anime is so awkward and weird looking, because the story doesn't progress at all, because they focus on things that I don't care about... It's a lot right?
And so some might say: hey! So why don't you stop watching? Just quit reading the manga!
And my answer is: for the most part I have. Like I have said plenty of times before... I don't remember the last manga file I've read completely. Now I only see what it is about on the spoilers we get and give up because I just- don't want to read. I am only in search for things that I'm interested in (the main plot, the main characters, period). Still, I mostly am just enjoying the fanon content (even if a small amount is of my taste now) and waiting for... Something. I don't know. But the point is that I can't give up the manga completely lmao I have invested too much time of my life to give it up (at least for now, we'll see in the future) and to not see where my favorite characters go from now on and what happens to them. I need to see what's of Shinichi. Of Ran. Everyone, you know?
So am I ever going to read the spin offs? No. Am I ever going to go to the cinema and pay money to watch one of the movies? Absolutely not.
But!
That won't stop me from complaining and memeing about it! I guess it's how I deal with it hahaha Sorry but it is what it is 🤷‍♀️
Anyway I don't even know where I was going with this but thanks a lot for the message again. Keep on supporting our main guy and let's hope for something good and interesting soon, yeah?

HELLOOO CAN I GET A TWST MATCH UP??( btw I actually want to make this as a trade instead ,I really want to draw your pfp !)
Appearance:
-I’m a female! Really short I wouldn’t say I’m proud of it but it’s about 146cm and i have a medium build. Super short black hair, people say I’d look like a boy if it wasn’t for my voice and my height . I like to wear oversized stuff and shorts.
Personality:
-I’m overall a really quiet, polite and awkward person in public.I have a hard time making friends or talk.I only speak when someone talk to me first.I keep on shuttering, shaking n blushing whenever i talk in front of the crowd, but it get better when im just talking to 1-2 person(please social anxiety is killing me).People pleaser, even if I know that they dislike me I’d still want to please them.I guess I’m really good at reading people .I hardly ever shown any emotion at all in public, bitch resting face <33
-When I’m with my close ones I tend to be chaotic and active I also joke around a lot. Screaming every 5 seconds and constantly annoy them. I acted like I don’t care about them but when something serious happen I will be my softer self ,giving them gift or stay by their side and comfort them.
-I tend to talk to myself whenever I’m alone, like splitting into different version of myself and talk about my day and problems (self venting 😍💅). I daydream a lot like every 10 minutes I thought of a new scenario.I act proud and giving myself compliments on everything I do.And I cuss a lot more when I’m by myself.
-I get overly excited and hype when I’m in my messaging/texting mode. I absolutely detest talking in person or facetime.I literally have another persona online.Im a pretty hard working type of person,i constantly overwhelmed and stressed myself out on being better than I already am.My motivation is money 🥰
- I have a really bad memory, lost track of time easily.Bad mood swing, happy and playful, then having a mental breakdown a moment later.I often skip meals depending on my mood.
-I love going outside but just with myself, I love exploring and observing things.I spend most of my time in the dark locking myself in room, draw ,sometime play games and then sleep. My daily routine is just helping my family and then go inside my room.
-Willing to try new things, do whatever I want without caring what other people think.I don’t get influenced by people negative thoughts of me.Will fuck them up if they directly mess with me or hurt my loved ones.
-I will literally fall for someone who show me the slightest act of kindness. After crushing on them for like a week I’ll just move on.
-I never really hate someone, but if I do I won’t try to hide it.I will always look through other people perspective and try to understand ,what they are going through before judging them.
I’m Asexual,INFP and an Aries
I really can’t think of anything I disliked other than insects 💋
Hello, sorry this is so late! I don't think you are a follower of mine, and that is a requirement for the event, but since you are offering to make this a trade or so, I'm going to let it slide only this time. I look forward to seeing your art btw! Without further ado, the character that I think would be the best match for you would be...
Idia
Look, it's Ignihyde!
The two of you probably got scared to talk to each other at first :/, but after the two of you started to get closer, you guys started to open up. He would start talking about the kinds of games he likes and his other interests, while you started to warm up to him as well (you dropped your resting bitch face after a few times meeting him, which made him less scared of you haha). But seriously, he doesn't mind if you have social anxiety since he prefers staying with a few close people already. The two of you are similar in that sense, and it gives him comfort knowing that you guys prefer less crowded areas.
Don't worry about seeming chaotic with him when you get close, he's just as chaotic probably. He'll always seem tired outside but when the two of you are hanging out together, he has unlimited energy. This can be seen with how long you guys stay up playing games online or binge watching anime. He understands how you have an online persona, since he's similar in that way. He would never have the courage to facetime anyone, but he's totally fine texting or gaming with total strangers. If anything, it's comforting to know that he's not the only one like this, since it seems like everyone around him prefers to facetime on random occasions. He probably likes to daydream as much as you do too. If you ever draw, he would love to see what you come up with. You can show him a draft or a sketch and he'll be impressed, he might melt if you ever draw him haha.
He admires how hardworking and caring you are! Your motivation is strong, and he wants to be your #1 supporter. But if you ever overwork yourself and he sees you, he might try to stop you and get you to rest a bit. Taking a break is healthy after all! Meanwhile, he also admires how you never judge anyone by their first impressions or appearances. He's always been seen as the strange geek dorm leader of Ignihyde by a lot of students, and the fact that you saw him more than just that made him so happy. Please comfort him whenever you can, he really needs hugs ;-;.

Witch-Related Books to Grab off Amazon: Masterpost Part 1
First off, I'll be sectioning this into different parts based off of what type of witch you are/want to be/want more info on, or what practices you wanna add to your craft :)
Green Witch/Magick Herbalism (a classic):
The Green Witch by Arin Murphy-Hiscock - $9.69 (Hardcover): This book had incredible reviews on amazon, and a lot of the written reviews said that the book wasn't specific to a religion and didn't try to push a religion on you, which is so wonderful because not everyone wants to be religious with their craft.
Plant Witchery by Juliet Diaz - $25.19 (Hardcover) $18.99 (Paperback): Again, stunning reviews, just a less popular book. This book isn't about general stuff, but instead it's more focused on mother nature and the useage of plants (non-herbal as well, so your houseplants might be mentioned too), which is great if you wanna center your practice around Gaia and the healing energies of the earth.
Herb Magick: An Introduction to Magickal Herbalism and Spells by Patti Wigington - $14.99 (Paperback): here's a review from a verified person- it explained this book WAY better than I ever could:
The focus of this book is on the folkloric and magical uses of herbs, rather than medicinal applications. It provides a few traditional uses of herbs, but the overall theme is knowledge of the plants and their associations, and incorporating them in your spiritual workings. This is an Introductory to Magical Herbalism.
The author's spiritual practice is rooted in traditional American and European Folk Magic. She is a licensed Pagan Clergy and is the founder of Clan Of The Stone Circle, a Celtic Pagan Tradition. (Funny, anything Celtic has been pulling my attention feelers lately, no wonder why I loved this book.) Her spells are derived/based upon the traditional folk magic practices of Western Europe and the British Isles, and the author's own experiences. They are positive spells for magical intentions of healing, love, prosperity, and protection. Baneful or negative workings with herbs are NOT used in this book.
The aesthetic of this book has my little, beginner herbalist heart gushing! The blue, green, and yellow earthy tones and hues used were perfect for the topic of herbs! The cover is GORGEOUS! It's so pretty and flowery, the illustrated pictures of the herbs were extremely helpful because I had never seen some of the plants before. This will make future identification much easier for me!
Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs by Scott Cunningham - $16.43 (Paperback): A couple reviews describe it as being in a cookbook format, and overall an amazing book, like most of Scott Cunningham's other works. Apparently the Amazon shipping was literal trash for a bunch of people and they essentially left the book loose inside the box to bang around and get all sorts of messed up :((
The Witch's Herbal Apothecary by Marysia Miernowska - $18.69 (Paperback): Described by reviewers as the PERFECT book for recipes and rituals, even one of Marysia's personal students spoke very highly of her, saying that she's the real deal. Other reviews state the book as being very beginner friendly, and beautifully written and illustrated :))
Blackthorn's Botanical Magic: The Green Witch's Guide to Essential Oils for Spellcraft, Ritual, and Healing by Amy Blackthorn - $15.79 (Paperback): again, phenomenal reviews, just a lesser-known book. Again, here's a review from someone who explained the book a bit better than I could:
This book is way more than I thought it would be. I thought it would be like a dictionary - you look up the essential oil and get the definition. It is that but it's also got a few introductory chapters about oils and products and rituals to give you a nice and concise overview of a lot of things you might need to know as a novice. I also like the way you can reference different oils in alpha order but also look up your purpose and find the oil you need.
From the looks of it, this book is specifically about Essential Oils. Is that still Green Witchery?? Lol I'm not sure, but i felt like it should go in this category.
Kitchen Witch (another classic):
Blackthorn's Botanical Brews by Amy Blackthorn - $14.49 (Hardcover): this is mainly a book of recipes for drinks and cocktails and stuff. There was one review complaining about how it didn't have correspondences, meanwhile the book is literally described as being a recipe book? It's an AMAZING book if you enjoy/want to start making homemade elixirs and cocktails :))
The Natural Witch's Cookbook: 100 Magickal, Healing Recipes, and Herbal Remedies to Nourish Body, Mind, and Spirit by Lisanna Wallace - $20.69 (hardcover): This is again just a book of recipes, and the reviews are really good. Here's one of them:
I wanted to write the review as soon as I got the book. I was not expecting this book to be so fantastic. The recipes are very nutritious and the names are very inventive, but I could see that before I tried the recipes. I held off on writing the review until I tasted a few of the recipes. Even my kids were very happy with the flavors of these recipes. They are mostly easy to make and they are very delicious. Be aware though that the food can only be as great as the quality of the ingredients that you get. These are not recipes that call for complicated or fancy ingredients, or even a lot of ingredients. As a result, you have to use the best that you can find/afford to get the best results you can. I did not use expensive ingredients, but everything I used was very fresh and it does make a difference on the outcome. Overall, the book have some great recipes, easy to follow and the end result does look like the ones on the picture.
The Book of Kitchen Witchery by Cerridwen Greenleaf - $12.89 (Paperback):
I am so pleased with this book. It’s so magical and warm. Sometimes the new age genre can be a little too technical or focus too much on religion or putting down particular religions... this was not like that. There are so many lovely tips and easy spells and recipes that are kept fairly light so you can make them your own. The book just makes me happy, it has an energy to it that goes right along with it’s artsy illustrations and at-a-glance format. This will be a great reference. Very grateful to everyone who made this book possible.
A former editor said that there were a few editing mistakes, but nothing too crazy. If that's one of your pet peeves, just beware when buying this book lol (btw the editor still have a 4 star review because they said the book is still very good)
Potions, Elixirs & Brews by Anaïs Alexandre - $12.79 (Hardcover): I just had to include both of these amazing reviews, since both said what the other review did not.
This book is so gorgeous and everything I have been looking for in regards to potions. I love her writing style and the way the book looks. Highly informative and I can feel her good intentions behind the book. She is very intelligent. I respect her and I am inspired by her! I found her by chance looking up books for potions, she also has Instagram! Very grateful, amazing book thank you:-) so happy to be the first comment:p excited to see what else amazing things come from Anais!
And
I adore this book. The art and setup is simplistic and beautiful. There is a system that tells you exactly how difficult each potion will be to make, whether or not it’s alcoholic, and what is the ideal season to make it in. The instructions are clear, the preliminary information is well done, and there’s even a section for brewing large batches which I LOVE. The weight of the book is nice and it feels of good quality. The papers are glossy and, I haven’t yet, but I feel like it won’t be a disaster If you get some of your creation on it. The book is separated into types of potions depending on your intent. This is a perfect book for anyone new to making potions or is interested in a magickal recipe book!
The Witches Feast: A Kitchen Grimoire by Melissa Madara - $35 (Hardcover): This book actually isn't out yet, but it'll be released on October 26th of this year (2021). It looks promising, which is why I put it on the list, and for that much money, it better be good lol
Lunar/Moon/Astrology Witch:
The Complete Guide to Astrology by Louise Edington - $9.49 (Paperback) $22.99 (Hardcover): There's amazing reviews on this book, and one of them said that she's been researching astrology for 23 years!! Here's the review in it's entirety:
I've been a student of Astrology for the past 23 years now, and have read most of the books on this subject that are considered foundational. Many guides to astrology that I page through in a bookstore are fine, but covering information I already know. What I so appreciated about Edington's new book is that she brings a new angle to even the basics of Astrology. Her book feels like a fresh update, more appropriate to our current time in terms of language and sensibility. There are no "evil" aspects or transits in Edington's view, no dark warnings of disaster; her evolutionary perspective encourages us to see the opportunity in even the most challenging times, what can be learned, what can be accomplished. As she says in her book, she doesn't look at the natal chart as something fixed, unchanging, rather a "blueprint rich in meaning and possibility."
I also admired Edington's extensive knowledge of the stories behind the names and symbology used in Astrology: sharing her interpretations of them, how they are useful, how they can be limiting. Concepts I thought I already understood have been unpacked in greater depth by the author, so that I see deeper layers.
This text is beautifully written, well-organized, offering a fresh update, as well as a deeper dive than many astrology texts. This book is an invaluable resource I'll be returning to, and consulting, with appreciation.
Moon Spells: How to Use the Phases of the Moon to Get What You Want by Diane Ahlquist - $11.35 (Paperback): This book is a bit older fashioned in the sense that it's VERY heteronormative, we're talking about love magick SPECIFICALLY for men and all about being a father, and a section of love magick SPECIFICALLY for women and being a mother. So if this gets on your nerves, then i wouldn't recommend this book. Other than that, the reviews are very good and they describe the book as being a must-have for lunar witches.
The Complete Book of Moon Spells by Michael Herkes - $13.49 (Paperback): Yes, this book was written by a man. If that's something that might make you not want to purchase, please look at this and also keep in mind that SO MANY of the most highly esteemed witches of the world ARE MEN. So if you wanna be closed off and refuse their help and their knowledge, go ahead sis, I'm not stopping you.
Tumblr media
He's most definitely not just "some guy". Aside from that, this book has very good reviews. Some people called it "fluffy" and a bit less serious then they anticipated, but it's very good for beginner witches who are finally wanting to start doing spells. Here's a review.
In this book you explore ways to conjure the mysterious power of the moon to manifest your intentions to achieve abundance and balance in your life! Each chapter is devoted to one of the eight phases of the moon and includes various spells, tarot spreads, crystal grids and potions that reflect that phase of the moon!
This is an overall amazing book if you want to build a foundation of learning about the history of the moon, astrology, cycles & phases, ritual tools, crystals, herbs, and essential oils- as well as the moon spells and rituals.
This is one of my new favorite books! I feel so connected to the moon and this book is a great reference for learning the best rituals and spells to use for the different moon phases and energies surrounding them! It’s easy to follow and the lunar rituals, mystical spells and magical drinks are so vibrant, creative and helpful in my spiritual journey. I’d recommend this book to anyone that loves the moon like I do.
Moon Magic: A Handbooks of Lunar Cycles, Lore, and Mystical Energies by Aurora Kane - $19.99 (Hardcover, although there's only three left when I'm looking at it) $9.99 (Kindle):
One review said that the book much surpassed their expectations, and another review said this:
I absolutely adore this book.
If you're just a beginner and want to understand the different moon phases, this is the book to get.
The information inside was extremely helpful without being overly complicated.
Well worth the money spent.
Astrology: Using the Wisdom of the Stars in Your Everyday Life by DK - $14.59 (Hardcover):
I saw this in store and was immediately drawn to it's beautiful and shiny cover! But when I open it, the inside is just as beautiful! I love looking through the pages. I would say it is a very good basic astrology book, but I have another one that gives much more detail. I like this one for more of a quick reference kind of book. It's more of a bullet point style book, where it gives little tidbits instead of paragraphs going in depth. (Though some pages do have paragraphs) BUT, it covers just about everything including all the houses, moon signs, and ascending signs. It covers everything, but it just covers he tip of the iceberg. (In my opinion) I still absolutely recommend it!
Apparently this book is also available in Barnes and Noble, so if you have access to one, you might wanna look there for the book before purchasing off of Amazon :)
Misc Books (General):
The Spell Book for New Witches: Essential Spells to Change Your Life by Ambrosia Hawthorn - $10.19 (Paperback) $20.69 (Hardcover):
This book... It's a very good spell book, and is true in the spells it contains, but MY biggest problem with it is that it's V E R Y Wiccan, and seems almost preachy about the "Threefold Law" and what they like to call "karma". Choosing not to do dark magick is PERFECTLY FINE and being Wiccan is totally okay! But don't be like Christianity and rub it in people's faces, dude. The book talks about how you can ONLY practice "love and light". Other than that, this book is AMAZING and rated literally 5 stars with over 11K reviews. If you lean more Wiccan, by ALL means, buy this spellbook. It's the one for you.
Practical Magic for Beginners by Maggie Haseman - $13.49 (Paperback)
This book is fantastic for the witch who wants to learn more about her craft but doesn't know where to start. Each subject is broken down into easy to absorb bits of wisdom without being overwhelming. A great jumping off place to decide where to dive in deep next.
This book is very comprehensive, and is a great reference guide for beginner witches, or witches looking to add another book to their collection.
Candle Magic For Beginners by Mystic Dylan - $10.86 (Paperback) $21.99 (Spiral bound)
This book is a must have for anyone looking to deepen their connection with the magical element of fire, ritual, and spell work through candle magic! Dylan not only teaches you how to use candle magic for things such as protection, abundance, love, healing, and more, but takes you through the fascinating history of the power of fire & how to properly charge, cleanse, and consecrate your candles to begin manifesting your deepest desires!!! Overall, the book is beautifully written with gorgeous illustration and will hook you from the start!!!!!!!
This book is perfect for beginners to candle magick, or beginners to the craft in general. I personally LOVE candle magic because I've always been attracted to fire. I could void out and just stare at a flame for hours on end lol
Crystals for Beginners by Karen Frazier - $8.99 (Paperback) $20.95 (Spiral bound)
Absolutely love this book!! It’s so informative! I am a beginner and this book explains a lot. Everything a beginner would need to know about crystals is in this book. I am so pleased with it. Best purchase of the week! Definitely worth it. The author explains crystals, chakras and energy so enthusiastically and in a way that is easy to understand. At the end of the book, is a “resources” page with all the websites, books and apps that the Author recommends.
Again, very beginner friendly, but this time it's not spells, it's crystals and such. I've personally been wanting this book for AGES
The Crystal Bible Series by Judy Hall - $38.99 (Volume 1-3 shrink-wrapped set, paperback):
This is my first purchase of the three-part series by Judy Hall. Volume 1 covers over 200 crystals! I can already tell you I'll be purchasing volumes 2 and 3 (each of which cover 200+ MORE crystals/stones, not included in volume 1) I love how each crystal description includes photos to further help in identification. I also appreciate that rarity and sources were included. Information about the spiritual and physical impacts of crystals on the body is in there as well! This book is loaded with a lot of great information and is the perfect quick reference. It's also small and fits easily in my hand. I highly recommend it for beginners.
This is a review from just the first book, and it's from a verified hauler/buyer :)) these aren't exactly newbie friendly, and some people say they're a bit harder to understand.

Aight I'm a good 6 years older then Yeonjun, and I don't stan any 4th gen groups, but fucking Yeonjun and Taehyun dragged me kicking and screaming into TXT when they passed their cutie concept phase and I can't get out. I couldn't find anything for Taehyun on your blog, maybe I didn't know what to search for, but how do you see him? Soft dom, hard dom? Switch? Sub? He gives me a really, really interesting vibe. Very intense, as if he's not afraid of anything when it comes down to it and would try anything, but also reserved?
ahahahaha, i feel you—i'm right around your same age i think and i was lured in by Soobin being an adorable Jin stan, only to find out that once i was in the door, Yeonjun was waiting there to ambush me with his face and his voice and his stupid sweats that say "run up" right on his dick. 💀
you were probably searching just fine, it's just that there was nothing to find! this blog's only a month old and most of the asks i've been getting are about Soobin. so nearly all of what i've been writing is about. Soobin… 😂 (this is NOT me telling anybody to stop btw, i love it, i just also think it's deeply hilarious when the point of this blog was to stop yelling at my roommate about petplay and just write about getting railed by Bang Chan in a fursuit😂😂😂) re: searching my blog, tho, the most consistent set of tags i have is [group name/abbreviation][emoji]; for txt it's txt👾. if you're in the browser, you can find them all to the right of the page under 'Trending Tags'; i also have a link in my pinned navi post, but i'll add them all as actual tags to that post too, just so they're easier to get to.
i wasn't actually planning on writing for Tae or Hyuka, even though they've hit age of majority they're still very much cutie babies to me. (watching Hyuka in Lovesong felt too much like watching a babby cousin try to relive my high school days on tiktok 🥺) i DO know that the latest teasers have been fucking people up, tho, so like. check back in a bit and i might be singing a different song. 👀 (also if anyone wants to send anything my way that might make me change my mind... 👀👀👀)
looking at your question from my currently extremely clinical, well-hydrated perspective, tho—
i think you actually have a really good read on Taehyun! especially in regards to him being kind of reserved—when it comes to romantic/sexual relationships, he’d be very cautious with his feelings up until a certain point, but if you DO manage to get that far with him, then it’s all or nothing—like, following you out of the shire all the way to mt. doom kinda all or nothing. 🥺 and he's definitely the type to only get into d/s stuff with someone he really trusts (honestly, i don't think he'd even get too far along with vanilla physical intimacy without that level of trust, unless something had him really caught up in the moment). once you’re that person, though, buckle the fuck up cause you weren’t wrong about intensity. 😅
he'd take any kind of power play really seriously, even if you’re not interested in doing anything hardcore at first. he does a lot of research and wants to have serious, sit-down talks about what you both want and need, even if he has a hard time looking you in the eye for the first few conversations. it’s actually probably very sweet, because he tries really hard to make sure that you’re comfortable, even as you can see he’s clearly struggling.
Taehyun definitely starts things out sitting across from you at a table because that’s how Serious Grown-Up Converations happen, right? reach over and hold his hand, or better yet, make him move over to the couch with you to cuddle. he’s the type to get into his own head about this kind of thing, i think, so a reminder from you that this is something you’re both in together will go a long way towards him chilling the fuck out. especially if you’re older/more experienced than him—he won’t admit it, but he’s probably looking to the way you behave for cues and feeling like he’s got to try and keep up with you.
i think his personality would have him be slightly more inclined to dom, but inexperience might make subbing a little easier on him to start with; a lot of it would also depend on his partner. so basically, he’s switchy but distinctly dom-leaning. either way, he’ll want to go hard—while for some of the boys, i feel like d/s dynamics with them are more of a natural extension of your regular relationship dynamics, Taehyun would want them to be something distinctly different from your day-to-day. this isn’t a boy who goes halfway with things; whether he’s domming or subbing, he wants it to be exciting and intense and boundary-pushing. by the time the night is over, aftercare will involve putting one of you back together again.
once he’s confident he knows what he’s doing and (most importantly) knows how to read you, he’d honestly be a dream of a dom. he’s observant and careful, learns all your little nonverbal tells, so he knows what you’re feeling maybe even before you do, and uses that to play you like an instrument.
he’d be a really great partner for experimenting with, too, i think. unless it’s something that really squicks him out, Taehyun’s willing to try pretty much anything you’re interest in at least once. going to him with new ideas might be a little intimidating, because he’s more serious and measured, and not the type to immediately jump onboard enthusiastically like some people would *cough*Yeonjun*cough*, but he’ll always hear you out and never judge or shame you for what you want. even if it’s something he’s not that into at first, he’ll read up on it and look up videos; he’s the type of person whose response to “weird” kinks isn’t ‘what the fuck?’, but ‘what’s the appeal there?’, so he ends up rationalizing himself into a lot of new kinks, including most (if not all) of yours.
the only thing i would worry about is honestly him not letting you know where his limits are—he feels like the kind of person who would have trouble safewording when you hit a point that's uncomfortable for him in a scene, just because it's not something he brought up while you were establishing boundaries and rules. he’s the type to be very concerned about safewords and hard limits and aftercare for you, but forget that those things apply to him as well. if the way you two play gets really intense, you’re probably going to hit a point where you need to talk to him about being upfront and honest about what he needs.
