   It was nearing a month since Inej had opted to leave the followers of Sankta Alina. After the battle in the fold, as a part of the Sun Saint's use of the third amplifier, her power had seemingly bled out of her entirely and spread to bless those who were still alive and fighting along side her. Inej had been one of the few and, to say it had been an overwhelming experience to feel the same power that had inhabited a Saint would've been an understatement.

   Learning how to control and utilize her powers properly at the Little Palace had been the path Sankta Alina had walked herself, so Inej firmly believed that was what she ought to do as well—despite the protests of the group. She'd tried to convince them, but the words of The Apparat were far too ingrained into their minds and their beliefs. She couldn't force them see sense; she did notice not all of them dismissed her intentions so readily and she hoped that eventually they would follow in Inej's footsteps. Sankta Alina was not there to teach them and those who too had gained her power had no knowledge of how to control it either.

   The thing Inej hadn't expected was to have one who had been rumored for quite some time to have been close by the Darkling's side as one of her mentors. Several people refused to be trained by him, insisting that his intentions were along the same lines as the Darkling himself, or that he was secretly a part of those who called the Darkling the Starless Saint, who were rumored to think he deserved to be among the rest of them. While she'd initially been wary of him,—her reasoning likely clear enough with the large, scrawling sun tattoo that'd nearly encompassed her entire right arm—she did not refuse. Perhaps it was wishful thinking, but ... Inej thought she could see in his eyes how much it hurt him to be spoken about in such a way.

   Originally, she'd been surprised that he was a combat instructor, given the cane and the limp—but Inej learned quickly that these things did not hinder his skill and proficiency. It was admirable and impressive and it was clear she had a great deal to learn from him. Inej made fast friends with Nina Zenik and learned that she and Kaz were close, like a brother and sister would be. Antagonistic, no doubt, but she could see the fierce care they held for one another underneath. She had asked Nina about him, and she'd told her some things, but ... she'd encouraged her to speak to him instead. Inej did not appreciate the look she'd given her along with the suggestion and she'd given Nina a playful jab with her elbow.

   She'd decided to seek him out on a day when she didn't have combat training with him—and she was pleasantly surprised to have found him in the library. It was quiet and peaceful and, maybe before she'd been encouraged to actually talk to Kaz, she'd done some of her own reading; however, much to her disappointment, Inej found very little. She spotted him easily enough, seated in a thick chair with a book in his lap, his expression intense and focused as it always seemed to be. She approached him silently, her movement purely instinct. She didn't have to think about being silent, she just was.

   ❝Kaz,❞ Inej began—and, with a tiny spark of delight, she realized she'd startled him. She tried very hard not to smile and averted her gaze downward, hands clasped behind her back. ❝I was hoping we could talk.❞

rant about some frustrations about my gender/romantic interests/sexuality, stuggles with labels, and consequences (sorta) below (actually, after typing it out, it mainly ended up being abt my aro-spec self, with the beginning abt gender and tiny bit of sexual attraction)

i think the worst part of being on the spectra of ace, aro, and agender, but not being fully ace, aro, or agender is that it often requires way to much explanation to get yourself across fully and even then people get confused

so i usually just let everyone come to their own conclusions, but no i am not a pansexual transguy (or to those less well versed in the alphabet mafia, bisexual transguy, or even less well versed, bisexual born-in-the-wrong-body-but-now-a-guy) like, im fine with being seen as that!, but it is not who i am

i gave my cousin a 10 minute metaphor and after another half hour of questions and discussions he does get my view on my gender, but thats only one part (he is vv sweet tho, and every now and again refers back to the metaphor to ask how im feeling atm)

like, i dont like labeling myself, and i generally dont use microlabels, i have found a few that sorta get close to my views and experiences, but always with like a 5 minute caveat of this is why it does not fit exactly, and the people who are already well versed enough to be aware of the microlabels are also the ones accepting in listening to a long explanation if desired

from here on my rant will mainly be focussed on my experience/views on my being on the aro spectrum

but i am sooo tired of talking to someone abt smth (mainly romance tho) and having to either just nod along like i feel the exact same, say im aro (and them not accepting, or knowing different cz they have known me for a long time), or having to go into the full spiel of well no but also yes and having to deal with that instead of just the conversation at hand

or even worse, getting asked on a date and then having to deal with that whole thing, cz sometimes i genuinely do think it could be a thing, but it just requires way different expectations and/or circumstances than what that person/those people want or are able/willing to have/provide/give

i am also struggling with seeing my brother have similar(sorta) experiences(at least on romance, not the others). he has now found someone who is accommodating to him (idk her wants/needs/views, but i know that both of them are doing the "dating"(or being partners-ish) thing in a way that works for them). but i hate to see the way my family is reacting to it. like, they just do-not understand how they function, or why they're not boyfriend/girlfriend yet despite having been doing this since march, and they keep on making comments (not to them luckily, but vv much to me) abt their confusion, and wishes for them to just hurry up. or express excitement for him finally having found a partner and that they soo wished for him to have found one sooner, and that it was always meant to happen n stuff like that

and i just know that i will also get those, should i ever do the 'romance' thing, or will probably get even worse should i not do the romance thing

like, i just dont rlly care personally, but everyone else seems to care sooo much that at some point i will have to explain my feelings, and i am not looking foreward to the 'oh but you just haven't found the right person yet' conversation, like, yeah i KNOW, but also, if i dont find them thats fine by me as well?? like, i'm good? and finding the 'right' person(s) is not gonna work for me in all the ways youre suggesting????

i know people not doing it out of malice, and they mean well nd shit, but it is frustrating and tiring, and even worse so cuz i can't just say, i dont do romance at all

It's not a book for everyone! My sister didn't like it because she didn't like that she was engaged. Which I think makes me toxic because I didn't even CARE. I love Macy and Elliot. I think about them 20 times a day. Specifically the part where he calls her honey toward the end and consoles her. I'm a sucker for the comfort trope. But you're right, You Are In Love is about them.

It finally cooled down this past week (it's supposed to heat up again though). I'm doing well. This is the last week of summer school. Can't wait to be done with it. I read a trashy book this weekend and I'm hopeful I'll read another one this week. But I wrote Part 4, 5, and I'm working on 6 of Most so I've been doing literature things but I should be reading more. I need less screen time hahaha. I also watched Maxton Hall and I know it's probably a little young for me, but the enemies to lovers is my weakness.

So, yes I have to say that bias aside, Jimin's project is the one I'm most excited about, for one specific reason: the element of surprise. All of the songs he's put out so far, which yeah are barely a few, but they're all so different from each other. No song is similar to the other, not even in theme. He doesn't even write about one thing in particular. It's exciting. I think it's good for artists to have like a trademark sound that people can listen to and say "oh, this is **** song", but I think Jimin's trademark element is his voice. It's different and recognizable.

I wanted to talk about how his verses sound different in every song in BE, I remember there was a compilation out there somewhere on twitter but I couldn't find it. I found this tweet tho lmao 😭

I would also love to listen to him in an R&B track. Also listen to him singing in his lower range, the way he did in the first BTS albums. As I'm typing this I can't stop thinking about love is not over. It would be amazing if he could bring back some of that. I actually think he might do it.

okay i’m not as well-versed in it as you may think haha, i just get excited abt it and post when i find something that looks exciting or interesting! i’ll try my best to think of some here that i think may be worth mentioning, and do my best to remember triggers!!

1. My Princess Charming - I picked this one up recently and its SOOO CUTE. It’s still ongoing, but it’s about a popular girl who’s sick and tired of guys hitting on her all the time. She decides to find a fake boyfriend to fend them off, and sees someone who’s rlly hot and decides to ask them to be her fake boyfriend. Turns out that that person is actually a girl, and a lesbian at that. This manhwa is pretty light-hearted and hilarious (but not without drama ofc!)  I find the main character absolutely adorable. There is one scene with some minor transphobia, but it’s one line and I don’t think it was with malicious intent, but I wont make excuses for it, just a fair warning.

2. Unrequited Love Affair - This one’s actually by the same author as the first one! It’s also pretty cute. It’s about a girl who’s been in love with her straight best friend for over 10 years. She meets someone new and decides to try to finally move on from her unrequited love, but her best friend notices that she’s not paying as much attention to her and starts behaving strangely. I enjoyed this one, it was a cute and pretty quick read, but I’m a bit sour because I do think the main character and both love interests should’ve just made a polycule or somethin idk

3. Living Will - Okay, this one is for those who can handle tragedies in gay stories. Fair warning, it’s not a happy ending. It’s about two women -- a prostitute and an assassin -- how they meet, their lives entagle, and fall in love. It’s a quick read, there aren’t many chapters. TWs for violence, death, nudity, and blood.

4. Her Tale of Shim Cheong - I’ve recc’d this before but this is genuinely one of the best wlw manhwas i’ve ever read. The art and story is beautiful, and i think it goes hand in hand with RGU and the Handmaiden in terms of stories about girls overcoming and/or escaping the oppressive structure of patriarchy/gender roles through the relationships they have with each other...so. chef’s kiss<3 TWs for grooming, sexual assault and pedophilia. There were a few scenes that were uncomfortable for me to read because they felt fetishistic, but only a few (and there’s nothing explicit) for the most part I think the manhwa does a good job of being respectful (at least, compared to other yuri/GL works). There was someone who told me that either the artist or author (cant remember) reblogged some nsfw art of the characters but I never got a chance to confirm since I don’t use twitter. Just want to let you know that if you decide to read it before going in, since I didn’t. (I’m pretty sure you can find this online without having to pay for it, if you don’t want to support the artist/author)

5. Beware the Villianess! - I haven’t caught up with this one yet, but from what I read so far, I found it really funny and entertaining. It’s about a girl who dies and wakes up reincarnated as the villianess of a storybook, meaning she’s the antagonist who’s supposed to envy the protagonist and make things miserable for her (think typical jealous shoujo mean girl). But things in the story now start to change since she’s been reincarnated. I don’t even know if it really counts as a LGBT webtoon, but one of the love interests is the female protagonist and its fucking hilarious. 

6. Tamen de Gushi - I think most people are familiar with this one, but I’m including it anyway. Super cute comic about two girls in a relationship. It’s really funny and light-hearted. It’s been a while since I’ve read it/caught up, but I don’t recall a particular plot? I think it’s just a slice of life, and that it doesn’t necessarily follow a chronological order. Correct me if I’m wrong tho.

Anyways, that’s all I have for now, there’s a bunch I’ve been meaning to check out but haven’t gotten the chance to yet. Maybe I’ll add to this list once I get to them. Sorry most of these are mainly WLW, I don’t really have any recs for MLM (mainly bc I haven’t been able to find any good ones) but if anyone else does, feel free to add on!

i remember your cascu being a doctor in a modernverse and i am very humbly holding up my own modernverse for this girl! i am especially eye-ing that bit with cascu and his daughter because 👀 definitely see some potential for parallels here! maybe he could interact with a modern hakuno... og human hakuno in particular 🤔 from her high school days up to years later when she's about to get cryopreserved maybe! cuz in my canon for her, her relationship with her own parents are good but distant (from her end! to give a quick summary here: because of her illness, she feels like a burden to them and thinks they'd be better off without her ^_T tho that's honestly the constant hakuno mood in any verse rlly--) so i feel like it might be interesting to see how that'd play out and contrast with cascu and his dilemma with his daughter..... it'd be really wholesome if they could help each other mend the bonds with their respective family members methinks!! but i am not opposed to an unsatisfying kind of an ending where they don't...
