First the ones I agree with that I've seen a shit ton of people mention >:33

- He is a fatherly figure to Peni. I can imagine when they see each other again, she'd run to him and give him the biggest fucking hug ever. She experienced her Canon Event between ITSV and ATSV too, right? So I can see her needing comfort so badly, and the only ones she ever truly grew close to were Noir and Ham.

- He'd 10000/10 get along so well with Hobie. Along with Hobie legit mentioning his hatred for the AM, PM and fuckin NAZIS IN THE COMIC ,

he'd be rambling so much with Noir about common interests and get along so well with him. Imagine he badazzles him in punk attire and based on this image:

(I'll link where I found the image tomorrow when I'm on my laptop lol if I remember) but based on this image, he teaches Noir how to play the guitar and shit and OUYGG I WANNA SEE THEM INTERACT (they're my fave Spiderverse characters so 👉👈)

- OHOHOHO He loves the colour purple. So much. He can't see it, ofc but he has such a love for the colour that he sees any beautiful colour- or well, of what he can see of colours, and thinks every pretty colour is Purple.

- MJ see's Noir/Peter as a brother and he see's MJ as a sister in turn. There is no romantic attraction at all. Yeah, this means MJ see's Aunt May as a nice Aunt Figure she can go to and talk to about things.

Now onto some of my own headcanons- or some that I don't see mentioned a ton. These have probably been said before but oh well, these are just what I like and my brain go BRRR

- Felicia is taller then Noir. (For those unfamiliar, Felicia is a character from the comic.) Yes that'd probably make her freakishly tall based on how tall Noir is in the movie, but that comic panel of when he first meets her rots in my brain.

- Felicia still has her mask from her ordeals. However, unlike how she pushes away Peter, they actually become friends again. Comfort each other. They swore they'd never be in a relationship again.

- Noir is a combo of both his OG comics personality and 2020's comics personality. I see movie noir as anywhere between 19 - 21. He's learning and developing as a human still. He's calmer and kinder and resembles how his personality is in the newer comics, however, based on this deleted scene LOL, makes me think he looses his shit easily and goes actually feral.

- Oh yeah, Noir most definitely adopted Ding Ding btw. He probably is nearly at the newer comics stage of his life, being a private eye and such, drinking his fucking egg creams like newer comics noir SBSBBS So he found and adopted Ding Ding.

- Despite being young (19 - 21) he has serious eyebags man, dudes sleep deprived 😔 I'm also heavy on the Spiderverse portrait of him unmasked that I don't really draw/see him with facial scars but he could totally have them after the shit he went through 💀

- Noir is a part-time singer. I will not elaborate.

There's so many other things I wrote down that I want to share, but they're on my computer 😭 so you get these for now hhhh

⊹ I'm done with my last internship!! which means im no longer a student, but now unemployed :DD

⊹ I went to a wedding for the first time in about 7 or 8 years, i think. it was lively! (I took the middle-left picture there.)

⊹ I (unintentionally) lost weight. Around 7-8 kilos since may. i mean, i needed to lose weight and I still do, but the fact that it happened without dieting makes me happy :)

⊹ I’m visiting Germany in September!! I’m sooo excited because the only time i’ve been abroad was for just 4 days, but this time i’ll be there for almost a month!! i’m trying to stay calm, but i’m seriously so excited!!!

⊹ I need a series to binge!! i officially don’t have school starting tomorrow!! it’s impossible to believe lol. i need some dramas to watch… please suggest some ;)) (i also love true crime docuseries!)

⊹ i still have some things to do, though—like graduation and internship paperwork. It’s just paperwork, but the deadlines are important, and there’s a lot of it. So, I still need to focus and get things done. (boo hoo)

⊹ College is over, but I still need to study for language proficiency and master's exams in November. I'll be updating this blog more frequently from now on!!

⊹ I'm starting therapy this month, and this time I'm determined to go through with it. i know it's a bit ironic, being a psychology grad and being scared of therapy :) But i never knew where to start or how to openly face the challenges. Sharing everything with a stranger also feels uneasy :) I still don't feel fully ready for it, but I've decided to cross that bridge when I come to it. I just need to take that first step,,

TL;DR

I’ve closed a chapter in my life now, and I’m already excited for the next phase—my master’s journey. For this summer, I had so many plans, but I couldn’t find the time for most of them :( Now, I’ll focus on relaxing while also staying productive over the next two months. I don’t want to push myself too hard, though, because I haven’t had a vacation longer than one month since 2020!

For the past two weeks, I’ve been listening to just this album. Thanks to Google’s algorithm, the moment I started listening, my YouTube recommendations were flooded with analysis videos about Tyler, the Creator and IGOR :) He’s truly an amazing artist, and although I don’t have enough knowledge to praise him thoroughly, I can definitely appreciate how impressive this masterpiece is. You’ve probably heard it before, but I hope you’ll click and listen to it from start to finish again when you see this post!

Some Kalafina Updates

We got a new Kyoichi Sato blog post today and there was brief mention of Kalafina (he probably received a few inquiries and was asked about his opinion). While he kept it quite vague (probably to not step on anyone's toes during these tense circumstances), he still made his joy and support obvious by referring to one of his old blog posts where he shared a lot of his feelings regarding Kalafina.

P.S. I can offer no information regarding the whole Kalafina incident. However, my feelings are still as stated in the P.S. I wrote in my blog post on July 16, 2022, "Return of the Rainy Season 2022."

I posted about it back in the day. Here's the relevant part:

PS: I would like to talk a little more about Kalafina. Kaji-chan and Mori-san were the ones to cultivate the soil and to sow the seeds but it was the tireless effort of the three members that made this wonderful flower of music bloom to its full potential (and maybe us musicians also contributed a little bit with our slender means). Their hard work is the vertical thread that is running through 10 years worth of music, starting from the theme songs of “Garden of Sinners” right up until their final live at Nippon Budokan. And then we have the fans who have been supporting Kalafina throughout the years, they make up the horizontal thread. Together they are woven into the most beautiful and amazing tapestry. This tapestry is still in my heart and will continue to shine brightly until the end of time. It would make me very happy knowing that for all the fans, Kalafina’s music also represents an ever-lasting beautiful tapestry.

The tapestry talk is a reference to a song called "Ito". Be sure to listen Wakana’s cover of “Ito”.

Other than that, it has been very quiet on the Kalafina front. No social media updates from the girls. Not even any of the regular posts and streams (such as Hi's Youtube updates or her Music Champ live streams). I guess they are still trying to lay low to avoid any more direct backlash. I wonder if we'll get at least a proper video message or something for tomorrow's ticket lottery launch. I mean, they can't remain quiet forever, right?? Let's hope for the best!! *fingers crossed* I'll probably die if I see all three of them interact on video again XD

Christmas at the Mansion (+ the castle)

I'm posting this now because I leave for a trip for the holidays tomorrow (and I don't know how my schedule will be), although I also have an old holiday scenario queued up for Christmas day :) If you celebrate anything, Happy Holidays, and if not, have a nice end of the year! I'll still be around to answer questions and post quotes and stuff at the very least.

Like with Thanksgiving, first and foremost, Slender is cooking and baking a fuck ton of food. But, he's got a lot more company in the kitchen this time as LJ, Candy, and Jason are all making a whole bunch of candy and cakes and other desserts as it's their time to shine. LJ actually has his own candy-pulling hook, and he makes homemade candy canes for everyone in whatever flavors they might want that year (they usually vote on them and he'll make a few batches), and everyone snacks on them while waiting for dinner to be ready. 

I think they probably do Secret Santa in the mansion because there are just so many of them, and if they want to get an extra gift for specific people they're allowed to do that too, although those gifs are usually exchanged privately, although Slender gets at least one gift for every resident. They all get up early in the morning, and Slender will make a big yummy breakfast with pancakes, homemade cinnamon rolls, and hot chocolate for everyone, and they'll sit around the giant tree and exchange all the Secret Santa gifts. Some years they might do themes, but most of the time they just all try and get something that they think their person will enjoy. After they exchange those gifts, if anyone got an extra gift for specific people they usually pair off and exchange those. 

After the gift exchange, it's Christmas movie time. They'll go into the big living room and they take turns picking Christmas movies to pass the time while Slender is making Christmas dinner. Everyone snuggles up with their hot chocolate and just relaxes, telling jokes and funny stories while they watch Christmas movies they grew up on, and it's fun for the creeps that were/are human to show movies to the demonic residents who haven't seen them yet. For lunch, Slender will usually have Tim prepare some food for everyone, and by that time the candy canes are usually ready so everyone snacks on those as well. 

By the time dinner is ready everyone's excited and rushing into the dining room to have Slender's famous Christmas feast. Slender usually has his brothers and his mom over for Christmas dinner, Toby invites his mom over, and Natalie invites her younger brother. Everyone is happy to be surrounded by the family they love, especially since Mrs. Rogers and Slender's mom always bring extra dishes that taste so fucking good. It's one of the most lively dinners in the mansion because everyone's bantering and sharing stories about each other, and the room always fills with laughter and smiles. I think Slender's mom would probably also get gifts for all of the residents (and the extra guests) too, and she'd share them after dinner was over. After dinner, everyone normally just hangs out and plays video games or board games, especially if someone got a new one for Christmas, and they'll just spend time together laughing and having fun until everyone gets too tired to stay awake anymore.

On the other side of the Underworld, Zalgo also tries to have a Christmas for his employees as well. He and the best cooks of his employees will prepare a gigantic, lavish feast for all of the workers that reside in the castle, and they'll all eat together in the large dining room in the castle meant to fit all of them. Zalgo also takes care to provide a gift for all of his employees, and while he has well close to 100 including his castle and the employees of his assassination company, he makes sure to get them a gift they'll honestly enjoy. Of course, they always get him gifts as well, even if he tells them that he doesn't need them, but the blush and shy smile on his face at their generosity makes it worth it for them to do so. Zalgo will have to return to some work eventually, but he does his best to provide a good holiday to his workers, as he feels they deserve it for all of the hard work that they do.

Lisztober #31: The End of All Things

The end is here. One last song. Does anyone actually have any idea how we ended up here, from ���Zeitmaschine‘ on? No? Neither do we. But it was incredible fun. We laughed, we cried (I cried… a lot), we were sometimes without a plan and then again not...and now we're here, after 31 days… and it hurts to say goodbye, my darlings. It really does. Lisztober was pretty life-defining for 4 weeks. Energy-sapping. Motivating. And extremely beautiful.

55 pages of handwritten pages in my notebook (I always write everything by hand, it's a creative spleen, I'm superstitious), a total of 1:58 hours of music (Oh God!). And that's just the end product. You wouldn't believe how many night-overs we've spent...

And a broken box, a stinky studio (pizza boxes!), hoarseness (‘Sttttirrrb!’), 24 Liszt biographies, lots of coffee, lots of empty wine bottles and more cigarettes than I've ever smoked before (I promised Lacelove that I'd quit in November. Again.) For you, for Franz, for us. What a ride.

The bets are already on that I in particular will now fall into a deep hole of depression. To be honest: probably.

And I'll tell you when this moment will come: Tomorrow at the latest, when I have to stand in front of Franz Liszt's grave in Bayreuth and I'll almost certainly cry. Without a mask.  Franz and I, we have seen so much of each other this month,I won’t need any. And none of you want that on the video, believe me. If anyone is able see all the tension fall away from me, it's him. By the way, if you want me to bring him something from you, say something. I'd be happy to. He'll definitely get a candle and flowers.

What's left to say now? No more songs about Franz's terrible last days. About his funeral. About the Wagners. Just this: ‘Oh, lieb, so lang Du lieben kannst.’ Didn't you realise how tricky we handled the topic on Lisztober #6? That's why:

No Lisztober without Liebestraum No3. We're not peasants (after all). My shitty piano skills are hidden deep within this song. And I think you can even hear our relief and love here. We were exhausted. That‘s what Franz may have wanted too. To remember him as he was. With all his facets. Wild, beautiful, thoughtful, reverent and unique. Memento Mori.  And after 31 days with all the ups and downs, would I still make love to Franz Liszt as my first duty, if I had a time machine? More than ever, by God.

What if Luka expects Hyuna to come like she did in his round with Mizi and he is plotting something.He has the trust of aliens,the love of the public and no one would suspect him to do something outside the box,far from the image he created of himself.Hyuna made her appearence in round 5 when we didn't expected it. If the round isn't entirely dedicated to Ivan and Till,this may be an option.He may confront Mizi and Hyuna,they may not be able to rescue Ivan and Till and not make it in time. Luka may not appear at all.

Ok this is the worst joke I could ever make.

Oohh. Luka appearing in ROUND 6 would honestly be insane. I thought about him making an appearance in the short teaser scene before credits, but if he actually confronted anyone himself that would be so interesting. Imagine all 6 of them in the same episode... the same room... no way... the Alien Stage would be real...

Luka attempting to sabotage Mizi and Hyuna is such an intriguing concept. I do think he's figured out that Hyuna will be returning, he grew up with her, after all. He's most likely aware of her penchant for protecting people. He probably expects Mizi to come back for the only friends she has left, too. He couldn't do anything the first time he saw Hyuna after ROUND 5, but he might be more eager to get his hands on her now. If we get our first adult Hyuna and Luka interaction during ROUND 6 I'd actually go insane. as much as I hope for it though, I'm not sure whether or not it will actually happen. ROUND 6 already has a lot going for it. A final confession of love already makes for a heavy episode, but with Till's newly revealed backstory added to the mix? 2025 week two songs review

i forgot to do last weeks lol, i'll get around to it. This is a good week

Vogue: April's back! Love that the mentioned her by name in the teaser. This time shes left the 80s behind and is now in the 90s lol. She does look a bit more mature in this one, probably to reflect that the song is a 90s song as opposed to IWDWS being 80's. Even with how the store she's in has changed now selling more cds. wonder if any other coaches will appear in the background like they did. I kinda want to draw April now. They have temporarily privated the preview lol, probably because it said it was the ballroom version by accident.

Vogue (Ballroom): At first i thought the lighting looked weird but then i watched it again and it looked normal. Do we know who the dancer is? i'm guessing either one of the choreographers or its someone whos apart of a collab. I know nothing about the vogue style of dance, but this looks like its going to be sore on the arms. I find it weird when there's an actual human in the games because i'm so used to seeing the regular coaches that when the likes of Ava Max or annother real person show up, it throws me off.

Something I Can Feel: They said on twitter that this one incorporates sign language into it as the singer is deaf. It's really cool to look at, dance looks fun as well. At first i thought that this could be the forgotten queen before the events of human, but the more that i look at it the more it looks like the dancer is performing to an audience. Its nice when we get songs like this. I also really like the jump they do, its just satisfying to me.

Yeah!: This ones so funny to me for some reason. Like he's trying to be serious, but he isn't and comes off as more cute than anything. Looks really fun though. Love how he goes into the ddr machine for the chorus. The more i watch it the more adorable the dancer looks and the more he looks like Tyler from Sk8er boi, maybe it is him but we probably won't know until Just Dance tells us his name or posts a meme tomorrow. Can't wait to get the gold move to get a YEAH on YEAH!

Last week i felt that they chose the most random points to cut the previews off at, where as this week it feels like they chose the right parts to end so you still get a good idea. This is a fun week

I love how the coaches that have been returning get updated looks. Like lady citrus from last week is so vibrant and The bride's original look is so clean looking now. Even April, who first appeared last year, now looks like shes adapted to the change of the 90s. Honestly i really like how coaches have been returning as it makes them feel like actual characters. Its also really funny when they bring the most random coach back like did anyone know that Captain Crimson was the coach from Jump in the line before it was mentioned in his lore video, then you go and check and it is the same guy, only more ravaged.

They still haven't updated the 2025 playlist wth this week's and last week's songs.

The Phantom of the Opera | Seoul, South Korea | October 8-14th, 2023 [REVIEWS]

Wow it's about time I posted these reviews that I kept lying about (this week! tomorrow! in 10 years!) Better late than never?

In this post I'll drop a few general things about the production, but the performances are analyzed in my reviews linked here. I recommend reading those all in order since I revisit points about actors I've made previously along the way to avoid repeating myself. Also leaving a disclaimer that these performances are from October so there are some changes in what the actors are doing now (with the exception of Jeon Dong-seok since he left in November) Apologies in advance for my wordiness, but this is more of a "release my feelings for my sake and if anyone else likes it that's cool too" kind of thing? Listen - I wrote a lot of notes on my performances there. So just go in knowing this is the more coherent version of my insane looking notes app!

Before I start I want to thank a few lovely friends who helped me out with this trip because it wouldn't have gone as well as it did without them!

Thank you to @lucygold95 for helping me so much with planning over the past months and for giving me the best time in Busan. Thank you @capitanogiorgio for all the shenanigans we went through and the most special time going to the 1500th and meeting Yoon Young-seok. STAGE & THEATER

This was as close to the original staging as possible. So I was able to take it in one more (or I guess 6 more?) times post-Broadway closing. The Charlotte Theater is a lot smaller than the Majestic so every view was pretty solid in my opinion, even the second to last row. I took a video of my view from 4th row under the chandelier during the exit music on October 11th so you can see! The angel and chandelier are shown halfway through. I'd say 5th row was almost the cut off for the chandelier drop (that was my spot next day) Broadway seats in this area were always too expensive for me so I'm glad I was able to grab these spots for this production

There were photo zones you can take pics at which you've probably seen. One was a large rose wall, the other was the cute statue of their mascot 오유령. People also take forever lining up for the cast boards for photos and yes I was one of those people. Here's a comparison of the cast boards from the second season (pictures I found when reading old reviews on Naver) and the cast boards now (I forgot to take a photo of one on the top floor though)

I found this review where someone took more detailed clean photos than I did if you're curious about the layout and decorations!

MERCH AND GIFTS

The tickets had these designs! If you booked on Yes24, you received a special envelope and a ticket holder with the face of the Phantom performing for that show

I only didn't receive a second Ju-taek because that was booked on another site - Interpark (bottom middle ticket). I also received paper masks with printed autographs every day I went to commemorate the 200th performance of the run/100th for Seoul and the 1500th overall Korean performance. We used them for the curtain call photos on those two dates (with Jeon Dong-seok then Kim Ju-taek). There are multiple versions of the program book and at the time of writing this I have all except the Daegu one. The first Busan program book was pretty bare and only had the teaser pictures - the same was the case for my Les Mis program book in Busan. -There are different photos in each one, so to me it was worth grabbing them all. My third version signed by Kim Ju-taek is currently on display as you can see below! (The writing says "내 노래를 날게 해 주오 - Make my song take flight") Once again thank you to Lucy for this! 🥹❤️

TRANSLATION

Let me emphasize this: my Korean abilities are limited, so don't look to me as the expert on this at all. But I'll still share my notes and perspective as an outsider who's studying The lyrics have changed quite a bit since 2001-2. There are still lines kept or songs that are mostly similar. MOTN had a lot of similarity to 2009-11 even with its changes, STYDI was identical to 2009-11, but Angel of Music was pretty different from even the last season, etc etc. The Phantoms all have unique lines sprinkled here and there, mainly in MOTN (this happens sometimes in Korean musicals). You get some things like random single line changes in some parts depending on the actor or different order/wording of the same lines as well. Just tiny diversions from the script. This is the case for the Christines and Raoul to a lesser extent. Additionally, actors are often permitted to do some occasional improvisation/ad libs. Some unique lines are pretty normal parts of their interpretations now, some appear depending on the feeling of the performance, some are one time only events. I'll mention some of the actor-specific ones and such in their actual reviews, but I have been trying to mark down all of the differences like these for example

Of course, some things obviously have to be adjusted to make sense because of cultural / linguistic reasons. So one example would be the "Wrote...written" line in Notes I. Firmin speaks rudely and informally, but quickly tries adding a more respectful ending particle 요 after Raoul and André give him a shocked 'what did you just say?' kind of look. So "대체 뭘 썼다고 하는 건데...요!" is pretty much like "What the hell are you saying I wrote?" André would look so embarrassed by this each time 🫣

퇴근길 / STAGE DOOR

Stage door doesn't really work the same as it does in places like New York, London, etc. Most of the time if an actor comes out it's more like a quick greeting or chat with the fans. Some actors (not in this case) might sign or take photos in designated spots, but it really depends and it's not so common. It's gotten more restricted ever since COVID as well. 퇴근길 -> "way home from work" is literally what this is called. Dong-seok did wave at us a few times happily after the 200th performance, Gun-ha briefly came out to thank fans after the 1500th while Ceci and I waited to meet Young-seok who had agreed to meet us. I did not have the time (or strength) for the Seung-woo mob, but he usually greets fans after shows.

I literally asked Yoon Young-seok directly on Instagram if Ceci and I could meet him and give him gifts because I figured it didn't hurt to try! When he agreed, my anxiety was not necessarily about meeting an actor, but more about my ability to express my thoughts in another language. But he was truly the sweetest guy and incredibly patient. I think he got that I understood everything he said, but that replying was a whole other challenge. I'm glad I was making enough sense that he was able to get my points and helped me finish sentences if I looked stressed about it 😂 I basically told him I had been planning this trip since the cast announcement because it was too perfect to miss and that I came for 6 shows. I really like to listen to his Phantom on the cast recordings and I thought he made the shows I had seen so far so much fun.

We both said where we were from (the US and France) and he was amazed. He was also shocked when I pulled out my original Korean cast recording (I still laugh thinking about the way he said "와, 세상에!" like "Wow, oh my god!" and enthusiastically took it agreeing to sign when I was mid-way asking him haha) I also thought it was funny when he asked Ceci if she saw his Phantom last season. We wish! But she mentioned she had gone to Busan a few times and he looked very touched and appreciative that we went to multiple performances 🥹 This poor man was tired he signed our things with November (11.13) though and he also spelled Ceci's name wrong first time, but it was the 1500th show though okay. And if he says it's November...who are we to question him? Ceci should also legally change names so he isn't wrong. Anyway, ramble over you can find the art we made for him in this post

OTHER

Here's just bonus fun I had that I will manage to connect to POTO despite it not being POTO because I love doing that. I mean I went because I like these musicals as well (otherwise I would've been foolish enough to go see Ben-Hur but I have, uh, standards for my plots sorry to Park Eun-tae 😭), but it's fun to point out these things. I'm happy to share my show experiences in a different post if anyone's interested in my thoughts on those

Rebecca

I went to see Rebecca, mainly focused on seeing a scheduled date for 이지혜 Lee Ji-hye (Ich) and 장은아 Jang Eun-ah (Mrs Danvers). The whole cast was fantastic. Some Korean musicals have special encore bits they do where the leads sing a part of a song from the show during bows so that was really fun. Unfortunately, we don't get to have fun at POTO like that haha

Lee Ji-hye was in Y&K Phantom as Christine in the same cast as Jeon Dong-seok (Erik), Yoon Young-seok (Gérard Carrière), and Lee Sang-jun (Cholet). Two other cast members in Rebecca were in Y&K as well - 에녹 Enoch (Maxim) who was Philippe and 신영숙 Shin Young-sook (Mrs Danvers) who was Carlotta. Sadly, they had such few shows this season due to a busy schedule, so I couldn't see them (when will trot give Enoch back to musicals). Original Korean ALW Raoul and Y&K Erik 류정한 Ryu Jeong-han was also on rotation as Maxim, but I picked another day for my show so I didn't see him either

Les Misérables

I went to opening night of Les Mis in Busan! It was the Dream Theater, same place POTO played at before. As many of you already know, Choi Jae-rim is playing Jean Valjean at the same time as the Phantom.

I could recognize him easily as the Phantom, but honestly when he appeared at the very start of Les Mis it took me a minute to process that it was him! While I did enjoy his Phantom a lot, I think I enjoyed his Valjean performance a little more. It was only opening night, so curious to see how things develop!

The actor who played Javert that night, 카이 Kai (stage name), was a former Y&K Erik for two seasons too. So many Phantoms!

Frankenstein

On the last day I got to see Dong-seok and Ji-hye once more in a concert for the musical Frankenstein which they have been in together. So have some pics I took without a mask blocking his face!

Ending Note

Thinking back to December 2022 when I said: "Maybe I'll go to Seoul and see Dong-seok once or twice and that's it, I can have my first international POTO" That was funny. That was really very very funny and silly of me to say. 9 performances and 6 of those were POTO! But I'm so grateful and I have zero regrets about it. This is one of the best experiences I've had even if it might look ridiculous to some people to do something like this...I don't care! I hope my crazy essays can help paint a good picture for you!

Good evening, lovely. Ali here. I am done for the night and I am tired. They are BIG mad. Surprisingly though him liking the Ryan picture is still the thing they seem most upset by, they just make no sense at all. I did get a surprising amount saying things like 'we need to start acknowledging the likelihood of what we're seeing' which was a nice change of pace from all the shouting. But I fear Oliver and Ryan will never be able to defuse the rumors now 🤣. I reminded several people that Kenny, not 911, was responsible for most of the content we received today so only one post was official PR. It was a big something though. I can't talk them down from the 911 comment replies though, those were truly surprising. I'm still stunned the Eddie Mercury comment got a reply. That was quite a big wink and nod to queer Eddie.

There are many many more I didn't reply to. Hope your box fared better than mine.

Anyway they both looked incredible today and the powers that be are making it increasingly difficult to not go there so.........💗

I totally understand the exhaustion after answering so many asks. I cannot begin to tell you just how tired I am at this point. I'm running on fumes. I've been sitting here all evening (and night now), watching everything unfold and replying to as many asks as I could. After this I'm straight off to bed to catch up on some sleep.

I've seen them get so pissed over Lou liking that picture and I still don't get it. It's just a picture. One of my nonnies figured out that Lou knows the photographer, which makes sense since both Lou and Ryan are artists. They probably do know some of the same people.

Glad to see that some of these people are coming back down to Earth from Loupiter. It was about time.

Yeah, Kenny's videos created so much havoc. I have a feeling that he lives for creating messes. Love him so much! His videos, combined with the official promo done by Ryan and Oliver? Those two truly were everywhere today and they looked so FINE! That moustache is doing things to me I didn't know a moustache could do. :b LOL!

As for those comments on the official Instagram account: I talked about that as well in one of my asks. They were so surprising. The 911abc account normally only posts and doesn't interact all that much. But that post got quite a few replies and like you said, the Eddie Mercury one was very much about queer Eddie. It's interesting.

I have a ton of unanswered asks in my inbox, but I can't physically reply to all of them. It's impossible. I would be at it for hours on end each day. I might go back in tomorrow though. I didn't really look at the lasts couple of asks I got. I'm saving that for tomorrow. I'm too tired. I need sleep.

"Ibiza is boring. And seeing our luck today, I'm sure we would have had the same problems" she laughs.

"Probably, yes."

"I'm gonna text my mum and tell her we made it safe and sound. What was the Wifi password?"

"That guy got so excited when he recognized you. Rúben Dias, oh my God!" Mila says, typing on her phone. "You always are so cute with all the fans."

"Because I am cute" he says, hugging her the same way she always hugs him, with an arm and a leg over her.

"You actually are, yes" she says, turning her head to kiss him. "Oh, wow."

"That good was that kiss?" Rúben laughs.

"Idiot” Mila chuckles. “I was talking about my notifications, they are going wild. I have like... twenty missed calls from my agent. A few from yours. And so many texts from... Literally everyone."

"That's odd."

"Very" she says, her phone ringing on her hand. "Oh, remind me to change my ringtone. I hate it."

"But I picked it for you!" Rúben says.

"Exactly" she smirks. "Hey, what happened?"

"Finally, Mila! Where the hell have you been?" her agent asks her over facetime.

"Having a really bad day. Our flight from London got delayed twice, then we missed the car that was driving us to the town where we are staying, the one we managed to get had problems with a tire... We literally just made it to the house."

"And why was your phone turned off?"

"Oh, that's another problem we've had. Our data isn't working, I'm using the house's WiFi."

"Then you have no idea about what is going on."

"Did something happen?" Rúben asks.

"Yeah, just a little something like The Sun posting a video of you two kissing at the Etihad."

"They what?" Mila and Rúben say at the same time, sitting up on the bed.

"What you just heard."

"Holy shit" Mila says.

"How has it been? Too much chaos?" Rúben asks.

"Not really. Most people have had the same reaction we all had when you told us: it was about damn time. I've been discussing it with your agent, and we think it's best if we say nothing. There are no bad reactions beyond the tantrums from your fans who hate Mila, and it hasn't made it to many other news outlets. I'm sorry to say this, but you guys aren't interesting enough."

"Shame" Rúben laughs. "So we just... Keep going with our lives as if nothing happened?"

"Basically" Mila's agent shrugs. "Just do whatever you feel comfortable with. If you want to keep things quiet for a while, do it. If you want to post each other on social media like you always do, keep doing it. And if you want to make it Instagram official, we aren't stopping you either."

"Ok" Mila sighs. "But do we know who sold that video?"

"No idea, they aren't saying a word. Did you see anyone that day after the game? You are inside, and Rúben still is wearing his kit."

"Oh... Oh!" Mila says, hitting Rúben in the arm.

"Ouch! What now?"

"Sasha!"

"Sasha?" he asks.

"She saw us kissing! And she had her phone on her hand, she dropped it, and that's how we noticed her. We didn't see anyone else, just her."

"Why would Sasha sell a video of us kissing?"

"Maybe because she hates me? And now the paparazzis waiting for us outside the restaurant when we went out with her and Jack, make sense. She looked that good on the photos because she knew where they were!"

"Wait a minute" Mila's agent says. "Sasha as in Jack Grealish's girlfriend? You think it was her?"

"Yes!"

"Mila, that's... That's crazy. She would never do something like that" Rúben says.

"Well, she's my number one suspect."

"I'll make some calls tomorrow and see if I can find out anything else. For now, you guys just enjoy your holidays, don't let this ruin them for you."

"We will, don't worry" Rúben smiles.

"Good night, guys."

"Bye" Mila says, hanging up. "But I'm telling you, it was her."

"And I'm telling you it could have been anyone. We were a bit busy in case you don't remember, and someone could have walked behind us and we wouldn't have noticed. We didn't notice her until she dropped her phone."

"That's true" Mila says, biting her lower lip.

"Listen, why don't we eat something and go to bed, uh? You must be exhausted."

"I actually am, yes" she sighs. "A good night of sleep will definitely do me good."

"And it will make you stop with all these conspiracy theories."

"It is not a conspiracy theory."

"Isn't it?" Rúben asks, arching an eyebbrow.

"Shut up" she replies, putting her hand on his face. "Ouch!"

"I'm hungry and you taste too good" he says with a mischievous smile, grabbing her hand and starting to bite her little finger.

"You are crazy, Rúben" Mila laughs.

"Breakfast!" she says, showing Rúben the pan where she is cooking.

"I do" she says, flipping the omelet she's making while humming some random song. Humming while moving her hips from side to side, and making Rúben feel... Things.

"Do you still believe it was Sasha the one who sold the video?" he asks, trying to think of anything but Mila's butt.

"After watching the video a few times I'm convinced it was her."

"Really?"

"Yep" she says, picking a plate from the cupboard next to her head, stretching her body in a way that makes Rúben start to feel a bit uncomfortable with his.

"I just don't see the reason why she would do it."

"She's always disliked me and wants to ruin my relationship because she's unhappy on hers" Mila says, turning to look at Rúben, the plate covering her chest.

"You should put on a t-shirt on or something."

"Why?" she laughs, going back to her cooking. "We are alone, this is a private villa. And besides, you always walk around just on your boxers. Why can't I do the same? Why are your boobs allowed to be seen and mine not?"

"Because yours are way more interesting to look at than mine, and they can cause an accident."

"I have to disagree with that. People online go crazy when you show them. They call you Booben for a reason."

"They do what?" Rúben laughs.

"You didn't know?" Mila says, putting the plate with his breakfast in front of him. Even on holidays, he still eats the same.

"I did not."

"Well, now you do. What do you fancy as a drink? Juice or water?"

"I..."

"Rúben... Hey" she says, clicking her fingers in front of his face. "My eyes aren't there."

"I told you your boobs were more interesting to look at than mine" he smirks.

"You should be used to them by now."

"I don't think that'll be possible. Ever."

"This is going to be my outfit this summer, so..." she says, picking up a couple of water bottles and her breakfast and sitting next to him.

"I'll have to try, then" he sighs.

"Good. If you show your boobs, I show mine too."

"Seems fair" Rúben laughs. "But even if I try my hardest, seeing you like this may have its consequences."

"Consequences?"

"I may not be able to keep my hands from you for too long. Especially if you start moving your hips the way you were a minute ago."

"Who? Me?" Mila says, taking a bite and trying to hide a smile. By now she knows perfectly well how much Rúben likes her hips and her butt. If she wants him to do something, she knows exactly how to motivate him.

"Yes, you. So stop teasing me" he says, threatening her with his fork.

"Ok. I'll tell my inner Shakira to chill."

"Good. But she can come back after breakfast if she wants."

And she did. She came back after breakfast, and a few more times through the day.

Ryuji Goda

Decent at texting but his reply times are terrible. He often just forgets to check his phone. Even if he sees the notification, he's the type of person to think "Oh I'll reply to them soon" and forget because he feels in his brain as if he did already reply by just thinking about it. Sends lots of pictures of clothes, jewelry, and the like and asks what your opinions are on them. He knows what emojis are but can never decipher what emotion they are actually trying to convey. Absolutely not up to date on texting slang and tends to type pretty formally.

Nishikiyama Akira

Probably the fastest texter of all the characters and the quickest to reply. He's usually good at being up to date on more modern things, at least better than Kiryu is. Flirtatious texter and most likely to send "You up?" texts. Totally loves sending you selfies when he's really feeling himself. Also sends pictures of really good views he finds, like from a rooftop in Kamurocho with a great view of the city lights.

Nishiki: Hey, check out the view from this restaurant.

You: Oh wow, very pretty.

Nishiki: It would be even prettier if you were here (｡•̀ᴗ-)✧

You: Nishiki!

Daigo Dojima

Primarily uses his phone for work so he's pretty quick to check notifications or respond to messages. Prefers phone calls as he can hear your voice and it makes for a nice break from all the other mundane calls or important emails at work. Rarely if ever sends pictures via text and selfies make him camera shy but if you're very close to him, you could totally twist his arm into participating. Surprisingly has a decent grasp on emojis.

You: How're you doing?

Daigo: Tired. Long meeting. ╥﹏╥

You: I believe in you! I'll treat you to dinner afterwards so do your best.

Mine Yoshitaka

The worst texter. He's super dry in his responses, never uses emojis, and is very good at forgetting to check his texts. He mostly uses his cell phone for work so when he isn't work, he has notifications silenced. However, if you're very important to him, he will enable the buzzer on his phone so you can get through to him. In contrast, he's the best at taking pictures of you using a cell phone. Never has his phone out during meals as he doesn't want to be rude. Would prefer to video chat the most as it's the next best thing to actually seeing you.

Mine: Sorry, I was working out.

You: It's okay, you can make it up to me by sending me a post-workout selfie. ٩(◕‿◕)۶

It's been a while since I had some headcanons here, but also planning posts works against my favor so heres stream of consciousness, I'll accept questions

First of all, here are random headcanons I can't fully elaborate on, but have been in my mind and making me giggle for the past five years:

Josef being a bounty hunter. He's noted by Eli that he was one of the best, but Eli is a fucken wizard, no bounty hunter has gotten close without having some Epic Wizard Skills, and Josef doesn't have that. (I can elaborate this a bit, a friend ended up emailing Rachel Aaron and asked about how they met, she said Josef just never gave up and kept tracking him down. Which was the conclusion I had come to, glad to say that's canon.) HOWEVER I have several personal ideas I've yet to fully make into content or anything and most of them involve the notion that Eli was enamored with the big blond man.

Like Josef would catch up and find him, probably figured out the "put yourself between something Eli wants and he'll come right to you like a crow to coin" strategy. But then never once figured out trying to hire a wizard or use any other trick to capture him- inspite of Eli telling him too. (Another case to this, Josef says to Eli in the third book, that the smartest strategy to get Eli's bounty is to straight kill him. He's thought about it and it's true, Eli's price tag is the same dead or alive. BUT it's the first time Eli has heard this from Josef specifically based on his reaction. So I think it's safe to say Josef, for all his skill, never planned on actually turning Eli in, and their cat and mouse was as much a game to him as it was to Eli. Which is gay as fuck.

I will now present my ideas tied to this set up:

The time Eli got Joesf arrested

Eli locking Josef in a closet

Josef once threw Eli into a river, Eli got away and that's Josef side of the encounter. Eli's side he caught a cold from being wet and had to put off his next heist because of the sniffles.

Personal favorite idea rn is the trope of someone entering a dark room and someone in the room waiting for them turns on the light

Eli, entering his rented room in an inn a town over from his last job, Josef, bounty hunter, waiting in a chair in the corner, lighting a lamp

Josef: fun night?

Eli: you know I don't normally take guests this late at night, perhaps you should ring again tomorrow

Josef: why, I'm here now

Eli, annoyed: yeah, why, you're here now

And obvious one: Eli and Josef, first meeting

Eli: I didn't catch your name

Josef: I didn't throw it

Finally I don't know if I like it to be companions preNico, or still thief and hunter, but personal favorite I and I think my cowriter came up with which is just a classic fanfic premise: Night at the Opera. Fancy dress, things to steal, important fancy people. It's the first time Josef sees Eli with his wig and he hates it. Eli gets to have opera glasses.

My biggest pre Nico headcanon is Eli earned himself a huge crush on Josef when they became friends, and it was reciprocated, but with Benehime being extremely possessive and volatile, he shut it down when they became partners. And then repressed all attraction so it wouldn't interfere with his friendship and work. Josef figured hey he wasn't interested and moved on, met Nico, all was happy. Post Benehime tho when he's no longer on eggshells his crush came back and oh no know it's on two people. And that's my happy headcanon that Nico and her boys are all happy and they are dating each other.

Memes to break up the texts, I'm sure y'all can figure.

Side note, I was going through an old ass Eli Monpress themed playlist I made (complete with master doc full of notes on each song) and I got a banger that I could make one of those 'each lyric is a word on a page' music videos-except for one word. Over the course of the series there are two instances in which Miranda/Eli are trapped in a literal Oubliette (the dungeon with the only way in being a trap door in the ceiling- book two and five) and the word Oubliette isn't used. What do I do for that word in the video??? Draw the scene on a notepad with my Crayola's?? It'd be a banger ass video the song fits so beautifully I can make it presentation on it

My last stream of thought for this post since it's getting long and chaotic:

Book one Nico is described as wearing a "broad brimmed hat" instead of a hood, and it's never described as to what kind. So this is one that came to mind when I first read. But I gift you the mind's eye visual of alternatives

And I've just come to imagine Josef, Eli, and Nico in a haberdashery, trying on hats with their newest comrade.
