I am currently working on something HOT for the community! As in something you'll be able to use on tumblr, in discord, on telegram etc !

I was thinking of selling the bundle on my Ko-Fi at first but then everyone would just save and use them from those who would've spent money.

SO. It will be free! Ill only charge a little fee for extra characters (I currently have 7) as it will be extra time for research if I dont know that particular one and to try drawing them correctly.

I'll even accept OCs and characters from other games/movies/etc for a small fee.

And by small fee I mean 5$ or less. Still thinking about it. Once I reveal the project (Just need to colour the bois!), Ill add the commission info for other characters on my Ko-Fi page!

So considering all this and the time Im putting into it, it would make me very happy if some of you would consider tipping me/become a member and sharing my Ko-Fi (and this post) within the community!

So I have a little under 80 days as of this writing to make about $8,000.00 - $10,000 USD

I have been struggling without work. Unpayed bills from the past few months have piled up. I've lost so much already, and I'm at risk of losing even more. On top of that, I need to move halfway across the country by the end of October, since the family I'm staying with is moving out of the country. I can't really follow them with my financial situation.

This escalation happened about a week after I had finally reached a point where I'm able to complete commissions and take in new ones. So now I have additional plans and schedules and stuff that need to be done... Additional money needs to be made, and fast, before I can settle into a more sensible work flow.

So... I'm doing everything. EVERYTHING! Whatever I can do! It's crunch time x1000!

Dev Diaries

March 5th, 2024

So. We're 3 months into the new year. Huh.

Updates from me? I started a new job! I've been reading/catching up on a toooooon of manga lately (I'm also sloooooowly making my way through a nonfiction read and can't help thinking how Corey would heavily sympathize with me. Sigh.)

I also got another free month of Spotify (lol, I think I'm the only person I know who only uses the free plan because I'd rather spend that money elsewhere??) so I've been on a listening spree and flagging songs for a writing playlist I will use for the majority of the HSDJY 2 drafting process moving forward.

I still have yet to play BG3. My family gifted me the physical edition, so I've been impatiently waiting for it to ship out. It's been 84 years JFJEHFJHJF!!

Hmmm...nothing else interesting has happened to me (that I can publicly share ☠️) so on with the game development updates!!!!!

Ko-fi first!!

It’s only been a few months (since November??) but I’m super proud of my posting consistency! Granted, I’m a little anxious about how posts will look moving forward once I start moving major updates and general silliness to Tumblr. But. We shall cross the bridge when it appears.

March snuck up on me and I only have the free and any-paid-support ready, but the subbies are just There™️. That being said...when I'm quiet or posting non-Hummingbird content here, there's 99.9% chance I've made a free post on ko-fi.

Tumblr is looking like the other social media platforms right now with its flagrant support of AI, and it gives me a headache trying to decide how to keep everyone informed as well as share posts from my peers and new kids on the block. Anyhoo!!!

High School Daze goodies??

At the time of this post, a couple things have been happening that I haven't had the time (or the energy) to talk about. The obvious? HIGH SCHOOl DAZE: JUNIOR 2 HAS AN ITCH.IO PAGE!! I...have no idea when the full game will be out. I have an idea...but I don't want to say it and feel obligated to make that deadline just so I don't disappoint players. (I'm well aware that some people took one look at Crushed, went "Aww, that's nice, Gemini. Now where's HSD??" 🤣)

The first round of sprites have been commissioned!! If you peeped the key art (also done by my sprite artist, heehee she's lovely) you might notice some new outfits, some new hairdos. Fingers crossed I'll be able to update the page--to mirror the debut game's page--at the same time the new demo goes live (which will showcase all of or at least 75% of the common route of the full game. Stay tuned to find out if we'll focus on the friendship route or if I can defeat the Coding Monster to include all the variations for the romances too aha).

Writing wise? Five of the six total routes are outlined. (Florence's I've…barely started 🥲…this pre-production thing is kicking my ass). I’ve started drafting out the friendship route too, as seen by the random posts I’ve made about HSDJY 2. Well, a combination of friendship route + the common route with its lovely variations that aren’t a nuisance at all. Nope. *eye twitch*

I alsooooooo discovered that all the raw and edited music I created for HSD and for personal projects over the years using GarageBand were deleted. And I never backed them up. So. The tracks I made, the jingle for the splash screen, the main theme and it's 2 variations, and alllllll the little cute things I made that are as old as my own high school days are....gone.

If I sound very calm about this, what an astute observation! But my anxiety is being used elsewhere, and I decided that I while I can't go back to the original files to tweak them, I've backed up the other files. And I don't mind starting from scratch with this.

But also y'all, please back up your shit. Please. Don't be caught slipping.

That poll I made a while back that now has results and I totally didn't forget about?? The boys won!! And I'm not surprised 🤣 I haven't decided yet if I'll do a live developer stream or a prerecorded one, but either way it'll happen closer to October, the 2nd anniversary date.

I assumed a lot of things about what would be done or not done by March, and that led me to loosely block out March as a 'rest' month. I wouldn't work on any projects, and instead would read, play console and computer games, and basically take the break I didn't take in December.

Well. The Knight Dance is still in production. And I commissioned sprites earlier than expected. And I didn't plan enough ko-fi content to be scheduled in my absence. LOL and I started a new job!? 🥹

But!!! But but but, I do need to take some type of break so I'll do my best to be scarce in this space (and lower the temptation to work because I see y'all are working LOL). Cool? Cool!

Hello I have way too many finances and don't know what to do with them

Well well well, how convenient. I started a kofi page a long time ago as a joke with some of my friends and now I don't know what to do with it. You will not get anything for burning your cash, I am the sole benefactor here. Why anyone would ever even as much as think about giving me money for quite literally doing nothing is beyond me, but the option is there.

Help me get through college

So some confusion happened with financial aid and housing and all that this year. As a result, my family has already paid and will have to pay quite a bit of money to keep me in school at an on campus apartment for this school year. I do have financial aid, so I’m not like completely helpless here, but it’s still a lot to ask my parents to pay for so much right now. Tuition and groceries. And I have a sister whose health has been pretty expensive, my family would like to help her go to college and have a car of her own this January. I can get a job on campus but it would be part time, $11.50 an hour. I can’t help pay for college very well on that, it’s probably only enough for groceries.

And it won’t be much that I can from you either, but I have so many fabric scraps and I can sew. So anyone who wants a fun bag to carry dice in, or anything else you might need a drawstring bag for, please please help me out here! Some of these bags are one of a kind, I only had enough scraps of the particular fabric to make one bag. Others I can make multiple of, even in different sizes. The sheer fabrics make fun bags but they’re a downright pain to work with because I don’t have a machine, I’m hand stitching all of these. Right now I’m not having any trouble with materials, but at some point I’m going to need to buy more thread I bet.

They’re hand stitched, some are one of a kind, I can make different sizes. They’re not the highest quality bags and the sizing is gonna be inconsistent, because I’m an amateur seamstress working with limited tools and limited material. But they’re unique and handmade and you can put dice in them. Or other stuff, a bag is a bag.

So for pricing let’s say $5 for a small bag, $7 for a regular sized bag, and $10 for a big bag. Here's what that looks like

A translucent white bag with an embroidered leaf pattern, 6x4 inches. (Plenty more of that fabric) and a small bag made of a silver ruffled fabric, 4x3 inches. (I do have more of that but not much)

Here’s some other bags I’ve completed

Pictured here: bags of varying sizes, mostly regular with one slightly wider and one very narrow. Pink ruffled bag, 5x4 inches, only one I have, there wasn’t enough scrap for more. Bright yellow bag, nice smooth fabric, 5x4 inches, I can make a few more out of that. Navy blue bag, very smooth stretchy material, 5x6 inches, I have a little extra of that fabric. Dark blue bag, basic cotton knit, 4.5x4 inches, I do not have any more of that fabric but I do have the same type of fabric in a slightly brighter blue that I can make a couple bags out of. Pink camp bag with some floral print in the camo, cotton knit, 6x5 inches, I have a little extra of that fabric. Tropical flower print, a thin woven fabric, soft, dark blue with light green leaves and bright red flowers, 3x6 inches, very skinny lol. I only have a little extra of that.

And I have so many other fabrics too, some I only have enough for one small bag, other’s I could easily make a few large bags out of. Here is my fabric scrap collection

Oh boy that’s a lot of fabric! I don’t know if I can accurately describe all of that here, so I'll just mention a few specific ones and provide a few close up pictures.

I can’t describe very fabric in detail so I’ll just point out a few I think are particularly nice, which I also have enough of to make multiple bags. I have a lot of this dark green fabric with tiny dark purple squares on it. I’ve got that denim with the funky geometric pattern. Colorful polka dot fabric in white or pastel green! Sage green sheer fabric with iridescent sparkles, and a light blue fabric with a glittery swirling pattern. Black fabric with a dark grey cross hatching pattern. Mottled looking black and grey fabric made of a very rough weave, it’s soft and almost looks like dull chainmail. Light purple fabric with sparkly silver stripes. Tan fabric with stripes of white lace. Stretchy white fabric with streaks of bright blue. White fabric with embroidered pink and purple flowers. Stretchy white fabric with a ribbed texture. And I wish I had so much more of this, but I do have a dark blue stretchy fabric with a diamond pattern made of cutout holes. They’re too small to let your dice fall out and it’s a really cool fabric.

So message me if you want one! You can pick one I’ve already made, or ask for one in a specific size and pick the fabric you want! Keep in mind that once I run out of something it’s just gone! Some of these scraps have been sitting in my mom's scrap bag for literally years. She doesn’t even know where it all came from or what it’s been used for.

It’s a long post so let me say it again. Small bags are $5! Regular sized bags are $7! Large bags are $10! The sizing is inconsistent because I am an imperfect human being with limited tools and materials. So for general size, small means it can only hold one set of dice, regular means it can hold a few sets, and large means it can hold several sets.
