Thorins company with a reader who doesn’t fall asleep easily. Like they will lay awake for hours- also I love how you use gifs(●´ω｀●)

Hi Hi Hi Hi! Thank you for the request!!💖 So this one will be short little sentences, but that's because you gave me an idea for a longer sleeping scenario!!!! So, thank you for inspiring me!! 🤩👍 I'll be working on that longer one later this week!

Balin - Balin would gently remind you of the importance of sleep. He would then offer to brush your hair before bed. His fingers, running through your hair, released all your tension. The rhythmic motion, gentle touch, and soft voice would make your eyelids grow heavy. Sleep would come soon after, and Balin would smile, knowing he was able to help. 

Dwalin - Dwalin offered you his cloak, saying it was warmer than the tattered blanket you had. He would drape it over you and quietly watch over you. He wouldn't rest until he knew you were asleep. Once you were, he would gently brush the hair out of your face before going to bed himself.

Óin - Oin instantly started preparing remedies, herbal teas, and other unique blends to help you get to sleep. He would hand them to you with a big smile, saying they would help drift you off to dreamland. He would laugh when you tasted them and grimaced, saying,  "It's not supposed to taste good. It's supposed to work."

Glóin - Gloin would open up to you. He knows how difficult it is to sleep when your family isn't close. He feels the same way. So he would tell you stories about his family, his life back home, and his dreams. It was comforting to know others felt the same way. As you drifted off to sleep, you felt you were getting to know the company better.

Bifur - Bifur noticed you hadn't slept well for a while. So, one night, he would give you a carved wooden charm to hold onto. He would say it promotes good sleep and advises you to keep it on you when it's bedtime. He'd then pull out his matching charm and smile as if saying, "Seems we both have a hard time sleeping."

Bofur - Bofur would stay up with you each night, telling bedtime stories and other crazy tales. He would love to come up with these stories, each one wilder than the last. Seeing you look at him in awe, perched on the edge of your seat and eagerly awaiting the next sentence, would bring him sheer joy.

Bombur - Bombur is such a sweetheart. He'd go out of his way to make you a warm drink before bed. Bombur would carefully select the perfect ingredients that could help you feel cozy, comfortable, and ready to relax. He would bring it to you with a warm smile and offer to sit with you while you enjoyed it. Hopefully, it helped you relax enough for bed.

Ori - Ori would snuggle up next to you and read you his favorite book. He would read each character in a different voice, bringing the characters to life. It would be incredibly relaxing, and he might even draw out scenes from the book as a special treat. 

Dori - Dori would make a fuss. He would get all the pillows and blankets to ensure you are comfortable. He’d arrange everything so they are just right and would even place you in the best spot next to the fire. With a satisfied smile, he'd say, "There you go, all set for a cozy night."

Nori - Being out on the road a lot, Nori has learned a lot of tips and tricks to help get to sleep easier. He knows the best position to sleep on the ground, knows how to keep warm, and highly suggests listening to the fire crackle to help calm down. "Honestly, the best night's sleep is after some 'activities,' if you catch my drift," he says with a wink.

Thorin - He doesn’t try to make a fuss like others. He's the type to keep his feelings to himself, preferring actions over words. Thorin seats himself close to you and hums a dwarven lullaby. It helps him fall asleep, so he does it for you. You want to stay up and listen, but the soothing melody has you asleep within seconds.

Side note: I know this isn't a gif of him singing but I thought it was perfect

Fíli -  Fili would be a little concerned, noticing you were more tired during the day. So the next time it was time to rest, he would move his bed mat next to yours. "Y/N, Let me help you get some proper rest tonight. You look exhausted," he would say with a smile. He would wrap his arm over you, pulling you into him. The warmth and the rhythm of his breathing would lull you to sleep.

Kíli - Kili noticed you tossing and turning all night, focusing too much on trying to fall asleep. Knowing that overthinking it would only keep you more awake, he would try to distract you. With a playful wink, Kili would turn it into a playful competition, saying, "The first one to count the most stars wins." As the game would begin, he'd hold your hand, feeling it gradually go limp as you drifted off to sleep. He'd smile, knowing his little game had worked.

Bilbo - Bilbo understands that nothing beats a good night's sleep in your own bed, especially when the journey is far from comfortable. Sensing your lack of sleep and need for comfort, he might offer you his favorite blanket or another comfort item from home, like a book. After giving you the book, he settles beside you and rambles about Hobbiton and the Shire. His gentle mumbles would act like ASMR, putting you right to sleep before you even have the chance to open the book.

Gandalf - Like Bilbo, Gandalf's voice could easily put you to sleep. He'd keep his voice above a whisper, offering you some Old Toby to help you mellow out. Between Gandalf's calming voice and the pipeweed, you would be out.

we're almost to the halfway mark, so i thought i'd share another progress update on this little (big) project!! (previous update)

i've almost finished drawing half of all the assets (according to my spreadsheet) and then we can start assembling them into a "book." the bulk of the assets are characters/costumes, but i've also completed several props and started working on some backgrounds as well. I need to decide how the book will be laid out before i make much more progress on those, though. i've been trying to hold off on finishing the principal cast because i think saving them for ~dessert~ will keep me motivated to power through the rest, but i'm so anxious to get to them because i want to play with them in photoshop and put them on their associated backgrounds like little paper dolls 🙈 so that's why ballet tuxedo!dmitry doesn't exist yet, and why i've yet to color the rest of anya's act ii wardrobe.

anyway. progress in my workflow is hardly ever linear, but you can kind of see how i approach the rendering process from these images, i hope. the drawing carries the weight of the image so that step always takes the longest, since getting the likeness, the proportions, the folds, and the expressions right is the most important. if any of that looks off no skillful painting or rendering can save it.

and then i always color skin first because everything else (clothes, hair) goes on top of skin. you can see the color palette i'm using is the same for almost all of them, though act ii requires a few more saturated hues than act i (bright blue, some reds, and green every once in a while). coloring the rest in doesn't usually take very long. once the flats are down i go in for a final pass, laying down those patterns and textures that always give me a hard time lol. and then i clean up and recolor the line work and mark it as done! since i'm working digital i use alpha lock and clipping masks for that.

anya's act ii lineup. her phtk outfit is the only one i've marked complete (the linework on the others is still black and need just a few more touchups). I've yet to lay in the flats for the maroon travel coat because i think the drawing needs more work. i might change a few things on big red, maybe her expression, but i haven't decided yet.

dmitry's act ii lineup (sans tuxedo). he just needs a final pass on the first two on the left, and then his finale look is finished, because it's the same from act i :)

vlad's act ii lineup. he's almost done, just needs a final pass on the finale and phtk outfits.

lily's act ii lineup. i'm going to redo the pattern on her neva club dress (linda cho i love u but god) but otherwise she's all finished.

the dowager's act ii lineup. she's done! :) maybe i'll find something to pick at later but rn i'm marking her done lol.

petersburg citizens from rumor! i think these guys are all done. there are more people i could include, but there isn't enough variation on the costumes to make it worth it imo.

neva club patrons. the only two marked complete are the two on the left, sergei the doorman/the male server and count leopold. i still need to find a good reference for the female server lol.

the press! just the men for now lol. i used the obc program as a reference for this one, so i'll get the two ladies in soon :)

the hussies! i've marked it complete, but. we'll see if there's more adjustments i can make.

there's still more i've completed that's not pictured, but i'll definitely share more soon. act i is nearly finished entirely, which is cool, and the only big ensemble sheet i've yet to make much progress on is everyone in phtk. i may end up just drawing one or two people from that and then copying them with different patterns because, honestly, the shape of the dresses and suits are all very similar. hopefully that won't be boring to look at lol.

AND NOW.... FOR A SPECIAL 3RD ANNIVERSARY UPDATE. (6/1/2024)

Hello friends, hello mutuals, hello dimension dyfenders fans and hello people who like indie cartoon/comic stuff in general! Comet here. Once Again. and this time i've got something ig this year. This was supposed to release on May 29th, but due to Ren not coming back for a long time because they needed to prioritize irl stuff, of course, we had to delay it.

But, but, BUT! thankfully I had a few things ready after all, however as for some other things else, we'll get to it much later, when the moment calls. Now, let's get off with the first one.

You Kinda... Look Different.

You may have noticed that Dislexo looks a bit different than usual (darker skin, a bit of shorter hair, etc.), in case you're wondering why... Yeah, you're about to find out.

So, while I was thinking and drawing up some D.D related stuff, I was brainstorming a little by my lonesome. All of the sudden, as I was making a new render for a character, I was like... "Wait a minute... What if I give Dislexo a new look which is a mix between a secretary and a butler but keep it's elements from what made their design unique?" and So, the new and improved Dislexo was born!

Honestly i'm proud of what they look like now. I just hope i won't (or will) get to redesign ALL of the cast again so suddenly lol! Anyways, thats just a small change I made, nothing too big. Now, let's get on something else... which is...

Pocket Adventures' current status + how's minisode 1 coming along

You might be asking inside your minds, "i wonder when more of minisode 1 will drop", "where are the new parts?"- Well, i got the answer. It'll only come only when im completely finished. However i havent been working much on it aside from making a few pages a few months ago, but hopefully this summer i may get back to it and finish it all up if i can. The final script is 73% percent complete, as for the comic itself, let's just say its 58%. I promise you i'm taking my time with delivering everything i can for this minisode. However i might republish the minisode with the series' current artstyle if it ever comes out physically (or either when I'll have the time or energy to do it.) So, now, you may be wondering: "But Comet, what do we do while we wait." Well you're not gonna believe this.

No, it's not an extremely late april fools post! We got new stuff coming soon, recently i've been brainstorming some ideas for brand new content, and you know what? It came to me, HERE'S WHAT'S COMING!

MORE TOONIES COMING YOUR WAY!

THAT'S RIGHT, after months of hiatus, Toonies is coming back with more strips! This time, since summer's coming around, i'll try to post and make more of them and even schedule the finished ones! We got even more covers for it coming, but for now, here's one of them!

More comics are not only gonna explore more of the Dyfenders' and the Dajo Crew's everyday lives in-and-out of their superhero/Villain occupations, we are also going to focus on much more on other characters (at least some of them), and some will last for a few more pages longer! No arcs though, sorry. But hey, you're getting more wackiness as a treat! Now, i know i said this year is not gonna be big like the other two years we had, but...

NEW SPECIAL CURRENTLY IN DEVELOPMENT!

THAT'S RIGHT! We're working on a new special to commemorate our three years! Thought it'd be a nice adiction to this year, we may not reveal the logo and it's title yet, but we can tell you what the sypnosis is about!

You're all invited to the biggest night in the Omniverse, right across it's stars, cosmos, galaxies and portals! Both the Dimension Dyfenders and the Dajo-Crew are crossing the red (or should we say, blue) carpet in this brand new 3-part special! Prince Dajo-Voo has a new plan on how to take over the gala, all while he tries to self-control himself from doing the same explosive incident he did back then. The Dyfenders may be having a great time at the gala, but rest assured, they'll be sure to keep a close eye on him. Here's to a Rift-errific and (hopefully) trouble-free gala!

As a bonus, when the production on all three parts are done, we'll be posting Toonies comics related to the special, which may feature a new character who will debut later on in Pocket Adventures! We don't know when it'll exactly be out, my guesses would be either summer, september or next May 2025. But rest assured, we'll be working on it, but we won't rush it out.

So... What's next?

Honestly, i can't really tell. But I can assure you i still have so may plans for this series, plans that will be put in action in the far-off future. What i really hope to do is to make animated shorts as well, not just Toonies strips, pocket adventures minisodes and comic dubs of it. Maybe if we'll ever make a backerkit or a kickstarter for it and get a budget, it might happen (along with more VAs joining in.) Speaking of VAs, in case you're a VA and you haven't auditioned yet, anytime is the right time! (this is still a test leap, but if it succeeds it may go further.)

but for now, we're sticking to comics, and then, if possible we'll get to comic dubs and so on.

HYPERSOMNIA JUNE DEV LOG : “FASHIONABLY LATE”

Hi! I already wrote this entire dev log but I closed the tab by accident, so it's now 10:55pm and I'm going to try and speedrun writing something that took me an hour to write.

For all of you who follow HYPERSOMNIA, you should already know what the gist is here I've been saying this for 6 months.

if you don't know what this is or are confused on what HYPERSOMNIA is read the other dev logs i've said this like every time lol

So, just as a heads up this log isn't going to be super long with new content because I have been insanely busy these last few months! I just graduated High School and the last few months have been me cramming to make sure I pass and could graduate and now I am!!! Yay!!!

I won 2 awards at my grad (One of them being excellence in arts :D) and the other I was given a check for 200$ so I snagged one of these!

Super happy I finally got a display tablet for drawing, I've wanted one of these since I was like 14 and it feels awesome to have one now. I got this thing super cheap too, this thing usually goes for like 300-350 Canadian and I got it for 130! Super super happy about this.

That's all from me personally, but I would like to say just as 1 last thing before the updates, Happy Pride Month to all who identify as LGBTQ+, I myself am queer and just want to remind all of you that you are loved and accepted. Hopefully I can get this out before midnight so it's still pride month LOL

OK! NOW FOR UPDATES! I don't have too much to share today but I do have somethings I want to show off.

First things first, I've been respriting some characters! Ross and Jack are the biggest edits I've made so far so I'd like to show them off.

Ross' walking sprites were updated! I was kind of dissatisfied with how Ross looks like he's struttin' everywhere so I redid it to give him a more casual walk. I'm very happy with this change and I plan for it to be the base walking animation going forward. I also updated his side profiles slightly to look closer to the key art I illustrated.

Jack also had his idles redone! He I think was the biggest thing I needed to resprite, his old sprite is kind of cluttered and poorly detailed so for his new one I simplified a lot of the shading and reshaped his hair and mask. I think it came out really well.

Also, just earlier I was working on music for the game.

I'm really happy with how this came out, I just got high and made Half-Life music (Which is what I was aiming for LOL)

Hopefully I can get to a point where I can finish off the soundtrack for the demo and post it all. Some friends of mine were a bit sad I delisted the tracks I had up initially so I hope to get those up again soon.

I've also been storyboarding out some early game cutscenes, I can't show a lot because it's all a bit spoiler-y but I will put this in the log.

And one last thing too, THE MOTHER DIRECT!

on July 27 at 6PM ET, MOTHER FOREVER will be hosting the MOTHER Direct, which HYPERSOMNIA is a part of!

dev log - dec 30, 2023

here's an excerpt from chapter one, an interaction between the MC and Vera. AUGHHH you guys i'm actually so excited about chapter one. i've gotten to the point where Vera's introduction is almost over. know what that means?!

we get to meet all the other ROs!!! along with Vera!!! YAHOO!

i'm mostly done writing for the night, but i do think that i got a good bit of work done. we're sitting at about 15k words now. with the fact that i'm back in school soon for my winter semester (shivers), i am really going to try and complete a sizeable portion of chapter one before i'm off. genuinely, i am having SO much fun writing Vanguard, and i'd really hate to get burnt out by school. JAYE STOP TALKING ABOUT SCHOOL SHUTUPSHUTIPTHSU

anyways!! i'll also be working on getting physical descriptions of the ROs in their profiles. i got Emilio and Vera done, but my attention span is so minuscule that i apparently found something better to do instead of finishing the rest of the characters' descriptions. whatever. as it goes for the workings of my brain.

my next dev log will (hopefully) be before school starts again, and i'm aiming to have the Vanguard's profile in game be updated to show the MC's traits and more of chapter one done. i'm so excited to introduce my other characters, i really really am. for the character profiles, i should hopefully have those fully completed soon, besides the reworked portraits i will eventually draw.

i'll still try to post at least weekly!! like at the very least. uni can't get THAT bad (yes it can)(let me live in my delusions for a bit before i get sad). i'll still be posting drawings, yapping, etc etc. speaking of asks...PLEASE ask about my characters. again, i am so very not normal about all of them. if it's about an RO, or lore, i'd be happy to answer. anything that's on your mind!

Finally decided to send in a request for the black sheep event! My request contains, Draconia!Name and Riddle sharing the same desk for separate classes (ex. Draconia!Name first period, Riddle second) ,, with - Draconia!Name writing letters and leaving it at the shared desk for Riddle to pick up? masterlist characters: riddle genre: fluff contains: not a whole lot of draconia!(name)? idk i just really liked the idea :), riddle pov summary: when a note left behind after a class turns into something more. notes: i had a lot of fun writing this :DD event: [black sheep expansion pack]

it all started with a simple note. one most likely left behind in a rush. riddle, in hindsight, was quite glad he found it. he would leave it behind with two other notes accompanying it.

one was a simple "do not touch unless first period", a warning to the rest of the students who sat in that seat.

the second was a correction to the initial note, correcting a certain aspect of the subject the writer had gotten wrong in theirs. riddle was satisfied with himself, especially if the recipient was to be a member of heartslabyul.

much to his surprise, it wasn't.

the next day, another note was left behind.

thank you! i passed my quiz because of you!

riddle didn't know what compelled him to answer this new note. normally, he would just nod in satisfaction at the thought of helping someone better their knowledge on his best subject, but that wasn't the case this time. something told him, urged him, to write back.

no need for thanks, was all he wrote, but it seemed to suffice. the next day, he was met with another note. and then he responded again. and then another note was left. and he responded again. and again. and again, and again, and again.

so that's how he ended up where he was now, continuing to exchange notes with a certain person that sat in his same seat just a single period before him.

how was your day, riddle?

the same as it always is. should he change how he writes? cater seemed to agree when he told the two third years about his new "friend".

that's good! i'm glad to hear it :} they always scribbled a cute smile beside their message, little fangs poking out from the mouth of their drawing. when is your next unbirthday party? i'd love to help one day!

"how sweet," riddle hummed to himself at the latest note. without another thought, he turned to his binder of papers and began flipping through them, letting out a soft "a-ha!" when he pulls out one of the many schedules he had laid out for his dorm.

the next one should be in the next three days. or, rather, two if you receive this invitation during your first period, was what he had written, quietly admonishing himself under his breath.

"is this too formal? should i rewrite it...?" before he could stick to a decision, his teacher ushered him and the other students out of the room, huffing on about the next period he was about to tend to.

oh well, riddle simply sighed, tucking his binder under his arm.

so the next unbirthday party is in two days, right? i'll try to make it! hopefully dorm leader draconia won't mind... i can't wait to see you in person!

riddle stifled a laugh, scooping the little note into his hands and tucking it away into his notebook.

i look forward to having you over, was what riddle left behind on the desk, a little heart scribbled in the corner only to be hurriedly erased a few moments later.

it's tomorrow~ dorm leader draconia said i was able to go, can you believe it? i'll see you soon riddle <3, riddle nearly choked on his own spit as his eyes scanned over the heart. and yes, i saw the little heart you wrote on the last note. don't be afraid to keep it there next time, okay?

"hnmg..." riddle let out a sound that he didn't even know he was capable of making.

i'm glad to hear that, was all riddle managed to write, his hand shaking as he wrote the last word. he felt his heart pound in his chest as his eyes continued to dart between his notes and the special note from his friend. yes, his “friend”. just his friend.

(of course, he only tried to convince himself of this because of the lingering influence ms. rosehearts his mother had on him.)

regardless, he could not wait for the day to finally end.

"you're restless," trey hummed in amusement, glancing over at riddle. "something's on your mind, huh?"

"don't even start, trey," riddle grumbled, earning a laugh from his vice dorm leader. and although riddle's words were sharp and snippy, he knew trey wasn't wrong.

"all hail our leader, the red sovereign himself... housewarden riddle!"

"we salute you, housewarden riddle!" despite his dorm members calling his name, riddle could only scan over the crowd in search of a not-so-familiar face.

see, he was familiar with all of his members and any guests that would be coming. all except the one he wanted to see. he knew their name and their dorm but not what they looked like.

and just when he thought they were not there, his eyes zeroed in on the one face he had never seen. a bright smile was plastered on their face and their horns were decorated with little red and white roses.

for the first time during the unbirthday party ritual's history (in riddle's era, at least), the dorm leader paused in his tracks. riddle couldn't help but stare in awe, finally matching a face with the little notes left behind on his desk. they offered a light grin, their little fangs barely peeking out from their lips.

"riddle?" trey suddenly called out, having paused a few steps in front of the redhead. despite the confused tone in his voice, the grin he shot at riddle was enough for the dorm leader to realize how much trey really knew.

"r-right..." riddle coughed into his fist, hurrying up to trey's side. the vice dorm leader merely chuckled before nodding, continuing to walk towards the table.

the ritual continued the way it always did, with riddle inspecting the decorations and embellishments and nodding in satisfaction as it was up to standard. when he announces the start of the tea party, he finds himself quickly ushering the unfamiliar face in the crowd towards him.

and as they hurry to his side, little red and white rose petals falling from their horns, riddle couldn't help but clutch the note in his pocket to ease the anxiety roaring in his heart.

This is what I meant when I said I am so proud of what this community has become, I’m so honored to be able to be apart of something that seeks to lift up and make others smile, while also gathering to support one another through hate.

Those Hateful anons haven’t come near me, and for that I am grateful, it makes me sad that they went after some of my friends however and I’m glad they seem to have stopped. Hopefully they will reflect on their actions and realize flaw in their own behavior.

I love story telling, writing and drawing. The fact I was able to Share Ninlil with you all and you all have been receptive and fell in love with her has made my heart full. I’m sorry I scared people with her almost death in the Last RP. I was not yet aware of the negativity being spread, otherwise I would’ve put a disclaimer stating her soon ascension. I have no plans to leave this platform anytime soon.

Yes you definitely may hear it! Buckle up! This is A VERY LONG, angsty ride, and a lot of it is canon compliant and will be sticking to Naruto themes so that things can remain in-character and hopefully makes you feel like you're watching the show, but I'll keep what we already know and saw short so I can get straight to the point:

-Every event that took place in Naruto, including Obito's descent to darkness, takes place - except that Rin lives and grows up, while Obito is just too far gone and no longer really cares for the world anymore and already has a broken mind.

-So while Obito is developing the Akatsuki, Rin is enhancing her powers as the Sanbi's Jinchuuriki, and Obito maintains his hidden identity as Tobi and Rin never figures out who he is until the start of the 4th Shinobi World War.

-Mask reveal happens, and Rin is horrified and shocked that the masked man this whole time, the one that was the catalyst to many of the destructive events, was the very best friend she thought she lost in Kannabi. So naturally, Rin would go through so many different emotions; horror, confusion, denial, joy and heartbreak all at the same time.

-She at first expresses how happy she is to see him, and then would say that there is no way that he'd do everything he did, and there has to be someone that made him. She'd then watch Kakashi and Obito interact and listen to the way Obito taunts him, and she couldn't believe the words she was hearing out of his mouth, words expressing that he didn't care for this world and had one goal, etc.

-She would then tearfully remind Obito that his one goal was to become the Hokage, but Obito would coldly tell her, "That boy is dead." Rin argues back, saying that he'd never die in her eyes, but Obito silences her by launching a large shuriken from his Kamui dimension (but he purposefully misses hitting her, which hints that he doesn't want to hurt her), just to show her that he "doesn't care" about her words.

-Of course, Naruto's yelling draws Kakashi and Rin's attention back to him and the war, then Madara shows up and Rin has to watch Obito standing with the enemy trying to control the Juubi. Rin is frozen in shock, to the point where even Isobu tries to shake her back to her senses in order to focus and to put her emotions on the side. Rin becomes more convinced that Madara had everything to do with this. As soon as Naruto, Gai, and Kakashi get injured by a few attacks, and Killer B is already growing tired of using Gyuuki, Rin snaps back to her senses and utilizes her Tailed Beast Mode, and rushes to heal them with Isobu's chakra.

-Madara taunts Obito by asking if he purposely forgot to extract her Tailed Beast because he still held love for her, to which Obito scoffs and says that Yagura's Tailed Beast (Isobu's other half) is more than enough. Of course, Madara doubts his words and has a plan of his own given that Obito is already doing as he pleases.

-Fast forward to the Alliance showing up, and Rin forces herself to see Obito as an imposter, not the person she knew, and no longer hesitates to throw her own attacks at him, much to his shock. He remains on the defensive, however, using his Kamui to make her attacks pass through. Rin angrily tells him that she already knows the trick to his jutsu thanks to Kakashi, and while this riles up Obito, he didn't have the time to react or respond since Kakashi shows up in an attempt to protect Rin.

-When Kakashi tries to teleport Juubi's head and sever it off with his Kamui, Obito steps in to stop him, but then Rin uses her tail to grab Kakashi away and gets sucked into the Kamui dimension first. Here, she exhausts her Tailed Beast Chakra and is back to her standard shinobi alliance uniform, which is quite tattered and torn up.

-He starts to talk to her about the day he found her with Kakashi's hand pierced right through her heart. He tells her all of the things he saw in this world. Rin listens intently as she remains cautious, but then as she looked into Obito's eyes, she could easily see how much turmoil he's been through. The scars on his face is a grim reminder that it is him, he's not an imposter.

-She tries to bargain with him again, telling him that she just wants to understand what happened to him. She wants to know why he's doing all of this, and if he knew that she was still alive, why didn't he allow her to be by his side all of this time?

-Obito starts to approach her and Rin tenses up, feeling vulnerable as she can no longer anticipate his next words and movements. He then stands close enough to her, then he wraps an arm around her waist and draws her to him, tightly pressing her against him while he lifts up her chin with his other hand to make her face him fully. He whispers to her softly, asking, "Do you hate me?" Rin shakily answers, "No...I can't hate you..." Obito then asks, "Are you afraid of me?" Rin would then respond, "I don't want to be." Obito would then respond, "You should be."

-He brushes his thumb over her pink lips, his eyes in a daze. He expresses how much he loved her, and what could've been if things were different. Rin swallows and says, "I know you're still in there. The Obito that I always knew. The Obito that I always stood by. The Obito whose dream was to become a Hokage." Tears start to slowly flow down her cheeks as she says, "Despite all of this, I still believe in you.."

-Obito tells her that he's right here, standing before her, and holding her closely like he always dreamed of doing for so long. But because he's a manipulative cunt (we're talking about black-haired bad boy Obito here), he guilts her by saying that if she really wants the old Obito back, he could make it happen. All she has to do is to be by his side like she always did before. He guilts her by saying that if she really loved and missed her old friend, she would stop at no end to bring him back.

!!!!! TW: Mental Issues !!!!

-Rin however, knows better. She pulls herself away from Obito and sternly tells him that he is not the Obito that she wants to stand by. She says, "The Obito that I want to watch over is the one who will become the Hokage!" And this shocks Obito to his core of course, and Rin then witnesses a sudden change in his movements. Obito starts hallucinating his old self, and the voice of his old self saying, "I will become a Hokage!" starts ringing all over.

-Obito grips at his head and screams for the voices to shut up. Rin immediately grows concerned for him and rushes to him, prying his hand off then holding his face so he could look at her, attempting to ground him. Obito stares at her for a little, and sees flashing images of Rin's younger self, then his younger self, hearing cheerful laughter and fragments of the things they used to say to each other, such as Rin saying, "I'm always watching you!". Then he sees an image of her face when Kakashi pierced her with his Chidori, and Madara's voice ringing, talking to him about the realities of the world.

-He starts hyperventilating, and then he pushes Rin off of him, shocking her as he tells her to get away. He focuses his Mangekyou so that he can teleport her out of the Kamui dimension, and he's once again alone. He spends some time to gather himself, and just as he does so, Kakashi shows up. Here, the talking and the battle between them in the Kamui dimension takes place.

-Fast forward to Obito being severely injured by Kakashi, and Madara extracting the chakra rods out of him. Then we get to hear his iconic raging scream when he tries to shake off Madara's manipulation, and Rin, who has finally recharged her Tailed Beast chakra, rushes towards him so she could stop the resurrection along with Naruto and Sasuke. She ends up watching Minato slash him before she could even reach.

-She couldn't register what happen, and the next thing she knew, Obito absorbs the Ten-Tails and becomes the Ten-Tail's Jinchuuriki. As she watches turn into the monstrosity that he is, all she could do is whisper, "Obito... what have you done..." And the whole battle between Obito and Naruto + Sasuke ensues and so does everything else in the show, while Rin turns her focus onto healing and buffing up the alliance since Juubito did a number on them.

-Rin eventually supports Naruto and the alliance who were empowered by Minato and Naruto's Nine-Tails chakra to extract the Ten-Tails from Obito. Here the whole talk-no-jutsu scene plays out xD and as Rin uses Isobu's powers and tails to pull Yagura's Isobu and merge it with her own, she becomes more determined to bring back the Obito she once knew.

-Obito collapses (and we now get our white-haired DILF into the scene), and while Sasuke rushes to kill him, with Naruto chasing after him, and Kakashi teleporting out of nowhere with the attempt to slash a kunai, Rin shoots a coral spike at Kakashi's kunai to stop him just as Minato rushes to hold back his arm, and summons a trail of coral spikes to block Sasuke's path.

-All attention is drawn on Rin, who stares at Obito with a serious and firm look as warm, silent tears stream down her eyes. Obito watches in anticipation as she approaches him, her chakra mode dissipating for a temporary moment, and she begins to speak. Rin says, "For the longest time, I felt like I existed so that I can take away people's pain, because I too, knew of the cruelty of this world. It's this world's cruelty that lead to you and I making a promise to one another."

- She then settles on her knees next to his paralyzed body, and caresses his scarred cheek with a sad smile on her face, reassuring him that no matter what and after everything that happened, she bears no hatred or resentment towards him, only that her she is heartbroken because he had to endure so much and she hates that she couldn't take away his pain.

-So, tears are shed and it becomes a very emotional moment, and Kakashi talks to Obito about Naruto's path of life, making Obito finally see that Naruto's way is the right way (again, we're complying with canon), and then just as he decides to use Rinne Tensei, Black Zetsu stops him - and that whole scene where Madara gets resurrected is played here.

-Fast forward to everyone trying to fight off a shirtless and insane Madara, and Obito struggles to remain conscious while shaking off Black Zetsu's manipulation. Rin steps in here to help Obito by using her Tailed Beast chakra to heal him and provide him some sense of movement since he's merely alive thanks to the husk of the 10-Tails sealed inside him.

-Obito gains consciousness and Black Zetsu escapes somewhere, but steals Obito's Rinnegan along the way, and this is where shit hits the fan: Madara is now fully powerful, but before he could even extract the husk of the 10-Tails, everyone attempts to fight him off, including Obito, who falls into a hand-to-hand combat with him and tries to use his Kamui as an advantage. Kakashi and Naruto try to fight as well, but because Madara is Madara, they all fail, and Madara chokes Obito and then sinisterly says that he's going to fully punish him for his betrayal.

-Madara extracts the husk at last, and throws Obito towards Kakashi, and now every Tailed Beast is in danger, including Rin and Naruto. The Tailed Beasts get chained up and sucked into the husk, and Rin, who knows all too well that Naruto's powers are essential for the war, fights against the chains transforming into Isobu and parrying away the chain that is after the Kyuubi.

-Unfortunately, Rin fails... as the chain fully wraps around Isobu's neck, including the Kyuubi. In her subconscious, Rin fights against the strong pull, but she knows she is losing her strength and that the worst is about to happen. As Isobu is drawing further and further away, she leaves her last words to her Bijuu: "Be free!"

-Isobu is extracted and sealed in the husk, along with all other Tailed Beast. We all know what this means! Naruto falls and is captured by Gaara's sand. Rin falls and hits the ground, snapping the attention of Obito and Kakashi towards her. Out of nowhere, Obito finds the strength to move and dash towards her, while Kakashi just stands in utter shock.

-Obito urgently and shakily holds Rin to him (like he did when he found her corpse), and asks her to stay with him and that he'll get help. His Sharingan registers that her heartbeat is slowing down, and he starts to panic and tremble, willing his mind to block out the feeling of dejavu that was about to consume him. Rin looks up at him, trying to remain conscious as she makes him promise that he'll save Naruto. He promises that he'll save him, and begs her to stay alive.

-Rin's breathing grows shallow as she utters more of her final words, and she says with a weak, but relieved smile, "I always knew that your pure heart remained steadfast. I never stopped believing in you." She then tells him that she's sorry she couldn't do more, and she's sorry that the world has beaten him down to the person he became. And then she tells him one thing that completely breaks him: "More than anything... I'm just happy that I saw you again."

-Regret, guilt and anguish consumes Obito as he tearfully responds with heavy pain in his voice while tightly gripping her hands : "You are the only person that I've ever cared for and loved so endlessly... and yet I... I couldn't save you...!" Rin would warmly respond, "You're here now. That's more than enough for me."

-Rin would then lastly say that she will always be watching him and would live on in his heart, and then her eyes slowly starts to close... her hand would loosen up in the hold of his hand, indicating that her final breath has finally been released, and she peacefully dies in his arms (again).

I feel like I've been doing a lot of b*tching and moaning lately, which aren't really the vibes I wanna be putting out (at least not without balancing it out with stuff I'm actually happy about).

So here are a couple of things that are kinda cool for me~

I recently had to get a new phone because my old one was very close to exploding (the battery was swelling). I don't really bother with top end models because I hardly use my phone except for texts and calls and looking up coupons when I'm shopping. But even nowadays, a relatively cheap phone has so many new features~

I won't use most of them, but it's cool that they're there, and I always have fun setting up new tech with all my customizations~ (Even though I don't use it much, I still want it to be cute!) I'm mostly just happy that the camera is an upgrade, so my photos won't be as shitty.

Well, a better camera isn't gonna do anything for my lack of photography knowledge, but at least the pictures are a little clearer (The color balancing is still off, but I'll figure it out eventually.)

Also, kinda excited about a newish OC that I thought of.

Right now I'm calling them "Mascot Businessman" or "Yuru" (named after "Yuru-Chara") but the details aren't finalized. I don't like any of these mask designs yet, but I think the title is more or less self-explanatory: it's a businessman that wears a mascot head everywhere he goes. At first, it was just gonna be the one head, but I like the idea that they have different ones for different moods.

It's a simple idea, but somehow I'm actually pretty excited to work on them, which I haven't felt since I made Kun3h0~

I'm torn between leaving them as an actual mascot type character - they only exists for single pieces of art - or if I want to actually develop their story, because I do have an idea for them being paired with a coworker that's constantly trying to catch them with the mask off even though no one else in their workplace seems to acknowledge it. It's really about boundaries and accepting the strangeness of other people to live a happier life, but I dunno if I wanna go that deep with it.

I called them "newish" earlier because strictly speaking, this is a theme that's appeared in my work before.

A LONG time ago, I think even before DSYNC was conceptualized, I had an idea for a rogue abandoned 1010 that wore a mascot head because he lost his old one. Anyway, I'm pretty sure that that idea was what eventually turned into DSYNC B-Side.

There's also The Prince Formerly Known as Frog, who also has a big mascot head, but the execution for him is kinda different (he's supposed to be a guy stuck midway in a mascot costume and his original clothes because his curse was only half broken). And I don't draw him that much anyway~

So I consider Yuru to be an evolution of those ideas.

Hopefully I'll have some finished art of him soon after I figure out how I want all their heads to look~ (Because otherwise it really is just someone in a business suit.)

Siren!Char is one of many characters in my Monster AU- where there exists Werewolves, Vampires, Sirens + Mermaids, many different versions of the Undead, and more! (Which you'll learn of soon :))

Charborg, (the fish-based scrunkly that he is) is of course, a Siren; basically being the carnivorous, singing version of a Mermaid.

This means that he has much sharper teeth (as you saw), claws instead of rounder, shorter nails (which i forgot to draw), and also a murkier color palette/scales. His tail also sports much tougher scales, built for combat (though not straight up immune from all hits) and a lot less shiny than a Mermaid.

(He's based off of a Sockeye Salmon, btw- got that from his PFP)

All fish-based, human-like monsters (Mermaids and all the species which come from them) have the ability to retract their tails- replacing them in an uncomfortable few seconds with legs. They still have most of their features in the transformation- keeping their coloration through 'tattoos', keeping their sharp appendages (teeth, claws, etc), strange 'ears', and yellow-ish to orange-ish eyes. (I'm using the Vampire bat transformation rules here, so they do keep their pants, somehow. Don't ask me about that bit, I'm just trying to keep everything PG-13 man 😭)

While Mermaids can sing quite beautifully, Sirens have the unique ability to mind control the people who are exposed to it. However if the vocal cords, mouth, or general throat area of the Siren is damaged- or if the Siren simply hasn't practiced this power- then they cannot mind control. Some Sirens are simply born without this power as well- only singing a bit nicer-sounding than average. Unfortunately, Char is one of these people; he cannot mind control, and was kicked out of his original Pod for this reason. Fleeing, he eventually found a pirate crew made up of Mermaids and Sirens alike (a strange sight by itself- there's lots of prejudice from both sides), which accepted him. He made his home there, and started a life of stealing, sword-fighting, and generally exciting, happy moments (until they got attacked, but we'll get to that).

While he was originally a pirate and had more pirate-fitting clothes, I'm suiting him with a more grunge-y, punk style (with some pirate clothes sprinkled in) later in the lore that may have not fully shown itself in the photo that I've posted, but i swear he will look stylish and funky in my art eventually, once I have his design down!!!

(Feel free to submit ideas for the designs or clothes that they could wear btw- I need ideas!!)

Lore wise, I had a few different ideas for him, but they all circled back to him being a weird lil pirate so I settled on this:

Originally, he was living with a crew made up of other Sirens and Mermaids (as I said before), parading around stealing anything shiny and fighting other pirate gangs in their (probably stolen) ship. That is, until, they ended up fighting and stealing from the wrong crew and the seemingly small human group came back a few days later with a LOT more people and revenge-fought them, searching for a very important treasure which they stole. The battle ends with Chars Pod being killed off and (if they were deemed 'pretty enough') trophied. Char ends up surviving by hiding with the ships luggage, but eventually he has to bail ship and gains a large amount of injuries in the process. He finds land, but I am unfortunately still workshopping everything beyond that. (I'm focusing on the whole setting rather than the character's lore atm.)

Hope it all sounds interesting so far!

More things will happen with the others and there will obviously be other B-Plots to do with the characters unrelated to Char, but for now I'm just focusing on their world, all the different species, and all their scarred up (speaking of- Char has scars, I swear, I just didn't draw them in that initial pic), weirdo designs :)

I'm making art of their world plus designs for their bases/homes and just general landmarks, so hopefully I can get that out soon!

coming back/moving blogs

hey, been a while, hasn't it? i hope you're all doing well! this is my official coming-back-to-tumblr post, but it's a little different than i had originally planned.

i've decided it would be in my best interests to move blogs after a bit of thinking. i feel like coming back here would just feel too awkward for both me and you guys, especially with my now deleted drama post. i just wanna move on from all this bullshit, especially since i've had do deal with a lot of other shit, including college.

it's still @/evrydaygets-darkr, just moved to a different account. i still like the name, so i'm keeping it for now. this account will still be up for archival purposes, but it will never be active again. i hope you understand. as a general life update, i'm done with my first semester of college!! it's been kinda fun so far! i've made a couple friends here and there, and classes (except for math) were super cool!!! i loved most of my professors, and i am honestly excited for the upcoming semester! ive been artblocked to hell and back though, so i don't have much in terms of new art or writing, but i've been trying my best to get out of it. i also gained a new hyperfixation, which is project sekai: colorful stage (abbreviated as pjsk), so i'll probably be posting abt that quite a bit (btw my fav group is wxs and my fav character is tsukasa :3 ), specifically abt stats and achievements w like song completions, maybe some pulls too!

im also gonna put a few updates on aus and oc stories rq:

for my tmc aus: the big ones i'm working on are getting new masterposts and infodumps for the new blog. i would rb posts from this blog to the new one, but due to some personal stuff i don't feel very comfortable doing that. i havent been able to cook much lore-wise for any of them, but i'll probably get back into the swing of things once i start interacting w you guys again. - for specifically father's duty: i'll hopefully have chapter 3 done soon. it's actually been almost done for a while now, i just need to think of the ending. thank you to those who've stuck with me this far <3 (EDIT: all my tmc aus are discontinued. read above for more info)

for murder files: i'm gonna change up the pacing a bit because i feel like i was going a bit too fast with it. i wanna take my time with it and make it feel as real as possible. it might take me a bit to get fully set up bc im probably gonna have to plan a few steps ahead, which i've barely done. i just need time to plan everything out and draw some shit

Linked Universe Projects

Shatterproof: I have more backstories cooking, and a half-finished fic or two, but that's about it. I plan on updating a story at least once before January

Council (1931 AU): backburner, haven't really had inspiration. Still on my radar though, and it spins through my head on occasion!

Marvelous Misadventures: been plucking away at this! I recently had an epiphany regarding the next part of the plot, so hopefully that gets me more excited to work on it

Considering expanding the coloring pages I made into a whole series, that could be cool

Misc stuff includes a couple half-abandoned oneshots, a few drawing ideas, and a major art project that probably won't happen because I'm trying not to burn myself out 😅

Four Swords Projects

Fairytale AU: recently gained fire for this again. Reread and organized all my existing material, edited the outline, and I desperately want to finish it soon. Hesitantly scheduling for before the new year. Draft currently maybe about 30% of the way, at 8k.

Isekai AU: I don't think I've mentioned this to anyone outside discord, but ta da I'm deep in this. I'm probably 90% done, about 30k. This will be a Christmas fic, I hope!!

Vampire lords AU: rambly vampire plot is going. Somewhat slowly. I've been trying to not overload myself with too much, so this has been demoted slightly. :) Bite fics happen spontaneously, though, and there might be another coming.

Rinthia AU: my original world, the one seen in Nothing New Under the Sun. This is kind of a passing thought, definitely in planning stages, but I would kind of like to expand this—see where the other characters are, give y'all some answers, because the answers are there

Non-fandom

I want to do more traditional art, graphite and watercolors mostly, and that usually means using photos or life instead of fandom stuff. Makes it a bit less exciting, but maybe I can find a way of doing that. I miss my lil oil paint studio area but I can work with what I have

I'm crafting a few Christmas presents instead of buying them because I do not have much money. That is something I need to spend like, this next week doing

Sanderson merch: I have a goal of getting a booth at Dragonsteel next December, and selling some small souvenir stuff. My plans involve making more pins (I ordered a couple already, and they're very nice), drawing some coloring pages, and maybe advertising here a little once I actually have some stuff I'm proud of up. This will ideally take a year to get together, though, so no rush.

By Month

November

I spent most of November working on The Worst Thing About Earth, kind of an impulse fic that spiraled out of control. I think I burned myself out a little on this, so I've been taking it slowly. Trying to, anyway.

December

So far, I've mostly worked on holiday gift exchanges and some backburner stuff. Like I said, I've been taking it kind of gently. I plan on finishing the FS isekai AU this month, and getting most of the way through the fairytale AU. Getting those off my plate will free me up to think about other things, I think. I also plan on maybe one more bite fic and one more LU disability AU thing before the new year.

January On

I'm not sure what the next month will bring! Ideally, I'll be wrapping up the fairytale AU and intermittently posting a few little things. I'm hoping to return to a couple of my older projects soon, mostly Marvelous Misadventures, because I've left that thing unfinished for LONG ENOUGH.

This next year, I want to try to devote more time to doing things for myself that aren't fandom things. I'd like to reread Stormlight Archive before #5 comes out in December, play more video games, and do more painting. I would like to establish a better habit of making and eating food. I want to play board games a little more often.

Still, the muse can be fickle, and as you probably know by now, I am very good at chasing my inspiration!!
