Pool Party
This was an ask from @theewokingdead:
Imagine you're relationship is still sorta new. Benny tells you there's going to be a BBQ and pool party at one of the boys' house and he wants you to go to meet them all. You're a little nervous, not just because it's your first time meeting them but you hate how you look in a swimsuit. But you agree to go because you want to meet his friends. You wear a one piece because, you know, too insecure for a bikini. But when you take off your cover up Benny is just like enamored. Everything goes well and you're having a great time. You excuse yourself to go to the bathroom. When you open the door to leave the bathroom Benny is standing there. He kisses you with such intensity that he pushes you back into the room. He tells you how sexy you look in the swimsuit yadda yadda. Next thing you know he's got you against the sink, facing the mirror, pulling your swimsuit aside so you can watch as he fucks you from behind.

“You’ll come this weekend then, sweetheart?” Benny asks me, his voice full of hope and begging. I swear this man know exactly how to pull things from me.
“Of course. Anything for you, Benny.”
Benny and I have been dating for a few months now and it’s going great. He’s sweet, kind, hilarious, and hot as fucking hell. He makes me feel like I’m the only person in the room when he looks at me and no one has ever looked at me like that before. So it only makes sense that we’ve progressed to the point where he wants me to meet his friends. One of them is having a BBQ, Frankie? I think? Or was it some kind of fish? And he invited us all over to go swimming. Which is great, fantastic, wonderful. I can’t wait to meet them all, except for one problem -
I hate how I look in a bathing suit.
No matter what size I’ve been, I’ve always hated how I look. I typically choose to hide in one pieces, often tossing on a shirt over my suit before swimming. But I did just get a new bathing suit - ok fine, my friend bought it for me after she saw me in it in the dressing room, demanding I throw the rest of mine out. I’ll admit it is a cute suit - strapless, with little cutouts above and below a tie to the right of the center of my body. It’s pretty comfortable which I can get behind.
When Benny comes to pick me up, I’m already dress, new bathing suit on under a coverup that shows nothing of the suit under it. I’m still debating on leaving it on.
“You look beautiful, sweetheart.” Benny leans down to kiss me and I chuckle into him.
“I haven’t even taken off my coverup.”
His eyes darken a few shades as he stares down at me. “Well I know what you look like under any bathing suit so it don’t much matter to me.”
“Benny!” I slap his arm playfully, hoping that the desire that spring to life at his words quells before we make it to Frankie’s.
We arrive at this beautiful home, white picket fence leading up to a wrap around porch, complete with porch swing. The house itself is a light blue with a bright red door and I swear it looks cut out of a magazine. Benny leads us inside and through the empty house, towards the backyard where I can see the pool and everyone lounging around and in it.
“Hey guys!” Benny yells as he slides the glass door open.
“Hey Benny!” A shorter man with salt and pepper colored hair gives him a hug before he sees me. “And you must be the girlfriend he won’t shut up about.”
“That’s me!” I stick my hand out to shake his but he smirks and pulls me in for a hug instead.
“Oh no. We’re hugging, hermosa.”
“Alright alright. Break it up.” Benny chuckles as Santi lets go of me.
He makes the rounds, introducing me to everyone there before Frankie tells us to settle on some chairs as he was just getting the grill going. Benny leads me over to a couple of cushy looking lounge chairs and I set our bag down.
“Wanna play corn hole, Ben?” His brother Will yells to him from the yard. “Bring your girl!”
Benny looks at me, eyebrows raised in question. “Wanna play?”
“Sure!”
Will I knew, having met him just a couple weeks into dating Benny. He’s nearly the complete opposite, organized and rigid, obsessed with numbers. But he’s also nice and really cares about his brother and his friends. He must have made a great soldier.
Will sets up the game and hands us some bags, holding a beer in one hand as he takes the first throw. We play and chat for a while, Santi coming over to join in and even Frankie gets to toss a few bags inbetween checking the grill. I’m having such a great time despite the sun completely baring down on us, no cover on this saide of the yard. My sun hat only blocks out so much and after about 40 minutes, we’re all too sweaty to continue.
“Pool time!” Santi yells, shedding his shirt as he runs to the pool, Benny and Will close on his heels.
“Food will be ready soon!” Frankie yells from the grill.
I head back over to our chair and hesitate. I am pretty hot and the pool would help to cool me down quickly, but that would mean removing my coverup in front of everyone.
“Come on in, sweetheart!” Benny manages to yell before chucking a water ball at Santi’s head.
It’s ok. Just take off the coverup and go in the pool. Yalissa assured me that I look good in this one. It’ll be fine. I grip the bottom of my coverup and lift it over me, gently folding it and setting it on the chair. I turn and head to the shallow end of the pool where the steps are, gripping the railing to step in. Benny sloshes through the water to get to me, his eyes roaming up and down my body as he extends his hand to me.
“You look gorgeous, sweetheart.”
“You have to say that.”
“I don’t have to say shit. I mean it.”
He gives me a kiss and Santi whistles. “Get a room!”
Benny breaks the kiss but his eyes remain on me as I take the water ball from his hand and chuck it at Santi, smacking him squarely in the face. Loud laughter erupts from all the men, even Santi who was wiping water from his face as Benny whoops, fist pumping in the air.
“That’s my girl! She’s on my team!”
We pair off, us against Will and Santi, trying to pelt each other with water balls. Benny is always near me, placing his hand on my back or arm, constantly touching me as if to silently ask if I’m ok while simultaneously telling me I’m ok, that I’m safe here.
“Ok ok time out!” I call. “Bathroom break!”
I leave the pool and towel myself off, winking at Benny as he watches me. I walk past Frankie and he tells me the bathroom is down the hall, first door on the right. I use the bathroom and wash my hands, turning off the sink and look at myself in the mirror. Ok fine, Yalissa was right - this suit did fit me pretty well. I just won’t be doing any competitive swimming in it with the sleeveless top, but it does hug my curves well. I open the door and Benny is there, his eyes dark as the sea on a stormy day. Before I can speak he kisses me, pushing his tongue inside my mouth as he walks me backwards, kicking the door closed behind him. He kisses a path to my neck, each connection of his lips increasing the fire that sprang to life between my legs the moment he put his lips on mine.
“Benny,” I moan out as he pushes my hips into the counter, his hands trying to touch every part of me.
“You’re so fuckin’ hot, sweetheart,” He moans into my neck, his hot breath fanning out across my jaw. I feel his hand on my boob as his thumb swipes over my clothed nipple, and fuck does that feel good.
“Hate myself in a bathing suit,” I’m practically panting at this point and the only way I know he heard me is because he stops, pulling back and catching my gaze with his baby blues, which were now as dark as the sea on a stormy day.
“You’re fuckin’ sexy as hell.”
I scoff. “If you say so.”
“I do.” Is that a twinkle in his eyes?
He grips my hips and spins me so I’m facing the counter. His legs kicks mine apart and I feel him drag his fingers across my clothed cunt and I moan his name, feeling how wet I’m getting. He dips a finger inside my bathing suit and pushes into me and fuck do I need him now.
“So wet for me already, sweetheart? Want me to fuck you in this bathroom?”
“Oh fuck yes!”
He fumbles with his shorts but then he’s there, moving aside my bathing suit while pushing my back down so I’m nearly flush with the counter as he thrusts inside me, lighting me up as he taps that spot at the back of me that only he can. He slowly pulls out of me and back in a few times, letting me feel every ridge and inch of his skin before he leans over me, crowding me with his body that I can never get enough of.
“I’m gonna fuck you into this sink and you’re gonna watch. I want you to see how sexy you are, even when taking my cock.”
He pulls me up so I’m leaning up enough to look in the mirror, my fingers gripping the edge of the counter on either side. He reaches forward and pulls my top down, my boobs popping out. He massages them for a minute before he grips my hips, thrusting into me at a rough pace, my hips slamming into the counter edge. It digs into my stomach but I am so far from caring. When Benny fucks, he fucks and I’m just along for the ride. I’m watching him, his hair still wet from the pool, small pieces of it falling forward into his face, his mouth open and panting, sometimes gritting his teeth before he lets out a moan and fuck does the sounds that come from him turn me on more.
“Look at yourself. Look at what you do to me. I can’t even wait - had to..nghhh..have you before we even left.”
“Oh shit!” I know I’m close, I can feel my orgasm building faster and faster. I catch sight of myself in the mirror and I definitely look like a fucked out mess - boobs sliding back and forth across the counter, my wet hair sticking to my skin, my fingers digging into the sides of the counter. My mouth is open, like I’m silently screaming “Oh” over and over again. But then I glance back up at Benny and the expression on his face as he watches me, with such admiration and desire, a need to be with me, in me, around me overwhelming him. It’s too much and I come, screaming his name as he covers my mouth, thrusting into me a few more times before coming himself, grunting out his release. It’s all heavy breathing as I collapse onto the counter, feeling him soften inside me as he pulls out with a hiss.
“Hang on a sec, sweetheart. I’m gonna clean you up.”
He wets a cloth and moves my suit aside again. I feel a cold, wet washcloth pressed to my core and I whimper, my legs twitching as he slides it around my sensitive cunt.
“Ssshh I know sweetheart, I know. But I gotta clean you up.”
He finishes quickly, drying off my legs with another cloth before tossing them both into the hamper that was in there.
“Benny. We can’t just leave that here.”
“What? It’s laundry.” He shrugs and I know there’s no getting through to him. Plus I’m way too fucked out to really care.
“You’re amazing.”
He smiles down at me and pulls me close, kissing me gently before pulling back. “You’re amazinger.”
If any of the men noticed my limping they didn’t say anything but I swear I saw Santi give Benny a knowing smirk.

Simple Syrup
You asked for Daveed smut and I tried to deliver. At least this one time. Enjoy!
Warning: Sexual Content. 18+.
Daveed Diggs x Black!OC (Olivia Jenkins)(Yes, the MC/ OC is black. Representation is important.)
"Yo, open up!" Heavy fists beat against the door of Olivia's downtown apartment, making her roll her eyes. "I know you can hear me, girl! It's your favorite pop-up roommate!"
"You've been evicted, Diggs!"
"I paid you rent, though!"
Turning the stove on low, Olivia shook her head as she wiped her hands on a dishtowel. Daveed always found a way to surprise her with his presence. He never texted before showing up at her door but frequently sported a backpack or suitcase full of clothes or Rafael for an extended stay. He and all his baggage were welcome anytime, with or without notice.
Stepping to the door, Olivia bit back a smile before responding. "I didn't receive any payments this month."
"I got it in my bag."
"Bag or bags?"
"Open the door to find out."
Daveed took a step back as the locks began to turn, waiting for Olivia's face to greet him with faux anger the way she did the last time he showed up out of nowhere and stayed for three weeks. Despite stopping by six months ago, it felt like a lifetime since he'd been in her company. Bi-weekly phone conversations weren't enough. He needed to be near Olivia while she watched whatever Housewives franchise had her attention for the month.
When the door opened to reveal the long hallway leading to her living area, Olivia stood with a hand on her hips and a grin on her face.
"Where is my money," she asked, shifting her weight from foot to foot. Just as she expected, he stood in the hallway with a suitcase that she knew cost a fortune to check at the airport and his worn Jansport full of junk and work.
Daveed laughed and bent to rifle through his backpack for a crumpled white envelope that he handed over with exaggerated purpose. "Here you go, Miss Jenkins. Sorry to be late on rent for, what, 8 months? I hope this is enough."
"Boy, you didn't really need to pay me. You're not on the lease."
"Good," he answered as he pretended to wipe sweat from his brow. "Because those are just Chick Fil A coupons."
Olivia stood with her mouth open as Daveed brushed her to roll his luggage to the first bedroom on the right.
He listened to her insult his "stupid face" and instruct him to hurry up while he scanned the room he had called home more times than he could count. All of Daveed's belongings were in the same place, with almost unnoticeable shifts to show that Olivia had cleaned once or twice. His favorite throw blanket was folded at the edge of the bed with his initials elegantly embroidered in the corner. The air smelled of the vanilla candle she kept on the nightstand next to a framed photo of the crew enjoying a roller coaster at Six Flags. His favorite trinket, Olivia's homecoming crown from undergrad, sat next to a single gold medal from Daveed's days competing in track and field. To him, it symbolized their bond from the beginning. To her, it was probably just a space to hide old items.
"Daveed, get in here! I need you to cut!"
All at once, Daveed's sense of self returned to center him in reality. He quickly kicked off his shoes once he remembered Olivia's rules and started off toward the kitchen to answer the call for his help.
Even with the windows open, he could smell savory and sweet aromas combining for a smell that reminded him of the holidays. However, the calendar placed them square in the middle of an excruciatingly hot summer. He could see the open bottle of BBQ sauce on the center island next to a mixing bowl full of things he couldn't recognize but knew they would taste great. Bushels of greens sat in a pot on the stove, boiling amid smoked meat and seasonings to complement the food cooking in the oven. Daveed felt excitement take hold of his face and forced the apples of his cheeks up toward his eyes. Olivia looked up from her task at the cutting board and smirked.
"I thought you were vegan now."
"My business is my business, Liv. We talked about this last week."
"We also talked about you heading directly to Toronto after your job in Atlanta and, yet, here you are." She studied Daveed's face for answers but found nothing but a growing smile. "Come over here and cut up these strawberries while I sauce the ribs."
Daveed followed directions without complaint, lazily strolling to the island and nudging Olivia away. He'd been her help in the kitchen before to open pesky jars or stir while she tended to the more time-intensive parts of the meal. On more than one occasion, he had fucked up, and each time she invited him back into her safe space with open arms.
"How's Rafa and the family," Olivia asked with her back turned while she bent to take a peek into the oven.
Daveed kept his eyes on her backside for a moment too long before answering. "Rafa's good. Amy sends her love and says that you are more than welcome for Friendsgiving this year. She volunteered you for pies."
"You volunteered me for pies, Daveed," Olivia corrected, knowing how much her friend loved her desserts. "What about my babies? Is Santiago the best big brother to Emelia?"
"He's...trying. But he did send a gift for the lady with the bald head. His words, not mine."
Olivia ran a hand across her tapered fade and chuckled. "I feel like he heard Rafael say that."
"No, Rafa calls you Thick Mr. Clean."
"Yeah, because that's what you said when you were drunk on New Years," Olivia accused as she gestured toward the cabinet housing her wine glasses. Daveed nodded before answering.
"I said it with love!"
"Mhmm, I'm sure."
Together they watched half a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc be transferred into the separate glasses, waiting for the moment they could take a sip. The last time they shared a drink, they ran through two 12- packs of beer with Rafael and ended up dancing with street performers in Times Square. She hadn't been able to stomach the smell of a Budweiser since then and fully transitioned to fruity notes and sparkling Rosé with Daveed occasionally coming along for the ride.
Taking another long sip from his glass, Daveed leaned against the island counter to watch Olivia stir a mixture for skillet cornbread.
"What's got you so stressed?"
Olivia shrugged but didn't look away from the bowl. "Nothing. I'm fine."
"The last time you cooked like this, you were writing your dissertation. And the time before that, it was your mom."
The room fell quiet outside of the spoon, ricocheting off the sides of the mixing bowl. After several seconds, Olivia took a deep breath and looked up at Daveed.
"Daddy's getting remarried. Omari and I are his best-kids," she laughed. "I'm not stressed. Just a bit...sad, I guess?"
Daveed understood the issue without needing more context. Five years ago, he was the one sitting beside Olivia on the floor of her brother's home office after the news came that their mother had in the hospital. He was there for the saddest funeral he'd ever experienced and the months of reconciliation that the family struggled through on the way to some sense of normalcy. The idea that her father had found love again was heartwarming, but Daveed knew the occasion was bringing up old feelings.
"Wanna talk about it?"
She shrugged again and moved the skillet to the oven. "There's nothing to talk about. I said I'm fine. I wish she was here, ya know, but I know she isn't upset. She always told us to move on once she's gone. She sure as hell would."
Daveed chuckled at the idea of Mrs. Jenkin's moving on in the afterlife. "She was funny like that. I remember when she met me for the first time and kept calling me Devante."
"Yes," Olvia exclaimed, a spark of joy returning to her eyes. "She'd call me and be like, that boy Devante is smart! Ask him if he can put me in a movie one day!"
Olivia's voice warped to imitate her mother as best as possible before she burst into laughter with Daveed.
"One of the last things she said to me was that I need to make sure you keep having fun. She didn't want you to stop enjoying life on account of her."
"Yeah…" Daveed watched Olivia down the wine in her glass with her eyes closed, waiting for her to continue her thought. "Well, you're doing a good job. We could work on your definition of fun, but solid effort so far."
"How can I do better? I'm open to criticism."
Daveed kept his eyes on Olivia while he reached across her body to grab the wine bottle for the final drink. Her breath hitched while alcohol buzzed through her system, creating the perfect storm for sudden arousal. She fought her thoughts by shaking her head to recover.
"You can start by grabbing those strawberries and bringing them over to the stove."
"Don't skip the question." Daveed's smirk as he followed her to the other side of the counter made Oliva hot with embarrassment, but she kept a calm exterior. "Are you still having fun with me?"
"I always have fun with you, D, you know that. Who else is gonna play Bop It with me at 2 AM on a Wednesday? The question is, are you still having fun with me, superstar?"
"Don't start that. I come and stay at your house because I miss you, not because I can't find somewhere else to sleep. You're my person."
"For now," Olivia added as a rebuttal, ignoring the way her stomach flipped at hearing the way Daveed felt. "What happens when you get married? You're gonna have to go be a family man like Rafa. Then we'll only see each other on Friendsgiving and Christmas."
"We'll cross that bridge when we get to it."
"Hm." Olivia's short but skeptical laugh effectively ended the conversation. Still, Daveed had already made up his mind to return to the discussion later in the week. "So, how long are you here this time?"
Daveed used one of his large palms to push a few curls off his forehead in search of relief from the heat in the kitchen. "I was thinking a couple weeks. Three or four."
"That's longer than normal! I get to have my favorite guy here long enough to help me put wallpaper up in the guest bathroom?"
"Am I only muscle to you?"
"Of course, not," she answered with a sweet smile, making Daveed mirror her expression. "You're also a taste tester. Open up."
Before Daveed could object, Olivia swiped barbecue sauce across his bottom lip for his opinion. The tip of his tongue appeared to taste the tangy brown sauce, finding an explosion of flavor that reminded him how much he missed Olivia's cooking.
"What's the verdict," Olivia asked over her shoulder as she turned off the eye under her simple syrup mixture.
"Tangy and sweet. I'm not sure why you don't bottle this up for sale. My dad would love some."
"Meh, I like having it as a treat for the people I love. All my hobbies aren't for profit, my friend."
Daveed dramatically threw a hand across his chest and gasped. "Did Mean Ole Liv just imply that she loves me? I-I'm gobsmacked. Utterly shocked and eternally grateful."
"Diggs, you're pushing it," she laughed. "Come taste this syrup before I start on the lemonade."
From experience, Daveed knew what to expect. But he humored Olivia anyway if only to see pride light up her face when he told her how amazing the sweet mixture tasted. After washing his hands in the sink, he skimmed his middle and pointer fingers across the top of the syrup to pick up enough to coat his fingertips.
He eyed the liquid for a moment, watching it slowly trickle down the side of his long fingers while he thought of his next move. Olivia stood at the refrigerator with her back turned, humming a song from The Wiz. At the same time, she gathered ingredients for the beverage.
"Hey...hey, Liv." Daveed had already started to close the short gap between them and stood waiting for Olivia to respond to his call.
"Wha -" A sudden swipe of syrup across her bottom lip confused Olivia. "D, what is your problem?"
Stepping forward, Daveed took her chin in his to bring their lips inches apart. "Is it still cool if I taste?"
Olivia stared at Daveed without blinking, fighting her brain for a competent answer to his question. Instead, she nodded in a daze with her jaw slack. His fingers took gentle meandering paths across the peaks and valleys of her face before using his thumb to part her lips.
Daveed's first kiss was a tentative peck to test the waters. When he received no resistance, he pulled Olivia closer for full access to her mouth.
Neither of them expected to fall into the kiss so easily. Olivia didn't expect to melt into Daveed's body while he dictated the pace and intensity. Daveed didn't expect to feel an overwhelming desire to consume the one person that always felt so close but far away. He wanted to feel and taste every part of Olivia while he had the green light. She reveled in Daveed's attention, even if it was only for a moment.
Taking a step backward, Daveed used his knowledge of the kitchen to guide them back toward the stove. Their lips remained connected to taste the last bits of each other. Olivia was the first to break the lip lock and move her head upward, directing Daveed to choose a spot on her neck to explore.
The cold, sticky simple syrup came next, the thick glob landing on the center of her chest and sliding to her cleavage.
"I've thought about this a lot," Daveed spoke barely above a whisper as he used a finger to spread simple syrup across Olivia's chest. "Kinda wild to say, but I have."
"How long?"
"A year. Maybe two."
Olivia released a shaky gasp once Daveed's tongue began licking from the space between her breast to the base of her neck to catch the simple syrup. As quickly as it disappeared, he replaced the sugar mixture with another round at the juncture of her neck and shoulder. He groaned as the tart strawberry flavor mixed with the sweetness of the sugar and Olivia's skin. She grasped the back of his head for stability, allowing her eyes to flutter closed for a few seconds.
"How does it turn out? In your thoughts, I mean?"
Daveed paused to kiss Olivia's lips again and run his hands down her back. "Doesn't matter. We're here now, and I can't think of anything outside of how good you taste drenched in strawberry sauce."
"Simple syrup," Olivia answered, smiling as she sneakily dipped her finger into the pot behind Daveed. "It's simple syrup, and I haven't gotten a taste yet. Open your mouth."
They kept their eyes on each other while Daveed opened his mouth, waiting for whatever came next. Olivia took her time to coat his tongue in syrup, imagining how it would feel to experience the concoction from his mouth.
There started the mad scramble to get closer, taste more and touch longer. Separate but equal desires to completely consume the other person had the pair maneuvering around the kitchen. They remained attached at the lips until they reached the solid wood breakfast table near the large casement window. Daveed was the first to remove clothing, pulling his t-shirt over his head and tossing it somewhere behind him. A split-second decision had him rushing back to the stove to retrieve the syrup pot. He carefully placed it on the table while Olivia slid the straps of her summer dress down her arms to let the fabric pool at her waist. Daveed watched with a flirtatious smile, marveling at the expanse of her warm brown skin. Olivia returned the sentiment, letting her eyes rake over his broad chest and toned midsection.
One after the other, Daveed and Olivia added bits of syrup to different body parts to lick and suck the skin clean. A handful mistakenly dripped onto Olivia's thigh, and they watched the sticky liquid carry small chunks of strawberries to the inner portion of her leg.
Daveed regarded the sight with wonder before carefully dropping to one knee for a better look. He maintained eye contact with Olivia as he kissed his way to the sweetest spot, lingering in places that earned the most desirable response. The scratch of facial hair combined with his lips and tongue's soft, silkiness made Olivia keen for more. She could feel the blood rushing to pool at her inner thigh for a bruise that would leave evidence of a dream achieved. She smiled at the thought of seeing it when she was getting dressed and how her stomach might feel with butterflies from the memories.
Daveed mumbled praise after praise into the supple skin of Olivia's thigh before starting a journey back to her lips. When he returned, he slowly pushed the waistband of his sweats down his hips and legs.
"Oh," Olivia spoke, eyes wide while she fought the natural desire to let her gaze travel. "I...wow, okay. I feel like I'm violating you."
"I'm kind of asking you to," Daveed laughed as he stepped closer.
"This is so fucking weird. Are we really about to do this?"
"Only if you want. I mean, I want to, but we can stop whenever you say the word."
He was closer now, dropping kisses on her shoulders while he pressed their chests together to reduce the space between him.
Olivia's legs naturally hooked themselves around his waist at the same time that her arms circled his neck.
She leaned forward to speak against Daveed's lips with her eyes hooded in lust, "I want this."
Passion and the hint of strawberry coating their lips intensified the moment between Olivia and Daveed. He held her writhing hips steady while he stood on his toes to push forward. Simultaneous moans of pleasure rang out in the kitchen, surely gaining the attention of nearby neighbors.
Their hips bucked an even pace, repeatedly meeting to build tension in their bellies. Daveed felt the strain of each stroke in his thighs and calves but found the desire to fuck his friend on her kitchen table to override any other immediate discomfort.
"Are you a talker," Daveed asked randomly, making Olivia's eyes snap up from the action below her waist to focus her attention on him.
"What?"
"A talker. Do you like to talk during sex?" His question came between labored breaths and grunts holding a mixture of exertion and indescribable pleasure.
"Daveed, are you trying to have a conversation with me right now?"
"I mean, I like to - fuck - I...I like to talk sometimes. Is that cool?"
A high-pitched moan ripped through Olivia's throat before she could gather her senses to respond. "It's your c-call, Diggs. Just don't stop."
He followed directions without skipping a beat, digging into his strength to pick up speed when he sensed they could move to the next level. He peppered in filthy statements that stimulate Olivia's mind while driving into her with expert precision.
They held on to each other as they reached separate peaks with no regard for the climbing noise level.
"I wanna do this forever," Daveed whispered into Olivia's ear before nipping at the lobe.
"Not look into my eyes lovingly and write songs about me?"
Daveed chuckled and snapped his hips forward, earning a near-silent moan. "Can I use you calling me daddy on the hook?"
"You got a lot of work to do before that happens."
"I'll put in overtime."
Splaying his hand across Olivia's torso, Daveed pushed her to lay flat on the table before leaning to hover over her body. He used his waning energy to give her all the power in his hips, searching for a climax. When she thought she couldn't come anymore, Olivia felt her body jolt off the table once the pad of Daveed's thumb began rubbing tight circles on her clit. Daveed smiled at the reaction but felt it disappear as soon as his hips falter mid-stroke. He rushed to pull out of Olivia, fearing that if he stayed inside for a moment longer, he would expedite his journey to fatherhood.
Olivia helped his cause by curling her fingers around his length and joining his pumping effort while she propped her body up on her elbow. He came with a choppy moan and heavy breathing on her belly, his chest rising and falling rapidly in time with the stove's timer beeping for attention.
Both Olivia and Daveed dissolved into laughter.
"Please, don't let this dry on me. It's sexy now but a pain to get off later."
Daveed's laughter climbed to hysterics at Olivia's mention of the mess on her stomach before reaching across the table to grab napkins out of the centerpiece component.
"Sorry," he apologized sheepishly as he helped wipe her clean. "Condoms next time?"
"Or my mouth."
Daveed stood shocked for a split second while Olivia worked to readjust her clothing and hurry to the stove. He followed her lead and pulled up his sweats before clearing the syrup pot and grabbing wipes to disinfect the surface.
The room was silent while they arranged hot dishes on the counter and privately grappled with having sex for the first time. A sense of "now what" hung in the air, which made Daveed more and more uncomfortable.
After plates were fixed, they chose opposite ends of the table to enjoy the meal.
"You know," Olivia started, laughing as she swallowed the last piece of cornbread on her plate. "That simple syrup recipe is my mom's. This whole meal was her favorite thing to cook, and I made it because I was really fuckin' sad and needed her nearby. Then you showed up."
Daveed's eyes snapped up from his plate. He wasn't sure what to say and remained silent in hopes that Olivia would elaborate.
"A couple weeks before she died, she told me that she would still be directing my love life from Heaven. She grabbed my hand and said, 'Dammit, Bean, I'm gone get you a man even if I gotta do it during bingo with the good Lord.'"
"You think she's up there winning the grand prize?"
Olivia shook her head. "I think she forfeited it to send you to me."
Her answer made Daveed still to watch Olivia's eyes meet his set from across the table. She reached a hand across the table with her palms facing upward, beckoning Daveed to place his palm in the center of hers.
"We have three weeks to figure this shit out," Daveed said, smiling before bringing Olivia's palm to rest on his cheek.
She looked at him for a minute to take in the way his eyes reflected the sun before using her head to gesture toward the pot still resting on the counter.
"And all night to finish off mama's recipe."

One difference: Donna gives the Zeppelin tickets to Jackie and Hyde when she finds out about their kiss?
It's the perfect one-shot material, and I would LOVE to read it coming from you
Sorry for bothering you by the way, this is just a silly little prompt that's been in my mind for a LONG time
It's no bother at all! 😃 In fact I ended up writing you (and myself and everyone else) a ficlet inspired by your ask.
I think that scenario could make a good one-shot, but for me it doesn't have enough stakes to write as a One Difference story. Plus, it wouldn't be possible without several important differences established at the get-go, not just one:
Donna can't or won't go to the concert herself for some reason; remember, the point of that storyline is her choosing whom to go to the concert with since Eric is unavailable.
Fez and Caroline's mutual romantic interest and awkwardness in engaging with each other would have to be reworked so Donna doesn't feel compelled to give them the concert tickets.
Jackie would have to want to go to the concert despite Donna not being with her. Jackie's goal in that episode is "to win". What drives her in that episode is a combination of ego, greed, and the validation that Donna would enjoy her company best out of her, Hyde, and Kelso.
With all those variables taken care of, the way I'd approach the story is the following.
I would take Donna having learned about Jackie and Hyde's kiss out of the equation. Jackie and Hyde's Veteran's Day date isn't a secret. Everyone at the Formans' BBQ, including Kelso and Fez, heard Hyde tell Jackie they were going "on a freakin' date."
The mystery for Jackie and Hyde's friends is what happened during that date. Since Jackie and Hyde don't have a follow-up date and essentially go back to status quo, mystery solved: the date was a dud.
Mystery solved for everyone but perceptive Donna.
She spots Hyde's uneasiness around Jackie. For a month, he's been working on shutting himself off from his romantic feelings toward Jackie -- as well as the resentment he's experiencing from her having pursued him so long only for him to be left "holding the bag" (i.e. be the one with unrequited feelings he never wanted, that developed against his will for a variety of reasons, some of which he'd done his best to avoid -- but Jackie's ignoring of his no and his boundaries made that impossible).
Donna tries to get the truth out of Hyde the direct route. No go, but she figured that was a long shot. So she gives him the concert ticket, knowing he wouldn't miss seeing Led Zeppelin for anything.
Even if Jackie's in the arena seat next to him.
Donna gives Jackie the other ticket without Hyde's knowledge. When Jackie learns Donna isn't going with her, Jackie hands back the ticket and says, "Oh, forget it. Just scalp the ticket and give me half of whatever you get."
Donna: Okay, but I gave the other ticket to Buddy Morgan.
Upon hearing this, Jackie snatches back the ticket. Going to a concert with Buddy will up her social status in school. Donna tells her, though, that he won't be taking her since it's not a date. She'll have to get to the concert on her own.
When Hyde and Jackie discover each other at the concert, Hyde curses under his breath.
Jackie: You're not Buddy Morgan.
Hyde: No crap.
Jackie: Ugh. Did he sell the ticket to you? He's rich! He doesn't need the money -- unless his parents cut him off. What a nightmare.
Hyde: You're tellin' me.
Jackie: What do you know about being cut off financially? You never had any money to begin with.
Hyde: Back to normal. Great. [He thinks: Jackie acting like the snobby, judgmental Jackie he first encountered will help him get over him faster.] But that's not what I meant, man. If you ruin this concert for me, I'm gonna-
Jackie: If I ruin this concert for you? Steven, you've been a big fat jerk to me all month. If anyone's going to ruin anything, it's you ruining tonight for me.
Hyde: I haven't been a jerk.
Jackie: So you've just been being yourself? That's a relief.
Hyde: Uh ... okay.
Jackie: Don't you understand? It means I didn't make a mistake. I was right when I said I felt nothing when we kissed. I already had one terrible boyfriend. I don't need another, so I'm glad there was no -- [gestures with her hand in the air] -- spark between us.
Hyde tries to follow-up on what Jackie just said, but the concert starts. They spend the first half ignoring each other, but the music's so good they can't help but connect through it: glancing at each other and smiling during certain songs, dancing (i.e. swaying) at the same time, etc.
Afterward, on their way out of the arena, Jackie says, "I knew you could dance, but I didn't know you swayed."
Hyde: I don't sway.
Jackie: You swayed for most of the concert!
Hyde: That's called rockin' out.
Jackie: Looks like swaying to me.
Hyde: You should get yourself some freakin' glasses then.
Jackie: Excuse me?
Hyde: Nothing.
In the parking lot, Jackie asks how Hyde's getting back to the Formans'.
Hyde: Bus.
Jackie: It's almost midnight.
Hyde: So?
Jackie: The bus hardly ever shows up around this time of night, and you'll be fighting for a spot on it with a bunch of bus-dwellers.
Hyde: Guess so. [He begins to walk away from her.]
Jackie: Steven wait! I'll drive you home.
Hyde: No, thanks. Wouldn't want you to have to spend any more time with me then you have to, and I sure as hell don't want to spend more time with you.
Jackie: God, you really are such a jerk! Just let me drive you home. Maybe that'll make you hate me a little less.
Hyde: Who said I hated you?
Jackie: You don't have to say it. You're showing me.
Hyde: Look, I don't hate you. I just can't stand bein' around you.
Jackie: Why? I thought we were past that.
A high and/or drunken stranger passes by them, knocking Jackie into Hyde.
Jackie and Hyde: Hey! Watch where you're going!
Jackie [shoving herself away from Hyde]: Watch where you put your hands.
Hyde: Watch where you put your body.
Jackie: That guy pushed me into you. You could've stepped back and let me drop to the pavement.
Hyde [scoffing]: Right.
Jackie: Right. ... So are you going to let me drive you home or not?
Hyde: Whatever.
But Hyde walks with Jackie to her car and gets into the passenger seat. They don't talk at all during the drive to the Formans'. She pulls into the Formans' driveway. He gets out of the car and halfway closes the passenger-side door before saying a quick, "Thanks."
Jackie watches Hyde enter the Formans' backyard and disappear down the basement stairs. She says, "Thanks," back, although he can't hear her. He didn't let her fall while Michael, in the past, had been the one to shove her aside to save his own skin. She begins to suspect Hyde's attitude change toward her isn't random.
The next day, Jackie and Hyde both confront Donna in the basement about pairing them up at the concert. Donna tells them she's sick of their bickering, especially Hyde's.
Hyde: Me? I'm just tryin' to live my life without dealin' with Jackie's B.S.
Jackie: My ... what is wrong with you? What did I do?
Hyde: Let's focus on who we're really pissed at, man: Donna.
Jackie: No, Donna's right. You've been treating me like garbage since our date.
Hyde: Hey, I warned you a hundred times about who I am. Not my fault you ignored it.
Jackie: This is not who you are.
Hyde: That's not what you said last night.
Jackie: I was angry at you last night ... and you've been angry at me for the last month! Oh, my God, you felt something during our kiss, didn't you?
Hyde [incredulous]: No! Donna, tell her she's nuts.
Donna: Hold on, you two kissed?
Jackie: Yeah. It was really hot, but it made me realize I'm not in love with Steven. I was idolizing him, just like you told me.
Donna: You two kissed?
Hyde: Who cares? It meant nothin'.
Jackie: It was very special, actually. I'm grateful you gave me a chance after all your rejection, and I'm sorry I don't have true feelings for you. That doesn't mean I don't care about your feelings.
This conversation is hitting too close to home for Hyde. Jackie's honesty also hurts. Hyde needs to end this interaction and establish a new status quo between himself and Jackie, one where he doesn't have to have conversations like this. Especially in front of a witness.
Hyde: That's cool. Alls I got to say about our date is you clearly got no clue how I felt 'cause you never listen to what I freakin' say. If you did, we never would've ended up on the hood of your car. We're never gonna be friends, but if some dillhole crashes into you and I'm around, I won't let you hit pavement.
Hyde leaves and locks himself in his room. Jackie gazes after him, sadly, while Donna looks at Jackie questioningly.
Jackie: Poor Steven. ... He's in love with me.

The Boys Next Door
a/n: I have no idea where this came from. enjoy some smut and some other college!Harry.
You lived in a college town, and your parents were landlords for many college students. They owned a few different properties along one of the street close to campus. You were twenty-one and going into your senior year. You didn’t mind going to school where you grew up. You went somewhere else your first year, just to get out of town for a while, but eventually coming home was the best choice. Plus, you got to live off campus in one of your parent’s apartments with your friends. You were having a great time.
They wanted to go on vacation, do a little traveling this summer, so they put you in charge of one of their smaller properties. The home you were in this summer was converted into two apartments, side by side. Your parents had someone else to run the larger properties, but they had a great deal of trust in you. You happily accepted, especially since you could take a cut of the rent as pay. You also weren’t too upset because the boys moving in next door were really cute. Soon to be seniors as well. They were international students, and as much as they liked going home, they were still college students. It was easier to save up the airfare for the holidays, rather than to fly home for the summer.
You’d be in your apartment alone. Your friends all had to go home to their families and jobs, not that you minded. You loved being crazy with them, but the alone time would be great. You put the keys to the other apartment outside under the mat, and emailed them to let them know. You also left instructions on rules for living there. Your parents weren’t in the business of dealing with idiots.
It was a beautiful day out, so you decide to set up the small inflatable pool out back, and throw on a two piece to sunbathe in. You get your lawn chair, put some sunscreen on, and dip your feet into the pool. You crack a hard seltzer open and throw your shades on. You sigh with happiness and relaxation.
The boys, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson, all show up to the apartment. They find the keys and head inside. They get all their things moved in and wheel their grill out back. There was no fence between the two sides, but it was still clear that it wasn’t an overly shared space.
“Oh shit!” Niall says, pointing to you. “Is that our landlord?”
“I think so.” Louis says.
“We should go introduce ourselves then.” Harry says. “After all, she could be hungry for somethin’ off the grill.”
The three walk over to you. You had your headphones in and you had fallen asleep.
“Excuse us.” Louis says. You don’t move. “Think she’s asleep…”
Harry rolls his eyes and nudges your shoulder.
“Huh?!” Your eyes snap open and you flinch when you see three very good looking men standing above you. “Um…can I help you?” You stand up and look for your cover up, but you never brought it out. Your two piece was strapless, and a little revealing.
“Sorry to wake yeh, I’m Harry.” You shake his hand. “This is Niall and Louis, we’re your tenants.”
“Oh!” You laugh. “Hi, it’s nice to meet you guys. I’ve seen you around though, you’re all on the soccer team, right?”
“That’s right.” Niall says.
“We were just about to fire up the grill, wanna join?” Louis asks.
“Sure! I actually have some fresh lemonade in the fridge inside, I’ll bring it over.”
“Sounds good.” Harry says.
They go back over to the grill and you go inside. You grab a large t-shirt to throw on, and the jug of lemonade out of the fridge. You grab some solo cups as well, and you head over to their side.
“I don’t wanna be a Debby Downer, but my parents wanted me to remind you guys that you’re getting a discounted rate because you agreed to mow the lawn, and shovel once winter comes. Everything you need is in the shed.” You point to it. “The keys for it are inside a combination box. The combo’s on the paper I left in the kitchen.”
“Thanks, yeah, we found that. No worries, the lawn will look perfect.” Niall assures you and you smile at him.
“Any other official business? I’d like to add some vodka to this lemonade.” Harry says, shaking the cold bottle in his hand.
“Nope, that’s it for now. Please, make the drinks.” You say.
“What can I make yeh, love?” Louis asks.
“I’d love a cheeseburger, please and thank you.” He nods to you and Harry hands you your drink. “Thanks.”
“So, you’re all alone in there this summer?” Niall asks.
“Mhm. My friends will come up for a weekend here and there, but I don’t mind it. This is my favorite apartment of the ones my parents own, I’m excited to be alone in it for a bit.”
“Well, if you ever get lonely, just give us a call.” Harry winks and you blush as you bite the rim of your cup.
You all enjoy mini BBQ and get to know each other more. You all talk about your majors and how excited you all were to be seniors.
“We’re gonna head down to the pub later if you’d like to join us.” Niall says.
“That sounds great!”
“What’s your number, we can text you when we’re ready.” Harry says. You hand him your phone and he puts his number in.
You head into your apartment to shower and wash all the sunscreen off. You throw on a crop top and pair of shorts, and do your make up. Harry texts you when it’s time, and you walk downtown with them to the bar. You all find a booth, and he happens to be the one to sit next to you. Niall grabs the first round of beers.
“What do I owe you?”
“As if I would ever make a girl pay for her drinks.” Niall scoffs. “You don’t ever have to worry about that with us, Y/N.”
“Oh! That’s really nice of you.”
You all clink your glasses, and take a swig of your drinks. They ask you questions about what it was like growing up in the area, and you talk about what’s changed and what’s stayed the same. Eventually, you get a pretty good buzz going, and it makes you want to dance to the music playing. There were plenty of people out on the dance floor already.
“Do you guys wanna dance?”
“Sure!” They all say at the same time.
The four of you make your way to the dance floor, and you start dancing. You all giggle and have a great time. You got a little more drunk than you thought, and it hit you like a ton of bricks when you left the bar at closing.
“I’ll never understand how these places close at one in the morning. We’d just be gettin’ started back home.” Louis laughs.
Harry looks at you and sees you sort of struggling to walk.
“Want a piggy back ride?” He offers.
“Seriously?” You slur.
“Sure, come on.”
You hope onto his back and you giggle as your eyes start to droop. Yup, way too drunk.
“M’just gonna get her settled, I’ll be home in a minute.” He tells the two of them as he takes your key.
“My room’s upstairs.” You mumble and he hums his response. He pushes the door open and sets you down on your bed.
“Thanks.” You smile at him. “Tonight was fun. This’ll be a great summer.” You yawn.
“Yeah, it will be.”
Harry goes down to your kitchen to get you a glass of water. When he returns you’re passed out on your stomach. He leaves the water on your nightstand, and heads out. Niall and Louis were on the couch, eating some cold pizza, when he got back.
“She alright?” Louis asks.
“Yeah, passed out already. I left her some water.” Harry grabs a slice of pizza and sits down with them. “She’s cute, I like her.” He says with a full mouth.
“You should ask her out then.” Niall says. “She’s a lot of fun so far.”
“Too soon for that. I need to play it cool.”
“You’re too shy for your own good.” Louis says.
//
You spend a lot of time with the guys over the next couple of weeks. You go out with them to the bar quite a bit, and you all share many meals. Your favorite thing to do was happen to be outside when Harry mowed the lawn. He would do it shirtless, and he loved when you’d bring him out something cold to drink. You also liked watching them get into little games of soccer.
Sometimes at night you would go over there and watch them play video games, or maybe they’d come over to watch a movie. You found yourself to have gotten the closest with Harry.
Harry: too hot in my room…2:02AM
You: no fan? 2:10AM
Harry: it broke :( 2:12AM
You: I have ac…2:13AM
Harry: is that an invitation? ;p 2:14AM
You: if you want it to be ;p 2:15AM
You slip out of bed, and stop to look at yourself in the mirror. You usually slept naked…you sigh and throw on a large bed shirt, but that’s it. It covered everything just fine. You go downstairs and open the back door for Harry. He was only wearing shorts.
“Hi.” He smiles.
“Hi.” You smile back. “What are Niall and Louis doing?”
“Oh, both of their fans work just fine. I’ve been too lazy to go to the store, but I suppose suffering in sweat just isn’t worth it anymore.”
“Well, my room’s nice and cool, so come on up.”
You and Harry go up the stairs up to your room, and you close the door behind you.
“Oh my god.” He moans as he stands in front of the A/C. “Now this is livin’.” You can’t help but giggle at him. He watches as you reach into your dresser for a pair of shorts. You wiggle them up your body. “Were you not wearin’ anything under that before?”
“Nope.” You grin and sit on your bed. You pat the spot next to you.
“I can just sleep on the floor…”
“Don’t be silly, bed’s plenty big for the both of us.”
He nods and gets on with you. You both lay and face each other.
“Comfy.” He says.
“Mhm.” You push some hair away from his face. “You have nicest hair, have I ever told you that?”
“No. In fact, you could stand to compliment me a lot more.”
“Is that so?”
“Mhm. It’s the least you could do in exchange for all the free alcohol we give yeh.”
“Very true, okay, well, I also like your tattoos.” Your fingertips lightly graze his arm.
“You do?”
“Yeah, they’re cool.”
“What else do you like about me?” His leg gentle slides between yours.
“You have a great sense of humor, and you’re just really nice.”
“You’re nice too, and you’re really pretty.” Your cheeks flush, you were thankful it was dark. His leg inches up a little further between yours. “Sexy, actually.”
“God, I think you’re hot as fuck, Harry.”
“You do?”
“Mhm.” You adjust yourself on his leg, and move closer to him, your faces only inches apart now.
“Can I kiss you?”
“Please.”
He cups your cheek and pulls you into him, his mouth slotting over yours. Your eyes flutter closed as you sink further into the kiss. You open your mouth for him and he doesn’t waste any time getting his tongue on yours. You groan against him, and grind yourself on his thigh.
“I wanna fuck you so bad.” He groans.
“Okay.”
“What?” He pulls away. “Really? Just like that?”
“Sure, why not? I want it, can’t you tell?”
“Sometimes it’s not about bein’ able to tell…you wanna have sex with me?”
“Yes, I do.” You turn and reach into your night table to grab a condom. You place it on top of the table for when you need it. “I’m on the pill too, but I think using a condom is for the best.”
“Agreed.”
He moves to hover over you, and starts kissing you again.
“How long, ngh, how long have you wanted to fuck me for?”
“Since we met.” He mumbles as he starts to suck on your neck.
“Fuck, why didn’t you?”
“I was tryin’ to play it cool.” He chuckles against you.
He motions to have you sit up to take your shirt off, and he marvels at your breasts. He cups both of them in his large hands. He tweaks your nipples and leans in to suck on one of them. Your head rolls back as he kneads the other one.
“Harry…I wanna, I want you to…”
“Need my mouth somewhere else, angel?”
“Please.”
He gets between your legs and tugs your shorts down. You were glistening. He licks his lips and dives in. He licks a flat stripe from your center up to your clit, and circles the tip of his tongue around you before sucking on it. You gasp when he does so, and your hands fly to his hair to grip on. Your hips buck up when you feel two of his fingers slip inside you. He pumps in and out as he continues to work your clit with his mouth. You were panting, your body had never felt so good before.
“Holy fuck! Oh my god, don’t stop, Harry!” You moan out.
He pumps fast, brushing your g-spot. It was all too much, and you release around his fingers. He retracts them sucks them into his mouth.
“Tastes even better than I thought it would.”
“Get the condom on, now.”
He smirks and grabs the foil packet. He gets it open with his teeth, slides his shorts down. His hard clock slaps against his stomach and your jaw drops.
“Oh my god.” You say under your breath. “Harry, you’re so…big.”
“I know.” He mumbles as he slides the condom down his shaft. “Don’t be nervous, I won’t hurt you.”
“M’not worried about that.”
He leans in and lines himself up with you and slowly pushes inside. Your head rolls back into the pillow as you feel him stretch you out. Your nails press into his shoulders. Once he’s all the way in he gives you some time to adjust.
“Alright?”
“Mhm, you can move.”
He starts with slow thrusts, rocking in and out of you. You can’t help the moans that leave your lips. You had never felt so good before. You wrap your legs around his waist to pull him closer.
“Go harder, Harry. I want you to make the bed shake.”
“Fuck.” He groans, and does as you say.
He grips your legs and puts them over his shoulders. He thrusts in hard and fast, and the bed does start to shake. His thumb finds your clit, and he rubs it furiously.
“Fuck, oh fuck, that’s it, oh my god!” He had you screaming. “Harry!” You cry out as you come around his cock.
He fucks you through it and comes to his own release, spilling into the condom. He collapses on top of you, and you kiss his neck over and over. He pulls himself up and gives you a kiss on the lips before pulling out.
“Where’s your trash, angel?”
“In that corner, next to my desk.”
He hums his response and gets up to throw it out. He hears you get off the bed and turns to look at you.
“Just going to use the bathroom, get comfy.” You smile.
He gets back on your bed and waits for you. When you come back you don’t even both with a shirt.
“I like to sleep naked, that okay?”
“You don’t see me wearin’ anything do you?” He smirks.
You get on the bed and lay your head on his chest. He puts his arm around you and rubs your back.
“That was, uh, really something.”
“Felt good?”
“Really good.”
“You took it really well. You were so wet, felt good for me too.” He kisses your hair line.
“You can come here to beat the heat any time you want.”

doesn’t have to be a love story
〉yangyang x fem!reader
〉highschool au
〉word count 3.7k
〉warnings swearing, alcohol, vaping, violence? (not really)
〉yangyang and y/n have been close for a long time but it didn't really make sense. those two didn’t mix, especially if there was no romance involved. this is why their friends found it so hard to believe that this wouldn’t end in a relationship, it won't right?
“Yangyang it's pretty obvious you like her” It's not the first time he's heard those words, and he's certain it won't be the last. I suppose it was strange around here for guys and girls to be friends without a relationship. But that's all it was, only a friendship.
“It's not like that” He groaned and turned his attention to the block of wood he was supposed to be cutting for his hard material class, so far it was not coming along how he wanted. But he didn't feel discouraged, Xiaojuns one was way worse.
“Why don't you just say something?” Xiaojun was pretty reluctant with this whole Y/N and Yangyang thing, convincing himself that they were the end game. But in Yangyangs eyes it just wasn't like that.
You two became friends in your first year of high school after being sat at the same table in math. You found joy in his jokes about the teacher and he thought it was funny he had to help you with your math every five minutes. Admittedly he wasn't the best at it either.
Although the constant comments from his friends regarding the relationship between you two got annoying, he understood where they were coming from. He had never had this close of a bond with a girl before, especially not with a girl and it didn't lead anymore. But you were different. You were kind, funny, you understood him, you listened and even cooked for him when his parents went away for the weekend. Even though he loved his group of friends, they were ‘the boys’. It was difficult talking to them about things, it made it hard to talk about emotions or what he enjoyed in fear of not fitting in. He was probably being ridiculous but either way, it didn't matter, because he had you to express his feelings with anyway.
What Yangyang didn't know was that you were also dealing with similar comments from your friends. They were suspicious about the amount of time you two spent together. Even after you explained to them, several times, that he was just a friend nothing more. They insisted that you make a move. It made sense to them, you were always complaining about being single, how you wanted someone in your life. The way you would describe the person you wanted, someone funny, caring, passionate and stood up for what they believed in. All those things were Yangyang,
But that's not how you saw it, if you and him had gone out, it just wouldn't have worked. The friendship you had was too special to risk that. You will always be grateful for the late nights spent with him, only heading home when your mum calls you telling you she's going to bed.
Maybe it was because you saw a different side of him. Yangyang, the class clown, who ditches class, doesn’t hand in homework and writes rap lyrics on his tests. But the Yangyang you knew was sensitive, he took into consideration his surroundings and how he affected others and despite what many people think, he was intelligent. The conversations you two had under the stars never left your mind.
The sun was too hot for you to be stuck in such an uncomfortable uniform for any longer than you had to, yet Yangyang was nowhere to be seen. You agreed to meet him outside the gym after the last period since that's where his class would be, and he still managed to be late. This isn't surprising, he had PE. Five minutes after the bell goes, he and Ten finally pile out of the gym, the rest of their class nowhere to be seen.
“Hey Y/N” Ten skips over with Yangyang trailing behind. He pulls you into a hug, you watch Yangyang roll his eyes from over Tens shoulder, causing you to laugh. “What's funny?”
Ten pulls away to look at you two but no one makes a move to say anything. “Well have fun on your date you two” Before you can get a word in to defend yourself he leaves, slapping Yangyang on the ass for good measure before dashing towards the front of the school.
“They’re still going on about that?” You and Yangyang finally make your way out the back of the school to start the long journey home.
“Yeah don't worry about it, you know what they're like” You hum in agreement, not wanting to dwell on the awkward subject. Although you were both forced to hear these remarks every day, it was a different story when the other was with you. It just made things weird. Which caused even more confusion, you both strongly denied that you had any feelings, if so why did it make things awkward?
“Why did you get held in any way?”
“Me and Ten kept getting balls stuck in the roof so we had to pack up”
“On accident?”
“Oh yeah definitely on ‘accident’. And you know what Mrs Hooper is like, doesn't like to have fun” You let out a laugh and rub your eyes, you forgot what he was like. You continue walking towards your usual hang out spot, the park down the road from his house. Stopping at the corner store first, getting drinks and chips to snack on.
“These pringles taste like ass” You look down in disbelief at the whole container of BBQ pringles that you had just bought after Yangyangs suggestion. “Why did you tell me to get these?”
“Well I think they're nice” He reaches over the table and snatches the container away from you.
“You baited me into buying you chips!”
“Not my fault you're slow” He gives you a cheeky smile and downs a few pringles followed by his redbull.
“Unbelievable”
“What's your speech on?” You almost jump out of your seat, not expecting Yangyang to come whisper such things in your ear.
“I haven't decided yet, I've just been playing the snake game” You look around the room to see where the teacher is, yet you can't see him anywhere, the reason why Yangyang is standing beside you.
“I know I've been watching you” He sits down in the empty chair next to you. “You could always write about me you know?”
“Yangyang, I love you” He leans forward, resting his head on his hand and batters his eyelashes. “But no”
“Tsk your lost” As the teacher walks into the room he quickly stands to head back to his original seat across the class.
“Yangyang, what are you doing out of your seat?” Mr Smith, a usually pretty chill teacher, still didn’t appreciate people mucking around when he's gone.
“Y/N needed help, sir” Your eyes go wide and you stare down Yangyang, he has the biggest smile across his face.
“Why didn't you say so? I'll be there soon Miss L/N '' You turn and mouth to Yangyang.
‘I hate you’
“Aren't you cold?” Yangyang asks, you can hear in his voice that he himself is shivering from the cold, despite the fact he has a jacket on.
“A bit but what am I supposed to do about it?”
“I got an idea” You expect him to offer you his jacket, or maybe his sweatshirt. But instead, you just get pain.
“Ow! Yangyang, did you just punch my leg?” You reach down and rub the spot he just hit, it wasn't that painful but you liked to play it up.
“It'll burn up now, you're welcome” Even though it's pitch black, you just know that he has the biggest shit-eating grin on his face.
“I think I should head home now, we have school tomorrow” You stand up and pat down your slightly damp leggings from the dewy grass. Yangyang also scrambles to his feet.
“Wait if this is because of the punch I’m sorry”
“No, what the, it's just I have to walk home and it's already so dark” You pick up your bag and head towards the footpath out of the park. His house is on the way towards your house so you always end up dropping him home first,
“I don't wanna leave yet, my parents aren't home, it's scary living by yourself” You stop in your tracks, unable to believe what he just said.
“If your parents' aren't home, then why have we been sitting out in the cold for the past 3 hours?” You hear the rustle of his jacket, indicating he simply just shrugged. “Oh my god, Yangyang. Do you want me to stay with you tonight?”
“Yes please,” You don't mind the idea of spending all night with him, especially if it means you don't have to walk all the way home. As you turn into his street you realize you've ever actually been to his house before, despite the countless times he showed up at your door. You were caught slightly off guard at how nice the place was, you don't know what you were expecting but something about Yangyang didn't exactly scream fancy.
“Wow your place is really nice Yangyang” You comment as you take off your shoes at the door, the warmth comforting from the chill you had gotten.
“Thanks” Yangyang heads straight to the kitchen and you follow, unsure what to do with yourself. “Do you want anything to eat? We should probably make tea”
“Well, what is there?” He walks around the counter and opens up the fridge.
“Not a lot” You move around to look over his shoulder and are disappointed at what you see.
“Why is there only grapes?”
“I don't know, grapes are good.” He grabs out the grapes and starts popping them into his mouth, unfazed by the fact that there's there's no real food in his fridge, apart from various condiments.
“How long have you been home alone for?”
“A couple of nights”
“And you've been eating grapes the whole time?” He nods and continues eating. “Should I make some proper food?”
“Yeah, I can't cook”
“Pasta?”
“Yeah but I don't like onion or garlic, or tomatoes really” You sigh and rub your face, this was going to be a long night.
You and Yangyang weren't the best at being organised, meaning you left his house at eight am, it took forty-five minutes to walk to school, and school started at eight-thirty. Luckily for you, you had art first, meaning there was no real pressure to get to school on time. Not so lucky for Yangyang who had studies of society. You get to school and part ways. You know you'll see him throughout the day but your conversations are never as good when other people are around.
You get to the art room and the teacher says good morning, no comment about being late although you know you'll hear all about it from Ten when you see him sitting by himself.
“Morning,” You say as you drop your bag down. “Where's Winwin?”
“Sick apparently” He shrugs and focuses on the work in front of him, carefully shading in the portrait of himself with charcoal. “And someone had to leave me all alone this morning”
“It was fifteen minutes” You roll your eyes and wander off to get your art from the folder up the front, it's not your best piece but it'll get you a pass. A portrait of Harry Styles. “I can't believe they let you do yourself for this”
“Why would I not be allowed to?” You sit down next to him and start working right away.
“The project was a charcoal portrait of someone you look up to or who inspires you”
“Yeah, I look up to myself” You laugh at his confidence, something you wish you had. You can't blame him though, the photo he chose is very flattering. And Ten is talented, it's coming out like a masterpiece.
“You like shit by the way” Ten is known for not holding back his comments, but even then he always catches you off guard.
“Thanks”
“You know what I mean”
“Yeah yeah. I stayed at Yangyangs last night and didn't have any of my stuff” Ten groans and turns in his seat to look at you deeply.
“Y/N this is frustrating. Do you like him or not?”
“We've been over this a hundred times Ten, no I don't like him” Ten Reaches forward and presses the back of his hand onto your cheek.
“Then why is your face heating up?” Your eyes go wide and you rest your head on your arms face down on the desk. You hear Ten laughs as he begins rubbing circles into your back. “You're allowed to have feelings for him you know?”
“But I just don't want to ruin our friendship, he's special to me”
“So you do like him?”
“Ugh, Ten I don't know!” Your voice is louder than expected and the class turns to look at you, embarrassment bubbles up more in your stomach as you stare down at your desk.
“Y/N, Chittaphon. Quiet down.
“Sorry Sir”
“Yangyang, why are you fifteen minutes late to class?”
“Sorry Miss, I had a guest round this morning and lost track of time”
“Ok just make sure you catch up, get Kun to explain the work to you” She sighs and flicks him away with his wrist, he hurriedly moves to the back of the class where Kun is sat, as well as a couple other kids.
“I thought you were home alone, who did you have round?” Yangyang is surprised Kun even heard what he said to the teacher, but apparently, it's one of his many talents.
“Y/N stayed '' He immediately regrets saying anything but he knows he won't be able to lie for long either way.
“How was it?”
“Fine” Kun looks over expecting more of a reply than that. “I don't know man, she made me pasta and we watched a movie. Nothing happened.”
“She made you food? She must be whipped.”
“What?”
“In creative catering, she wouldn't even let me try her icing to see what it was supposed to taste like. Mine ended up being sour.”
“Ok, so she cooked for me? That doesn't mean anything”
“Hmm sure,” Kun turns back to his history assignment.
“Wait tell me what it means”
“God, are you that thick?” When Yangyang just stares at him blankly he drops his head. “She likes you”
“She does?”
ten: did yangyang talk to you this morning
ten: about anything
ten: specifically y/n?
kun: Maybe? Why? Did she talk to you about anything
kun: He just told me she cooked for him
ten: y/n never cooks for anyone
ten: did he not pick up on that?
kun: Ikr
kun: He seemed happy to hear that she likes him
ten: should i tell her that he likes her as well?
kun: Go for it
kun: Nothing will happen otherwise
The next day you managed to get to class on time, although you can't say the same for Yangyang. You walk into a semi-full class and head to the back to join Ten and Lucas, accounting was boring and you never understood anything but Lucas managed to make things bearable. Ten, well he mainly made things worse.
“Y/N, exciting news” Was the first thing said to you by Ten which usually meant it wasn't good news. You groan as you sit down, already feeling defeated.
“What is it?” Lucas seems more excited than you to hear about this.
“Yangyang finally admitted his feelings for Y/N”
“What?” You sit up straight, unable to believe the words you're hearing. Ten has a grin and Lucas is laughing harder than you've ever seen him laugh before. “Are you serious?”
“What's wrong with that?”
“Ughh” You rub your eyes hard enough you're sure that they're red. “I just, I don't know”
“You like him don't you? Isn't this a good thing?” Ten has gotten a bit more serious, not expecting you to be so upset by this news.
“Yes but, I don't know, can we talk about something else please?”
You're also surprised at this news, you never thought you liked Yangyang. In fact, you were so certain you didn't like him. But finding out that maybe you do? It changes everything. Him liking you back only makes things more real. You would think you'd be happy at this news but you don't know. That's the only way to describe things right now. Confused. Yes, you like him, he likes you back. That should be the end of the story. But maybe not. Things are different and you don't know why. It's impossible for you to sleep with all these thoughts rushing. It's even harder for you to go to school without your friends bombarding you with a million questions about Yangyang. You wouldn't mind if it was something else, but you're so unsure of your feelings you don't know how to answer. You're certain Yangyang would have been told you like him as well, Yangyang has more confidence than you and you wouldn't be surprised if he made a move. The thought of him doing so makes you anxious, you don't want him to confess, you don't want to say yes, you don't want it.
Your phone lights up the darkroom. A text from Yangyang, a perfect distraction from your sleepless night.
yangx2: hey
yangx2: wanna go for a walk after school tomorrow?
yangx2: i need to get some supplies for class
y/n: sorry i’m not feeling very well
y/n: idk if i’ll be at school tomorrow
yangx2: damn :/
yangx2: get better soon
yangx2: i have to go with lucas :(
y/n: haha you’ll be fine
You didn't show at school for the rest of the week, being too ‘sick’ to do so. Every time a text would come through from Yangyang asking how things were, the conversation would die as quickly as it started thanks to your dry replies. You didn't know how to feel, didn't know what to do. Ignoring him was the only way for you to process your emotions right now. You just needed time. You couldn't be off of school forever, but thankfully it was over soon. It gave you two weeks to sort your shit out. During those two weeks, Yangyang stopped reaching out. You felt bad for giving him false hope but you knew this was what was best. Well, at least you thought so. Maybe things would have worked out in a different life. But right now, it wasn't the right time.
When school started again you were nervous, it was a fresh start. You hoped time just sorted things out. You walked up to the front of the school where you usually meet with everyone. Ten arrived first, then Xiaojun, Winwin next, Kun and Yangyang arrived together and Lucas was probably off at the skatepark vaping with Hendery. Surprisingly things went well, too well.
Everything was back to normal, almost normal. It wasn't awkward with Yangyang, but things weren't right. And you could tell. You two were not as close, he didn't come to annoy you during English, or invite you to his hard materials class to bully Xiaojun. He wasn't Yangyang around you anymore. You were scared you ruined things but maybe he just needed time as well. You hoped that was all, you didn't want to lose someone like him.
The sleepout at Lucas’ you were all hanging out in a heated up way too quickly, with a mixture of sweaty drunk guys and various flavours of vape clouding the room. You couldn't bear to be in there any longer, deciding to slip out the back and sit on the deck outside. The air was harsh but it was a nice contrast to the hot smoke from the room within. Your cheeks were burning hot so the crisp air made it relaxing. You weren't out there for very long until another person escaped the room as well, Yangyang.
“Hey,” You say as he sits down next to you, it wasn't that you didn't want to see him, but it was the first time you two had been alone for a while, especially since he was a bit tipsy.
“You ok?”
“Yeah, it was just hot in there. Are you ok?”
“I'm great.” He looks at you as smiles brightly and you laugh, you miss seeing his face more often.
“Oh yeah,” You entertain his drunk ways and talk to him like a child. “What's got you in such a good mood?”
“I was talking to Nina on the phone”
“Nina?”
“The girl I like remember, I'm gonna ask her out soon” Your heart sinks and you start to feel sick, although you're not sure if it's from the alcohol or this news. Jealousy spikes within you but you don't know why you have no right to be upset when you pushed him away. You feel stupid for believing that he ever liked you. Ten was just a troll wasn't he? He got you to ghost one of your closest friends who wasn't even interested in you. Thinking back to it, Yangyang always showed signs of liking Nina that he never did to you. Calling her pretty, defending her, buying her food. Yangyang never did that for you despite the fact you were so close. Your heart breaks, even more, knowing you never wanted it in the first place.
“Oh” You try to hide your pain through a smile, he would have been able to pick up if his senses were not blurred.
“Yeah she's great”
“I'm glad to hear that Yangyang, you deserve someone like her in your life”
“Hmm” It turns awkward, you don't know what else to say. Instead, you just stand and head inside. You need another drink to get through the night.
“You ok? I went to look for you at Lucas’ the other night but Ten said you left” Yangyang took you off guard as he pulled up a chair to sit by you in English.
“Oh yeah, I just wasn't feeling well” It wasn't lying, you just didn't say why you didn't say why. If he asks you'll say that you ate something funny. But in reality, you felt awful because of him. You swallow hard and bring yourself to say the next words. “Hows Nina?”
“Oh, I finally did it” His smile is bigger than anything you've ever seen on him, his eyes brighter than ever before. And it suits him. Being happy suits him. You know you'll never be able to bring him that, but Nina can. Nina suits him.
“Congratulations, I'm proud of you Yangyang” It hurts you to say that but you need to. You have to because you can't be angry at him, you can't. You left him. You ghosted him. Even if he didn't like you, it was a shitty thing to do as a friend. You thought you were so lovable that he had to have a crush on you, but in reality, it was nothing more than a friendship. Not everything turns into love, does it?

africa jul 19
wow lol it’s taken me 2 years to actually put this post together. a LOT has changed since then and it makes me immensely happy to recognize how lucky we were that we’d had 2 insane years of travelling right before the pandemic hit. but this post is not to dwell on that, so let’s get on with it!!
this was our amazing 2019 africa trip~
jun 30, 19 ••• we make our way from hong kong to the netherlands on klm airlines. i distinctly remember how impressed i was with the quality of service and the comfort of the 12ish hour flight. after around 16 hours of commute, we just want to stay in and chill, so we order room service and call it a night early. i recall wearing a fun t-shirt that read, “not to be rude, but shut the fuck up” which i personally find hilarious and endearing, but which made the guy at the front desk quite uncomfortable. lollll oops!
vimeo
jul 1, 19 ••• yay! we had a full day alone in amsterdam. we (i) decided to walk from the hotel to the town center, because it’s fun experience new cities by exploring them on foot!! why not? you come across many things that you just couldn’t have planned to find.
look how beautiful the canals in amsterdam are! anywhere you turn, it’s picturesque.
we had lunch at wagamama because i saw that the avant garde vegan, gaz oakley, had done a collaboration with them at some point, so there are some guaranteed vegan options. we then walk around the bloemenmarkt and find our way to the cannabis college, which had 2 verdampers for rent! yesssss! i was so happy.
we explored and walked around more, then stopped by a coffee shop to smoke a bit more. there was a lovely vegan cafe right next door, which i’d been eyeing when we went in to smoke, so we had a top up on coffee and matcha there. we saw a cute frenchie across the road and missed the dogs so...
vimeo
we had dinner at this place called cafe frijdag (which means Friday!) which was delicious! so happy that amsterdam had vegan options for me
jul 2, 19 ••• we got up bright and early to meet my parents for breakfast and we go to the airport to catch our flight to kigali. about 10 hours later, we were buying sim cards at the kigali airport. we then checked in to the radisson for the night, and it was feeling very surreal to be in africa. i remember feeling anxious.
jul 3, 19 ••• today started on a somber note. we went to the kigali genocide memorial. i cried a lot, especially at the exhibit with the photographs of only a fraction of the victims during that time.
then we drove at turtle speed to our next hotel, which was a loooong long way away. we arrived at the lake kivu serena hotel in time for a very late lunch. the cuisine here consists of rice, tortilla-like wraps and papadum-esque crispy rolls.
this fruit tastes disgusting... it looks like a tomato but isn’t sweet at all. i only remember spitting it out, trying another piece from another plate, and still hating it.
vimeo
thankfully everyone wanted to relax and take it easy, so we ordered in for dinner and spent the rest of the night chilling.
jul 4, 19 ••• we drove out to see the border between rwanda and the democratic republic of congo. we were told to be very careful about taking photos of the police officers there, so we were. it felt strange to take photos of the border, i’m clearly very ignorant of the relations and history. it was a very busy juncture, with a sea of people crossing this way and that, lots of cars bumbling about and a lot of fruit, as i recall. hahah.
we then drove out to see a makeshift hot spring. we were asked if we wanted to take a dip, but none of us wanted to..... felt bad saying no, but really not worth it, sorry.
vimeo
https://vimeo.com/568059672 (okay, i’m unable to embed more videos so links will have to do until i figure out something better...)
we took a boat ride along the lake, but there wasn’t that much to see around there, it was pretty dirty and murky... reminded me of the hong kong harbor, with trash floating around. it was also freezing, so i wasn’t having any fun at all.
we went to the gym and worked out a little bit because there was a lot of time to kill in between returning to hotel and our private pre-planned bbq dinner on the beach. we were lucky enough to enjoy traditional rwandan dancing which was absolutely gorgeous.
jul 5, 19 ••• we spent most of our morning in the car, having crossed the border to the republic of uganda. we stopped by a cute cafe along the way for lunch, but it was a grueling 4-5 hour car ride to mahogany springs, which was our hotel for the gorilla trekking. we managed to arrive around 715pm, by which time it was pretty dark and scary outside. the other car had broken down twice, once in the dark as well, so spirits were low and there was a lot of muttering and grumbling done under people’s breath. everyone was ravenous by the time dinner was served, but despite how late it was, it was absolutely delicious and i was happy! (also grateful for our car not having broken down)
jul 6, 19 ••• we woke up VERY early in anticipation of gorilla trekking. we waited around the hotel lobby after some coffee and biscuits for breakfast. it was an awful lot of waiting, but i didn’t sense anything wrong until i saw how pissed off our tour guide looked. it turns out our permits had gotten stolen! probably bribes.
here we were mucking around, still anticipating gorilla trekking.
we didn’t let it slow us down though. i actually am grateful for how things turned out because we wouldn’t have gotten to experience uganda like that without this turn of events. we joined a community tour that showed us how tea is harvested, how coffee is grown, harvested and round, as well as how bananas may be used to make juice, beer and gin! very cool
african tea leaves
jackfruit??
these are flowers from the coffee tree
the different stages of the coffee plant
this is henry, he owns this coffee plantation. here, henry shows us how to the use this contraption, the purpose of which is to grind coffee beans into powder
here henry is, sifting the coffee powder
here are my parents, having the time of their life (lol at my dad)
fresh bananas
these are the different stages of a banana’s life: from raw to ripe to fermenting. it can be made into juice and liquor.
we then visited a local school, where we were entertained by kids from kindergarten to 6th grade. we learned about their mission and goals to educate the younger generations by providing classrooms and a dining hall and even dorms for boarding. the singing and dancing was BRILLIANT. loved every single second of it. wish i’d joined in and not cared about what anyone thought.
we stopped by a women’s community center and saw a lot of cool crafts and art. that was on the way to the batwa pgymy tribe. we learned how they integrated with the batwa community. they showed us some dances they have dedicated to the gorillas, for which they are very grateful because it brings tourists in and therefore gives them an income. they showed us how to use a bow and arrow to hunt, and how they weave baskets and make handicrafts.
alan with the leader of the pgymy tribe
one of our guides spotted 2 chameleons, which was super impressive. he even brought the chameleon down close to us so that we could see it. i won’t ever understand how he was able to spot it in the wild, and from so far away as well.
we returned to the lodge and had lunch. the veggie stir fry was pretty dang good. it was served with posho, which is a maize bread, beans, and also matate (???) which reminded me a lot of plantain. back at the hotel, we chilled (without tv or wifi) until dinner. alan fell asleep, and i kept myself busy sorting out photos. dinner was early, and our night was early because we were promised gorilla trekking in the morning!
delicious!
jul 7, 19 ••• we were up and ready to leave by 7am. we were in the clear! we drove a little bit to the bwindi impenetrable national park for some entertainment (dancing and singing) from local students and a hilarious briefing on what to expect and do’s and don’ts of the trek.
we then had separate meetings within our trekking groups. ours was quite big, with 10 tourists, because michael and our guides had spent HOURS the day before handling our stolen permits. an exception was made to accommodate us all, so our group consisted of the starke’s, alan, kerstin, a couple from oregon, and an english family. we had to get in another car and drive a bit to the mountain, where we met our porters and then began our trek!
the hike up was difficult, and at times i legit feared for my life because the mud/rocks were loose and one wrong step would have had us tumbling down the edge of the mountain... and that was me at age 28!! cannot imagine how my parents were feeling...
alan with meddie
as we made our way to the gorilla family, we encountered a solo young male who was soooo friendly, he cut across our group, like right down the middle, and he even reached out and touched my mom on her jacket! it was wild that a gorilla was that close to us, and then he left as quickly as he had joined.
this is the photo my mom managed to take when the young gorilla male was right next to her
we kept on hiking and found a large. our guide, meddie, told us that we were lucky to have found such a large family doing a whole bunch of different activities: we saw mothers nursing their babies, babies swinging from the trees and playing with one another, sub adult males beating their chests and other members of the family eating and feeding. we even got to watch as a silverback gorilla pulled a very healthy poop out of its butt, and we ran into him snacking again later on.
on the way down, it started raining a little bit. we all slipped at one point or another, but it was especially dangerous for my dad so we all had to slow down our pace a little bit to match his speed. thank god he had a porter there to help him out and save him.
we returned to the same place as where we had started our morning for a debriefing, and we each received a certificate to show that we had been on this trek. we waited around a little bit for the other group to arrive, and were once again very grateful that our experience was much more pleasant. one lady in the other group had to leave the trek on a stretcher, and the others were caught in the rain on their way to the gorillas, so it must have been a cold and awful experience on their end.
us after the successful completion of our gorilla trek!!
we headed to a local inn nearby where we had a late lunch and could change into dry clothes. we then drove a bumpy 4 hours to mweya safari lodge, located inside queen elizabeth national park. we made a couple of stops along the way (one of which was in the middle of nowhere so that people could go pee out in the open where animals are potentially roaming around?!?!?) and when we finally arrived, it was already 830/9ish pm.... we insisted to order room service because we were pooped, and we got showered and hit the hay.
this cute sign was outside the lodge!
this super old school cash register was at the lodge too
jul 8, 19 ••• today started off with a game drive, early in the morning!
we drove around the gorgeous park and saw elephants, warthogs, antelope, eagles, all sorts of bird and butterflies, buffalo and weird-looking lemur or ferret creatures. we thought it was great, but some other members of the group were underwhelmed.
this is the view from the car we sat in for the safari
this gorgeous tree houses sooo many bird’s nests! do you see them?
cute antelope we saw on the tour
after lunch at the hotel, we went on a boat tour around the kazinga channel. i think it was called lake edward? we saw many animals again, including crocodile, elephants, buffalo, all sorts of birds, and hippos.
favorite photo of my parents ¨̮
we followed a few elephant cuties along the bank. it drizzled for a little bit in between.
dinner was delicious. it was a great buffet, although i was severely grossed out by the ants that joined us on the dining table.
there were so many animals on the grounds of the lodge. don’t be fooled by how cute these guys look, we saw them fight over raw meat at some point! we also saw a warthog stroll around.
jul 9, 19 ••• we were up bright and early today for a quick breakfast before heading right on out. on the way to entebbe, we stopped by a local motel for lunch. the service was SUPER slow (maybe because we had such a huge group together!) but it was delicious and worth the wait! i ordered a coleslaw and avocado vinaigrette (this was THE HUGEST AVOCADO i’ve ever seen in my life?!?!?), a veggie biryani and some of paul’s aloo matar. we then filed back into our cars for several more hours of “african massage” to the next destination. had an early night, i think we ordered room service to the hotel room and tried to get our butts to bed as early as possible because it was another EARLY day the morning after.
we stopped at the equator in uganda to take some photos, of course!
i was sooo happy to be able to order room service! we felt like we were finally back to civilization... 🥺 we had wifi and tv and hot water... ugh it was amazing
jul 10, 19 ••• my alarm was set for 4am this morning.... 🥲😅 we left the hotel at 5am for the airport and obviously i was tired and grumpy and just in a crappy mood overall hahahah. our first flight was barely 45 minutes.... to mbarara i’m guessing?? i was assigned a middle seat on my own originally but no one was in the aisle seat so i moved over woohoo! our first layover was 2-3 hours, not too bad. we hung around at the lounge area.
our second flight was to harare. alan and i managed to snag 2 joined seats towards the back end of the plane so that we could watch conan’s traevel shows on his ipad. there was a pretty scary drop when we were descending imto harare. i think we just stayed on the plane for about half an hour so some people could get on the plane and join.
we flew about 3 hours more to cape town, and we were EXCITED to arrive. it was a hell of a time checking in, and it was a nicer hotel in a nice area so we decided to just stay in and order room service again. we had a slow night and it was SOOOO needed. cape town felt a lot closer to the first world and we were enjoying and appreciating it to the max. we even started playing pokemon go and its harry potter-themed equivalent (oops forgot the name), but to be fair, we didn’t get cell phone service everywhere we went, so it would cut on and off.
jul 11, 19 ••• eek, cape town was COOOOLD! luckily i brought a jacket along, we really really needed to cover up and stay warm! got to sleep in a bit, we left by 830am to drive to the pebble beach by the water to take some gorgeous photos. we stopped by chapman’s peak for another photo op, then drove to boulders beach in simon’s town to see the penguins!! it was such a dream, loved every second of it.
i believe this was chapman’s peak??
what a model
this was at the pebble beach at the cape of good hope.
saw a cute ostrich on the way somewhere
next we went to cape point. we took the funicular to the top, then hiked up to the lighthouse. we took pots of great pics but omg it was EVEN MORE freezing there. we had lunch at the two oceans restaurant. fancy and delicious! the calamari was bomb, the arancini was alright, but the main of chickpea and mushrooms was delish. after lunch we headed right on back to the hotel.
when i said it was cold, i wasn’t joking... it was FREEZING at the top. i had a horrible time because i don’t do that well in the cold
alan and i walked over to woolworths to get water and makeup remover and snacks. on the way back we stopped by PLANT for dinner. i was sooo excited to try out their vegan fast food, so i ordered a lot of the menu. we got the quinoa salad, mac and cheez, seitan lasagna, schawarma, pot stickers, siu mai, spag bolognese, tiramisu, milk tart and a bunch of other random vegan snacks. i was in HEAVEN. even though some of the stuff was cold by the time we got back to the hotel and ate, it still tasted DELICIOUS. i was soooo impressed.
this was the lasagna. omfg i need an encore of this restaurant one day!!! wish i knew how to cook like this
jul 12, 19 ••• today we went to a wine blending workshop at grande provence winery. the first step was to blend 3 different mixtures. after tasting them all, we decided the last blend was the winner, with 40% zinfandel, 10% shiraz and 50% cabernet. so then we blended up a big bottle of it, corked it, thew on a hand-signed label, and then walked around the beautiful indoor and outdoor art galleries.
this was our group!
wine blending is literally mixing different wines together in different proportions and figuring out which you like the taste of the best
there was a lot of cute art at the winery! i loved all the dogs and greyhounds around the property. these 3 dancing pigs came a close second
we drove a little way for lunch at another beautiful vineyard. i had a charcoal ciabatta, tomato quinoa salad, root veggie risotto and steamed veggies on the side. we skipped the wine tasting because our lunch overran a bit and our bus driver buford said that the traffic would be pretty heavy on a friday afternoon and it wouldn’t be worth it to be stuck on the bus. so we just walked around the cute little town we were at, franschhoek (??)
there was a lot of cute art and small local shops around this town! we strolled around and got some souvenirs ¨̮
love this
we had a dinner booked way ahead at fyn restaurant. it was stunningly delicious. i loved every single course and was thoroughly impressed.
UGHHHHH just soooo good.
jul 13, 19 ••• FINALLY we had a day to sleep in!!!! we let our group know the night before that we didn’t want to join the walking tour around the city. we woke up and made our way to the company’s garden, which was directly next to our hotel. we played harry potter wizards unite and ran into the tour group. my mom told me later on it was a good decision of ours not to join haha.
we walked to addis in cape for an authentic ethiopian meal experience. we washed our hands at the table, ate the whole meal with our hands, and finally i was able to taste injera. it was 100% teff injera and it did not disappoint. i ordered a vegan platter while alan got a combo. the amount of food was PERFECT for us, we finished every single thing.
we ordered dessert but the hot berries never showed up and the ice cream was interestingly very gummy and very very sweet. the coffee was strong and served with a beautiful platter.
after that, we needed to walk our full tummies off. we headed to the waterfront, where there were many shops and stalls in indoor and outdoor malls. it was just a really good time walking around there and we saw soooo many things. there was bubble tea in south africa, a yogurt bar that made me sooo happy, dogs were up for adoption, and a bootleg jabbawockeez performance at the city square. we walked back to the hotel after that and got ready for bed.
jul 14, 19 ••• we woke up at 430am to head to the airport by 530am. we caught our first flight from cape town to johannesburg, then transferred to a direct flight back to hong kong. it was a TIRING trip but wow, the memories!! really want to go to back soon

hi💕 did you get my ask yesterday? anyway it’s okay if you didn’t, i just got another idea because i’m feeling shitty today, what about chris and you liking each other but you don’t want to say anything because you don’t feel worthy of him so when he insinuates you just dismiss him and he thinks you don’t like him like super angsty but happy ending?
This one was fun, I hope I got that bit of angsty feel to it, while keeping it light hearted. If he ever told me he had feelings for me, I would be all adkfjakldfjqier HOT MESS. Lol. If you like this kind of theme, @jtargaryen18 has a great chapter one with this feel called Jealous Guy with Chris x Reader. Its so good!
You looked at Chris as you popped open his fridge, and stuck your head in. “Buddy, if you are out of beer before this bbq even begins, can we even call it a bbq?” Straightening and looking at the thread bare shelves, you arch a brow. Did he even eat?
“Its out in the garage Y/N, trust me I know better then not to have beer.” He rolls his eyes at you, making burger patties and setting them on a platter, a splash of Worcester sauce, salt, pepper. Yea good enough. You make your way to the garage through the kitchens side door and grab two bottles. Okay, thats better. He had a full fridge in the garage, as well as the extras to bring out into the back yard when they go to set up.
Going back in, you make sure the door is firmly shut, outside was sweltering already, and you considered the idea that you all maybe should have extra ice on hand. “Yes I got plenty of ice to” Chris says with a grin as he rips off some saran wrap and covers the burgers before handing you the platter to place into his fridge.
“I promise, I only asked you here to hang out. I got all the rest covered." Chris moved to wash his hands and you hip check the fridge shut.
"Okay! Okay! I give! I'm here.... Only as a guest...."
He paused, knowing it was coming.
".... Who feels like she should help you get ready."
That earned you a hand towel being chucked at you, the two of you laughing as you both headed out to his patio, calling Dodger to join you two, and Chris snagged his sunglasses while waiting for his pup to join you two.
The two of you has been best friends for many years, it was an easy going, no expectation kinda deal. There we're times, you wanted to take it further, you knew those little over the top things he did privately for his girlfriend's, after all you had helped him brainstorm a few of them. But they were never for you, always the best friend, you weren't complaining. You valued this, but you wondered what it could have been like.
You were out of his league anyways, you knew that, he knew that. Life is what it is. These were your thoughts on the subject.
But the past year he pulled back from that scene. Seemed to focus on himself, what he wanted to accomplish after his Marvel stint. You had asked him a couple times if he was seeing anyone. Chris would just kind of shrug, become elusive in his answers. "He, I'm to busy"
Somehow you would never catch his glance your way when you would go back to what you were doing. He was not to busy, he was conflicted.
You were his best friend. He didn't want to ruin one of his most valued relationships by asking for more. Even if it could be the best thing in his life.
"When's everyone supposed to get here?" You ask, as you move over to sit on the edge of his in ground pool. Kicking off your flip flops and lowering to dip your toes in, and sinking your leg in as you sat down, careful with the glass bottle. He loped over next to you, already barefoot, he lowered next to you and took a drag before he set it next to yours.
"Couple hours yet, although Scott and Zach will probably be by sooner."
"They are so damn cute" you remarked, having just met Scotts boyfriend a few weeks ago when you were invited to a party they were throwing
Chris chuckled softly, watching Dodger on the other side of the pool, rubbing himself in the freshly cut grass, staining his white fur green. "They really are, and Scotts so happy, probably the happiest ive seen him in a long time." You picked up on that wistful note, glancing over at him and let your shoulder nudge him. "Did I just hear a note of longing Christopher, Mr. I like being a bachelor?"
You were only teasing, but he looked thoughtful at you, blue eyes scanning over your face, and you felt that all familiar tingle flushing the tops of your cheeks. Damn it y/n, check yourself woman.
"Well maybe, yea. I would like something more then the occasional fling, and just sex. But I'm not sure she be interested in me like that. We've never discussed it, and shes never necessarily hinted in more then what we got."
You, so completely not picking up on what he was really saying, cause in your mind, he couldn't ever be into you. "Well doofus, you have to tell her. Come on, your a catch Chris. Any woman would be happy with you, and with luck, she will make you happy to." You tipped back your bottle, the icy cold beer tingling your lips in that delicious way, your tongue would swipe along your bottom lip, Chris trying to keep himself from getting to distracted.
Playing with the neck of his bottle, he sloshed it a bit, and then set it aside before taking a drink from it. “Okay, I will. Y/N, what do you say, would you like to go out on a date with me?” You just about choked on your beer, sputtering and he reached over to tap his hand against your back. “Jesus Christ woman, breath!”
“You-you want to go out, with me? why in the world would you want to...?” Your voice drifted off, and Chris arched his brows, reaching out to take your hand, which you let him. Still shocked at his question.
“Really Y/N? You cant really be questioning why? Ive known you for years. We have fun together, you already know about all the risks that come to dating me. Youve never, wondered about what it would be like for us? Cause I have many times.”
“Well yea Chris, I mean... ive noticed, dont get me wrong. But im me... your you, it just...” You gave a shrug, not really wanting to say those words. Chris tilted his head, blue eyes searching for what you werent exactly spitting out, and shook his head.
“I dont get what you mean Y/N, what does that have to do with anything?”
“Come on Chris”pulling back your hand, you splashed your leg a bit while drawing it out, and wrapping your arm around it as you bent it, watching the water run down to the tips of your toes, suddenly they were fascinating, you could really just watch those droplets race away all day then to answer Chris’s question. But he wasnt backing down, and you could feel his incredibly blue in the sunshine, im innocent but also know what Im doing to you babes, eyes fucking staring at you. “You are so out of my league, Ive seen the woman youve dated in the past.”
Taken aback, his brows furrowed in frustration. “Thats bullshit Y/N, you think I would think anyone wouldnt deserve me cause I happen to make movies?” He went silent, contemplating what he wanted to say next. The fact that you felt that way about yourself just proved that he was going to have to show you how incredible you were. “Just a chance Y/N, if you have any feelings for me. Its all I ask for.” Turning back to you, he dipped his head to hover near yours.
Waiting for you to give an answer, your heart race cause he was that close. You could feel the soft breaths of air coming from his soft breaths and your eyes darted to those full lips, making your own throb with wanting to brush against them. But hes your friend, your mind screams and then a soft whisper. But he can be so much more.
It was all interrupted when Scott called from inside the house, and you pulled away, scooting back and moving to a stand, grabbing the emptied beer bottles. It was an excuse to get away from what you actually wanted to say. “Let me grab us another!” Racing away to go greet Scott, Chris lets his head falls into his hands, groaning. I was so close, and scared you away.
Scott busted through the door to find Chris pulling himself to a stand, catching the drawn look he had, he tilted his head “Out with it, I know that look, and thats the one you use when something is bugging you.”
“Nothing is wrong Scott” Chris lied, Dodger promptly coming over to greet his “uncle”, in which Scott immediately ruffled his ears. Not to be distracted though, he gave another spill it motion.
“Okay, if you MUST know Scott, I might have told Y/N I had feelings for her.”
Scotts eyes widened, and he grinned. “Well its about damn time Chris! You two have been dancing around each other for a year. Even Zach said we should just push you two together to kiss.”
“Yea well, it didnt go as I hoped.” His hand went up to the back of his neck, rubbing it. “She feels shes not in the same league? How is that even a worry.”
Scott shrugged and loped his arm over his brothers shoulder. “Hey, shes probably just nervous and caught her by surprise. Talk to her again after the party, and relax bro. Trust in your gut.” Chris wrinkled his brow as he listened to Scott, he made some good points. It was unexpected after all. He had certainly never hinted it before at you that he had any real interests. “Come on, let go see what those two are up to and finish setting up.”
Inside, you and Zach were dicing up some fruit they had brought for a fruit salad, having avoided bringing Chris that second beer, and Chris didnt remark on it once they came back inside. He smiled over at you and you glanced down right quick, moving to drop the strawberries in. Was it going to be awkward? Fuck you hoped not. But to your relief, there was no change. Everyone fell into an easy chatter, Chris went and started his grill, and before you all knew it, the party was underway with people showing up, bringing more food, games were played and most likely to much beer got consumed.
The evening started winding down, and you bid your goodbyes, touching Chris’s arm “So im going to head out, it was a great time, dont forget to drink some water before bed though. You will wake up with a headache.” A frown plays on his lips.
“Wait, your really leaving? I thought we could talk.” His eyes flashed hopeful at you, and honestly right now it was all more then you wanted to get into.
“Yea, I got an early morning and stuff I need to take care of.” White lies werent harmful, right?
“How about I come over tomorrow then?” He was still trying, one thing about Chris, once he set his mind to something, he rarely backed down.
“Text you, I promise!” You say a bit overly cheerfully and dart out the door, leaving him on his own once more. Digging out your keys, you escape to your car and pull out of his drive. Driving around, you ended up going nowhere near home, instead you drove around, trying to process your thoughts.
Why couldnt you Y/N? Dont you deserve some kind of happiness and youve always been attracted to him. Just always putting yourself down, you did that with your ex to. Here Chris was saying he had feelings beyond just friends and you ducked out the door before telling him that you might have as well for years.
This was how it went for a couple hours, getting dark you turned on your head lights, and before you realized where you were, your car pulled into Chris’s driveway, tapping your fingers on the wheel. His lights were still on, but everyones cars were gone. Were you really going to do this? Yes... Yes you are. Y/N, you have someone who wants to see if you two are meant to be something more, someone you actually care for as well. Stop holding back.
Going up the front steps, you consider letting yourself in, but you simply knock instead, twisting your fingers together. Dodgers bark emits, and you can hear Chris on the other side. “Hush boy, its okay. Back up buddy.” And then the click, he opened his door and a quirk of a smile folds up the corner of his mouth. “Hey.... “ You take a deep breath and step up to him, grasping his face in your hands, and sweep up to your toes to reach him. Why he have to be ridiculously tall? The sharp taste of beer and him flooded your senses, and his arm tilted around to brace you in close, holding back enough so you could control this kiss, it was yours, and he wasnt about to scare you off again.
Pulling back, you smooth your hands down to his shoulders, clearing your throat. “First of all, Chris you know I dont want to loose our friendship, second I want to see how good we could be. And third...”
Suddenly Scott appeared in the background, grinning wide. Apparently he didnt leave. “ITS ABOUT TIME YOU TWO!!!”
Cats out of the bag, you and Chris were going to see where this would go.

Title: Buzz, Buzz—Buzz, Buzz {One-Shot}***
Chris Evans x Reader
Warning: Cursing, Tease, NSFW, SMUT
Words: 4.5k
Note: I love vibrating panties by the way. Great idea! This was too much fun to write. I hope you enjoy it!!!
***Loosely Edited/Proofread***
~~~~~~~~~
“I can’t believe you cooked all of this,” Scott said as he gaped at all the food scattered around your townhouse.
You had gotten a little carried away in the kitchen with all the cooking. You’d made fried coconut shrimp, some potato salad, mac and cheese, and some honey BBQ smothered ribs. That all went with various little finger foods like chili cheese nachos topped with all the fixings, little kabobs, and a fruit salad. Looking at all the food you may have gone overboard considering there was probably only going to be maybe ten people in attendance today to watch the fight.
“I know, I think I went a tab bit overboard.”
“No, it’s great. It is fight night after all,” Scott said.
You finished putting out the rest of the décor for the night and making sure your townhouse was company ready.
“You are quite the little entertainer.”
Scott helped you straighten the rest of the townhouse which you had neglected in your cooking spree. While you tackled upstairs, Scott tackled downstairs. You had to make sure the bathroom and the bedroom and even the guest bedroom was good. The one thing you hated was when you went to someone’s house and their whole house was not on point. It could have been just something small, but it got to you.
“Shit, Scott I forgot the cake.”
“I knew you would. How could you not? I didn’t think you’d be doing all of this.”
“If I go to get it I won’t have enough time to get ready before everyone gets here.”
“It’s okay, I’ll get it. Give me the receipt and I’ll go. You get ready,” Scott offered.
“Thank you, Scott.” You rummaged through your bag until you found the receipt for Scott so he could pick up the cake for fight night. Fight night was never complete with something sweet to end the night.
Once he was gone you finished tidying up and setting fresh candles out you hopped in the shower. Ten minutes later you were trying to find the right outfit but couldn’t decide what to wear. It was a fight, so you didn’t want to get too crazy, but you also didn’t want to look frumpy. You tried on dresses with wedges and heels, jeans and tanks, jumpsuits, skirts but you could not decide.
Halfway through your mind jumped to Scott’s brother, Chris. You’d been friends with Scott for about nine months before he introduced you to his brother superstar Chris brown at a party. It was of course an automatic attraction for you. who the hell wouldn’t think Chris Evans was hot? Sometimes when you hung out with Scott he was around, and it became normal after a few months. Every once in a while you’d hang out alone mainly when you were in a group. You’d break off alone and talk or even do things together. You’d come to realize he was a cool guy, really funny and down to earth. You’d gotten comfortable around each other and you couldn’t deny that you were probably developing a crush.
After nearly fifteen minutes of debate, you decided on an off the shoulder shirt and a pair of jeans that you would pair with some wedges. You thought it was a good combo. When you reached into your drawer for a pair of panties you didn’t think anything about picking the black thong you’d gotten as a naughty birthday gift from your friends. You’d lost the remote months ago so that rendered the vibrating contraption useless. While you were rushing around to make sure you were ready in time you didn’t realize the doorbell rang until you heard pounding at the door. When you opened it, Chris was standing there holding the cake Scott was sent out to get.
“Hey. I’m sorry I didn’t hear the door.”
“It’s okay. I come bearing sweets.” You smiled and held open the door so he could come in.
“You can put it in the kitchen on the counter. Thanks.” You followed behind him looking over his body. His white polo looked so good on him. It fit him just right and accentuated his broad his shoulders were and how trim his waist was. He looked so good. Catching yourself before he caught you checking him out you looked away and tried to compose yourself.
“What happened to Scott?”
“He had a few things to do before he made it over here, so he asked me to bring this over.”
“Thank you.”
“I feel like I should thank you, it smells amazing in here. I can’t wait to get my hands on all this food,” Chris said as he rubbed his hands together.
“You’re so silly.” A few moments passed with the two of you smiling at each other before you snapped out of it.
“Okay, I’m gonna finish setting up, everyone should be here any minute.”
“Okay, need help?”
“No, I got it. You chill and get the channel right. I’ll be back.” As you walked past him you thought you heard him whisper “god damn”. Deciding it was your ears playing tricks on you, you continued rushing around.
While you were rushing around doing God knows what he found the channel the fight was on and got it ready. When he fixed himself a plate and sat on the couch it was then he saw a small black device peeking out from underneath the wall mounted bookcase. He dug it out but before he could investigate further the doorbell rang. He slipped the device in his pocket and answered the door to find a group of smiling faces.
“Heyyyy!” He smiled and ushered them inside as they all spoke at once. Some were commenting on how good it smelled inside, some on the coming fight, and some just chattering. Before long everyone had settled and situated around the living room.
“How was this recent trip, Chris?”
He’d just got back into town from filming a coming show that he was excited about. “It was good. It was mainly last minute reshoots and whatnot. It should be premiering soon.”
“What’s it called?”
“Defending Jacob.”
When you walked out everyone approached you and pulled you in for hugs. You spent the next few moments hugging everyone and having small talk. He couldn’t help but watch you. When he first met you he thought you were beautiful, yeah but he didn’t dwell on it. As the weeks and months passed and he got to know you better thanks to Scott he really liked you and the vibe you gave off. The more he talked to you away from your group of friends, the more he liked.
After a few months he knew he was in real danger of finding himself in a situation that had the potential to be messy. Normally he wouldn’t have cared but he’d just gotten to a point in his life where he was through making bad decisions that made him into the asshole. If he made a move on you he would be the man he was. So he kept his distance and did everything in his power to keep himself in check.
His eyes roamed your body and he fully took notice of your outfit. The jeans fit you too well and the top accentuated your soft shoulders and ample cleavage. Just like that he knew it was going to be a long night.
When everyone got their food and seats the fight started, by that time he’d checked out your ass more than four times and found himself staring at your breasts more times than he could count. He made it a goal to focus on the fight and nothing else. He told himself it didn’t matter that you were beside him and smelled like every flower in the book or the fact that your thigh brushed his every so often. A little after the halfway mark you returned with a beer for him.
“Thanks.” Your smile was polite and sweet. He dug his hand in his pocket and remembered the small device there. He didn’t know what it was but after fiddling with it he decided it was probably a stress thing. It took him a few minutes to realize the soft rubber spots were buttons. He pressed one down. Almost at the same time, you dropped back onto the couch with an “oh”.
When he looked at you the look on your face said confusion and shock.
“Are you okay?” Your head snapped to him and you instantly nodded. The way you did it was weird, but he didn’t think anything of it. He continued to fiddle with the device in his pocket and pressed another button. You whimpered beside him and crossed your legs. When his eyes met you again you gave him a reassuring smile before looking back to the TV and the fight.
“Wow, that was a great cross,” you stuttered. He tried not to notice on your squirming beside him, crossing and uncrossing your legs but he noticed. You took your beer bottle and raised it to your lips and guzzled it until it was empty. He noticed you squeezing it so tightly the skin around your knuckles was taunt. As he tried to figure out what was going on with you he pressed another button. You released a sigh and sat up with a straight back then placed your empty beer bottle on the table before you with a shaky hand.
He watched you as you looked around the room as if you were looking for something. He was so busy watching you trying to figure out what was going on that he didn’t think anything of pressing more buttons on the device in no particular order.
“Oh Jesus Christ. No, no, no.”
“You okay Y/N?” You pinched your lips and nodded to Scott.
“Yep, all good. Cake. Does anyone want--cake?” You blew out a breath through your mouth. He watched your chest heave as if you were having trouble breathing. He pressed another button and your eyes closed before you stood. He noticed the shake in your legs when you did though and he was even more inquisitive.
~~~~~~~~~~
When you got to the kitchen you were free to panic. The remote wasn’t lost at all. It was somewhere. Either it was in one of the couch seats and someone was unaware they were controlling it and your pleasure. You’d forgotten how these things felt after trying them out that one time. You remembered very well now. Taking a few moments you cut slices of the cake and placed them on plates. After you’d cut the slices Chris’ voice took you by surprise.
“You okay?”
“Yeah I’m good. Are you good?” he looked at you as if he were suspicious of something. You’d probably acted weird as shit before.
“I’m good. Need help?”
“Uh yeah, thanks.” You and Chris each took a few plates and walked back out to hand them out to each guest. Once your hands were free you leisurely walked around the living room checking behind free cushions and spaces to see if you could find the root of your embarrassing situation.
“What’re you looking for?”
“Oh nothing important. I just thought I lost a piece of jewelry earlier. Don’t worry about it,” you lied. You tried to act as normal as possible but it was hard. You didn’t know when the next vibrating surge would come and you could also feel Chris’ eyes on you. the two things were making you more awkward and nervous than usual.
Soon everyone was on their feet cheering on their chosen fighter. The controlled chaos gave you the opportunity to look in each of the couches but you’d come up empty handed. The only other possibility was that someone had it and was controlling it without knowing just what it was. Now you looked around to each of your friends assessing them trying to figure out who the culprit was. Your eyes met Chris’ from across the room and he stole your breath. The two of you stared at each other for a few moments and you wondered if it was him but his hands were free. Everyone cheered snapping you out od the moment to see the fight was over.
The vibration began again this time it wasn’t on the low setting, it was a lot stronger.
“Fuck!” You crossed your legs, pinched your lips and tried to hold back any sounds you were tempted to make. The vibration continued then intensified and you could feel the beginning stirs of the orgasm that wanted freedom.
You didn’t think you could stop it so you walked to your balcony as smoothly as possible. You turned your back to the French doors and bit your bottom lip trying to stop the moan. It definitely wasn’t working so you grabbed the railing before you and bent over and let the orgasm free with a grunt. Your body was on fire and you already knew it wanted more. The vibration stopped unexpectedly giving you a much needed break. The wetness between your thighs was now distracting.
After taking a little time to get yourself under control you walked back inside the living room and to the couch and sat beside Chris with a sigh.
“You’ve been acting weird all night. Are you sure you’re okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine. It’s just a hot night.” It wasn’t a lie, you were burning up at this point.
“Uh-huh.” He didn’t sound like he believed you, shit you didn’t believe yourself. Your eye caught the shine of something black Chris was holding, and all the blood drained from you as horror filled you. He was holding the remote you thought you’d lost. It dawned on you at once that he’d had it this entire time and he’d been playing with the buttons inadvertently bringing you to a pretty intense orgasm.
“Shit,” you whispered to yourself as you tried to act normal.
Nothing about this was normal. You had to figure out a way to nonchalantly get it back without tipping him off to what it really was. Before you could come up with something the vibrations began again against your already over sensitive clit sending your back crashing back into the couch. The setting was set low, but it was still more than enough to start the stirs of yet another release. Fighting through it you sat up tried not to squirm. When the setting increased you failed miserably. Your hand shot out to grab and squeeze Chris’ thigh. When you looked at him the second your eyes met you knew he knew. Slowly he looked to the black device in his hand and back to you and then his eyebrow arched up.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
No fucking way, he thought. There was no way this was real life. He couldn’t believe events would turn like this. Quickly you yanked your hand back and apologized before looking the opposite direction. He almost laughed out loud. This was too perfect. What he thought was just a useless stress reliever turned out to be a lot more valuable. It was the remote to what he’d now pieced together as your panties.
The thought of you wearing some sexy contraption that he had control over instantly made him hard. He could have turned it off but he chose not to as he realized your antics on the balcony was probably you being overcome with pleasure. It was then he realized he’d made you come. The old him wanted to resurface so badly so he kept the setting where it was and watched you squirm. God, it was sexy as hell doing this knowing everyone around you was clueless. He watched closely he wanted to see you come this time knowing that he knew just what he was doing. You didn’t utter one word or give one thing away. The only thing he noticed was your body heaving clearly exerted.
With a smile, he turned off the device and tucked it back into his pocket. He’d give you a break. The rest of the night he tried to forget the power he had, forget the tightness in his pants and ignore how badly he wanted you. After the fight finished everyone stayed for a few hours longer just laughing, dancing and having a good time. You stayed away from him the entire time. If he was close to you, you found a reason to go to the opposite side of the room. It amused him; he’d gotten under your skin. It had him thinking back to every glance you’d shared over the months. Did they mean something more?
Slowly everyone made their exit leaving Scott his partner and him there to help you clean up. You tried to shoo them out but they each insisted on helping to show appreciation for the hospitality you’d shown. He could tell you hated every minute of it and that made him even more amused. Your cool composure was crumbling and he could see the angst in you bubbling to the surface to reveal just how much he’d affected you.
By the time you showed them to the door, he still had your remote and he knew you knew it.
“Y/N, this was so much fun. Thank you for hosting it,” Scott said giving you one last hug.
“No problem, it was fun.”
“Yeah I had a lot of fun,” he added. You didn’t look at him, but you pinched your lips.
“All right y’all get home safe.” He walked out the door and down the hall with Scott and his partner with a small satisfied smile on his face.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Five minutes from when you closed the door the doorbell rang. When you opened the door there Chris stood holding the remote between his thumb and pointer fingers. Neither of you spoke, you just stared at each other. Who needed words with everything that had transpired between you? here was a man you’d never slept with but had made you come two times.
As you reached for the remote Chris yanked his hand back. You continued trying to grab the remote but every move you made he evaded. Soon he was stepping inside.
“Chris, give it to me.”
“Why do you want it?”
“It’s mine.”
“It’s been mine tonight.” You caught his double meaning and you rushed him in a mad dash attempt to grab the remote from him. Chris evaded you and the two of you danced around the living room, you trying to get what belonged to you and him determined to hold on to it. Chris stumbled backward and fell on the floor and took you with him. The remote fell from his hand to a few feet away. When you realized it you were laying on top of him. Your eyes locked and you realized just how your body was angled on him. You were sitting right over his crotch and you definitely took notice of the thick ridged muscle pressing into you.
You caught the glint of the remote off to the side a few feet away and slowly looked to him. He must have realized what you saw and the two of you scurried to it. Thanks to his long arms he was the one to grab it. As soon as he did you felt the most intense vibrations, he’d turned it to the highest setting.
“Fuck!” You shouted out and writhed on him. You bucked your hips against him and picked up the speed dry humping him and rushing to find a release. Your body shook and your eyes rolled to the back of your head. “Oh my god, oh my god, oh—my—god!” You screeched as your body convulsed.
It felt like you were having the wildest seizure, a seizure that took any control you had of your body. All you wanted was to come and thanks to the vibrations you got your wish. You threw yourself across his chest trying to catch your breath, but it was impossible. Whimpering you writhed some more from the unbearable pleasure. It was too much. Slowly the settings decreased until the vibrations stopped.
You didn’t know how long you laid there on him but when you lifted your head it felt heavy as if it weighed a ton. Your hands still shook as you pressed them to his chest. When your eyes met the fire, you saw there was something that you were not prepared for.
“Oh god.” Chris’ eyes dropped to your lips and in seconds your lips crashed together. This kiss was the most intense one you’d ever had. Chris’ tongue delved into your mouth and entangled with yours just as his hand gripped your ass pulling you closer to him and holding you against his hard cock. Both of you moaned together already knowing what you were going to do. There was no way you could stop now. He’d teased you all night and now you wanted something more.
Chris’ hands came around to the button of your jeans and quickly undid them before he slipped his hands inside the backs to cup your bare ass. You bucked your hips against him brushing your core on his swollen need. The entire time neither of you broke the kiss, instead, it intensified and became even more passionate. Chris’ hands lifted the hem of your shirt and yours were there to pull it off completely. As soon as it was off Chris’ hands were there to unhook your strapless bra to free your breasts. It was only then his lips pulled from yours to latch onto a hardened nipple.
He greedily went between both nipples sucking, licking and biting them bringing you even more pleasure. You pulled his shirt off of him and clawed his back enjoying the smoothness of his skin. He pulled you down again on his need and the urgency you felt increased. You stood above him and began pulling off your jeans. As you did he busied himself with his own pants. Once you’d kicked them off you moved to pull down the panties, but he stopped you by pulling you to him. Your feet were beside his face just as he pulled you down onto his face connecting his lips with your soaking slit.
“Oh shit!” Your eyes rolled to the back of your head again, he was not going slow and you were glad for it. Now was not the time. Chris licked and sucked your clit as he slurped you’re your opening sucking all your juices from you. It didn’t take you long to begin bucking against his lips and using them to find your next orgasm. Chris moaned the faster your rode his face and played with your nipples. When you looked down to him the intimacy of the moment pushed you over the edge so much that you lost yourself and smeared your pussy across his mouth and nose.
Before he made you come again you slinked down his body to his bulging cock and pulled it free. Your first reaction was to lick your lips as the feast before you. wasting not even a second you took him into your mouth. He was bigger than you expected, but you were not going to back down. Slurping against his skin you bobbed your head up and down his shaft a few times before bringing your hands to increase his pleasure.
“Fuck yeah!” taking a quick glance at him you found his head angled back with his eyes closed and mouth ajar. The lower you dipped the wider his mouth became until he scrunched his face and bit his bottom lip and watched everything you did.
“Yes, suck this cock. Fuck those lips!” The quicker you bobbed the more your slurped until you didn’t care how sloppy things were getting. Sloppy head was the best head after all.
Chris grunted loudly before pulling your head off of him.
“I don’t have anything,” he said.
“I do.” You reached into the drawer of the coffee table beside you and pulled out a condom. Once you opened it you slid it onto his rock solid cock. Every time you touched him he hissed and sucked in a breath. Once he was fully sheathed he pulled you to him and kissed you again. feeling the tip of him at your opening you slowly slid onto him. Both of you groaned and savored the sensations flowing through you. before you sank down fully Chris pulled your shoulders down fully sinking into your heated core.
“Holy shit!”
From the beginning, Chris pumped up into you with purpose, it was the same purpose he’d had all night—to make you come. You moaned and panted trying to catch your breath and take all he gave. He filled you so perfectly and to absolute capacity.
“Mmm, Y/N, I always knew you’d take this dick so well.”
Chris flipped you onto your back and held your thighs open and plowed into you never slowing his thrusts. Every connection had you shouting out unable to hold back how much pleasure he was giving you.
“Your tight little pussy loves this dick. Look how wet you are.”
Chris changed his angle and slammed into you quicker them before. the new angle had you clenching round him as you felt yet another release wash over you. you gripped him tightly and fug your nails into his shoulder trying to not pass out. Chris looked as if that was the last straw for him because his thrusts became wild and deep. The only sound in the room was the sound of your wetness squelching and your combined moans. You were so wet for him it should have been embarrassing but you weren’t embarrassed at all.
“God your gonna make me come,” Chris grunted.
“Come on this pussy right now, tag me up!” You had no idea where that came from. As if on queue Chris pulled out, yanked the condom off and stroked his length at the same time he pressed the button on the remote giving you another intense jolt.
“Oh fuck, yes, yes. Shit, I’m gonna come.”
“Come with me,” Chris’ voice was strangled, and his hands moved impossibly fast. Soon he grunted and gasped as he released spurt after spurt of hot come across your pussy, pelvis, and stomach. The third made it all the way to your breast across your nipple and that was when you came again. You arched up onto your legs as if you were a bridge as you rode through the intense pleasure. Chris was the one to turn off the device as he dropped onto his knees to catch his breath. His eyes never left your newly decorated body. You saw the string of come across your nipple and you lifted your breast to your mouth to lick off the trial all the while staring at him. Chris’ jaw dropped as he watched, and as he watched his cock grew again.
“Mmmm, tastes just like cake.” Chris looked in utter shock and disbelief before he snorted and dropped back onto the floor.
“Oh god, you’re gonna be the death of me!”

But can she adapt to Jon’s dangerous lifestyle? And what if her “past” comes looking for her? And for how long will she be able to abstain herself from the alluring advances of Jax?
Chapter One ||
Chapter Two - Bird on the Wire
Sansa sat down on top of her bed covers, crossing her legs under herself, waiting for Margaery to accept the video call. She looked to her side, watching as Arya was sound asleep, with her back turned to her. In her younger years, she had always complained having to share her room with her sister, and now, both grown-ass women, had to share a bed. A fucking bed. Thank god it was a big, double bed, or Sansa would’ve rather slept on the floor. Arya was a lousy bed companion, and during the night would throw her legs on top of Sansa’s, or somehow she would manage to slap Sansa on her face and chest. And there was also the matter of the drunk snoring, something Sansa had experienced the last time they went camping, when they stole their parents a couple bottles of whiskey and played drinking games.
“Hellooo, earth to Sans!?” Margaery high pitched voice echoed through the phone, calling Sansa out of her daydreaming
“Sorry, I’m here” Sansa apologized, smiling fondly “I missed you so much, Margie! How are you?”
“Oh, you know, bored to the core, nothing fun happens here” Margaery pouted, before continuing “How about you, living with a biker gang... Anyone worth mentioning?” she asked, giggling her eyebrows suggestively
Him “No” Sansa tried to sound nonchalant, but she knew she had failed, as she felt her cheeks warming up, something that her best-friend had also noticed
“You sure?” she teased
“Yeah, I’m sure” Sansa said, rolling her eyes, but her grin was hard to miss. Those damned eyes...
“Sansa, dear, by the way you’re blushing, I bet those pajama trousers are wet as hell”
“Margaery!” Sansa yelped, bringing her spare hand up to cover her face, as her friend laughed happily. Margaery always pushed her just the right way, and she became a different person around her. More loose, confident, and daring, and Sansa loved the power that transpired from her, when she was with Margaery. She looked to her side, and Arya was deep in her heavy sleep “Okay, I’m gonna tell you something, but you cannot, I repeat CANNOT tell anyone”
Margaery smiled deviously “Cross my heart”
“Jon’s been friends with this guy since his teens, right, and he was the one that introduced him to the club. It so happens that his family owns the auto shop we work in and he’s also smoking hot, I mean, steaming hot, drop dead gorgeous, looks that could kill kind guy. And you know what’s the worst?”
“what?”
“He knows he’s so damn irresistible, and he’s not afraid to show it. And he keeps teasing me, and calling me Red, and I’m trying really hard to keep my distance because I know nothing good will come from messing with him, but he’s starting to get on my nerves. Even the way he smokes is stupidly sexy, and that smug grin does things to me that I’m too ashamed to say out loud”
Sansa finished with a sigh, feeling a lot better for finally talking about her frustrations with her best-friend. Margaery, on the other end, was silent.
“You need to get laid” she finally said, despite the protests that erupted out of Sansa “So let me get this straight. Your boss is a hottie, your personal Christian Gray in leather, whiskey and smoke, that keeps flirting with you, and you’re having second thoughts?” Margaery asked, dumbfounded
“He’s my boss” Sansa recalled
“Yeah, I know”
“And he’s Jon’s best - and quite possibly - only friend” Sansa pressed
“That’s unfortunate. For Jon”
“Margie!”
“Alright, I get it, off limits” the brunette said, bringing her arms up, as a gesture of surrender “But I still think you need to get laid, to get him off your mind”
“Any suggestions?” Sansa joked, as her friend brought her hands down, and looked up, thoughtful
“The 4th of July weekend is coming up in a couple weeks, I could visit you and I would help you find a gentleman that is willing to... assist you in that matter. I can take Loras with me and we’d go out to a bar, or something. It’ll be fun” she finished, with a wink
Sansa chuckled “You’re my hero”
“I’m happy you be of service”
Sansa looked to the clock on the bed table, it was twenty minutes past midnight.
“I need to go to sleep now, but we’ll talk about your visit tomorrow, okay?”
“Okay. Love you, bestie” Margaery waved and sent a kiss
“Love you more, bestie” Sansa replied, before ending the call
She sat the phone down on the table, next to the clock, and slipped inside the covers, feeling happy knowing her best-friend in the world was coming to spend a couple days with her, and she would finally get rid of that itch that was a certain mister Jax Teller.
*~*~*~*
Sansa set down the last book on the shelf with a self-satisfied grin on her face, as she finally finished organizing the accounting books of the Teller-Morrow Autoshop. It took her the better part of two weeks to do it, too, and countless late evenings, but it was done.
“Fuckin’ finally” said Gemma, as she tapped a stack of papers on the tabletop, aligning them perfectly, and set them inside a folder, closing it promptly “I’s starting to think we’d never see the end of it”
“Well, it’s done” Sansa stated, with a smile, and the older woman smiled back.
Sansa liked Gemma a lot, and it seemed to her that the feeling was reciprocate. Gemma had taken her in her wing, these past couple weeks, and Sansa had learned that there was nothing Gemma wouldn’t do for her family, and the club. All she asked in return was devotion, and honesty. She would occasionally ask about Sansa’s life before she came to Charming, about her family, her friends, and past lovers, and if there was a topic Sansa would evade - past lovers - she wouldn’t press on.
“So, have you got any plans for the 4th of July?” Gemma inquired, with a raised eyebrow, as she leaned back on her chair and lighted a cigarette, as Sansa sat down on her chair
“Actually yes, I do. My best-friend and her brother are coming for the weekend. Arya and the boys cleaned the backyard, and the pool, and I think we’ll have a BBQ” Sansa raised her head and looked towards Gemma, as an idea settled in “You should come. I mean, Jon could invite the club, everyone brings the family, and we’ll have a good time”
Gemma laughed “Oh honey, they would bring the house down”
“No, it’ll be fun, I like having them around”
Sansa was caught by surprise by her own admission. They were starting to grow on her. Gemma had been right, they were a big family, there was no way around it.
“Alright then” Gemma grinned, and Sansa noticed it was the same smug smile Jax had “But we need a fuckload of beer”
*~*~*~*
Even though it was only the beginning of the week, and the holiday was only on Sunday, Gemma had insisted to do the shopping beforehand. She had to stop by the cleaners, she had said. For that, Sansa was left “in charge” of the shop. It was not the first time, really, but it was the first time something went terribly wrong.
“FUCK!”
Sansa rushed to the garage, her heart pounding on her ears, when she noticed a terrified Eddie jumping up and down with his hands clasped on his butt-cheeks, while the rest of the group, Tig, Chibs, Jon and Juice stood there laughing their arses off, practically into tears.
“What in the hell happened!?” Sansa snaps, eyes wide and hands over her hips
“We’re just playin’ with the prospect, that’s all” Juice says in between coughs, as he tried to contain his laughter, as the rest of the group were too
“THEY SHOT ME IN THE ASS!!!” Half-Sack yells, and the loud laughter returned
Sansa frowned, looking at Jon with menace, and he began to explain, knowing fully well that she would kick his ass in front of the Sons if she didn’t get an answer “It was an accident, Sans. With a nail gun. He came out of nowhere, and-”
“Someone needs to take him to the ER” Sansa cut him off, pointing at the poor boy
“It’s nothing, no need to worry that pretty head of yours” Juice retorted, as the laughter was dying out
“You know what, Juice? You better watch your mouth or I’ll slap the bullshit out of you!”
There’s not a sound on the garage. Jon is wide-eyed and mouth open, paralyzed on the spot. Tig and Chibs, the wonder-duo, had adverted their gaze to anywhere expect her imposing frame, and Juice’s expression is a mix of confusion, and admiration.
“Whoa Sans, didn’t mean to upset ya” he said in an apologetic tone
“Just forget it, I’ll take him. C’mon Eddie, let’s go”
Sansa stormed out, pulling her car keys out of her back pocket, followed closely by an agonized prospect. She never meant to snap like that, specially at Juice, whose company she’d learned to appreciate over time, pet names aside. He was funny and kinda sweet, although a little empty-headed. She would apologized when she returned from the hospital, she had decided. But for now, she wanted to leave him feeling guilty for pushing her buttons a little too far. As she was reaching the door, she heard Juice’s voice “Damn Jon, ya sis got some big balls of steel!”
*~*~*~*
Jax enjoyed these little private times with Abel. Of course, for the baby it was all the same, whether he was there or not, but for him it meant the world. Abel was his world, at least, the innocent part of him that he hoped to preserve unstained. There was no hope for him and Wendy, no love left, but for Abel he knew, in his heart, that he had something good left to give.
So he would visit his baby son, and he would talk with him, for him, for a couple of hours everyday. And the baby responded well to his voice, Tara had said, as he was growing strong everyday. Jax couldn’t be more proud of the little ass-kicker.
The only matter he was still wary of was Tara, as in being around Tara and not get his heart broken, again. Tara had bailed on him once, and he knew that if things went south she’d do it again, it was her classic MO. Still, having her around once more made him optimistic, thinking that maybe this time she would stay with him.
But did he wanted her to stay? With him, for the matter? If felt bittersweet, thinking of Tara, looking back to their childhood good times and the way they’d loved one another without remembering the way he felt when she left. The hurt of the betrayal was still very present on his mind, and he wasn’t sure he could trust her again like he used to, specially now, that a wrong turn, a bad decision could affect directly the club, and his family.
And, to complicate things further, as if they weren’t a big mess as they were already, there was the growing infatuation on a certain redheaded goddess, a crush he didn’t seem to have any control of, that was leaving him a sleepless moron and a daydreamer, like a love-fool. He hated the power she had over him, even if she didn’t know it. She was too good for his lifestyle, anyway. What would happen to the sweet Sansa, being thrown into a world of chaos, blood and violence? He would never let that happen to her, he had decided, she deserved better.
Jax waved goodbye to Tara, and glance once over to Abel, as he left the nursery. He walked his confident stride, but he knew his face showed different, a bit gloomy. He hated when he was logical. Now he was brooding, he though to himself. What in the hell was she doing to him!?
As he walked by the emergency room, he noticed a tall frame of a woman with hair the colour of fire, that even behind a curtain he could see the bright shades of red, and he stopped abruptly.
“Sansa?” he called, hesitantly, pushing the curtain aside slightly, just enough for him to peek through. She turned around, in surprise, but as soon as her eyes met his her face softened, and she gave him one of those smiles that race his heart, boiled his blood, and shook his bones.
“Oh- hey Jax” she said gently, and he rushed forward
“What happened?” he asked, and she raised her hand, pointing at Half-Sack. He was lying in the stretch facing down, his bloody butt-cheek sticking out of the hospital robe.
Jax raised his brow at Sansa, the curiosity of the situation making him grin, or maybe it was the sinful looks she was sending him as she spoke.
“Juice shot him in the ass with a nail gun”
Jax crossed his arms over his chest, trying really hard not to laugh his ass off. He looked at the boy, and back at Sansa, who was looking back at him, biting her lower lip, obviously trying not to laugh too. So fucking adorable.
“Well, I bet you can find a good use to that hole too” he finally said, mockingly, not being able to hold it in anymore
“Oh, screw you Jax!” Eddie yelled, raising his head at him, flustered
“I just might let you, if I can use the new hole” he said, winking at him, as Sansa made a repulsed expression and shove him aside, making him finally burst in laughter
“Jax, what are you still doin-?” Tara walked in, but stopped abruptly as she noticed he was not alone.
“Tara, this is Sansa and Half-Sack, they work at the autoshop. Tara’s the doc looking after Abel, and she’s an old-friend” Jax explained, the latter part more directly at Sansa, although he wasn’t sure why
Tara glance at Sansa quickly, as she walked towards the stretch, holding the patient chart, analyzing it “It’s a small puncture, there’ll be no need for stitches. Just the tetanus shot and a bandage, and he’s out in 20 minutes, max”
“Thank you” Sansa said with a soft smile, and Tara smiled back
“Well, in that case I’m going back to the TM. Sans, need a lift?” he cursed himself under his breath, Tara was looking at him with curiosity
“Nah, I’ll wait for Eddie”
Eddie? What the fuck!? When did he became Eddie!?
“Besides, I brought my car” she finished with an apologetic smile
“Sure, whatever” he tried to sound casual, uninterested, but by the way Sansa looked confused, and Tara amused, he knew he was failing miserably. He needed to get out of there, quickly. He grabbed a cig as he turned around to the exit, already knowing the reaction he would draw out of Tara
“NO SMOKING INSIDE THE HOSPITAL!”
*~*~*~*
Sansa watched as Jax left the room, unsure of what to think of what had just happened. Jax looked uneasy when Tara joined them, they obviously had more in common than an old-friendship. Not that Sansa cared, anyways. Okay, maybe she cared a little. Tara was stunning, and she had a medical degree. She was no croweater.
“Hey, I’m gonna stop by Abel’s, do you wanna come with me?” Tara asks, and Sansa hesitates “It won’t take long, it’s just enough time for the nurse to take care to your friend”
Sansa couldn’t decline, it would be rude. So she nodded, and followed quietly the doctor into the nursery, stopping dead in her tracks as she saw the baby. Abel was lying inside an incubator, tubes covering his small frame and dressed only in a diaper. Sansa felt herself gasp at the sight of the fragile body, a recent scar covering most of his chest.
“He was born with an hereditary heart condition, passed on from Jax’s family” Tara noted, as she walked closer to the incubator. She looked back at Sansa, who was petrified at the door, and made a motion with her hand, pleading for her to join her.
“He was also born premature, due to his mother’s drug abuse”
“I know, Gemma told me” Sansa heard herself say, low and mechanical, as she could not advert her eyes from Abel. She felt herself grabbing hold of her own left wrist, brushing her finger softly over the handkerchief she wore folded as a bracelet. Don’t think about it. Don’t think about him...
“You need to be careful with Gemma” Tara said, and Sansa looked away from the baby, right into her eyes “There’s nothing she wouldn’t do for her family. And that makes her dangerous”
Sansa wasn’t a stupid girl. She knew Gemma was dangerous. They all were.
“I know what Gemma is, I know what they all are capable of” her gaze was intense, determined “But my brother Jon is a member of the club, so this is my home now. They can’t frighten me”
Tara shook her head, recognizing the eminent defeat, as the end of her mouth curled up slightly, obviously impressed by Sansa’s boldness. From now on she would think twice before underestimate Sansa ever again, for sure.
“May God help you then”
A.N.//- Well, here’s the second chapter! Didn’t expected to finish it so soon, but I’m really excited with this story progression. If the end seemed rushed, it’s because the chapter was getting long, and I didn’t wanted to break it in two. There will be plenty of Sansa and Tara interactions in the future, I promisse!
Sorry for any mispellings, english is not my native language, and I don’t have a beta-reader. Feedback = Love!

The restaurant was nearing the end of dinner rush by the time you arrived, which meant that Hoseok and you were able to get seated at a booth in a moderately quiet area. It was a blessing that there weren’t any kids nearby.
“It’s been way too long,” Hoseok groaned, leaning back in his seat across from you.
“Sue doesn’t take you?” You couldn’t help but ask, slipping your jacket and purse off and stuffing them against the wall. Before leaving, you had exchanged your hoodie for a thin maroon sweater that had triangle cut outs along the neckline and chest. You even slipped on a pair of black bootie heels and threw on light makeup. All while mentally telling yourself that this was in fact, not a date. You had not asked Hoseok out on a date. It was just two best friends going out to dinner.
Hoseok frowned as he took a deep breath. “No. I think the last time we came here, Colin had been with us. He didn’t like going out to a restaurant and having to cook the food himself.”
It was impossible for you to not roll your eyes, making a face at the mention of Colin’s name once again. That didn’t unmissed by Hoseok who softly chuckled. “It’s alright, the guys and I have been here a few times on our own. Just hard to get all seven of us in one place for food at once.”
“Why didn’t you tell me? I would have made time for us to come down here.”
He just shrugged, taking a sip of the soda he had ordered. Before he could say a word, the waiter came by with the raw meat and vegetables, setting everything, including the side dishes, on the side. With everything sorted out and the grill that was built into the table was turned on, he promptly left.
Under the restaurant’s lighting, Hoseok was undeniably handsome tonight. He was wearing all black. A leather jacket, his t-shirt, his ripped skinny jeans and boots, were all black. And with his wonderfully skin kissed tan skin, something you were jealous of from time to time, it made you wonder if he had dressed like this on purpose.
“Don’t worry Strawberry,” Hoseok spoke, smirking as if he knew that you were checking him out the entire time. “I’ll man the grill. I know how much you suck at doing this part.
You immediately pouted, resting your elbow on the table to lean your cheek against your palm. “I don’t suck, I just have poor technique.”
Hoseok laughed as he put the meat on the grill, his eyes crinkling up in the corner as he shook his head. The light above you reflected back on the silver rings he was wearing, making you die on the inside. Somehow, some way, he found out about your weakness for men wearing all black and rings. There was no way he dressed like this when he was just hanging out with his friends.
Then again, it was the majority of the female population’s dream to see the guy they liked dressed all dark and mysterious.
“Besides, I’m here with you now. That’s all that matters.” His brown eyes met your gaze, his words going around your mind on repeat as he gave you a tender smile. One that said more than words ever could.
Oh, dear God. If that didn’t make you want to lean across the table and kiss him right then and there, you didn’t know what would.
You had seen that smile before, had even envied that smile, but you never saw it on Hoseok. You saw it every time Namjoon looked at Katie, his mate. Despite the fact you never understood what Sue saw in Colin, she gave him that same smile.
It was a smile that you always wished your ex boyfriends would look at you with but never did.
Pressing your lips together, you were the first to break eye contact to look back down at the grill, hoping you weren’t blushing. Even if you were, you’d blame it on the heat from the grill.
Hoseok was proud though, his smile widening when you finally looked away. He had been kicking himself ever since you mention dinner earlier. After all that he had planned and put together, he somehow managed to forget that. However, this was better. Eating his favorite food with the woman he’s in love with…nothing could get better than this.
If he kept playing his cards right, you’d be his girl, and he’d be able to tell you about being his mate. All he needed now was to figure out why Sue had sent him those texts, have you accept him, and he’d be the happiest hybrid alive.
The sizzling of meat drew him back from his day dream. Grabbing his chopsticks, he flipped the meat over. “Can you start putting some of the vegetables on?” He pointed to several of the cups so you would know which ones.
With careful hands, you used the chopsticks to scoop out the food. It might not he been as if fast if Hoseok were doing it, but you preferred taking your time, especially when there was a hot grill right in front of you. “How was Namjoon?” You asked, remembering that he hadn’t mention it when you got home.
“Uh, pretty good.” He slowly answered, focusing on one piece of meat that he couldn’t get a grip on. “Took him to Seokjin’s finally.” The last thing he wanted to do was lie to you, but he didn’t want you finding out the exact truth just yet.
“Is he still making those exotic coffees?”
Hoseok raised an eyebrow as he moved around the vegetables you placed on for him. “Yes, and somehow they manage to not taste as nasty as you’d think.” He was silent for a moment, and then continued. “You know you can go down to the café whenever you want, right? It’s not only for hybrids.”
“I know, but that’s your guys spot. Plus, I’d feel like I’d be stepping in on guy time for some reason if I just showed up.”
“Should I tell that to the other female hybrids who go to Seokjin’s?”
You had been stirring the ice in your drink with your straw when he said that, your hand pausing, eyes lifting to look up at him. “That’s not what I meant,” you softly said.
The sudden emotion you were hit with surprised you. It wasn’t the fact that he talked to other women, it’d be insane for you to be jealous over something like that. It all quite literally, came down to genetics. Those women were hybrids. You weren’t.
Deep down you know it was stupid to get jealous over. The logical side of you kept reminding you that hybrids took humans as mates too. But the emotional part pushed that away, convincing you that Hoseok wanted a female hybrid for his mate. Someone who he could relate to. Someone who wasn’t his best friend.
Hoseok glanced up at you, sensing the wave of sadness despite the neutral expression you wore. His mind raced to figure out what it was that made you suddenly feel this way, hoping that it wasn’t something that he said. An instinctive whine tried to escape his lips, but he pressed his lips together to force it back. He didn’t remain silent for long.
“Come with me next time,” he blurted out, catching you off guard. “To Seokjin’s café. Next time I go, come with me.” That had to be the reason you were suddenly sad, Hoseok thought. If you went with him then all would be well. Right? Plus, he really the idea of being able to take you out again, so much so that his tag wagged against the back of his seat.
The corner of your mouth curled up in a smile, but your mind and emotions were arguing back and forth. There was still a chance that Hoseok’s mate would be a hybrid, and there was nothing that you would be able to do about it. You were just going to have to accept it when that day came.
“You sure?” You asked. Lifting your head off your hand, your fingers tugged at the sleeves of your sweater as you glanced at the food. With a start, you were surprised to see that the majority of it was done cooking. He just started to dish some of it out, handing you a bowl of white rice.
“Yes Strawberry,” Hoseok firmly said. He even stopped what he was doing to look at you, trying to fix whatever happened. Whether or not it was even his fault, he wanted to make you happy again. “I’m not saying that because Seokjin would love to see you at his café, although I’m pretty sure he would. But because I want you there. And it won’t be you intruding on guy time, I promise. We can plan out a day, that it’s just the two of us drinking coffee that shouldn’t taste good but does while scarfing down Jin’s pastries.”
You licked your lips, prolonging your answer. There was no special meaning to his words. If anything, they were just words with a promise of one day getting together to hang out. At least, that’s what you were trying to convince yourself of.
Words were always just going to be words, but the way he said them, that made all the difference. He spoke with such an intensity that your heart quivered that was why you reacted to them. There were no words that left for you to say, because as simple as his were, they were extraordinary. Maybe you were overthinking, reading way too far into what he was asking.
For the rest of dinner, everything seemed to be smooth sailing; Hoseok’s face relaxing as his tail wagged underneath the table when he finally got to eat. He even got you to laugh when he caught a pickled cucumber in his mouth after convincing you to toss it for him. Your mind on the other hand, was still processing it all. It continued to do so long after the two of you left the restaurant to go back to the apartment, disappearing into your respective rooms.
Dinner was still on your mind at midnight, your Literature textbook sitting abandoned on the blankets next to you. Emerson would have to wait until tomorrow for his deep thoughts about life, there was only one person occupying your mind tonight, and he was sleeping in the room next door.
Your heart raced as you remember the way his hand felt on your back when walking out of the restaurant. Soft and reassuring, a promise that he wasn’t going anywhere. Then again when entering the apartment. The gesture was so simple but it instantly brought forth daydreams of him living in the apartment with you, permanently instead of temporary. You tried to tell yourself that wasn’t possible as you dressed for bed. You weren’t his owner, Sue was.
That didn’t stop them.
These moments and daydreams, sudden as they were, continued to come even faster. Going to the café together, him showing you how to dance, long walks whenever and wherever the two of you felt like it, waking up in his arms. They were so sweet and so short that they left you wanting more. Sniffing, you blinked and the furniture in you room blurred. Tentatively touching your cheek, you were shocked when your fingers came back wet with tears.
With your head leaning back against the headboard, you pulled the blankets up to your chin as you stared at a picture of you and Hoseok on your nightstand. You remembered that day. The two of you had been sitting on the couch waiting for Sue to hurry up, planning an all-day trip to the mall or somewhere. Hobi had been on his phone when you suddenly called out his name, quickly smiling when he saw that you had it on selfie mode.
“Why Hobi?” you barely whispered to yourself, taking the textbook and setting it on your night stand before rolling over to your side. “Why did you have to make it sound like a date?”
The only way you were getting an answer was if you went to his room and asked him yourself, but you couldn’t. You were to scared that when you asked, he would just say he meant it as two friends getting coffee. Like how he and Namjoon went there earlier.
If that was the answer you got, your heart was going to be broken beyond repair. It was too late to back out of it now. You said yes to him Hoseok during dinner, but under the wrong context. You’re aching heart wanted to go to Seokjin’s with Hobi as a date, but your mind forced you to settle for a friendly get together instead.

i don't want you to feel forced into posting something that you might not like just because of me tho :( i actually loved that part tho, truly.
Oh I don’t feel forced at all! Honestly, I love sharing what I’ve worked on, even if it’s stuff like this. I just don’t have a lot that’s shareable and I wasn’t sure if anyone would actually want to read a sloppy outline. Just pretend it’s like an entire fic minus all non-essential words and details. 💜
So after the end of this, Louis goes about life, helping out with Harry whenever he can, just hanging out, chilling for two weeks. Harry mentions Lara coming on Saturday to go over all the legal stuff with him like guardianship and such and Louis asks if Harry wants him to take Dory for the day. Harry says no, she’s kind of all he’s got right now. Louis stupidly says, “you’ve got me, too, H.”
Louis gets a phone call one night while he’s picking out an outfit to wear for a date. Harry wants him to come over, Louis can’t, says he’s going out. “With the lads? God, I haven’t been out in over a month. If I had known, I would have called a sitter or my mum or–” “It’s not with the lads, Harry. It’s with a guy I met the other day.” “Like… like a date?” “Yes, Like a date.” “Oh,” is all Harry says, and then it’s quiet on the phone for a long time.
Louis goes on the date. It isn’t half bad and the guy is pretty sweet, even manages to get a goodnight kiss out of Louis, but Louis doesn’t invite him inside. As he’s getting ready for bed, Harry texts him saying the baby woke him up and now he can’t fall back asleep, and is Louis still up because he’s bored. Louis goes to answer before he realizes what Harry is doing. He’s fishing for information, trying to find out if Louis ended up going home with the guy or if they ended up sleeping together. Louis doesn’t answer, shuts his phone off, goes to sleep.
Louis goes to Liam’s one night for their monthly lad’s dinner. Overhears Niall and Liam talking about needing to get Harry some sort of rebound. “Why?” Harry asks. “Weren’t you just whining to me the other day about how you haven’t had sex in what? Like six months?” “Well, yeah,” Harry says, “but I didn’t mean it like that. I’m not looking to hook up with someone.” No one mentions the fact that Harry and Lara only split about a month ago.
Niall ends up inviting everyone over for a BBQ. Louis goes to grab a beer and gets roped into a conversation with someone who clearly starts flirting with him. They accidentally end up chatting for a quite a while until the guy’s friend comes up to tell him they’re leaving. The guy gives Louis his number even though Louis knows he’ll never call him. He heads back to where he last saw Zayn and Harry and sees them sitting at the edge of Niall’s patio, in the middle of what looks like a conversation he doesn’t want to interrupt. He ends up at the snack table instead but Harry picks his head up, catches his eye, and he looks pale and tired. Louis offers him a small smile but Harry doesn’t really smile back, and after he finishes grabbing some food, he goes back to find out Harry is gone.
Louis leaves the party and shows up at Harry’s flat where Harry is folding laundry and baby clothes. Harry blames leaving the BBQ on separation anxiety, but Louis knows it’s more than that. They end up watching some Netflix on Harry’s laptop in Harry’s bed, and when Harry falls asleep and Louis goes to shut his computer off, he sees the background of Harry’s desktop is a photo of Harry with a giant grin on his face, holding Dory in the park, Louis beside them.
A few weeks later, Harry takes Dory to the park with Niall. “Uncle Niall,” Harry calls him. Everyone is an uncle. It’s Uncle Niall, Uncle Zayn, Uncle Liam, but never Uncle Louis and Louis doesn’t know if it’s because of the fight, of the six months of radio silence, or because he wasn’t at the hospital, or just because he doesn’t mean as much to Harry anymore, if they ruined that, but he doesn’t get it and it kind of hurts. “How come you never call me Uncle Louis?” he asks one night, after Niall goes home. “I don’t know. You’re just… Uncle seems like something you’d call your best mates.” “And I’m not one of your best mates?” “Well, you are, yeah, but you’re like. You’re more than that? I’m always going to think of you as more than that.”
Louis asks how the park was. “We cried ‘cause we were too hot,“ Harry says, “then we cried because we wanted Uncle Niall’s ice lolly and then we cried some more because the ice lolly was too cold for us, isn’t that right Dory?” They’re sitting in Harry’s living room, Dory crawling between them. They tire her out and Harry goes to give her a cool bath before putting her to bed. He comes back and Louis’ sitting on the counter, eating his own ice lolly. “I could go for one of those,” Harry says. “Sorry, H. I got the last one.” Harry pouts and moves to stand between Louis’ legs. Louis lets him have a few licks while they talk, trading licks, whatever, until both their mouths are stained red and Louis drops the stick in the sink. They just stay there talking, Harry’s hands eventually finding Louis’ knees, fingers dancing up his thighs to the bottom of his shorts, and then they kiss and it’s sticky and sweet and they taste like raspberries and Harry’s fingers are trembling a little on Louis’ thighs, and then Dory starts crying and Louis can’t do this again. He promised himself he wouldn’t do this again, let Harry into his heart again, give him the chance to hurt him again.
So he runs out and drives home, doesn’t bother going up to his flat, just panic walks around the city until he ends up at Zayn’s. Zayn isn’t home, he’s actually at Harry’s watching Dory because Harry ran off to Louis’ thinking Louis would be there. Zayn talks him through it. “You know what the first thing he said to me was?” Zayn asks “When he called me after he told you Lara was pregnant, it wasn’t ‘Holy shit, Zayn, I’m going to be a father.’ It was ‘I lost him, Zayn. I just lost the most important thing in my life and I don’t know if I’ll ever get him back. Louis you mean the world to him. Just talk to him.”
[FLASHBACK TO THE MIDDLE OF THE PREGNANCY WHEN HARRY AND LOUIS HAVEN’T BEEN SPEAKING FOR A FEW MONTHS]
He’s in the car one day with Zayn, and Zayn’s phone goes off and Louis grabs it, sees it’s Harry, and Zayn says it’s fine, he’ll call back later. But then the phone rings again immediately after and Louis doesn’t care, really he doesn’t, so he hits answer and holds it to Zayn’s ear and Zayn can’t really hear him so he tells Harry to hang on one minute because he’s in the car and looks to Louis to see if it’s okay, then puts him on speaker. Harry’s having a panic attack. Hyperventilating, freaking out, fumbling his words over not being a good dad, not being ready for this, not knowing what the fuck he’s doing, and Louis knows that if they were still talking, Harry would have called him first, like the time his dad left and he called Louis during a panic attack and Louis had to sneak out in the middle of the night to get him to fucking breathe again, like the time Harry sat him down and sobbed into his neck that he thinks he likes boys too. So Louis knows Zayn’s not going to know how to deal with this unless Zayn’s taken over for him these past few months and has been on the receiving end of these types of calls lately.
But Harry isn’t calming down, he’s just getting worse. And as much as it’s going to kill Louis to do this, it’s killing him even more having to listen in. “Harry?” he interrupts. The other line goes silent. For a terrible second, Louis thinks Harry’s hung up on him, and then there’s a sob on the other end, a heartbreaking, choked, shuddery, wet sob that’s worse than anything Louis’ ever heard and while Harry was just hyperventilating before, he’s full on crying now and it’s Louis’ fault. “Harry you need to breathe, yeah? You need to listen to me. Just listen to my voice and take a deep breath.“ But Harry isn’t getting any closer to calming down. “Harry, you’re going to make yourself pass out,” Louis tries again. “Haz, babe, you gotta breathe.” He doesn’t mean to slip back to those names, but they seem to hit something in Harry because Louis hears him suck in a long, giant breath, once, twice, and then there’s a broken, trembling “Louis,” on the other end and it’s like Louis’ his best friend again, trying to get him to calm down in darkness of his tiny bedroom back in Holmes Chapel.
Louis ends up blabbering on with him about having nothing to worry about, he’s going to be a great dad, the best dad, he’s always been so good with kids, with Louis’ sisters, with the little twins when they were born, he has nothing to worry about. “You’re going to be great, Harry, your baby’s going to love you and you’re going to take such good care of them.” “Her,” Harry chokes out and Louis’ about to ask what he means when Harry cuts back in with “I’ll take good care of her. She’s a girl, Lou. Found out last week. I’m having a little girl.” And the way his voice changes, softens, relaxes, Louis knows he really is going to be the best father out there. Eventually he calms down and Louis takes him off speaker and Zayn goes inside and Louis ends up sitting in Zayn’s car for the next two hours, catching up with his best friend and erasing the past five months of silence from their lives.
[PRESENT DAY]
Louis walks home and Harry is sitting outside his door, leaning against the wall covered in a blanket and asleep. Louis sits next to him and nudges him awake and they talk and Louis tells Harry he understands why Harry decided to leave him when he found out Lara was pregnant. “I didn’t have to do it like that, though,” Harry says. “I know H, and we discussed that already and that’s okay. I just can’t. I can’t have you breaking my heart again. You’re like… you’re it for me, H, and if I lose you again, if this doesn’t work-“ “It’ll work, I promise. I promise, Lou, you’re it for me too, you’ve always been it and I’m so sorry I ever thought otherwise.” They talk it out and Louis is holding Harry’s hand through all of this. He tilts Harry’s face to kiss him and Harry is shaking through it. “It’s okay, Harry, it’s okay.” “I know, I know, I’m just. I’m nervous.” “You’re nervous? Do I make you nervous, H?” “A bit, yeah.” They kiss and Harry is still trembling and Louis feels a tear roll down Harry’s cheek. “Crying now, too?” “I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I’m just so… happy. You make me so happy, Lou. God, I love you.” They kiss for a long time and fall asleep in Louis’ bed. When they wake up it’s noon and it’s raining outside, the heat wave finally breaking.
[FLASH FORWAD] Louis wakes Harry up on Christmas Eve and it’s snowing outside and Dory is almost three and Louis is a few months away from marrying the love of his life.
And thaaat’s it! Really, if anyone wants to steal any of this, go ahead! Just let me know so I can read it in the end 🙈

Just Friends Part 3 (Archie x Reader)
Word Count: 3375
A/n: Final part. I hope you guys like it. I honestly had so much trouble figuring out how to end this and I hope i did it justice
Masterlist - Part 1 - Part 2
Archie was determined to win you over, to prove that you loved him as much as he loved you and to prove that you two belong together. Only, none of it was working. As much as Archie tried, you stuck it out with Reggie by your side.
He did everything you would have loved if you weren’t already in a relationship. He was as sweet and thoughtful as ever. But you would never turn your back Reggie like that, he deserved better.
Archie even went as far as helping your mom with her garden and she absolutely loved him for it. She always liked the thought of you and Archie together but she wasn’t opposed to you being with someone else as long as they treated you right.
She didn’t mind Reggie, both times you had gotten with him he was always respectful and well mannered around her but she just didn’t think he was your type. After all, mother knows best.
You brushed off what your mom told you. Like, okay it’s good to know whose side your on. Obviously not yours but Archie’s.
After repeating to her for the millionth time that you two were just friends she rolled her eyes and left your room.
Archie did small things here and there to get your attention. One of the most memorable was when you were all attending a BBQ at the Cooper residence.
You were sitting with Veronica and Betty when Archie came up to your table. Unfortunately, you were in the middle of eating a hot dog when he quoted your favorite movie which almost made you choke.
“Is that a wiener in your mouth or are you just happy to see me?”
Betty was confused but Veronica burst out into full blown laughter. You on the other hand were stunned into silence. One, that was so cheesy since it was from one of your favorite movies. But two, it meant he payed attention enough to know how much you loved that line.
Even though it was entertaining, you laughed it off as just something a best friend would say. “Ha ha. Very funny Arch.” You went back to eating and talking to B and V.
On the other hand, the time he sent you flowers was a bit awkward since you had been hanging out with Reggie at your house when your mother announced the delivery.
“Y/n, these flowers just came for you.” She came into the living room carrying an arrangement of your favorite flowers where you and Reggie were watching a movie. He had been laying his head on your lap while you played with his hair.
Reggie sat up and while you made your way towards your mom. She handed them to you and left the room.
When you took a hold of them you inhaled their sweet scent. The thought that Reggie had remembered they were your favorite, really showed he was trying. It warmed your heart and made you smile in appreciation. “They’re so beautiful, Reg” you said while adding, “You didn’t have to buy me flowers” even though you loved that he did.
His face contorted into a sour expression, “I didn’t.” You tilt your head to the side, not understanding. “Is there a card?” he asked.
You survey the bouquet and find a small note card attached. You open it up and read:
Only the best flowers for my best girl -A. Andrews
Reggie read it from over your shoulder and you felt him tense beside you. “Hey,” you set the flowers down and reach for him. “Don’t worry about it. I chose you, remember?”
He sighs looking very torn. Without meeting your gaze he says, “I can’t help but doubt whether you choosing me was the right thing to do. What if you would be better off with Andrews?.”
I broke your heart to see him so self conscious and vulnerable. “Don’t talk like that Reggie. I’m going to have a serious talk with him about stopping all this nonsense. It’s getting out of hand.”
He nodded and you went back to couch to finish the movie, the flowers forgotten.
As much as he hated to admit it, Reggie couldn’t help but notice the way your lips would slightly curve into a small smile whenever Archie said or did something to win you over. And always right before you reassure him that you don’t want anything romantic to do with Archie. As much as it hurt, he knew what he had to do.
Before you could gather the courage to discuss the issue with Archie, Reggie cornered him in the locker room.
“Andrews! I don’t know what your problem with me is but you need to leave Y/n alone. She made her choice.”
Archie sighed, “Reggie I know we were friends before all this mess but I told you not to ask her out again. I begged you not to.”
He scoffed, “Why shouldn’t I have asked her out? Hm? You were never going to do it.” He crossed his arms and shook his head. “I love Y/n. I really do and I’m not going down without a fight.” The words left his lips without hesitation.
Archie didn’t know how to respond to that. He had no idea how strongly Reggie felt towards you. He looked down in shame realizing what he had been doing was wrong. Reggie was right, you had made your choice and that wasn't him.
He took a deep breathe before saying, “I’m sorry. I was blinded by my own feelings to even think about yours.”
Reggie just nodded in acknowledgement.
“I was consumed with the thought of being her second choice and I didn’t like it. I wanted so bad for her to choose me.” He paused before adding, “Also, I just didn’t want you to break her heart again.”
Reggie laughed at that, “I know you think I broke her heart, but in reality she broke mine.” Archie looked confused, he thought it was Reggie who had broken up with you but he continued to listen anyway. “And you know what I think? She’s breaking her own heart over your actions. If you really want what’s best for her, you’ll trust her to be able to make her own decisions on who she wants to be with.”
Without another word Reggie walked out leaving a stunned Archie. Not only did the way the conversation differ from anything the old Reggie would have said, it proved how much Reggie loved and trusted you. It was something Archie realized he didn’t have towards you. At least not completely. He obviously didn’t trust that you would ever love him back enough to admit his feelings to you.
At this point three people were torn between decisions of the heart. Archie, Reggie, and Y/n.
A couple weeks had passed and things seemed to be normal again. Y/n and Archie were back on speaking terms with the occasional awkward moments but it felt great to have your friend back.
You and Reggie were doing well together and you were genuinely happy. So, when Reggie sent you that ‘we need to talk’ text, you freaked out. You assumed the worst thinking that of course Reginald Mantle was incapable of change and that he was back to his old player ways.
That of course was not the case.
Reggie showed up at your house shortly after.
You cut to the chase not wanting to beat around the bush, “Reggie what’s going on? You don’t just send a girl a text that says ‘we need to talk’ without breaking up. Is it something you did? Is it something I did?” You rambled on wanting an answer but at the same time you were stalling. Whatever it was, you were scared it was going to hurt you.
Reggie walked you over to sit on the couch in the living room. You two sat facing each other and he took your hands in his and gave them a gentle squeeze.
“Look,” he hesitated but he was determined to get it out, “I know you said you wanted messy and complicated, but the truth is you never really wanted that with me. You wanted that with Andrews.”
You wanted to protest his words but you knew they had some truth to them.
“And that’s okay. These past couple of weeks have been fun but I can see that deep down you’re miserable.”
You shake your head, “You’re wrong. I feel happier than I have in so long.” You didn’t know what to say to convince him otherwise. You knew he was going to break up with you and you really didn’t want that. “I love you Reggie” you whisper feeling so defeated.
He smiles down at you with genuine love. “I know you do.” He reaches up and cups your face with one hand. You lean into it feeling the familiar warmth against your cheek. “But you’re not in love with me.”
You close your eyes not wanting to face the truth. Your heart ached and your eyes began to sting.
“The night we got back together, I don’t think you were trying to convince me that you wanted to be with me, I think you were trying to convince yourself.”
You opened your eyes and a tear slid down your cheek. You knew everything he was saying was true. You used Reggie to escape your feelings for Archie and you felt terrible about it.
The realization hurt more than you could ever imagine. You sighed and took his hands back into your own. “How do you not hate me right now? You must have known I was stringing you along. Why wait until now to tell me and not that night?”
He grimaced. “I really did want that second chance. Even knowing that you could never love me back in the same way. I figured I might as well take what I could get.”
“I’m so sorry Reg. It was never my intention to hurt you. How can I ever make it up to you.”
“Well there is one thing… but you’re not going to like it.” He looked at you challengingly.
“I’ll do anything. Please just tell me.”
He stood up and paced your living room for a couple of seconds before finally stopping in front of you and saying, “Admit, not just to me but to yourself, that you are in love with Andrews.” You gasp. “It’s the least you can do.”
You struggle simply thinking about it and Reggie wanted you to say it, out loud no less. “I mean, I do love him. I told you that before.”
“Y/n” he warned.
You groaned knowing only one thing will satisfy him. “Fine! I, Y/f/n y/l/n, am in love with my best friend Archie Andrews. Happy now?”
He shrugged, “Well, not really. Life is going to suck without you by my side.” You pout, feeling guilty. “But I’ll be happy if you’re happy.”
You walk up to him, smile and reluctantly hug him. He tensed for a second but ultimately hugged you back. “You know, one day you are going to make a girl really happy. You’ve really grown up a lot this past year.”
He chuckled. “I did have an amazing teacher.”
Your heart warms because you knew it was his love for you that allowed him to become a better person. You pull back from your hug and look up at him. “We’ll still be friends right?” you asked.
You were nervous for his response but you felt the rumble of laughter through his chest, “Off course we will.”
That filled your who being with relief. It would have been a shame to have gone through so much with Reggie only for you not to be in each others lives.
“Besides, who else is going keep me in line when I do stupid things?” You nodded in agreement.
“So what now?” you ask settling yourself back on the couch.
Reggie follows suit, “Now we plan how you are going to get the guy!”
Days passed and soon those days turned into weeks and you were starting to wonder if Reggie had any clue what he was doing. Every time you asked him what the plan was he would say you didn’t need to know, yet.
It was all too frustrating because the day after your breakup with Reggie the entire school knew and that meant that so did Archie. The frustrating part wasn’t that he knew you were single and didn’t do anything about it, it was that you couldn’t do anything about it. At least not yet. Reggie insisted that you wait for his plan to unfold.
It was also frustrating because there seemed to be a growing tension between you and Archie. Neither of you knew to how to act towards one another. At least when you were with Reggie you didn’t have this burning desire to be kissed by Archie but now it’s all you can think of.
Every little accidental touch or brush against him made you shiver in anticipation. You were just waiting for the day when you can finally call Archie yours.
Today you were waiting for class to end when the loud speakers turned on. Everyone stopped what they were doing to wait for what was to come.
At first it sounded muffled as if someone was trying to get situated but then you heard the familiar voice. It was Reggie.
What the hell was going on?
Right before the bell rang signalling the end of the school day, Reggie said, “Y/n, it’s time. Be in the theater in five minutes.”
What is this boy up to now?
The entire class turned to look at you for answers but you were just as in the dark as everyone else. You shrugged and made your way to the school’s theater.
It was nearly impossible to make it in time since your class was all the way across campus. Damn it Reggie, you thought. Way to give a girl enough time to actually make it in time.
Right as you were nearing the theater you could hear the faint sounds of someone singing. You stopped to try and listen closer.
“I'm falling in,
I'm falling down”
You immediately recognize the song as well as the person singing it.
“I wanna begin
But I don't know how”
It was Archie and he was singing one of your favorite songs.
“To let you know,
How I'm feeling”
You enter the theater and all eyes were on you once again.
“I'm high on hope.
I'm reeling”
As you continued to make your way in, you saw Archie perched on a stool strumming his guitar while singing into a mic.
“And I won't let you go,
Now you know”
He looked up and finally made eye contact with you.
“I've been crazy for you all this time.
I've kept it close
Always hoping”
You had waited so long for those lyrics to come true.
“With a heart on fire,
A heart on fire”
This felt like a dream, a dream you never wanted to wake up from.
“Hand in hand,
Sparkling eyes”
Your heart swelled with so much love it hurt.
“The days are bright,
And so are the nights.
All you could do was stand there and watch him sing while he never took his eyes off of you.
“'Cause when I'm with you I'm grinning.
Once I was through
And now I'm winning”
He smiled his big goofy grin at you and you let out a small tear. This song embodied exactly how you two felt. You two were meant to be together even if it took this long to get here.
“With a heart on fire,
A heart on fire
A heart on fire”
When the song finished, the theater burst into a round of applause. This brought you out of your thoughts and back to reality. For a couple of minutes there, it felt like it was only you and Archie in the room.
For the first time since your eyes found each others, Archie looked away and started speaking into the microphone. “For years I have been in love with my best friend. I never wanted to compromise our friendship in case what I felt was not reciprocated. I almost lost my best friend as well as the love of my life because I hid it for so long. But that ends today.”
He finally looked back at you and said, “I love you Y/n and that is never going to change. If you don’t love me back, I’ll understand but I wanted you and everyone to know that I don’t give up on love that easily.”
He was about to walk off but quickly returned, “One last thing, if you want to make this work, meet me in the first place I ever kissed you.” With those last words he walked away.
You were stunned at how much this whole thing affected you. You hated being the center of attention, you hated the whole world knowing your personal stuff. But with Archie, you just didn’t care. You would literally shout from the rooftops how much you loved this boy. That is how much he meant to you.
Your thoughts were interrupted by your group of friends all questioning whether you were going to meet up with Archie or not.
“Can everyone please stop shouting at me. Yes, of course I’m going. I just have to go home.”
Kevin spoke up first, “Wait, why?”
You gave Kevin a confused look, “That’s where we kissed for the first time… at my front door” everyone looked at you in shock, “right?”
You looked at Veronica but she just shrugged, “Don’t look at me, I only moved here a couple years ago.”
“Don’t you remember he kissed you in first grade after Chuck was mean to you?” asked Betty.
It was coming back to you now. Chuck was mad that you had taken the last basketball at the park so he pushed you and took the ball anyway. You had been crying when Archie found and asked you what happened. He comforted you and told you that Chuck was a jerk and that he himself would never be mean to you. Then he took your hand in his and kissed the back of your palm sealing in that promise.
“It was such an innocent kiss, I almost forgot about it” you said. But you remember that it meant so much to you once upon a time. How could you have almost forgotten it?
In unison all your friends shouted, “What are you waiting for?”
You made it to the park in record time. You looked around and finally spotted Archie on a swing. You sat down on the swing next to him and he had the cutest smile etched on his face. “You made it” was all he said.
“Yeah, I guess I did.”
You both stayed silent for a while, the only sounds to be heard were to slight creaking of the swings.
“I’m sorry” you both say at the same time then chuckle.
“Let me go first” said Archie. “Y/n I’m sorry I waited to long to tell you how I felt and I’m sorry for all the pain it’s caused you.”
“What’s love without a little war?” you chuckle. He smiled back in response. “I’m sorry too, for pushing you away and making everything so awkward with Reggie.”
“Awkward yes. But he did push me to try one more time before completely giving up. So there is that.”
“Yes. There is that” you agreed.
You say silent again while gazing into each other’s eyes.
“I love you Archie Andrews” you whisper. The way the words rolled off your tongue no longer feeling foreign.
Still on the swings, Archie leans over and connects his lips with yours in a slow kiss. When he pulls back he says, “And I love you, Y/n Y/l/n”
You smirk, “As just friends?”
He laughs and leans in again and rests his forehead against yours, “Definitely as more than just friends.”

bbqs and pillow forts (wc: 1,073)
(a bear in the bed)
Out of all of her brother’s boyfriends that Taylor can remember, Geno is her favorite. It’s no contest.
She’s a little hesitant to like Geno at first. Geno’s been nothing but cordial and pleasant in the few times that she’s met him but so were the others. (Maybe not Wayne, but really nobody really liked Wayne. He was a real piece of work.) It’s hard to be too suspicious with the way her nephew just loves him.
Geno’s just, like, so cool, Aunt Taylor. Geno can play hockey, Aunt Taylor. Geno and Aly have a dog, Aunt Taylor. Do you think Dad will let us get a dog, Aunt Taylor? Geno’s house is huge, Aunt Taylor. Do you think Dad and I will get a house like that one day?
So, Geno must be some kind of magic man.
Sid is Taylor’s only brother which means it’s her sisterly duty to be protective over him. She can’t really because they’re both grown adults, although she’ll do her best. If that means snooping for information from her nephew, she’s certainly not above that.
Kids are honest, which makes Avery the best source of information.
“So, what did you do today, kiddo?” she asks. The Skype video is fuzzy with how bad the rink’s wifi is.
Avery moves, his hands just pixelated blurs. “Geno took me and Dad to the zoo! We couldn’t see the elephants ‘cause they were sleeping but we got to take a picture with the lions. Did you know the girl lions do the hunting? Isn’t that cool?”
“Super cool,” she confirms. “Have your dad send me the picture. I’m gonna need a new wallpaper soon.”
The wifi momentarily freezes, then resets to show her nephew brandishing a stuffed elephant up close to the camera as Avery attempts to give Taylor the best view of his new toy.
“Aly bought it for me! She’s got a job so she didn’t even have to ask her dad for money,” he explains.
Taylor smiles. “That’s real nice of her. Seems like Geno is pretty awesome.”
“The awesomest,”
Reconnaissance continues at a team BBQ.
Sidney knows much of her hockey team already. She’s been with them for three years now so they might be even on alert even more intensely than Taylor.
Her big brother is their big brother.
“You need help grill?” Geno asks Katie, hovering over her. He’s politely declined every beer offered to him because apparently, he and Sid discussed who would be the DD before driving out today. That’s a thing they do.
Taylor’s impressed.
“No thanks, I got it, G. Could you get some plates ready though? My hands are kinda full,” Katie asks, laughing as she clicks her tongs together. Her other hand is slightly slippery from touching the hot dogs.
“Course,” Geno replies.
An hour later, all the food is cooked and the first round is served.
Sid has been bombarded by her teammates from the moment they stepped on the property. Taylor thinks Abby’s brother might have a bit of a crush if the way he’s been acting like Sid’s shadow is any indication. It makes her feel a bit on edge. Spencer certainly would never stand for someone - even a guy even younger than Taylor - flirting with Sid.
What kind of guy is Geno?
“I’m in the club,” Geno is explaining, not even noticing Sid, “and this girl not see me. She dancing with Sasha when this guy get too close. She not like that so she try to push him away but I’m get elbow to the face. First time I’m break my nose.”
Quietly, Avery approaches Geno, standing at the man’s elbow as he patiently waits for the story to be over. Nat asks if it hurt a lot as Geno glances down. Avery doesn’t ask but Geno lifts Avery into his lap anyway, taking the juice box out of her nephew’s hands to open the bottle.
Alexandre wouldn’t do that.
“Didn’t Sid break his nose once too?” Hannah asks, seemingly won over by Geno as well.
Taylor winces. Yeah, Wayne broke it. She settles for a short, “Yeah, once.”
Nat gets the message, elbowing Hannah beneath the table. “Oh,” Hannah replies.
Unfortunately, while Geno doesn’t get it, Avery does. “Geno would never break Dad’s nose though. He promised.”
Caught off guard, Geno almost chokes on his burger. “I’m promise that?” he asks, though more out of confusion than denial. “Not that I would break Sid’s nose. I, uh -”
“Don’t worry about it,” Taylor cuts in to save Geno from floundering. “Wayne was a real piece of work.”
It’s not too surprising that Geno has to excuse himself to catch his breath. Meeting the whole team isn’t easy, especially when they all have their eyes ready to catch any mistakes.
Avery especially wants his aunt to know that. “Geno’s too nice to hit Dad. Except maybe that one time,”
“What do you mean, squirt?” Taylor asks, feeling stiff suddenly.
“Well one night I heard banging from Dad’s room but it stopped after a few minutes. Aly said it was nothing,” Avery explains more interested in his mac ‘n cheese than anything else.
A sigh washes over the table.
Taylor thinks that she might want to tell her brother that the headboard might need to be moved.
Sid, Avery, and Geno sleep over at Taylor’s despite Geno insisting that he drive them home. It’s really not a huge deal to have them over. Sid and Avery have plenty of spare clothes left at her place so only Geno has to sleep in the clothes that he wore all day.
When she comes out of the bathroom to say goodnight, the living room is made over.
All the couch pillows are stacked on top of each other and the bed set she gave them is constructed to make a fort. She can’t see Avery but she hears his little giggles. It’s no guess at all that Geno is there with him, his feet comically sticking out of the fort.
Taylor stays hidden around the corner as she watches her brother come out of the spare bathroom, his hair wet from his shower. He messily dumps his towel onto her couch then crawls into the fort with the rest of his family.
Geno begins to tell Avery a bedtime story, complete with different voices and sound effects.
She smiles. Geno is definitely her favorite.

If Looks Could Kill 6/27
Summary: Emma Swan is a dedicated FBI agent getting over a bad breakup. When she and her partner, Ruby Lucas, are forced to go undercover as contestants on a reality show, Emma is forced to try and win the affections of Killian Jones, a man she despises.
Killian Jones is a lost boy. Having recently been nicknamed the ‘Bad Boy of Boston,’ he’s been living up to his moniker using women and rum to avoid dealing with his dark past. When he’s forced to take the lead in a reality show, he encounters a gorgeous blonde who turns his world upside down.

Emma hadn’t slept well the night before. She had nightmares of federal agents storming her office with guns drawn. She’d dreamt of the handcuffs and the humiliation, and when she woke she couldn’t shake the feeling that something bad was coming.
Due to her lack of sleep, she was cranky. Everyone in the house noticed it and if they knew what was good for them based on the look on her face, they’d avoid her like the plague. Ruby was the only one who didn’t seem to get the memo, unknowingly pushing and prodding at Emma’s old wounds.
Things didn’t get any better that morning when Agent White pulled them aside.
“Girls, I’m so sorry, I tried to get you out of it but the network insists that you do interviews.” Emma shot the pixie a death glance.
“It’s for the promos. Since we’re taping everything before the show airs, they’re using snippets of interviews and sneak peeks to gauge who the audience finds interesting and wants to keep around. All of the other girls gave theirs yesterday, but you two weren’t here. I didn’t even think they’d notice but I guess Killian said something in his interview and they wanted to get your reaction, Emma.”
It wasn’t even seven in the morning and Emma was ready to crawl back into her bed and never return.
“Okay, so what do you need us to do?” Ruby asked.
“Well, don’t kill me,” she winced while looking at Emma, “but I need you to change back into your clothes from yesterday, for continuity, and then come back down here. Agent Charming will try to make it was quick and painless as possible.”
Emma could feel her hands balling up into fists at her side, holding back her desire to lunge at and pummel the poor agent. This entire experience had been a challenge to her sanity and she was going to snap, and soon.
She let Ruby drag her back upstairs where she slipped back into her now wrinkled and stained sundress. Her hair was a matted mess so she threw it back into a topknot, continuity be damned.
When they returned they were ushered into the same interview room Killian had used. Ruby went first answering the interviewers questions with ease while exuding just the right amount of sex appeal.
Emma was still on the verge of starting World War III as she sat down in front of Agent Charming’s camera. She was completely stunned when the interviewer asked his first question.
“So, Emma, there was some obvious chemistry brewing between you and Killian in that first challenge. Can we expect to see anything more sizzling in the future?”
Rage. That was the only way to describe how she immediately felt as her blood began to boil. Between the pixie’s comments that Killian had said something about her, and the interviewer’s question, she was ready to walk out and never come back.
It was only at Ruby’s insistence that she fought the urge. The camera guy pleaded with her to remember why she was there. She gritted her teeth and gave what could only later be described as a maniacal smile. She let Ruby feed her words and as soon as they had the footage she needed she bolted.
Ruby caught her arm just as she was about to charge up the stairs.
“Em,” she tried but Emma cut her off.
“What the hell was that?” She was sure she resembled a feral animal that was being caged up.
Ruby placed both of her hands on Emma’s shoulders and shook the crap out of her. “Stop it. We’ve dealt with worse, so what the hell is your problem?”
“Nothing. I’m fine.”
It was a typical walls up response from Emma. Ruby was right, they had dealt with worse, but she was angry, and had no outlet for it. Normally she had the pleasure of knowing that the jerk she was conning was going to find his way to a nice shiny prison cell, but this time the main source of her aggression was also the person she was supposed to be protecting.
Before they could discuss it further, Agent White was calling all of the girls into the living room.
“Okay, ladies. As you all know the first rose ceremony is coming up in a few days, which means you all need to try your hardest to impress our bachelor if you want to stay.” Emma worried that she may pull something from all of the eye rolling she was doing. “With that said, you’ll each get one more chance to spend time with him in the form of a group date.”
Emma barely listened as Agent White explained that they would be split into three groups again. Killian would spend a few hours with each group on a different day. She listened as ‘Mary Margaret’ called off her name along with six others, included Tamara and Elsa.
She heard Robin tell Ruby that it would be the perfect opportunity to get a peek inside Tamara’s room without her noticing, since both she and her roommate would be in Emma’s group.
Emma and the others would be attending a formal dinner that evening in the dinning room. Ruby was in the second group and would be attending a poolside bbq. She thought she heard one of the girls spout out something about bathing suits being optional. That caused Will to tell Agent Charming that he was a lucky bastard. The last day would be horseback riding.
Emma looked at the clock. She had almost ten hours before her group date. She could feel the walls closing in around her, but for the first time in her life, she couldn’t run. She was trapped, so she did the next best thing. She hid in her room.
Killian was dreading the group dates. As much as he sometimes enjoyed the company of women, it wasn’t exactly thier communication skills that he usually admired. The idea of sitting with these women for almost four hours was torturous.
Mary Margaret had stopped by earlier giving him a list of how the groups had been divided and which days where which dates. As he scanned the list, he couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed seeing Emma’s name on day one.
It wasn’t that he didn’t want to see her, but he had hoped that she be in the horseback-riding group. He wanted to get her heart racing, plus the innuendo practical screamed at him. Also, it meant that after tonight he wouldn’t see her for the rest of the week.
Mary Margaret had also given him a strict list of topics to discuss. He was to ask each of the women about their backgrounds, their hopes and dreams, everything that he didn’t care about. It was going to be a very boring evening.
He still had a few hours to kill before his ‘primp and pramp’ crew were due to arrive so he went for a run hoping to clear his mind, and possible hoping to see a certain blonde out running too. He knew it was unlikely at this time of day, and still wasn’t sure how she and the other girl had managed to sneak out of the mansion undetected, but he still couldn’t help the small pang of disappointment that formed when he got to the docks and no one was there.
He stayed at the docks for a while thinking about everything he had gotten himself into. Two years ago he had his whole life planned out. He was going to propose to Milah. They would travel the world together, touring with the band. By now they might of even had a kid. But then again, Killian Jones wasn’t meant to have the happy ending.
Instead, he was here making a fool of himself. He couldn’t understand how this could possibly help his public image, and he wasn’t even sure if he cared. His music career was dead, his friends all gone, and he swore he would never love again.
He watched the waves rolling in and out until he finally felt a smidgen of calm wash over him. He could do this. Emma would be there tonight and that would keep him entertained. He’d figure out the next two days as they came. Regina had mentioned that he might be able to call Robin or Will on the blackout day that came after each rose ceremony. He just had to hold on a couple more days.
He ran back to the guesthouse, still keeping an eye out for Emma just in case, but she never appeared. He chugged a bottle of water from the fridge, admitting to himself that his newfound sobriety, even if not by choice, was having a positive effect on his body. He didn’t feel as sluggish and crabby anymore.
Once in the shower, he took his time, letting the hot water relax his muscles. As images of the blonde minx rushed through his head, he considered allowing himself to relieve tension elsewhere but decided against it, for the time being at least.
As he exited the shower he wrapped himself in a towel, taking in the time. He still had about thirty minutes before anyone would be there. He sighed and plopped down on his bed and fell asleep.
Ruby had picked out a light pink dress for Emma to wear and helped her pull her hair into a fancy ponytail, as well as helping with applying her makeup. It wasn’t that Emma was trying to impress anyone as much as Ruby was forcing her to dress up.
When Ruby was done and gave Emma her seal of approval, Emma slipped downstairs into the dinning room ignoring the camera crew already in place. No one else had arrived yet. She looked around the room. New darker drapes had been hung over the windows and a fire was lit in a huge fireplace. The table had been set with fancy china and crystal wine glasses were set out along the table.
There was a place setting at one end of the table, clearly designated as the head of the table meant for Killian, while the other end remained empty. She should have picked a spot near Killian, in case Tamara tried to lunge a steak knife at his head, but as she stood there overthinking everything, she found herself migrating to the chair furthest away.
She took her seat and two other girls arrived. They were engrossed in a conversation as they took their seats and Emma remained silent. One at a time, the remaining girls dwindled into the room, with Tamara and Elsa taking to two seats closest to where Killian would sit.
Once all of them were seated, Agent White ushered Killian into the room. He was actually charming for once, undoubtedly having been coached by the pixie on how to behave. He sat at the end of the table and greeted each woman. As he got to her, she noticed what seemed like a flash of disappointment in his eyes, but it was gone so quickly she wasn’t sure if she had imagined it or not.
A caterer appeared with wine filling up each glass to the brim. It was apparent that the network executives hoped alcohol would lower everyone’s inhibitions, judging by how the man was constantly refilling their half empty glasses. A separate man appeared bringing a tray of salads for everyone. It was then that Killian finally spoke.
“So, I thought that this would be a nice intimate way for me to learn a little bit more about each of you. Perhaps we could go around the table and you could each tell me a little about yourself, including your jobs, hopes for the future.”
She averted her gaze as much as possible, focusing intently on a cherry tomato in her salad. When she did look up, she found him watching all of the other girls but not her. She couldn’t understand why she felt slightly disappointed, since she was positive she hated everything about him.
She hated the way he flirted, they way he’s wiggled his eyebrows at her. She hated the way he winked at her, the way he made her blush for no good reason. She hated how cocky he was, and how he viewed women as conquests. She hated how attractive he was and the way he knew it. And most of all, she hated how bothered she was that he was ignoring her.
She really hated how focued he had been while Elsa and Tamara had spoken. Tamara explained that she was a corporate lawyer, clearly news to Emma. She told him that all she really wanted out of life was to find a man that she could treat like a king. It wasn’t original by any means, but it was enough to make Emma want to vomit.
Elsa talked about how she had been to Julliard and was an aspiring musician, pointing out what a great pair she and Killian would make.
Emma really, really hated when Will came through her ear making suggestions of what they actually wanted to do with Killian.
“Oi, I bet she’d love to make some sweet music with him. Maybe try to show him how well she can play an oboe! If Killian were here, he would tell us about how many of these woman have probably screwed a guy to his music while picturing him.”
Emma was still silently fuming at Will, which is why she completely missed the fact that a new plate had arrived in front of her, or that Killian had called her name twice trying to get her attention. His eyes showed a flash of concern, which quickly shifted into a look of victory.
“Sorry, um, not much to tell.”
“Perhaps you’re right. This whole hopes and dreams thing is a bit boring isn’t it? What would you lot say to a game?”
He shifted back in his seat looking like the cat that ate the canary. The other girls at the table squealed in delight and Emma groaned to herself. She really, really, really hated where this was going.
Some of the girls suggested a few games such as twenty questions, never have I ever, and even spin the bottle but Killian shot them all down.
“I’m thinking about a nice round of truth or dare.”
One of the girls clapped excitedly and Emma continued to move some carrots around her plate with her fork.
The game started off pretty innocently. Everyone went back and fourth mostly choosing truth. Around the twenty-minute mark, things started getting a bit more personal. When Killian picked truth, Tamara asked him if he wore boxers or briefs. He asked the girl sitting next to Emma how long it had been since she had sex. One of the girls who was now officially drunk even asked Killian how big it was.
“Trust me, darling, when I say it’s plenty big, and then some.” He punctuated it with a wink.
Emma had remained silent through the entire ordeal, and had never been so grateful to be ignored. It wasn’t until Killian announce that it would be the last round of the night that Emma first felt his eyes boring into the side of her head.
“Emma, truth or dare?”
“Neither,” she mumbled.
“Now Emma,” her name a warning on his lips, “that’s bad form and you know it.”
Emma rolled her eyes for the hundredth time that night. “Fine, dare I guess.” She wasn’t ready to spill any secrets in a room full of strangers.
His face lit up. He was about to pounce.
“I dare you to kiss me.”
Emma’s jaw dropped. “What?” It was almost a scream. She heard Will choke on whatever he’d been eating, as shocked at the suggestion as she was.
He leaned forward. “You heard me, love. One tiny kiss won’t hurt you, unless you’re afraid you’ll fall madly in love with me afterwards.”
“No, absolute not.”
“Now Emma, didn’t we just say it was bad form not to play by the rules?”
“Okay, Jones, you want to talk about good form? How would it possibly be considered good form to force me to do something I don’t want to do?” She was livid.
He looked down at the table, his jaw clenched.
“You’re absolutely right. How about a truth then?” He looked at her waiting for her response. She heard Agent Charming clear his throat reminding her of why she was there.
“Fine.”
He looked her straight in the eyes. “Have you ever been in love?”
He couldn’t have possible understood how deep that question cut her. How many horrible memories it brought back of Neal and his betrayal. All of her walls hardened as she stood up from the table, willing herself not to shed a tear.
“No, I have never been in love.” She spat the words out at him.
She didn’t wait for anyone to say anything more. She walked out of the room refusing to acknowledge the voices calling after her. She went straight to her room slamming the door shut and locking it behind her.
Ruby sat up from where she was lying in her bed.
“Emma, are you okay? What happened?”
“Nothing, I’m fine.”
Emma locked herself in the bathroom letting the sounds of the shower drown out the world around her. She curled herself up into a ball and allowed herself to cry. For an hour she stayed there, letting the water wash away the pain. When she finally emerged, Ruby was fast asleep and Emma crawled into her own bed cursing herself for ever having been so stupid.
