Lucy can always tell when Erza is having a bad day and does something small to cheer her up without outright pointing out she knows Erza is upset. She'll just subtly buy her a strawberry cake or invite her out to the movies

Erza tries to do the same thing for Lucy but isn't as good at picking up the changes in her mood. Lucy still appreciates the effort and it never fails to make her day

Erza and Laxus petition for Lucy to get picked for the S-Class trials. Master Makarov wasn't sure, but seeing how passionate they both were about it, he did put her up for it

I like that the format has gone back to pretty straight forward. “I’m Saiki Kusuo, and I’m an esper.” The word for esper that Saiki uses in the main manga is chyounoryokushya (超能力者) as opposed to reinouryokusha (霊能力者) used in Mob Psycho to describe Mob, which I find interesting. (Mob is called a ‘spirit medium’ by Reigen because he can exorcise ghosts, even though that’s far from where his abilities end.)

I have always liked the catch of teleportation requiring “apportation” of something in its place, and the items needing to be “worth” the same amount.

Ah! So he did explain that her phone is worth the same amount as the bowling ball. And also, I like that Ike san’s “worth” issue is explained right away. No silly, Ike san isn’t worth 500 yen… that’s just all he had on him at the time.

Not to go back to Mob Psycho again, but I am pretty sure that Chuono uses the same word for “master” to refer to Saiki as Mob uses to refer to Reigen; 師匠/‘shishou.’ I think. At least in the anime.

I’m super late to reading but I just found ANE after finding your beautifully grotesque art on here, I’m really enjoying it and that you brought Shadowheart along (she quickly became one of my fav’s post Act 2). I just finished chapter 8 (I am BEHIND!!) and I’m not sure if I was reading things wrong, but did Drow try to SA Izzantar or did he have a bloodlust response and try to kill him? Thx for the great writing btw, you’re pushing me through cardio at the gym lol

WOAH, if you could please let me know why you read it that way through a DM or something I would really appreciate it, that's the first I ever heard of that scene being interpreted like that (and a lot of folks seem to enjoy that part, so I would assume that would have come up) and it was 10000% not the intention.

[SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER 7 OF THE FIC AHEAD] What happened, beat by beat and with added motivators being explicitly stated, is:

1- Astarion suggests that they should take Izzantar into a hostage situation instead of blindly following his lead. 2- (later) DU Drow parts from the group to wash some blood off himself, by coincidence he finds Izzantar's camp. 3- Izzantar decides to try to take DU drow out because he's already suspicious of the party/other reasons that are revealed later. He pretends to come onto DU Drow sexually so he can get an opening on him. 4-DU Drow is under the assumptions that his attempt is genuine. He plays along, thinking this is a good opportunity to subdue Izzantar and enact Astarion's plan, haphazardly winging it because he wants Astarion to get what he wants/Just hates Izzantar's guts and is eager to hurt him anyway. 5- DU drow goes to reach for his knife so he can do just that; Izzantar had already noticed that he was armed and takes it first so he can kill him.

And then everything that follows.

They are both pretending that they Might have sex with each other but neither has the intention to. It comes off overly aggressive because sex between drows is typically violent/a display of dominance, whenever it is not just a means of reproduction. DU drow knows this, so again, he's playing the part.

Glad you've been enjoying the fic, hopefully this clears things up 😬😬😬 if ANYONE ELSE had the SA read please let me know because that's very concerning to me, and might require me to rewrite some of that scene if literally anyone else had that take-away.

Ooh!! Blue! This chapter was just 💋

The sheer audacity of Alys. And here I thought asking for Aemond’s seed was just insurance. Now she’s demanding or assuming the egg is hers.

Also, Let’s forget about the visions for a bit as the logic and logistics of her visions just baffle me because it’s like Alys expects things to work out by themselves as long as the person is at the right place at the right time. Which for me couldn’t really be attributed to her visions but more like, sheer, dumb luck or coincidence. For instance, she wanted Maera to stop patrolling the western border. Not sure if Alys thought about the consequences but Ser Adrian is right, we’re not sure how House Lannister would take that. Doing so might send a signal that the Crown abandoned them. And in this time of war, they need allies even more. Second when she wanted Maera to return to King’s Landing. and this isn’t to underestimate Maera but maybe Alys is forgetting… Maera’s pregnant. I’m not certain Alys pictured how Maera can prevent a catastrophe in her vision given Maera’s pregnant state.

But I’m so happy for our girl because the Lords support her and so nice of Aemond to finally stop being a bystander 🙄. I reread the previous chapter and the difference between Aemond’s participation here versus there is just, wow. When she first arrived at Harrenhal, I can only imagine the humiliation she must feel yet she had to put a brave face and endure it because she can’t afford to be seen as weak, so even though she wasn’t invited, she invited herself, asserted herself in that council meeting despite Aemond not really paying attention and just letting Alys run the show. And now, her efforts are finally bearing fruit! It’s as if Maera herself released the inhabitants from Alys’ spell.

Also, Maera is right, since when did Aemond have that epiphany? Or was it more of a culmination of the events that passed, particularly when they found the dragon egg? How did he come to the conclusion that he risked losing Maera? What gave him that idea? Lol I just want him to suffer, i’m so sorry 🤣

But she’s also right, his sense of duty I think also made him not want to deviate from Alys’ plan and thinks he must follow it to the letter. Can’t really blame the poor guy, it’s what’s been drilled into his mind by his mother: duty and to never step a toe out of line. Still, he must have forgotten a little critical thinking eh? He also forgot he’s got his own free will. But okay, i will be nice but I still think she ought to ice him out more lol hahahaha

That said, I can’t help but feel like Maera is right, since Aemond poked the bear, I’m worried Alys might try and resort to drastic measures because she feels her influence or control over Aemond is diminishing. And to eliminate her problem is Maera. Soooo I am a little terrified of what’s to come 😬

Thinking about the theory of Luxu taking Brain’s body and then sending his heart to the future to be recompleted. if its true, it shows how important Brain is to the series & how caring Luxu as a person is (thoughts continued below)

We already know Luxu was super worried and cared about the Dandelions from the beginning, throughout all the events he was concerned over their safety

but he didn’t just watch… his emotions and thoughts led him to directly involving himself with them when he shouldn’t have, thus marking him the “traitor”

Imagine how Luxu felt when the first Dandelion he actually gets to speak to is during the apocalypse. and it’s a kid who says he’s sacrificing himself to make sure at least his friends can live on in the new world

Brain, who Luxu throughout his observing realized put all the puzzle pieces together on his own and remained coolheaded in the face of extreme danger. who must’ve seriously impressed Luxu because yeah he did not want this kid to die.

Going by the theory, right then & there he yoinked Brain’s body and sent his heart to the future. so that Brain could be spared from the destruction, be recompleted and given the chance to live again.

bc realistically, Brain would have likely Not survived the total collapse minutes later without a lifeboat 😬

Luxu’s personal thoughts on self-sacrifice has persisted to present day too! the below text is from his official character file set during that one KH3 Olympus scene:

I really doubt he selects only people who have the letters B-R-A-I in their names by coincidence. I think he names his new identities purposefully this way. so what if it was to remember Brain?

With Luxu going through so many lifetimes, maybe he wanted to ensure Brain’s memory was never forgotten in all of those years; and this contributed to Brain’s later revival in Scala. since to be recompleted, there must be a person at the destination who has memories of you. Luxu would’ve been the only person who remembered him at this time period. and he would’ve kept Brain’s hat the entire time for that reason too

..though since Luxu still does this naming thing, perhaps it’s in honor of Brain? the genius Dandelion from the age of fairytales, who may have been his first vessel kickstarting a very long saga. because honestly he’s so important, without Brain’s sharp thinking, the Dandelion leaders wouldn’t have escaped & the current world of kingdom hearts as we know it would not exist.

We also have no idea if those two meet again. my theory is they could’ve created a secret plan together in missing link, which is the reason why this era was not recorded in the book. Luxu covers the MoM’s eye in the trailer.

Funny story, I came up with and wrote most of the BCF plot in 2019 before covid even existed😬 you can see mentions of BCF in my earlier fics published as far back as 2018 - it was just a scary coincidence how similar it ended up being to our real lives, although I did change a few things based on the fact I could then guarantee everyone reading it would have lived experience of a pandemic! And it’s also true that I’m not sure I would have ever finished it if not for the 2020 lockdowns and how much more writing time I got…

Hello! I was just reading your ask replies and thought I’d send one of my own:-)

Sometimes I wonder if I’m reading too much into jikooks relationship w/ each other - they clearly are good friends! But sometimes I think maybe I’m just seeing things, when it comes to something perhaps “more”.

But then when instances happen like jungkook starting his live (on white day no less) at 8:11pm (when we think that 11/8 or 8/11 is an important number to jikook) I’m like hmm ok…. And there’s been so many other things like this, surely it just has to be TOO big of a coincidence ?? Because it keeps. happening.

I can think of many times this number has popped up, even like one time Jungkook included it on his Instagram story when it wasn’t even that time in Korea when he posted it.

I just don’t know !! I never know what to think haha. it’s not just number theory that makes me believe in jikook but it’s one little subtle thing that seems to keep cropping up

Yeah, I think for a lot of people, it’s the suspicious moments for them that just keep adding up, you know? To be honest, all the theories can sometimes be a little much for me. Not to say there’s nothing to them, they just seem to rely so heavily on cultural nuances that I don’t completely understand or have context for, and to be honest, I never needed them to see something going on between them. It was just the very obvious stuff that stuck out to me, which is that:

They do seem like best friends. But when said best friends also seem like they’re probably very likely both queer/into men, and also sort of seem into each other, then it’s not out of the realm of possibility to wonder if something more is going on. They do a lot of things that best friends do (watch the same tv shows, have a billion and one inside jokes, spend so much time together that their other friends mix up their names, always gravitate to being in each other’s space). They just also do things that seem kind of… sexually charged sometimes? (Getting visibly distracted/flustered by attractive pictures of each other or flashes of skin, checking each other out pretty obviously, biting each other on the neck hard and long enough to leave a mark because the other wouldn’t stop spinning them around in their arms 😬, posting sexy thirst trap birthday wishes for each other, calling each other sexy, touching each other much more than strictly necessary, just straight up flirting wow there are a lot of these).

And it’s just… usually when you have two best friends who are sexually attracted to each other, that’s a pretty solid foundation for a pretty solid relationship. For most people it’s kind of a no-brainer, actually. That’s not to say the relationship will inevitably last forever, if it’s even official enough to be a relationship. That’s for them to know and define, not us.

I’ve accepted that we’ll probably never really know, and that’s okay. I want them to be safe, and happy, and at peace more than I would ever want my suspicions confirmed. I don’t really need them confirmed anyways — I have fun watching original content and the occasional Jikook serotonin-boosting compilation, and joking around on here with other people who see and appreciate their magic with me. It doesn’t have to be that serious. Welcome to the club 🥰

Second, been bombarded with that ops show too and I agree 100% with you, both in the copaganda aspect (they lost me at the mention of marine’s and middle east terrorism)and the thing about this new ships. I want to stop a moment in the answer you gave me a time ago about this wn comeback, so, even if they write them well (at first), never forget who’s behind these shows and suddenly this thing we haven’t heard about gets popular cos it has a wlw couple with amazing chemistry, they get increase in viewers so they explote it to promote their next season and then what? Sound familiar? We just can’t trust them anymore.

Third, I super totally agree with you on the Clexa lightning in a bottle. As one of the newer Clexa fans (next week will make one year since I saw the second season and told my sister “I’m sensing a little bit of the gay vibe in here, wonder who of the two will die”) I’ve seen already most of the shows one sees named in the conversation about wlw couples and let me tell you, only this one got me hooked both from the beggining and way long after its ending (hell it got me into tumblr and twitter, things I’ve never done before and I even bought a book about it “El legado de Lexa” to know more about this shitstorm her death caused). Whatever IT is, they have IT. I honestly prefer reading fics about them than get invested in a new show.

Fourth, do you really wouldn’t recommend Clexa to new fans? I mean, yeah we got hurt but they’re more than their sad story, they’re this whole community and I think that’s a beautiful thing. Personally? I wouldn’t recommend the loo but I’d tell them about Clexa warning them beforehand so they can decide for themselves? There’s this dialogue on a media fic comparing someone with a really good book that you can’t put down or let go, that even if it made you suffer and you know the ending, the feeling you got reading its unique and you just wanna keep back to it, and that’s this thing to me.

Finally, I love how you apologize beforehand if your opinion that you posted in your personal blog offends the people who asked for it and came to said blog willingly and with the intention to read it. You humble polite kiddo *pats you in the head affectionately*

Sorry about the long rant 😬, en resumen, this new show? not sure I’ll watch it, Clexa is the “el que no conoce a dios a cualquier santo le reza” of ships, I’m leaning more into the recommed Clexa side of things, we love you and your opinions.

Ok so the first real thing I gotta answer is about would I rec theloo and Clexa to people who haven't heard of it. My honest answer is would I rec Clexa fic? Yes. The show? Maybe, but it'd come with A Lot of caveats 🥴. Because the thing is, and I may be alone in this thinking idk, but I'm not really sure if someone can appreciate the entirely of Clexa and Lexa, and Clarke in particular, as characters or why their dynamics and eventual love story were so amazing if they didn't watch the show. While the Clexa movie is fantastic at showing their chemistry, there's things that happen within the show that effect them and speak on who they are as individual characters that aren't ever really included in the supercuts because they aren't together in them. Which I agree with! The thing is already 3+hrs long lol. But it does matter for context and it does hold weight in their story, both together and individually, so I would have to say to really get them you have to watch the show at least up until 307. I know there's people who write fic who haven't watched the show at all and I just... no shade! But I can usually tell. Cuz it shows.

But in that same breath the show got so fucking stupid and nonsensical I, in good conscience, have a very difficult time telling people that they should watch that hunk'a shit 😒 Season 2 was its best, let's just be honest, and season 3 was JRot's bullshit Frankenstein creation that he used as a way to shoehorn in this fucking AI plot from a movie or show (I can't remember which) that didn't get picked up but he was just convinced it was brilliant. He wanted to be GoT meets Star Trek or some shit so badly I just know he was pissing himself watching dailies. So overall it's such a double edged sword because yes I want more people to love Clexa, but at the same time the show overall is so gd bad I don't wanna put them through it.

About the Ops show, someone said it is copaganda which I expected, and not even actually enemies to lovers?? Which baffled me but apparently one of them is undercover and using the other one to get to their father or something? That's not enemies to lovers 🤨 that's manipulation. Which ok fine I'm down with that in fiction but if one party is unaware of your nefarious ways and is just interested in you then that's not... that's not EtL. That's just I was trying to trick you and caught feelings/I had feelings and then found out you were a liar. False. Advertising. 😤

Lastly, I'm a midwesterner we apologize for everything 🥺👉👈 knocked into a chair with my knee today ans accidentally apologized to it before realizing myself 😔. But really it's mainly because I know how easy it is online for people to think everything is a personal attack on them or their tastes when it's not, so I find it's just safer and more pleasant to remind people that I am just a person stating their own personal opinion, and it's really not ever anything to get upset about 😅

And there's this rumour, well, more like an observation, that M tends to start dating guys that are starting to get famous/talked about so she can be around when they explode in the Hollywood bubble. honestly, im just trying to figure out who flapjack actually belongs to. i know its been accepted by now that he must have belonged to wittebro for him to partner up with Hunter (resembles him, lineage, etc.), but what about wittebro’s wife?

like, if the bird palisman tradition with the clawthornes went generations before wittebro married in, it would make sense for his wife to have a bird palisman first when they meet. so if that palisman happens to be flapjack, and spent a lot of time with wittebro, he would know his name and Hunter’s resemblance to him.

Also because from what I know, it seems that Dell is from the Clawthorne clan based on what he says about their family being really good at carving. but at the same time, Gwendolyn has a hawk palisman and I’m not sure if it would have been a coincidence for her to have a bird palisman by the time they marry, or if this is just a small inconsistency, idk.

on the OTHER hand, i also like the idea of flapjack being carved by wittebro (assuming he can carve since he made phillip's mask). Dell mentioned carving runs in their family, and if wittebro had something to do with it, it makes sense. AND, all the bird palismen we've seen so far with the Clawthornes usually resemble real birds from the human realm, not particularly leaning to the monsters in the demon realm (Dell and Hunter's Cardinals, Gwen's Eagle, Raven and Owl for Lilith and Eda), so I figured this could be like combining two things from the demon and human realms, palismen in the shape of normal birds? also, it would set up a good plot point for how wittebro gets accustomed to the boiling isles and their customs, and juxtaposes with Belos’ attempts to eradicate it.

so yeah. just my thoughts, since we dont really see any solid confirmation of Flapjack's relationship with wittebro from Belos' memories (especially since its from Belos' POV, so maybe wittebro was hiding it from his brother that much 😬).

I also like the idea of Luz having a bat palisman from a myth I remember reading. I know the message is different, but I kept thinking like, oh yeah bats can fly but theyre not birds, just like how luz wants to be a witch but is still human, or how shes an honorary clawthorne? just based on the bird palisman pattern, but idk.

[Music is a very big part of my life and I’m MOSTLY INCAPABLE of writing without music, so I just thought I'd share what I am listening to while writing this]

As we got closer to Halloween I suddenly began thinking (before every tragic thing that has happened, in many countries, all at once) about Jikook. I was born and raised Christian, eventually to my mothers dismay ended up becoming spiritual, but Xmas is, and probably always will be, my favourite time of the year. Why? Because my happiest memories with my family were during that time of the year. I may have many issues with my parents but, even though we were among the poorest of families, they made DARN SURE that every Xmas in my childhood would be absolutely magical and this, their love and efforts, has left a permanent impression on me I believed in, wrote, and posted said letters to Santa until the age of 10, that’s how deep it was. 

So, what does Xmas have to do with Halloween and Jikook? Absolutely nothing, but I always got the feeling that in the same way I feel about Xmas meaning something more to me, even though I’m not Christian, to JK and JM, Halloween may also be meaning something more. From their like of the characters from 「A nightmare before Christmas」which I also LOVE, and I know Marilyn Manson is most of nobody’s cup of the but his version of This is Halloween is 👌🏾, and let’s not talk about Tim Burton for now 😬🥲🙃 as that is not the point of this post…one again: I digress. 

And how to forget  their Halloween ventures during GCF in Tokyo?! Just that made me wonder how they would look dressed as 2 Jack Skellington, or 2 Sally, or Jack & Sally or Sally & Jack? As I kept imagining what they could look like in the spooky corner of my brain, the radio began to speak about an oncoming Lunar Eclipse. I got back to planet Earth and I got excited, as I am a Selenophile (--> Selenophile from Wikipedia). 

One of our resident Gen-Z explained how he never saw an eclipse of any kind, and myself one of the residen Gen-Y, and my other colleague, one of the resident Gen-X, did what we always do: started making fun of him; that is our love language 😌❤️. Once we had our fun, we then began to share experiences and I got so excited (this particular Gen-Z is so patient with me, I honestly, he is so adorable, also an ARMY in the making thank to Jin's Epiphany and now The Astronaut 🥰...) I decided to show him how rare of an event a total lunar eclipse was. So we went on Google, as one does and found a wikipedia link which listed all types of lunar eclipses and when they would happen (this link → https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_lunar_eclipses_in_the_21st_century ). 

While I was bragging of having seen many during the 2002-2005 period as one doesn’t 😬, I quickly looked to check and see when this year’s total lunar eclipse, aka Blood-Moon, would be. I almost released the most disbelieving and creepiest of laughters when I saw the date: 8 of November. 

I- Honestly, you need to understand, I usually stay very far away from Jikook-Maths (by that I refer to all the events that some shippers notice being somehow, coincidently or not, we still don’t know, connected to Jikook and important dates/numbers), because things that I can’t proof logically are very hard for me to digest, but I am also spiritual, as there are things I can’t explain, but which existence I can’t deny … so I don’t go around knocking people down. Basically, I don’t bash, but I also ain’t giving cash not buying it. 

The 8th of November is a big one within Jikook-Maths, really big. but aside from all possible calculations, and associated meanings for anniversaries, it is indeed the anniversary for GCF in Tokyo, so my silver synapses sparkled and I immediately thought: “What if they watch it together?...”. Afterall, it wouldn’t be the first time, right? Remember, in Malta? Star, Wind and Romance Mood?

I swear I couldn’t stop thinking of this, I still can’t stop wondering about it. This thoughts made me want to create the Silver Lining series, because unless they actually do it and show it, there would be no way for us to know, but also it isn’t to absurd a thought to think.The sentimental part of me adding the fact that it is in fact the anniversary of GCF in Tokyo, and also most likely the last time they would spend an 8 of November together for a while (as they would be eventually going to serve). 

It all just made me wonder and ponder … Unfortunately, I can’t see it from the country where I currently live 🙃just my luck🙃, if you do get a chance, and if you want to, try and see if you can catch it, and maybe who knows, you just might all be looking up at this same particular Blood-Moon.

he’s had a few of those in the recent weeks, mostly of the brain-eating kind. they don’t bother mickey as much since he’s found out that a swift blow through their empty skulls with an AR-15 usually does the trick, and he can have his peace again.

he's watched the movies. he, his brothers, and his cousins played zombie apocalypse all the time when they were growing up (the fact that most of his brothers and cousins were brain-dead then, too, was just a coincidence).

long story short, mickey was prepared for this.

but these four are definitely human, mickey thinks to himself as he peers at them through the hole in the boarded-up window. even if the tall kid the oldest girl is supporting with her body looks like an after-prom carrie stand-in.

mickey aims his rifle at them, and they stop in their tracks. all of them, except for the girl, who starts talking a mile a minute, just words and words, one after another. pleading, but firm. proud, somehow. even now.

we won’t bother you. my brother. just gotta help him. i’m not sure how badly he’s hurt. my sister’s pregnant. we’ve been walking all the way from chicago. we don’t want any trouble. just one night. please.

and god, mickey groans inwardly, someone make it stop.

“get the fuck inside,” he growls, gesturing with his weapon inside his property.

by the candlelight in the living room, he finally gets a good look at them. the chick is skinny and wild-haired, and the sister with a bun in the oven can’t be more than fifteen. there’s a black kid cowering behind her.

mickey’s gaze turns to the older boy, who’s got his face drenched in blood and sweat. he notices that his eyes are green and his hair’s a shock of deep red, still visible under all the blood, and, for some reason, those little details seriously fuck him up for a hot second. then, he notices the full-body shiver.

he roughly grabs the older girl by her arm and drags her into the adjoined kitchen.

“did you just bring a fucking turned zombie into my house?” he whisper-shouts at her.

“no! he’s not, he’s—” her mouth closes with a drop of her shoulders. opens. closes again. “fuck, okay. i’m not actually sure if he’s been bit. it was madness. there was a group of us when we were attacked. he was trying to help.”

“so, he’s an idiot.”

“an emt.”

“same difference.”

she steps closer to him, determined. “look, i can’t lose him, too. already lost two brothers. this kid? he’s tough. he can make it. let me take care of him here. i’ll do anything.”

“jesus!” mickey jumps back when her hand touches his junk. “this ain’t it!” he protests, leveling her with a disgusted grimace.

he looks over at the still mostly out of it redhead sweating over his couch, and the two kids standing over him in worry.

they shouldn’t be here, mickey thinks. they should be out there skipping school, or catfishing their teachers, or stealing candy from the shop on the corner, or dealing with teen pregnancies (they got that one covered, mickey guesses). they shouldn’t be dealing with the fucking world ending.

and they sure as fuck shouldn’t be seeing their brother turning into a fucking brain sucker.

mickey feels his nostrils flare in anger. what the fuck did he get himself into?

he scratches his nose. “bathroom,” he then says in command, gesturing toward the next room. he doesn’t really know why, but his childhood taught him that the bathroom is where you deal with things. just is.

the chick helps him move the brother into the tub and take his blood-soaked jacket off. mickey notices in passing that the nametag there says ian.

he nods again, worrying his lower lip in his teeth. then, he grabs her again, quick before he changes his mind again, and hustles her out of the room, moving to lock the door between them.

“what the fuck are you doing?” she asks through the remaining gap in the door, her voice finally giving way to panic.

“what’s necessary,” he notes dully, shutting the door in her face before she has a chance to reply.

he switches on the small portable light he keeps by the bathtub and, for a while, he just looks at the unmoving form lying there. then, he takes the shower head and sprays the redhead directly in his face.

“yo!” mickey shouts over the sound of running water. the boy lifts his hands up in a weak attempt at protection and groans in a very distinctive non-zombie manner.

mickey sprays him again just to be sure.

“yo!” he repeats when the green eyes find him, tired and diluted. “you ian?”

there’s the groan again, stronger now, and a freckled cheek turning away from the water.

“fucking—yes, i’m ian,” he mumbles.

“you gonna bite my arm off, ian? your sister wasn’t sure,” mickey says a little impatiently, directing the spray in his face one more time.

with most of the blood washed down now, mickey sees that he has a mature face. more a man’s than a boy’s, really. and not in any way unpleasant to look at.

“i might, if you don’t stop with that,” ian protests feebly.

“yeah, don’t really think you’re in fighting shape, dougie howser,” mickey retorts back. he continues washing him, trying to find a bite that would finally solve this bitch of a situation.

with every new bit of skin cleared and cleaned, mickey feels the tension leave his body. when he gets to ian’s shirt, torn up in some places, he tells ian he’s going to take it off to check underneath, too.

“guys usually buy me dinner first before we get to that,” ian comments, a small smirk playing at his lips.

mickey snorts as he carefully lifts the shirt over his head. “hey, let’s see first if we can get through the night without you cracking my skull open. if we do, and i’ll heat you up my best can of beans.”

“hmm, my favorite.”

“don’t flatter yourself. i do it for all the guys who come around here and pass out in my bathtub.”

“it’s a date,” ian sighs contently as he closes his eyes, and lets himself be bathed.

My thoughts about Rantaro's family 🧭

A while ago, I was answering a question from an anon who wanted to know about my Amasai headcanons. There I mentioned that the hcs, concerning Shuichi’s relationship with the Rantaro sisters — it's a separate conversation, requiring clarification… And here! It’s time to talk about it! :-p

Most likely, there will be several parts — just keep this in mind 📌

I’ll start by saying that… actually… With Rantaro's canon (which we will learn from his FTE), I've had a VERY tough time..^^" I’m !warning! you right now that the headcanons I’ve listed here will contradict almost everything FTE says. That’s why they are HEADcanons basically, so I hope you understand 😌

You and I both know that Rantaro actually has 12 sisters

❗️BUT❗️ I find it unimaginably absurd that he has lost ALL OF THEM all over the world. Just… H O W?!? With this state of affairs, it’s no wonder why Rantaro is so triggered when people are trying to ask him about it and why he actually thinks he’s Useless Big Brother. Of course, the loss of all sisters may be Tragedy’s fault, because we've been shown more than once how the Ultimates families were kidnapped. Given the fact that Rantaro's memory has been erased several times — no wonder he can think as he thinks in FTE… But honestly, even that idea doesn’t sit well with me. SOOO In my DRV3 timeline (let’s call it that) Rantaro lost only ONE sister! It may not be as romantic in the context of Amasai, because Shuichi won’t have to spend his whole life trying to help him with searching xD But, be sure, I have a good substitute for everything..~

2. The next change concerns the degree of kinship between Rantaro and his sisters, let's say :^ As far as we know, most of them are step-sisters.

In that case, we have at least two scenarios, given that Rantaro CERTAINLY has a father because he mentions him. The first, Amami’s own mother is dead, so, some time after her death, the father married another woman (or two) who already had a number of daughters. Second, Rantaro’s parents are divorced without any tragic context, after which happens a string of Amami-father's marriages to divorced / widowed women, again left alone with their daughters. BUT…. Don’t you think that’s a very lucky-strange coincidence..? 😅Even though Rantaro’s mother may have ALSO found a man with a couple of daughters after the divorce, the number of marriages to get the number 12 must still be large enough. DR likes to confuse and twist things, but for me, it’s always beyond common sense 😵 That’s why I thought it would be easier if all Rantaro's sisters were blood to him ;) YEAH-YEAH, now it's physiologically insane… And I appreciate the meaning of the phrase: «Family is not just the same blood». Really. But I have my reasons for this headcanon, believe me 🙏

3. The last point is more difficult to justify — I already feel a huge misunderstanding 😬 Without any preface, apart from 12 sisters, I'm headcanon two more brothers for Rantaro. Why? It’s just a concept that was very hard to abandon as I really liked these OC's. So, now Rantaro’s mother had 15 children to give birth. Have mercy on me, ahah !!

In this post there will not be a description of everyone, but, however, I hope that I can justify myself a little by giving you a list with names, Birthdays and even ages for July 2018! Why this particular date — I will explain when it comes to hcs about my OTPs ~

Rantaro's parents:

Father — Nakatsu Amami. His name [なかつ] or [仲ツ] means "meadiator", because he’s also an Ultimate and, accordingly, a pretty successful travel agent! In other words, his agency is the "third party" between a tourist and travels ~ Born 27 May 1972 [Gemini]; by July 2018 he's 46 y.o.

Mother — Chirusaki Amami. Her name [ちるさき] or [生咲] means "bloom life" when 咲 it's "bloom" and 生 it's "life". This name also refers to her activities (owner of a huge fruit plantation), and ironically resonates with the fact that she gave birth to 15 children :'D Born 17 June 1976 [Gemini]; by July 2018 she's 42 y.o. Maiden name is Asano [淺野] — means "shallow field" (but I can’t vouch for correct pronunciation).

I’m not sure the names are correct because I’ve been taking information from a public source ^^" But I think you can see that most of them were based on plant-natural themes, since 1) Rantaro's name contains a hieroglyph with the meaning of "orchid"; 2) their mother is a plantation owner xD The more "abstract" names directly describe the character’s image, but I will already talk about it in the next part! I was rewatching episode 4 again (in preparation for the episode today) and I noticed in part 3 (timestamp 0:59) something which I think we should talk about more. In this, Black (White) & Gram’s fellow student (I didn’t hear her name mentioned) says: “Well, well. I’m just a trans ex-girlfriend you forgot about.” And maybe I am reading too much into this. But the implication that a trans woman could have dated a generally considered very handsome cis man, without anyone batting an eye…that felt kind of groundbreaking significant to me. (⚠️ Note that, like many BL fans, I’m completely dependent on English subtitles, so if there’s another way to interpret this line, I am not aware of this, but I would like to know!)

Or this might come across as a testament of my own narrowmindedness; in which, I am sorry because I don’t mean it like that at all! It’s not that trans women shouldn’t date -> they should get all the love they deserve. 💕 But a.) for trans women to be portrayed in a (happy) relationship is rare and b.) for them to get “the main prize” if you like (forgive me the cringe language but I couldn’t find a better phrase to express that according to general beauty standards, Gram would probably be considered the most handsome of the bunch 😳), that is especially hard to come by. (I’ll let you be the judge of how often this occurs in Asian media.)

Anyways, watch me read way too much into one line… 🤦‍♀️ But I just wondered what your expert opinion was. And whatever the comment meant, I already grew attached to the character. hi off anon! okay so I do completely get your sentiment on that sentence bc it made me really happy as well, bc sadly while trans women are much more represented in thai series than western ones, the extent of their representation always stops at being the overly flirty (and often represented as predatory) side character who gets handsy with the hot main character... I have a full video on it & how harmful & disgusting this trope is, even though I focused more on effeminate gay men (who are always paired with trans women in thai dramas) bc I will make a full video on trans representation one day. so ANYWAYS, that sentence is really interesting & so far the presence of two trans side characters in not me is really not a coincidence considering p'nuchie is a trans woman herself & extremely woke about lgbtq+ issues in general. so even though I don't see having a relationship with a hot cis man as a "prize" of any sort, I do love the implication that she's gram ex-girlfriend bc it changes from trans women being used as props & frankly jokes in most thai dramas. the only other trans character I've seen have a dating life in the HUNDREDS of thai dramas I've watched is mae from 3 will be free, which is not surprising bc p'jojo is also one of the rare directors who's very inclusive of other lgbtq+ members & not just masculine mlm ones.

finally, her character says "faen katoey" so trans girlfriend which was a bit weird bc it was translated to "trans ex-girlfriend" which should've been "faen kao katoey." so maybe she just said girlfriend as in, gram flirts a lot with her like a girlfriend but isn't really serious about it bc he's also courting another girl, which she talks about right after. but tbh I would need a thai person to tell me what they understood from this line bc I'm not sure I've fully gotten it as well. as for gram being the most conventionally attractive of the bunch, that might be going by western standards but sadly being the least light-skin of the group (though it is to be noted that sadly mond's skin has been quite lightened over the years already), he will not be considered the beauty standard in thailand, but sean or yok will. I have a full video on colorism coming very soon where I talk about it in more details but sadly beauty in thailand = being white-skinned... Considering what we know about Quicksilver - it's all in that post you made (his speech to Virginia that he will find other 'clients' to buy his weapons and ships, the suspicious coincidence that Cassius' upgrade which was most certainly a Sun Industry engine is just as fast as the Rim engines, yet they weren't supposed to be this advanced after the Docks fell, and, MOST IMPORTANTLY, the Sons of Ares Wrath pages which basically link the Ascomani to him), do you think he'll get tried for treason and war-profiteering? That is if he doesn't get killed in the meantime.

Pierce never actually backed out from having a character's ways dig their own grave. Well, Dancer was an exception - another parallel to Roque in a way - Dancer did manage to put his own biases and pride away for the common interest, he may have accepted that his people aren't as perfect as he made them up to be at the very least.

But I don't think the same will happen with Quicksilver. Dancer actually tried to act for his people who were very wronged, but Quicksilver makes zillions unfairly, disregarding workers' wellfare and calls it progress. He even wants looser laws to exploit the workers. He wants progress and suffers from a god complex because of it and doesn't even blink at who he is stepping on. He may give presents to the staff and whatever, but his actual workers are treated like shit.

If anything, I think that he will learn the hard way that how very wrong he is. And I don't think Matteo is too pleased with his deeds either.

About the god complex, I remember the way he spoke to Virginia - about progress, how he produced everything and how 'it doesn't have to be you'. That is crazy talk, no matter what. I mean...sure, people can suspect Holiday or Screw, but...the capitalist pig is right there and he made humans that can survive in deep space. It's almost on the nose at this point.

Honestly, whether Quicksilver will be tried for treason and war-profiteering will probably depend on how circumstances in Book VI develop. Assuming he doesn’t caught in the middle of a firefight while trying to escape or assassinated by someone in the Society who doesn’t know about his double dealing, I don’t think there’d be any circumstances where Virginia would let him get away with his betrayal. 

Because I don’t think there’s any way that the trilogy would end without exposing his crimes. Not after how incredibly obvious Sons of Ares Vol. 2 made it that he was the traitor.

Definitely agree with you there that Quicksilver isn't going to be able to stop himself from digging his own grave.  

As for people suspecting Holiday or Screwface but not seeing the obvious foreshadowing that Quicksilver betrayed the Society, I’ve learned from the Kingdom Hearts and Voltron fandoms (and Star Wars fandom too, to an extent) that some people will make their own assumptions about what’s going on regardless of actual proof, and no amount of pointing out evidence of another explanation will change their opinion.

As far as I know Alexia has always been great. The difference between her and Ada and Harder is that Barca wasn’t a powerhouse like Lyon and Wolfsburg were in the women’s game. It wasn’t until 2019 that people started to notice Barca when they made it to the finals. And remember everyone thinks Spain has a farm league so no one paid them much attention.

Let’s be honest people didn’t jump on the Barca wagon until they won the UWCL.
