Stupidly rewatched the last scene of 7x09, and the absolute waste of that amazing cliffhanger will never not piss me off.

I’m just mad at how this year we lost so many good shows because the networks and streaming services are just plain stupid and dumb. First Netflix & CBC cancel Anne With An E because they are a bunch of babies who can’t get along. Then ABC decides to be FOX and cancel Single Parents & The Baker & The Beauty which were both cliffhangers and amazing shows. So so mad. And so irritated because if they had bigger fandoms and more fans rallying we could have had a shot. And The fact Anne With An E had so much campaign and so many fans rallying and still nothing just pisses me off.

For the Salty Asks 17:Instead of XYZ happening, I would have made ABC happen… and 12: Is there an unpopular arc that you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why?
12. Ooh I have a few
For Bionicle, I admit I actually kinda like the 2009/ Bara Magna arc. While it is in the lower end of arcs for me (the only arcs lower are the 2005 arc and the ending/ post series epilogue stuff) I do really like its premise, being a soft reboot of the franchise that has a lot of elements of the series while doing new things with them/in a new setting. The mad max esque desert world is not like anything Bionicle had before, and as such felt like a fresh shakeup. Yet at the same time the world feels very Bionicle like, its still a harsh world where people are forced to be harsh to survive, not unlike how the series was ever since 2005 I feel.My main issues are that the arc felt a bit too short (thanks to cancellation) and that it doesn’t explore the universe/characters as well as it could’ve (I’m really only attached for one of the characters introduced in this arc sadly). Having the world be fleshed out would’ve done wonders for it, so would’ve being able to spend more time in it.
For Kamen Rider, ep 13-25 of Drive. I feel this is (arguably) the best stretch of drive for me, givinf a lot of engaging MOTW episodes that act as great stand-alone mysteries while fleshing out rhe world and characters. I loved how each member of the supporting cast got their own episode to shine and tell more about them. It also has my absolute favorite episode in the series, that being the judge two-parter (which made me fro disliking lt Otta to absolutely adoring the guy). And he way this stretch of the show concludes with Chases redemption/turn into rider is just *chefs kiss* so earned. There’s no better feeling than a rider EARNING their spot as a rider I feel.
For Umineko, ep 3. Not a disliked arc per say, I just feel its underrated. Its where Umineko goes from good to great for me and where a lot of the stuff I love of the series becomes stuff I like. The magic battles, the playing with fiction and reality, the elements of fantasy blending it with mystery and tragedy, just ...its so good. Also EVA-BEATRICE is great and I will defend this bastard til the day I die. Sucks that Erika has been vindicated by time but not her ngl.
17. The closest thing I can think of like this is this:
In Bionicle, rather than vanishing from the plot completely I would’ve liked The Shadowed One to play a role in the Reign of Shadows Storyarc. There was so much set up with this guy in the Destiny War/Dwellers in Darkness subplots(him using the xian viruses, his alliance with the barraki), yet he completely vanishes and never to be seen again save for being mentioned once or twice. This makes me feel that stuff was planned with the guy (or well I would SAY That if it wasn’t that the writer who wrote the subplots not only was very “writing at the seat of your pants” type of guy, he also had full control over the subplots so yeah, he most likely hadn’t planned ahead, possibly). Regardless I still wish we had gotten more with everyones favorite mercenary mafia boss, he didn’t get the exit he deserved.

King Liam NSF*W ABC (Part 1)
Tumblr media
A/N: For everyone missing our kinky King! Part 1 goes from A-M.
Rating: Mature content!
Pairing: Liam x MC (Catherine)
---------------------
A = Aftercare (What they’re like after sex) ~
„Wait! Where do you think you are going?“, Liam says holding Catherine’s hand before she leaves their bed.
„I told you that I didn’t have much time before my morning meeting, Liam“, she looks at him apologetically, still out of breath.
„No, we are not doing it this way, love. Come back into my arms and let me hold you for a few minutes… please!“, he says flashing her that smile that he keeps reserverd for her only.
„Hmmm… Okay, honey, but only a few minutes more“, she nestles into his arms and smiles, brushing her fingers across his chest.
„Much better…“, he kisses her forehead, „You are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen… I love you, my Queen!“, his eyes were sparkling with joy. He knew he was so lucky to have her in his arms.
„I love you too, my King!“
B = Body part (Their favourite body part of theirs and also their partner’s) ~
„So, what is it?“, Catherine looks into his eyes curious.
„Hmm, I can’t say… I like everything!“, he smirks at her and she rolls her eyes.
„Well, I love my long legs…“, she lifts her nightgown a little giving him a glimpse of them.
„Hmmm… I love your breasts… and your tummy… and your legs… your ass... and your pussy… fuck, I love every inch of you, don’t make me choose, beautiful“, he pulls her gently into his arms and kisses her before asking: „What is your favorite part of my body?“.
She walks slowly around him, studying him: „I love your strong back and broad shoulders; your sexy ass; your muscular chest; your six pack; your strong arms and legs“, she gets really close to him, sliding her hand inside his sweatpants, grabbing his hard-on and whispering: „But if I have to choose only one, my favorite body part of yours is your big cock, my King… I love the way it fills me up…“, she looks into his eyes and he groans.
„Hmm, I am going to cancel my morning appointments but when I get back I wanna see you in that bed with nothing but a smile on your face, love!“, he kisses her passionately looking forward to give her what she desires.
C = Cum (Anything to do with cum basically…) ~
„Oh, God, Babe… I’m gonna come all over you“, he watches Catherine stroking his manhood with both hands.
„Mouth or pussy?“, she asks naughtily, already knowing the answer.
„Spread your legs for me, love….“
D = Dirty Secret (Pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs) ~
„I wanna know, Catherine…“, Liam kisses her neck trying to convince her to share it.
„Hmmm, okay… but don’t be mad. Remember that day we made a mold of your hard cock?“, she says and he looks at her arching a brow. „Okay, wait here“, she disappears into her walk in closet for a few minutes and comes in hiding something behind her back.
„What are you hiding there?“, Liam waits anxiously.
„Ta-dah!“, she shows him a dildo.
„What is this, Catherine? And why do you have it?“, he asks not amused.
„This is you penis, honey. I had it made to entertain me while you are on your diplomatic trips“, she hands it to him and he analyses it well.
„Impressive… but you only use it when I am not here, right?“, he says and she nods biting her lower lip, „Alright then…“.
„So, now you know mine and I wanna know yours…“, she straddles him kissing his bare chest.
„Mine has also to do with my trips…“, He closes his eyes enjoying her kisses.
„If you visit strip clubs with your brother, you are a dead man…“, she says jokingly.
„Nope, someone definitely gives me a show but this is in a private setting“, Catherine stop the kisses and narrows her eyes at him, „I always take our sex tape with me… I know I promised to delete it but I couldn’t… it is so hot. You make me crazy, love. Please don’t be mad at me, it stays in my safe and nobody will ever find out“, he says trying to calm her down.
„What the fuck, Liam… all this time you had it in your safe?“, she sits on her side of the bed, crossing her arms in front of her. „Go get it now!“, Liam looks at her afraid she will break the flash drive in two. „What are you waiting for? Go get it so we can watch it together!“, she smirks at him.
E = Experience (How experienced are they? Do they know what they’re doing?) ~
„Can I get another card, please?“, Liam says clenching his jaw.
„No, Liam, this is not how the game works and this game was your idea, so go ahead and ask“, she giggles.
„Fine… but for the record, if we argue after this question, it is on you!“, he stares at his card and reads, „How many sexual partners have you had?“, he looks at her annoyed.
„Hmm… 5… no, 6 with you!“, she gives him a straight answer and he rolls his eyes. „Oh, don’t give me that! How many for you?“
„I don’t know, I don’t keep a list…“, he answers sulking.
„That many, uh?“, Catherine says provocatively.
„But none of them was as good as you, my Queen… not even close!“, he leans in for a kiss.
„Okay, my next question is…“, before she finishes her sentence, Liam says:
„And you move on to the next question just like that?“, he says pissed.
Catherine knew exactly what he meant. She smirks at him and leans in closer to his ear and whispers: „You are the best I have ever had… the best and the biggest. Nobody has ever made me scream like you do“, she looks into his eyes and sees how proud of himself he is.
F = Favourite Position (This goes without saying. Will probably include a visual) ~
„Ride me, love“, Liam says lifting his face from between her legs. He lays on his back and watches as she complies and sinks onto his hard member. He reaches forward grabbing both of her nipples, pinching them while she rides him slowly, making him go crazy. He groan her name, „Catherine… don’t tease me, I can’t take it…“, she give him a naughty smile and picks up the pace. He loves to watch her dominating him — moving up and down, so fast and so hard whilst her boobs bounce for him.
G = Goofy (Are they more serious in the moment, or are they humorous, etc) ~
Bending at her waist, Catherine leans over the pool table whilst her husband takes her from behind, fucking her hard in standing doggie. Suddenly the door to Liam’s man cave flies open and Leo walks in with a couple of palace officials.
„Your Majesty, we need a signature…“, says an official, soon realizing what is really happening, but not taking his eyes away from the King.
„No, no, no Liam… I play on this table!“, Leo says turning around.
„GET OUT!“, Liam snaps out of the shock. They all turn around and as they are leaving the room, Liam says, „And the next who walks in on me and my Queen will lose their heads!“, Liam says furious.
„Yes, your Majesty“, one says as they all leave the room.
Catherine looks at Liam and they burst out laughing.
H = Hair (How well groomed are they, does the carpet match the drapes, etc.) ~
Catherine kneels before Liam, shaving him carefully. „You know, I could have someone taking care of that, Katie“, he says smirking at her.
„Don’t tease the lady with the razor, my King…“, she throws him a powerful glance before saying: „I’ll be damned if I let anyone see my man naked“.
„I could do the same for you, my Queen“, he says imagining the ways he could tease her during the process.
„Not necessary, my King. I have Lewis to take care of it!“, she smirks waiting for his reaction.
„SAY WHAT NOW?!“, his jaw falls open.
„Alice Lewis… honey, Alice Lewis“, she giggles.
I = Intimacy (How are they during the moment, romantic aspect…)  ~
„Look at me, sweetheart“, he says thrusting into her. Catherine moans his name and opens her eyes, „You are so beautiful, my Love… I want you to come for me“, he looks deep into her eyes and she nods unable to answer. He leans in for a gentle kiss, his eyes never leaving hers. He picks up the pace and she moans into his mouth. He feels her muscles tightening around his cock and it is his cue to let go. He groans her name as he explodes deep inside her. „I love you, Katie…“, he falls to the side and pulls her into his arms.
„I love you too, Liam“, she nestle into him.
J = Jack Off (Masturbation headcanon) ~
Catherine walks into her room and hears panting and grunting coming from her husband walk in closet. She burst the door open and sees her man jerking off on the ottoman, „Liam… what is going on?“, she crosses her arms in front of her, waiting for an explanation.
„Are you still on that silly sex strike of yours? Because as long as you are, I’ll have to take care of myself… especially because you do everything to turn me on and then let me high and dry!“, he says annoyed.
„I would not be on a sex strike, if I hadn’t caught you looking at another woman’s behind, my King!“, Catherine narrows her eyes at him.
„For fuck’s sake, why would I even do that? I have the most beautiful woman that has ever walked on the face of the earth… come to me, honey. Let me take care of you…“, he looks into her eyes, pleading for a chance to feel her body once again.
K = Kink (One or more of their kinks) ~
Catherine lay flat on her back, in her underwear only, her wrists are tied to the bed posts. Her eyes are blindfolded.
Liam puts an ice cube in his mouth kissing and licking her body, she moans going crazy with the cold sensation. He places the ice cube on her breasts, licking it off. „Do you like it, my Queen?!“, he asks.
„Oh fuck… yes… yes, my King“, she answers moaning.
He puts the ice cube in his mouth again, takes off her undies and goes down on her. The frostiness of his tongue and lips licking her folds, swirling around her clit and sucking on her budge of nerves in contrast to the heat of his breath against her sex, was too much to handle and Catherine screams in pleasure and weeps of joy.
L = Location (Favourite places to do the do) ~
Liam picks up Catherine’s dress and helps her getting dressed, „It is nice to see our cottage in Valtoria, love“, he kisses her neck, his hands on her hips.
„Yes, indeed. But when I said that we should come to christen our cottage, I meant inside the cottage not the backyard…“, she giggles.
„Oh, and believe me, we will get there but you know your King is outdoorsy…“, he says winking at her.
„I do… I know you are totally obsessed with outdoor sex, my King!“.
M = Motivation (What turns him on, gets him going) ~
„My pussy is so wet, my King… I really want you to fuck me right now“, Catherine says moaning into the phone.
„Oh love, you know that I can’t resist when you talk dirty to me… but I have a meeting in 10“, he closes his eyes feeling his trousers getting tighter.
„Baby… please come and get it… I need your cock, I can’t wait anymore!“, she pleads.
„Alright, love. Give me one minute“, he says leaving his office. He looks at his secretary and says, „I have pressing matters to attend to. I’ll be 20 minutes late to my next appointment… see what you can do. Show him around if necessary!“, he smirks to himself and runs to his quarters.

I’m still so mad about Daredevil cancellation. But at the same time, I’m not devastated yet. That will come after they cancel Jessica Jones and The Punisher. The shows are special, there are still so many stories to tell (especially after DD s3), the casts are lovely, they love the shows and those characters so much (especially the leads (I mean somebody go and hug Charlie). And to think that’s all because of Disney/Netflix pissing contest.
And yes, they ‘may’ return on the new Disney streaming service but that would be like putting them on ABC or the CW - wrong on so many levels.

I questioned whether or not I was going to type anything up about the Timeless cancellation, but since I had been posting about it while we waited for news I thought it’d be a little weird if I didn’t respond to NBC finally making a damn decision.
I’m going to preface this by saying this is not a “Ra-ra let’s save our show!” post and if that’s the frame of mind you’re in then it’s probably better to bypass this one. I just need to purge my thoughts because this show’s fate has consumed my brain for too long.  I’m hoping some of this will comfort some fans, but I also recognize that I’ll probably tick some people off too.
Tumblr media
This sucks. Plain and simple. I am so sorry Clockblockers. This one hurts and I know so many of you worked tirelessly on Twitter tweeting your support for the show. I don’t want anyone to think the reason Timeless didn’t get renewed is because the fandom didn’t do enough or there wasn’t enough fan support online. That’s not what happened. Fans did absolutely everything they could and, in my opinion, went above and beyond for this show.
Tumblr media
I know networks love to say “fans saved the show” but one of my problems with that statement is implies it’s somehow the fans’ fault if a show is not “saved.”
Tumblr media
This always boils down to money. I know many of you are probably thinking “duh” right now and I also recognize that attitude sounds very cynical. But the thing is... I am very cynical about this particular topic.
Tumblr media
Networks enjoy looking like the fairy godmother when they choose to renew bubble shows or pick up cancelled ones and always credit the fans for saving it. It sounds better than “We can still make money off this show.” And sure, fans do have impact. Social media does have impact. Buzz matters. To deny that is silly and ignores the evolving way a show’s success is measured. That said, I firmly believe fan support is seldom, if ever, the deciding factor. Networks do not renew unprofitable shows because fans like it or are vocal online. There is no difference between Timeless fans, Brooklyn 99 fans or Lucifer fans. In my opinion, Timeless had the most vocal and longest running campaign. And yet here we are. But don’t feel bad Clockblockers. This wasn’t in our control. It’s not our fault.
Tumblr media
Am I mad? Eh. Not really. It’s more sad for me at this point. I was so fed up with the never ending vortex of NBC’s indecision that I’m almost relieved we are out of it.  Why do I think it took so long? I do think NBC and Sony were trying to make a deal. I don’t think they were at the table every day, but I want to believe the back and forth was ongoing until the decision was made. I also think Sony and creators were trying to make deals with other networks or streaming companies. I also think NBC was trying to wait out fans and let the roar of support die down online. #dicks
One of my frustrations with the Timeless renewal last year was I felt the announcement and subsequent story surrounding the renewal was a lot of PR fluff. It was a great story saying fans saved the show in three days, but what didn’t get reported on very much at the time is that after NBC canceled Timeless, Sony came back to the table with a very big check. Sony owned Timeless and NBC paid a licensing fee to air it. In order to secure a second season, Sony gave NBC 50% ownership of Timeless. Then, they cut production costs by A LOT and the show benefited from a land tax credit. That’s how the show was made profitable again. That’s how NBC and Sony made the deal last year.
I feel like I read somewhere that NBC’s 50% of the profits was advertising, while Sony’s piece of the pie was streaming rights and international sales. Don’t quote me on that though. I’ve been researching and reading on Timeless for a loooong time, primarily because this stuff interests me, but articles are starting to muddle together. However, if that is accurate, that could explain why NBC was so focused on live ratings.
Yes, I know the Nielson system is archaic, but it’s the system we got. The Big Four are becoming less dependent on advertising for profits because people are not watching as much live TV anymore. Everyone has had to branch out and find other ways to make money (Hello streaming). However, live ratings still determine ad buy rates and advertising is still the primary source of income for network television. (I do not include the CW in this. They have a different business model.) When a show drops 40% in live ratings it means the network cannot charge Tide as much to air a commercial. This makes the show less profitable and renewal less likely. It is always about the money. Again, I’m sure many of you are saying “duh” but I appreciate you allowing me to purge.
Not that NBC did much to help Timeless succeed their second season. They put a family friendly show on at 9c/10 pm on Sunday night. There was a long break in between Season 1 and Season 2. NBC did very little to promote Timeless’ return and that continued while the show aired. So, it’s not all that shocking ratings dropped another 40%. I wouldn’t be surprised if 40% of the audience didn’t even know the damn show was on again. I don’t know why networks set up their own shows to fail, but they do. And by networks I mean NBC and Fox.
Tumblr media
Networks are also moving away from airing shows owned by other networks. The predominant trend is to air shows produced in house. NBC, ABC, CBS and Fox all have their own production studios. Sony has their own production studio but they don’t have a network to air their shows. So, Sony is struggling to sell shows right now. A lot of their pilots were not picked up for the 2018-2019 season. There’s a lot of factors I’m sure, but I think licensing fees are at play.  People aren’t watching live TV as much anymore and therefore networks are not able to charge advertisers as much. If the profitability potential is less from the outset then networks want a bigger piece of the pie. So, instead of paying extremely expensive licensing fees they are simply airing shows they own. This is just my theory. My point is simply Timeless had an uphill battle that wasn’t necessarily all about ratings.
I’ve been seeing a lot of comparisons between the shows that were renewed or “saved” versus the ones that were cancelled. I think this is always a slippery slope because these are not apples to apples comparisons. The one I am hearing a lot about is Brooklyn 99, so I’ll just quick toss out my thoughts on that. Brooklyn 99 aired on Fox, but NBC owned the show. NBC sold Brooklyn 99 to Fox before Andy Samberg (their big SNL star) joined the pilot. Greenblatt said he regretted letting the show get away. So, the way I look at it Brooklyn 99 was never canceled. NBC was going to pick it up. They were just waiting to pounce.
Do I think Timeless will get picked up by another network or streaming company like Netflix or Hulu? I was very hopeful of that while we waited to hear on NBC’s decision. To be honest, I’ve always thought Timeless would be a better fit on Amazon or maybe even the History Channel. It works great as short episode series similar to The High Castle (which airs on Amazon). Hulu also owned the streaming rights to Timeless, so I thought it’d be an easy pick up for them too.
Tumblr media
Yeah. I was wrong. I have very little hope of that now. The biggest shock to me wasn’t Timeless’ cancellation. I was anticipating that. The biggest shock was the talk of the two hour movie by Kripke and cast. It seems the two hour movie is Timeless’ best bet, which means the creators and Sony have already reached out to other networks and streaming sites like Amazon, Hulu and Netflix and were turned down. Even the movie sounds like a long shot.
Tumblr media
Sony and the creators are encouraging fans to campaign again only to direct their efforts at Hulu and Netflix now.
Tumblr media
Yeah, this annoyed me. It’s not like the Clockblockers’ efforts were secret while they campaigned loudly at NBC to pick up the show. Hulu and Netflix can see the online chatter just like everyone else. If the fan enthusiasm wasn’t “enough” to convince them Timeless is worth picking up, I don’t understand how tweets directed at Hulu and Netflix are suddenly going to change their mind. This is the disingenuous part of the “fans can save the show” for me. Whatever numbers Hulu and Netflix had is what made them pass on show. It sucks but it is what it is.
Before anyone starts yelling “Yeah but what about Lucifer?” at me - I don’t know what numbers these streaming companies look at. However, Netflix already has a deal with the WB which owns Lucifer. My bigger point is, Kripke wouldn’t be talking a two hour movie if the streaming company options hadn’t already been exhausted.
Would I love to be wrong? YES. Maybe they are trying to keep the buzz going to get the two hour movie made, but again I don’t think buzz” will be the deciding factor with that either. Maybe the streaming websites left the door open and the creators & Sony are trying to capitalize on it. I don’t know. But at this point I am tired of seeing these people get the fans’ hopes up by selling this illusion of control. There’s very little in fans’ control. Yes, I acknowledge again this sounds cynical but I’ve danced this dance too many times. I’m old, tired and cynical about this process. I’m okay with it. If you are not - FANTASTIC. Do your thing.  This isn’t a post telling fans to stop campaigning. This is just me... venting.
This has absolutely NOTHING to do with the quality of Timeless. It was a great show. It checked off so many boxes. Funny, socially aware and relevant, amazing cast chemistry, wonderful ships (no matter which one you loved), historically accurate and informative (you LEARNED watching this show), emotional and so much more. I wanted more seasons.
Tumblr media
I am keeping my fingers crossed that we get a movie because I HATE when shows end on a cliffhanger. There should be a law against writing cliffhangers for shows on the bubble. The writers always think the cliffhanger will stop the executives at the network from canceling the show and it never does.
Alright enough ranting. Whatever the business reasons or factors that went into this decision in the end it doesn’t really matter. It still sucks. But I guess the way I’m looking at all of this is Season 2 was a bonus for me and I’m thrilled we got it. Timeless was an amazing show that I will miss and it will join the long list of shows I have loved and were canceled long before they should have been. Mostly I’m just thankful to the cast and crew for the many hours of entertainment.

I'm sorry for some hate towards your shows from sh, but we in general don't hate these shows, so many sh fans stan bold type, we are mad at network that was purposely killing show with no promotion and long hiatuses, so they could make room for new ones. We have several lgbt characters, the only asexual character on tv,who is latinx, bi asian man, lesbian asian woman, interracial same sex couple, 5 of the 8 mains are poc. It matters. And we didn't get cancelled over ratings, but money dispute.
Le sighhhhh! First off Anon I actually watch Shadowhunters. I think it's one of the few shows that is still left on my blog header. I've had to continuously change that thing because I've watched alot of shows that either got canceled or tptb switched directions and I had to let it go.
The second show listed is Still Star Crossed. Let me tell you about SSC. It was another ABC show that was very diverse and had great representation but it got canceled after just one year. I always thought it would do better on Freeform. Guess what anon the ratings was way more higher than Shadowhunters and ABC did them way dirtier by not really promoting the show, airing the last 3 episode on a SATURDAY and ending it on a big cliffhanger because episodes were cut. Shadowhunters on the other hand will get to air the last 13 episodes plus 2 more episodes will be filmed to wrap everything thing up but this isn't about which show got the worst treatment.
Frankly I always taught Freeform did alot for SH and the show would get canceled after season 2 when the ratings were dropping. A season 3 renewal was a surprise to me but again the ratings kept dropping and by alot. Almost 50% if you like to crunch numbers. Tptb would entertain the Shadowhunters fandom most idiotic requests and still the ratings fell.
You can check their numbers on tvbythenumbers.com or Nielson's Ratings. In fact most of the shows on Freeform has low ratings in comparison to other networks. I don't know in what universe a business would continue to fund a show with low ratings? People forget that at the end of the day it is a business.
At this point I'm kinda over it because the way certain people acted was unnecessary. If people are trying to do good things then just do the fucking good things. Cloak and Dagger is a good show and I AM going to continue to watch it. I made my peace about Shadowhunters a season 1/2 ago. It's too bad a lot of people weren't paying attention to their numbers. You have to in this day and age.

Since Fox was bought by Disney, there are a lot of rumors about the network. Some people say nothing is going to chance for the network while others think it's going to broadcast more shows from Disney's studios. I'm not really sure but I think right now a lot of shows on Fox are form Fox and WB studios, so basically they're cancelling them to go to Disney according to some people. But again, a lot of confusion. If Fox is only getting shows from Disney, it will probably turn into ABC 2.0
The Disney merger can’t bring down the channel but it will no longer have a big studio behind them backing them up. So basically they’re gonna be diet FOX most likely turning to reality/sports and limited scripted shows
I’m not surprised about Lucifer, but Fox are being brutal this year, they axed all their comedies for new ones and are bringing back ABC’s Last Man Standing. Since it’s been bought by Disney, I wouldn’t be surprised if it becomes like ABC2 and they lob off the rejects to Fox. I’m still mad that they didn’t pick up Joseph’s pilot.
Ohhh okay, I got it. Thank you for explaining it, lovelies!

Isn't BB starting up his own production company ? Harmony ABC or whatever it is ? Do you think if that's happening that he'd make a show that'll bring Sherri and Teri together again for good ? Not anything like TF , but something where like .. they're still married , but with diff names . Kid-free . Or is this just one of my many crazy scenarios for them since TF is cancelled ? Cause I'd watch THAT show . Anything to see them together again permanently .
He already has a production company with Peter. It’s called Blazing Elm Entertainment, but I am unsure how much they are using it now. They have a new show called Harmony on ABC that I am sure they will be show runners of since they won’t be doing that with the spin off. It’s all in Joanna’s hands. So, unfortunately I don’t think they have any interest in doing a Stef and Lena show, at all.

Out of all of their works that I’ve seen , I haven’t been this confused about their roles in a long time ( Sherri since OLTL and I couldn’t figure out who killed her character , Teri since well .. EVER actually ) .. until now . Sherri’s character had me thinking that maybe she was crazy , not even human or something . Teri’s had me thinking that she was a mental patient instead of a doctor . What do you think ?
I have not. I barely have time to keep up with the show right now, so once it’s off, I will probably catch up. I am sure they have fun playing against type right now. It’s good for their careers too.
Anonymous said:                                                                      why exactly does everyone hate callie and mariana so much?
They’re boring. And the actors who play them sold out. So hence the hate.
Anonymous said:                                                                      What do you think it was that pissed Stef off so much about Jenna ? She seemed mad at her before she even settled in
I think the show is trying to make it like Stef is jealous. Kinda like they played with that many times with Lena, when she just wasn’t. I think for Stef in this case, it’s about how she still feels guilt about Mike, and Stef here was thinking of Dean’s feelings. My gut tells me that it is Tess that insists on hanging out with Jenna next episode because I can’t imagine Jenna asking anything of Stef.
Anonymous said:                                                                      I just realized something .. Out of the whole show … Last week’s episode was the first time ever that anyone in that house has ever locked the front door
Really? Who locked it?
Anonymous said:                                                                      Is it just me or are we getting sneaks later than we usually would have it’s Saturday and we’ve only had one
No one is minding the ship anymore. No one cares. It’s really sad. The website barely puts up promo pics.
Anonymous said:                                                                      Just watched the last episode, how can they willingly choose to lose the talents of Sherri and Teri? They don’t know how lucky they were and are to have had them on their show at all.
Once the spin off sinks under the weight of its own mediocrity, those in charge might realize that they had lightening in a bottle and without it, it’s nothing.
Anonymous said:                                                                      Less than 5 episodes ago Aaron was kind of anti the protesting thing and all he cared about was the chance of AJ ‘stealing’ Callie (gross) and now all of a sudden he’s like “yay protesting!” I’m glad Tom left though. I really like AJ, and I’d prefer Callie to be single but if she got with anyone I would have liked it to be AJ, but I feel like the show didn’t do AJ or Tom justice so I’m glad he’s left the show and doing something he really loves.
Lol, that’s the kind of shit I can’t stand about this show. I liked AJ too but Callie doesn’t deserve him. She can deserve Aaron who changes what he likes and believes in to “get” callie, then when he’s got Callie, he’s going to get possessive and tell her what to do. She deserves that.
Anonymous said:                                                                      In the end, every tv show is nothing else than some kind of company. In the case of The Fosters, the big bosses decided to close the company but they want to keep two of the employees. These two employees can’t save the company because the big bosses are done with it, they just can save their own jobs. That’s exacly what Maia and Cierra did. That’s not evil, that’s just how the world works. Most of us would do the exact same thing in such a situation. Don’t you think?
What is evil is doing it behind people’s back. There are ways of handling things and when you only look out for yourself, people notice and they learn to hate you and not trust you. I wouldn’t do it like they did. I have integrity. Whatever the fuck I think of you, i tell you to your face. I am not going to sneak around behind people’s back, when my actions affect their livelyhood. I wouldn’t. And I am also not convinced that the creation of the spin off isn’t what killed the show. So, I do think they could have saved the company for one more season.

It’s “progressive.” Old lesbians aren’t progressive enough.

David Cameron speech and response from journalists and public. (Showing the varying perspectives on the situation at the time)            LX - NATURAL WASH (70%)
Voiceover: We are reporting live from outside of 10 Downing Street where David Cameron is about to address the public about the recent riots across the UK.
Woolf: Finally someone who's gonna tell it how it is.
Michael: Good morning. I've come straight from a meeting of the government's Cobra committee for dealing with emergencies.
Nikita: Who trusted that idiot to run our country.
Emily: I feel huge sympathy for the families who've suffered, innocent people who've been burned out of their houses.
Charlotte:  As ever, police officers have shown incredible bravery on our streets in confronting these thugs, but it's quite clear that we need more.
Tic: Oh my god they’re really brave with their shields and pepper spray.
Michael: We've been discussing the action that we will be taking to help the police to deal with the disorder on the streets of London and elsewhere in our country.
Nesta: Good to see he can put his gin and tonic down for 5 minutes.
Emily: Let me first of all completely condemn the scenes that we have seen on our television screens and people have witnessed in their communities.
Charlotte: I also feel for all those who live in fear because of these appalling scenes that we've seen on the streets of our country.
Michael: These are sickening scenes – scenes of people looting, vandalising, thieving, robbing, scenes of people attacking police officers and even attacking fire crews as they're trying to put out fires. This is criminality, pure and simple, and it has to be confronted and defeated.
Charlotte: We've been discussing the action that we will be taking to help the police to deal with the disorder on the streets of London and elsewhere in our country.
Tic: All this Tori bollocks is pissing me off.
Nikita: To be honest I  can see why people are kicking off.
Michael: I feel huge sympathy for the families who've suffered, innocent people who've been burned out of their houses and to businesses who have seen their premises smashed, their products looted and their livelihoods potentially ruined.
Woolf: Riots are really sickening. Those looters are not political protestors, they are a bunch of lousy kids who think they can get their way all the time.
Charlotte: People should be in no doubt that we are on the side of the law-abiding people who are appalled by what has happened in their own communities.
Nesta: That’s bullshit he doesn’t care.
Emily: I also feel for all those who live in fear because of these appalling scenes that we've seen on the streets of our country.
Woolf: We’re trying, give us a break.
Charlotte: It's quite clear that we need more, much more police on our streets and we need even more robust police action.
Emily: These are sickening scenes – scenes of people looting, vandalising, thieving, robbing, scenes of people attacking police officers and even attacking fire crews as they're trying to put out fires. This is criminality, pure and simple, and it has to be confronted and defeated.
Nesta: More police means more rioters so bring it on.
Michael: The Metropolitan police commissioner has said that, compared with the 6,000 police on the streets last night in London, there will be some 16,000 officers tonight.
Emily: People should be in no doubt that we are on the side of the law-abiding people who are appalled by what has happened in their own communities.
Tic: Don’t normally agree with Cameron … and I still don’t.
Nikita: It’s one law for them and another for us.
Emily: As ever, police officers have shown incredible bravery on our streets in confronting these thugs, but it's quite clear that we need more, much more police on our streets and we need even more robust police action, and it's that that I've been discussing in Cobra this morning.
Woolf: I mean he’s not wrong, how are we meant to fight thousands of rioters.
Charlotte: All leave within the Metropolitan police has been cancelled.
Tic: oh no, boo boo PC Plod can’t go to Butlins
Charlotte: There will be aid coming from police forces up and down the country, and we will do everything necessary to strengthen and assist those police forces that are meeting this disorder.
Nesta: Just bring the army in, they’ll deal with it with way less talk and more action.
Michael: As ever, police officers have shown incredible bravery on our streets in confronting these thugs, but it's quite clear that we need more.
Woolf: It’s not the police's fault we’re outnumbered and not all trained for this kind of situation.
Michael: There have already been 450 people arrested.
Woolf: There’s many more to come yet.
Charlotte: We will make sure that court procedures and processes are sped up and people should expect to see many more arrests in the days to come.
Emily: I am determined, the government is determined that justice will be done and these people will see the consequences of their actions.
Nikita: Why are people listening to paid up pricks like this? The sickening thing about people like him is that they haven’t learned the lessons from history.
Charlotte, Emily and Michael (overlapping): And I have this very clear message to those people who are responsible for this wrongdoing and criminality. You will feel the full force of the law, and if you are old enough to commit these crimes you are old enough to face the punishment. And to these people I would say this: you are not only wrecking the lives of others, you are not only wrecking your own communities – you are potentially wrecking your own life, too.
Emily, Charlotte and Michael: There is important work to be done. Thank you.
Politicians leave centre stage.
LX - SPOTLIGHT STAGE RIGHT
Nikita: Who the hell does he think he is?
Tic: They are a load of cunts.
Nesta: They're not cunts, they're not useful.
Tic: It sounds so fake.
Nikita: They're all just paid up pricks who don't care for people like us.
LX - SPOTLIGHT STAGE LEFT.
SFX - PHONE RING.
Woolf: (on phone) Hello … it is, who am I speaking to? … Didn’t think you were working this weekend … Yeah I’ve seen the news ... Wait what? This is meant to be my weekend off … I’ll have to see if I can find child care first ... I’m not even trained for riots, what do you expect me to do? … Alright I’ll sort something okay. I’ll let you know. Bye.
Woolf leaves.

Emily enters.
Nesta: Where have you been?
Emily: Do you care?
Nikita: Not really. Did you see that idiot on the news?
Emily: Yeah, what about it?
Tic: That Cameron prick reckons he can stop the riots.
Nikita: It’s gonna get worse yet.
Tic: You know Zak from down the road got arrested last night.
Nesta: What’s he done?
Tic: Been burning cars.
Nikita: Are you serious?
Nesta: That’s class!
Tic: Looked fun to be fair.
Nesta: Maybe we should try that tonight?
Emily: What do you mean tonight?
Nikita: Didn't you get our message?
Emily: No, what message?
Tic: We joined the riots last night it was well fun.
Nesta: You should have seen the looks on the coppers faces!
Nikita: You should join us tonight!
Emily: I don’t know, I don’t really want a criminal record.
Nesta, Nikita and Tic look at Emily
Tic: Come on!
AD LIB STUFF HERE (CONVINCING)
Emily: I really don’t know.
Nesta: Come on, you're not afraid are you?
Nikita: It will be fun!

Emily looks at the girls. She’s convinced.
Emily: Fuck it. Let’s go.

okay no lmao I’m still anrgy.  is there like...............a fucking petition or smth for still star crossed...................like we brought mad energy when netflix cancelled sense8 and that petition gained hundreds or signatures every time I refreshed the page, can we have SOMETHING for SSC? the only possible way for there to be a hope in hell of ABC listening to their viewer base and giving this show a goddamn chance is something to grab their attention.  God knows they shot their damn selves in the foot on multiple fronts and caused their own show to tank re: a weird time slot, CHANGING the time slot to an even weirder time slot, holding back an episode for some ding dang sports event, and practically non-existent show promo but jesus christ, this show is something that so many people have been waiting THEIR WHOLE CHILD, TEENAGE, AND YOUNG ADULT LIVES to see for along time in the way of super diverse period pieces.  I mean, this is a historical work of fiction that ACTUALLY adheres to that “cast the best actor for the role” rule in its PUREST FORM, a rule that so many of y’all on this site and all over the internet love to taut when people call out whitewashing in hollywood films.  Still star crossed brought that fucking energy and these same people are nowhere to be found lmfao.  How in the fuck are you gonna whine about SSC not casting any italians in a show about italy and still watch every other tired ass historical drama that takes place ANY DAMN WHERE staring all british actors and a few australians..........................it’s such a crying fucking shame that it might to be snatched away after just a season before even giving it a chance to find its stride

So, while I’m not completely sold on this “Dark Universe” series, the fact they have gotten Bill Condon to direct “The Bride of Frankenstein” (Which IS his favorite movie) with Javier Bardem as the monster has at least made me happy…
And now Dracula is supposed to be in it. (Which isn’t that much of a shock.) No names have been bandied about yet, but here’s my suggestions which aren’t much of a shock either.
Justin Theroux
Tumblr media
When am I NOT thinking about him? Those dark good looks, him playing very, very bad guys women obsess over… He DOES want to do more genre work, as evidenced by how he would’ve been up for playing Leezar again, his failed attempt at landing Doctor Strange, and the still not confirmed part in Ep. VIII. And while he’s okay with taking time to write as well as co-produce and possibly act in a TV special for ABC, it could work. Leezar was partially based on the Gary Oldman version of Dracula and boy, can he wear a cape.
Dan Stevens
Tumblr media
The key word: chameleon. He is quite literally the hardest working man in show business with quite a few movies and a TV show released just this year, so it may not be surprising his name gets thrown around for this. Plus, he was in another loose “Dracula” adaptation.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers
Tumblr media
Look, some of us are still mad that “Dracula” series was cancelled, OK?
Tom Hiddleston
Tumblr media
Of course he’ll be in contention. He’s hinted he may be leaving the Marvel movies soon, but will he want to do another series like this? Oh, and he has played a vamp before.
So who do you want to see join Prodigium?
EDIT: How the hell could I forget "Vamps", the goofy vampire comedy where Dan plays a member of the Van Helsing bloodline that falls for one of the main characters?

The Bachelor/ette Through a Feminist Lens:
Thoughts on Last Season, the Upcoming Season, and Why I Want to Start These Conversations
Hi. My name is Emily. I am twenty and I just finished my second year of college. I love The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, and Bachelor in Paradise. I understand these shows aren’t the pinnacle of intelligent entertainment, but I still watch them, and I love them. I could call them a guilty pleasure, but I don’t feel guilty about it. The Bachelor franchise is a cultural phenomenon. It almost seems that it’s more unique to have not seen or heard of the show than to watch it religiously, or just watch it sometimes.
I am double-majoring in Theatre Art and English Writing, and seriously considering a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies. This past semester, I took a class called Writing of Women. One student did her final project on The Bachelor and how it is anti-feminist. I felt embarrassed at first. Feminism is important to me, and I don’t want to contribute to a society that puts women down. The girl doing the presentation had never seen an episode of the show, but a lot of her points were valid. The Bachelor has editors that work hard to make women look crazy, like bitches, like idiots. The Bachelor fosters the mindset that a happy ending should be focused on (especially for a woman) marriage above all else.
But still, many women - myself included - love the show. My classmate suggested we don’t watch The Bachelor anymore, so it might get cancelled. I can realize The Bachelor isn’t going anywhere. And I’m not sure I want it to. This is a show many women enjoy, and often times the things women enjoy are devalued as stupid or not worthwhile. There has to be some good and some validity in a show that so many people really like. I’m not saying it’s perfect - it’s far from it. And I want to talk about those issues, and how they should be fixed, and how angry they make us. But I also want to talk about the merit found within the show. Week by week, episode by episode, I want to dissect and discuss through a feminist lens the show that I really enjoy. Maybe by the end, I won’t enjoy it anymore. Or maybe it’ll make it easier to digest.
That said, I want to talk about last season. I don’t think I have too much to drone on about - it was kind of boring. I had wanted Nick Viall to be the Bachelor for years, and I felt unsatisfied by a season that was (probably, I don’t really remember) promised to be The Most Dramatic Season Yet. Don’t get me wrong, I still like Nick Viall. I like to believe, even though it’s obvious he just got accidentally caught in the middle of that women’s march, he still supports the movement. As far as Bachelor guys go, he seems to be one of the few that doesn’t actively hate women.
I also loved the women on his season. I think it’s really important for a show to be able to foster so many female relationships. Alexis was hilarious, and I can’t wait to watch her on Paradise this summer. Rachel was stunning and smart and her season has me so hyped and hopeful. Vanessa was my favorite all season - even as I watched fans begin to turn on her because she was edited to be too serious, or because she was treating her relationship with Nick like an actual relationship instead of a TV relationship.
I think the initial hatred of Corinne is similar to the current hatred of Vanessa. Corinne wasn’t doing anything particularly villainous. She was just being open with her sexuality. I was shocked as I watched her get slut-shamed on twitter week after week. Why weren’t people getting mad at Nick? He was the one, as America should assume, that was looking for something serious. He could have sent her home, and he didn’t. She should be able to act however she wants.
Luckily, the tables turned for Corinne and she became an incredibly loved contestant from the season. However, the same can’t really be said of Vanessa. It seems to be a trend for fans to hate whatever woman the Bachelor gets engaged to - the same nasty comments Vanessa receives also seem to be aimed at Lauren from the previous season. I don’t really understand why people seem to hate these women so much. The whole point of the show is for the lead to get engaged - but they really can’t win. If Vanessa tries to have conversations with Nick about what her life would look like after they got engaged, she’s too serious. If she goes on After the Final Rose and says they have no plans to get married, she’s not serious enough.
I personally have not seen the same kind of verbal attacks thrown at male contestants that female contestants receive. Perhaps it’s just as bad for them, but I haven’t seen it and it seems gender-related to me.
This season, I’ll make sure to keep up with the guys and their social media following. Obviously women get terrible edits, but I realize men can get a bad edit as well. Evan from JoJo’s season is apparently a millionaire, and they made him out to be a “loser” character. I think that might go into the fact that he’s a father and he ran an erectile dysfunction clinic. It was easy for producers to poke fun at the fact that he isn’t traditionally “masculine.” I’m sure we’ll see a lot of that this season. The recently released promo is already doing that and I’m going to talk about that in another post.
The bright side will be getting to see Rachel Lindsay every Monday. I truly think she’s the best Bachelorette to ever get the gig and I can’t wait to see how she handles each situation with grace and intelligence. I am so excited that a woman of color was finally given the opportunity to be the Bachelorette. It was an amazing decision, however, I don’t think we should be praising ABC for it, considering it took twelve seasons (plus twenty-one seasons of The Bachelor) for the lead to be given to a person of color. It’s progressiveness, but at a tortoise pace. I think we still need to hold ABC accountable to being more progressive and giving more opportunities to POC on the show. I’m sure the majority of the men on Rachel’s season will still be white.
Cast bios are coming out on the 17th, but if you follow Reality Steve or another Bachelor-related gossip site, you already know who the bachelors on Rachel’s season are. In the interest of not revealing spoilers, I’m going to wait to talk about the men until they’re released to the public, but I might cave and discuss the four men who went on ATFR before then since we’ve all already seen them. I would also like to compare the bios of the men on Rachel’s season to the women on Nick’s season - maybe it could be interesting. In the days leading up to Rachel’s season premiere, I hope to write about a lot of interesting things from past seasons to talk about.
If you read this and you have anything you’d like to chat about, let me know! I’m really excited to start watching the Bachelor shows through a feminist lens!

West Week Ever: Pop Culture In Review - 5/5/17
youtube
In TV news, we got the first trailer for Marvel’s The Defenders series on Netflix. I dunno, y’all. I’ll be the first person to tell you that I’m behind on these shows. At this point, I’ve only seen Daredevil season 1 and Jessica Jones. No DD S2, no Luke Cage, and no Iron Fist. Sorry, kids, but there just aren’t enough hours in the day. Daredevil was a worthy bingeing experience, as each episode ended on a cliffhanger that MADE you have to check out the next episode immediately. Jessica Jones, not so much. It took me about 3 months to get through that show. Now, I enjoyed it, but it didn’t demand that I consume it immediately. I’m eager to catch Luke Cage, but I wanna go in order, so that means I’ve got to meet the Punisher and Elektra first in Daredevil season 2. So, even though The Defenders comes out in August, I’ll be lucky if I get to it in 2017. Anyway, I told you all that to make you see that my level of enthusiasm for this probably isn’t as high as yours because I’m so far behind. That said, I thought this trailer looked hokey as Hell. The scene where Murdock comes into Jessica’s interrogation felt like a bad fan film. Shit, the whole thing felt like a bad fan film. Remember when Playstation Network aired that Bendis Powers show? Yeah, it looks like that. Something about the cinematography of it all. And then they had to do another goddamn hallway fight. WE GET IT ALREADY! I just don’t know about this one right now..

In other TV news, there are talks of a Roseanne revival, with ABC and Netflix interested bidding on the project. Laurie Metcalf, Aunt Jackie herself, reported that contracts have been worked out, so now they’re just trying to sell the series. Right now, Roseanne (does she currently have a last name?), John Goodman, and Sara Gilbert would star, while Metcalfe says she’s on board in some capacity. It’ll be interesting to see how they pull this off, ya know with Dan being dead and all. Still, it ended with one of the most maligned series finales in television history, and they’ve got a chance to basically erase it. How many shows can say that? Anyway, I was never a huge Roseanne fan. They were just so poor and depressing. Are they gonna lose the bike shop? Are they gonna lose the loose meat restaurant? Is Fisher gonna stop beating up Jackie? I know their struggles resonated with certain folks, but not me. I actually liked the Lottery Season because I could say “Thank God their lives aren’t such shit anymore!” Anyway, I’d bet money on this happening, so it’s now just a matter of where it’s gonna air. The big question is in which “universe” it will be set. After all, the finale basically laid out that everything since about season 4 of the show had been a lie, since Darlene actually ended up with Mark, Becky was the one with David, Jackie was a lesbian, etc. So, would we get the “true” Roseanne, or just more of what we’re used to? And with Mark dead, and David on The Big Bang Theory, I don’t really expect much from those characters anyway. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

I was on my own last weekend, so I took the time to watch TV and catch up comics. Well, I didn’t really watch TV, but it was on in the background. It provided the soundtrack to my comic time. What did I watch? CMT – Country Music Television. Yeah, yeah, you hate country. I don’t care. I grew up on it, so it has a special place in my heart. Anyway, when I saw Brad Paisley’s new video for “Last Time For Everything”, I KNEW I had to share it with y’all. This thing is a love letter to children of the 80s, complete with tracking/tape distortion lines. I don’t wanna spoil anything, so just check it out. Don’t worry – the song’s not about drankin’, or a dead dog, or his wife left him; it’s just a song about appreciating things when you have them because they won’t always be there.
The backdoor pilot for the Black-ish spinoff aired this week. Oh, you don’t know what a “backdoor pilot” is? It’s when an established show gives up one of its episodes to try to launch a new show. Since it already has a built-in audience, it kinda tricks viewers into watching a new show that they otherwise wouldn’t have checked out. Married…with Children had, like, 4 of them. Anyway, in Black-ish, Zoey went off to check out college, made a new best friend, and pissed off the Black Student Union. The whole episode was kinda hokey, but it worked. Chris Parnell was the spineless dean, which is basically every Chris Parnell character these days. And I love how they worked Deon Cole’s Charlie into the plot. If the spinoff gets picked up (I mean, why wouldn’t it?), I hope he gets a bigger role there than he has on Black-ish. If Black-ish is a modern-day Cosby Show, then this is its A Different World. And there ain’t nothing wrong with that, really.

If you like useless gimmick items as much as I do, then make sure you pick up your Frork from McDonalds today. To celebrate the release of their three new Signature Crafted Recipes (Pico Guacamole, Sweet BBQ Bacon, and Maple Bacon Dijon), they’re releasing a utensil that they know nobody needs, but hey, why not? The Frork is basically a fry holder, where the fries act as the tines of the fork. In the infomercial, complete with Anthony Sullivan appearance, they claim the Frork will help you scoop up the toppings that fall off your overflowing sandwich. I swear Anthony Sullivan killed Billy Mays ‘so he’d get ALL that sweet infomercial work. But I digress…If you would like a Frork, check this link to see if one of your local McDonalds locations is giving them out today.
Things You Might Have Missed This Week
HBO has hired writers for FOUR potential Game of Thrones spinoffs. So, get ready for Match of Chairs, Bout of Seats, Mother of Dragons and, my personal favorite, Tits & Swords.
Warner Bros has pushed back its theatrical animated Scooby-Doo film two years to 2020.
Girl Meets World is officially dead, as creator Michael Jacobs was unable to find a new home for the series.
While this news is about a month old, FXX has decided against a fourth season of Man Seeking Woman, which wrapped up its 3rd season in March. The season finale was a fitting series finale, so I ain’t mad.
Hot on the heels of its premiere, Hulu has renewed The Handmaid’s Tale for a second season.
Surprising no one, Fox canceled the freshman drama Pitch, about the first female major league baseball player. Following on their heels, NBC canceled the Wizard of Oz update Emerald City.
It was reported that Gabriel Luna’s Ghost Rider will be returning to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for the season finale
Speaking of Marvel TV, we got our first cast picture from Inhumans. KILL IT! KILL IT WITH FIRE!
We also got our first look at the cast of Marvel’s Runaways on Hulu. They look like the comic, but I still hate that they aged Molly. I like her more as a precocious child to balance them out.
A strike by the Writers Guild of America, which would’ve affected all corners of entertainment, was narrowly averted at the 11th hour
Morning Joe hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski revealed that they’re engaged. Man, they shit in the company ink! That’s the saying, right?
The biggest TV news of the week was that Ryan Seacrest was announced as Kelly Ripa’s permanent cohost on what will now be called Live with Kelly & Ryan. This bothered me so much! First of all, I was really kinda hoping an underdog, like Fred Savage, would get it. And if they had to go with a media person, they had Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen on the list. But Seacrest?! The dude’s empire is based in LA and, yes, he has an empire. He’s a modern-day Merv Griffin, producing Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Shades of Blue, and Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest. He also has a daily syndicated radio show, On Air With Ryan Seacrest, as well as hosts the weekly American Top 40 countdown. With all that going on, you’d think he’d stay in LA instead of taking a job from a New Yorker. Instead, iHeartMedia has built a radio station in the ABC Studios building so that he can do his radio show immediately after taping Live. The plan is for him to stay in New York Monday-Thursday to film Live, he’ll pretape Friday’s show on Thursday, and then he’ll spend Friday-Sunday in LA.
But that’s not ALL the Seacrest news this week. You see, talks of an American Idol revival have heated up again. I wrote about it a few weeks ago, when NBC and Fox were both interested in the show – NBC especially because they could, then, reduce The Voice to one cycle a year. Those talks fell through, but now it appears that ABC has gotten into the game, with one stipulation: there’s no Idol without Seacrest, so the show would have to move to New York so he could continue to host. The show’s production company, Fremantle, insists that it stays in LA. ABC wants to announce it during the May upfronts, which occur in two weeks, for a Fall 2018 premiere (yeah, it ain’t gonna be ready by this Fall). So here’s the plan on how that would work: Fremantle wants to air Idol on Sunday nights from LA, where Seacrest would then fly to NYC after the show in order to make it in time to film Live Monday morning. After filming Monday’s Live, he would then fly back to LA for the Idol results show. Once that’s over, he would fly back to NYC in time for Tuesday’s Live. My God! The live portion of Idol is only 10 weeks, but that is a grueling schedule that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. So far, however, it seems that ABC’s plan would be to air Idol on Mondays, to go head to head with The Voice, so this plan wouldn’t work.
Say what you will about Seacrest, but I’ve always admired the dude’s work ethic. He doesn’t seem to know the word “no”, and he’s constantly building his brand. With the exception of the short-lived On Air With Ryan Seacrest TV show (which is conveniently missing from his Wikipedia entry), he doesn’t really fail at anything. I guess hard work and determination really can take you places. I’ll tell ya, back when he was hosting Click and Gladiators 2000, I had NO CLUE he would become as big as he is. He makes me wanna go out and get 3 more jobs. Then again, I wouldn’t have his net worth of $330 million, but it’d be a start. Anyway, for taking all the jobs, while growing in power, Ryan Seacrest had the West Week Ever.

I saw your reply to the SpoilerTv suspects cancellation for AoS ask. I'm all on board for "Never give up. Never surrender!" But there's this gnawing sad feeling that the Framework arc which is a "reward for loyal fans" will be their farewell gift to us (somehow bringing things to a full circle). But then they already knew what they had planned when the season started and they wouldn't have treated it as their last season right from the start, right? I need to know that I'm overthinking this 😭
Hi Anon!
I won’t lie, we have to prepare ourselves that this is it.  Its not that we’re not going down without a fight, but we need to be ready.   They/we knew going in with our ‘lower’ ratings and new time slot it would be an uphill battle.   So I do think they have planned the season out “Just in Case”.  Doing the story they wanted to do just in case we don’t get one more and allowing us to have a satisfying ending...could you imagine if we’d been cancelled at the end of season 2 and never known Jemma’s fate?
Ghost Rider was fun and all but it was a grab for a new demographic, hoping to pull his fans into the show.  And it didn’t really work.  Us loyal fans stayed but it didn’t bring in many new viewers.  And from my little bubble here and the asks I am getting, as a whole the fandom enjoyed LMD more, not everyone, but the fandom as a whole.   We had a better ensemble focus, Fitzsimmons fans got some lovely domestic Fitzsimmons and Fitz’s backstory (not to mention now the Fitznapping and Woman on Fire Arc), Philinda fans got Philinda, Daisy was healing and had some awesome fight scenes, Mackelena fans got something, and for me personally it worked better.  I liked the Mad Science angle and Radcliffe/AIDA make some pretty darn good baddies
So just as in Ghost Rider was a grab for new fans...I feel the Framework is a way of getting old fans back (I already know some have or are going to come back).  Those that we lost in Season’s 1 and 2. When I fangirl with people about the show and ask if they watch, its amazing how many stopped in Season One...right before Turn, Turn, Turn (which is when I got really hooked).  With the Framework the writers get to do what we do all the time with fan fic....What If and Oh so *insert favorite character* didn’t do x and this is what happened.  It gives them even a do over with some aspects of a character.  Ward for example.  Again my personal soap box moment here. I LOVED him as a baddie especially in Season 2 (except the Bobbi stuff could have done without that) and Season 3 before Malick go to him.  I would have LOVED to see a full Head of Hydra arc from him.  But at the same time I LOVED him as Big Brother Ward with Fitz (and if I”m really lucky I’m gonna get a twisted version of both here).
Other shows have done this too, had a twist or a situation that allowed them to bring back a beloved character without raising them from the dead.  Start Trek TNG (you guys sick of me using that yet?) brought Tasha Yar back a NUMBER of times.  She was popular with fans and killed off in Season 1.  1!  But they would still bring her in through the entire run of the show in different ways (including the time they visited the Dark Mirror Universe which was all sorts for fun).  And their final episodes was one of those love letters to fans too as essentially we got a bit of everything all over again with one of the most satisfying endings I have ever had in my TV viewing time.
So think of this as “Just in Case”.  If they don’t get a 5th season we are getting a chance to see our all of our favorites again.  If they do, great!   The ending of Season 4 will allow for a fair amount of closure on a lot of things and allow them to start Season 5 with almost a clear game board.  We can have a new base, we can have the characters moving to different jobs and positions, heck they could do a even bigger fast forward.
Keep fighting guys but at the same time be prepared.  It looks like the hiatus re watch project is a go here and make sure when we tweet we tweet at Colo and ABC too so they know what we are up too.

I am beyond pressed that Still Star Crossed got canceled. D: Rosaline and Benvolio!!! THEY KISSED THROUGH THE BARS !!!! THEY TRUST EACH OTHER. I canNOT. He cried a single tear - A SINGLE TEAR - when they kissed! And poor Livia! I feel horrible for her. I can't believe we won't get to see more of the show.
IK!! I’m so mad. I don’t know if I hate more the people on tumblr for making me ship rosvolio before I even watched the show, the ABC for canceling it after just 3 episodes or at me for getting into a show that I knew was canceled.
I think for now there is still hope that maybe another network will pick it up or abc changes their mind if the fans make enough noise.
If all of that fails, alas we still have the book and on AO3 there are some really great fanfiction.
