So I’ve seen people talking about what the characters would wear if there was a Halloween episode and here’s my two cents 😌

Starting off I do think the night shift and day shift would have a bet going for best costume

I feel like the nurses Dana,Perlah and Princess would choose to go with Halloween scrubs instead of a costume

Robby:Superman-He would Be wearing his usual cargo pants/hoodie/glasses outfit but with a Superman shirt under his hoodie so he can recreate the famous Superman pose

Abbot:Batman-now abbots costume is simple just his usual black scrubs but he’s sewn a Batman symbol on the pocket. what really brings it together though is the fact that for his whole shift he will only talk In the Batman Voice

Collin’s:Dionne Davenport-now imo Collin’s isn’t that big of a fan of Halloween but she LOVES to dress up and the added bet for best costume just adds fuel to her fire. She would ultimately choose Dionne’s Famous Plaid Blazer Skirt outfit hat and all.

Langdon:Han Solo- Langdon is definitely a huge Star Wars fan and when given the chance will dress up as his favorite character,Han solo. His costume is so accurate that the Pitt crew is convinced he started working on it in like march. (he accidentally ends up matching with Mel)

Mohan: Cat-Like The Nurses Mohan Decides To Keep It Simple, all black scrubs paired with cat ears and drawn on whiskers. But abbot does end up asking her if she’s catwoman.

McKay: The Scarlet Witch-McKay Decides to go as the scarlet witch because of her son’s love of marvel, she decides to match with Mateo who’s going as vision. Both of them wearing red scrubs, McKay wearing the scarlet witch crown and Mateo wearing the mind stone on his forehead.

Mel:Princess Leia-Mel Loves Halloween,Her And Her Sister Go All Out every year, Becca helps Mel Choose her costume from their shared love of Star Wars. Mel does her hair up in the iconic Princess Leia buns and wears white scrubs to match leias gown.

Santos:BeetleJuice-she definitely loves the movies and is a big fan of the musical, so when she hears there’s a bet going around she works passionately on her costume. She paints her face, wears a wig and even finds black and white striped scrubs to match beetlejuices suit.

Javadi: Ms.Marvel-so before javadi settled on her costume she asked Mateo what he was going as secretly hoping they could match, but as he tells her he’s matching with McKay the usual feeling of awkwardness overtook javadi “oh I love marvel,I’m actually going as ms marvel” Javadi actually knows the basics of marvel and that’s it. She ends up working her shift dressed in red and blue scrubs hoping no one would quiz her.

Whitaker:Spider-Man- His Favorite Spider-Man Being Tobey Maguire, Whitaker Chooses to Wear A Spider-Man suit for his Halloween shift, he has his Spider-Man suit under his scrubs the long sleeves of the costume poking out and the hood hanging out of the back of his scrubs shirt

Garcia: Morticia Addams- Garcia loves three things Halloween,Surgery and Bets. Dressing up as Morticia Adams was something she’s always wanted to do so with a little makeup and black scrubs her Halloween costume was made

Shen And Ellis: every year shen and Ellis do a matching costume, this year they both decide to dress as their superiors Abbot and Robby. Shen As Robby And Ellis as Abbot, they are dressed like old men. Shen wearing A zip up jacket and cargo pants paired with a grey wig. Ellis is in black scrubs and a curly grey wig. Both of them have amazing impressions of Robby and Abbot.

well first of all welcome! as much as i walk like a d20 blog and talk like a d20 blog i am in fact a naddpod blog a lot of the time so. look out. (everyone)

this is gonna get long.

now, to the task at hand.

imagine if you will that four improvisers/comedians who are very good friends combine their powers to tell stories that they want to completely sit in while also having the ultimate goal of making each other laugh.

naddpod is first and foremost a comedy podcast, there’s a reason dragon pussy comes up four and a half minutes in, there’s a reason “cumpatriots” being said in today’s episode left me completely unfazed. they want it to be silly. they enjoy it being silly.

but god do they also just simply care.

they care about their characters, they care about each other’s characters. they create a world together where when the dm (murph, most often) gives them a shocking twist, you can hear them waiting with bated breath, the same as you, for what will come next.

there are also so many deeply devastating emotional moments. “you ruined my night, brian.” is said in the show and oft repeated by the fans for a goddamn reason. you feel for the characters when bad things happen. you can’t wait to see them resolved. and they don’t feel cheap when they happen. you’re having a great time even as they have terrible times.

the worlds feel lived in. you also feel like you can see the worlds be created as you listen. it’s just so fun. there are several episodes where if i listen to them during a shit day i feel so much better.

sometimes, it’s deeply stupid. and it’s very fun. god are some bits insane. (shoutout to dip spit). but it’s just a good time.

they’re also incredible writers. the stories the dms are trying to tell come from this pure place of loving what they’re doing and being very good at it.

murph’s encounters are also some of the best in the game. even when they’re similar they don’t feel tired. he creates pictures you can see so vividly without having any visual aids. he keeps the stakes high even though he clearly wants his players to win. and they’re so endlessly creative. (c3 def has some of the best encounters due to his experience at that point but don’t discount some of the mighty c1 and c2 ones either)

in conclusion, listen to naddpod. please. you’ll have a great time. if you don’t enjoy the dragon pussy of it all, you might not love it, but if you enjoy it or can power through it, you’ll have fun.

and now. a quick rundown of like the general conceit of each (completed) campaign off the top of my head. in case you’re curious about where to start. (you can start at the beginning of any of these, in any order) and fuck it. i’m including a spotify link to every ep 1. i’m also def gonna do a bad job so. grain of salt etc etc.

bahumia (campaign 1): three legendary heroes saved the world three years ago, cumulating in their killing the devil. but then they vanished. and things have gone bad. so our adventurers attempt to figure out what happened. and how they can fix it. (100 episodes, dm’d by murph) (x)

trinyvale: sci-fi. three roommates work for a corporation on mini retrieval missions that eventually all come together to point toward one large mystery: what happened to the gods and how does it impact the world? (22 episodes, plus a few one-shots or mini arcs, dm’d by caldwell) (x)

the mavrus chronicles: five lads who are each other’s boys go on a beach vacation and one gets lost. they have to find out what happened, and find their friend, even if it means trekking across the water into the mysterious fog (7 episodes, dm’d by emily, ft. zac oyama’s guest pc from bahumia) [also has a sequel campaign, blazing babe, where they go to a burning man-esque festival and try to figure out who’s trying to ruin it. you can’t listen to that on its own. it has 4 episodes](x)

eldermourne (campaign 2): a dark fairy tale setting where those devoted to the gods continue to hold their alleged promises over people’s heads without quite explaining what it really means. and a secret order has left behind our heroes, who have no choice but to try to track them and what they’re working toward down. ba2mia (campaign 3): we return to the world of campaign one, 200 years later. things have changed in the world a lot in the time in between, and it’s a much more cyber-punky place now. our heroes work for a megacorp attempting to dig itself into every major city in the world. they do their best to outrun that. and its ripples. twilight sanctorum: the family business is as detectives. and the business is slow. in a noir setting, a father/grandfather, son/father, and grandson/son work together to solve one single mystery: who is threatening the featured performer at the town’s most famous theater. I’m sure a lot of people think this way too but I just want to clarify: all shipping I do is just for fun. I don’t legitimately think any characters in tadc would be a good romantic pair. The show isn’t written with romance in mind and I don’t think any characters are gonna “end up together”

I also think a lot of the characters have some baggage that wouldn’t be great for a healthy relationship. Like Caine obviously has an ego. He doesn’t fully understand how humans work and doesn’t seem open to any feedback. It’s obvious that Pomni and the rest of the cast don’t like him

that being saaaiiiiddd- I’m a huge sucker for supernatural romance and the idea of the two of them growing more comfortable in each others companionship is really cute to me. So in my little au, Caine is a lot more open to learn about humans and becomes less self focused, while Pomni learns more about how this game works and finds some wonder and beauty in it through him so if I post anymore ships and your thought is: these two would never be cannon!!! You’re exactly right. I’m just making them hold hands and love each other because I’m in serious need of fluff atm

what inspired you to write socialites?? its such an original and interesting idea it would be cool to know how you came up with it

Omg I love this question so much because so many random things fed into the chaos stew that became Socialites, and I still can’t believe it’s turned into what it has. So here’s the semi-organized brain dump of what inspired me:

First off—the canon itself! I was always obsessed with the idea that Nico and the Seven would 100% be the subject of camp gossip. Like, they’ve literally fought titans and gods and monsters and saved the world multiple times. The other campers must know some version of what happened… but I love imagining that over time, the stories just grew arms and legs. Got weirder. More dramatic. “Leo once built a bomb out of an acorn and a sock.” “Annabeth stared down Athena herself and won.” “Nico di Angelo killed a man with just a look.” So I thought: what if I took that reputation and dropped them in a no-magic college AU? What if they were still legends, but in a completely human setting?

The Secret History by Donna Tartt was a huge inspiration too. I loved the idea of a narrator (like Will) kind of being drawn to this enigmatic, self-contained group who feel larger than life. In TSH, Richard shows up at this elite college and becomes obsessed with this mysterious group of Classics students who seem untouchable, glamorous, weirdly intense. That energy definitely made its way into how I wrote Will watching Nico & the Seven from afar at first—how they feel like myths come to life.

Also… Mean Girls. Specifically that scene where everyone shares the wild rumors they’ve heard about Regina George?? That was a vibe. I wanted the campus to feel alive with that kind of exaggerated whisper-network energy. Like how sometimes there’s just That Person™ on campus that everyone treats like a local celeb for no reason, and gossip about them is so much more interesting than normal gossip. Me and my friends have 100% had group chats like “saw [insert legendary uni guy] at Tesco buying kale… what’s he planning” and I channeled that SO hard into the campus dynamics.

Also, a huge source of inspiration is obviously Greek mythology itself—especially the way it weaves love and death so tightly together. I’ve definitely drawn on myths like Orpheus and Eurydice (the whole “looking back and losing what you love” energy runs deep in Nico’s arc) and Apollo and Hyacinthus, which mirrors so much of Will and Nico’s dynamic—sunlight and shadow, joy and grief, love that transforms and wounds at the same time. Those stories echo in the way they see each other, the way they hurt, and the way they try to love anyway.

Other inspirations:

Gossip Girl, especially for the “rich kids with secrets” vibe, local celebrity energy, and the sense that everyone’s always watching and speculating

Twelfth Night, because I’m forever obsessed with messy identity stuff, romantic chaos, miscommunication, and everyone falling in love at wildly inconvenient times

Dead Poets Society, for the moody academic aesthetic, emotional repression, boys being intense about their feelings, and that vibe of “I just want to feel something real”

Normal People, for the longing, the communication disasters, the tension between love and shame, and the feeling of being seen too clearly

The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt, especially for Nico’s backstory—trauma, grief, beauty, obsession, and the idea of clinging to something painful because it’s the only thing that feels real

The Secret History, obviously, but also more broadly the whole dark academia aesthetic of intellect and decay, wine-stained secrets, and people who are too smart for their own good

Marie Antoinette (the Sofia Coppola film) for the aesthetic dissonance—beautiful people being sad and chaotic in glittery settings while the world burns quietly around them

Every university gossip thread that starts with “so I just saw this guy in the library in full Renaissance cosplay and…”

And honestly? Tumblr. Just Tumblr energy. Overwrought poetry, gay yearning, candlelight, and memes. All of it.

I really wanted to do a college AU because it’s such a goldmine for plot; found family, roommates, study sessions, parties, identity crises, chaotic flirting in libraries… plus, I got to give everyone majors that nodded to their godly heritage, which was honestly so fun to figure out.

One challenge has been keeping everyone true to character, even though they haven’t had the exact same canon traumas. I’ve tried to rework those events into realistic equivalents—like having Bianca still be dead, but from a drowning accident, so that Nico can still carry guilt and grief and have that tension with Percy. It’s a balance, but I’ve loved the challenge.

One of the biggest things I wanted to explore with Socialites was the theme of class and wealth disparity, which is also super present in The Secret History. That book plays a lot with how wealth can be both seductive and isolating, how it gives people power, access, mystery, freedom, but also creates distance between them and the rest of the world. I was really drawn to that tension, especially in a college setting where people from totally different backgrounds are suddenly thrown together.

In this AU, Nico and the Seven are all wildly wealthy; old money, legacy kid, high-society vibes—and that was definitely a plot device to match the larger-than-life reputation they have on campus. Like, of course the group of rumoured demigod-style local legends would also be weirdly rich and cryptic and have a private chef named Claudius or something. But for Nico in particular, I wanted to amp it up, partly because Hades is canonically the god of wealth (not just death), and partly because it fit his specific brand of cold, distant, intimidating mystery. He’s not just rich, he’s untouchably rich. The kind of wealth that people don’t question because they assume it comes with power you shouldn’t question.

That said—I never wanted to glamorize that kind of obscene privilege. It’s beautiful in a dark, aesthetically pleasing way, sure. But it’s also isolating, suffocating, and a huge source of emotional disconnection for Nico. That’s where Will comes in. He’s from a totally different world, and I really leaned into that contrast. His background is closer to what Taylor Swift sings about in “I Bet You Think About Me”—like, “you grew up in a silver spoon gated community / I grew up on a farm / no, it wasn’t a mansion.” That line? That’s Will. That’s his whole vibe. I’ve seen so many TikTok edits to that exact lyric and they perfectly capture the contrast between him and Nico, the way Will is constantly aware of the difference, even when no one else brings it up.

The angst block centered so much around this theme too—Will’s spirals were about shame, pride, internalized inferiority, and the weight of being on the outside looking in. It’s not just about money—it’s about power. About who gets to feel like they belong. About who can afford to make mistakes and still be forgiven. Will grew up having to hustle for everything, and the fact that Nico doesn’t even think about money because he’s never had to? That’s a chasm between them, even when they love each other.

I’m definitely going to be digging back into this in upcoming chapters—especially as Will continues to reckon with what it means to be loved by someone so far outside his world, and as Nico starts to confront the privileges he’s inherited and the cost of keeping that power intact. It’s one of the core themes of the fic: how wealth can shape people in ways they don’t even realize, and how intimacy—real, vulnerable intimacy—requires tearing down the walls that wealth and class so often build.

So yeah. I wanted this fic to be funny and romantic and chaotic, but I also wanted it to say something. And this theme in particular has been one of the most important ones to me from the very beginning.

And YES, music has been huge for me while writing this! I make playlists not just to vibe, but to help me get into the emotional headspace of a scene. Sometimes it’s specific lyrics that spark a moment, and other times it’s just the aura of a song. I’d honestly love to do a deep dive sometime and go through the playlist track by track with notes like “this lyric = Will’s entire crisis in chapter 12.” So if anyone ever wants that… please know I’d go feral doing it.

Basically iseya/eiwajima switching places with izaya/shizuo

I’ve never really posted abt things before and this is the first time I’m attempting to write abt something in such detail, so please bear with me🥲

I want to emphasize that this is all post ketsu but prob before sh and sunset novels bc I’m literally ignoring some characters.

Iseya is shocked to find himself in a wheelchair, looks for the one person he knows and trusts, eiwajima, only to find someone slightly different, in appearance and also behavior. When they meet he looks at him like he’s grown a second head, the wheelchair shocks him too but he also wasn’t expecting izaya to just appear in front of him with no purpose. Iseya just looks at him, comments on the hair that while he does look good blonde he prefers his natural brown.

Shizuo thinks he’s playing games so he shouts and takes a step closer and they’re both shocked to see izayas body tremble. Iseya gets glimpses of the battle in his head, his mind repeating the events over and over again and he understands. They’re not together, they’re hardly even friends. They’re enemies. How he can’t even begin to understand, how he could come to hate this man? He’s so much like eiwajima, just with sharper edges.

He takes a look around people are staring and whispering, some recognize them both and think they’re gonna get into a fight. He doesn’t like hearing them talk, despite his love for people he doesn’t really want to be seen right now, not in front of him like this when everything’s so complicated but also not. He doesn’t really know what to do now. He wanted to confine in the one person he knew he could talk to, but that person doesn’t exist the way he does in his memories.

Shizuo doesn’t understand what’s going through the fleas head but he can see him thinking. He almost looks sad, which is weird because izaya would never show emotion, especially not to him.

Iseya understands their rivalry more or less because despite everything it’s still them, so he tells him that he remembers him differently but he doesnt want to hurt him. He wants to learn more about him. He doesn’t know how long he’ll stay here or even how he came here, but he knew from the start that something was different. And so if he’s gonna have to stay here it’ll be with this alternate version of eiwajima, whatever their past may have been.

Shizuo is dumbfounded but agrees bc this guy, whoever he is, seems much easier to get along w than izaya, or maybe it’s just a side of izaya he never got the chance to see. (Or maybe in the very back of his mind he’s actually still playing games w him)

After talking (he realizes that this being a lie is too much of a stretch even for izaya) he feels sad to find out that they exists somewhere and they’re together, they’re friends they talk and laugh and are happy. Iseya, he calls himself, tells him about eiwajima and how he is, what his life is like and he is so jealous of his alternate self because he really is living the life he’s wanted since he found out he had this cursed strength.

He feels this loss, that he could have had that if he tried hard enough. The voice in his head telling him that eiwajima makes iseya feel good while he put izaya in a wheelchair. Eiwajima has wooed iseya while he scared izaya away. He really wonders if he has anything in common with the guy, but he must because iseya is staring at him like he’s holding the sun.

Iseya kisses him at some point and shizuo finds he doesn’t know what he’ll do when this guy leaves because he’s really enjoying their time together.

Alternatively if it’s eiwajima switching places, he’s rather confused at the hair and doesn’t like hearing people talk abt him while he walks, it seems they have nothing nice to say and they all avoid him like he’d crush them with his glance.

Of course he seeks out iseya only find a wheelchair bound man who feels like iseya but has a very unsettling vibe. He is obviously wounded if the wheelchair wasn’t enough to go by but apart from that the man freezes at his appearance and is trembling.

He immediately realizes that they don’t share the same relationship and past he knows to be true. What’s more they not only don’t get along but things have escalated between them so far that he’s managed to traumatize the man before him.

He doesn’t know what the best course of action here is, he doesn’t want to speak for alternate him because he doesn’t quite understand the extent of their situation, but “iseya” looks at him with such hatred and demands answers that he quite frankly doesn’t have.

He decides to come clean bc he couldn’t pretend to hate him even if he tried. He explains who he is and what he actually wanted by coming here and alternate iseya is so confused. He starts ridiculing him and it does kinda piss him off but when he accidentally punches a hole through the wall in frustration and “iseya” freezes again all his anger goes away.

He tells him that he cares about him. That despite what they’ve been through here he misses iseya and wants to see him. He tells him that they’re alike in some ways and he finds them endearing and wouldn’t trade what he has w iseya for anything. That they’re happy.

Izaya looks so bitter and hates that what this fake Shizu-chan is saying actually makes him want it, he realizes that he might be jealous and gets pisses bc as if he’d be jealous. He tells fake shizu that fake him is prob just lying to him and actually hates him but he’s hiding it to use him for his own advantage, bc that’s what kind of person he is really and if they’re anything alike then that’s what’s gonna happen.

Eiwajima just gives him a sad smile (which pisses izaya off even more). He knows what the words mean, that the world he’s describing, his home, is making the other man emotional. He strongly and confidently says that iseya loves him and he knows it. It’s not possible to fake their kind of love, and he doesn’t mind being used by that man, they love eachother and that’s all that really matters.

Izaya has never hated anyone more than this man before. He’s so much worse than shizu-chan bc he doesn’t get angry, he doesn’t react to anything he just sits there, spouts all this nonsense and looks at him like he’s actually in love w him and he really doesn’t know how to get out of this situation, he doesn’t want to be here but he’s so incredibly curious abt their life. He knows this guy is telling the truth but he refuses to believe it bc it seems so dreamlike and unreal, he can’t fathom being happy as described, much less with this man.

Eiwajima wants to stay with him, despite the fact that he didn’t actually do anything to bring this man such pain he still sees the emotions swimming around in his eyes and he wants to help him. Despite the fact that it’s not his iseya, it’s still this worlds version of him and that’s enough for him to try and fix whatever they have going on, or at least help in some way. He tries to get close, as close as he’s allowed and talks about whatever he remembers from his home, all things almost always leading to iseya of course. He tries various topics hoping the other will come in at some point and they’ll have a normal conversation, as normal as it can get anyways.

Izaya eventually does, they talk like they’re friends. Izaya can’t comprehend what’s happening but he’s trying not to think about, fake Shizu-chan is interesting, he likes hearing about this world of theirs and his life there, he realizes that he’s having a casual conversation and it’s easy too he’s easy to talk to and listen to. He’s enjoying this more than he originally thought he would. He wonders if his Shizu-chan is this nice to be around when he’s not throwing things at him, which he knows is probably true, he just has never been on the receiving end of shizuo’s kindness. However this “eiwajima” he’s very charming, and he can’t seem to look away from those eyes.

Idk where this is going but yeah I just want them to find out abt their alternate lives separately and cry abt how miserable they are. Maybe they would try to find each other and start over (in a sense) after this happens so they can actually make a happy ending for themselves (or a happy new beginning)

them actually swapping places makes it hurt more since they’re inserted into this foreign world. They would both be shocked to find their supposed enemy sleeping next to them and the ppl around them liking them, I don’t think they’d ruin anything, well maybe izaya would try depending on what would happen but I don’t think he’d would want to make these ppl hate alternate him even just to spite him bc they prob wouldn’t, I mean they know what he’s like and they like him so…

shizu would be so shocked to see ppl liking him random ppl not afraid of him but wanting him around, he’d be afraid to talk to them so as not to hurt them. And then as far as their relationship goes they’d be happy but also sad that they can’t have it.

Overall it would mostly be sad (bc as it seems I love angst), heartbreaking really, to see what they could have had but weren’t as lucky as the other two. There’s a lot of reasons as to why the two of them never really got the chance to get along (which I’m not gonna get into now bc that’s a whole other story and lots of ppl have already made theories on it) but I think that seeing versions of themselves happy and well is like a slap in the face bc had their circumstances been different they could have had that, had they tried to do things differently they could have had something similar.

This has been in my head for a while (post ketsu usually is on repeat) and I really had to get it out bc it’s too much, and it turned into a whole ass essay🥲 this is the first time I’m attempting this tho so pls don’t look into it too much, it’s a mess of thoughts that I can’t quite put together. I apologize if there’s any mistakes or holes in it, it’s def ooc so yeah…

I have a really dumb question, but I’m assuming you know the answer: what’s the difference between top speed and cruising speed on a plane?

Not a dumb question at all! An aircraft’s top speed is, of course, the maximum airspeed it can achieve. Maximum speed is not maintained for long periods of time due to the fact that it can destroy the engine, it wastes fuel, or can otherwise cause wear and tear on the airframe as a whole. Cruise speed, on the other hand, is the average speed it travels for maximum efficiency and generally for safety. This is a general rule for commercial, recreational, and military aircraft as far as I’m aware. These speeds can also change with the aircraft’s altitude or whether they are ‘feet wet’ (over water) or ‘feet dry’ (over land). Another quirk of (specifically American) fighter jets* is the setting known as “WEP,” or war emergency power. (*Many modern air forces who also have domestic aero programs make jets with a similar setting, though it goes by different names). WEP started with WWII-era American piston-pusher propellor fighters. Designed to only be used in emergencies, it is a throttle setting that forces the aircraft’s engine to produce more than 100% of its rated power for (in US craft) up to five minutes. It is a throttle setting most often barred behind a physical lock that a pilot must break to access. (In the P-51D, there was a hard wire that would stop your throttle joystick from being moved forward; if slammed ball to the wall, it would snap the wire and force the engine into WEP.) WEP can absolutely destroy and melt an engine, and if not destroy it, it often damages it to a level that means it will need repairs if it’s lucky enough to get back home.

WEP gives a (jet) fighter pilot extra thrust in the engine, which will affect their performance, and as mentioned above, it is for emergencies. Usually in a dogfight, but might be accessed for evasive countermeasures/countermaneuvers when under scrutiny of a missile or other kinetic projectile. Over the years, most other militaries have developed a similar WEP feature, with a notable example being the Soviet VVS seen in the MiG-21bis. Designed to compete with the brand new and far more advanced F-16/F/A-18, the MiG-21bis was fitted with a brand new engine that could allow for two minutes of WEP that actually gave it a near-match in terms of performance! However, a consequence was that the engine might be unserviceable upon landing and cooldown due to lower quality materials.

okay so i wanted to address this because one of my best friends is having an issue with this on wattpad and i know a lot of people here on tumblr have problems with this too;

being inspired by someone’s fic or book or whatever is COMPLETELY OKAY! i do it, other writers do it, everyone does it, but what is not okay is taking their whole plot, characters, and other details and just spinning it into your own little story. basically copying their graphics, their layouts, how they have everything set up, their whole entire fic/story/account is not okay. we as writers take pride in our work and we’re grateful to have inspired you but it doesn’t give you liberty to go and copy our work and change it up a bit, then go and advertise it as if it’s yours.

EVEN IF YOU CREDIT THEM, it doesn’t lessen the edge to what you’re doing! saying it’s “heavily inspired” by another person’s work does not to anything to take away from the fact that in the end, you are still taking someone else’s own, hard work and making it your own. if you are KNOWINGLY copying someone’s work whether you acknowledge it or not, know that something like that is unacceptable. sometimes things may align in such a manner that it seems like someone’s copying you when it all just ends up as a coincidence, and THAT is okay!

some people may not speak up about it, others may directly approach the person and acknowledge it, but however the ORIGINAL author handles the situation does not make anything more or less okay to do. even if we don’t explicitly state it in our bios or first chapter of our books, it does not make it acceptable to copy our work. regardless if you copy it word for word or if you shift things around/make your own little changes, it is still OUR original work and ours only. we took time and effort to craft our work into what it is, so please don’t take work from other writers.

you are an amazing person and you CAN think of things on your own, you just have to find what works best for you! whether it be the way you make your own account aesthetic to the way you pick at every little detail in the way your masterlist/introduction chapter is set up, MAKE IT YOUR OWN!

I keep thinking about my girls (gender neutrally) and I need to talk about it so *chucks this in your face*

I just finished Escape the Pizzaplex, and I realized that Cassie and Gregory were never friends. Not that Cassie wasn’t friends with someone named Gregory, she just wasn’t friends with actual Gregory. She was friends with GGY.

Cause whenever Gregory was at the Pizzaplex, he was GGY (or at least the majority of the time). And due to some motive, the Mimic wanted kids, so he made Vanny and GGY to be his little evil guys to do his evil bidding. So GGY was just there to snatch Cass. Also, I love the idea that GGY is just luring kids in by being their friend, then sicking Monty on them.

But if Cassie was never friends with Gregory, then that makes the Ruin ending even sadder. Cause the real Gregory gets her to the elevator, just to drop it. The only reason she listened to him was because she trusted him, but he probably didn’t even know her name before that day :(

Either that, or Gregory KNEW he was putting Cassie in danger by being her friend, but was too selfish to let her go.

Or the secret 3rd option where Gregory just doesn’t know about GGY or the Mimic at all and somehow brushes off not remembering like 8 hours of a day.

Anyways, I hate this theory cuz I love my girls. And there is definitely at least a few months between Escape the Pizzaplex and Security Breach, so maybe something happened there! (No i’m not delusional from this theory I made myself)

EDIT: How do we show appreciation to the volunteers? For me reading these deep dives on OTW issues u guys apparently it's been said multiple times that one of their objective statements is to have paid staff for ao3 and there's a surplus of donations they haven't used up or the other community solutions that needs to address. For those more financially literate feel free to analyze, snipe me or add to the discussion etc. linked here by deepa. They’re cool and these yearly analysis they did aint no joke.
