What’s your fave obscure movie/tv show, something people immediately google cuz they have no clue what you’re talking about

There’s probably some better ones but my immediate thoughts are: Zevo-3

So Zevo-3, which I thought was pretty popular but I have had several people confused, was a superhero show made by Sketchers that got cancelled because it was ruled that ads for kid’s can’t be over, like, 3 minutes long? and this show was obviously just an ad for kids

Yeah. It was my “cyborg cider-man”.

I haven’t looked it up as an adult because I know it’s not gonna live up to my nostalgia, but as a kid, it has this great premise??

So, from memory: These 3 kids become superheroes while this evil guy becomes mayor, and people also start becoming mutants? Well, anyways, so the mutant stuff and part of the town being blocked off was all relatively new, but the citizens were being brainwashed into thinking that this is how life always was, as well as also being made to believe other stuff, I forget what, I think that all mutants are evil? And that the superheroes were evil? And only the heroes and possibly the mutants weren’t brainwashed

And I don’t know I just always loved that, it was so cool, and I did. kinda really want sketchers. as a kid. cause of that.

I think about it every time I see sketchers, and even though I really don’t think it’s “obscure”, no one ever knows what I’m talking about when I mention it, like they know the ads with the sketcher heroes, but not that there was an entire show

I haven’t even read the epilogue yet, but apparently the last few chapters of Ascendance of a Bookworm Part 4 Volume 3 was written solely to make me ugly cry for an hour. (Spoilers ahead)

That goodbye was brutal. I cannot. I am so upset about this. I was upset waaaay back in the beginning for being denied my rightful Gunther and Myne father and daughter ADORABLENESS! When she unthinkingly reached out to him after the Hasse execution and he gave her his coat? I was a puddle of tears y’all 😭 😭

And now? This last tie being severed and those two years being lost is just too cruel. I’m sure later I’ll squeal over how cute it was for Ferdinand to praise her like that (b/c omg it was SO cute!), but right now all I can think about is how tragic and sad it must have been for him. How unexpectedly happy he must have been to receive such praise, that would only come once a year. How utterly alone he must have felt sometimes…

Right so I’m back to crying. This book is more than kicking me in the feelings. I got hit with a 20 hit combo and am down for the count.

the way that when mulder sees his dad in colony he reaches out to hug him

and gets cut off with a handshake

is so sad to me because the next time that mulder goes to see his dad, in anasazi, he instantly shakes his hand

he just notices and internalizes everything around him and the way people respond to him and what people want from him, and moments like this where he’s remembering and acting out of that learned information, are so telling
