The problem about having brainrot for your own fic is that I want to talk about it constantly but I don’t want to spoil anything but I want to talk about motives and characters and just the events but I want to preserve mystery and suspense

Hey hey Lia 💜,
I only just realised that you were doing the fanfic asks, so I am a little late, but I am wondering about 8,17, 18, 27, 29 and 37 ( I know these are a lot of numbers, so feel free to just answer the ones you want to)
Wishing you a so wenig stressig wie möglich weekend!
Sophia thanks for sending so many!! I love talking about writing 💜💜💜
8) Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
This took me ages to decide. I'm actually not even proud of it because I think it is necessarily particularly well written, but because it's a topic I have very strong feelings about and it felt so validating when I saw how many people resonated with it!
“No, you misunderstand, they didn’t out me. They just asked me about my sexuality and, you know, it was necessary. It’s the sort of thing they’d have to ask me for damage control.”
“Wille, I get that your life can be sort of strange at times and that it often follows different rules and all that, but that is, by definition, still what it means to be outed. I’m glad it didn’t feel like another violation of your privacy to you, but they still shouldn’t have done that,” Simon said, vehemently.
[...] “I’m sorry. I wished people stopped acting like they have any right to know our sexualities. [....]
17) Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write the scenes out of order?
Depends on the story! Royally Whipped I'm mostly writing in order since I don't have much time to write the chapters, so I'll only write down ideas for future scenes. For my new WIP I've written parts of different chapters already. In the chapters themselves I jump around and hardly every write one in chronological order.
18) Do you use any tools, like worksheets or outlines?
No. I have a very, very rough outline, but it mostly only has specific scenes or emotional stages I want to write towards. I never keep to any outlines and overthrow them within minutes after making them, so I no longer bother with them lmao.
27) How do you feel about collaborations?
I did one ages ago, when I was still in school. It was a lot of fun and I'd definitely be open for it again, but it certainly takes up more time and you need someone you can trust in.
29) If you could write the sequel (or prequel) to any fic out there not written by yourself, which would you choose?
Honestly? The answer is none, just because I don't think I could do any of my favorite stories justice. Not because I think my writing is bad, but because I love them as much because of the special something they have thanks to the author who's written them. Wouldn't say no to a sequel or prequel written by them though asfdhsfdkja
37) Talk about your current wips.
I've briefly talked about my next projects here. But my BIG WIP's right now are Royally Whipped which is very close to being done (probably two more chapters) and then #Simon's revenge.
Some people have been asking for a social media chapter for RW, which is extremely flattering, and I love reading those, but don't even know how to begin putting one together. So, that might happen, if I ever get my shit together (or someone else volunteers to do it ahsjfdasj).
Simon's renevge is a AU where Wille isn't Prince (still rich tho) and meets Simon under... interesting circumstances. Simon is seeking revenge on someone else and poor Wille becomes emotional collateral damage. It'll be less fluffy than RW, though hopefully just as fun. It's very gremlin!simon (channelling all his dodgeball energy). I have a moodboard that I might post soon and maybe some snippets leading up to it's release, if anyone's interested.

*drops my pile of questions like a stack of heavy books* I decided to ask a little of everything:
3. Describe the creative process of writing a chapter/fic
4. Where do you find inspiration for new ideas?
7. How do you choose which POV to write from?
12. How does receiving or not receiving feedback/support impact you?
13. What’s a common writing tip that you almost always follow?
17. What do you do when writing becomes difficult? (maybe a lack of inspiration or writers block)
18. Do you title your fics before, during, or after the writing process? How do you come up with titles?
19. What is the most-used tag on your ao3?
20. Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc?
22. Are there certain types of writing you won’t do? (style, pov, genre, tropes, etc)
23. Best writing advice for other writers?
24. Worst writing advice anyone ever gave you?
27. What is your most and least favorite part of writing?
29. What’s your revision or editing process like?
31. Do you start with the characters or the plot when writing?
33. Do you want to be published some day?
34. Five years from now, where do you see yourself as a writer?
38. Would you ever write commissions?
39. Share a snippet from a WIP.
40. If someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?
41. Do you tend to reread fics or are you a one-and-done kind of person?
46. How would you describe your style? (Character/emotion/action-driven, etc)
47. How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?
48. What do you look for in a beta?
52. Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
54. What’s your favorite part about the fanfiction writing process?
55. Of the characters you write for, which is your favorite? Has that choice been swayed at all by your followers/readers’ reactions to certain ones?
56. What’s something about your writing that you pride yourself on?
57. Do you prefer editing as you write, or waiting until it’s finished?
58. What part of the writing process do you enjoy the most? (Brainstorming, outlining, writing, editing, etc)
60. Have you had a writer you admire comment on your fic? What was that like?
62. Thoughts on cliffhangers?
65. Tell us about what you’re most looking forward to writing – in your current project, or a future project
67. Do you prefer prompts and challenges, or completely independent ideas?
68. What, if anything, do you do for inspiration?
70. When asked, are you embarrassed or enthusiastic to tell people that you write?
71. When it comes to more complicated narratives, how do you keep track of outlines, characters, development, timeline, ect.?
72. What order do you write in? front of book to back? chronological? favorite scenes first? something else?
73. What do you think makes your writing stand out from other works?
Okay so I’m not even gonna number these cuz this is a lot 😭.
My creative process is like an on and off switch. Due to ADHD I’ll have an idea for a long time decide to map the story out then procrastinate…for a very long time
TBH I get inspired by other people’s fanart and fanfics.
Now pls don't copy your Auntie Caspian over here but I really just do what ever POV I want to do and feel in the moment if I want to change it I just go back and write it all over again if it's not too late.
If I do receive feed back I feel great! I really enjoy seeing comments and stuff and when I don't I feel fine but kinda overlooked if I'm being honest.
Prep the storyline and lore before anything. If you have all that sorted out you'll be given the liberty to choose what you want in the story or not.
When I have block I just make fanart or make the chapters in my head until I make myself so excited that I want to write again.
Really depends right now I'm doing a DK Fam AU/what if series but IDK what to call it except that (if ya'll have any suggestions pls DM me)
I only have one fic on AO3 so it would be tangled and tts characters lol
One thing that I have noticed( other than always finding a way to add Hispanic/Filipino culture in my fics) is that I tend to be very descriptive about surroundings and how the character feels.
Um I'm fairly new so idk about a lot of genres but all I know right now is that I will never make a story where the main character or any characters that have made it to the end to have a bad ending,if that makes sense. Like I want them to be happy after all the trauma I put them through.
Best advice: to plan things out and to have a draft
Worst advice: that I can't wing it. I do think planning is important but sometimes the best ideas come last minute.
Favorite part of writing: that I can put myself in the characters and what they go through and that I can use it as therapy for myself.
Least favorite: actually writing XD jk but kind of not lol. I also don't like how long editing can be but it's more fun when you can do it with a friend/beta reader yk?
It's long I can tell you that. If I don't have block editing is probably whats taking the longest.
I start with the characters and as I find out who the characters are then I make the plot as I see fit for them and how it can make them stronger and better.
YES ABSOLUTELY!!! I hav this OG story I'm working on and I really want it to be published some day and hopefully that day will be reality!
That I have improved and that I have put a few chapters out.
Depends on what they ask for.
Okay so a small thing I'm doing for my 'What if series' for tts is that I'm making Andrew a good guy and prince of Saporia. and I am also doing a lot of lore for that and giving him an angsty back story.
I'd like to see some Cass and Andrew fanart or some art of the DK cousins which would be Eugene,Cass,Varian and my two OCs Elana and Caspian.
Yah I would re-read fics I haven't because I have a lot to read but I would.
Angsty and wholesome. I wanna try to add a smidge of dark romance but I'm not that good at it so I might practice on that before I publish anything lol.
It's not too long but it can be painful. (if yk yk)
I like them to be honest but not mean when it comes to constructive criticism. and if you have any ideas for the plot or story I honestly would like to hear them out!
YES!!!! I like to respond and see what y'all think. I haven't gotten many but I do like to respond.
How I put a piece of myself in my characters.
It goes back and forth between my OCs and Cass from tts.
How detailed I can be.
I wait until I finish the chapter then I edit.
The lore planning.
She haven't commented ( at least i don't think she has) on a fic but they've helped me brain storm. And it felt nice and cool that I can call her a friend.
If I'm making a second book then yah I like cliffhangers,BUT THEY ARE SO PAINFUL AT THE SAME ASS TIME!!!!
Cass and Andrew scenes,Saporian lore, and Andrew's background. And ofc Erin and Hector moments.
I don't mind prompts.
Look at other people's work.
I'm very enthusiastic, and most of the time others say they can tell lol.
Honestly I don't think I've come across this problem the only thing I have trouble is finding the right words to put the scenes is play.
I write the scenes I'm excited for on paper and then write start to finish on my lap top.
What I think makes me stand out are the characters I create. All of them have either a part of me or have gone through the things I have or are modeled after people in my life.

3, 6, 17, & 29 for the AO3 wrapped ask?
Thank you so much for your ask, anon, which relates to this.
3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?
I've written only one fic this year, and it's ongoing: 'The Wishing Hunt', so it has to be that one. I'm enjoying the test of writing to a structure, with the events influenced by votes, rather than a pre-created outline. It's a chance to prove to myself I can still wing it and discover the story as I go, even though with other work I've written outlines in advance.
If I choose from my finished works (but not this years), I think I'm proudest of 'The Sea Torn Hearts', because I had an extremely clear idea for this fic before I started, which I fell in love with when it sprang into my head, and I felt confident enough to commit to it. I wrote it for a Hunter x Hunter Big Bang, to a word limit and in limited time. That was a challenge for me (it's demanding for many of us who do Big Bangs), and was the first time I'd written something that length to a deadline. As you might know, I'm a slow fic writer compared to many.
6. Favorite title you used:
For this year wrapped, I'd have to choose one of my chapter titles from The Wishing Hunt. I like 'The Orchard Lord' best, because if I didn't already know what it was about, the title would intrigue me. To me it sounds like a fairy tale character or something historical. Who would be a lord of an orchard? In what way would they be a lord? And I enjoyed writing about the actual character therein.
If I look at all my works, then the title 'Kiss Me Better', because it has multiple meanings for that fic :D
17. Your favorite character to write this year?
This year--it's so hard to choose, because I often enjoy the character whose point of view I'm writing in the most at any time. Right now, that's Gon Freecss. But, last month it was Killua Zoldyck. As far as other characters go, though, I really enjoyed writing the flawed character 'Rose', a sly incubus (who was the Lord of the Orchard in the chapter I mentioned above). (Some people asked if he was based on Hisoka, and I can see why, but he's not; he's actually based on myths about incubi and other lore I've absorbed about fae bargains and fae who are territorial or possessive.)
29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?
Because I haven't yet reread anything I've posted this year (I find rereading my own writing difficult) it's hard to pick a favourite line. But, I've pulled out a section I really enjoyed writing - the moment in The Wishing Hunt where Gon learns that Killua, his bodyguard, is fae. It's a dramatic moment, with more than one revelation, and full of consequences going forward. The quote, from Chapter 14, is under the Read More.
A pit opened in Gon’s stomach. “You were born with your magic. It wasn’t some gift they gave you, as a changeling. You must be as powerful as them. Why are you even here with me?”
“Because you hired me as your bodyguard.” Killua tugged his hood back up over his head, concealing his face in its shadows. “I’m sure your witch knew I was fae. She looked after you—you could have hired no one better suited for this job. But I’m not that powerful. My family took much of my magic away. Now, hush. We’ll talk after.”
“No more lies.” Gon flexed his wrist and stared away into the ferns. The hunt thundered overhead, a riot of sparkling motion, yet as he lay under Killua, it felt as distant as the stars. The truth should have been obvious, but he’d believed Killua’s excuses. ‘Culturally, I’m fae.’ It hurt like he’d been sliced open. He’d trusted Killua about his humanity, this most fundamental thing. His rain-spattered cheeks felt like they were steaming. “You must think I’m a fool.”
“You’re not a fool. I’m good at lying, exceptional at illusions.” Killua glanced up the slope. “Shit.” He lowered his face next to Gon’s ear. “I understand if we’re no longer friends. But please don’t move. My brother’s here. This Hunt is after me.”
Thank you so much for asking, Anon. It's very kind of you! I hope you have a wonderful holiday season!

4) What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
With You, I Belong
Mates and Marriage Proposals
The Perceptions of You and I
(baby) maybe that matters more
Breathing You In
5) What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
ughh so, fair warning, I have a lot of works. I definitely do not remember all of them, however I do have four works tagged as Unhappy Ending and then another nine works tagged Ambiguous/Open Ending, which is way more than I’d thought I had!
however, there is one fic that stands out in mind when I think about which of my works has the angstiest ending! Heed the tags :)
And Now?
Teen And Up Audiences | Major Character Death | M/M | Teen Wolf (TV) | Chris Argent/Peter Hale/Stiles Stilinski | Chris Argent, Peter Hale, Stiles Stilinski | Alternate Universe - Soulmates, Canonical Character Death, Peter Hale Dies, Unhappy Ending
Stiles Stilinski finds out who his soul mates are by setting one on fire.
6) What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
ughhhhhhhh I truly do not know???
7) Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written?
I don’t write many crossovers at all! I have some mcu/teen wolf cross overs, I have a teen wolf/glee cross over plotted (that i’ll probably never write), but my strangest is probably this teen wolf/x-men cross over!
what-ifs (don’t fuckin’ matter to no one)
Teen And Up Audiences | No Archive Warnings Apply | M/M | X-Men (Alternate Timeline Movies)Teen Wolf (TV) | Logan (X-Men)/Sheriff Stilinski | Logan (X-Men), Sheriff Stilinski, Stiles Stilinski | Memory Loss, Telepathy, Mentions of War, Implied/Referenced Alcohol Abuse/Alcoholism, Child Neglect, Grief/Mourning, Telepath Stiles Stilinski, Telekinetic Stiles Stilinski, Nightmares, Cuddling & Snuggling
There’s somethin’ there. Somethin’ that has him sleeping curled up on his side with a pillow tucked to his chest, somethin’ that has him splittin’ up his food ‘fore he eats ‘cause he don’t need as much as a baseline. Has him turnin’ to tell someone shit that ain’t there. There’s just...there’s just somethin’ there that’s missin’ and it shouldn’t be missin’.
8) Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
sometimes! I don’t write a lot of smut because I actively dislike writing it, but the smut I do write is super super soft and sappy and full of emotions lol
9) Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I respond to almost all of my comments! comments i won’t respond to: negative comments, unsolicited criticism, comments that aren’t relevant to the fic itself, comments simply asking for more
I love love love responding to comments! I love every single comment that I get and I want to show how much I appreciate getting them, and personally I think responding to comments is the only way to do that! everyone has different comment philosophies, but for me, if someone is taking the time to comment on my fic like I so badly want them to, I think it’s important to respond to show my appreciation!
10) Have you ever received hate on a fic?
aha YEAH I DO. this past weekend I actually got a number of shitty comments and had to file two ao3 abuse reports for harrasment (: I love it
I am no stranger to hate comments. I write copious amounts of age difference fic. I write copious amounts of incest. I am not going to apologize nor am I going to feel bad for enjoying either.
11) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
ughhh I sure as heck hope not!
12) Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! I have a number of them :) I always always do my best to make sure it’s linked to the original fic, AND that I add a tag noting that there’s a translation!
13) Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I have made a few attempts! the only successful attempt is there's nothing i wouldn't do to make you feel my love which is a collaboration with @flightinflame, not quite a co-write!
14) What’s your all-time favorite ship?
I am unable to answer this lol I don’t have an all-time favourite. mutli-shipping forever.
15) What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
god okay this is such a good question! imma ramble about a few so bear with me here! (i may have 700 posted works but I also have a few hundreds wips & ideas floating around in my gdrive, too)
gone & past - this is a starrish wip i’d started in 2017. I ended up deleting it from ao3 to rewrite it and never got there, but I have about 20k of content! I built my home, inside of you - thorki human au with college jock thor and high school dancer loki. i’ve got a start and nothing else Sheriff Stilinski Gets Some Sweet Sweet Lovin’ - massive wip where... well, the sheriff fucks his way through the entire pack. I want to write it but. trans allison au - this is an au where allison is trans and that changes the entire season 1 canon. it features stallison, petopher, and a looooooong ass outline that will never exist beyond my wips You Fill My Heart (With Such a Gentle Love) - this is a stetopher a/b/o au with pregnant omega stiles and alpha pair petopher falling in love. it started as a labour of love to someone I no longer have in my life. I have about 30k, a full outline, but idk. makes me sad to think about it they slipped briskly into an intimacy from which they never recovered - this is my big x-men first class rewrite that I honestly don’t think i’ll ever finish. I have a few thousand words, a full outline, but no love lost for cherik so. doubtful Physiotherapy (I'll Be Your Baby) - this was a fic I was SO excited about, and then it kinda flopped and stayed a wip because I didn’t have a plan or the motivation to finish it. it’s a winterspider human au with amputee bucky and science twink peter that I adore the premise of but who knows breathing you in chapter 2 - I have a massive second chapter planned for this fic but the first did so good so fast I am way too intimidated to write more in case everyone hates it lmao
there are more arjgoirjeg there are so many more but these are the bigger ones I can think of right now!
16) What are your writing strengths?
ughhhhh I hate answering this because I have, like, seriously bad imposter syndrome around my writing BUT I do think i’m able to weave poignant backstory into narration & i write strong, distinctive narrative voices!
17) What are your writing weaknesses?
literally I can’t write settings at all. I don’t know how people vividly describe settings but I absolutely cannot do that and it’s one of the reasons I haven’t delved into original fiction. I need to write the town my characters live in?? fuck that imma just use a location we’ve seen on screen & let readers fill in the blanks lmao
I am also shit at long fic. I don’t have the mind for long and interesting plots, and I don’t have the focus to write long fic (which is why every long fic i’ve ever posted has taken me literal years to complete smh).
18) What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I like it! both as a reader and as a writer. as a writer, I generally only use a few words, or small sentences that can be understood by context, and I generally don’t
19) What was the first fandom you wrote for?
the last thing I wrote and posted was this one:
Languish
Teen And Up Audiences | No Archive Warnings Apply | M/M | X-Men (Original Timeline Movies) | John Allerdyce/Bobby Drake | Bobby Drake, John Allerdyce, X-Men (Team) | Not Canon Compliant, Future Fic, Established Relationship, Summer, Teasing, Fluff
It was a really, really hot Saturday, and most of the school was outback, enjoying the sun, not caring about the heat, and having the time of their life.
Everyone but Bobby, of course, who was melting away.
“I just want to remind everyone that I make ice. I am the Ice Man. I am not built for the heat and soon enough I’m going to melt away into nothing.”
20) What’s your favourite fic you’ve written?
this is another impossible question! I have a few I really enjoy, but I really don’t think I have a favourite that stands out above the rest!
i’m tagging: @4magicandmayhem @insertmeaningfulusername @midrashic @wynnefic @ikeracity @stronglyobsessed @elledelajoie @wolfnprey & anyone else who sees it and wants to do it! seriously! go ahead :)
blank questions below the read more!
1) How many works do you have on AO3?
2) What’s your total AO3 word count?
3) How many fandoms have you written for, and what are they?
4) What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

If you ever finish answering all of yours awaiting asks...
45 questions for you 👀
https://myaekingheart.tumblr.com/post/650107314353897472/fic-writer-ask-game
Lolllll BADLUCKBREBIS, you are so funny.
Inspiration and Reading Asks:
1. How long ago did you start reading fanfiction? Writing fanfiction?
It looks like I started writing in 2017. I've been reflecting recently on how there are so many regularly active writers now compared to in 2017-2018. It was the tail-end of some of my fave writer's activity within fandom. Utsus was posting less and less. The Tumblr NaruHina fandom seemed to disappear, a whole community of writers left for other things (matchaball, nekomamoru, magmawrites, cherryjutsu, spyder-m, tenney-shoes, eliphya, among others). 2018 was a very quiet year, but! I avidly read katarinahime and bunnyhoodlum's works! In 2019, quirrrky restarted things with NaruHina Week!
2. How do you spend your time when it comes to fanfiction? Are you primarily a fic reader, writer, or a perfect 50/50 split of both?
Recently I’m primarily a reader!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Because there's so many writers now!!!!!!!!
3. Are there any fics that inspired you to write what you do?
Yeah, let’s list them.  “A Special Friend” by agitosgirl inspired “Nightdreams.  “Medicine” by @grimmjowkurosakidrake inspired “White Lilies.  “Torch Song” by @mmmbuttery inspired “About You.”  The language in “Unless the World Were to End” by @bunny-hoodlum inspired the language in “That was the plan.”  “In Between Drinks” by @peppercornpress inspired “In Between Drinks NH.”
4. Link your three favorite fics right now.
“Operation: Bring Home Naruto” by Dragonwannabe - Rated T, Canon-Divergent, Multi-chapter, Complete. Hinata's been assigned the mission of getting Naruto back home safely after his last dangerous assignment. But can she handle the undercover identity as his girlfriend that she’d been given without revealing her true feelings for him?
“The Mission” by Lunawraythe - Rated M, Canon-Divergent, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. It wasn't that Hinata never expected to work with Naruto, just never on a mission quite like this.
“The Loving Type” by @peppercornpresses - Rated M, Canon-Divergent, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. A few years have passed since the Fourth Shinobi War, in which...Rookie Nine steadily advances in rank. Naruto gets engaged. Hinata leaves Konoha. And Kakashi schemes for days.
5. What are your fanfic pet peeves? Do they have a huge effect on whether or not you decide to read something?
ahhh.  I do have quite a few pet peeves.  If the fic is Canon-Compliant or Canon-Divergent, I expect Naruto and Hinata to behave like Japanese people.  Say what you want, but the Naruto Universe is definitely Japanese in my book.  So that means no shoes in the house.  Nothing rattles me more than reading Hinata taking her sandals off before climbing into bed.  Like, what?  she was wearing her outdoor shoes indoors this whole time??
mmm... another pet peeve is when the writer describes Hinata in a kimono, but it sounds like an American Halloween costume, like the slutty version, instead of an actual kimono.
mmm... and the other big pet peeve I have is when it’s Hinata’s first time eating ramen because Naruto is showing her the wonders of ramen.  lol.  why.  how.  in what world would a Japanese person make it to their teenage years without ever eating ramen.
I have a bunch of other little pet peeves regarding Japanese culture in fanfics.  But in general, it doesn’t stop me from reading the fic if I'm already in the middle of it.  I’ll continue reading it and will probably recommend it to other people anyway. If I can tell based on the summary, then it's not for me, and I don't read it. If this makes anyone feel nervous about writing fanfiction, that's not my intention! I would also be happy to be a sensitivity reader if necessary.
6. How do you find new fic to read? Where do you primarily read fanfiction?
I primarily read fanfics on AO3 and ffnet.  I find new ones by constantly checking the Hyuuga Hinata/Uzumaki Naruto tag on AO3 or looking into a writer’s favorites list on ffnet.
7. Do you prefer to read short fics or long fics?
Short fics.
8. How often do you reblog/comment on fics that you like?
I reblog pretty often. I don't comment as often as I used to😕 I used to comment on every fic I liked.
9. Tag 3 fic writers you think are underrated/unknown in the fandom/fanfiction community.
Uhh?? Idk. I think recently the writing group here is pretty tight, everyone seems to know everyone.
10. What’s your favorite fandom, pairing, or character to read fic for?
Naruto fandom and NaruHina.
Fanfiction Writing Asks:
11. How do you come up with your fic titles?
I usually take it from words used in the story or from the prompt.
12. Tell the author your favorite fic title of theirs (not the fic, strictly title). Author: what’s your favorite title you’ve come up with and why?
I think...maybe "Tell Me of Forevers" or "Nightdreams." I like those because they aren't taken word-for-word directly from the story, but touch on a theme in the story.
13. Do you outline your fics? How much of a headache would someone get if they just looked at an outline of yours without reading the fic?
Yes, I outline. They wouldn't get a headache, I think. It's usually just a summary.
14. Do you have a personal word minimum that you hold yourself too? Why or why not?
Nope. I didn't know people do that.
15. Tell the author your favorite fic of theirs. What’s your (the author’s) favorite fic you’ve written?
My favorite fic continues to be "It's No Secret."
16. Do you research for your fics? If so, how deep of a rabbit hole have you gone down by accident when researching?
Yes, I do. I've done historical and folktale research for "Little Samurai." I did area/location research for "Last Chance." I did historical research for "About You." I did fairy tale research for "Catskin." I did a ton of astronomy research for "The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl." And I did lighting research for "Inspo." I go pretty deep.
17. How obsessively do you sit and stare at your fic after you’ve just posted and wait for feedback?
I don't. I usually have something else I need to do or I go to bed.
18. Do you have a WIP that you keep telling yourself you’ll eventually get back to, but deep down you know that’s probably a lie?
I actually think I can finish all of mine if I just try.
19. Do you edit your fics after you write them, or do you prefer to just hit post and run (because it’s someone else’s problem now)?
I always edit before posting to AO3. Anything I post directly on Tumblr might not be edited.
20. What’s your favorite part about the fanfiction writing process?
Posting!
21. What’s your least favorite part about the fanfiction writing process?
Starting a new chapter.
22. Do you take fic requests? If so, for what characters and why?
On occasion. If someone sends me a request, I'll think about writing it. Sometimes I do write and post it, sometimes I leave them in my drafts for a better day.
23. What’s your absolute favorite trope to write?
From what I already have posted, probably friends-to-lovers, secret relationship/forbidden love, or high school au. I don't think I have an intentional favorite.
24. What’s a trope that you’d like to never hear about as long as you live, let alone write?
Public humiliation / public degradation.
25. Do you listen to music as you write? If possible, link your writing playlist.
No, not usually.
26. What’s your biggest distraction when writing?
Tumblr feed, all the pictures to scroll through mindlessly.
27. Do you like to give your readers some warning of what might be coming or just slap them in the face with content at random?
lol, whatever is fine.
28. How do you deal with writing pressure (ie: pressure to update, negative comments, deadlines, etc)?
Well, pressure to update is not a big deal to me. I do this for fun, so I don't think I unnecessarily pressure myself too much. With negative comments, I don't get too many of those, and I think I do my best to avoid situations where I might get negative feedback.
29. Have you ever written for an exchange or event of some kind? Which one(s)? Did you enjoy it?
Yeah, I like the events. My favorite was NH2020, the year-long one last year. I also enjoyed the Secret Santa last year since @badluckbrebis was my giftee.
30. Post a snippet from your current WIP without context - no more than 300 words.
haha😈
Ecstasy slides through his veins, blooming over his mind, cocooning him in pleasant sensations, cum shooting out in eager twitches against hot, milking flesh.
31. Of the characters you write for, which is your favorite? Has that choice been swayed at all by your followers/readers’ reactions to certain ones?
Naruto Uzumaki, always.
32. Copy and paste your top three favorite lines/jokes/sentences you’ve ever written. What fics do they come from?
Top 3 faves in order:
That was the plan: "She shifts in his arms, and cloth and cleavage come pillowing up to his face, and he’s certain that she’s scooped from the same puffy stuff his adolescent daydreams were made of."
Tell Me of Forevers: "What he wouldn’t do to inspire every blush, every smile of hers for an eternity when such moments already only speak “forever” to him."
White Lilies: "Whether at his feet, in his eyes, ears, mind, if not reaching his heart, she never landed anywhere. (It’s okay.)"
I consider "White Lilies" to have my technically best writing, so it was kind of hard to choose just one line from that fic! But I decided that one's my favorite line from the whole story.
33. What do you like writing better: one shots or multi-chapter stuff?
One-shots.
34. How much of yourself and your life experiences do you put into your writing? What do you think your readers’ image of you is?
A lot of my life experiences are in my writing. Hmm, I think readers probably think I'm...hmm...either empathetic or really perverted?
35. How much has writing fic changed your life?
I spend a lot less time on real-life social media than before.
36. Are there any fics or fandoms you’re embarrassed to have written or been part of?
I'm kind of embarrassed of "Honeymoon at the Hot Springs" lol. It's fine.
37. Give an update on your current WIP - if you don’t have one, give a sneak peek to a title or idea that you have and would like to write.
My current WIP is that A/B/O fic I started for February Smut Month Prompts: Sweet as Candy or Love Bites. I'm going to title it "Sweet As," and it'll be about how Naruto and Hinata become Alpha/Omega mates. It's really kinky, really smutty, and totally what I would want to read.
38. What does your writing process look like? How chaotic is it on a scale of 1 (very tame) to 10 (you can’t handle this kind of chaos)?
uhh???? a 1?? I've never once thought of my writing process as chaotic. Ahh, then I think of bunnyhoodlum's multiple drafts for the same chapter, and I realize that there exist types of writing processes that I would not be able to handle...
39. What’s something about your writing that you pride yourself on?
My smut.
40. How did you come up with the idea for [x fic]?
41. What’s your most popular fic (with the most notes on tumblr, most hits/kudos on ao3)?
Idk about Tumblr,,, maybe White Lilies got the most attention here. My most popular fic is Nightdreams on AO3.
42. Asker: pick three of the author’s works. Author: rank them 1 (the best) - 3 (the worst) based on whatever criteria you want - this could be something totally random that isn’t quality related (like simply ranking fics based on how many trains appear in them) - have fun!
43. Talk about a positive experience with fanfiction or the fanfiction community that you will always remember.
I will always remember how people congratulated me for finishing White Lilies😭 Also, when peppercornpresses made that FIRST art of my story, I just, I just stared at it all day.
44. Rant about something writing related.
hmmm, I don't feel like ranting about anything. I just recently ranted about my pet peeves above.
45. Fic specific questions - if you have any weird questions about specific works, here’s your shot to ask them!
I did them all! Nice questions.

TMI Tuesday!
Hey guys!
So I’m doing something new with the next chapter of Golden Rings (Chapter 29, Epilogue 1, A Witch.) I’m trying to do a pastiche of another author’s work. Even worse, it’s an author I like and who I think is pretty much a genius. It’s a lot more intimidating to play around with this stuff than my normal method of fanfiction (which is to take the best parts of something that is overall very mixed and then make those best parts the whole thing.)
As with every writing challenge I set my mind to, I’m convinced that I’ll pull together something acceptable. It would just be easier if I knew I’d have enough time and brain-energy between now and my planned posting day. (Right now, posting for the Chapter 29 is set at next Friday, the normal bi-weekly schedule.)
My paying job remains punishing. I was going to say it was “punishingly something” but I couldn’t think of the proper adjective. It isn’t just that the work is hard or tedious or long or confusing or just massively way too much. It’s all of those things, all at once. Punishing is the correct word, no modifier needed. Office workers need a union. My only consolation and hope is that my manager is retiring today. We have a new manager in place, and he says he’s going to do away with a lot of the unnecessary work we have to do. We’ll see.
In the mean time, Belle and Rumple got their happy ending! Or, more accurately, a happy beginning. I read an article recently about how movies nowadays don’t really end like they used to. Modern media is so obsessed with wrapping up loose ends that they start the next movie in the process of finishing the first one. That article got stuck in my craw while I was writing this chapter. Was I doing these characters a disservice by bringing up the fact that they’ll have conflicts to face in the future? But that’s also the point of this chapter. That was why I planned for this chapter to be titled “A Beginning” when I made the outline a year ago. Belle and Rumple are together now. Literally their entire lives are going to play out once this chapter ends. It is okay if I offer some hints about what that future might look like.
And, as always, I have to remind myself that the appeal of fanfic is to be self-indulgent. I am here to write what I want to read. It is important to me to acknowledge that Rumple still has issues with his self-worth, and to establish that Belle is going to be spending more time with her extended family. It’s my story. If the guy that wrote that article about blockbuster movies ever reads it, I hope he can respect my creative choices, or at least send me an ask about it.
And you should too! My ask box is open! Come and talk to me! Ask about Golden Rings, about the characters, about the monster movies I’ve been watching all month.

criminal-minds-fanfiction wrote a bunch of questions for authors that you’re supposed to let people ask you, buuuut I felt like answering all of them instead of doing my actual job this afternoon. 😄 Here we go:
1) How old were you when you first starting writing fanfiction?
Like 25 maybe? I started writing about a year after I started reading it. I had a fanfiction-deprived adolescence, y’all.
2) What fandoms do you write for and do you have a particular favourite if you write for more than one?
The hockey boys pulled me in years ago and they haven’t let me go. I do sometimes write other things: I almost always participate in Yuletide, and I’ve actually written a bunch of Animorphs fic under a different name (ask me if you want to see it!). Mostly hockey RPF, though.
3) Do you prefer writing OC’s or reader inserts? Explain your answer.
Haha neither. Well, I guess OC’s, if I had to choose -- I don’t read or write reader inserts. But I tend to keep OC’s for original fiction.
4) What is your favourite genre to write for?
I was very confused about fic having genres before I realized this was probably referring to the genre of the canon works. Um...sports. :D
5) If you had to choose a favourite out of all of your multi chaptered stories, which would it be and why?
Don’t make me choose my favorite child. Um, probably the first wolfverse story -- I don’t know if it’s the best one, but I’m very grateful to it for starting the ‘verse!
6) If you had to delete one of your stories and never speak of it again, which would it be and why?
None of them, if that’s an option. If I really had to choose...probably the Kirk/Spock fic I never finished even after uploading it to AO3 and promising to finish it this time. I still want to finish it!! But it would be the first to go.
7) When is your preferred time to write?
I don’t have a strong preference. Afternoon/evening. I like having multi-hour blocks, and I use the Forest app to keep me off my phone while I do it.
8) Where do you take your inspiration from?
Plot bunnies come from all over the place: random thoughts, memes, real-life conversations, suggestions from other fandom people. I tend to have a pretty strong “THIS IS A STORY I WANT TO WRITE” response when something grabs me the right way.
9) In your xxx fic, what’s your favourite scene that you wrote?
Haha this is probably why I’m not supposed to just answer all of these in order. XD I’ll answer for my current WIP: the scene where Geno kisses Sid for the first time. So soft. So angsty. 😈 (My own story has cursed me to love Geno. I am doomed.)
10) In your xxx fic, why did you decide to end it like that? Did you have an alternative ending in mind?
In general: I know how my stories are going to end when they start. Sometimes it does evolve a bit as I write. One thing I’d like to play with is including more of the main characters being together at the end of the story, instead of ending it at the moment when they get together; the latter makes sense from a tension perspective, but I’ve been finding when I read lately that I want more of the happy times at the end, so I’m going to try to move in that direction.
11) Have you ever amended a story due to criticisms you’ve received after posting it?
Only for typos, I think.
12) Who is your favourite character to write for? Why?
Ooooh. Either Patrick Kane or Jonathan Toews. There’s something so compelling to me about Patrick’s fanon voice. And every love interest in every original story I try to write is Jonny.
13) Who is your least favourite character to write for? Why?
I...don’t really write about characters I don’t like? I wish Auston Matthews would shave his mustache.
14) How did you come up with the title for the xxx? - You can ask about multiple stories.
About fifty percent of the titles I come up with are desperate scrambles because I’ve got nothing. The other fifty percent I have a perfect song lyric for from the start.
15) If you write OC’s, how do you decide on their names?
I only write OC’s in original fiction, but: I’ve been phonebanking lately, and I’ve been writing down all the good names I come across. The best so far is someone with the last name Quackenboss.
16) How did you come up with the idea for xxx?
MAGIC.
17) Post a line from a WIP that you’re working on.
Oh...oh no. Um.
“It doesn’t matter what he was thinking about. His knot popped; that’s the important thing.”
Some of you can probably guess what that’s about. :)
18) Do you have any abandoned WIP’s? What made you abandon them?
Mostly on my computer. I have a lot of beginnings of stories I haven’t finished yet; many of them I’ll probably go back to. I tend not to post things until I’m done or close to done with them. (That one Star Trek fic being an exception. Mea culpa.)
19) Are there any stories that you’ve written that you’d really love to do a sequel to?
YES. The 1988 timer one and the 1988 story where Patrick’s a girl who sneaks onto the Blackhawks in disguise. I’d love to do a Bennguin version of both of those.
20) Are there any stories that you wished you’d ended differently?
Hm. Some of them I think I rushed a little. More Than I Could Ever Promise, I think it needs a good old-fashioned battle scene in the mountains at the end to really round out the plot.
21) Tell me about another writer(s) who you admire? What is it about them that you admire?
Have I mentioned astolat? What, only two or three hundred times? I should mention her again, then. Give me that woman’s ability to plot. Inject it into my veins.
22) Do you have a story that you look back on and cringe when you reread it?
Haha. I often have slightly cringy moments in my old stories. You Made My Life an Adventure, I definitely didn’t really know what I was doing yet...
23) Do you prefer listening to music when you’re writing or do you need silence?
I usually listen to music.
24) How do you feel about writing smutty scenes?
Turned on.
25) Have you ever cried whilst writing a story?
Yes. The sequel to My Heart Forgets to Beat.
26) Which part of your xxx fic was the hardest to write?
The Sid/Geno wolfverse story I’m working on now is maybe the hardest thing I’ve ever written. The language barrier is such a new challenge for me.
27) Do you make a general outline for your stories or do you just go with the flow?
I don’t formally outline, but I tend to have a sense of the major plot beats. One reason I love writing fic is that the plot and world tend to be straightforward enough for that. I have a lot more trouble doing that with original fiction.
28) What is something you wished you’d known before you started posting fanfiction?
This will radically reduce the amount of time I spend writing original fiction.
29) Do you have a story that you feel doesn’t get as much love as you’d like?
Like You Have a Secret I think is less read than some of the others because it’s het, but I really love it. Similarly, some of my stories that are inspired by other works (Tangled, Doctor Who, The Giver) tend to be read less because people think they need to know the source material, when really I deviate from the source material so much it’s not important.
30) In contrast to 29 is there a story which gets lots of love which you kinda eye roll at?
Huh. Probably not. I’m definitely surprised when some stories take off -- Kinda Narrows It Down I wrote pretty quickly, on a whim, and I was surprised by the extent to which it resonated with people. Turns out lots of people think Tyler was coming out in that tweet. XD
31) Send me a fic recommendation and I’ll post it for my followers to see! (The asker is to send the rec not the answerer)
Ooh. Ignoring the terms of this question, but: I just read this TK/Patty story and loooved it. It’s a different take on werewolves than the one I use in wolfverse, and it’s super compelling:
https://archiveofourown.org/works/24029188
32) Are any of your characters based on real people?
Hahahahahaha. (I mean...less so than you might think.)
33) What’s the biggest compliment you’ve gotten?
I absolutely love it when people write screaming flaily responses to my fic. Also anytime anyone says that they’ve been having a tough time and my story was exactly what they needed. Maybe my favorite was the responses to More Than I Could Ever Promise that told me it read like a novel; that meant a lot to me right then.
34) What’s the harshest criticism you’ve gotten?
Fandom is amazing; people almost never give me concrit. I did have someone ask once if I randomly chose when to stop writing and just ended my stories there. I was pretty offended, since of course that’s not true at all, but I can see where they were coming from: my stories tend to wrap up after the characters get together, and sometimes there’s a lot of potential story left to tell at that point. But stories have to end sometime.
35) Do you share your story ideas with anyone else or do you keep them close to your chest?
I tend to share them! I find other people’s enthusiasm to be strongly motivating, and sometimes people have awesome suggestions I wouldn’t have thought of.
36) Can you give us a spoiler for one of your WIP’s?
Well, I only have the one. XD Sid...is about to have an important conversation with Mario.
37) What’s the funniest story you’ve written?
Ooh, I’m not sure I’m the write person to answer! No idea, really. My recent TK/Patty is probably pretty funny. Or maybe Quality Time, where Patrick doesn’t understand why he keeps losing track of time when he’s cuddling with Jonny. Anything with a super dumb protagonist, probably.
38) If you could collab with any other writer on here, who would it be? (Perhaps this question will inspire some collabs!) If you’re shy, don’t tag the blog, just name it.
Wow, I have no idea. I’ve never really written a story with someone, so I’m not sure how that would work. I want to say astolat again but honestly I’d be too intimidated.
...no, I’m gonna say astolat. Even if I made a fool of myself I think I would learn a ton.
39) Do you prefer first, second or third person?
Third. For some original stuff I like first person, but third feels right for the hockey boys.
40) Do people know you write fanfiction?
My close friends do. Most of my friends have the vague idea I write fic, but they don’t know my username or anything.
41) What’s you favourite minor character you’ve written?
Patrick Sharp. No question.
42) Song fic - What made you decide to use the song xxx for xxx.
I will legit listen to a new album with a doc open to write down promising lyrics. Titles are HARD, y’all.
43) Has anyone ever guessed the plot twist of one of your fics before you posted it?
I think people guessed where the Tangled fic was going. Though I also liked the guesses that it would be about Patrick’s mullet. XD I don’t really mind when people guess twists -- in the kind of story I write, it’s more about the experience of reading it than about surprise!
44) What is the last line you wrote?
“His parents have always been very respectful of any choices Sid’s wanted to make. They haven’t pried into his private life when he’s tried to set boundaries. But they’re wolves, and they know him a lot better than Jordy does. Sid isn’t going to be able to keep it a secret from them what he’s going through.”
...no guarantee it survives in that form. :D
45) What spurs you on during the writing process?
Getting the story out of my head and into reality! Spoon out that lake, baby.
I also do love the prospect of posting it for people to enjoy and respond to. It’s one of the reasons I find fic so much more rewarding than original fiction, where the timeline to a readership is so much longer.
46) I really loved your xxx fic. If you were ever to do a sequel, what do you think might happen in it?
Things, probably.
47) Here’s a fic title - insert a made up title. What would this story be about?
This exercise might be going off the rails a bit. (If anyone does want to pose this to me, feel free!)
48) What’s your favourite trope to write?
Ooh. Mutual pining. Friends to lovers. Werewolves. :D
49) Can you remember the first fic you read? What was it about?
The first fic I ever, ever read was a random Kirk/Spock one I found through google, and I was like “OMG IS THIS WHAT AROUSAL FEELS LIKE”
50) If you could write only angst, fluff or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why?
Oh man. Angst, as long as it can have a happy ending. But it just wouldn’t be the same without the smut.

If you wouldn’t mind making the post about your WIPs that’d be great!
I have about twenty WIPs, no exaggeration. So I'll just focus on the WIPs that I'm actively working on and actually have a chance to see the light of day in 2021!
The Hollyleaf Lives AU is the WIP I currently work the most on, so I'll start here. The working title is Peace (same as the Holly/Mouse one-shot I posted in December) but that will definitely change. I'm doing something different here with outlining so while I don't have X number of chapters outlined, I do have six pages of straight up rambling; three of those pages are a rough timeline of main events that I'm sort of going by, but it's far from complete. I have five prewritten chapters but they're far from publishable; I haven't gone back and retouched any of them. Because I haven't completed my working timeline I'm going to have to go back and add/delete scenes, and do a lot of editing in general. It's hard to give this WIP an ETA because it's going to require so much editing and prewritten chapters, but if I keep writing like I have been, then I don't see why it wouldn't be published sometime in the next six months.
When I'm not working on Peace I'm usually working on Only in Dreams, which is a Windflight/Poppyfrost backstory. I'm using my old writing process with this fic so it's going to require a lot less heavy editing. I have five completed chapters that shouldn't need any retouching ("shouldn't"); I have the ending of chapter six completed but still need to write the beginning/middle; and I have chapter eight (yep, I skipped seven because it's going to lean heavily on eight) mostly written. Chapter eight is already 7K words and it still needs a complete ending and potentially another scene added, so I think I'm going to end up splitting it into two parts. Again, I have less of a chapter outline here and more of a timeline, although that timeline is actually complete so I would estimate this story will be between 24-29 chapters. This fic is very near to my heart because it's inspired by a lot of my personal life, so I'm taking my time with it, making sure that it's something I'll always be proud of. So as for the ETA... it could swap places with Peace, just depending on which story I feel motivated to work on. It changes every week.
I mentioned writing a murder mystery AU literally today, so it's too soon to say whether or not I'll take it seriously. I have a habit of digging through Warriors Wikia trying to scrape together a cast (the fun part), and then loosing interest once that is finished and the writing begins (the hard part). No prewritten chapters or timelines or ETAs here! Just a plot that's based off of an old TV show and a fun premise. We'll see where it leads.
The last unpublished WIP that might see the light of day in 2021 in Shades of Gray (working title, pretty generic). It picks up immediately after Oakheart asks Graypool to nurse Mistykit and Stonekit, and is essentially a Graypool character study as her relationship with Rippleclaw crumbles; she raises her adopted kits while struggling with feeling like she's replaced her dead kits; sheds light on her relationship with her father, Reedfeather; and her budding romance with Oakheart. I do have the first two chapters prewritten and I estimate that the fic won't be longer than 12 chapters, but the length is the only reason I think it might be published this year. It's one of those WIPs that whenever I remember it, I get really excited and want to write, but it's usually overshadowed by Peace/OiD. ETA on this one is simply 2021.
Now, my two seemingly abandoned fics...
If you're here because you're a fan of The Impossible Life of a SkyClan Warrior, then I apologize because I've really put you through the ringer! Believe it or not I actually went into the first draft of this story with a complete chapter outline/timeline! But that version was published five years ago. The story has evolved as I have evolved as a writer, and when I looked back on the chapters I already published, they felt flat. At this point I believe I've revised the published chapters... three times? My mistake is that I did not start from scratch after the first time. Now I'm completely rewriting it instead of simply editing what I already have. Most of the plotlines will remain the same (the big plot changes don't occur until later in the story anyhow, although I will be adjusting Rockshade and Honeyflower's relationship), but the pacing and the setup is all different. I'm still rewriting the first chapter (to be fair, it's much longer now) and working on the new timeline/chapter outline (which won't require a ton of retouching, thankfully). The ETA for this one? Sometime in 2021. I don't have much written now, but I randomly get the urge to revisit it and when I do I will write ten pages in a single day. I usually get that urge whenever I start answering asks about it, so maybe soon? :) I do think it will be posted before Peace/OiD.
Written in the Stars... is a tough one. If you compare its stats to Dawn Frost and TIL then it's not anybody's favorite, but I get the most (very passionate) DMs about it?? I would almost call it a cult classic. Unfortunately for those (very passionate) readers, I tend to focus on the fic that gives me the most reader interaction because reviews are my favorite thing in the world. So when I get twenty DMs begging me to update and then only two reviews on Chapter 12 (I am not exaggerating), I become discouraged. Especially because this is not an easy fic to write. Romance/Humor/Slice-of-Life is decidedly my niche and this fic is the opposite of all of that. It challenges me as a writer which is always a great thing, but the payoff feels very little. This mindset is my fault because I used to prioritize reviews above all else, but old habits die hard. By no means am I complaining about the reviews that I do have (when I first started posting I never thought I would surpass 100 reviews!!), but I want to put my energy into fics that people want to read. Written in the Stars isn't going anywhere, but I can't give you an update ETA.
And that's about it! I have more one-shots coming this year of course, but I don't know which ones will be posted, or when. If you read this entire post then I hope you won't be disappointed by what you see from me in 2021 :)

Inspiration and Reading Asks:
1. How long ago did you start reading fanfiction? Writing fanfiction? Started reading when I was 12, started writing it, when I was 14, so reading, 19 years ago, and writing 17 years ago.
2. How do you spend your time when it comes to fanfiction? Are you primarily a fic reader, writer, or a perfect 50/50 split of both? I’m a 33.3% reader, 33.3% WIP machine, a 33.4% writer, and 100% mess, I usually spend my time doing an absurd amount of WIP that comes out of thin air, like, I can be eating an apple, boom, Bori WIP, a cup of coffee? Boom, Roro WIP, breathing? Boom, Lucaya WIP (that last one happens the most)
3. Are there any fics that inspired you to write what you do? It’s called Unfaithful (EN), it’s on fanfiction.net, and honestly, it’s so well written, that I had nausea 3 times while reading it, the pain was so palpable that I felt ill from it.
4. Link your three favorite fics right now. Right now, and in order 1 - Unfaithful (EN)  2 - Twenty Nights  3 - Perfect
6. How do you find a new fic to read? Where do you primarily read fanfiction? Fanfiction or AO3, and have an excel doc with my favorite ships, then I go to the random number generator, putting 1 as the minimum and maximum the number of the last ship I added to the list, then hit random, and read about that ship, keep things fresh.
7. Do you prefer to read short fics or long fics? Both.
8. How often do you reblog/comment on fics that you like? When they are on Tumblr, a few times.
9. Tag 3 fic writers you think are underrated/unknown in the fandom/fanfiction community. I’m sorry, but I don’t know if they have Tumblr, so, amirmitchell, snowdrifts, and Onde Tu Esteves
10. What’s your favorite fandom, pairing, or character to read fic for? Fandom: Game of Thrones, love all those modern universe AU I have to say. Pairing: Lucaya (Not a surprise) Character: Lucas Friar, Portgas D. Ace, Roronoa Zoro, or Prince Zuko.
Fanfiction Writing Asks:
11. How do you come up with your fic titles? Coffee, food, and usually, Spotify, all that, sometimes, make my brain work into having titles about the things I want to write.
13. Do you outline your fics? How much of a headache would someone get if they just looked at an outline of yours without reading the fic? I do outlines, in 5 stages, so a pretty big one. 1 - I write in my notebook, what I want to write, like a general idea. 2 - Post it on my walls and door, to give the story some structure. 3 - Notebook outline the arch of the story. 4 - Outline every chapter on word. 5 - Reduce that chapter into mini arches to write faster.
14. Do you have a personal word minimum that you hold yourself too? Why or why not? I do (now), I usually don’t post anything that is less than 2900 words, Why? because we must not forget that writers not only write for people in the fandom, they mainly write for themselves, and I love to read something among that word count because that’s long enough to keep me on the hook.
16. Do you research for your fics? If so, how deep of a rabbit hole have you gone down by accident when researching? I do research for my fics, how deep? I can give indications for divorce paperwork in the state of New York, even if you want or not to go scorch the earth with the “fault” rule, I can give an appropriate value to an apartment or a house in New York, Texas, Nashville, and San Francisco, and I can do taxes on those states too, and I know more about how high school classes work in the US than in my country, even when I went to those classes, and I’m from Santiago, Chile, you know, in South America, like, the last country of South America
17. How obsessively do you sit and stare at your fic after you’ve just posted and wait for feedback? I don’t, once I finish writing something, I run away, and watch anime for a few hours, or work (Yeah, sometimes I write on my lunch hour)
18. Do you have a WIP that you keep telling yourself you’ll eventually get back to, but deep down you know that’s probably a lie? I do apologize to “The Games we Play” I have no idea how I outlined your 26 chapters, but I’m still on chapter 2, and I’m sorry.
19. Do you edit your fics after you write them, or do you prefer to just hit post and run (because it’s someone else’s problem now)? Sometimes I do because sometimes, I write things wrong.
20. What’s your favorite part about the fanfiction writing process? That happiness I get when I’m in the Zone, and I write something that makes me say “Fuck, that was good”
21. What’s your least favorite part about the fanfiction writing process? I call it “The Deep White”, also known as writer’s block.
23. What’s your absolute favorite trope to write? I don’t write it anymore, because I was banned from a forum for writing it, but I love to write a bad ending, like “Killing the main character that I make you love for 30 chapters in the end” ending. I’m evil, I know, sue me.
24. What’s a trope that you’d like to never hear about as long as you live, let alone write? The “Good girl trying to change the bad boy,” I hate, apologies, I DESPISE that trope, it’s not cool, first, to be with someone abusive, and second, to try to change someone because you think you’re so almighty that you will change him (or her)  because of love, bs, I SAID BS.
25. Do you listen to music as you write? If possible, link your writing playlist. I do, and of course, it’s named “Writing Shiet” because my brain can only process decent titles for fics (Says the guy who once named a fic “No Title”) Here’s the link
26. What’s your biggest distraction when writing? Anime and Manga.
27. Do you like to give your readers some warning of what might be coming or just slap them in the face with content at random? I don’t usually do it, but when I do it, I do it cryptic, like “You might be surprised, but this, I called in the beginning.”
28. How do you deal with writing pressure (ie: pressure to update, negative comments, deadlines, etc)? I ignore it, If I can ignore good advice, ignore something that gives me more stress it’s an easy cake.
29. Have you ever written for an exchange or event of some kind? Which one(s)? Did you enjoy it? I did but didn’t submit, I wrote for 2019 fictoberfest on Tumblr, but never send a shit, I did enjoy it tho
30. Post a snippet from your current WIP without context - no more than 300 words. "Well, we're still not in Texas," he says, implying something not PG-13 at all. "My God, in what did I turn you?" Maya teases him before getting up and grab his hand, pulling him up. Lucas grins at her, "On," he replies, making Maya flirty hit his chest
31. Of the characters you write for, which is your favorite? Has that choice been swayed at all by your followers/readers’ reactions to certain ones? I love writing Lucas and Maya, and honestly don’t know if it helps me or not LOL.
32. Copy and paste your top three favorite lines/jokes/sentences you’ve ever written. What fics do they come from? 1 - From November to June CH3 A few hours later, Maya heard a knock on her door. She takes a peek through the magic eye on her door and saw Lucas. She grabs her phone and fastly texts him. She was able to hear the 'ding' of his phone, and spying through the magic eye she saw his reaction. "Ok, first of all, I'm not that, second, my mother is not that, and third, I'm not gonna put that there, that's fucking gross, and probably deadly if you consider the size of my hands." he defends himself. 2 - Ten Duel Commandments CH2 Maya smiles at him, "Since you're all Texan cowboy goody-good boy, I imagine you would relate more with the honorable Lord Stark," she teases him. "Says the woman who read three books in a row and texts me at four in the morning," he replies before pulling out his phone, "R+L=J," he teases her, reading her text. "That's private, asshole," Maya recriminates him. 3 - The One Who Stayed CH18 "Then, I have less... GET OFF ME FUCKER!" Maya screamed, punching the person who grabbed her arm, "Holy shit, Lucas." she says, looking at the person she just hit. "Noted, never approach to you by surprise." Lucas says on the floor, "Well, this makes me feel more confident about you being here alone." he says before start laughing.
33. What do you like writing better: one-shots or multi-chapter stuff? Multi-chapter, unless, it’s wedding fics because I love weddings.
34. How much of yourself and your life experiences do you put into your writing? What do you think your readers’ image of you is? None.
35. How much has writing fic changed your life? Not much, but has made me happier.
36. Are there any fics or fandoms you’re embarrassed to have written or been part of? The Glee Project Fandom.
37. Give an update on your current WIP - if you don’t have one, give a sneak peek to a title or idea that you have and would like to write. "Shawn called him, and he assures him that if you try something inappropriate, he has a shotgun," she adds, making Lucas's face go pale. "Well, guess like father, like son," he comments, making Maya show unexpected interest in his words.
38. What does your writing process look like? How chaotic is it on a scale of 1 (very tame) to 10 (you can’t handle this kind of chaos)? As I explained in the outline question, pretty tame if we count that I have my outline process numbered LOL.
39. What’s something about your writing that you pride yourself on? That I try to make it real, I try to make people feel something when they read.
41. What’s your most popular fic (with the most notes on Tumblr, most hits/kudos on ao3)? Tumblr? The One Who Stayed Fanfiction.net? Ten Duel Commandments
44. Rant about something writing-related. Please, let’s stop glorifying the “Bad Boy” character, he’s an asshole, allow me to explain, Bakugo, fucking asshole, he’s just a bully with an oversized ego, no, he’s not a tsundere, no, it’s not cute, that shit is abusive, and it really makes me want to punch people in their nose when the romanticize that bullshit.

Chapter 5- Paradise Lost
I do not own D.C Comics, and I only own my OC and my versions of the plots.
"…28…29…30" I huffed, out of breath with sweat dripping down my forehead. I set the dumbbell back on the holder and grabbed a towel off the shelf next to it. I dabbed at my forehead and the back of my neck and was a little disgusted at how quickly the towel became soaked. I grimaced and quickly threw the towel into the bin that held the dirty ones, grabbed my water, and headed towards the door.
It had been a slow day for the Justice League so I decided to head down to the gym and go through my old routine. I started with running 5 miles on the treadmill, an hour of core exercises, and then another 45 minutes of weights. To be honest, this is less than what I am usually used to, but considering I haven't done an actual workout routine in weeks I didn't want to kill myself within the first two hours.
As I'm heading out the door of the gym into the locker room I noticed a certain resident speedster running on the treadmill. Why would the fastest man alive be running on a treadmill? Who knows. But my curiosity got the best of me and I walked over anyway. "Flash, what exactly are you doing?"
He grinned and started slowing down a bit. "Running. It's like walking but faster." He sassed at me, knowing that I would find that annoying as hell.
"Yes Flash, I know what running is. My question to you was why exactly are you running?"
"Well, uh…you see…" he stammered out, completely stopping his machine and slowing to a stop. It was at this moment that I realized that his treadmill was positioned so that he had a clear view of the weight lifting stations, you know, the place where I just was. I should be able to have some fun with this, I thought to myself.
"Wait, you weren't spying on me, were you?" I asked him in the most innocent voice I could muster. He started getting all flustered and he tried stammering out a response but he was so nervous I don't think he knew what to do with himself. A few minutes of this and I figured that I had had enough fun. "Okay, okay Flash, chill. I'm just messing with you. Next time you want to watch me work out at least come over and spot me." I said. He immediately relaxed and went back to being his usual cocky self.
"I might just take you up on that offer Evie!" Flash said giving his usual smirk. I rolled my eyes and shook my head playfully. Over the months Flash and I had grown pretty close. Not in a romantic way, but he was more of a big brother I never had. He was always protective of me, even though he constantly flirted with me. I thought it was okay, as long as he knew that he had to take what he dished out.
I waved goodbye to Flash and headed towards the showers. I got my outfit out of my locker and went to go turn the water on. Ten minutes later I was drying off and getting dressed when my earpiece went off.
"Evie, you there?" Superman asked.
"Yeah, right here, what's up?" I asked him, immediately starting to get changed. If Superman was calling, I assumed I wouldn't be in the Watchtower much longer.
"Tropical Storm Gardner was just upgraded to a hurricane, it's looking pretty bad out here." He said. I was hopping up and down on one leg trying get my leggings on, hoping that he couldn't hear my struggles. "Could you come down with me and Diana to try and help some people out?"
I finally put on my leggings and was working on my leotard top. "Yeah, give me three minutes and I can meet you guys at the jet."
"Okay, over and out." Superman said and the small beep in my ear told me that he had hung up the call. I raced through putting my clothes on and threw my hair up in a ponytail. There was no point in it trying to look nice, especially when I was about to jump into a hurricane.
Within five minutes I was rushing to the flight deck and had met Diana and Superman in the jet. Due to the terrible weather we had to cut our flight short and literally jump out of the jet. I was practically thrown back off my board from the sheer force of the wind. I steadied myself out and listened to Superman's instructions.
"Evie, you take the south side of the city and Diana and I will take the north. Let us know if you need anything, alright?" He asked trying to stay straight in the air himself.
"Sure Supes, whatever you say." I said. I gave them a two fingered salute and headed south, toward the side of the city that had the most water in it. I headed to the harbor where the water was coming up and over the walls in waves. Nobody could possibly be out there in this weather, they'd have to be an idiot, I thought.
Turns out there is not a short supply of idiots in Metropolis. I almost missed him, but through the sheets of rain I could barely make out the outline of a man. He was wearing a bright yellow rain coat with a matching hat and boots. I would have thought this old man was absolutely adorable…if he wasn't standing on a pier in the middle of a hurricane.
"Umm, sir? What exactly are you doing?" I asked, jumping off my board and walking over to him.
"What does it look like I'm doing?" Well it appears to me like you're trying to meet your maker a little early. "I'm fishing of course. These babies aren't going to catch themselves." He shouted over the wind. "Kids these days…don't understand hard work anymore. All you youngsters do is stare at electronic screens all day." He grumbled loud enough for me to hear him.
I rolled my eyes. "Okay look, I appreciate your love for the outdoors and everything and I'm not sure if you've noticed but we are currently standing in the middle of a hurricane right now! I need you to go find shelter." I said
At this point the man looked around and must have realized exactly how bad the weather really was. He quickly packed away his fishing gear and high tailed it off the pier and went home. I followed behind him to make sure that nothing happened to him, and I left when he walked through his front door.
I continued through the city for another hour or so before I heard form Superman again. "Evie, you still there?" I jumped a little bit at the sudden voice but I quickly recovered and pressed the button to respond.
"Yeah, I'm soaking wet and cold, but I'm still here."
"Good, because Diana left. It's just you and me." He said.
I blinked, making sure I heard him right. "What the hell do you mean 'she left'?"
"She wanted to go back to Themyscira, something about talking to her mom and making things right." He said. I rolled my eyes again.
"Seriously? She couldn't have gone when, oh I don't know, we weren't in the middle of a hurricane?! I understand she's a princess and all but come on, the world doesn't revolve around her." I huffed out, totally exasperated. I was already tired from trying to stay upright in this damn rain, I certainly wasn't in the mood to deal with the princess' problems.
"Don't blame her, she's having a rough time. We should be able to handle the rest of the city, right?" I still don't understand how Supes could be so calm and collected, but I decided that now wasn't the time to call Diana out on her B.S.
"Yeah, we can handle this. I think the worst of the damage is done, and everyone is inside. There shouldn't be too much to do."
After another few hours of flying around the city and keeping people and stray animals out of the rising water, the storm started to let up and we decided to call it a night. I couldn't wait to get back to the Watchtower and take a really hot shower, and go sit in the bottom of my pool and relax for a little bit.
"Oh, by the way, Diana took the jet, so unless I bring down another one you might want to go back to Gotham for the night." Superman said looking at me a little worriedly. Well there goes my plans for the night, along with the last bit of patience for the day.
"Why the hell did she take the jet? Last time I checked Diana was perfectly capable of flying to wherever she needed to go. But no, please, let's not save the jet for the girl who can't go into space without dying! No no, please, take it for yourself." I ranted, throwing my arms up in the air. Was this unprofessional? Sure. Did I care at the moment? Nope.
"Evie, she hasn't been home in 8 months. I'm sure she's homesick and wants to see her mother." Superman calmly tried to explain to me.
"Yeah? I haven't seen my mom in twelve years, but you don't see me leaving anytime soon to try and talk to her." I grumbled out. Now I was in a really bad mood, thinking that my parents and how I couldn't see them. "You know what? Forget it." I said turning away and creating a board. "I'll fly back to Gotham myself, I need to clear my head anyway." Before Superman could say a word, I was already off in the air, not being able to hear anything except my thoughts and the wind rushing past my ears.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
By the time I got home and took a shower I had managed a few hours of sleep before my earpiece went off again. "Evie, wake up." The deep voice of Superman told me. I shot out of bed, his voice startling me a little bit.
I calmed myself a little bit after I realized that nobody was in my room. "Evie!" Superman yelled again. I pressed the button to respond.
"I'm up. What's going on?" I asked him, a little grumpy from my measly three hours of sleep.
"Diana was just seen destroying a museum. I need you to meet us all there."
I started getting my uniform on and ran a brush through the mess that is currently my hair. "Okay, which museum? I can be there in 20 minutes"
"The one in Central City. Meet us on the roof once you get here." He said and with a small click I knew he had hung up. I finished getting ready, grabbed my staff, and headed toward the fire escape. I jumped on a disc and flew off as fast as I could towards Central.
I arrived there and saw that Superman, J'onn, Flash and Diana were all on the roof. I dissipated my disc and landed on the edge of the roof and walked over to them. "Of course I don't trust this Faust. But what else can I do?" Diana said with her arms crossed and a hip jutted out to the side, a classic defensive stance.
"Wow, way to start the party without me." I grumbled finally making it to the middle of the roof where they all were.
"Time is of the essence, I thought you could have been here a bit faster." Diana said to me. Really? Your ass is in trouble and you want to give me attitude? I took a step forward but I caught the look J'onn sent me and decided yelling at her wasn't worth it right now.
"I say we go back and kick that would-be sorcerer's butt." Flash said. I didn't know what sorcerer he was talking about so I stayed quiet.
"No. Men are forbidden from ever setting foot on Themyscira." Diana said quite stubbornly. Okay, what the hell is going on? I asked myself.
'Felix Faust is a sorcerer who broke into Themyscira and turned all of Diana's sisters and her mother into stone. Diana now needs to collect these artifacts and give them to Faust in order to save her mother and sisters.' J'onn spoke in my head. I jumped at first but I understood what he said. I sent J'onn a nod and a grateful smile. At least now I knew what was going on.
"Somebody should've told him that." Flash said.
"Besides, I gave my word that I would find the other relics." Diana said. Boy, for someone who wants help she sure is being stubborn about it.
"Look, the way I see it, a man already stepped foot on the island anyway therefore making the whole 'no men shall enter here' null and void anyway. If you want to save your family without being double crossed by this Faust guy then you just need to accept the help." I told her.
J'onn finally spoke up. "Evie is right, that only leaves us with one course of action. We'll have to help you." Diana smiled after he said this so I guess she finally understood she couldn't do this by herself. Why she didn't understand that when I said anything? Who knows. But thank God for J'onn.
We decided to split up in order to find the lost relics. J'onn and Flash took the jet and went one way and Superman and Diana took the other gem to find the last relic. I was about to go with J'onn and Flash when Superman stopped me.
"Evie, you should stay here, just in case something happens. That way you won't be tied down with the rest of us." I was disappointed at first. I mean, did they not think I could handle this? But with a little more thought I realized that Superman was right. Someone should stay behind in case either team needed an extra person.
I nodded, "Sure, no problem Supes." He gave me a warm smile and the four of them left, leaving me in Central City by myself. I floated up about a hundred feet above the roof and lazily flew myself around the city, waiting for anyone to call.
It was absolutely freezing and I pulled my jacket closer around me. That was really the only problem with controlling ice and water, it always made me colder than usual, which is one of the reasons that I wore the jacket in the first place. I don't know how Diana does it, wearing practically nothing. I would turn blue and shatter into a million ice cubes.
*Beep Beep* I jumped again but it was only my communicator going off. "Evie here." I said.
"Why aren't you with the others?"
"Well hello to you too Bats." I said.
"Are you busy?" He asked.
"No, I'm the back up tonight. I'm not doing anything." I told him, knowing that he was probably going to make me leave the pretty clouds I was floating in and go help with something.
"Good, you can come with me." He said. "Meet me at the university in Gotham." And with that, the man hung up.
I guess I'm going to Gotham now. I started my way over and it took about 20 minutes. I probably could have been there faster, but the weather from the hurricane was still lingering and I found myself trying to fly in heavy rain. And, as if the rain wasn't bad enough, it was lightning and thundering the whole time.
I found the University and landed on the front path that led to the doors. I looked around and didn't see Batman anywhere. "Of course he would be late. The man makes me fly through a thunderstorm and he couldn't be here on time. Typical man behavior." I huffed.
"I'm not late." A voice said behind me. I jumped and whipped around, my staff already in my hand, only to see Batman behind me with a smirk across his face. All the tension drained from my body and my shoulders slumped.
"Jesus Bats," I said putting a hand over my thundering heart. "Are you trying to give me a heart attack?" I practically shouted at him. His smirk only got bigger and he walked past me.
"No, but I figured you deserved that since you didn't like my 'typical man behavior'." He said. I could almost see the air quotes he put in around 'typical man behavior'. Lighting flashed and illuminated the whole area in a purple-blue light.
"Sorry," I said sheepishly. "I'm running on three hours of sleep. It's been a long day." He just nodded in understanding, but he still seemed to be pleased that he had snuck up on me. "What are we doing here anyway?" I asked following behind him.
"We need to talk to a Professor Erlich. He should know something about Faust." He leaned up against a giant pillar and for the first time ever I saw him relax a little bit. "Do you think you could do something about the rain?" Apparently the rain was bothering him more than it was bothering me.
"Oh, yeah sure." I looked up and made the rain form a dome around our heads, shielding us from the incoming rain drops. "I'm sure you're perfectly capable of talking to a professor yourself. What am I doing here?"
"I figured you wouldn't want to be the backup anymore and wanted something to do."
Oh. Well that was oddly nice of him. It kind of made me uneasy. "Oh, well thanks." I said giving him a small smile. He suddenly looked past me and he pushed himself off the pillar.
"He's here, get behind the wall." I was confused for a second, why would he hide if we needed to talk to this guy? Apparently I was too slow because Batman grabbed my arm and pulled me behind him, and my sudden lack of concentration caused my water dome to fall to the ground with a big splash. Thankfully it was raining so hard the professor probably didn't notice it over the sound of the rest of the rain coming down.
This man was a stereotypical professor, from the messy white hair to the red bowtie, but he looked like a nice, sweet old man. He walked under the overhang and I saw his umbrella was inside out, probably due to the crazy blasts of wind, and he was soaked to the bone.
At this point Batman stepped out from the shadows. "Professor Erlich?" He asked. The poor man didn't even turn around to see who was behind him.
"Uh, no conferences without an appointment." He said, reaching for his keys in his pocket. "See my secretary if…ah!" The man didn't get a chance to finish his sentence before lighting flashed and he saw a giant bat shaped shadow behind him. I literally threw the palm of my hand against my forehead. Why did Bats have to be so dramatic? We only needed to ask him some simple questions, not give the man a heart attack.
The professor looked scared out of his mind as he watched Bats glide down to him, with his cape open. How the hell did he even get so high up in the first place? I rolled my eyes again. Batman landed and stood up to his tallest height, with his cape around him. He even looked a little creepy to me, especially with this storm raging on.
"Tell me about Faust." He growled out, in a deeper voice than he even used with me. He kept getting closer and closer to the professor until he was blocked my view by a black cape.
"Well, this is fun." I mumbled to myself. I couldn't hear what they were talking about so I figured there was no point in trying to spy on them anymore. I leaned against the pillar and waited until Batman told me I could leave. After about ten minutes the professor picked up his books and practically ran down the path and towards the street.
I figured that it was safe for me to come out of my hiding spot. "Sorry!" I called out to the professor but he was long gone. I turned to Bats. "Seriously? Why are you trying to give everyone heart attacks tonight? That poor man is so old he could have dropped dead!" I said walking over to the door which was now open.
"People tend to talk when they're scared." Really? That's all I'm getting? I just shook my head.
"Whatever. Did you get the information we needed?"
"Some of it, we need to go up to Faust's office for the rest." He said walking through the doors and into the hall of the building.
I followed him and got all the water off our outfits, made it into a ball, and put it outside. Batman turned his head and gave me a confused look. "What? We already scared the poor man, no need to get everything in the building wet too." I said.
"I didn't scare him that badly." He tried to deny it but one look from me and he seemed to realize just how pissed off I was.
"No more scaring old people." I said. "Now, which room is it?" I asked him looking at the directory.
"Fourth floor." He said and he started walking up the stairs. "I already contacted the others. They should be here soon." We continued walking up the stairs as I looked around at the beautiful marble walls.
"You know, I wanted to go here for college?" I don't know why I was trying small talk with Batman, but I figured he would at least listen. "Yeah, I had already decided what my major would be and everything. But when my parents died, plans changed…" I said trailing off at the end.
"You've never talked about your parents before." He said, surprising me that he would even say anything at all.
"Yeah well, it isn't exactly my favorite subject, you know?" I shrugged.
"Yeah, I do." He said quietly. My brows furrowed but before I could ask him what he meant we had stopped in front of a door. "Here, this is his office." He opened the door and we both walked in.
The room looked like a typical professor's room, with a desk, table and a few bookshelves. It wasn't until I took a closer look that I realized just how weird the room actually was. He had old relics and statues scattered everywhere, some of them were quite scary looking.
Within a few minutes the others had arrived and we were all looking around the room.
"Fascinating. Faust clearly has a great passion for learning." J'onn said.
"Yeah, learning about creepy stuff." I scoffed. I was over standing next to Bats looking at a book.
"Where did he get this stuff? Warlocks-R-Us?" Flash asked us. I turned around to see him holding a weird staff with a glass piece at the top.
"Uh, Flash…" I said but before I could say anything else there was a slight buzzing in the room.
"Don't touch that!" Batman said but he was a bit late. Flash turned towards us and a bolt of light shot out of the staff. Batman ducked, pulling me down with him as the bolt hit the wall and made a nice hole in it, right where our heads just were.
"Oops." Flash said, lowering the staff a little bit.
Batman stormed over and grabbed the staff out of his hands. "Don't touch anything!" He said. I flinched a bit when he grabbed the staff again. Right, let's not handle the magic staff with care, let's keep grabbing it. "We don't know what kind of powers we're dealing with." He said setting the staff back where Flash picked it up from.
I looked around and saw that everyone else had picked something up and were slowly putting it back down, making sure they didn't feel Batman's wrath next.
"So who is this Faust?" Superman asked. We all turned to Batman for his explanation.
"Felix Faust was once a respected professor of archaeology." He said throwing down a picture of a man with dark hair, sharp cheekbones and bright blue eyes standing in front of a wall of Egyptian hieroglyphics. He could have even been considered handsome, that is if he didn't have a crazy look in his eye.
"But when he became fascinated with the mystic arts he was kicked out of the university for his heretical ideas." Bats had moved over so he was standing in front of the window. "He swore revenge on those who mocked him and several later disappeared under mysterious circumstances." Batman had turned around and was staring at something on the wall.
We all followed his gaze and saw three stone masks of human faces, which looked exceptionally life like. My stomach lurched as I realized what happened to the mockers. "I have a pretty good idea what happened to them." Diana said.
I forced myself to look away from the masks and down at my boots. That was sick, how crazy do you have to be to not only turn people to stone, but hang their faces up on your wall where you can look at their terrified expressions all day? Faust was worse than we thought he was.
"EW!" Flash said, cringing a little bit and stepping away from the wall.
"He's mad." Superman added in, reflecting my thoughts of Faust.
"It gets worse." Bats said.
"Oh great, what else could he possibly do?" I muttered.
"I found his journal. The last entries make reference to Tartarus." He finished just as a flash of lighting lit up the room.
"The pit of lost souls." Diana said. I have to admit, I'm not her biggest fan but even I was concerned at just how scared she looked.
"Isn't that just a myth?" Superman asked her.
Diana turned away and glanced up at the vases that lined a bookshelf. "If only it were. Long ago, in ancient times my mother Hippolyta, fell in love with a God, Lord Hades. When war broke out between the Olympian Gods and their ancient foes, the Titans, Hades struck a treasonous bargain with the enemy.
"He would deliver Mount Olympus into the Titans' hands. In return he would be given dominion over all humanity. Hades tricked my mother into opening the gates of Olympus to the invading Titans. There was a battle of which the muses still sing.
"The Gods fought back and eventually prevailed. As punishment for his treachery Zeus cast Hades into the pit of Tartarus where he would rule over the dead for all eternity. And for her unwitting role in Hades' plot, my mother was charged with guarding the gateway to the underworld. To make sure the gate could never be unlocked its only key was broken up and scattered across the globe. Mother told me she kept one of the pieces in the temple, as a daily reminder of her eternal shame."
"Then these relics we've been gathering are parts of the key?" J'onn asked. Superman held up the connected parts of the key we had, but it was taken out of his hands by Flash.
"But why would Faust want it?" He asked, looking down at the key. In a flash, pun totally intended, Batman had grabbed the key out of Flash's hands and set it down on the table.
"Only one reason." Batman said.
"He wants to release Hades from the pit, doesn't he?" I asked out loud. My only response was the clicking of the stones connecting into the rest of the key.
Batman turned around and said, "He intends to use it." I just stood there in shock, not fully being able to wrap my head around the fact that we are now dealing with Gods from Olympus instead of some weird man with an obsession for creepy trinkets.
"Where is this gateway to the underworld?" Superman asked, finally breaking the silence.
"Beneath Themyscira." Diana said. Of course the door that should never be opened under any circumstance would be exactly where we would need to go with the key that unlocks said door. Not like it could have been halfway around the world under a volcano or somewhere else that was practically impossible to get to.
"Diana, you can't give Faust the key." Superman told her.
"If I don't, my mother and sisters will remain petrified forever." She tried arguing but I quickly spoke up.
"Yeah and I'm starting to feel a little sympathetic towards you, but if you give him that key then we are all gonna be turned to dust by Hades. I think there is a bigger picture we need to look at here." I said. The look she gave me probably would have killed me had J'onn not stepped in between us.
"What are you going to do, Diana?" He asked her. I wasn't being sarcastic before, I was a little sympathetic towards her. It's hard to pick between family and the rest of the world, but sometimes the best thing to do isn't the easiest thing.
She kept looking at us with such a defeated expression on her face. I sighed and stepped out from behind J'onn. "Look, we are all willing to help you Diana, you just need to be willing to break a few rules." Everyone looked at me questioningly so I just continued.
"Look I know your people don't like men, but the only way to prevent Faust from getting that key is if we all go and stop him." She looked like she was going to protest but I held up my hand to stop her. "Faust probably won't be expecting you to have anyone else with you. You have him release your mother and sisters, you hand him the key, we all pop out and take the key back from him and haul him off to a nice jail cell." I said shrugging, as if it was the easiest thing in the world.
"That could work," Superman said rubbing his chin. "but we would have to work out some details first." I smiled to myself, feeling like for the first time today I had actually helped out on this case.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
We had gone over the plan a bunch of times and fine-tuned the details, but for the most part it was the plan I had come up with. We all went to the jet and headed towards Themyscira. I decided to pass the time by looking at the clouds going past us and imagining the different shapes they made. It was a game I played as a child and it always soothed me.
Within no time we had landed on Themyscira and were heading towards the main temple. I wanted to look around but I figured time was of the essence and we needed to hurry. "Okay, Diana goes in by herself, Flash covers one side, J'onn and I will cover the other and Batman and Evie will go by themselves. We all know the signal, right?" Superman whispered to us looking around.
"If we didn't know the plan the first two hundred times you asked, I'm sure we won't know it on the two hundred and first time Supes." I said patting his shoulder.
"Alright then, good luck." He said while Flash dashed off to one side of the building and Superman and J'onn went to another part. I looked at Batman and he was already grappling up the building, heading towards a hole in the roof. I followed him up on my board, and we both climbed through the hole and hid on the shoulder of a giant women with an owl on her shoulder.
Sorry Athena, I thought to myself. Batman and I kneeled down and saw Diana rush in the room and confront Faust. We couldn't really hear what they were saying but we saw Faust turn around and hold up a circular object that glowed. After he held it up to a statue of a woman, the 'statue' became a real life woman who collapsed on the ground. Faust had turned around and picked up the key while Diana went to check on her woman, who I assumed was her mother.
Faust turned back around and held up the circular disc to Diana and her mother, but with a blur of red, the disc was out of his hands and into Flash's.
"That's our cue." I whispered. Batman grappled down to the ground, and hit Faust in the face and I hovered down next to him.
"You brought men here? To Themyscira?" Diana's mother asked her. I rolled my eyes and turned around.
"Yeah, be lucky she did or else you would still be a statue." I growled out. I was slowly running out of patience for princesses and gods today.
"Did you really think she'd trust a scum like you?" Batman asked Faust who was currently laying on the ground holding his jaw. Superman and J'onn flew out of their hiding spaces and flanked Batman on either side.
"It's over Faust. Come along quietly." Superman said.
"Never!" he said, throwing a bolt of light from his hands, causing the men to scatter themselves.
"Here we go again." I mumbled. I pulled my staff off my side and extended it to its full height. Faust kept trying to take out different members, but the blast didn't do anything to Superman and Flash was too fast to get hit by the lights.
I guess Faust realized this because just as Flash was heading towards him, Faust broke up pieces of the ground and Flash tripped over them and rolled across the room. I rolled my eyes, for the fastest man on Earth he sure was the clumsiest.
While Faust was watching Flash, J'onn shoved Faust down some stairs, causing him to drop the key. I moved forward and stood next to J'onn. As soon as Faust recovered he threw a bolt at J'onn but it went straight through him. Frustrated, Faust conjured up a bigger ball of energy and through it our way. I dove to the side and sat up, making sure that no one was hurt. It appeared that no one was hurt.
Straight across from me Batman was thrown forward and landed on the ground. I saw a movement next to him and I saw a column about to topple and fall on him. My heart lurched into my throat as I saw that he wouldn't be able to move out of the way in time. I scrambled to get on my feet to try to help him, but thankfully Superman was quick enough to catch the column before it could fall.
I let out the breath I had been holding in, and looked around for Faust. I saw him running towards the doors with the key in his hand. "Oh no you don't." I said. I threw some water at him and created a sheet of ice.
His feet went flying out from under him and he was thrown up in the air by his momentum, but before he landed a wire flew through the air and wrapped around him. I looked back and saw Batman struggling to pull Faust forward. Diana joined the fight and decided to pull out her lasso and help pull Faust.
I looked back at Faust just in time to see a purple light fly up the length of the cords and electrocute both Batman and Diana. They both flew back with a yell and laid on the ground. I ran back towards them and kneeled next to their heads.
"Are you guys alright?" I asked. Before they could answer there was a rumbling coming from the ground and four tentacle looking vines came out of the ground and wrapped themselves around Superman and Flash. "I hate magic." I grumbled.
By this time Bats and Diana were moving so I left them and went to go help the others. Flash had picked up a sword and tried slashing the plants, so I made an ice sword of my own and stood next to him, trying to help.
"Anybody got some weed killer?" He asked, right before a vine wrapped around his waist and hauled him in the air.
"Now isn't the time to be funny, Flash." I called up to him. My yelling cost me, cause the second I looked up at him the vine wrapped around me, causing me to drop my sword and I was hoisted into the air.
Did I mention these vines have thorns? Cause they do. And they hurt. A lot. I tried prying the vine off me but there was no use. I looked around and saw J'onn, Flash, and Superman were all hanging from a vine, all of them being completely useless. I tried conjuring up more ice but I was swinging around so much that I couldn't make a proper form.
Apparently Diana and Bats had joined the fight because I heard Diana call out to her mother and her voice was directly underneath the vine that was holding me up. A little help here? I thought, but she was going to be too distracted by her mother to be any help to us.
I was being thrown around some more and I was starting to feel a little motion sick. Everything was just a colorful blur and it was all moving too fast. Suddenly, the vine holding me up became very brittle and it snapped, sending me falling to the floor.
I hit the ground and I felt all the air leave my lungs. I closed my eyes as I waited for the ringing in my ears to subside and I tried taking in deep breaths. When I opened them a minute later, Batman was standing over me.
"Are you ok?" He asked, looking over my body for injuries. I suddenly became very self-conscious and sat up quickly.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I weakly said. Bats held out his hand and I grabbed it and he pulled me up. "Thanks." I muttered.
Batman looked to the other side of the room where some of the others were gathered. "Faust is gone. And he took the key and Hippolyta."
"Great." I said. We both walked over to the others to see what they were looking at. There was a small crater of dust on the ground, where Faust must have made when he teleported himself out of the building. Bats bent down and rubbed his fingers through the dirt and rubbed them together, as if he could tell what kind of dirt it was just from the sight of it.
"There's only one place they could have gone. Follow me." Diana said quietly and started walking towards one of the walls of the chamber. We all looked at each other and then followed her.
She took a torch off the wall and walked over to a door that blended in with the surrounding walls. She pressed a concrete slab on the wall, and it sunk in, revealing a dark stairway that headed down into the Earth.
Diana went first into the tunnel lighting the way, followed by Batman, Me, Flash, Superman and J'onn.
I looked around at the walls and marveled at the marble designs.
"Woah, what's that smell?" Flash asked. I sniffed a little and realized the stairwell did have a weird smell, almost as if something had been out in the sun for too long.
"Don't ask." Diana said, responding a little too quickly for my liking. If she didn't want to tell us then I wasn't even going to think about what it was.
We went down what seemed to be thousands of stairs until we reached the bottom and it walked to a giant cavern, full of crumbling structures and stones. As we walked closer to the edge of the cliff I saw that an entire city was here, wasted away to rubble and dust.
Suddenly the floor started to shake and there was a large grinding noise, as if two giant rocks were sliding against each other. We headed to where the sounds were coming from and saw that a giant mechanism was opening a very ancient looking door.
"Uh oh." I said. Everyone sprang into action. Superman grabbed Batman and held him as he flew. J'onn grabbed my arm and carried me. I didn't mind and I guess in this case it was a little quicker than flying.
"Hera help us." Diana said. Suddenly the doors opened and a bright yellow light shined through, temporarily blinding me. The light was so bright it was like looking into the sun. I immediately felt he temperature in the room heat up. That probably won't be the best thing for me, I can feel it now.
Suddenly a dark figured stepped out of the light. His silhouette was tall and broad, like he was perfectly muscular. I was hoping he was wearing a helmet, at least I hoped it was a helmet. It had red eyes and two giant horns coming from the top of its head.
We couldn't hear what they were saying, but Faust had kneeled down in respect for his master, and then he gestured to Hippolyta. The man finally took off his mask to reveal quite a handsome face. He had dark hair, the darkest shade of black that I had ever seen. He had a neatly trimmed goatee that accentuated sharp cheekbones and a strong jaw. All in all he looked quite handsome, I can see how Hippolyta could love him.
Hades leaned in and touched Hippolyta's face, squeezing her chin so that she was forced to look at him. Thankfully the little love fest ended when Faust walked over and interrupted them.
By this time we had stopped flying and were hiding behind some pieces of rock, at least all of us except Diana. She flew down and hid behind a pillar close to her mother. Suddenly Hades touched Faust and with a scream he became an ancient looking man. Faust fell to the ground and I looked down in disgust.
"Good Lord." Superman said, apparently feeling just as awed as I was. At this point, Diana must have had enough because she ran from behind her hiding place and grabbed a sword out of a long dead soldier's chest.
She jumped over the column holding her mother and broke her chains, letting her free. Hippolyta slid down and landed on her feet. Hades looked confused for a second, but then he smiled. Not a nice smile either, but one of those 'I'm going to kill you' smiles.
He stepped forward and said something, then he opened his mouth and with a roar he blew a fireball out of his mouth. It hit a column that Diana and her mother ducked behind for cover.
"Are you kidding me? This guy breathes fire now too?!" I asked to no one in particular, but Flash grunted in agreement. Hades stepped through the smoke and flames and he appeared to have grown in size. He was now towering over Diana.
"I wonder if she's as loving as her mother." He said, his voice now echoing off the walls of the cavern. Suddenly Superman flew out and gave an uppercut to Hades, but it only made him stumble back a little bit. Superman went in for another hit but he was met with a backhand that sent him flying and he landed in a pile of rocks.
A whoosh went past my head and headed straight for Hades. It was a batarang, and I knew that it wasn't going to do us a bit of good. Unfortunately I was right, Hades caught it and looked at it curiously. The batarang exploded and when the smoke cleared Hades was walking forward without a scratch on his body.
Batman threw another one but Hades deflected it and it exploded behind him. The rest of us knew it was our turn, so Flash and J'onn raced forward and I followed behind them. Flash raced around Hades trying to throw in a punch, but he didn't feel anything.
Hades must have had enough because he blew a column of fire at Flash. Flash, of course, outran it and said something about breath mints. I don't know, I was too busy to pay attention. I tried freezing his fire, hoping that the cold would stop him. I started freezing the area around him, but Hades barely acknowledged me as he threw up a hand, which caught me in my ribs and sent me flying through the air about twenty feet. I landed on the ground with a thud as the breath was knocked out of me again.
I rolled over onto my stomach and kneeled, trying to force air into my lungs again. I saw Hippolyta had grabbed some weapons and was stalking toward Hades, with a murderous look in her eyes.
"You dare to challenge a God?" Hades yelled out. He threw his hands up and the rocks that he was standing on jutted up into the air. It was silent for a half second, and then something grabbed my ankle. I jumped, effectively loosening the grip on whatever had me and I threw a slice of water at it, cutting off a hand.
"Ew! Ew ew ew ew!" I said, trying to shake the remainder of the hand off my ankle. Then two more arms came out of the ground and grabbed my knees. I immediately swung my staff down and sliced the hand off at the wrist. I flew onto a board and levitated off the ground, enough that nothing that came out of the ground would be able to grab me.
"Is this guy seriously fighting us using dead guys?" I shouted.
Corpses started popping out of the ground, wearing ancient Greek outfits. These bodies were rotted, practically skeletons, with red lights in their eye sockets. I watched as Batman and Flash were both pulled down to the ground.
"Behold, the fate of all heroes." Hades said, standing proudly on his mound with his arms cross. I threw an ice dagger at him, hoping to catch him by surprise. Of course, the God caught my crystal and threw it back at me, with an even deadlier accuracy than what I had. I had seconds to react, so I jumped off my board and fell to the ground.
It was a stupid decision really, because as soon as I landed I was immediately grabbed my rotted hands. I looked up and saw that these things were not only coming out of the ground, but through tunnels in the walls and in different crypts that I hadn't noticed before.
This army of the undead came charging at us and soon I was surrounded by hundreds of them. I ripped my arms from the grips of the ones that were holding me, and tried to fight them off. It worked for the first three zombie things but after that I kept getting more and more overpowered.
I saw Superman fly over me and went to flash. Then I saw Batman using his grapple to get high above the zombies. "Well, I guess it's up to me then." I said, since no one was coming for me. I kicked a zombie so he bent over, then I jumped on his shoulders and as high into the air as I could. I was able to form an ice board under me and I flew to the ceiling, trying to get the feeling of dead people off me.
From the air I was able to freeze whole blocks of these things together, although with the heat the fires were creating, it didn't look like they would stay frozen for too long. But I figured that it would buy me enough time to try and find a way to stop this army.
After I had frozen about five blocks of these soldiers I looked over just in time to see Hades throw another ball of fire at Batman and J'onn. Without thinking I flew over and put up a giant wall of ice. It bought them a few seconds, but it was no use. My wall broke from the impact of the blast. My board melted as well, so I stumbled on the ground but I kept running.
A few seconds later the impact of the blast caught up with us and we were thrown through the air. When I hit the ground I flipped over and must have hit my head on something because when I landed next to Batman I saw stars dance in front of my eyes. I laid there for a minute, trying to get my bearings straight.
I heard Hades laughing in the background, but I couldn't make out what he said after that. Everything in my head was spinning and ringing, I couldn't even open my eyes. I felt a hand on my shoulder and on instinct I flipped over, grabbing the hand about to throw it off me.
"Evie!" Batman shouted at me. He must have been talking to me for a while, but due to the ringing I couldn't hear him. After another moment the ringing in my ears had finally stopped and I could hear him now. "Are you okay?" He asked, looking at my head.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I just hit my head." I said. "That's the second time you've helped me up today." I said.
"Don't make it three." He said. He helped me stand up and we looked at Hades, who was encased in a blue light. The blue light vanished, but in its place stood Hades, but he looked even worse than before. Now he had a cat-like face with horns coming out of his head and three tongues sticking out of his mouth like three snakes.
"Man, today just sucks." I said. Batman just looked at me and pulled me over to the side.
"Stay here." He said and he tried walking away. Stay here? I don't think so.
I reached forward and grabbed his arm. "And why the hell am I staying here?"
"You're hurt." He said. Apparently he thought that explained everything.
"Everyone is getting hurt Bats. I'm not sitting out just cause I hit my head." I said. He tried giving me his famous bat glare, but I glared at him right back. Another rumble shook the place as Diana was thrown into a column and slammed to the ground. Ouch.
"Fine, but you stay with me. Understand?" He growled. I nodded and let go of his arm, which I was still holding onto. Oops.
Bats turned around and began to run, dodging in and out of the shadows, trying to stay out of sight. I don't understand how he does that all the time but that is really hard! We were moving closer to where Diana, Hippolyta, and Hades were.
Suddenly Diana flew over to the opening of the door and landed in front of the key. Hippolyta was thrown down by Hades and he kneeled over her, pinning her arms above her head. What did she even see in this guy anyway?
"Diana, destroy the key!" Hippolyta yelled out to her. Hades knocked Hippolyta out, got up and ran over to Diana, who was struggling with the key. Just before he got there, Diana had lifted the key up over her head and turned around to face him.
"No!" Hades yelled out reaching for Diana.
"Back to the pit, you monster." She yelled, throwing the key down and it shattered into pieces. A bright golden light flew up from the broken key and into the doorway of the underworld. A spiral was formed and it started sucking everything into it.
Hades was trying to scratch and claw at the ground, anything to avoid being sucked into the pit. I dug my feet into the ground but I was still slowly being sucked in. I looked over at Batman and saw that he was trying to hold onto the pillar we were in front of.
The suction was increasing with each second. I looked back and saw that Bats was struggling just as much as I was. Suddenly his feet slipped out from under him and he went flying towards the opening.
"No!" I yelled out, letting go to the post I was holding onto and I was being sucked with him. The doorway was approaching faster and faster and I wanted to close my eyes. The heat coming from the doors was incredible. If hell doesn't kill me, the heat will, I thought, knowing that it was probably going to be my last thought on this earth.
Suddenly a hand grabbed my waist and I felt myself being pulled away from the force of the wind. I looked up and yet again, Batman had come to save the day. The man had somehow been able to shoot a grapple, have it wrap around a column, grabbed me, and was now holding on for dear life so we both weren't sucked down into an eternal pit of fire.
"What were you thinking, letting go?" He shouted at me. I rolled my eyes. Even in the face of being sent to hell he would still have something to be angry over.
"You told me to stay with you, so I did." I yelled back, grinning cause I knew he would probably get pissed off at that answer. Suddenly the wind died down to a stop and Bats and I land on our feet. I looked over at him he had a small smirk on his face.
Something deep inside of me hoped he was smiling at what I said, but the more reasonable side of me said he was just happy to be alive.
We looked over at the door and saw all the gears shifting back and locking themselves. Diana and Hippolyta were kneeling in a pile in front of the door, trying to catch their breaths.
I looked around the room at the damage that had been done, and thought about the fact that a Greek God was almost released and wanted to destroy humanity. "I don't know about you guys, but I think I'm gonna need a lot of alcohol tonight." I said. Flash started chuckling, then J'onn, then Supes. Of course, Batman was too cool to laugh, but I swore he nodded his head in agreement.
After a few minutes, all of us headed back up the stairs that led us out of the cavern. Well, I didn't walk. I had persuaded Flash to give me a piggy back ride all the way up. It was nice, not having to walk up a bazillion stairs.
We go up to the entrance to see that all of Diana's sisters were still stone. The magic hadn't been revered and Faust was long gone. Hippolyta buried her face in her hands. Poor woman, she had been through so much in the past day, I would have been a hysterical mess by now.
"Is there nothing we can do for them?" J'onnn asked.
"I still have this snake-headed doohickey." Flash said, pulling the medusa medallion out of his pocket.
"But only Faust knew the spells. Without him…" J'onn said, but he stopped when the sun rose and hit the medallion. It started glowing and flashing and it must have become hot because Flash dropped it, yelling ow.
The medallion continued to glow until it was so bright I had to shield my eyes. When I opened them, the previous stone figures turned into woman.
"But how?" Flash asked.
"Faust's enchantment could only last as long as he willed it." Batman said.
"So now that he's gone, the spell is broken." Diana said, looking around at all of her sisters. I looked back at Flash and I thought his jaw was going to hit the floor. All these beautiful woman and he was right in the middle of them. It must have been a dream come true.
"It's a miracle." Diana said, hugging her mother.
"Athena be praised." Hippolyta said looking around at her island. I, personally, was glad that her sisters were okay and everything but at that point in time I really just wanted to get home. My three hours of sleep was catching up to me and my head had started to throb again.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
We were getting ready to leave the island when Hippolyta decided to have a ceremony for us on the beach. We were in the middle of the ceremony when my eyelids were growing heavy and I was having a hard time staying awake.
"And for your brave assistance against the sorcerer, Faust, and the mad God, Hades, you have earned our eternal gratitude." Hippolyta said. She was sitting on her throne and she looked exactly like a queen should have looked.
"Did you hear that? Eternal gratitude. After she hands out the medals how about you and me taking a private tour of paradise?" Flash said to the Amazonian guard standing next to him. I reached over and slapped his chest lightly.
"Stop flirting with the Amazons." I mumbled.
"She wants me." Flash said.
"Yeah, sure." I said, just as J'onn said "Indeed."
"Before you leave please accept these royal offerings." Hippolyta said, ending whatever Flash was going to say next. Diana and some other Amazonians stepped forward and gave us golden wreaths to wear around our heads. I held mine, not wanting to put it on. Knowing my luck I would break it.
"You are all truly heroes." Hippolyta told us. Well, that's nice to be acknowledge for your work every once in a while.
"Thank you, Your Majesty." Superman said, bowing respectfully as he spoke. I leaned my head on J'onn's shoulder. This whole thing was taking too long.
"Diana, Princess of Themyscira, stand forth." The queen said to her daughter. Diana stood in front of her and bowed her head respectfully. "As your mother I am overjoyed that you have finally returned to us." Uh oh, there sounds like there is a giant 'but' coming here. I stood up straighter, waiting for what she was going to say.
"But as your queen I am obliged to uphold the laws of Themyscira. And in bringing these outsiders to our island you have broken our most sacred law. This cannot be overlooked." She said, looking sternly at her daughter, but behind the cold mask I could see that this was killing her to say it just as much as it was hurting Diana to hear it.
"But, mother…" Diana tried protesting but Hippolyta stopped her by holding up her hand.
"Diana, I have no choice. It is with a heavy heart that I must exile you… from Themyscira" She said while standing up from her throne.
I shook my head and looked down at my boots. This was totally unfair. Flash stepped forward, and I tried to grab his arm to pull me back but I couldn't grab him quick enough.
"You can't do that! She risked her butt to save all of you." He said pointing up at the Queen. "She…Hey!" Four different spears were pointed at him and he quieted down.
"Please, she did this because she loves you." Superman tried pleading with the queen. "You can't punish her for that."
"No, mother's right." Diana said quietly. "I did break the law and I humbly accept your judgment." She looked up at her mother for the last time. "The fates were against us mother." She said, her eyes filling with tears. "Goodbye." She said, turning away towards the jet.
The look in Hippolyta eyes broke my heart. She looked like she wanted to take it all back and run down and hug her daughter, but her duties as a queen came first.
"Present arms!" One of the guards called out. The warriors lined up and held their spears out, their way of saluting Diana, and saying goodbye.
"That's it? You're just gonna walk away?" Flash yelled again.
"Flash, stop it." I whispered, grabbing his arm but he just shrugged me off.
"This is so bogus." Flash said turning to Hippolyta. Suddenly an arm reached past me and grabbed Flash's arm.
"Don't make this harder than it already is." Batman said to him. We all walked back to the jet, but Diana stopped at the bottom of the ramp. She stayed quite still for a minute, then with her head held high, she walked into the jet and didn't look back.
I walked on after Bats did, and I found my seat. I buckled myself in and leaned my head against the window. I felt the stress from the day fall onto my shoulders, exhausting me even more. Diana will see her again, their bond is too strong to be broken, was the last thought I had before I fell asleep.

The Open Line - Ch 29, Roses
Read Chapter 1 Read Chapter 28
Night fell steadily over the Notre Dame cathedral and the two superheroes perched on the bell tower. The rising moon was the only indication of passing time, but the whole night could have passed and Ladybug wouldn't have cared.
Dinner had been delicious. Cat Noir swore he didn't cook any of it himself, so it was safe for human consumption. The admission had made her laugh, and the expression on his face when she offered to bring him a homemade dinner to their next patrol had made her kiss him again. Happy and shy and hesitant, so unlike the loud reveling she'd been expecting.
They sat side-by-side at the table, at her insistence. It was cramped, and their arms brushed together as they ate, but it felt nice to be so close to him. Besides, sitting like this made it much easier to sneak kisses onto his cheek when he wasn't expecting it. He still shook a little every time she did it. Like he was never expecting it, or maybe that he couldn't quite believe this was real. It was a reaction she planned on curing him of as soon as possible.
Nearly an hour later, she was sopping up the last of the sauce with her bread, taking her time swirling it around the edges of the plate. Taking her time, because she didn't want to leave him, didn't want the night to end so quickly.
"Dinner's taking a lot longer to finish than I thought it would." Cat Noir looked down at their nearly empty plates, a little confused.
Ladybug smiled knowingly. "Hmm," she said said, drawing out the sound to pull his attention back to her. "I think I know why your calculations were so off."
"Really?" He turned, and their faces were only inches apart. "Why is-"
Ladybug cut him off with a kiss. "Too many of these," she said, before giving him a second. And then a third.
Cat Noir responded slowly, stiff under her touch. She'd surprised him again, but he recovered quickly, his shoulders dropping as he sighed against her mouth. His hands found her waist, sliding her to the edge of her chair, like he couldn't get close enough to her, even while kissing her.
He was the one who pulled away first, nuzzling his nose into her cheek. "I'll never have too many of these." His breath tickled. "But we have to get going. We're going to be late!"
"Late?" she asked, excitement bubbling. "You mean there's more?"
Chairs scraped and the tablecloth rustled as Cat Noir helped Ladybug to her feet. "Oh, come on," he said as he guided her to the edge of the tower. Lights sparkled below them. "You know how over-the-top I am, especially when I'm trying to impress you." And he flipped over the edge, spinning in midair until he landed on the wooden spine of the roof 100 feet below. Like the show-off he was.
Ladybug chuckled before following.
"See? I told you I was faster than you," Cat Noir said two minutes later. They landed in front of the marble steps of the Palais de la Découverte, the Palace of Discovery science museum. White stone columns and black bronze horse statues stared down at the new couple.
"You are not," Ladybug said. "You beat me here because I didn't know where we were going."
"And that's somehow my fault?"
Ladybug shoved his shoulder, not finding that comment worthy of a response. Everything she had loved and missed about their relationship was back in full force, the banter, the friendship, the trust. Really, it wasn't much different now than it had been before. There were just new types of touching, and a happier Cat Noir.
Together they walked up the front steps, and a cold gust of wind made her shiver and pull closer to him.
"So does the second half of this date include breaking and entering?" she asked. The glass double doors were shut tight. All the lights beyond were dark. "Because I think this place is closed."
"It is closed," he said, reaching into his pocket. "But I've made a special request." The key jangled on its ring as he held it out for her to examine. "Being an- I mean, being me has some benefits."
The way he said it, the way he scuttled off to unlock the door, eyes averted... Ladybug wasn't sure if he'd meant his superhero or civilian self.
She walked up slowly behind him – then watched with delight as he fumbled the key when she put her hand on the small of his back – before he swung the door open for her.
"After you." He slipped from underneath her fingers as he pulled away and bowed for her to enter. Strange. Had he been keeping his distance all night? Considering how she'd been hanging off him all night, she'd expected... But maybe she was just imagining it.
She reached out and brushed her hand over his chest as she past him, but was quickly distracted.
Her footsteps seemed louder than normal as she stepped through the door and the outside world hushed. Whispers of their conversation echoed through the enormous atrium. "I have no idea where we're going," Ladybug said. "You still want me to lead the way?"
"Only if I can follow you to heaven."
"Uh..." Ladybug was grateful it was so dark. Another difference in their dynamic: How easily she blushed at his flirts.
Cat Noir waved for her to follow and walked deeper into the empty building. She let him get about three steps before she caught up and looped her arm through his. They passed paintings and statues, whispering to each other until they arrived at another set of doors that opened on what looked like a small auditorium, minus the stage. Seats ringed around a circle of space in the center of the room, which was empty except for a desk with a computer and some other electronics on it. They walked down to the front row, where he motioned for her to sit down.
With a few sharp taps of his claws, the computer turned on and started to hum. "I believe I once promised you the stars, My Lady."
Lights sparkled above her, and the seats leaned back easily to let her see the night sky – filled with more stars than she'd ever seen – glowing on the ceiling. The chair next to her squeaked as her partner sat down and started giving her the grand tour. Galaxies swirled. Planets flashed by. He knew so much.
And Ladybug's fingers felt so lonely. Expecting him to take her hand at the first opportunity, she'd left it on her armrest for him. But in the dim light, she could see his hands tucked neatly on his lap. Come to think of it, he hadn't touched her first all night except to help her to her feet after dinner. In the darkness, her concerns resurfaced. She'd kind of expected him to be all over her, all hands and lips and soft whispers.
His voice wavered a little as she reached over and slid her hand into his, but he kept up with his explanation of star clusters and stellar nurseries as he laced their fingers. The speech was only paused when he raised her hand to his mouth and kissed her fingertips, one by one.
Ladybug loved listening to him. He was attentive and understanding of her questions, though in her completely unbiased opinion the armrests detracted from the presentation. They were downright obnoxious, getting in her way and creating a barrier between them like that. She had half a mind to climb into his lap, she started to get up, but then the stars above dimmed to faint pinpricks and the house lights come back on.
"So, what did you think?" he asked. He turned her hand over in his, tracing the large dot in the center of her palm.
She thought a lot of things. That she wished she'd realized earlier how wonderful her partner was. And how time was really unfair, speeding up like this when she wanted to be with him longer. When she didn't answer his question right away, his ears flattened and his fingers stilled.
"I think," she quickly said, "that I'm not quite ready to go home yet." This time, she did lead him, just to the center of the room, where there was a small space between the first row of chairs and the computer. The hum of electronics and her own heartbeat were the only music, but she put her free hand on his shoulder and guided him into a slow dance under the starlight sky.
Instead of the bright smile she expected at their closeness, Cat Noir seemed distant and maybe a little sad. His steps were slow. He tried to hold her at arm's length, and she had to keep stepping closer. What on earth was bothering him?
"You really went all out for me, didn't you?" she asked, when she couldn't stand his silence anymore.
"Was it too much?" he asked, sounding nervous. His wide eyes blinked rapidly. "Sorry. I've never been on a real date before."
Before she could formulate a witty response about his lack of experience, he took another step back, like he wasn't sure if he was allowed to stand this close to a girl while on a date.
Okay, that was it. Ladybug was done feeling like she was chasing him across the room instead of dancing with him. Tightening her grip on him, she pulled him in, until she could comfortably rest her head on his shoulder.
That finally seemed to be enough permission for him. The hand on her waist lightened, until only one finger remained. He pulled it up, outlining her curve from her waist up her side and sliding back down again. She shivered when his fingers brushed her hip and melted into him a little further, before his palm flattened against her body once more.
"No, it's not too much," she whispered. "You just did all this work while thinking I wasn't coming."
"But I hoped," he said. "Just like I've always done."
***
It was another hour before the duo made their way back through the dark corridors of the museum. Their footsteps echoed on the tiles, and Ladybug watched Cat Noir out of the corner of her eye. He was smiling, but it was small, and aimed at the floor instead of at her.
Now was the perfect opportunity to ask him what was wrong, but before she could figure out how best to frame her concern, he stopped at the front door and turned to her. The only light was from streetlamps and headlights that filtered through the glass. The shadows it cast were soft, blurring the edges of his mask, though it couldn't hide how his expression went from pleased to hesitant.
"I have something else for you," he said. "I promise it's not over-the-top this time."
Ladybug waited expectantly as he ducked behind a pillar and pulled out an enormous bouquet of roses, pink and red, her favorites. It overflowed in her hands as she pulled them into to smell them. There must have been three dozen. Her hands barely fit around them stems.
This was his idea of a reasonable gift? Not that she minded – she was flattered – but it did raise some questions.
She smiled and thanked him as he led them outside and locked the door behind them. The crescent moon was soaring above the city now.
"I hate to say it," he said, "but it's probably time to go."
"We've stayed out later before." She rubbed a rose petal in between her fingers. "And I don't really want to leave." She doubted he did either.
Cat Noir cleared his throat. "Then maybe we-" He took his guiding hand off her elbow. There it was again. The distance that she hadn't expected, that she'd been fighting so hard against all night.
"Never mind," he said. "I'll let you make up your mind before asking again."
"Make up my mind about what?"
He looked confused. "Don't you remember? I promised I wouldn't bother you for a second date until after you'd made your choice."
Ladybug's mouth fell open. "Are you serious? This is what's been bothering you?" She hadn't intended it to come out as a shriek, but the way his cat ears flattened, she thought she might need to turn the volume down a little. "How many times have I kissed you tonight?"
"Thirty-eight."
His tone was so matter-of-fact that Ladybug paused. "You... you counted."
The ears pressed further against his hair. "Is that weird?"
Carefully passing her bouquet to one hand to get it out of her way, she shook her head and closed the space between them. "Thirty-nine." And she kissed him. This one was slower than the others had been, lingering, as she poured everything she felt into it.
Honestly, how could this boy not have realized what he meant to her? He needed to know.
"Forty," she whispered, letting her free hand wander up his arm and ghost over his cheek as she kissed him again. "Forty-one." And again.
When they broke apart, he didn't step away this time. He was solid and there, and she thought he finally understood, with his hands firmly around her waist, his lips resting against her forehead. But she had to make sure.
"If it isn't clear," she said. "I'm picking you. I've already picked you."
The grip around her tightened. "Then can we please, maybe, do this again sometime?" The vibrations of his voice rumbled through her. "Because I have about a million other ideas I want to spoil you with."
"I'd love to."
"Yeah?" There was the smile she'd been waiting for all night. Brilliant and glowing, blinding her to everything that wasn't him (while still managing to squeeze in that adorable goofiness she'd always loved).
"Yeah," she said. "But there is one thing I need to ask you."
"Anything."
A car whizzed by. People across the street walked slowly, watching them. A window light flicked on in the next building. And Ladybug felt suddenly too exposed and nervous to keep going.
"But not here," she said. "Follow me."

NOTES: Witches, Chapter 29
Haven’t done one of these in a while! I mean I haven’t posted a chapter in a while, either, but it’s been even longer since I’ve written up some notes on it.
Obviously, spoilers for Chapter 29.
So! First things first, I did tell you that Trucy is cursed. Go check Ch 7 of Seelie. Or take this excerpt:
“What are you giving her?” Phoenix asks quietly. “Let her go without the Sight.” His job is to find the truth – he knows that now – but should an eight-year-old be burdened with it? She has had all of her family disappear away from her – she shouldn’t have to See, and thus worry about, Phoenix and the curse of death branded around him like a noose. Sometimes he wishes he didn’t know about it. “I was going to let her,” Maya says. When her voice drops low in a whisper it sounds more like the hiss of a snake. Dahlia’s was the same. “She has the burden of truth already. I’m gifting her luck. She’ll need it.” He focuses on the two of them again in time to see the lights that circle Trucy’s head like a crown, down past her marked eyes and settling around her neck, more purple than green now. Maya doesn’t lift her claws from Trucy’s hair but smooths down a few flyaway strands. “If she spends long enough around here,” she says, “Sis’ blessing might start to attach to her. Follow her outside.” “Keep her alive,” Phoenix murmurs. Maya casts a sad look at him – at least he thinks it’s sad. It’s harder to understand the look in her eyes when he’s properly Seeing her, that red without pupils, the four of them that don’t ever blink. “It’s barely a proper curse on her,” she says. “Not like the one on you– she knew how to cast one.”
Second, I know people have had questions about the exact mechanics of curses before - one specific example, if Magnifi cursed Jove, then is it Magnifi who killed him? What’s Ga’ran’s responsibility? How’s she involved?
This is not an answer to the question of the mechanics of curses, exactly. It’s inevitably squidgey. Some of the bits and bobs of this series have just been me explaining weird little game things with fae - why’s it snowing in LA? Because it was originally Japan, or because the Winter Court did that shit. Why, holy fuck why, do our protagonists just stumble across so many murders when they go places? The first game wasn’t actually bad about that, they got Will Powers’ case in a normal way, and then the second game has Big Top (where okay, the murder is a few days after they’re there) and Farewell, and the third has Stolen - this leaving out the ones that Morgan orchestrated, or Mia’s death, where of course they’re there. Phoenix and Maya can’t go fucking anywhere in the games. Apollo and Trucy sure as shit can’t either.
Curses began as my explanation for that, and as they’ve evolved, there’s still not quite a way to disentangle it from it being weird, frequent coincidence. Jove just happens to go to the palace the night that Ga’ran sets her plans in motion. Courte just happens to find out about the bribery and confront Means the night before Phoenix and Klavier are going to be at the academy. So on, and on. These people are lawyers but there’s still no fucking reason that they should keep stumbling directly into cases instead of having clients come to them. What the fuck, guys.
But it’s only natural that just as much as you as readers have questions to how curses work, the characters would also be trying to figure it out. And Phoenix has a lot of time to try and figure this out, and what to do about it.
Which goes to the third point. I’ve had the dialogue between Apollo and Phoenix scripted since March of last year. It’s a very important conversation, and a very heavy one, and I wanted to make sure I got it right and handled as tactfully as I can.
Phoenix’s issue with his curse is something that’s been in the series since, again Ch 7 of Seelie. Excerpt if you didn’t reread the whole chapter when I sent you there when I linked it before.
Witches’ powers fade but blessings and curses both linger, and there is a yoke around Phoenix’s neck made of two dead fae women and their battle. And he might have survived it, but when Gumshoe asks how Phoenix is always stumbling into and getting caught up in murder cases, and Phoenix says it’s coincidence – he’s lying. He knows he’s lying, but he doesn’t know if he is cursed to follow death or death follows him. Does it matter? People still die, and Phoenix is there. Phoenix is the common denominator. (Phoenix spent a year sure that he was the final push leading to the death of one of the only few people he’s allowed himself to love.)
Like, Phoenix is canonically depressed going into Rise from the Ashes, and that’s before Edgeworth’s supposed death. Add in Fae AU Phoenix’s curse, and how he’s been grappling with that in a different, painful way since Mia’s death, he just - does not have a coping mechanism to deal with that. Maya’s gone, and she’s fae and he doesn’t know if she’s ever coming back, or if he’s supposed to want her to come back; Edgeworth disappears with a note saying that he’s chosen death; Phoenix’s last two closest friends are a teenage girl who’s gone off to finish high school in Europe, and Larry. They are not good emotional support, but they’re still two people Phoenix cares enough about to be afraid that something will happen to them - to want to protect them from him and this curse. And it seemed unfortunately, painfully likely to me that someone in such a desperate state of mind would consider the worst (only?) possible way to escape a curse of death.
I’m not sure all of that needs to be spelled out (though it’s been a long long time since the beginning of Seelie) but I wanted to outline my thoughts and how I followed it through. I hope it doesn’t seem like I was throwing in this mention of Phoenix’s past suicidal ideation just for… some cheap attempt at depth or dramatics. That’s mostly been my concern with this chapter. And I don’t know if this moment actually stuck out at you as actually seeming any different than the other times I’ve explored and deepened and filled in more of characters’ emotional history and traumas as affected by the addition of fae, like everything with Klavier. But this moment with Phoenix did feel different to me personally than other moments as I was writing it, so I just wanted to address it.
Again, please do let me know if you’ve got concerns about this or anything else, going forward.
That’s it for now. See you next chapter, which I hope will be a shorter time than the gap between Chapters 28 and 29.

i’m not popular enough to get tons of asks, but I pushing off zine work and secret santa so fanfic writer asks! (YGO only)
1. What’s your favorite character(s) to write for?
Answered here
2. What character(s) do you find the most difficult to write for? Why?
Characters that don’t get much of a reaction from me from the beginning or at any point, and characters I have never considered writing before (like Bruno). Never feel like I’d write them so I never put thought in their character and stories.
3. Do you have a favorite scene you’ve written from [Fanfic Name] story/chapter?
Yeah, from Two Fingers Crossed Over Your Lips, Chapter 8: Domestics (Orinthoptershipping). It’s when Crow is laying on top of Bruno on the couch, and they share a kiss. Crow is flirty, and Bruno is cute. I think this is the best example of my portrayal of Crow, lol.
4. Did you have any ideas that didn’t make the final cut of [Fanfic Name]?
No, for the most part, I end up using pretty much everything I write out. I’m the kind of person to go back and cut out entire scenes because I tend to write out scenes I like/want to do and find ways to connect them together. It can be kind of counterproductive because some scenes might actually pull you away from the plot you wanted, but I never never plot before I write, lol.
It doesn’t mean, however, that that I have never ended up writing something bigger than I expected. Currently, it’s The Supreme King’s Husband (Prologue) because I just wanted to add in Yūsei and Kizuna, omgs. QWQ
5. Do you listen to music when writing?
Yes, I do. It both keeps me focused and distracted at the same time.
6. If you listen to music when writing, what [do] you listening to when writing [Fanfic Name]?
A lot of Joji, Jack Strauder, Oliver Tree, CUCO, and the like. Pretty much this mix.
7. What story/headcanons do you feel the proudest of?
I really love my headcanon of Crow being masculine leaning genderfluid afab (assigned female at birth). It’s really fun exploring this headcanon, and I always write Crow with this in mind. However, it’s only 5D’s Crow, not Arc-V Crow. They are both Crow but, in a lot of ways, are essentially two different characters, and I’m very attached to the former. Crow didn’t start doing he/him stuff until he was, like, nine, and Yūsei and Jack have been super supportive about it since the beginning. Crow was she one day, and he the next day. Still Crow. ^^ This is from one of my many Crow WIPs:
"It doesn’t matter how I look or what I call myself, I’d always be their friend, and they’d always be my brothers. The bond we share is irreplaceable, and I’m thankful to have met them in the first place. They’ve always supported me, and they know it’s my right to tell people about me, when and how. If I wanted it to be different, they’d be the first one to know. As it is right now, though, I’m happy with the way I am."
Crow has two feminine outfits he wears occasionally: a yellow dress with red flats (a gift from his girls), and a yellow blouse with a green plaid skirt and black knee highs. To go with these looks, he wears his hair down with his headband around his neck and shiny lip loss Trudge bought for him.
8. Do you prefer writing one-shots or multi chaptered stories?
One-shots by a long shot, lmao. That being said, I sometimes don’t finish one-shots either.
9. If you had to assign a theme song to [Fanfic Name], which would you assign?
I don’t think in music. I do that thing where you pick a song and write a fic with it but not the other way around.
10. What is the line you’re proudest of from [Fanfic Name]?
One of my favorites, from the aforementioned Chapter 8: Domestics (Ornitoptershipping):
Closing his eyes, Bruno was taken back to the beach, the one he woke up at with no memories, but this time, he didn't feel the confusion, nor the faint touch of grief at the bottom of his heart. Instead, he only felt the quiet crash of the waves on his skin, the sun shining brightly over his head. This was now a memory he remembered twice.
(I really like this one-shot a lot, lol.)
11. How would you describe your style? (Character/emotion/action-driven, etc)
A lot of dialogue, stream of conscious narrative. I think. I never really thought about it.
12. Who is your favorite author?
I don’t really have one at the moment. I don’t read a lot, lol.
13. When did you start writing fanfic?
I got more serious about it in high school, but I think I started during middle school? KHR was a thing then, lol.
14. How do you feel about your older work?
Answered here
15. What is the fanfic you’ve written that you’re most proud of?
From YGO, probably The Distance of Time which features Orinthoptershipping. It’s very dialogue heavy, but it was a lot of fun. I’m very thankful of the people who took the time to read it, and even more those who commented and gave feedback.
16. What fanfic tropes do you avoid writing for?
I don’t do gore, violence, or torture. I don’t dislike them, I just don’t write them (so I don’t have any practice either).
17. What fanfic tropes do you gravitate to writing for?
I love ones that explore the idea of soulmates. I’m a big fan of the soulmates AU, but I love the different ways that people just complete each other that borders on more realism than trope. I mostly write fluff though, and attempts at humor because I think I’m funny.
18. Do you prefer editing as you write, or waiting until it’s finished?
I edit as a I write, which is bad because I don’t edit afterwards and miss typos (lol) and sometimes makes writing take longer to finish.
19. What words do you think you tend to use the most?
Epithets probably; otherwise, I don’t know.
20. What feedback makes you the happiest to hear?
I love comments that think my pacing is good and my character interpretations are great. If someone tells me that they can imagine this happening in canon, I’m over the moon.
21. Is there an idea you’ve always wanted to write, but haven’t yet?
Yes, and they’re all WIPs.
22. Do you enjoy making OCs for your fanfics, or prefer sticking to canon characters?
I mostly stick to canon characters and don’t like doing OCs (unless they’re extras or side characters). Writing OCs makes me a little uncomfortable actually because I fear veering into self-inserts which I cannot write because that’s even worse than doing OCs. The only OCs I like do are OC babies of my favorite ships.
For YGO, I currently have two: Sky Hogan, the daughter of Crow (Papa), Jack (Father), and Yūsei (Dad); and Mira Princeton, the daughter of Chazz (Mama) and Jaden (Dad).
23. How much do you stick to canon?
I try to write characters based off of canon as much as possible. If I don’t see a character doing something, then I don’t write them doing that thing. I’m more about filling in blank spaces than trying to rewrite inked ones.
24. Do you prefer AUs with the characters, or sticking to the original universe?
I do original universe most of the time.
25. What scene in [Fanfic Name] took the longest to write? What was difficult about it?
Smut scenes because they are pretty much one continuous scene, lololol. There’s no scene changes for the most part, so keeping up momentum is a must and a difficulty.
26. Are titles for your stories easy to come up with?
I suck at making titles. I can have whole fics done but back petal so hard because I forgot to give it title.
27. What time of day do you prefer to write?
Past bedtime.
28. Is there a part of [Fanfic Name] you’re surprised no one has picked up on yet?
I’m not sure what this is asking, lol.
29. What part of the writing process do you enjoy the most? (Brainstorming, outlining, writing, editing, etc)
Writing it. I don’t brainstorm or outline, I just write what comes to mind. I brainstorm only if I need to connect things together. Finishing it is a close second.
30. Do you write down all your ideas? What makes you decide to write one versus the other?
I never write down my ideas; it’s either I start on a WIP or I don’t. What I decide to write depends on my mood.
31. What was the development process of [Fanfic Name] like?
I write for three hours and produce only a thousand words, smh. Agony.
32. What story do you think showcases your signature style the most?
Fluff with subtle angst, I guess.
33. Have you ever stopped yourself from writing something? Why?
Yes, because I already have so many WIPs, I shouldn’t start on another one. (Does this stop me? No.)
34. Have you felt emotional while writing a scene before? What scene was it?
I might have, but I have terrible memory. U_U
35. Where’s your favorite place to write?
In my bed in the dark, on my phone. (Computers tire me out after a while.)
36. What fanfic of yours has the symbolism you’re proudest of?
I’m not sure what symbolism is.
37. Would you ever collaborate with another writer for a story?
Yes, but it will be a really big learning experience because I’m using to have most, if not all, control over my writing. I try to be open, but getting used to new things is hard, you know?
38. What story of yours are you surprised that people liked as much as they did?
Honestly, for YGO, any of them. The feedback for YGO isn’t a lot, lol, or it’s because I write characters/ships/tropes a lot of people don’t go for? I’m just glad I now know the people who like my stuff. I know my writing is good, but I won’t force people to read it.
39. What area of writing do you feel strongest in?
Characterization, if I’m not being too big-headed, lol.
40. What area of writing do you want to improve in?
I need to stop feeling the urge to rush ending and give the settings more details.

40 Questions — Meme for Fic Writers
Don’t you sometimes see those ask games and wish you could just fkg do them all? On this sunny Saturday, we make our dreams reality lolol
1.  Describe your comfort zone—a typical you-fic.
Short fic, I usually get a small scene I want written so I write around it, plus I love short stories with interesting punchline.
2.  Is there a trope you’ve yet to try your hand at, but really want to?
Probably, I don’t know them all ^^’
3.  Is there a trope you wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole?
Writing about stuff that disgust me I guess.
4.  How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Care to share one of them?
Like 5-6? I want to write about a restaurant but set in a world where people have powers I think the combo could be very funny. The main character has the power of insight, the plonge is a giant pool where you swim around cleaning. Backstories of characters with shitty and amazing powers and how they ended up here. Rival to lover character that has the power to see into the future.
5. Share one of your strengths.
Dialogues, subversion, and humor; classmates often said I have a touch to spin a sad story into something positive/happier.
6.  Share one of your weaknesses?
I get tired when I describe something for longer than 4 sentences.
7.  Share a snippet from one of your favorite pieces of prose you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
“In what kind of trouble have we walked right into?”, I ask my companions as they’re idly fixing their attire. Together, we’ve face many perils and this mission ranks among one of the most dangerous. Yet, the others had been…how should I say it…professional! Rescuing kidnapped princesses, vanquishing terrifying monsters, quests to restore mythical artifacts, save nations from insidious plots. Oddly enough, “Does this dress make me look fat?”, is not the answer I’m looking for.
Ribbon in my hair is the first time I wrote about my knights, I first dreamt about them when I as 18, my boyfriend at the time called my idea stupid and my world building pointless so I only started writing about them when I was 21. Now I write about them a little bit every year :)
8. Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
“Do you really want your last words to be complaints?”
“I die as I lived.”
“Will we become a fruit tree?”
“I don’t think so, it’s never been the case for my ancestors.”
“I’d love it if we could turn into a banana tree.”
“I’m not from the southern regions, plus I like apples more.”
“Just imagine, our fruits could have been banana flambée”
This death scene was a big finale to a story I wrote for a class in Uni, a story of war between clan of forest and volcano people, of the supposedly brutal death of a Goddess, of a mysterious apple tree whose fruit give vision of the past. I should revisit it.
9.  Which fic as been the hardest to write?
My analysis on D’Artagnan and the figure of the hero. Granted it’s an essay for school but I deeply loved it. I was too afraid to write or ask for help from the professor in charge of me (which made our relationship tense ^^’) but when I did, it was beautiful and I was very proud got 89% :D
10.  Which fic has been the easiest to write?
A play called Adelaide where an old couple reads their old fairytale book about a Prince on a quest to save a Princess. They bicker about the other misreading the story but we finally get to the part where the Prince tosses the princess apart to get a better view of the dragon of which he falls instantly in love. The book is actually their wedding album.
11.  Is writing your passion or just a fun hobby?
It’s one of my passions, but it’s not something I think I could live on so I delegated it to my hobby.
12.  Is there an episode above all others that inspires you just a little bit more?
The wedding scene in Shrek 2, my mind was blown when I saw it in theaters and when I need inspiration to write, I rewatch it.
13.  What’s the best writing advice you’ve ever come across?
Presentation is important. If trying to read you gives people headaches, they’ll stop. Choose a nice big font, space with paragraphs, be mindful of your spelling and missing words. Read out loud because some things written are bad said.
14.  What’s the worst writing advice you’ve ever come across?
I must’ve been lucky in this regard, I don’t think I’ve ever received advice that made me go NO, but I did have to listen/read stuff that made me gag.
15.  If you could choose one of your fics to be filmed, which would you choose?
I would love to the Adelaide acted out, some adjustments would be required because I’m no expert in play writing but I think I’d be great.
16.  If you only could write one pairing for the rest of your life, which pairing would it be?
Luyenor’a and Taram, names are placeholders as of now but they’re two of my knight, being the “only pairing I’m allow to write about forever” means I’d get more knight shenanigans done.
17.  Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write the scenes out of order?
I’m doing bullets point of what I want to happen and write stuff without much order. Some days I have no inspirations for what goes in the beginning but have loads for a later point. I surf the wave when it presents itself.
18.  Do you use any tools, like worksheets or outlines?
Word on my computer, a notebook in my bag, the note app in my phone.
19. Stephen King once said that his muse is a man who lives in the basement. Do you have a muse?
I have little trinkets all around my computer to invite inspiration.
20. Describe your perfect writing conditions.
Freshly woken up, having eaten, drinking something sugary and sometimes apple cider because the alcohol help lower my inhibition.
21.  How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?
I read out loud at least once the whole thing, helps with missing words but dude I reread my stuff on ao3 and always find mistakes still ^^’
22. Choose a passage from one of your earlier fics and edit it into your current writing style. (Person sending the ask is free to make suggestions).
I’m not going to put here because it’s in French and I don’t want to translate now but I wrote Vision of a world, mine when I was 16 and damn was I already depressed then?
23.  If you were to revise one of your older fics from start to finish, which would it be and why?
The Princess and the Soldier, some gay fairytale I think my first one, I’m sure I can do better bow
I also have one about a janitor and it’s a murder mystery I could redo
24. Have you ever deleted one of your published fics?
Once by accident, I was so angry I never rewrote it.
25.  What do you look for in a beta?
I don’t really use beta (beta reader right?) but I guess I’ve had like 3-4 when I was in Uni and had to read people’s wip and they read mine. They’d talk about what they liked, links they noticed, things that seemed weak or to change
26.  Do you beta yourself? If so, what kind of beta are you?
I usually just point out the stuff I like
27.  How do you feel about collaborations?
For a class in college, we had to act out a play we wrote collectively. Ten sketches written in pairs/alone. I made sure I was alone so I wouldn’t be saddled with someone else to write my sketch
28. Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.
I don’t follow fic writers; I just am in a mood for a ship and read what’s available. I do like my friend @alumort ‘s fics tho ^^
29.  If you could write the sequel (or prequel) to any fic out there not written by yourself, which would you choose?
There was a Phineas and Ferb fic focused on Perry I really loved. Their world building was something I’d never seen and they abandoned the story, so I did fanfic of a fic. Never dared to post it anywhere I mean it was their world to begin with.
30.  Do you accept prompts?
Of course, when inspiration is given I accept
31.  Do you take liberties with canon or are you very strict about your fic being canon compliant?
I don’t care about canon but I do love using it when there are little trivia to enrich the character.
32.  How do you feel about smut?
Love to read it sometimes, would love to write it. Some I’m like………….youveneverhadsexhaveyou…………………
33.  How do you feel about crack?
Love it!!!!!!!! I’m too self-conscious to write it tho. Oh maybe that could be a never before written trope I could try?
34.  What are your thoughts on non-con and dub-con?
Rape I can’t, dub-con where underlying requited feelings exist but anxiety™ don’t let the characters express them but they’re drunk so it surfaces is okay
35.  Would you ever kill off a canon character?
Hell yeah! I do when/if the death makes sense (I am still pissed at Kishi for Neji)
36.  Which is your favorite site to post fic?
Ao3 is where I post,I used devianart when I had one
37.  Talk about your current wips.
Marry Me for the Love of Cake: God I’m so sorry to the few people who followed it, I said I’d pick it up before the end of 2019 and well……I have the ending in bullet points
Yours, with Love: I hope I’ll finish it…I have most of the ending in bullet points
I guess I’m into rom com at the moment lolol
38.  Talk about a review that made your day.
I made my best friend read All this for a Roll Cake, and she laughed so much at my work, I took a picture I look at from time to time to remain humble.
39.  Do you ever get rude reviews and how do you deal with them?
Thankfully I’ve never received a rude review. My professor once told me it seemed kinda unnatural how unlucky my protagonist was vs. how lucky his love interest was (All this for a Roll Cake) but that was the whole point of the story so I just ignored her.
40.  Write an alternative ending to [insert fic title] (or just the summary of one).
Writing this I realised I lost my final version of All this for a Roll Cake T^T so I guess I’d rewrite the ending I have of the before the last version I still have.
Well this was fun ^^ got to revisit my works and remember many beloved pieces of fiction I wrote, I look forward to my next projects

another fanfic ask game post! enjoy!
This time I’m doing these questions!
Inspiration and Reading Questions:
1. How long ago did you start reading fanfiction? Writing fanfiction?
Reading: I’m not sure. Maybe 2011/2012
Writing: 2013
2. How do you spend your time when it comes to fanfiction? Are you primarily fic reader, writer, or a perfect 50/50 split of both?
It’s definitely both, but I wouldn’t call it a perfect 50/50 split. It varies. Sometimes I read more, but write less or vice versa.
3. Are there any fics that inspired you to write what you do.
Not really. I usually just write fics for whatever I want to.
4. Link your three favorite fics right now.
Current favorite WIPs.
All That’s Left by @doriangrayscale
flowers for your grave by @grantairesbottle
Lover of the Light by @areyoumiserableyet
Favorite (four) all-time fics
Ask me no question (and I’ll tell you no lies) by Signe_chan
If you offer salvation, I will run (into your arms) by mornmeril
this is fact not fiction by Rianne
Oh, It’s What You Do To Me by captainskellington
5. What are your fanfic pet peeves? Do they have a huge effect on whether or not you decide to read something.
I have a love-hate relationship with slow burn fics. Like I love them because give me the pining, give me the obliviousness, give me the amazing, sweeping first kiss, give me the angst, just give me all the delicious development that comes with finding common ground and falling in love. That being said, however, and I realize that I’m in the minority here, the hate part comes in when the story is really long, let’s 50+ chapters, and the story gets to chapter 50, but the romance still hasn’t started coming into play and I’m starting to just get sick of it because nothing has progressed to romance. Like there gets to be a time where too much is too much and usually, when that happens, it’s time for me to say adios! to the story.
6. How do you find new fic to read? Where do you primarily read fanfiction.
I primarily read fics on Ao3. I loathe FFN.net with every fiber of my being.
I usually just leave the Enjolras/Grantaire category open on and refresh it like three to four times a day for new stories to read.
7. Do you prefer to read short fics or long fics?
It depends on the ship, but I mostly like long fics.
8. How often do you reblog/comment on fics that you like?
I’m absolutely horrid at commenting (I’m working on getting better), but if it’s a story that I really like (ex. the three WIPs mentioned in question 4), I will comment every time there is a new chapter.
9. Tag 3 fic writers you think are underrated/unknown in the fandom/fanfiction community.
I have no idea. In my opinion, I think all writers are underrated and unknown.
10. What’s your favorite fandom, pairing, or character to read fic for?
Enjolras and Grantaire (Enjoltaire) from Les Mis.
Fanfiction Writing Asks:
11. How do you come up with your fic titles?
Through music or quotes. Sometimes one just comes to me, but mostly through music or quotes.
12. Tell the author your favorite fics title of theirs (not the fics, stricktly the title). Author: what’s your favorite title you’ve come up with and why?
I love all the titles of my fics, I can’t possibly pick a favorite.
13. Do you outline your fics? How much of a headache would someone get if they just look at an outline of yours without reading the fic?
I make some sort of outline, but I don’t think they’d really get much of a headache since it’s pretty much just a basic plot, maybe sometimes a little more than that.
14. Do you have personal word minimum that you hold yourself too? Why or why not?
Absolutely not! I write until I think I’ve found a good quitting spot. That can be 500 words or 20k words. It all depends on how I’m feeling and where my motivation is at.
15. Tell the author your favorite fics of theirs. What’s your (the author’s) favorite fic you’ve written?
Forever Was In His Eyes is my favorite with Begin Again as a close second.
Honorable mention because it pushed me out of my comfort zone: Beating of Our One Heart.
16. Do you research your fics? If so, how deep of a rabbit hole have you down by accident while researching?
I only research if the fic absolutely calls for it.
17. How obsessively do you sit and stare at your fic after you’ve just posted and wait for feedback?
On a scale of 1-100, 100. I’m not motivated by feedback like some writers are, but I do love to know if someone is enjoying my fic or not.
18. Do you have WIP that you keep telling yourself that you’ll eventually get back to, but deep down you know that’s probably lie?
Nope. Any WIPs that are unfinished, will probably stay unfinished.
19. Do you edit your fics after you write them, or do you prefer to just post and run (because it’s someone else’s problem now)?
I edit, and then, I’m constantly editing after it’s posted. If I re-read one of my fics and spot a spelling mistake, I can’t just let it sit there, I HAVE to fix it. I am also currently in the middle of long and giant editing project to make sure all my stories are the best stories that they can.
20. What’s your favorite part about the fanfiction writing process?
Um...I, for some strange reason, love outlining. I love coming up with the sequence of events. How do the characters get from point A to point B. How does the story end.
21. What’s your least favorite part about the fanfiction writing process?
Editing and revising. Always.
22. Do you take fic requests? If so, for what characters and why?
Nope. I don’t get enough attention in my inbox to do that.
23. What’s your absolute favorite trope to write?
Forbidden love. I’ve always been such a sucker for this trope.
24. What’s a trope that you’d like to never hear about as long as you live, let alone write?
I’m sure that there are some tropes that I would never touch in a million years, but I can’t think of any write now.
25. Do you listen to music as your write? If possible, link your writing playlist.
I listen to music, but I don’t have a playlist. Most of time it’s just Taylor Swift.
26. What’s your biggest distraction when writing?
Um...if I’m watching a brand new TV show or one I haven’t watched in a long time, I’ll pay more attention to the screen then what I’m supposed to be writing. This goes for movies too.
27, Do you like to give your readers some warning of what might be coming or just slap them in the face with content at random?
I keep my fics under lock and key until they are finished. No one knows any details about them except me. The one exception to this rule was Beating of Our One Heart. I warned that that fic would feature a polyamorous relationship (something I have never written before) while I was working on the outline.
28. How do you deal with writing pressure (ie: pressure to update, negative comments, deadlines, etc)?
Well, the only pressure I usually feel is worry that people won’t like my story, but I think that’s normal for every writer.
29. Have you ever written for an exchange or event of some kind? Which one(s)?
I don’t write for events.
30. Post a snippet from your current WIP without context - no more than 300 words.
R (11:46 P.M.): I’m not sorry.
31. Of the characters your write for, which is your favorite? Has that choice been swayed at all by your followers/readers’ reactions to certain one?
I love writing Enjolras. I’m sure people who have read my fanfics find him to be OOC, but I don’t care. When I write him, he’s half me projecting and the other half is him being the righteous revolutionary that we know him as.
32. Copy and paste your top three favorite lines/jokes/sentences you’ve ever written. What fics do they come from?
I can’t pick three, I have too many favorites.
33. What do you like writing better: one shots or multi-chapter stuff?
It depends. I like writing both. I also really like writing one shots that are 30k+ and multi-chapter fics that are under 10k. It all just depends on my mood and what the fic calls for.
34. How much of yourself and your life experience do you put into your writing? What do you think your readers’ image of you is?
As stated above, I project onto Enjolras. How much, I’m not saying. I do put my likes and dislikes as the characters’. When I write children, I draw inspiration from my nephews. I use my high school class schedule as the characters’ schedule when I write high school AU’s. The jest of what I’m saying is that I have no idea what my readers’ image of me is.
35. How much has writing fic changed your life?
It’s become my escape when things get too difficult or stressful.
36. Are they any fics or fandoms you’re embarrassed to have written or been apart of?
I’m not embarrassed by it, and I never finished or posted it, but I started writing a Sound of Music fic. I don’t remember what it was about, though.
37. Give an update on your current WIP - if you have one, give a sneak peek to a title or idea that you have and would like to write.
My current WIP is almost done. I just have to finish writing more scene.
38. What does your writing process look like? How chaotic is it on a scale of 1 (very tame) to 10 (you can’t handle this kind of chaos)?
It’s very tame, so 1. I write my stories in order of events, if I don’t I get confused on what’s happen. I start by writing an outline, and then I write and I edit (multiple times) before I post.
39. What’s something about your writing that you pride yourself on?
That I write what I want to. No comments can really influence the story (unless it’s a consistency thing) because I write the whole thing out before it’s posted.
40. How did you come up with the idea for [x fic]?
You can see this answer right here!
41. What’s your most popular fic (with the most notes on Tumblr, most hits/kudos on Ao3)?
My most popular fic based on hits: Somethings Are Meant to Be.
My most popular fic based on kudos: The Enjolras Guide to Weddings and Love.
42. Asker: pick three of the author’s works. Author: rank them 1 (the best) - 3 (the worst) based on whatever criteria you want - this could be something totally random that isn’t quality related ( like simply ranking fics based on how many trains appear in them) have fun!
I’m skipping this question!
43. Talk about a positive experience with fanfiction or the fanfiction community that you will always remember.
Every comment that I get, especially if I get it when I’m having a bad day, is like a little ray of sunshine for me. Again I’m not motivated by comments or feedback, but I can’t deny that receiving it is like a cherry on top of a delicious hot fudge sundae.
44. Ran about something writing related.
How long it takes to write. I wish I could just connect some sort of machine to my brain, and it would just churn out the words for my fics and they could be done a lot sooner. And that fanfiction could come before homework and life, but alas it can’t.
45. Fic specific questions - if you have any weird questions about specific works, here’s your shot to ask them!
Skipping this one, but if you have a question about any of my fics, my ask box is currently closed, but my DM’s are always open.
