can’t wait to attempt my show tomorrow with a foot that feels like someone is pouring acid on it if I walk at all, shoulders that feel like their muscles are melting when I use them too much, and a back that hurts like fuck just by sitting up :))

you were invited to a family dinner with your parents at a fancy restaurant earlier this evening but halfway through your boyfriend decided it would be appropriate to start playing with you under the table. caressing his hand on your squishy thighs and then further up your short skirt while holding a conversation with your mom. you felt your heart race and your body froze cause you were so scared someone would notice. you squeezed your thighs together locking his hand in between them to give him a warning. a deep chuckle escaped his lips. he pinched your thigh making you jolt up with a “ouch”. you threw a deadly glare at him and he honestly couldn’t care less cause all you got in return was a dirty smirk. “everything alright honey” your mom asked with a worried look on her face. “she’s been having bad cramps lately, I think I should take her home so she can get some rest” San replied squeezing your thigh.
and that’s how you ended up on your bed with your boyfriend sucking on your nipples and a hand inside your panties. “y-you really can’t restrain yourself c-can you” you moaned out trying to sound angry. San let go of your nipple and gave you a smirk sliding in two fingers inside your hole. “oh how well you know me..” he chuckled pumping his fingers faster. his actions made your back arch and eyes shut tight. this wasn’t the first time something like this had happened when you and San were out together, his sex drive was almost too much but you wouldn’t have it any other way seriously.
he pulled down your panties and rubbed your clit a few times before he dove right in. tongue gliding up and down your folds tasting your arousal. you put your hand in his hair pushing him down a bit, he groaned against your clit sending electric waves to your stomach. your moans were like angels singing in Sans ears and he could feel his cock twitch in his pants. your orgasm hit you like a train and you came all over his tongue, your body felt so heavy. San didn’t waste any time, he licked you clean and hurried to undo his pants letting his leaking aching friend out. “you don’t know how hard it is to keep my cock inside my pants when we’re out darling” his voice were deep and serious making your whole body shiver. he took his cock guiding it to your aching hole, being too excited like he used to get he didn’t give you a chance to adjust to him and you let out a whimper from the burn. he rutted into you like his life depended on it, your hands grabbing around him scratching his back. his eyes were pitch black and his bangs sticking to his sweaty forehead, San wasn’t that vocal instead he was growling and it always made your pussy clench around his cock sucking him all in. “fuck, I’m gonna cum if you keep clenching like that” “then cu- cum mmh inside me” you moaned out. he almost came just hearing you say that. he pulled out grabbing you by the waist flipping you over on your stomach. “on all fours now” he growled. with shaky legs you obeyed him.
he hit your ass cheeks very hard a few times which would leave handprints before taking hold on your hips squeezing hard while he pushed himself inside again. you felt tears rolling down your cheeks from the mixed feeling of pleasure and pain, San always used to go very rough on you when you had sex which meant you almost never had romantic and slow sex. “my beautiful sexy girl gonna get filled up good with my cum” he groaned throwing his head back. you felt your stomach twist and your mouth fell open when he put one hand on your clit and the other squeezing your ass hard while thrusting in and out. “pls S-Saaaannn!” you screamed, your legs almost gave out under you. “cum for me baby” he spanked you one more time with force and you came while letting out a loud broken moan. San pressed his hips into you and you could feel his cock twitch inside you, a big load of cum spurting into you. San pulled out watching as the cum was dripping out from your stretched hole all over your thighs, just the sight made him hard again. before you had time to rest you felt him pushing his cock in again.
“San you’re kidding…” you threw your head back to look at him. he gave you a sly smile letting out a little laugh. “when you have an addiction it’s damn hard to stop” he said bending over kissing your neck and grabbing your boobs as he started to thrust into you again.

We’ll Help You
Started as Steve and Robin platonic soulmate fluff. Devolved into *vaguely waves hands* whatever the fuck this is. I considered writing more but realized it would very quickly become Just Words, instead of a story, and I want y’all to have this because personally I think Steve and Robin are Goals in this one. As it is, there will not be a part 2 to this one… at least, not one written by me! If y’all want to do something by with this, go right ahead; just tag me in it!
“Bye, Mom, Dad, I’m going to Steve’s!” Robin calls into the house.
“Have fun!” Her mother calls back.
“Use protection!” Her dad yells.
“Dick!” Her mother yells back.
“That’s what I’m saying!” He says.
Melissa sighs. “Richard,” she says, faux-sweetly, “Robin and Steve are not together. She’s told us this many times.”
“Yeah, and neither were we when you-”
“Richard!” Melissa takes a breath. “Bye, Robin. Have fun, okay?”
“Okay,” Robin says, and closes the door, getting into Steve’s car with wide eyes.
He chuckles at her expression. “You good?”
“My parents have scarred me.”
Steve makes a face. “What, did you walk in on them?”
“No, they were talking about when they had me! I don’t need to know this, Steven!” She hisses back.
Steve just snorts, shakes his head, and drives on.
Robin is suddenly hit with a familiar, unwelcome pain. “Fuck,” she hisses, bending over and clutching her stomach. “Steve? I need to turn around.”
“What? Why? What’s wrong?”
She wants to cry. “I, uh. Just started? And I didn’t bring anything with me.”
“Oh.” A pause, “What medicine do you usually take?”
She blinks. “Um. Advil?”
“Okay. Then I’ve got you covered.”
“No- Steve, it’s not just-”
“Robin,” he says calmly, “I’ve got you covered. I’ve got supplies at home.”
She blinks at him. “Since when?”
His cheeks pinken. “Since we became friends? I just… I dunno. I knew we were gonna be forever, y’know? And I want you to have access to anything you’ll need. So I got some stuff.”
“What the fuck,” she whispers, tears beading in her eyes. “What the fuck, Steve, I’m gonna cry, that’s the nicest thing anyone’s ever done for me.”
Steve shrugs. “I just want you to have what you need.”
She sniffles and leans her head against the window. “Fuck, I love you.”
Steve smiles, puts a hand on her arm, squeezes gently. “Love you too, Robin.”
Tumblr media
They get back to his house and get settled in on the couch. “I’ve got a heating pad, if you want it,” Steve offers.
Robin blinks at him. “Marry me.”
Steve laughs. “I thought that’s exactly what we’re trying to convince your parents isn’t happening.”
“I don’t care,” she responds, groaning in relief when she positions the heating pad. She collapses back into the corner of the couch. “I want to have a dick.”
Steve laughs. “You can’t even look at a dick, Robin.”
“I could if it was mine,” she argues nonsensically.
“You don’t want a dick,” he assures her, then pauses. “If you were a guy, would you still like girls? Or would you still be gay?”
“I… don’t know,” she says, thinking. “I mean, there’s people who were born one gender and are the other now, right? And they still like the same gender. So I would too.”
“Okay, but are we talking you were born a guy? Or you’d turn into a guy? Cause if you were born a guy, that might change things.”
Robin groans in frustration. “I wouldn’t care, as long as Satan stopped throwing parties in my uterus every month.”
Steve snickers. “I can’t fix that, but I do have chocolate ice cream.”
“And again I say, marry me.”
He smiles at her, affection shining through. “We’d be the best platonic husband and wife ever.”
Robin smiles, best she can through the pain. “Only if I’m the husband.”
“Okay,” Steve shrugs. “I can be the wife.” He pauses for a second, then asks, “Is that… is that something you’d want? Being a guy?”
Robin hums. “No. Much as I hate certain things that come with being a woman, I definitely wouldn’t want to be a guy.” Steve hums, frowning, and Robin shifts on the couch. “Hold on,” she says, “I know that look. What’re you thinking?”
“Just…” he runs a hand through his hair. “I don’t get what the big deal is? I don’t have super strong feelings about being a guy. There’s nothing telling me, this is who you’re supposed to be.”
“Okay,” Robin says slowly, carefully, “and how about your feelings on being a girl?”
Steve shrugs. “Same. I don’t care either way.”
“Huh,” Robin says, and leans back. “That’s… I mean, that’s okay, obviously, but that’s not… what a guy would typically say.”
Steve rolls his eyes. “Right, ‘cause you’re such an expert on guys.”
Robin groans and thinks her head on the cushion. “Okay, so call someone. Call Eddie, he’d know, right?”
“Oh yeah,” Steve says, and hops up from the couch. “Hey, while I’m over here, should I order a pizza?”
Robin snickers. “Call Eddie first. Maybe he’ll come over and it’ll be the three of us. Actually, don’t even tell him, just invite him over. I wanna see his face when you tell him.”
Steve rolls his eyes. “You’re gonna be the death of me, Robs. Eddie, hey! Wanna come over? Pizza and ice cream with me and Robin?”
Robin hisses at him, so he says, “Sorry, ice cream’s been spoken for, actually. Wait, Robs, are you sure? The whole tub?”
“Do not test me, Steven,” comes her response.
“Yeah, okay. Yeah, if you want to get one for the two of us to share, that would be great. See you in twenty? Okay, cool. I’ll order the pizza. Bye!”
He orders the pizza without a hitch. He’s promised delivery within fifteen minutes and wanders back over to the couch, where he grins at Robin. “Wanna pick a movie before Eddie gets here and can veto it?”
Robin grins back. “You know I’m gonna pick something you hate.”
“I know.” His smile turns more genuine. “As long as you’re happy.”
“I don’t deserve you.”
He waves her off. “Course you do. You gonna pick?”
“I’m surprised you doubted me,” she says, and picks something he hadn’t realized he had.
The pizza arrives a short minute before Eddie does. They all eat before Robin makes Steve and Eddie sit so she can recap everything.
“Yeah,” Steve agrees, shrugging. “I just don’t care.”
“So our question is,” Robin says, “do you? Is there something in you that says you’re a guy, or would be wrong as a girl?”
“Definitely,” Eddie nods, studying Steve. “Y’know there’s people in between? Who aren’t really a guy or a girl?”
Steve’s eyebrows hit his hairline. “Really?”
“Yeah,” Eddie nods. “They go by they or them, and a lot of times they’ll change their name to be something more in-between too, like Avery or Taylor.”
“Huh,” Steve says, tipping his head back to stare through the ceiling as he thinks. “So… so if I were to do that… and maybe go by Stevie-”
“Then we’d call you Stevie,” Eddie nods. “We’d say they’re so cool, they have a nailbat, I’m so glad I’m friends with them.”
“Oh,” Steve says. His voice is shaky.
“Stevie,” Robin murmurs. “You’re crying.”
“Oh,” he says again, wiping his face and giving a little laugh. “Sorry. I dunno why. I think… that makes sense.” They look at Eddie, then Robin, holds eye contact when they say, “That’s who I am.”
Robin’s tearing up, too. “Nice to meet you, Stevie,” she whispers.
They choke out a little laugh and move to sit next to her, pulling her into a hug. “Love you, Robbie.”
“You too,” she whispers. “Hey, can I still call you dingus?”
Stevie laughs. “Sure, Robs.”
“Cool.” She beams and pulls them into a tight hug. “‘M glad you figured this out.”
Stevie giggles. “Me too.” They turn to Eddie, “Thanks for helping me figure this out.”
Eddie smiles warmly at them. “Anytime,” he promises. “And hey, now that you know, there’s plenty you can do, if you want to.”
Stevie furrows their brows. “Like what?”
“Well, you could grow your hair out, or cut it. You could change your wardrobe. You could get makeup, if you wanted. Anything that’ll help you feel more like you.”
Stevie frowns. “I don’t know what feels like me.”
“That’s okay,” Eddie says, smiling first at them, then at Robin. “We’ll help you.”

“Shiiitt” Shuri groaned half awake, only  because a little foot had connected with her rib cage. “That’s what you get for letting him sleep with us last night. ‘It’S CoOl  ZaH! YouR mOmS trIpPing YoU cAn StAy.” Your groggy voice came from the other side of the bed. “It’s a king sized bed I figured there was plenty of space.” She pouted. “Yea. You didn’t foresee him being horizontal by morning huh?” Shuri chuckled turning onto her back running a hand over her face. “No. I didn’t actually.”
“Mmhmm” You throw the covers off of your body, sitting up on the side of the bed to stretch. “Is it already time for you to get up. It’s still dark out?” Her eyes adjusting to the dark room. “Yes baby it’s 5 am.” You stand to your feet and yawn making your way to the bathroom. “What does Zah do when you have to leave this early and I’m not here?”
“I drop him off at moms and she takes him to school.”  Shuri let out a yawn herself. Stretching before getting out of the bed heading into the bathroom right behind you. “Damn, you have my Zah man up this early?” She turned on the water in the sink to brush her teeth as you prepared your shower.
“Not much of a choice Shuri.”
“Why doesn’t your mom just move in to help?”
“Because I’ll be damned.” Shuri let out a small chuckle. “You know you don’t hav-“
“You don’t have to work Intombi entle, move to Wakanda with me and all you have to do is thatha lo mtya ubukhulu. (Take this strap thickness)” squinting your eyes, biting your lip and rubbing your hands together, you give your best Shuri impression. Shuri raised her brow the brushing of her teeth slowing. “Is that supposed to be me?” She said her voice muffled by her toothbrush. “That’s all you baby girl and you know it. That’s why you’re trying not to laugh.” You say removing your clothes. Shuri finally let go of her laugh. “That was pretty good sthandwa. Your Xhosa is getting exceptional.”
She spat and rinsed her mouth as you got ready to step into the shower, when suddenly you were pulled back by strong arms. A small shriek left your mouth as Shuri kissed her way down your back making you Shiver. “Baby I have to shower so I can gooo.” You chastise. “I know *kiss* I know. Just let me get full before you leave.” She placed another kiss at the center of your back and you let out a moan. Before you could reply a sharp pain shot through your ass. “Shuri what the fuck!” She’d bitten you and was latching on. “Girl let go of my ass. You’re gonna make me wake up Zah.”  She released your bottom but not before giving your bite mark a huge suck to sooth it. “I couldn’t help it. Just look at that shit.”
“Only you would brush your teeth and then bite and suck dirty ass” Shuri scrunched her face in faux confusion. “Was it dirty? Let me smell.”
“Shuri get the fuck away from me. It’s too early for this shit.” You laugh and she joins. “I could smell it over by the sink anyway.” You throw a shampoo bottle at her as she ran out of the bathroom just in time to not get hit. “Veeeery slow sthandwa. We gotta work on that.” She spoke low from the other side of the door. She looked over at the bed and Zah was still sound asleep. Comforter bunched up around him his head now at the end of the bed. She chuckled shaking her head as she headed down stairs to make you some breakfast.
Tumblr media
“Damn it smells good in here baby!” You walked in the kitchen to find Shuri putting the final touches on your plate of food. With her purple and black “Chef Panther” apron on and a dish towel tossed over her shoulder. Seeing her like this always gave you butterflies. How in the hell did you get so lucky.
“Have a seat sthandwa sam. I made a lovely breakfast for a lovely lady. Some French toast with pumpkin spice whipped cream, made with Ezekiel bread I already know how you are. Turkey bacon and hashbrowns. And I’m finishing up your energy te-“ Shuri stopped in her tracks when she turned around and got a glimpse of your attire for the day. You’d decided to rock a grey power suit with a matching trench and you looked scrumptious! “Well Damn daddy, I didn’t know it was your turn to be daddy today?” Shuri sat your plate down at the bar before walking up to you and wrapping her arms around your waist. “Ooouu. Daddy huh? I might like that. Don’t mess around and let me get used to it.” You say seductively.
“If you’re gonna keep dressing like this you might as well cause this suit is bringing out the woman in me.” She purred. You threw your head back in a laugh. “Well you got it down pact. Look at you barefoot and in the kitchen.” You reached around her body to smack and squeeze her ass. “Staying in a woman’s place.”  You bite your lip giving her low seductive eyes. “Oh shit! You gon be my sugar daddy!” She said in her best American accent. She stuck her tongue between her teeth and moved imaginary hair behind her ear. You burst out laughing. “Girl move!” She laughed removing herself from you allowing you to sit down and eat. She sat with you as you ate and had a cup of tea.
“Ok babe. Now seriously. Remember school starts at 8am so you and Zah need to be out of here no later than 7:15 which means you need to be getting him up in the next 15 minutes!” You say while finishing up your plate and standing up to rinse it off.
“Moooommy, mooommy, mooommy…” She says sarcastically and you give her your best mommy stare down. “I knoooow the schedule. You went over this thousands of times last night. I’m a genius babe I think I can handle Zah for a day.” You put on your gloves. “I know, I know. I just want to make sure you don’t overwhelm yourself with him this morning.”
Shuri walks up to you, wrapping you up in her arms and pulling your chin up to where your mouths would meet. “I got him babe. He’ll be safe and well taken care of. I know you’re not used to leaving him in just anyone’s hands. But I’m not just anyone. I love him more than I love you.” You immediately pop her in the back of the head already knowing she couldn’t be serious for more than two seconds. “Ow! Don’t be a hater ubusi!” You both laugh. “Thank you baby. Really.” She places a light kiss on your lips. “Its nothing. I got you. The both of you. Now get out of here, so I can wake up Zah. Have an amazing day at work, and when you get home I’ll have dinner ready. We’ll watch some holiday movies, and tonight, I’ll make your body feel brand new. How would you like that?” She says placeing light kisses on your neck and you wrap your arms around her neck and let out a moan.
“Mmm. I’d like that a lot.”
“I know.” She said as she nuzzled her nose into your neck. You pulled back “ Ok seriously I gotta go baby. I’ll be here all day with you.” You step out of her arms and grab your purse. “Ok. And I want names for everyone who looks at your titties today.”
“Shuri be for real for just a minute per day.” She laughs as you head out of the door. “Bye baby! I love you” You toss over your shoulder as you walk out.”
“I love you too mama!”
Tumblr media
Shuri entered the room seeing Zah still sound asleep. She sat at the edge of the bed and nudged him lightly in his side. “Zah man. It’s time to get up little guy.” Zah didn’t budge. She pressed at his shoulder shaking a bit harder.“Come on kiddo.” She repeated. Zah groaned holding the covers over his head tighter. “Ooooh no.. nope it’s time to get up! I have to get you out of here on time. So your mom doesn’t trip on me. Work with me kiddo.” She said pulling the cover from over his head.
“Uuuggghhh! I don’t wanna gooo!” He’d pulled the covers back over his head and his little muffled voice spoke from under the covers.
“Uuuuggghhh! But you have to!” She mocked sarcastically.
“Whyyy?”
“Because your mommy said so. Lets go and I’ll make you pancakes”
“Pancakes?” Zah repeated sitting up. Suddenly interested. “Your pancakes? Not the healthy ones mommy tries to makes me?” Shuri chuckled. “Well your moms not here to cook them. So yes! My pancakes.”
“PANCAKES YAAAAYYY!!” Zah hopped up, throwing his hands in the air and wiggling his little knees as Shuri laughed. She picked him up carrying him at her side like a football. He screamed with laughter as she dropped him off at the bathroom in his room. “Alright do your business. Brush your teeth, wash your face, and PEE!!” Zah giggled.
“PANCAKES!” Shuri yelled as she sat a tray full of an assortment of her famous pancakes in front of Zah. They both were now fully dressed ready for the day. She’d made regular, chocolate, blueberry, and strawberry. Zah clapped his hands and immediately placed Strawberry and Chocolate onto his plate drowned them in syrup and dove in. Shuri sat to eat the remainder with him.
“Shuri.” Zah says
“Hm?” She responded mouth full.
“I don’t wanna go to school”
“Zah, I don’t want to hear it. You’re already dressed and ready to go and you have to go learn all that you can so you can come to Wakanda and help me in my lab.”
“But it’s the last day before Thanksgiving break! We’re not learning anything. Just watching a movie. And I’ve already seen Trolls like a bagillion times!”
Shuri gave an exasperated sigh. “That does sound like a pretty lame day.”
“I want to hang out with you. It would be a bunch more educational.” Zah looked at Shuri smiling from ear to ear, giving her the cutest puppy dog eyes.
“Laying it on thick huh?” Shuri smirked
Shuri sat in contemplation. Her hand coming up to rub her chin. After a moment she looked back at Zah. “Ok. You can hang with me.”
“Yeeeeesssssss!!!!” Zah jumped up wrapping his arms around Shuri. “Thank you. You’re the coolest!”
“Yea yea I know! Calm down, we’ve gotta go over our game plan. Are you listening?”
“Yes!” Zah yelled. “Oookay!” Shuri says enthusiastically. She points a finger at him.
“So first off, if your mom calls I’ll point at you. And when I point you freeze. Hold your breath if you have to. But she CAN NOT know that you are with me. Let’s practice. Dance.”
Zah stands and starts doing his version of the gritty. “Ooouuuu kill ‘em Zah! Go Zah, go Zah.” Shuri hyped and then she pointed.
“Like this.” Zah stood frozen in a running position with his mouth in a bubble.
“Boom! Juuuuust like that. You’re brilliant!” Shuri gave a slow clap. “Now if your mom asks about your day. It was great school day, you had fun. You ate cookies, and watched trolls. Got it.”
“Got it!”
“Your mom can NEVER know about today.”
Zah shook his head “Never!” Shuri smiled as they did their special handshake. “Partner in crime forever.”
“Ok kid. How do you feel about a trip to the avengers headquarters?”
“Let’s Gooo!!”
Tumblr media
“Shuri look!!” Shuri looked up just in time to see Peter hanging upside down from the ceiling as he held Zah.
“Really Pete.. Get down!” Shuri scolded.
“Why?  He’s having fun! Kids in a room full of super heroes it’s not like hes gonna get hurt.”
She shook her head turning and continuing her call as Peter began swinging around the building with Zah hanging on having the time of his life. “Becareful!!”
“Whatever Panther!” Shuri rolled her eyes.
“She’s going to kill you Shuri.” Riri stated. Riri and Shuri were able to remain friends and colleagues after Shuri opened up to her about the way she’d always felt about you. Riri was very supportive of you and Shuri’s relationship and was now in her own happy relationship as well.
“She’ll never know.” Riri smirked on her end of the call. “You think so? Hmm ok.” Shuri smacked her lips. “ Oh ye, of little faith.”
“And oh ye of little knowledge. She’s gonna find out and she’s gonna have your ass for dinner.”
“Ooouu, that sounds like treat.” Shuri smiled
“Ugh! Anywho. I’ll send you the sketches of the updates for my suit. If you can double check those calculations for me.”
“Cool Ri, I got it!”
“Thank you. And good luck.”
“I don’t need luck. I’m too smooth.”
“Girl bye!”
As if Riri had spoken you into exisistence immediately your picture popped up in holographic form. Shuri’s heart dropped into her stomach, and in an effort to hang up with Ri she answered your call.
“HEEEEYYY BABYYYYY!!” Shuri said obnoxiously loud in an attempt to get Peters attention so that he could get Zah quiet. You squinted in confusion at Shuri’s unusual amount of enthusiasm.
“Hey babe! I was just calling to see how Zahir got off to school. He wasn’t too much trouble was he.”
“Oh no babe! He was a perfect angel!”
“That’s crazy! He always gives me such a hard time!”
“Well, what can I say sthandwa..” Her eyes followed Peter and Zah praying they stayed off in the distance.
“What’s wrong with you? What are you looking at!”
“Oh, No-“
At that moment Peter flashed by with Zah’s laughter zooming by. Shuri dropped her wrist waving them down. Her face balled up in frustration. She got their attention and pointed at Zah. Zah loudly whispered. “WE GOTTA FREEZE!” Shuri slapped her hand over her forehead. “Fuck. I’m caught.” She whispered. She lifted her wrist back up to her face and there was a stern look on your face.
“Yes, yes you are caught. But not because Peter just flew by dangling my baby in the air from a web! You’re caught because after an hour of a child being absent the school calls to inform me of my child’s absence!” Shuri looks like deer caught in headlights as Zah gathers Peter and everyone within walking distance telling them to freeze and catch a bubble. Whispered laughs echoed the building as everyone played the game staring at Shuri for the signal to move.
Shuri just shakes her head rubbing the back of her neck. “Damn.” She said
“Damn is right. I’ll talk to you when I get home.” You hang up in her face.
“She’s mad as fuck” She whispered
Shuri looks back up and Zah’s face is turning red from him trying to hold his breath. “Holy shit breath!” She says and everyone collectively gasps and burst into laughter.
“Ooouu you said a no no word.”
“And you know know not to say it. So don’t.” Shuri looked at him sternly. “Come here Zah.” Zah ran over to Shuri as she squatted getting eye level with him. “So mommy know and since we’re already in trouble we might as well have blast before your mom takes me out. Wanna go ride go-karts?!”
“YES!”
Tumblr media
Shuri took Zah to Fast Eddie’s. They rode the ferris wheel, the train, drove go karts, and played laser tag. They ate pizza and cotton candy and played all the arcade games. Shuri won Zah so many prizes they had to put them on a cart for when they left. Right now they were on the last lap of their last round on the go karts and then they were due home. Shuri had called a cleaning company to make sure the house was spotless when you returned home and had Aneeka let them inand ordered lots of flowers, your favorite Crème brûlée donuts, and she still had to make dinner. So it was time to go.
As Shuri exited the car Zah stayed seated. “Let’s do it one more time!”
“You said that last time Zah. It’s time to go now.”
“It’s not that long and I promise it’ll be the last time.”
“Zah, get out of the car”
“I don’t want to! One more time!”
“Zah! I said NO!” Zah’s lip began to tremble and he began to thrash his little body around in a temper tantrum. Shuri reached into the car unbuckling Zah, pulling him up by his arms and throwing him over her shoulder. She silently walked out of the building with the screaming boy.
“My toys! What about my toys?!” When they get to the car Shuri opens the door sitting him in the car and squatting down to his level.
“You haven’t given me very many reasons to punish you Zah. But, from this day forward you should know that I do not reward bad behavior.
That little show you put on in there will never go over well with me. So you know longer have the privilege of toys. Now sit back, put on your seatbelt, and be quiet.” She states calm and stern. Zah, shocked that Shuri was actually getting on to him. Sat back and did as he was told with tears in his eyes. Shuri checked his seatbelt and shut the door and hopped into the front seat to began a silent journey home. Her heart hurting and her eyes stinging.
“Shuri.” A small voice came from the backseat as the car stopped at a red light. “Yes?” She answered softly.
“Are you mad at me?”
“I am dissapointed yes.”
“Do you hate me?” Shuri turned in her seat looking back as a tear dropped from Zah’s eye.
“No! Absolutely not Zahir. Griot. Initiate automated drive home.”
“Yes, Panther. Initiating automated drive home.” Shuri removed her seatbelt climbing into the backseat.
She wrapped Zah in a hug kissing the top of his head. “I could never hate you! I do the things that I do for you because you’re such a brilliant well mannered child. I love you very much and I love doing things for you. But obedience and gratefulness will get you far little one. There’s nothing in this world I wouldn’t do for you and your mother. And neither of you have to act out to get it from me.  Is that understood?” Zah nods against Shuri’s chest lt as the car pulled up to the house.
“Now when we get inside I need you to go hang out in your room while I cook and do damage control with your mom.” She let him go and smiled and he gave her a smile back.
“Yes ma’am”
Tumblr media
When you got home the smell of a clean home and cooked meal greeted you, along with several assortments of flowers all over the house and soft music playing from the kitchen. You bypassed the kitchen and head right into Zah’s room. He sat peacefully doing a puzzle with “Adventure Time” playing on low on his television.
“Well hello, my little school skipper.” Zah looked up at you with a bashful look on his face.
“Mommy please don’t be mad at Shuri. I talked her into it and she just wanted me to have fun!” You walked further into the room losing the door behind you. “Oh, I don’t doubt that one bit. You should be less concerned about Shuri and more concerned about the trouble you’re in.” Zah gave his best sad face.
“I don’t care about those eyes, hand me that tablet and your switch. I’ll give them back when I see fit.” Zah sighed in defeat getting up to collect his favorite items and had them to you.
“Ok. Get yourself prepared for dinner.”
“I already ate and got sent to my room for the night.” You furrow your brows.
“What?”
“I threw a tantrum on the go karts and Shuri made me leave all of the toys there and sent me too my room.” Your heart fluttered a bit immediately concerned for Shuri.
“Ok. Well do that then. And no youtube.”
“Yes ma’am” He called as you exited the room and headed back down stairs.
As you made it to the top of the stairs you see Shuri at the bottom waiting for you with a glass of wine and an apologetic face. You give her a steely glare as you descend the stairs.
“Sthandwa sam, Ndiyaxolisa kakhulu (I’m so sorry)”
“Don’t you try to Xhosa your way out of this Udaku.” You say removing the glass of wine from her hands and walking past her into the kitchen as you take a sip. Shuri trailed right behind you. Entering the kitchen you find that
she has your favorite meal prepared by candelight. You’re favorite delicacy from your favorite bakery displayed beautifully in the center of the table. You remove your jacket and place it on the back of a chair and turn to face her.
“Shuri what were you thinking!”
“I wasn’t. I just wanted to have a fun day with just him. We never get to hang out by ourselves. And it was the last day before he was on break! They weren’t doing anything anyway.” She spoke fast as if she was a child in trouble with her mom.
“Well I see how he got you.” You say picking up your drink, taking another sip and leaning against the counter. Shuri chuckled dropping her head. “As much as I want to chew into you. I hear you’ve learned your lesson.” She looked up at you with a slight smirk, nodding.
“He went crazy on me. I’d never seen him act like that!”
“It hurt your heart to have to punish him didnt it?”
“Tore me up.”  She said with a pained expression. You laugh.
“Where are the toys?” Shuri feigned confusion.
“Huh?”
“The toys you supposedly left at the arcade?” Shuri had once again been caught. “They’re upstairs in the guest closet.” You cocked your head to the side and the both of you burst into laughter.
“You’re such a softie. He only got like that because of all the sweets I’m sure you allowed him to have as he literally hang from the ceiling.” Shuri’s laughter continued.
“I’m sorry about that babe, truly.” She said as she walked up to you placing her hands on your lower back and massaging. “I apologize for adding stress to your day and it will never happen again.” Your head fell forward onto her shoulder.
“Yes you did. But I’ll forgive you because you’re amazing with your hands.” You hummed. “Oh really. I’m good with other things too.” She lifted you up placing you on top of the counter as you squealed. She immediately started kissing on your chest. “Shuri what are you doing?” She took the glass from your hand  and placed it away from you on the counter. “Ending my apology properly.” She began unbuttoning your pants. As she continued kissing you. “Babe Zah.”
“He’s on punishment he’s not coming down here.” She gave your thigh a couple of taps. “Lift up.” Without hesitation you lift yourself as she slides your pants and underwear down over thighs sliding them off with your heels still in place. She slid you to the edge of the counter and threw your legs over her shoulders wasting no time spreading your lips and tongue kissing your bud. You gasp, slipping your fingers into her curls and arching your back. “Ooohhhh Fuck! Shuriii”
Tumblr media
You’d eaten and been eaten, gotten Zah all bathed and were now settling in a bath that your very apologetic girlfriend had made for you. Shuri was upstairs finishing up a bedtime story for Zah.
“Did you get in trouble?” Zah asked Shuri.
“Big trouble! But it was worth it because we had a blast today and I’ve got a feeling I’m in the clear now” She laughed
“Yea today was the best EVER! Can I ask you a question Shuri?”
“Ofcourse kid.”
“You love me and my mommy right?” Shuri smiled. “More than anything in this world.”
“So you’re going to marry her?” He asked inquisitively. Shuri chuckled.
“That’s the plan. Little man.” Zah smiled big.
“Cool!” Shuri tucked him into his bed. And walked toward the door. “Goodnight,
Zah man.”
“Wait! One more question.”
“What’s up?”
“What do people in Wakanda call their mommies?”
“Umama.”
“Oh ok. Goodnight, Umama.” Shuri’s heart rose into her throat. Her eyes watering. She flicked off the light before her tear fell.
“Goodnight. unyana wam (my son)”

Planning to write a Miguel x fem!reader fic inspired by the Disney Enchanted movie where fem!reader is someone in their mid-to-late 20s who moved to Nueva York to become a fairytale/fancy wear designer. BUT they keep getting rejected from fashion studios and fashion houses in Nueva York so they have a part-time job as a princess party cosplayer/performer for children’s birthday parties.
However, that job doesn’t pay reader much and reader gets kicked out of their apartment because they’re wayyy behind on rent. After getting kicked out, reader (who’s still in full princess cosplay with a gown and a tiara and everything from working at a party earlier in the day before getting kicked out) is sitting on a bench or something at night with their suitcase, worrying about what they’re gonna do next.
Cue Miguel O’Hara (CEO of Alchemax or a lawyer, I haven’t really thought about it yet) (also a 31-year-old single dad) and Gabriella (adorable six-year-old who loves princesses and fairytales) walking out of an ice cream shop.
And to keep this whole fic idea in the spirit of the Enchanted movie, Miguel in this fic is like Robert from the movie where Miguel doesn’t believe in fairytales or “happily ever afters” because his previous wife/fiancée who’s Gabriella’s biological mom left them or passed away when Gabi was just a few days old.
Gabi sees reader and runs up to her, thinking reader is a real princess. Reader and Gabi have a cute conversation where reader pretends to be a princess to indulge Gabi.
Miguel comes up to reader and Gabi, telling Gabi not to run off on her own and talk to strangers. Gabi points at reader’s suitcase, telling Miguel, “But the princess has nowhere to go. Can we take her home with us?”
Gabi INSISTS that reader stays with them (Gabi’s always wanted a mom and with six-year-old logic, who would make a better mom than a real-life princess??). Miguel eventually relents in letting reader stay with them because 1. He’s always taught Gabriella the importance of helping others, 2. You don’t seem like a threat and you just seem like a genuinely lost soul in need of some help in Nueva York, and 3. The penthouse he and Gabi live in has an extra room that you could use.
Thus, cue slow-burn romance between Miguel and reader where reader helps to remind Miguel that while life can come with some of the greatest pains, it can come with some of the most magical moments as well.
A couple of my other notes:
- Thinking of incorporating a scene where reader sews a gown for Gabi’s seventh birthday a few months after staying with Gabi and Miguel (because Gabi’s always talking about how she wants to look like a princess just like reader :’)). Scene would include a cute moment with Miguel and reader, where reader is sewing late at night and Miguel just got back home from work, and he tells you stories about when Gabi was a baby as well as stories about himself that make you both laugh
- I’m planning to make Lyla a human in her late 20s who’s a fashion mogul for the biggest fashion house and magazine in Nueva York. She’s like a younger sister to Miguel and Gabi calls her “Auntie Lyla.” Lyla calls Gabi her “favorite O’Hara” haha
- Lots of Gabi trying to play matchmaker for her dad and reader hehe
- I’m debating on incorporating the rest of the ATSV crew. Like maybe Peter B and Jess can be Miguel’s coworkers in this fic
- As for the younger Spider crew, I could write Gwen as an intern at Miguel’s company who is interning under Jess, and Miles is interning under Peter B, while Margo is interning for Lyla. Pavitr wouldn’t be interning for anyone, but comes to Lyla’s building often since his gf Gayatri models for Lyla’s fashion magazine. And Hobie’s not working for anyone, but he’s good friends with Gwen and just likes to hang around Miguel’s company to annoy Miguel
- ^ And to incorporate the younger Spider crew into this fic, Miguel taking reader to meet Lyla only for reader to end up helping style a shoot with Gayatri in it (reader also meets Pavitr) and Lyla notices reader’s talent and passion for gown design. Then Miguel takes reader to his workplace, where reader tries to play matchmaker for Gwen and Miles (reader notices that they have a crush on each other)
- And it’s just these little moments and more time spent together where Miguel can’t help but marvel at the warmth and kindness you exude and extend to everyone you meet—your ability to instantly make anyone smile and feel good about themselves as if by magic. And it’s moments like these where Miguel begins to fall for you little by little
- And you can’t help but fall for Miguel more and more when you see his dedication to helping others through his work + his endless love for his daughter. While you and Miguel have vastly different career passions and interests, you both ultimately want to help others (Miguel through either being a lawyer who helps people or being CEO of Alchemax where he develops more sustainable technology to help others, and you wanting to help people from all walks of life feel more confident in themselves through the clothes you create)
- Just so much fluff and cute found family trope where reader loves Gabi like their own daughter :’)
- I gotta finish my “A Renaissance of Romance” Miguel x reader fic but I’m def putting this whole new fic idea up to flesh it out soon. Lemme know if you wanna be tagged for this Enchanted inspired fic :)

Depression Spikes
Intro: Well, lookie here, I actually got halfway through, I'm gonna try and post these once a week, this season is gonna have around 12 chapters, anyways, hope y'all enjoy~
Tumblr media
Summary: When life and stress gets to you, you make a decision, whether it was a good decision or not is a different story.
You sat in your shared bedroom, staring at the wall in front of you, hoping… no, praying that the past few weeks were all just some nightmare and that you’d wake up tomorrow and everything would be fine, your best friend wouldn’t be locked away in a high security hospital, your dad wouldn’t of died in front of you, and you wouldn’t be holed up in your room, a new prosthetic on your arm and in pain, blocking everyone out including Lena who had been nothing but a doting girlfriend in your time of need, you just wanted this all to be some horrible dream, you wanted to wake up from it.
You felt bad that you weren’t speaking to Lena, doing your best to avoid her and everyone else that you possibly could, your depression had become even worse as time went on and you knew it would get worse the longer you pushed the people that loved you away but you couldn’t help but feel that maybe everyone would be better if you weren’t around, life would be easier if that was the case wouldn’t it?
After a few hours of staring, you heard the door open as Lena crept in, she had been trying everyday to get you to speak to her or at the very least acknowledge her presence “I brought you some lunch from the diner… It’s your favorite” she said, going and setting it down on the nightstand you were close to before setting her things down and kneeling down in front of you “I was thinking that we could go for a walk today, some fresh air would do you some good” she said, looking at you and wanting to reach out to you but she also didn’t want to scare you.
Seeing you like this broke a piece of her heart, she hated seeing you this way and she was running out of ways that she could try to break you from this trance that you had gotten yourself into “Come on, we can hit that ice cream shop that you love” she suggested, cautiously reaching out and resting it on your leg, feeling some relief when you finally met her gaze, the two of you locking gazes before you felt tears building in your eyes.
When Lena saw the tears, she immediately engulfed you in a hug, letting out a breath of relief when she felt you slowly wrap your arm around her and holding you tighter, whispering ‘I love you’ and ‘I got you’ in your ear as you finally let yourself sob, all of the feelings that you’d been holding in for the past few weeks finally coming out as you shook in Lena’s hold “I’m sorry” you croaked out in between sobs, wishing you could’ve been better.
Lena slowly pulled back and cupped your face gently “Honey, you have nothing to be sorry for… These past few weeks have been insane, no one would know how to process what all you’ve been through, just know that I’m here for you and I’m not going anywhere” she assured, squeezing your arms before gently wiping the remaining tears off your face “Lets get some food in you and we’ll go on that walk I promised” she suggested, handing you the bag of food before stepping away to grab you a change of clothes.
xxxx
Later on that night as Lena was making dinner, you were on the phone with your mom, her ecstatic to hear your voice again, Lena called her every other day and would update her on how you were doing but nothing compared to actually hearing it from you “I’m sorry we haven’t been able to talk much… It’s been hard for me to adjust” you apologized, looking at the prosthetic that was hanging at your side, you still not fully used to it “I understand, dear… It’s rough not having your father around anymore, I keep thinking that he’ll come walking through the front door, acting like a goofball” your mother said, giving a sad smile as she looked at her now empty living room.
After talking with your mother for a bit, Lena called saying that dinner was ready, telling your mother you loved her and would talk to her tomorrow before you headed into the kitchen, not feeling overly hungry but you knew you had to eat something to regain the energy and weight you had lost during your trance period “Thanks Lena” you said, offering her a small smile as she handed you a plate “Of course, I hope you enjoy it” Lena smiled, turning to fill up her plate when she heard you set yours down before grabbing her wrist.
Once she looked at you, you shook your head and gave her wrist a small squeeze “No, I mean thank you for being here for me… I know I didn’t do anything to deserve it, I was pushing you away but you stayed with me anyways and I will never be able to tell you how much I appreciate what you have done for me” you said, biting your lip as you looked down at your feet, unable to hold her gaze anymore since you felt immense guilt for treating her the way you did.
You looked up when you felt her finger gently lift your gaze, gently running her thumb along your bottom lip, pulling it free from the confines of your teeth “You were hurting, yes I was hurting too but you were hurting more, I will always stick with you, we’ve been through so much for me to just give up on this when you’re in the worst pain imaginable, I love you and I will tell you that everyday until my last breath if I have to” she said softly, looking into your eyes that were now burning with tears once more, the two of you leaning in and sharing a soft kiss, this was a work in progress and both of you were determined to walk through this thing called life together.

“What hair product I think each svt member is”
Summery: a holiday fic that has absolutely nothing to do with the holidays! Wanted to try my hand at writing something a bit different and thought this was a good idea to start. Not really comedy but amusing none the less! (idk if what I wrote makes sense hopefully yall are picking up what I’m putting down) approximately: ten minute read
A/n: THIS IS NOT MY ORIGINAL IDEA! (In a way it is buuuutttt still) I can’t find the author who wrote the “what piece of furniture svt are” or something to that effect so they’re the ones who gave me the idea so if yall find them please tag them unless I do first!
warningz/info: mentions of pain, mentions of chocolate, I think what, three curse words? y'all let me know if I should start keeping them to a minimum or remove them entirely because I know some people are uncomfortable with them! I feel like the spacing between paragraphs is weird in this fic but oh well. no idea how this is gonna go over and im scared that I tagged it with "x reader". plus I dont know if anyone would read/enjoy it but I had loads of fun writing it! as always, if you did like it, please leave some love like comments and or reblogs!
~this is simply a piece of fiction. My imagination onto “paper. This is in no way is mean to be taken as an actual and real representation of anyone.~
•••••••••••••••••••
>Seungcheol<
gel. Sticks to you like glue once you find each other (romantic music starts playing in the hair care isle when you pick up your favorite gel) everyone has their preferred brand/ look they worship. Thicc. Either smells putrid and chemical like or good enough to transport you to a magical land of chocolate, pink grass and purple clouds
>Jeonghan<
he is a Bobby pin. And I will provide no further explanation on this except that he holds you together but will stab you lmao
>Shua<
an Afro pick/ hair pick. Its what everyone’s looking for: that little somen’ somen’. That little poof we all desire. Also scalp massages :)
>Jun<
wide tooth comb. My fellow thick haired/ curly haired people will know about this one 😭 this shit can be mean to your scalp tugging on your hair and UGH helps you greatly and is a necessity but damn… that’s all I gotta say
>Hoshi<
Refresher product/ moisture product. wakes you up in the morning. Gives you a reason to NOT look like you just rolled outta bed even though you did. For most this is one ofthe holy grails in life. What would I do without it? Makes us all smile even at 4:00 am because oh my god I look better after I slapped this in. Just all around a day-brightener
>Wonwoo<
curl cream. Grounding. Has many different looks n stuff
>Woozi<
a rat tail comb. Everyone should have one. Versatile, used for many different things. Good for every sort of job and is a natural to be honest and is small but mighty lol
>DK<
a satin/ silk bonnet. And no, not one of those that most  moms wear with the lace trim. Those end up at the foot of your bed by the morning. The ones with the thick elastic. I choose this cause it goes by many different names, just like him lol just has that comfy homey feel to it
>Mingyu<
hair mask. Made at home with some questionable ingredients. Seriously sometimes I don’t think he’s real lol
>Hao<
a denman brush. It sounds to helpful and great. And it is great!…. When you figure out how to use it. Hard to figure out but once you get the hang of it you’ll never go back (another thing my fellow curly haired babes will understand)
>Seungkwan<
co wash. A little something extra, a boost of energy, if you will. a well kept secret but also a well known fact
>Vernon<
hair tie. Easy to loose but also easy to find. especially in places where youd think: “why the fuck would it end up here?” Like idk man, but you should definitely check the dark corner collecting lint— that’s where they always are
>Dino<
leave in conditioner because with use over time it makes your hair (you) healthier
~End~

Leave me alone
Content warning: underage drug use (weed)
Aj x Reader (Angst/fluff or hurt/comfort)
Today was horrible. You woke up in pain, moving hurt, not moving hurt, just existing hurt. Unfortunately you had school which was boring and your cramps were killing you all day. On top of that you got partnered with the worst person in your class this stupid football boy that you knew wasn’t going to help you for this presentation that was worth 30% of your grade. Then throughout the day your friends kept asking if you’re ok, you honestly think Stacey asked you like 5 times which was annoying and if you were being honest with yourself you weren’t ok so every time you were asked you wanted to burst into tears. It was lunch time and you were way too nauseous to eat so you were just gonna go to the library when someone bumped into you causing you to drop all your stuff, you felt the tears welling up in your eyes, your lip started to tremble. Most people were out of the hallway when AJ entered and say you “Hey y/n, you ok love?” She asked seeing you on the floor trying to get all your stuff “I’m fine, go away” you said in an almost whisper “you don’t look fine” Aj said getting closer to you, you picked up your stuff frustrated “Leave me alone Aj!” You said about to sob the sadness present in your voice as you ran away from the track star trying to get to the nearest restroom to hopefully calm yourself. Just before you reached the restroom Aj stops you “y/n” she says pulling you in for a hug and you just start sobbing. You feel so safe in her arms, like it’s just the two of you alone in this world. The two of you just stand there for a while with her hugging you close and you sobbing your eyeballs out. “…’m sorry Aj” you say muffled do to your face being buried in Aj’s shoulder/chest “shh shh it’s ok I got you you don’t need to say sorry” Aj says rubbing your back. You sit up and rest your chin on Aj’s shoulder “today has been absolutely horrible” you say with a sigh “just one more class, ok? And if you want we can do something after school to take your mind off today” Aj says holding your shoulders gently “if you’re suggesting we get high and watch cartoons I’m down, my mom won’t be home until late and she doesn’t mind if I smoke as long as I’m safe” your mood shifting to a less sad slightly excited mood “oh yeah absolutely and we’re stoping to get food, my treat so don’t even think about trying to pay” Aj says grabbing your hand and walking you to your next class “oh how would I live without you” you say laughing a little. Your last class goes by quickly, Aj meets you at your locker after school “hey you ready to go?” Aj said leaning on your locker “yeah” you nod and grab her hand interlocking your fingers with hers while you two walk to your car. You guys went to a gas station to get snacks “pizza? or” Aj started to ask “pizza, definitely pizza” you interrupt her causing her to laugh a little “ok pizza it is” she orders the pizza so it will get there when you guys get to your house. You get to you house and take the snacks to your room when the door bell rings “pizza” Aj says leaving your room to get the pizza, you go in your closet to grab your bong and a few other things. “Ok cartoons, which one? I’m personally leaning towards amazing world of Gumball or SpongeBob?” “Ooo tough choices” you two decided on a show and started to smoke “ooo your weed is really good” Aj says after hitting the bong “the joys of having the coolest mom” you say opening a bag of chips. You guys spend the next hour or so smoking and giggling until your both high enough to feel like the room was melting and your body felt tingly “woah” you say laying on the floor Aj is just staring at the tv giggling every once in a while “pssst Aj” you said giggling a little “what?” She says turning to look at you “want ice cream?” You say sitting up a little “ooo yeah” the two of you head to the kitchen and get ice cream from the freezer “this was the best idea ever” Aj says sitting on the counter eating ice cream while you sat on the floor “I love ice cream” you and Aj went back to your room and laid in your bed staring at the ceiling and both fell asleep
______
A knock on your bedroom door woke the both of you “Y/n, I’m home” “hi mom, Aj’s here too you can come in” your mom comes in “hey girls” “hi Ms. (L/N)” Aj says sitting up “hi Aj, you two being responsible?” She says looking down at your bong on the floor “always” you say with a thumbs up “good, I’m gonna make dinner soon Aj will you be stay in with us?” Your mom asks “yeah, my parents are out of town and Gabi’s hanging out with Stacey” Aj says. Your mom loves having Aj around she like a daughter to her and really hopes you finally tell Aj about your feelings but doesn’t bring it up “Awesome I’ll be in the kitchen if you need me” you mom says leaving “bye mom, love you” “I love you too y/n” your mom says closing your door and heading to the kitchen “your mom is the best” Aj says leaning on you, both of you no longer high. There’s a semi uncomfortable silence bet you two “Um” you both says at the same time causing the two of you to laugh “you can go first” you say “ok um so we’re close right?” Aj asks kind of awkwardly “yeah I think so” you say thinking you know where this is going “um good friends right?” Aj asks “Aj what’s going on you’re being weird” “Y/n I like you” “oh thank goodness I thought I was going to have to make the first move that would’ve been-“ “can I kiss you?” Aj asks interrupting you “what?” You heard her but you were shocked “I said can I kiss you?” Aj said blushing a little “Yeah, I think I’d really like that actually” you say turning so you’re facing Aj completely, she gently grabs your cheek as you both lean in. The kiss was everything you were expecting, her lips were soft and so were her hands. You wrapped your arms around her bringing her in closer before you both pulled away for air “woah” Aj says “we should um do that again some time” you say blushing “how about right now?” Aj says with a slight smirk “oh ok um yeah, yeah” you say as you both lean in this kiss was different, more passionate, Aj pushed you back on the bed while kissing you, then you both pulled away from the kiss. “So girlfriends?” You ask “um yeah I think I’d like that” she says giving you a quick kiss and then a long hug “my beautiful girlfriend” Aj says with a smile and kisses your forehead. *knock* *knock* “Y/n, Aj foods ready when you are” your mom says after knocking on the door “ok mom we’ll be out right now” you pull Aj in for one more kiss “woah” Aj said blushing a lot “come on cutie let’s go” you grab Aj’s hand and go into the kitchen to eat dinner with your mom and Aj ends up spending the night , you two just cuddle and watch movies till you both fall asleep.
A/N: I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed writing it I real liked this one lol

Part Four: Winchester x Younger Sibling (OC)
uhhh here is another one hope you enjoy some fluff moment. and no i cannot think of a title for this chapter lol
Jamie’s x-rays came back. She had a cracked rib severely damaged lungs from the smoke she inhaled, and some serious bruising on her whole backside. There wasn’t a part of her back that wasn’t colored purple or black. The investigators were shocked at how she had incurred so much damage when her brothers and the neighbors made it out just fine, and how so much force could have been generated to cause that much damage. “A freak accident.” They called it.
“We want to keep her in overnight so we can monitor her. The amount of smoke she inhaled was way too concerning. The doctor is worried that she may not get enough oxygen in her brain.” The nurse said as she looked over Jamie’s chart. Her brothers listened intensely as their sister’s condition was broken down.
“She hit the car with force almost equivalent to a 15-foot fall. How you survived, can only be the work of God.” Her brother’s eyes went wide as they looked at their baby sister. “But I do need to ask her some private questions.”
She was just lying there. Her oxygen mask and a scowl as she stared out the window. She was still a mouse. Probably in too much pain to move. Sam left his brother’s side and sat in Jamie’s line of view.
“Hey, Dean and I are going to step outside while the nurse asks you some questions. Do you need anything?” Sam asked, placing a hand on his sister’s bruised one. Jamie slowly turned to make eye contact with her brother. She was exhausted and she couldn’t even make a joke if she wanted to.
It was taking everything she had to keep herself from balling. Her back stung, her throat burned, and her eyes twitched with dryness. She couldn’t even feel the bed she was on.
“Cream soda.”
Dean couldn’t help but scoff at his sister. Sam chuckled and nodded.
“No problem kiddo.” He answered, shaking his head and standing up. The brothers looked at their sister one last time before walking out at shutting the door behind them.
“I’m gonna find whatever did this to her and kill it.” Dean scowled. Sam could tell he was beating himself up.
“We don’t even know what happened. It was like a freak accident.” Sam responded, racking his brain, trying to focus on anything other than the memory of Jess and Jamie’s screams. They walked down the hallway, in search of the vending machine.
“Well, It’s a good thing that’s our specialty. When she called me, Sam. I saw it. The smoke from the house attacked- it outright attacked her. We heard the thud. There is no way something other than the supernatural did this. You saw how the fire started.” Dean said as he looked down the halls they passed.
“Yeah, but I’ve never heard of smoke attacking someone. Jess died just like mom…” he paused. “But Jamie, she should have made it out, I could have sworn she was right behind us.” He muttered.
“I know, but you know her, she never follows orders,” Dean muttered as he approached the vending machine and searched for his sister’s drink.
“Dean, if she hadn’t done what she did more people might have died.”
Dean watched as the soda fell to the bottom. The sound of the metal clanging reminded him too much of the crunch he heard when Jamie hit the Impala. He gritted his teeth and looked at his brother. He felt useless.
The boys returned and the nurse was long gone, having left Jamie with some water and some applesauce. She was still sitting up but had more pillows and there were fresh bandages wrapped around her neck, they hadn't been there before.
“What’s with the neck?” Sam asked, popping it open and handing it to her. With a shaky hand, she grabbed it and took a large gulp and another. Her brothers watched in fascination as she chugged the carbonated drink like a college kid, she just wasn’t able to crush the can in victory.
“Tha-buuuuuuuuuuuurrrP- nk you.”
Sam and Dean couldn't help but smile at their gross little sister. Dean moved around Sam and sat down next to his sister. He pointed at her neck with his eyes.
“yeah, that wasn’t there when we left.” He had that gentle smile on his face, the one he used when he wanted answers.
“Uhm, I’m not sure. The nurse and I were talking and then my neck started hurting. She took a look, called in the doctor and they wrapped it up.” Jamie said. This was not a satisfactory answer for her brother.
“There is nothing in your chart about it either,” Sam said as he read over the clipboard that hung on the edge of her bed.
“Sammy, go find the doctor,” Dean said not taking his eyes off his sister.
“Let me take a look sweetie,” Dean said, reaching forward as his brother left to find the doctor.
“Dean, we need to talk-”
“After you get better, James,” Dean said gently, he knew his sister was too tired to argue with him like she usually did, even if she wasn't showing it. Dean reached for her neck, gently unwrapping the thick bandages. He cringed as Jamie winced. Whatever was under there was already drying up.
"Weird," he muttered to himself. Dean had seen a lot of weird injuries, scrapes, cuts, and burns, if they weren't fatal they usually took longer than a few minutes to get as dry as this one seemed to be.
Jamie didn’t argue and looked up. Letting her brother look at whatever was on her neck. Dean hardly ever called her ‘James.’ It was something their father and Bobby joked about when they were younger. There wasn't a specific reason why they called her anything. Just comes with being the baby sister.
Dean only used it when he wasn’t going to put up with an argument of any kind. To Jamie, it was weird, she didn't like being called James.
“Do you know what this is?” Dean asked as he stared at the open wounds on his sister’s neck.
“They said it was some kind of reaction to the smoke, they said it should disappear after it closes up,” Jamie said. “But Dean, we need to talk about what happened on the stairs before Sammy comes back.”
Dean rewrapped the bandages and put his hands in his lap. His face was serious, no smirks, no jokes to crack.
“Yes, we do. Tell me what you saw.”
“I saw Jess,” Jamie confessed. Her voice was still raw but she could speak enough to tell her brother.
Dean’s eyebrows raised as he leaned in to listen.
“You saw Jess? That’s impossible. She was on the ceiling, Jamie. Burning alive.” Dean said, eyes wide and brows furrowed.
“After I banged on the doors, the fire started spreading or something because the house just filled up with smoke, I couldn’t breathe, I could barely see. I was on the stairs and I heard someone call my name.”
“Who was it?” Dean asked, leaning forward with a serious glint in his eyes. Jamie could tell Dean was moments away from boiling over. The pot of emotions that brewed inside him was reaching peak heat.
Dean listened as his sister spoke, making sure to watch the heart monitor behind her as she spoke. He watched as the numbers began to rise while she explained what had happened.
“Jess. Or her body, it was talking to me. She called my name, and there was the smoke behind her. Dean. When we first met her I had a bad feeling, but she did something, she sent that smoke after me. She made it throw me into the car. It was like she was trying to ki-”
“Jamie, it’s okay. You are safe. I’m right here.” Dean said as her heart monitors started to slow back down again. He sat up and sat on the edge of the bed.
“Dean, she was trying to kill me. I could feel it. She was true evil.” Jamie finished, tearing up. “And I- I can’t tell Sammy. I can stain his memory like that.”
“It’s okay, June Bug. You’re big brother’s got you. Sammy will be okay, we all will. We will find Dad and we will be together again,” he soothed, gently rubbing her palm, avoiding the bruises on her knuckles.
“And I’m sorry about the car.” She sniffled out. Dean cooed and dried her tears.
“Don’t worry about the car. I’ll fix it. I will fix all of it.”
Jamie had fallen asleep in her brother’s arms, watching the news on the hospital TV. Sam came back just as she had fallen asleep. She was leaning on Dean he relaxed next to her. Legs crossed and arms around his sister.
“Good news, the doctor said it sprouted up when we were gone. Said it shouldn’t be too serious, just inflammation of the skin. How is she feeling?” Sam asked, handing his brother a cup of coffee and taking a seat.
“She will be okay,” Dean said, taking a drink from the cup.
“Should we call Bobby?” Sam asked, taking a drink of the coffee and leaning back.
“No, we need to make sure Jamie is okay and keep moving. Once she is cleared we are out of here. Hospitals give me the creeps.” He felt a shiver crawl up his spine but he refused to move.
Sam stared at his siblings. Jamie, is asleep, half leaning on Dean’s side and peacefully breathing. Sam hated seeing that tube around her face. Hearing the beats of her heart monitor. He couldn’t help but think to that moment, how he could saved Jess and he could saved Jamie.
Dean looked serious. He hadn’t seen that look in Dean’s eyes since they were kids. He grimaced and looked out the window to his side.
“One more job.”

It had been just over a month since Embry and I broke up, and nearly two weeks since we had last seen each other.
On the morning of February thirteenth, I stumbled in late to the small hotel room the girls had booked for the morning to assist Kim on the finishing touches for her big day. Being as handy as I was with a makeup brush, Kim had all but insisted that I work my magic on everyone’s face. There were many things I admired about Kim - her big round eyes, her full pouty lips and beautifully square jaw. Carving her cheekbones and highlighting her face were easy - filling her eyes with a subtle smokey look was what proved to be most difficult.
After forty-five minutes of collective giggles and perfecting her eyeliner, I had just secured the inner corner of the false lashes to Kim’s lash line and stepped back with a proud smile. “You look seriously hot.” I declared, turning Kim to face the gigantic mirror in the bathroom. “He’s gonna lose it.”
Kim leaned forward in awe, gently touching her cheek so that she wouldn’t smudge her blush. “I feel like I’m wearing face paint.”
“You are,” I said, then tilted my head to the side as I twirled a loose curl around my finger to reposition the ringlet, “kind of. It always feels too cakey, but I promise it looks completely natural.”
“And you swear I look good?”
“You definitely take the cake.”
We shared smiles in the mirror, and I leaned forward to hug my small arms around Kim’s shoulder as Emily snapped a photo from behind us. As Emily helped re-curl fallen strands of hair, I put in work on my face. I tried to die it down, opting for less glitter and more brown to help bring my eyes out. As much as I might have wanted to glam up, I couldn’t find the heart to take away from the effort I had put into Kim’s look. Once I was finished, I pulled my hair from its twisted bun, letting the strands fall in loose curls, and pinned the sides together in the back with a cream rose clip.
“Do you need help?” Emily asked quietly, offering to slip the strap over my arm to rest on my shoulder. “Does it still hurt?”
I shook my head, smiling up at Emily in the mirror. “Not so much. My mom said it was pretty much healed, just to take it easy for a while.”
“That’s good.” She smiled, rubbing her smooth hands over my arms. “Are you going to be okay for today? With Embry and the wedding?”
I already considered that this particular event was going to be difficult for the two of us. We originally planned to go together, we were part of the wedding party, so naturally it had made sense for us to walk down the aisle together, to stand next to each other in the photos. Embry previously mentioned to me how he wouldn’t be able to look at anyone but me during the ceremony, had sworn that the entire time he’d be picturing me in a white dress – to which I had responded that he was completely insane, but kissed him regardless.
“Yeah,” I forced a smile, nodding my head deliberately, “it’ll be fine.”
“It better be fine - no drama today please and thank you.” Kim’s voice travelled in from the main room, causing Emily and I to roll our eyes in unison. “I love y’all to bits and pieces, but if either of you pull any shit, I swear to god I’ll remove you.”

Seth and Embry exited the elevator when the doors opened, their eyes glancing around the main entrance to the hall as guests piled in from the rain outside. His eyes scanned the crowd, landing on Ainsley’s siblings standing with their father and her mother, next to Billy and Sue. Trent looked over his shoulder at Embry, and offered a limp smile as he wrapped a single arm around Leah’s shoulders.
“Is she wearing a dress?” Quil asked from the other side of Embry, trying to keep his voice hushed.
Seth rolled his eyes. “Just because she’s a pain in the ass doesn’t mean she isn’t allowed to be feminine, jackass.” He grumbled.
Embry didn’t really need to stand on his tip toes, or crane his neck – he already towered over most of the crowd, being one of the tallest in his set of brother’s definitely came with a few perks. He never had issues with people at movies (so long as no one sat directly behind him), he was always able to see the stages at concerts and festivals in the area and usually had zero problems finding people in crowds.
Unless you were Ainsley, and happened to be five foot flat while everyone else towered over you, in which case it was damn near impossible.
“Dammit,” he growled, returning his eyes to the main foyer for the sixth time.
“Ease up,” Seth demanded quietly, placing a firm hand on Embry’s shoulder, “she’s here.”
“It’s been two weeks.”
“And you’ll see her, dude.”
Embry pressed his lips in a firm line, letting the breath he had been holding out slowly. “Do you know which one’s Kira?” He asked absently.
Quil looked at Seth and shrugged. “Not a clue – although I hear she looks almost exactly like Ainsley, only taller and with brown eyes.” Kira was the last minute maid of honor for Kim – they hadn’t spoken in years, and Jared had insisted that Kim do right by their loyalty and family to put her in the wedding party. Which meant Embry would be walking with Kira instead of Ainsley, like they originally planned.
“Lookin’ good, fellas.” Jacob smirked, patting Quil on the back roughly as he joined the group near the elevators. “Anyone seen Sam?”
“He’s probably still upstairs with Jared.” Quil mumbled, fidgeting with his tie.
“Jared’s having a meltdown, dude.” Seth snickered, shoving his hands into his pockets lazily. “Sweating balls and everything.”
Embry shot him a glare, returning his eyes to the crowd in another last-ditch effort to find a pretty girl in a pale pink dress. “He’s looking for Ainsley.” Seth explained to Jacob.
“She hasn’t talked to you yet?”
“No, asshat, she hasn’t.”
Jacob held his hands up, raising his brows. “Woah – I didn’t know.” He said quickly, his eyes following Embry’s to scan through the guests filing into the main hall. “It’s been a month – have you tried going to see her?”
“She’s never home.” He mumbled quietly. “And Travis slams the door in my face instead of actually answering any of my questions.”
“What about Trent?”
“They’re on the outs, too. Says he barely sees her anymore since they had an argument. She comes home late, leaves early – should I be worried? Do you think she’s okay?”
“Maybe you could just try establishing a friendship?” Jacob grimaced, adjusting the tie around his neck. “I don’t know. She’s being ridiculous.”
“That’s your opinion.” A small voice came from behind the group; simultaneously, the boys turned to look down to where Emily and Ainsley stood, arms linked together as they moved out of the elevator. Embry’s throat tightened, eyes fixated on her face as he swallowed and felt his body reignite with a warmth he hadn’t felt in weeks. “You clean up well,” she mused, her big blue eyes scanning their tight-fitted suits.
“Ains -” He tried, his voice cracking just the slightest. He cleared his throat, internally screaming at his lack of ability to speak. She was there – right in front of him, and he couldn’t find a voice. At all.
Dammit.
“I see your mother over there – let’s go say hello before the procession begins.” Emily suggested, glancing between Ainsley and Embry slowly. He wanted to stop her from leaving, wanted to wrap his arms around her shoulders and compress her to his body.
“Hey -” just as Ainsley slipped past him, he reached out and caught her wrist gently, using his fingers to turn her slightly, “you look beautiful.” He said quietly, offering her a big smile.
He half expected her to recoil, or flinch, or even get upset with him. Instead, she smiled thankfully and flipped her hand to grab his, giving his digits a tight squeeze as she smiled. “You too.” She teased lightly, turning to follow Emily to where her parents stood.
It took Embry an unbelievable amount of willpower to let her hand go. He watched her mother give a large gasp, holding her daughter out at arm’s length before she pulled her into a tight hug and kissed her head.
“That seemed promising.” Seth mused quietly, nudging Embry with his elbow.
“Switch spots with me.” He demanded, turning to his brother with a small smile.
Seth’s brows pulled together, “What?”
“Switch spots with me - in the procession.”
“What? Dude, no – we can’t just switch spots.”
“But you’re walking with Ainsley.” He nearly whined, looking back over to where she stood with Travis, awkwardly avoiding Trenton and Leah. “C’mon, do me a solid.”
Quil laughed from beside Embry as he shook his head, “Kim wouldn’t let you out of here alive if you mess with her arrangements.” He pointed out, “And you kinda need to be alive if you plan on getting back into her good graces.” Quil tilted his head towards Ainsley. “Besides - Kira’s kinda hot.”
Embry deadpanned, narrowing his eyes at Quil, “That’s not even funny - first of all, she’s a Black cousin, which means she’s Ainsley’s cousin. Second of all - fuck you.”
“Be nice.” Sam chided from behind the group, his hand automatically reaching up to smack Embry upside his head lightly. “Jacob and I are going inside - can I trust you three to behave yourselves for five minutes?” Jacob smirked, following Sam as he linked arms with Emily and brought her into the main hall. The guests were settling into their respective seats, the bridesmaids were beginning to line up outside of the doors to the aisle.
The elevator doors opened, revealing a very white, very glitzed Kim. Her doe eyes were wide and focused on the boys, giving them a curt nod in approval. “No visible stains, no tears - well done, boys.” She teased, picking the front of her strapless ballgown up as she moved towards them.
Embry leaned down, pressing a quick kiss to her cheek with a genuine smile. “You’re gonna break his damn heart, you know that?”
Kim lifted her chin, her smile breaking across her pink-painted lips in complete confidence. “I know.”
“It’s showtime boys,” Seth said excitedly, rubbing his hands together. Embry looked over to where Kira stood and tried to keep any visible disappointment from his face; he joined her at her side, and offered her his arm. She did look nearly identical to Ainsley; but from what Embry could tell, she wasn’t nearly as beautiful. In fact, he thought she was trying too hard.
From somewhere behind him, he heard Leah groan. “Don’t be gross, Quil.”
He narrowed his hearing, focusing on the quiet murmurs of Seth and Ainsley behind him, “You look nervous - are you nervous?”
“No? Why?”
“Your heart’s beating really fast.”
Her heart stuttered. “Just trying not to think about falling on my face, that’s all.” She lied. Embry tried to keep a smile off his face regardless - it was cute that she still tried.
The next hour dragged by -  Embry stood at the front of the hall behind Paul, his eyes secured on Ainsley so intently that he almost missed his cue to provide the pastor with the rings. She looked absolutely gorgeous. Her eyes would glisten ever so often, watching the way Jared and Kim quietly joked with each other in between their turns to speak. Jared’s vows brought her into straight tears, to which she didn’t even bother trying to conceal or wipe her eyes free of them. When the bride and groom finally said their ‘I do’s’ and kissed, the hall erupted in cheers and applause.
The group up front followed the newlyweds out of the hall into a side room where the photographer had been set up. Kim’s parents had paid good money to have professional wedding portraits done of the wedding party - and Embry’s palms were sweating as he began to think about having every photo taken with Kira - and having to watch Seth pose with Ainsley.
He jogged up to where Jared and Kim stood, “Can we make a slight change in some of the photos?”
Kim’s eyes narrowed into slits. “Don’t push it, Emb.”
“I’m not - it’s just -” he sighed heavily, dropping his voice into a whisper, “these photos are sort of permanent and are likely going to be plastered all over your apartment and online. I’d prefer not to have to look at Ainsley and Seth wrapped up in each other all the time -”
“Okay, your jealousy is literally the last thing on my list of priorities right now.” Kim growled, pointing her finger at Embry’s chest. When his face fell visibly, and Jared tugged on her wrist lightly and offered her a concerned look on behalf of his friend, she sighed angrily and dropped her hand. “Fine. But if she gets pissed, I’m throwing you under the bus.”
“Thanks Kim.” He beamed, crushing her to his chest in a tight hug.
One by one they had their portraits taken individually. Most of the photos started with the bride and groom, which turned into all the groomsmen with Jared, and then all of the bridesmaids with Kim. Embry watched Ainsley laugh with Kim, the pair looking very different than the other girls in the group. There was a certain level of maturity in their stance, their eyes careful and warm. When the groups had to merge together for photos, Kim turned to her friend quickly, whispered something in her ear and watched Ainsley glance at him.
“Oh really?” She asked wearily; Embry’s face lit up with heat.
She hadn’t completely objected. They took most of their photos the way the photographer planned - maid of honor and best man together beside the newlyweds, and every other member of the wedding party would follow on either side. Seth and Ainsley fit comfortably together next to Embry and Kira - Embry begrudgingly wrapped his arms around Kira’s waist and forced a smile.
Three photos later, Kira backed a little closer into Embry’s frame.
It wasn’t until the photographer mentioned something about free shots that he broke away from Kira with an impish smile and turned to Ainsley, cocking his head towards the set up. “Would you mind?”
Ainsley hesitated, chewing on her lower lip as she looked past his frame towards the photographer. “Are you sure this is a good idea?”
“Do you really not want to take a photo with me?” He asked, trying to keep the disappointment from his face. The more he pushed to be near her, the more glaringly aware he became that Ainsley simply wasn’t interested in reconciling with him. Guess the whole soulmate thing really is a load of crap. “One photo - and I promise I’ll leave you alone for the rest of the night.”
“Fine,” she sighed, standing from her chair, leaving her glass of wine at the table, “we can show up Quil and Leah.”
Embry pulled her onto the set, unsure of exactly what he was supposed to do. When the photographer looked up from his camera with Kim, he smiled excitedly and nodded, “Yes. You two,” He clapped, moving forward quickly, “Are a stunning pair - stand here,” he instructed, pulling Embry into the center, “and you, here.” He pushed Ainsley into Embry’s chest. They stared at each other, their faces resembling very similar confusion. “Now, if you two could look a little less mortified - that would be great.”
Ainsley laughed quietly, placing her hands on Embry’s chest slowly as he wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her close to his frame. “Emb.” She warned quietly, turning her head towards the photographer.
He leaned down into her ear. “I get to hold you for about sixty seconds - I’m gonna take full advantage of it.” Embry squeezed her sides before he secured his hands behind her back and stood up straight. The pair shifted into various different poses, mentioning something to Kim about letting her choose whichever she wanted to be printed and added to the CD he would send her.
As soon as they were finished, Embry reluctantly released his grip and took a step back, smiling down at Ainsley sheepishly. “Thank you.” He mouthed as she shook her head slightly. He turned to Quil, who had handed him his glass of wine. Embry took it, tilted his head back and downed the contents of the tall glass quickly before he pried Jared’s glass from his fingertips and drank his as well.
“Woah,” Jacob mumbled, watching Embry carefully, “I take it things are going well?”
“Nope.” Embry grumbled, setting both empty glasses down on the table. “But we don’t care.” He stated.
“Right.” Jacob nodded, following Embry and Quil out of the room towards the main hall - which had been shifted into the dining area in their time away from the rest of the guests.
Embry beelined for the bar - leaving his brothers to watch him with slight concern from their table across the room.
𝙰𝚒𝚗𝚜𝚕𝚎𝚢
I sat at the table next to Travis, the two of us picking between desserts we had pulled onto plates from the buffet.
“Try the chocolate one.” He said around a mouthful, leaning back in his seat with a quiet moan, “Fucking delicious.”
I reached forward for his plate, fingers gently pulling the bite-size brownie to my lips. I popped it into my mouth and chewed thoughtfully, nodding when my teeth slid through the creamy center. “Oh yeah, that’s the good stuff.” I mumbled.
We went on like that for an hour, both unwilling to dance or drink as we had driven ourselves. This was the first time in our lives that we were stuck to the hip – typically Trent and I spent most of our time together, but it was very clear that he was making an effort to keep distance.
“Are you gonna stop being mad at him?” Travis asked suddenly, following my eyes to where our brother twirled Leah.
“Eventually.” I promised, taking another sip of my sparkling water. “I’m just kind of over the whole happy couple thing – it’s bad enough dealing with Kim and Jared and this god forsaken wedding.”
Travis sneered, his eyes following a pretty blonde as she passed. “Hey, sis –”
“Just go.” I waved, shaking my head when he smiled devilishly and sprang from his chair to follow the girl.
I spent a lot of my night seated alone at the table, watching the boys crack jokes and laugh together. Embry’s suit fit him perfectly, gripping onto the muscle just enough to give the general public an idea of what kind of body he hid under all of the clothing. I admired the way his smile seemed to light up his whole face, his neck flushed slightly with the amount of alcohol he had consumed.
Maybe I should apologize , I thought to myself, folding my legs at the ankles. The longer I stared at him, the more my chest tightened. It was overwhelming – being in the same room without being able to touch him, to kiss him. God, how I wanted to kiss him – I wanted to run my fingers through his hair, I wanted to taste him on my tongue. I missed his heat.
I started thinking about all the reasons why I had fallen in love with Embry to begin with – apart from the obvious. He always made an effort to take the time to learn what I loved - like my schooling. He tried his best to make sure I was safe and comfortable. Embry had fallen in love with the little things about me that I seemed to hate – the scars on my stomach from my incident seemed to be his favourite untold story. He never pressed or asked questions, simply kissed them and reminded me that I was beautiful.
And he made me believe that. On any given day, I did not consider myself to be a particularly beautiful person. Pretty, sure. I had admirable traits I was sure made me pretty. My eyes were always nice, people had constantly complimented me on them. I had clear skin – never experienced any horrible acne. My weight fluctuated, but was mainly consistent. My curves weren’t insane, my breasts weren’t very large - for the most part, I was very girl next door. But Embry had a way of looking at me that made me feel like I was literally a Goddess. It didn’t matter if I was bloated, or covered in food. Didn’t matter if I was crying or overly happy – to Embry, I was always more beautiful than the day before and I loved how beautiful I felt when I was with him.
He gave me confidence, and because of him, I loved myself better.
I contemplated walking over to where he sat, thought about grabbing his hand and pulling him onto the dancefloor. I thought about interrupting his words with my lips, thought about pulling him down to me by the tie - which led me to think about bringing him home to have him use the tie for ulterior motives.
I watched Embry stand, his eyes slightly glazed over as he glanced in my general direction. I smiled.
My heart swelled in my chest as he made his way across the room, making visible effort to keep upright and straight faced as he swaggered towards me; his smile was coy, his shoulders were thrown back, and he resembled more of Paul than he did himself. Perhaps he had been thinking the same as I, maybe Embry was sick of giving me space. In the last few days, I wished he had made more of an effort to talk to me. For the most part, he had given up completely – he stopped trying to contact me, stopped having Emily bring me messages on his behalf, stopped coming by the house.
I had started to move, unfolding my legs so that I could stand when he finally reached me but stopped short as I watched him pause at the table next to me; he leaned down behind one of the girls that had been seated all night, in her ear talking briefly before she stood to follow him towards the dance floor. My heart sunk.
I averted my eyes quickly, pulling them back to the empty plate in front of me as I recrossed my legs and leaned forward on my elbows, using my hands to casually rub my neck. I tried very hard not to look up to see where they were; Embry and I hadn’t ever shared a dance, and truthfully, despite the falling out, I had been looking forward to be thwarted into at least one. I pressed my lips together, feeling the sadness overwhelm my chest and throat. The burning sensation forced my eyes shut, my head falling into my palms.
There was a part of me that told me to be angry. To get angry. To rekindle the reasons why I had decided he wasn’t good for me - why we were better apart. That the fear he would leave me for someone more beautiful, someone more his type was not for nothing. That I should kick and scream. Then, the part of me that wanted me to be small pulled her in; I lifted my head, trying to keep any emotion off my face as I sat upright and back in my seat. My shoulders squared, my chin lifted and I drew in a deep breath.
My eyes fixated on the pair. Despite how miserable I felt, despite how often I believed everyone when they said Embry was just as heartbroken as I was, I couldn’t see it. Not with his loose hips, not with his friendly smile, not with the laugh that broke over the music.
Guess the whole soulmate thing really was a load of crap.
Song after song, I watched couples dance. I had almost given up for the evening – I started to stand, forcing my feet to move when I heard the voice behind me. “Leaving already?” Seth asked, gripping the back of my chair.
I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear and shrugged. “I open at Shaker’s tomorrow,” I looked over my shoulder quickly and then sighed, “it’s better if I just go now.”
The familiar voice that belonged to one of Embry’s favourite artists quietly streamed through the speakers – Seth offered me a smile and held out his hand, “C’mon. You can’t leave until you have danced at least once.”
“I don’t dance, Seth.”
“Neither do I,” he replied, grabbing my hand to pull me towards the dancefloor, “but I know you can lead better than anyone.”
I laughed once, wiping under my eyes with my free hand as I trailed along behind Seth lazily. My feet hurt from the heels, and my body was tired and sore. He pulled us past the circle of his brothers, bypassing their confused stares. He settled on one of the outter corners, away from the majority of the guests and their swaying bodies; when he turned, he wrapped an easy arm around my waist, the other pulling my hand up in his.
“One dance?” I asked, gripping his hand a little tighter as my arm came up to rest on his shoulder.
“One dance.” He promised, twirling me quickly. I laughed again, settling against his body heat comfortably. We moved in easy, slow circles. Seth asked about Maddox – small things, like what his progress had been like, if the Cullen’s felt confident with where he was, things like that. I appreciated that Seth was less like the others – less driven by whatever animal part of him existed.
“They were human, too.” He said, his face pulling into a frown. “Not all of them made that choice, you know? It’s hard to think that sometimes we kill people that didn’t ask for that kind of life. We just assume.”
I appreciated everything each of Embry’s brothers had offered – but I loved Seth the most. He had a genuine heart, much like Emily, but was still a beautiful mix of attitude and fierce passion like the remainder of his brothers. Well balanced, well rounded – an outstanding individual all around. Under different circumstances, I might’ve seen myself developing a rather large, obvious crush on him.
In this moment, I merely appreciated how much of a friend he was. Being one of the few people that preferred to not inquire about Embry, went out of his way to make me feel comfortable, I could safely say that Seth was one of my closest friends since my run in with the boys.
When the song ended, and several couples returned to their seats, I looked up at his towering frame with a sad smile and shrugged. “That’s your one.”
“Drive safe, okay?” He asked, hugging my body to his large frame.
I nodded against his stomach, squeezing his body in my arms as tightly as I could before I released him and stepped around him towards the door. I glanced over her shoulder once to where Kim danced with Jared, the pair completely oblivious to the world around them; the pack danced around them, the group looked completely at ease. Everyone they needed surrounded the happy couple.
That feeling returned – the one where I felt as though I never really belonged. The one where I felt as though I were intruding on a family – a family that didn’t need my presence to be complete. I clenched my jaw tightly, grabbing my jacket from the main entrance before pushing through the doors out into the whirling snow. I bounced towards the Jeep, pulling my coat tightly around my frame as I unlocked the door and slipped inside, cranking the heat as high as it would go.
The rain had covered the roads in slick ice; I drove as carefully as I could. Icicles hung off my side mirrors, and each time I could see the trees bend visibly in the wind, I would shiver involuntarily. “I hate the winter.” I muttered to myself, watching the gas light on my car blink angrily in the dark cab. I sighed, watching each passing sign on my way through the streets of Seattle, hoping to pass a gas station before I hit the highway towards the reservation.
The light suddenly disappeared; I felt the heat instantly shut off, which was followed by the slow descent in speed.
“No,” I said quietly, hitting the dashboard as I pulled the wheel to the right to bring the car to the curb. I turned the key, listening to the engine rev but the car never restarted. “No!” I cried, banging my fists on the wheel.
I zipped my coat up to my neck, pulling my phone out of the clutch I had brought with me to the wedding; no service. “Are you kidding me?” I hissed to myself, looking around the road. There were no visible lights from what I could see, mainly just darkness and the trees blowing in the wind. I locked the doors and returned my phone to the glove compartment.
Someone would pass - I wasn’t too far out of the way.
Nearly half an hour had gone by; no one had yet come down the road. The warmth in the vehicle was no longer existent - which meant my small frame began to shiver uncontrollably as I waited in the front seat for someone to come along. I stared straight forward, tired eyes determined to catch the slightest glimpse of any sort of light. It was nearly eleven –  which meant the outside temperature was likely hitting below ten degrees. I rocked back and forth slowly, pulling my arms through the sleeves of my jacket.
“Think warm things.” I muttered to myself, closing my eyes tightly. Warm things.
A sunny beach I had yet had the pleasure of experiencing – although I had imagined a thousand times how hot the sand would be under my feet, how wonderful the sun would feel against my skin. I imagined sipping on a steaming cup of coffee first thing in the morning. I imagined Embry’s warmth – the searing heat that never seemed to burn me, no matter how warm I was. No matter how painful it should’ve been.
“You’re gonna be okay.” I mumbled to myself. “Someone will find you.”
After what felt like an eternity later, I heard a faint tap on my window. I jumped slightly, pressing my hand to my heart under my coat. I sighed loudly, looking through the glass at the gentleman that held a phone up. The light illuminated his face enough; his dark eyes complimented the blonde hair on his head, and he knocked on the glass again.
I rolled the window down. “Thank god.”
“Broke down?” He asked, looking around the Jeep’s cab.
I nodded, laughing slightly. “Yeah, I don’t really know what happened.” I admitted, slipping my arms through the sleeves on my jacket as I unfastened my seatbelt. “I’ve been here for an hour.”
“No kidding,” he raised his brows, “would you like a lift into town? Get you out of the cold?”
I felt a breath of relief, and nodded. “Yes please.” I nodded again, pulling the window up on my Jeep. I exited the car, shoving my hands into my pockets as I followed the man to the silver Honda parked behind me. “I’m sorry, I didn’t catch your name,” I mused finally, settling into his passenger seat, “I’m Ainsley.”
“Garrett.”
I froze, my eyes glued to my lap as I slowly let the seat belt click.
“Garrett.” I repeated quietly, rearing my thoughts back through my previous conversations. The odds were slim – but I was in Seattle, and it would be just my luck –
A cloth pressed to my mouth quickly then, hands collapsing around either side of my head to hold it in place when I attempted to reach up to try and pry his hand away from my face. The scream built in my throat, muffled around the fabric as the stench filled my nostrils: my lungs burned. I reached for the door, pushing it open for the slightest second before it was pulled shut again. This time when I met Garrett’s eyes, I saw the red hue underlying in the darkness.
My limbs began to go numb, the nausea in my stomach wrenching. Desperate for air, I inhaled as much as I could; the spinning made my eyes weary, and eventually I fell limp, praying that someone would find me sooner rather than later.

adorable fluff about andy barber coming home from hard day of work and seeing his newly pregnant wife helping jacob with his homework, Laura is in jail. Wife reader used to be a highschool teacher
Finally Happy Again- Andy Barber teacher wife! xreader fan fic request
Tumblr media
Summary: Andy thinks about his past with Laurie during work and comes home to his current pregnant wife helping his son with homework and loves coming home to them
Warnings: flashbacks, angst, mentions of past life, mentions of divorce, mentions of self doubt, fluff, pregnant wife, a lot of fluff, let me know if I missed anything
After everything Jacob and I went through with my ex wife Laurie I never thought I’d find love again and I wanted Jacob to have a mom figure in life and it took a while but I finally had found someone a few years later and of course I felt really guilty about it at first and didn’t do anything about how I felt but after the divorce I knew I needed to move on and with Laurie in jail I needed a better for my son too.
I had too much on my mind during work and I needed to go home & decided to take the rest of the day off and drove home and I pulled up to the house and I walked in the door to see my wife Y/N helping Jacob with his homework and since she use to be a teacher at a school she gave him a lot of insight and his grades have been improving from what she’s taught him and I loved that she’s been treating Jake as her own.
I loved watching them work and I walked over and said “hey you two! how’s the homework coming??” Y/N smiled at me and said “Jacob is doing great babe! He’s gonna ace that English test this week I know it.” I knelt down by Y/N and softly touched her stomach and said “how’s our baby in there doing?” Y/N touched my hand with hers and said “she is doing just fine honey don’t worry the doctor recently said everything is going well Andy.” I kissed her forehead and said “good I’m glad & how is my wife doing?” She blushed and said “good now that you’re home- wait you’re home early are you ok?” I love this woman so much and how she cares for others.
I rubbed her back and said “I’m fine honey just wanted to come home early today & be with my family that’s all.” Jacob said “dad guess what?” I looked over at Jake and said “yes son? What’s up buddy?” Jacob pulled out a paper and handed it to me and I opened it and I said “B + on your math test? Wow that’s awesome great job Jake I’m proud of you, this calls for a celebration!”
Y/N put her hands on her stomach and breathed a bit funny like she was in pain and I went over to her and said “hey sweetheart what’s wrong is it the baby?!” She shook her head and said “yea the baby is just kicking Andy it’s ok she’s quite a kicker.” I put my hand on hers to feel it and I felt a kick at my hand and looked at her feeling so happy and said “wow!.. I bet she’s gonna be in sports.”
Jacob said “can I help name the baby?” Y/N looked over at him and smiled saying “of course kiddo I would love that thank you.” I patted Jake’s back and said “thank you buddy that means a lot to me and her more than you know, now let’s go out for some ice cream hmm?” Jacob said “yea for sure let me just clean up everything and thanks again Mo-Y/N for helping me again I appreciate it.”
Jacob left the room and I felt so guilty and I looked down and Y/N put her hand on my cheek and said “babe hey it’s ok, it’s not your fault Andy you’re doing a great job with him.” I smiled at her and said “I love you honey more than you know thank you for everything you do for him.” Y/N smiled and said “of course, I love spending time with him.” Jacob came back and said “ready?” I got up and grabbed my coat and said “absolutely!”
All of us went out to go have ice cream and Jacob told us jokes and we laughed and we talked about the baby and the future and I couldn’t help but love how my wife accepted my son and I and I finally felt like I was happy again, first time in a long time.

Richie never really understood Eddie’s germaphobe habits, but he never made a fuss about it, always supportive, jokingly or seriously. He didn’t realize just how supportive he was being until he accidentally picked up a few habits from the germaphobe, and found himself freaking out over getting tetanus after accidentally cutting himself on the rusted edge of an arcade game.
His first thought was how the fuck did the stupid game get exposed to water to the point it rusted over, and his second thought was his immediate peril. He stared at his bleeding hand for a few moments before darting to Bev and Ben, who were currently playing PAC-MAN together.
“Guys. Guys. Guys.”
“What?”
“I cut my hand.” This brought forth Ben’s attention.
“On what man? We’re in an arcade.”
“I know! The game was rusted. I’m gonna get tetanus.”
“Richie, you sound like Eddie.” Richie’s mouth opened and then shut, turning on Bev. Bev didn’t even look at him. “And you’ll be fine man. After what happened with ole clown boy I think our immune systems are invincible.” Richie wasn’t convinced by this information, scanning the arcade and rushing up to Eddie and Stanley, who were sat on a bench and clearly didn’t care for arcade games.
“Spaghetti, I cut my hand,” Richie informed instantly, and Eddie stood fast, hand already on the zipper of his Fanny pack. Richie caught Stan’s eyes roll at Eddie’s quickness, but ignored it.
“On what?” Eddie asked as he unzipped his pack.
“Rusty corner of an arcade game,” Richie admitted, watching Eddie scowl in disgust before taking Richie’s hand in his. Richie flushed red at the contact, but was quickly diverted from this by a searing pain shooting through his hand; Eddie had poured a little hydrogen peroxide on the wound.
“Holy shit, Eds!” Richie blurted.
“You’re fine!” Eddie returned, pulling out a little tube of antibacterial cream, lathering some onto his finger and gently coating Richie’s cut. Richie bit on his lip, the flush returning at how gentle Eddie was now treating him. Eddie wrapped his hand softly, gentle with the brunet.
Eddie then scowled at the feel of the thick cream, and Richie didn’t think before grabbing Eddie’s hand and wiping the finger on his own shorts.
“Ew, Rich, now your shorts are dirty,” Eddie complained, and Richie shrugged, grinning.
“Not as Dirty As they’re gonna be tonight,” Richie joked, and Eddie shoved him in the chest.
“Beep beep, Rich.” Richie giggled a little before glancing over his hand.
“Thanks Eddie.” Eddie gave a smile and nodded.
“Kiss already damn,” Bev complained, elbowing Richie. Richie turned a bright shade of red, turning on Bev.
“Ew, gross, Bev,” Eddie said, and Richie felt like a bus just ran over his internal organs. Multiple eyes flashed to Richie as Eddie looked down to reorganize his items in his Fanny pack.
Richie recovered quickly.
“Chip chip and cheerio, mates, lets get this show on the road,” Richie covered, forcing some British accent and tugging his friends out of the arcade. “We have places to see, adventures to have!”
“Richie, chill,” Ben laughed, but Stanley elbowed him, wanting Richie to cope in the only way he knew how to. Stan didn’t really think it was healthy to pretend to be someone else whenever something went wrong, but it’s how Richie dealt, and Stanley wasn’t going to stop that by any means.
“You’re a dork,” Bev laughed. Richie forced a grin, climbing on his bike.
“We need to wait for M-Mike, he said he’d m-m-meet us at the arcade,” Bill interrupted, sitting on a bench. Richie blinked at Bill as if asking if he was being serious.
“Me mum wants me home,” Richie lied, accent shifting to more Scottish than British. Stanley knew it was a lie, and Eddie knew it was a lie.
“Bullshit, your mom yelled at you to stay out of the house until after the lights came on if you were gonna act that way,” Eddie said, and Richie gave Eddie a look, pursing his lips.
Richie leaned back on his bike seat, not responding. It was uncomfortable.
“Alright then. I say we go to the library after Mike gets here.”
“No one wants to go to the fucking library, Ben,” Eddie said, squinting. Ben raised his hands in defense. Richie picked absently at his bike handle, not at all focused on his surroundings.
“The library is cool, I need to catch up on my summer project for my honors class anyways,” Stan sighed, and Eddie turned on him.
“Staaaan. Seriously?”
“Yep.”
Eddie thought he was going to keel over and die. This was horrid. Sitting here and watching Stan and Ben do their little research projects while Mike and Bill were huddled around some book was tragic.
After about half an hour of playing paper football with a makeshift goal he made with pencils, he grew bored again, standing and deciding he was going to search for Richie. The bespectacled teen had disappeared not even five minutes into the library visit.
He was about to call for him before remembering the library, and the fact they were very much not alone.
About two minutes later, he found Richie in the kids section, running his fingers along the spines of books.
“I’m bored,” Eddie said, crossing his arms. Richie spared him a glance before looking back at the books. Eddie squinted a bit. “Did I do something?” Richie turned, shaking his head.
“Nah. Nah. And me too, dude,” Richie covered quickly, but Eddie wasn’t stupid. He let Richie talk in some stupid voice as they walked, recapping the recent events.
Then it clicked. Eddie stopped, and Richie walked for a moment before stopping.
“Eds?”
“Do you want me to kiss you?” Eddie asked and Richie’s eyes blew wide. His face turned all shades of red.
“Uh- wha-what are you talking about?”
“You’re upset because I said it would be gross for us to kiss. Do you want me to?” Richie and Eddie stared at each other. Richie turned his chin into his shoulder.
“Not if you think it’s gross,” Richie mumbled, staring at some random title.
“Rich I didn’t-” Richie shook his head, gnawing on his bottom lip.
“You don’t have to pretend to want to kiss me to make-" Eddie shoved Richie up against a wall of books, shoving his lips against Richie’s. Richie stiffened, eyes wide. Eddie tugged away.
“I’m not fucking pretending,” Eddie snarked, “now, are you going to kiss me back or keep sulking in the kids section of the library?” Richie flushed bright red, but when Eddie pressed his lips on Richie’s, he kissed back this time, tilting his head a little.
“No fucking way you two are doing this in a library,” Bev said, and Eddie didn’t yank away like Richie thought he would. Eddie pulled back, rolling his eyes at Bev.
“Don’t complain you told us to kiss,” Eddie said, wiping wetness off his lips as he released Richie. Richie was flushed bright red as he used the edge of his shirt to dry his mouth.
“Oh whatever, Eds,” Bev laughed and Eddie glanced at Richie, who seemed still starstruck by the previous events. “You broke him, Eddie.”
“Beverly,” Eddie complained, waving her off. Bev snickered and raised her hands in defense before walking off.
Eddie turned to Richie, who’s face now seemed unsure, and anxious.
“Eddie, did- did you just kiss me to shut me up?” Eddie stared. “Or- or like- get me to stop being upset?”
“I said gross because I thought you’d think it was gross,” Eddie said, and Richie shook his head a little. “Kiss me. You Kiss me this time.” Richie stared, seemingly excited to be able to kiss Eddie again.
“Are- Are you sure?” Eddie nodded, watching Richie freak out a little bit. Richie forced himself not to hop in place slightly at the concept before hesitantly sliding his hands to rest on Eddie’s hip, pulling the shorter closer. Eddie closed his eyes and Richie huffed out an anxious breath before latching his lips onto Eddie’s, eyes clenching.
Eddie still led him, hand reaching to frame Richie’s chin, tilting him a certain way. Richie melted into it.
“I think we should stop,” Eddie heaved as he pulled away, thumb rubbing against Richie’s cheek as he stared, clearly not wanting to himself.
“Why,” Richie nearly whined, pushing to kiss him again. Eddie pulled away.
“Because we live in Derry, Maine, Rich.” Richie weighed this in his head as Eddie corrected his appearance. He nearly jumped as Richie placed a kiss on Eddie’s cheek.
“So?”
“So, we live in a very unsafe place for us to be doing this in public,” Eddie said, raising his brows. Richie sighed, hanging his head to the side.
“So?”
“Beep beep Richie.”
“I didn’t even do anything!”

I did find apothecary diaries manga, am gonna end up reading for a while, but it is absolutely giving me that itch to create a court system with like. Multiple different class structures and stuff. Because I understand apothecary diaries is about a fictional not-China kinda setup since it’s like. Not based on a real Emperor and real consorts but inspired by historical fiction to make an interesting story about a girl who is a lady in waiting to a consort of the Emperor. But also a skilled Apothecary/pharmacist and medical care provider. And kind of a botanist but when it comes to the more Chinese influenced medicine I think it really overlaps but I’m very ignorant about a lot of Chinese medicines because it’s been really undervalued here. Which really makes it more interesting to learn about it ‘cause like… a majority of modern medicine is adapted from natural medicine so it’s like. Just finding the chemical compounds that causes the reaction and doing advanced chemistry that I don’t understand because I didn’t pass grade 12 chemistry even let alone going into university and doing pharmacy sciences, so it’s all connected and important.
Natural and chemical is the same thing half the time. I’m just too fuckin stupid to understand it. And Chinese herbs aren’t local so i don’t know what they do. There’s a plantain herb here that’s not a very large banana that my mom’s made into a really good pain relief cream, same with turmeric, that’s really good for inflammation too. And they don’t make my eyes burn like menthol so it’s good for the jaw pain I get. I might have th wrong name for the plantain herb. My mom grows it but most people pluck it like a weed and throw it out. Honestly same with camomile up here, it grows wild like a weed. And dandelions have a lot of herbal properties. I think they make a really good anti-itch cream… though that might be the camomile. Most of this stuff my mom’s been making. I haven’t been as involved ‘cause I haven’t been as active. But there’s really cool stuff with really good properties. I’m just. Local to northern Canada. So I know different herbs.
All that to say this series is my jam and the episode where she has to deal with convincing well meaning but ignorant busybodies the correct ways to care for a bedridden sick person is really cathartic. Like honestly just “hey you have to feed a sick person food they can actually digest and not ‘health food’” was like. My struggle with convincing people I needed to eat the right food so that I had enough energy to digest more complex food instead of just having it run through me or having my body reject it. Like having people force me to eat “healthy” high fibre food when my body literally didn’t have enough energy to digest it so I just passed it and therefore gained no energy from the food and became sicker was so frustrating because then they would get mad at me for not eating something nutritional when what I needed was something calorically dense just so that I could have the energy to digest something with nutrition. You need energy to digest food. That’s how people can starve while eating. That’s one of the key signs of malnutrition. If you have green diarrhea or you have a child with green diarrhea, it’s because the food is not getting digested and it might be like. Because the body doesn’t have enough calories to digest the food getting eaten. That’s why recovering from a starvation event it is important to start slow and eat carb and fat dense meals and ease into fibres, supplement the vitamins with medication. It’s difficult. Rice and bread are stables because We Need Carbs To Live. Carbs give us the energy to digest the rest of our food. Fats give us the energy to live. They are vital to our existence.
This is a pro-food blog. Alway everyday all day amen hallelujah peanut butter.

Here's Chapter 12 of Down With the Rickness - we're only a few chapters away from the ending now and I am NOT ready. I just love sharing this fic with all of you so much, and I'll be sad when it's over.
Anyway, this is (mostly) another chapter of just Rick and Morty, but there's one brief appearance by Jerry. New chapter below the cut!
Tumblr media
“Mom’s gonna be late.” Morty informed Rick, who nodded, rubbing his throat again.
“Ugh. Morty, remind me to stop including tonsils in any and all future clones. They just sit there doing nothing 99% of the time, then get all inflamed and painful the few times a decade I get sick. Talk about a design flaw. It’s *Cough!* *Cough!* like the little pick-me ass bitches are mad at me for typically forgetting they exist. Ow. Also, remind me to remove these the second I feel up to it.” he complained.
“Uh-huh. I promise I will.” Morty agreed, trying to decide if it was a good or bad sign that Rick was talking about removing his own tonsils when he felt better, as opposed to right this second.
“You planning to stay up for a while?” he asked, getting another nod as an answer.
“Okay, well, it’s lunchtime. Did you want to try eating a sandwich or something?” Rick gave him a look that was meant to be angry, but came across more pitiful.
“Fine, I’ll just bring you more ice cream.” Morty gave in.
“Thanks. Oh, and Morty? I’m kinda *Cough!* empty here. Think you can help me out, buddy?” Rick asked, shaking his empty flask.
“No way. You’ve had plenty already. I’m not gonna get into a whole thing with you about how much you drink normally, but you’re way too sick for it today.” Morty refused.
“Pick a lane, Morty. I can’t be *Cough!* ‘too sick to drink’ and ‘not sick enough to cure using one of my supposedly crazy experiments’ at the same time.” Rick pouted, putting the trash can and tissue box aside to put his labcoat back on and retrieve the blankets from the floor again.
“Yes, you can. Both of those things can be true, Rick. And they are. You’re not guilting me into refilling your damn flask. I’m bringing you more juice.” Morty told him, starting to leave the room.
“But *Achoo!* my throat hurts. And my head hurts. And I’m cold again. It’ll help with at least one of those things.” Rick whined, throwing his head back dramatically and putting his feet up on the coffee table. He snuck a glance at Morty to see if this was working at all.
“No. It’s probably why your head hurts in the first place. Or at least one of the reasons. As for the rest, I don’t see how it’s supposed to help…” Morty made the mistake of looking over at Rick, seeing again how disheveled and miserable he looked. And asking for more booze, while not a good idea, was tame compared to every other idea Rick had come up with today…
“Okay, I’ll make a deal with you. I still refuse to bring you any of the stronger shit you keep in the garage. But I’m pretty sure there’s sofa wine left, and if you drink it, I won’t tell Summer it was you. I should since she’s mad at you anyway, but I won’t. Deal?” Morty compromised.
“Fair enough.” Rick agreed. With an annoyed sigh, Morty went to the kitchen to get lunch for the two of them.
Rick felt around under a cushion until he found the half empty bottle of wine. The overly colorful, badly designed label had silhouettes of about a dozen dancing figures, all in obnoxiously bright colors, in front of a disco ball. It looked as much like something teenagers would sneak as this particular bottle was. He unscrewed the cap and took a tentative sip.
“Eww. How long have we all been sitting on this shit? I doubt it was great to begin with, but it’s definitely seen better days.” Rick complained to himself. He looked the ugly label over again and saw the alcohol content: 7%.
“Ugh. It’s terrible and weak as hell? One or the other I can deal with, but this is just awful. *Cough!* Dammit, Summer. I would’ve expected better from you.” Rick took another sip and shuddered. He recapped the bottle and started to put it back, then reconsidered. This stuff was giving the cold medicine a run for its money in terms of what tasted worse… but the warm liquid sliding down his throat did feel sort of nice. Soothing, even. It didn’t burn like the liquor he would have preferred to be drinking would. And sure, the alcohol content was a joke, but it’s not like he was starting from sober…
“Fuck it. Beggars can’t be choosers and all.” Rick muttered, deciding to drink more of the sofa wine.
Meanwhile, Jerry was sulking in his mancave. He turned the Sailor Moon tape over in his hand repeatedly and sighed. Finally deciding to put it down, he checked his phone to see if either of the Beths had replied to any of his texts. Neither one had. Jerry frowned and sat there for a few minutes, looking even more dejected and forlorn. Then he thought of some more messages to send, and immediately proceeded to do that.
Another thing Morty became aware of throughout the day was that, besides not sleeping well when ill, Rick also rarely seemed able to get comfortable for more than a few minutes at a time. The tossing and turning was just as bad, if not worse, when the man was awake than when he was sleeping. When he was lying with his head at the opposite end of the couch, Morty kept getting kicked, usually in the back of the head. If Rick was lying with his head at the end of the couch where Morty was sitting, that meant more getting coughed and sneezed on, and sometimes being hit by a bony elbow or shoulder.
When he wasn’t sprawled across the couch (and Morty), Rick would try to sleep sitting at the opposite end of it, usually with at least two pillows under his head. Apparently, this helped with the postnasal drip, but sleeping like that hurt his back. Morty had to stop himself from pointing out that Rick fell asleep sitting on the couch all the time and didn’t usually complain about that afterwards.
Then of course, there was the temperature issue. Rick alternated between freezing and not being able to get enough blankets, his thin frame shaking despite all the layers… and the exact opposite, tossing all the blankets aside as quickly as he could, complaining that the thermostat must be broken. He kept going from one extreme to the other, with very little middle ground.
During the few moments of calm when Rick slept, or at least had settled down temporarily, Morty kept looking at things on his phone and scribbling down notes from what he read. As the day went on, what he was looking at progressed from benign things like the debate on whether or not vitamin C did anything for a cold and memes about watching game shows while home sick, to distinguishing colds from more serious illnesses. And from there to complications of those more serious illnesses, and how they could be worse and more likely in someone older…
While Rick seemed to be sleeping soundly enough, Morty decided to risk sneaking upstairs to grab his laptop. His phone was nearly dead, and besides, he was tired of staring at that small screen (and Rick sometimes kicking the phone out of his hand). He came back downstairs about 10 minutes later to discover Rick awake and glaring at him. The tissue shoved up his right nostril undercut how furious he looked, but only slightly.
“Morty…”
“What? I wasn’t gone long, and you’re the one who wants me to leave you alone all together. If you’re mad again because I won’t bring you more booze, too bad.” Morty said, trying to figure out what the newest problem was.
“Where’s my portal gun, Morty?” Shit. Morty gulped, but quickly tried to act nonchalant and lie his way out of this.
“You mean you don’t have it? Aw geez, Rick. I don’t, don’t know anything about that. You probably dropped it in the garage earlier and didn’t notice. You have been pretty out of it today.” Rick considered this. He hated to admit it, but that was possible. After all, he still hadn’t figured out why there’d been a shoe in his pocket earlier. But Morty was clearly more anxious than usual, and it was a dead giveaway he was hiding something.
“Uh-huh. Can’t argue with *COUGH!* that. So how about you help me find it?”
“Maybe later. You need to get some more rest, and what’s it matter where your portal gun is when you’re in no condition to use it?”
“I’m not going to use it. Just getting up from this couch to go look for the thing sounds like a huge pain in the ass – forget about going to another dimension. But it’s mine and I want it. Besides, *Cough!* *Cough!* if I’m not going to use it, what does it matter if I have it?”
Morty couldn’t think of a reply, and for the second time that day, Rick found himself locked in a staring contest with one of his grandchildren. Also for the second time that day, he lost when he sneezed.
“Ugh. Dammit, I hate this. At least it’s almost over. I mean, it has to be – I’ve been sick for days.” he complained weakly after blowing his nose.
“I hate to break this to you, Rick, but it’s only been a day. More like half of one, actually.” Morty informed him, feeling another wave of sympathy and worry. He plugged his laptop in, plugged his phone into it, and sat down next to Rick again.
“That’s not funny, Morty.” Rick told him pitifully.
“I know it’s not. But I also wasn’t joking. Sorry, Rick.” Morty apologized. Rick grabbed the nearest pillow and screamed into it.
“Stop that. You’ll just make your throat hurt worse, and for what? Throwing a tantrum isn’t going to help anything.” Morty told him, patting his arm.
“You don’t know that it *SNIFF!* won’t.” Rick argued, still talking into the pillow. Realizing how pathetic that sounded, he tossed it aside and slumped against Morty, resting his head on his shoulder.
“But… probably not. *YAWN!*” he admitted.
“Aww, come on, Rick. Don’t fall asleep on me. I’m covered in your germs as it is. Move.” Morty protested, trying to nudge Rick off him.
“You gonna tell me where my portal gun is?” Rick asked, struggling to stay awake.
“Nope. You say you aren’t going to use it, but I have zero reason to believe you.”
“Fine. Then I’m not moving.”
“If you fall on the floor, I’m leaving you there.”
Still trying unsuccessfully to make Rick move, Morty was surprised there was no sarcastic response or further argument. He turned his head slightly and saw it was because Rick had fallen asleep. With a sigh, Morty tried one last time to nudge Rick off his shoulder. When it didn’t work, he resigned himself to being used as a pillow for a while. He turned on the laptop and went back to his questionable research. Another episode of the fishing show came on. This time, the man who looked like Gene with a beard was listing facts about salmon.
While Rick had slept half an hour at most any other time during the day, of course, now it seemed like he was going to be out for much longer.
“How is this the one position you’ve managed to get comfortable in all day?” Morty asked, feeling some drool drip onto his shoulder. Besides being awkwardly slumped against Morty, Rick had one leg draped over the back of the couch, and the other dangling off the front of it. It was surprising he hadn’t fallen yet. Having given up on getting Rick to move, Morty decided to see if he could slip free without disturbing him. He put his laptop aside and tried to stand up… only to realize that Rick had grabbed onto his arm at some point without him noticing.
“C’mon, really?” Morty whispered, carefully trying to free his arm. Rick groaned and coughed a few times.
“Shit! Sorry. Didn’t mean to wake you.” Morty apologized.
Either ignoring or not hearing him, Rick sat up a little straighter and took a half asleep look around the room. He pulled his blanket pile up to his chest, then immediately rested his head on Morty’s shoulder again. He also tightened his hold on the boy’s arm.“Fine, I give up. At least you’re not trying to ‘fix’ this with something that could kill us, and you’re finally getting some sleep. You win. *YAWN!*” Morty gave in, accepting that he wasn’t getting up any time soon. He suddenly realized how tired he was, too. The sounds of the rain, the boring TV show, and of course, Rick’s snoring, weren’t helping. Morty looked back and forth between what he’d been reading on his computer, and Rick sleeping up against him. He debated whether it was alright for him to take a nap, too. After a few minutes of just watching Rick, who appeared to be sleeping soundly, Morty closed his eyes. Within a minute, he was also fast asleep.

I’m so damn tired. I stayed up the whole flight. I planned to sleep initially, but the old nightmares have been back with a vengeance and I decided that it would probably be pretty fucked up to wake up on a flight screaming and crying about it planes crashing into towers. So I grabbed Starbucks as soon as I was off the plane. Swung through the drive through for a second coffee after I picked Bandit up and broke down and let her get one too. She’s a teenager. She’s old enough. We grabbed groceries on the way home. She wanted to make breakfast together. Got a wile idea to invent “breakfast pizza”, kinda like breakfast burritos, and honestly? It’s not half bad.
I was mostly glad for something to do with my hands while we had to have some hard conversations. The first part was easier. Not really emotionally easier, but something I knew would be received well enough. Explicitly coming out to my kid was a little weird, but I know she’s always known something was a little different with me from her friends’ dads and she saw all of the dresses and skirts from the last tour and I needed to give her a damn good reason for not seeing her grandparents anymore. Honesty’s the only option with this shit and I raised a good kid. She asked if she should try calling me something other than dad and I hadn’t really thought about it before, so I just told her dad’s still fine. She’s decided she’s not going to call Frank “Uncle Frank” anymore though, because it’s too weird if I’m dating him. I think that’s fair enough.
The court part was harder. I’ve never really been open with her about being an alcoholic or how bad things were in the past. I didn’t feel like I needed to, since I’d gotten clean way before she was born. It feels like a bit of a selfish thing I did, now that I had to confront it. Mikey and I both have problems and that shit can run in families. Maybe it runs in ours. She deserves to know what to look out for and that she can come to one of us if it ever feels like a problem for her. That we won’t judge and that we’ll help her out, even if what I want more than anything is for her to never have to know the pain and the loneliness of rock bottom. So I told her all of that. Told her that I made the wrong choice after fighting with my parents, but that it was only one night and I’m not letting myself slip back into that. That Uncle Mikey’s helping me through it and she doesn’t need to worry. Maybe telling her not to worry wasn’t the right move though. Of course, she’s gonna worry about me. No kid wants a world where they could lose their dad. And it’s going to be stressful for her too, being dragged back to court. Possibly being told she has to pack up and move full time to her mom’s. I’m going to try to set the example though. Even if I’m losing my fucking mind, she doesn’t have to see it. I can do my best to be calm and collected and take her worries on for her. That’s what a good dad does.
For now, I’ll just make today good. I handled the dishes and we’re going to see Mikey and Gabe soon. Maybe we’ll get ice cream or something later. I feel a little out of my depth, but I’m doing my best here.
