Nominations for The CRiT Awards opened today! For those who aren't familiar, The CRiT Awards are a peer-driven TTRPG awards show where creators can nominate each other to be recognized for their work in the TTRPG space.

For those of you deciding who you’d like to nominate for each category, I hope you’ll consider nominating me for the category of Best Game Master | Indie.

During the eligible period I GM’d two seasons of Monsterhearts: Freshman Year for Girls Run These Worlds and 6 indie one-shots on my own channel. I also facilitated 7 GMless indie games and Shall We? a Wanderhome limited series. (GMing and Facilitating are very much not the same thing, but I want to highlight the number of indie TTRPG shows I've produced/facilitated as well as GM'd.)

In 2023, I started the Incredibly Indie series on RollForFelicity, which is a series specifically intended to get more eyes on games with few (if any) examples of play. I consider myself a huge supporter of indie TTRPGs.

Not only do I increase the visibility of indie TTRPGs, but I’m also very good at running them. I get to the heart of the mechanics and lean into the stories and moments each game is hoping to achieve. When I run a game, I try to run it as the quintessential example of what THAT game can be.

I have a deep love for indie TTRPGs, but more than that, I think I’m really fucking good at running them. So if you’ve enjoyed any of the series or one-shots I’ve GM’d, I hope you’ll consider nominating me for Best Game Master | Indie.

i told myself that i wouldn’t hurtle myself back down the rabbit hole of this blog but after spontaneously reading through what i’d had written so far of the prof soobin fic (…a moment of silence 😔🪦…) i’ve been itching to write again lately AND EVEN MAYBE FINISH THE FIC AHHH IDK just ask berrie she’s been witnessing my inner turmoil abt this soooo i might just fuck around and make a comeback against my better judgement 😗

i’m sad cuz back in jan/feb i had hit 1k while i was on my hiatus, so i never got to do an event or anything, and it’s been so long now so i probably won’t but still thank you guys so much for enjoying my works that much and for even still being here despite my absence!! an event will come eventually if i’m still around for 2k lol 🤧

The perfect 10 liners got its trailer released today and it's airing on sundays, Saturdays are already occupied with Pluto, Kidnap is airing on Friday which is still only halfway through the series, so that means if we are getting The heart Killers it will be mostly on weekdays right? Unless they wait for Kidnap to end which will be almost the end of November

Also knowing gmmtv I cannot trust them, The heart killers is the most anticipated series this year and I'm hoping that they give a weekend slot to it, what do you think?

Traditionally, GMMTV has reserved all their BLs (and now GLs) for the weekend slots (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). Their weekdays are for non-BLs or reruns (usually).

So, I don’t think they will divert from this. I think you kinda of hit in the head there. I suspect The Heart Killers will be replacing Kidnap, which is scheduled to air its final episode on 22/11/2024.

I know Dunk mentioned November as the anticipated period for THK release. But Khaotung mentioned we will be getting it “before 31/12/2024” [that cheeky boy!!!! 😆]…

I suspect we will either get our first episode on 29/11/2024 (Friday slot) or if we are getting a special episode before that (please do 🙏🙏🙏🙏 - The Eclipse had a special episode and it was so much fun!), then we will get episode 0/special episode on 29/11/2024 followed by episode 1 on 06/12/2024 (or sometimes they do the special episode a few days prior to episode 1 release)

Either way, I’m fully expecting The Heart Killers to be like Last Twilight was for JimmySea - the series will cross into 2025 to Jan/Feb 2025 🥰

Non-sleeping baby is here for his weekly overnight stay. It took him a while to get to sleep as per usual. I can never convince him to drink much milk at bedtime so tonight I put most of his bottle of milk on to a weetabix which he gobbled down. At least I’ll know he has a full tummy when he wakes in the night.

Booked an adventure to Finland for April to round off our child free travel before we get ready for another foster placement. We’re holidaying at a rate of one country a month at the moment ✈️ Ireland, Portugal, Germany and Finland for Jan, Feb, March and April.

In other news, next week I’m taking two siblings, a toddler and a baby, for a week of holiday care. As well as 2 yr old twins one day, non-sleeping baby for his night, and a 1 yr old for an afternoon. It’s going to be a busy week. The toddler is in nursery three days though. The only pinch points are one lunchtime when I have my final counselling session, and 9am one day when toddler needs to be at nursery at the same time that the twins arrive. Thankfully H is super flexible with his working hours so he can help out.

And in yet other news, the car electrics have gone a bit weird and our headlights and reverse lights keep turning themselves randomly on. I woke up this morning to loads of messages from the street whatsapp telling me we’d left the lights on. The car has been to the electrician today, and he hasn’t solved the issue but he’s stopped the reverse lights coming on randomly. Unfortunately he’s also stopped them coming on at all, even when the car is in reverse. He’s sent the car back to us to see how the lights behave over the next few days. Then we’ll review. Ugh cars. Why do they have to go wrong!!

My girl today ✨✨✨ She has 3 of these dresses, one in pink, blue, and this one. Kevin went a bit crazy when he saw all the cute stuff for like $7 /piece 😂💕 She has another classic Mexican white one with colorful flowers, and I found a newborn version of the same dress for my cousin whose expecting a baby girl in JAN/FEB 🥹

We also got surprise news that K’s cousin and his wife had their second baby boy today after almost a handful of miscarriages - I’m so happy for them 🙏🏽

They’d been trying for a couple years for their second and I guess they stopped telling absolutely anyone except their nuclear family after so many losses (which of course, I’d do the same).

I’m just so relieved to know that they got their baby safely earthside, I can’t imagine that pain 😓

Hey, so it looks like my issue with Etsy will not be solved. Not only did they put my shop on “vacation mode” they also decided to hold my funds, so people who paid for my art got their money taken by Etsy. I had three choices: 1) Honor the orders and pay for the items from my own pocket. 2) Cancel the orders and pay the cancellation from my own pocket or 3) Refund the orders and pay them from my own pocket. I chose 1 and all the orders should now be shipped. I just hope Etsy will pay the people back, if they’re not going to give me the money…

This week has been super shitty to me. I’m probably re-doing my kofi shop to deliver prints & stuff again. At least Printful has been pretty good to me.

2023 Megaman Secret Valentine Event *Signups Closed*

Wait, you say to yourself. After like 16 years, suddenly this subject header says Event and not Contest? Miyabi, what’s going on?!

Well, I’m going to flip the script a little this year and try something different, for a few different reasons: One, after so many years of romantic contest themes, it can be a little hard brainstorming something that feels different. Two, some people are more likely to participate in something a little more relaxed and not as competitive. And three, there is a certain Megaman video game collection coming out in a couple more months after Valentine’s, and maybe there will be something else art-themed planned that will be announced soonish as well... So I don’t want to creatively burn people out, either. 

So, taking a note from the annual Robot Rumpus Secret Santa, I’m going to attempt a quick Secret Valentine Event instead. Help someone feel the love this Valentine’s Day through creating a Valentine’s Day gift for them. Consider this a test of sorts. For everyone who signs up, you will randomly receive an assignment to draw for another participant as their Secret Valentine.

Sign Up Instructions:

1.) When you are ready, send me a dm/message/note via Tumblr, Twitter or dA, stating you intend to sign up to draw for someone. 

2.) In your message to me, please include a wish list with a minimum of 3 individual characters or couples from the Megaman franchise that you would be happy to have drawn for you as Valentine’s gift art.

What’s your publishing schedule looking like?

That’s a great question. I have no clue (kidding but also not?)

Kidding…not kidding lol…send help pls. But seriously.

Rough Schedule (As it Stands)

I’m currently working on a follow up to Relinquish that sort of fell by the wayside. That is nearly done (75-80%) and it will be up before the end of week (ideally today or tomorrow). This will just be added as a second chapter to the original.

Leather Black I’m actually planning to post more frequently on because that’s meant to be a short series similar to how I did Empty Rooms. I’m planning to resume updates for that this week/weekend with weekly updates but will ideally be more like every 2-3 days depending on my schedule. I really like this one so I’m eager to update for it but I think I just started tackling it at a time where there was a lot going on in my personal life that messed up my schedule quite a bit.

After Hours is reaching its end with maybe another 2-3 chapters (the last likely being an epilogue) so I’m trying to wrap it up by getting back to (at minimum) a biweekly update schedule. Max I’m giving myself to finish is through end of January since that’s around when I first started it. Should have an update to this by the end of next week.

Similar to After Hours, I intend to wrap up Promise Me very soon as well with, likely, another 2-3 chapters. The alternating updates really worked well for me as I would just toggle between which one was the previously updated fic. (Unrelated) Promise Me I’ve actually been debating on because I already set the layout for a sequel in my head. I was thinking about whether I wanted to just keep it going or create a separate fic for it and right now I feel like the latter so we’re surprisingly wrapping that up soon. Should have an update on this in about two weeks if not sooner.

I want to lighten the load before I tackle anything further so I think this is the point where I kind of stop the addition of any new fics until I get a better handle on my current WIP. That said, I most likely won’t be updating Hour of Need or When We Serve until I finish After Hours and Promise Me. Encore is there as well though I’m feeling a little iffy on whether or not I want to come back to that but we’ll see. HoN and WWS will likely follow the pattern of alternating biweekly or even weekly updates between the two once After Hours and Promise Me are done. We’re going to give these a hopeful return in early February but may come sooner.

I’ve gotten several Tumblr requests in my asks that I do see and will definitely get too. I have a tendency to overload myself and I’m very susceptible to burnout so those are just a little behind but I’m hoping to add a few into my update schedule resuming in Mid-Jan/Early-Feb if not sooner once I wrap up Leather Black and my other two bigger fics.

As always, thank you everyone for being so patient with me. I hope that I’m fortunate enough where I can eventually just write for a living and just play with words all day. Until then, I most resume my normal day to day life which isn’t nearly as exciting but keeps me equally busy. I write most of my fics on my phone but also try to sit at my computer to write which tends to motivate me more. Unfortunately, my computer has been inoperable for a few months now as I’ll likely need to replace the CPU I’m pretty sure I broke lol. It’s had to take a backseat to a few other things but I’m planning to get a replacement in mid January and hopefully that’ll help with a lot with my productivity.

I hope this provides anyone looking for their particular favorite of my works, a bit of relief knowing that updates are coming soon. Thank you all for being the best part of getting to do this, truly. 🩵

Not sure how long this is gonna be, my hand really hurts (and my back just kicking in lol thaaaaanks), just wanna get some thoughts out

Been recovering lately, defo feeling better but not there yet.  Been so stressed and busy since, well, November really.  But January and February defo took the cake.  Work was brutal, but I was taking advantage of an opportunity before it vanished.  In a better world, we would have started getting ready back in August when I first started asking (thinking that was late to start planning for the Feb event), but because of politics and all that guff we didn’t even get the go until late Dec/early Jan. 

I am not going to get into the details, but rest assured I was working my batutty off.  Then I got covid lol.  While in another state.  *throws hands up*

So yeah, it was about what I expected, with some minor differences.  Took a full week off work (which sucked bc half those days were supposed to be vacation recovery days, not sick recovery days), worked from home for a week and a half, and finally went back into the office today (tested negative a few times and took a few extra days anyway, it was fine). 

I just have this lingering cough that, guess what!  Gets worse when I talk!  *snickers*  That week off where I just slept a lot, I didn’t have a cough.  Minute I get back to work (remote but phone calls), suddenly I start coughing.  Bah!  So that leaves me pretty tired at the end of the day.  Also my back is acting up because of all the sedentary laying around I’ve been doing, but that will work itself out as I get more active again.  The biggest problem with today is for some reason my hand feels like it’s cramping up constantly, without actually cramping.  owie :(

Anyway, before my hand gives up, I just wanted to get some thoughts out that weren’t just whining.  I have been trying to keep my submas interest up (or any interest, let’s be real it’s hard for me to do anything extra when I’m so work tired) through the months, but leaving an avenue to revive the spark when I have the time and energy to work on it.  Threw on my submas playlist on the way home, and yeah, I’ve definitely forgotten what songs go to what scenes/ideas other than vibes.  Just need to do a few daydreaming sessions to pick some of it back up I think, plus go over my notes and all.

I’ve also been thinking I should just...post the raw ideas to Ao3.  Started thinking it when I saw a post going around about how...historians? I forget what their job/passion was, but people who like to ready histories, understand why people liked the stories they saved, highlights and notes in the margins, the every day small loves that don’t make the big history books, that sort of thing.  How those people were basically writing a love letter to people who save those little snippets, print out fanfics, things like that. 

I think it was another post, might have been the same, that was also encouraging people to use Ao3 as the archive it is.  It doesn’t have to be complete works.  It’s there to archive the words, that’s all. 

So yeah.  As much as I want to and intend to try to write the full stories, I’m thinking of just transferring some of the tumblr posts/ideas, some of the snippets from my notes, into Ao3.  Because I want to share the stories with people, and if I can’t write them in full, at least I can share the heart of the ideas.  I still need to transfer old fics to Ao3 too, unfinished as they are.  And I’m kinda hoping that new eyes and new interactions spark my interest again, get my brain going into story-mode again.

I’ve been trying to do some reblogging on my backlog of tumblr stuff.  I know I could just hit the heart button.  I know I could reblog without comment or tag.  But I really like leaving people comments.  It’s just another thing that takes a bit of energy, that I haven’t had too much of.  But doing a bit at a time is good too!

My pain and energy levels have prevented me from doing much of anything for so long.  I can’t say it will change much.  I spend time with friends, which don’t get me wrong i love, but it eats into my free time, and more importantly my energy.  I have a trip coming up in May, which yeah sounds so far away, but it will be upon me way faster than I expect.  Who knows when I’ll have another flare-up (hand plz im almost done), or if work is going to drain me.  But now that the hardest is behind me, I’m hoping to keep things reasonable and have a chance to be creative again.

I want to start my garden (made a few small moves toward that).  I want to make more bracelets, and maybe sell some (character bracelets!  seriously i love my submas bracelets, i wish i could take pictures that do the colors justice).  I want to hang out with friends.  I want to write.  I want to write.  I want to write my stories and share them so much.  Just need to wrangle my brain together.  Balance them to my energy.  And not let my responsibilities pull my mood down or stress me out too much (guh just thinking about some of them make me so tired buuuuh).

here’s a breakdown of my breakdown and my former company’s marketing department breakdown. (this is for myself for future reference if i ever question why i left bc I’m scared of new things sometimes and romanticize past things) - me telling my boss i’m overwhelmed every month since july 22.  - my boss and I having an offsite meeting in oct 22 where she asks me if I’m “really in this” and that she will only help me if i’m “really in this.” a bee lands in my cup. i acquiesce and say i’m “really in this.” - my boss, is and has been, really shitty towards all of us (june 22-nov 22) and i’m afraid the whole department is going to quit and so I call her bosses, the ceo and the president (because if i’m “really in this” then i’m going to do it the “right way”) and say “if this doesn’t change everyone is going to quit and you won’t have a department anymore.” - i take a week off for thanksgiving and can’t get out of bed. decide to also take a week off in between christmas and new year’s. - i get called in during PTO on dec 28, 22 for a very important meeting* that is then cancelled 5 mins before it starts. - i am also not very good at getting out of bed this week either. - i get a new job description and a new report on jan 1, 23, except there isn’t really a job description just my boss telling me once exactly what she wants me doing which was this sentence, “own the leads.”  - my one report is on a vacation and the brand team utterly falls apart because they are running a brand awareness campaign with a digital component that is meant to drive interest but they have not thought about funneling that interest literally....anywhere and I must create a whole upper funnel marketing program by myself in the span of two weeks.   - i hire another report to help out with the leads but a person gets hired to the general marketing team (and reports to my boss) and I am responsible for training them so I spend over 40 hours training them and then they quit three weeks later at the end of feb 23.   - mar 23 - my original direct report goes on maternity leave and I start getting pulled into these interrogation type meetings in the board room. everyone with chief in the title on one side of the table and me, marketing manager (1 of 3 marketing managers on the team) on the other side of the table. it was the only logical seat because it was also the only vacant seat. i was actually terrified. these 2-3 hour long meetings happen every. single. day. until i breakdown crying in the middle of the 14th one (that’s business days only, readers). I lie and say that I had a family emergency to attend to. so I got up and walked out.  - the following monday, march 27, 23, I tell my boss I’m putting in my notice, without a plan. she responds, “can’t say I’m surprised” - that next week, the multi-hour meetings continue except they have pulled in the other 2 marketing managers so I am not the only one on my side of the table anymore. before the end of the week is over, they fire marketing manager #2.  - monday, apr 10, 23, i’m told to work from home the rest of the week and that my last day will be that friday.  - monday, apr 17, 23 was my first day of funemployment. I slept 15 hours. I have slept 9-10 hours every night since. - today, apr 25, 23, they fired my second direct report.  I could not eat well due to stress and anxiety during this time. I could not sleep well due to stress and anxiety during this time. I could not go to the gym due to stress and anxiety during this time. I could not take care of myself due to stress and anxiety during this time.  I will NEVER let that happen to me again.

About Architectural Digest

Let’s talk about the architectural digest issue. I’m already seeing so many misconceptions.

Architectural digest has two issues is that release on the 1st of every month Architectural Digest Style (the main one) and Architectural Digest Celebrity Style. The issue that releases will be for the following month not the current. For example on Dec 1 the January issue releases, on Jan 1 the February issue releases and on Feb 1 it’s March and so on.

On August 1st the September issue released and on the cover was John legend and his wife Chrissy Tiegan and the rest of their adorable family, this is the issue that I will be using as an example.

Today September 1 and the October issue will be released.

Later today, those who have subscriptions to the website and to the physical copies will see who is on the cover for October (this months issue). If you don’t have either of those, Architectural Digest is so kind that they will post all of the articles in that issue sporadically throughout the month. You know whether an article was in the issue because it will be titled Magazine and it will say it at the bottom just like so:

Web-Exclusive Content

Architectural digest also has Web Exclusive Content meaning that it is exclusive to the website and is not in any issue. A lot of the time web exclusive content are home tours done by or for celebrity designers, time-period inspired homes, and just pretty houses in general but every once in a while a celebrity will get a Web exclusive home tour and interview. Which in my eyes, sometimes, they look a lot like the interviews inside of the issue.

They are paired with an Open Door AD posted to YouTube, not always, but a good majority of the time. Amanda Seyfried, Chloe Fineman, and Ashley Benson had a Web exclusive home tour interview that included an open door AD.

Celebrity Real Estate

Lastly, and most importantly, we are going to discuss the real estate, or rather the celebrity real estate section of Architectural Digest.

On first glance, there are three forms of articles that go in that section Buying, Selling, and an Inside Portfolio. The first two are self-explanatory they are articles that contain how much the house is being sold or bought for where it is located, and some of the features inside of the house. Sometimes these articles can make a small comment about the relationship status of said celebrities, sometimes the article is just about the house. For example Shaun White’s and Nina Dobrev article debunked their engagement rumors. (whether AD was the first source to debunk their engagement rumors is unclear to me)

An inside portfolio is an article about a celebrity’s previous homes (usually at least three) sometimes more the article will end with the home that the celebrity is currently living in and the majority of the time these articles include that the celebrity is updating, renovating, or adding an addition to their home. They will also announce who is designing their house. Here is Sarah Jessica Parker’s Inside Portfolio and here is snippet of the update and who is redesigning her home:

And just as another example here is a snippet of the update given about Nick Cannon’s home

Just on first glance these forms of articles do not include any pictures of their current homes. It also looks to me that these aren’t actual official sit down interviews. It is just rehashing what is already out there or is public knowledge. All of these articles are also quoting old interviews done with Architectural Digest or other magazines. But that is just based on first glance.

Lastly, about Light and Dwell It is very important to note that the house that is allegedly Chris’ is their last project for the year and is set to be done by the end of fall. they have been featured on Architectural Digest three times before here are their articles:

My Opinion

Here is my personal opinion based on what Lonesome has told us. It seems to me based on what Lonesome is describing the closest thing is an Inside Portfolio. My only issue with that is there will allegedly be pictures of the inside of his house. But the inside portfolio usually doesn’t include any pictures, so I’m confused. I do know that this kind of article does plug in the designers. I can also see him doing similar to what Amanda Seyfried did, and the only problem is hers did not go in the real estate section. It was just a web exclusive interview, her interview included pictures of her home, but not the kind that revealed too much and still kept a bit of privacy she’s also one of the few celebrities that did a web exclusive interview but didn’t do the open door YouTube interview. Which I can’t see him doing either. it’s just an educated guess based on what I know.

It is possible that the article is actually for Light and Dwell designing Chris Evans house, but won’t necessarily be receiving an interview from Chris Evans. We’ll just have to wait and see it’s just a guess.

I hope that this has taught you something, and you remain educated for the rest of the month. Like lonesome has said these interviews come out sporadically throughout the month so we’ll just have to wait and see. And we’ll discuss on September 30 if not earlier.
