Well, after two long years of posting, I’m finally taking a break.

Thank you guys for everything for the past two years. It’s genuinely been so fun making daily doodles. But all good things must come to an end eventually. I’m tired.

What are the plans moving forward?

Taking a break:

Life in general has been really rough lately. Tons of family drama, personal medical issues making it impossible to function some days, and my childhood dog recently passed away a few days after Christmas last year. So it was a real challenge to “keep up appearances” if you know what I mean.

I’ve said this plenty of times in the past already, however I’ll repeat it since there’s surprisingly a lot more new people that have followed since then. I’m taking a whole month off from posting entirely. So I won’t be active on Silksongeveryday until about March 14th. Why? Hopefully it’s obvious but posting daily content for two years straight really does something to you. I’ve grown tired of this blog just a little bit, and I feel stepping away from it for a month will help me reconnect. I still love the game and its community, and I’d hate for my disinterest in a single blog to ruin that. If a month long break could fix that then so be it.

I’m also taking a somewhat indefinite break from daily doodles. I WILL still be posting doodles occasionally every once in a while after I come back from my month long break. However I won’t be doing daily doodles.

So no daily doodles ever again?

There is only one condition that has to be met for me to return to daily doodles.

A Silksong release date is announced.

Which is…let’s face it, a release date might not happen any time soon. 6 years of near radio silence from TC? I’m not expecting much, especially not in a month.

But WHEN a release date is announced I’ll definitely return to daily doodles and do a sort of daily “countdown” until Silksong is officially out.

Will doodle requests still be open?

Yes! Even if I will no longer be doing daily posts I will still occasionally post every once in a while with doodles! So if there’s a specific doodle you’d like to request and you have an extra $1 hanging around, hornet doodle requests are open on my ko-fi!!

What about the current projects that were happening on Silksongeveryday?

I’m still working on them! Just as mentioned before, a lot of stuff happened irl so it’s kind of on the back burner.

For the Hornet Journal Series: I plan to post the remaining entries after I come back from my month long break. Whether I work on them during that month long break totally depends on how I’m feeling. But there may be a likely chance I work on a few here and there on my own time! But regardless, I do plan to finish this project. So no worries!

For Hornet’s Strange adventures: I know it’s been ages since this particular project finished on the blog. Development for the free game is slow going since I’m working on this project entirely by myself with a game engine I’ve never used before. Progress is being made but it’s unfortunately slow thanks for irl conflicts. But, just like the journal series, I do plan to finish this project so I promise it won’t be abandoned!! I just need a break first lol.

REASON #4 - okay. now on to the realest reason. drag up a chair and sit down, cause i’ve got explaining to do.

i’m a teenager, and with the glimmering era of adolescence comes with the ache for a cash. for a job. a way to make money. so they can buy the things they want, save up for college, save for a car/things for their vehicles, buy gifts for the folks they care about. it comes when you come of age, y’know? you wanna make cash.

well, i also wanted to make cash. i wanted to get an actual job this summer so that i can do those things i listed above and a couple more— i wanted to be able to help pay for things for my family. buy pet food for our pets, buy litter for the cats, etc— things that I know add up on our grocery bills. I have the blessing of being able to grow up privileged, which is something I know and thank my God for every time I pray, but while I don’t know much about my family’s financial position, I do know that it’s not the most... comfortable position for them to be in right now. we aren’t rich. we’re in the struggling middle class. 

but I had two issues stopping me from applying for a job. One was a pretty common issue: lack of transportation to get me there to work and then back home. i mightve been able to work my way around that, i’ll admit it. the second issue occurred just when i was about to apply for a local retail store this summer, early in June. I was smacked right in the face with a medical issue.

well. more like I was smacked in the knees. 

i have been having ongoing joint pain and stiffness for the past year. when it started, it was only really in my wrists and elbows. This summer, i started to hurt in my knees and ankles. Soon after that started, the pain intensified. It either felt like someone was driving a knife through my joints over and over again or like I was getting shocked with electricity that originated from one of my joints and either went up or down the affected limb. The origin of my pain unknown, and I have gone on multiple doctor visits to figure it out with no success.

i was prescribed medicine that kinda helps all of my other joints— my wrists, elbows, ankles— but it didn’t help my knees. I have been having terrible knee pain all summer long, to the point where I have been essentially bedridden because of it. I wasn’t really in a position to work, now, was I? 😅 And, even then, I still wanted to. I was even willing to try it even if my knees were in agony. However, my mom, being the fantastic mother she happens to be, didn’t let me then for the same reasons she doesn’t now: If I worked, I would be in pain all the time, and she didn’t want that for me.

so, here we are. My summer has already flown by and I have neither answers to my knee pain nor a way to make money. Which is why I came up with my one conclusion: commission work. 

I’m a kid. I want to be able to do so many different things that require money— buy proper clothes that support my clothing style, purchase supplies that support my hobbies, save up money to eventually get a car, set aside money for when i (hopefully) go to college. buy my friends actual presents for Christmas instead of trying to scrounge up my art supplies to make them something last minute. shit that a teenager wants to be able to do that my peers are able to. 

And, no, I’m not begging you for money. This would sound a lot different if I was. It’s more like… encouragement, and explaining why I’m doing comms in the first place. If you want a commission, I’ll do my very very best for you, and you can bet that I’ll put my heart and soul into it. 

So, yeah. It’d be real cool if you bought a commission from me :) <3

“Y’know moving a week before Christmas wasn’t really my best idea,” you groan as you shuffle through your closet for what feels like the tenth time. “I can’t find what I’m looking for and at this point I’m not sure it even exists.”

It's two days before Christmas and Matthew’s family is in town to celebrate the holiday with the two of you. Your parents and Quinn are also coming, your other brothers stuck in New Jersey with a game to play tonight.

“What’re you looking for?”, Matthew calls from the hallway and you groan from inside your closet.

“A green and white sweater that doesn’t make me look like I ate a bowling ball for lunch,” you sigh as you flip through the racks of your closet. “God damn it!”

“Is it striped?”, Matthew asks.

“Yes! Did you see it?”

Matthew walks into your room with the aforementioned sweater in hand but freezes. It’s then that you realize you’re only wearing leggings and a sports bra, your now very obvious cleavage and baby bump on full display.

“Let me-“

“I’ll just-“

You reach out for the sweater just as he steps forward, your bodies bumping against each other. Matthew’s hand darts out to wrap around your waist, steadying you and unintentionally bringing you closer to him. Your eyes meet and the heat burning between you two is so tangible you can feel its flames licking your cheeks.

“Matty,” you whisper as one of his hands moves up to brush against your cheek. You lean into it,

the soft touch from his calloused hands stoking the fire burning in you. “You feel so-“

“Matthew! We’re here!”

Chantal’s voice douses the fire threatening to consume both of you. You take a step away from Matthew, taking the sweater from his hands and slipping it on quickly, “I just need a few minutes to get ready.”

Matthew nods, still staring at you. He shakes his head and walks out into the living room to greet his parents and siblings. As soon as your bedroom door closes you release a breath you didn’t know you were holding. You work on grounding yourself for a few minutes before heading into the living room, immediately hearing Chantal and Taryn shrieking.

“Look at you!” Chantal gasps as she takes in your small baby bump, hands moving to the swell. “Oh you’re practically glowing, sweet girl. Your mama is gonna die when she sees you!”

You blush under Chantal’s compliments, meeting Matthew’s eyes over her shoulder. His eyes are glued to you, a dopey smile on his face as he meets your eyes. His stare confirms one thing for you; the fire between you two is still burning bright.

Your parents and Quinn arrive and your mother spends the first 20 minutes fawning over you. Brady and Quinn get into an argument about fantasy hockey while Taryn and Emma watch them with amused smiles and rolling eyes. Matthew sticks close to your side, not letting you get much further than a few feet away before he’s right next to you again.

Dinner is easy, something you’d worried about for a few days. But the way Quinn and Matthew chirp lovingly at each other across the table puts you at ease.

After dinner is finished and the boys have done the dishes you all settle into the living room to watch the Devil's game. You find yourself squeezed in next to Matthew on the couch, his arm casually swung over your shoulder as you lean into him.

“Let’s see if Jack can score me a few points in fantasy,” Brady says, leaving him, Quinn, and Matthew to begin a conversation about their league.

As you all watch the game, a strange feeling makes its way across your stomach. Your brow furrows for only a moment before a dull pain jabs you in the side and you let out a groan.

“You okay?” Matthew whispers, trying not to draw attention to the two of you as he looks you over with concern.

“I’m fine just feels-,” you’re cut off when another jab comes from the same spot. A third jab is right behind it and your eyes widen in realization. “Oh my god.”

Before he can ask more questions you grab Matthew’s hand and place it on your bump. You wait for a moment before there’s a small kick against his hand. A grin forms on his face as Matthew lets out a loud laugh, attracting everyone’s attention.

“The baby just kicked for the first time,” you explain with a smile, laughing as nearly everyone runs over to place their hands on your belly. The baby, however, decides that they don’t like the attention and instantly stops.

When everyone returns to their seats you lean into Matthew, his arm curling around your shoulder as his lips brush your forehead. His hand remains on your bump the rest of the game, both of you staying curled up with each other.

After the Devils secure their win you all share dessert before your families are excusing themselves. Your parents are flying to Jersey tonight to see Luke and Jack while Quinn is heading back to Vancouver. The Tkachuks are heading to St. Louis in the morning, leaving you and Matthew to celebrate Christmas on your own before he leaves for an extended road trip the next day.

“Dinner was delicious, you did a great job,” Matthew’s voice is soft as he comes up behind you in the kitchen, boxing you in where you’re grabbing a mug from the cabinets. “Thank you.”

You turn in his hold, smiling up at him. You two are close, only a few inches separating your faces as you stare at each other, “You’re welcome, it was fun and I’m glad everyone could come down.”

Matthew’s breath fanned across your face, his fingers coming up to brush your cheek just like he had earlier. Your eyes fluttered closed, relishing the feeling.

“You look beautiful,” he whispers. “So pretty, especially carrying my baby. You’re glowing.”

The words have an instant effect on you, a sigh leaving your lips in contentment. You know your panties are damp without having to check, your second trimester hormones having your body on edge all the time.

“Matty…,” you whisper, eyes fluttering open as you meet his dark gaze. You’re both so close to breaking the tension between you and letting the fire burn. But there’s hesitation still and you know Matthew can see it in your eyes.

“I’ll see you in the morning,” he whispers as his lips brush your forehead softly. “Goodnight.”

“Goodnight,” you murmur as you watch Matthew disappear down the hall. When you hear his door click shut your head falls back against the cabinet and you let out a loud sigh. “Well… fuck…”

I’ve been thinking of making this post for a while and honestly, I figured I should just make it instead of hoping someone reads my mind because that’s just generally not a thing that happens

Unfortunately, I wasn’t that productive when writing over winter break as I had hoped which is to be expected, it’s cold and miserable and dark all of the time + Christmas and spending time with family. And sadly, I have exams in February, and the real deal in May/June. That means that unfortunately, updates are likely going to be MUCH less frequent for Sincerely, Your Brother.

And that. Sucks! I think everyone who I’ve talked to knows how dear this AU is to me, considering I talk about it all the time. So that’s why I’m spinning around in my metaphorical businessman office chair or whatever it’s called like a cartoon villain.

Truth is, with Sincerely Your Brother being such a convoluted AU, I’ve always wanted slightly alternate ways to tell the story (while still updating the main fic, obviously) like through art. However, if I don’t have the motivation to write, who says I’ll have the motivation to draw? At least writing doesn’t hurt my neck. (Not saying I won’t draw anything, it’s just not ideal)

Granted, I’m not likely to spill any massive cans of beans like the truth behind what happened to Jack or who Arcade TRULY is unless you’re like, due for execution tomorrow and therefore unable to tune into the rest of the fic.

I generally just want an excuse to talk about it more, especially with school making me too busy to write soon enough. I have talked to no one about the unwritten details of this fic besides maybe two friends, one who isn’t into dsaf at all and another friend who’s a reader and therefore is being kept secrets from. I don’t really give clues in my replies to comments save for like one occasion because since it’s a mystery, I want people to figure things out without my input. However, if you WANT my input, I’m putting it out there that you’re just free to ask about it (mainly writing this post because I’ve seen a certain misconception in comments that I can definitely understand how people came to that conclusion, but I’m too shy to correct on it)

Hi guys!! Sorry I haven’t been active for a while, just wanted to check in since it’s been like half of a month lool

I was taking a break from tumblr and drawing in general to focus a bit more on school, but now I think I’m stuck in art block which is poo cause I wanna draw now rgrgrggr 😡😡😡

But I figured I could share with you my upcoming projects that I’ll be working on sooner or later:

✦first I have some asks, about 4-6 of them I can’t can’t remember how many :V I’ve been trying to work mainly on 3 of them, but haven’t really gotten anywhere :c

✦Second I have a silly comic idea I want to draw soon. featuring the baby boy- well it’s mainly about Dream and swap but baby boy will be there too- I’m waiting to start after I respond to at least 1 or 2 asks

✦I want to do something for Christmas, prolly nothing big but something simple and sweet, which I’m aiming to post it on Christmas or the day before(I’m thinking of drawing sum ship kids for this one :>)

✦I have super cute Dreamberry drawing idea, I’m hoping to make it animated(gif)!! Have no clue when I’ll make this but I really am excited about the idea and I hope I stick with it

✦finally, I was also thinking I could do art dump for end of the year- kinda like a new year special—idrk(not posted drawings, unfinished pieces & decent doodles)

And that’s all for now, I’m hoping to get this all posted before the end of the year, I do have a break coming too, which will be awesome so I can have more time to draw but ya-

When did you start playing Choices? What was the first book you played? 

I think it was in 2018, and I first played Bloodbound 1. 

When and why did you join Choices fandom?

It was December 2020. I was really struggling at that point; my whole life had changed, and I still hadn't come to terms with it after a year. It was just an escape. 

How did you pick your blog name? 

It’s just my name and what I do.

It’s just a pfp i did over halloween. It’d me dressed like Sally from Nightmare before Christmas. 

Do you write fanfiction, create fan art, or are you one of those really gifted people who do both? 

I used to want to be a writer. I really love writing stories, I’ve never really written any fanfiction, but technically, I can draw and write. 

How long have you been creating for Choices and for any other fandoms?

It’ll be four years in December since I’ve been creating Choices-related stuff, but ever since I was a little kid, I’d get obsessed with different shows/ characters and write/ draw them. 

What is your favorite Choices book, and what is your favorite Choices book to create for?

My favourite book is definitely Bloodbound. I love drawing BB related stuff because I have a slight obsession with Kamiliah 

Share your first Choices fanfic or fan art that you posted with us. Do you still like it, or would you change it if you were creating it today?

It was a drawing I did for @ao719. I think I would change a lot if I were to draw it now. I don’t really like it anymore, and my style has definitely changed over the years.  I find it really embarrassing looking back at old drawings. 

What is your favorite piece of fiction or art that you created? 

A BB animation (I still haven't finished), but it was really fun writing the story and designing/ drawing everything. 

Do you have a creation that you didn’t expect to be well received, but it was? What about one you expected to do well but found it could use a little more love?

I never expected any animations to do well and was very surprised when they did. I’m really sure that I would like to get more attention. 

If you could only draw one style or type of art for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? 

I don't know. I’m moving into my own flat soon, so I’ve been drawing some scenery pieces I’m going to put up once I’m there. I find them really therapeutic to draw, so maybe that. 

Do you ever recognize yourself in any of your MCs?

Sometimes. 

What element of art do you struggle with most?

Probably finishing the pieces off. By that point I’ve stared at it for so many hours that all I can see are  the problems with it. 

Do you have any neglected work you really want to finish?

Absolutely, I’m going through a lot right now so there’s quite a lot of things that i really do want to finish but i just dont have the motivation. 

If someone you know in real life (who isn’t involved in fandoms) asked to see your work, would you let them? If yes, what would you show them first? 

Maybe. My big brother taught me how to draw, so occasionally, I’ll let him look at some of my drawings. 

16 - Are there any writers (published authors and/or fanfic writers) who influenced your writing or art? Are there any artists that influence you?

I can’t think of anyone published that I looked up to or have really inspired my artwork. There’s definitely people that i know in my life that have. 

Which one of your creations would you like to see fiction written about? 

I have absolutely no idea lol 

Do you write original fiction or create non-fandom art? 

Yeah, I love creating new characters and really animations doing animations of my original characters.

What other hobbies do you have?

A lot of crafty things. I was taught how to sew, knit, and crochet as a kid, and those are things I still enjoy doing now.

I have retuned with more fanart, but this is specifically for “Earth, Comet, Eclipse” in which there was a line about cuddling and stuff and I HAD to draw it! I was going to add the moon lamp and everything but I decided to just turn it into a little moment rather than the 2 panel comic that I had in mind. (it would’ve went the same way anyway; maybe I’ll make it in the future.) Do I know anything about perspective still? Nah. Don’t even get me started on arms or muscles or anything that means I would have to actually learn something.

Art struggles aside, God. Their love sickens me.

ALSO! I should’ve put it in quotes, but the sentences above are from the song “Um, It’s Kind of a Lot” by Will Wood. I had it on loop the entire time I was drawing this so I was like “Why not fill in the empty void with words because that always seems to work?”

Anyway, I’m totally doing another fanart thing for Halloween and Christmas because not only would it be cool, but it would force me to learn a little more. And I’m excited to draw everyone together eventually! I can’t stop speaking oh my God just one last thing: next up on my list is Isa’s Berserk form because IT’S AWESOME.

The 13th Day of Writemas 🤶🎅🍒❤️🎀🛷

Another day of Writemas thanks to @agirlandherquill 💚🤍🫂 I feel that Friday the 13th in December isn't so scary because the Christmas cheer cancels out bad luck, and because I have bad luck everyday anyway 😄

For the Day 13 Writing Prompt list, I chose the narration prompt: "The damage was done. The ruin irreparable. It would leave scars and plenty of them, but at least, along with the pain, there remained a story to tell." I liked this and thought of how I could use it in the opening of Brigid Aideen. This novel is a YA Scifi fantasy superhero story. I tried to write Draft 1 about ten years ago, but it miserably failed. So now I'm going to try again. I like how these writing prompts have helped me work on Draft 2 AND Draft 3 of my main WIP and helped me get started on three other WIPs. Ah 2025 will be a fun year 😃Content warning: The story deals with a sensitive topic. I'll be careful with what I sample and post.

Chapter 1

That’s me, the dark-haired teenage girl you see on the hospital bed in the trauma center. You may see that my eyes tell of the invisible blows hitting my essence. I curl in a fetal position and cry. I tell the hospital staff to leave me alone. I know I need to see a counselor soon. No backstroke or healing touch can stop a girl’s cry. I know that I’m not alone among the other patients - women and girls who emerged from the darkest moments of their lives. I still feel alone. I don’t understand why I had to survive to live with this hell in my head. I look back to the moment mere hours ago that changed my life forever and brought me here. The damage was done. The ruin, irreparable. It would leave scars and plenty of them, but at least, along with the pain, there remained a story to tell. And so I tell that story, all the way to where it began. How did I come here? How did this all happen? Where did I come from? How did everything come down to this? Why? Who am I really? Why don’t I bleed when reason says that I should? Imagine a slim, dark-eyed sixteen-year-old girl, nervously carrying a box of Mom’s favorite Delft Blue up the stone stairs to the new house. That same ginger-haired mother carries my crying two-year old sister right behind me. My dark-haired Dad carries a box of books. My younger brother closest to my age, who looks almost exactly like our dad, carries the Samsung TV. My other frisky junior high brother carries the boxed bookshelf that will house the books in my Dad’s box. My little sister and little brother play on the lawn, him proudly holding the ball that our youngest sister cried over losing. Actually, I have to go back further to what my brother said before hell broke loose. We are in our family van, big enough to hold my parents and us six kids. Dad is driving. Twelve year old Tyler sits in the passenger seat, playing Skyrim on his Switch. Mom is in the middle seat with the two youngest, six year old Roger drawing in a color book while two year old Ashley eats her Cheerios. In the back, nine year old Kathy sits by the window reading Anne of Green Gables. Fourteen year old Patrick sits in the middle, reading a Naruto book. As for me, I’ve held two things for much of our trip. My Samsung Galaxy in one hand. My lacrosse stick in my other hand. When I’m not looking at the things in my hands, I’m looking out the window. Watching the country before me has given me a lot of time to think. Did Paula stop caring for me? Did she have a problem that she never told me? Will Alana continue to message me? Will I share her pictures in my lacrosse gear at my new school? Will Alana dump me like Paula did? What is my purpose in life? I swing around my stick. I’m going to show my new school that I’ll be a rockstar player. ____________________________________________________________

I’m actually working on a short house hunted animatic and I have a few sketches with more ideas for John Doe comics. I’ve got a lot more free time now Christmas is over so I’ll be drawing and posting more soon!

Hiiiiiiii ❤️ not sure much of a reach I have here but I think I’ll try to post this in case anyone is interested!

I have lots of things coming up soon that I have to pay for so I am offering rapid sketch commissions! I will draw basically whatever you want and you can request as many things as you want for me to sketch and I’ll try to get through all of them!

Each sketch is $5 (+$2 per extra character) and I also added upgrades! If you want to add lineart or colors I’m able to do that too! DM me if you are interested!!

I already paid for my college class tuition on my credit card (around $2,600) and I’m not sure if my work can reimburse me yet, so I might be paying for it out of pocket because I did not qualify for any financial aid.

My top surgery is coming up on April 8th (we had to reschedule it twice so hopefully this is the final set date 🙏) and in a copay estimator, it said with my insurance, that the copay for top surgery would be around $2,400. If I’m not able to raise enough money to pay for it via commissions, donations, or just my general income, I will probably do a payment plan and continue to pay it off as time progresses.

I have to order restocks and new stock for my Etsy, and with a shipping estimator, it’ll cost around $381 for everything + $98 shipping (around $479 ish total) my goal was to order everything before Christmas, but I might have to wait a bit before I can put the money down towards it.

Lastly is just general necessities. I drive 30-35 ish minutes everyday both ways to and from work so I am always using lots of gas. I also usually spend around $40-80 a week on groceries depending on what all I need. So some of the money might be put towards these things! (I also do have an occasional little treat where I get milk tea or chipotle ❤️)

I work full time and have a steady income, so I wouldn’t say these are emergency commissions, but any dollar given to me is highly appreciated and makes my life significantly easier!

I wanted to be transparent on all the money I need and what all I’m putting money towards so I don’t feel guilty not being 100% honest 💀
