My favourite thing about writing AUs is the research and planning. I’ve studied about rocket science, solar science and theories on gravity, for my Interstellar AU. I’m currently reading about sustainable energy and natural construction for my next AU. Both of these things are easier than ….actually writing the story lol.

A Whumper with fire powers branding their Whumpee not just with their name or initials, but their handprints.

Two palms scarred against either side of Whumpee’s neck, fingers wrapping around their throat in a collar that can never be removed. Hands on their sides, just below their broken ribs, a touch that will never relent. Fingers wrapped around their wrists in shackles that won’t be unlocked. A handprint against their face, cupping their cheek that had already suffered so many punches. The small of their back. A single hand just between their shoulder blades. Dragging down their thighs.

Just. Branded handprints.

What would you say is your biggest piece of advice when making a comic?

..asking for a *cough* friend-

Make a story where you are the main audience

Sure getting nice comments from people who are excited to see your updates or discussing what happens next is nice and all but your #1 fan should be yourself above anyone else. Write what you want to write not what others suggest you do or believe is the right way.

Don’t be discouraged by people who think you’re writing something wrong, that’s their opinion and if they think you’re wrong they should go out and make their own story, free will and creativity are free it only takes determination to create something of your own.

And finally, it doesn’t matter what skill level you are at, storytelling is its own art form, just having the will to make something is amazing on its own, it’s your own little world that no one else is privy to, create for it and no matter what people will be able to see how much you care for it and will get invested in it, and even if they don’t it is still something of your own and you should cherish it, it is a small part of your heart after all.

It’s because I’m creating for myself that I’m able to pump out so much art for this AU, because I want to see what happens next, I want to evolve this little world of my own, and even if I had no one else who liked this AU I would still create for it.

You have to love what you are doing.

(Also rest when you get bored of the comic, it happens, it will happen. And if the time ever comes when you can’t keep writing for it, then stop, like I said you are your main audience, and if you’re not having fun with the comic anymore then it is time to rest and maybe even move on to something else. It happens, never feel bad about it, just keep on moving to the next fun thing👍.

Kinda random but I’m sick of characters learning that they were created for a single purpose and then having an identity crisis. Like that’s fine, but I want characters learning their purpose and being obsessed with it. They learn that they were born to k*ll someone and they become OBSESSED with doing that.

I like how whenever I watch AstralSpiff or Backseat play a new Poppy Chapter it’s pretty clear what game that they devs had been playing before hand lmao,, Chapter 4 being very clearly referencing to the Resident Evil 4 underground factory insect fights with how it was framed

My favourite detail in OOTP is when Harry finds Sirius at the dining hall Crookshanks is curled up in his lap. Like he’s surrounded by people screaming at him about “Dumbledore’s instructions”, not allowed to go outside cause the ministry and Death Eaters are gunning for him, he’s being called irresponsible and reckless and he’s brushing it all aside cause boy does he know how to deal with people screaming at him in this house, any regardless: he’s still got Crookshanks. He’s got Buckbeak and they remain Sirius’ first and last line of defence

Harry felt something brush against his knees and started, but it was only Crookshanks, Hermione’s bandy-legged ginger cat, who wound himself once around Harry’s legs, purring, then jumped onto Sirius’s lap and curled up. Sirius scratched him absentmindedly behind the ears as he turned, still grim-faced, to Harry.

Harry did not mention his vague suspicions to Sirius, whose cheerfulness was evaporating fast now that Christmas was over. As the date of their departure back to Hogwarts drew nearer, he became more and more prone to what Mrs. Weasley called “fits of the sullens,” in which he would become taciturn and grumpy, often withdrawing to Buckbeak’s room for hours at a time. His gloom seeped through the house, oozing under doorways like some noxious gas, so that all of them became infected by it.

been trying to rack my brain as to why every fic I go to write ends up becoming another unfinished wip, sitting in my Google docs and I’ve realized it’s bc I really am not confident in my work anymore. I also have been having trouble w getting ideas to stick and really feeling out of place on here and idk if I should just abandon it altogether or what.

Sorry for not replying to some of your guys’ asks lately! I get distracted very very easily, so pls don’t think I’m ignoring you!! 💗

Anyways, I’ve posted for Tate and Kai recently, so I’m gonna do some requests for the other evans! Here’s what I have so far:

• {{user}} is Kit’s therapist at the asylum. He’s desperate for you to believe his story about the aliens and that he isn’t bloodyface.

• frat!Kyle or frankenkyle being upset with {{user}} for using a word/doing an action that unintentionally triggered him, and you have to fix things.

((This will probably include dark themes but I’ll try to be as respectful as possible when making this!

• Stan Bowes bot based on the song ‘Off to the Races’ by Lana Del Rey

• Luke Cooper goes to get coffee for his coworkers, but he comes back with the wrong order for everyone, except {{user}}

I’ll try my best to complete all these requests here (and work on the plethora of other Tate and Kai requests I have after), but sorry in advance if I take too long! Just in case.. I already have a new Colin bot prepared, buuut I’m not sure if anyone would be into it 😅

I see this comment like 5 times a day in fic writing spaces lol

a scene that you don’t want to write is a scene you don’t want to read. don’t write stuff you don’t want to read.

me, personally: wait until the scenes that get you to that first initial scene you were excited about are just as interesting as that scene too. it won’t be the first, second, or third thing you think of. if u have a scene you really want to write, write that, and keep writing only those exciting scenes that come to you. eventually you have a million interesting scenes for your fic and they become puzzle pieces for you to arrange and then eventually the strings come together and you realize you really do have an interesting way to get to that original scene, and you’re just as excited to write it, if you haven’t already written it when you were brainstorming other scenes earlier in the writing process that you didn’t even realize could carry your story like that.
