also the overalls on Kafka, her in a suit is always so nice, like I need to put on her tie for her and adjust her collar and kiss her goodbye before she goes to kill a ton of people. When she comes home yank her by the tie and kiss her dumb, and the overalls are coming off. Also she’s drinking again, she went to the bar immediately. I rewatched her trailer, like ik she killed all the guards but I need to be one of them, especially the one at the end, idc if I’m gonna get shot, like her pose, the legs? if Kafka did that to me…I would not survive. And I saw a screenshot of her from like an early game trailer like an anime opening type thing with her name in the background …her legs, omg I need her so bad.

I checked her other replies and it was biographical films and she said “I also enjoy the feeling of reading about and watching others' lives” which makes sense, she def likes analyzing people’s lives and stuff smth smth I don’t like the idea of a movie being made abt me w the director’s interpretation of me, which I thought was interesting, bc obv she’s an “actor” if Elio is the director. And the other one is sci-fi and she says smth like they’re set in the future but the past is repeated in the future. Which is silly bc sci-fi still existing in hsr like what are sci-fi movies abt there? I got gifted lavender oil, to help relax my brain or smth, and makes it easier to sleep, so hopefully that helps too.

learning stuff about her makes me smile so big like of course she enjoys getting in people’s heads it’s her whole thing… did she actually say that she wouldn’t want a movie made about her… it makes sense, since she keeps everyone at a distance and keeps her cards close to her chest no one could know her well enough to understand her fully, so their interpretation of her would never be true to the source material. i really love how mysterious she is and how much effort that goes into staying that way like shes so silly😭 i would argue that elio is also an actor though, he doesn’t control her and hes also just “destiny’s slave”. the scripts/possibilites are already written, he just relays them and twists them to his advantage.

the line about the past repeating itself in the future also makes sense considering that she follows the path of finality, in a “we come from the earth we’ll go back to the earth” kind of way… she also says something similar in a voice line (the past and the future are so similar to each other. i’m indifferent towards them) and im starting to understand what she means by that, even tho im still a little confused about what future she’s talking about. cause she clearly cares about hers lol

Continuing the rewatch onto season 2. This is my first time watching the show on dvd and honestly it’s so fun seeing the menus and watching the extra stuff and also- getting to listen to Trocadero. That’s the best part man fucking love Trocadero.

then oop sonic boom came out- watched it a bit (not so enthusiastically I didn’t like it at first- not the character design or attitude or anything- I especially HATED how dumb they made my boy knuckles 😭 listen I was still pretty young HSHSHS)

but then I discovered some really funny sonic YT channels- my favorite one and I still watch now is SonicSong182 - they’re so silly and I love everything bout this channel XD I recommend (at some point they were also part of my childhood pf) and I just discovered it again last year!!! My inner child was STIMMIIIIING more so knowing that one of my close friends know this channel too :D!

and then the first and second sonic movies came out AND BOYYY THEYRE SO GOOOOOOOOD AUGHHH I need to rewatch them just to refresh memory AND to be more hyper for Sonic 3 :]

and now college me is gonna watch sonic 3 — like ngl im so happy to live through this and im so so happy Sonic never really died and I never really lost interest in it at all,no matter what,im just thankful Sonic made my childhood,made my teenage hood,making my adulthood,and still making my inner child so happy Yanno?

but okay let’s play, LOL. War Paint was one of the very first BNHA x Reader fics I ever read so I will always be fiercely loyal to it!!! Saying that, and I mean this with nothing but absolute love Andy, DONT @ ME, but reading War Paint gave me less Mulan vibes and more Song of the Lionness ones.

(Simplifying it—really simplifying it—a girl pretends to be her twin brother so she can train as a knight! There’s lots of magic and even some romance and Tamora Pierce has been one of my favourite authors since I was a kid!)

I think it has to do with the fact that War Paint is focused on barrack/training/castle life and the subplot with the thief—whereas when I think of Mulan, I think of war.

Mulan is one of my favourite 🅱️isney movies!!! I first saw it when my primary school had a fundraiser—they set up a projector and screened Mulan and I very distinctly remember being overwhelmingly excited as the opening credits started (I nearly choked on my red twists/twizzlers) and my Dad telling me I had to be quiet LOL. If I had to make a graphic showcasing all the fundamental pieces of media to both my personality and who I became as a person, Mulan would be centre of it. 🥹

Tbh, I’d never seriously tackle a Mulan-inspired fic just out of respect for Andie Trousers Multipled by Several, but if I did, I would absolutely play hard into the war angle LOL. Maybe even indulge in some war crimes!!! You know that scene where they finally make it to the village in the pass and it’s been burnt to the ground? Yeah. Yeah. 😌 I think we can ramp that up. Have our Reader and Captain Bakugou & Co engage in some Revenge War Crimes. People are bastards in wars already, without feeling justified about it. I was literally just watching a documentary the other week about some Aussie soldier who’s facing trial (has faced trial?) for being an absolute cunt—one of his lighter cruelties involved him shooting a family’s tied-up dog as he searched their home, so take that, take the power people feel like they have when you give them a weapon and a uniform, and then put them in front of a massacred village and see what happens next. 🔪

And idk id guess there’d be a romance in there somewhere too. 💀💀💀💀 tbh im more interested in the war tho LOL. (BECAUSE!!!! LISTEN!!! i like a challenge!!!!!!!! And I think trying to fic-ify an AU that dovetails closely to the (🅱️isney) Mulan tale brings up a lot of interesting questions when it comes to world-building, and like what you need to avoid/honour, especially if you’re borrowing from an actual, real world culture for it. The Mulan legend is Chinese, for starters—and My Hero has a Japanese cast written by a Japanese man. So, okay, maybe to simplify things for ourselves we Fantasy-AU it—but then do we eurocentric the world around them, to play it safe? Is that less playing it safe and more whitewashing? My Hero being Japanese informs the canon characters, which are traits that spill over into our fanon. Traits that we love! So is it a disservice to them to strip them of it, just so we can play War? Does this stripping make it worse when we bring in atrocities like slain villagers, and revenge acts? Do we honour canon by letting them keep their Quirks? How badly does that ramp up things then???? Like, idk, I could literally bang on about this for hours (and have, in the group chat LMAO im sorry besties 😭))

This is literally too much overthinking for your ask, Hansy, I’m sorry. 😭 ITS IMPORTANT THO. Because the world around them informs our characters!!!! So pretending we sort all that out, now we have our upstart, hot-as-shit Captain Bakugou, who has idolised General Toshinori for years now—and he’s out to prove he can train the best of them!!! Except he’s working with like, farm boys! Gutter-rats, given the choice of this or execution! Maybe there’s a cohort of like, genuine scrappers, but Captain Baku here has deliberately been given the bottom of the conscript list: this is a test. And I!! Personally!!! Think that should make him an utter bastard when dealing with our Reader!!! I think in canon, Bakugou is like, learning that people need more than to be told “u suck, do better” so I like to believe Captain Bakugou would try—maybe he and his lil friends learnt hard in a trial by fire when they were kids, during the First War—so he’s earnt this leadership role. But he’s used to fighting with peers! Peers that knew what they were doing! And now he has to oversee the training of like, the most inept civilians he’s ever witnessed! I think we could justify him losing his cool—specifically with our Reader. 😌

A Reader who doesn’t take it!!! I’ve always liked that in 🅱️isney’s Mulan, she does it for her father. So I’d give that same motivation to our Reader—a tomboy who’s always been better at giving the village boys a run for their money in their little games, who’s always wanted to go and play with them when they roughhouse. Maybe to make things more interesting, we introduce a fiancé—one of those same village boys! They grow up together, have an arranged match. Maybe he’s genuinely kind, in love with Reader whereas Reader’s just kinda like, ho-hum—but then the War pt. 2 rolls in, and he’s swept off in the first round of conscription (so that there’s no one left to volunteer in Reader’s place for her dad, in the next round!).

Oh. You know what? We could ramp up that massacred village scene by making his platoon or whatever they’re called the ones that were stationed there—so Reader finds fiancé’s helmet!!!!! And then she’s all like, omg, 😧. And then she could tie it to her saddlebags and eventually bring it home to his folks. 🥺

(Reader and Bakugou could prop themselves up in their grief, maybe? Because I know in the film the stationed army is overseen by Li Shang’s father, right? So maybe in this version it’s like, idk, Jeanist or Edgeshot or something. Maybe Endeavour? Less because I think Bakugou would be cut up about it, and more because that means we could throw Todoroki in there as well, like, presumed dead (and then he’s NOT because I know Andy would have my head if I killed off her Special Angel Man in a fic!!!), but then that means in the meantime that Bakugou can mourn one of his besties (and they are besties!!!)).

I don’t want a dumbass Bakugou, either, so I think we’d have to follow Andy’s lead and have our Captain clue in early-on that Reader has been lying about their identity. And Bakugou just admires tenacity so he’s less like omg my gendernorms are being called into question and more like FUCK why won’t this useless extra get better at FIGHTING??? That could also maybe make any romantic moments kinda interesting—Reader could have this whole internal thing of, oh my God, he doesn’t know the truth, I’m terrible, is he going to be embarrassed when he finds out??? And then you have the actual reveal—someone else making the discovery, and wanting Reader executed for it, and then Bakugou’s refusal to do so is less a begrudging “you saved my life, and now my debt is paid” and more a silent confession of his feelings!!!!

I just—there’s so much you could do!! There’s so much you could do with all of that!!! Urk!!!! I wanna rip into it with my TEETH. I just—aJFDLKSFJLKSDFJLdmfhfskdmhj.

Wow I can’t believe that 2023 is now (almost) over. So much has happened this year and in retrospect I am quite glad about all of it, even what first seemed negative. Just a short overview:

I finished my apprenticeship and everything that came with it (final project, diploma celebration, graduation trip, finishing school etc)

Started a new job after the apprenticeship (tho in the same company) and the team is so nice.

The name change on Tumblr and definitely cutting all strings to HP

Instead getting back into LOTR and Star Trek that were two old fandoms

Therefore also picking up 3 old fanfics again and actually publishing or continuing them

The Russell discord gaining more life and finding all those amazing friends there, love you so much folks!

And generally having made a few more friends on Tumblr/deepened friendship with others, you all are SO. AMAZING. too.

Getting in to gifmaking and finally gaining more traction for my blog again

Started reading (more) books again and love it just as much as I used to years ago.

Started a second blog about mental health and all because I did research and self diagnosed myself (I might share that later when I feel ready)

And in relation to this of course having learned a lot about myself

Also can’t believe I turned 25 that year, like wow in my head I’m still 20 or so.

Getting back into drawing and actually starting to like it

Changing a medicine recipe that gives me less side effects and therefore improving life-quality

Getting diagnosed with leg length discrepancy and being prescribed inlays for my shoes that I need to wear everyday now.

Downloading a Self-care app that gives me life routine and all and motivates me to do stuff I always postponed or forgot

And of course watching a lot more Russell Crowe movies (and rewatching known ones)

Emotional rollercoaster like all the time since summer

Getting an assessment talk at a therapist for next year that if everything goes well I can get into therapy (and get an official diagnosis)

and of course a lot more, like tiny little things everyday that often moved me deeply

Would like to tag all fantastic people I met that year but I’m sure I’d forget some and wouldn’t want anyone to feel left out.

And even if we only shortly or never interacted in 2023 or before I still love you and wish you all the best for  the coming year!

Just Watched Suzume no Tojimari

“Ru ru rururururu rururu rurururururu” *shivers*

A high school girl meets a guy who locks doomed door across Japan in order to spare it from devastating earthquakes. He gets turned into a chair and she helps him to finish the mission and find a way to turn him back.

No, I didn't lie. He turns into a chair. A cute chair.

I love that door in the middle of a deserted pond that shows in the promotional material a lot. It gives an eerily beautiful aura. Probably the best one spot in Shinkai's entire filmography.

Story wise, it's a Shinkai story, a Shinkai movie. Similar plot structure, similar prettier-than-real-life animation, that's what you gotta expect. I came to the theater with that expectation in mind.

I feel like it's almost a Tenki no Ko 2.0. Ranking Shinkai movies after 2015 (which all have the same basic plot), I like this movie more than Tenki no Ko though. But personally I still enjoy Your Name the most, both from storyline and the main leads' relationship dynamic.

I don't need to talk about this movie’s animation, though. It's PRETTY.

I like that it turns into a road trip adventure. There is always something heartwarming to know that there are strangers who are kind and willing to help. Like, it's not all "Bystander Syndrome" out there.

SOUTA-SAN! SOUTA-SAN! SOUTA-SAN! (You gotta call him three times) HE IS SO PRETTY. Now if someone falls for him at the first sight (read: Suzume) I'd get it very much. I do, too.

Suzume is really out there crossing half of Japan just to help some guy she finds on the street. Not gonna blame her though. Survivor’s guilt is an actual thing.

I understand Daijin is supposed to be cute but hell if I don’t want to smite him just like Souta. And then the second act comes. Now even I feel a bit sorry for him.

The real MVP is Aunt Tamaki, not gonna lie.

Please give me more of Serizawa's backstory. Like, how did he even become BFF with Souta?

There is a Famitsu article where Shinkai says he is now more interested in exploring other kinds of relationships that's not romance. That's why he gives more depth about Suzume and her aunt Tamaki's relationship, and it shows. I cried twice because of two important scenes between Suzume and Tamaki. Those are just very emotional to me.

Indeed, when you get older, you become more open to new interests and have new perspectives. Like when I rewatched Children who Chase Lost Voices and decided that it was the most interesting Shinkai movie to date (link is spoiler tho).

Suzume and Souta –the main relationship– while definitely not bad, are pretty straightforward. I think it’s because they are respectful and polite to each other, as they both use "-san" towards each other. (As far as I remember, they are the first Shinkai movies couple to do so, and I like it.). But maybe because of that politeness (and their problem is basically the same as many Shinkai couples), it’s easy to think the relationship is rather plain. Funnily enough, even though I also think it’s plain, I can somehow appreciate it. 

The saving graces are Souta is goddamn pretty, Suzume wears different clothing and hairstyles, hurray for THAT height difference, two things.

One, it is explained (or rather, shown) why Suzume says what she says when she first meets Souta. It's not a cheesy one liner. 

Two, Suzume can empathize with Souta’s dangerous missions and says it. I think it is actually a huge thing for Souta himself. I wish it’s more explored, as well as his own story from before he meets Suzume. 

The OST is great, as always. Radwimps is onboard again, this time even stronger!

So imo “Suzume” and “Tamaki” are about, well, Suzume and Tamaki respectively. While “Kanata Haluka” at first glance is for Souta from Suzume, but I think there are 1 or 2 lines that can be interpreted as for Suzume from Souta as well.

Having the theater as my personal stereo to listen to “Suzume” and “Kanata Haluka” is a huge plus. They are definitely gonna end up in my Spotify Wrapped 2023.

TL;DR Apart from the harem, Chairem anime becomes real and in super HD.

I’m comfort rewatching IWTV and just My God. I was so weary going in but I’m so inlove with this adaption. I’m glued to my tv again like the first time.

As a bi person with Louisiana creole ancestry, Louis being a gay creole black man just made this story so much more personal, it amplifies this world for me.

I didn’t even like book Louis, always been a Lestat gal (yes yes I know he’s problematic, a pretty package of red flags and yes he’s crazy.) (and yes I adored TC as Lestat, otherwise eww to TC) I appreciate both portrayals of Lestat, and the differences. I love them both.

This adaption and Jacob have made me like a character I previously didn’t care for at all. Except for when he says Armand is the love of his life cause come on 🙄 stop lying Louis. BP as Louis in the 90s was pretty to look at, def ultimate emo goth pretty boy but he always felt like he didn’t want to be there to me. Learning later he didn’t made so much sense.

And Sam as Lestat 😍💐💐💐💐

I didn’t care for book or movie Daniel, he was annoying esp in the movie, but older Daniel in the show ??? Fucking perfect. I love that choice and hope we see more flashbacks of him younger.

I loved KD as Claudia, even if I didn’t agree with Claudia as a character at certain points, but Bailey sky rocketed that character to the fucking moon for me. Standing ovation girl. Why can’t you come back for s2????? 😩😩😩

I first came upon Anne Rice as a teen, reread my favs over the years since then. Secretly wrote fics (anyone around at that time will understand why) I was totally wrapped up in the late 90s craze with my friends. Now, at 39, I have this version and it’s a gift I didn’t know I needed and never imagined I’d get.

Plus this version gave me Lily, so thank you. And I can finally use my long time obsession with Storyville in writing. 😁

Soap opera: picard ep 3

You know that moment? That moment where picard and beverly are standing in silence for a few beats too long to be comfortable across the room from each other (nice intentional usage of wide screen format, btw) and they didn’t score it so it really Was an uncomfortable silence? Half way through that silence? That’s where they should have played the eastenders theme (it is the most prolific and well known british soap opera).

anyway, the episode mvp’s were Sidney LaForge, Seven, Worf and Raffi. I love you all. 

Worf recently swallowed a self help book and i am Living for it. 

the good cop bad cop they had going on here was Impeccable. It is unfortunate that is perfectly juxtaposed the hyped up melodrama of the other part of this episode and made it look even worse by proxy. There was drama with these two, raffi’s a mess, the situation is dire (if not as immediate), but it was still personable and not over the top. There were even laughs! 

Like i get that they’re all stressed but you know that episode of snw when they’re first attacked by the gorn in that nebula? How good that was? How tense it was? How they didn’t rely on interpersonal melodrama with people being obtuse to manufacture excess drama because they realised it wasn’t needed with an already dire situation?

anyway i saw some comments @ the holo scene with Troi before i saw the ep and i was worried but it wasn’t half as bad as implied. I mean, that’s such a typical dudebro scene and my eyes are rolling so Hard but there was no sign deanna was in danger at any point in the birth. The baby can be in danger without the parent being in danger. Like, slower heartrate in utero can make doctors panic while the parent is still 100% healthy. Seems to me like they didn’t like the baby’s vitals so called Will but it turned out he was fine. (my niece did this. panicked a fair number of people for an 100% healthy baby.) 

i’m not even going to go Into the whole justification stuff here other than to say that if she was gonna do that, just have the decency to own it properly instead of whatever that was. If he forgives her in the course of this season I call bullshit. Nobody has that done to them and gets over it quickly, not after so much was lost that will never be recovered. If i liked either of them a lot, and if i shipped them properly, i’d be distraught over this turn of events. And before i get some smart ass saying she didn’t have to tell him, well Clearly she didn’t bc she’s not exactly under arrest right now, but everybody else has a right to think what they want of her for what she Did do. And it was objectively shitty to him. I don’t even like the dude and it grinds my gears.

Unless u meant what happened in the Last episode and not this once, which, fair, but instead i call bad writing bc you instinctually look for what they Just did and picard was actually right in that if they can’t run they have to fight back at that point, which is the Only reason Will actually did fight back, so yeah... 

if the entire resuscitation sequence starting from the turbo lift did not last exactly seventeen seconds i will ask them why they even bothered tbh

i was both amused by Shaw noping out of captaincy and also irritated by it. Like i get it dude, but still... I suppose i forgive him for being potentially fatally injured. The man is a class A jerk in a situation where he’s not actually in the wrong and that always grinds the gears. 

hearing seven call herself commander hansen in a rote way was weirdly upsetting. 

but really. The drama of interpersonal relationships Added onto the drama of the plot was too much. The tension between picard and beverly. the tension between picard and jack. the tension between riker and picard. The tension between beverly and the medical staff. the crew side eyeing jack. too much. Tone it down. they’re all already injured, being hunted, AND you have a changeling sabotaging you. Too much at once. 

now my ideal seven and raffi spin off involves worf being on the cast as well. Before it was the two of them and Elnor and his pet cat. Maybe Miral Paris. If we can have a baby LaForge we can have her. 

honestly i would have had way less notes for this ep if the snw one similar to it wasn’t so recent and so much better lol

anyway, i hope next week’s one won’t be as.. much... as this.

How to play the piano and the guitar, main focus is the piano though. I think I already told you but when my grandmother died my mum inherited her old piano and it’s just been sitting in my living room. So I’m learning how to play, feel kinda bad seeing it just sit there. Used to hate going over to my grandmothers so I’d just hide in the living room and play with it. I’m also learning new coping mechanisms, which is so annoying but kinda need to so I don’t disappear again🫥

ANON!! i am extremely flattered that you asked me this but I have to admit, I am still somewhat new to transformers myself dfsksdkls So far I've only seen Animated, Prime, Earthspark, and all the live action Bayverse movies including Bumblebee Knightverse. I still wanna watch G1 and the Unicron trilogy (i think thats what its called) along with Cyberverse. Plus I wanna read the comics too. Good lird there's a whole lot of 'formers. Most of what I know when it comes to the continuities I haven't seen yet have been from tumblr posts. I dont know how much you've seen or what you watched so I'll answer as though you're brand new BUT in my honest opinion I think I'd start with the G1 cartoon! Most (maybe all) of the episodes are on youtube last time I saw, and I think it's the one that captures the spirit of transformers the best. Like I said I haven't actually seen it yet but it's my favorite just from what I have seen floating around. I myself started with the Bumblebee movie which was very good and I loved it and I'm glad my best friend started with that one for me cause Bumblebee was one of the only transformers I knew (the others being Optimus Prime and Megatron) and I was like ok this is great I wanna see more AND THEN my friend had me watch the Animated series next which I also loved but it also spoiled me a little bit because it has my favorite version of Megatron and so now whenever I see a different continuity Meg i'm like "man i miss animated megan. he was the best. loved his voice." Earthspark Megatron is extremely good tho like he's sailing up to the top for me. So after G1 I'd watch either Earthspark or Bumblebee movie next. BB Movie is just a slight Bumblebee origin story (when it comes to his time on Earth, not his like. actual childhood or anything) and it focuses exclusively on him and Charlie the human girl but it's very fun and if you like Bumblebee you'd love it (hopefully) Earthspark is kinda doing it's own thing. It's post-war and focusing on new characters, but old characters are still pivotal to it and honestly the animation alone is *French Kiss*. Super nice, if you like found family themes then this will be your cake and platter because that's literally the entirety of the show. Animated is extremely good too, I gotta shout it out. Everyone looks different and the plot line is kinda to the left of the normal "Autobot vs Decepticon 4 million year war" plot. Their chins are huge for some reason. BUT IT'S GREAT, I've seen it said that it's a series that ended too soon and LITERALLY YEAH. EVERYONE WHO'S SEEN MOURNS OVER THE CANCELLED SEASON 4 OF IT. INCLUDING ME. I need to rewatch it though now that I know all the characters better from the other continuities. Prime is also good, like it's very popular from what I've seen and I did enjoy it. It's a bit more on the serious side, like the mood and the lighting and plot are all darker compared to other continuities, but the Megatron in it is just so... wacky?? if that's the word I'm looking for, but like he's so strange it's impossible to take the show seriously in my opinion KLJDFSKLDS. The characters are all beautiful even though it's a bit uncanny since in this one the bots don't have noses. I can't stand Prime Starscream tho. But that's just me, don't let what I say bias you. The Michael Bay (Bayverse) directed live action movies are... okay. Like I didn't dislike them particularly, but there's a reason why many people don't like them DSLKJSD they're not that good imo. However, I did love the Age of Extinction movie idk what it was about that movie but I rewatched it like 11-12 times and I forced like 3 of my friends to watch it with me. I loved that movie. It was the only movie out of the Bayverse ones that I liked. The best parts of those movies to me were just the scenes where the actual transformers show up, but it wasn't a lot. And those are just the ones that I have seen personally. I couldn't tell you which comic you should read first, or what other continuity you should dabble in, cause I'm still trying to get through everything myself. I don't even have one of the games yet😔BUT you can probably start anywhere and eventually the more you expose yourself to them, the more everything makes sense! Avatar the way of water

Right so, this is just gonna be me and my thoughts on the new movie. I’ll get to a few things I wanna address in this post as well because I’m indigenous( Lakota) and I feel it should be addressed. This whole thing has spoilers so if you haven’t had a chance to see it feel free to stop reading here.

The movie itself starts off so happy and endearing with the sully family, I wish I could’ve seen even more of them just being content together but this movie literally doesn’t waste time getting into action which I can appreciate but yea I wished more things could’ve been shown before the time jump.

I guess one of my biggest issues so far is that we should’ve seen more of the main cast, I hope they’ll have an extended version with more because I’m honestly just wishing there was more.

Tuk tuk - Protect at all costs

Kiri is an insanely interesting character and the depth she brings is crazy. I love her so much already, sigourney is an amazing actress for sure.

On the topic of spider, his background with quaritch was also interesting because quaritch is going to have a personal stake in it all. I’m starting to think the hate his character is getting is way over the top, he was tortured for info on the sully family and still didn’t give it up. He sabotaged the demon ship to help them when they’re fighting. He grew up around the entire sully family which is why he wears so much na’vi clothing and why Loak even suggested at the end they couldn’t leave him behind. I honestly like him as a character and I think besides being a tarzan archetype, he’s bringing something to the table for the next movies. I’m curious where him and kiri will end up together, if I’m guessing right, is it gonna be some sort of star crossed lover with kiri? Who knows but I’m interested to find out. I enjoyed spiders character dynamic with them all and the interaction between him and kiri was truly so sweet.

Loak couldn’t just stop being like a Jake mini me, his recklessness cost him way too much imo.

Neteyam my beloved I wished he could’ve had more screen time, his death hit just as hard on the second rewatch as it did the first. Sweet boy. ;_; I don’t know how but I honestly hope he’ll come back in the next movies. I wish we got to see more of his character

It was cool to see new creatures in this universe honestly, the tulkun are fascinating.

Honestly, it all looked so pretty. kiri scene with her looking like an angel was possibly my favorite scene in the whole movie.

Quaritch shivers were timbered with neytiri. A son for a son line was so cold I’m still not over it. I’m not really certain with how I feel about quaritch and that they’re setting him up to be the main villain across all of the movies but I guess we’ll just have to see where it goes. Could be good who knows. That dad joke of why so blue legit got a chuckle out of me tho Lmao

Overall, I’d rate it a solid 8.9/10. My biggest problems are that there can only be so much time to watch things in a movie theater setting and I wish more could’ve been expanded upon, not even just one particular thing, just everything in general. Neytiri needed more screen time, Jake needed more screen time. So far, that’s my main problem with it, most of the character development happens off screen. The plot was well enough in my mind, it’s obvious they’re setting it up for the next movies. Not much to critique because I mostly enjoyed it if I’m honest.

This last thing, it does need to be addressed, James Cameron’s comments on Lakota people specifically, and that guardian article that came out 12 years ago.

I totally get why some indigenous people decided to boycott it and that’s extremely valid. I was willing to set it aside to see a movie I’ve been waiting to see since the first one came out when I was 8 years old(im 21 now).

I can tell he takes his inspiration from everywhere, which is nice. What’s so weird to me is the fact in this article he singled (Lakota people) out and called it a dead end society which is really out of pocket and if his comments are outdated, an apology is overdue. Colonization is obviously a major theme with these avatar movies but to call real life indigenous people who still exist a dead end society is not only extremely ignorant but also just completely ignores Lakota and all indigenous peoples who fight against colonization to this literal very day. He makes fictional indigenous aliens then proceeds to insult ones who are still around?

All that being said, James Cameron does come from a position of power. I can enjoy his movies while also being able to separate the art from the artist. If some indigenous can’t move past these comments, I don’t blame them and I hope in the future instead of condescending, ignorant comments, there’s understanding, self education, and actual activism.

I've never seen any gameplay of darksouls 3 (the only thing I know of is that one character and she wears a mask ikyk LMAO). I would be too stressed about the batteries if I ever played outlast and being chased. I’d say I’m somewhere in the middle. We always have a huge (and real) Xmas tree and all the same decorations my family has used for all my life but we don’t do the America style lights outside etc, although our home has been compared to winter wonderland so I guess it depends on what you’re used to😩 I’m a good gift giver if I know what I’m getting for them and have a plan but if I have no ideas I’d say average. Christmas is definitely my fav holiday, yes. What about you?
