#I would have to add trigger warnings for Soul tho

Uhhh idk I think tumblr may have eated my last ask. So I'm resending.
Anyways, you mentioned how Roman had his opinion of Mind being influenced by Heart. What are the other four sides' perceptions of Heart do you think? What effects does his... behaviour have on them?
Also Soul and Mind probably either don't trust Patton or think he's way nicer than Heart lol. Soul wants to protect him in a potentially self-destructive way since he's someone else's feelings by asking him to leave them all alone, whilst Mind might respect him more cos he's known as morality. Those are my thoughts at least. Do you have any?
I feel bad for not replying to this one even tho it’s a resend so I’m gonna answer some of the additional questions here too-
Tbh you do make a good point, Mind probably would respect him more because he’s Morality, but the resemblance of his role and Heart’s just triggers something in Mind.
Which also does remind me…
When I first made this AU, I thought it’d be neat that Logan would be a robot. (I put this into my design for him but I may or may not scrap it, we’ll see.) I also headcanon that Mind has mechanical prosthetic hands, and his voice modulator is also machinery. You know what that means????
Yup that’s right Mind’s jealous!!! He thinks he should be more robotic, considering that he’s a broader concept that Logan and he’s a robot. Besides, his whole insecurity of needing to be more synthetic is just dksgdjdbsjdhsjdh. It’s part of my interpretation of him that I love and you cannot stop me from including this in the AU.
Now to your first additional question:
Also, on a scale from the most to least convinced of Heart’s manipulation, it goes: Roman, Patton, Logan, Virgil, Remus, Janus. I put Roman at the top because he does NOT trust Janus at all, who is the main one who is saying that he’s manipulating everyone. Patton views him as a son, and he trusts what people say, but yet again, he does trust Janus. Logan is below him because I feel he does notice the signs of manipulation, but he doesn’t think it’ll have any lasting consequences. Virgil is next because he was already anxious meeting Heart, and then being given proof of him being not as good as he seems threw him off. He does think Heart can change though (or at least hopes). Remus is next because he trusts Janus a lot, and he’s close with Soul who knows for a fact that Heart lies and manipulates. So he’s like “ah. I see. Welp time to give him a beating” and then comes up with cruel pranks bc he thinks Heart deserves them. Janus catches up to all the manipulation, being Deceit and all. And he also has a good enough relationship with Soul to know about Heart’s tendency to manipulate. AND he’s also close enough with Mind to get a view from his perspective, as Heart’s enemy.
When/If Heart has an outburst like he did in RoE, then shit would go DOWN.
Firstly, Logan, Virgil, Remus, and Janus would have their suspicions proved and would trust him far less than before. Logan and Virgil would still have hope, but Remus and Janus would not. Roman would have an “Are we the bad guys?” moment while Patton freaks out and lies to himself to convince himself that Heart is more than that, and that he is truly good. This would also cause Janus and Patton to argue, with Janus telling Patton to admit the facts and Patton telling Janus that Heart is more than a man who hurts people. Patton’s relationship with Mind would falter more as well.
So… yeah. Thanks for all the questions!
#I love thinking about what if HMS showed their more like#morally reprehensible side of themselves#if u want to I can ramble about that#I would have to add trigger warnings for Soul tho#because of tridential regicide if you get what I mean#anyways yeah#sanders sides#chonny jash

Yo we out here with some more Ace lives AU but i'll make them little bullet points so I dont have to write a whole essay. Enjoy my little headcanons!
Warning: Theres. So many. Im not sorry tho lmao
Ace joins the strawhats after the time skip, nobody really minds and theyre happy to spend time with luffy's older brother. He quickly becomes best friends with Nami. I just feel it in my soul that they would gossip together.
Both Ace and Luffy suffer from awful PTSD symptoms after Marineford. With Luffy, his crew eventually learn how to help him. With Ace, though, he only has Luffy to lean on for support until the crew get aquanted with him.
Actually, to add onto that bc im a sucker for acesan, Sanji is the first after Luffy to reach out during one of his bad days when even really small triggers can make Ace spiral into a panic attack.
More acesan sorry lmao. Ace is usually either out on the figure head of the sunny looking at the ocean when Luffy isnt occupying that spot, in the gallery when Sanji is working, or just out on the deck laying on the grass. He especially likes being around sanji in the gallery.
Pre timeskip Ace is extremely different than this AU's Ace because yes he's silly and carries an air of confidence with him still, but he's never shirtless around others anymore. For a long while, Ace doesnt leave the ship or pick fights. His confidence is a facade for a long time.
Depression hits ace like a truck in this AU and its only eased with the help of Luffy and Sanji. Chopper also helps the best he can with what he's got. Ace is grateful for this, and eventually his old self starts to emerge more and more. Luffy is there with him the entire time.
Ace has insomnia, but so does Sanji and Zoro. He'll hang out with them during late night hours either on watch with zoro sharing stories or with Sanji talking to him while he's doing prep work or inventory. He'll probably also fend off luffy when his little brother tries to break into the locked fridge lmao
But more funny headcanons!! Im getting depressing here sorry!! Ace will mess around with Luffy and entertain him before meal times by play fighting. Their asses will be duking it out on the deck and Chopper will be all concerned and Zoro and Nami will be like "Siblings." Like thats the most obvious answer in the world.
Tbh, the crew members with any type of sibling or sibling bond will get it. Luffy will deadass try to steal Ace's food and Ace will smack his hand lightly with haki and Luffy will dramatically exclaim how mean his big brother is.
"Ace is so mean! I'll starve to death!" "Yeah, sure, you little menace"
Ace regaining strength over his devil fruit powers by making little shapes out of fire for chopper, luffy, and usopp. Franky and brook join the group to give ace prompts. It becomes a nightly occurance at this point.
The first time he decides to go shirtless in front of the crew, they realize his old tattoo is replaced by scar tissue that covers nearly his entire back. Nobody says anything, but I think Franky and Nami would be really understanding. Also luffy. Luffy would be like "We match! Ace has a cool scar like I do!" and it reassures him but also breaks his heart simultaneously.
Ace eating nearly as much as luffy and Sanji being like "Are you sure youre not blood related? Because youre both gonna run my kitchen dry"
Ace not really having a defined role in the crew and them not really minding it. Ace floats around basically. It kind of fits him more that way since he knows a bit of everything. He'll look at maps with nami to chart a course to the next island, He'll fight alongside zoro and sanji, he'll tell usopp about different ways to use combustion and heat in weapons or ammo, etc.
Ace and nami using the power of their good looks to scam people lmao and ace being able to swindle men and women. Nami is impressed and also jealous.
Luffy growing his hair out so him and Ace match, but luffy apparently has curlier hair than Ace so its just a fluffy mess until usopp caves and teaches them how to actually take care of their hair (luffy does not absorb a single thing and ace now has to help luffy with his hair when it gets as long as his)
Ace noticing one day how zoro looks at luffy and being like "yikes...you got it bad, man" and zoro just being like "SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP-" but ace is fucking cackling and now zoro cant be too mad about that. He's still embaressed as fuck about it though.
Expanding on that actually: Ace actually being supportive because he knows how loyal zoro is. He isnt worried. Plus, Luffy is extremely strong and it takes a lot to actually hurt him. So he's like "dude you gotta just tell him straight up he is dense as hell"
Ace the ultimate wingman for zoro. Not luffy, though. That's what Nami is there for. Him an nami are definitely working together and placing bets on when and who asks who out with robin, usopp, sanji, and franky. I wont say what they chose for their bet but robin definitely wins.
BUT luffy, nami, zoro, robin, usopp and franky place bets on Ace and Sanji. Ace is never subtle. He flirts openly and is proud of it. Sanji is very subtle with ace, though. The crew immediately see past his bullshit of trying to be straight. Its painful to watch. Poor sanji is trying so hard to remain closeted but the closet is literally glass. I wont say who betted what as per my last bullet point, but surprisingly zoro won. Everyone (nami) is outraged by this incident. Luffy is here for a good time.
The crew playing card games except they learn sometimes ace cannot handle flammable objects because he will burn them accidentally. Competitive card games are now banned if ace is playing.
Ace is also banned from using his devil fruit powers while sparring on the deck. The poor grass on there has been burned so many times. Nami has kicked his ass over it.
Ace and zoro get really competitive. Not like zoro and sanji, but they'll spar without weapons and at least one of them will leave with a busted lip or eyebrow and a lecture from chopper. Theyre chill though they just forget to hold back on their punches. Ace one time used haki and had to help franky fix the deck afterwards.
#Bro...let ace heal and be happy#i have the power to write and i will use it to make ace heal and be happy#acesan#zolu#theyre mentioned but its still important to tag imo#one piece#portgas d ace#luffy d monkey#op spolier warning#ig lmao#my entire account is a spoiler warning on its own lets be honest#ace lives au#blackleg sanji#vinsmoke sanji#roronoa zoro#cat burglar nami

Day 15: No Anesthetic
Day 15! We're still running late, but it's ok! For today's, I figured, well... What can I think of for no anesthesthia? And the answer is, more An Original Mother! For most of history, women were refused anesthesthia, bc of christianity and it damning their souls or something. idrk but it works for this.
So trigger warnings for this one: Childbirth, blood, christianity (i grew up as a chistian i can say that i think), i can't think of any others but if I need to add any more please reach out!
Hope you enjoy! Please mind the trigger warnings tho
People were stupid, Elijah had just decided. They may not have the experience of her many years on this earth, but Elijah felt as though some things should be obvious. Providing labouring women with pain medication, for one. Or at least, not telling a hormonal vampire to her face that she wasn’t going to get any relief until the child was out, when she was beginning her labours.
But no, since the medical world was apparently infected with Christianity (and its various offshoots), and idiots to boot, it wasn’t allowed. She would have to suffer like this for as long as it took. There was something about an original sin, and some lady named Eve eating an apple? It ended ended up in the same place, anyways - with Elijah being refused medication to help her.
She’d eaten the idiots who’d told her, of course. They may have been compelled to tell her the truth and see if they could get it, but she still didn’t like their answer. Anyways, feeding had taken her mind off of the pain, and the building pressure in her lower abdomen. The rush of blood into her system was a welcome change, even if she’d been experiencing it for centuries now.
The midwives surrounding her made no comment on the fallen bodies on the floor, merely working around them. Elijah had compelled them to be as competent as they could with her birth - just because she could get pregnant, and birth living children, it didn’t mean that her labour was going to be easy. In fact, from her past experiences in childbirth, Elijah knew that it would be much the opposite.
She wasn’t looking forward to it, had even contemplated aborting the child when she’d first realised her pregnancy. With what had happened with her last child, Elijah knew that she would have to raise this child by herself again - but this time, her siblings would be looking for her. But she’d decided against it, in the end. Had reminded herself of how much she loved being a mother, staying in the same place for a couple decades, watching her child grow and get old and have children of their own.
Well, it had only happened with one child so far, but it had been a wonderful experience. Elijah had hoped that she would be able to share it with her siblings, last time she’d ended up pregnant, but… That hadn’t worked out as planned. She hadn’t anticipated just how jealous Niklaus would become of a child.
Hence the running this time. Elijah had left a month after she’d discovered this baby, and decided against removing it. By now, seven months later, Niklaus would have realised that she’d lied about whatever excuse she’d used to leave. They’d be on the lookout for her now, when they weren’t running from their father.
And Elijah couldn’t concentrate on the past, as the present made itself known with another strong contraction ripping through her insides. This baby was wanting out, and out now. And truthfully, Elijah couldn’t blame it. She wanted it out of her as well, wanted to hold her child in her arms for the first time in over a century and a half.
The pain was gone suddenly, letting Elijah have a slight breather. She didn’t need to breathe, per say, as a vampire not breathing wouldn’t actually kill her, but she was finding it helpful in this moment. Truthfully, Elijah wished that she could’ve trusted one of her siblings, or even her father, to be there with her. To be able to hold their hand, as she tried to push down with each contraction.
But her father kept trying to kill her siblings, and she couldn’t guarantee he wouldn’t try it with her too, especially not when she was in such a vulnerable situation. And with regards to her siblings, well… Elijah didn’t think she could trust any of them around any child of hers, not with how they’d just let their half-brother get away with throwing her son off of a balcony, because she was paying more attention to her child than to him.
So no support system here. The father was dead, or close to it - Elijah didn’t remember who he even was, but she remembered how Kol had hunted his pack down for sport. Her youngest brother loved hunting for sport, especially if it was other vampires or werewolves.
Next time, Elijah thought to herself, letting loose a pained scream with her next contraction. Next time, she’d turn the midwives before she gave birth, so when she crushed their hands as she gave birth, they’d be able to actually heal from it. Also, it would mean that she’d have at least one midwife who’d dealt with Elijah’s vampiric pregnancies before, which would be lovely.
A thought for afterwards, however, as one of the midwives announced the baby was ‘crowning’. The head was coming out, one of the other midwives explained upon Elijah’s puzzled look. Their excitement over the entire ordeal being over soon was soon turned to horror, however, as Elijah felt liquid started to gush out with the exit of the child.
Sheets were fetched and washed and fetched again, and Elijah felt herself getting weaker. She called for them to save the baby, first, and the compelled midwives exchanged a glance, but complied. They were obviously unhappy about it, but they did agree to it.
Nothing could work as well as she wanted, however. Elijah ‘died’ in childbirth, the blood seeping from where the baby had ripped its way out of her.
With her ‘death’, as well, all Elijah’s compulsions were removed. One of the midwives screamed at the sight of the dead bodies on the floor, whereas previously she’d been stepping over and around them like they were mere bumps on the floor.
Still, they kept their memories. Elijah was going to compel them to forget afterwards, since there was no point in doing it in the middle of their job. Things could go wrong, after all, and they clearly had this time.
But one of the older midwives, who felt she’d seen far too much bullshit in her line of work, remembered how her current patient had drained the bodies. Clearly, the blood was vital for her, and so the lady pulled up her sleeve to drip some of her own blood into the patient’s mouth.
If it didn’t work, she had no idea what to do. One of them would have to take the baby home, since it appear this young woman had no friends, no family to take care of her, nor raise the baby if she died. If she had, they would have been there with her, was the consensus amongst the midwives, and so trying this was the best idea they had.
Thankfully, it did work. Elijah’s eyes flew open after barely a few drops, and she eagerly latched onto the other woman’s wrist to drink more. Not too much, though. She still had restraint, and this woman had just saved her child from being raised by strangers by testing this out. It would be poor form to repay that gift by draining her, and Elijah knew that she could go and feed some more later, besides.
“It’s a girl, ma’am,” one of the other midwives told her in a low voice, understandably wary of this woman who’d just come back from certain death.
She held out her arms, a bundle of clothes in them. The cloths shifted slightly, white folds moving away, and suddenly all Elijah could see was her beautiful baby girl. This child would not be harmed, she swore to herself. Not as long as she was around.
“What’re you going to name her?” One of the younger women asked, curiosity getting the better of her.
“Nína,” Elijah breathed over her baby’s face. “Nína Elijasdóttir”

hii! can i request haruka hashida (bp) when reader meets his sisters for the first time? like how they'd react and stuff i think its a cute topic to think of hehe (gn reader please!)
hi ! since, to my knowledge, not many information about haruka and his family were disclosed (almost none, except the fact that he has three sisters), this scenario is purely based on my imagination so there isn't really anything canon about his relationship with his family 🚶🏻♂️ btw this request was so cute to write, hope you like it <3
also, i've tried to add some elements of traditional japanese houses to describe haruka's house (even tho i say only one thing about it 💔), however if i've written smth that it's wrong please let me know and i'll edit it.

MEETING HARUKA HASHIDA'S SISTERS FOR THE FIRST TIME
[ masterlist ]
fluff, romantic relationship, haruka hashida x gn!reader, headcanons + scenario
warning(s) : none that i can think of, perhaps there could me grammatical errors but that's it ig.
words count : 1,201 words (I'M SORRY IF U WANTED SMTH SHORTER 😭)
[ ☆ ] ah, haruka hashida, a person who has a caring yet inscrutable personality indeed.
[ ☆ ] from what we've seen, he isn't the kind of person who shows his emotions, instead he seems to hide them.
[ ☆ ] this leads to the following question: how is like haruka around his family, especially his sisters?
[ ☆ ] imo, although he wouldn't disclose much information about his life — at least not on his own initiative (y'know, the sibling dynamic where one teases the other to get information/lh), i like to think that he has a good affinity with them — a genuine and strong fraternal bond built on the support of each others' activities and passions, also helping each other when times are tough. of course, little fights happen once in a while, but they are generally an united family, even though the youngest sister (and sometimes also haruka) prefers to be on her own most of the time.
[ ☆ ] well, let's begin, shall we?
“haruka... are you sure they'll react well? wouldn't it have been better to warn them of my presence? i... you know, i don't wanna make them uncomfortable,” you said, a bit nervous about meeting your partner's sisters.
it all started with a mere thought of yours, which however haruka wanted to transform into reality.
“from what you're saying, they already seem to adore me,” you jokingly commented after listening to your boyfriend telling you how his sisters were growing more curious about you.
“oh, rest assured, they do adore you,” he smiled, gently holding your hand while you two were walking through the streets of tokyo.
“i guess it'd be nice to meet them, one day or another. they truly seem lovely people,” you stated, unaware of what that sentence would then trigger.
and now here you were, on the way to their house. honestly, you should have expected this from your partner, he did that kind of things.
to be honest, you weren't really against it, however you didn't want to be a nuisance nor you wished to disappoint their expectations.
of course, he wasn't forcing you to go there; haruka asked you multiple times if you were fine with the whole situation, and you were — you just didn't know what to expect.
your boyfriend gently squeezed your hand, applying light pressure to reassure your almost tormented soul. “you don't have to worry, my dear. you don't have to demonstrate anything to anyone — be your true self, even if it can be difficult sometimes. they won't stop liking you,” he said with his quiet and thoughtful voice. “but, we still have time to go to your house, if that's what you want.”
“no, it's just that...” you sighed, a sheepishly grin appearing on your face. “dunno how they'll react”.
“you'll do just fine,” haruka left a soft kiss on your temple, while rubbing little circles on the back of your hand with his thumb.
[ ▪︎ ▪︎ ▪︎ ]
after crossing the hashida house's threshold, you felt a welcoming air warming your chest, along with a scent similar to haruka's — except for the lack of oil paints' pungent smell, which was probably contained mainly in your partner's room.
you had never been to his house, because your dates usually consisted in outdoor activities, art exhibitions or museum explorations, in need of something which could stimulate your intellects; perhaps a couple of times you two had been to your house, discussing artists' paintings or books' plots, yet both of you managed to be yourselves doing something almost vitalizing such as admiring and surrounding yourselves with beauty. an artist's painting could captivated your spirits, allowing you to openly talk about the emotions it evoked in your souls — while simultaneously being critical about it. sometimes, it didn't inspire anything at all, and that was fine too; it was a new discovery for you anyway.
haruka and you took of your shoes and arranged them so that they didn't get in the way, proceeding to wear slippers — which you would have then to take off before you entered in a room with tatami floor.
“it's rather strange that my sisters haven't noticed our presences yet,” haruka commented just as the two of you finished washing your hands. “if so, i suppose they are in the living room, perhaps playing something. shall we join them, mh?”
you nodded, almost cheerfully, between excitement for meeting them and nervousness.
and, once you two entered in that room, a quite peculiar picture showed up in front of you: the older sisters were light-heartedly discussing about something involving the board game they were playing, while the younger one was patiently waiting for a twist in that too familiar situation. in fact, she was the one who noticed your presences first.
“haruka! you're home,” she said smiling, though refraining herself to get up and run towards her brother because she didn't know who was the person next to him — you.
while the other sisters stopped 'fighting', he returned the grin.
“[name], i present you my sisters,” haruka said, proceeding to let you know their respective names. “and, sisters, they are [name], my partner”.
[ ☆ ] from this moment, there could be quite a few scenarios to think of, but i'll stick only with one of them.
[ ☆ ] at first, they would be taken by surprise: they didn't see that situation coming.
[ ☆ ] but after a minute or two, they would break off their trance state and become really interested in you.
[ ☆ ] i mean, they have waited so long to make your acquaintance.
[ ☆ ] the youngest sister would ask you all kind of questions, wanting to know everything about you — she can be very friendly, if she wishes so.
[ ☆ ] she'd also propose to do a board game (or a videogame, which one you prefer) with you.
[ ☆ ] and if you're really good at them, a slight (light-hearted, of course) competition could arise :), she must win at all costs.
[ ☆ ] meanwhile, the older ones would ask you more about formal topics, even though a few questions about your hobbies would slip from their lips.
[ ☆ ] and if y'all have interests in common, oh, they would talk about them for hours.
[ ☆ ] imo they and haruka love listening to people's interests and stuff, so they would let you talk freely about your passions !! they love the spark in your eyes when you do so.
[ ☆ ] needless to say, they also love you!/p.
[ ☆ ] ngl, they would be so engrossed in knowing you that they'd almost forget about their own brother, always present in the room.
[ ☆ ] haruka, my man, i'm sorry for being a guest of such great importance/j.
[ ☆ ] jokes aside, he would be quite amused by the whole situation.
[ ☆ ] and also happy, 'cause seeing the people he cares about the most, peacefully talking with each other, in the same room, is an endering sight.
[ ☆ ] after all, haruka was right: his sisters adore you.

Okay so I’ve seen all the aus of Izuku with a ghost quirk... but let’s combine it with a villaindeku! Au and hopefully some dadzawa and a bit of dad might.
Trigger warning for mental disorders and near death experiences, abandonment, depression, manipulation... umm i think that’s it but lmk if I should add more bc the last thing I’d wanna do is trigger someone.
————————————-
Izuku develops his quirk shortly after his father leaves, when he and his mother get caught up in a villain attack.
Let’s say it was at their apartment complex and the building is collapsing and izuku get hit in the head bc I’m lazy and have very little creativity.
Causes a near death experience and when he wakes up, he can see ghosts.
When he tries to tell people, they write it off as trauma and eventually schizophrenia.
Of course, none of the “treatments” work bc it’s actually a quirk and ghosts are real.
As he gets older, he begins to accept his quirk more, but he also decides to hide it and pretend to be quirkless instead. Whether this is the result of some #goodparentmidoriyainko or #badparentmidoriyainko is up to y’all, depends on how much you wanna punish izuku (izuku my child, I am so sorry)
He starts hanging out on “the streets” more, doing little things to help restless spirits move on. He, of course, experiences lots of quirkless discrimination bc I’m an asshole. And plot.
Like in some of the other ghostquirk aus, his quirk makes him more susceptible to being attacked by ghosts, both physically and mentally in the forms of possession and hauntings. Ya know, like if a ghost or demon is haunting someone, they can affect their moods, thoughts, stuff like that.
It also, however, allows him to make ghosts around him more powerful, increasing their powers. He discovers this, of course, one night when he is attacked in an ally while trying to help out some poor sap of a spirit. He, being scared, activates whatever that park of his quirk is and the ghost helps him scare off/incapacitate/escape the villain.
This definitely leads to some child vigilanteism.... and if he saves shota aizawa’s life a few times to get on his radar... its not bc im soft for dadzawa. Its setting up further plot.
And then... during AFO and All Mights first fight..... AFO actually dies.
AFO, being a centuries-old asshole, would definitely not just cross-over. Of course, even tho I would love for the other ghosts to devour his soul, that doesn’t happen. I dunno if they just weren’t around or couldn’t interact, maybe he’s a powerful spirit for some reason, maybe he’s actually a demon, I haven’t decided.
He finds out through the grapevine about this kid and decided to do what he does best, be a manipulative, grooming asshole.
So he finds Izuku, already with low self esteem and upset with the system, and yes Izuku still wants to be a hero, he wants to fix the system. If supportivemidoriyainko exists in this universe, maybe she has helped him reach the conclusion that he could be an underground hero, or at least specialize in information gathering for heros. Even tho I love bamfizuki and waytoosmartforhisowngoodizuku, my brain won’t accept that a like 8-10year old would come to that realization without help.
Anyway, AFO starts haunting izuku, little whispers and shit, trying to convince him that the only way society can be fixed is to be broken, and basically just spewing hate and anger like the slippery fucking eel he is to this already tired and jaded child.
AFO, having stuck around him for a few years, is able to tighten his hold, bordering on possession.. and this is where stuff gets even more shitty for our dear protagonist
Either other ghost villains catch wind of what is happening, or AFO eventually convices izuku to go kill some villains, but he eventually ends up surrounded by all these evil ass spirits, affecting him and shit. He loses control and joins up with the league(maybe?) at afos insistence.
In my idea of ghosts, there would probably be a lot more ghosts of villains and vigilantes than heros, so even tho some ghost heros want to help izuku, by the time they know what’s going on, he’s already surrounded by a wholeass army lf ghostvillains so they can’t get close enough to reach him.
Shit happens, maybe following along with events from cannon. At one point there is a confrontation that I completely imagine happening to Halsey’s “Control” (i can picture the scene, even if I cant fucking draw) where izuku’s there, facing off against the heros and hero students and when he activates his quirk, hundreds... okay maybe I’m making this too op, too dramatic.... like 50 ghost villains appear, with AFO right there with his hand on deku’s shoulder. Maybe an adapted version of usj. In that case, ghostvillains, or at least afo wouldnt be revealed until toshinori arrived. Eraserhead, of course, recognizes him and is trying to understand wtf happened to him until detective tsu-whatever truth detector and all might explain who afo was.
This isn’t detective slander i just am genuinely too lazy to look up how to spell.
Thing is tho.... the OFA ghosts are there too, surrounding all might or whoever he makes his successor. They don’t appear to everyone else bc of course izuku wouldn’t power them, but they are trying to figure out wtaf is going on. They’ve been so connected to the host of ofa that they hadn’t really noticed the other shit going down in the ghost realm, but they sure as hell do now. They fight off against some of the villains, but in the end, can’t make it to him at this encounter.
Then we have another encounter, this one def follows “achilles come down” by Gang of Youths. Throughout whatever battle this is, you get various ofa holders, plus toshinori, aizawa, and some of the other neutral or good ghosts he’s helped and knew in the past to remember himself, gain back control from afo and some of the other villains.
Bc this is as far as my brain has gone, I imagine the hero’s get through to him, he uses his built up power to forcibly remove afo’s influence... i dunno if this happens by him like... forcing him to cross, outright destroying him, or just by taking his power and making him a weak spirit for the others to finally devour or something. The rest of the afo spirits can finally rest and izuku can start becoming a hero again.
#cfg’s aus#mha#bnha#fanfiction#villain deku#ghost quirk#ghost izuku#i love them#this is stream of consciousness#i really do know english and grammar i swasr

SBI d&d AU: Tommy (2)
I’m back! This is the second part of Tommy’s POV for the au, and it’s directly connected to the previous part!
There is a third part coming, probably in a couple of weeks! ((I’ll be a bit busy due to Writober starting today, but I really want to keep adding to this AU! Also, if you maybe want to check out what I’ll be posting … You’ll find them on AO3, even tho they’re not mcyt related))
Also!! Soon we’ll have another character sheet! A special thanks to @spout1nk for bouncing off ideas with me about Techno’s, which will come in the future!
And as always a special thank you to @whatimevendoinhere , who is an amazing and incredible friend and also a super poggers artist!
There are slight trigger warnings for this chapter: there’s characters getting injured twice, and mentions of blood. There’s also a brief example of d&d level of violence. Let me know if I should add more or underline possible triggering parts!
Thank you all for readign and for all the wonderful support, all the follows and likes and comments! It really means a lot and it gives me so much encouragement to keep writing!
For the next couple of months, rumors of the kid that beat Technoblade - the shadow thief, the most infamous assassin of the realm - spread like wildfire.
At first, it’s just Tommy coming up with stories.
He vaguely mentions besting Techno in hand-to-hand combat, then says he’s had it since they met and it’s the reason why he was allowed into the group. One time, he states he stole it from under his nose. Another time, he tricked Techno into drinking a sleeping potion and pocketed it as he was unconscious.
His personal favourite is: one time, as they were sparring, he backflipped over Techno’s head and grabbed the knife from his very hand; Techno was so impressed by his moves that he gifted it to him out of respect. Phil wheezed so hard when he heard it that he lost his voice for almost half a day, and because of that nobody believed his story, but it was still worth - just for hearing Phil laugh.
Then one night, in a squallid tavern, Will sings the song of the young warlock who tricked the thief, sold his soul just to steal a knife, and it kicks off a whole new wave of rumors.
And everything goes perfectly well.
Everyone focuses on the rumors, the stories. Their popularity increases, their job offers multiply.
Tommy gets to show off half of his present, and get to keep what’s really meaningful all to himself.
It works perfectly well, up until it doesn’t.
With fame comes a peculiar kind of danger, one that is born from the mind of really, really dumb people that like to think that if they’re prepared enough, they might have a shot at defeating them - as if an ancient black dragon hadn’t already tried his best against them and failed.
Still, this one particular time, the whole team realises quickly that whoever is trying to get to them has come prepared.
They attack in the middle of the day, which is unusual but efficient: everyone in the team can see in the dark, so attacking at night would be useless, or even detrimental if whoever was attacking had to rely on torches.
They also attack in the middle of the street of a crowded town. Techno and Phil had realised they were being followed a couple of days prior, and they’d decided to head to the nearest village in hope of covering their tracks, or at least buy themselves some time to find out how many and who was tracking them, assuming whomever it was wouldn’t attack them out in the open.
Instead the first knife flies directly towards Phil during a late morning, while they’re looking for a place to eat. Phil dodges, then curses and raises a hand to still catch the dagger, which would have otherwise hit a farmer he had been talking with - blood splatters on the poor man’s face as Phil yells at everyone to get away.
With the crazed crowd of a Monday market, most of the team has to restrain themselves. Tommy can’t really summon a demon in public, Phil won’t be able to transform into a bear and Wilbur will have to rely on his swordmanship, instead of destroying his enemies’ eardrums and minds.
Still, it’s not like they don’t have anything else at their disposal.
The Tommy of two years prior would have never been able to survive, but while his stories of beating Techno are mostly false, the two of them have been sparring for a long time. Techno is an incredibly strict teacher, but that just means that he has more control of where his spheres of fiery eldritch power land.
He sees Phil direct a handful of people away from the danger, while Wilbur makes sure to attract most of their enemies’ attention by hurling insults at them - one of them stumbles back, hands moving up to clutch at their head as Will’s words echo inside their mind.
There’s a flash of colour, then a figure falls to the ground: Techno stands behind them for a moment before throwing one of his daggers at an incoming enemy.
Seeing him fight is always an incredible spectacle, but this time Tommy doesn’t allow himself to be distracted.
There’s nowhere to hide in the big, empty square they’re fighting in, and there are still innocent people trying to escape. Phil is expending spells left, right and centre, creating walls and shooting out healing magic in order to prevent people from dying and getting targeted - Tommy sees a figure jump in front of a cobbler, blade drawn, and then lock up, muscles freezing as Phil takes hold of his body with a clutched fist and a shaking arm. Techno swoops by a moment later, taking care of the paralyzed fool before disappearing again.
There are enemies appearing from all sides, and it gets more and more clear that this is not only a well organized group but also a group with enough money to spend on people willing to be cannon fodder for them.
Tommy keeps his distance, shoots anyone that approaches him and picks off enemies that threaten his teammates (family) whenever he can. Each time someone falls to the ground, he hears a joyful whoop ring inside his head, usually followed by an exclamation of “another one for my collection!”, and feels his strength increasing - small wisps of flames circling around him, and he knows his eyes are glowing after the fifth one.
It takes some time - there are a few moments when Tommy knows that if he weren’t so focused he would be getting bored - but eventually the number of goons approaching starts to dwindle, and then stops. Tommy only needs a quick look at Wilbur’s heaving chest, Phil’s limp and Techno’s tired frame to decide he’s going to get up close and personal to finish the last three remaining enemies.
One would think that someone, seeing a half-demon glowing with fire and shooting spheres of dark red energy, would back off with the rest of his retreating friends. Apparently that is not the case, as one of them is dumb enough to try his hand at fighting him the moment he sees him approaching the group.
And the thing is, normally Tommy wouldn’t even blink and incinerate the man, but he has been casting a lot more spells than usual in order to keep everything at bay, and he is in the process of shooting a ball of fiery energy at another dumbass cornering Wilbur - who’s clutching at his rapier with both hands, arms shaking with exhaustion.
So the attack comes out of nowhere, from his left, and he only notices the man when it’s too late: one moment he’s there, the next there’s a thin, vertical gash running from the edge of his elbow up to his shoulder.
The pain is there, but not much - he’s young, yes, but he’s also been an adventurer for a while - but then he feels a small pressure alleviating from around his upper arm.
Oh no. No no nononono-
His mind is suddenly filled with shock. Then rage, as he unleashes the ball of energy he’d been in the middle of casting right into that bastard’s face with a loud snarl - one for him, and one just a moment later straight to the leg of the bastard threatening Wilbur.
But he’s not even aware of that because this guy *just broke Techno’s friendship bracelet*.
The stranger falls to the ground silently, lifelessly, but Tommy’s already sitting down on the ground, frantically tearing at his cut open sleeve as he mutters curses to himself, tears of frustration pricking at his eyes.
A moment later a pair of hands are on his, and he looks up at Phil’s worried but reassuring eyes.
“Don’t worry Tommy, it’s just a scratch-”
“No no no you don’t get it! He- he cut the bracelet!” Tommy protests; he hates how his voice pitches up and how Phil’s eyes soften, but at that moment Techno and Wilbur join them, also looking worriedly down at his bleeding arm, and Tommy slips the bracelet free of his arm. The onyx bead is still hanging on by a thread, and the young warlock has to carefully keep the whole thing in the palm of his hand - the edges where it got cut are already undoing themselves and Tommy is so *angry* about it-
“You kept it?” Techno asks, having the gall to sound surprised, and Tommy can’t help but sputter in indignation, waving his injured hand around - because his non injured one is cradling the broken bracelet, despite the frustrated hum Phil lets out as he prevents him from cleaning the wound.
“Of course I did! What did you think, that I threw away your gift?! I might be rude but I’m not an asshole!"
"Point taken.” He mumbles back, and after a moment of quiet awkwardness Wilbur elbows him in the side. The two of them share one of those silent eye-conversations that they love to take part in, which Tommy is absolutely not jealous of. Then Wilbur claps his hands together and announces he’s going to call the guards and make sure no townsperson got injured.
Techno lets himself sit down silently as Phil grabs his arm and starts cleaning up the gash. The thief lets out a tired sigh: Tommy can see from the corner of his eye how tired he is - being the only one of the team used to up close, one on one fighting in urban streets, probably made him feel like he had to compensate for all three of them. Which is true, he indeed had, but Tommy knows he’s probably more tired from the adrenaline and anxiety that though caused than the actual fight.
“… I’m sorry it got cut up. I thought if I kept it here it would be safe.” Tommy comments at one point, while Phil is unrolling a gauze from his healing kit - the fact that he’s not using magic to close the cut is a testament to how hard that fight was. Or maybe he’s just being cautious, in case the goons change their mind and decide to come back, or in case there are more coming soon.
“I mean, we can always make another one.” Tommy’s head snaps up so fast that he almost gets whiplash.
“We can?” He asks, unable to mask the excitement and awe in his voice - it’s worth it, because it does bring a small smile to Techno’s face. Phil finished tying the bandage around his arm at that moment, letting out a huff of breath and standing up.
“After we’ve gone back to the tavern and eaten. We’re laying low for a while.” The elf states, staring both of them down as he offers Tommy a hand to help him up.
“Alright, dad.” Techno sasses, rolling his eyes, but Phil’s face just lights up and the thief instantly looks pained and regretful.
“Right, I forgot that’s not an insult to you.” Phil’s grin just gets more brighter as he pats the thief’s back and nods towards where Wilbur is approaching them, followed by a handful of guards.
“Come on, sons, let’s go get your brother.”

Frostiron Holiday Wishes Challenge ❆ 🎅🎄Master Post!
Thank you to all those who’ve submitted a prompt/wish and lovely artwork/fics for these wishes! Here is a compiled list of all the prompt fills received! :D <3
Requester: @kimmycup Wish (Prompt/Idea): Invasion fic where Tony figures out Loki was mind controlled before Loki does: "But I WAS in control. Thanos didn't control me like I did Clint." "Yeah sure. And if you wanted to take over the world, what would you do?" Loki spluttered, fully aware that plan was dumb. Still, he would KNOW if he were controlled... Right? "But I wasn't mind controlled! It was me!"

Requester: @brianadoesart Wish (Prompt/Idea): Cupcake shop au!!! One of our boys owns a cupcake shop and the other one is a FREQUENT visitor to said coffee shop. Lots of people think its because they have a sweet tooth, but they're just hopelessly in love with whichever one owns the shop.

Requester: @snarkyship Wish (Prompt/Idea): Human/no powers AU. Sort-of-enemies to friends to lovers.Tony rents this house/bungalow by the sea for the summer, with a kind of private beach where there is also a cute gazebo. Only that the gazebo is exactly halfway with the other property (by some mistake?). And the tenant of the neighbour bungalow is Loki, who's not so keen on sharing. So Loki&Tony will start a "war" to gain possession of the gazebo, doing their worst using the excuse of "this is my half, I can use it as I want". ((Optional: there is a table right in the middle, so at the beginning they sit at their own side glaring at each other, before starting deploying more convoluted tactics)).Mischief after mischief, they will start to know each other and of course everything will end with one of them inviting the other to their half for a romantic dinner and they'll end up sharing more than the gazebo <3((I hope it's enough clear and but also not too detailed??))

Requester: @martiszcz Wish (Prompt/Idea): Someone is trying to break them up by making Loki jealous, mentioning Tony's playboy years, talking about the time they slept with Tony, talking about how much time he spends with some friend (Pepper, Rhodey, I don't care who) but Loki doesn't react - they trust each other.

Requester: Nivael * Wish (Prompt/Idea): Loki and Tony are in an established relationship. Things go great, but Loki is still unaccepting of his Jotun heritage and body. While Tony is completely fascinated by it, partly because Loki tries to hide it so hard. So he gets a fancy magical gadget from Strange (amulet, bracelet,...?) to be able to avoid frostbite so he can touch Loki even when he's in his Jotun form. Then there will be smut! :D

Requester: @arandomsewer Wish (Prompt/Idea): I just want him to live on and being supported by his Friends and his brother recognizing him, that's basically the prompt. Tho here's the details of the Idea I had: Loki is living at the tower with the others (of course) too proud to say out loud how much he likes life on earth... The usual.Something happens and suddenly the magic that made him look Asgardian is just not working anymore. Understandably, he freaks out. Im talking hides in his room, crying, anger, hate, on himself and others... The whole lot, he just throws a major fit.The others know him and kind of understand and are patient... But it’s not getting fixed. Days pass, and he's stuck like this. After a while Tony snaps him out of It, and he slowly calms down and starts learning to accept this side of himself. It’s specially strange to him how he can just walk in a room and no one treats him different. How the others are even fascinated by this form. I expect Thor being shocked and curious and snapped at and reminded how he (and his people on general) have been unfair to Loki... And of course, there's the romance with Tony, Who loves him in all his forms (and they fit together 'cause he's kinky and Loki a shapeshifter)Also imagine Loki being terrified of touching Tony and then finding out he's cold to the touch but not actually dangerous (my headcanon: he's the son of Hella. Half giant and half Asgardian, and the actual heir... But that's for another fic)

Requester: @worstloki Wish (Prompt/Idea): Tony and Loki both having panic attacks at the same time. just make it wild. whatever the reasons are, maybe it's the same reason? maybe they have shared triggers? maybe it's separate reasons? maybe the other avengers are around and don't realize the incoming attacks and keep bringing up bad memories? maybe one of them notices the other is freaking out and defends them? maybe drags them away only to also start having a panic attack? whatever. they're both freaking out and just kinda do that. they then bond over it. (this can be crack or angsty I don't mind)

Requester: @shinindragon Wish (Prompt/Idea): The Avengers + Loki fight a villain. Loki uses a lot of his magic, eventually almost draining his energy completely when he protects Tony from getting hurt. When the battle is over, they return to the tower, all of them exhausted. Tony notices Loki doesn't look well, he asks if he's okay. Loki barely gets a word out before he collapses into Tony's arms, unconscious. Thor carries Loki to Tony's and his bedroom, explaining to Tony that he'll be alright, it's just exhaustion from an excessive use of magic. Tony stays with Loki, taking care of him. Fluff and with a sprinkle of angst.

Requester: @blancoluna Wish (Prompt/Idea): Basically Friga wonders where she went wrong, asks the Oracle and goes on a guilt trip realizing she messed up to Valhalla and back. The idea is, being a queen-godess of family, she should be able to do something about it, maybe traveling in time or something... And Loki's gonna need powerful allies and Friends, like the Avengers, for example Now the same, but with detail. This is the way I imagined It. Perhaps it’s too much drama? I just don't know how to tackle It or how to go from here:After everything that happened, Frigga wonders where she went wrong, not just with Loki, but with Thor who didn't appreciate his brother, Odín, who treated him unfairly and even the servants, Who didn't respect him.She wonders if she could have done anything, and the guilt wont let her sleep until she goes to the well of wisdom, the Oracle, to seek answers. She is warned the truth may be even more painful. She may not like the answer... But she goes in.It is way worse than she thought: in one second she is reminded of all the times she should have acted, and chose not to, and she sees how It affected her family. She could and should have done something, and she had plenty of time, but at every chance she chose not to. And its perhaps worse than what Odin did because she knew It was wrong but chose to do nothing about It.But even more: It is confirmed to her that not only Odín never gave Loki a chance: he didn't find him. He stole him from the temple where he was guarded. He is not just the son of Louffey, but also of Hella, and thus, the actual heir to the throne of Asgard. She was supposed to be the godess of family, and here she was, consumed by guilt and shame, by having followed blindly a King Who abused her children and betrayed his own heir, aside from many other crimes. But Frigga can't just spend the test of eternity crying. She must do something. She was raised by witches!!Will she manage to get her hands on the time Stone? Or Will she just travel to another dimension to warn a younger version of herself? Will this be the beginning of a new multiverse? The possibilities are endless, when the godess of family must avenge her child...But first: for him to have a better Life he would need support, allies... Friends. (Enter the Avengers)
Add-on: Frigga having this vision was just meant to be a one shot that would connect many different alternative stories, all with the 'what if Frigga did something for Loki' as a common base. All of them would be Frostiron 'cause I honestly believe they are just meant for one another! It is just so open to so many possibilities... That I never got to writing any of them.
One of the first ideas I had following this concept was of Frigga introducing Tony and Loki early on somehow: as kids they would be like 'imaginary friends' then Tony manages to contact him and they are webcam buds... As young adults, they would help each other go a different path than they did in other lives.... and when Loki needed help, he had allies to back him. (The Avengers, whom Tony may have introduced to him earlier)

Requester: @brianadoesart Wish (Prompt/Idea): MERMAIDS. I like mermaids. Either a fic or art, but I just want more content of mer-Loki or mer-Tony. I always enjoy versions where Loki is an underwater prince who falls in love with a stupid human inventor by the name of Tony. He's never been 100% happy in the palace with Thor and the others, so he often would go to the shore to watch the humans. He sees Tony working on the beach one day and becomes interested in him from there on. Basically a little mermaid type thing... I am easy to please. I just like mermaids.

Requester: @snarkyship Wish (Prompt/Idea): Finally Tony has managed to locate Loki's whereabouts. And it turns out the godling lives in a pretty loft in Manhattan, with all the comforts and the most advanced midgardian technology ((lighting, temperature and everything controlled by a tablet - the Stark latest model!- , appliances linked to the wifi, and has that roomba a knife??)).Tony decides to have a little fun: who said Loki is the only one who can do a little mischief?? So he takes control over Loki's apartment hacking its system; he starts with some flickering lights, the roomba changing suddenly trajectory to stab him, then blasting music in the middle of the night and so on.And Loki would be so frustrated: at the beginning he thinks about some failure in the inferior midgardian technology, then he'll think to be under attack, but he can't feel any magic signature!! Maybe he'll freak out a little, because there is some kind of unknown entity??? ((And while he may be using all the technology without problems, it doesn't mean he fully understands its working)).Tony will have fun, but he also will discover some cute aspects of Loki's personality, like he sings to his plants and he likes to wear fuzzy socks ((ok it sounds voyeuristic, but Tony would respect part Loki's privacy, maybe he'll spy on him only when in the living room or kitchen)).((And maybe he would help Loki as well? Like, the godling had a nightmare after falling asleep on the couch, and Tony would gently woke him up with music))Loki will eventually understand that Stark, the most clever midgardian, was behind all of this, and well, he's the God of Mischief, he can appreciate a well planned trick. Time to return the favor ;)

ONF in Demon AU
A/N : Is clearing idea dumps from drafts, this would be the second version of modern AU
Hi, does anyone remember the idea of illegitimate child of Satan from here and a random Lucifer!Hyojin moodboard here?
ALSO YOU TOTALLY CAN IMAGINE THIS IN A REVERSE WAY, ANGEL AU (where reader is a reincarnation version fragment of Archangel but this one idea dump/establishment will be done for another day)
ALSO you can totally imagine it as deity AU, example that you are Zeus reincarnation but you awaken late and you need to stop Kronos for his rampage. Or even you are Odin and you need to stop Modern version Ragnarok this time. And ONF members could be tie with other Greek/Roman gods. This one will be fun should OH MY GIRL and B1A4 are tied in too. Its just idea I am not sure if I will expand this. But discussions are welcome
(There is no harm to think it as late Victorian or any other era you like, it is just I felt it is better to write in a familiar timeline as I dont want to do something wrong)
So below are just a few establishment for the AU, I am not gonna divide this into 2 scenarios so warning this is going to be long post.
Ok even though I did mentioned illegitimate or forgotten child. This is plausible for your family comes from bloodline that related to demonXhuman ancestors.
Also it truly depends on you. Making into a throne inheritance war or
Reader come of age and their soul are reincarnated royal demon (not neccesary Satan) so there are some demons/demoness guarding you from you are still a child (kinda like those 2 characters from Good omens or Maleficent)
for the above idea, readers magical heritage only awaken once they pass a certain birthday 16, 18 or 20 or 21, up to you. So you suddenly can see mythical creatures.
It could be your bloodline awakened but you are not that qualified to ascend throne or because of your human blood you cannot hide yourself from angel/demon hunter so you have your own demon guardians
Lets say you are imagining on something big world building, again derived from the establishment for familiar au, it is definitely plausible for you to have other "candidates" and they have their demonic godparents/guardians as well
Example, should you go for inheritance war type, maybe you have a distant related sibling(s). It will be fun if you, have ONF members as your guardians while your sibling(s) have other kpop groups. Presumably to name, Dreamcatcher, ONEUS, ATEEZ, PENTAGON or ASTRO... in short its totally flexible.
To add, (and this is an idea i use to draft for fake pilot episode for a homework I worked), you could tally idols and number of idols you wanna integrate into the story to "Lesser Ley of Solomon", linking your bloodline towith King Solomon (*disclaimer, loosely based mythically). 72 demons, how many demons for 1 person is totally depend on you. Whether number of demons/demoness one have on their side equals to their power/ability (or even how many support they obtain) is up to you.
(and disclaimer I am not Christian this is just an idea dump so dont start cultural bashing. again this ia just an idea dump and I am not planning to touch sensitive issues yet.)
Ok enough world building, lets move to story wise.
You could be growing in orphanage it adds more mystery of your bloodline/heritage or similar to the familiar au, living with your family but your family later died on accident. Your parents bloodline combine making you are the perfect vessel for the reincarnation or maybe its a tradition like every 100 hundred years you will reincarnate or something. Again its flexible.
The moment you realize you are seeing things was you noticed similar aura of each person appeared on similar day. You might not get to see who is watching before you actually confronted to the air that you will contact the police
You might really go file a report but after several times the police be like dear there is no a single soul stalking you tho
then out of depressed, you accidentally get yourself into accident and your demon guardian shows up.
Or, because you started to able to see mythical creatures. Mythical creatures starts to notice your existence as well. And that somewhat gives off your location to other candidates through gossiping (should this is inheritance war type of story). Then your guardian show up to protect you when you are attacked by rival sibling’s demons.
Could be you visited some witch to get your ability to see mythical creatures covered up? Recommended by a friendly non related sibling or a friend you made/could be angel?
You thought you only got one but it surprised you that you actually got 7 (later 6)
As this was different from summoning because they are guardians either assigned or volunteered. There is no need for you to provide them anything. And different from familiar au, there is no need to leave them in your home. To ensure your safety they must follow you 247
For now I would be thinking our boys actually guards you in a daily shift. Example, Hyojin on Monday, Changyoon on Tuesday, Seungjun on Wednesday, Jaeyoung on Thursday, Minkyun on Friday, Yuto on Saturday, Minseok on Sunday. (after Minseok departs, the other members rotate themselves to do the Sunday shift)
Since their shift are like that, you sometimes take chance to hangout with them. Eating out with Hyojin, Arcades with Yuto. mostly happens Sunday.
I am thinking it might be fun which your predecessors of the throne are very eager to get the throne, you are just trying to keep out of trouble. So in another way, demon ONFs get to experience the modern human world in a more chill way, it was not just guarding you, but also trying to experience human world. You could like summon them?/keep them by your side just like a normal sibling (Especially if you are the type that grow up alone without any siblings)'
Cues in ONF members actually understand your preference and remembers them very well. So you could not help relying on them as days pass by.
You are defo gonna get an ultimate rival and a friend that shares the same circumstances as you. Maybe the first rival sibling ends up being your friend after they know you are not intending to compete. But there are some rivals are more aggressive out there.
Could be you knew a few demon hunters but they know you meant no harm and then they just let you go
It will be more fun if existences of your kind triggers inner civil war between demon hunters/angels. Because there is also some distant “siblings” of yours wish to live their live quietly but some parties does not agree of letting your kind roaming free and feeling the bloodline must end.
Should you are the type to compete for your birthright (because you are too irritated of people keep coming to kill you non stop). They are happy to serve you till the end as you embracing your darker side. (Well I am not sure to give ONF members and reader loveline here so I will not talk about it for now)For this version, to explain Minseok’s departure , I would prefer that Minseok is back at hell to be your team’s spy, monitoring all political moves and changes. There are still bottom line morality, you are not really slaughtering your way through. But you do make sure the other party wont come to look for trouble anymore. They are going to train you to make sure you are ready. Fighting in physical and magic. That friendly sibling joins on training you too.
You are definitely getting strict critiques from Hyojin and Seungjun during the beginning of your training.
My preferences, you get a friendly sibling(s) where their demon guardians end up being BFF with yours. (RTK and MIXNINE side effect, sorry)
Characterization should be the same as those I have established from the familiar au. Just the world building and some settings that are slightly different.
Hyojin is to keep the trait of his preference on human food
Changyoon is to keep his nagging trait
Seungjun might help you with studies (not solidify him as a nerd but there is tendency that he will)
Jaeyoung is more to the body guard type
Minkyun defo gonna make friends with stray animals (either you house ends up becoming pet shelter, you becoming a foster mom for animals or you cannot keep any because you are allergic but mental supporting Minkyun is up to you)
Yuto definitely is the quiet but alert type same goes with Minseok
My preference stereotype for them would be the cinnamon rolls that would kill
Sometimes they might go.. “ I am a known demon back in hell but why I am doing this babysitting shit?”
But then ends up enjoying stuffs human does lol
Changyoon enjoying TikTok lol, they got famous because of their contents.
Defo gonna have movie night.
It will be funny if ONFs as demons themselves, got scared at the monsters/ghosts seen in horror movies. Bonus if you actually not scared of horror movies. And they are gonna question you out of disbelief like why the hell are you not scared? How can you not even flinch a single bit?
Reason : monsters and ghosts imagined by human beings do not look the same based on their knowledge.
They sometimes show themselves to other humans but rarely. Mostly just being the unseen follower behind you.
Cues in sometimes they forgot they are invisible, and picks up something from the mart and it gave people a fright. Example, Changyoon or Minkyun passes through a nice outfit and just took the hanged outfit out to place in front of himself, only to realise what he did after looking into a mirror nearby
Hmm my thoughts, Jaeyoung and Minseok would be the ones who would always their visiblity when you are out with them.
Hyojin and Changyoon would be the ones who prefer to keep their invisibility
Copying from familiar au, should you attend college or university, people might thought some members of demon!ONF are your boyfriend.
At first when they changed pattern starts to live close to you, they could not get the concepts of moral of human being well. You will be guiding them.
Could happen that you are so pissed off by someone at work and you could not help but ranting when you are at home.
(Of course the demon!ONF on that day saw what happened but you did insist on them to not do anything)
They might go like : “ Should I kill them for you?”
You : “What?”
Random ONF member : “I can do it to make look like an accident you know.”
You : “OMG NO”
You : “You know maybe you can try to mend things when they are trying to frame me on purpose.”
Random ONF member : “Gotcha”
For the you are not competing scenario, they would be always keeping you safe from harm until you died. Should you get married, you let them participated as relatives/friends. Cues in they even help you take care of your child later on. It could be even fun if you child does not inherit bloodline but they can see ONF members
I will stop here will write another post should i have more ideas to add.
Welp of course for a third option scenario, would be you being a supporter the friendly sibling of yours. You just wanna stay safe so you acted like an advisor role for that candidate, helping them to gain power but not participating directly. Like I said its flexible
For this one I would like to write it as you are just trying to chill with your quiet life but demon hunter, angels and aggressive candidates keeping coming at you.
Also for this one I would link to the point of unfavorable and forgotten child part.
Less favourable child gets assigned with less powerful or less aggressive demons
So for this story ONF aren't high class fighter demons at all. But they do excel in magics.
In opposite, you could the one who knows how to fight maybe because you are quite rebellious in personality.
The moment you found out there 3 parties wanna kill you and innocent less aggressive candidates, you snapped.
Maybe some candidates heard of your friendly sibling name and they rushed over to seek help. End up bump into you instead.
You : what kind of dad is *your biological demon dad name*?"
Cues in Demon ONF keep calming you down because they are afraid that rumours of you belittling your demon father might make their king angry
But you have your attitude and no shit is given. Because you understand that your life your destiny is in your own hands.
You : I wanted a peaceful life alone but now I have to deal with Angels, hunters and a bunch of siblings that I never met , never knew about each other, who all wants me dead.
You : its not fair.
To end it once and for all, you suggested to the friendly sibling to find other candidates that do not have any intentions to compete for throne. Form allies with them so that later own they could get votes for the throne and the rest of the gang could get a decorative chill title while living a peaceful life
Also suggested to the sibling of yours make use of the allies to protect less aggressive candidates
It worked politically. As most of the candidates work on slaughtering others to cut secure birthright, your ideal and policy of strengthen inner then tackle threat gain more favour. Finally your sibling gets the throne.
And you and your other members of allies might get duke duchess or something
This version of story would have and need slot of mind games. Political games as well. (Will be interesting to write but there will waaaaaay too much characters to take note.)

⚠️⚠️ Trigger warning ⚠️⚠️
⚠️Weird existentialism, that makes me feel bad.⚠️
Ok so this pertains to a particular theory that already exists, but i just wanna talk about it into the nothingness for a sec. Because it really does give me some major anxiety. Honestly there probably nobody on here who should read this crap as it has littrally no bearing on your life at all and the only thing it could possibly add you your life is more anxiety.
I'm afraid that i might be immortal. And I'm afraid i might not be.
Yes.. that's stupid.
Here's the gist of it. There is an idea that I've heard a couple of times now, that were all immortal.
So the idea goes that the soul cannot be destroyed, that when you die YOU (the you that is YOU) have to go somewhere else. That somewhere else is another reality. This reality is in broad respects identical to the one you just left, exept you didn't die in it. This reality was created WHEN you didn't die, and you just forget that you did die. So you go on living. This happens meany times throughout what we considder the natural life span and every new reality has a copy of everyone else from your previous reality. This continues FOREVER, as an ever expanding self distancing tree of ever sing living being that has ever been continues to create realities expanding into infinity.
And the only way you'd ever know would be to live forever as the only one, because in your optic EVERYONE EXEPT YOU WOULD STILL DIE.
Every time someone around you would die they would go to another brand new reality, meaning that they can NEVER cross your path again. Meaning that every one of us ends up being the first immortal in our own reality.
This scares the living bejesus out of me. I fear living forever almost as much as i fear dying.
And OFCAUSE my brain is also an ahole here. I can never know if I'm able to die,but that also means that if i spend my time being anxious about this, I'm waisting my one chance, if i infact CAN DIE. Now... This is only one of a thousand ways my brain does this with my anxiety. First it convinces me to be afraid, and then it rationalizes that being afraid is pointless and stupid because I'm only getting one chance and i should have fun with it and die with no regret. BUT NOW ITS FOUND A WAY TO MAKE ME ANXIOUS THAT IM SIMPLY NOT GONNA FUCKING DIE.
Now.. i don't actually BELIEVE this crap. But my brain won't let it go either ofcause..
there is another slightly better alternative to this theory tho (which again has just a little chance of being true) The theory that EVERYTHING we do makes new realitys that all exist simultaneously. Meaning every time i decide between washing the dishes tomorrow or now, a reality where i do it now, and one where i do it tomorrow happens, with a copy of me in it. Every time i buy a stick of gum i do, and i dont. Every time i get a bit to close to the road, the bus hits me.. and it doesn't. And when we die we simply join another version of us and live on in our own soul. And around the time when we get old, we start running out of duplicates. Untill there's only one of us left.. And then we drift off into the eternal slumber. And the adventure is over.
I've joked with my mother sometimes, in an attempt to curve the fear that's hit me, that i could feel ten parales universe me's die whenever something really scary happens.
Like the bus example, which actually happened. It almost drove over the curb as i was walking uncontiosly around in my old suburban neighbourhood wearing my headphones and drifted, in my own thoughts and the music, towards the edge of the sidewalk. And it just barreled past me going way over the speed limit.
Like a 20 ton bull, going for a sleeping matador. Narrowly missing me by a a few inches. I was so shaken that I still remember the feeling in my bones. Just the ice cold blood, the nausea and the overwhelming existential terror as the bus disappeared around the corner at the end of the long road.
And so this was my stupid anxiety fuled rant. It's amature hour at the philosophy club and I'm here with a tambourine and a Barret because i thought it was slam poetry night.
I know nothing, and I'm just another insignificant smuck who really needs to see a therapist, or start yet another unsuccessful podcast already.

get to know ERIC CAPITAN.
The Capitan family holds a long legacy of providing goods to the people of Corona. Holding control over the imports and exports of their home island was always an important task, and his father often boasted life on this island wouldn’t be the same without their work. Eric had always understood the merits of what they did and how important it was, but he never thought it as big a deal as his father made it out to be. More importantly, he never understood why he had to be the one who’d one day be in charge of it all.
He wouldn’t call himself rebellious, but if the shoe fits you know? From a very young age Eric finds himself the bane of his parents and their butler, Grimsby’s, existence. There’s too many stories that end with the adults in his life looking away for one second only to turn back and find his little self running towards danger curiously, or climbing the top of a book shelf to get to the swords his father displayed on the wall in his study. His mother would always sweep him up into their arms, smiling sweetly and laughing at their little adventurer. Eric always considered himself lucky that he had a mother that encouraged his behavior, setting limits for his safety but still allowing him the freedom to explore in his youth.
He was by far closer to his mother than he was his father. His mother was as adventurous and curious as her son. She’d been born rich, because the Capitan family wouldn’t allow someone who wasn’t of worth into their bloodline, but she’d spent her entire life resenting the golden cage her world had put her in. He was unaware of it at the time but that desire for freedom would one day prove to be his mother’s undoing. But in the meantime, he’d enjoy every second he could get with his mother. She’d tell him stories of far off islands and cities, of people who held lives entirely different than his own, and encouraged him to never believe that life was only what the world presented him with at the moment. He has a large collection of books that he inherits from her. Some are the children’s story books she’d read him to sleep, and others are thick texts of foreign world and concepts that he hopes to one day be able to explore.
!!!!! DEATH TRIGGER WARNING !!!!
He’s ten years old when his mom decides she can’t bare a caged life any longer. She sneaks into his room and gives her son one last kiss on the forehead, assures him that she’ll come back for him when the time is right. And her sad, crying face is the last memory he has of her. His mother plans to leave, aware that she may never get a chance to come back, but her freedom is more important than the little boy that needs her and sometimes Eric thinks he understands that.
His father is not pleased, to say the least. The entire manor is rushing and scrambling, worrying over how exactly they will deal with this and more importantly, how to break this news to the rest of the island. Appearance is as important to The Capitans as duty, and his father bellows and booms about how her actions have embarrassed them all. His father crumbles up the note she left him and storms out of the house to work. Eric doesn’t ever tell his father this but he steals the letter before anyone notices, and late that night he reads it. In it his mother chronicles how unhappy she is, how unhappy she’s always been, and that their relationship had always been nothing more than a responsibility rather a choice.
Months later, they get the news that her mother has tragically passed away. Eric finds himself not only grieving the loss of one of the only people in this house who understood him, but the opportunities to travel and explore that she promised him that they’ll never have now.
His dad becomes a lot more strict about making sure Eric has his head on straight. There’s less room for adventure and curiosity now, less epic tales and lessons of how to helm a ship. Now, there’s only room for learning the ins and outs of the family business. Eric doesn’t necessarily hate wrapping his brain around finances and learning how to talk his way in and out of business deals. It’s just, you know, not his first choice.
Eric likes to keep a pretty chill demeanor. He’s calm, cool and collected and not much really phases him. He, no pun intended, just rides the wave as best he can. What’s the use in an overreaction? It won’t change anything. His mother watched him cry as she left, and it didn’t convince her to come back. The universe watched him openly long for her return, and instead it took her away from him.
Eric tries his best to keep his dad happy, but also won’t sit quietly and watch his life sink away into the unknown. He remains adventurous and rebellious, whisking away for fun with friends away from the judgemental eyes of his father and Grimsby. He returns home for sit ins on conference calls promptly and with a smile. And it’s enough to keep his father content. That’s all that matters to Eric, the freedom of choice.
His father expects him to marry the right kind of girl. Someone well mannered, polite, beautiful and most importantly -- will add to the family name. And well, let’s just say Eric has little to no interest in doing that unless his heart is actually in it. He saw how much a burden of a relationship pained his mother, and he wasn’t even sure his father cared all that much when she died. Eric decided long ago, even if he didn’t really know what love is, it wasn’t that and he didn’t want that for himself.
He’s a hopeless romantic, duh. He expects love to hit him like a brick to the face, just hopefully a lot less painful. He’s read all the sonnets and listened to all the songs, and unlike most boys his age he is unafraid to admit that he wants that feeling and longs for a partner to cherish and spoil. Whether that partner will be deemed acceptable to his father, that’s another story. But he thinks, if the love is real, he’d be willing to put up with whatever hell dad rains on him.
When it comes time for college he knows what he wants to study -- nothing holds more hidden truths than the ocean! But he knows his father would never allow it, so he compromises on a double major. Business to please dad, marine biology to keep himself sane. Is he drowning in work? Oh yeah. Does he care? Nah, he’s happy. Dad’s kind of happy -- it all worked out in the end.
Reckless and stupid he went sailing with some friends and a storm hit. I mean y’all saw the movie. Our son was brave and tried to make sure everyone got ok safely. He still sometimes isn’t the easiest to deal with around storms and his father was livid when he found out about it. But Eric just kind of shrugged and asked “but did i die tho”.
He’s such a good he will quite literally go out of his way to help any and everyone. Catch him helping a baby bird with a broken wing, or releasing dolphins and turtles trapped in nets and plastic soda can wrapper thingamabobs. Also dude, DON’T LITTER THE OCEAN AROUND HIM HE’LL FLIP THE FUCK OUT.
He loves the environment and i’m already annoyed about it. He will sign any petition, he’ll make a sign and a chant on the spot and lead a protest. He’s very passionate and all in about the things he cares about,
Dog person, duh. Max is his childhood pet, and he hardly ever goes anywhere without the sheepdog tagging along. He trusts Max’s judgement -- dogs are the best judge of character -- and if his good boy won’t stop barking at you then maybe you suck and that’s not his fault. Eric is sorry about it though, but like stay away from us ok.
He’s really smart!!! He loves history and science, and commits a lot of random facts to mind. He’s not going to be annoying and spit them out when not a soul asked, but he got a brain, and you know what nice to finally know a boy with more than wet noodles for brains.
WANTED CONNECTIONS.
he’s a hopeless romantic so some exes and crushes is always nice and fun
ADVENTURE FRIENDS!!!
rich friends who he either doesn’t fit in with entirely or he gets along great with
other eco-minded folks.

ok. so. The Princess Bride. i read it yesterday.
and right up front, before even a review, i’m gonna go ahead and list everything objectionable in the book that i can recall. please don’t take the length of the bullet pointed items to follow as an indication that the book was wildly problematic and offended me at every turn; it wasn’t and it didn’t. but there were some things that made me go: 😑 or 😒, and here it all is, presented with context, before anything else, because to be honest, i didn’t expect any of it. the film is relatively spotless, which is pretty rare for that era, and if any of you are thinking of reading it, you could do with being more prepared for this than i was.
first off, racism. two passing remarks. one isn’t even in the story proper; it’s in the first whole long intro bit from the author/narrator. that takes some explanation, i suppose: like in the film, the story is presented as a book having been written by “S. Morganstern,” except instead of a grandfather reading to his sick grandson, the narrator is interjecting with notes on the original text that he has abridged. the beginning is a whole long shpiel that, in my opinion, could have been significantly pared down with absolutely zero loss to the story (which! hey! the film did perfectly! go figure!). anyway, the first racist remark is an absolutely tasteless line in which the narrator pisses and moans about his fat son, making a crack about “painting him yellow” and making him a sumo wrestler. y i k e. the other passing remark is from Miracle Max (really, truly, the film version of this scene is miles better than the book version, but contains an important plot detail, so you should prob still read it, but i’ll give you the lowdown if you wanna skip). he refers to Iñigo as a sp*ck (rather bafflingly, i might add, bc Iñigo is a Spanish man... from Spain... not a Hispanic or Latino man from Latin America. so. i mean i’m certainly not an expert on slurs but... i have never in my life heard that term in reference to a person from Spain, and am virtually certain it was invented to refer to ppl from the americas) and in the same breath uses an objectionable term for a Polish person. sooo... again: y i k e. what gets me is that... these could’ve just been edited out? why weren’t they? i mean i know why but
fat shaming! see above. though to be honest, any true negativity about fatness is restricted to the author/narrator’s interjections; there are a few minor fat characters in the story and those depictions, without being too long-winded or spoilery, didn’t offend me (fyi: i’m fat). if you want the details, please feel free to message me about it.
if we can go back to the whole long beginning shpiel from the author/narrator, it’s just... eh. he comes off as kind of a jackass, tbh. not even halfway through it i found myself more than a little impatient for the story to begin, and that could be at least partly because the film spoiled me with a lovely, not annoying, not problematic scene of Granddad Columbo reading to Baby Fred Savage where no one made any racist remarks or ragged on fat kids. the basic gist, if you want to skip it, is that the author, as a kid, had this book read to HIM by his father, who was a Florinese immigrant, and nearly illiterate in English, but still labored over reading the English translation to his American-born son, who adored the book and requested it read to him dozens and dozens of times over the years, refusing to read it himself (though he read plenty of other books). as an adult, he buys his son the book, and is crushed when the son doesn’t like it. he then reads it for the first time, and realizes his father skipped over huge, boring blocks of text. he read his son only The Good Parts. so he decides to edit that shit out himself and release the abridged version he loves so much. add into that some complaining about his wife and some extra blah blah, and that’s pretty much it.
you remember the scene in the movie where The Man In Black/Westley almost slaps Buttercup for what he believes is lying? in the book he actually slaps her. not that his actions seem supported or endorsed by the text, but still, there you are. Buttercup does push him off a cliff soon after, though, so. i wouldn’t call that ‘even’ exactly but, shrug
Vizzini, in the book, has a fucky leg and his back isn’t quite straight, and he’s referred to repeatedly as a “humpback” or “hunchback” which needless to say is Not Kosher
that, as i recall, is it. i hope i’m not forgetting anything. now onto content/trigger warnings:
alcoholism. this shouldn’t be a surprise if you’ve seen the movie: Iñigo has some, shall we say, issues
Fezzik’s parents were... terrible. CPS would be all over them. spoiler: basically they emotionally blackmailed their son into fighting professionally, which they knew he hated, by telling him they’d abandon him if he didn’t
Buttercup has some kinda messed up (read: unsettling but in no way graphic) nightmares after leaving Westley when they’re found by Prince Humperdinck at the Fire Swamp, mostly involving bearing children to the Prince who she once again is set to marry
the slurs and whatnot i mentioned above
violence, obviously. nothing worse than the film as i recall.
that’s it i think.
okay. all that said. did i enjoy the book? yes i did. a lot.
now, you might be thinking: jesus, Kathleen, after all the shit you just listed? and to this i reply: listen. there is no Unproblematic Media, so you either enjoy some things that are flawed, or you enjoy nothing at all. there is plenty of objectionable shit in Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit! fucking plenty! and i love those books! and so do plenty of other people! in my own humble opinion, the good story is worth the shitty bits, because the shitty bits aren’t like, fundamental to the plotline. the story isn’t built on offensive humor or nasty, bigoted attitudes. and they’re also not the most egregious examples of Objectionable Content i’ve come across- not by a longshot. there are levels to offense. there are tiers of bullshit. this is on a far lower tier than a whole host of other things i could mention. but if any of this stuff i’ve listed crosses a line for you, i totally understand and respect that. that’s why i’ve bothered to list it at all. imo, how you respond to objectionable content is important: you don’t ignore it or excuse it, you acknowledge and criticize it. and if you still enjoy whatever the thing is, you allow yourself to enjoy it, without getting hissy or defensive with people for whom the objectionable content ruined the book/movie/whatever.
there you go, there’s my disclaimer for having enjoyed the book. your mileage may vary.
okay. so. review time.
Buttercup is a far more interesting character in the book than the movie, for which the movie can’t be faulted all that much, because you can’t easily translate a character’s inner monologue/unspoken thoughts to the screen, especially not with the time limit that comes with the medium of film. but watching her struggle with her feelings and life choices (and... lack thereof, since her choice is between marrying the prince and being put to death, which isn’t much of a choice, even if she tries to reason it out later by telling herself she COULD have said no... and initially did) creates far more of a bond between her and the reader in the book than, personally, i felt watching the movie. also she has a great line after Westley calls her beautiful at their reunion- she says something like, ‘everyone’s always calling me beautiful, i have a mind too, why don’t you talk about that’
Both Westley and Buttercup are immature, naive, and foolish in the beginning, and if Westley strikes you as Extra Dickish, a) rewatch the film! he did act like a bit of a dick, there, didn’t he? b) remember that in the story he’s a young man between the ages of eighteen and twenty five, which in my considerable experience is the age at which young men are generally at their peak of Asshole. sorry dudes
and not that Buttercup herself is a complete peach! she deals very poorly with her emotions in general and acts kinda shitty herself once or twice. i won’t say too much lest i spoil everything that’s different between the film and the book.
Prince Humperdinck is also a more three dimensional character; still a rat bastard tho.
onto Fezzik and Iñigo.
as i have said in other blog posts, these boys are... pretty much the whole reason i sought out the book. and... jesus.
you get all the way into the tragic backstories that were only hinted at in the film. okay, Iñigo’s backstory was more than hinted- but of course you go so much deeper in the book- and Fezzik’s was less than hinted, reduced mostly to a peek at the insecurity that Vizzini exploits and preys upon to keep him in line. not that you’d have to expend a great effort to him to keep him in line; his personality is docile and non-confrontational. truly not the slightest bit aggressive by nature. he’s also kinda clingy and needy, which is a thousand percent understandable given his childhood, and tbqh doesn’t need to be browbeaten for Vizzini to keep him on his short, cruel leash. which makes it all the more painful! hurrah! 😭
also you actually get to meet Iñigo’s father, Domingo Montoya, in a flashback, aaaand... i kinda love him. probably predictable if you know me.
anyway. tragic backstories. which further illuminate the emotional and psychological issues that make them so dependent on Vizzini, and turn them to lives of crime in his employ. poor boys! oy gevalt. sympathy abounds; i honestly don’t know how you could go through the book and not fall at least a little bit in love with this duo, whose friendship is precious and adorable and a balm to the soul that is aching from their painful life stories and unhealthy coping mechanisms. they’re each, very plainly, the only friend the other has in the world, and are constantly helping and bolstering one another. it’s heartbreakingly sweet. i think those boys will be alright as long as they stick together.
and now, the repeated theme of the book, that is presented with far less intensity in the film: life isn’t fair. which, one supposes, is true. but while the narrator’s framing of that assertion may give you the same misgivings they gave me- bitching about his fat son and his less than ideal relationship with his wife- you can also step back and appreciate it as a wee pearl of wisdom. life is often unfair, but that doesn’t mean it’s altogether bad or that you can’t enjoy it. idk, that’s my attitude, man.
i could talk about the ending here, but i won’t. at least not too much. not to spoiler-ish-ly. if you don’t want to know anything about the book’s ending at all, feel free to not read the last bit here, except for the very last lines which are bolded.
ready? yes? no?
...
the ending to the book is different than the movie. there is a more philosophical, open ended conclusion than you could really get away with in a movie. at least this movie.
just throwing it out there: i believe in happy endings. ones in real life. but i kind of disagree with the author a little bit, in that i don’t think happy endings necessarily have to be perfect and unblemished to qualify as happy endings. that may be the way “happily ever after” is generally presented, but to me, “happily ever after” means, maybe some shit happened, but none of it was completely devastating, and in the final analysis, life was satisfying. that’s the kind of real life happy ending i’m aiming (and hoping) for. this might sound vague but i hope it’ll make sense if you read the book.
if you wanna do that, btw, i read it for free online at allnovel dot net.

CHANYEOL
Death becomes him, he thinks. It suits him in a way that feels as though it were tailored just for him, follows in his shadows and never really leaves the soil beneath his fingernails because it wears him. It wears him like armor and never has he found it within himself to grieve or mourn this reality. Death belongs to him, is born from him, and allows him to feel free.
Death is his armor but never his suitor, and only now, in the wake of Hero’s wide eyes and vicious tongue, is he starting to feel his control over death slip from his grasp.
Standing on the armory roof, arms crossed and mind reeling, Chanyeol feigns an expression of reticence as he accepts the fact that death is shrouding him, for the first time, without his consent. Staring straight ahead, he wills his attention to be focused on the blanket of stars above his head or the soft glow of the streets below, but all he can see is Hero. For days he has been haunted by her, haunted by her smell and taste in the air, but now he is haunted by everything she comes to represent. Her presence means weakness. Her presence means the certain, complete erasure and shutting down of covens as all wasted souls are burned by her command.
Her presence means cataclysm.
From the moment he saw her, turning in the trunk to greet his eyes with a scowl, deep in the catacombs of his black heart he knew she was an omen. Speaking to her felt like releasing the latch of a bomb. Touching her felt like holding a flood between his hands. Standing next to her felt like being burned alive and reborn within the same moment, like standing next to the sun. All the times he pressed his back into his bed to cower away from the sound of her rushing blood, all the times he gagged himself on a shirt to avoid the taste of her sweat permeating the bunker, the delectable taste was not of vulnerable humanity, it was of war and now he knows why he tried to run from it.
Everything about her is a pull and lure, designed to tempt him to the edge of his existence. Everything about her spells his weakness, because she is persuasion personified, and no man could ever avoid his fate.
But more than existing as his weakness, she is the unavoidable, unequivocal reality of war.
When Jinsoo invited him into his coven, sat him at a table, and handed him a fountain pen sharpened to a fine point, Chanyeol knew that war was slithering beneath their feet like a political undercurrent. When he slid the pen across his wrist, took his blood as ink, and signed his name, he could smell it oozing off the parchment. When the deal soured, he could smell it on the tire tracks. But now, with Hero and the bonfire of her will to survive, he knows that war, battle, and torn limbs are unavoidable. There is no amount of negotiation or threatening to put an end to this, no scale for the amount of blood that will be spilled because it is limitless.
War began on the day of her birth and will only end after all the blood of the losing side has been spilled.
He’s felt it before, the white hot burn of his gun against his back and the twitch in his fingers to pull the trigger, the nerves of his body preparing for the smell of blood before his mind accepts the toll. Usually, he relishes the sensation. Usually, he finds it both satisfying and happenstance, amounting to nothing more than a passing thrill or a necessary par for the course. He’s built a kingdom of slit throats and pulsing veins, necks tilting as if he were their axis, but now with a Reader, he’s less keen to tear flesh and break jaws. Before his eyes, the precipice of eradication had come to rest at his feet and, as he looks out over the city, he begins to see every landscape and every alternative become little more than scorched earth.
This time, the death he senses has every possibility to be his own.
Perhaps most disturbing to him, most upsetting of all, is not so much the knowledge of these things, the sureness of them, it is the paradoxical fact that when he is near her, he feels invincible. To call her a weapon is an understatement, she is nothing short of a nuclear reactor beneath his skin. It takes all of his self-control not to become reckless in her presence because she is there and it is easy to assume she is his.
The reality is that she belongs to no man. She is an island of power unto herself, and yet he is pulled to her shores like a lonely moon. The danger in her, the sheer violence of her mood and will, is the kindling to his flame, and he feels a pull to her unlike any other. This is the true horror of her nature, this is her true power. The ability to pull even the strongest men into her hold, the ability to tempt only with the possibility of victory, sex, and power.
At every turn, she surprises him, defies him, moves in a concentric circle of perpetual disobedience and he finds that he is glad for it, glad that she exercises her will at every turn. This is how he knows he change is already starting, knows that she has already begun to fill her purpose. She chooses to disobey his wishes and he finds that he is lenient. She fights him at every turn and he bends to her will.
At every turn, he will choose to protect her.
His thoughts are disrupted by the sound of the latch being pushed on the emergency exit door, though he doesn’t bother turning to greet the intruder.
‘Sire, we need you to review CCTV footage in the security room,’ Jongdae announces, a hint of urgency laced through the words.
Chanyeol can hear the tension in his voice, can hear the pressing need for action, but does not move. Tonight, he thinks urgency has no place. Tonight, he’d rather take his time for these may be the last expendable moments he has. Moving to hold his hands loosely behind his back, he speaks out and over the city in a calm, pensive tone.
‘Are you ready to die for this coven?’
Even with his back turned, he can sense Jongdae bristling at the question. Caught off guard, he prepares an answer in an even, respectful voice that masks his surprise.
‘You know my oath,’ is his plain reply.
Chanyeol smiles, releasing a soft laugh. It is a good and true answer, a very Jongdae answer, even though it is not the answer he wanted.
‘That was not the question,’ he states, though it comes out gentle and almost placid.
Jongdae approaches his right side, hands digging into the pockets of his trousers. He stands to view the city with the same air of concern and apprehension as Chanyeol and, for a moment, he thinks Jongdae has been reading his mind even though it is not his gift.
‘I was ready to die for the brotherhood the moment I agreed to turn,’ he explains, releasing a heavy sigh. ‘I believed you when you told me this was the only way we could fight.’
Chanyeol regards his second for a moment, studying the way he watches the clouds as though they are his children. As always, the affinity between them resonates, both their souls and spirits sky born and desperate to fly. As always, they watch the stars together with longing.
‘History may be repeating itself,’ Chanyeol announces, airily.
Jongdae merely nods.
‘Then the question of death has come to face us once more, and you should already know my answer.’
Chanyeol nods briefly with him, only to stop and frown. ‘The day is approaching.’
‘You can sense it?’ Eyes still fixed on the sky, Chanyeol can almost hear Jongdae’s brown furrowing. He is trying to wade his way through Chanyeol’s meaning, sort through the words and come up with answers based on what he knows of their life together, though nothing could prepare him for the truth.
There’s no simple way for Chanyeol to tell him, no possible way to ease him into the news. What he says now will hurt Jongdae, hurt him deeply and force old wounds to bleed once more because there are some scars even time cannot heal. There is no easy way for him to say it, so he does the best he can with a kindness he’s not used to handling.
‘What I am going to tell you will influence the way you view the continuation of your life,’ he begins, his voice little more than a tepid pool of caution. ‘Our futures will be defined by this and we will need to hold a council meeting.’
He adds the last sentence in the hopes of keeping Jongdae focused, keep him from reacting in a way that would influence the weather. All he really succeeds is doing is forcing lines of worry to appear along his forehead, causing him to turn and face his sire with a look of unease.
‘It’s been three centuries since we’ve had to do that,’ he says, warily.
Chanyeol nods, not fully inclined to meet Jongdae’s eyes. Not yet. Not when he’s starting to feel like a boy. Not when the words he needs to say feel like a secret that will ruin his childhood friend. Again.
‘I didn’t think we’d have to do it again so soon,’ he concedes with a shaking breath.
He decides then to just say it, to release it into the world without care.
‘Our human captive is a Reader.’
Beside him, light cracks of electricity begin to burst. They don’t touch him or burn him, they merely make the hairs on his arm stand to attention. Glancing to his side he can see green sparks dance between Jongdae’s fingers, jumping from one knuckle to the next, until many tiny sparks combine to form three long embers of lightning. He’s holding them in his hands, looking more like a god or Zeus than any maker or Sire he’s seen, and Chanyeol knows he is holding himself back. The way his arms twitch and fingers shake, the way his jaw clenches and unclenches, and his chest hardly moves as he holds his breath to keep his fangs in check. This is true rage and control, a beast living and dying without a single word being spoken.
And as quickly as it started, Jongdae pulls himself back under control and turns back to face the sky. Distantly, a crack of thunder rolls and echoes with no rain to follow.
‘So the end is near,’ he eventually declares, voice dry.
‘One end is approaching,’ Chanyeol clarifies, turning back to study the moon. ‘It is up to her to decide which it is.’
A long, shuddering breath emerges from Jongdae’s chest, like he’s run for miles to get to Chanyeol. Perhaps, in his mind, that’s exactly what he’s doing. ‘So the change has started, then?’
Grateful for the change in subject, the move away from the fact she is a reader to what it means for Chanyeol, he finds himself relaxing into the topic with a crack of his neck. ‘From the moment I saw her, yes.’
‘Is that why you’ve been...indulgent?’ he asks, smoothly.
Chanyeol scoffs at the word. ‘She doesn’t see it as such.’
‘Of course she wouldn’t,’ Jongdae agrees with a snort, ‘though it was for her protection.’
Chanyeol cocks his eyebrow and turns to face Jongdae. ‘Would you like to reason with her?’ he taunts.
‘No, thank you.’
‘Yes,’ he sighs, turning back to the sky. ‘I imagine it must have been hard for her to feel static electricity on her skin for no reason.’
The memory of Hero’s face as she regarded all the coven generals at the ceremony floats through his mind, her eyes wide and confused as each member bewildered her more than the last. At the time, he thought it was just reckless indignation that made her squirm in discomfort, but now, with the realization that she is a Reader, he almost feels sympathetic towards the onslaught of sensations that must have wracked her body. In particular, he almost wants to apologize for having her look at Baekhyun without any sort of preparation. She must have been blinded.
‘I guess you could say I’m shocking.’
Jongdae’s joke filters through the night air, forced and out of place. It’s uncomfortable in its cadence, strained and almost bashful in its attempt to carry on and evade the reality that he is crumbling. But in its wake, Chanyeol finds himself smiling. For the first time in centuries, Jongdae stands before him as his childhood best friend and as a human.
‘Goodness, Jongdae, a pun?’ he mutters in teasing surprise. ‘Keeping Junmyeon at your side too long?’
‘Perhaps, though it could be the idea of death approaching making me feel light hearted.’ The clenching in Jongdae’s throat and the tightness in his voice gives him away, and Chanyeol is too happy to gloss over it in the pretense of keeping the conversation light.
‘Jongdae, we are the same age. You make it sound as though we are as old as the sun.’
‘It feels that way, from time to time.’
‘Jesus, you have been spending too much time with Junmyeon,’ Chanyeol laughs in disbelief. ‘Spend three days with Sehun, old man. Learn to smile again.’
With a disgruntled sort of chuckle, Jongdae turns to Chanyeol and fixes his face into one of professional impassiveness. ‘As wondrous as this conversation is, we do need you downstairs.’
‘Spoil sport,’ he concedes, straightening his back and preparing to let time move again.
‘Trust me you will want to see it.’
In unison, they turn from the roof and head towards the door. He allows Jongdae to lead the way, turning back once more as he passes to regard the night sky. Catching up with the present makes him feel like he’s moving away from the man he was and sometimes thinks he’d like to be again. Catching up with the present makes his chest burn and his fingers instinctively twitch for a trigger, and it always takes him a moment to get used to the sensation of being at odds with himself.
‘Jongin is on security?’ he asks, building his voice back to its normal cadence of authority.
‘Yes, until sunrise.’
They move through the hallway in silence, the footsteps of their leather boots echoing off the walls in soft, rhythmic patterns. It is rare that CCTV footage needs to be reviewed. Chanyeol thinks he can count the number of times they’ve had to watch a tape back on one hand, most intrusions clearly a halfling or an animal scurrying through the night. Whatever Jongin found must surely have alarmed the young vampire.
‘What’s happened?’ Chanyeol asks as soon as he steps through the door of the security room. He comes to stand behind Jongin, eyes immediately raising the the twelve screens connected to the wall in a square. Each screen shows a different angle of the coven perimeter, all in crisp black and white night vision.
Jongin types a series of codes into the DOS log box on camera 9, and the screen flashes twice before reverting back. The scenery looks the same, unchanged and uninteresting, with the only clue of a change being the time stamp dictating the screen is in the past.
‘This footage is from 02:00 hours, around the left perimeter bank,’ Jongin explains hurriedly. ‘I watched it back three times before alerting Jongdae.’
Chanyeol frowns, glancing from the screen to Jongin and back again. ‘A perimeter breach? Why didn’t the alarm sound?’
‘Well,’ Jongin begins, but hesitates. ‘Just look. You’ll see why.’
He taps the keyboard and the screen begins to play. For a moment there is nothing, no movement on the screen to raise any sort of alarm. But then, from the bottom right corner, a long line of static moves across the screen to the left perimeter wall. Blurred as though the tape itself were warped and torn, it doesn’t hesitate when it approaches the wall and merely moves through it at as though it wasn’t there at all.
Children are told stories from a young age that vampires have no reflections or are unable to be viewed through photographs and videos, their lack of a soul dictating there is nothing to be given back within the frame. While some myths of their kind are true, many are not, and no vampire is immune to the video capture of a military grade camera. And so it is clear this diversion was done on purpose, the necessity of movement under stealth planned and willingly enacted in a blatant move of disobedience and betrayal.
‘Well that’s one way to get out,’ Chanyeol mutters under his breath. ‘Wall phasing?’
‘It moves in the direction of Jinsoo’s coven,’ Jongin explains, pointing to the screen with his pen. ‘Look at the trajectory. It comes from the training hangar and out to the left flank. A figure waits along the banks, though I can’t make out who it is. It appears they were waiting for this arrival.’
He pauses the footage and zooms in on a dark, hooded figure lingering half inside the frame just beyond the barrier. It’s clothed, so not a halfling, though the image is not clear enough to discern who or what it could be.
‘Keep an eye on this side of a perimeter for a halfling,’ Chanyeol demands. ‘This could be who is making them. Possibly a team, of sorts.’
‘We have a mole,’ Jongdae announces, voicing Chanyeol’s concerns. ‘Who knows how long he’s been inside.’
Since the arrival of the Reader, Chanyeol had been moving and placing his chess pieces in preparation of defense. Every action he had taken had been in the guise of proving the deal had been tarnished before it had been signed, though he had no true discernible proof beyond gut instinct. But now, he supposes, the proof he has found is much worse than all his fantasies.
Until Sehun’s initiation, the last time a new member had been brought to the coven was over seventy years ago. While he was unable to place a name to the mole, their visage hidden away and kept secret by the nature of their power, it was certain they had been planted years before the deal had even been concocted. There was no telling how much information had been filtered over to Jinsoo throughout the past century, at least.
And it makes sense now, he thinks, for a Reader to fall so inelegantly into his lap. The winds of change and war have been blowing so long, he’s almost surprised she didn’t arrive sooner.
‘Do we notify the brotherhood?’ Jongin asks, though his tone does little to mask his anxiety.
Young, though having lived through and survived two coven wars, Jongin always approaches battle with the cautious eyes of a boy. Chanyeol appreciates it, finds that, after so long of willingly tears jaws apart, the softness in Jongin’s voice grounds him and forces him to consider loss of life before loss of bullets.
‘We cannot alert the coven of the betrayal, not until we know who it is,’ Chanyeol says, curtly. ‘For now, we act normally and lay low to prevent suspicion. We need to remain a unified front.’
‘Sire, there’s still the chance of an attack from within,’ Jongdae says with a scowl, eyes trained back on the screen.
For a moment, Chanyeol considers this. He runs through all his options and finds that he is glad Sehun was initiated before this discovery. He’s glad Sehun spent so long toiling in the armory.
‘We notify our suppliers. Start with blood and weapons,’ he orders. ‘This will be Sehun’s first operation. Tell him to prepare.’
‘We should change the locks on each supply door. Only you and I keep the keys,’ Jongdae claims, rolling immediately along with the thoughts in Chanyeol’s head.
‘Yes, but we should give keys to Minseok,’ he affirms. ‘Junmyeon remains at your side often enough, and Minseok leads our security banks. We can’t leave him unprepared.’
At this, Jongdae nods and leaves the room, heading in the direction of Minseok’s bunker.
Chanyeol turns his eyes back to the screen before him and studies the shape of the blur, studies the dark figure at the side of the frame, and begins to imagine every action he decides to take as a domino.
‘There will be a council meeting before dawn,’ he murmurs to Jongin. ‘Please prepare.’
He doesn’t have to look at Jongin to know that a myriad of thoughts and emotions are passing over his face.
‘Sire, it’s been -’
‘Yes, I know,’ he says cooly, cutting the him off. ‘I regret that it has to be so soon for another.’
Council meetings are never to be taken lightly, only taking place when Chanyeol feels he needs the voices of all his generals to guide him through turmoil.
Council meetings are always the start of war, the first round table of action to reaction; conversations preceding the loss of blood.
The last time a council meeting occurred with a Reader in existence, at least in Chanyeol’s lifetime, was the week before he died.
History, he thinks, seems to be repeating itself.

what drugs have you tried and what were they like? have you ever tried ketamine?
i have tried coke, mdma, shrooms, lsa/morning glory and adderall!! i haven’t tried ketamine and don’t rly plan to cuz it doesn’t seem like my type of drug but who knows, man…
oh let me preface by saying everything besides the lsa i took while either drunk or stoned (or both…almost always both)… i RLY like mixing drugs but if you dont know about the multiplier effect, different drugs getting taken at once will have a different(and usually stronger) reaction than taking it by itself, so my experiences with everything might be WAY different than the norm, who knows
coke i didnt particularly like and i MIIIIGHT try it one more time like if it just happens to be in the area i wouldnt turn it down probably but i thought it was EH. (i was also drunk, stoned, and had mdma in my system, so).. it def gave me more energy, it made my tongue and hands numb, there was a slight like jittery feeling behind my eyes, like my vision itself was buzzing a lil which made looking at things fun… honestly tho? it just made me feel manic. i’m manic all the time, bruh, dont need a drug to help me with that… 2/10 not in a rush to try again
mdma i LOOOOOVED…. it and shrooms are tied for my favorite drugs holy FUCK. again, i think its a drug that most people use to elevate mood because, again, it booted me towards feeling manic, but i feel like it was a little calmer with mdma than with coke (aka no jitters, no bursts of energy rly, it felt more subtle). everything got nice and loose which was nice. when you’re moving it’s GREAT, it just fades into the background and just makes everything feel more intense and makes you feel more present in it. every time i was still, tho, i NOTICED it, because it would all whoosh into my head (i get like that when i’m stoned too so that could’ve been cuz of the pot). MDMA MAKES SEX S O GOOD I CAME FAR TOO MUCH AND IT ALMOST KILLED ME LMFAO. it just makes skin feel.. REALLY GOOD…. NICE GOOD FEELS… like i’m constantly just almost JUST able to float out of my skin and HAVING skin is the only thing keeping me from levitating up into the sky, it’s wonderful. usually you get a crash after taking it where you get depressed apparently but i didn’t ever get like that the times i did it. also, mdma would make me hallucinate a little… don’t know why! they were mostly all visual and almost always the same one, i would start seeing little kalaidescopes everywhere and the colors were always green to purple to red and all these made-up colors in between…. and this would happen if i tried to focus on one thing for more than 5 seconds… for a while afterwards those little hallucinations would come back, at first with the same like NICE GOOD FEELS and later it’d just be the hallucinations themselves… usually triggered by coming cuz both times i tried mdma i ended up having sex on it SO YEAH… DEF RECOMMEND, DRINK LOTS OF WATER
shrooms.. are… i have a tag dedicated to the experience lmfao. i’ve had it 3 times, and it was always after eating an edible at some point beforehand. i have a friend who had a rly bad trip once and another who, after doing acid (and having a fine trip), ended up getting triggered into a psychotic break, so i was worried about freaking out and i found that just getting a little stoned beforehand keeps me relaxed the whole time but also made the high stronger… it’s just amazing. incredibly spiritual, a LOT more physical than i thought it would be. it’s… all-encompassing. my friend and i, after we did it together, explained it like…you TRY and explain it but it’s something you only rly have words for it while you’re on it, and you just lose the ability to fully, accurately comprehend it when you return. like, at times i felt like i WAS god, at time i felt like i was being hurtled through universes, at times i felt the LITERAL FABRIC OF REALITIES like i could SEE THEM and i could dip my fingers through them and i could see the strings of time and fucking touch them and it’s so powerful and visceral and REAL… it’s honestly insane. i described it AS going insane, like at points i just… would see the state in my mind labeled ‘sanity’ and i phased through it and went beyond. you become so… wise???? you suddenly have access to languages and colors and senses that never and always existed??? but i also can’t stress just how STUPID you get. conversations would go from describing the secrets of life and death and the universe to thinking you turned into a chipmunk.. my friend nearly fucked his guitar and, tbh, i almost did to,,,. sometimes i couldn’t stop moving and other times i would just be laying on the floor completely stil before SUDDENLY JOLTING UP AND SCREAMING cuz my soul had floated out of my body, danced through a star and suddenly CRASHED back into my flesh vessel. the longest trip was 4 hours… all my hallucinations that i had were visual or tactile, the visual ones were very innocent and subtle… like, one trip, everything would get fuzzy in a way where it looks like someone had painted the world with smears of watercolors.. but my friend, who took WAY stronger shrooms (THE strongest, while i took the weakest) would literally SEE ducks and cubes and shit morphing in front of him… EVERYTHING is weird, like all your senses switch places with each other and suddenly you can touch with your eyes and taste sounds and music got RLY scary and i wish i got to see what sex on shrooms is like but.. alas…
LSA is something a lot of ppl have never heard of, so let me explain it!! morning glory is a type of flower… the seeds contain something called LSA which is PRETTY MUCH a natural form of acid… so, if you eat enough of the seeds it will make you trip!!! it was the first drug i ever took (even before drinking and smoking)… it lasted a long LONG time, like 16 hours straight. i would see rainbows like emenating from every tree and also i rolled pantless on my carpet for like half of those hours cuz the sense of touch was so NIIICE it just made everything feel so nice and warm, i would get a lot of ripples of sensation and i was HYPERaware of my insides which felt gross and made eating impossible but it was a great experience, especially if it’s your first time trying drugs +o+ warning it does make a lot of people nauseous tho, i was fine but if anyone tries it, make sure to wash it RLY well because these are quite literally flower seeds so they are covered in pesticides..
adderall i’m putting here cuz it’s something i use recreationally, i’ve never had it prescribed but i love it SO much. mostly i just use it to keep me grounded… sometimes pot makes me rly paranoid and anxious (and i don’t even have an anxiety disorder so i have absolutely NO basis or idea how to cope with it so i freak out twice as much) and i’m just very uncomfortable with being… ‘chill’? it makes me feel nonfunctional haha so i usually take adderall with it to be able to function again. when i take a shitload it can make me very jittery tho, like… cranked up with caffiene jitters… the FIRST TIME i tried adderall was the best time because, god, the FOCUS of adderall combined with the impulsiveness of being drunk holy FUCK. SO fun. it’s just a nice thing to keep you composed when you’re doing a lot of party drugs, especially once you get used to it and know how to monitor it well. it’ll keep you tethered to a certain level while also making that level stronger… LOTS of bad effects with it though so this rly is one to be careful of but it’s so useful goddamn
AND YEAH THAT’S IT SO FAR…. like literally so many of my friends are into trying shit (actors, man..) so who knows what i’ll have to add to this list by next year jnlggs

Book: The Crucifix Killer (Robert Hunter, #1)
Author: Chris Carter
Rating: 5/5 Stars
Would I recommend this book: YESS!!!
Review Under Cut...
What makes a good thriller/suspense/mystery book?
Being a little confused, lol. If you're reading a suspense book and you have it all figured out, then it isn't a good one. Being slightly confused compel to me to read more so that I can solve the mystery and The Crucifix Killer did just that.
Like most good thriller/suspense books there is always a tortured cop, like our lead detective Robert Hunter. He was kinda a cliche, your normal tortured soul who doesn't want a new partner, drinks too much, and can't sleep at a night, we see this a million times. And of course he is describe as handsome, with many people hitting on him. Still tho he was enjoyable.
What I really enjoyed about this book is I thought I had it figured it out a few times, but each time I was wrong. The killer was giving us enough clues to lead us the wrong way without it seeming like I was stupid.
There is a ton of dialogue, but it adds and help the story. At some points I actually felt like I was reading case files. While it had action, you had to read thru 2 chapters of dialogue to get to it. But the pace was steady and kept me interested.
Trigger Warning: Sex, Rape, Suggested Child Rape.
