On Project Moon
Hey, this is gonna be long, I'm putting most of it under the cut. This post is about the recent firing of VellMori from Project Moon, I know that it warrants some tags for triggers, but I have no idea what's commonly used, so if I miss something, please tell me.
Additionally, I have written this up in a way that if it escapes the target audience of Project Moon fans, it can still be understood, so with that in mind, there will be Library of Ruina spoilers.
The tl;dr for those who don't wanna read the full thing is that Project Moon was put in a very bad position with some violent extremists targeting them and that I'm not happy about any of what happened.
So, for those unaware, Project Moon has fired VellMori, the CG artist for Limbus Company. Now, a not inaccurate statement that can be made from this is "Project Moon fired a woman for being a feminist" but this is... somewhat reductive. Let's immediately get out of the way that VellMori did absolutely nothing wrong. Some people have said she is a TERF. I've seen no evidence of this. Some people have said she wished death on all men. I've seen no evidence of this.
What I HAVE seen is that VellMori thinks sexual abuse is bad. Now, why would this lead to a firing? The short answer is that a bunch of violent incels, one of which was literally dressed as a clown, came knocking at their office doors.
See, Limbus Company has a "beach" event coming up. In this event, we are getting a water themed outfit for two of the characters, one male and one female. For Sinclair, the guy, he has been given an EXTREMELY slutty mechanic's outfit. For Ishmael, the woman, she has been given a very skintight wet suit outfit. Now, I wanna take care to note that VellMori is the CG artist - she had no hand in these designs, a man made them. I would also like to mention that both outfit designs are amazing, and I will be including them at the end of this post for reference.
Now, upon revealing the wet suit design for Ishmael, a bunch of whiny incels on what is basically Korean 4chan got upset that Ishmael, instead of being in a bikini as is usual for gacha games, was wearing a wet suit. Nevermind that the designs in Limbus Company have always been conservative and that the Sinclair design is the most skin we've ever seen and it's just an open shirt. Again, the wet suit is still super revealing, it's skin tight and this is literally the first design of her that doesn't make her look flat chested. They're not rioting over the lack of sex appeal, they're specifically mad that it's not a bikini.
The incels come to the conclusion that the lack of any skin being shown on Ishmael's outfit is a result of evil feminism. No, I'm not exaggerating. They initially begin harassing the artist who is actually responsible for drawing the outfits, but upon learning that he is a man, set their sights on VellMori because she's a woman, and being an artist is good enough I guess. What they do from here is they start digging and digging and digging on VellMori's twitter, making use of archived pages because many of the "offensive" tweets had been deleted.
I'd like to take a moment to point out that VellMori never actually tweeted anything out here - it was all retweets from a 4-6 year old archive, and retweets that have been long deleted. These retweets contain such transgressive statements as "I'm sick of misogyny" and "If being against patriarchy makes me antisocial, then so be it" and just... mirroring back to men what those men were saying to women. Some people would like to have you think she was calling for death to all men. She wasn't. She ALSO retweeted all this stuff while she was a teenager and well before she worked for Project Moon.
Nonetheless, the incels had decided that feminism was the reason Ishmael had a wet suit and not a bikini and they had found a feminist working for Project Moon. It is at this point that we must take a brief detour and talk about Library of Ruina, Project Moon's previous game.
See, in Library of Ruina, one of the protagonists, Angela, has this whole arc about escaping her abuser and becoming a human. Yes, she is literally a robot, but Project Moon isn't exactly a stranger to symbolism in their stories and a feminist reading of Angela is ridiculously easy. The main antagonist in Library of Ruina is Argalia, the Blue Reverberation, and his crew is called the Reverberation Ensemble. Every member of the Reverberation Ensemble is a violent lunatic who each want to reinforce the status quo in their own unique shitty way. In addition to this, typically in order to reach the titular Library, you would need to be invited. The Reverb Ensemble are the "uninvited guests", the ones who managed to reach the Library and knock down the door without an invite.
Why am I talking about this? Well, the incels decided to start calling themselves the Reverb Ensemble, and referring to each other using names of the Reverb Ensemble members such as Pluto, Elena, and Oswald. Having taken on the moniker of the uninvited guests, they then showed up to Project Moon's office to protest. Over the lack of a bikini. Now, remember how I mentioned someone was dressed up as a clown? One of the Reverb Ensemble members, Oswald, is a clown with an extremely tenuous grip on reality. So much so, that his ideal world is one in which there is no meaning whatsoever. That is the character they chose to dress up as. This is either a case of extreme self awareness or extreme self unawareness.
Eventually, the incels were let into the office possibly as a form of damage mitigation to prevent the crowd of protestors from getting any bigger. This was a questionable decision, but they had a group of violent incels at their doorstep either way, and I don't exactly have full details on this. Regardless, Project Moon had on their hands a group of violent protesting incels, who they felt compelled to let into the building, and who had demands including the firing of their feminist employee. (7/28 update: a translation of the transcript posted to DCInside has surfaced. Please check the reblogs for it. Project Moon was verifiably threatened.)
So while "Project Moon fired a woman for being a feminist" isn't inaccurate it also isn't the full picture. More appropriately, it'd be "Project Moon fired a woman because a group of violent incels who weren't satisfied with a form fitting wet suit instead of a bikini showed up to their office demanding that an artist who did not make the wet suit design be fired because she retweeted some feminist stuff 5 years ago while she was a teenager".
I'm not happy with this. None of this is good. People are allowed to be feminists, and Project Moon stories have always presented progressive ideas to anyone with half a brain to do some basic literary analysis. I can understand why they would cave to the demands of people who were threatening them and showed up to their actual place of work, but at the same time, that's someone's livelihood gone and proof that in the future, the same sorts of people can use the same sorts of tactics to bully Project Moon into doing whatever they want. All of this sucks.
For those who would like to see the retweets in question alongside translations: https://twitter.com/danghwangs/status/1683884236888223744
And for people who would like reference as to what the artworks these incels were up in arms about, Ishmael in the wet suit and Sinclair in the mechanic's outfit.

PMMM episode 9-12 recap
Mami's story is about how being a Magical Girl is tragic. Sayaka's story is about what happens when a Magical Girl cannot handle the despair of their life. Homura's story is about clinging to hope even in a hopeless situation.
Prior to this point, the Magical Girl system was presented as flawed and broken. Girls are chosen to protect the world from witches and in exchange, they are granted a wish to fulfill some great desire of theirs.
However, being a Magical Girl is an ultimately thankless job fraught with peril both from witches and other Magical Girls of dubious morals.
But with the reveal that Magical girls are just juvenile witches, we learn that the system is neither flawed nor broken. It is working exactly as intended. And now the mask comes off.
If I had prior knowledge of the series, it would be more appropriate to include episode 9 in the previous recap because episodes 5-9 are a whole arc to themselves. But I guess that's what happens when you do blind discussions.
Sayaka and Kyouko's arc is focused on the duality of hope and despair. Both made a wish to bring hope to someone only for that wish to bring them despair. And they had opposite reactions to it. Kyouko decided to shut herself away and live only for herself while Sayaka doubled down and continued to let herself be hurt in some vain attempt to say her life has meaning.
If I were to make an allegory to any real world aspects, Sayaka and Kyouko's story is about suicidal depression and episode 9 is when it reaches that point where the victim has decided to go through with it.
Kyouko's entire strategy to save Sayaka essentially boiled down to bringing the people who care about her together to help Sayaka recover from her heartbreak and sorrow. But when that fails because everything has become too much for Sayaka to handle, Kyouko chooses to stay by Sayaka to the end so that she won't die alone and think she wasn't loved.
With each episode, Kyubey becomes more and more open about how the entire system is intended to exploit girls rather than help them. And he ultimately intends to abandon humanity to be destroyed by the witches created by this system when he has everything he needs.
It's kind of like a corporation coming in saying it will boost the local economy so you should let it do as it pleases. And over time, it drives out the local population because people start moving in to work there, land is torn down to make more room for the corporation, and the soil, air, and water become polluted because the corporation controls the system and can do what it wants.
But all the money goes to the executives and when there's no more value to be had, the corporation abandons the area leaving behind destroyed land and a destroyed community that will now die because of what the corporation did.
Kyubey's remarks that his species calls emotions a mental illness just adds even further to the exploitative nature of the system. The system is meant to target beings who by his definition would be more vulnerable.
And his method of only giving half-truths or withholding information unless explicitly asked is an aspect of this exploitation. He's deliberately presenting things in a way that preys upon human vulnerabilities. He even admits that his species studied humans and found that young girls going through puberty were the ideal targets and then catered the system specifically to target them.
Kinda like how games with gacha elements are designed to exploit people with gambling addictions.
And since the power that is made from a magical girl becoming a witch is tied to her role on fate, Kyubey is really only interested in targeting people born into high positions or with great skill. Basically, Kyubey is propping up those who exist because of survivorship bias.
I'd wondered why he didn't just go to some war-torn nation and offer a contract to every girl about to die, and I guess it's because they would offer so little power that Kyubey deemed them worthless.
Meanwhile, girls from prosperous nations have far more potential to have an impact on the world, so Kyubey hangs around nations like Japan where he can look for big potential targets while also getting some decent secondary targets.
Anyway, I'm going to move onto Homura. I got really into talking about episode 10 and how it recontextualizes the entire series so I'm going to focus more on episodes 11 and 12.
Everything Homura is doing is to save Madoka. At first, she wanted to restart when she met her so they could fight side-by-side. But then she discovered the truth of the system and fought to save Madoka from her fated death or transformation after the walpurgis night.
And since hope and despair exist together, the more Homura fought to save Madoka, the more aggressively Kyubey tried to make Madoka a magical girl. With each new timeline formed, Madoka's potential grew because every timeline tied back to her.
Homura's story is about her fighting against the despair that comes with being a magical girl. She tries to cling to hope in a situation that is hopeless. Each time she fails to save Madoka, she tries again, only for the next attempt to become even more difficult than the last one. She always managed to push back the inevitable, but in the end, she always lost.
And at the end of this story, Homura still never achieved her goal. She never managed to stop Madoka from becoming a magical girl, and it ultimately resulted in Madoka vanishing from existence. This should be the moment of ultimate despair for Homura where all her efforts come to nothing.
Madoka struggles with feeling inadequate. She initially wanted a rather tautological wish. She was going to become a magical girl by wishing to be a magical girl. She thought being a magical girl would give her the chance to help others, make the world better, and ensure her life mattered in some way. And her wish ultimately is an extension of that. She wished to be helpful to all magical girls who ever did and would exist by becoming the hope that drives them and chases away despair.
In the new world Madoka created, Mami, Kyouko, and Sayaka still became magical girls; and Sayaka still despaired over how her wish turned out. But instead of becoming a witch - a being that represents despair - Madoka took Sayaka from the world and showed her what happened to Kyousuke because of her wish.
Madoka showed Sayaka that her life mattered in some way.
Homura's wish and desires ultimately can never come true. But instead of giving into despair as she would in the old system, she's been given a new hope and purpose. Madoka became the very embodiment of hope thanks to Homura's efforts. And as the only person who will ever remember Madoka, Homura is now able to start the next phase of her life where Madoka's words echo in her ears and she shows that Madoka's life matters.
Homura should try spreading Madoka's name around as the patron saint of magical girls. Madoka is literally the goddess of hope who protects magical girls in this new universe.

So is Wind 100% a Navigator or does she just fill Makoto鈥檚 role as the weakness identifier?
I genuinely don't know, if I'm being honest. I haven't been able to listen to her voice files myself, as I don't know how to open them, so I'm just going on the other dataminer's word that that's what they found. I wish they'd post evidence, but they also haven't spread lies in the past as far as I've seen, so I guess there's no specific reason to doubt them.
The idea that she might just help identify weaknesses/operate as a temporary navigator (like Queen), prior to the real one joining the team, isn't actually something I've seen anyone suggest yet, though! That would make a lot of sense, though I'd still wonder a bit why she has those lines if by that point the player's likely to already have one of the Phantom Idol navigators. Cattle has lines for that as well (like Mona), but you do at least hear those at the very beginning of the game... unless they plan on changing the gacha in the final game so you don't get navigators as quickly?

Remembering what was Lost: My Dragalia Lost Experience
Tumblr media
My time with Dragalia Lost wasn't as long as I wished it could be. I knew about the game since its launch, but my low quality phone at the time made it almost impossible to play. It felt like a tragedy since the concept of forging bonds with dragons pulled me in like everyone else. It wasn't until the fall of last year I played the game consistently after upgrading my phone. For a while, it seemed like I found my daily routine. I'd login every day for daily challenges, linger on the main menu to hear my units chat it up, fall in love with adventurer stories, and bob my head to epic boss music. All was going well until news of the end of service struck the community.
To say we were all shocked is a huge understatement. An important part of our lives was about to join the graveyard of forever lost video games. With news of Dl's impending doom, I was forced to reflect on my experience with the title and came to a surprising conclusion: Dragalia Lost is easily one of my favourite games of all time.
I don't usually talk about video games on this blog, but Dragalia Lost holds a special place in my heart for being the most fun I've had with a mobile game. It hit all of that boxes that other gacha games struggle to keep up with.
It's impossible to talk about DL Without mentioning Daoko. Whether players are chilling on the home screen, slaying a deadly boss or summoning beloved units, Daoko's pop vocals are bound to be heard. Even some of the instrumental tracks are remixes of her other songs. Her songs fit the game perfectly as they invoke the feeling of a light-hearted and fun-filled adventure. The pop score helps DL stand out from other games which usually use European orchestral music. It gives the game an oddly fitting contemporary atmosphere. Ryusei Toshi and CRASHER remain iconic tunes that gets players into the thrill of a good ol' boss battle.
While on the topic of the sound department, the English voice acting deserves special mention. Ocean Productions was in charge of the voices and that makes DL an incredibly rare case of a Canadian dubbed anime game. Each voice was a breath of fresh air that fit the characters like a glove. Special mention goes to Brian Drummond as Zhu Baije, Tabitha St Germain as Althemia, Richard Ian cox as Ranzal, and Mark Oliver as Hawk.
My only complaint is that the English audio lacks fully voiced dialogue. That could've gone a long way to making the game more immersive.
Pokemon TCG artist Naoki Saito brought his A game with the art design. Most of the characters have highly rememberable designs done in a vibrant pop art style. Character portraits were always a delight to look at due to how much they popped out on the screen. Each adventurer has a unique appearance highly distinct from each other and full of personality. The fun expressive style really added to the Saturday morning cartoon feel of the game. The user interface also has a nice sleek look to it that made navigating menus anything but a chore. While the chibi graphics can seem overly minimalistic at first, that simplicity prevents the game from feeling dated and instead gave it everlasting appeal.
It may seem disingenuous to review a game without mentioning gameplay but there's not much I can say in that department. DL's isometric action RPG style made it stand out from other games on the market even with its very limited attack system. It wasn't the most immersive combat system I've experienced, but it always kept me back for more and never left me bored.
The implementation of skip tickets and auto-loop was a godsend for grinding and made it overall stress-free. I didn't have to waste hours of time just to upgrade a single character. Just hit the auto button and step away from the phone for a while. Seriously, more games need to follow this method instead of making maxing out units so tiresome. The Co-op raid battles also deserve special mention since it was so fun seeing strangers come together to beat a particularly arduous boss. There were several times I relied on Co-op to clear stages because the difficulty is no joke at times. This was especially true for the MARVELOUS final boss Xenos which can easily last half an hour. Now that's how you go out with a bang.
Tumblr media
Last but certainly not least is the story. It starts off simple enough with Euden performing his princely duty of forming a dragonpact; the main draw of the game. Then the game added layers of complexity with Zethia's dark doppelganger and the King's sudden evil disposition. The carefree prince now has to save his kingdom from his treacherous family with an even greater threat looming in the background. The beginning of rbe story was a bit slow at first, but there were enough plot twists and burning questions to keep me fully invested. I so was not prepared for the time travel shenanigans and social commentary on classism/privilege the mid-game story brought.
Tumblr media
And that's only what the main campaign brings to the table. Dragalia has several event stories that heavily build on the robust lore and characterization players love so much. Certain events like Faith Forsaken, Fractured Futures and Advent of the Origin even serve as epilogues to plot points made in the main story. I will admit that there were FAR too many beach themed events for my liking. This game had great slice-of-life moments but it'll be too soon if I ever see another beach adventure in a mobile game.
Finally, it would be irremissible of me not to mention the vocabularian localization provided by 8-4. Character dialogue is stuffed to the gills with personality and colloquialisms you wouldn't expect from this game at first glance. It's guaranteed you learned a few new vocab words after playing the game. Seriously, some of these characters talk like they eat thesaurus' for breakfast. That's when they're too busy spouting meme worthy dialogue at least.
Dragalia may be lost, but I'll never forget the incredible memories I made along the way.

Quick Reviews(?) - Bratz Flashback Minis - Series 1
One of my collector goals is to make a doll version of myself and give them a little room with some miniature furniture. I haven't exactly found stuff that I would want on my mini doll room, but the recent Bratz minis piqued my interest because of course they're gonna be a doll collector too.
Today I got my Amazon parcels and one of them included the advent calendar of this assortment! I've seen reviews of this so I already know what I signed up for. Since it's been on sale for a while I decided that $15 for 10 mini dolls and 5 cosmetics may be a pretty good deal, considering each capsule of 2 costs about $7-$10. If you collected the mini capsules and got lots of the items from series 1 already, you don't really need this. All of the items in this pack (save for one) are in the same series.
The cosmetics were fine. I get that they had to add those in there. It's just kind of weird to put the lipstick and mascara in separate days, and the cute vinyl pouch that came in the capsules wasn't included at all. If I had it my way, I'd add all four Wintertime Wonderland palettes since, you know, it's a winter-themed product.
While we're at it, the choice of dolls was also pretty weird. Ideally, I'd expected all five Wintertime Wonderland dolls in there, Holiday Katia, Cloe, Felicia, and Trinity, and maybe a Wintertime Wonderland Boy. Then the four palettes and the vinyl bag to make it 25. But honestly, I'd still have preferred 20 dolls in total.
The number of items per character was also a bit unbalanced. Every core girl had at least two dolls except for Sasha who had one doll and a palette. I kind of wish they swapped the random Rock Angelz Yasmin for a 20 Yearz Sasha, or even the styling head for more variety. The split between the 20 Yearz and Flaunt It lines were also a bit weird. Although I was happy to get a PnP Cloe, her inclusion in this bunch was also off.
I know I sound like I hate this product but I really don't. I just find so many things about it weird.
Tumblr media
On that note, I also bought two capsules so I could complete the free shipping requirement, and the gacha gods have blessed me because I got the only two sets I actually wanted to have from series 1! The twins, the lip phone, and PnP Jade were my must haves from this particular wave, so I'm pretty much content with everything I got.
I'm still happy with my purchase considering how much I got them for. Now to find a way to display them without looking like a mess!

I've only seen Magia Record Season 1 so far. Now you've got me nervous about catching up. I'm really not interested in playing a gacha game (at all, let alone one that's only in Japanese just to get a little more info about a side story that, if I understand correctly, is in a timeline that was presumably negated like all the others.) Like, if it's possible to explain while avoiding major spoilers, how much am I really missing out on if I only catch up on the anime and don't know about the game? And If learning about the game's plot/characters is important, is there like an easily digestible Youtube video or something that covers the essential information?
First of all, I totally understand about not wanting to play a gacha game, lol. I love Magia Record with all my heart but it's given me a very bad gambling habit, haha.
I will say though that, in the game, the Magia Record timeline is not negated and is in fact stated to be a special, irregular timeline by Madokami herself (that's right, Madokami and the Magia Record timeline exist simultaneously; Madokami cannot interfere without destroying the timeline and so just watches over it. She's also hopeful to see a timeline where magical girls can be saved without her intervening). The anime, in complete contrast, turns the Magia Record timeline into yet another one of Homura's failed timelines that will presumably be retconned when Madoka makes her final wish.
And unfortunately, I did look to find a Youtube video that explains a plot of the Magia Record game but due to its relative obscurity in the West I couldn't find anything. But the Puella Magi Wiki does offer summaries of each chapter of the main story for both Arc 1 and Arc 2, along with the various events, side quests, and magical girl side stories (which can be found on the individual character pages). These summaries are lengthy but it's definitely faster than sitting through 12+ hours of game footage, lol. I definitely recommend reading through the main story summaries for Arc 1 at least so you can see how the story went.
As for your question on how much you're missing out on, I'd say you're missing out on a lot. The anime cut out a lot from the game. Some of it is honestly non-essential, but other parts really helped flesh out the world.
Also, one common complaint I've seen about the Magia Record anime is that there are too many characters and not enough time to develop them. It's a real shame, because I do think the game version of Magia Record's greatest strength is its characters. Characters in the game are able to be fleshed out through their magical girl side stories, events, longer run time of the main story, and even their quotes on the home screen whereas the very compressed runtime of the anime made it so they got much less development. So if there are any characters that grabbed you in the anime or that look interesting on the character page, I definitely recommend checking out their wiki page and their magical girl side story on Youtube.

This is not a team-building question, but I hope it's okay to ask anyway!
Since Masters is very focused on the human characters and sometimes gave them more depth and development, are there characters that you didn't care/didn't like at first when playing the original game, but came around to like them after seeing their Masters portrayal? Are there also characters that you already like in the original game, and like even more after seeing their Masters portrayal?
Are there also your favorite story events and legendary events (so far)? And, what do you think about the Masters-exclusive characters like Paulo, Tina, Lear, Rachel, and Sawyer, as well as the main story about them (PML arc and the villain arc so far)?
You are completely fine to ask questions like this. I'm all for teambuilding stuff, but I generally just like talking about my opinions, so this is very welcome.
For the first question, I'd say Sophocles is probably the biggest upgrade for me? Like I really didn't like the kid at all in SuMo, I felt like he was super forgettable, but there's just something about his interactions with Cyrus that really make him interesting to me. Like it's so much more development than we got for him anywhere else, I kinda like it. I'd also probably include just about anyone from Gen 6. I didn't dislike them, but found them pretty unremarkable, they didn't leave much of an impression. But a lot of the Center conversations really elevated them. I'd say Diantha just exudes a lot of character she never got to show off in her base game, and while still confusing, Lysandre here seems at least a bit easier for me to follow, in that a lot of his MO seems to be based in making choices for oneself and how those choices resound into the future, which is a really cool angle given the first event that kicks off a lot of XY's climax (your protagonist choosing a button). There's just something in the presentation that reads very different here, where it kind of aligns to this sense that the problems of the world need a great person to make hard choices and push through, while indecision squanders the potential of great people. It's a neat way to portray the guy. Also big surprise, but Hilbert. I dunno, his role in Father or Foe was cute, I kinda like the kid now, and I never thought I'd say that about a protagonist character.
As for like but elevated higher, I'd say Winona is probably grand champion in that regard. I always kinda liked her, but man is her portrayal in Masters a delight, she is such a lunatic I love her. Similar vein, but Liza was a surprise, out of nowhere favorite. I barely even registered Liza but her Center conversations are super precious. I also really liked Roxanne and Jasmine and Clair, some of the general characters I was already drawn to. An interesting exception is Sabrina. I really like Sabrina, but Masters doesn't feel like it's done anything to really...improve on her or make her stand out. Which is strange, but okay.
As for specific events, I think Father or Foe is my outright favorite by composition. That one hits so good. N's lingering feelings of wanting things to work out with Ghetsis, the parallels to Silver who sees exactly why this is tough and Hilbert being completely lost because he didn't come from that kind of background but wanting to support his friend, the group banding together to try and help Ghetsis despite him being a piece of shit and having that all fall apart anyway. I dunno, something about it just hits right. Though I really like the Cyrus one too just for giving us Sophocles and the fact that Cyrus made a friend. Though man, big shoutouts to the Kanto villain arc, that one did such a good job. Like, I never quite thought I'd hit "legitimately compelling" from a gacha game's story mode but fuck dude, they nailed it.
I did really like Winter Wishes, I think it was overall very solid despite kinda missing the correct takeaway from Leon's lifestyle. I liked the PokeWars event, I think that was a pretty neat concept to introduce. And I think I like most of the legendary events; Silver's is good, Sycamore's is fantastic, Hop's is alright. I think it's just Giovanni, Zinnia, and MU that I don't like, and that's mostly because they don't do anything all that different. I...think that's it for what I've been around for. Everything else was before my time and didn't get a rerun, or didn't stand out to me at all.
As for OCs? I like Lear now but couldn't stand him until he was already better. We all knew he wasn't going to be proper villain, and frankly I just think he's a lot better and more fun as a character when he's this dramatic, over the top guy who's basically the Pokemon equivalent of Seto Kaiba. Sawyer's the man, I love that guy. I do not care for Rachel, which is at least 40% design and 60% her character gimmick being super boring to me. Tina has done nothing except show up with Flareon and make me very upset, so...jury's still out on that one. Paulo I actively disliked all through the main story, but I am waiting eagerly for him to turn evil. I want a proper rival turned villain for the sake of power to beat you. I know that's maybe too much to ask but I think this kid can deliver and by god would that turn my opinion on him around in a second. PML I think was a pretty boring story overall, kinda just the backdrop to a gacha game they figured would be marketable because Pokemon prints money on branding alone, but I think the villain arc is seriously stepping up its game and am unbelievably excited for tomorrow's installment.
